The National War Museum - Fort St Elmo, established in 1975, offers a restored space to delve into Malta's military history through its collection of artifacts and exhibits. The museum is located within the Valletta shopping scene, where visitors can explore various designer brand shops and luxurious retailers along Republic Street. The museum also holds historical significance as it played a crucial role in the defense strategy against Ottoman threats in 1565.
Great museum and place to discover history of Malta. I spent here around 3 hours before it is closed and really want to come back and see some more missed halls. Also there are great views to Sliema and other districts. Definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend 👍🏼

The Museum may not be very large, but it offers a fascinating collection of exhibits. The models and dioramas are especially impressive – detailed and very realistic, they give a good sense of the history being presented. While there aren’t many military vehicles on display, the ones available are quite rare and not something you often see elsewhere.
Overall, it’s a compact but very interesting museum that provides a unique perspective on Malta’s wartime history. Definitely worth a visit if you’re interested in history or military heritage.

Air con inside, and most of the museum is indoors. One of the few wheel chair friendly museums in Malta.
Very impressed by this historic monument. A bastion full of history, so beautiful and so wonderfully preserved. The tour is well structured and allows you to see lots of interesting things about such a wide span of history. My favorite part is on the Great Siege.

What an excellent place to visit whilst in Valletta for the day! For just €10 you get access to the fort and war museum, plus some picturesque views across the bay.
The museum itself was really well done, with a mix of written displays and video exhibits to really bring the stories to life. Each era is split across different buildings, so there is a fair bit of walking involved (including stairs) but it’s well worth it! Easy to spend 1-2 hours here.

This was a cool experience. Not only was this a fort but they have incorporated a few rooms with memorabilia from different times in Malta's history. Well worth a visit. There is a lot of steps to see everything for those that my struggle with steps. We also got to experience the VR they opened the day we visited (we were told). This is a place where if walls could talk it would amazing to hear. If you want to see everything this can take upto 1.5 to 2 hours easily. Also some great views of the sea and the skyline.

Fort St. Angelo is a restored medieval fort located on a peninsula, offering picturesque harbor views and historical displays. Originally constructed as a medieval castle, it was later strengthened by the Knights of Saint John in the 16th century to serve as their residence and headquarters during significant events in Malta's history. The fort played a crucial role in protecting the island and offers multimedia exhibitions that bring its exciting history alive.
Just amazing. Definitely worth every Euro to enter. The history of the fortress is very interesting and I really liked the films that briefly explain the whole history. I recommend not to miss them. However, the amazing views from the fortress are the highlight. You can see the harbours of the Tri-Cities and Valletta. I recommend setting aside at least an hour, more likely two, for the tour. It can be done quickly, but it would be a shame. It is excellent to go to the fortress before sunset. The view of the harbours is amazing! I recommend buying a combo ticket and then go to the harbor museum and the Inquisitor's Palace. These are great for +6 Euro.

Really enjoyed visiting Fort St Angelo in the 3 Cities area. Coming from Australia you just don’t see this sort of thing. It’s historical significance is amazing and Malta should be proud of what they have done at this site. If you take your time and watch the media displays you will learn so much. Great views of Valletta and surrounding 3 Cities. Always a display of super yachts parked out front adds to the atmosphere.
My first fortress ever, and I’m really impressed. I especially enjoyed the residential part of the fort. It’s also a great spot to watch the cannon salutes in Valletta, and overall the fort offers stunning views of the sea and the city.
Fort St. Angelo is absolutely breathtaking and a must-see when visiting Birgu! The location itself is incredible, with panoramic views over the Grand Harbour and Valletta. The fort is steeped in history, from the time of the Knights of St. John to its role in World War II, and it’s very well presented with detailed exhibits and restored areas to explore. Walking through the bastions feels like stepping back in time, and the sense of scale is amazing. It’s peaceful, atmospheric, and a perfect place to take in Malta’s heritage. Highly recommended for both history lovers and anyone who enjoys stunning views.
Fort St. Angelo is one of many amazing buildings built by the Knights of the order of St. John. It is massive and it takes around 2 hours to roam and envelop all the wonderous nooks and crannies of this place. The views are amazing and take time to sit and watch the video productions especially the one in the middle room featuring the great siege of Malta.

Extremely interesting place to visit. Full of information via a variety of sources. Quiet at the time of our visit and we'll worth it. Easy to get to if you get a water taxi from Valetta harbour (same place as the Gozo High Speed Ferry).

I recently visited Domino’s Pizza in Birkirkara and had a really good experience overall. The most expensive frozen pizza I had 😅 literally frozen pizza you can buy in any supermarket 3 times cheaper if not more. Let me share 2 photos and you decide which one is from convenience shop and which one from restaurant for 13.50 because it’s gluten free. But at least if you buy frozen pizza it’s written on the box to spread the salami for better taste haha, well dominos doesn’t know

Great place to chill with amazing wraps and and baguettes. The chicken, bacon potato ciabatta was amazing and loaded with filling. As was the well-stuffed smoked salmon, avocado and rocket salad my wife had which she said was amazing!

Brilliant place for a vegan ftira in Malta. This wee sandwich shop in the heart of Valetta offers made to order sandwiches and you can choose your ingredients from the large selection of vegetables and sauces that are vegan friendly. I think we had kunserva (traditional Maltese tomato sauce/spread) with rocket, aubergine & sun dried tomatoes and my partner avocado and mushroom. Both on traditional ftira bread. Very generous portion and nice to try traditional dishes from Malta but veganised.
Had a long exhausting day of sight seeing and was craving for something light and refreshing for lunch. Stumbled upon this cute little sandwich shop by chance and decided to give it a try with not much expectations and it surprisingly turned out to be one of the most delicious focaccia sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread was warm still, soft and crispy and the ingredients were fresh. Simple yet such a delight. Gets better with each bite. Genuinely could tell that the sandwiches were made with lots of love 🥪💞 A “culinary serendipity”!! 🌟 Please do yourself a favour and come try out one of their sandwiches if you’re nearby and tell them I said hi if you can 💃🏻
I visited The Submarine for lunch. It is located in the center, the people running the restaurant are very friendly & nice. There is an elaborate menu from which we can pick & choose whatever we want in the sandwich. It is helpful for vegetarians and vegans. The sandwich tasted amazing & it is pretty cheap! Highly recommended for everyone. I had selected Baguette with hot sauce, potatoes, onions & avocados.

These are the best sandwiches you will ever eat!! The traditional Maltese bread (Ftira) is the perfect size and texture, the choices for toppings are unbelievable, and Simone’s customer service is outstanding. We went four times during our stay (including one to takeaway to the airport), and each time, Simone’s sandwiches delivered on flavour, freshness and price point (approx 5 euro per sandwich). Each sandwich is made with love and care. The toppings are evenly disturbed within the sandwich, ensuring each bite is as pleasant as the last. This is hands down the best meal we ate in Malta. There is also great seating available in the shade outside, and Simone will deliver your sandwiches and ice cold Kinnie with a smile.
Amazing place with delicious freshly made sandwiches. I ordered vegetarian maltese and the cheese was wonderful. The service was very helpful and friendly, helped a lot with choosing the perfect option. You can choose from different types or make your own sandwich. The bread was fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We waited only a few minutes for our order and paid 8€ for one sandwich. Highly reccomend!
Without doubt, the best sandwich my wife and I ever had. The woman working behind the counter is awesome, no frills, all warmth and jokes. Make your own, over 300,000 (yes) combinations. For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Park Nazzjonali Ta' Qali, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to St Helen's Basilica. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Came here for a solo day out and it is beautiful! Although there’s not much to do around it so if you come bring a packed lunch and some entertainment. Someone recommended a stay of a couple of hours and I would say thats the max if you’re coming on your own, although if you’re coming with the family it would be a lovely chilled day out.
Incredibly well-groomed, large and beautiful park. We visited in the evening, everything was very clean and the area was beautiful. A large number of incredibly beautiful trees and flowers. The lighting and lighting in general were impressive. I advise you to visit. But the toilets are some kind of horror, they really spoil the impression, there are no locks, everything is very broken, dilapidated and dirty.
This well cared Park @ Ta Qali is an awesome place where one can Take relaxed or brisk walks among trees, shrubs, Herbs And flowers in early morning or evening. Superb Views of sunrise make your Walk a beautiful experience that you want to revisit.
When someone says national park, I would imagine something totally different, its a nice place, but its packed with people, especially children. As a visitor, I wouldnt recommend going there. If I were a local with children, it would be probably the best place.

Ta’ Qali Park pleasantly surprised me with its size, well-maintained lawns, and abundance of greenery. It’s a great spot for families with children, picnics, jogging, or just sitting in the shade of the trees.
There’s plenty of parking nearby, and the Malta National Stadium and Crafts Village are within walking distance, so you can easily make a day of it. I recommend visiting early in the morning or in the evening — it’s wonderfully calm.

The Malta Aviation Museum is a paradise for aircraft enthusiasts, situated on the former Royal Air Force station. It features a remarkable collection of aircraft, including a WWII Spitfire Mk IX and a Hawker Hurricane IIa that were salvaged from the sea after 54 years. The museum also showcases other vintage planes such as a Flying Flea, De Havilland Vampire T11, Fiat G91R, and Douglas Dakota DC-3.
I was excited to be there. The place is nice and clean, however small.
3 hangars to gather a good few machines there. Outfits, stories and a room with plastic models.
Toilets at the place and some souvenirs can be gotten as well.

Really amazing place. Planes are beautiful and in really good condition. The vending machines in the canteen area have lots of great options and the gift shop has lots of amazing gifts for aviation lovers like me. There is a huge model collection that's really impressive that has models of planes of many different countries and time periods. 10/10 will definitely visit again!
We had such a lovely time at the Malta Aviation Museum today. There is a lot to see and learn, from historic aircraft to fascinating displays, and one of our highlights was being able to go into the front of a cockpit. What really made the experience even more special was the kindness of the staff. The curator (or maybe employee; we are not quite sure, sorry) was incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly. He even offered us water because of the heat, and we ended up having a really nice little chat. You can truly tell he’s passionate about the museum and what it represents. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Malta and even just a little curious about aviation.
This is a private museum that does a great job of recording and preserving Malta's aviation heritage. Understandably the collection leans towards the second world war but it also features some post-war aircraft - and there are some vehicles and lots of interesting photographs. The exhibits are all clearly labeled and the descriptions contain interesting historical information and anecdotes.
They have many great and historic planes you can look at. Including the history of the general types of airplanes and the specific history of the models on display.
This exhibition is a nice add on after visiting some of the "Malta at war" museums and a must see for all airplane fans.
Excellent place to Visit, just next to the craft village, a nice place to walk around and look at the planes in the hangar's has a spitfire which I believe was flown to Malta for the museum to house.
Set below ancient capital mdina rabat near national football stadium. This gem is well worth a visit. Several hangars with varied aircraft in them from approx 1930 to 70s . Good display and information about 2nd World War battles with luftwaffe.
Love the history of Malta, if you do then you have to visit this museum, watch the video of the ace pilot shooting down so many German aircraft, it had me in tears how such a young man could be so brave.

The Mdina Cathedral Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The Mdina Cathedral Museum is a religious art museum located inside the mediaeval walled city of Mdina, Malta. We went during the week - the weather was fantastic and so the crowds were large. There was a little bit of a wait to get in. The museum is housed within a Baroque building that was built as a Jesuit seminary. The architecture is breathtaking and the collections are stunning. It can be found on the right-hand side of the St. Paul's Cathedral, in Archbishop's Square. We were very glad we went.

Even though we love museums and galleries we’ve found this Cathedral museum surprisingly boring. If not for the fact that the ticket included visits both to the museum and the cathedral we would’ve regretted spending time there. The exhibition seems a bit old and unfortunately did not inspire us during the visit.
A few rooms with intricate interiors were the highlight of our visit.

When you are coming to see the cathedral you buy the ticket here and the museum is included, so why not come in and enjoy some art and history.

Worth a visit!
Very beautiful museum in an authentic building. Easily could spend 3 hours inside admiring all the art which is collected there. If you do not like crowds better organise yourself and visit it 9:30-10:00a.m. There is one amazing picture where you could see how historically beautiful Sliema was before they overbuild it.

Worth the money and time
Nice little museum, but probably not to everyone's taste. There is history on the flora and wildlife of Malta and the geology of the islands. More of a old style museum feel as no interactive displays. Worth a visit if it's your thing. Adult ticket €5, senior ticket €3.50, sorry don't know the child prices.
The museum is okay, but not very informative if you're hoping to actually learn something. There are few explanations, if any. For example, there was a bat on display with a label that simply said “It’s a bat” — no species name or additional facts. On the positive side, they have an impressive collection of birds, seemingly covering almost every species found in Europe. However, once again, there’s little to no information provided about them. Overall, it’s worth a quick visit for the collection, but not if you’re looking for an educational experience.
If you enjoy Victorian out dated style museums then this is for you, it's Display cases are from the 1800's I would, the poor animals on display are in terrible state and out dated in been on display.

The museum has some work to be done, the place is nice but the display could be shown in a more modern and interesting way.
Great price, beautiful pallace, the highlight was definitely the ornithology collection!
The museum is very dated and very much Victorian in style.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and the cost of entry is low.
That said the site offers a collection of rocks/geology for those interested in that subject and a large collection of taxidermy of varying levels of quality.
The birds were plentiful and beautiful but other prices such as the crocodiles left me laughing at the low level of taxidermy and derpy faces.
Is it worth a visit - yes due to it's low cost

Having lunch at The Villa Bologna Restaurant on a Sunday was a real pleasure. The atmosphere felt warm and family-friendly, making it the perfect setting for a relaxed weekend meal. The Villa Bologna Restaurant has a lot to offer when it comes to food – the cotoletta was crispy, tender, and full of flavor, while the Amalfitana pizza was light, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. Sadly, the repeated blackouts in the dining room spoiled what could have been a truly memorable dinner. Starters arrived, all good. Then we waited for at least 30m for the mains. A lasagna was clearly pre frozen and wasnt heated properly. Looked gross and clearly not fresh. Told the server and it was changed to a fresh better one.
Ordered a steak well done it arrived medium rare. Sent back.
We were 4 and all 4 meals arrived at a different time.
Dessert and coffees were on the house as a service recovery - i ordered an early grey tea, they bring an english breakfast tea with no milk lol. Even their "free" items werent correct.
The staff worked very hard. The problem is they are UNDER staffed. Both the servers and clearly there was chaos in their kitchen.
With those prices, we expected alot better. Wont return for sure!
The place looked very nice. But service was abit leeking asked for Aperol spritz waiter said we do not have when it was on the menu. Ac was switched off so got very hot inside. Asked for one of the desserts, we got lemon sorbet instead. Vegetables and potatoes are at extra cost and very expensive. Euro9 for a plate of grilled slices of courgette and aubergine.

Everything surrounding the cafeteria is nice. Kids have the playgrounds and animals. The cafe itself is average. Anything we’ve had so far tasted the same if you get it from regular store. The atmosphere is more towards the cheap and dirty side. But the kids like the playground, so we keep on coming here.
I visited Malta as an exchange student from fall 2021 to February 2022. And for about two first months I regularly visited this cafe.
During this time, I had an extremely positive impression of the cafe. The staff is very friendly, polite and not averse to chatting if they have the time and opportunity. The food is also very, very tasty.
There was one not very pleasant incident with the food, but it was resolved very quickly. So I recommend this place to everyone.

Most amazing Basillica with very friendly and considerate volunteers onsite. The work to keep this basilica in such an excellent condition must require many hours of work. It was simply amazing, spiritually stirtingl and architecturally and artistically amazing. Most highly recommended. Also has small museum onsite but you will need to check with staff what days it is open.
Beautiful church. One of the locals informed me the ceiling was built in 1735, marble imported from Italy and gold threading imported from France. Each church represents that specific community in Malta. It's not central, but great for a raw, local experience.

St Helen's Basilica (Maltese: Il-Bażilika ta' Sant' Elena) is an 18th-century Roman Catholic church situated in Birkirkara, Malta.It is built on the baroque design by Salvu Borg and built by Mason Domenico Cachia.The design was inspired, and is similar, to the Mdina Cathedral by Lorenzo Gafa.It was built to replace the role of the main old Parish Church of St. Mary (still parish church of the area) that was damaged in the 1856 earthquake. It eventually became the Collegiate Church and then a Minor Basilica. The current parish archpriest is Paul Vella.

Very beautiful church in the middle of Birkirkara, and they also have a beautiful museum which has just been refurbished and reopened to the public. Church has free entrance, next the museum requires a ticket for entry. Check museum opening times. This church is worth viewing especially on Wednesday and Friday where there will also be the local street market, so a combination of 2 things in one. You can go there by bus from Valletta.

JJs is a grill in Birkirkara that offers delicious American-style food, particularly their mouthwatering GCC burgers. Although I haven't personally tried it yet, it's been highly recommended and seems like a promising place to visit. Customers have raved about the quality of their meals, including their breakfast menu which features a delightful surprise - the ftira, filled with generous ingredients that make it worth its price.
I'm a repeat customer. Love their burgers, pizza and salads. Very rarely get it wrong and when once they did they apologised and fixed everything without any hassle. Highly recommended.

Just ate a gluten free chicken fillet burger and it was the BEST burger I've eaten on the island EVER!! Pizzas are a bit overpriced for what you get; we had 5 different ones and they were oily and covered with way too much cheese. Had heard some good things about the place but was frankly disappointed.
Smashing service with a smile, the food is absolutely to die for and the amount of foods to choose from is huge.

It’s a meat place and the selection is so wide and varied. And all cuts and various dishes are on display. So you can’t really go wrong. The staff is well trained, polite and so caring. The chef so creative. We suggest coconut ice cream for dessert.

Proper Meat, Properly Cooked
This is our second visit to Dayfresh, the unique (Family run) Butcher Shop, Grill and Bar . It is quite a long bus ride from home otherwise we would visit more often.
Anything in their butchers shop window can be cooked for you right on the spot. And the talented chef’s and wait staff are exceptionally skilled, attentive and friendly. Today we also met two generations of owners, representing three generations of butchers and the experience shows. The youngest generation added the grill about 11 years ago. And I am reasonably confident it is unique in Malta.
So after enjoying some wonderful grilled meats, we bought some fresh rib eye steaks to go home and try an emulate the chef!
Go hungry and stay a good while. It’s worth it

Rented a mountain bike here to cycle over to Mdina and Dingli with my partner. Great bike, simple hardtail but looking smart and well maintained. Great service. We didn't realise that we needed to reserve beforehand so they could get a bike ready (thought they'd all be lined up outside), but they quickly changed some tyres, fit some tubes and got two bikes ready while we waited. Very different experience to the bikes we rented in Gozo. Recommended.

When you walk in to rent a bike and the staff says “you ride a 56” just by looking at you, you know you’re in a good bike store. They have a super friendly, knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Been a customer of the Cyclist since 2013 when I was restoring an old bike and they were very helpful with hints of how to do that, and in finding replacement parts.
The service has remained consistent throughout these years and I returned to buy an e-bike in 2019. I'm nearing 5000 KM on the bike and I have returned to the cyclist a few times for a regular service for it. When I have a question about something that I can maintain myself they are very happy to answer or show a solution without charging me.
In 2022 I also rented an e-bike for a friend who was on holiday here from the cyclist, and there were no issues with that.
I needed a cone wrench to service my hubs and they kindly provided one! Super friendly staff!
This kind of generosity and customer care is rare these days. Definitely a shop that values its customers. Highly recommend!
My boyfriend bought his bike at this shop and he loves it! The guy who assisted us gave him a very good deal on a Specialized Stout bike. I can’t give the full 5 ⭐️ though because he was in a hurry during the transaction, even when we were the only customers in the shop. I expected some quality time explaining the bike etc. because it was still worth 500 euros. But anyway, overall, this is a good shop where you can buy premium bike stuff, and my bf said he would come back for the other gears he needs.
🏆 So happy to came across this bike shop during my stay in Malta. I came to Malta for the race, but suddenly noticed that the axle I had forgotten at home. The Cyclist ‘’rescued’’ me from missing the race and missing whole week of training. As Georgian National MTB Champion, week without training would be disaster.
✅ They not only lent me the axle, also did fitting for my new bike – Scott Spark RC. Words cannot explain how thankful I am for them. All of them are super friendly and Milos – he is the best mechanic, whom you can trust 100%. The shop itself is full of all kind of bikes and gears, everything cyclist needs. The cyclist is the best bike store in Malta and I think not only in Malta. Good luck guys, hope to meet you again.

Hi, the other day I went to get my bike repaired because it had a flat tyre. Although they ended up fixing the tyre, they didn’t even reattach the wheel to the frame properly, so yesterday I went mountain biking with my son and were unable to continue. Please tell your unintelligent employees to start fixing bikes properly.

Being a Christian I really wanted to like this but I didn’t. The movie was lame and the gift shop was only so so. We tried walking around afterwards but there really isn’t anything in the area. So it felt like a wasted cab ride.
I'm sure this would have been nice but it was closed. Shame they didn't put it on the website and I wouldn't have wasted 2 hrs on the bus
The Shipwreck is a lovely short film about St. Paul's encounter with Malta. It's worth the detour even if you're not Christian. The place is quiet a retreat house with full facilities for persons wanting to get away and reflect. The 'cinema' is a big cold room. It was nice to be able to walk right in and see the film by myself without having to wait for a crowd or a special scheduled time. The gift shop on site has a large range of Christian religious items and Maltese souvenirs. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Closed on Sundays. I took a cab here; reached @1pm only to find that its closed. 🤥
The Venue is great. Spacious and impressive. There’s a large gift shop attached. Sadly the film needs updating massively. It’s old fashioned, patchy and not very interesting. There’s a drinks machine but you’re not allowed drinks in the cinema.
The movie 35 min long is fabulous ! A great shop there also.
And a bathroom. And the staff are friendly.
The small girl on Reception with glasses is operates the movie is very sweet.

The self-serviced apartments offered are conveniently located near Birkirkaras renowned attractions, such as Il-Mithna, The Wignacourt Aqueduct, and the impressive Old Railway Station. This historical site was once a Maltese railway station and has been transformed into a museum showcasing the old railway system, trams, and buses. Visitors can admire intricately crafted scale models of antique locomotives used in Malta, including refurbished versions of one particular engine.
A great museum run by enthusiastic volunteers. Visitors are told the history of Malta's railway and tramway with photos, artefacts, models and obviously the restored railway station and the last surviving coach of Malta's railway. The guides are very well prepared. The museum has excellent toilet facilities, suitable also for invalid persons.

Absolutely amazing place to learn beyond just train history of Malta. Lots of volunteers ready to share all their knowledge and stories. Lots of old photos of Malta, models of locomotives, wagons and stations, all with clear descriptions. Functional miniature track models.
Great museum. It was lovely to see the old surviving railway carriage that I had known as a child over 55 years ago, has been so magnificently restored. Keep up the good work. Many thanks to Paul, Timmy and David.
Loved the visit for an open day, really appreciated the love and dedication of the Malta Railway members. They were very helpful to explain every detail about the railway history in Malta. Keep it up.
It's one of the old Maltese railway stations that has been turned into a museum mostly dedicated to the old railway, but also to the old trams and buses.
It features painstakingly made scale models of old locomotives that were used in Malta, including two versions of the same engine which had been refitted.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting the train station in B'Kara, and it was a wonderful experience. The person who gave us the tour was excellent, providing us with detailed explanations that we truly appreciated. My elderly mother especially enjoyed the visit. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you very much!

Tried many of their different buns and sandwiches. All taste great. The herbs focaccia is my favourite together with the obvious Tuna Ftira. The chicken salad and the Lasagne are also great.
If you're looking for a diner like experience with a Maltese flair, look no further. Wide range of options, that goes beyond the usual snacks. Authentic atmosphere, kind staff. I highly recommend their ftiras, sandwiches and pasta dishes. If you find yourself in the vicinity, give it a go. Strictly a lunch place, closes at 2pm.

Kups Malta in Birkirkara is quickly becoming a beloved destination for Korean street food enthusiasts. Guests appreciate the generous portions and welcoming atmosphere created by attentive staff members like Mariana, Bryan, and Steeve.
The restaurant is very roomy, clean and comfortable. We were greeted most friendly by Bryan and Sunny who served us our meal. The food was very tasty as always. We’ve been loyal customers of Kups Sliema for many years, and it was a good experience to visit Kups Birkirkara as well.

Food was good but not exceptional. The problem I had was everything was drowning in sauce and was a bit too sweet for my liking. Otherwise the service was great we had a waiter named Mariana and she was welcoming. The atmosphere is good and the decor is sweet and overall the restaurant is clean.

This is our second time dining here and we absolutely love it! The first time we had the bibimbap — super flavorful and fresh. This time we tried the tteokbokki, and it was amazing! Perfectly spicy, chewy rice cakes, and a really delicious sauce. The portion was generous too. It’s quickly becoming one of our favorite spots for Korean food. Highly recommend! 👌

Had the mixed shish plate, really good value for the amount of food you get. Food was tasty and well cooked and the salads have good taste also. The yoghurt sauce was a little runnier than expected but overall a tasty meal. Service was great, fast and efficient. Nothing bad to be said about this Turkish kebab place.
So many people were recommending the rib-eye here so I went with that. It was a decent tender piece of meat but it was fairly tasteless, I had to add salt and pepper. However it's not the same as cooking them into it.
We also had a mix shish kebab where both were tasteless apart from the smoke flavor.
The bread, rice and the other sides were fine but nothing exceptional. I chose this place because of the rave reviews but it was a bit of a disappointment for the very average prices over here.

Went in on a Wednesday night to watch the Champions League. Lively atmosphere and we were found a place to sit at the bar. Friendly and attentive staff and very reasonably priced.
Free Maltese tapas is provided with drinks which was an unexpected bonus. Makes Charles Bar well worth a visit.
We also ordered nachos and chicken pieces which were delicious and a good portion size.
We didn't try any of the burgers but they looked amazing.
Plenty of TV screens viewable from anywhere in the bar.

Charles Bar in Swatar is such a cozy spot and one of those hidden gems where you instantly feel at home. The owner is truly a gentleman, always welcoming with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that makes your visit memorable. What really stood out is how he went the extra mile and even made us a cocktail of our choice, which was not on the menu, and he did it with such ease and coolness that it made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
It’s a wonderful place to relax over drinks with friends, and the food selection is just as good, with plenty of tasty options to complement your evening. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and friendly, perfect whether you’re looking for a casual night out or simply a cozy corner to unwind. They are usually closed on Mondays, but any other day you can count on them for a lovely and welcoming experience.

A great place for hangout.. the staffs are super cool. They do serve rabbit stew as well. But you need to book an appointment 3 days before. They do serve plenty of snacks when you order drinks. The food and the beverages are great.
Charles bar is amazing, it has a very nice atmosphere and the food is so great. Mark is always there and he’s such a gem!!!! My friends from uni and I come here at least once a week !!!
