Water Parks
Chorlton Water Park, located south of Manchester, is a reclaimed farmland featuring woods, a gravel pit for fishing, a pond-dipping platform, and a play area. The park offers a lovely trail along Sale Water Park and the River Mersey. Families can enjoy the built-in play area and ice cream trucks while exploring the grassy fields, woodland, and local nature around the central lake. Additionally, it's an ideal spot for cycling enthusiasts seeking some exercise.
Absolute fantastic 👍 experience here today. Lovely walks, beautiful scenery. There are two playgrounds for kids, one is a bit further down up hill. Absolutely great for dog walking and a must for relaxation. The only downfall+ cafe was shut. Play park is not big, but excellent for over 6+ ages.
Irina K — Google review
Lovely place for a walk if the weather is good, and you can get on to the Mersey and join the Transpennine Trail if you want to extend your stroll. There's a good children's playground and it's pretty flat to go around the lake (suitable for buggies or a robust mobility scooter). There's a car park with toilets (they are not great though) and there's often an ice cream van there too.
Tim J — Google review
Lovely park nice and quite not alot of people around so you can enjoy this tranquil space the lake is really big with ducks and swans to feed. Nice little park for the kids to play in and it's also nice and clean too. Lots of paths and clear signage so you know where you are walking to we spent a total of 2 hour here it was lovely 😍 👌
Tay M — Google review
We went on an Autumn day and spent a couple of hours here walking around and then playing in the park. There is carparking on site and cafe. For the toilets take your own soap and toilet paper, there wasn't any . We always bring some with us.

A Hidden Gem in Manchester! I recently visited Chorlton Water Park, and I have to say, it was a delightful surprise! Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this place offers a perfect escape into nature. The lake is serene, surrounded by lush greenery and filled with wildlife. It’s a fantastic spot for a leisurely walk, and the trails are well-maintained and accessible. I loved seeing families, dog walkers, and joggers all enjoying the fresh air. There are plenty of spots to sit and take in the view, and the playground was a hit with the kids. If you’re into bird watching, bring your binoculars—there’s so much to see! Parking was straightforward, and it’s great that it’s free. My only tip would be to bring some snacks and drinks, as facilities are a bit limited, but that’s a small price to pay for such a natural oasis. Whether you’re looking to relax, get some exercise, or simply enjoy the outdoors, Chorlton Water Park is well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back!"
Faisal J — Google review
Lovely lake to take the dog on a walk around, gets busy on a weekend after around 11am with lots of people have a jog or walking the dogs as well. There’s a little playpark for kids not far inside the entrance, along with the Tibetan cafe for food and coffee. There’s a car pack with toilets, 4* for the review is because the toilets aren’t particularly nice, but overall a lovely place to have a walk!
Laura F — Google review
A beautiful park with lots of easy walks around a gorgeous lake ,there is a large car park and nice clean toilets. A great little cafe and an ice cream van in the summer. A great place to visit all year round.

Walkden Gardens, located in Sale, is a public green space owned by Trafford Council. It features various gardens including fuchsia, rose, wisteria, and Japanese gardens. The gardens are known for hosting outdoor stage events and theatrical performances during the summer months. Visitors can also enjoy homemade refreshments at the dedicated theatre lawn or attend sunset cinema screenings. With its serene atmosphere and diverse flora, Walkden Gardens offers a relaxing escape into nature.
Beautiful free garden to wander around in. Very well maintained and a lovely place to be. Makes a difference to the other neglected parks in the area.
Mark B — Google review
A really beautiful and unique garden that kind of feels like being in a video game map. It's clear there's been a lot of effort put into making and maintaining it.
Iqtrab F — Google review
The Walken Gardens is not only a charming garden for the Wisteria goers but it is also a picnic place for family gatherings on holidays. The particular design of the garden is a mysterious maze giving you a challenge on the lawns walking through to find your way out. When entering the Gardens, people are firstly greeted by the "Dovecote" standing solemly before your sight. Walking along the lawns of the maze, you can find an arch built for the wiseria plants climbing on it , red maples to attract your eye-sight, types of butterflies and bees dancing among the flower blossoms. People are hardly to find a garden like Walken Gardens because there are spacious squares designed inside the maze for families to bring their children for a picnic here. It is a pity that most of the wisteria blossms had fallen when I have visited. There are still some strings of them hanging down overhead from the brim of the arch. Wisteria goers can have a good view in the early May of each year.
Chan A — Google review
Wisteria is blooming! Finally caught it this year:) This garden is always well looked after
Joyce S — Google review
Small but perfectly formed park! Best bit IMO is the Japanese garden which looks beautiful in all seasons with its stone river and cute seating area. Also has a wisteria tunnel, which is amazing to walk through when in bloom, a mini hill great for little ones to tumble down and a mini maze. No swings or slides though, just lots of connected little gardens.
Zareena — Google review
A pretty little gardens, great in all seasons, especially autumn when all the leaves change colour. In spring the flowers are beautiful and vibrant. Good place for a short walk with the dog, although dogs are kept on leads which is good for nervous dogs or puppies.

Absolutely fantastic! Our first time here. Park is absolutely huge. With an open area for dog walking to two separate parks, which is for smaller kids, one for older. Lovely little walks plus skate park. With a beautiful and peaceful nature.
Irina K — Google review
Nice park popular for dog walks and runners. Well maintained and supported by a local group.
David A — Google review
Love this park. Great for dogwalking and picnics with grandchildren. Best of all is the ice cream van that visits. The most delicious and creamy soft serve ever. Not overpriced and a lovely woman working in the van. Worth going to the park just to have it.
Jan L — Google review
Beautiful, well kept park, two playgrounds, bowling greens and an adult exercise area which is well kitted out. Dog walkers respect the park. Amazing new chainsaw sculptures and panels of stunning photographs, drawn by children of the local school, added since our last visit.
Andy R — Google review
Great location to find parking places. You can park in side roads or outside by the main entrance and it's free. This park contains 2 big fields, 2 children playground areas, some materiel for gym and workout and 1 skating playground. The toilet here is closed, so bear in mind this in case you need a wee 😁 Great park for short walks and dog walks.

I think it’s the best park in Sale. It’s got to be the biggest with a massive field and trees all round. Look out for the brilliant wood sculptures dotted around. I will post a couple of pics.

Located in Manchester, Trafford Watersports Centre offers a safe and secure environment for learning various water activities such as sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking, and power boating. The center provides trained instructors to guide participants through the activities. Visitors have praised the friendly staff and affordable pricing structure where you pay per craft rather than per person. The facility also offers free parking, toilets, changing rooms, and a restaurant.
Enjoyed a fun kayaking session here with instructor Tyler. Everything was easy to arrange (I had booked in advance on the peak website), and we were in the water in no time. It was great to learn some new paddling skills from a experienced trainer, and I'm hoping to go back with more family and friends soon. I did get slightly soggy feet getting in the kayak, so water shoes are probably a good idea. I was particularly happy to hear the activities here can be adapted for all types of bodies and abilities - a big plus!
E S — Google review
I have been coming here with my own kayak. Only today I was approached by someone on a boat telling me I cannot bring my own kayak, unless I pay at the reception (for Insurence purposes). Interestingly, I have been to reception several times in the past and the same as today, it has been and is closed. Very disappointing. Lakes and rivers should be ok to enter on your own kayak without having to pay - for non existent services!?
Helena H — Google review
Visited today and informed they no longer allow for solo kayak hire or self launches. Staff are still friendly but shame to see a once amazing facility drop so far from grace and a great waste of a beautiful lake especially on sunny days.

Just Completed the Powerboat level two course and i can highly recommend trafford water sports centre! Chris our instructor was friendly, knowledgeable and very good at teaching and explaining the course. There was a good balance of theory and practical that it made it a really enjoyable experience! I would happily recommend this course to everyone! You won't be disappointed! A++

Absolutely love thus place all year round but especially in summer where it's always good to have a paddle. There's supervised swimming 🏊‍♂️, canoeing, jet skiing 🎿 to name but a few. I just like to have a walk and reconnect with nature. Great place to walk your dog 🐕.
Mark R — Google review
Lovely place to walk around at anytime of the day. But i do enjoy an evening walk 👌 The restaurant stays open quite late and offers take out option on their hot drinks, possibly others never tried. The restaurant staff are helpful and friendly too. There are a few different walks available, lots of great photo opportunities and also a wildlife hut half way if you need to take 5. Benches around the walk too. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Never tried the water activities but from what I have seen they appear to be good, folk sound happy enough when partaking. Great for dog walks too

Lovely park for a walk or a picnic on a sunny day. Quite big and plenty of space to sit around the lake. **PLEASE NOTE: No renting available this summer - which was quite disappointing since we had read online that you were able to hire pedal boats, canoes, kayaks etc.

Nestled by the serene waters, The Boathouse is the perfect spot for a leisurely Sunday roast, offering stunning lakeside views that enhance your dining experience regardless of the weather. On sunny days, you can unwind at their outdoor bar area while soaking in the picturesque scenery. The restaurant boasts a delightful menu with attentive service; highlights include their Chicken Smokey—a succulent dish featuring bacon-wrapped chicken smothered in cheese and a creamy white wine and leek sauce, served alongside chunky chips and broccoli.
The Boathouse Restaurant offers a lovely dining experience with a good menu and attentive service. The Chicken Smokey was a highlight, with juicy chicken wrapped in bacon, oozing with cheese, and topped with a creamy white wine and leek sauce. Paired with chunky chips and broccoli, it’s delicious. On the other hand, the Mixed Grill had its ups and downs. While the portion size was generous and the mushroom sauce was excellent, the chicken was unfortunately dry, and the sausages were overcooked. Overall, the staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. Despite some inconsistencies in the Mixed Grill, the Chicken Smokey is worth a visit. A solid choice for a satisfying meal!

Lovely spot for lunch with a stunning view over Sale Water Park. The fish and chips were tasty, and the mixed salad fresh and satisfying. The interior decor adds to the charm, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a scenic meal. Would definitely visit again!

This place is an absolute hidden gem! Free parking opens up to a beautiful top floor restaurant overlooking Sale Waterpark, you get a great view of everything including the paddle boarding and the jet skis. Service was quick, friendly and the food was super quick and tasty! Big chunky chips with a lovely large piece of battered fish. Come between 5 and 7 for the 2 course deal for 17.90, very reasonable indeed. Will be back soon 👌👍

The food was half decent pub food grade grub nothing to complain or sing about. Even though the onion rings took three years off my life, they were lovely, crispy and in their hundreds. The pavlova saved the day to be honest it was delightful I should probably sing about that 🤔

Had an office party here. After the activities at the Water Centre we enjoyed food and drinks at the Boathouse. I was positively surprised with every food item and cocktail served (and I have tried the lot of them). Salmon was excellent, pies were great, lasagne was brilliant. Staff was very helpful and approachable. Highly recommended, without even mentioning the view of the lake, which is a major selling point on its own.

I would highly recommend and I certainly will be going back. 5 stars all round.

Bit upset as had a nice ish meal but the manager added drinks, including a bottle of tap water to our bill, along with adding other items. It’s happened quite a few times now and hate checking my bill stringently. Didn’t want to make a scene so decided not to make a big deal. But won’t be visiting again. It’d be better to increase the food prices rather than trying to make money dishonestly.

KFC Manchester - Barlow Moor Road is a well-known fast food eatery recognized for its servings of fried poultry in large containers, alongside combination dishes and accompanying options.

Was told we hadn't ordered the boneless dipping feast, we had but were charged for something else. Then made to pay for the other stuff we wanted. Food was all cold and the staff didn’t seem to care and acted like we were the problem when we just wanted what we had actually ordered. This young Asian guy at this kfc didn’t wear a name badge so I asked for his name after he was rude about getting our order wrong after confirming it at least 4 times. He refused to give his name, clearly lied about being the the manager as he laughed about it after he said it and told us he gave expired food after he got our order wrong. Then he took a photo of our car without a valid reason when he was the one in the wrong for all of the above reasons I’ve been going to that KFC for over 25 years and he ruined our experience of it. Absolutely disgusting service. Very disappointed at his lack of basic customer service. I would like the email address to complain about this rude individual.

Hi so first of all we took an order and we were at the first point where we were giving the order and we’ve specifically said can we have 60 popcorn chicken with two supercharger sauce and the person who is taking our order ibrar MGR? He started talking about chips and drink to add so he ignored us and when we got the food we checked and we got the food the woman who gave me the food was very rude to me and the person I was with and she started to argue and this is constant with this person Everytime we go she’s rude and in a mood that’s not our fault is it. we are willing to pay but the rudeness and aggressiveness she gave to us wasn’t right and calling us a liar just like the other man but you can’t get the order wrong and just be rude about it we are regular customers and today they were very rude the lady is always rude to us and so is the ibrar guy included who was calling us stuff like liar when we said it so it’s very rude of him to accuse us just like that while calling us a liar money isn’t an issue when we are local it’s not professional while we waited for so long just for it to be wrong it’s not our fault he should have double checked and next time if we come and they are being very rude we will complain until they are gone because there’s a limit of rudeness that people can handle if it is consistent then these complains from us will be as well this is a local kfc coming for many years and these new staff are very rude so please make sure you handle them. We don’t know the rude womans name but she’s Pakistani we think) this happened around 18:25 on Saturday if you want to see who was on work at that time and talk to them to sort there behaviour with their fellow customers because its always the customers who are right as the saying goes in uk. Also we’ve just seen some reviews about this ibrar guy it’s the same one as his attitude in those are just as what we have experienced such an arrogant guy can you please sort him out

The whole incident took place yesterday at around 21:20 Barlowmour Rd KFC. I went to this kfc branck with my family while eating food I went back to the counter to take Mayo sauce Thier was a female customer standing and waiting after ordering food on self paying kiosk was waiting for her food to be cooked. I took sauce and was going back to my table(Where we were eating with my wife and 3 kids She approached me and said "learn manners I am standing before you" I told her eating inside and I can take sauce she was getting more furious, I asked a staff for help to make her understand as she was getting upset, Staff was least interested to answer or getting involve in just telling her that I can come and get ketchup or Mayo where as she was already waiting for her food to cooked and packed. While I was explaining this and staff wasn't interested in any matter she said "No one is interested in hearing you" I replied it's fine no one is interested to hear you too" and went to my table She followed me to my table pointing finger at my face in front of my kids that "you are going to regret you can't talk to me like that" and in front of my kids she said I am going to call my family outside and they will tell you the moment you will go out you are going to regret" My wife and kids were so harassed my wife said Sorry please let us have our dinner while leaving lady shouted "You are a disgrace to your family" and took phone out and started calling someone telling them to come over to KFC to harass us further more and My kids and I was hearing that what she was talking about on her phone and my kids were looking out of the window freighted that she has called someone outside. As we can hear her on Phone she was scaring us the more. She destroyed our weekend and calling me a disgrace in front of my family and in front of my kids and harassed my kids, She stood at the door of KFC for a while looking at me in so much anger in her eyes the moment she left we went outside leaving our food and rushing out of the place. I have informed the Police please my request to this KFC is please provide them with the Cctv so they may trace her. The I have mentioned the time please provide outside cctv footage so they may trace her from her car plate. Please tell the staff to help customers in this situation.

KFC’s in general are unreliable and expensive but this one takes the award for consistently getting it wrong. Ordered a boneless banquet for £25. Bags of chips which are half full, tiny pieces of chicken which apparently class as a tender, and to top it off they forgot our drink. Driver says he was never handed a drink, but staff blame the driver. This will be the last time I order from here, and I’d advise you to go elsewhere to the smaller chicken shops.

The John Rylands Research Institute and Library, part of the University of Manchester, is a neo-gothic masterpiece designed by Alfred Waterhouse. Built in the 1890s by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands as a memorial to her husband, this red sandstone library resembles a cathedral and houses exceptional collections of illuminated manuscripts and beautifully illustrated books.
This building is breathtaking inside. As you first go in the building is really modern and then you step back in time to the original library The carvings, lights, book shelves and the architecture of the interior itself is stunning I love the fact that the library was designed for local working class people to read and not just the elite. The John Rylands Library is a photographers paradise. Really worth visiting.

Amazing library and is worth a visit especially since their is no admission fee (please feel free to make a donation). Although the library looks quite old, it only opened on January 1, 1900. It took ten years to build and was founded by Enriqueta Rylands in memory of her husband, John Rylands. The staff here are extremely knowledgeable, it's worth waiting for the talk they give about the building's history. They're are some very impressive works in their collection. A copy of the Gutenberg Bible, a copy of Shakespeare's famous First Folio from 1623, and many more impressive items. It is a true functioning library and you can view books in their collections. We were very impressed with the library and will come back on our next visit to Manchester.

Went to this library with my friend previously, very astonished to see the lovely architecture and design of the place. Also there is a mini bay with a modern building right beside it, yet they were blended together very well. The differences and blending of both buildings are just fascinating. Again, our visit is just magically enhanced by the rare but welcomed sunshine. Took such great photos because of it as it shows how beautiful the stained glass windows are ♥️✨

100% worth a visit, for exploring or studying, I'd recommend getting in there early though before the crowds assend upon the library. It's like stepping into a library from Hogwarts, or more accurately put, I can see where the inspiration for a set from Harry Potter came from. Free entry, but you may need to wait in line for 10-15minutes, but don't let that put you off visiting as you will not be disappointed.
Jamie H — Google review
One of Manchester’s best attractions to visit. Very highly maintained building with a blend of old and new architecture. The reading rooms are beautiful and so is the library upstairs. The building is well laid out. They also offer a free talk giving you insight into the history of this place. Toilet facilities on site. Free entry. Staff are friendly too.

Absolutely stunning place, John Rylands Library is a must visit in Manchester! Part of the University of Manchester, this Gothic style library is open to the public for free. The architecture is breathtaking like stepping into a 19th century castle. Vaulted ceilings, intricate stone carvings, and dramatic lighting give it a magical, almost Hogwarts like atmosphere. The collection is equally impressive. Even if you’re not a book lover, the building alone is worth the visit. Peaceful, historic, and visually spectacular. Just remember, it’s a working library, so be respectful and keep your voice down. Perfect for fans of history, architecture, or anyone looking for a quiet escape in the heart of Manchester.

Today i visited the John Rylands Library in Manchester, England. It is a neo-Gothic building that was founded by Enriqueta Rylands in memory of her husband, John Rylands, and opened in 1900. The building is considered one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic architecture in Europe The library is part of the University of Manchester and houses a large collection of rare books, manuscripts, and archives. The money in which the library comes from has a bit of a dark past. The Rylands' wealth was significantly linked to the transatlantic slave trade, as much of the cotton used in their mills was cultivated by enslaved people in the Americas.

Free entry and waiting time differs at what time of the day and what days you go. Friendly and approachable staff. Beautiful architecture. Exhibition is in the level 1 and reading room in level 2. Reading room has religion, history and geography books and Level 3 has research rooms to study the books which require appointment. People also come here for photoshoots such as for their graduation photos. Definitely worth a visit if you are coming to Manchester.

I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share what I witnessed during my visit on Wednesday morning. One of the male staff members—approximately 40–50 years old, bald, about 168cm tall, and of Caucasian appearance—displayed extremely poor customer service. What deeply concerned me was his apparent disrespect toward customers who did not speak English fluently. I saw him treat a non-English-speaking guest in a dismissive and demeaning manner, showing no effort to understand or assist them. His attitude was not only unhelpful but bordered on discriminatory. As someone who values fairness and professionalism, I find this behavior unacceptable, especially in a hospitality-driven environment like a casino. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides proper training to ensure all guests are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or language ability.

Nestled alongside the picturesque Bridgewater Canal, Waterside Arts Centre is a vibrant arts complex that has transformed from the former Sale Civic Theatre into a dynamic hub for creativity since 2004. This eclectic venue boasts a theatre, studios, and art galleries all under one roof, making it an essential stop for anyone interested in performance and visual arts. The centre regularly hosts touring theatre productions, live music events, comedy shows, and captivating exhibitions that cater to diverse tastes.
We went to see the brilliant Ray Harryhausen exhibit. The exhibit, while small at only two rooms, was excellent and contained several models from well known films (including a skeleton from Jason and the Argonauts!) and also models and concept art from several unproduced works, including "Force of the Trojans", which would have come after "Clash of the Titans". The is also a nice cafe and a shop to buy some great RH merch. A must see for fans!

Went to See Hunter Kings 'A Northern Tr*nny Hootenanny" - one of the best pieces of theatre I've seen. Joyful, emotional, hilarious, inspiring and brilliant vocals. The staff at the venue was very helpful, the tech for the show was brilliant and it's got a lovely little bar / cafe. What a great place.

You can get a voucher to put towards your parking if you've parked in the NCP multi-storey - this isn't something I was made aware of! The centre itself is lovely, bright, airy, and clean. The seats in the theatre aren't the comfiest ever, but could be worse and legroom was okay. Had a great evening with Hester Grainger, and would happily go back for another event.

Visited to see the Postman Pat exhibition, absolutely brilliant, it's only a small collection but it is amazing to see it. Reminiscing on my childhood of watching the TV show as a child. The exhibition is free to visit, there is a recommended donation of £1, which I happily put in the donation box.

Amazing place for a date is you dint mind hearing the odd child scream. Was a lovely time spending my wife Birthday here , she staff was fantastic and helped with differnt ways to paint and use the tools they have. The food was way better then what you expect for a cafe and I highly recommend going here! Only thing to consider is you get about 2 hours for your table booking so be awere of your time.

Had a great time pottery painting, there are loads of different dishes/pottery to choose from and so many colours to choose from too. The pottery was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great, we never felt rushed and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a wholesome activity that’s a bit different from the usual!! Also we only had to wait a week before we could collect the fired and glazed finished product which was great!

A fantastic place to go to unwind and chill. An amazing range of different things to paint, while you eat great tasty food and drink the wonderful hot chocolate with all the trimmings. Absolutely amazing experience, the staff the drinks and the vibes I could spend all day here so therapeutic. Cant wait to come back to this lovey place 🤍 Variety of things to choose from a good range of prices. Paints are easy to access and numbered to see the colours from the piece of paper given. Table service. Wish I could spend more time I feel the time flew by, especially when you pick the bigger things to paint 🎨

Came here for an evening session and had the best time. The staff were friendly and informative. We were shocked by the huge range of pottery to pick from and also the colours. It was BYOB but they had a cheap soft drink menu and small evening food menu including nachos. Only downside is that we all struggled to find the café but none of us are from Sale tbf!

Loved it here! The food is lovely and the children's meal was a big hit with my little girl. We visited twice in the week do we managed to take a few photos. Pre book if you can because it does get very busy, especially in the school holidays and the weekends. We got to choose our little piece of pottery (prices are all on the bottom of the pots), different prices, all depending on size, etc. We then decided what paints we wanted, and then we had 2 hours for our booking to complete our little masterpiece! Once you have finished, you hand it over to the staff, and they give you a slip with an order number on, and then you collect it a week later once its been in the kiln. It is a lovely little treat, and it's not just for kids either. Many adults/couples were enjoying this too. I'd definitely go back. The staff were all lovely and very helpful too. 😀

I had a great time, it's a lovely place to spend time with family. They have plenty of pots available and the colours are nice. Book your table during the week if you want more of a quiet and relaxing time

Went for my partner's birthday, and I asked if the staff could prepare a birthday note for her. When we got there, they wished her a happy birthday, and had the booked table set with a 'Happy Birthday' sign and I really appreciated that they went to that extent for the booking. Besides that, the time we spent brushing was super fun and memorable. We may have gone during a quieter period, for Monday afternoon, and only a few other tables were booked, but everyone seemed to be having a good time too. The painting supplies were plentiful and easy to locate and use. Looking forward to picking up our bowl and plate. Amazing experience if you're looking for a date idea!

Blanchflower is a brunch spot and bakery right beside the town centre in Sale. The atmosphere was lively and the decor was very modern. We wanted some brunch and wanted to try their vegan options. I had the vegan sweetcorn fritters with scrambled tofu. The fritters were delicious, garnished with loads of vegetable, herbs and some sauce making for a super colourful plate. The scrambled tofu was well cooked and seasoned and worked really well in the dish. I also had the parsnip lentil soup with wild garlic pesto and it was absolutely gorgeous! So rich and satiating, the wild garlic pesto really made it special. Overall the food is really flavourful with a decent selection of vegan options. We were served by Allie who gave us lots of great advice on what to order and instantly knew the vegan options from the menu. The service, food and atmosphere was brilliant so I would definitely advise anyone to come and try Blanchflower 😊

We celebrated my daughters 20th birthday here with a few cocktails and food. It was very quiet. We were the only people inside, although there were more people outside. We had several cocktails which were delicious. Although my 241 pina coladas were different colours due to the juice carton not being shaken so one was a bit weak. We ordered 2 platters for 2 which was a mix of chicken, fries, garlic bread and dips with extra sweet potato fries and chicken . Sadly the sliders were a bit dry, both bread and chicken . The rest was good. There was plenty of food for 5 people. The service was good too. We'll definitely be visiting again. 😊

I’ve always wanted to try this Thai restaurant The restaurant is located in an isolated area of Deansgate Cinema. It’s a good place to eat after watching the movie. The seats are spacious and comfortable, but the air conditioning is not enough, so it may get a little hot in summer The curry with boiled prawns and Tom Yum Goong is so delicious, with just the right amount of sourness and spiciness. In addition, the spicy shredded pork rice is recommended. The sauce is delicious. After the meal, the staff would come over and ask for advice on the food. It turns out that the boss and the chef’s wife are both from Bangkok, Thailand. The family has been running this restaurant for several years The taste retains the Thai cooking method while suiting local tastes appropriately. At least I think it tastes better than chain stores

We had an absolutely amazing evening here! Great food and lovely atmosphere, very homely and lovely:)

I ate here with my son this afternoon. We had a main each and shared a side dish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food, it was delicious, fresh and well presented. They were good portion sizes, plenty for us and it wasn’t a long wait. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. The young lady serving us was friendly, polite and also helpful when we enquired about different dishes. £44 for our meals and a drink each was good value. We will definitely be back and will visit again with friends.

The food itself was flavoursome and fragrant, however with the curry dish the portion size was extremely small, you barely get much meat. The noodle dish was generous with the prawns, but not much noodles, the soup was hearty and delicious though but just wish they had more noodles. Overall the food is nice but it’s quite expensive for the small portion sizes you get.
Kirst L — Google review
Friendly staff, great food! There was some overpricing and the portions were small. Paying £42 for two people, I was expecting portion sizes and prices to match the food.

Nestled near the canal on the south side of town, Walton Park is a delightful destination for families and nature lovers alike. This charming park boasts two playgrounds tailored for different age groups, ensuring that both toddlers and older kids can enjoy their time outdoors. The play areas are equipped with an array of wooden climbing frames, swings, and slides, providing endless fun.
Wonderful bit of park and nature in Sale. The canal is beautiful on a sunny day as well as the boat bar. Lovely for a walk with the dogs.

Lovely little park. Highlight is the 30p sit on train. Kids playground. Just needs the bushes trimming on the path round the bowling green. Coffee barge well placed!
Neil S — Google review
I recently visited Walton Park for a day of family and friends fun, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The park offered a wide range of amenities that catered to various interests. One of the highlights of the park was its well-maintained playground. It was thoughtfully divided into sections, ensuring that children of all ages could have a great time. The play area for toddlers was perfect for the little ones to explore and play safely, while the separate play area for older kids provided an engaging space for them to run, climb, and have fun. Sports enthusiasts had their share of excitement too. The tennis and basketball courts were in excellent condition, and what I particularly liked was the flexibility to use the same court for 5-a-side football. We even tried our hand at cricket, although it might not have been the intended use for the space. The only downside was that the toilets were closed during our visit, which was a bit inconvenient, hopefully this might have been a temporary issue. For those looking for a quieter experience, the peaceful walk by the canal adjacent to the park was a serene escape from the playground's energy. Additionally, the small train ride available on Sundays added an extra layer of excitement for the kids. One minor suggestion would be to add more slides to the kids' play area. After a while, my children did start to get a bit bored, and a few additional play elements could have kept them entertained for longer. All in all, our visit to Walton Park was a pleasant one. It's a well-rounded destination for families, sports enthusiasts, and those seeking a tranquil walk by the water. With a few minor improvements, it could become an even more attractive spot for a day of outdoor enjoyment.

Great park to take the little ones as there are two play areas (one for toddlers and one for older kids). Free basketball and tennis courts. The park even connects onto the canal for lovely walks.

Brilliant little park! Love the miniature railway.
Will D — Google review
Beautiful compact park with a large field, well maintained gardens, basketball court, playground and a little train track! Plus it backs on to the canal. Small but you could easily spend a whole day here.
Alix D — Google review
It's a nice little place with a miniature train for kids that runs on certain days.ot has a canal boat cafe aswell. We took are youngest grandchild there, had to stop a cockapoo puppy from mouthing the child because the owners weren't watching it properly, they were more concerned with chatting. But apart from idiots who weren't watching their dog properly it's a nice place to visit.

Its a good place for under 10 years of age children , our children enjoyed their time there, reasonable prices, enough parking spaces and it’s tucked away from main road which makes it quite peaceful, staff is very friendly and helpful

My little girl loved it here today. We could get drinks and snacks and sit happily while being able to see our daughter play safe in our view. Although the go-karts arnt here now witch was abit of a downer but definitely wouldn't put us off coming back. So much space for the kids to have fun, and great seating for parents. Toilets and changing room. Very clean place. We'll be back thank you.

With it being half term, the usual soft play area we were to go to was fully booked so opted for this one with it being quite close. I wish we had found out about it sooner! Our 6yr old loved it. Big indoor play area for older kids as well as a little one for the under 4s, friendly staff and food was above expectations (bistro quality salt and pepper fries ordered). The place was clean, even while we were there, the staff swept around the tables. As an addition, we’d asked about the meat being halal and they confirmed it was. Great time all around, we’ll definitely be back.

Great place. Went with my 18 month old, it was about £9 for both of us. Great area for toddlers with climbing circuit, slides and ball pit. Big bit for older kids which looks great. They did bubble time and dancing at 11. Staff really nice and it was really clean. Will definitely come again!
Fee G — Google review
Great fun for the children, a lovely sensory room too. Plus an outdoor play area as an added bonus. Friendly helpful staff! The food from the cafe was very enjoyable, though the chicken nuggets my daughter had were 'very' greasy. Disabled toilets aswell as baby changing facilities too. My daughter who is 8 year old has autism, she enjoyed her visit here😊 please consider changing facilities for older children who are still in pads, this would be so much appreciated by myself and many more I'm sure. A positive experience and would go again. Thanks..

Clean and big but vastly over priced @£9+ for a 3yr old. The 'Toddler Town' area for 0-3,yes is tiny and made even more so due to Mum's sat talking in the area. The carousel and advertised go carts don't work either. Disappointing overall. Perhaps best for older children but still expensive for what you get!
Gillian — Google review
Good price, a little dated but it's priced accoridngly. Great for kids to pass time, they really enjoyed it. They don't have session time limits when not busy so that's a huge bonus when compared to other soft plays.
Saurav G — Google review
My 3 year old loved it here. They have a 0-3 safe small area. And a 3+ big area! A huge climbing frame! With lots of slides. The go cart is an extra £1. And yet to be able to go in the sensory room. Cafe is good, nice coffee. And they do pizza if you are around for a meal time. lots of seating even when busy.

Best sandwich shop in South Manchester by a mile, have been coming here for well over 10 years. Lynn and the team are fantastic, always happy to see you. The food is outstanding and exceptionaly good value. I HIGHLY reccomend a Shark Special with bacon, although I've tried nearly all the menu over the years and there is not a single item I didn't enjoy. Do call ahead for quick pickup, it is busy between 11.30-2.
Nathan R — Google review
Got a bacon and egg sandwich. Lots of bread and not much bacon. Plus the egg had a burnt layer on it that could be peeled off! Never seen that before. Suggests its not cooked fresh? The sandwich was quite cold for something prepared fresh.
