The best service I had in Denmark despite the waiter being very young. He was so energetic, polite, and quick! Cute little outdoor terrace to enjoy in the sunny weather. Food is fine, nothing special but a little bit expensive.

Great food value for money and lovely atmosphere. The wine may seem a bit pricy compared to the food considering they do not provide a wine card or disclose wine price unless you ask, and their beer selection is unfortunately only Carlsberg, Tuborg classic and an alcohol free Royal.

It’s a good local dining experience. The interior is kept at its unaltered since the 1900s. The food is good too, there was only 1 serving waiter when I was there but they still accept me and my family although we came a little close to closing time. Their scallop is well made on pea purée, their daily fish special is also fresh and delicious, their tenderloin was cooked perfectly with the best fries I have ever tried. Overall a good dining experience 10/10

Nice Danish food. Outside really bad service by a young lady for the tourists. Locals got better service. Waited very long for food and got wrong order for drinks and dessert. She was not friendly, although the male server had good service in the beginning..

Great atmosphere and very nice outdoor seating area. Great selection of dishes. I didn't try the burger as I wanted to try something local, but I saw the burger from other tables and it also looked quite good. Nice local beers also. The inside of the place is quite interesting also. Will definitely be back! Update Sept-2022: I went back and tried the burger, it was very good! Crispy fried, juicy meat. We sat outside, very cosy and relaxing.

This was a 10/10 in it‘s purest sense of meaning. The restaurant‘s interieur is a nostalgic daydream while the food itself is nothing but to die for. Especially recommend the Kammuslinger in their sweet little bed of mashed peas-thank you for making this amazing taste in my mouth happen, I will never forget! Thank you, we will definetly come again…and again!!

Sitting in the small rooms have a sense of individuality and privacy the arrival of the Ebeltoft city guard was unexpected. We all enjoyed the food & experience.

It's a quaint little inn. Very old, it has been well maintained and is clean. We got a junior suite of some sort, however we noted the set up is actually for a family room, and frankly - a little strange. Due to the age of the place, the bathroom was downstairs while the sleeping area was upstairs. Just noting it here so that it will be expected. Bed was very comfy. The restaurant has great quality food. And if you dont stay there, dining at the restaurant is certainly warranted. Breakfast was left to be desired, as although whatever there was good, we did feel there could have been a little more variety. On one day there were no fruits. Cereal is not available, only one type of cheese, the only hot items are eggs and sausages... Basically, a little more would go a long way. On one day, it was also set up late. The afternoon tea was great! Dinner was good. We had 9 courses. The gap between each course was rather long, so we ended up dining for almost 5 hours. Which, to be honest, was a little much, considering the structure of the meal. There were, at times, more than 20mins between courses. Our server, Matthias, was excellent. He was very attuned to the slighted changes in nuances at our table and anticipated needs fabulously. He also noted that I didnt speak Danish, and always ensured he conversed in English, as well as prepared an English menu for me. Perhaps would not be able to say the same for the gentleman in charge of the particular evening who seemed reluctant to approach when my partner motioned to him. However, that certainly didn't dampen the overall experience, as all the other staff in the evening were exceptionally courteous. Overall, it was good, and service was friendly. But the smalls kinks in each area unfortunately doesnt allow for a full 5 stars. Nevertheless, good experience and will return if in the area. Update 2025: we enjoyed the signature dinner menu with pairings and it was delightful. Each course was beautiful and tasted amazing. The portions and timing were also ideal because I left the table feeling satisfied but not over-stuffed. Service was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We sat in the sun room which gave us an opportunity to watch the colors change over the sea and ebeltoft. I can also say it was a very cozy and beautiful room and so it was easy to enjoy my meal and talk at a comfortable level. I recommend it ❤️ We ate at the restaurant for the 3 course with wine pairings this week. The service was friendly, the ambiance perfect, and the food of top quality. I would recommend to eat here without reservation. I have also hosted a large party here with perfect planning, hosting, and dining experience.

I have eaten here twice and loved it both times. I think the 3 course daily special is a great option, though there are many nice things on the menu. I recommend their fries, their fresh bread with hazelnut, and their desserts (save room!). It has a very nice terrace and friendly service.

Nice place for lunch, small amount of tables outside in the sun facing the harbour, more space inside. Small menu with decent food, mostly seafood. Service was nice and we didn’t have to wait long when we were there for lunch on a weekday.

Very good service. Delicious food. The seafood platter (Skaldyrs fad) is very fresh and tasteful, but not completely like the ´plateau de fruits de mers´ of the Atlantic coast in France. Nevertheless go fo it.

Fantastic place, I recommend it for all to try, specially with there new danish dish called stjerneskud. The only thing I would have loved was a little more wine in the glass :-)

We booked a table with Elizabeth in the afternoon for the evening, as we had looked at how delicious the Fish and chips looked we ordered this on arrival, everyone in the Cafe were extremely helpful and attentive, the meal was fabulous fish was flaky and pure white, prawns just melted in your mouth, home made Tartar sauce was delicious, much better than normal English fish and chips.

Good food, enough places to sit. Waiters were really helpful (2/3). Really happy with the salad they provided, normally I don’t eat that but it had a really nice dressing and got me to eat my veggies! Only one remark: there was one waitress and I think her smile was broken… don’t know why… she didn’t give us a welcoming feeling, only business. The other two compensated for this and even made jokes.

Checked in for lunch an we were not disappointed. Extremely friendly staff and the food we ordered has been very tasty! Burger, mussels and fishburger (fiskefrikadeller) - all 3 dishes have been outstanding! The cakes in the display looked very promising too, but unfortunately we were too stuffed already …

Food tastet alright/good, however the prices were too high for what you got. I got the blue mussels as an appetizer and for that there were too many. As my main dish i got the linguine pasta and I’d say there were too few noodles in comparison to the rest. Carrots still had the leaves on them and they were too many. I had elderflower juice with was only 0,25l for 45kr which is atrocious. Didn’t have dessert

After a walk of 4.2mi decided refreshments would be taken a good choice handcrafted beers. Decided to return for dinner. On the night there was a Spanish based event going on outdoors. However we were eating al la carte the service was a little slow but what with the event no real surprise. The fixed menu was chosen.

Our 2nd time here, and we would always do it again! Frokost is a dream here-go try it yourself! Also they sell the most perfect beer from Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri. And don‘t miss the museum shop Rød Hest on the opposite side of the restaurant! Come on now, go there!

Nice local brewery with lots of beer options. Outside seating welcomed. Tried the open faced sandwiches but they were so small. Definitely need to order more than one!.

Popped in here last night for a beer. Wasn't open but the manageress let us in anyway and supplied us with 2 fab local beers and a whole host of invaluable information of where to go and what to do in the area. The place looks great and we took a sneaky look at the brewery downstairs (by mistake). Can't wait to go back when it's open and try everything another time - thanks Jenny

The Food was actually pretty good but the prices were absolutely ridiculous. Service was average, guy was nice. Too warm and the loud music in the building unfortunately made the experience quite uncomfortable. Wouldn‘t visit again.

If you like Spanish tapas, this is the place for you. Like Kjøbstaden you've got waiters that wants you to have the absolute best experience. They will guide you through the menu to make sure you have the best gastronomical experience. This is the place for those who likes a high quality, but different, dining experience! Pay them a visit. They'll make it worth your while and money!

This must be the best restaurant in the area! Fun and very friendly owner, rarely had a better service. We came late, they were so friendly to open up the kitchen again. And still, we got the most amazing food, one dish better than the other, beautiful explanations of the food by the owner, perfect wine and sherry matches. A must when eating in Ebeltoft. Nice atmosphere, good vibe. We will come back!

Keep up the down to earth vibe and up in the air, heavenly delicious good food. It's so nice too be able to talk with the owner of the restaurant and feel their passion for people, food and being present. Sometimes good ratings are actually a sign of good work being done, and yes, they do deserve a good rating. Thank you Manzana Tapas Bar for a good evening.

This is an authentic tapas bar that serves delicious food prepared with care using high quality ingredients; you can taste that. I love that they stay true to concept and do not try to fit in the standard Danish restaurant kitchens predictaple dishes; this place is honest to the concept and their own style. The service was great and we were treated with warmth and care. The only place for improvement is the acustics: With a large group of friends dining a few tables away the noice level made it almost impossible to have a conversation. May I suggest some sound dampening deco? Highly recommend this place.

We visited the location with our dog, so we had to sit outside and were the only ones there. So i can not say anything regarding the location on the inside and if the service is better than outside. The food was very good but it took like 20 minutes until we could order our drinks and food. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we got our food and it was very delicious. Maybe the service in denmark is always slow and chill? Maybe someone can answer me this and i can correct the review.

Super helpful staff! We needed to get in with a wheelchair and they went out of their way to help us: so kind. Hats off to them. Also a great and cosy restaurant. The staff were extremely busy but also very effective, friendly and full of patience. Can't fault this place. Food was plenty and nice beer. Creme brullee was excellent. We would certainly come back. The cobbles outside are a bit hard for the wheelchair.

It's not often I say this, but this place deserves a great round of applause! The owner was sweet, funny and "down to earth". It was excellent service as if you were dining at a 5-star hotel restaurant. It's worth every penny and your time! Big thanks to the chef, the owner and the waiters! 4 adults and 2 kids came to eat. We ordered two burgers, two steaks and chicken nuggets for the kids. Nuggets: real homemade nuggets. Not this factory produced crap you get elsewhere. The kids loved them. Burgers: home made, and they probably minced the meat themself. Juicy and flavorful. Best burgers we've har 5/5. Garments 5/5. Steaks: I ate it using a butter knife. Bernaise was creamy and fresh. Crispy chips. Garment was also good. 5/5. Would absolutely go back.

I had my birthday there with all of my family and a family friend. We had a really great time. The waiter who is also the owner made sure that we had everything we needed. He took the time for a conversation and making jokes and giving anekdotes. He explaned some things on the menu. The food was very good and you could tell it was prepared with so much love and soul. We stayed there for over 4 hours and nobody was rushing. If you ever visit the great country of Denmark then visit Ebeltoft and make very sure that you visit this great restaurant. I 100% will know that you have the time of your life. Thank you for a great dinner.

The food was delicious. The place was clean , including the toilets. Staff were helpful and attentive. Outside was well set out, and the shade from the trees lended itself to a fresh and dappled light, whilst inside and down stairs with its many old photos , gives vibes of yesteryear.. I will definitely return and would consider holding a party there, if ever an opportunity arises.

We are from the area and have celebrated several family events in the location across the street "molskroen" and it was fine. A year and a half ago i wanted to celebrate my birthday here. The whole communication was so complicated that we decided not to have the birthday party in this location. We now tried to make a reservation for a table for 10-14 people. We had to ring several times before someone answered the phone. Then we were passed through a few times and ended with a lady who said they only serve one dish. We asked how it is in the "Brasserie" and we were confirmed that the Menu of different items was served there. So we wanted to reserve for the next day for lunch. We were told that this is only possible if the whole consumption would be paid in advance... Not a deposit, not an advance, but the whole consumption. I am not about to call my friends and ask them to go online and decide what they may like to eat the next day, have them send the information and call the "Brasserie" again to have them ring it all up and make the charge... I asked if we just show up the next day if they would have room for us and she confirmed that that would be possible. The next day we shoved up and were happy to see each other and have a nice lunch. We entered the front door and the lady in the reception was busy with her mobile phone in the office and only reacted when i said "good day" We asked for a table for 11 people. uuuuuh that may be difficult.... she said. She went to talk to 2-3 other colleagues in the restaurant where there were abt. 4 tables occupied and the rest of the restaurant was empty... after a lot of back and forth and sceptical faces we were informed that they would be able to accommodate us. We were to go and introduce ourselves to the staff in the restaurant. We did so and were told we were to be sitting at 2 different tables..... We asked if the tables could be put together since there was plenty of room to do so. No, that would not be possible, because management would not allow this and like the way the tables were set up...... remember! the restaurant was maybe 30% occupied! We decided not to spend our money in this location and never to come back. If this place was not backed by a wealthy person, i would presume they would be out of business. If you look them up on proof.dk they are in voluntary liquidation.... I guess that says it all.... there were good intentions behind the nice restaurant, but if the people working there were trained to keep costumers away, then it will not work....... Good luck - i hope for the region they will find new people who knows service and "gastronomy"

Really good food without the exorbitant prices of Molskroen proper. Still by no means cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

Not impressed with speed of Service or inadequate seasoning of the fries and Sauces. More is expected at that price-point.

A nice restaurant with a terasse to sit outside when the weather is nice. On the menu they have mostly burger, salats, sandwiches, fingerfood and some meat and fish dishes. We had the salmon and the guacamole burger as vegan option, which were nice. The local beer was delicious. Also nice that they have smoothies, although we did not try them. The service was nice and welcoming.

DANGEROUS if you have celiac disease! Stay away if you value your health! I was poisoned with gluten. I explained my disease and inquired specifically about all sorts of sauces, gluten free bread, a separate deep frier, all sorts of different ingredients and separate preparation of the food. They claimed to be knowledgeable about celiac disease and promised me whatever I wanted to hear. Bull… The severity of my reaction to the food clearly hints that this was not “just an accidental” contamination. I’m pretty much bound to bed and probably will be for the next couple of days.

I've had an experience before and it wasn't that bad. But this time we went with 2 other family friends. The waiters told us that it takes 45-60 minutes to prepare over orders because they are really busy. There was a 6 year old kid who was hungry and his mom had to give him some snacks. One of the waiters came to our table and asked very rudely to remove all snacks or other food items, his mother put the snacks back in her bags but the child asked for one more, the waiter came again and said angrily "I told you before, put them back!!!" All the other waiters stood behind him and told us that we can leave the restaurant. There was no responsible person to give any answer because he was busy! I don't think that's professional.

Delicious! Looks like your average in-town cafe but the food surprised me! At these prices i wasn't expecting that much, but it's great. The fish filet is an absolute must-have. Came back 3 days in a row!

We took some take-away for a group of 9 and they were done within 20 minutes in the early evening, great performance! The food was delicious, but a bit soggy. Original Italian cooks that can easily manage even complicated orders. Nice location in the middle of Ebeltoft, not big enough for a big group though.

This place surprised me it looks small from the front. But they have a huge backyard where you can eat outside. There are parasol for the sun on the deck. You can enter the restaurant from the back. This is easier if you have a stroller. The food was very good and severs very friendly. Pizza we order came out fast.

Pizzas are just fine. Good taste and good filling but nothing extraordinary whatsoever. However, service is bad. An empty restaurant on a Saturday night (we were the only ones) and they took +10 minutes to ask for drinks and they never came back after getting our food served. Not asking how the food was or even passing by at any point in +50 minutes. Of course we did not order desserts or coffee as no one came at all. We had to stand up to pay in an EMPTY restaurant.

Had a lovely dinner here last night! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening. But what truly made the experience special was the service. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and—how should I put it—charmingly pleasant.Definitely coming back!

Summary: The food was average but nothing special and therefore way too expensive. Positives: -The food was ready very quickly and we didn't have to wait long. -The service was very kind and friendly. -They have gluten-free Options for people with a gluten intolerance (but not for people with celiac disease) -The dishes were as expected and came with everything described in the menu. Negatives: -The food was "ok" but nothing more. I am used to way tastier food from other Italian restaurants. -All our dishes were a little bit too salty. -Both the the food and the location are lacking the extra spark to make the price worth it. -It overall didn't feel like an authentic Italian restaurant.

Overpriced bruscheta . 79 and you get a small slice of bread with a little tomato . Very disappointed !!!! Stjerneskud could come with more shrimps , a thick layer of lemon . Can be better . Service was very good ! Atmosphere is very nice . Rwstaurabt with potential but needs to improve a lot .

Absolute tourist trap, and not in any sense an authentic Italian experience. We ordered the penne alla cognac and the tagliatelle Alfredo. Both the penne and the tagliatelle were completely mushy, falling apart as they were touched by the fork. Furthermore, both dishes were completely drenched in cream, with no trace of neither flavor nor salt or other seasonings. The pieces of beef in the cognac dish were tiny and completely dry, seemingly from having been boiled in all the cream. Staff were mostly young and unexperienced. Food arrived fast, and we were somewhat impressed they managed to overboil both pastas so severely in such a short amount of time. Might be a nice place if you just need to feed your kids with some simple food.

Very good place. Good service and so sweet waiters. Tasty food. We ordered 2 pizza and 2 pink lemonade. It was fantastic. We got drinks in 3 minutes, and pizzas in 10 minutes

I bought the salad with shrimp and homemade mango salsa. The salad was fine, although a little dry, and the mango salsa was just a few pieces of mango scattered around on top of the salad. The shrimp felt like it was came right from a pre-cooked bucket of shrimp bought in a grocery store. I think the food might've gotten three stars, but if you're eating outside, you need to be prepared that the other tables are allowed to smokez which further ruins the experience if you're not a smoker

Perfect place for a good solid meal. Don't expect a full 3 or 4 stroke menu, but expect one plate of good chicken breast and frites for a low price.

Solid restaurant, Nils is a great guy and service is fairly fast. Chicken was a little dry but the schnitzel was great.

Well, where do we start. This was the most exceptional restaurant we have been to in Denmark and the EU so far during our amazing holiday. We have had the traditional night guards, the best food ever, wine to die for, and our waiter Kenneth, went above and beyond to look after us tonight. This was a 10 star experience for sure. Very nice restaurant, they have gluten free bread (although it was sold out on the day I was there). I had an egg dish in a cast iron pan that was a bit salty, but very good. Not much to choose from on the menu if you are gluten free.

Very yummy burgers and fish and chips for the kids and even though we arrived 10 minutes before they closed the kitchen. And the local beer from Epeltoft was also very good.

Just really nice, funny and honest people making really (REALLY) nice food and wanting you to enjoy. And we did. Just don't be picky, and go here if you're searching for a restaurant. The best restaurant in Ebeltoft! We chose the 3 course menu and it did not dissapoint. The food was really good. It all matched really well. They smoke the salmon theirself and it was the best. On top of that, the service was also very good. We had really nice conversations with the owners of the restaurant. We will go back - maybe to live nearby or on another holiday - but we will certainly eat here again!

Cosy quaint restaurant in the heart of the town that will make you feel good before you even taste the food but the food certainly doesn't play second place to the surroundings. We started with a lobster bisque soup with a couple of amazingly well cooked scallops then on to one of the best lemon soul dishes I've tasted. Fish cooked to perfection, quite highly seasoned but it suited it perfectly and cooked in a sumptuous butter sauce, a big chunk of lemon to squeeze over and accompanied perfectly by new asparagus potatoes. Service was also relaxed, super friendly and professional.

Saw that there was a café and booked a table for brunch. Instead of brunch we ended up ordering some menu items that had an origin in the staff's home country, Brazil. The tapioka with mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. It was delicious. 🥑☕ The host was very friendly and did her best explaining the key properties of the dishes (and how they differ from Danish dishes). Also, we eavesdropped a bit on her conversation with other customers coming in (we sat right next to the counter). Several people spoke purely Danish to her, but she did a good job accommodating people in a mix of Danish and English 🗨️😎👍 We would love to come back another time!

Served prosciutto in a sandwich with Danish butter - and nothing else. Needless to say, that tastes really bad, mistreat of italian food. Staff could not see the problem. Gave them back the sandwich. Answer to reply: I was not rude, quite the opposite I think. I tried to explain why it was not good and asked if they made a mistake preparing it. If the staff is uncomfortable with feedback, don’t mistake that for customers being rude. Take it as constructive feedback.

Amazing place!! The service and people were lovely and there was such a lovely vibe in the place, they support local artists and have so much taste!

We had lunch there, the atmosphere is great. But the prices are wild, specially for the food. It's small portions of medium quality and the price is extreme. Many times quality and price goes hand in hand. But not here.

Asking if we can order something to wat and they said the kitchen is closed. Other People receive the menu...... That is strange and not customer friendly. But when we see the other reviews then we are glad we didn't order anything

This was by far one of the nicest hotels rooms we've ever stayed in and hands down the nicest we've seen in Denmark. We want to come back for a longer stay in the future!

The rooms have a great view and size. The beds a comfy but the blankets are very warm, there is no air conditioning in the room. There is a kitchen sink with a decent sized fridge. The breakfast was decent, nothing impressive. I wish they would vary the options for eggs, vegetables, cereal and pastries. Instead of servings the exact same thing every day. For dinner we went for the shellfish evening buffet with Rose. Which was a hit of disappointment compared to the overall price. The shellfish was good, but we expected a wider selection than just scrimps. The staff and service at the hotel is not proactive in any way. They rarely checked up with the amount of food at the buffet, nor refilling the coffee cans and they did not seem service minded whenever we asked for advice or assistance. You can purchase cafe latte and other coffees from the barista, however none of them lived up to the +40 DKK price tag. We were unable to turn on the Sauna without contacting a member of the staff. The sauna later went out of service, the staff did not put in much effort to resolve the problem which was a disappointment as well. Overall the rooms and the view is great, but I would not stay here again unless they increase their service and breakfast options.

room was absolutely stunning - clean modern design with very high ceiling and exposed beams - and a wonderfull view over the sea from the private terrasse just outside the room breakfast was also very good with very attentive and polite staff couple if thing on the room design however where somewhat odd - and appeared to be not very well considered for guest usability: 1) the closest plug point for the kettle for making tea/coffee was near the floor under the cupboard where kettle was located - making it somewhat akward to boil water ;-? 2) the bathtub was placed on a elovated platform with 2 tiled steps down from it and a very narrow ledge to get out of the bath on - not the safest when getting out of a bath :-? 3) bathroom was very large yet toilet was crammed into a narrow corner next to the sink console :-? so great place but could do with staff/owners actually spending a night in the rooms to see what works - and what does not .....

Just like their restaurant in Aarhus, the food and hospitality are top-notch, uncomplicated and make you feel welcome and relaxed. We'll definitely be back for more!

As a starter we had three leaves of spinach, with two (burnt) bimi vegetables, half a small pickle and two tufts of pureed spinach. As a main course we had a small (dry and boiled) piece of chicken, with three chicken hearts and three (hard) carrots. For dessert we had a small slice of white chocolate with a scoop of chocolate mousse. For this we had to pay almost 400 euros. 2700 Danish krone. Then we called off the next day, because we were going to have dinner here for another evening. The gentleman asked if it was to our liking the previous evening. We honestly said what we thought of it. The gentleman said that next time we could eat better in Grenaa, because that was more "our style", because maybe according to him this was "haute cuisine". Every time I think Denmark can't get any better I find something like Chris' pizza. The pizza is really good with interesting twists and a really good dough. The beer is from the ebeltoft brewery (which you should visit too) and really good. You can enjoy your pizza with sea view. The vibe is relaxed, innovative and community like. You can not only get pizza but also use different activities like stand up paddling (2 hours with one pizza) or table tennis and more. I really enjoy these community driven places.

A very charming place in bike cycling distance to Ebeltoft and the see in walking distance. We sat outside and had a brunch. A good strong café used for the cappuccino. A clear recommendation.

We went for a lunch with our family as it is just round the corner from our accommodation. It isn’t obvious from the road that it’s open, but once inside it is absolutely lovely. Really large open space, and delicious home made food. The foccacia bread was especially good!! Would definitely recommend. I didn’t have the salad bowl but it looked really good too!
