Nestled in the charming village of Gharb, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu is a stunning example of Neo-Romantic architecture that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding sea. This revered site has been a pilgrimage destination since 1883 when a local woman reported hearing the voice of the Virgin Mary.
A truly special and peaceful place. The Ta’ Pinu Basilica is not only beautiful from the outside with its stunning architecture, but the inside has a calming, spiritual atmosphere. The story behind it — of a local woman hearing the Virgin Mary’s voice in the 1880s — makes the place feel even more meaningful. There are rooms full of heartfelt messages and thank-yous from people all over the world. If you have time, walk up the nearby hill with the Stations of the Cross — the views are amazing. Definitely worth a visit whether you’re religious or just appreciate history and quiet places.

Beautiful Basilica. Take the time to walk around. Sad to see all of the items in the shrine rooms. Walk up the hill opposite to see marble statues and get a great view if you ignore the crane 😊
Julie F — Google review
Very nice enormous basilica with a touching story emblematic of the history and culture of Malta. Eminently walkable area and along many tour bus routes for a 10-minute photo stop. Highly recommend walking around outside and inside to catch all the gems of this wonderful place!
Danielle O — Google review
This a beautiful Catholic Shrine of Blessed irgin Mary. The story of the church and Shrine is uniquely beautiful. The church has been build out of small Chapel where the picture of Mother Mary of TA' PINU is located. Inside is the gallery with pictures and letters of all miracles and healing that took place as of Mother Mary and Frances. The basilica is very peaceful inside. The church is not open at all times. Modesty is necessary when coming to holy space like Shrine.

Another amazing architectural wonder. Such a scared site and a blessing to experience this powerful space. So cool to check out even though I am not religious but rather spiritual.
Luke L — Google review
A truly breathtaking church in Gozo. The architecture is stunning inside and out, with incredible attention to detail. You can really feel the history and spirituality as soon as you walk in – it has such a peaceful and moving atmosphere. A must-visit if you’re exploring Gozo, whether for faith, history, or just to admire its beauty.
Sofie S — Google review
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu, nestled in the peaceful Gozitan countryside, is undoubtedly an impressive neo-Romanesque structure. I enjoyed visiting the site, and its architectural grandeur, particularly the towering bell tower and the beautiful mosaics outside, certainly make for a visually striking destination. It has a compelling history rooted in local tradition, dating back to a 19th-century peasant who allegedly heard the voice of the Virgin Mary in the original, much smaller chapel, which now sits behind the main altar. While the atmosphere is serene and it holds immense religious importance for the Maltese, beyond the stunning facade and the interesting back story, the visit itself wasn't a supremely unforgettable experience compared to some other world-class pilgrimage sites. Nevertheless, it is a significant cultural and spiritual landmark on the island of Gozo.

Stuning surroundings and architecture, holy place, the murals in front of the Church are amazingly handcrafted. Do not miss this on your trip to Gozo, a definitive must see. 👌👍

Salt Pans are traditional sites for salt production, with geometric patterns of pans near the ocean. In Xwejni, on Gozo's northern coast, ancient techniques are used to harvest artisan salt from these pans. Visitors can purchase this unique salt from nearby shops. On Sicily's west coast near Nubia, travelers can explore the Salt Pans between Trapani and Marsala.
Beautiful view and really not busy when we went to visit- barely any people. Stunning view of the sea, and the salt pans are gorgeous. Had a lovely cocktail nearby.
Done K — Google review
Along Gozo’s rugged northwest coast, the centuries-old salt pans carve a striking geometric pattern into the limestone shoreline. Hand-chiseled by generations of local families, these shallow pools still produce sea salt using traditional methods passed down since the Romans. Visiting at sunrise or sunset offers breathtaking views as the golden light reflects off the crystal-lined pans. Watch as salt harvesters skillfully scrape the mineral-rich crystals—a backbreaking yet cherished craft. The nearby Salt Kitchen shop sells this "white gold" in its purest form, perfect for edible souvenirs. A testament to Gozo’s resilience, the salt pans blend natural beauty with living history. Free to visit, but respect the working areas.

Very nice area to visit and walk around. Beautiful salt pans, easily accessible.
Рахилка С — Google review
So brilliant to see the salt being harvested. Great walking along by the sea. Great for swimming, relaxing and leisurely refreshments.
Liz C — Google review
Beautiful coastal walk along the water, interesting history regarding the salt collection. A nice family sells the salt directly at the location.
Joel B — Google review
As beautiful as the pictures...in Victoria, you can buy Gozo sea salt from here that's several hundred years old! The salt pans are a marvel of nature and located at the end of a pleasant walk or drive from Marsalforn--but I recommend walking for the air.
Danielle O — Google review
You can get here by car. We visited on a Saturday and there was plenty of space to park and then to walk around and explore. This is a free attraction on Gozo. Salt extracted from the pans is available to purchase on site for €6-7.
Melissa H — Google review
Nice bit of coast to see where salt is traditionally still collected over the summer months. Really interesting to see, nice walk along the coastline while you're viewing them. There's a cafe there and public toilets. We went in off season so plenty of places to park, but could see in the summer months that it would be very busy.

Ramla Beach, located on the island of Gozo in Malta, is a stunning reddish-sand beach overlooked by Calypso Cave. Visitors can relax on the beautiful golden sands or explore the remains of a Roman villa nearby. For those looking to explore more of the archipelago, sailing trips are available to visit other islands and snorkeling spots.
The beach was beautiful, filled with vibrant colours such as the red-orange sands and bright blue waters. The sand was so soft. The area seemed to be very well maintained as there was no litter around. The water was cool and it was pleasant to dip my toes in. However, in the water the floor was full of rocks so I would recommend wearing some type of flip flops. This was an amazing place to go to especially at sunset time as the views were amazing and the beach was pretty empty.
Fatima A — Google review
One of the best beaches in Malta and Gozo everall. I visited this beach on a very windy day with big waves and even the red flag raised. Still, some people were swimming. The beach was a bit crowded but very clean, and the sand felt incredibly soft.
Рахилка С — Google review
Beautiful and also imaculately clean beach. We spent only 2 hours here but enjoyed every moment. Two bars near the beach are okay and offer variety of food as well as drinks.
Marko P — Google review
The beach itself is okay, but unfortunately there's a lot of algae and other similar plants. Near the beach, there's a mountain with a cave.
Adam G — Google review
Amazing place and very special. Rough weather days it’s fun to bop around in the surf. Fine weather days it’s perfect for snorkelling in the shallows and a bit further out.
M D — Google review
A very picturesque beach with an unusual sand color, almost like clay. There are umbrellas and sunbeds for €7 each. At the entrance, there is a toilet. You can also find a café to grab a snack or buy water. There are no changing facilities. The entrance to the sea is over rocks, but it’s very shallow and gradual, making it great for snorkeling.
Mary P — Google review
The sand is red-orange in color There are stones on the beach, as well as near the water.Be very careful not to hit yourself. The beach has sun loungers and umbrellas; for two sun loungers and one umbrella you will pay 21€.We didn't like it. It would be better to go to the blue lagoon. The beach is not for everyone.
Ita I — Google review
Ramla Bay truly took our breath away — it’s unlike any other beach we’ve seen in Malta or Gozo. The deep golden-red sand feels soft underfoot, and the wide open space gives it a peaceful, untouched vibe. Surrounded by green hills and natural beauty, it’s the perfect mix of sea and countryside. The beach is family-friendly, with gentle waves and shallow water ideal for kids. There are public toilets, a small café, and sunbed rentals, making it easy to spend hours here comfortably. Whether you’re walking along the sand, enjoying the view from Mixta Cave above, or just relaxing with your feet in the water — Ramla Bay offers a unique, calming experience you won’t forget.

Ġgantija Archaeological Park

Archaeological museum
Historical landmark
Museum
The Ggantija Temples, a UNESCO-listed archaeological site located in the village of Xaghra plateau, are believed to be the oldest freestanding monuments in the world. Dating back to 3600 BCE to 3200 BCE during the Copper Age, these temples predate famous landmarks such as Stonehenge and the Pyramids.
If you are interested in ancient history of humanity or architecture then Ggantija is a perfect place to visit. The shear size of the megalithic stones are a sight to behold and will leave you full of questions. How did they move the huge stones? Why was it built? Who built it? How old really is it? As you enter the site you make your way through the museum first and can read about the myth of it being built by a giant and veiw various artifacts found around the temple. You can also have a guided tour via QR codes at each point of interest. They provide toilets located in the museum and whole site is wheelchair accessible. Also I would recommend that you visit the old windmill a few streets away first. The admission to the windmill comes with a discount for the admission to the temple. Soo if you are in Gozo I would definitely recommend to all history buffs.
Lucid F — Google review
Got there early so could read all exhibits and get around without too many people. Initial building is nice and lots of interesting exhibits that bring the temple to life. Super easy to get around. Really worthwhile visit.
Danny A — Google review
The temple was smaller than expected, so don't have expectations based on the name 😄 The small museum that you enter first is quite interesting, but there were two guided companies at the same time as us and they were loud and took a lot of space, so we had to go back to the museum afterwards to see the rest. If you want to get a feel of the place, set aside time to just be there (and maybe wait for guided tours to move on). If you are lucky and can be in one of the temple areas alone, you can better get a sense of the energy and history of the place. You can easily get through it in less than an hour, but if you have time, just enjoy the surroundings and the magical sensation of a temple older than the pyramids.
Michelle A — Google review
Very interesting megalithic/neolithic site, not a far drive from Victoria. Available drop off with the hop on hop off tour. Entry is €10 per person. A couple of toilets on site near entry and exit. The museum portion is short and sweet but still very interesting with many artifacts from this site and others around Gozo. Some scaffolding still in place supporting the structure but the site is still mostly visible. Well worth a visit.
Joel B — Google review
Oldest free standing manmade structures in the world! A thousand years older than the pyramids of Egypt! Excellent museum. Self guided tour around the walls
Daniel À — Google review
Exceeded our expectations. The entrance looked very modest but the exhibition of very early artefacts was stunningly beautiful and impressive. It's hard to imagine that so much creative and functional workmanship can be achieved without the use of metal implements. Even more surprising and impressive was the construction of the multi-chambered building on the site. Quite how this was achieved in an age of low-tech is a mystery. The staff were polite and very helpful. The gift shop was well stocked with an eclectic mix of quality souvenirs, publications etc and (of course) the usual tasteless crap un the budget cost range. Whilst our visit was overall a positive experience, it was somewhat marred by the large tour parties with loud group leaders. To be avoided! Suggested visit duration - not less than an hour. Highly recommended.

Worth a visit. We hired E bikes to get there from the port, as part of a day tour on or own. About 17 mins. Went in Oct. Still busy but pleasant numbers. Wether temp perfect.

Gozo

Island
Gozo, also known as Ghawdex Awdesch by locals, is a laid-back Mediterranean island that is part of the Maltese archipelago. It is the second largest of the three islands and is just a short ferry ride away from mainland Malta. The island features a diverse landscape with flat-topped hills, rugged cliffs, deep valleys, and beautiful inlets. Gozo embraces rural characteristics and is ideal for fishing and agricultural activities.
Spent a couple of hours visiting whilst on a boat trip from Malta. Gorgeous island with so much history. Definitely worth a visit!
Angela H — Google review
By boat it’s a nice break from the crowds but still a little too crowded. If you’re looking for secluded coves probably need to leave Malta and head to Greece. Be careful in water as day trippers can rent boats.

Ta' Ċenċ Cliffs is a stunning natural attraction on Gozo, perfect for nature lovers and hikers. The sunset views are breathtaking, but it's important to arrive early as access may involve crossing private properties. The cliffs are easily accessible by bus from Victoria/Rabat and offer an easy, flat walk with rocky terrain. While the heights may be intimidating for some, the mesmerizing views make it all worthwhile.
Wonderful spot to watch the sunset. Walk to the cliffs is super easy & flat (rocky, but just watch your footing). I’m not good at all with heights, but you wouldn’t know you’re on top of a cliff until you start getting to the edge - where you can can still stay back and enjoy the views. Entrance is through a road marked private property - about a 20 min walk. When you reach the pathway follow straight ahead, don’t take the one on your left
Samantha C — Google review
With a little hike, you can see such gorgeous view. Pick a less windy day, go to Gozo! Would be nice to watch sunset here as well.
Ziling Z — Google review
Wow! The view is priceless. You can either come from Ta' Ċenċ (10 minutes on foot from the bus stop), or you can take a beautiful 3h hike from Mgarr (which we did and it was the highlight of our stay I Malta). The cliffs are just stunning.
Petr B — Google review

Aurélie D — Google review

Aoileann C — Google review
Difficult to find the way - somehow after the parking lot of the spa hotel just going in the direction to the cliffs
Julia H — Google review
Very nice place if you like nature and hiking. My partner and I witnessed the sunset in November, it was windy but gorgeous. I'm afraid of heights, but I managed to walk fine, but cautiously. Do keep in mind: -if you want to see the sunset, do get there ahead of time!! (as you have might have to cross privately properties) -it might not be easy to get to the cliffs (you might need to cross private property) -if you are afraid of heights, the cliffs and views might be too much/frightening
Marfie — Google review
Absolutely incredible. I would recommend having a taxi bring you hear as it is probably a 15 minutes walk from the closest bus stop before you see any cliffs. The views are amazing I’ve never seen anything like it. A must visit while in Gozo.

Xi Xi is a high-quality Chinese restaurant that serves some of the best cuisine in Malta. The dishes are unique and delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they make sure you have a great dining experience.
Definitely a must for Chinese food lovers. This is not a Mediterranean-style Chinese restaurant, it offers truly authentic Asian flavors. You can really taste the difference!!! The owner is warm and dedicated, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes the whole experience even better. Hats off to all the people that work there. Highly recommended.

Xi Xi located in Xaghra, Gozo two minutes from the public bus stop on Vjal-8 ta' Settembru. When entering it is tastefully decorated in a modern Chinese motif. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our servers were quick to take our order, bring our water and wine with wonderful shrimp crackers and accompaniments. That was the end of the wonderful food. We ordered from the fixed menu with an extra order of grilled dumplings. The fixed menu A was our choice consisting of appetizers BBQ ribs and a potato/chicken patty, and the Guo Tie we ordered extra. The main dishes were lemon chicken and stir fried sliced fish with veggies, and rice with bits of carrots, peas and green beans. With the exception of the rice, every bite was inundated with either MSG or salt. I'm not sure which but it ruined any chance of tasting anything. Add the amount of sugar used on the ribs, chicken, mystery meat Guo Tie, the gelatinous lemon sauce, and you have a recipe for a very unpleasant meal at an upper end cost for Gozo. The have an excellent wine list and nice atmosphere making it a great place to have a bottle of wine,

Qbajjar Restaurant in Gozo is a popular dining spot offering a variety of cuisines. Located in the vibrant Xaghra village square, it provides a glimpse into the local culinary traditions. The restaurant is known for its local lamb dishes and also offers options like whiskey and cigars. With its Mediterranean and European grill offerings, Qbajjar Restaurant is one of the best places to eat in Gozo.
A great restaurant with a wide range of choice whilst still keeping a great quality. The restaurant is very airy (if you are seated in the main restaurant or outside). A great view of the bay. The food includes a wide choice of freshly caught fish (including specials), a wide choice of Pizzas and a good choice of meat dishes. The service is excellent and with a large group they work hard to get the food out at the same time. I definitely recommend them…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently dined at Qbajjar Restaurant in Marsalforn, Gozo, and it was a fantastic experience! The seafood was incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, with the local flavors shining through. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The views of the bay added to the charm of the evening. I highly recommend the grilled octopus and the homemade desserts! Can't wait to return!

We visited this place together with a local who said this place has the best price vs food quality performance on Gozo. I don't know if it is so, but I trust our friend. So I took fish soup, it was tasty, it had fish and rice as main filling plus some other things, a solid 7.5/10 As a starte we also took Mussels and they were really good, nice garlic and vine 9/10. All table took Spaghetti Pescatore as it was suggested to us by our friend and I have to say it was great (I'm not a huge fan of pastas, but this I could eat more) it had rich seafood topping and everything was well made and tasty 9.5/10 And as a dessert I took an apple pie andb my other half took Fondant. Both were ok, well made and balanced with ice-cream. 8/10 What this place lacks is a bit better service. We asked for desserts menu 3 times (to 3 different waiters) until it was finally brought. This place has a nice terrace with view of sea. All in all, I think I would visit this place again if I'm somewhere nearby.

The restaurant is located right by the sea, offering a beautiful view from both the terrace and the outside area. The staff is friendly, and the dishes are served quickly. There’s a wide selection of wines, as well as craft beers. When it comes to the menu, I believe everyone can find something they like. The prices are similar to those in Rabat on Gozo and on Malta itself. The only downside is that when it’s full inside, it gets quite noisy and it can be hard to have a conversation.

This restaurant is near the guest house where we stayed. We went just for convenience but we ended up eating here every day because the food was good. It’s also good value for money as the portions are big. You’d better go there hungry.
J G — Google review
Decent, big portion. Octopus starter is good, tuna salad very good it's fresh. Grilled calamari 10/10, but the disappointment comes from the seafood pasta, prawn, king prawn, shrimps and squid are all not fresh, you can taste it's the frozen ones.
Zeqin L — Google review
We visited Qbajjar in Gozo without a reservation and were seated outside, where we could enjoy the warmth and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the mussels cooked in white wine and despite the sauce being on the salty side, the mussels themselves were absolutely fantastic. So fresh, meaty, and perfectly cooked, hands down the best mussels I had during my entire trip to Malta. Although it was listed as a starter, the portion was incredibly generous and could’ve easily passed for a main. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, and we had no trouble finding a parking space in their car park, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I’d definitely return if I’m ever back in Gozo, just maybe with a side of bread to soak up that salty (but tasty!) sauce. The deserts were nicely presented, and quite delicious.

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Gozo, Ta' Frenċ stands as a testament to the art of restoration and fine dining. This charming farmhouse, brought back to life by visionary Gozitans Ino Attard and Lino Cefai nearly four decades ago, has retained its rustic charm while offering an elegant dining experience. Known for its exquisite Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist, Ta' Frenċ features a menu that highlights locally sourced ingredients crafted into beautifully presented dishes.
After attending two beautiful weddings with amazing food at Ta' Frenc, it was time to dine in. The experience was amazing from start to finish, nothing was rushed and all the staff were extremely attentive. The 'Prawn Pasta Flambé' was carefully cooked in front of us, using freshly made pasta. It was one of the best pasta dishes we've had in a while. Our mains were also delicious, the Sirloin was cooked to perfection with a beautiful deep red colour. The Chicken Breast was beautifully made and the chicken wing was absolutely divine. Dining out has become very rushed and Ta' Frenc was a breath of fresh air!

Me and my partner had a wonderful time here, we were well looked after and the food was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the flambé crepes, I would particularly recommend that. However, the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the bathroom lets it down. It doesn’t seem to fit the restaurant, being that it looks very old or hasn’t been renovated in a while and the stall locks are VERY stiff, I felt like I would be locked in at one point. Overall, we would really would love to come here again, just that their bathroom lets the experience down for me a little bit…

Dear Ta’ Frenc Team, this was truly one of the most wonderful dining experiences we have ever had. First of all, your restaurant is beautifully and harmoniously designed. The service was exceptionally attentive. We only mentioned once that my wife is pregnant, and from that moment on, every course was thoughtfully adapted — from the sauces to the meat and beyond. The food was among the best I have ever tasted in my life — an absolute delight for the palate. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience.
Benedikt C — Google review
Great food (especially the little complementary starters). The bread selection is also amazing. Service is 10/10. The playlist is a bit « cheap » and redundant, the place is so special it deserves a better playlist that doesn’t feel like a waiting room.
Fleur M — Google review
Amazing place! We had the tasting menu and it was simply divine. My wife was pregnant, and they were attentive and catered to her needs by going above and beyond. They had a great selection of drinks. Cocktails were delicious and the wine pairings were on point and complemented the dishes. All the staff were very friendly and generous. Best resteraunt on Gozo hands down. Don't miss it.

We appreciated the professional service and the kindness of the waiters as well as the beautiful location. But nevertheless - concerning the food health standards, every restaurant, even more so a Michelin awarded restaurant should follow them stringently. My girlfriend got such bad food poisoning during the night that she is still unable to eat properly after four days. It’s put an unfortunate change on our holiday momentum. It’s even further souring to recall that we paid €225 for this experience. That’s some expensive vomit.

Wonderful diner, left fat as a cat. The steak was delicious and my wife eat most of mine! Order two! Great wine selection and had an extensive kids pairing and menu so our little ones were not left out of the gourmet meal. Lovely waiter. Looking forward to coming back. Decor was so nice locates on beautiful grounds and garden.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Ramla Bay, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Ta’ Kola Windmill. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Ramla Bay is a stunning sandy beach located on the east side of Gozo, Malta. Known for its large expanse of red sand, it is often considered one of the best beaches in the area. During summer, it can get quite crowded due to its popularity. The warm and clear waters of the Mediterranean make it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing. Visitors can easily access the beach by local transit or on foot, enjoying breathtaking views along the way.
Beautiful beach with orange sand. The beach is not completely crowded, but be prepared to walk for a while to find a spot. Lifeguards are present at the beach. There is a possibility to hike up the cliffs beside the beach in order to reach a cave. This journey gives a spectacular view of the whole Ramla Bay. Just come prepared with proper footwear for the journey.
Patrick S — Google review
It's a smallish beach split into 2. But it is sand and easy to walk into the sea which was amazing. Warm and exciting waves. There's a couple of restaurants and public toilets and a shower. The bus was convenient but popular. I would love to come back.
Louise L — Google review
As beaches go, this was one of the prettiest ones.I have seen here. The day that we were there. The wind was so violent that there was red flags flying. However a lot of people were in the ocean they do have lifeguards watching over which obviously ignored the red flags. The sand is a deep caramel color it looks like crushed up biscuff cookies!!! The wonderful thing is that it has facilities bathrooms and showers and a small restaurant which we did not try. There is a company of men that put up lounge chairs and umbrellas add a cost. Write outside of the beach. We also found a very\nIndustrious man that obviously used his land for a parking for a fee of two euros. There are also several outlets with bathing suits and floaties and things like that if you forgot yours. The road to get there was a little bit harrowing for those of us that don't drive On the left hand of the road because the streets are very narrow and they are two way streets!!! Put all in all a very nice experience. HowEver there are a lot of rocks in the sand so it's hard to figure out where to put your towel if you decide not to get one of the deck chairs!
Noelle M — Google review
Beautiful beach, unbelievable sea. Umbrella and sunbed rental €7 each, all day rates only. See it from Mixta Cave to appreciate it fully.
Lisa K — Google review
This was a truly delightful spot to spend a pleasant afternoon, where you could fully enjoy the entire ocean and the beach. The cave itself was an incredibly adventurous and truly unique natural wonder that you simply don't usually encounter at your typical beach. We are genuinely grateful that we took the time to go take a look up there and spend time at the beach.
Andrew R — Google review
A beautiful sandy beach. Definitely worth the effort to get there. Umbrellas and chairs for rent. Public showers and bathrooms are available.
Mark R — Google review
Lovely place to swim. The watter is shallow for maybe 10 metres, but always pay attention. Can be crowded sometimes and the sunbeds and umbrellas are going for around 7 euro each.

Beautiful sandy beach iconic.....too many rocks and stones in sea - surely can be removed to enjoy it better. Now with showers and good public toilets. Good kiosks too

Calypso Cave, a site believed to be the one mentioned in Homer's Odyssey, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and Ramla Bay. Visitors can also explore the Ta' Kola Windmill, an 18th-century windmill showcasing traditional Maltese technology. Xaghra, where the cave is located, is rich in history with attractions like the ancient Ggantija Temples. The area also boasts beautiful beaches and delicious local cuisine.
Nice place with great view of Ramla Bay. You can park for free, as everywhere in Gozo, and it's only a two minute walk to the viewpoint. Unfortunately the cave itself is closed, due to damages. It's also a great place to check if Ramla Beach is too crowded 😂🙂 If you like a little hike, you can walk down to the beach from here. The landscape and the valley are beautiful.
De K — Google review
Nice view but... ...the caves across the valley are much more picturesque (and free as well). The Calypso Caves are closed for entering and even the premium viewing deck was closed when I visited. Don't get me wrong, it is nice (and free) but save yourself some time and effort and go across the valley for a better view from caves that you can enter.
Ken W — Google review
The view is nice but there are better looking places just around the corner. The cave itself is closed as far as I can tell, it's the view from above

Went to Calypso Cave a few weeks ago but it was closed. Looks like it's become unsafe so is fenced off now. Its a shame, I went to see it about 14 years ago and it was all open. Great views of Ramla Beach from up there though. There is a Cave the other side of Ramla you can still get to.

Xaghra Parish Church is a breathtaking gem located on the island of Gozo, Malta. Its grand exterior, adorned with impressive pillars and statues, sets the stage for an equally stunning interior filled with intricate paintings, marble details, and vibrant stained glass. Visitors often find themselves captivated by its beauty during moments of reflection or while attending services like Sunday Mass. The church's ornate design creates a prayerful atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.
Beautiful church situated in a small square in the center of the town. Worth a visit, especially during Christmas time. We had a great opportunity to observe these amazing models representing the birth of Christ.

Monika M — Google review
This was a beautiful church - the architecture was fantastic! I have more photos and will add when I locate them. I have a 'thing' about churches - especially when in another country, so this was a marvelous one to see. It was hard to think that the first Xaghra church was built in the 13th century!

Amazing church from the outside and breathtaking inside. A must visit when on Gozo as a tourist and such a great square around it with plenty of bars and restaurants to sit and admire it too.
Mark H — Google review
Yes, beautiful church but what it made it unique for us is the fact that while visiting it with a 1 year old and 3 years old, a man came to talk to us and welcomed us. We ended up talking for around 30 mins about Malta and Gozo in general, he was so friendly and caring. He was the priest! I have never encountered a catholic priest so approachable. His heart shows the real mission of the church. Thank you Father Joseph!

Xaghra Parish Church The Xaghra Parish Church, Marija Bambina Basilica, became a parish in the mid-17th century. The first church was built in 1688, and the church you see today laid its first stone in 1815. There are a number of priceless works of art inside the building, but the main feature is the statue of the Virgin Mary, which was brought from Marsielle, France, in the 1700s. The altarpiece was made by Carlo Zimech and brought over from Senglea, Malta in the mid-1700s. It is a stunning marble piece as is all the work in the interior of this Basilica. The church is located in Xaghra’s main square.

Ta’ Kola Windmill, located near the Ggantija Temples, is a well-preserved traditional windmill dating back to the 1700s. Once used for grinding grain into flour, it now serves as a museum showcasing the miller's workshop and living quarters. Visitors can explore recreated furniture and gain insight into past village lifestyles. The windmill offers a glimpse into Malta's history and culture, making it a must-see attraction for those interested in the island's heritage.
Such a cool place to visit. Definitely worth a visit and free entry with your ticket from the ruins.

Visited because it was included with the Ġgantija Archaeological Park ticket, so I mean why not. A cute windmill to visit, kind workers, clean bathroom, organized and clean site. Tight at the top with others but a great conversation starter for sure 😆. Overall pretty good
Millie M — Google review
If you’ve never been inside a windmill before, this is definitely worth a visit. It’s a unique experience where you can also read a lot about Malta’s history and how important bread was in daily life.
Рахилка С — Google review
Entry to the museum is €10 on a combined ticket with the nearby Ggantija Archeological park (the latter makes is worthwhile) or €13 as part of a combined ticket that includes 5 Citadella museums in Victoria (Citadella visitor centre), museum of archaeology, old prison, Gran Castillo historic house, and nature museum) as well as the Ggantija Archeological park and Ta Kola windmill. The windmill makes for an enjoyable 15 minute visit, but I wouldn't trek out to Ggantija just to see it. It is also wholly unsuitable for people who cannot handle lots of twisting stairs (you can see it from the outside though). The windmill is prettier on the outside than the inside, so you may not wish to actually pay for entry of you don't have a ticket for the nearby Archeological park.
Tom H — Google review
We only visited because entry was included in the Ggantija ticket, but I'm very glad we did. A beautiful old windmill that a local man kept working until he died in the 1980s. He was a blacksmith too, and seemed to have made all his own tools. It was great to be able to walk to the very top and see the shaft and gears close up, and marvel at the construction from around 270 years ago. If you're visiting Ggantija it's well worth the 2-minute walk to visit.
Richard L — Google review
We bought the combo ticket which included entry to the temples. There was no waiting time, the staff were friendly, and the windmill was quaint and well-preserved.
David A — Google review

Al Sale Restaurant in Xaghra, Gozo is a top dining spot known for its local lamb dishes and an impressive selection of whiskey and cigars. This Mediterranean seafood restaurant offers a menu filled with fresh Italian dishes like pasta and pizza, as well as delectable seafood options. With its Sichuan-style Chinese cuisine, Al Sale Restaurant stands out among the best restaurants in Xaghra.
We had dinner here and honestly, it was such a great experience. The sunset reflecting off the church nearby made the whole setting feel kind of magical. We started with the caviar and tuna tartare, which were both super tasty, and then had the daily special beef for the main. It was insanely good. The staff were really friendly and always around when we needed something, without hovering. We sat outside and it was really comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place
Lina — Google review
To start with this restaurant really does deserve its 2 year Michelin guide rating. My wife and our close friend dined here tonight and I cannot praise it enough. The ambiance, the decor, the staff and of course the amazing food. We were pleasantly greeted and sat on our arrival after booking an outside table however the wind made that difficult but it was not a problem and they promptly found us a table inside. We started with Oysters which were fresh and tasty. The three of us then opted for the Scallop Gratin which while cooked to perfection the way they are served in their shell with the amazing cheese gratin, the way they are balanced on a plate of pebbles does make them a bit difficult to get the best. For main my wife had the delicious grilled octopus which was cooked so perfectly it was a joy to eat. My friend and I shared the fish of the day which was Sea bass or Rock fish and we opted for the Rock fish which was served to us by the waiter perfectly and not a bone to be found. A thoroughly amazing experience which we shall repeat again and again. The wine list was also a great selection of world and local wines. Highly recommended.

I was recommended this place by Leona from Taste of Gozo, and I'm so glad I was. The food is outstanding, with everything cooked to order making for a lovely leisurely evening. None of the hurried 'we need your table back in 90 minutes' stuff here. We started with a tuna tartare and scallops au gratin, followed by a salt baked sea bass (for 2) and for dessert an elderflower parfait and a honey and vanilla panna cotta, all washed down with a lovely Maltese white. I've fallen in love with Gozo and Al Sale is one of the reasons why.
Mark A — Google review
Objectively one of the best restaurants on the island, the quality of the food they use and the dedication in cooking and plating it from the chef really makes you feel the passion behind all of it. The personnel is well qualified and the location is well though. I personally absolutely loved it, I got the baked brie as a starter that surprised me and the Uruguayan striplon (medium rare) as a main, accompanied by a glass of Italian red wine, advised by one of the servers and it was a perfect match. Very well done to all and 110% would recommend. Would have taken more pics but I was too concentrated on eating the food ✨

We went there during our holidays in Gozo because it was recommended by Michelin and… really not disappointed ! The service was very pleasant and I absolutely recommend the Crudo Misto ! The fresh raw fish was really amazing, the seasoning of every fish was just perfect, really subtle which keeps the fresh taste of the fish, we really enjoyed every part of it ! Special mention for the ✨lampuki tartare✨ that was insane. The cocktails are good, the wine too. As tourists, we were lucky to get there during a village festivity « Festa » which magnifies the charm of the dinner ! Thank you to the team and congrats to the chief ! A night we won’t forget for sure :)

Excellent restaurant in the main square of Xaghra. Service and food are impeccable. Their specialty is fish cooked under salt, which is a must try, even if it may take a while to arrive at the table. Prices are very reasonable given the quality of the experience and food. You are going to spend about 50 Euros for a shared appetizer, a main dish, one glass of wine and a shared dessert. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious food. The staff are amazing and it is a lovely family run business with lots of history (which you can read about on the menu). Me and my family came here twice over our holiday and it was by far our favourite place to eat. I had the Sesame Crusted Salmon with honey and lemon and it was incredible. The food and the service is a highlight of this place. Food is delicious and the waiters are excellent. Very kind. The owner was also present helping around and making sure we were ok. It takes a bit of time to receive mains after starters but we didn’t mind at all since we were occupied talking. The only small inconvenience is that the restaurant is located near the road that is little busy. All in all REALLY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE! Worth it!😋

Absolutely amazing. As a Maltese i don't really look to eat traditional Maltese food but as soon as i saw the menu i wanted to order everything. I ended up taking the rabbit ravioli and the horse meat and i was amazed the food was spectacular not even from my grandma did i ever taste such delicious traditional Maltese food. If you are in gozo its a must to go there and try it for yourself. Staff are super helpful and friendly and happy to help you. I also got a chance to meet the owner and he is super humble and goes out of the way to give you the best experience whilst dining. I only managed to take a picture of what my fiance ate (suckling pork) as I had already started eating (it was too tempting 😂) Very well done to all the staff and to the owner you have an amazing restaurant and i will be back every time im in gozo

Ta’ Cenc il-Kantra Put this restaurant on your ‘must-go’ list when you come to Gozo. It specializes in just-caught Mediterranean fish and Maltese and Gozitan traditional cuisine. This is a restaurant that you want to be in no hurry after you arrive. The views are mesmerizing. Located on a cliff between two inlets of water cut by earthquakes thousands of years ago. The beauty is equally matched by the fabulous food. Ask to see the fish from the morning's catch. Depending on the season, you can count on Lampuki. ( called Mahi-Mahi or Dolphin fish in other parts of the world), Salmon, Octopus, Sea Bass, and Snapper, just to name a few. Fresh pasta is available as well as Vegan selections. If you are a beef lover, there is a mouth-watering steak to satisfy your hunger. Il-Kantra’s wine list will please a variety of tastes as well as your budget. After your meal, you can relax on a sunbed with an umbrella down below to soak-up some sun and the outstanding views of the sea and the islands of Comino and Malta. Located on the outskirts of the village of Sannat you will need a car and GPS to find your way there. We take a Bolt to be sure we arrive there and back home safely because we enjoy the wine list.

Beautiful place great service, excellent food. We walked here from the top of Sannatt.

We arrived at 18:15 with the idea of having pre-drinks and enjoying scenery. Ordered Negronis and apparently they were out of the usual gin. When our drinks arrived, they told us that those will be our last Negronis as they run out of gin to make it. We were planning to have wine after that anyway. We ordered a bottle of Primitivo di Manduria, but it came like 30 minutes after we ordered. Ordered antipasti, came out 30 minutes after. We ordered 2 al pascatore, came like an hour later. We already drank almost half of the wine bottle by 20:00 and our food arrived at 20:30. The pasta were tasty but too salty for us. This restaurant by the cliff was managed by Hotel Ta’ Cenc Resort and Spa, which is a 5-star hotel, so our expectation was high. They served us bread in a paper bag (not a plate or bread basket) in the middle of our mains so we wouldn’t be able to enjoy them. They only have one waiter and the other staff refused to take orders. The waiter also gave a wrong table for another customers, so they asked them to move to another table. This is poor service. They didn’t clean the table immediately. They argued with each other (bus boy and waiter) in public so we can hear what they’re talking about. That is poor service. It doesn’t matter if you serve great food but with bad services, it ruined everything.

What a surprise! First the restaurant in the hotel is good, but this one, well, it was better. You have the view, you can swim and the portions are just... Huge! ( so be carful, ask for less side if you are not a glouton like me)

Beautiful views, delicious food and amazing wine, paired with stellar service and the cutest table companions! It’s a pity that this place won’t be open again until April, but we will be waiting to return, come next year! Thank you for a lovely Saturday lunch 😊

Comino, a limestone islet and bird sanctuary, is home to the famous Blue Lagoon bay, a 17th-century tower, and chapel. A full-day cruise to Comino Island offers a Mediterranean paradise experience with sunbathing, swimming in azure waters, and enjoying the magical Maltese coastline. The journey includes passing Gozo island for stunning views before reaching Comino Island.
Must see if you’re heading to Malta! Take Your hiking boots and go to explore this island! Was there in march, would like to say in tourist high season time this place will be crowded-so buy ferry tickets online and skip all those waiting lines for tickets selling points.

It's a nice island to visit, full of nature and old buildings, blue lagoon is always very busy but go beyond that and walk around the island for a bit. You get nice panoramic views of the surrounding islands. Great island if you like hiking!
Wezelmans — Google review
The best part of my trip, loved the views and color of the sea. I’ll definitely revisit when I’m in Malta, you can easily spend a few hours here.
Lolita L — Google review
A charming island to explore. The Blue Lagoon can be busy but beyond it lie quiet trails and stunning island views. Ideal for nature lovers and hikers.
Sana H — Google review
I was looking forward to escape the hassle of Malta traffic and crowded sights, however, even during the week in October it is a nightmare. Maybe the lagoon is nice And blue, however the constant humming of generators and ferry boats make it hard to see it as the idyllic spot as painted by the reviews I read. Even though there apparently is a restriction to the number of people allowed to enter the island it felt like entering a beehive. The current in the lagoon was very strong so you can bathe, but you can't swim. All the foodstalls have their Ghettoblasters on and you just have to quickly escape and walk to the other side of the island which at the weekend apparently is just as crowded. Maybe take a boat, cruise through, but there are way nicer spots to pass a couple of hours at a beach.

Its a lovely little island which is very crowded at the ferry port but quiet elsewhere. The only place I've visited thst has a bin dedicated to used pineapples!

Gozo Sightseeing hop on hop off bus stip

The Gozo Sightseeing hop on hop off bus trip is a fantastic way to explore the rich history and stunning attractions of the island. With stops at key destinations like Mgarr, Victoria (Rabat), and Marsalforn, visitors have the opportunity to delve into Gozo's ancient past and enjoy its natural beauty. The tour offers flexibility, allowing travelers to disembark at various points of interest for further exploration. Additionally, multilingual commentary ensures that everyone can fully appreciate the experience.
I would say that this tour is a great way to see most of the attractions and popular destinations in Gozo, with some chances to hop off the bus to explore further. I would say however, make sure to go early enough to have more opportunities to explore different areas, due to the buses stopping by 4. I would definitely say to stop by Azure Window to watch the sunset! Definitely worth it! 🤩
ItsJoelAnthxny — Google review
The experience needs to restructured: there definitely can be more orientation, a way to track buses, and can be overall less stressful. Some of the bus drivers were kind but others weren’t. Most did not have an accurate information of how long you would need to see places. Tops you were spending 10 minutes in each location which is unreasonable. Once you get a hang of the bus schedule and choose your top 4 - 5 you want to see it will be much more manageable. Def would say was a great way to see the island in a short amount of time but you’ll def be tired after trying to do mental work of catching the bus.
M- T — Google review
It was very disappointing to say the least. I wish I had read the reviews on google or Trip Advisor! The tour was late, and they did not give u more time at the stops. The guide gave instructions but never repeated anything which was very frustrating for other passengers on the boat needless to say that the bus drivers were busier in their phones instead of being attentive to the passengers! There was practically no time to grab anything to eat all so we stepped all the stops and went back to the ferry station as we were afraid we may miss the ferry. On the buss they gave out headsets that did not work for most of the passengers. We thought it was only us but we realized other people had the same issue. It would have been nice to hear the talk about the area but that was another fail! While on the rooftop of the bus we hardly were able to take any pictures because of how limited the view was and how fast the bus was going! And when it was slowed it was because of the traffic that made the tour so late for every stop!! We did it even complain to the concierge person who sold us the tickets because we did not feel it was fair to her. We did not complain to the staff on the boat or the guide because at that point we felt that the entire logistics have to change to make the tour worthwhile your money! 50.00 Euros per person!! I would say it was not all fail but most of it was at least for us.
Kay K — Google review
Just got of this and we were disappointed. Not really hop on and off as not enough time to do this. If you wanted to stop at a few places you need to start quite early anything later than 11am and you are really just stopping once or twice at the most. We decided to only do a couple of stops and the last one we choose he didn’t stop at and we didn’t know he wasn’t going to stop. The driver went straight on to the harbour stop. We had hoped to stop in Xeekija Square for something to eat and drink. We asked why it didn’t stop and were told it is closed for building work, but nobody had said anything about this at any point. Also a group of ladies had just been sold tickets and it was 4pm they asked us if it was worth it and I had to be truthful and say it would be too late. To hop on and off as and it would just be a 2 1/2hour bus trip around the island.
Helen E — Google review
Ordered online for €30 including the ferry. Only saw the 1 star reviews afterwards. The buses used are old London buses that have been converted it seems! By no means is this a luxury tour. The audio guide worked on some buses but not others. I went on the first bus of the day and the rest were on time and plenty of buses coming and going on route. They missed the salt pans today. It’s a good opportunity to take photos of the scenery if you get a chance to sit upstairs. I didn’t follow the route all the way and got on and off at different points and all were pretty much bang on time. Just wanted to leave this review as I think it’s probably just about worth the €15 you pay online. In person I think it costs more and not worth it. Staff were polite and a guy at Victoria told us which one to get on. I think they could improve signage for stops though seeing they run this every day. Weighing up I think 3 stars for this, maybe I was just lucky with the service today. Would be better if more clearer signs, newer more comfortable buses, audio that worked. Best go on the first bus of the day to avoid crowds and disappointment!

We used the green hop on bus on our visit to Gozo today. We were charged 30 euros for two tickets, bartered down from 50 euros. A good way to see all the Island but there was no air conditioning on the bus and it was 34 degrees today. Spending over two hours on this bus was unbearable. The headphones didn't work and no one explains how to use them. Communication poor, you are not given an idea how long the bus will stay at each stop. We therefore decided not to get off. I would say the tour needs to be a lot shorter, maybe an hour. A lot of the stops didn't make a lot of sense as there was nothing there! Would have enjoyed it more if the bus had air conditioning.
Donna M — Google review
It wasn't something we had in mind to do but on arriving at Cirkewwa to catch the ferry across to Gozo we were approached by someone who we initially thought worked for the ferries and under the pretense of helping us with the itineraries encouraged us to buy tickets for sightseeing bus tour in Gozo. Personally, this did not bother us, on the contrary, we found it helpful. There are several companies with hop on hop off buses on the island. I don't think this particular one is the best or with the best buses. In general the buses were not accurate at the stops based on the schedules and also when you arrived at the stop you found that the last schedules had been canceled contrary to what was written in the brochure they gave you. Generally speaking it's a good solution, especially if you ask for a discount on the price they're likely to accept, but keep in mind that the routes don't run until very late so you might have to take a taxi back to the port.

On September the 30th we decided to tour Gozo with the green buses. Big mistake! We paid 64 euros for 2 adults, all transportation expenses included. Transfer from Sliema to Cirkewwa harbor, ferry to Gozo, Hop on – hop off bus in Gozo island, and again ferry from Gozo to Cirkewwa harbor, and finally bus to Sliema. +64.00€ No1--They claim there is a stop to Mixta Cave. No there isn’t! They left us in the middle of nowhere, on a highway, and told us we had to walk there ourselves. We walked for approximately 2Km, no signs, no labels. We used our GPS. 3Km walk to take the bus from the next bus stop in Ramla. We lost valuable time there. No2 – The tour provides 13 stops which is impossible to visit. We chose only 3 and still we were anxious about the time. It felt like a race. No3 – They claim all the transportation is included. They are lying! At the return ferry the hardour employees asked us to pay for the ferry tickets, even though on our way to Gozo we just showed our green ticket and we got on the ferry. +9.30€ No4 – The last transportation bus from Cirkewwa harbor to Sliema where our hotel was, left at 6:00pm. We were at the harbor at 5:57pm and searching around for the bus. We didn’t know which one it was. I called the company office at 5:58pm really stressed. I asked for help, I said I was already there and asked to tell the bus driver not to leave without us. The 2 employees I talked on the phone were unable to give me directions and to help me. They don’t know their job, they are ignorant. The overall? We lost the bus! I cried my eyes out and we finally took the public transportation. We returned to our hotel at 8:30pm tired and pissed. +2.40€ This experience ruined our day. Total amount 75.70€ for a failure. DON’T DO IT.

Ninu's Cave is a natural underground wonder located in the northeastern part of Gozo, near Victoria. It is famous for its stunning stalagmites and stalactites formed by rainwater filtration through limestone over thousands of years. The cave is situated near other attractions like Xerris Grotto and Calypso's Cave, which overlooks Ramla Beach. Visitors can easily reach Ninu's Cave from the Gozo Ferry Terminal via bus route 307 from Victoria.
Not impressive as a cave if you've been in one before, but impressive because of it's placement and history. We thought it was a scam when we saw the sign on a door in a building not far from the town square. Luckily we were spotted before we could turn around and leave, so we ended up having a lovely experience. We were shown down in the basement by the wife of the man whose great grandfather discovered the cave while digging for a well and then left it for people to enjoy. It had a certain magical atmosphere to step into a cave with stalagmites and stalactites below an apartment building. And the lady was a gem of information about culture and Gozo heritage. There's only room for a few people down there at a time and you only stay at the entrance of the cave, but you shouldn't miss out if you're in Xaghra. It's only a short walk from the Ggantija temple. You pay by donation so bring cash. They deserve it for sharing this experience with the public 😊

Nice ancient cave discovered by the owner of the house when he was digging and searching for water. Now his granddaughter is taking care of his legacy. Cheap access, only four euros per person, and if you like archeology you must visit this sight.

Not quite what I expected but still nice once you're in there. You have to go down a small passageway, ring a doorbell and a little old lady will let you in. It's just a room beneath a house where there's only enough room for about 4/5 people to stand.
Sean M — Google review
This is a free visit cave. Thanks to the lady, who gave me all details on how this cave was founded by her grandfather 130 years ago. This is a naturally found & well preserved cave. Only this disappointed me was, it's a very small cave of maybe 5000sqmeter approx. Also there are very limited public transits in that area.

I really couldn’t believe it. It is in a sweet lady’s house. She is amazing and has a lot go tell about the cave. The entrance fee is a donation of your choice to charity. Amazing and spontaneous interaction

Lovely cave in the basement of someone’s home!! When I arrived there was no one there but a bell to ring, and a lady came from next door and gave a me a tour and the history of her family. 2€ donation but totally worth it.

A beautiful cave located under a family house. The guide has a beautiful story about how the cave was found by her great grandfather. The cave is also free which was nice. As a whole experience it was very nice and personal. Really recommend to go if you are around this area.

Totally mind blowing that Guzepp Rapa discovered this in 1888 when digging for a water well to build his house. Fantastic that his grand-daughter (an elderly lady) is still showing people round and sharing her family story.

Xerri's Grotto is a natural underground wonder located in the northeastern part of Gozo, near the capital Victoria. It features stunning stalagmites and stalactites formed over thousands of years by rainwater filtering through limestone. The cave was discovered in 1924 when a well was being dug, and now visitors can explore it via a spiral staircase illuminated by electric lights.
Very neat little attraction you would not expect in the center of a town. The story goes the man's grandfather was digging down to search for water and came across this cave. The stairs descend about 25 ish feet into the ground, and one thing that shocked me was how warm it was. Usually, caves in the ground are 70 degrees F, but this was closer to 80 or 85 degrees. Entry was only 3 euro per person and worth it for a quick stop.

Not very big, but worth a visit if you're nearby. The story - finding a cave while digging a well, and the spending years to dig it out - is fascinating. We were given a tour by the great-great-great-great-grandson 🙂

Pretty incredible little stop in the city, the two granddaughters of the man who discovered the cavern face a very good guided tour. Would recommend if you’re trying to get out of the heat for a bit.

Well worth a visit and very beautiful to see. The tour was great and very interesting. We were shown round by a little old Maltese lady who was the granddaughter of the man who discovered it while digging it out for a well. She told stories and the names of different stalactites and rock formations that have been passed down through generations. The tour lasted about 30 minutes and has no set price, all she asked is for a small donation minimum of 3 euros. But feel free to donate more as it's well worth it.

Lovely little grotto underneath the houses. Lots of other posts with info and I wouldn’t want to take away from the hosts presentation as we were shown around by a great, great (not sure how many greats) granddaughter and younger sister (?) of the man that first dug in to the grotto. Very sweet and worth a quick visit.

One of the most unique experiences in Gozo. The cave is 8 meters below the ground, and the tour is led by a descendant of the man who discovered it, which makes it even more special. She explains things really well.

What an amazing place, and even more surprised by its location. We have never visited a cave that is literally under a huge house. 101 years ago, a man was looking for water, dug a well, and found this small but amazing cave. We highly recommend it. The entrance fee is symbolic 3eur per person, but since the service is with a guide, it is really worth it. Highly recommended 10/10

Xerri's Grotto was discovered by this 79 year old lady's husband's grand father in 1920s and after digging and excavation, opened up after 2nd world war. What a hidden gem , going down 34 steps or 8 meters under ground, they have another well which is another 9 m deep and still being used .

Even though the wineyard is being renovated and everything happens in a small shop, the food was great (we loved the tomato paste and olive oil) and the tasting of their wines is free. Also the hostess is an interesting and funny woman that made the whole experience really enjoyable. High value products for the price. Highly recommended

This may be the most hidden of Gozo’s many gems. An incomparable experience of authentic Gozitan wine, food, history, and culture was had here. My wife and I were offered immeasurable hospitality and generosity as we were treated to Ħobż biż-żejt (bread with sweet tomato paste and olive oil), a wide variety of locally-produced red and white wine, Gozitan cheese, and gluten free sweets (my wife is celiac). As lovers of wine, we can say that this multi-generational family of grape-growers and wine-makers is producing some of the finest wine at the best prices on Gozo. Of equal quality is their homemade tomato pastes, jellies and jams, and sweet treats. Do not pass by their unassuming store front—there is excellence within.

Such a charming little store with fresh local produce, preserves, liqueur, wine, cheeses and more. Definitely go here if you’re around the area - the lady in the shop is so lovely and offered us a taste of her beautiful wines and fruit liqueurs, which were so unique and flavoursome. Go here while visiting Gozo!

We came on a Saturday afternoon, visited the farm and listened to Joseph share about the family history and experiences of running the Ta Mena Estate. It's evident that it's a hard business to run, especially with the high standards of organic production that they have. The wines and antipasti were delicious, especially the Rosé and the Gabillott (red) wines as well as the tomato paste! All around a great experience and excellent value for money!

The estate is a bit different from the winery. As of 8/31/24, the estate is undergoing renovation. However, there is a small shack by the estate entrance where you can try the wines made here along with a lot of tomatoes, paste, and other items. The hostess was very nice and let you try the wines at your own pace.

Mġarr ix-Xini is a secluded pebble beach nestled in a rocky cove, known for its popularity among scuba divers and swimmers. It gained fame as the filming location for the movie 'By The Sea,' starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Visitors recommend arriving early to avoid crowds, especially on weekends when tourist vans and diving groups flock to the area. Accessing the beach can be challenging due to narrow, steep roads with limited parking.
One of our favourite spots on the island. Far quieter than other more popular areas but was far prettier. Beautiful water, a couple of bars (food was cheap too), chance to take kayak/peddleboat out and some great snorkeling. Spent around 3 hours chilling, swimming and drinking. Very steep hill to get in and out, some cars were struggling (just be aware).

Great beach for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving. In adverse weather conditions such as strong westerly winds can be one of only a few beaches that are safe to use. Great seaside Restaurant on the sea front.

Lovely place to swim if you have the rubber shoes( bottom is rocky), and come by motorcycle/ bicycle. Parking is an issue here, not much space but people come and go so you’ll eventually grab a spot.

A beautiful hidden cove with a small pebble beach. There is the option to rent a sunbed with an umbrella (2 sunbeds + umbrella = €15). The water is crystal clear. We visited in the afternoon, and there were few people. Further out, the water is deeper and still so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom. If you’re coming by car, there’s a large parking (free) lot available. We came by Bolt. ☺️

This is a beautiful beach, much better than xlendi or others. I really enjoyed swimming here however the slope was very scary for the car so I parked s bit further away. It's a small beach but so lovely and calm and beautiful colours. Definitely worth going to visit and swim in 🏖️

A tranquil little beach in Gozo, perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful swim. The waters are crystal clear and absolutely beautiful. We got there around 11am and it wasn’t busy at all, which made it even more enjoyable. There’s also a small café nearby and some water sports available, so you’ve got everything you need for a relaxing day.

Gorgeous small beach with snorkeling and jumping from rocks into the sea with a small shed for refreshments worthwhile! Be warned steep road down
Kieran B — Google review
If it weren't for the incredible beauty of the place, I wouldn't give it such a high rating, access is not so easy for those who are going as a driving, with access from a super narrow road it’s a little challenge to get to, nothing impossible but hard for some drivers. But the beauty and structure with bars and water entertainment are wonderful.

We just had an incredible lunch here. The fish special (filet of denci with olives, capers, tomatoes, wine, lemon) was absolutely spectacular. The fish was so fresh & delicious perfectly cooked & the flavors & toppings were incredible… & the portion was huge… just wow. The vegetarian pizza was also outstanding. We originally asked to sit outside, but that wasn’t available at the time so we sat inside & were fine with it… but soon a table became available, so our kind & friendly waiter offered it to us. The location on Victory Square is perfect & we enjoyed watching the setup for a big church celebration this evening. Inside is fine too, but it had less ambience & some 80s music that is not our cup of tea. The food arrived quickly; within 10-15 minutes of ordering I think. You pay inside if paying with card. The desserts in the case looked delicious.

Had the traditional Rabbit Stew and it is amazing. Best food I have eaten all week on Gozo. Highly recommended.

Not good experience We had pasta carbonara and pasta with rabbit and my partner stopped eating after few bites and asked me if i can smell something weird with the food . I said no. Obviously he did not continue to eat and was vomiting extensively in hour or so. I am sick in my stomach 4 hours after eating Don’t recommend this place.

LATINI RESTAURANT XAGHRAA GOZO is an amazing place to eat in Gozo. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. There's a large menu with a lot of variety, and the staff are very helpful. The location is perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxing meal in a beautiful setting.
We were able to get a table here without a reservation on our first day in Gozo. The service is very friendly and attentive. We had a variety of dishes, all which were delicious. There was also a complimentary soup starter, which was also very nice. I would recommend visiting this restaurant for some delicious food and a warm welcome.

Wonderful place, great service. Great appetizers between meals. The pesto bread, potato soup, and lemon ice cream were a wonderful surprise. The best food we've ever eaten. We ordered a lot to try, and everything was simply excellent.

We were a little late to dinner and we're struggling to find a table but they got a table made up for us and we had a fantastic meal. Some lovely bread and a small complimentary leek and potato soup to start (forgot the pic), then four starters which are quite large, I had the meagre fish pie, fantastic, and four mains. I had the trio of meats, I thoroughly recommend this, duck, quail and pork with some fruity sauce. The others had steak, a mixed grill and the mushroom ravioli (which was also amazing, I tried it). Between the course there was complimentary lemon sorbet. We ordered beers and wine too, one coffee and some water. Less than €50 each. Great food, great service in a lovely square.

Really lovely place we ate here twice in our 5 day stay. Food cooked well. Staff really friendly and attentive. Wine a good price local and really great. Ravioli excellent!!! Duck really well cooked crunchy skin and well rendered.

The staff are very helpful. We wanted a table inside because of the loud music out in the plaza and they tried their best to accommodate. Food was amazing too. We ordered a seafood platter to share, some grilled vegetable, swordfish steak and beef rib and they are all nicely presented. Very delicious meal 😋

Nice restaurant in the centre, opposite the big church. Wonderful atmosphere on the piazza. Starter was very good (Lampuki Ceviche) and mains were really tasty and well prepared & presented. Service was very friendly, helpful and quick, no complaints whatsoever. Only drawdown was the lady at the neighboring table, deeming it appropriate to smoke a Cigarillo at her table, despite the No Smoking-sign on the post of the sunscreen. Some people just never learned to respect others, and unfortunately, the boss decided not to get involved when asked about it.

Firstly, let me say that the service and attention to details from the staff was perfect. The location and setting right opposite that beautiful church on the square provided an amazing atmosphere. And then top it all off the food was delicious and my steak was sublime. Thank you.

The food was perfect. Everything tasted perfect and was well-seasoned. The service was top-notch. I highly recommend this place. It's one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. We got pesto bread for appetizers, potato soup, and lemon ice cream between courses. Everything was wonderful.

Il-Logga Boutique Hotel & Restaurant in Xaghra offers casual rooms, some with valley and sea views. The hotel features a rooftop pool and dining at Il-Logga Restaurant. It is conveniently located within a 10-minute drive of Gozo Ferry Terminal and Xerri's Grotto. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, rooftop terrace, complimentary Wi-Fi, and concierge services.
We were a bit hesitant as it was kind of far from our location, but the menu looked interesting so we gave it a try. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! From the first bread with truffle butter, to the chicken balls appetizer and finalizing with the main course, everything was delicious. The server was kind and always quick with the service in general.

Great hospitality, very clean and nice place. Restaurant serves amazing food.very helpful staff and rooms equipped with coffee machine, tea and fridge. highly recommended…
Clint M — Google review
Their cover photo needs updating and is expertly shot to not show that the hotel is in fact not near a green space. It is located at the intersection of two main thoroughfares. The double bedroom we were assigned did not have a proper door to the bathroom. And the bathroom was tiny. They do not show a photo of this on the website. I recommend any guest confirm beforehand verification of the room they are staying in matches the photos. Upon seeing the pics were misrepresented, we agreed to an early checkout after x1 night. However when following up with both hotel and Booking.com, they did not honour this agreement. Charging me for x5 extra nights I did not stay there.

II- Logga was our base during our stay in Gozo. This family owned boutique hotel has rooms with a home styled feel and a top notched restaurant. Quiet hill top location. Breezy with fantastic views from the roof. SERVICE: Excellent service. We felt well taken care of. BREAKFAST: Breakfast was included in our stay. We had options of 4 food items that we selected from a list with free-flow toasts, butter / bread spread and beverages like coffee, tea and juice included by default. The breakfast was beautifully presented, high quality and filled us up. ROOM: Our room was spacious, well-equipped with airconditioning and a ceiling fan. The TV had local and satellite channels. The bed and pillows were homely and we slept well. The toilet was fresh and the shower worked great. Water quality in Gozo though is salty. Although room was flanked by 2 streets with vehicle traffic, with the windows and doors closed, it hardly bothered us. RESTAURANT: We had some dinners at the restaurant as it was convenient and the food was good. The dishes are excellent. Main dishes comes with sides of roasted vegetables, french fries / fried potatoes. The spiced fried potatoes here were some of the best that I have ever eaten. Recommend these dishes: Risotto Duo of Rabbit Local Pork Neck Grilled Rib-eye Steak ROOF TOP POOL: The pool is comfortable for up to 4 people and good for a wind down after a long day of excursions. During our stay, we rarely bump into other guests so we mostly had the place to ourselves. It is unblocked views and sunny throughout the day. In the evenings it becomes more windy and chilly. LOCATION: For us, it turned out to be a central location to the attractions. The roads are well connected and we could get to our destinations easily. Parking was no issue. We always managed to find free roadside parking close to the hotel.

Pros: good location, semi spacious roooms, cute little pool, clean and kind maintenance/cleaning staff Cons: thin walls, you can pretty much hear your neighbours doing anything in the nearby rooms (ie turning in the lights, TV, AC etc) Also felt like the service was a bit absent compared to other boutique hotels we stayed in, I would say it’s feels more like a chain. Also the pictures were taken by a professional, and we didn’t get the same impressions as they depicted. Would recommend if you are looking for a budget option.

Had Sunday lunch today at the restaurant and it was impressive. The Service is some of the best I have experienced in Gozo - really well done. The food is delicious especially the chicken truffle balls and the prawn pancake. I.had rabbit for maim and this was good but too large a portion. That being said the pulled rabbit part was very tasty. Value for money also. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The experience was very positive. Location is quite, the hotel is very well kept, and rooms are clean. I must mention the very friendly staff and also the food at the restaurant. I had a beef chunk and I can say I never ate beef as tender and well prepared as at this place. Congrats to the Chef

Superb experience!! This was a fantastic dinner from start to finish. Amazing food, attention to detail, impeccable service, everything was just exquisite. To top it off we received complimentary dishes with every course, and they even gave us a birthday card and rose because they noticed we were celebrating a birthday. Such eye for detail. Incomparable gastronomical experience on the islands. Highly, highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this place by complete accident and ended up having a delightful evening! Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely staff who offered us a complimentary welcome drink, also followed by complimentary amuse bouche. We then ordered squid ink risotto, beef tartare and duck ragu pasta (everything was delicious!). The star of the show however was definitely the pistachio soufflé - WOW! Totally recommend this dessert. Hats off to all of the staff who were super attentive and offered sterling service, we will definitely be back!
