The Soo Locks is an impressive engineering marvel that allows ships of various sizes to traverse between Lake Superior and Lake Huron. Dating back to the mid-1800s, these gravity-fed locks lift and lower 1,000-foot freighters as well as smaller vessels over a 21-foot drop. Visitors can observe this slow-motion action from a covered observation platform and explore the area's maritime history at the Visitors Center.
Our first experience going through locks. The crew was so informative. I had no idea there were so many locks in the US even after seeing the Panama Canal earlier this year. This is smaller scale but equally vital to commerce and industry. Our Captain took us up the Canada side and back (down) on the US side. We'll visit again and do this tour again.

This was a great experience. The park does not allow any weapons! Leave your pocket knives in the car. Public restroom. The locks are very interesting. My family and 2 other families traveling had a great time. The ice-cream right across the street is amazing and very affordable. Walking strawberries are great but expensive.
Jeremy T — Google review
This may be one of the coolest things Ice seen. Its just amazing watching the big ships move through the lock. There's a a nice viewing platform. A lovely park. And the visitor center is very interesting. Definitely want to come back, 2 hours just isn't enough to enjoy the area and I want to take the boat tour.
Cecily B — Google review
Fascinating experience. You float through a lock upstream, rising 22', tour the St Mary's River a bit, and then head back through a Canadian lock. No passport required. We rode on the Original Soo Locks Boat Tours. Well worth the price!
Scott H — Google review
The Soo Locks are a set of parallel locks, operated and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and they enable ships to travel between Lake Superior and the lower Great Lakes. The locks are located on the St. Marys River between Lake Superior and Lake Huron, between the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan and the Canadian province of Ontario. They bypass the rapids of the river, where the water falls 21 ft (6.4 m). The locks pass an average of 10,000 ships per year. The Soo Locks has a nice visitor center, which provides historical information, as well as current workload and performance statistics. It's well worth spending 25 minutes visiting all the exhibits. A three-level observation deck allows visitors a close-up of the locks in operation.
Howard S — Google review
Was a amazing experience, we got there on a busy day and loved seeing so many ships come thru and 3 - 1000 footers in one day. Waiting to see when the 3rd lock gets done. Definitely will be going back once it's done.
Will M — Google review
Definitely worth the trip. Watched three boats go through on a rainy afternoon. The viewing platform (under roof) is awesome and the historical visitor’s center has great info and visuals to view. Staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and engaging.
Paul D — Google review
Took the very informative boat tour. I highly recommend the boat trip since you not only see the 1000 ft ships go thru, we went thru the locks too... so I got the full picture of how the locks work.

Maritime museum
The Soo Locks Visitor Center is a must-visit destination for witnessing the impressive sight of massive freighter ships navigating through the locks. The center offers an observation deck with two levels, providing unobstructed views of the MacArthur Lock in operation. Inside, visitors can explore informative displays detailing the history and significance of this vital shipping canal. Additionally, there are platforms offering close-up views of ships passing through the locks.
What a great day! A beautiful park surrounding the Visitors’ Center. You can go in the observation deck, have a picnic and look at the models and watch a freighter go through the locks. There are public restrooms. Metered parking out front.
Rita L — Google review
Astounding the volume and size of these "Footers" that traverse the Soo Locks. The observation desk gives an up close viewing encounter of the transition from Lake Superior, 22 feet lower, to the St Mary's River. The rich history and growth planned for the locks as a vital water highway for the global economy and scale of volume moving through the locks each day is just staggering! The staff from the Army Corp Engineers made the experience very informative and fun, relating the size, life, and experience of the sailors on the "Footers" during the 42 week operating season. Edwin J. Gott imaged here was up fitted with new more efficient engines producing 19k HP and at one point held the record for the largest weight transported at over 74k Tons of cargo. Cargo varies between Iron ore, grain, and Coal throughout the Great Lakes regions.

I’m only giving it 4 stars because I couldn’t bring my dog to the viewing platform otherwise it’s a great experience, haven’t been here since I was 7-8 and my mom was still alive. Found a killer food truck, Motown Nate’s, only a few miles from the visitor center, the brisket tacos and brisket mac and cheese were amazing but look at those fries, huge hand cut fries, they were so good. I highly recommend Motown Nate’s in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan.
Chris L — Google review
Check out the displays inside then head observation decks. The announce ships arrivals or you can use an app. We saw the tourists boats and a 1000 footer go through the locks. Bring change for the parking meters.
Rebel C — Google review
Amazing place to visit! It’s mesmerizing to see how the locks work. The Visitor Center has schedule that you can check when ships will be coming through the lock, so you can coordinate your time to watch it. The whole process for a large ship is about 40 mins, and you can watch from the stand.
Norapat P — Google review
An engineering marvel that allows the huge ships to easily go from lakes Michigan and Huron to Lake Superior! We got to see a 1000 ft ore carrier going through the locks while we toured! The app “MarineTraffic -Ship tracking “ shows you where the ships are located nearby as well as there destinations!
Terry K — Google review
Nice view for incoming ships and the staff are very knowledgeable if you have questions.

It was free! We up came on a whim on a weekday, we were camping at the Straits by the bridge. It was pretty cool! It’s 2 stories high with a large viewing window and rail and shelter. Some places didn’t have a window but only a rail. There’s a few benches to sit on to view too. Every once in a while someone would come on the loud speaker to explain what was on the ship in the lock and a little information about it. My husband was enthralled lol. We stayed probably 2 hours watching the ships come and go. We could’ve stayed all day if our feet weren’t tired from site seeing.

The Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours have been a beloved attraction for many years, offering a unique and entertaining experience. During the 90-minute tour, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Soo Locks and the St. Marys River waterfront. It's recommended to bring a jacket for cooler temperatures and sunscreen for sun protection if sitting on the top deck during mid-summer tours.
Our group had a great tour. Going through the small Canadian locks and the US locks was a unique experience. We got to see 2 1000 foot freighters.
Rebel C — Google review
We really enjoyed our tour through the locks during Engineers Day. There is seating inside on the lower level or outside on the upper level. It was raining during most of our tour but we still enjoyed the trip. The tour lasted just over an hour and a half which sounds long but really isn't. There are bathrooms downstairs and a snack bar with drinks available. We went through the MacArthur Lock on the way upstream and came back through the Canadian Lock. The hosts are very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information during the tour. The only downside is that with the rain the seats get wet and the stairs can be slippery. That's no fault of the tour company though!

The Famous Soo Locks Boat Tour is an unforgettable experience! Cruising through the locks and watching the water levels rise and fall up close is simply fascinating. The live commentary on board was informative and engaging — we learned so much about the history, engineering, and significance of the locks while enjoying the beautiful views along the way. The reception area is quite spacious, with a convenient ticket window and a fairly big gift shop where you can pick up some nice souvenirs. The boat was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and everything was smooth and well-organized. Perfect for families, history lovers, or anyone looking for a unique experience in Sault Ste. Marie. Highly recommended!

I am a Canadian who came over to take the fireworks cruise on July 1st. I was looking for something different to do instead of the traditional sitting in a crowd on a lawn chair. I really enjoyed myself. I plan on returning for another cruise. I would like to suggest you have the gift shop open on firework cruise nights I was wanting a souvenir but the store was closed for the day.

The locks tour was great. Very informative and interesting. You could walk around on the boat and look at the views all around. They had nice snacks and drinks available for purchase. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

We did the Haunted riverboat cruise for the second time and we loved it!! So full of history and information! This second time was a Halloween costume party, so it added some extra fun to the whole experience. My boyfriend has lived in the Soo for most of his life and even he learned things about the area he never knew - and the fact they were spooky things makes it even better.

We took the last tour of the day, th weather was a bit cool and overcast which for us just added to the feeling of the Great Lakes. The guide was friendly and very informative. The whole experience was wonderful, definitely was worth it!

The Museum Ship Valley Camp offers a unique experience to explore the life of a Great Lakes freighter in the early 20th century. The ship features over 100 exhibits, including an Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial with original lifeboats. Visitors can also explore crew quarters and view aquariums with large tanks. The preserved ship now serves as a museum and aquarium, offering an educational experience for all ages. With its rich history and extensive exhibits, the Valley Camp provides insight into maritime life on the Great Lakes.
The museum is packed with historical displays, and the ship itself is also very impressive and was a great opportunity to tour it. We were very limited on time, and wished we could have stayed longer. If you really want to see all there is to see on the ship, you probably need to plan to be there for around 3 hours. It looked like there was a guided tour option too as we saw a large group with a tour guide. We had a great time rushing around the ship trying to see as much of it as we could in the time we had!! I would go back another time.
Larissa G — Google review
cool experience, wish you could explore more of the ship. as someone with curiosity about so many things would love to see more of the engine room. also would be nice if there was guides to answer questions etc. all in all a cool experience though lot s of great artifacts, such as the edmund fitzgerald life boats.
Jacob M — Google review
What’s not to like about a museum in a ship. It’s loaded with displays, and historical artifacts, including life boats from the Edmond Fitzgerald. You can walk top side and see all the crew quarters and the helm. The Valley Camp’s length is 550 feet. Some freighters are 1000 ft today. Check out the very bottom to see the floor that warped from all the tons of cargo it carried. The museum has a lot of information about Great Lakes ships.
Rebel C — Google review
This was a fun visit for the whole family and it had ramps to most places for folks who can't do stairs. Loaded with history of shipping and the coast guard around the great lakes while at the same time touring an actual barge!
Sheila Y — Google review
I was in awe to be able to walk through an entire ship on all three levels. There is a large collection of maritime artifacts! My favorite was a lifeboat from the Edmund Fitzgerald. It gives you an eerie and somber feeling to not only touch the boat, but to see the metal of the lifeboat torn from the rough storm that claimed the ship and crew. The top deck is a bit scary if you are afraid of heights, but it is worth braving. The crew quarters are located up there and it was very interesting to see how and where a crewmen lives while aboard the ship.

We got the adventure pass which is the tour of the ship, the tower, and boat tour. Let me tell you. You need to carve out a day to do this. I am from port huron and we live in iron mountain area. We have never been to the Su so it was both our first time. Growing up on the lake you would see the Ore boats and wonder what it was like to be inside. This gave us the opportunity to see. It took about 2 hours to explore fully and the great thing is if you want to you could go as many times as you wanted that day as it is a day pass into the ship. Not only do you get to see artifacts, paintings, and the ship in person but you get to explore on your own terms and pace. Every room and space is utilized with exhibits and staff was friendly. Everyone was respectful in not touching anything. Some areas have leaks so puddles can be seen. They repaired the very top so it is slippery when walking on but it was worth it. To be that high up and to see the captains quarters. The entire experience was really cool. At times it was a little hard to breathe for me because I have asthma but let me tell you it was worth it. Wonderful experience.

Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site is a remarkable destination that showcases the ingenuity of 19th-century engineering. Established in 1895, this historic canal was once the world's longest lock and the first to utilize electricity, serving as a crucial passage for vessels navigating between Lake Superior and Lake Huron while avoiding the treacherous St. Marys Rapids. Visitors can explore its fascinating history through guided tours, stroll along scenic trails, or rent bikes to enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
Totally enjoyable afternoon- with such a beautiful park that brings so much history. There is a grassy area to relax and it offers picnic tables. We walked over the bridge and enjoyed the trails. Then went to the end of the road to see the emergency swing bridge. So glad we stopped in for a quick afternoon walk. Definitely planning more time next time.

We took the Famous boat tours boat 🚢 with the adventure pass. It was a beautiful day with friendly staff. Super informative. What a beautiful lady she is. You could tell she loves her job and she was funny. Nice fresh breath of air. They offered snacks and drinks. Got to learn about the locks, the soo, and the Canadian side of the locks. On our way back there was a boat bobbing in the water. They have a no one gets left behind code and without hesitation went to see if they were in need of help. Everything was okay but turns out the boat was not starting. They immediately dispatched help. Wonderful group of people ❤️

Visiting this historic canal was an unforgettable experience. The combination of natural beauty and rich history makes it a true Canadian treasure. Walking along the canal, you really get a sense of its importance in shaping the country’s past, while also enjoying stunning views and peaceful surroundings. The pathways are well maintained, perfect for walking or biking, and there are plenty of spots to stop, take in the scenery, and learn about its heritage. It’s both relaxing and educational—a must-visit for anyone who loves history, culture, and the outdoors.

The walking trails are peaceful, the views of the water are stunning, and the locks themselves are fascinating to watch in action. The visitor center has plenty of interesting exhibits that explain the rich history of the canal, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. It’s a perfect spot to spend a relaxing afternoon — whether you’re interested in ships, history, or just looking for scenic views. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

Despite being a former shadow of itself, Cambrian Mall remains a decent destination due to its prime location. The mall's desolation, with numerous empty spaces outnumbering tenants, is more indicative of the current times rather than the mall's inherent faults. However, the remaining establishments are still great and the food court offers satisfactory options. Hopefully, this once magnificent place can regain its former glory as it boasts an attractive appearance and favorable positioning.
I bought the Birch sausage mix Birch water is a health benefit it is absolutely wonderful. The sausage was very tasty clean beautiful cut of meat they work at the meet they make a great sausage. The next time I'm going to make sure there's more room in my cooler so I can take more flavors back. Live meat sausages myself for 30 years. And they are very good quality sausage. If you're in the neighborhood you should try it you will not be sorry.

I used to love this mall growing up in the 90’s but recently it’s become a ghost town. The food area only has a coffee shop now. Nothing else. Canadian Tire and Shoppers Drugmart are the only things keeping this place from shutting down. Sadly the Sault is a dying town that doesn’t need two larger shopping centres anymore.
Joseph M — Google review
I’ll be honest—this mall is a shadow of what it used to be from what I've heard. It often feels abandoned, with more closed storefronts than open ones. The main reason it still sees any foot traffic is thanks to the nearby Canadian Tire, a few banks, Dollar Tree, and Shoppers Drug Mart. The atmosphere is eerily quiet. There is a singular coffee shop in the cafeteria and the public washrooms unfortunately tend to attract some troubling situations being near an exit—I once had to call an ambulance for someone in distress (drug use suspected). Do try to avoid them. That said, I truly believe this place has potential. As a younger person growing up in the Soo, it's clear the city needs more spaces and activities for the youth, rather than remaining so retirement-focused. This building could absolutely become a hub for younger generations if given the right attention and investment. I’d love to see more stores, attractions, and community events bring life back to this space. I wouldn’t say to avoid this mall—if anything, stop by to support the businesses that are still holding on. This mall holds a lot of history, for many who grew up here. It still carries some sentimental value from what I hear. It may just be a quick pit stop now, but it has the potential to become much more. If you're in the area just think about it:)
Kiiana C — Google review
Went to this mall yesterday. I am legally blind and the environmental staff were so kind to me. When I entered and exited, the employee held the door for me. I accidentally knocked over a wet floor cone and they helped me pick it up. Thank you for being kind.

Tim Hortons is a Canadian chain known for its premium-blend coffee, light fare, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Visitors have praised the engaging staff and the quality of their coffee and sandwiches. Many travelers have found Tim Hortons to be a reliable option across various states and provinces in Canada, providing convenience to both the traveling public and working individuals. Some specific locations are highlighted for consistently getting orders right and serving great-tasting coffee.
Went there before work for a coffee and farmers wrap, and when I opened it up, there was MELTED PLASTIC IN MY WRAP. That’s beyond disgusting and the guy you had working the drive thru window was unpleasant. Didn’t say a word to me and kept talking to his friend.

Closest Timmies to where I live and I'm often stopping in to pick up a coffee and snack before work, but almost every time after ordering my food they pull me up to the window only to tell me they actually don't have either the scrambled eggs prepared or they don't have the item I order available. After the 5th time of this happening I figured it deserved a review.

I hate leaving reviews, but this place is the worst in the evenings. This is not the first time I've gone there around 6pm (after dinner when you want dessert) and they're out of stuff. Today they were out of EVERY baked good. Watched the girl make my extra lrg dark roast out of three different pots and still wasn't enough to fill the cup. Steep tea was cold, asked for another and they didn't have anymore brewed. This being said, the morning staff, Monday to Friday are great!

This Tim's honestly sucks so much HOLY, First of all I have to come here every morning cause it's the closest to me before I go to work Second of all every time I come in at around 5:45am there's 4 people working at the drive thru and noone taking orders at the register when I walk in I have to wait at least 10 mins for someone to take my order Third of all there's always something missing at this tims whether I want food or merchandise they always say oh no we don't have that Fourth of all there's an issue with payment most of the time they either don't take card cause they're machine is down or it's cash only.... Fifth of all the foods always wrong.. I asked for a bagel toasted with butter guy didn't even toast it grabbed a bagel slapped butter on it and off I go they don't even cut it in half... What the hell is going on at this tims..
Andy P — Google review
I visited this location just 10 minutes ago, and they are currently out of steak and turkey sandwiches, which is quite disappointing. I guess there was one Indian girl who looked like their in charge from her behavior, she was so rude, not only with me but with other customers as well. I got to know from my colleague that she used to refuse to sell food to them many times. This is not the first time with me, that's why I decided to write a review.
EMILIE P — Google review
I added a few stars since they got the new renovation so theyve improved on that aspect, during the day the customer service is okayish, some ladies were friendly... But don't get me started on nights.. I usually pick up a coffee every shift before nights and the one girl working there is awful at everything she does, customer service, English, getting orders right, giving a refund, everything.. Ive called Tim Hortons and complained to day staff, they apologize but yet it keeps happening with the same girl. I talked to an employee who used to work at this location and she claims that the workers couldn't stand her. I'm absolutely baffled she still works there. Save your money and go next door to McDonald's for coffee or tea, better customer service and better quality. And they won't gatekeep the spoons. Sincerely, a Canadian who misses the old Tim Hortons.

Lockview Restaurant is a seafood restaurant with a retro vibe and excellent food. The whitefish is delicious and the cheese curds are good. The pan fried whitefish is also tasty. The service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant is clean.
We had a great meal at the Lockview. We weren’t given the option to sit upstairs, but if given the option, I would recommend it as it’s a bit more updated, nicer atmosphere and better view. Neither level have that great of a view of the ships / locks…. Views are fairly obstructed. But the food and service was good, and I would recommend it. Fresh fish caught locally.

10/10 for vegetarians, despite the extensive fish menu. I was hesitant but was pleasantly surprised. The baked potato: I was able to have it loaded with mushrooms! The rice was great, but soft. I don’t mind that. The “today’s vegetables” were terrific! Honestly so good. The service and staff and kind. Everyone’s meals on the menu were on point and on time. Would go again in a heartbeat

I was very excited about this place because I love seafood. The first time we went the wait was too long, about an hour, that we had to return next day. We waited for about 15 minutes to get seated. The food was bland. I got whitefish and my husband steak. The atmosphere wasn't anything special. Waiters were OK. I was expecting a little more. The location is perfect on the main street in town.

My girlfriend and I were starving when we got back from an afternoon in the Canadian Soo, and while looking up local eateries that were open on Labor Day, we came upon Lockview Restaurant. Once we saw they had pasties on their menu, we were sold! The pasties were delicious with gravy, and the onion rings were beyond amazing! The interior decor was wonderful with all the nautical themes, and the view of the ships passing through the locks was definitely the cherry on top! We'll definitely be back!

They did a great job. The view was fantastic, right next to the locks, you can’t beat the location. My salad, soup, and crab-stuffed shrimp were all really good. Melissa, our server, was friendly and did a fantastic job. For a small town, this place is a real gem.

Recently stopped here with my wife for dinner. We were on our 30th Anniversary road trip. The food & atmosphere were amazing!! Great service with an amazing view of the Soo Locks. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in town or traveling through. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing experience!!

Really like this place. Fresh fish caught by locals, can't get better than that. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Atmosphere is nice especially sitting upstairs watching ships go thru the locks. Only negative is the table and chairs setup - my mother had the same set in 1960.

We drove as far north as we could in Michigan. We visited the Locks. Very interesting. Right across the street is The Lockview Restaurant. An older local restaurant fun of eclectic decor highlighting the St Mary’s River. The food was delicious. Just what we needed. Service was good. We enjoyed our visit. Go try it when in that area. Then go across the street & see how the Locks get the ships 🚢 moving.

Burger Don is a lively spot offering a variety of house and build-your-own burgers, Mexican dishes, hot dogs, and poutine along with craft beer. One of their standout items is the two-burger stack featuring sharp cheddar and maple-glazed bacon sandwiched between grilled honey-dripped doughnuts. Visitors praise the friendly staff, quick service, and exceptional food quality. The homemade patties are juicy while the buns add just the right amount of structure to the burgers.
Food presentation is great and so is the flavor! The staff are friendly and completes for an enjoyable dine out experience. I enjoyed the doughnut burger with a Cesar salad, a beer and deep fried ice cream for dessert!

We ate a late lunch at The Burger Don. We were immediately seated. They were short staffed, but Nathan still did a great job! Food was quick, hot, and delicious! We will be back for sure!

Great food! We found The Burger Don through a quick Google search after our Agawa Canyon Train Tour. It was a Saturday evening so they were quite busy but we were seated after a 20-30 minute wait. The food was definitely worth the wait! Our waiter was very kind and enthusiastic. The burgers were amazing but I really loved the onion rings! Our food came quite quickly upon ordering so that was great as well.

Best burger joint in town! It's the only stop my family and I make a point of hitting every time we pass through the Sault. Nice dine in area and they make practically everything in-house, and have unique takes on classic dishes. Well done and well run

I had to bring my husband to try their delicious burgers and sides. Honestly, this place has the best burger I've ever had. The service is always great too... Tori was our server today, and she was awesome!

Had a great Don burger! The last time I went, years ago, it was not the best food for anyone in our whole group but it was phenomenal yesterday!!! I can't seem to add another review from June 19 but we had Sam as our server and she was awesome. She made the best Caesar I've ever had!!! Another awesome lunch Dec 28!

Had to wait about 45 minutes since it was a Friday night. Order the hangover burger and beef tacos. The burger was one of the best I ever eaten. The fried egg went perfectly with the rest of the burger. The bun was also excellent. Upgraded to the onion rings but they were not piping hot. The beef in the tacos had a lot of flavor. Fries were excellent too.

Restaurant
The Boiler Room, a new addition to Sault Ste Marie's dining scene, offers delicious wood-fired pizzas made with care and cooked in a separate oven. Located in the historic St. Marys paper mill within the Machine Shop, this pub serves personal-sized pizzas that are both classic and contemporary. The menu also features vegetarian options for those looking for meat-free alternatives.
My friend and I were in town for the weekend with a sports team and had heard great things about The Boiler Room. It was about a 45 min walk from where we were staying but it was beyond worth it. We were seated at the bar which was super neat getting to watch the pizzas being made right in front of us! Our server Sami was wonderful, she was super friendly and helped make our experience so amazing. We had pizzas which were phenomenal and had not only our server check in on us but also 2 of the chefs asked us how our meals were. Overall it was a 10/10 for us!
Sarah M — Google review
Hadn’t been to the boiler room since it opened. We were craving pizza after a full day of golf so we figured why not try it out ? I will say I had some hesitations going into it. The sault is known for its Italian food & quality. This includes pizza. It’s hard to want to go to a non Italian joint for Italian food. This is a note of caution. the night we went they seemed to be short staffed with only one server and a pretty busy restaurant. It took a bit for us to be seated (no wait in front of us). The menu has some decent options but it’s not massive by any means. We started with the deep fried cheese curds. These were and still are the winner. Something about the breading seasoning and their marinara just took it home for us. Perfect crunch, perfect coating. Highly recommend. My partner got the calzone, I got a margarita pizza. My partner didn’t mind his meal but he didn’t LOVE it. The portion was massive (not a bad thing) but the amount of cheese inside was sickening. He needed to pull cheese out with the fork because it was hard to get through. It also seemed a lot larger than a twelve inch pizza made into a calzone. My pizza? It was decent. The flavours were consistent with margherita pizzas I’ve had in the past. What I didn’t like was how thin the crust was. I like a bit more meat on the bone, if you will. The burnt pieces and the wood fires was tasty though I will say. The environment. Is cool. Unique. In the old boiler room of the pulp mill (hence the name). It’s a pretty small place though so I can see it being busy and hectic. The server was super kind, despite not being able to be as present due to the workload. Honestly? Not the place for to-die-for pizza in the Sault. Not the worst, but this wouldn’t be where I see myself heading in the future for pizza.
Vikki P — Google review
We loved the pizza, nachos and especially the prime rib melt! We loved the iced tea as well! The wings was just ok but not to our liking. A bit tough (not juicy) and not too flavorful. Service was good! Place was nice and spacious

It’s a great restaurant for large groups! I love that it’s in such a historic building and the overall atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciated the waiter and it improve our dining experience! One thing that I would warn you is to go with an empty stomach because they don’t mess around with portions. The 18” pizzas really are 18” and we had trouble finishing one large (18”) and one regular (12”) between three adults. We also got the fried cheese curds with delicious marinara sauce but I don’t think it made too much of a difference. I’m not complaining but just setting expectations. It was overall a great experience and would come back again for other pizzas!
Scott L — Google review
Nice and clean. Wasn't busy when we arrived. Got to choose where we wanted to sit. Not a big restaurant so can't imagine going on a busy day. Only ordered the pizza and it was great. We only saw two pizza sizes. The small is the size of a plate. The large is 8 what we call in the US, New York size slices. More than plenty for two people maybe even 3.
Michael I — Google review
Good atmosphere, friendly people but the food didn't seem to be their strong suit. A prime rib sandwich that looked like M&M steak shavings, horribly dry, au jus that had less flavour than water and to top it off, it was quite a long wait - 2 hour lunch, can't go back there. The waitress was literally bringing stuff out, one dish at a time - 4 trips, just to bring my food because she didn't believe in platters (drink, meal, au jus dish and gravy bowl - she needed FOUR trips for that).
Mark O — Google review
If I could give a rating lower than one, I would. Server was polite but incompetent- only visited the table maybe 4 times from the start of our visit and wasn’t able to split appetizers on the bills. The food was disappointing and flavourless, how can you burn a pizza crust while not even melting the cheese, and was horrible quality for the price. The restaurant was less than half full when we got there, but it was so loud you couldn’t have a conversation with your own table. Kids running around and screaming while banging on the windows. Multiple huge televisions blaring. Staff dragging and rearranging tables and chairs. The best part of the visit was getting to leave.
Zil Y — Google review
This is difficult. Normally we recommend this spot to everyone for the best food and service in the area, so I rated this higher than my last experience warranted. The French fries in the poutine were gritty like they were dirty in 2 of our 3 plates. The service was very friendly, but horrible. It wasn't busy enough to be so disorganized. Will change the review if experience is more enjoyable next time.

The Mill Steakhouse and Wine Bar is a trendy restaurant located in the Soo, housed in converted St. Marys Paper Mill buildings. The menu offers more than just steaks, with tantalizing options like Maple Fennel Lamb Sirloin and Almond Crusted Salmon. The portions are hearty, starting with a salad and cornbread before moving on to juicy prime rib or other delicious entrees.
Fantastic Valentines evening. We had reservations for 6 people, 4 checked out. They accommodated 2 of us. Ended up with a marvellous evening chatting with other couples. Best restaurant in the Soo

We had a wonderful experience at Mill Steakhouse. There are not many good options available in the area and we are so glad we stumbled upon this gem!! The portions are huge and the food just top notch. The steak was cooked to perfection and the pasta was delicious too. The service was excellent and we would surely go there again whenever in the area. It was my birthday and they made it very special.

Our first time at The Mill Steakhouse and I must say that it was absolutely amazing! One of the best meals we have ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress Michelle was very personable and helpful. Good wine, good soup (bit too salty) but the prime dish; the ribs and wings were dry and flavorless. Too bad because it tainted an otherwise fine experience. Upon coming home one of us became sick because of the food. Hopefully, a one time thing

Nice surroundings and friendly staff. I booked a reservation online which asked if we where celebrating anything. It was my husband's 70th birthday. Staff was aware of this and after dinner, as is normal, they asked if we wanted dessert. Both of us said no. The potions where quite large and we didn't even finish our dinner. We asked to take the leftovers home. When they brought to bag to put them in they gave it to my husband. They put a piece of their wonderful carrot cake in there for him to take home. Very nice gesture.

This fairly new restaurant to the Soo, captured the steep local history by converting a few of St. Mary’s Paper Mill buildings into a few trendy restaurants which are interconnected with each other. When coming here to dine, bring your appetite as the portions are hearty. The meals started with a salad and yummy corn bread. Each of the meals served were enjoyed by all. My prime rib was juicy and tasty - just like how my mom used to cook it! Then we finished our delicious meal with some dessert. Yes, we went home with some food. :) Service was very good!!

The hotel provides comfortable accommodation with amenities like mini fridges and microwaves upon request. The entertainment at Dreammakers Theatre features renowned artists such as Kenny Rogers and Smokey Robinson. Additionally, the location offers access to the Station Mall with numerous stores and entertainment options.
We stayed here September 27th Very clean rooms and awesome customer service — the front desk staff were fantastic! Loved the hotel and definitely plan to stay again, next time for longer. It was just a short drive into the U.S., not far from the border. Interestingly, hotels on the Canadian side in the Soo were more expensive and didn’t have nearly as many amenities or updates. Great value and experience overall! 5+ stars (massive applause for the front desk staff, super lovely ladies and customer service- as well as the valet, we didn’t use them but I witnessed several times very friendly and helpful interactions) love love love!

I needed a place to stay in Sault Ste Marie for work based on recommendations from others. I am glad I did. I would enjoy returning and staying on vacation. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The refrigerator was big and had a freezer shelf. I was able to set the temperature to 32 f. They have a pool that looks inviting good restraint on property. The staff is very nice. Sault Ste Marie and surrounding area has so much to offer.

Never dressage in the rooms but will give them the benefit of the doubt because I KNOW the staff is excellent on the service. Super helpful and wonderful people. Location they are just too far from home......... maybe that's my fault.

Joke of a hotel. The rooms smelled like a skunk. The temperature jumped from boiling hot to freezing cold back to boiling hot all over the hotel. The hotel security is plain rude. The tv didn't work and the beds were so uncomfortable. If you plan on visiting the pool while here bring a personal ac unit, they have the heat so high its a lawsuit waiting to happen. There is 1 person working the front desk, they are barely there when you need help. The midnight check in crew was disgustingly nasty. There is no daily towel refresh or cleanup. Would give zero stars if possible.

I cannot comment on the hotel as I did not stay there. The concert venue however was gorgeous. A beautiful view of the lake behind whatever artist you are listening to. The grounds were very well manicured, no large holes to fall into or gravel to trip on. It was also very kid-friendly, they had event organizers come out and throw balls to the kids that they got to play with during the concert. You can bring folding chairs! And of course you can bring blankets to sit on. No umbrellas are allowed, I saw multiple umbrellas left at the entrance as i was leaving. The Porta-Johns were nice and clean and didn't smell awful which was very nice for an outdoor concert. We had a wonderful time and the staff was incredibly helpful!
Meghan J — Google review
The hotel room we stayed in was so old and dated. The light quit working in the bathroom a day after checking in. The amount of noise in the walls due to the water pipes was almost unbearable at night. The flooring was "spongy" not sure what the carpeting was covering up. They need to consider removing all of these old rooms or remodeling them after they other part of the hotel casino is finished being renovated. The casino and staff were great
Kris C — Google review
Asked a week before if I could get a king room. When we arrived they put us in the older rooms that had a smell and looked like a room out of the 60's. No king bed and they said there were none available even though the casino wasn't even half full. For a better experience in gambling go across the bridge to Canada. We will never go back and tell our friends the same. As you can see, the walkway was falling apart and if you were alone wheelchair , it would not be good.

Embark on an adventure with Soo Locks Boat Tours Original - DOCK # 1, located near the tent pavilion. Experience the impressive Great Lakes-St Lawrence Seaway system, connecting Lake Superior to the Atlantic Ocean. Witness a 21-foot drop between Lake Huron and Superior and see landmarks like Algoma Steel and the International Bridge during this two-hour tour. The narrated journey takes you through the locks, guided by retired freighter captains who ensure a safe and informative experience.
A Must-Do in Sault Ste. Marie! The Original Soo Locks Tour was an absolutely wonderful experience! The entire ride was so relaxing and peaceful the perfect way to enjoy the beauty and history of the area. The narration throughout the tour was incredibly informative and engaging, making the journey not only scenic but educational as well. We had the chance to go through the larger American locks on the way out and then returned through the smaller Canadian lock, which was such a unique and fascinating contrast. It really gave us a full appreciation for the engineering and importance of the Soo Locks system. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and exceptionally friendly. You could tell they truly love what they do and want every guest to have a great time. At the end of the tour, we stopped by the charming little gift shop by the dock. such a cute spot to pick up a souvenir! Absolutely worth every penny. I would do it again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
Penney L — Google review
We enjoyed this tour. It wasn't too long (2 hrs) and it was very informative and reasonably priced. Our vessel traveled upstream and rose 21' to the level of Lake Superior through the MacArthur lock, and then lowered 21' to the level of Lake Huron on the return trip. The tour is about the locks, the engineering and the vessels you see on the way. Very cool. The boat was in good shape and the crew were all courteous and informative. I recommend this tour if you have any maritime curiosity at all.

If I could give this boat tour more than 5-stars, I would. (Even my teenager had fun on this tour, and said it out loud!!) The crew were not only clearly familiar with the locks, steel plant, and history, but were quite funny as well. We didn’t get to ride WITH a freighter through the locks, but we got to be right next door to a 1000-footer. It was SO COOL to experience such an integral part of the Great Lakes industrial world, as we come from a state over with lots of our own maritime history. Thank you for making this such a memorable time for our family!!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She was kind of leery about a boat tour but afterwards said she loved it. Friendly staff and crew. Narration was great and we learned a lot about this history of the locks and surrounding area/industry. Got to see taconite pellets being offloaded from a cargo ship on the Canadian side. The lock transitions were awesome. Highly recommended!

Exploring the Soo Locks was great! We had a sunny day and got to see a freighter go through the locks, along with going through it ourselves. It’s very interesting how this locks work, and that it’s all gravity fed, no pumps are used. Very knowledgeable tour guides too. So much information on how the locks came to be, and how much water is used to fill them! The visitor center has a lot of information about the locks, and the guides there have a lot of information. The viewing platform was a great place to watch the freighter come through. We took the Original Soo Locks Tour and it was great. I highly recommend doing this if you are visiting the area.

Antlers Restaurant is a legendary landmark located on the south end of the Soo Locks, offering a hunting lodge vibe and serving North Michigan fare for lunch and dinner. The rustic dining room is adorned with over 200 animal mounts, providing a unique atmosphere for diners to enjoy their meals. The menu features a variety of Northern cuisine including cheese curds, poutine fries, fresh-caught whitefish and walleye, as well as Big Foot Burgers.

Very memorable restaurant! Highly recommended especially if you're into taxidermy! The restaurant has the most amazing decor that I've ever scene. There's an incredible amount to animals everywhere you look. You'll see some animals that you'll probably never see anywhere else! My waiter was very friendly and attentive. The food prices seemed fair and the selection was decent. Most importantly, the food was really tasty! Best onion rings that I've ever had!!

Poutine! Chicken Pot Pie Poutine! Oh goodness it was delicious. We had a delicious dinner. The white fish dinner was nice and crisp and the homemade fries - yum! The staff was beyond friendly- the cook came out to make sure our meal was up to par. It was late and almost time to close on a long holiday weekend. But they welcomed us and never made us feel rushed. The poutine was a huge serving! Definitely take home box 😂. If you haven’t tried poutine and are thinking about it… this is the place to go for it. This place is so much more than the atmosphere which is totally fun 🤩. Coming back for more. Family friendly, video games. Bar - full service, tv. Note- the entrance is in the BACK - plenty of parking.

I went because of the atmosphere and decor and because the onion rings looked good. The decor is fun and interesting to look at. There was a double headed calf, furry fish, polar bear and many more mounts. The onion rings are fresh made but they have such a heavy breading and they hold the grease from the fryer like a towel. The onions inside were wide cut but very thin. It was si.ilar to eating strips of paper. They look good but they are not. Go for a beer and the atmosphere. But I wouldn't expect too.much from the food if the rest of their menu is anything similar to the onion rings.
Thomas C — Google review
Not a terrible place to eat. The burger is what I would describe as a "hockey puck patty" it was about as thick as it was round. The walls and ceiling has hundreds of old taxidermy mounts of all different fish and animals.

The Tower of History, also known as the Tower of Scenic Views, offers breathtaking sights of the St. Marys River, Soo Locks, Ontario, Canada, and the Sault area. Standing at 210 feet tall with observation platforms providing a 20-mile range view, it quickly takes visitors to an enclosed observation room via an express elevator.
We got the adventure pass which included the tower. My significant other is terrified of heights and im not the biggest fan of them either. Once inside the gentlemen at the desk was seriously the most chillest, calmest, nicest guy. He immediately put our mind at ease and went through the entire process with us. It's a straight shot up with no windows in the elevator. It took less than a min to reach the top. Once up there you can't see down you just see out. It was a very cool experience. If you are reading this we appreciate your assistance and guidance. You were one cool dude 😎

The pamphlet for this tourist attraction is misleading as includes images from multiple locations / attractions in the area, each with different opening/closing times and separate ticket fees. The pamphlet makes it appear that all the images are from the Tower location itself, when some are from the ship museum down the street (on the Deep Valley ship) and I believe other pictures are from a third location that we did not visit. For the most part, the tower is simply an observation tower. $8.50 per adult ticket was reasonable for what it is. There are two outdoor viewing platforms at the top (upper and lower) with an indoor viewing area in between, where you can watch ships passing through the locks. We enjoyed the views from the various viewing areas. There is a minimal amount of “museum” type displays in the building to see as well. The tickets will get you a small discount at the ship museum down the road, and possibly at other nearby attractions.

The Tower of History is an absolute must-visit in Sault Ste. Marie! The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking — you can see the St. Mary’s River, the Soo Locks, parts of downtown, and even Canada across the border. The elevator ride up is quick, and once at the top, you get a peaceful, open-air view that’s perfect for photos. The museum inside also gives a nice glimpse into the local history and culture. A great stop whether you’re exploring the area or just passing through — especially on a clear day when the views are unbeatable.

Such a cool place to visit. I enjoyed learning about the history of it. The stairs are not for the weak, once you start the only way is up or down, thankfully there's a elevator. The views from both viewing areas is AMAZING! A great way to get a good view of the city and the river.
Will M — Google review
When my girlfriend and I visited in late July, we were saddened to learn the elevator was under repair. We had a Soo Locks cruise to catch, and we didn't have time to climb 292 stairs up and down, but we were delighted to see that the elevator was up and running on our recent teip this past Labor Day weekend! The history was amazing, and the views were astounding! The gentleman at the admissions counter was friendly and humorous, and this made for a wonderful experience before we made our way back home!

Very interesting atea history and stories about the Catholic Church. INCREDIBLE views! Five adults costed $42.50 but it was worth it! Took wonderful pictures and were even able to see ships come in the river. Windy! Watch your hat!
Rene J — Google review
The Tower of History offer a 360° view of the town and is next to the locks so you can watch ships traverse it ye lake leading into the lock. There is a few to go up in the viewing area.
Robert B — Google review
The Tower of History in Sault Ste. Marie offers stunning views from two observation platforms—if you can handle the 292-step climb (elevator was broken!). Inside: a short film about the town, fascinating birch peel artifacts, restrooms, and a guest book to sign. Admission is $8.

Restaurant
Zorba’s Greek American Restaurant is a charming, family-owned eatery located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, where the warm and inviting diner-style atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for casual dining. This delightful restaurant specializes in an array of Greek-American dishes that cater to all tastes, from mouthwatering gyros and souvlaki to hearty pizzas and burgers.
Small Greek restaurant connected to the Alpha bar next door, and serving classic Greek dishes and pizza. My Gyro with fries was very tasty. The pita bread was folded around a good portion of shaved & grilled gyro meat, tomato, onion, and crunchy romaine lettuce. I had a side of fries that were crispy and hot - perfectly cooked. Friendly service. Good place to eat Greek food with friends.
Patrick C — Google review
We got a complimentary piece of carrot cake because the wait for the food was so long (which we didn’t mind at all) and it was the best carrot cake I’ve ever had. I got a Mediterranean chicken pita and we got a pizza, both were meh! Waitress was super nice though. Would come back for the cake alone if I’m ever in The Soo again.

Visiting the "SOO" in the U.P. in Michigan and decided the try Zorbas. Great decision on our part, stopped in for lunch before take ng a boat cruise. We started with the Greek fries, they were exceptional, my wife ordered a burger and really enjoyed it. I opted for the he lamb gyro, it was delicious, lots of shaved lamb, a nice tasiki and fresh lettuce , tomato and onion. Walked right in, no waiting. I highly recommend this Greek restaurant when visiting Saute Ste Marie!
Bob B — Google review
We were really impressed with how good the food was here since we have had quite a lot of Mediterranean food in various restaurants and were worried about being let down. I loved the texture of my Mousaka and it tasted scrumptious too, I don’t think I’d had something like that before and I highly recommend it. Unrelated but they have the comfiest booth ever, the seat was perfect, cushion wasn’t too hard or too soft, just the right amount!
Yamin C — Google review
he gryo was perfect. The breading was prefect which means filling. I skipped they're breading because I was already too full, but there was lots of meat and sauce. When we arrived, the restaurant has just filled in and the owner warned us there would be a wait unless we want to go to the attached bar. The bar was okay, but it was a bar. The bar music too loud for us, old people. We wanted to try the food. The food was amazing. Price was not bad for the amount of food we received. Friday night 6pm. I gave the atmosphere a 5 because it was a bar, not my cup of tea, so for being a bar it was a 5. My son ordered a burger which looked really, really large and he loved it.

Amazingly fresh Greek food ,which was very flavorful. Although I don't usually eat meat I got the combo with chicken soulvaki, greek salad, tzazeki, small spinach and cheese pies. The only problem seems to be that they do run out of items. Other than that, highly recommended at a reasonable price: combo was$16.95 and they do have a vegetarian version
Cynthia A — Google review
The gyros were really good . Very large with enough meat in it to actually taste and then some. Very generous. Fries are excellent too. Now the waitress Jen K oh boy sorry but she was attentive and also made us laugh we sat outside no she didn't forget about either. The only downside is that the table rocked. Didn't bother me but my wife hates rocking tables lol. Great place will go again next time we get up there
Dave J — Google review
First time here... We started out with an order of pita chips. These were cooked to perfection and were served with a side of amazing cucumber dip of some sort. They were absolutely delicious! For our meal we ordered the Greek salad and the house specialty pizza. The salad I would definitely order again. But personally I would not order the pizza again just for the fact it's a thicker crusted pizza which I don't prefer (it's my personal preference that's all). Otherwise the pizza had good flavor. It appeared our waiter was the only one waiting tables, answering the phone as well as running out the food orders.

Clyde's Drive-In, nestled near the Sugar Island ferry dock in Sault Ste. Marie, is a delightful gem that combines classic drive-in fare with stunning views of freighters passing by. This beloved spot boasts a menu filled with mouthwatering burgers and crispy onion rings that leave patrons raving about their meals. One enthusiastic visitor even rode 500 miles just to savor the flavors at Clyde's!
Super busy place for good reason, the shakes are amazing and I loved the chili. My favorites! Super friendly staff. Thank You!

Great burgers, I prefer over west pier. However the Saint Ignace location is much better. The malts are ok here, and onion rings a bit over cooked. But the star of the show Big C was amazing. A must stop when in town.
Lawrence L — Google review
Drive in restaurant with a dine-in. They come right up to you and you can order with them, very convenient. They also have outdoor seating for those who fancy it. For the menu you have your classics, cheeseburgers, baskets, sandwiches etc. The burgers were overcooked but better safe than sorry. Depending on the time it can take 30+ mins. The chili was good, you can see everything being made right near the window and they have one restroom in the back of the restaurant.

We're from NC and drove all the way up here to try this place out! Didn't disappoint!! So, darn good!! Such a cool experience and cool location to eat, and the food was great! Definitely need to come check this place out! Totally worth the drive!
Chris D — Google review
The eat in area is very cozy, service is great and food was delicious. Their food is simple, but it really is well done! Best mushroom and Swiss burger I've ever had. The fries are good as are the other sides like the fried mushrooms and onion rings. ***They actually accept credit cards here unlike the Clyde's in St Ignace which is a huge deal for me*** in the year of our Lord 2025, credit cards should be accepted at all locations! We came out for a three day trip and ate here twice because it was that good!
Meghan J — Google review
Best burger in the Soo. Worth the wait. Cheese curds were pretty darn good, onion rings were good as well. Don’t forget a chocolate shake. Wished I would have done the 1-2 lb burger instead of the 1/4. Watching freighters go by is cool.
Randy C — Google review
We stopped at Clyde’s Drive-Thru and were so glad we did. This place is a gem! I had a small cherry shake, my wife went with the butterscotch, and we both enjoyed hamburgers with fries. Everything was delicious and hit the spot. The staff was fast, friendly, and paid great attention to detail—something that really stood out. We chose to eat outside, which made the experience even better. We must’ve shown up at just the right time because the crowd and atmosphere were perfect. If you’re looking for a good ole-fashioned burger and fries with a side of charm, this is the spot. Don’t miss it!

Quick service. Great food. Sit down at table (indoors or outdoors) and be served. Or you can stay in your vehicle and be served.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Cup of the Day. This charming coffee house and deli prides itself on serving food that is simple, fresh, wholesome, and visually appealing. Their menu boasts an array of vegetarian sandwiches, homemade soups, specialty options, and vibrant entree salads. A standout dish is their Michigan cherry salad—an enticing mix of greens topped with cashews, Traverse City cherries, feta cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette.
Good coffee and good food right in downtown Sault Ste Marie. When I'm in the mood for a panni pressed cornbeef sandwich Cup of the Day is my go to. Plus the coffee shop is just a half block from a cute pocket park where you can enjoy your food and watch the world go round.

Not sure why it has taken me so long to stop here for lunch! Ordered a large to order today for my staff and everything was great. I will definitely be back and will send all of our guests here as well. Forgot to m take pictures as everyone was to busy devouring their sandwiches 😅Truly a hidden gem in the Soo. I can see why they have been around forever.

Classic U.P lunch! This place has character and some REAL characters. It's been open 25 years so Tony is doing something right! Italian Wedding Soup is one of them!!

As we were driving around looking for food, we spotted this adorable place! I had a great conversation with the owner, and talked about how they have stayed in business for so long, and how they are working hard to survive the pandemic. The food was exactly what I wanted! This was our first time here, and we felt like regulars! We took our food to go since we had our dogs with us. The bread was delicious, the sandwiches hit the spot perfectly! We didn't have any coffee, but I heard amazing things from others inside about how good it was! I was so glad we randomly decided to stop here for a bite!

Lunch after a long drive. We were hoteling near by and needed a quick bite. This was perfect little spot. We had a larger than normal order and the girl handled our order perfectly. I got a club and the meat was piled on! Thank you. We spent about 50 for our lunch for 3.

Had to search for the bacon on my peppered chicken and bacon wrap. My wife's chicken salad was served on lettuce that was turning black in large spots. A nice place and nice folks but there are better choices for lunch in Sault Ste. Marie.

Ate the best breakfast bagels in my life here, along with a delicious plain cappuccino. On another visit, I had the peppered chicken BLT wrap. Every sandwich is made fresh and on the spot. This was delicious. The kiddo also enjoyed her chai tea.

Italian restaurant
Arturo Ristorante is a charming Italian dining spot located in downtown Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. The restaurant offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with a compact menu featuring chef's specials and a snug bar stocked with an array of wines. Owned by Chris and Tom Comegna, the restaurant has gained popularity for its authentic Italian cuisine, reflecting the owners' passion for food.
Absolutely delicious! Baja shrimp, gnocchi, ravioli, caprese, wine, cocktails… wow! We have a lot of friends in hockey who travel from Ottawa up to the sault and all they can talk about is the food in the Sault! Being from there, it makes me really proud when people come to my hometown and are absolutely blown away by our Italian restaurants. When I mention, my cousin got married at Arturo, of course it was “We love Arturo!!” My only complaint is we don’t have an Arturo in Ottawa! :)
Cris M — Google review
Our first time at Arturo's was a celebration for my mother's birthday. At our request, they were able to tuck us away in a semi-private space at the back of the restaurant. Our server was the co-owner Thomas. He was fun, very attentive and made a lot of time for us, without being intrusive. The food was excellent. They offered a steak and pasta special that I'm still thinking about. It was a Friday night and the place was buzzing with an active, but not too distracting atmosphere. Highly recommended. We will definitely go back.

After days of traveling from Vancouver Island, I was craving a truly satisfying meal — and Arturo Ristorante delivered beyond my expectations. I called ahead, a little worried that my road-weary, disheveled look might not fit the atmosphere, but the host immediately put me at ease, kindly telling me, “Don’t worry, there’s no dress code — just come in and enjoy yourself.” That set the tone perfectly. I took a seat at the bar, and enjoy myself I did. With eight stunning pasta options on the menu, I couldn’t choose just one. Luckily, my bartender Tom — as gracious and hospitable as he was gorgeous — suggested a split order and guided me toward his personal favorites. Best advice ever. The chefs are absolute wizards. The homemade pasta and sauces were so exquisite they nearly brought me to tears — truly one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had. I ended with the tiramisu, a dessert that managed to be both rich and airy at the same time, the perfect finish. What a heavenly spot. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you, for such a beautiful experience.

Started us out with bruschetta and olive tapenade which was good! We weren’t that hungry but wanted to come here. We shared the calamari and mussels in white wine both were good. We had an arugula salad which we had them switch from blue cheese to goat cheese (very accommodating). Salad was good but lacking something…they didn’t give us the pine nuts nor did they substitute or ask. Anyways, they did take some money off after I asked. Why did I have to ask??

We, a group of 7 out-of-towners who had just rolled into town after an 8 hour drive happened to stumble upon this restaurant on Sept 15. We did not have a reservation, and Tom the owner, offered us bar seating. If we were ok with it. We were glad to take that offer, and were not disappointed. Tom looked after us from start to finish, and went out of his way to make us our personal cocktails based on our preferences! Even showed us the longest pepper mill he had :) Amazing food and most of all awesome service! Thank you for taking care of us Tom!

Stopped here during our drive from Calgary to Toronto. Best meal on the trip. We were greeted and seated right away. The service was excellent from start to finish. The meals, from starters to deserts were incredible. Not a single missed step. Some very creative dishes. Sault St. Marie is lucky to have a spot like this. If you're anywhere near this establishment, go pay a visit, you will not regret it! Thank you!

An unexpected elegant twist - absolutely do not judge a book by its cover! (Only reason I rated 4-stars for Atmosphere) A very unassuming and simple exterior in the downtown area. Small but very very good. Making reservations might be a good idea. I travel for business and stumbled across this spot - I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to experience this awesome Italian cuisine! Food all tasted great! Very nice atmosphere.
Duke D — Google review
The food is quite good but the service was absolutely abysmal. I didn’t catch the waitresses name but she was a slim brunette 20 something who has no business doing that job. She was utterly horrendous and is a liability to a place that is otherwise quite good (albeit overpriced for the quality). They had started her off as the bartender and then had her waiting tables. She does not belong in the service industry. Absolutely terrible.
