Nestled in the heart of Okinawa, the Southeast Botanical Gardens is a sprawling 100-acre oasis that invites nature lovers and families alike to immerse themselves in its vibrant beauty. This enchanting garden boasts an impressive collection of over 1,300 tropical plant species, including unique specimens like the Alexander Palm and Dragon Blood Trees. As you wander through its meticulously landscaped paths, you'll encounter serene ponds and themed gardens that celebrate Okinawa's rich biodiversity.
Awesome experience, definitely great for families with kids. Lots of animals to pet and beautiful picture perfect areas. You could easily spend over two hours here. The gift shop is great with lots of cool little trinkets and the park is very clean. I came in the morning at around 9 AM before all of the petting exhibits were open and there was not many people there. It was nice and quiet.

This was a really cool experience! My partner and I just wondered around taking our time to enjoy the atmosphere and animals. You can feed the animals for a 200yen fee. The area is clean, it is fairly sized. Kids in the park seemed to enjoy it. There are park benches to enjoy a seat and food. There is a restaurant and cafe. It is 20,00yen per adult. If you have time and the money I would recommend 😊
Taimani K — Google review
The place is very beautiful for sure but the admission fee is SO high it’s crazy Workers here are very kind & definitely take care of the animals Cafe here has a limited menu of cute desserts but most seem to be lacking flavor. I do NOT recommend the churros Gift shop here has cute stuff but pretty similar throughout. Even after admission fees, lots of other small activities like entering certain exhibits is even more money on top Definitely recommend checking out the area at night. I went at night before & it’s so much pretty. More relaxing too with the aesthetic
Gedanny V — Google review
AMAZING EXPERIENCE! This is the perfect place to spend the day, especially if you love animals. We were able to pet and feed monkeys, capybaras, goats, an armadillo, and some massive tortoises. My dream of finally meeting a capybara came true! It was such an incredible, up-close experience. They also have bird show, a gift shop with gelato, and a petting zoo. During certain times of the year, they put on a spectacular night light display that I highly recommend seeing. Animals during the day and beautiful lights at night, it doesn’t get better than that. Such a special place to have right next door, and I can’t wait to go back! Tips: -Bring YEN change! 200 yen per cup of food to feed the animals. 300 yen just for the monkey admission fee -Appy bug spray and sunscreen -There is a restaurant and other places to buy snacks and drinks -You can pay to go fishing with bamboo poles. Catch and release
Jessica M — Google review
A wonderful place to spend an afternoon with the family. The botanical garden offers a great mix of nature, relaxation, and fun activities for all ages. One of the highlights is the variety of animals you can interact with: capybaras, armadillo, monkeys, goats, ducks, turtoises, and more. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and there are plenty of shaded paths and scenic spots to explore. It’s an enjoyable, laid-back experience that’s perfect for kids and adults alike. Highly recommended for a peaceful and entertaining day out in Okinawa.
Paulina S — Google review
A must see botanical garden where you can feed the animals. In every spot for animals to see, you can feed them for ¥200. Souvenir store is after you enter the garden, there's drinks and snacks to buy. There's guinea pigs, rabbits and a dog for you to pet. There's a separate spot for monkeys and a capybara to feed but has a separate entrance fee ¥1000, including food to feed the monkeys. Leave all your stuff outside their fence because they will steal your stuff. We went on a hot and sunny day, wish they have mist on random sposts as you wonder around the garden to avoid heat exhaustion. But overall, it's a nice place for everyone.
Joanna J — Google review
Theres is light bulbs everywhere. If u have smaller kids its a nice place to visit during the day feedibg the different animals. I imagine it's also a lovely place to visit in the evenings when the lights are switched on and you're in love. But for a singel traveller during the day Naha royal garden is a better alternative.
Marcus — Google review
Setting the reviews, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, despite the animals and nature, this place is a scam. The price is super high, and what you get is super loud music everywhere, everything costing extra and lights that are worse than some American front yards for Christmas. Whatever you do, do not waste your money here. Also, being close to military airfield, the fighter jets are causing to lose hearing soon.

Koza Driving Range

3.9
(88)
Golf driving range
Koza Driving Range is a popular spot in Okinawa, Japan, where locals gather from early morning until late at night to practice their golf swings. For 500 yen, visitors can hit around 140 to 150 balls, making it a cost-effective option for honing their skills before heading out to the golf course. Despite the relatively short distance of about 80 yards, it provides enough space to determine the trajectory of the ball and is suitable for practicing with long clubs.
Simple driving range and batting cages. 500yen gets you a basket of golf balls. Friendly staff. Had one that spoke English. Kid friendly.

(Translated by Google) This golf range is loved by locals. People gather from early in the morning and stay busy until late at night. It costs 500 yen for 140 balls, but actually 144 balls come out of the machine. Many people come here to practice before going golfing. Although the distance is short at 80 yards, it is enough to determine the trajectory of the ball. After all, it's the lowest price in the area, and probably the cheapest in Okinawa as well. On weekends, it can get crowded and you may have to wait in line. If you keep going, you will gradually get a better idea of when the time is available. This is a social gathering place for the elderly, and there are many people who chat for a long time, so it is better to reserve a seat and not chat. It's crowded, so I'd like you to give up your seat and have a chat. Also, there are only two lefty seats, but they are often used by right-handed players, so I think it would be a good idea to ask them to give up their lefty seats. In the morning, regulars practice in their underwear, some with their upper bodies naked. Golf is a gentleman's sport. This is a golf range in Okinawa, but there is also a ``teacher'' here. In the morning, they are on the first floor near the toilets, and on the second floor they are in the middle. The teaching demon will approach the woman, but he should respond calmly and not make eye contact. Please rest assured that if we don't get along well, I won't come to teach you next time. Compared to other microwave ovens, there are fewer women, especially young ones. I wonder why it's cheap?

[For those who are new to the driving range] Once you've decided on your favorite batting position, place your clubs to reserve your spot → place a green basket in the vending machine in the middle of the aisle and insert 500 yen → When you're done hitting balls, remove your clubs, return the basket, and you're done! At other driving ranges, you often pay and reserve your spot at the reception, then insert your card into the machine at the batting position, but here it's completely self-service. Pokemon Center Okinawa

Hobby store
Toy store
Pokémon Center Okinawa, located inside Aeon Mall Rycom, is a paradise for Pokémon enthusiasts. Opened in August 2022, the store offers an extensive range of Pokémon merchandise including plush toys, stationery, toys, tableware, clothes and more. Visitors can explore the latest Pokémon game, Scarlet and Violet, and engage in the Pokémon trading card game. The store also features exclusive items such as Okinawa plush toys.
I was so excited to go to my first Pokémon center and it was everything i wanted it to be! It was super packed on the weekend, but the line was moving fast at checkout, but do be warned there are limits to the amount of packs you can get. As for the store itself, the variety was awesome! Home items, dinnerware, plushies, earrings, towels, electronic goods, charms, figures, and more were all available! Their stock seems to change quite frequently as it had changed between my visit of 3 days to other new items. As easy as it is to get swept up with Pokémania, items here are pricey, especially with charms, so it adds up very quickly!! For me it was worth it, but if you have a budget, keep that in mind. The staff were so kind and took great care to pack my things nicely in my bag. I highly recommend to any Pokémon fan and I recommend going during the week to browse freely!

The Pokémon Center in Okinawa is amazing! The store is full of exclusive items you can’t find anywhere else, and the Okinawa-themed Pikachu is super cute. The atmosphere is fun and colorful, perfect for both kids and adults. Staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s definitely a must-visit spot for Pokémon fans traveling to Okinawa!

Welcome to Pokemon Center Okinawa,Japan. It is one of the roughly 17 Pokémon Center branches in Japan. Exclusive Okinawa-themed merchandise. For example, plush toys, postcards, apparel, and souvenirs that incorporate Okinawan motifs (e.g. hibiscus, traditional Ryukyuan designs). Immersive interior design. The store layout includes themed spaces inspired by Okinawan nature (forest, sea), dynamic circular zones, and decorative features like an Alolan Exeggutor statue. Interactive areas. You can find zones for video content, Pokémon TCG (Trading Card Game), and multimedia displays. Popular displays and photo spots. Large plush figures (e.g. Pikachu, Arcanine) welcome visitors, and there is a giant touchscreen Pokédex wall. Time needed: Plan for about 1 to 1.5 hours to browse merchandise, enjoy displays, and take photos. Visit timing: Weekdays or off-peak hours are better to avoid crowds. Weekends tend to be busy. Tax-free shopping: For tourists, certain purchases may qualify for tax exemption. Be sure to bring your passport. Purchase limits: Special card packs or limited items may have restrictions per person. Combine with mall visit: Since it’s located inside AEON Mall Rycom, you can combine your visit with shopping, dining, or entertainment in the same complex.

Blue Water Shrimp, a Hawaiian restaurant, offers a delectable variety of dishes. Their regular garlic shrimp, followed by the spicy and extra spicy options, are exceptionally appetizing. The 9 Shrimp Plate is a must-try and consistently satisfying. Additionally, their boba drinks with perfectly textured pearls are enjoyable. The brown sugar matcha drink is particularly delightful when customized with less sugar and ice.
Excellent food the portions are HUGE! The meat was tender and seasoned extremely well! They have other meats besides shrimp! Highly recommend you give them a try if you’re tired of the same ole same. 🤗
Laquintez H — Google review
The sauce for spicy garlic shrimp goes well with rice, shrimp is fresh too. Fried pork belly reminds me of KFC original recipe. Overall, food is nice 👍
Archie C — Google review
Nice taste and sauce is good to go with the rice. Price is above average but worth the try.
Lau S — Google review
Extremely delicious food! The spicy/garlic shrimp and garlic chicken are amazing! Malasadas are really good too. They are made fresh to order, but the taste isn't really like Hawaiian malasadas.
Emerald F — Google review
So first off the speed was extremely fast and the shrimp was piping hot (like microwave speed / heat?!?), I literally sat down 10 meters away and had to get right back up because it was ready. Second the taste of creamy garlic shrimp was good. Problem is the shrimp are not cleaned, still has shells, feet and poop! So I have to try and peel the shells while they are covered in extremely hot sauce. I could let it cool down, but I dislike eat food that is supposed to be hot when it’s cold. Once I stripped all the shells off I was left with no sauce, so it just tasted like shrimp. Do people actually eat the shells?!?! Gross! I have been to Hawaii so many times and my shrimp was always cleaned before being served. I have no intention of eating here again, I could just get some shrimp from Aeon and microwave it myself for cheaper.
Oki_Dingo — Google review
We usually order the fried garlic pork. The preparation and tatse is inconsistent. Sometimes, it was either too salty, barely salted, or the meat was overcooked/dry. Today (11/11/22), I could barely taste any salt and the meat was not properly separated before frying that it came out thick so one side is not fried. Also, the salad dressing was too spicy. I've ordered here before where it was properly cooked/prepared and it was good. But after these occurrences, it's really killing my appetite and wasting my money. I really hope they would fix this issue. Until then, 1 star.
Berchan T — Google review
This place is SO GOOD!!!! I started with the regular garlic shrimp, then spicy garlic, then EXTRA spicy garlic shrimp (it’s a little menu on the top left of the counter) and OMG. Always get the 9 Shrimp Plate. Never disappoints. Their boba is also pretty decent. Their pearls are just the right softness—I get their brown sugar matcha with less sugar/ice and it’s always a treat.
Nina — Google review
I ordered the mild garlic shrimp plate and a tropical tea with boba. It didn't take long for the electric buzzer to let me know it was ready. The shrimp were large & properly cooked but not fully cleaned out. The garlic sauce was delicious. It turned out to be messy. Thank goodness for the wipe. Anyhow, the rice was mushy but otherwise good. I really, really loved the tropical tea with boba.

The atmosphere at Flex Bar Chatan was enjoyable, with a pleasant ambience and music. It transported me back to Jamaica, especially when I had the red stripe beer. We ordered jerk chicken in both medium and large portions. The large portion was quite big, while I prefer my jerk chicken to have more sauce; however, their chicken lacked no flavor despite being served without sauce.
As a Jamaican, missing the food from home, this restaurant was manna from the Gods! Wow the food was great and the location added a nice touch. Everything I tried tasted lovely and as if it wasn't Jamaican enough, croaking lizards came crawling out as soon as the sun set. How nostalgic. I can't stress enough how delicious it all was! Give it a try. They also have clothing and seasoning on sale.

Food was pretty good. Definitely had better, but it was edible. Rice and peas didn't have flavor. My son couldn't believe there were no plantains. It's a cute spot.
Ree M — Google review
Food was delicious, the vibe and atmosphere was spot on for a Jamaican restaurant. Good music was playing as we sat outside for our evening dinner listening to the sound of the ocean. Service was nice and accommodating. You can dine in or take out which was nice to have the option as we were tired from traveling all day, which is also great that the restaurant stayed open late. Ate our dinner there and took dessert home.
Sonwai — Google review
This is an excellent place to grab lunch! The food was bursting with flavor, and the vibrant atmosphere—complete with great music and stylish décor—made the experience even better. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, adding to the positive vibe. Its location right by the beach is a major plus. After a satisfying meal, you can enjoy a relaxing stroll along the shoreline—perfect for rounding out your visit. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the pricing. Some items felt a bit steep for what you got—for example, a single glass of lemonade was ¥700, and nearly half of it was just ice. That said, it’s still a solid restaurant overall, and well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Anthony S — Google review
Wow, so glad I found this place. Staying at a different hotel on my trip to Okinawa opened up a brand new door of restaurants to try. The food here was plentiful and delicious. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The music was loud but not unbearable. You can still have conversations. If you see this review, please stop before my for the great Jamaican drinks they are serving. I was pleased to no end. I'll probably go back before I leave this trip.
Ashley V — Google review
Found this place on a whim when my friend and I were actually supposed to going some else. I will say this food is very very tasty, however tbh it doesn't give me Jamaican vibe especially the jerk. But like I said the flavor is still good. My favorite dish to get here is the jerk chicken taco rice. And their alcohol drinks are on point for sure! Everytime I've been here the vibe is super nice and it's very clean. I love how they are so friendly and the food is made fresh. I would recommend this place and continue to go to this place without hesitation. Oh I forgot to mention I tried the coconut curry shrimp and yes yes yes it is muy delicioso! Update: Tried the jerk chicken salad today with double chicken and double avocado and yum yum yummy! I am stuffed. It was tasty and healthy at the same time. Oh and they have a seasonal okinawa lemonade and wow drink was so refreshing 😌

Flex Bar Chatan is treasure just a few meters from Araha beach. You can even get food and drinks for take-out while sitting on the beach. There are many things that make Flex great. They play jamaican music, they have a mini jamaican accessory store, free parking, nice staff, and above all, the food is delicious!

Really cool chill place on the beach. Vibes are unmatched. Food was a bite on the lite side but had a good amount of flavor. The customer service was really good and I enjoyed myself. Every time I visit Oki I will definitely come here to eat and just enjoy the vibes. Jerk pork was good, a little too much fat for me but I'd order it again. Jerk chicken (boneless) had good flavor. Rice and peas was decent.

Curry House Laxmi is a delightful gem that captures the essence of Indian cuisine with its charming decor and inviting atmosphere. This restaurant specializes in an array of curry bases, including yogurt, spinach, tomato, and pumpkin, allowing diners to customize their dishes with various vegetables or chicken. While it may not boast an extensive Indian or Pakistani menu, Curry House Laxmi focuses on delivering exceptional curry experiences alongside a few side options.
If it’s your first time there try the white curry first or the white curry pizza. This curry is the owners recipe. He wanted to create something unique and is not like any other curry you will have. It’s amazing. Been off island eight years now and we still talk about it and the owners kindness.

It's a good curry restaurant with Indian decor. Several different varieties of curry bases to choose from: yogurt, spinach, tomato, and pumpkin. You can also choose what comes in your curry, several types of vegetables or chicken. Don't expect a large Indian or Pakistani menu, it's really a curry restaurant that let's you choose a good curry a couple of things on the side. You get a choice of rice/nan (unfortunately not made fresh but store bought), sets come with simple salad and choice of drink (with three different delicious sweet lassi drinks among other beverages). It's a fun place to go but will not fulfill your desire for a Indian Restaurant if you like different types of cuisine or good food cooked in a tandoori oven. The inside has an interesting foreign feel and tables are set up to create private space, but the wooden beams in the place are low enough a taller person will have to duck at times when walking to your table. There are also a couple spots that there is a small step up that may cause someone to trip if not careful Service is excellent! Just ring the bell and the nice waitress will help you with whatever you need. Overall a good quick meal restaurant or if you're looking for a good meal at a good value.

I LOVE the white curry here! Definitely recommend trying since I've never seen it anywhere else. Husband usually gets the chicken curry and we order to go. The naan is not the most authentic, but the food is still tasty!

The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff treat you like family. The curry is good and different curry bases to try.

Ramen restaurant
Kameya is a popular restaurant known for its tomato ramen and delicious gyoza. The spice levels of their ramen range from 1 to 3, offering a flavorful and spicy experience. They also offer lunch sets at great prices, making it an incredible deal. The restaurant can get busy during lunchtime due to its small size but offers takeout for convenience. Customers praise the consistency of the food, with favorites including the chicken, shio ramen, and fried rice.
Yen only!! No card. You do not hand it to them, you put it straight into the machine when you pay. They have some of the best soups I've had for ramen. Id recommend the yuzu salt and tomato based ones It has its own entrance, but it's located within what looks like a complex. There is no entrance from within the main building of the complex though. It's right at the end. Facing it. It's on the far right. I preferred the fried rice over the roasted pork rice. The food here is at minimum of four star, with some five star options. I like that you can get sets at a cheaper price. Mini deal here. I vaguely remember this at lunch time.... The reason why this review isn't as well written as my normal ones, is for some reason. Time I've been here, I start the review and I never finish it. So I just want to have a placeholder until I have time to do a proper one.

Always my favorite Soy Tofu Ramen at Kameya Ramen. Recommended for those who like ramen but are concerned about calories, it's a perfect balance. Soy milk is also a well-known health food with beauty and diet benefits, blood pressure reduction and liver function improvement benefits. Also, this place have lot of ramen selection, gyoza is super delicious highly recommended.

I truly believe that this is one of the best Ramen you will be able to get in Okinawa! Especially their spicy tomato Ramen is unique and unbelievably delicious. You really can’t go wrong. They also provide English menu, which I highly respect not like I expect it from any restaurant, but this is great and it shows that they’re opening to others.

Super tasty and filling ramen! It’s pretty much our favorite on island so far! The broth is always consistent and delicious, the flavors are #1, and the spice levels (levels 1-3) are actually spicy 🥵 The picture I shared is the spicy miso, but I updated the post to add the lunch set (~1,200¥) and the children’s set. The lunch set is an incredible deal for the price and the children set could probably feed two children. The shop is on the smaller side, but gets busy quick around lunch time. There is a water self serve station which also has extra bowls, some children’s forks and spoons, as well as adult forks. An English menu has almost always been provided to us, which I’m incredibly thankful for, and they do not take credit cards-so don’t forget to bring yen ☺️

It’s a small place, it’s a bit warm in there. Nothing fancy, but the food is absolutely delicious… the chicken is soooo juicy, the rice is full of flavors and the ramen is incredible! The base broth comes in many flavors. Only cash NO CARDS!

Delicious and spicy AF. Clean, fast, modern serving up a host of spicy bowls (tomato, mabo tofu, squid ink, spicy miso) on top of the usual ones. Convenient location and friendly staff. Has cheap lunch sets to boot. Plus has stamp card.

So, I've tried this place going on three times and thier consistency is amazing. My favorite is the chicken, and the shio ramen. The dumplings are always fresh, I think this is among the elite Ramen Places in Okinawa. I have tried multiple places, all types this sticks out for me.
