Good temple specific for local rituals and culture. I visited the place as tourist, and couldn't understand what ritual were going on, where many devotees with small amount of boiled grains chanting mantras in group.

This temple is one of the oldest and most spiritually powerful temples I have visited. The deity here, Lord Parashuraman is truly divine and powerful - one can genuinely feel the positive energy and blessings upon entering the temple premises. The ancient & traditional architecture adds a classic charm, reflecting the deep-rooted heritage and devotion that this place holds. Every corner of the temple carries a sense of purity, faith, and calmness that touches the heart of every devotee. However, I would like to mention a concern regarding the Bali (ritual) procedures. During my visits, I felt that the poojaris inside the temple were performing the rituals in a bit of a hurry, without giving enough time or attention to make the karma feel complete and satisfying. As devotees, we come with deep faith & emotion, expecting peace and fulfillment after the rituals, but the hurried approach sometimes affects that spiritual satisfaction. It also feels like there is a greater focus on the dakshina (offerings) rather than on the emotional & spiritual connection of the devotees. Apart from that, the temple continues to be a truly divine and sacred place. The presence of the deity gives immense strength, hope, and inner peace. Despite the small concerns, I always feel blessed and spiritually recharged after visiting this temple. It remains a place of strong divine energy and faith that every devotee should experience at least once in their lifetime.

A serene and spiritually powerful temple dedicated to Lord Parashurama, located beautifully along the banks of the Karamana River. The calm atmosphere, traditional Kerala temple architecture, and the sacredness of the rituals performed here make it a must-visit for devotees and those seeking peace. It is believed to be the only major temple in Kerala dedicated to Lord Parashurama, and many people perform "bali" (ancestral offerings) here, especially during Karkidakam and Tharpanam days. The surroundings are clean and well-maintained. A truly divine experience and a great place to connect with Kerala’s spiritual and cultural roots.

This is supposedly the only temple dedicated to Lord Parasuram in Kerala one of the few in India. We visited the temple after coming from Sri Padmanabaswamy temple. It was based on South indian type of architecture and I felt a deep sense of calm and divinity. Taking photos inside is not allowed.

Heard as one of the most powerful dharga in kerela . For my mother's wish we went there . Building looked very beautiful. Very big dharga with pink colour painted. Was looking like small tajmahal. Not near to sea. Many people was worshiping. Bathroom available, small snack stalls available, plenty of parking available, small shop available for few islamic related things we can buy. I am not aware of history behind the dharga.dharga is not very clean but ok . Overall good experience good vibe .

Bheemapally Juma Masjid is a peaceful place to visit. In the evenings it gets crowded and the atmosphere is very lively with many food stalls and shops outside. The mosque has good parking space and is easily accessible by public transportation. Overall, it gives a sense of peace and calmness while visiting.”

Beemapally is one of the oldest mosque in Kerala. Although this is a Muslim mosque, people of any religion can come here at any time and enter into the mosque. This is also a tourist destination in Thiruvananthapuram. There is a tomb of an important scholar inside the mosque, and many rituals are performed there in related with this. One of the most famous mosques located near the coastal area of Trivandrum. It is different from other mosques. It is beautifully constructed and is light pink in colour. The Beemapally Dargah Shareef houses the tomb of Syedunnisa Beema Beevi. She is believed to have divine powers. It is recommended to visit the mosque mornings or evenings or as usual timings to pray. The mosque is famous for its annual Urus that is festivals to venerate Beema Beevi at which people from all customs and faiths jointly participate. The festival begins with the hoisting of the flag of the mosque. During the festivals many programmes like Islamic devotional songs, Duff muttu etc are also conducted. The Chandanakudam Mahotsavam marks the end of the festival at which the flag from the Beema Beevis grave is taken and a grand procession of elephants along with the panchavadyam music takes place. The panchavadyam includes Timila, Maddalam, Ilathalam, Kombu and Idakka. The mosque environment is maintained well. It is just 5-6 kilometres away from the Thampanoor or Thiruvananthapuram City. The mosque was built in the 1960s and completed with nearly 18 years of construction which made it an architectural marvel. There are also many small shops for food and toys nearby which can be utilised by the visitors to buy toys and all for the children. Thus during the next visit to Trivandum one can visit the place and see it.

Beemapally is a famous mosque and shrine near Thiruvananthapuram. It is known for its annual Uroos festival, where people from different communities visit. The place has strong cultural and spiritual significance, but the area around can get very crowded, especially during festivals.

Went to check out the Kerala Arts and Science place recently and honestly, it was decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but still worth a visit if you’re nearby. First off, it’s a pretty cool initiative by the government, so props for that. The space is neat, well-organized, and has a pleasant vibe. You can easily spend 2–3 hours there exploring different exhibits. Definitely not boring. One thing I liked the staff at the counters are super helpful. They explain everything in detail and make sure you’re not lost or confused. That kind of guidance makes a big difference. Also they have parking it’s kinda expensive for what it is. Like, not crazy outrageous, but still feels a bit overpriced for a government-run spot. Could’ve been more budget-friendly, especially if you’re going with family. It’s ok-ok overall. Nice initiative, chill atmosphere, helpful staff… but a bit too pricey for what you get. it’s a good one-time experience.

Happy to have discovered this gem of a place in Trv, beautifully made ,perfect for the arts and crafts stalls, everything blends in so well. Thr grounds are neatly done giving very aesthetic and kerala vibes. The sunset point can be a perfect spot. Hope they do more to bring out all the potential . You can buy various products and also see how they are made.

A premium entertainment destination at a picturesque location near Kovalam. We visited this place with our club members. Smt. Athira, our guide from KACV was a friendly lady. She guided us from one place to another. Tourists from outside the state of Kerala and foreigners will find this place enchanting, though it is equally refreshing for the residents of Thiruvananthapuram. If you choose this location, preferably go on a weekend to enjoy their sumptuous buffet lunch. We Melodies Music & Dance, Kannamoola would definitely recommend this place for a one day trip to Kovalam side . One shortcoming was the absence of eV charging points. At least they could have provided sockets for customers with electric vehicles on chargeable basis.

True to its name, this village is dedicated to traditional arts and crafts of Kerala. It is a well designed and maintained property to bridge the gap between the craftsmen and the visitors. It is filled with different types of crafts divided into multiple segments and displayed over a vast area. There is ample parking space and a restaurant with traditional kerala cuisine. One needs to purchase tickets to visit this place and the display seems to be costly but they are worth it for the product. The cherry on the top is it's less crowded to experience it in whole at our pace.

The surroundings are well-maintained, with greenery all around, and there’s a calm vibe that makes it perfect for a slow stroll. There’s also a craft shop if you want to take something home, and a decent café to relax in.

It's Heaven 😍😍. At least once in your life you should come and visit this beach. It's very neat and one thing you should be cautious about is the jelly fish which the fishermen threw on the beach so beware of it. The Color of the water which is very attractive , eye-catching and stunned 😳.

A decent Beach, ample parking space, is sufficiently clean. Have options to get light foods nearby. Not too deep so kids can also enjoy. This is the easily accessinle beach at Kovalam.

We visited Grove Beach in Kanyakumari during heavy rains, and the experience was both thrilling and mesmerizing. The sea waves were high, and the water had risen so much that it was touching the walls near the road. 🌊🚧

No longer a beach thanks rise in sea levels and coastal erosion, however still a photo worthy location at Kovalam. As a local have seen over the years of this gradual change, makes us wonder on the impact of climate change.

There has been a sea erosion happening and the shore sand has reduced a lot. Initial water is steep and somewhat uneven. Be careful. Haggle as much as you can with the speed boad ride providers. They come from 3000 to 2000 for the longest trip they have to offer.

This beach is not good for swimming. There are not much life guard staffs available. We could see only one even when sea was rough. Bath facilities not available when we visited..

Nice experience to have the journey, but the tourists are looted when one litre petrol is enough for the vessel to have the whole extravaganza. For two persons you have to pay 5000 rupees. But the people are well behaved and they know how to do business.

Had dinner at Tides and was amazing. The food was delicious and being out on the beach with the breeze was spectacular. It’s a must go if you’re in the area!

Went there with colleagues for company get together and dinner with our CEO. It was a very beautiful place and nice atmosphere and experience. Very calm. But I won't say the food was exceptional. It wasn't that kind of a 5 star experience. Just some fine dining experience. But still I liked it.

Beautiful setting at the sea shore with private beach . The staff was friendly though the cost of food and beverage is on the higher side is a place to visit . We enjoyed the view and the bite . The beer was chilled and awesome but the experience was impacted as the quality of wine was awful. Sediments in the bottle and after the staff saw that they gave us a bad wine to charge us for it was not acceptable so I would say that was disappointing. To all wine drinkers avoid this restaurant rather have a beer .

Waste of time. Discrimination towards bikers. Traveled from trivandrum to this restaurant. I went to dine in my bike and they told bikes are not allowed. Told us to park the bikes outside. Only cars are allowed inside. Very sad and disheartening. I have to pay so much for the food but they don't allow my bike to be parked.

This is a lovely place for you if you want to have a lunch facing the pristine Kovalam beach …ideal for romantic couples, quiet family lunch …the sea definitely calms things down for you …the cuisine is pan Asian which includes Chinese Thai and Japanese …I would say Thai dominated the options …ordered fried rice , jasmine rice and Thai red curry in addition to Tom Yam soup …all the preparation did justice to the Thai cuisine …Hospitality shown by Mr Sujit is really praise worthy…Mr Pascal who is the chef of the cuisine paid a visit to ensure he gets a first hand feedback of the awesomeness he gives to the plate …overall a must visit if you’re on for a luxurious date in Trivandrum

Very bad. They don't allow bikers. Discrimination by Tides. These kind of behavior is unacceptable by Leela group. Lot of price for the food but we have to park the bike outside? What is the problem? You need the money from our pockets but no equality?? Nonsense

We had seen reviews of this place for lobsters. Though we were not in a mood but this is the closest place from Leela palace and we wanted to eat out. The place is good, the owner is very polite. We ordered Butterfish fried and beer. It was pretty good. The Chicken curry was average .Being a Monday afternoon I guess not many people visit the place so it took a bit of time to prepare dishes but they seemed fresh and served hot and we were not in a rush. The view from the restaurant was relaxing. I am sure sunset would have looked amazing from there!

We were pleasantly surprised to see this restaurant open in this off season when all restaurants are closed. The owner was warm and prepared a great meal for us. We tried butter garlic prawns, Gobi manchurian, fries and fried rice. The food was well done and tasty. We also got chilled beer here that was icing on the cake. The rates are reasonable and portion quite large. The cleanliness could be better possibly because of lack of staff. The view from this place is awesome. We really enjoyed our meal and some peaceful time by the sea.

My son and myself had two meals at the Lobster Pot, one was Snapper and Tiger Prawns with chips and salad and the other was Lobster with chips salad and bread. Both were delicious and the best seafood we had in India. The manager, Swayaraj made sure we had a great experience. The view is fantastic, I would highly recommend!

It's a quiet little restaurant with a stunning view of the Arabian Sea. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the ambience is amazing. This was our go-to place for our meals during our short visit to Kovalam. We really loved the Calamari and the Meen Pollichathu. The prawn masala and fish fry were good too. The location is not very accessible by vehicles. You need to climb up a small hill from the beach road. It was convenient for us as we were staying in the homestay behind this restaurant. The lack of accessibility makes it a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy your food while watching the sea.

Incredible food. Got the seafood platter, everything was phenomenal. The setting of the restaurant is unique, it's on a cliff with direct views of palm trees and the sea below. The restaurant is a bit of a hike, need to plan well to get there. Highly recommend getting a 2-way taxi so you have a car for return.

The view from this restaurant is amazing. It looks over a small path that goes one to the beach. We came here for an evening snack of pakora and tea but stayed for dinner since the view of the sunset was really nice. We ordered Kerala parota, grilled king fish, prawn curry. The parota was nice and so was the king fish. The prawn curry was ordered based on the chefs recommendation. It was spice heavy and over cooked. We did not have much of it. I wanted to order some curry and the chef made it as though he was not interested to take our order. He said everything will take 30 more minutes. He seemed to give more attention to white tourists than Indians.

I recently stayed at this lovely cottage, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The place itself was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained, ideal for a relaxing getaway. The rooms were spotless, the surroundings were serene, and every little detail made the stay extra special. A special mention to Akhilesh for his exceptional hospitality, he was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The rest of the staff were equally polite, professional, and made sure everything went smoothly. Their good behavior and genuine care truly made me feel at home. I was passing by this place and that’s when I saw the board for Molly’s retreat. I decided to go inside for food and it was the best impromptu meal I had in Kovalam. The staff (specially Seema and Amira) were super friendly and were really accommodating of all the requests. I also got to see the rooms. The food was amazing and the place has such a nice vibe. One must visit and stay here if you are in Kovalam.

Everything about the hotel felt high-quality and well cared for. The only slight letdown was the food—it was decent but didn’t quite match the excellence of the rest of the experience. Still, I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

We had an amazing time in mollys retreat. We were a group of 8 people and we took a cottage and a room. It's a very nice place , fully in nature and close to the beach.its a great place for get togethers and parties.Will recommend for get togethers

It was truly an amazing experience staying here. The location is on spot with a beach at 5mins walk. The staffs are very pleasing , polite , Kind and approachable, quick to work they made sure that we felt at home. The swimming pool was very clean and the water had less chlorine perfect for swimming. Best choice made to stay here.

Great food, we had banana wrapped fish, grilled tiger prawn, chilli fish, banana wrapped prawn masala. We took suggestions from them and great recommendation. They showed us the fish before cooking which was great.

For us it was the first time dinner together, and for that this is the perfect spot you could ever find , we spent more than two hours just enjoying the view together, best place for a sunset dinner i would say , it was our first time together in a moment like that and this was her choice and i would say nothing could've been more perfect,

We had dinner at Sea Gull a couple times while in Kovalam and loved it both times. We had some amazing seafood curries and really good vegetarian options. The location is great right on the beach and Shaji is a fantastic host. Absolutely come here if you're around Kovalam.

This is a little gem of a restaurant. Today's catch of tiger prawns and snapper cooked to perfection. we had ours cooked to a European palette of tomato and garlic butter, just wonderful. The owner is a lovely gentleman. The setting on the sea front with the uninterrupted view made the evening.

There’s a lovely clock tower inside — definitely visit it, because from the top you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire area. Inside the dam premises, there’s also a Milma ice cream parlour, a café, and a canteen that serves good meals. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature! 🌿🍦

I am giving 4 star as its good but has potential to be great. Neyyar Dam, nestled in the Western Ghats about 30 km from Thiruvananthapuram, offers a peaceful escape into nature. The dam is surrounded by forested hills and a vast reservoir that glows beautifully in the evening light. A walk through the nearby park or simply sitting by the water feels calming. The boat ride across the reservoir adds a touch of adventure, taking you to the Lion Safari Park and Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre. While these spots may not be high-end, they offer a raw and unique experience, especially for families or first-time visitors. Neyyar isn’t about grand sights or adrenaline; it’s about pausing, watching, and breathing. It’s best visited on a weekday for a quieter experience. There are limited food options, so carrying your own snacks and water is a good idea. If you’re looking for a simple, refreshing day surrounded by nature, Neyyar Dam is well worth a visit. During monsoon this place offers a completely different experience than that of the summer. Facilities are mostly minimal and the central view tower definitely needs some better management. Also thats the same situation of the parks, can be maintained well, with proper land management and maintenance. If you are someone who enjoys a view its a great place. There is also a KTDC restaurant right next to the dam. I hope they have accommodation facilities too as they had a decent menu. Prices seemed reasonable and can be subjective. There is also an aquarium that has a ton of fish species, and there are some giants too, giants in a sense as if they weigh over 50kgs. It has a seperate ticket counter. I believe it was the first fish aquarium in india or asia. The lighting and interior ambience during monsoon is very dull and moody, but i hope it will be better during the summer. The structure is also comparatively better considering a public building, its not great in terms of aesthetics but is definitely good in terms of flow, movement and exhibit placement. I liked that one. It also has some huge ponds outside the building close to its perimeter that has some large koi fishes. Overall a good place for a one day trip, and it’s always better to visit and leave early. Check with the authorities for official timings.

Neyyar dam situated in Agasthya peak ( AgasthyaMala). Here we can go for boating to lion safari park. But now lion is not there,i think lion died last year (2024) we can see bear there. Went nearby Vellayani lake,it's a good spot for scenic beauty and there are fishing spots.People get organic vegetables and fruits on the way to the lake and also fish shops are also available.

One of the best place in trivandrum to experience the evening vibe and sunset. You can see the the view from main road itself, but you can also walk to to the side roads to experience the complete beauty of this place. You can buy fresh fish also from here. Currently boating is not available. You can either come to this place though your own vehicle or public transport like KSRTC bus. There is no dedicated parking space but you can park your vehicles near to this site. Safe swimming spaces are there in the lake. I think government can make this place as a main tourist attraction in Trivandrum, by providing public toilets and parking kind of facilities.

Great place to spend weekends. Ig you're coming here for fishing, you'll most probably go back home disappointed. Come here, get some fresh air, enjoy the serenity. That's all about this place.

When I visited around 1 PM, I was the 3rd person on the day to visit it. People who know about it only visit there.

I visited here once when it was inaugurated. It was a beautiful ecosystem for marine life. Fish were lively with a lot of corals. Now due to lack of maintenance/ negligence it’s completely in shabby. Most of the tanks have dead fishes. Almost all corals are dead. Most fishes are in very bad shape. It’s heart breaking. Has place to park the car on the road. Vizhinjam port and light house is also nearby.

I honestly don’t know what to comment. I was truly disappointed after visiting the famous Vizhinjam Aquarium, a place I had longed to see since childhood. Today’s visit felt like a mistake—I wish I had postponed it and kept the beautiful image alive in my heart. Sadly, the aquarium has fallen below even the standards of Neyyar Aquarium. Please, do something—just a little effort could make it so much better.

This place is very fabulous with a wide variety of marine species which we saw many types for the first time including the sea turtle and other different fishes.place is easy to locate and just 50 something for the ticket I think and the place is totally worth for marine and fish lovers

I visited the aquarium on a Sunday and still it was not that frowned. There weren't many fishes on display but it was good count altogether. My 2 year old daughter enjoyed it and so it was worth it. :-)

My dad took me here a while back, and I thought it was just a regular aquarium with some fish and sea creatures. But I was completely wrong. Inside, there are so many different species to explore, making it a fascinating experience. Outside, we also saw a small shark, several adorable turtles, and some big fish. I recently visited this place, and while the view was stunning, the service left much to be desired. It was evident that the staff prioritized foreigners over locals, which was disappointing and discriminatory. The waiter attending to us didn’t take our order properly. I ordered pasta and cold coffee, but even after we finished the pasta, there was no sign of the coffee. When we enquired, we realized the waiter had either forgotten or ignored the order. The pasta sauce was excellent, probably the highlight of the meal, even though the pasta itself wasn’t remarkable. However, the cold coffee was extremely bitter and unpleasant. Overall, the location and view are fantastic, but the service and attention to detail need serious improvement.

One of the worst food I ever had. Zero flavour profile! Drinks, main dish sandwich all were underwhelming and a big let down. The view is really good and coffee is decent and the service is on time and fast but the main item aka the food is horrible. Avoid the place if you love your taste buds because the dishes and drinks are picturesque but not palatable.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the calm ambiance by the ocean.

Breakfast with a view! Visited German Bakery in Kovalam — the location is stunning, overlooking the lighthouse and the beach. Tried the waffle and egg sandwich; both were decent, but nothing extraordinary. Cold coffee didn’t impress. Overall vibe is great for mornings, but the food was average. Rating: 3/5.

The sunset view is awesome. Too costly, especially given the food isn't great. Hated the farmer's breakfast - felt too much like an Indian dish. The French toast was the worst I have had. Fish fingers was okay.

A Proper Breakfast spot in Kovalam Beach. it serves American Bf, Spanish Bf, German Bf, Seafood Bf and other varieties. Very beautiful view of Arabean Sea. Ambience is neat and clean. their cakes are must try. They have a vast menu offering wide varieties of cusines and recipies. A must try place for foodies. they also serve beer and has a smoking area. They serve food freshly prepared and served hot. Rates are on a higher side but the quality is really appreciated. Must visit Cafe.

Food is always very tasty. We had fried calamari, egg fried rice and fried eggplant slices. All very good.

Nested in the middle of the streets, this place has a history attached to its heritage. You'll see pictures and history of Kovalam attached to the wall. Must see as they give an insight of the whole area and history. It is a lovely sit out restaurant - cafe with excellent views of the lighthouse beach. One of my favourite spots to sit and relax while you munch on mouthwatering food and drinks. Afternoons are the best to relax under the shade when the sun is at its peak and your steps away from the Arabian Sea. Banana leaf fish and Fish and chips are highly recommended. Keep this as one of your places to visit.

Ate here several times in late September and always enjoyed coming back. They serve a pretty broad variety of food, both Indian and Western. Definitely the best coffee on the beach too. Perfect to grab one of the tables on the front side of the terrace and watch the boardwalk down below as the sun sets in broad view.

Absolutely fantastic view of the beach as u have a bit or sip your drink! The different kinds of tea available, Masala/ mint/ lemon, are all superb. The staff are courteous & above all the rates of such delicious items is most reasonable. Would strongly recommend their dishes/beverages!

The food here is not at all worth the money. We tried french toast, cheese omelettes, special breakfast and bunch of juices. Well, you really can't mess up eggs, so that was fine but apart from that, everything else was absolute rubbish. French toast tasted like toasted bread with cashews on top

Visit for the view, not the food. Ordered some sandwiches - veg & non veg. The breads for both these sandwiches were hard as brick. I kid you not, but those were harder than rusk. Literally had to eat the filling and leave the rest. Banana split was ok. Nothing special. Great view, good service.

I don't recommend the beef. I got food poisoning from a burger I ate there 2 weeks ago. That was my second visit since the first time I had butter chicken and that was delicious. The burger was also overpriced for the very small size. It was in between the size of an appetizer slider and regular burger. The menu said it comes with fries. They served 4 small potato wedges. Service is slow. There are young servers who barely speak English. One young boy who works there is shy and doesn't come by to check on you. I really like the restaurants layout and decor. The vibe is good. The food and service needs improvement. If it wasnt for the butter chicken I would've given 2 stars overall.

We were here a good time, the ambience is good and peaceful, beer is bad and and we have ordered a chicken fried rice that was also bad. I expected a little more food quality here. From the outside, it looks inviting—the whole café is designed with wooden interiors, giving it a rustic feel, and the seating arrangement is comfortable enough to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. On ambience and location, the café scores well. Now, coming to the food—this is where things fell apart for me. We were two people, and we ordered: • Margherita Pizza (₹600) – Honestly, a big disappointment. The flavor was flat, the texture was off, and it didn’t taste like something worth even ₹200. If I had to rate it, it would be a minus one out of five. • Vegetable Sandwich (₹300) – Decent, I’d give it a three out of five. The sandwich itself was average, but the potato wedges served alongside were actually the star of the meal—crispy, seasoned well, and easily a five on five. The major downside? The pricing. We ended up paying around ₹1,100 for just these two items and left neither full nor satisfied. For that cost, the food should’ve been far more flavorful and substantial. What I did like, though, was the service. The staff were polite, attentive, and kept checking if we needed anything else. Can you also emphasize that Swedish guests have priority in case of errors such as e.g. double bookings? And, isn't it time that the company is presented in sales channels with honest images, not past glossy images? Finally, my best advice: When the cause of problems that arise lies in the lack of professionalism and competence, do not transfer the blame to your guests. Never use disrespectful treatment as a means of getting rid of guests who can both document a confirmed reservation and have also paid for their stay!

The food here is great. The dishes are flavorful enough to intrigue your taste buds. The price isn't too high, it's alright. The waiters are friendly and offer great service and food recommendations. We saw this place was highly rated on Trip Advisor and walked about 3km from the place where we stayed, so that we do not miss this. However, we were let down with the overall experience that we had. Firstly, the service took forever. We had to wait atleast 10 min to catch the attention of the people out there, at any point in time. The first food item arrived almost 45min from the time we ordered, and the second item after about 1hr 15min. However, we had time and were patient enough to try out the food, as that's what we had come there for. The food did not taste good either. The cheese on the pizza tasted old. One of the shakes that we ordered was not thick at all (was very watery). We were on a 4 day trip to Kerala, and this was the only blot on our entire experience.

We had one dinner and one lunch there and we really enjoyed food ans staff. The restaurant is very clean and the staff friendly. It's a nice place to taste good seafood on a roof top with seaview. The fresh fruit juices are homemade. We highly recommend this Bistro either for just a drink or to eat

A restaurant at the Light House Beach, Kovlam-close to operational Light House side, mainly serves sea food items with very limited options for vegetarians. A rural-urban ambience, 3 story restaurant has ample shed type seating and open kitchen by the side of seating area. As the owner admitted, the stuff served is more suitable to Europeans and other Westerners tastes/styles than Indians, however, they can serve Indian tastes as well! The food was average, as per my Indian Standards, and priced well. Service takes little time. Cleanliness/hygiene very average. Dingy poor toilet conditions.... but appears the restaurant is cozy with the business they are getting.

Excellent food, attentive service. Best meal we have had this holiday, fish Mollie & coronation chicken. Excellent strong beer (described as pop juice on the bill of course). Clean handwash with soap & towel. Clean toilet (first I have seen with toilet roll). We'll be back.

The most favorite place I stayed in two months traveling throughout Asia! I absolutely cannot recommend Anitha's enough. Yousuf is a dream of a host; he is warm, friendly, and a great guide to the area, as well. The restaurant is also fabulous, the coffee was delicious every day and I enjoyed sitting and watching the waves and tourists while eating or drinking my coffee. I am hopeful to return in the near future!

DONT STAY! Worst hotel! Very dirty! They don’t even wash the bed sheets, there was someone ones hair on the bed when we went, I fell sick that night because the AC filter wasn’t changed and I got infected, been three days and I’m still sick, better to sleep on the road at night but not this place!

Worst hotel of my entire life. Room having very bad smell. Seepage all around the wall. All wooden work having small insect. Service is zero , very non hygienic. Even after booking breakfast we have not taken because of poor house keeping. Rest all photo will brief you. Better sleep along roadside than sleeping in this type of hotel.

Receptionist was welcoming and polite. However we had a bitter experience with the restaurant staff. We parked the car in front of the hotel as we were staying there. The restaurant staff came and abused us for parking there. He thought we parked the car there and went outside for food. When we conveyed that we are staying in the hotel he just left without even apologizing fot the filthy language he used. No professionalism from the part of restaurant management also for extending an apology. Never coming back

The room are big and spacious. Food is good and affordable. The services are good. The place is near Kovlam beach in the main city. The service is available 24×7.. The rooms are named after a definite type of spice. The view from the balcony is awesome too. Good for family stays as well as business trip stays(has a co-operate atmosphere). The restaurant on the third floor is delightful too.

Posting a late review. Visited the center last month in September. The masseur was very professional and friendly. He gave enough time for the entire massage. I dont prefer AC, but natural open air. He kindly accepted to move to a room of my preference that had more natural light and fresh air. It was a nice windy morning, the massage felt so amazing in an airy room on the terrace. He made sure the massage was professional throughout. I was really happy with his service, and the setup. I would definitely come back again.

I had such a great experience with this surf club! The instructors were super patient and genuinely caring. You can really feel that they want you to learn and enjoy every moment in the water. The Best surf school in Kerala southern Indian, Kovalam surf club which gave you the best surfing experience and knowledge about it. (Good experience instructors) I my self have been a student from a long time, and experiencing surfing with good friends and nice waves 🌊

We had a great surf lesson with the Kovalam Surf Club! As beginners, the instructor was very helpful, patient and really flexible with us. We had so much fun and absolutely enjoyed the experience! 10/10 absolutely recommend!

Very bad experience. If possible , surf at Pondicherry , many professional surf clubs there. The instructor conducted the sessions on waves higher than 7ft. For someone who doesn’t know swimming / terrified of the sea was hell traumatic. The instructor stated that the fins of the board will be destroyed on shallow water so can’t help. Don’t water your money on this place.

Kovalam Surf Club is a mission based organisation to bring surfing for the benefit of the poor. I have taken over 7 days of classes and this review is based on my experiences. The surf club offers lessons for learner’s of all stages and rents boards as well. The club is mostly used by foreign tourists but is open to everyone. I took classes alongside learner’s from Germany and US. We had boys and girls as well learning surfing here. Shah, Kannappa and Akhil are trainers currently on rolls and are experienced surfers with training on life guard skills. Shah is the most experienced of the trio and a great teacher. The money that you pay for a lesson (1500Rs for a private lesson for 1.5 hours) goes to benefit the community school project that is run by the SISP foundation to give local school dropouts a free second chance at education. The ethos of the surf school “No school, No Surf” was laid in 2005-06 by Ela from Belgium who came to volunteer at SISP and started giving free surf lessons to students who attended all five days of school. The waves/swell at Kovalam are different every day and based on the conditions, the instructor would choose a point near the light house or at a point in the long beach which is suitable. Mornings are generally the best time to surf with less wind. There is a group of surfers who come regularly on evenings to surf during sunset. The depth of sea is also not deep and is sure beginner friendly. Don’t forget to bring your shorts to the class. Enjoy the beach with a safe surfing lesson 🏄‍♂️

A great beach to watch the beautiful sunset. We’ve also witnessed fishermen’s catch using dragnets in the morning. That was awesome!

I liked the food here very much. Their items are very good and unique. I ate chicken. I ate cumin rice and mushroom soup. I could not take a photo of the plate but its view and the food are very good. The price is a little high. Usually wherever you go in Kovalam, the price is a little high because it is on the witch side. That is why the food is very good. The service is also very good. The view of the beach is also good. If it was a little pocket friendly, it would have been very great.

Malabar Café has become one of my favourite places in the Lighthouse Beach area. It is small and cosy with a fine view of the beach. Also, there's a nice breeze from the ocean that feels comfortable in the hot daytime sunshine. The food is good, and the service normally comes with positive attention and smiles. After a few visits, especially Shaji remembers your favourites of dishes and drinks.

Had lunch and dinner both in this beach side restaurant. Had Dal Fry,Chicken Masala and Kadai Fish and Steamed Rice in lunch and fish curry and dry chilli chicken and butter naan in dinner. Every dish was delicious. Among them Kadai Fish was the star item which was served in a sizzling kadai. Only Butter Naan was not upto the mark. Staffs are well behaved. They accept cash,card and GPay.

This place is the most crowded and happening restaurant in Kovalam Beach. Most of the tables will be occupied by foreigners however I haven't observed any preferences given towards them. So I can propose that this restaurant is equally good for foreigners and Indian citizens as well. Sea foods are the most sorted out dishes in the menu, you can try some of the dishes with prawns which was excellent. Even their breakfast menu seems to be ok. Being Indian I wanted some extra spices in all my food I ordered and the staffs where happy to understand my taste and serve me well. During my stay at Kollam I had visited this restaurant 5 to 6 times and never had any unsatisfying experience. Hence I would suggest that if you are planning to visit Kovalam please try to visit this restaurant once and share your experience.

Hello everyone. My family for several years, come to Kerala, to Kovalam beach. And during this time we visited many institutions, cafes and restaurants, but the Hindustani restaurant, in our opinion, is the best. Very tasty and varied dishes. Very clean and comfortable. Very high quality service, and respectful and friendly attitude to visitors.

Don’t be fooled by the side alley location! Had a few meals here in late September and everything was delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and served with a smile. If you have questions about unfamiliar dishes, don’t hesitate to ask and the staff will happily explain to help you make a choice. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick bite in between.

The food is authentic and the taste is great. They provide nice portions and the cost is very light on your pocket. Go to this very clean and family run restaurant for the real taste of hindustani cuisine located at light house beach in Kovalam.

During our visit to Tamil Nadu and Kerala, we mostly had south indian food. When we reached our last destination, Kovalam, we were in search of some good north indian food. While searching, we came across Hindustani Pure Vegetarian Restaurant and i must say the food here was very delicious and the place was very hygienic. The owners of this place were very warm and the ambiance was very homely. We had all our meals at this restaurant till the time we stayed at Kovalam. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all those who are in search of some great North Indian food in Kovalam.

Good food and good service. Had the prawn fry and fish in banana leaf. Tasty food and at a reasonable price. General vibe of the place was not amazing - lots of tourists and Michael Jackson on repeat on the speaker, but overall a good experience.

We visited in off season so it was almost empty. But food and staff excellent. They arranged crab on our request.Prices on higher side like all kovalam eateries. We had seafood cocktail ,fish moilee(white coconut milk gravy) prawn fries and it was excellent. Typical beach shack ambience.

Good seafood and very accommodating staff. We had 3 grilled fish served with chips, prawn noodles, chicken spring roll, butter chicken, 2 naan bread, 3 lime sodas, 3 beers, 3 rice puddings and 2 coconut pudding with ice cream and the bill was only 4000+ rupees. Staff was friendly and the ambience was good for a relaxing meal by the beach. Worth the walk there. We went again the next day and we had lobsters, mussels, jumbo prawns and the seafood platter. It was stunning!

I visited here some 4 years ago pre covid and the place was hot and happening with great waiters. Now it has gone bonkers. Some uncles run the restaurant and they have no regards for the customer. They just dont listen to anything. The food is so below average. We ordered Chilli Chicken and it was just Chicken Pakoda dipped in soya sauce and raw vegetables. No one attends to you or listens to you even if they are by your side.

From the outside it looks really nice and clean, but the insides are so messy and dirty. The vanilla milkshake with ice cream was really good, but then again the glass was dirty, which is never a good sign. The tables and chairs weren't really clean either and the place we took was really stinking, which is why we couldn't order food to eat even though we had entered to eat something. It was a total turn off, considering there's barely any customers, they could have used that time to clean up and mainten the place.

Believe the other negative reviews , The Malayalam people here are extremely arrogant,they are not warm as if they are God or something doesn't bother to greet or smile ,serves and stares very rudely. Now talking about the food, it is unnecessarily costly just like their behaviour they feel like they aren't really serving but doing some kindness to us. Extremely dirty and smelly atmosphere. Just don't choose this no matter what.

Popular for their seafood speciality in Kovalam. The restaurant is housed under Taj Resort and is open to both residents & non-residents. Perched between the sea and the lagoon, it offers a fabulous view and ambience of dining by the sea. There is a private beach access from the restaurant too, but it's usually advised not to venture in as the tide can be strong. The food is delicious, we ordered grilled sea crabs in a traditional kerala style preparation. The service was a bit slow but the overall experience is worth the while. Prior reservation recommended.

Bait is hands down one of the best beachside dining experiences in Trivandrum. We ordered the Seafood Sampler, Lamb Pepperoni Pizza, and Classic Crème Brûlée—and every single dish was superb. As the other reviews say… a tranquil evening spent while watching the sunset and enjoying the sound of waves splashing among the well maintained lawns. The service was top notch, a special thanks to Mr Jyoti and Mr Suman for making sure we were well taken care of. Food was scrumptious, we are vegetarians and although it says famous for sea food… we had more than plenty of options to choose from and worth the price. Last but not the least- shout out to their celebratory chocolate cake- we had to eat inspite of being full. Amazing

Beautiful! Scenic! Brilliant food! We had a wholesome experience at this seafood restaurant of the Taj Kovalam which is very picturesque and calming. On arrival through the narrow lanes overlooking the backwater’s, You are greeted by the wonderful team, Mr. Clifton was very kind and made sure we were seated comfortably, he went out of the way to serve us the most delectable food and even surprised us with a personalised birthday cake. Love the place, food and service. Brilliant!

Great dining experience that combines a fantastic location, good food and great service. Went for a dinner with family, we felt like we understood what we were paying for. (Clifton and Manas provided excellent service) We had the sea food sampler, french fries and the seafood nachos, all were really good. Even though they officially open for dinner at 7, they accommodated us from 6 15 itself. The views in the walk from the parking to the restaurant were stunning.

The location is amazing, and the service, but being a keralite, i must say the food is dissatisfying, you get much better sea food elsewhere. I will not recommend this place for those looking for a dine out. 3000+ per person is purely unjustified, except for the location. Also they serve only beer and whine, they bluffed us claiming they serve ‘drinks’ while booking the table.

Samudra Beach in Kovalam is a peaceful, secluded beach and park offering picturesque scenery, sunset views, and opportunities for water sports, photography, and local fishing activities. While there may not be a formal park with a separate entrance, it provides a serene alternative to the more crowded Kovalam beaches, featuring a beautiful coastal landscape with a retaining wall for access. Visitors should be aware of strong currents, so swimming is not recommended.

This place has good privacy. You can spend a good evening here. Sunset is eye catching also the restaurant provide candle light dinner. So you can eat while enjoying the beach. Highly recommended place near kovalam. Good for photoshoot also.

This beautiful mosque is located on the seashore of Kovalam Beach, near Thiruvananthapuram. It very clean and neatly maintained. The tourists visiting Kovalam Beach can make use of this mosque for offering their prayer on time. Even ladies can use this for offering prayer.

This was such an amazing experience! Since it was fresh water, the team explained very clearly beforehand that the environment was man-made, with objects and fish placed inside, and that visibility at a distance might not be very clear. I really appreciated this honesty, as I was mainly here to experience breathing under water — and I absolutely did! Everything was very well organized. The declaration I signed was clear, and they encouraged me to take my time and read it thoroughly, which gave me a lot of confidence. The sales representative explained everything upfront, the instructor who briefed us at the beginning set the right expectations, the photographer captured wonderful moments, and the whole team was supportive throughout. A special mention to the dive master — he was truly outstanding. Patient, calm, and constantly checking if I was okay at every stage. Whenever we went deeper, he reminded me to hold my nose, helped adjust my mask whenever I felt pressure, and guided me with so much care. I fully trusted him, stayed cooperative, and never complained — which made the whole experience even smoother and more enjoyable. We managed to go all the way down to 12 meters, and I was able to breathe under water for 40 whole minutes — something I will never forget. It was a real wow moment for me, and I’m so grateful to the team for making it possible. The videos with the original water and breathing sounds make you feel so alive. Even if the video itself isn’t crystal clear, just listening to the sound of the breath, the water, and the bubbles feels like meditation. It’s incredibly calming and a beautiful memory to take away. I decided to write this in detail because I had read some negative reviews. But honestly, my experience was wonderful, and I feel it’s something people should try themselves rather than be put off. Bond safari is the most reputed center for scuba diving in kovalam.. We had a great experience under water. People here are so friendly and helpful. I had my tension on how to breathe under water as it was my first experience. But with proper sessions and support, everything went smoothly. Photos could have been a little better underwater. Anyways great experience.

I recently completed my PADI Open Water Diving Certification with Bond Safari Kovalam, and it was an amazing experience! 🌊🐠 From starting as a complete beginner to gaining confidence and skills underwater, the training was excellent. Very nice experience with Bond Safari scuba diving group. All the staff including office staff, the old aunty who gave us scuba attire and the instructor Dev was really great . Absolute destination for fun and deep sea thrill. The team took very good care of my kids. Elder one 15 years old did scuba dive and younger one 9 years did snorkel dive. I recommend Bond safari.

Crowded place,peak time 10 to 11am. Fish and vegetables available. Not that much hygiene which also can't be expected. Prices are comparatively high. Don't expect Parking facilities.

Nice place for vegetarian food. There is no other place in the vicinity which is only vegetarian. Food is good & tasty with reasonable price. It was difficult for kids as there was no regular white rice. Place is clean & tidy. Good parking place. Must visit, if you are in that vicinity.

Very nice, pure veg food in this Jain restaurant. Meals at a reasonable price. You will find this restaurant by the banyan tree where all the rickshaws are. This was a refreshing change from the high priced, very busy places on the sea wall by the beach. Pure veggie. What a treat! Simple , tasty food cooked to order. It's not smart but this is India and a little oasis. The restaurant is on the first floor with side views to the sea and open to the air. Unpretentious and extremely good value. Just about 50 metres from the beach. Very pleasant staff too. If you're fed up with the hard sell by the beach, come here for simple, good food.

If you're a North Indian and seeking for finger licking food in Kovalam, then this is the place where you can have amazing food. Plus point for vegetarian people as it is a pure vegetarian restaurant. Only con is their restaurant needs a makeover/renovation rest everything is superb The staff is very sweet and humble.

Out-of-this-world flavours! While traveling in Kerala one definitely gets plenty of chance to eat some awesomely yummy South Indian food, but this is a nice change with some excellent North Indian veg. We had chana masala, paneer jafrani/zafrani, raita, and pakoda to start. All was awesome, as was the service!

We had fish curry meals and fish fry.. Food was soo nice.. Their menu is so impressive with good sea food dishes..other non veg and veg items are also there..abundant parking space.. Good ambience.. Restaurant not that far away from byepass. Famous for sea food varieties. Samudra Sadya platter will easily suffice 3 peoole. Indoor ( Air conditioned) and outdoor dining halls which can accommodate around 190+ people at a time. Air condition was not so effective for lunch Ample wheelchair accessible parking space.

We had the pleasure of dining with the support of a professional chef and well-equipped grill facilities, and overall, the experience was impressive. The grilled fish and Malabar fish curry were absolutely outstanding—beautifully prepared, bursting with authentic flavors, and presented with care. While the pricing leans on the higher side, the quality and taste fully justify it. The grilled chicken, however, didn’t quite match the standard of the seafood dishes and left room for improvement in terms of texture and flavor. That said, the staff were courteous, attentive, and very professional, which enhanced the overall experience. A great place if you're looking for top-tier seafood with refined preparation—especially the fish dishes. Highly recommended with just a small caveat for the grilled chicken.

Sea food platter costing Rs 1300 is the highlight of this restaurant,situated at Kovalam Leela Raviz road. With almost 10 variety of fish dishes it can be shared by three people. A must try for sea food enthusiast's. there's also a live fish food counter at night.... not tried yet ample parking space is another plus point

Good place near Kovalam Beach to have lunch. We ordered Pure Veg Thali, Sea Food Thali and Egg Biryani. We enjoyed all the items.

The restaurant is located prominently by the road to Kovalam beach. Sea food seems to be the main attraction. We had what they call "sagara sadya" (Feast from ocean). It contains a variety of fish items (two types of fish curry, two types of large fish fry, netholi fry, choora pickle, chemmern fry, kanava roast and crab roast. There are couple of other items I did not try.) They provide rice, tapyoca, pappadam and puliserry along with the fish items. It is good enough for three persons. It costs around Rs. 1300. The service is super fast and efficient. While the variety of fish is great, taste-wise it is not the best available in these parts. Still, would recommend it for the experience.

The Samudra sadhya is a must try for seafood lovers. Other items like fried rice and parotta were also delicious.

Visited their restaurant for an à la carte birthday dinner. Aside from the birthday cake, nothing was satisfactory. The non-veg dishes were stale and lacked flavor, while the veg options were somewhat better. The bread items were the worst I’ve ever had. Overall, it wasn’t even worth 20% of the money spent.

The Sky Bar at Leela Kovalam is truly a gem. The view of the Arabian Sea, especially during sunset, is breathtaking. The ambiance is luxurious yet peaceful, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Drinks and snacks are excellent, and the staff is attentive and warm. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Kovalam.

My Disappointing Experience at The Leela Kovalam I have been observing this place for three seasons, and unfortunately, I can say that the quality of service here is not improving but getting worse. 1. The Beach My introduction to the hotel began with the beach, which they illegally call "private." It is important to note that private beaches do not exist in India – all beaches belong to the state and are open to everyone. However, the hotel staff shamelessly drive out locals and tourists, which is outrageous and unacceptable. India is known for its hospitality, where people are welcomed, not thrown out from a public place that no one truly owns. But if the hotel considers this beach to be “theirs,” then a logical question arises: why is it always covered in trash? Why does no one maintain it? Piles of plastic, litter, and seaweed—this is how the beach of a "5-star" hotel looks? Moreover, sewage flows directly into the sea, and the smell is unbearable. Do they really think this is acceptable for their guests? 2. The Tides Restaurant – Chaos and No Service The Tides Restaurant is a separate disaster. Booking a table there is nearly impossible. The staff simply ignores emails and requests, not even bothering to respond. Such behavior demonstrates complete unprofessionalism. When I finally managed to visit, I was deeply disappointed. Mediocre food that absolutely does not justify its price. Of course, the prices are high—it is a 5-star hotel—but that does not mean they can serve food that tastes like it came from a cheap street café. It feels like they are simply profiting off their name without making any effort to deliver quality. 3. The Sky Bar – Only a Nice View The only good thing about The Sky Bar is the beautiful view. But that is all. The sofas are covered in bird droppings, and it seems like no one has cleaned them for weeks. How can a 5-star hotel allow such a level of unsanitariness? The cocktails are just as mediocre as the food. The price-to-quality ratio is completely unjustifiable. 4. The Absolute Disrespect Toward People But the most disgusting and shocking thing is the service and attitude of the staff. I witnessed an absolutely disgraceful scene: a security guard with a stick refused to let an elderly woman use the toilet. The toilet! In any civilized country, any reputable restaurant or hotel allows visitors to use the restroom. But what is even more appalling is that in India—a country known for its incredible hospitality—I have never encountered a situation where security guards literally protect a toilet with a stick! This is beyond common sense. What kind of mindset do you need to have to think this is acceptable? I have visited this hotel’s restaurants and bars multiple times, including during the off-season, when they actually need customers. But after such disrespectful treatment of people, I will never set foot there again. Final verdict: terrible service, mediocre food, and a complete lack of basic respect for people. I strongly do not recommend the restaurant, the bar, or the hotel.

So thankful that Sali stopped us on the small road and asked if we wanted to have lunch at their place. We decided to come with him. Happy for us! Amazing food, service and view. The calamari’s is the best I ever had. So tonight we had to go back for dinner. We had grilled fish and it was so good! Fresh and tasty. I could really recommend this place. Mr. Sali from Curry leaf is very helpful and friendly. He suggested some great dishes and the food taste and quality is excellent. Prawns, lobster and variety of fresh fish is available here. We visited twice during our stay and enjoyed the yummy food with a great view. A must visit when in Kovalam!

Amazing food & service. Sali surprised us with a birthday cake and then went and got a fresh lobster for us. Recommend fully for everyone.

This was the second time we visited Kovalam and the restaurant Curry Leaf. The food & hospitality was still top standard and the view from the restaurant is still one of the best in the area.

We were also pleased Sali stopped us as we walked close to the beach. We returned in the evening to his small family restaurant for dinner. Enjoyed a lovely fish meal. Overlooking the sea. Sali is a great enthusiastic host.

Thank you Sali and Curry Leaf for such an emailing experience in kovalam! this place made our stay, the fresh fish caught only a couple hours before it was served. The vibes and views are something out of a movie and the kindness of the staff is overwhelming! Not a place to miss if your in Kovalam, run don’t walk, get to curry leaf for that sunset.

Don’t know where to begin! Our favourite restaurant in the whole of our trip through India. The fish was 10/10 and the view… just wow. Sali was the best host you could ask for, if you need any tips or recommendations, he’s your guy! Thank you Curry Leaf.

It's situated in kovalam beach....its nice to see the overall beach from here....we can see the whole beach..hotels resorts from here...morning time is cool to watch...beautiful view...we can see the sunset from here....
