Zoo

Ree Park Safari is a captivating family safari park that sprawls across 125 acres of picturesque countryside, offering an incredible opportunity to observe majestic animals like lions, giraffes, cheetahs, and black rhinos in their naturalistic habitats. Beyond the thrilling wildlife encounters, visitors can indulge in a unique dining experience with various options available when hunger strikes during your adventure.
In the sunny day, this is place to see near Aarhus. It is Safari style zoo that, beside few minor incidents, takes care of it’s animals. As far as I conceptualize the situation it seems like good place for students to come and work as rangers in the park.
Deni M — Google review
Really nice zoo, with some animals we didn’t know existed until we saw them like their super adorable Sandcat! 😻 The enclosures are really big and super nice looking, perfect for the animals! Would definitely recommend booking the Land Rover Safari and the American Express to get super close to the animals.
Rikke J — Google review
Came here with the 13-years old handicap son for a good experience but got one of the worst ever. We have been in couple of zoos here in Denmark and everywhere my son, sitting in wheelchair, could see every animal. In the Ree park it was not possible. Cause of the big fence. When you are standing - it’s no problem, but my son can’t stand. Couldn’t they do some special places in that big fence that he could see anything? There was only two areas with such a possibility that we have been - bear’s and wolf’s area. When we talked with their manager Kristian about that he told us “Well, of course we have some limits for handicap people”. But we paid for my son the full price for ticket with no limits. If we paid full price for his ticket why he has limits when others don’t? Ree park is not handicap friendly zoo. 700 krona for tickets - just wasting money.

Lots of animals! Also lots of people. The park does a good job of seperating people into different paths so it never felt too crowded. Longest wait we had was getting into the park, but a cute peacock was walkikg around next to us and kept us entertained. I loved the information points, especially the ones with moving parts. We definitely had a fun trip!
Antsu H — Google review
The landscape is really beautiful, hilly and nice, especially the elevated wooden paths. That said, many animals are very difficult to see, I got to see around half of them. The design and the maps are very confusing and getting around is chaotic. Getting a coffee is an impossible mission. And if you get to be lucky and find one, it takes 25 minutes of queue to finally get it in your hands because the coffee machine is of very low quality and very old. Very little offer of food. They should have more play and interactive areas for kids. The only available activities (a train, a land rover trip, etc) are all to be paid in top, and very expensive. Those should either be free, or at a way more reasonable price.
D. — Google review
Amazing park, a lot of space for the animals. Very quiet during our Dutch holidays end of April. Can highly recommend to visit this park when in the neighborhood.
Josephine A — Google review
beautiful place and lots of outdoor space for the animals, especially for the monkeys.

Brewery
Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri is a unique brewery located in a beautiful natural setting. Visitors can enjoy the brewery's own hoppy beers, crisp lagers, and delicious homemade lemonades while taking in the stunning surroundings. The brewery offers a special experience where guests can grill their own food and savor it alongside their flavorful beverages with an amazing view. It is known for its great craft beer and reasonable prices, offering a standard price for a half liter of beer.
Great craft beer - and a unique spot to drink it! While some reviews here say it's too pricey, they obviously haven't been to a craft beer in Denmark. Prices are reasonable for the product, and I really like how they offer one standard price for a half liter - so go high on the ABV and enjoy the view over the water! 🙌

Ebeltoft Strand Camping is a unique destination that offers a blend of maritime history and modern camping facilities. The centerpiece is the restored battle frigate, the largest wooden ship in the world, which rests just meters from the sea. The camping area provides spacious pitches with ample shade and stunning sea views. Clean and well-maintained toilets and showers offer privacy, while a heated kitchen/common room adds comfort on cooler nights.
We simply love this place. Service building at reception and end are renovated and perfect. The middle one is not old but needs some maintenance. It's "used" at the end of the season. Overall one of the best places we've ever been!!! We come back!

Beware of paying for your time at this site using a non Danish credit card. I was charged a transaction fee of 36DKK. I queried this as my credit card is a fee free one when used anywhere in Europe. The receptionist said it was down to my credit card company. They have stated this is untrue. I phoned the site after having left and they said they'd check it out with their card processor. The site phoned me and said I had to sort it out with THEIR card processor and would provide details. No details have been received but nonetheless why should I be talking to THEIR card processor. I have been away for 2 months in France, Germany, Holland and Norway. Using my credit card the whole time without any such issue. I think it is DISGUSTING that this site expects me to sort out a problem caused by THEIR card processor. Customer service??

Excellent campsite. Clean toilets and showers. Super beach location. Good playground for kids. The owners are very kind and helpful and speak perfect English. We would come again and recommend to others.
Harry M — Google review
We spent two nights here in the beginning of June, and it was truly an amazing camping! Large pitches with enough shade from trees, and lots of sunshine, literally staring at the sea from our spot. Toilets and showers were very clean and big, and private. A heated kitchen/common room area with ovens and fridges, on colder nights we went to hangout there and heat up some pizza. A very quiet and calm place. The small attractive city is just a stone-throw away with authentic pubs and restaurants, we recommend spending a day there. Would definitely come again!
Noora — Google review
This is a very nice camping site! The staff is very friendly and helpful! The whole area is well maintained and tidy. Toilets are new and clean, very good! The place in total justifies the above average prices. Honestly, I don't know why it is just a ***-camping site.

We spend a week in a Skagen hytte, first week of Sept. with 2 kids at 5 and 7. The place is uniqueness located at the beach, with wonderful opportunity to play and eat the water. Easy shopping with a 3 min walk to Netto and strolling to Ebeltoft within 5/10 min. Unfortunately the pool was closed from week 36, and the children activity house was also closed. The bathroom in our hut had a very sour smell and worn out. The loft sleeping place was very narrow for our kids (constantly hitting the head and no real space for children play). My brother had an Ebeltoft hytte, where the loft space was positioned differently, with plenty of space for kids and their toilet was nice. Play ground was also very nice for the kids, but again worn out. So, the camping ground is really nice, but some facilities are slowly falling apart and could need a refreshment. For the price one pay, the room and facilities did not live up to our expectations. But for the location, we would come back.
Troels S — Google review
I have not been on the camping myself, hat however the most unpleasant experience in Denmark so far, while anchored just outside I had took a walk with our dog, leaving my paddle board on the public part of the beach in front, the camping manager decided to literally steal the board and place inside a shed in his camping ground, out of luck I was able to locate it after unfortunate long shouting and being accused of trespassing I got it back, police was informed. So choose wisely where you wanna stay. Hopefully they replace the angry manager. PS. From owners bellow reply, you can tell that self justice and no remorse is His way. Knowingly stealing my only way to get myself and my dog back to the boat. And no I did not used the showers or even stepped foot on private ground (except for retrieving my property). Even if I had that doesn't justify stealing or taking the law into our hands, the police would have been happy to assist you. Be more positive and help others, or just leave them be, don't create misery ! Or simply apologise 😁

(Translated by Google) Maritime Flair & Plenty of Crayfish Ebeltoft Skudehavn is a beautiful little harbor with plenty of charm – ideal for strolling, admiring ships, or simply enjoying the maritime atmosphere. Cozy spots invite you to sit and linger everywhere – perfect for a relaxing picnic by the water. A real insider tip awaits at the last pier: the perfect spot for crayfish fishing! It's especially fun for families. With a homemade fishing rod – e.g., made from a piece of wood, string, a clothespin, and a nut as a weight – you're off. Recommended bait is mussel meat (mussels are found directly in the water) or a piece of Danish sausage – the crayfish simply can't resist it. A landing net and a bucket with a lid are also part of the basic equipment. The best part... Two lovingly designed racetracks are ready for releasing the crayfish after catching them – and in style! Here, the little critters race each other back into the water – great fun for everyone and a wonderful way to respectfully release the catch into the wild. Skudehavn combines relaxation and adventure – a great place for families, nature lovers, and little crab enthusiasts!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful spot right on the water/harbor with everything you need. It can get quite damp on some sites after a lot of rain. Quick access to the city by bike. It takes a very long time for the fresh water to drain from the hoses (algae buildup from standing for long periods). It's best to use your own hose. Otherwise, we'd be happy to come back. The hotel's location by the beach offers a picturesque setting for starting the day with a refreshing swim. While the rooms are described as somewhat dated but practical, the hotel is commended for its reasonable pricing and adequate COVID-19 precautions.
Did self check in, well organized. Clean room, comfortable bed, good nights sleep. Directly opposite the beach, good parking. Would certainly stay again. Breakfast included in cost.

Obscenely overpriced (1,500 DKK for two adults and two kids staying in one room), run-down, tired and - frankly - like somewhere that had given up on bothering about anything much at all. The television in our room was broken, but reception would not send someone to fix it, but would only offer us a different room. At 2000 hours, with two small kids and already unpacked, that was clearly not an attractive proposition. Every single sign and carpet in the place seemed to be torn or worn-down, which gave the impression any kind of upkeep had ceased some time in the early 90s. Avoid at all costs!

Fregatten Jylland is a restored wooden warship from 1860, featuring both sail and steam power. It offers exhibitions and events for kids, making it an ideal family destination. The ship is located along a scenic path leading towards the harbor, with summer being the best time to visit despite the windy weather. Visitors can enjoy a bar set up in the area during this season, providing opportunities for community singing and picnics.
This is truly a hidden gem 🥰. Ebeltoft is probably not on most people's route, but this place is easily a match for other great European museum ships, such as the Wasa in Stockholm or Brunel's SS Great Britain in Bristol. The current exhibition, "Ild", gave one a very strong impression, only compounded by the list of the crewmen on board. Even my 20 year old son enjoyed dressing up in a sailor's uniform. I have his permission to post the photo. Getting there is easy, parking is free - I would recommend planning for a visit when it isn't raining 🤪

Beautiful very nicely restored 19th c. Danish warship with great exhibition. There is small museum with a shop at the entrance. The ship's 4 levels are all accessible and you can freely explore on your own. Audio guide is a must as there are almost no explanatory texts on board. Audio guide is freely accesible via QR code in the museum.

Beautiful old ship. The museum building next to the ship is nice but not that much exciting to see. The ship itself is more exciting - really nice to be able to go around the whole ship and explore. A really good visit for 1-2-3h.

This is a fantastic attraction with a lot of history. For old and young this is a good place to spend some hours if you’re in Ebeltoft. During these times it is also safe to walk on the ship 🚢 as everything is one way streets. There are a lot of good stories from the past to be told here.

Glasmuseet Ebeltoft is a must-visit attraction in Ebeltoft, offering an impressive collection of modern international glass art. With over 1,500 works from artists around the world, the museum showcases various uses, formats, perspectives, and techniques of glass. Visitors can explore multiple exhibitions alongside a remarkable permanent collection. The friendly staff provides insightful explanations and curations to enhance the experience.
Amazing talent is on display. We loved it. Especially enjoyed watching the artist on site create right in front of us. The waterfront is right there and local restaurants are nearby, too.

I think the adults enjoyed it more than the kids, which is to be expected with small kids. The kids found most interesting the blowing of hot glass into a shape which happened outside of the main building. The glass room that gives the illusion that you could fall down was hilarious with my kids. Overall a nice time there.

Really beautiful museum! We would have loved to see more! Also really like the chance to come in for the week after the tickets purchase. The shop was a little bit expensive. But all in all, we want to see more beautiful glass!!!

I kept an open mind about art but this was just not a fun exhibit. One of the best exhibits you probably wil not see, only if you have to go to the toilet is the toilet on the first floor. Really it has the coolest art and decorations! For kids its kinda fun you can make mozaik on the first floor and in the loft but thats not worth the entrance money. I gave it two stars and thats because of the two stars (workers) in the glass working shop. They explained and showed us how to make glass into beautifull art works. They were friendly and great at explaining. This is the only reason to get in here. The other best exhibit is the shop, its the glass works they made at the museum its beautifull! Really if the museum would be filled with their art I would come back!
Justin — Google review
Small expert museum worth visiting. Friendly staff and service, central location with free parking. Couple of exhibitions at a time, not forgetting their permanent collection that is amazing. Exhibitions showcase glass in so many different uses, formats, perspectives and techniques- curating and ”explanations” make it easier to digest. Upstairs/attic room video shows the various tehcniques and makes the pieces seen more understandable as well, so, highly recommended!
Sini S — Google review
I very nice experience at this museum even though it looks more like an art gallery. Nice works of glas and a big variety on the glass shop. I had the chance to see the Master of glass work there so it made my journey to Danmark complete. Garden was also a part of the exhibition but it wasn't that "inviting" to sit or enjoy the weathe because of the very well cared grass and the artwork fount in it. History Museums
Museum Østjylland - Det Gamle Rådhus is located at the heart of the town square, offering a picturesque setting with market stands and the iconic watchmen. The former town hall, known as the "Smallest Town Hall in the World," now houses the museum after being deemed too small for administrative tasks in 1840. The building's 1906-09 restoration gave it a charming 16th-century half-timbered appearance.
Great Service!!! She tolds me all about the place including the prison down under. Ebeltoft is very charming and shows so many different views in day, evening and night. The traffic lights are old and innthe evening the nightwatch is coming to sing.
Ursula S — Google review
The title "Smallest Town Hall in the World" does the former town hall of Ebeltoft no harm: the building that now houses the Museum Østjylland is one of the most popular sights of this pleasant town. The town hall, built in 1789, was in any case already too small for administrative tasks in 1840. After the 1906-09 restoration, which gave the building a 16th century half-timbered appearance, it became home to the Ebeltoft Museum (now Museum Østjylland).

Had the brunch including drinks. Everything was just really really nice. Sausages were fresh and meaty. Salmon so delicious. Bit pricy, but worth it because of the excellent raw materials

Food tastet alright/good, however the prices were too high for what you got. I got the blue mussels as an appetizer and for that there were too many. As my main dish i got the linguine pasta and I’d say there were too few noodles in comparison to the rest. Carrots still had the leaves on them and they were too many. I had elderflower juice with was only 0,25l for 45kr which is atrocious. Didn’t have dessert

After a walk of 4.2mi decided refreshments would be taken a good choice handcrafted beers. Decided to return for dinner. On the night there was a Spanish based event going on outdoors. However we were eating al la carte the service was a little slow but what with the event no real surprise. The fixed menu was chosen.

Our 2nd time here, and we would always do it again! Frokost is a dream here-go try it yourself! Also they sell the most perfect beer from Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri. And don‘t miss the museum shop Rød Hest on the opposite side of the restaurant! Come on now, go there!

Popped in here last night for a beer. Wasn't open but the manageress let us in anyway and supplied us with 2 fab local beers and a whole host of invaluable information of where to go and what to do in the area. The place looks great and we took a sneaky look at the brewery downstairs (by mistake). Can't wait to go back when it's open and try everything another time - thanks Jenny

The menu offers a wide variety of options including pizzas, pastas, lasagna, and Italian meat dishes. Skandinavisk Dyrepark is a spacious wildlife park that houses Nordic animals like polar bears, wolves, and moose. It offers camping options and is described as a great destination for families. Visitors can enjoy seeing the animals up close and even participate in activities like feeding the wolves. The park also features clean facilities, friendly staff, and a nice playground.
A large area with well-kept animals. The road system is smart with many path and good access to observe the inhabitants of the enclosures. In case of sudden rain a few more spots with cover could be nice. Parking opportunities are fine and it is easy to spend half a day at the park, especially when taking every path.

Great place, love also the small selection of Animals to give them as much space as possible. Overall the park was great, it was the first time that i had the feeling that the animals did like the park and didnt were sad, they were looking happy and also were active and going around. You have to walk a bit to see everything in the park but that was not a problem. Would visit it again

Margie D — Google review
Early birds and visitors on colder days will probably have the best experience. In April, with just a few other guests, we could get closer to the animals as in any other park. And still, the animal feel well placed and have space to withdraw. Furthermore: the stuff is friendly, there is a nice playground and the toilettes are clean. All in all a great experience for nature loving people and probably all kids.

We are from the area and have celebrated several family events in the location across the street "molskroen" and it was fine. A year and a half ago i wanted to celebrate my birthday here. The whole communication was so complicated that we decided not to have the birthday party in this location. We now tried to make a reservation for a table for 10-14 people. We had to ring several times before someone answered the phone. Then we were passed through a few times and ended with a lady who said they only serve one dish. We asked how it is in the "Brasserie" and we were confirmed that the Menu of different items was served there. So we wanted to reserve for the next day for lunch. We were told that this is only possible if the whole consumption would be paid in advance... Not a deposit, not an advance, but the whole consumption. I am not about to call my friends and ask them to go online and decide what they may like to eat the next day, have them send the information and call the "Brasserie" again to have them ring it all up and make the charge... I asked if we just show up the next day if they would have room for us and she confirmed that that would be possible. The next day we shoved up and were happy to see each other and have a nice lunch. We entered the front door and the lady in the reception was busy with her mobile phone in the office and only reacted when i said "good day" We asked for a table for 11 people. uuuuuh that may be difficult.... she said. She went to talk to 2-3 other colleagues in the restaurant where there were abt. 4 tables occupied and the rest of the restaurant was empty... after a lot of back and forth and sceptical faces we were informed that they would be able to accommodate us. We were to go and introduce ourselves to the staff in the restaurant. We did so and were told we were to be sitting at 2 different tables..... We asked if the tables could be put together since there was plenty of room to do so. No, that would not be possible, because management would not allow this and like the way the tables were set up...... remember! the restaurant was maybe 30% occupied! We decided not to spend our money in this location and never to come back. If this place was not backed by a wealthy person, i would presume they would be out of business. If you look them up on proof.dk they are in voluntary liquidation.... I guess that says it all.... there were good intentions behind the nice restaurant, but if the people working there were trained to keep costumers away, then it will not work....... Good luck - i hope for the region they will find new people who knows service and "gastronomy"

The rooms have a great view and size. The beds a comfy but the blankets are very warm, there is no air conditioning in the room. There is a kitchen sink with a decent sized fridge. The breakfast was decent, nothing impressive. I wish they would vary the options for eggs, vegetables, cereal and pastries. Instead of servings the exact same thing every day. For dinner we went for the shellfish evening buffet with Rose. Which was a hit of disappointment compared to the overall price. The shellfish was good, but we expected a wider selection than just scrimps. The staff and service at the hotel is not proactive in any way. They rarely checked up with the amount of food at the buffet, nor refilling the coffee cans and they did not seem service minded whenever we asked for advice or assistance. You can purchase cafe latte and other coffees from the barista, however none of them lived up to the +40 DKK price tag. We were unable to turn on the Sauna without contacting a member of the staff. The sauna later went out of service, the staff did not put in much effort to resolve the problem which was a disappointment as well. Overall the rooms and the view is great, but I would not stay here again unless they increase their service and breakfast options.

room was absolutely stunning - clean modern design with very high ceiling and exposed beams - and a wonderfull view over the sea from the private terrasse just outside the room breakfast was also very good with very attentive and polite staff couple if thing on the room design however where somewhat odd - and appeared to be not very well considered for guest usability: 1) the closest plug point for the kettle for making tea/coffee was near the floor under the cupboard where kettle was located - making it somewhat akward to boil water ;-? 2) the bathtub was placed on a elovated platform with 2 tiled steps down from it and a very narrow ledge to get out of the bath on - not the safest when getting out of a bath :-? 3) bathroom was very large yet toilet was crammed into a narrow corner next to the sink console :-? so great place but could do with staff/owners actually spending a night in the rooms to see what works - and what does not .....

Thanks to Langhoff & Juul for a stellar experience during a Friday to Sunday wedding party. The hotel makes the most out of its outstanding waterfront location. Just like their restaurant in Aarhus, the food and hospitality are top-notch, uncomplicated and make you feel welcome and relaxed. We'll definitely be back for more!

Great view and surroundings. Nice rooms, very friendly and helpful reception personnel, but dissatisfied with our breakfast which does not live up to the expectations considering the overnight pricing

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Trehøje Mols. Not quite as popular as Fregatten Jylland, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Trehøje Mols

4.8
(902)
Trehøje Mols is a remarkable tourist attraction in Denmark that should not be missed. It encompasses Tinghulen, an expansive former ice hole formed during the last ice age. The site offers breathtaking panoramic views of Kalo Vig, Ebeltoft Vig, Bay of Aarhus, and Mols Bjerge. Although it can get crowded during the summer months, Trehøje is still worth a visit with its beautiful hiking trails and stunning scenery.
A good place to park (within reason is not a very large lot or anything and a tiny road to get there) where you can go on a beautiful walk in any direction. You can see a very long way from the top of the høje. I have seen a mols bjerge national park bus stop here in the summer months so check at the visitors center to see if you can park somewhere easier
Stine W — Google review
Iconic hills of Denmark. But I’m not sure if the views are worth it. Came on a cloudy day so the views weren’t that good. Maybe on a clear day, it will be nicer.
Seah H — Google review
The view is utterly spectacular. Try to visit early in the morning 🌅 when it is likely to be less crowded. Also in combination with the many trails you can experience the nature in the heart of the national park.

Very nice, parking at the foot of the hills. Lot's of trailheads, changing scenery. Nice runny fields with hills that are "Mountains" for Denmark.

Simply an amazing place to get an eagles eye view of Mols Bjerge. I would highly recommend going to Trehøje and looking around, maybe even before entering into the rest of Mols Bjerge, which is equally lovely. This is definitely some of the best nature Denmark has to offer.

Trehøje is a place that offers a great panoramic view over Kalø Vig, Ebeltoft Vig, Bay of Aarhus and Mols Bjerge. Beware that it is often pretty crowded during the summer, but still worth the visit. There are nice hiking trails all around this place. Picture is from Dec 2018.

Dragsmur is a stunning place with beautiful scenery, including Mols Bjerge and a lovely beach. Historic Sites
Poskær Stenhus is an ancient stone monument located in a beautiful surrounding. It was saved from destruction, and it's worth a quick visit if you're in the area. The site is easily accessible with a car park and nearby toilet facilities, although there's no rubbish bin in the area. Visitors are amazed by the magical atmosphere and marvel at how Stone Age people could move and place the stones here.
Only need about 10 minutes to see the stones. There are Several walking paths around the stones though. The parking lot near the stones has a picnic table.

Kvalitetssti Mols Bjerge, Bjergetapen is a stunning hiking area within the national park, offering a variety of trails for hikers to choose from. The routes vary in length and provide numerous benches and resting spots along the way. With ample parking at different starting points, visitors can easily access the trails. (Translated by Google) I would recommend it, but with a few reservations: the bowling alley is a bit dated, as is evident in the edge in the middle of the lane, and the fact that the owner had to run back four times within an hour to get the balls back. Furthermore, there were very few beers to choose from; the bowling alley in Grenaa was much better (but also more expensive!). Still, it was fun, so there's nothing stopping me from recommending it. 👍

Cafe Bageriet is a charming spot known for its delightful brunch offerings, making it a perfect choice for a family gathering or a leisurely weekend meal. A nice restaurant with a terasse to sit outside when the weather is nice. On the menu they have mostly burger, salats, sandwiches, fingerfood and some meat and fish dishes. We had the salmon and the guacamole burger as vegan option, which were nice. The local beer was delicious. Also nice that they have smoothies, although we did not try them. The service was nice and welcoming.

Nice atmosphere. The service at Cafe Bageriet is friendly, happy to make recommendations or answer any questions we had. There's also a small outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the sun. We spend a good and “simple” time here with my friend. As most places in Dk, Fries are very salty.

DANGEROUS if you have celiac disease! Stay away if you value your health! I was poisoned with gluten. I explained my disease and inquired specifically about all sorts of sauces, gluten free bread, a separate deep frier, all sorts of different ingredients and separate preparation of the food. They claimed to be knowledgeable about celiac disease and promised me whatever I wanted to hear. Bull… The severity of my reaction to the food clearly hints that this was not “just an accidental” contamination. I’m pretty much bound to bed and probably will be for the next couple of days.
Sebastian H — Google review
I've had an experience before and it wasn't that bad. But this time we went with 2 other family friends. The waiters told us that it takes 45-60 minutes to prepare over orders because they are really busy. There was a 6 year old kid who was hungry and his mom had to give him some snacks. One of the waiters came to our table and asked very rudely to remove all snacks or other food items, his mother put the snacks back in her bags but the child asked for one more, the waiter came again and said angrily "I told you before, put them back!!!" All the other waiters stood behind him and told us that we can leave the restaurant. There was no responsible person to give any answer because he was busy! I don't think that's professional.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant Moment is a dining establishment that offers a three-course menu with a focus on European and Scandinavian cuisine. Located in Ebeltoft, Jutland, it provides a fantastic view and decent food. The restaurant has gained recognition for its commitment to sustainability, earning a place in the Michelin Guide 2019 as a "Bib Gourmand" establishment. It was founded by an enthusiastic couple without prior experience in the food industry, aiming to promote sustainability through their culinary creations.
An excellent lesson on sustainability in the food industry. Restaurant Moment was started by a passionate couple with no food industry experience who wanted to use the restaurant to communicate sustainability concepts to an audience who may not typically think about sustainability (eg. Foodies). Fine dining restaurants are renowned for its carbon footprint from transporting exotic food products and food wastage. In contrast, substantially all of the plant-based ingredients used by Restaurant Moment are grown in its own vegetable garden and farm. They increase biodiversity by reintroducing heirloom plants and growing wild plants. They also have their own bees to help pollinate their plants Water is recycled, food waste is fermented to compost and made into soil. Even the building itself is built using sustainable technologies. The outer walls use bricks made from compressed straw. The food itself is excellent and it is well worth a roadtrip for this unique experience.
Byron K — Google review
It does not matter how many exquisite Michelin star restaurants you have dined in before. This is an experience like no other, with associations of flavours you could never have conceived but a purity, a freshness, a creativity that leaves you speechless. The sommelier and the staff are equally extraordinary and passionate. Do try the homemade kombuchas, elixirs like no others, such as the one made with 5 type of cherries and lilac. I have been to unique restaurants in my life but this, this is my all world favourite.

Very well thought out, tasteful, surprising menu, served in a nice atmosphere by a great host, and accompanied by natural BUT very well chosen wines and juices. Produce from own grounds and immediate surroundings. One of my best dining experiences in recent years, and entirely vegetarian. What more can I say? Well worth a visit!!

Get ready to have your tastebuds challenged. For every serving local products arranged in surprising combinations lead you down surprising paths. In other words- amazing food combined with surprising wine or fruit/combucha juice prepared by some of the best vagatarian/vegan chefs. The restaurant staff deserves acclamation as well

The best food experience in my life!! Service is 5 star+!! Even though we came without reservation they made sure we felt welcome. We didn't know that this place is vegetarian only, but if You have any allergies or intolerances You have to tell it in advance and when we said that we are vegan they asked kitchen to make vegan options, but couldn't promise anything, but I'm sure our vegan option was even better that original one even though chefs were improvising!! It was absolutely AMAZING! Sometimes it was even impossible to tell what You are eating even though You know that vegetable very well. They do absolute magic with food! Everything is so tasty and balanced, from the taste till the size of a portion and number of dishes! And everything they use for cooking they grow themselves! Absolutely LOVED IT! THANK YOU!
Fausta J — Google review
One of the most unique experiences I’ve had. I love how moment incorporated full sustainability through their courses by using food mostly from their backyard. 10/10!
Dennis J — Google review
Quite amazing. Very high standards. While some of the dishes are experimental they are perfectly executed. Very enjoyable stay. Closest comparison in DK must be Relæ in Copenhagen, but at Moment the dishes are actually better executed (but the service less formal/upscale, which is likely why there’s no full Michelin star at moment). Tip: if the weather is for it ask for the garden seating it compliments the food experience nicely.

STRANDKROEN is a charming seaside restaurant with a friendly staff and good food at reasonable prices. While it's advisable to make dinner reservations, the location offers both indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the sea, despite being near a busy road. The restaurant has received praise for its cozy and authentic atmosphere, as well as for accommodating dogs. Some customers have suggested adding vegetarian options to the menu.
Nice staff, good food, prices are average for location/denmark, but a little bit cheaper than other places around the same area. Can recommend! 10/10. It would be nice if they'd have some vegetarian options on the menu. I know that's not too often in the places in this part of denmark, but it would be nice to offer some options.

Ahl Strand is a remarkable destination during the summer months. The water is phenomenal, displaying transparency and cleanliness, while also providing warmth that adds to its allure. Additionally, it remains shallow until one ventures further out, making it suitable for all types of beachgoers. Furthermore, the beach itself boasts an extensive width and length, establishing itself as the premier choice among Ebeltoft's beaches.

Well, where do we start. This was the most exceptional restaurant we have been to in Denmark and the EU so far during our amazing holiday. We have had the traditional night guards, the best food ever, wine to die for, and our waiter Kenneth, went above and beyond to look after us tonight. This was a 10 star experience for sure. Thanks so much Kenneth for making our night.

Very nice restaurant, they have gluten free bread (although it was sold out on the day I was there). I had an egg dish in a cast iron pan that was a bit salty, but very good. Not much to choose from on the menu if you are gluten free.

Just really nice, funny and honest people making really (REALLY) nice food and wanting you to enjoy. And we did. Just don't be picky, and go here if you're searching for a restaurant. The best restaurant in Ebeltoft! We chose the 3 course menu and it did not dissapoint. The food was really good. It all matched really well. They smoke the salmon theirself and it was the best. On top of that, the service was also very good. We had really nice conversations with the owners of the restaurant. We will go back - maybe to live nearby or on another holiday - but we will certainly eat here again!
Lilian — Google review
Cosy quaint restaurant in the heart of the town that will make you feel good before you even taste the food but the food certainly doesn't play second place to the surroundings. We started with a lobster bisque soup with a couple of amazingly well cooked scallops then on to one of the best lemon soul dishes I've tasted. Fish cooked to perfection, quite highly seasoned but it suited it perfectly and cooked in a sumptuous butter sauce, a big chunk of lemon to squeeze over and accompanied perfectly by new asparagus potatoes. Service was also relaxed, super friendly and professional.

Great food value for money and lovely atmosphere. The wine may seem a bit pricy compared to the food considering they do not provide a wine card or disclose wine price unless you ask, and their beer selection is unfortunately only Carlsberg, Tuborg classic and an alcohol free Royal.

It’s a good local dining experience. The interior is kept at its unaltered since the 1900s. The food is good too, there was only 1 serving waiter when I was there but they still accept me and my family although we came a little close to closing time. Their scallop is well made on pea purée, their daily fish special is also fresh and delicious, their tenderloin was cooked perfectly with the best fries I have ever tried. Overall a good dining experience 10/10

Great atmosphere and very nice outdoor seating area. Great selection of dishes. I didn't try the burger as I wanted to try something local, but I saw the burger from other tables and it also looked quite good. Nice local beers also. The inside of the place is quite interesting also. Will definitely be back! Update Sept-2022: I went back and tried the burger, it was very good! Crispy fried, juicy meat. We sat outside, very cosy and relaxing.

Nice cozy place and friendly staff. And that is about it. I had ordered 3 steaks for me and my 2 boys. At first the waiter did not ask how we wanted the steak. Only when asked, she took that addition to the order. We wanted all 3 steaks to be medium-rare. The result was shocking! One was medium to well done, one was almost raw inside, only one steak seemed to be close to medium-rare. And the steak was not cleaned for "silver skin" and other chewy parts that was clearly visible on the outside of the steak.. Why 2 stars then? Well, my wife's steak was fine (ordered medium) and the Wienerschnitzel for my sister and nephew was also fine. But for me, it was a bad experience and I cannot recommend this place for dinner.
