1-day itinerary
With only 1 day to squeeze in as much activities as you can, we strategically grouped the must-sees, South Plains Mall and Walmart Supercenter with surrounding point of interests to make sure you don’t leave Lubbock without getting the most bang for your time. Combining the average time spent at each location and traveling time in between, it should fill up about 7 hours of your day.

Shopping mall

Restaurant
South Plains Mall is a large shopping center in Lubbock that offers a variety of department stores, brand-name fashion retailers, casual dining options, and a multiplex cinema. The mall provides a decent selection of national and international brands for food, clothing, and technology. It features a carousel for entertainment and has a premiere movie theater to enhance the overall experience. Visitors can enjoy the spacious layout and cleanliness of the mall while exploring the diverse range of shops available.
Good place, everything is overpriced tho, and I wish there were more shops. Also could use a little more decoration and child area could be upgraded, love the train, love the amount of game stores! Especially dragon store, very nice, knives look cool, decent pricing, they could use sturdier metal tho, I've broken the blades a couple times.

This really used to be a place one could spend hours in, just wasting the day on silly things. Many stores have closed now, and the business feels barren, cold. When I first visited Lubbock almost 18 years ago now I visited the mall with my husband to walk around and enjoy the day. There were the usual kiosks that still exist, but so much more business and people everywhere. Now you get accosted by kiosk venders desperate to sell whatever they have, even if the items are cheaper at the main shop not 10 feet away. It’s sad to see it fall to this level, especially remembering the arcade that was always a hot spot that now has nothing but closed doors. The prices are obscene. It’s just not got a soul anymore. The only shop I’d say I really had a good time at recently was the knockoff store. It’s good for a few laughs, but the prices on things are so obscene it’s not worth shopping in.
Jamie N — Google review
What they've done to this mall over the years has really helped this mall stay modern and bright and welcoming. I love malls, they're weirdly a 3rd space for teens and young adults. While a lot of the boutiques that have opened up there in the past few years are not at all geared towards me, it's still nice to see a mall that doesn't actively appear to be dying!
Josh R — Google review
It’s a decent mall. Needs better stores. Gets real busy to the point it’s over whelming and you can’t even think straight or look at anything. Lubbock is a very growing city, they should consider building another mall so the amount of people can split up a little bit.
Nick — Google review
This place is huge and it has a lot to choose from. It is in a good area too! There are lots of things for kids to do, if you bring the 💰💰 I would also like to say that compared to many of the Businesses I’ve been to in Lubbock, this mall is exceptionally clean👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Walking 🚶 🚶‍♀️the mall gives you lots of exercise for sure!! It is on all other parts just another mall, so I find it hard to review more.
Andrea B — Google review
5 stars because holy nostalgia. How this place is still kicking is an unsolved mystery. Overall it’s clean, shops are plentiful, and you don’t feel like you’re part of an apocalyptic type movie.
Kyle H — Google review
No-frills shopping destination that serves as a welcome escape from the scorching West Texas heat. The mall is pretty standard, housing around 150 (best guess) stores, including anchors like Dillard’s, JCPenney, and H&M, alongside typical retail chains like American Eagle, Hot Topic, and Zumiez. You’ll find the usual suspects for casual dining too—Chick-fil-A, The Cheesecake Factory, and Olive Garden are solid options, with a food court that covers basics like pizza and boba tea from Gong Cha. Nothing here screams unique or cutting-edge, but it gets the job done if you need new clothes, a quick gift, or a bite to eat. The addition of Premiere Cinemas & IMAX and a carousel adds a bit of family-friendly flair, though I didn’t check those out this time. Clean, functional, and pleasantly chilly—sometimes that’s all you need. Rating: 3.2/5 – Basic but air-conditioned bliss in a hot Texas summer.
Ryan H — Google review
The only one in Lubbock! Great selections too! You will not spend most of your time knowing what you really want as everything in there is laid out in your eyes as far as a scanner can see.

Walmart Supercenter is a fantastic option for those seeking budget-friendly shopping in Lubbock. This store stands out with its extensive range of products, from groceries to household essentials, making it an ideal one-stop destination for locals. While some shoppers noted that the layout felt a bit off and the produce section was smaller than expected, they were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and organization of the store.
Came here to brag about one of the door greeters, Virginia. We absolutely adore her! She's so happy, sweet, and caring. My 4 year old (and myself) gets so excited when we're walking in and see her. She always gives my kid stickers and listens to her stories while conversing with her. They even exchange hugs some days. When I think of walmart I think of people like her, warm and welcoming. Like you're coming home to visit for the holidays. ♥️

I’m uber driver . So I’m picking up 3 orders for 3 different customers from Walmart pickup. I pull up too the pick-up area. Guy comes outs . I give him the number. He told me I wasn’t suppose get out my car and I didn’t know that. Because other Walmart 702 w loop 289. Didn’t tell me that . When picking up orders for 3 different customers. He said he can’t put it in there because I don’t have dividers. Well I didn’t know that. Also even I had dividers. How am I supposed to know which groceries go where if they don’t have stickers on them. I wanted to talk to Manager so I got a fulfillment team lead Manager and I told her what happened. She said he did right thing and I should be reported. Well you need to report other Walmart they didn’t follow that rule. Of tell me to stay my car and I need dividers. She act like she didn’t give shit. I’m just picking up orders for customers that’s all.

After doing business with them for 8 years they changed policy on how they handled business and then wanted me to rat out their employees who had been doing business against their new policy. Shady business practice and shadier management. Sure the ceo loves them though. Did a great job of making a simple errand much more difficult

Pretty good selection on last minute accessories. Definitely something for everyone if you decide to take the whole family. A lot of open checkout lines so can’t complain there. Walmart is definitely with the rift this season

I recently visited the Walmart in Lubbock and was pleased to find the store clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. However, my experience at the money transfer service was marred by Theresa Perez's subpar customer service. Specifically, I was disappointed when she: - Kept my ID after verifying it - Canceled and restarted the transaction, including re-entering my phone number, when I asked to increase the amount to cover overseas fees - Refused to shred the confirmation paper and instead stapled it to the final receipt - Asked if I was happy after I'd already spoken to her manager about my concerns Unfortunately, her attitude and lack of customer service skills left a negative impression. I hope that the store will take steps to address these issues and provide better training for employees like her.

Online ordering here is a nightmare. Just received an Xbox controller with holes in the box as if whoever had to go pick it up was having a really bad day. There's no option to replace the item only refund and since I used a card I do not want to gamble with a 5-day return window I need my controller now. Headed into the store to waste precious time thank you. Controller is listed cheaper online than in store in person which is the only reason only only reason I used online to begin with. Predatory

Things seem to be out of place. The store felt backward. Produce department was very small. Missing lots of items off the shelves. Staff was friendly and bathrooms seemed recently cleaned. The staff member in the photo, Korina was very helpful in finding things that seem to be out of their normal locations. Just very deliteful and knowledgeable. A real gem for Walmart. Bowling alley
Children's party service
Main Event Lubbock, situated in Texas, is a spacious venue featuring party rooms and offering a range of entertainment options such as bowling, laser tag, mini-golf, and an arcade. It also serves American fare. Located off U.S. 62 Marsha Sharp Freeway between Loop 289 and Milwaukee Avenue, it's the ultimate birthday destination with innovative experiences including over 100 classic and modern games to play. The professional-level bowling alley is perfect for weekend nights out.
I ordered a hamburger 🍔 to go and it was better than some of the burger places. (Most ill say) I ordered it > just make it the way you guys do. Nothing custom, just main events way. Dammit, it was good 👍. It had lots of French fries, I just couldn't help but eating before picture.

The place is really cool. It is open and everything appeared to be in good working condition. My problem with this place is there is staff everywhere just standing around talking and goofing off. No one seems to actually work. We also were given no explanation of how pricing or anything worked. We purchased 1 hour of bowling and 3 games of mini golf. If we had known to ask for wrist bands it would have been a lot cheaper. Staff doesn't tell you that. They just offer a receipt with a tip line. Why am I going to tip on an hour of bowling and 3 games of mini golf? There isn't even anyone manning the mini golf. Who would even get the tip? There is a sign at the start of mini golf that said the winner gets a free game card. Of course there is never anyone back there and no guidance on where to get it from. The bathrooms are truly awful. If staff was running around and constantly busy and the bathrooms were bad that might be excusable, but staff and management are standing around just talking. I spoke briefly with the operations manager and I can tell from just the brief conversation that it is a management issue. The customer experience does not seem to matter to him at all. We will probably stick with Dave and Busters and avoid this Main Event.

We went to had dinner last Friday night we were a big group (15) and since we got there the server got an attitude. The family restaurant tables were empty. Anyways she finally got us a table. She charged us for an extra entree that we didn’t ask. Also I asked for caesar salad she told me that was just a side plate, I said it’s fine. When I got the salad had egg on it. No where I ever seen a caesar salad with egg on it. Obviously I didn’t like it. When I got the bill I got charged with a house salad, she said was the same but according to the menu side salad 4.99 and house salad 9.99. It’s not about the extra $5 or the extra entree added to the bill. Its more about the unwelcome feeling and poor service. This was our first time here and we got very disappointed.

First time here and front desk employee named Drea was helpful! Will be back here once we come back to Lubbock. Lazer tag is $12 per person, included with a two story course and 8 minute rounds.

Oh yea!!! 100% recommend. I'm late 40's and never had so much fun. We did it all. The bowling, the hot pizza, the really cool cotton candy machine, the arcade play. (We got an awesome bear for memories with game play) . The neat glow in dark neon put put, most of all the laser tag. I did laser yah more than once cause it was so much fun. Pretty much did everything except play pool. Our waitress was super busy though. I don't think they should have given her so many tables.

Market Street at 19th and Quaker is a well-equipped establishment that provides excellent services in catering, floral arrangements, and bakery products for special occasions like weddings. The team led by Robyn is highly efficient in handling food preparations, which are not only tasty but also of superior quality. The flowers are beautifully crafted and arranged with great care. The cake is exceptionally impressive, leaving everyone amazed. Every individual involved in making the event memorable exhibits kindness and professionalism.
Hidden fact: Try using their street-side depot. It is extremely convenient and saves me lots of time. The service is fantastic. Every time I preordered everything and drove through to pick them up. More importantly they offer online 10% conditional discounts meaning over 50 minus 10 or similar. U cannot use it in store. One more trick is to toggle on the clip coupon using their membership card every time so you can save extra:)

Manager is a horrible, wretched person, I have never had such a horrible experience with what is supposed to be a leading figure for this market street. I cannot bring myself to shop here or any other market street if this is the standards they have for their leaders. Manager was stuck up, disrespectful, and dare I say, just evil.

Bridge out front was really romantic for me and my hubby. Sadly, the locals weren’t as welcoming. Otherwise, they have really good milks, as pictured below. I would suggest going at 3am, that’s when it’s the most alive!

Love this place!!! Anything you need, they probably have it! This is the only place I can find a certain lunchmeat that I eat! Prices can be a little bit high, but, its worth it. Very friendly staff. Clean store!

One of the main reasons I like this market street is because it is open 24 hours. Im a college student so my man will drop me off while he works and I'll sit there for a few hours and get my work done. I like to get something from their deli or their sushi with a drink. I spent less than $15 for a meal. Their set up is a little confusing sometimes I have a hard time finding certain things such as snacks. Their bread is in a weird area too

I had 16 items they would let me use self check out because there's a 15 item limit. Social anxiety is debilitating and having to be confronted Everytime I grocery shop is a huge no. Worst thing is it's only been the last two times I went. I'm not coming here anymore because I'm not going to risk a public panic attack, I put my shit back and went with 14 items.

Pho District 1 is a family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in Lubbock, Texas that has been serving authentic dishes since 2022. Visitors praise the good service, food, and atmosphere. The owner's attentive and friendly approach adds to the dining experience. Customers recommend trying various pho options such as seafood, oxtail, spicy, and meatball pho. The restaurant is described as clean and pleasing with an enjoyable atmosphere.
I was passing through Lubbock wondering if they had Pho, had a craving, and this was the place I picked and im glad I did too! Great service, great food, the pho tastes so homemade; it was absolutely awesome and took me by surprise! Will definitely come back and recommend to everyone passing through Lubbock. Owner Brian came out and checked on me even and asked how everything was, very chill sincere guy. 100/100 from me!

Very small and cute place. The staff is very welcoming and the atmosphere is very nice with the music they have going in the background. It’s not too loud, so you can enjoy some slight conversation as well. The pho was delicious. My first time trying it and I ordered the Pho Special/Pho Dac Biet. Definitely want to go back and try the Pho Seafood Combination/Pho Hai San!

Order pho on your own. Vegetables served were not fresh and very little. Mung bean sprouts have funky smell and basal was nonsense to eat. Pho supposed to have three kind of meats as I order but I have only one piece flank but all brisket. Brisket have funky smell while I chow. It may prepared for a long time before I order. I will not recommend this place.

This was our first time eating at Pho District 1. When you first walk in, it is a very busy place. We got seated right away. Our waitress was very prompt. Our food was ordered correctly, and the food came out really fast for a busy place. In my opinion, the food was very flavorful, and the beef was very tender. I will definitely be returning to this place! I will attach pictures of what we ordered, which are: B1. Bun Thit Bo Nuong- Rice Vermicelli with grilled beef & CC2. Com Chiên Thịt Bò- Fried rice with tenderloin beef

I’m posting this review on both Google and Yelp, as I’m not sure which platform the restaurant uses. 1. Our experience with our server was extremely disappointing. She was unprofessional, inattentive, and dismissive throughout our visit. I requested chili oil several times, but she kept bringing only a very small amount. It wasn’t until the end of the meal—after about a ten-minute wait—that she finally provided a reasonable portion. After we paid, we asked for a receipt, but she walked away, and we had to ask another server to assist us instead. 2. The fried rice was very underwhelming—it was essentially plain white rice with no egg or vegetables, even though we paid extra for it. Additionally, when I received the raw beef for my pho, the pieces were extremely small, almost like scraps from the bottom of a container. The pho itself is good, but I’ve noticed they tend to provide larger portions when you order takeout compared to dining in. 3. We were also charged for chili oil and another item that we didn’t order. Thankfully, the owner resolved the issue promptly and refunded us in cash, which is the only reason this review is two stars instead of one. Overall, while the pho tastes great, the service and food quality during this visit were unacceptable for the price. I appreciate the owner addressing the billing issue, but I hope management takes steps to improve both customer service and consistency in food preparation.
Sofia S — Google review
I stopped by this place for dinner with family while staying in the area for a few days, and I'm happy I did! The food here is delicious and fairly priced. You have the option of ordering pho with your own custom selection of up to 3 meats, which I went with - I ordered the custom pho with brisket and meatballs (pic attached). What I liked here is that they gave us each the perfect amount of beansprouts and other additions on the side; many other pho locations often pile on the beansprouts, and we may not use them all. Though, I'm sure you could ask for more here if you wanted! Our server, Mori, was super nice and friendly, which we appreciated, and the place overall had a warm, quiet atmosphere. This place is also located near a Market Street, making it convenient to go shopping right after having lunch or dinner. While we aimed to visit different places each day while we were in the city, we found ourselves wanting to visit this restaurant again by the end of our trip. Would highly recommend!
Alex K — Google review
That was the veggie portion I received with my pho. When I asked the server for more, he said there would be an extra charge—but gave me a tiny bowl at no cost. However, the owner came by to check on the booth behind me, SKIPPED over me entirely, and then went to the booth in front of me to ask how everything was. This was my first and last visit. If you want amazing pho with a generous portion of veggies, take a trip to Houston! Even Dallas has better pho than this place.
Haley P — Google review
Everything was good and perfect. My nephew ordered wings and rice, he was happy with the flavor and the crunch. I had Ox Tail and that in itself was incredible. Now I don't know if he was the owner, but a man came to our table and spoke with and mixed some sauce to add to my soup. Well anyways, he was very kind and cool to where he ordered us a couple of spring rolls. And I would go again. Sadly won't be able to till another vacation but I would definitely return.

Donut shop
Longtime chain serving a variety of donut flavors & shapes, plus coffee & frozen drinks.
I haven’t been here in years, but I had to try the new cheesecake donuts (this was a couple months back already). They were so good I ate em all in one sitting! Yes you’ll get sick, but also yes, it’s worth it. The only con is that the prices are quite a bit higher than some of the local donut shops. Still this place is nostalgic and brings back childhood memories!

I’d stop as soon as I’d fly into LBB, before reaching my relatives home for Glazed Raspberry Filled donuts. They used to be oozing with raspberry filling, which is why I’d make it my first stop, even tho I have a KK in the town next to mine which I will not go to. Y’all have fallen by the KK wayside! If there was a teaspoon of raspberry filling in Glazed Raspberry “Filled” I’d be surprised! I will never stop or spend my money there ever again to which my husband is thankful, because I’d drive him crazy with insisting on buying donuts before getting to our destination. Plus, the price is outrageous considering the quality. So long Krispy Kreme LBB! Pic shows how I ate my donuts before throwing the rest away. I bought 1/2 dozen but decided to post review when only 3 were left.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$! If I could give a “no star” I would. Spent almost $5 for hard and squished donut dots. I should have known when the guy grabbed a pre-package small cup of dots, that they were going to be horrible. Sure enough I got random number of 11donut dots crammed in a small cup. The dots were old, the glaze on them was starting to separate from the dot causing them to be soggy. The powdered ones were hard. Never again!!! 👎🏻

Krispy Kreme needs to fire everyone! We ordered at the drive thru. Whomever took our order didn't tell anyone our order. We got to the window and were greeted by another employee with an attitude. We repeated our order to him and he got it wrong. He then got angry because he had to fix it. The donuts were not even worth hassle. Shameful behavior. Zero work ethic and no pride in the product. Gross!
Hella H — Google review
I walked to Krispy Kreme not once but twice they still had fresh donuts coming off the line. After purchasing both times and finding out they had given me cold donuts I asked if I could have fresh ones. They refused both times. Saying nope they can't . Wouldn't even give me a reason either. Both times they had hundreds of fresh donuts still coming off the line. This was at the Lubbock tx location. Horrible horrible customer service.
Domenek — Google review
Don’t ask them when they serve fresh donuts unless you want a snarky, “When the light is on”, for an answer. I get it’s early, you probably get asked that a lot, and maybe some people don’t know about the light. But I asked nicely after waiting in the parking lot 15 minutes after they opened to turn the light on because I was mistaken thinking they made them fresh right when they opened. They make them fresh at 7:00am btw. And during other times in the day but I can’t remember the rest of what I was told the second time they answered. Still the best donuts around tho.
Defined R — Google review
The donuts are always delicious. However, the employees are NOT welcoming nor are they even pleasant. They act like they don’t want to be there. I got my coffee long after our donuts were eaten. It’s Sunday morning, they were out of so many varieties, coffee was out and had to be brewed. Very unprepared. We will not be back.
Jeanne M — Google review
Brought the family for a hot fresh famous Krispy Creme. Customer service was not good or friendly. They overcharged us for our order and had to correct my refund to my card. I asked for a hot donut and they refused. A very poor example for the franchise. The cleanliness of the store was also not good.

Fast food restaurant
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is a fast-food establishment that specializes in crispy chicken tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and toasted bread from Texas. It is widely regarded as the top choice for chicken and toast among all fast food chains. Unfortunately, it is not currently available in Pennsylvania. To fully enjoy their offerings, one should order the 3-piece combo with an additional three servings of sauce. The sauce perfectly complements the succulent chicken strips and leaves customers wanting more.
Claudia was FANTASTIC! The food was amazing, and she made us feel like we were in a great family environment. She went above and beyond for us and all 8 of us wanted to say, "THANK YOU",YOU'RE THE BEST"!

Extremely disappointed with my recent order from this place. I visited on 7/18 and spent $21 on meals for my girlfriend and myself. Both our boxes had significantly smaller chicken fingers than usual. The portion size was noticeably reduced, which was very disappointing considering the price. The quality didn't match the cost, and we experienced rude customer service from the woman working the window. Our experience was far from satisfactory.

Never had an issue but my pregnant daughter found a piece of hair inside her chicken while eating she no longer had an appetite after

I love this place! Great staff! Great food ! Always super fast at getting our food. All around awesome

Chicken strips need more seasoning, you have to use sauce for them to taste good. Fries are okay.

Foods really good, I've gotten my chicken a little cold once, but other than that it's been fresh.

Literally the worst canes in town. They never get my order right. Ever. And the drive through always just tells me my total and to pay at the first window after I say my first item like I don’t need to order more things. ALSO THE FRIES ARE BARELY COOKED. like 2 seconds in the fryer. The worst fries in town.

The Double Nickel Steakhouse in Lubbock, known as one of the best steakhouses in Texas, offers a modern saloon-style setting where patrons can enjoy a variety of delectable dishes. From juicy ribeye and tender chateaubriand to flavorful steak au poivre and farm-raised salmon, there is something for everyone's taste. The menu also features Australian lobster, bass, and rack of lamb.
We are here for the first time this past weekend. Carter was our server and was wonderful! He talked us through the menu and made excellent recommendations for every course! The crab stuffed mushrooms were cheesy, full of crab, and perfectly cooked, our only complaint was that they’re weren’t enough of them at only 4 pieces. We each had the double nickel salad which was fresh and dressings were tasty. We also both ordered the steak au poivre, steaks were cooked as requested medium rare, a good size at 14 oz each and the creamed corn was a standout. The bananas foster for dessert because who doesn’t want their dessert to be lit on fire! Overall a great experience! We won’t have many reasons to be in Lubbock again in the near future but Dpubel Nickel will be top of the list for when we are in town!

My family and I went for my birthday. It was so perfect. The ambience was so nice. Fantastic martinis. Amazing steaks! We also loved the bananas foster! It is one of the best restaurants in Lubbock.

I wish I could score this place higher. The staff are always amazing and the food is well worth the price. We've spent several special occasions here and definitely intend on coming back for another. I highly recommend the steaks as they're cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The staff are great at making you feel at home and taking care of every little thing you could need.

Had to share how sweet our server was. Our son has nonverbal autism and we had never taken him to a nice restaurant. Oscar was over the top understanding and helpful. He did everything to make sure he was taken care of and made little accommodations to help him. The food is good, but the server was really above and beyond. We appreciate his kindness and care!

We went for our anniversary and it was amazing! Easily the best place I have eaten in Lubbock. Great food, amazing service. The staff did a great job of making sure everything was up to our standards.

The food was delicious! The service was amazing and respectful! The atmosphere was dim and intimate! Music was romantic and at good volume. The new York strip was tasty and seasoned to perfection. I wish I had room to try the bananas foster, but we will definitely get it next time! The complimentary martini was delicious! We had a very pleasant experience, I look forward to returning in the near future! Highly recommend 10/10! **Just a heads up, men aren't allowed to wear caps inside and the online price menu is not up to date.

We took our son here for his 15th birthday. If requested they will acknowledge your birthday. Our waiter forgot so we don’t know they do. Make sure to remind them. I ordered the Double Nickel salad. It was tart, but if you like sweet tasting salad it was good. We order crab stuffed mushrooms and they were phenomenal. Lots of yummy sauce to enjoy. We ordered the Bananas Foster. They lit it at the table. It was fun to watch and delicious. The establishment definitely makes you feel like you need to dress up and act “proper”. However, I did see people in shorts and casual wear. The hey only enforce the “no hat” policy. Wear your Sunday best! The prices were through the roof so it’s definitely a special occasion experience for the working class.

We made reservations for my son’s birthday for 5:30 on 9/23. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We ordered the bacon shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms. Both appetizers were delicious. For my entree, I got the ribeye “double nickel” style topped with lump crab and shrimp with spinach rockefeller and sautéed mushrooms. My steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were delectable. But the best part of our evening was the bananas foster! Not only was it the flambé fun to watch, but the dessert was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. It was a night to remember, and a great way to celebrate a birthday. We had a good time!
