Coopers Square is a modern covered shopping center in Burton, offering a great shopping experience with high-street fashion stores, independent shops, and food outlets. The center also provides free car parking after 3pm and has good rates before that. It is connected to the Market Hall and open Market, with common areas that are clean and well-maintained. Visitors can enjoy a variety of branded shops and have access to Sainsbury's adjacent to the car park.
Primark, Greggs & Poundland! Coopers Square - the main shopping centre in Burton - has a good selection of shops around the inside area. Always clean, the only issue is the toilets, they stink and have not been refurbished since the 1960's. Management should be ashamed they publicly show how much profit they make, yet they don't invest a single penny to help the town, the people and improve the experience they are paid to provide.
Jody B — Google review
Cooper Square is pretty average. It's got the usual shops like Primark, M&S, and Next, But that's about it. There aren't many interesting shops, and the food options are really limited to just a few cafes. It needs more variety to make it a better place to visit. Right now, it's just okay.
Michael S — Google review
Lovely shopping centre. Lots of shops, places to sit and its warm. My only criticism is there isn't a parent room where you can feed your child. Your only option is to go to a cafe and not all places will heat up your food for you
Emma A — Google review
Coopers square is an ok shopping centre, so many a good shops have closed down now, that's just not in Burton its everywhere. The shopping centre is always clean and tidy
Rose W — Google review
The centre is not what it used to be. The coffee shop in the middle is lovely however it seems each time I visit more and more shops are closed.
Lauren A — Google review
Nice shops to visit. Clean and plenty of seats to sit and rest on
Ruth G — Google review
As shopping centres go, it's not bad! Plenty of major high street shops including Waterstones, Primark, M&S and Boots. It's not huge but you can get pretty much anything you need. And if not, the Octagon centre next door will have it. Be warned though, once you enter you WILL get disoriented at the square in the middle and come up on the far side of Burton from where you were intending! 🤣
Nigel A — Google review
It’s pretty average, there’s just a couple 10-20 stores and thats about it. It’s decent, but needs to be improved.

The center also hosts regular events to keep visitors entertained. In addition to shopping, the area boasts attractions like Barton Marina and Mercia Marina for leisurely strolls and Coopers Square Shopping Centre for more retail therapy.
I really like robinson's diecast store, very good cars and buses for £1 - 7 and you can get cars and stuff for as little as 50p
James G — Google review
It's a decent place with a Costa at the main entrance, and nice bakery cafe upstairs. Like most of these malls though it's lost its way a bit and is mostly full of the cheaper type stores.
David S — Google review
Not a bad little shopping mall, has few shops inside, including discount stores, tkmax, CEX, Iceland, card factory. The works and more... clean and tidy. Not too busy and offers food upstairs too in the cafe.

The Rosliston Forestry Centre located in the heart of The National Forest in South Derbyshire is a hidden treasure that offers visitors an array of outdoor activities for all ages and physical abilities. Its modern cabins equipped with kitchens and terraces with BBQs, make it the perfect spot for family getaways or quiet retreats. The centre boasts walking trails that allow visitors to enjoy nature at its best, from woodlands and meadows to ponds and play areas.
We walk the dog most days in the Forestry. So many walks and trails to choose from. Lovely wooden animals in the Forest with many benches to sit and relax. Lakes to see the herons, fish, ducks. A bird hide. On Saturdays at 9am there is a run to join in. Too many activities to mention. Come along and see for yourself 😁 You can hire scooters too. £2. I hired one when I hurt my back.

2nd visit here for the Saturday morning Parkrun. Loads of parking, however there can be queues for the parking machines as they are pretty slow. There is another machine at the visitor centre entrance also. Run is on good paths with one long hill section, trial shoes were fine. The canopy of the trees is nice in hot weather and the paths have some wider sections so doesn't get bottlenecks. They do timing signs at the start, so faster runners can clear first, which is great. Well marshalled event and friendly volunteers, worth a visit.
Paul — Google review
Fantastic for kiddies, especially if the weather's good. Parkland, birds of prey to visit, and a number of different play areas suiting kiddies of all ages and also those with special needs. Car park was £4 for the day. Organised activities available on some days, too, at a small cost.
Jo P — Google review
A great place for the kids to burn some energy. There are three separate play areas, one of which has a sand area. There is a cafe if you’d like to buy food/drinks. There are also many picnic benches, so you can always pack a picnics with you. There are also toilets. The best thing is you just pay for parking, which is fairly priced. We took our kids bike and they loved riding them around the trail. We’d definitely visit again.
Harpreet S — Google review
The grounds and play areas are fantastic. Good accessibility for wheelchair users and push chairs. The acres of forestry are outstanding, fantastic area for walking and you can also bring your dogs. Lovely cafe to purchase food and drinks, hot or cold. It’s all free, you just have to pay for parking. Blue badge holders can park for free.

A lovely free day out walking around the forestry. Plenty to keep little ones entertained & nice peaceful walks. Well kept forestry with frequent events, a lovely coffee shop & softplay. Suitable for all ages, Literally.

August 2025 A great place to take a young family. There's a brand new hawk climbing construction which our grandchildren loved with slides and climbing walls. Also, nearby another play area with a massive wooden tractor. You can get quite close to a display of birds of prey with a whole range of types. The owners were very friendly and spent time chatting about all the birds. There's plenty of cycle routes and a large cafe. Additionally, Roslinton has a large collection of notable trees on a long and winding path. Each tree has a well kept information post. The park also has a sculpture trail aimed at inqizative children. There's a map available with routes and a question sheet All day parking is £4.00 All in, a very good place.

Barton Marina is a charming destination with over 300 narrowboats and direct access to the Trent and Mersey Canal. The leisurely walk around the marina offers scenic views of lakes and woodland, along with various shops and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options, quaint shops, a farm shop, waterfront pub, coffee shops, small cinema, and ample parking. The site also features clean public toilets and benches for relaxation.
I recently visited Barton Marina, and it was such a great experience! The place has a really unique vibe – a mix of tranquility by the water and a lively atmosphere with so much going on. I went there to catch a movie at the Red Carpet Cinema, which was cozy and had such a welcoming feel. It’s not your average cinema – the seating is super comfortable, and it feels more personal, like a hidden gem for movie lovers. The marina itself is stunning, with boats gently swaying in the water and a peaceful, scenic walking area. Even if you’re just there for food and the cinema, you can’t help but soak in the beauty of the surroundings. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend for a chilled-out day or evening – great for entertainment, good food, and just enjoying the atmosphere.

Review of Barton Marina Barton Marina is a delightful destination with something for everyone. You'll find beautiful scenery and peaceful canals that wind through the marina, offering stunning views of the lakes and surrounding wildlife. It's a birdwatcher’s dream—ducks, geese, and an array of local birds make every walk feel immersive and serene. Beyond the natural charm, Barton Marina offers a great selection of shops for leisurely browsing. Whether you're in search of gifts, outdoor gear, or home décor, there’s plenty to explore. For dining and entertainment, two highlights stand out: the Red Carpet Cinema and the Café Bar. The cinema provides a comfortable, boutique experience for catching the latest films, while the Café Bar serves up everything from fresh coffee and light bites to hearty meals, all with inviting views of the marina. Whether you're out for a stroll, shopping trip, a bite to eat, or watching a movie, Barton Marina offers a well-rounded day out in a stunning setting.

Free parking, several quirky shops to browse. Lots of food & drink available. Public toilets. Mostly flat. Two lakes full of water fowl to walk around. I went on a Friday during school holidays and it was fairly quiet till around 2pm.

I recently visited this charming venue in Barton-under-Needwood and had an unforgettable evening. The cinema offered a cozy and intimate setting to watch a movie, enhancing the overall experience. After the film, I indulged in a delightful meal at their café bar. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the fish and chips were crispy and fresh, a true classic done right. Review of The Red Carpet Cinema Café Bar I had a lovely experience at The Red Carpet Cinema Café Bar. The atmosphere was warm, stylish, and welcoming—perfect for a relaxing outing. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole visit feel personal and enjoyable. The food was excellent—freshly prepared, well-presented, and full of flavour. Whether you’re popping in for lunch, a coffee, or a full meal before a film, the menu offers something for everyone. I especially appreciated the cosy setting, which adds a touch of charm that’s rare to find. Being able to enjoy a meal or drink in such a nice environment before heading into the cinema made the whole experience extra special. It’s a perfect spot for a treat, a date night, or a catch-up with friends. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be returning

Red Carpet Cinema is an excellent venue for watching a film, eating a delicious meal and experiencing the delights of Barton Marina. The facility itself is decorated to feel like an authentic old-fashioned cinema, the seats are big and comfy and the screens are adequately sized. Food is fantastic and allergies / dietary requirements all catered for with ease. We had two delicious food courses each, a drink each and a cinema ticket each, for £75, which is good value for the excellent quality of food served! We regularly visit and enjoy ourselves every time. Thank you!

First time at the red carpet cinema and cafe. Staff were brilliant. Loved the film and had 2 course dinner and a bottle of wine after! Food was absolutely delicious, slight issue with the wrong order coming out, however was sorted very professionally and promptly, side order was forgotten but came eventually and was taken off the bill as a good will gesture without having to ask. Wonderful staff, and 10/10 for the food and wine. Will definitely visit again soon.

Another fantastic visit to the Red Carpet. We had food before the film and as always it was first class. Everything was cooked to perfection, the portion sizes are perfect and the food is amazing. The staff are all very attentive and polite and always go above and beyond to offer an outstanding service. The cinema always feels clean, the seats are lovely and comfy. We've got our next visit booked and we're looking forward to one of the lovely Red Carpet breakfasts. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you for a great cinema experience.

Byrkley Park Garden Centre is a charming coffee shop that offers a variety of homemade dishes amidst an expansive garden center. With a wide range of goods available for sale and ample parking, this picturesque Staffordshire garden center offers something for everyone. Absolutely stunning place. There is a great selection available covering all things from plants to homewares to food. A lot of stuff is very reasonably priced too and there is something for all budgets. The garden centre is also dog friendly. The cafe is amazing, with a great selection of delicious food and drink. Again, these are all very reasonably priced. The Grow card rewards scheme is fantastic, and although there is an initial cost for the card, it more than pays for itself after a couple of visits. I would highly recommend a visit here. It really is a wonderful place.

Went here for a browse and something to eat. Food took absolutely ages to come even though there was hardly anybody there and we had only ordered sandwiches. Very overpriced for some dry bread, one piece of chicken and a few ready salted crisps. One of the staff behind the counter was shockingly rude which just added to the not so great experience. All in all it’s a lovely place in a nice area but personally wouldn’t step foot in the cafe again.

Went to the café at Byrkley Park Garden Centre for breakfast with my mother, and it was a very pleasant experience overall. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. Although the hash brown and bacon were sadly very overcooked and hard, the rest of the plate was faultless and absolutely yummy. The tea was nice and piping hot—just the way we like it. But the star of the meal was the toast! It was our favourite part—warm, buttery, and just the right amount of crisp. We'd certainly return, if only for the toast and tea. A lovely place for a leisurely breakfast or a peaceful cuppa.

I would've given 5 stars, but after a recent visit today. I cant say i was impressed with the lunch i ordered. This place has normally provided decent meals. And i also appreciate that at times when places are busy, you know there could be a wait. But when your food finally arrives and its extremely disappointing 😕 The description was spicy bean chilli with cheese on a jacket potato. And i ordered some coleslaw at the price of £1.50 extra. Well i had to get a magnifying glass out to actually see the chilli. I think there must've been about a table spoon full on the potato. The cheese was one big lump which hadn't even melted properly. To actually have the cheek to charge £1.50 for the tinniest pot of coleslaw, you certainly are milking your customers. It's an insult. Chili and jacket potato luke warm. And my partner's roast was luke warm. It may be quite some time before we eat here again. Little Eaton far better.

I have been coming to costa for years and i dont like there tea. So the old manager used to give me a pot of hot water and a cup and milk and i took my own tea bag because i didnt actually have a drink just water and a bit of milk they didnt charge me however the new manager sam has told me this will no longer be happening and i have to pay for it. its just water i didnt think you were allowed to charge for water. they dont even have to wash it up as they have a dishwasher so cant see how they have the cheek to charge me. i can have the tea pot without the tea bag in with a cup and milk so i can still use my own but they are gonna charge me for a cup of tea and i have to take my own JOKE!! i cant afford this everyday

One of my favorite costa's in Burton! The former church building is large and very peaceful right in the town centre. This store can be very busy late morning and at lunchtimes, but it's worth the wait as it's real costa quality and a large cafe to sit and relax. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The offers on the app also make it great value.

You are correct, I have edited my review accordingly. We walked past this establishment and went to a great little independent cafe just 30 meters away. 😊

A nice size café with a tall, slanted ceiling. Lights and air conditioning are suspended from the ceiling. Calm music plays from above in an unknown location. The deluxe white hot chocolate was creamy and chocolatey. The chocolate twist was floury, chocolatey and puffy. The seats were comfortable and relaxing. The servers were kind and helpful. A brilliant café.

Went for breakfast at Costas yesterday. The coffee was great as usual. Had a bacon roll, which was lovely, but sometimes they overcook, and the roll gets too hard and goes rather crispy as it cools down. Unfortunately, this was one of those occasions. Otherwise, I would have given 5* because I really do love Costas.

Lovely little restaurant located in the heart of Burton upon Trent. The staff are polite and friendly and the prices (Lunch time menu) are inexpensive for a decent dish. I have been multiple times and it's been decent throughout. My only complaint is that the chicken pieces could be a little higher in quality overall. But that wouldn't stop me from going back again.

The menu was huge with so much choice and very reasonable prices. It was clean and the food came straight out and so did the drinks! The only reason I gave 4 stars for atmosphere is due to the fact it is so quiet. They could do with more customers but apparently we did visit on a quieter part of the evening. I would say this place is basically a hidden gem you need to try!

The name isn’t wrong, this is my new favourite Thai restaurant. The food was amazing, even my mother in law loved it. If you’re vegan like us, you’re in for a treat. Big portion sizes, well priced. Chang beer was great and other beer/wine available. Service was fantastic, very friendly but not over the top. Thank you for making my mother in law’s 81st birthday special. We will be back.

We had a lovely meal here for my Fiencees' birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it, really good, friendly service from start to finish. The owner went out his way to make us feel welcome.

We've not been for about 5 years (since our friend, the previous owner sold it) but visited for Mother's Day. We were reminded why it's called Favourite Thai! The food was AMAZING, the service was great and the atmosphere was lovely too. Even my children aged 5-11 loved the food. Personally, my main could have been a bit more spicy, as per traditional Thai food, but I loved it all the same. We will be returning very soon again.

We had a lovely early dinner. The hospitality and all the food was great. Highly recommend the Thai Fish Cakes, they're just as good if not better than what you get in Thailand.

They are the best Thai restaurant in the Midlands. Have to come back for their spicy dishes every few weeks, especially their fried rice.

Nestled in the charming village of Barton under Needwood, The Apple Tree Coffee Lounge is a delightful spot for coffee lovers and casual diners alike. This cozy café offers a warm atmosphere where you can unwind with friends or enjoy some quiet time alone. With an inviting menu that features a variety of beverages and light bites, it’s the perfect place to recharge after exploring the scenic surroundings.
I great little coffee shop with a lovely view of the marina, food was very nice and also the coffee, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the prices was reasonable as well we got there about 3pm ans was easy to get a table

A lovely cafe. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. They recommend you reserve a table at lunchtime because it does get busy, but on this occasion, we were lucky to get a table. I had the panini with chicken, bacon and cheese, and a mocha. The bathroom facilities are at the back of the café. The location is nice within the marina.

So good, we visited twice in a weekend! Whilst on a short staycation nearby, we stumbled upon this lovely cafe and soon saw why it is rated by The Guardian as one of the top 10 coffee shops. There is a range of both indoor and outdoor seating to catch a view of the serene marina whilst enjoying a selection of tasty breakfast, brunch and lunch options. The staff provide such a warm, friendly approach and the food was fabulous. I could not recommend this cafe enough, it is a hidden gem. There was also a lovely little farm shop next door (swipe to see the biggest onion I’ve ever laid eyes on)🧅 🍴What we had🍴 Vegetarian breakfast Mozzarella & sundried tomato toasted panini Cheddar cheese & red onion toasted panini Tuna melt toasted panini Victoria sponge cake Chocolate brownie More reviews and recommendations on my Instagram @niceatsuk

Never been to the Marina before so decided to give it a try on a rainy Saturday with the wife. Popped in for some food as the menu looked good. Had the coronation chicken jacket potato and it was delicious, huge chunks of chicken and very creamy. Waitress was very friendly. £10 for a jacket potato was a bit pricy but as a treat it was okay.

We visited The Apple Tree Coffee Lounge on March 24th and were warmly greeted by cheerful, smiling staff as soon as we walked in , such a lovely first impression! We ordered two slices of Jammy Dodger cake, a fruit scone, and two flat whites, then headed outside to relax in their lovely outdoor dining area. Our order arrived in about 10 minutes, which gave us just enough time to soak in the peaceful vibe. The cake was absolutely beautiful, soft, moist, and full of flavor. The flat whites were strong and smooth, just the way we like them. Everything hit the spot perfectly. Would we go back? Absolutely. This place is a gem. 10/10 – Highly recommend! MD Reviews

We had reserved a table and visited The Apple Tree today for the first time for a catch up. Neither of us had been here before and it was a pleasant reply. Although busy outside, inside was not as busy (which we liked) and the doors were open allowing a breeze through, much appreciated on a 28 degree day! We ordered two not so big breakfasts - everything was well presented and cooked nicely; my poached egg was perfect. Drinks were lovely and we had a good time. Only little niggle I had was our order was taken and then 5 minutes later someone came to retake our order as it seemed to have been lost of the system, but then transpired the table number had been written down wrong (we were at table 15, not 5). Not a massive issue but I asked to swap my tomato for a hash brown (told I could) but I didn’t get my hash brown. Not a massive problem at all - I just love hash browns! I will live without it 😉. The cakes looked lovely but we didn’t have on this time and we would return. Would recommend to book (can do on Google) just incase. Overall a very lovely place, plenty of inside and outside seating, clean and good quality food. Thank you.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing team and customers. We visited the café recently to catch up with some friends, but what started as a casual outing quickly turned into a medical emergency when one of our friends suddenly took ill. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible staff, who responded immediately with care, compassion, and calm professionalism. They not only called for help right away but went above and beyond, even offering their own clothes to use as makeshift pillows to keep our friend as comfortable as possible while we waited for the ambulance. We also want to sincerely thank the fellow customers who didn’t hesitate to jump up and help, assisting us in getting our friend on to the floor. Your kindness and quick action made all the difference.
In what was a very distressing and unexpected situation, the support and humanity shown by both the café team and those around us truly helped us get through it. We cannot thank or commend you highly enough. After things had settled and our friend was safely in good hands, we were finally able to sit down, catch our breath, and enjoy the rest of our visit. The coffee was excellent, just what we needed and the lunch we ordered afterward was absolutely delicious. It was a comforting and uplifting end to an otherwise stressful day. Thank you again for everything. We won’t forget your kindness

Honestly not sure what to make of today. Asked for a pot of tea to share between two... Got brought (and charged) 2 pots whilst being told they didn't have any pots large enough to hold two cups of tea.... We got 6 cups of tea from our 2 pots. We ordered a full English and a croissant, waiting over an hour and when we decided we were not waiting any longer, went to pay for our 6 cups of tea. At this point I was told that the breakfast was sat on the side ready, and alas, that were waiting on the croissant for the last hour? I'm unsure where their merchant is but I'd suggest they're closer if a croissant takes 1 hour+ to be prepared! Wish I could have tasted how fantastic it was after all that preparation- compliments to the chef. All in all, decent tea and a full bladder at least! Also.... The pots are plenty large enough Edit:The price of the tea? Fine. We specifically asked for one pot, since we only wanted one cup of tea each. Not sure how that got lost in translation, but okay. I’d love the chance to review the CCTV you mentioned, because frankly, I’m not thrilled about being called a liar on a public platform. Let me know how I can get my hands on that footage. Oh, and about the food – we weren’t given the option to have it served separately or together. So that’s on you. I get it was a busy weekend, but with the amount of time we waited (which, by the way, was WAY longer than the 36 minutes you claim), a little communication from the staff would’ve been nice. Just saying.

The Winery is a chic wine bar and restaurant located in an 11th-century abbey, offering a unique dining experience with its riverside terrace. Despite being close to the town's hustle and bustle, the journey to The Winery is surprisingly peaceful, providing a different perspective of Burton. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options for everyone, including vegan dishes. Visitors praise the excellent service and well-informed staff who enhance the dining experience.
Came here new years eve afternoon as a walk in, service and food good as always, I personally can never resist the starter of crispy beef salad, also the main of the fish pie which is scrummy (note to management never remove this from the menu please) my wife had spicy prawns (starter) and the blade of beef for the mains which she reported was very tender and melted in her mouth, as stated service excellent as always - with thanks to all involved.

Great atmosphere, really good service, food tasted amazing. They had a separate vegetarian and vegan menu, with plenty of dishes to choose from, all courses. The vegan Mushroom Wellington and Soup of the house tasted great! They also had a vegan drinks menu, which is quite nice. Prices could be a bit higher than most places.

Absolutely stunning place. Beautiful location and building, everything fabulously furnished and appointed and spotless. Service extremely friendly and approachable albeit a bit forgetful. Very nice people. Food was tasty but lacked real finesse. All the fish on the seafood trio were overcooked. Kids menu is great with a fair bit of choice. Cocktail menu is excellent with a good wine choice too. Would love to come back on a summer's day and sit in the beautiful garden.

I love this place. Food is amazing. Pricey but so worth it for a special occasion or a treat. Staff are friendly and polite. I used to go to the Abbey when it was still a pub before it was changed into the winery. Always there every Friday night. Nice view of the river outside.

I haven't been to the Winery in 11yrs but visited on Saturday with my mum and Cousin from London. The service was brilliant and the food was probably some of the best food I have tasted. My mum had the steak, my cousin the Lamb and I had the Steak burger. There is a good choice of food on the menu for everyone, including Vegan options. The restaurant was clean and tidy with a comfortable amount of people dining. The staff were really well informed when it came to the food and drinks menu. We also sampled the cocktail menu and we all said how fresh they tasted. It certainly is a place to impress. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

The National Brewery Centre, located in Burton Upon Trent, United Kingdom, is a fascinating destination that offers guided tours to explore the rich history of British brewing. Visitors can delve into the legacy of the Bass family and their significant contribution to the development of brewing techniques. The center provides an immersive experience with shire horses, vintage vehicles, and opportunities to sample ales brewed on site. Additionally, it hosts live music events and festive Christmas parties.
A really wet day what shall we do? The National Brewery Centre in Burton is supposed to be good. So off we went and we where not disappointed. The tour was given by an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide who took us around in just over 1hr 45 minutes. Any questions asked he could answer. At the main desk you were given 3 tokens to try different beers at the end of the tour along with food if you wished. If you so wished you didn't need the guide and could spend as much more time looking and reading about the exhibits at your leisure. Photographs are aloud to remember your day. Take mints with you to feed the shire horses

Very different but interesting and spontaneous 90 minute tour of the old brewery. You get 3 ‘test taste’ tickets to use, 1 ticket gets you a quarter pint to taste, or use all 3 to purchase a beer from the gift shop at the end. Sad to hear this place is fighting to keep the doors open, it’s a good historical place.

We had a Sunday lunch with my in laws and our children. The portions were great, even the children's meals were decent, service was OK (we had too keep asking them for things rather than them being attentive) and we left happy and full. The children had fun on the little play area there too. All in all a lovely meal.

What a brilliant day out...excellent. The music was out standing, the fly pass brilliant to see. And the kids just enjoyed everything. Oh and my little one stole the show, well she really got stuck in with her dancing. Until next time.

Enjoyable day out and tickets were very good value (£12 per adult). You can walk round at your own pace which was nice, there was also a tour going on so worth enquiring about having a guide who can share more of the history and info into the brewing process. The food at the pub within the museum was also very good - hearty food like bangers and mash, and lasagne, as well as sandwiches. Parking was free as well which was super.

Excellent! A must visit place on all real ale fans' bucket lists, especially if you like history and fun:- museum on the Worthington site, memorabilia shop, beer boutique with local ales, escape room and, last but not least, Brewery Tap bar and restaurant with proper pub food - drayman's lunch recommended - and three 1/3 pint sample tickets - there were 6 ales on September 5th, plus lagers and keg and soft for designated drivers. 😁

My dad used to work for Bass so this was a place we always used to visit as a child as he got free entry. I always loved the shire horses. I remember having my 7th birthday party there and a shire horse had a card round its next saying happy 7th birthday Emma. I alot of local brewing history in the museum. Nothing has really changed from when I was a kid. Even the buttons still work on the miniature train tracks :)

The Dial is an elegant dining establishment that offers a diverse range of international flavors on their sharing plates and modern dishes. The restaurant's ambiance is impressive, with just the right amount of lighting and background music. Customers have praised the delicious food, particularly enjoying the tapas menu options. The staff at The Dial are efficient, friendly, and pay great attention to detail. Patrons have raved about the well-cooked meals that are bursting with flavor, such as the superb roast beef dinner.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, vegan options are also available. The vegan burger tasted very good. It came with a side of fries and onion rings, as well as a bit of salad. The couliflower tapas, on the other hand, didn't have much taste. The staff was always available and attentive. The order arrived within a reasonable time. Most of the tables are inside, but they also have a terrace area upstairs. Might be a bit pricey for some.

This was my second visit, and once again, the food was absolutely excellent—consistent in both quality and flavor. The atmosphere is stylish and modern, creating a great dining environment. The selection of beers and IPAs is impressive, with noticeable attention to quality. That said, the experience wasn’t perfect—there seemed to be an issue with the air conditioning, which made the space a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, service was on the slower side. Despite these minor issues, it’s still a fantastic spot overall. I’ll definitely be coming back!

A good restaurant, I recommend visiting. We were there twice in the evening and the last time in the afternoon. The administrator is very attentive, polite and professional, every time it is pleasant to note that the restaurant administration controls the atmosphere in the hall and the service, always helps the waiters. Most of the dishes are perfectly cooked, a little upset by the replacement of octopus with scallops in the menu, but it turned out that the dish was not popular, although it was cooked superbly. We ordered squid, scallops, lamb, burgers, olives with feta, goat cheese on a flatbread, spicy pork meatballs, cheesecake, ice cream and were satisfied. We also liked the sangria. We will definitely come again. P.S. Excellent choice of music for the day and for the evening, it is different and completely matches the time of day.

We often went to this restaurant, and everything was always good and very tasty. But we were there recently, and something changed. We waited longer than usual for our meals. I’ve had this place on my list for a while now. I took the opportunity to book it as a surprise meal for me and my wife 🥘 A stunning restaurant, with a great ambient atmosphere. We got a nice warm welcome and service was offered pretty quickly as opposed to having to wait around. It didn’t take long and the restaurant was ‘buzzing’, it filled up pretty quick which is always a good sign. The menu is very good with extensive options, including a tapas option. The drinks Menu is excellent, including non-alcoholic drinks and Mocktails. We tried the scallops which we’d never tried before, definitely a hit! 👌🏽 This was whilst we waited for our main meal which we were told would be a 40min wait. (At least we knew it was getting cooked fresh). My wife had the steak and I had the Lamb. I’d never tried a lamb dish like this, a very different way of serving Lamb, a dish I enjoyed, but sadly wouldn’t order again. The gravy was far too thin / watery and the chef evidently likes to use the signature pea sauce. The chips with the peppercorn sauce along with the steak complimented each other well. A Beautiful combination. There are many attractive options on the menu, so even if you’re picky there is something for everyone. The dessert Menu has some great options too. Being a diabetic I didn’t want to risk it but definitely would have had the white chocolate pudding. Sadly, right next to our table one of the customers passed out. The Restaurant staff were very accommodating and helpful. They didn’t make a fuss but assisted in getting some help for the young individual. The downside was staff put on the air-con to provide the customer with some cool air, which then meant the rest of the restaurant and food would be affected. (Go Cold 🥶) All in all, a great experience, I can’t fault it. Beautiful Menu, great atmosphere, very good staff and definitely worth it. 💫

Very nice setting and exemplary service. The food was very good, without being amongst the best places I have visited. Couple of niggles would be having the choice of chips or salad with your steak, but after choosing salad seeing the steak comes with salad on the plate anyway so you may aswell go for chips, rather than order an extra side dish of potatoes as I did. Also, the restaurant is very hot inside, could do with turning the temperature down a bit !!! Highlights included the meatballs starter that was delicious and the steaks were of good quality and were cooked very well. The wine list was also very good.

Gurkha Curry Lounge/ Nepalese Indian Restaurant offers a unique blend of flavors from the Himalayan regions of Nepal and India. The team of professional chefs and enthusiastic young entrepreneurs ensure that the food reflects its origins while using the best local English products.
If we could leave 6 stars, we would! This place was incredible. We called up and got a reservation for half an hour later. The restaurant is beautiful, simply stunning the decor was modern and welcoming. The service was spot on, friendly, and accommodating. When we placed our order, we wanted to make a few changes to our dishes, which your waiter serving us made no issue of at all. Our glasses were never empty, very attentive staff. They made our experience very enjoyable The food arrived quickly and was of the highest quality! The taste was sensational. The presentation of all the dishes was perfect, and the portion sizes were very large. Would highly recommend this place to everybody, and we will certainly be making a return visit. It was a gorgeous night out with the yummiest food.

Taste sensation & superb. Thanks Mr Bal, Mr Ali, Chefs & all staff for a lovely evening & gorgeous meal at a reasonable price. Have to say I think Gurkha Curry Lounge is the ONLY place to go in Burton & surrounding area for true Indian & Nepalese food & humble hospitality in clean surroundings. Loved the fresh tasting ingredients of the Garlic Nan & Vegetable curry & no morning after, nasty after taste. I also love that large parties can be privately catered for in their first floor restaurant. Definitely be back so see you soon👋

Best curry around. Won’t hear otherwise!! Dine in or takeaway, both bang on. Great service when dining in, welcoming and homely atmosphere and the staff are just top. Food 10/10, starters are unreal, my personal favourites are the chilli chicken or the salmon tikka. Any kind of lamb curry is to die for, I usually pick a Lamb Bhutuwa. Gurkha beer available, perfect for the food. And if you’re lucky and you’re treated to desert you’ll have to make sure to choose a Punky Penguin ice cream!

Myself and my Partner booked online, but when we got to the restaurant they hadn’t received our booking, so will call next time. Despite this, we were seated within one minute of entering the restaurant. The restaurant is clean, spacious and feels atmospheric. There were three members of staff working the floor, but they were all calm, collected and happy to be there. Truly service with a smile. Our glasses were never empty, they couldn’t do enough for us. We were bought out poppadoms and a pickle tray with our drinks, provided with a hot wash towel to wash our hands and a napkin to put on our laps. Little touches like this made the experience so lovely- although, I was shocked at first because I’ve never received such good service! Our curries came- I’m pregnant so I had to play it safe with the spice, but my butter chicken was gorgeous and the chicken came sliced and marinated, not in dry chunks which is normally the case. I was really impressed by this and for the first time in my pregnancy I enjoyed chicken again! So thank you. My partner went for the Lamb Rogan, which he said was the best curry he has ever tasted. He also had keema naan, which he said was fresh and soft, with plenty of flavour. We shared a side of Bombay Aloo, which is our favourite side. At £4.95 it’s also the cheapest we have found this dish in the area, but it was the most delicious version we have tried. While we ate, there was plenty of privacy to enjoy the meal whilst service remained. When my partner finished his pint of cobra, the waiter asked if he would like a top up. Quick, simple, effective but non disruptive which we appreciated. After our empty dishes were collected, we were given little porcelain plates which a member of staff poured hot water on from a little tea pot. Inside, a little hot cloth rose up which was a really fascinating gesture we were both impressed by. We were given dessert menus and although they looked tempting, we were so full up. We will definitely be returning and will be singing your praises. Thank you so much to the staff at Gurkha, you hosted a brilliant evening for us and we felt very comfortable.

Been there a few times now and never been disappointed. Exquisite food that makes your tastebuds dance with joy and saliva glands flow like Niagara Falls. Personally for me it’s the Lamb Shank dish, spicy but amazing. There’s an excellent verity of dishes to choose from which are beautifully presented. The service is always accompanied with a smile. The dining area is well lit, clean with refreshing white tableware, a cabin style seating area is also available. The price is reasonable. We visited on a Thursday at 6pm, come 8pm it was full. I would suggest booking a book a table. I highly recommend without any hesitation.

Great little proper boozer in Burton. The landlady was friendly and obliging. Good pint of Guinness served. Locals were also friendly. Can imagine it's good fun at nighttime. We popped in Saturday lunchtime and it wasn't very busy. Not sure if they serve food.

Always friendly and a nice atmosphere here. I've never had food - always come in for a drink. But it's always lovely.
Emy L — Google review
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and comfortable seating, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. The menu had a decent variety, with some unique drinks and pastries that stood out. However, the service was a bit inconsistent. While the staff was friendly, it took longer than expected to get our order, and one of the items was incorrect. The food itself was good but not exceptional—my sandwich was tasty but slightly overpriced for the portion size. The coffee, though, was a highlight, with a rich flavor that I really enjoyed.

Stumbled upon this cosy little cafe after my yoga class and I can't believe I haven't been here sooner! I totally missed out! ❤️Amazing food with delicious vegan (and gluten free) options, both savoury and sweet, including (decaf) coffee with plant based oat or soya mylk! The decor is so warm and welcoming, music from 70's-80's adds to the atmosphere, and last but definitely not least, the staff is sooooo friendly and accommodating! Did I mention the place is doggy friendly and they even have doggy menu available!!! 5/5 and beyond 🥰🥰🥰 One happy customer and I will be coming more often for sure!

Waited an hour and a half which ok its Saturday but the food was stone cold! Ordered a pickle tray with poppadoms there was no lime pickle, ordered a mixed kebab starter and the lamb had more knuckles then Tyson Fury!! Definitely never again

What a shame, I've ordered food from here via delivero multiple times and the food has always been very good. I placed a large order £80 and thought I would order direct as I wanted to support this small business. I rang my order through and clearly stated that one of the meals had an allergy. This meal has arrived containing this allergen and I rang the restaurant for a resolution. They accused me of lying and stated that the only way they would rectify this issue would be if I paid an additional charge for the meal. This was after paying in cash (their preference) and tipping the driver. I therefore cannot recommend this establishment if you have allergies and I would recommend you go elsewhere, this is a real shame as the food has always been nice. They have lost a loyal customer this evening.

Friend and I went here on Wednesday. No welcome when came in and the man in the suite, really didn't seem to want us there. Anyway, had the order taken, garlic chilli chicken, chicken balti, naan bread, pilau rice and garlic fried rice. Bar having wrong rice, which was corrected straight away Food was very good, plenty of taste and chicken. Would we go back, yes and hope the man in the suite was more welcoming and happier when we left. Just to note, wasn't asked if food was ok or wanted more drinks at all. Service needs improving.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Joannas Dance Academy. Water Parks
Branston Water Park is a tranquil spot with dog-friendly paths, a visitor center, and abundant wildlife. It's part of the Burton at Trent Washlands and offers beautiful walks along the canal and gravel pits. The park features seating, picnic areas, and a children's playground. Visitors can enjoy feeding geese, ducks, swans, and other birds while taking in stunning wildlife like rabbits, foxes, fish, and frogs.
A lovely walk around the lake. We heard so many different birds and I found my new bird app added interest to the walk. Very relaxing and a friendly cafe at the end ( or beginning).
Lynda — Google review
Nice easy walk around the lake. Friendly little cafe offering a choice of sandwiches and toasted ones plus other snacks and teas and coffees. If you have little ones, a nice play area and ample parking too. One little portakabin type of loo.
Janette R — Google review
Located next to the A38 (traffic noise is minimal and then only near the car park) the park offers beautiful scenery and several walking route options. It's possible to cycle to Barton Marina in about 20 minutes (or a good hour's walk) plus routes to many other local places and beauty spots. The Hub cafe offers an excellent choice of hot & cold drinks as well as great food (hot and cold). The new toilet block was long overdue but is ideal. There are plenty of fishing spots, plentiful parking and almost limitless photo opportunities.
Dave K — Google review
May 2025 This is a great place to take the family. There's a lovely cafe and two super clean toilets just by a large free car park. A well maintained path is good for walkers, runners, or cyclists and goes all around the water Near the cafe is an adventure playground and a picnic spot with several beaches. Branston Water Park lies just by The Trent and Mersey Canal, so you can do a spot of boat watching at a lock
Jeremy T — Google review
Great short walk around the pond, great food at the canteen with a couple of tables. Plenty of parking. Easy walk with clear path easy for elderly, zimmers and wheelchairs
Randall H — Google review
A lovely little secluded lake just minutes away from the main road. The lake is lovely and there's a nice walk around the lake which is around 1.5 miles and there are lots of benches all the way round either for a little rest or just to sit and enjoy the quiet. For anyone who enjoys fishing there are pegs around half of the lake which is for members only and some of the pegs are really spacious to set out all your equipment and at least 1 disabled peg. There are lots of ducks, geese & swans on the lake which are lovely to sit and watch. In the car park (free parking) there is also a little cafe selling hot & cold drinks, ice creams & snacks with a few tables outside. It's a lovely relaxing little spot especially in the sunshine.

Dance school
Joanna’s Dance Academy is a beloved dance school where children of all ages have the opportunity to grow in confidence and ability through dance. The dedicated teachers and helpers are praised for their amazing work, helping shy children come out of their shells and nurturing their passion for dance. Students eagerly anticipate their classes each week, excited to be part of a supportive group that fosters creativity and builds healthy confidence.
After my daughter tried a lot of activities, dancing it’s her favorite so far❤️ At Joanna’s Dance Academy she has been learning to be more confident, creative and she have a lot of fun! She loves her teacher and everything they do there! I recommend 100% if you want your child to have the best dance experience ever ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Jo! You are changing lives!❤️
Nicoleta T — Google review
My 5 year old daughter has always wanted to dance, but with her having additional sensory needs and getting easily over whelmed I was hesitant. I came accross the JDA facebook page and thought it looked brilliant. So, we braved it and gave it a go. I had been worrying needlessly! My little girl was made so welcome and Joanna embraced her for who she is, quirks and all! Never did I think that my little girl who hates loud noises would actually fall in LOVE with her dance classes and even dance at Party in the Park! She has learnt so much and continues to fall deeper in love with dancing, this is mainly due to the way Joanna teaches her students and treats them all as individuals, not just as another number! Thank you Joanna for helping make her dream become a reality 🥰
Victoria H — Google review
Having tried a few dance schools in the area we finally found Joanna's and both my girls settled in straight away. I am so pleased they are happy here.
Aimee S — Google review
My daughter has been attending since last year and she absolutely loves her classes with Joanna. When she first joined she wouldn't even speak and hide behind my leg as she was so shy. Now she's super sassy at the front of the class shaking her little butt and got her first dance exam pass at just 6yrs old! So grateful that Joanna has brought her out of her shell and given her a hobby she loves 💃
Kay S — Google review
Fantastic dance school at a very affordable price. My daughter was a very shy child and through Joanna’s lessons has become a bright bubbly kid with such an enthusiasm for dance. I cannot express how much the benefit outweighs the cost of Joanna’s classes.
Danny B — Google review
I have danced with Jo since i was 2 from being in a dance class together to now being taught by her, I can really see her growth and passion for dance. Jo is an amazing dance teacher who works so hard for all of her students so we can gain experiences needed to get a career in dance. The amount of effort and time Jo puts in really does show from all the students when performing in the annual show.
Kendra F — Google review
My son has been dancing with Jo since he was 4. He absolutely loves it, the teachers and helpers are amazing. He enjoys dancing in the shows and gets so excited when he passes his Rainbow exams. He has a smile on his face every week, like they all do, Jo included and he can’t wait for Saturday to come round. He has grown so much in confidence and ability from the little boy treading on my toes in front of Strictly. No one will ever stop him dancing He started as the only boy now there are 3 of them and they are good friends outside of dancing too. If your son wants to dance don’t hold them back or worry about it be another proud dancing mom
Liz S — Google review
My daughter has been going to Jo’s dance classes for a few months now and it’s been the hi light of her week from day one. She loves being part of the group and it’s such a healthy and creative confidence building outlet for her. Jo is the loveliest person and such a fantastic role model for the kids too.

Muffin Break in Burton is a delightful cafe with amazing staff and delicious food. Visitors rave about their hot chocolate, milkshakes, toasties, and cakes. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly service make it a top choice for many. The baristas are highly skilled, offering exceptional flat whites in various sizes. Additionally, the loyalty card system makes it even more appealing to frequent customers.
Been in for the first time and pleasantly surprised the muffins were great! The Mars and Caramel muffin was delicious with lots of caramel inside. You could tell they were freshly baked as they had a lovely crispy outside and soft inside. They were quite heavy and stodgy, but in a good way. Really filling. The lemon was also nice with big load of sugar cream on top. Lovely zesty tang. The dubai chocolate milkshake was nice! As was the pistachio and creme frappe! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Been beatten to the cream. Cappuccino heaven. Very busy for a Sunday afternoon with all ages. Cheese cake Biscoff, very nice. Comfortable surroundings. Clean and well kept place. Bit of music. Enjoyed. There are plenty of good reviews far better than mine that have been written from the heart. Thank to all the staff.

They don't come any better than this lovely welcoming cafe. The very sight of the cake display counter on entering is a delight indeed. The staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming with a Barista qualification to match the very best, and outshine most. As a lover of 'Flat Whites', they are at the very pinnacle. Where else are flat whites advertised as small, medium or large. Most cafes/coffee-bars do not even offer a large. They should come here to watch and learn. I tried a Blueberry Muffin which was very fresh and crammed with fruit. My friend had toasted ham and cheese sandwich with tea which also scored a 5 star rating. Very fast service too.

Milkshakes we're nice, but they should be for the price. Anaemic toasties. Staff with zero interest in providing a good customer experience, and a desire to make as much noise as possible banging crockery. There is no atmosphere in the place. Very disappointed.
Keith L — Google review
Coffee was okay but the atmosphere is chaotic at best and headache-inducing at worst. Staff throwing plates and cutlery in the dishwasher, people shouting over the ruckus.
Daniel W — Google review
Awful. Had 3 full full breakfasts. Bacon was rock hard like very old bacon just reheated. Toast served no butter even the toast was rubbery. Came out but beans with cold to touch so they just heated beans and bought original breakfast out. And for the price I certainly will not be recommending it.
Kayleigh — Google review
I got an iced matcha, and it was practically milk. Then I got a muffin, it was ok. But the prices at this place, I know this sounds dramatic, is crazy. A sub par iced matcha and a dry muffin cost me around £8! The lady who served me was quite nice, but her matcha skills were not as good as her attitude. Not worth £8.

Stapenhill Gardens, situated on the former grounds of Stapenhill House, were gifted to the town in 1933. The gardens are known for their iconic concrete swan and vibrant floral displays. Visitors can also explore the nearby Trent Washlands or enjoy a boat ride on the River Trent aboard the charming 'Dingle Belle.' Despite some seasonal changes to flower beds and occasional issues with lighting, Stapenhill Gardens offers a serene escape within a bustling urban area.
Beautiful location for family visits. People of all ages will find a visit to this park relaxing as the garden is large and there's ample space for everyone to have a good time. Whether it's spending some time with the Swan at the water front, taking a walk in the gardens, having a picnic or simply spending fun times with your children at the playground. It was a beautiful experience and I would definitely visit again.

Ground floor is more than often busy so we decided to sit upstairs. Very cosy and warm with eye catching decorations. Breakfast was served piping hot and the masala was just perfect. Crunchy hash browns, succulent fried tomatoes and fried mushrooms made it that little bit more satisfying. Not tasted a breakfast this good in a while. Service was very good and came with a smile. Highly recommend a visit for a quick bite at a very reasonable price. I’m sure it won’t be our last visit.

I would eat here again, food wasn't anything special and slightly pricing for what it was. But, decent portions, enough seating and in a nice area close to a walk around some greenery. They were happy to customise my order slightly to fit in with my requirements.

I really had a good time. My friend and I came in for a hot drink and snack each. The pricing was good and the staff, Ihsaan noor ul hassan were very good and quick. They are such stars.

Pick our daughter up from the college over the road. Popped in for a meal. Full English Breakfast, jacket potato with chilli con carne and zinger burger with fries. All meals were brought out nice and hot. Staff were friendly and helpful. The seating area was clean and comfortable.

Nestled in a charming locale, Stapenhill Cafe is a delightful spot that promises an enjoyable dining experience. The cafe boasts a pristine environment and offers quick, friendly service that makes you feel right at home. On my visit, I indulged in their mega breakfast, which was generously portioned and included delicious options like black pudding and your choice of fried bread or toast. While I opted for a simple sausage sandwich paired with tea, the English breakfasts served to other patrons looked absolutely mouthwatering!
What a gem! This place is spotless clean and service is fast and friendly. Only had a sausage sandwich and a cuppa, but the English breakfast everyone else was eating looked excellent and lots of it too

Great breakfast and great prices. It’s nice to come across a breakfast thats got medium portions but has one of everything. Sausage could have been nicer.

Used to be the best cafe, but as gone down hill in my opinion. Service and waiting times are crazy. When busy you shouldnt be taking telephone orders as you can't cope with what's in the cafe it's self. Quality takes a hit when your busy.

Italian restaurant
Pub
Tucked away alongside the picturesque Trent and Mersey Canal, The Bridge Inn is a delightful pub restaurant that serves up an array of delectable Italian dishes and succulent steaks. With a menu crafted by a passionate owner, diners can indulge in classic pizzas and pastas, as well as unique specialty offerings featuring locally-sourced matured steaks and fresh fish. Guests rave about their experiences here; one visitor praised the salmon ravioli as the best pasta dish they've ever had!
Visited here on a Friday evening with no reservation, but a table was available in the outside marquee. Food was great, the mussels starter was excellent. Service was ok and the outside marquee is a great extension to the pub, but the temperature swings from hot to cold as the heater comes on and off. Parking fulls up quick, but there is plenty of road parking. Certainly worth a visit.

Took my Dad here for a Sunday meal out, the service was excellent as was the food, we have been here several times for drinks but this was our first meal here, will definitely go again. The staff are very friendly and the sisters are jokers.......very nice place.

We love this place and are here very regularly, the portions are very generous and value for money is brilliant. The staff are fantastic and the food is exceptional. We booked the marquee for our wedding reception in May and had a beautiful hog roast. We had a number of Vegan and Vegetarian guests and the team were more than happy to accommodate and make the menu flexible to cater for this.. The Bridge Inn helped to make our day extra special and everybody loved the food and atmosphere :D

Lovely pub situated not far from Burton upon Trent town centre, not the largest of pubs and would recommend you book as not to be disappointed - it gets busy. Excellent selection of Italian food, ordered from the lunch time set menu which was 3 courses for £25. Good selection, food was great full of flavour and freshness. Welcoming and friendly staff, well worth a visit.

Steak house
Miller & Carter Burton is a popular choice for special occasions and group gatherings. Customers have praised the excellent service provided by attentive and friendly staff members such as Rebecca, Wez, and Evelina. The restaurant offers top-quality food at reasonable prices, with particular recommendations for starters like calamari and scallops. While some diners found the ambiance pleasant and enjoyed their meals, others felt that the space was better suited for larger groups due to table size and steak cooking preferences.
We had a wonderful meal. Every course was delicious and the service was perfect. Thanks so much for looking after us Hallie 😊. Really liked the attention to detail too - polished glasses and cutlery. Also we had the date night 3 courses for £35 - excellent value. Wine was very nice too. Looking forward to returning.

Located on the outskirts of Burton a fantastic, warm and welcoming service awaited us on our arrival. Plenty of free parking available, just remember to log your car registration at the reception register screen. It wasn’t our first visit and it wouldn’t be our last. Miller and Carter visits are for the special occasions only. We were looked after by Paige who had a wonderful smile, extremely polite and courteous. A credit to the restaurant. We opted for Mocktails for drinks and a three course meal. Our starters were Salt & Pepper Calamari and the absolutely delicious Stuffed Yorkshire Pudding with Short beef rib shin and Brisket. Highly recommended. Main was Sea Bass Fillet with an assortment of vegetables and a Lemon and a Caramel Biscuit Torte to finish off. An all round delicious experience and the bell had to be rung as a compliment for the kitchen staff. Quality food and service every time.

We decided to go to Miller and Carter in Burton as a last minute spontaneous decision and we certainly did not regret it. The service was great with their servers paying real attention to your experience, the food was prepared perfectly to the point where nobody in our party spoke a word once it arrived and the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. This was our first time at a Miller and Carter despite always wanting to visit and it certainly won’t be our last. If you find yourself in Burton give this establishment a visit, you’ll be grateful that you did!

So glad we found this place. Absolutely amazing. Staff was super friendly, all glasses and cutlery polished, nice atmosphere and of course most important the food, it was perfect! I’m a steak lover and I try them everywhere I go. This time I picked the 50 day dry aged Black Angus fillet and put it against a standard 30 day dry aged fillet. I must admit there was a noticeable difference in flavour and texture. The 50 day one melted like butter and had richer taste. Definitely recommend trying. We will be coming back for another date night and some incredible food. Thanks to all the staff and compliments to the chef.
Michal P — Google review
Luxurious Treat - Great value lunch menu, of a real quality meal. Love the steaks and their presentation. The service is always tip top and the food is delicious. The iceberg lettuce wedges are surprisingly tasty and something I so look forward to. The onion rosti's are amazing, hard to say why they are so good, they just are. The chips are also fab.
Jody B — Google review
We were a party of 8 adults and 2 children. The drinks took a little while to arrive, but for those that had starters, they didn't take too long to arrive. The mains however took over an hour to arrive which was a bit frustrating when others were being served before us, even tho they arrived after us. When the mains arrived the chips and the veg were cold. One meal was sent back as the food was cold and one person just ate the food despite it not being very hot. They did bring out fresh chips and a fresh meal for my wife which was hot. Some of us had sticky toffee pudding with custard. Mine was a bit dry and the custard a bit runny abd hust warm, not hot. The young man who served us was excellent and apologetic for the food which was obviously not his fault. They did give us some free drinks and took the service charge off the bill (which is optional) though we did leave a tip for our waiter. The food was really nice when it was hot but, for a restaurant that is regarded as the top end of eateries, there is room for improvement in the delivery of the food so that it is hot on arrival. For the price I thought the service could have been better.
JeffnDee ( — Google review
Had a good time at Miller & Carter, steak was delicious and value for money, I absolutely loved the strawberry ice cream as well. Didn’t like the prawn cocktail I ordered partly because that wasn’t what I imagined it to be, it was peeled prawn with mayonnaise I believe, wasted about £8 on that. Other than that the ambience was lovely and cozy and every other thing including the service was good.
Omolade S — Google review
Awful experience steak was over done and should have been medium as suggested by staff. It was well done. This was for my son’s 21st. I was told my meal would be another 10 minutes after the chef had apologised what was the point my husband and son would have been finished. So I refused to eat. When I asked the general manager as a manager myself why all three would not have been replaced so we could eat together I was told that’s not what we do. Awful dining experience, dreadful for a birthday I’d have gone to the corner house down the road which is greene king for better food! Bins over flowing in front of us, splatters all over the ceiling. If the option was zero it would be helpful as I will never be returning.

The Pirelli Stadium, home to the Brewers football team, offers various community sports and education projects. The venue provides a bright and airy room with a view of the pitch, along with well-maintained grounds adorned with fitting decorations. There is an array of historic Burton FC memorabilia on display. Additionally, larger function rooms and suites equipped with stages and technical facilities are available for parties and events.
We enjoyed hospitality in Box 5 for a recent game and I must say yet again it was outstanding. The menu was Carrot and Orange Soup, Chicken Supreme, followed by mousse and tea or coffee. With a cheeseboard at half time. A great night and superbly looked after as always.

Yeh another good ground. Great location. Such great facilities. Stewards well under control accents are brilliant over here and they are all friendly. Burgers chips hot dogs beers all sold in the ground turnstiles open at decent time.

Absolute dump and I mean dump. Most of the seats are covered in fossilised bird turd. People were nice and local pubs were class but ground needs a wash. 🤣

Always a friendly place to go. The trace stand for visiting fans is low, but you can make a good noise due to the low roof. Catering ok, there’s a small bar for away fans. Stewards are very welcoming in general.

Went in hospitality in the Albion Suite for the Birmingham City game on Easter Monday afternoon. As always it was top drawer food but they have now added interviews with players or ex players and also later on the Man of the Match. The menu today was Moroccan Lamb or a vegetarian option. It was truly first class. Sad to see the nonsense below about dirty seats - this is a smart modern ground, built in 2005 and has been extremely well kept over the years.

Superb facility with everything you need whether it's watching a game or having a function such as a business meeting, celebrating or wider. Easy parking, easy access and great staff. Highly recommended

Enjoyed our time here at this lovely football ground. The pitch was perfect, a lovely playing surface. The stands are great, we were behind the goal, really good food and drinks outlets, and real world prices too. There is a lot of parking around the ground, and it is very well placed just a coupe of miles from the A38. Super friendly stewards, and a great view of the game. Well done Burton Albion.

Claymills Victorian Pumping Station is a fascinating museum located in Burton upon Trent, showcasing the engineering innovation of Victorian England. Originally built in 1885 to pump brewery effluent, it has been meticulously restored and now offers tours and talks for visitors interested in its rich history. The station is an integrated industrial site that provides insight into the area's brewing heritage, with plenty of space to explore different rooms filled with quirky items.
This was a fantastic museum to visit, showing the history of sewage pumping industrially! The pumps from across time are shown and it is detailed how they worked as separate parts in the process, or clogs in the machine should I say, featuring many different sizes and styles of pumps. More intense machinery from the process is shown too and miniature houses from the prime era are a neat touch, appreciate things like the mock coal wagon and boiler room too!

This was great! What these volunteers have achieved - mostly on a shoestring - is incredible. And I hadn’t known that, along with the historic pumping engines, Claymills is also home to the oldest working dynamo in Britain and, according to staff, possibly Europe. I’d recommend going on a steaming day (usually bank holiday weekends) to see the pumps in action. Nice cafe too!
George M — Google review
Visited on a steam rally weekend. Really enjoyed coming here. Make sure you go for the talk which explains the history of the station - very informative. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of space to move around and see the different rooms. Cafe had some tasty fresh sandwiches and superb cake. There is also a second hand book shop - some really good books in there. The engines in the main room are switched on at specific times. Lots of small rooms with quirky items. Man showing his apple collection was amazing. This is a great day out and really enjoyed it.
Hywel M — Google review
Steaming days are always the best. First-time visitor at Claymills, and I wasn't disappointed. A great welcome from the volunteers. They sure know how to lay on a great day. The usual facilities onsite and the cafe was great. It's amazing what the Victorian generation left us. A massive shout out and a round of applause to the volunteers that keep these amazing engines running. The smell and smooth running are fabulous 👌 I could have sat all day watching them run. For all steam engine enthusiasts, this is a must-see. It was great seeing the old vehicles, too😊 A perfect day was had by the three of us.
Lynn ( — Google review
A fantastic place to visit. We went on a non steam day, started off on a guided tour, which was really informative and at a nice pace, it wasn't rushed. After the tour time is your own. All the volunteers were friendly and very approachable, there's a lot to see here! A must for anyone with the slightest of interest, 4 beam engines, 5 boilers, a workshop, forge, dynmo house and more. Can't wait to go back on a steam day.

Visited on a none steaming day in April 25 with my motorcycle club from (Tamworth & District Classic Motorcycle Club) Tamworth. Great venue and an impressive living museum. Nice cafe. Expert guides showed us round the various parts of the pumping station. Very enjoyable few hours had by all.

Fantastic Victorian industrial masterpiece to visit for all the family. Friendly atmosphere with knowledgeable volunteer staff. Steaming & non steaming days & events throughout the year. Open from 10am until 5pm. Recommended

A hidden gem if you are into anything steam powered. I had no idea that this pumping station has the largest collection of working steam engines that all used to be from this area. The volunteers are really knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. We spent a good 3 hours looking at the various engines and machine rooms. Ask to see the bathroom!

Stunning petting farm, great space for the kids. Been over the years and most recently April 25. Clean and friendly place. Food is yummy and reasonably priced. Entry price is amazing and animal feed is very reasonable. Parking can get busy and full fast. No hills and appears easy accessible Definitely recommend

We visited here today (3 adults and 1 toddler). The food was nice and tasty. Staff were accommodating. The farm was lovely and you could see how well the animals are looked after. There’s a really good play area with a sand pit. It’s a great secure space for kids - as long as the entry/exit gate is kept closed! I can’t believe it took us so long to visit but I can most definitely say we’ll be back soon. Thanks!

What a lovely place, definitely a little gem. Not been before and will be back. Good size place for little ones and love the outside play area too. We came for other little ones first birthday. Cafe is Ace, good selection of food and gorgeous cakes, very cute children's cutlery 😁😁

delicious food, rude staff, and not just to us, a general unwelcoming attitude, rather uncouth, bad H&S too, bucket and mop and wet floor on way to toilets making it dangerous to navigate and staff just stand and look this was at 4.20. they do not close until 5pm apparently. packing up ready to close from about 4pm onwards, customers just get in the way attitude. very strange have been here three times and the same each time. the children love the animals who are the saving grace and most friendly! I will add that the staff on the farm are excellent very chatty, helpful and warm.

Lovely little farm and tearoom, ideal for a couple of hours. There's various animals from rabbits, guinea pigs through to alpacas and ponies. A large covered sand pit area, lots of little ride on toys, petting areas, a beautiful little library full of books and a little bench to read plus a play area too. Everywhere is well sign posted and information boards on the enclosures. There is a cafe / restaurant and gift shop available onsite. Staff are all very friendly. We enjoyed our visit and can recommend.

Visited with our 3-year old yesterday, who thoroughly enjoyed the visit. A range of animals including pigs, goats, alpacas, pony's, chickens and ducks that can be fed, as well as rabbits and guinea pigs that can be handled with staff-assistance. A good-sized park with slides, climbing frame and ride-on toys for kids of all ages as well as a shop and cafe too. Well worth a visit.

Really lovely cafe with plenty of veggie options and nice kids food too. The farm itself is small but perfect for toddlers or little ones. There's lots of animals to feed and stroke. We especially loved the rabbits and guinea pigs. There's a great play area (which we spent most of the time in as the kids loved it!) With lots of bikes/scooters and a massive sandpit. Plenty of outdoor space for picnics in the summer too. We will definitely be going back. Great value too.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Sam's BBQ & Bakes. This gem is perfect for anyone craving mouthwatering barbecue and baked goods. With a diverse menu that includes favorites like the Tribbiani sandwich and the BBQ Bad Boy chicken and beef, there's something to satisfy every palate. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave feeling full and satisfied.
I nipped into Sam’s BBQ & Bakes whilst shopping in town, and said to Sam I will be ordering the next day for takeaway night.. And I am so glad I did, I ordered the BBQ Bad Boy beef + Large Mac and Cheese. The Food was very nice and filling, as portions were big! The Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Made you feel really comfortable, I will be definitely returning!

Visited Sam’s BBQ & Bakes after a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Inside and out and was extremely clean and inviting and the menu is in the window which makes it easy to choose whilst not feeling obligated or rushed. The staff are lovely and extremely accommodating and even allowed us to stay inside to eat after closing time. I didn’t catch their names but they were genuinely lovely and wanted to make sure our food was good. I had the Mac & cheese with brisket and Sam’s BBQ sauce and it was lovely. The Mac & cheese was creamy and tasty with a lovely cheese crust and the crispy onions paired perfectly. The brisket was some of the best I’ve tried and they don’t skimp on the portion size, the house bbq sauce is a perfect finish. The brownies and cookies also look incredible and pricing is surprisingly really good. Would 100% recommend and hope this business do well and stick around.

The food from here is out of the world. I have only ever tried pork belly cooked to perfection, like this, from one other place. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I would definitely recommend sams bakes and definitely the mac and cheese with pork belly.
Lauren N — Google review
Ordered at 12:35, order didn’t turn up until 15:00. Original delivery time was 13:45. I only ordered a cob and a cookie. Judging by the tracking, it took them nearly two hours to even begin preparing the food. By the time it arrived I had already ordered somewhere else, eaten and still had 30 minutes to play with. The food was given to a colleague. Disgraceful service.

Sam's BBQ is a unique smokey experience of flavour that you won't get from any other takeaway in swadlincote it's just unmatched! The price reflects into the food it self from the time it's taken to smoke and rest to delivery to your door if smoking food was an art I think Sam has truly mastered that art

Been hearing good things about Sam's BBQ & Bakes and it did not disappoint! Great sized portions and reasonable price for the quality and size. Staff are friendly and the place looks great, very clean, inviting and nice décor. I ordered a BBQ pulled pork toasted sandwich on a brioche roll and it was VERY good. My friend ordered mac n cheese and the portions are big, definitely something you could share as a side order. We had to wait a little while, but we hadn't pre-ordered and it was smack in the middle of lunchtime so that's to be expected as they were already busy. Would definitely recommend and will be back again soon.

McDonald's is a timeless fast-food institution that has been delighting customers with its iconic burgers and crispy fries for decades. During a recent visit, I decided to try the drive-through for breakfast. Although it took a bit longer than expected, which was unusual for me, the food was absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my meal was served hot and fresh. Overall, my experience at McDonald's was enjoyable, showcasing their commitment to quick service without compromising on quality.
One of my favourite McDonalds as they do the deliver to car service and all the car park spaces are numbered for delivery. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Also the service is always fast and the food is fresh and hot. This store seems to be the main on in Burton, even open on Christmas day. Any issue just let the staff know and they are more than happy to fix and compensate. Love the wrap of the day!

Always, without a doubt have something missing from an order with this McDonald’s and it’s always the fault of someone else. How hard can it be to make sure that the whole order is in the bag. Need proper training.
Katrina C — Google review
Got the order wrong at drive thru (with one meal missing). Wouldn't / couldn't correct so had to go round a second time, by which time original food cold. Avoid this restaurant.
Kevin S — Google review
Actually hard to believe how much better Branston McDonalds is than this one. Something is always wrong without fail. Got charged double recently (asked me to scan twice as the first time “didn’t go through”). Finally given up with this store after wasting £10 and driving off with a totally incorrect breakfast order. Franchisee and manager need to give their head a wobble. Avoid, just go to Branston.
Rob G — Google review
Very rude staff. Got into an argument with the lady on the counter as she tried to charge me 10p for a dip to take away yet they’re free if you sit in…! Said she was going to get her manager, who was even more of a let down than the lady serving. Slow service and all customers waiting were saying the same thing. There’s another McDonalds not that far from here, I’d go to that if I were you..!

Maybe.” Welcome to McDonald’s: where the ice cream machine is always on holiday, your burger arrives colder than your ex’s heart, and the staff in the kitchen act like they’re filming a TikTok instead of cooking food. On a rare planetary alignment, your fries might be hot. Most of the time, though? Lukewarm sadness in a soggy paper bag. Missing items are included free of charge, and “service with a smile” has been replaced with “service with an eye roll.” It’s like they’re running a social experiment to see how long people will pay for disappointment. Spoiler: I failed.

everytime i've ordered from here through just eat i've been disappointed. i ordered the katsu chicken wrap and it was all thrown together with not a care at all. i work in fast food and i always ensure that all food prepared is made with care and passion, made correctly and in a presentable manner, yet this wrap was clearly made in a rush (even tho i ordered it at 11:30pm) my large fries also arrived cold, and though i do realise the temperature of the food isn't always the restaurant's fault when delivering, i ordered before directly through the mcdonald's app to a further place and food arrived freshly warm. never have i been satisfied with food from this place. i also ordered two brownies in my just eat order and they did not come, it is not hard to forget two items when the receipt comes out the just eat machine presenting all the items ordered, and is even on the bag. this is the second time i've ordered from here thru just eat and both times i have had food missing. it is not a hard job to get it right. after i had received my food and realised i had items missing, i rang up this place just to be told by some lad that i need to contact customer support on just eat, yet it is the restaurant's clear fault for not including the food ordered, as they are the ones preparing the meals and items, not the people delivering: it is clear that they are just unbothered and careless to make good food. overall, just don't even bother with this place. i am disappointed once again

Ordered £36 worth of food for me and my mum and I’m missing a burger with the chips being freezing cold. I called up and the lady said only way to resolve is through the app as that’s where I ordered from. It doesn’t allow me make complaints as the robot is glitching and not letting me send messages. What do I do? Customer service on the app is terrible so looks like it’s yet ANOTHER loss for the customer.

Family restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, the Stanhope Arms Table Table is a chic chain pub that offers a delightful array of classic international dishes, grilled specialties, and mouth-watering burgers. A standout on their menu is the Big Stack Burger, which has garnered quite a following among patrons. For dessert lovers, options like Sticky Toffee Pudding and Caramel Apple Betty promise to satisfy any sweet tooth.
A gem inside. Friendly (Dan) staff serving really great value lunchtime meals. A terraced deck overlooking peaceful greenery made a pleasant lunch setting. 10/10

I visited The Stanhope Arms on Saturday 15th February 2025. I was very disappointed as we booked a table for 7pm and the kitchen stops serving at 8pm so we couldn’t have dessert. We did not know this when booking. The food was mediocre and garlic bread and onion rings were hard. When we first arrived we were told hotel guests had priority. We had booked a table but should not be told a hotel guest is more important. The restaurant needs a make over. Seats were ripped and a soap dispenser was missing the case in the toilets. The was one waitress having to serve drinks, take food orders and bring food to the table. No staff. Had I known the restaurant was closing early I would not have booked as we could not have desserts and this was for a special occasion. Head Office don’t give a toss and ignored my email.

We had a terrible experience. We arrived 12.20, ordered 12.40. This was alright, as we were due to arrive at 12.30 but were a bit early. My 13 year old brother has Sausage and mash, peas and corn on the cobs. My 7 year old brother and my mother both had the 3 mixed meats roast dinner and I had just the beef roast dinner. The food arrived 1.58pm, so we waited for over an hour, which probably would have been longer if my mum hadn’t complained to the staff about the wait. I’d also like to add that several other people who arrived long after us were served before us, many ordering the roast dinners too. The menus do not have prices on them, so you don’t even know the cost of what you’re ordering. Also, as it was Mother’s Day, we were only given the Mother’s Day menu and the children’s menu, so there was a significant lack of options to choose from. Our meals turned out to be £65.49, which is atrocious considering how underwhelming it was. The food was lukewarm at best. The potatoes were soggy and, rather than tasting ‘crispy’ (which the menu claims) and fresh, they tasted like they had been previously frozen. The Beef was chewy and near to inedible. I have braces in and couldn’t eat the beef on my plate, as it was so chewy that it would get stuck on my brackets, causing me to keep choking. The mash, carrots and peas tasted boiled and were not rememberable and the gravy was watery (a jelly-like substance poured out of the cup, too, but I forgot to picture it). The carrots also looked to be somewhat dirty, which can be a food hazard as soil can cause food poisoning. My seven year old brother and mother were not served Yorkshire puddings or stuffing with their roasts. My mum asked the servers about this and they said that they would bring some Yorkshire puddings out for them, but those never came. My 13 year old brother’s meal did not come with 2 corn on the cobs, but 1, despite the menu saying that he would have 2. We asked about the dessert at 2.10pm and it arrived at 2.26pm. Not too bad, but we did order it when we ordered our main meals and we wouldn’t have had it delivered if we didn’t ask. I had the triple brownie off of the Mother’s Day menu, my mother had the apple betty thing, my thirteen year old brother had the brownie off of the kids menu and the youngest wanted just a vanilla ice cream. The younger of my brothers was delivered a brownie, which we said could be returned as he ordered ice cream. The servers insisted that my thirteen year old brother had that brownie alongside the one that he already had. He wasn’t hungry, but they left it with him anyway. Food was wasted in this process, as none of us were hungry for another brownie. We also weren’t delivered spoons with the puddings and had to ask for those, too. I will say that the desserts were all nice, but they do not make up for the disgraceful main meals. The furniture and environment were lacking; the cutlery laid out was dirty and the drinks were served in dirty glasses. The people serving were nice and patient, but the general speed and quality of the place is terrible. I don’t expect much from a pub, but this was genuinely appalling, especially considering the cost of it. They also insisted my mother’s ‘25% off of the food bill’ voucher was only for one meal, so it only took £3 off of the bill when it should have been 25% off of the total! They advertise on their website that if you sign up, you get 25% off (which I will add a picture of below). The lady did take £10 off of the meal for the inconvenience of our experience. One of the waitresses also offered us a round of free drinks, as an apology for the mess of a time. The only thing that is saving this place is the people serving. We were there for well over two hours.

Not many people in when we visited but they had been very busy with 2 functions before we arrived. Service was good, friendly staff who took the time to chat to us. Meals were very nice, will definitely go again.

Just been for fathers day meal.... really good value for money and staff friendly... tho like most places short staffed... food was lovely and plenty of it.... 6 clean plates... consisting of three Sunday carvery.. beef and ale pie... fish pie fish cake and smoother chicken.... all cooked lovely. We will return x

Great venue especially if you have young children, food isn’t the best to put it lightly. I had a “smash burger” which wasn’t smashed, no point calling it a smashed burger. Wife had the citrus salmon which was full of bones. £8.25 for a slice of bread with some tomatoes on is absolutely insane (bruschetta). Again if you have children it’s great as has play areas outside. Just thought I’d be honest with my food review as it’s quite a big part of the reason for coming out for the afternoon/day.

We booked in advance for a Sunday dinner family meal with my elderly grandparents. Arrived at 12.30pm to see a handwritten note on the door stating that they would not be serving the Sunday roast today due to 'management decisions'. Knowing our chances of finding another restaurant nearby without a booking at 12.30pm was very slim we begrudgingly had to stay. The menu choice is mediocre, the food was extremely basic and we left feeling utterly disappointed with the whole experience. There was zero atmosphere and, considering there were only about 8 people in the restaurant (us taking up 6 of those spaces!!) the hoodie wait for food was laughable.

Saturday Morning Breakfast! The food was unlimited and cooked to order and tasted lovely. We really enjoyed taking our coffees outside after we'd eaten and enjoyed the lovely garden to the rear! 🙂 I just want to say that the staff were lovely and friendly, especially the General Manager Emma. She couldn't do enough for you, so polite and professional! 😊 The Stanhope also offer a generous loyalty scheme as well! 👍 UPDATE We've just enjoyed a beautiful mixed grill to celebrate Claire's Birthday! If it's your Birthday you get a main meal for free but you need to register first (you need to see the terms and conditions). A shout out for Fred!! Great member of staff!! 😊 Thank you and see you again soon!

The Bell Inn is a popular spot known for its live music events in the garden, complete with a barbecue and pizza oven. Visitors praise the excellent service and value, especially for those with dietary restrictions like celiac disease. The staff is commended for their understanding of gluten-free requirements. Additionally, the inn hosts various special menus for occasions such as St. Valentine's Day and St. David's Day, making it an attractive option for celebrations.
Decided to go for a drink as drive past this place frequently and ended up ordering a meal as the menu was so inviting. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was of a high standard and reasonably priced for the quality. Will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely place. Staff were very polite and helpful. Clean and tidy. Dogs welcome. Beer garden. Marquee outside. Food wise, it was nice but to me it was over priced. I'm not a fussy eater but I struggled to find something on the menu that I would eat. I don't think I would eat there again.

Went for Sunday lunch with the family and the food was lovely. It is a bit pricey but the presentation is fab, the food tasted great and the service was great too. We sat on the patio as we had a dog with us. It was pretty quiet but it was 3pm. Booked a table just a few hours earlier through their website with no issues. My 6 year old had a great time playing in the gardens and apart from the wasps (to be expected this time of year and sitting outside) everyone really enjoyed their meal. Will definitely be back in the near future.

We visited twice! The playground itself made it worthwhile so the kids had something to do. Pets were also allowed. We had pizza the first time, which was tasty. The second time we had a proper meal; the tapas. We each tried 2-3, and all were delicious.

The food was ok. My wife enjoyed her meal i honestly felt like it was somewhat disappointing, but that could be personal preference. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We've been for both the restaurant menu and the outdoor menu and can't fault either! Restaurant is great for formal affairs and birthday treats. Outside is great for that Friday pint and pizza with your friends! It's great for the kids, too, as there's a play area and small climbing frame with a slide. Staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Food is always delicious, hot, and right. Drinks always poured perfectly and tasting lovely too. You can book in for the restaurant meal but not the garden which is a shame. I tried to book for 9 of us on a Friday and couldn't. So far, though, it's been lovely and I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Had the best night at The Bell for Dining Club! The food was absolutely amazing – every course was spot on and so tasty. Big shoutout to Max and Jack in the kitchen – you guys smashed it. The staff were all lovely and made the whole evening feel super relaxed and fun. Honestly can’t fault a thing – just great vibes, incredible food, and brilliant service from start to finish. Already planning our next visit. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out!

Fantastic experience. Excellent food. Really friendly staff with impeccable customer service. Lovely finishing touches and well presented, really tasty food. We’ll be back, no question.

Came to Anokis from Bradford after spending the day in Derby. Nearly missed it on the A38 so first impression of the location wasn't impressing but that soon changed with the astounding exterior deco (see pics) and ample parking. Service - Loved what the waiters were wearing as part of their uniform. They were extremely polite and talkative yet very busy. Always someone watching the tables should a table need some service. Toilets - very clean and fresh & accessible. Food - Expensive especially for a small plate of starters but nonetheless the food was delicious. The mains were a better size for the price and tasty. Anokis do a deal every Wednesday and a member discount which you may need to be mindful to checkout. Atmosphere - great atmosphere. Great deco and lighting, lively and impressive space & quality seating. I would definetly recommend a visit to Anoki.

First visit, amazing food, wonderful service and polite staff. Made us feel welcome and homely. Highly recommended visit if in the burton/derby area. Food was absolute 100/10, will be revisiting asap! Left stuffed like a turkey at Xmas. Thank you! Amazing value!

Food was excellent! It’s not the cheapest and they have a discount card you pay for, 50% off for two people 33% off for 3-4 people. I think the card is around £90 Due the prices, it’s somewhere to go on special occasions, the service and decor is of a high standard. Overall very good experience but cost it’s probably 25% more than the local curry house.

I have dined at Anoki quite a few times and always had a very good experience. The food is always perfectly cooked with amazing flavours and presented beautifully. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and polite. Recently, I have been opting for takeaways and the food is still very good. Anoki in my opinion is the best Indian restaurant in Derby. I have tried many different options on the menu, but my all-time favourite has to be the lamb chops!! Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic experience. The food was first rate and one of the best curries that I have ever had. Galal was amazing and a really welcoming host. If you do come., try the summer special. Brilliant value for money.

I absolutely flippin loveeeeee this place. This was my first visit to the Burton branch but not to Anoki. Their staff are always an absolute delight and always make visits so much fun, it really is appreciated by everyone. Now, the food. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed an Indian restaurant as much as I love Anoki. They serve some incredibly Delicious authentic dishes that are absolutely full of flavour. They don’t scrimp on their portions either!
