The Thiruvallam Parasurama Swami Temple is a popular Hindu temple located in the town of Thiruvallam, near Thiruvananthapuram. The temple is dedicated to Lord Parasurama, the creator of Kerala, and is home to several important after-death ceremonies. The temple is also popular among devotees for its natural beauty and peaceful surroundings.
I did Elder's Tharpanam in this Sri Parasurama Temple. So many people from all over India came to this location to perform the Pooja on the day of Amavasya Thidhi. Really amazing and Pandits explained clearly and cooperative. But the only thing is The Pandits explained everything in Malayalam language only other languages people don't understand. We follow when the other people do it.

Good temple specific for local rituals and culture. I visited the place as tourist, and couldn't understand what ritual were going on, where many devotees with small amount of boiled grains chanting mantras in group.

21st Oct, today... Completed amavasai tharpanam @ this temple.. Well organised.. Per sitting, easily 300 people... Deeply rooted in tradition
Gawthaman S — Google review
This temple is one of the oldest and most spiritually powerful temples I have visited. The deity here, Lord Parashuraman is truly divine and powerful - one can genuinely feel the positive energy and blessings upon entering the temple premises. The ancient & traditional architecture adds a classic charm, reflecting the deep-rooted heritage and devotion that this place holds. Every corner of the temple carries a sense of purity, faith, and calmness that touches the heart of every devotee. However, I would like to mention a concern regarding the Bali (ritual) procedures. During my visits, I felt that the poojaris inside the temple were performing the rituals in a bit of a hurry, without giving enough time or attention to make the karma feel complete and satisfying. As devotees, we come with deep faith & emotion, expecting peace and fulfillment after the rituals, but the hurried approach sometimes affects that spiritual satisfaction. It also feels like there is a greater focus on the dakshina (offerings) rather than on the emotional & spiritual connection of the devotees. Apart from that, the temple continues to be a truly divine and sacred place. The presence of the deity gives immense strength, hope, and inner peace. Despite the small concerns, I always feel blessed and spiritually recharged after visiting this temple. It remains a place of strong divine energy and faith that every devotee should experience at least once in their lifetime.
Aditya N — Google review
A serene and spiritually powerful temple dedicated to Lord Parashurama, located beautifully along the banks of the Karamana River. The calm atmosphere, traditional Kerala temple architecture, and the sacredness of the rituals performed here make it a must-visit for devotees and those seeking peace. It is believed to be the only major temple in Kerala dedicated to Lord Parashurama, and many people perform "bali" (ancestral offerings) here, especially during Karkidakam and Tharpanam days. The surroundings are clean and well-maintained. A truly divine experience and a great place to connect with Kerala’s spiritual and cultural roots.
Sreeresh R — Google review
A wonderful and welcoming place to visit with family. The temple has a very positive and friendly atmosphere, where devotees of all ages are welcome.
Neva T — Google review
This is supposedly the only temple dedicated to Lord Parasuram in Kerala one of the few in India. We visited the temple after coming from Sri Padmanabaswamy temple. It was based on South indian type of architecture and I felt a deep sense of calm and divinity. Taking photos inside is not allowed.

Heard as one of the most powerful dharga in kerela . For my mother's wish we went there . Building looked very beautiful. Very big dharga with pink colour painted. Was looking like small tajmahal. Not near to sea. Many people was worshiping. Bathroom available, small snack stalls available, plenty of parking available, small shop available for few islamic related things we can buy. I am not aware of history behind the dharga.dharga is not very clean but ok . Overall good experience good vibe .

Bheemapally Juma Masjid is a peaceful place to visit. In the evenings it gets crowded and the atmosphere is very lively with many food stalls and shops outside. The mosque has good parking space and is easily accessible by public transportation. Overall, it gives a sense of peace and calmness while visiting.”

Beemapally is one of the oldest mosque in Kerala. Although this is a Muslim mosque, people of any religion can come here at any time and enter into the mosque. This is also a tourist destination in Thiruvananthapuram. There is a tomb of an important scholar inside the mosque, and many rituals are performed there in related with this. It is located in a large area.

Beemapally, a vibrant neighborhood in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, offers a blend of cultural richness and modern convenience. The famous Beemapally Mosque stands as a symbol of religious harmony and architectural grandeur. Visitors can immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of the bustling markets, where they can find a variety of local delicacies and handicrafts. The serene coastline is perfect for a leisurely stroll or enjoying breathtaking sunsets. With its friendly locals and diverse attractions, Beemapally is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the authentic charm of Kerala.

One of the most famous mosques located near the coastal area of Trivandrum. It is different from other mosques. It is beautifully constructed and is light pink in colour. The Beemapally Dargah Shareef houses the tomb of Syedunnisa Beema Beevi. She is believed to have divine powers. It is recommended to visit the mosque mornings or evenings or as usual timings to pray. The mosque is famous for its annual Urus that is festivals to venerate Beema Beevi at which people from all customs and faiths jointly participate. The festival begins with the hoisting of the flag of the mosque. During the festivals many programmes like Islamic devotional songs, Duff muttu etc are also conducted. The Chandanakudam Mahotsavam marks the end of the festival at which the flag from the Beema Beevis grave is taken and a grand procession of elephants along with the panchavadyam music takes place. The panchavadyam includes Timila, Maddalam, Ilathalam, Kombu and Idakka. The mosque environment is maintained well. It is just 5-6 kilometres away from the Thampanoor or Thiruvananthapuram City. The mosque was built in the 1960s and completed with nearly 18 years of construction which made it an architectural marvel. There are also many small shops for food and toys nearby which can be utilised by the visitors to buy toys and all for the children. Thus during the next visit to Trivandum one can visit the place and see it.

Kerala Arts & Crafts Village

Kerala Arts & Crafts Village, located in the picturesque village of Vellar near Kovalam, spans 8.5 acres and showcases the diverse craft traditions of South Asia. The village is a collaborative space that aims to revive and nurture Kerala's rich craft culture, housing 100 skilled artisans and various facilities such as craft studios, an art gallery, and a restaurant.
A MUST VISIT PLACE IN TRIVANDRUM You will be blown away with the marvelous work of artisans of Kerala!!! The only spot you need to go to get souvenir after your Kerala trip. Also this place is so beautiful designed with nature that got me mesmerized ✨
Ankita S — Google review
Went to check out the Kerala Arts and Science place recently and honestly, it was decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but still worth a visit if you’re nearby. First off, it’s a pretty cool initiative by the government, so props for that. The space is neat, well-organized, and has a pleasant vibe. You can easily spend 2–3 hours there exploring different exhibits. Definitely not boring. One thing I liked the staff at the counters are super helpful. They explain everything in detail and make sure you’re not lost or confused. That kind of guidance makes a big difference. Also they have parking it’s kinda expensive for what it is. Like, not crazy outrageous, but still feels a bit overpriced for a government-run spot. Could’ve been more budget-friendly, especially if you’re going with family. It’s ok-ok overall. Nice initiative, chill atmosphere, helpful staff… but a bit too pricey for what you get. it’s a good one-time experience.

Happy to have discovered this gem of a place in Trv, beautifully made ,perfect for the arts and crafts stalls, everything blends in so well. Thr grounds are neatly done giving very aesthetic and kerala vibes. The sunset point can be a perfect spot. Hope they do more to bring out all the potential . You can buy various products and also see how they are made.

A premium entertainment destination at a picturesque location near Kovalam. We visited this place with our club members. Smt. Athira, our guide from KACV was a friendly lady. She guided us from one place to another. Tourists from outside the state of Kerala and foreigners will find this place enchanting, though it is equally refreshing for the residents of Thiruvananthapuram. If you choose this location, preferably go on a weekend to enjoy their sumptuous buffet lunch. We Melodies Music & Dance, Kannamoola would definitely recommend this place for a one day trip to Kovalam side . One shortcoming was the absence of eV charging points. At least they could have provided sockets for customers with electric vehicles on chargeable basis.
Melodies C — Google review
True to its name, this village is dedicated to traditional arts and crafts of Kerala. It is a well designed and maintained property to bridge the gap between the craftsmen and the visitors. It is filled with different types of crafts divided into multiple segments and displayed over a vast area. There is ample parking space and a restaurant with traditional kerala cuisine. One needs to purchase tickets to visit this place and the display seems to be costly but they are worth it for the product. The cherry on the top is it's less crowded to experience it in whole at our pace.
Selvamanojkumar S — Google review
The surroundings are well-maintained, with greenery all around, and there’s a calm vibe that makes it perfect for a slow stroll. There’s also a craft shop if you want to take something home, and a decent café to relax in.

Grove Beach is a tranquil coastal destination offering a variety of activities to cater to different tastes. The sun-drenched shores create an ideal environment for relaxation, where visitors can lounge on soft sands, bask in the sun's rays, and revel in the calming ocean sounds. The clear waters are perfect for swimming and offer opportunities for snorkeling and kayaking. This small bay is sheltered by rocky formations, providing calm waters akin to a vast swimming pool with minimal waves.

It's Heaven 😍😍. At least once in your life you should come and visit this beach. It's very neat and one thing you should be cautious about is the jelly fish which the fishermen threw on the beach so beware of it. The Color of the water which is very attractive , eye-catching and stunned 😳.

A decent Beach, ample parking space, is sufficiently clean. Have options to get light foods nearby. Not too deep so kids can also enjoy. This is the easily accessinle beach at Kovalam.

We visited Grove Beach in Kanyakumari during heavy rains, and the experience was both thrilling and mesmerizing. The sea waves were high, and the water had risen so much that it was touching the walls near the road. 🌊🚧

No longer a beach thanks rise in sea levels and coastal erosion, however still a photo worthy location at Kovalam. As a local have seen over the years of this gradual change, makes us wonder on the impact of climate change.
EP — Google review
There has been a sea erosion happening and the shore sand has reduced a lot. Initial water is steep and somewhat uneven. Be careful. Haggle as much as you can with the speed boad ride providers. They come from 3000 to 2000 for the longest trip they have to offer.
Amish S — Google review
This beach is not good for swimming. There are not much life guard staffs available. We could see only one even when sea was rough. Bath facilities not available when we visited..

Nice experience to have the journey, but the tourists are looted when one litre petrol is enough for the vessel to have the whole extravaganza. For two persons you have to pay 5000 rupees. But the people are well behaved and they know how to do business.

Located within the Taj Green Cove Resort & Spa in Kovalam, Kerala, The Tides is a top-rated restaurant offering a luxurious dining experience with stunning views of the Arabian Sea. Specializing in seafood, the restaurant boasts an extensive menu featuring various preparations of lobsters, crabs, and fish. Guests can also choose from a wide selection of wines and cocktails to accompany their meals.
Despite the kitchen not being open all day or the lack of a variety of drinks n dishes, the food was AMAZING (of the two things I ordered) and service was excellent (they helped in getting me a safe way back to my guesthouse) and being by their beach to enjoy ones glass of wine speaks for itself. The management should definitely look into hiring a good bartender, adding more alcohol to their collection and getting the place rolling! Nevertheless I’d come back for the food itself and the sesame sauce, I do regret going there only on my final night of my stay! The sesame sauce was to die for, a must try with everything that you order! Muah, chef’s kiss!

I just wanted to take a moment to share my wonderful experience at your beachside dining restaurant. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that immediately set the mood for a fantastic evening. I am truly grateful to Ms. Sashi for her exceptional service; she truly went above and beyond to ensure that my dine-in experience was both enjoyable and memorable. It’s not often that you come across such attentive and courteous staff who genuinely care about their guests' satisfaction. The atmosphere at your restaurant was incredibly uplifting and created the perfect backdrop for dining. The decor, the sound of the waves, and the gentle breeze all contributed to a memorable evening. It was absolutely worth every penny spent! Additionally, the live music from Sam was truly the cherry on top of a perfect evening! His talent and the personally curated playlist added an enchanting ambiance that complemented the experience beautifully. Kudos to the entire team for your hard work and dedication. It’s clear that you all put a lot of effort into creating a wonderful dining experience. I'm a very happy customer and can't wait to return! I will surely recommend your restaurant to my friends and family. Thank you once again for a delightful evening!

Went there with colleagues for company get together and dinner with our CEO. It was a very beautiful place and nice atmosphere and experience. Very calm. But I won't say the food was exceptional. It wasn't that kind of a 5 star experience. Just some fine dining experience. But still I liked it.

Beautiful setting at the sea shore with private beach . The staff was friendly though the cost of food and beverage is on the higher side is a place to visit . We enjoyed the view and the bite . The beer was chilled and awesome but the experience was impacted as the quality of wine was awful. Sediments in the bottle and after the staff saw that they gave us a bad wine to charge us for it was not acceptable so I would say that was disappointing. To all wine drinkers avoid this restaurant rather have a beer .

Waste of time. Discrimination towards bikers. Traveled from trivandrum to this restaurant. I went to dine in my bike and they told bikes are not allowed. Told us to park the bikes outside. Only cars are allowed inside. Very sad and disheartening. I have to pay so much for the food but they don't allow my bike to be parked.

This is a lovely place for you if you want to have a lunch facing the pristine Kovalam beach …ideal for romantic couples, quiet family lunch …the sea definitely calms things down for you …the cuisine is pan Asian which includes Chinese Thai and Japanese …I would say Thai dominated the options …ordered fried rice , jasmine rice and Thai red curry in addition to Tom Yam soup …all the preparation did justice to the Thai cuisine …Hospitality shown by Mr Sujit is really praise worthy…Mr Pascal who is the chef of the cuisine paid a visit to ensure he gets a first hand feedback of the awesomeness he gives to the plate …overall a must visit if you’re on for a luxurious date in Trivandrum

Lobster Pot Seafood Restaurant is a serene eatery offering breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Accessible via a small hill from the beach road, it's favored by visitors staying nearby. The atmosphere is calm and well-managed, with friendly staff like Swaya who enthusiastically describes the variety of dishes, including the standout seafood platter that combines Kerala and continental styles. Guests praise the delicious lobster, prawns, squid, and fish while appreciating the attentive service and unique ambiance.
I spent 4 days in Kovalam – and ate all my meals in this incredible restaurant! After the first meal, I was in love with the place – and did not want to try any other place. I particularly enjoyed: - The quality of the food - The talent of the chef (including the beautiful presentations) - The friendliness of the staff - The view (over the ocean) -- perfect as it is slightly up the hill Bonus: there is even wifi! Recommendation: just ask the chef what they recommend, according to availability. I loved the lobster and the tiger prawns – as well as the more traditional Indian fish in coconut. The rice was delicious too, and so was the Indian bread.
L. L — Google review
We had seen reviews of this place for lobsters. Though we were not in a mood but this is the closest place from Leela palace and we wanted to eat out. The place is good, the owner is very polite. We ordered Butterfish fried and beer. It was pretty good. The Chicken curry was average .Being a Monday afternoon I guess not many people visit the place so it took a bit of time to prepare dishes but they seemed fresh and served hot and we were not in a rush. The view from the restaurant was relaxing. I am sure sunset would have looked amazing from there!
Ruchika B — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised to see this restaurant open in this off season when all restaurants are closed. The owner was warm and prepared a great meal for us. We tried butter garlic prawns, Gobi manchurian, fries and fried rice. The food was well done and tasty. We also got chilled beer here that was icing on the cake. The rates are reasonable and portion quite large. The cleanliness could be better possibly because of lack of staff. The view from this place is awesome. We really enjoyed our meal and some peaceful time by the sea.

My son and myself had two meals at the Lobster Pot, one was Snapper and Tiger Prawns with chips and salad and the other was Lobster with chips salad and bread. Both were delicious and the best seafood we had in India. The manager, Swayaraj made sure we had a great experience. The view is fantastic, I would highly recommend!

It's a quiet little restaurant with a stunning view of the Arabian Sea. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the ambience is amazing. This was our go-to place for our meals during our short visit to Kovalam. We really loved the Calamari and the Meen Pollichathu. The prawn masala and fish fry were good too. The location is not very accessible by vehicles. You need to climb up a small hill from the beach road. It was convenient for us as we were staying in the homestay behind this restaurant. The lack of accessibility makes it a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy your food while watching the sea.
Jithin C — Google review
Incredible food. Got the seafood platter, everything was phenomenal. The setting of the restaurant is unique, it's on a cliff with direct views of palm trees and the sea below. The restaurant is a bit of a hike, need to plan well to get there. Highly recommend getting a 2-way taxi so you have a car for return.
Mehul A — Google review
The view from this restaurant is amazing. It looks over a small path that goes one to the beach. We came here for an evening snack of pakora and tea but stayed for dinner since the view of the sunset was really nice. We ordered Kerala parota, grilled king fish, prawn curry. The parota was nice and so was the king fish. The prawn curry was ordered based on the chefs recommendation. It was spice heavy and over cooked. We did not have much of it. I wanted to order some curry and the chef made it as though he was not interested to take our order. He said everything will take 30 more minutes. He seemed to give more attention to white tourists than Indians.

Molly's Retreat is a hidden paradise with spacious rooms featuring traditional Kerala motifs and Indian wood furniture. The property boasts a relaxing swimming pool area and a laid-back restaurant serving fresh food. The owner's son, who speaks perfect English, adds to the welcoming atmosphere. The retreat offers interesting design details, including a pool in the shape of a cashew nut and unique outdoor showers. Guests can enjoy spacious and bright rooms with private balconies overlooking lush vegetation.
We stayed at Molly’s Retreat for one night with two families and kids. The location is great, and for that area, it’s quite budget-friendly. The staff were very cooperative and attentive, making our stay comfortable. The swimming pool is large and clean, and the kids had a wonderful time. There’s a small restaurant inside the resort — we had both lunch and dinner there. The food was delicious, though it did take a bit of time to prepare. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. Everything about the hotel felt high-quality and well cared for. The only slight letdown was the food—it was decent but didn’t quite match the excellence of the rest of the experience. Still, I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Seafood restaurant
Sea Gull Restaurant is a dining establishment situated near Kovalam beach. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with some tables located along a raised path facing the sea. In the evening, these ocean-facing tables are illuminated by candles, creating a spectacular ambiance. Unfortunately, it seems that only foreigners are given the opportunity to dine at these sought-after seats during nighttime, which can be disheartening for Indian patrons.
What a gorgeous little restaurant. Right on the edge of the ocean. My mum and I had a gorgeous seafood meal here on the last night of our holiday. Shaji was extremely friendly and welcoming. He showed us and told us about the catch of the day. We were seated right at the waters edge to dine. Gorgeous view over the ocean. Wonderful location to take in the sun set. The meal and atmosphere was relaxed and not rushed. We ordered the sea food basket. Served a banana leaves. We ate 2 types of fish, tiger prawns, Calamari and crab all cooked beautifully in local spices. Delicious and delicately spicy. Served with a lovely salad and a few chips. We ordered pineapple fritters for desert. A love sweet pineapple slice lightly battered with a drizzle of honey. Very yummy. I had a vodka tonic and mum had gin and tonic. This is a wonderful place to go and enjoy the local fabulously fresh sea food and soak up the atmosphere. ❤️😊

Great food, we had banana wrapped fish, grilled tiger prawn, chilli fish, banana wrapped prawn masala. We took suggestions from them and great recommendation. They showed us the fish before cooking which was great.

This is a little gem of a restaurant. Today's catch of tiger prawns and snapper cooked to perfection. we had ours cooked to a European palette of tomato and garlic butter, just wonderful. The owner is a lovely gentleman. The setting on the sea front with the uninterrupted view made the evening.

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Neyyar Dam Trivandrum, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to the german bakery. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

The Neyyar Dam is a large structure built on the Neyyar River, featuring a reservoir, picnic areas, and a wildlife sanctuary that offers visitors an opportunity to take part in various types of boating activities on the water. Of these options, the wildlife boating experience stands out as it takes passengers through twists and turns to reach the 'wildlife preservation centre,' which is a nature retreat in itself that is definitely worth visiting.
A very good place to visit with family. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and it’s a super spot to spend some relaxing time. You’ll need to do a bit of walking, but it’s definitely worth it for the views and the experience.

Neyyar Dam is a scenic gravity dam on the Neyyar River in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, located at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Completed in 1958, the dam and its surrounding wildlife sanctuary are a popular day-trip destination from the city, known for nature, wildlife, and boating. Attractions and activities Boating on the reservoir: Take a boat tour, including speed boats, on the expansive reservoir. The ride offers scenic views of the surrounding hills and takes you to the various islands and wildlife areas within the sanctuary. Lion Safari Park: Located on a secluded island accessible by boat, this park allows visitors to see lions in a semi-wild habitat. Note: The park's operational status may vary, so it's wise to check in advance. Crocodile Rehabilitation and Research Centre: Accessible by boat, this center offers a safe way to observe crocodiles. You can also see a collection of other reptiles here. Deer Park: An enclosure on one of the islands allows you to view deer. It is also part of the boat tour. Wildlife Sanctuary: The dam is part of the larger Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a diverse range of animals like elephants, sloth bears, and leopards. It is also a birdwatcher's paradise. Trekking: Guided trekking opportunities are available within the sanctuary. For those interested in more serious hiking, obtaining prior permission from the Forest Department is necessary for climbs like Agasthyamala Peak.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A calm and peaceful place to visit! Neyyar Dam is beautifully maintained and very clean. There’s a lovely clock tower inside — definitely visit it, because from the top you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire area. Inside the dam premises, there’s also a Milma ice cream parlour, a café, and a canteen that serves good meals. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature! 🌿🍦
Nikhil J — Google review
I am giving 4 star as its good but has potential to be great. Neyyar Dam, nestled in the Western Ghats about 30 km from Thiruvananthapuram, offers a peaceful escape into nature. As a traveller, I found it to be a quiet, scenic spot—ideal for those who prefer slow, reflective moments over crowded tourist attractions. The dam is surrounded by forested hills and a vast reservoir that glows beautifully in the evening light. A walk through the nearby park or simply sitting by the water feels calming. The boat ride across the reservoir adds a touch of adventure, taking you to the Lion Safari Park and Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre. While these spots may not be high-end, they offer a raw and unique experience, especially for families or first-time visitors. Neyyar isn’t about grand sights or adrenaline; it’s about pausing, watching, and breathing. It’s best visited on a weekday for a quieter experience. There are limited food options, so carrying your own snacks and water is a good idea. If you’re looking for a simple, refreshing day surrounded by nature, Neyyar Dam is well worth a visit. During monsoon this place offers a completely different experience than that of the summer. Facilities are mostly minimal and the central view tower definitely needs some better management. Also thats the same situation of the parks, can be maintained well, with proper land management and maintenance. If you are someone who enjoys a view its a great place. There is also a KTDC restaurant right next to the dam. I hope they have accommodation facilities too as they had a decent menu. Prices seemed reasonable and can be subjective. There is also an aquarium that has a ton of fish species, and there are some giants too, giants in a sense as if they weigh over 50kgs. It has a seperate ticket counter. I believe it was the first fish aquarium in india or asia. The lighting and interior ambience during monsoon is very dull and moody, but i hope it will be better during the summer. The structure is also comparatively better considering a public building, its not great in terms of aesthetics but is definitely good in terms of flow, movement and exhibit placement. I liked that one. It also has some huge ponds outside the building close to its perimeter that has some large koi fishes. Overall a good place for a one day trip, and it’s always better to visit and leave early. Check with the authorities for official timings.

Beautiful Place for Nature Lovers! Neyyar Dam is one of the most scenic and relaxing spots near Thiruvananthapuram. The view of the reservoir surrounded by hills is simply stunning. It’s a great place for a family outing or picnic — peaceful, clean, and well-maintained. You can also visit the nearby lion safari park, crocodile park, and boating area for a fun experience. The fresh breeze and calm water make it a perfect escape from city life. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

One of the best place in trivandrum to experience the evening vibe and sunset. You can see the the view from main road itself, but you can also walk to to the side roads to experience the complete beauty of this place. You can buy fresh fish also from here. Currently boating is not available. You can either come to this place though your own vehicle or public transport like KSRTC bus. There is no dedicated parking space but you can park your vehicles near to this site. Safe swimming spaces are there in the lake. I think government can make this place as a main tourist attraction in Trivandrum, by providing public toilets and parking kind of facilities.

Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium, also known as Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, is a compact yet fascinating destination showcasing a diverse collection of marine life. Situated on an 8-acre plot, this aquarium boasts over 100 species of tropical fish, including groupers, catfish, sharks, and stingrays. Visitors can witness captivating moon jellyfish and sea nettles in the jellyfish tank during feeding time.
Visited this beautiful aquarium during my trip to Kerala and it was such a peaceful and fascinating experience! The place is well-maintained with a wide variety of vibrant and exotic fish species. From colourful tropical fish to rare marine creatures, everything was displayed so beautifully. It’s a perfect spot for families, kids, and anyone who loves nature.

I visited here once when it was inaugurated. It was a beautiful ecosystem for marine life. Fish were lively with a lot of corals. Now due to lack of maintenance/ negligence it’s completely in shabby. Most of the tanks have dead fishes. Almost all corals are dead. Most fishes are in very bad shape. It’s heart breaking. Has place to park the car on the road. Vizhinjam port and light house is also nearby.

I honestly don’t know what to comment. I was truly disappointed after visiting the famous Vizhinjam Aquarium, a place I had longed to see since childhood. Today’s visit felt like a mistake—I wish I had postponed it and kept the beautiful image alive in my heart. Sadly, the aquarium has fallen below even the standards of Neyyar Aquarium. Please, do something—just a little effort could make it so much better.

The aquarium in Kovalam is a destination well worth visiting, offering guests an engaging experience that can easily fill at least an hour. While the selection of fish species on display is somewhat limited, the exhibits remain captivating and are sure to leave a lasting impression. Particularly noteworthy are the sharks, turtles, and eels, which stand out as highlights of the aquarium. Observing these fascinating creatures up close provides a unique opportunity for both adults and children to appreciate their beauty and behaviour. Despite the modest variety, the quality of the displays makes it a worthwhile stop during your time in Kovalam.

With its beach town location on the Arabian Sea, Kovalam attracts tourists looking for an enjoyable culinary experience.
Very nice, relaxing and clean place with amazing view! Healthy good food with many vegetarian and non-vegetarian options on the menu. We have been here 5 days in a row and liked everything we have ordered: eggs perfectly baked, tasty dark brown bread, delicious fruit salad, loved the french toast, the cheese fritters, the salads, vegetable pakora and vegetable biryani! Their café latté and massala chai is also very good. On top of that very friendly service by Krishna and Raju. Special thanks to Raju who was our waiter every time except once. I can't remember ever having such a peaceful, kind, pro-active and descreet waiter. We recommend this place! ❤️
Inge V — Google review
I recently visited this place, and while the view was stunning, the service left much to be desired. It was evident that the staff prioritized foreigners over locals, which was disappointing and discriminatory. The waiter attending to us didn’t take our order properly. I ordered pasta and cold coffee, but even after we finished the pasta, there was no sign of the coffee. When we enquired, we realized the waiter had either forgotten or ignored the order. The pasta sauce was excellent, probably the highlight of the meal, even though the pasta itself wasn’t remarkable. However, the cold coffee was extremely bitter and unpleasant. Overall, the location and view are fantastic, but the service and attention to detail need serious improvement.

One of the worst food I ever had. Zero flavour profile! Drinks, main dish sandwich all were underwhelming and a big let down. The view is really good and coffee is decent and the service is on time and fast but the main item aka the food is horrible. Avoid the place if you love your taste buds because the dishes and drinks are picturesque but not palatable.

Loved it so much that we came back the next day for dinner and had butter chicken, which was delicious. Pineapple juice was too good .Great food and a fantastic location make it a must-visit!

Nice ambience, it’s right in front of the beach. The food was good, both the home made potato wedges/fries and the grilled king fish were great. The person at reception was not that polite. The place could have been cleaner.

I don't recommend the beef. I got food poisoning from a burger I ate there 2 weeks ago. That was my second visit since the first time I had butter chicken and that was delicious. The burger was also overpriced for the very small size. It was in between the size of an appetizer slider and regular burger. The menu said it comes with fries. They served 4 small potato wedges. Service is slow. There are young servers who barely speak English. One young boy who works there is shy and doesn't come by to check on you. I really like the restaurants layout and decor. The vibe is good. The food and service needs improvement. If it wasnt for the butter chicken I would've given 2 stars overall.

We were here a good time, the ambience is good and peaceful, beer is bad and and we have ordered a chicken fried rice that was also bad. I expected a little more food quality here. The price that we payed for beer here was 350 rupees and we are asked to put the beer bottles down on floor and not on the table

Beatles Café sits right on the seaside pathway at Kovalam Beach, offering a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea and the Vizhinjam Lighthouse. From the outside, it looks inviting—the whole café is designed with wooden interiors, giving it a rustic feel, and the seating arrangement is comfortable enough to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. On ambience and location, the café scores well. Now, coming to the food—this is where things fell apart for me. We were two people, and we ordered: • Margherita Pizza (₹600) – Honestly, a big disappointment. The flavor was flat, the texture was off, and it didn’t taste like something worth even ₹200. If I had to rate it, it would be a minus one out of five. • Vegetable Sandwich (₹300) – Decent, I’d give it a three out of five. The sandwich itself was average, but the potato wedges served alongside were actually the star of the meal—crispy, seasoned well, and easily a five on five. The major downside? The pricing. We ended up paying around ₹1,100 for just these two items and left neither full nor satisfied. For that cost, the food should’ve been far more flavorful and substantial. What I did like, though, was the service. The staff were polite, attentive, and kept checking if we needed anything else. Service was quick, and that’s probably the one saving grace here. 🌟 Pros: • Lovely seaside location with views of the lighthouse. • Wooden, rustic seating that feels cozy. • Attentive and quick service. ⚠️ Cons: • Overpriced food with very poor flavor. • Quantity too small for the cost. • Ambience nice, but honestly, the vibe didn’t feel very “Beatles” or special—it felt like just another café. Rating: 2/5 – Go for the view and maybe a drink or some light snacks, but if you’re looking for a good meal, this might not be the place.

Anitha's Garden Stay is a charming accommodation located near Kovalam beach, offering spacious and comfortable rooms with the option for amenities like hot showers and AC. The attentive staff provides excellent service, and guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the on-site restaurant. The owner, Yousuf, is known for his kindness and willingness to accommodate guests' needs. The hotel's quiet and secluded atmosphere adds to its appeal, making it a great value for travelers looking to relax by the beach.
Amazing place and very very kind hearted owner - Yousuf. First of all, hotel's location is near the beach (1 min walk to the beach), very good vibes. Secondly, we have booked the room directly and we haven't paid any advance. When we checked in, he didn't ask money even that time, he said we can give the money while checkout. We needed a kitchen for cooking Kid's food. There was no Kitchen, on one request, he did the arrangement of kitchen within few hours. Highly recommended for everyone of you, your stay will be pleasant and you are guaranteed to have very pleasant experience.

Perhaps, Anitha, it would be best if you pointed out that Anitha's Garden Stay is run more on a hobby basis than professionally? Can you also emphasize that Swedish guests have priority in case of errors such as e.g. double bookings? And, isn't it time that the company is presented in sales channels with honest images, not past glossy images? Finally, my best advice: When the cause of problems that arise lies in the lack of professionalism and competence, do not transfer the blame to your guests. Never use disrespectful treatment as a means of getting rid of guests who can both document a confirmed reservation and have also paid for their stay!

The food here is great. The dishes are flavorful enough to intrigue your taste buds. The price isn't too high, it's alright. The waiters are friendly and offer great service and food recommendations. The ambience is alright, not exquisite or anything but just enough to make you feel like you've had a nice time in a good place. Overall a nice place to have dinner when you're at Kovalam

We saw this place was highly rated on Trip Advisor and walked about 3km from the place where we stayed, so that we do not miss this. However, we were let down with the overall experience that we had. Firstly, the service took forever. We had to wait atleast 10 min to catch the attention of the people out there, at any point in time. The first food item arrived almost 45min from the time we ordered, and the second item after about 1hr 15min. However, we had time and were patient enough to try out the food, as that's what we had come there for. The food did not taste good either. The cheese on the pizza tasted old. One of the shakes that we ordered was not thick at all (was very watery). We were on a 4 day trip to Kerala, and this was the only blot on our entire experience.

We had one dinner and one lunch there and we really enjoyed food ans staff. The restaurant is very clean and the staff friendly. It's a nice place to taste good seafood on a roof top with seaview. The fresh fruit juices are homemade. We highly recommend this Bistro either for just a drink or to eat

A restaurant at the Light House Beach, Kovlam-close to operational Light House side, mainly serves sea food items with very limited options for vegetarians. A rural-urban ambience, 3 story restaurant has ample shed type seating and open kitchen by the side of seating area. As the owner admitted, the stuff served is more suitable to Europeans and other Westerners tastes/styles than Indians, however, they can serve Indian tastes as well! The food was average, as per my Indian Standards, and priced well. Service takes little time. Cleanliness/hygiene very average. Dingy poor toilet conditions.... but appears the restaurant is cozy with the business they are getting.

Excellent food, attentive service. Best meal we have had this holiday, fish Mollie & coronation chicken. Excellent strong beer (described as pop juice on the bill of course). Clean handwash with soap & towel. Clean toilet (first I have seen with toilet roll). We'll be back.

The most favorite place I stayed in two months traveling throughout Asia! I absolutely cannot recommend Anitha's enough. Yousuf is a dream of a host; he is warm, friendly, and a great guide to the area, as well. The restaurant is also fabulous, the coffee was delicious every day and I enjoyed sitting and watching the waves and tourists while eating or drinking my coffee. I am hopeful to return in the near future!

La Promenade Hotel is a fantastic choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience near Kovalam Beach. The spacious rooms, each named after a unique spice, provide an inviting atmosphere perfect for families or business trips alike. Guests can enjoy delightful meals at the Indo-Arabic restaurant located on the ground floor, while the third-floor dining area offers stunning views and delicious food at affordable prices. With 24/7 service available, La Promenade ensures that your needs are met around the clock.
Stayed: Mon, Tue Rooms: Room is spacious. No of people: 2 adults, 2 kids. Has a king size bed and extra bed was provided. Service: There is a gap of 3 hours in the evening where the morning shift receptionist leaves and evening shift receptionist arrives. Faced few inconveniences regarding this. But sorted out later. Bathroom: It was clean with unwanted items which are not properly maintained in clean condition like bath tub, broken dust bin, malfunctioned shower unit (turns on with the tap on and doesn't stops sometimes), improper seal of false ceiling due to AC pipes, broken tiles etc. Over all I can say it was a nice stay with minor issues with bathroom. As the room is nice, I ignored the bathroom conditions. Pure vegetarian restaurant is just opposite the hotel and it is recommended for vegetarians especially as it will be difficult to find pure veg hotels. It was a nice stay here, all the concerns are properly addressed by the in charge here.

DONT STAY! Worst hotel! Very dirty! They don’t even wash the bed sheets, there was someone ones hair on the bed when we went, I fell sick that night because the AC filter wasn’t changed and I got infected, been three days and I’m still sick, better to sleep on the road at night but not this place!

Worst hotel of my entire life. Room having very bad smell. Seepage all around the wall. All wooden work having small insect. Service is zero , very non hygienic. Even after booking breakfast we have not taken because of poor house keeping. Rest all photo will brief you. Better sleep along roadside than sleeping in this type of hotel.

Prime location. Right at Kovalam junction. Has an Indo Arabic restaurant on the ground floor serving great food.

No pros found, only cons: (1) Dirty rooms & bedsheets. (2) Seepage on walls here and there. (3) Neither picked up the call nor any one was available at reception counter when went there to complain about the smoke coming out of door bell. Electrician came after 1-1.5 hours. (4) Lift operation was switched off in the morning. (5) The filthy TASTELESS FOOD! Yuck! And many more bad experiences... Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please don't waste your money here.

Receptionist was welcoming and polite. However we had a bitter experience with the restaurant staff. We parked the car in front of the hotel as we were staying there. The restaurant staff came and abused us for parking there. He thought we parked the car there and went outside for food. When we conveyed that we are staying in the hotel he just left without even apologizing fot the filthy language he used. No professionalism from the part of restaurant management also for extending an apology. Never coming back

The room are big and spacious. Food is good and affordable. The services are good. The place is near Kovlam beach in the main city. The service is available 24×7.. The rooms are named after a definite type of spice. The view from the balcony is awesome too. Good for family stays as well as business trip stays(has a co-operate atmosphere). The restaurant on the third floor is delightful too.

Lighthouses
Nestled near the picturesque Kovalam beach in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the Vizhinjam Lighthouse is a striking red-and-white striped beacon that has been guiding sailors since its completion in 1972. Standing tall at 36 meters on Kurumkal Hill, this lighthouse not only serves as a vital navigational aid but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding lush landscapes.
A Hidden Gem with a Breathtaking View! Vizhinjam Lighthouse is an absolute must-visit if you're near Kovalam or Thiruvananthapuram. It's not a very large lighthouse, but the view from the top is incredible. You get a 360-degree panoramic view of the Arabian Sea, nearby beaches, and the surrounding greenery. The climb to the top is short but steep—around 140 steps and a narrow spiral staircase at the end. It’s manageable for most people, and totally worth it for the scenery. The breeze up there is refreshing, especially around sunset. The lighthouse is well-maintained and there’s a small museum that gives you some interesting background on maritime history and navigation. Staff were polite and helpful. Pro tip: Try to go during clear weather, preferably in the late afternoon, and bring your camera—the sunset view is unforgettable! Entry Fee: Very reasonable (₹20–₹30 when I visited). Timing: Check before going, as it sometimes closes around noon and reopens in the afternoon. Parking: Available nearby. Highly recommended if you're in the area and want to enjoy a peaceful spot with a stunning view. 🌅

Located near Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram. A must-visit spot for those who love scenic views and calm surroundings. Perched on a hilltop, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, golden beaches, and lush greenery. The climb to the top is short but rewarding, and once you reach the viewing deck, the cool breeze and stunning vistas make it unforgettable, especially during sunset. The lighthouse is well-maintained, with a small museum showcasing its history. It’s a perfect blend of history, beauty, and relaxation - recommended for travelers and photographers.

The tower presents an excellent opportunity for visitors to spend at least an hour enjoying the surroundings. Standing at a height of 30 metres, the tower offers a remarkable vantage point, providing sweeping views of the landscape. The elevated position allows guests to appreciate the scenery from a unique perspective, making it a memorable stop during the trip. For photography enthusiasts, the tower is an ideal spot. The panoramic view from the top is perfect for capturing stunning photographs, whether of the natural beauty or the bustling activity below. Even at the entrance and the areas located beneath the tower, there are numerous photo opportunities. These locations allow visitors to take advantage of different angles and lighting conditions, ensuring a diverse collection of memorable images from their visit. But don't visit on the Monday.

Vizhinjam Lighthouse is one of the must-visit spots near Kovalam. The view from the top is absolutely stunning — you get a full panoramic view of the coastline, the blue sea, and the nearby beaches. The climb to the top is short but a little steep, totally worth it once you see the view. The place is well maintained and organized, with proper timings for entry. There’s also a small museum area that showcases the history of lighthouses, which is pretty interesting. It’s usually not too crowded if you go early in the morning or around sunset, and the lighting during those times makes it perfect for photos. Parking is available nearby as well. Overall, a beautiful spot to visit for views, photos, and a bit of peaceful time by the sea.

Vizhinjam Lighthouse offers a stunning panoramic view of the Arabian Sea and the nearby Kovalam beach. Climbing to the top rewards visitors with a breathtaking coastal landscape and cool sea breeze. The red and white tower itself is picturesque and perfect for photography. It’s well-maintained, and the surrounding area is peaceful and scenic. A must-visit spot for those who love sea views and serene sunsets.

Beautiful Spot : The lighthouse is a picturesque spot that's perfect for photography and relaxation. Children's Park : The availability of a children's park nearby makes it a great destination for families. Cafe : There's a small cafe on site, providing a convenient spot to grab a snack or drink. Notes: Cash Only: Please note that only cash is accepted for ticket purchases, so it's best to come prepared. Lift Facility: The lighthouse has a lift facility, making it accessible for visitors with mobility issues. If you're planning to visit Kovalam, make sure to add the lighthouse to your itinerary.

The friendly and professional staff, along with skilled massage therapists who display their certificates, create a trustworthy environment. The center offers various types of ayurvedic treatments, including deep body massages, shirodhara, and reflexology sessions. Customers praise the fair pricing and the caring nature of Mr. Baiju and the doctor.
It was really a relaxing experience. I took the full body massage. The way they do the massage is just so different. They heat the oil and put it on the body. Also, where there is pain they use special oil and give more massage there. My body was just so relaxed and after an hour i took the hot water bath and it was more relaxing. Whenever ill come to kerala, i am definitely going to take massage here. And if you are finding a place for massage, i would definetly recommend this place. They all have around 15 to 20 years of experience with proper certificates. Do come here❤️

Posting a late review. Visited the center last month in September. The masseur was very professional and friendly. He gave enough time for the entire massage. I dont prefer AC, but natural open air. He kindly accepted to move to a room of my preference that had more natural light and fresh air. It was a nice windy morning, the massage felt so amazing in an airy room on the terrace. He made sure the massage was professional throughout. I was really happy with his service, and the setup. I would definitely come back again.

Surfing, Windsurfing & Kitesurfing
Kovalam Surf Club, located in the coastal town of Kovalam, India, is a popular destination for surfing enthusiasts. The club benefits from the town's uninterrupted coastline and is also home to the Surfing Federation of India's surfing contest. Visitors interested in learning or experiencing surfing can visit this club. Additionally, nearby attractions include the Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, which offers an engaging experience for children with its Image Pearl Technique observation.
This surf club is fantastic. 1. I contacted the shop for local information beforehand, and their quick responses made me feel confident about visiting Kovalam. 2. I've been surfing for over 45 years, and the shop staff were incredibly kind in their instruction to beginners. 3. As a lifeguard instructor myself, I observed their safety management. The shop’s instructors were skilled, and they communicated well with the professional lifeguards on Lighthouse Beach. In many other Indian beaches, there isn’t much coordination between local safety management and the police. However, here I felt very safe. 4. There was only one disappointment. Although the surf school had plenty of boards, there weren’t enough boards for intermediate and advanced surfers, which was quite disappointing. As a Japanese person, I can introduce advanced Japanese surfboards, and Japan has a lot of used boards available. I’d love to assist them in this regard in the future. 5. For my next visit, I plan to bring beginner girls to enjoy this beach.

We had a great surf lesson with the Kovalam Surf Club! As beginners, the instructor was very helpful, patient and really flexible with us. We had so much fun and absolutely enjoyed the experience! 10/10 absolutely recommend!

Very bad experience. If possible , surf at Pondicherry , many professional surf clubs there. The instructor conducted the sessions on waves higher than 7ft. For someone who doesn’t know swimming / terrified of the sea was hell traumatic. The instructor stated that the fins of the board will be destroyed on shallow water so can’t help. Don’t water your money on this place.

Kovalam Surf Club is a mission based organisation to bring surfing for the benefit of the poor. I have taken over 7 days of classes and this review is based on my experiences. The surf club offers lessons for learner’s of all stages and rents boards as well. The club is mostly used by foreign tourists but is open to everyone. I took classes alongside learner’s from Germany and US. We had boys and girls as well learning surfing here. Shah, Kannappa and Akhil are trainers currently on rolls and are experienced surfers with training on life guard skills. Shah is the most experienced of the trio and a great teacher. The money that you pay for a lesson (1500Rs for a private lesson for 1.5 hours) goes to benefit the community school project that is run by the SISP foundation to give local school dropouts a free second chance at education. The ethos of the surf school “No school, No Surf” was laid in 2005-06 by Ela from Belgium who came to volunteer at SISP and started giving free surf lessons to students who attended all five days of school. The waves/swell at Kovalam are different every day and based on the conditions, the instructor would choose a point near the light house or at a point in the long beach which is suitable. Mornings are generally the best time to surf with less wind. There is a group of surfers who come regularly on evenings to surf during sunset. The depth of sea is also not deep and is sure beginner friendly. Don’t forget to bring your shorts to the class. Enjoy the beach with a safe surfing lesson 🏄‍♂️

Hawa Beach, also known as Eve's Beach, is a serene and clean coastline along the Arabian Sea in Kovalam, Kerala. It is a popular destination for beach enthusiasts with its variety of seafood restaurants, gift shops, and clothing stores. The beach offers stunning views of the sea from the lighthouse and is an ideal spot to enjoy beautiful sunsets.
Hawa Beach is a peaceful and scenic spot in Kovalam. It’s less crowded than the main beach, making it great for a quiet walk or to watch the sunset. You’ll find fishermen at work and a few local shops nearby. The beach is clean, but swimming might be restricted due to strong waves. A nice place to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Let me know if you'd like this in Malayalam or want to mention any specific experiences!

Such a calm and refreshing place to just breathe and be. Hawa Beach felt like a hidden escape — less crowded, more peaceful, and full of natural beauty. I loved walking barefoot on the soft sand, listening to the waves, and watching the fishermen at work in the distance. The breeze was so soothing, and the whole vibe was unhurried and peaceful. Nestled right on the picturesque Lighthouse Beach, Malabar Cafe is a seafood paradise that delights food enthusiasts visiting Kovalam. This charming eatery offers an ever-changing menu based on the freshest morning catch, featuring delectable options like Pomfret, sea salmon, and various snapper varieties. Seafood lovers will be particularly drawn to their butter garlic fish and tandoori fish dishes. For those who prefer vegetarian fare, Malabar Cafe also serves a delightful selection of pasta and curries.
Excellent and exceptionally best Fish Pakora in Kerala 10 from 10!!! The view is amazing and all is fresh! Highly recommend- coming every day ( after several disappointments around)

I liked the food here very much. Their items are very good and unique. I ate chicken. I ate cumin rice and mushroom soup. I could not take a photo of the plate but its view and the food are very good. The price is a little high. Usually wherever you go in Kovalam, the price is a little high because it is on the witch side. That is why the food is very good. The service is also very good. The view of the beach is also good. If it was a little pocket friendly, it would have been very great.

Visit just for the location May be good for nonveg but surely not recommended for vegetarians Asked for paneer chilli, got just deep fried paneer bhajji without any Chinese sauces tossing Pasta was smelly and not so good Rates were exorbitant: pasta was 400 Rs and the non authentic paneer chilli was also some 250 Rs+ Location was good, slow service, no music

Malabar Café has become one of my favourite places in the Lighthouse Beach area. It is small and cosy with a fine view of the beach. Also, there's a nice breeze from the ocean that feels comfortable in the hot daytime sunshine. The food is good, and the service normally comes with positive attention and smiles. After a few visits, especially Shaji remembers your favourites of dishes and drinks.

Had lunch and dinner both in this beach side restaurant. Had Dal Fry,Chicken Masala and Kadai Fish and Steamed Rice in lunch and fish curry and dry chilli chicken and butter naan in dinner. Every dish was delicious. Among them Kadai Fish was the star item which was served in a sizzling kadai. Only Butter Naan was not upto the mark. Staffs are well behaved. They accept cash, card and GPay.

This place is the most crowded and happening restaurant in Kovalam Beach. Most of the tables will be occupied by foreigners however I haven't observed any preferences given towards them. So I can propose that this restaurant is equally good for foreigners and Indian citizens as well. Sea foods are the most sorted out dishes in the menu, you can try some of the dishes with prawns which was excellent. Even their breakfast menu seems to be ok. Being Indian I wanted some extra spices in all my food I ordered and the staffs where happy to understand my taste and serve me well. During my stay at Kollam I had visited this restaurant 5 to 6 times and never had any unsatisfying experience. Hence I would suggest that if you are planning to visit Kovalam please try to visit this restaurant once and share your experience.

Hindusthani Pure Vegetarian Restaurant is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of authentic Punjabi cuisine. Nestled away from the touristy spots, this delightful eatery offers a homely atmosphere where every dish is prepared fresh to order, ensuring maximum flavor and quality. Guests rave about their signature dishes like Kadai Paneer and Dal Makhani, both bursting with rich flavors that remind you of home-cooked meals.
Lip smacking good food. This is the only place where one can find AUTHENTIC PUNJABI food in Kovalam with a homely taste. In the first visit, Ordered Dal Makhani, Matar Paneer and Jeera Aaloo with plain Naans. Dal was super flavourful, authentic(Mix of Urad chilkha, channa and Rajma) while being easy on the stomach, Matar paneer was delicious. Jeera Aaloo was a typical home style preparation with dry spices and had a tang. Naans were topped with coriander leaves, not chewy at all and quite filling. Next time we ordered Chana Masala, Aaloo Gobhi and Palak Paneer with Tandoori Rotis ang Green Peas Rice. Absolutely Loved it. Rate of Breads is on the expensive side though while subzi and pulses are quite reasonable for the quality and quantity they serve.

Hello everyone. My family for several years, come to Kerala, to Kovalam beach. And during this time we visited many institutions, cafes and restaurants, but the Hindustani restaurant, in our opinion, is the best. Very tasty and varied dishes. Very clean and comfortable. Very high quality service, and respectful and friendly attitude to visitors.

Don’t be fooled by the side alley location! Had a few meals here in late September and everything was delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and served with a smile. If you have questions about unfamiliar dishes, don’t hesitate to ask and the staff will happily explain to help you make a choice. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick bite in between.

We visited in off season so it was almost empty. But food and staff excellent. They arranged crab on our request.Prices on higher side like all kovalam eateries. We had seafood cocktail ,fish moilee(white coconut milk gravy) prawn fries and it was excellent. Typical beach shack ambience.

Good seafood and very accommodating staff. We had 3 grilled fish served with chips, prawn noodles, chicken spring roll, butter chicken, 2 naan bread, 3 lime sodas, 3 beers, 3 rice puddings and 2 coconut pudding with ice cream and the bill was only 4000+ rupees. Staff was friendly and the ambience was good for a relaxing meal by the beach. Worth the walk there. We went again the next day and we had lobsters, mussels, jumbo prawns and the seafood platter. It was stunning!

I visited here some 4 years ago pre covid and the place was hot and happening with great waiters. Now it has gone bonkers. Some uncles run the restaurant and they have no regards for the customer. They just dont listen to anything. The food is so below average. We ordered Chilli Chicken and it was just Chicken Pakoda dipped in soya sauce and raw vegetables. No one attends to you or listens to you even if they are by your side.

Excellent and delicious food! Fresh fish available! Meen polichathu was delicious and a must try! Mussels fry was an other delicious item on the menu! Must try if in kovalam! Near the lighthouse! Parking available nearby!

From the outside it looks really nice and clean, but the insides are so messy and dirty. The vanilla milkshake with ice cream was really good, but then again the glass was dirty, which is never a good sign. The tables and chairs weren't really clean either and the place we took was really stinking, which is why we couldn't order food to eat even though we had entered to eat something. It was a total turn off, considering there's barely any customers, they could have used that time to clean up and mainten the place.
Sankar S — Google review
Believe the other negative reviews , The Malayalam people here are extremely arrogant, they are not warm as if they are God or something doesn't bother to greet or smile ,serves and stares very rudely. Now talking about the food, it is unnecessarily costly just like their behaviour they feel like they aren't really serving but doing some kindness to us. Extremely dirty and smelly atmosphere. Just don't choose this no matter what.

It has been recognized as one of the best restaurants in Kovalam, offering a good ambiance and excellent service. The restaurant's location at a top-end clifftop resort provides a magical view of lush greenery surrounded by coconut palm trees.
Raj and I chose this beautiful spot to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The stunning location, with our seating right by the beach, made it even more special. The service was outstanding, really attentive and warm. We shared some delicious Grilled Crab and pizza, both of which delighted our taste buds. Watching the sunset together was incredibly enchanting, and it felt like the perfect way to commemorate such a meaningful occasion. We had a wonderful time that we’ll always cherish.

Popular for their seafood speciality in Kovalam. The restaurant is housed under Taj Resort and is open to both residents & non-residents. Perched between the sea and the lagoon, it offers a fabulous view and ambience of dining by the sea. There is a private beach access from the restaurant too, but it's usually advised not to venture in as the tide can be strong. The food is delicious, we ordered grilled sea crabs in a traditional kerala style preparation. The service was a bit slow but the overall experience is worth the while. Prior reservation recommended.

Bait is hands down one of the best beachside dining experiences in Trivandrum. We ordered the Seafood Sampler, Lamb Pepperoni Pizza, and Classic Crème Brûlée—and every single dish was superb. The seafood was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, the Lamb Pepperoni Pizza had a delicious twist that made it stand out, and the Crème Brûlée was the perfect, indulgent finish to the meal. The ambience by the beach is unbeatable—relaxing waves, breezy vibes, and a beautifully set shack that makes you want to sit back and enjoy for hours. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with friends, family, or even for a cozy dinner by the sea. The service was just as impressive. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Overall, Bait offers the complete beach shack experience—great food, stunning ambience, and wonderful hospitality. A must-visit if you want to enjoy the best of seafood and good vibes right by the ocean.

As the other reviews say… a tranquil evening spent while watching the sunset and enjoying the sound of waves splashing among the well maintained lawns. The service was top notch, a special thanks to Mr Jyoti and Mr Suman for making sure we were well taken care of. Food was scrumptious, we are vegetarians and although it says famous for sea food… we had more than plenty of options to choose from and worth the price. Last but not the least- shout out to their celebratory chocolate cake- we had to eat inspite of being full. Amazing

Great dining experience that combines a fantastic location, good food and great service. Went for a dinner with family, we felt like we understood what we were paying for. The location is amazing, and the service, but being a keralite, i must say the food is dissatisfying, you get much better sea food elsewhere. I will not recommend this place for those looking for a dine out. 3000+ per person is purely unjustified, except for the location. Also they serve only beer and whine, they bluffed us claiming they serve ‘drinks’ while booking the table.

Samudra Beach in Kovalam is a peaceful, secluded beach and park offering picturesque scenery, sunset views, and opportunities for water sports, photography, and local fishing activities. Working at Bond Safari Kovalam is a pleasant experience, as they offer a wide range of courses. The management team and staff are always supportive and have a positive attitude towards helping whenever needed. This scuba tour agency provides an excellent opportunity to learn scuba diving, from novice to advanced levels, as well as offering a conducive environment for professionals to work, teach, and advance in their careers.
I recently went scuba diving in Bond Safari Scuba Diving & had an amazing underwater experience. Unlike my previous dive in Goa, where I spent only a few minutes underwater amidst a crowd, here I got around 30 minutes to explore the deep sea with a diver by my side. It was fascinating to witness the underwater world and encounter various species of fish. The services provided by Bond Safari Scuba Diving were exceptional—safe, well-maintained, and hygienic… The staff was very polite and friendly, making it easy to ask questions and clear any doubts…. Although the rates were higher compared to Goa, the experience was absolutely worth it. Additionally, going with a group could have made it more economical, as group discounts are available. Kerala tourism has immense potential to attract visitors with its diverse attractions. With better publicity and promotion, it could easily draw more tourists to its offerings.
Anjay A — Google review
This was such an amazing experience! Since it was fresh water, the team explained very clearly beforehand that the environment was man-made, with objects and fish placed inside, and that visibility at a distance might not be very clear. I really appreciated this honesty, as I was mainly here to experience breathing under water — and I absolutely did! Everything was very well organized. The declaration I signed was clear, and they encouraged me to take my time and read it thoroughly, which gave me a lot of confidence. The sales representative explained everything upfront, the instructor who briefed us at the beginning set the right expectations, the photographer captured wonderful moments, and the whole team was supportive throughout. A special mention to the dive master — he was truly outstanding. Patient, calm, and constantly checking if I was okay at every stage. Whenever we went deeper, he reminded me to hold my nose, helped adjust my mask whenever I felt pressure, and guided me with so much care. I fully trusted him, stayed cooperative, and never complained — which made the whole experience even smoother and more enjoyable. We managed to go all the way down to 12 meters, and I was able to breathe under water for 40 whole minutes — something I will never forget. It was a real wow moment for me, and I’m so grateful to the team for making it possible. The videos with the original water and breathing sounds make you feel so alive. Even if the video itself isn’t crystal clear, just listening to the sound of the breath, the water, and the bubbles feels like meditation. It’s incredibly calming and a beautiful memory to take away. I decided to write this in detail because I had read some negative reviews. But honestly, my experience was wonderful, and I feel it’s something people should try themselves rather than be put off. Everyone’s journey is different, and mine was truly memorable

My heartfelt thanks to Bond Safari Kovalam for making my long-time dream of scuba diving a reality. I successfully completed my Open Water Diver certification with them, a four-day course that was truly life-changing. I want to express my deep appreciation for everyone on the team. From the moment we arrived until the very end, their behavior made every student feel incredibly comfortable and happy. They were all so kind and patiently explained each section, making sure we had a clear understanding before moving on. The practical sessions were wonderful. The professionalism of our instructors was exceptional; they taught us everything with great clarity and attention to our individual progress. Underwater, they constantly made sure we were safe and comfortable. Scuba diving was a completely new experience for me, but they made me feel so confident and fearless, giving me the courage to continue diving in the future. Now, I am completely confident to dive anywhere in the world. Bond Safari Kovalam is the reason for my achievement; they successfully cleared all my fears, worries, and confusion. Their team shows 100% sincerity and a wonderful attitude in everything they do. I truly appreciate their work and proudly recommend Bond Safari Kovalam to anyone who wishes to become a part of the scuba diving world.

North Indian restaurant
Jyothi Vilas Pure Veg is a Jain restaurant offering refreshing and reasonably priced pure vegetarian meals. Located near a banyan tree where rickshaws gather, it provides a welcome change from the bustling, expensive eateries along the sea wall. The simple yet delicious food is cooked to order and offers great value. Situated on the first floor, it provides side views of the sea and an open-air dining experience.
Last year i went this place with my family. I just loved this place. The picture which i am posting is a view from 2nd floor rooms of this same hotel. We stayed for 2 days. And had our lunch and dinner there. Food quality was awesome. Staff and owner behavior is also good

Good views. Good ambience. But food quality and service is not good. When I went there for lunch, I was surprised to note that water was not available in toilets I have to wait for 10 minutes to wash my hands. They took 40 minutes to serve me lunch.

Nice place for vegetarian food. There is no other place in the vicinity which is only vegetarian. Food is good & tasty with reasonable price. It was difficult for kids as there was no regular white rice. Place is clean & tidy. Good parking place. Must visit, if you are in that vicinity.

Very nice, pure veg food in this Jain restaurant. Meals at a reasonable price. You will find this restaurant by the banyan tree where all the rickshaws are. This was a refreshing change from the high priced, very busy places on the sea wall by the beach. Pure veggie. What a treat! Simple , tasty food cooked to order. It's not smart but this is India and a little oasis. The restaurant is on the first floor with side views to the sea and open to the air. Unpretentious and extremely good value. Just about 50 metres from the beach. Very pleasant staff too. If you're fed up with the hard sell by the beach, come here for simple, good food.

If you're a North Indian and seeking for finger licking food in Kovalam, then this is the place where you can have amazing food. Plus point for vegetarian people as it is a pure vegetarian restaurant. Only con is their restaurant needs a makeover/renovation rest everything is superb The staff is very sweet and humble.

Out-of-this-world flavours! While traveling in Kerala one definitely gets plenty of chance to eat some awesomely yummy South Indian food, but this is a nice change with some excellent North Indian veg. We had chana masala, paneer jafrani/zafrani, raita, and pakoda to start. All was awesome, as was the service!

Taste of Kerala is an ideal venue for various gatherings and dining experiences. The well-maintained premises, particularly the restrooms, are kept immaculate. Patrons have reported positive experiences after booking the open area for family get-togethers, praising the delectable food provided, especially the flavorful and traditional barbecues. The desserts are also highly praised. The staff is described as friendly and courteous.
Great experience. Even though it's a bit overpriced, the ambience, service, cleanliness and quality is top. The guy who served us is one of the best in the area (kovalam). He provides exceptional service and suggests us to try pomfret fish fry which was super delicious.

We had fish curry meals and fish fry.. Food was soo nice.. Their menu is so impressive with good sea food dishes..other non veg and veg items are also there..abundant parking space.. Good ambience.. Restaurant not that far away from byepass. Famous for sea food varieties. Samudra Sadya platter will easily suffice 3 peoole. Indoor ( Air conditioned) and outdoor dining halls which can accommodate around 190+ people at a time. Air condition was not so effective for lunch Ample wheelchair accessible parking space.
Ajish J — Google review
We had the pleasure of dining with the support of a professional chef and well-equipped grill facilities, and overall, the experience was impressive. The grilled fish and Malabar fish curry were absolutely outstanding—beautifully prepared, bursting with authentic flavors, and presented with care. While the pricing leans on the higher side, the quality and taste fully justify it. The grilled chicken, however, didn’t quite match the standard of the seafood dishes and left room for improvement in terms of texture and flavor. That said, the staff were courteous, attentive, and very professional, which enhanced the overall experience. A great place if you're looking for top-tier seafood with refined preparation—especially the fish dishes. Highly recommended with just a small caveat for the grilled chicken.

Sea food platter costing Rs 1300 is the highlight of this restaurant, situated at Kovalam Leela Raviz road. With almost 10 variety of fish dishes it can be shared by three people. A must try for sea food enthusiast's. there's also a live fish food counter at night.... not tried yet ample parking space is another plus point

Good place near Kovalam Beach to have lunch. We ordered Pure Veg Thali, Sea Food Thali and Egg Biryani. We enjoyed all the items.
Arindam C — Google review
The restaurant is located prominently by the road to Kovalam beach. Sea food seems to be the main attraction. We had what they call "sagara sadya" (Feast from ocean). It contains a variety of fish items (two types of fish curry, two types of large fish fry, netholi fry, choora pickle, chemmern fry, kanava roast and crab roast. There are couple of other items I did not try.) They provide rice, tapyoca, pappadam and puliserry along with the fish items. It is good enough for three persons. It costs around Rs. 1300. The service is super fast and efficient. While the variety of fish is great, taste-wise it is not the best available in these parts. Still, would recommend it for the experience.

The Sky Bar, located at Turtle On The Beach hotel, offers a stunning panoramic view of Kovalam beach. This sky lounge combines Indian and international cuisine with a focus on fresh seafood. At Leela Hotel's Sky Bar, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the sea and a mesmerizing atmosphere. The bar offers various drinks and live music performances, making it an ideal place to chill and catch the sunset.
It is a bar situated in The Leela Kovalam. Various drinks are available but the best thing about the place is the view Watching the sunset over the sea was an unforgettable experience! The colors in the sky complimented the blue vast sea. Live music is performed by a singer. He is very talented and set the mood in the bar perfectly Wonderful place to chill and catch the sunset at the Leela

Visited their restaurant for an à la carte birthday dinner. Aside from the birthday cake, nothing was satisfactory. The non-veg dishes were stale and lacked flavor, while the veg options were somewhat better. The bread items were the worst I’ve ever had. Overall, it wasn’t even worth 20% of the money spent.

HaiL — Google review
My Disappointing Experience at The Leela Kovalam I have been observing this place for three seasons, and unfortunately, I can say that the quality of service here is not improving but getting worse. 1. The Beach My introduction to the hotel began with the beach, which they illegally call "private." It is important to note that private beaches do not exist in India – all beaches belong to the state and are open to everyone. However, the hotel staff shamelessly drive out locals and tourists, which is outrageous and unacceptable. India is known for its hospitality, where people are welcomed, not thrown out from a public place that no one truly owns. But if the hotel considers this beach to be “theirs,” then a logical question arises: why is it always covered in trash? Why does no one maintain it? Piles of plastic, litter, and seaweed—this is how the beach of a "5-star" hotel looks? Moreover, sewage flows directly into the sea, and the smell is unbearable. Do they really think this is acceptable for their guests? 2. The Tides Restaurant – Chaos and No Service The Tides Restaurant is a separate disaster. Booking a table there is nearly impossible. The staff simply ignores emails and requests, not even bothering to respond. Such behavior demonstrates complete unprofessionalism. When I finally managed to visit, I was deeply disappointed. Mediocre food that absolutely does not justify its price. Of course, the prices are high—it is a 5-star hotel—but that does not mean they can serve food that tastes like it came from a cheap street café. It feels like they are simply profiting off their name without making any effort to deliver quality. 3. The Sky Bar – Only a Nice View The only good thing about The Sky Bar is the beautiful view. But that is all. The sofas are covered in bird droppings, and it seems like no one has cleaned them for weeks. How can a 5-star hotel allow such a level of unsanitariness? The cocktails are just as mediocre as the food. The price-to-quality ratio is completely unjustifiable. 4. The Absolute Disrespect Toward People But the most disgusting and shocking thing is the service and attitude of the staff. I witnessed an absolutely disgraceful scene: a security guard with a stick refused to let an elderly woman use the toilet. The toilet! In any civilized country, any reputable restaurant or hotel allows visitors to use the restroom. But what is even more appalling is that in India—a country known for its incredible hospitality—I have never encountered a situation where security guards literally protect a toilet with a stick! This is beyond common sense. What kind of mindset do you need to have to think this is acceptable? I have visited this hotel’s restaurants and bars multiple times, including during the off-season, when they actually need customers. But after such disrespectful treatment of people, I will never set foot there again. Final verdict: terrible service, mediocre food, and a complete lack of basic respect for people. I strongly do not recommend the restaurant, the bar, or the hotel.

Amazing restaurant for seafood or traditional cuisine. We have eaten Keralan flavours here for dinner and today we had the most incredible seafood lunch. Sali is a friendly host and owner - and arranged for fresh lobster to be caught. 20 mins from the sea to our table being eaten!! Absolutely delicious and followed by a birthday cake for my husband which was a thoughtful touch. Views are amazing from the restaurant and team are welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area

So thankful that Sali stopped us on the small road and asked if we wanted to have lunch at their place. We decided to come with him. Happy for us! Amazing food, service and view. Thanks Sali for stoping us, we will come back, already tomorrow.

Park
Edakkallu Rock Garden is a beautiful place to visit, with impressive natural scenery and views of the ocean and the lighthouse nearby. However, some tourists abuse the cactus plants and rocks by writing their names on them, which is a violation of local laws. This park should be more popular as it offers great views for tourists without any interference from these individuals.
Very nice place to visit. I would call it a tourist hotspot. Great natural scenery with the majestic sea, dancing waves and the huge lighthouse nearby. But, yes I felt a bit disappointed on seeing the exploitation of the cactus plants and rocks by so-called civilised tourists. Seiously, people need to stop writing their names on any surface they find in a public place. That's straightaway a violation of laws as you are causing harm to a tourist spot which isn't a private property of yours.

During my recent adventure at Kovalam beach, I stumbled upon the delightful Sea Shore Restaurant, where I enjoyed a fantastic seafood lunch. Initially hesitant about the food quality and pricing, I was pleasantly surprised by the mouthwatering dishes and attentive service. The menu featured delectable options like prawn fry, crab roast, and fish fry paired with fried rice and naan roti—each bite was a treat!
More beautiful sea view restaurant, testy and delicious sea food available here. Very nice experience. All staff's are good character. Rooms are very clean family can enjoy with this property.

I recently dined here and ordered a 1kg grilled pomfret fish, which cost Rs. 1300. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The fish was undercooked, and it had a strong, unpleasant fishy smell, making it almost inedible. To add to the disappointment, they added a Rs. 50 service charge without informing us beforehand. When we inquired, they claimed it was a tip. The staff was rude ,unprofessional and unhelpful throughout the visit. Overall, the restaurant lacks the basic skill of cooking fish properly, and the customer service was equally poor. Having tried other restaurants in the area, I can confidently say they don’t know how to prepare seafood well. Would not recommend and give 0 star to this specific restaurant
Sikha M — Google review
They are fraudulent. Food quality is very much poor against the highly overrated price. We ordered 1 kg of Prawn curry & more than 1.1 kg of red sniper fish fry, but at the time of serving the food, they provided us much less quantity. They add more than 5% service charge in the bill, which was neither mentioned in the menu card nor they told before ordering. Staff behaviour is not good. Family should avoid this kind of restaurant. Not recommended at all.

My family and I had an amazing lunch experience at this place while exploring Kovalam beach. Despite some initial doubts about the food quality and prices, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious dishes, excellent service, and reasonable prices. While it wasn't the most budget-friendly option, considering the location and the usual high prices for seafood, it was definitely worth it. We had prawn fry, crab roast, and fish fry, accompanied by fried rice and naan roti. Although the fried rice was just okay, the seafood items were absolutely delightful.

Had a wonderful seafood lunch here. Visited in off season period. Staffs were so polite. Seating were simple in first floor with sea view. About the food, ordered Pomfret fish. They prepared head as curry and body as banana leaf packed fry. Yummy food. Added to it, their rice bowl. Was sufficient for 2 persons. Not so expensive. Must try.

Our first visit two weeks ago was very nice with good food and good service, but it seems the place hasn’t been cleaned since that day. The floor was very dirty today and the toilet very smelly. Also, the service was poor. So we paid and went to a better place.

Decent food.. Really liked their chilly fish and prawn fried rice.. The atmosphere is average.. you get a good sea view from the first floor but the beauty of which is spoiled by scattered electric lines over there... Wash area is very average with only one wash basin.. Service was good.. Since it is a hot tourist area, the price of the food is moderate..
Sangeetha A — Google review
Our dinner was a let down. We asked for a sea view table. The waiter said those tables are reserved. We were given a table in the second row. Until we finished out dinner and came out the table was still not taken. There was another table that got empty which we asked again turned down. See the photos. We ordered the fish in the entrance and went to get a table. If we had known they would not let us take the sea view table we would have gone to a different restaurant. Kovalam is about the ambience and experience. If it is only for food, there are several other options. Coming to food. The fish IMO was fairly priced for this location. We had a medium size red snapper fry costed RS. 600. Beef steak sizzler was not a steak this was RS. 450. It was beef cubes cooked in a sauce. Beef was pretty hard and not juicy. Price is little above average but justifiable for the location.

One can enjoy tea n snacks in the evening. It’s a good place to hangout with family and friends. And this restaurant is near the beach so one can have a view of the beach. But honestly the rates of the food are excessively high. And the food is not up to the mark. So if one doesn’t want to pay an excess amount on moderate quality of food then please think before you try this place. plus the restaurant starts getting closed around 9.30-ish so if you want to go at that place then order your food much before.

The name 'Suprabhatham' translates to 'good morning,' reflecting the restaurant's focus on breakfast offerings. Located near Lighthouse beach, it serves authentic Kerala cuisine throughout the day. The menu features a variety of local dishes at reasonable prices. Guests recommend trying the fruit plate, Kerala coffee, and vegetable meals with Kerala parotha.
We had a lovely meal at the restaurant. The dhal was nice but without any salt added. After adding some salt we fully enjoyed it. Paneer butter masala was very good. Didn't not like the Kerala parota but chapati was good. We really enjoyed our meal and now this place is one of the favorite places in Kovalam

Such a lovely experience behind the main street of the beach. Food is truly amazing with Kerala Specialities And the man who took care of us is simply a sweet heart.

In my opinion, it’s the best veg restaurant in Kovalam close to the beach, a bit hidden but easy to find. Once we came there, we’d have brunch and dinner there daily. Huge menu, reasonable prices, delicious NOT spicy food, fast service and very nice stuff. Portions are quite big (for a woman), therefore you can ask to have half of the portion. Absolutely recommend it!

The best restaurant in Kovalam! You must to go without exception! Unni is the guy will attend you and serving all of people! That's maybe the problem about 19pm that restaurant is always full and you can wait for your meal 1 or 1.30 hours. That's not problem of this kind guy but also the manager of this restaurant. You should try the fruit plate for starting your day, the kerala coffee (really good) and every vegetable meal with kerala parotha! Each veggie meal can be about 150-180-200 rps. I came that place every day in my stage in Kovalam ! Thank you for make happier my belly and my digestion!😀

It is my favorite restaurant in Kovalam: calm ,next to the ancient temple with a very friendly staff and delicious fresh food. I returned there nearly every day during my stay in Kovalam, for breakfast, lunch, diner. All was fresh, cooked on demand and tasty. I loved all the curries, dal, butter masala paneer, all types of veggies in different sauces. Indian breakfasts, including masala dosa and iddly are delicious. If you have a chance to have thali for lunch, don’t hesitate, it is a pleasure for your eyes and stomach! Kerala coffee is worth trying, it reminded me Turkish coffee, tasty! I appreciated everything: service, fresh ingredients, delicious food, very attentive personnel. Thank you 😊

Not easy to find this restaurant. There are only 2 vegan restaurants options on light house beach. This is one among them. So if you are vegan then you will thank God to find this place. The ambience is average, open space restaurant ranging from Indian, Asian to continental option. I found the response from the staff bit dull, when went for lunch it was just empty. So I was expecting they had all time and resource to provide service. The paneer pakoda was only good. We ordered potato gobi carry and mushroom masala. The taste was not good, even though one was ordered less spicy and another moderate. The French fries were not at all good, not boiled and cooked properly. The shapes were too big for it to cook we felt. I dropped my plan of trying something continental here later.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely superb, and the staff were incredibly nice and honest. Chef is very helpful in preparing food based on our customisation as well. I highly recommend this place for vegetarians as they have excellent options. It's a popular spot among foreigners too. You can find it on a small road between Silverstar Hotel and Light House Beach in Kovalam. Enjoy your visit!

Suprabhatham is an organic veg restaurant located in the end of one of the alleys opposite Kovalam beach. The restaurant is a little tricky to find if you don't find the correct alley. The afternoon we dined we had the whole place to ourselves which resulted in good service. We ordered Fried rice and Pakodas which are made to order and tasted quite good. The menu is pretty versatile catering to both the Indian and foreign crowds that throng the beach. Accepting cards or wallets in addition to cash could bring in more crowd. Dined in : Oct 2019
