Nestled in the heart of Lubbock, the Cast Iron Grill is a cherished local gem that specializes in Southern-style breakfast and lunch. Since its inception in 2007 by owner Teresa Stephens, this cozy eatery has become synonymous with hearty meals and delightful homemade pies. Imagine starting your day with a slice of their famous Jack Daniels-infused pecan pie or indulging in a creamy coconut cream pie—it's an experience that truly elevates breakfast to new heights!
I would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant, especially if you’re from out of town like we are the chicken fried steak and chicken tender meal was to die for everything was freshly made. Sweet tea was super good honestly one of the best sweet teas I’ve ever tasted in my life.!! our waitress was super sweet and made us feel welcome. Not out of place even though you can tell we were not from here. LOL I definitely recommend to try the desserts as well and to grab it as soon as you get seated because once you are done with your dinner. They will most likely not be any left lol that’s how good it is.!

I went for lunch and it was really busy. I had the chicken fried steak and let me tell you, it was one of the best I've ever had! I picked the green Chile and it was so good! The macaroni and cheese was not your average macaroni and cheese,it was the real deal homemade type. I would definitely recommend this place but come early! Oh and save room for dessert!

Spectacular Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. Breading was bar none the best I've had in my 63 years. (Sorry Kelley's, & T-Bone Tom's). Great biscuits and very good gravy. Our server, Yasmin, was perfect, personable, and efficient. Decor was better than average.

As far as quality of food to the quality of service, Cast Iron Grill tops them all. In fat, the single biggest negative about this place is that they close so early in the day (2:00 pm). First of all, it’s a pretty easy to access location and there are loads of parking spots to choose from. But, beware, the lot is always full because of this place is always busy. They serve breakfast in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. The food is phenomenal and the service from the people is great. Everyone is super personable and always has a smile on their face. They do a great job at keeping this location clean. Overall, a great experience. You should decide to come eat here if you’re looking around. You’ll be glad that you did.

This was our first time trying cast iron! My daughter and I came in and sat down waited for over 5 minutes before anybody even brought us menus. The whole time I watched all of the waitress in there very short shorts ( not attractive ) make eye contact with us and still never came to our table. I started to get very irritated. Once We got our menus we were served and got our food in No time!! I was very hopeful because I have hurd good thing about this restaurant. But once we got our food I was still irritated and disappointed. My eggs and pancakes were good but my potatoes were cold and tasted old, my bacon was over cooked and hard as a rock! Very disappointing!

Everytime we go to Lubbock, we have to go here. The pies are to die for and we love the Chicken Fried Steak. Big portions and very flavorful as always.

My wife and I had lunch on September 25, 2025, and it was yummy as always! Don't let the jammed parking lot worry you because they are always super busy. We walked in and were immediately seated. Our appetizer was delivered quickly, as well as our entrees. They are just good at handling a large number of customers, but don't skimp on the quality of their food! It's just amazing how quickly they can serve such a volume of customers with top-notch service and good old home-cooked food! This is a place you need to put on your list of places to eat, especially if you like good food and GREAT DESERTS!!!! The norm is to eat and take a delicious dessert with you when you leave.

Some down-home cooked meals! Perfect and beer inexpensive. The waitresses were top notch! Wish I brought cash so I could tip them more!

Restaurant
The Nicolett in Lubbock is a culinary gem that pays homage to the city's history. Housed in a 1920s building, this family-owned restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with high-end flair. The multi-course menu features High Plains cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, expertly crafted by acclaimed Chef Finn Walter. The romantic courtyard entrance and former greenhouse turned private dining room add to the restaurant's charm.
What an amazing experience! The service staff will guide you through a taste testing journey that will blow your mind! From the lavender brioche bread service to the buttermilk pie dessert and all that's in-between you won't be disappointed! For grains the anogolotti pasta dish is a must!

This place is awesome. Got appetizers and 3 course meal. I had a couple of firsts for me as far as cheeses and ingredients, I love being able to say that. Cocktails were bomb if you like higher end cocktails that are balanced and have some unique flavors. Honestly if you’re from out of town you should check this place out. Even the coffee was amazing.

We where in town visiting our son at Tech. My wife picked this restaurant as it was recommended to her by a friend. The service and ambiance were excellent. We ordered the Ravioli, Bread, Charcuterie and the Crab as appetizers. All the portions were very small but everything had very good flavor. For the mains we ordered the Ribeye steaks(2) and the Lamb. The Lamb was ok. The steaks were terrible. They were chewy, cold and had no flavor whatsoever. I've never seen my 18 yesterday old soon leave food on his plate. My daughter and I were sharing the other steak and we only ate several pieces. Not so sure how can they screw up 2 steaks in the same serving. Anyhow, ended up taking the family afterwards to Chic fil A for milkshakes and and sandwiches as we were still hungry after spending 600 dollars at the Nicolett. Don't waste your time and money. You will be disappointed.

Went with my family today and the experience was worth it. The place has a unique charm, food was amazing and the service you cant ask for more. Old fashion was my favorite drink, is hard to pick a favorite dish the all were really good.
Dennys O — Google review
We were in Lubbock overnight. I’d never been there before so I asked my friend who visits family frequently where to go for dinner. I used to trust him implicitly, but now I’m really questioning our friendship after this recommendation. The building is really cool. Old, brick, tall ceilings. Awesome atmosphere. But, here’s the thing…it’s Thursday night at 530pm and there’s a happy hour advertised and the place is empty. Dead! Was expecting a lively college bunch, but just empty. We were there for a while and the place basically stayed empty. The food- some of the worst, dry, overpriced, depressing fare I’ve experienced in years of traveling state to state and country to country. Uninspiring, inedible and sadness provoking food. I’m begging you, please make food people like. Perfectly cooked cod needs a sauce and a starch and an identifiable vegetable. A small piece of fish with some onion that is hard and green seaweed stuff? That just makes me sad. Cold ravioli swimming in congealed butter elicits my gag reflex even as I’m writing this. Terrible. Wagyu tartar that lacks creaminess, richness and flavor makes me want to cry. Make food that people like, that people want, what they dream about. This is egregious.
Jolayne T — Google review
Update, December 2023: Still incredible. We had time for dessert at the end, and it was just as delicious as the other courses. Highly recommend the caramelized brioche (photos posted separately from review). ----- Original review, December 2022: We stopped in here before a 7:30 show at Buddy Holly Hall. 5:15 was a perfect arrival time to make it to the show comfortably. Our server, David, made sure to keep our plans in mind. The Nicolett serves 3-course meals with various choices for each courses, with the option to skip one or more courses. We had all three courses, bread service beforehand, plus cocktails. The waitstaff took excellent care of us during our visit. David was awesome (as were the rest of the staff) and the food was delicious and high-quality. This place is defintiely in my top 3 (maybe 1 or 2?) or so favorite restaurants in Lubbock.

Honestly amazing! The service was great, the food was amazing. I wanna go back and have more! Went with in-laws and had such a great time
Caity J — Google review
I had a great time here. My friend from Amarillo (where I live) mentioned the Chef was a James Beard Finalist. This is probably my favorite dining experience I've had in the Texas Panhandle. The food was very unique and creative, with a lot of personality. The staff was ubiquitous, helpful, well dressed and attentive. This is some of the best service I’ve had at any restaurant anywhere in a long time. Service in the Tx Panhandle is a missing art so it is refreshing to see an entrepreneur/artist who knows how to create it. The food was great. The agnolotti was probably our favorite dish but they were all great. We had the: Desert salad Agnolotti Brisket Lamb Antelope I also ordered the Yuca (not yucca, that’s the local agave looking thing) fries to get a few more carbs. Cocktails were great and so were the desserts (buttermilk pie and kakawa drink) The price point seems high but honestly, any fine dining pushes $80 per person at this point. For a bit more you get artistry and much more thought and intention. The portions were well sized as well. This was not a fine dining experience where you get 3 slices on a plate. The salad was very ample and was a great split with me and my gf. The mains were perhaps a bit small given our daily notions of size and quantity but with the butter and richness of everything else it still worked well. Another positive: I left feeling satiated and full but not queasy or overdone. I find so many fine dining experiences ply you with heavy wines and heavy food and sugar and you feel like your taste buds were used at the expense of your body. This was refreshingly not that experience. I felt the food was very flavorful but without being overbearing. Basically you could taste both the flavor as well as the restraint in the food which is rare. I’ll definitely be back

Restaurant
Spanky's is a popular hangout spot in Lubbock, known for its delicious burgers, sandwiches, and especially its fried cheese sticks. Located near Texas Tech's campus, it attracts both students and sports enthusiasts visiting the city. The restaurant offers generous portions at affordable prices and receives praise for its friendly service. While some patrons enjoy the flavorful food and large cheese sticks, others suggest that certain dishes could benefit from more seasoning.
Not from around town, decided to try this place out with some co-workers. Upon entry of the establishment, there was good music playing. It wasn’t too busy as we went around 11am. Service was rather quick at that time. Our food came out rather quickly. Upon receiving, I had ordered a burger and fries. The burger was rather bigger than I thought it would be. There was excellent flavor. The fries didn’t have any seasoning, not sure if that how it is or if we have to ask. We also got their huge mozzarella sticks! Those were the bomb!! You definitely should get them!!! Overall I was pretty impressed with the food and the establishment. The staff were friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend!

We were dropping one of our kiddos off at Tech and were told we had to try this place! The cheese sticks were insanely gigantic! There were 4 of us so I ordered 6...we could only eat 3 with 2 of us unable to finish our food! We really enjoyed the crispy buffalo chicken sandwiches, and the burger was good, too. Highly recommend.
Jenn P — Google review
First time goer. Was told by a family member that the cheese sticks were insanely delicious and the burgers were amazing. They did not disappoint! Quite the size of a burger and the Hot sauce on the Hot as Hell Burger was solid heat 🥵! Parking is kinda rough but worth it if you park and just walk.

Stopped in on a quiet Sunday afternoon so not crowded at all and very quiet inside. Had a Cheeseburger and fries, nothing special but hit the spot. Seemed a little pricey at $20 for meal and one beer but still better to support a local institution as opposed to a big franchise.
Luis M — Google review
One of my favorite places to visit when in town. I've tried several different items on the menu and have not been disappointed yet. The location was not far from the hotel or work area. If you order the cheese stix heads up they are huge! Definitely recommend the mushrooms and the hamburger and cheeseburger!
T G — Google review
Love the way it has more than 1 floor. Fast service. Good prices for the quantity but our meals were kind of boring, lacking flavor. I'll still be back cause it's a cool place to hang with family. Only had 3 meals there so far and each meal was bland.
GiGi L — Google review
Food, service, and atmosphere was great! Food came out fast and the cheese sticks are unbelievable. They are huge and so good. The mushrooms are also amazing!
Tacie G — Google review
It’s a shame because it appears that a Lubbock favorite is declining from poor management. The bathroom was disgusting with overflowing trash. The hand soap dispenser had the bag of soap that was supposed to be installed in the dispenser just laying on the sink. The tables were dirty with crumbs. The worst part was my receipt said 2:38pm and we didn’t get our two person order until 3:15pm (cheese sticks, chicken sandwich, chicken strips). Food was good, but the chicken only covered about 2/3 of the sandwich bun. We spent $42 on two people and ordered water. Not a $20 a person experience, that’s for sure.

Wine bar
La Diosa Cellars is a Spanish bistro in Lubbock that offers a unique blend of Spanish and Mexican cuisine, complemented by an extensive wine selection curated by an Advanced Sommelier. The restaurant features a variety of tapas dishes, including the popular Alfredo Jose, as well as classic offerings like gazpacho and imported cheeses. With a focus on seafood and an emphasis on pairing meals with wines from around the globe, La Diosa provides a cultural and culinary experience.
We had a great evening at La Diosa Cellars! The vibe is funky and artsy, with colorful eclectic decor, comfy chairs, and live music that perfectly matched the casual, lively atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive even with a full house. We tried a variety of dishes and drinks—standouts included the sparkling sangrias (refreshing and not too sweet), the flatbread (fresh, with lots of basil and tomato), and the Angelina and Lorena tapas, both full of flavor and beautifully presented. Portions were generous—perfect for sharing and making the meal feel like a real experience. The empanadas were a table favorite, and the starters came out quickly. We also loved that there was live music, with an acoustic set that made conversation easy while still setting the mood. Prices are fair for the quality, and the small cover charge for music is absolutely worth it for the atmosphere. This is a must-visit spot if you like a relaxed, unique setting with creative food and drinks—perfect for a fun night out in Lubbock!

So glad I found this place. Went there the first time by myself. Had a very Delicious meal. Tonight I got to bring co-workers and it was even better. My waitress Mackenzie was the same one I had when I was there before and she did an fantastic job!. It would have been five stars across the board if it weren't for the wine selection. The selection is robust and very appealing, but there were a lot of things that they were out of and other wines that weren't on the list. But don't let that deter you from going to this place because the food and the portions are perfect.
Chris S — Google review
Wow and oh wow. What a wonderfully unexpected surprise while in town this spot is. Glad we found this artistic, quaint space and thrilled that we explored and shared the offerings family style. The meatballs were a huge hit, as were the white beans. We all agreed it seemed like they forgot to add any salt to the sardines, but the herbal flavors were nice. Fair warning that the peppers are considerably more heat than similar shishito dishes, but still good. Perhaps the nicest surprise was the wine that we ordered relative to its price point…win win. Will definitely be back if I can. Hand made offerings abound. PS- it would be nice to have pulpa on the menu for the deep Spanish vibe! Great service all the way around.

100000% worth it! Im not a fan of expensive restaurants in my opinion they are more for show, making the food pretty vs the food being unique & delicious but this place THIS PLACE! Is worth every single penny. We had a queso dip I can't remember the name (not pictured) and it sent my taste buds into a frenzy as soon as this deliciousness grazed my tongue. Have you ever had food that made you break out in a smile because it's eye rolling good? That's exactly what this queso did. It was only up from here too. We had the Barcelona pizza and it is unlike any pizza you'll taste anywhere else in LBK. We also had their special I can't remember what it was called but it came with saffron rice, shrimp and lamb.. the lamb was 🥴🤤. And as if this all was not enough the lighting & art were a whole vibe. Our waiter I can't remember his name (tall guy with long hair and a beard) but he's been my waiter every time I've gone and he's always so helpful, patient and willing to explain/help you with the menu especially the first time you go bc the menu is different than your typical restaurant in lbk and he never makes you feel silly for not understanding it or having questions. Absolutely love this place.

if you’re looking for an out-of-texas experience with five-star hospitality, la diosa is the destination for you. i received wonderful service and recommendations from my bartender and the broiled spanish sardines were exactly what i needed for an early dinner for one. bring friends and families here for tapas and wine to share for the best afternoon or evening. i will be returning!

Cute place, food was good but not spectacular. We chose three dishes and the paella was cold. Nice wine list. Unfortunately we were seated right next to the band and it was very loud. Probably return, but will ask to be seated elsewhere. We had reservations and recommend it, it was crowded on Friday night.

Pancake House, located in Lubbock, Texas, is a classic diner that has been serving delicious breakfast dishes made from fresh and from-scratch ingredients since 1961. The menu offers a variety of signature pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, bacon, and sausage all day long. With its rustic and nostalgic atmosphere and friendly staff providing fast service, this popular local restaurant offers an inviting dining experience for both visitors and locals alike.
I came here to eat lunch, but people I went to a conference with went here for breakfasts and recommended it. We were seated immediately. I ordered a cheeseburger with tater tots. The cheeseburger was delicious, and I got it with lettuce on it which was great. The tater tots were the right amount of crispiness, The atmosphere was comfortable, and I could tell from the interactions between the staff and the customers that this is a nice environment to be in. I am not sure who my server was but they were fantastic! Very attentive. They do a $3 discount for college students on Wednesdays, and we happened to visit on a Wednesday. I am not a college student in Texas, but I am one in North Carolina, and they did accept my college ID to get that discount, which I really appreciated. I really liked it here and would definitely come back if I found myself in Lubbock again!

Firstly the host Kathy and our waitress Andrea were super friendly, efficient, sweet ladies! The waitress was constantly refilling our coffees and waters! The food was delicious. The skillet and the the chuck omelette were cooked perfectly and tasted great! The atmosphere is that of a southern diner! They had some really cool old signs decorating the walls! The restaurant was very clean and presentable!

Went on a Sunday around 10:30am. Not to busy waited about 10 minutes for a table but thats expected when you eat at a good place! The food was excellent and the staff was awesome. The atmosphere was a little noisy but not for my taste. Reminded me of the small town feel. I will definitely be back again!!

I used to bring my kids here when they were little back in the 80's. Now 2025 my daughter brought me. I'm visiting from Alabama. The food and coffee are still so good. We ate lunch here too. A different day of course after church. I'm glad to see this place is still here, after all these years. Under new management, but still here and a part of Lubbock History.

My mom and I went on a Saturday morning. It was very busy. It did take a while to get drinks and also the food. Our waitress was sweet, but she did go ghost for a while. My mom and I both waited a while for drink refills. Our potatoes came out burnt, but they gladly made us new ones. I will definitely return. Besides those things, everything was good.

The friendliest staff!! Very warm from the moment you walk in. I sat alone at the counter, and my server was super helpful finding me a banana when I asked for a side of fruit. The noise level is medium, with charming order shouts coming from the kitchen. Prices are inexpensive for the area. My breakfast sandwich and coffee were about $12 before tip.
Baby S — Google review
If you’re in the area or even if you’re a local, you have to stop in here! Where do I begin? The service. The servers are so kind and welcoming. They take their time to ask about you, what you like to eat, and they make menu suggestions. Mine suggested both the French toast and the pancake because I didn’t know what I wanted. I recommend the French toast! The food is so good and freshly made. I got the hungry boy plate and YUM! The server saw I had not got around to my pancake and she offered to butter it and warm it up for me. The atmosphere is very old time diner and there are adornments of Jesus everywhere. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in town again.

A true Lubbock tradition. I have been coming here since I was a child. Sure the portions have gotten a bit smaller and the prices are higher but it’s the same as I remember throughout the years. I had the bacon omelette with jalapeños and mushrooms added and a side of pancake.

Caprock Cafe is a beloved casual dining spot and sports bar located in Lubbock, Texas, that has been delighting locals since its inception in 1997. This vibrant eatery boasts a Western-themed atmosphere where guests can unwind with friends over ice-cold beers and indulge in an array of comfort food.
We had lots of down and dirty with a large party for a graduation meal! The food took a while, but we were a big party, and our drinks were kept full. The down and dirty mozzarella sticks and the queso were highlights of the meal. The down and dirty chicken tenders were good but the breading was a bit much for me. I did have a side salad which was a nice size portion and a fresh addition to a mostly fried food selection. It’s a fav of our recent college grads and some place we’ll look forward to visiting in the future.

We ordered way too much food for the two of us! We had a great experience here! The queso was delicious, but both of our absolute favorites was the green chile stew! It was phenomenal! The burger was pretty run of the mill for us. Everything here looked delicious and the menu is huge. We would definitely revisit if we were ever back in town.

The food was great. I had the Philly cheese quesadilla, and the wife had grilled chicken. Lindie, our waitress, was super sweet and checked on us numerous times. We sat out in what I would call an Atrium-ish. There are trees in there, and it's a really cool and comfortable atmosphere. I fully recommend you check this place out for yourself. I will be back to try more menu items. P.s. I really liked that flag it was right behind our table.

Absolute staple of Lubbock– you must try them! Anything on the menu is delicious, but some of my favs are the green chile cheese chicken fried steak, their queso, and their burgers. They have wonderful staff and the best atmosphere.

Restaurant is okay. As a bar, it's probably better, but we were there to eat. Plenty of TVs for watching sports. Fun atmosphere. Staff is great. Service was excellent. Queso was good. My only complaint, and it's a big one that will keep us from returning, is the food. I'm sure there are things they do well. It's not fair to paint the entire menu the color of simply what we ordered, but based on what we ate, I wouldn't want to spend what they charge to try other items. I had chicken strips with fries. Simple, right? $16. Airport pricing. The food? The chicken strips were 100% the exact same ones you get at Dairy Queen for $8. I got 3 strips (again, for $16) and fries that were obviously not fresh cut. Sysco freezer fries. They were edible, but for $16 ... My son's chicken sandwich looked like a piece of meat that had been through a hydraulic press (they obviously used cook weights to speed up prep time), and was just a piece of unseasoned chicken on bread. Again, $16. If the prices were $10 - $12 for that quality of food, I'd have peace with that, but what they charge is excessive for the food we were served. 5 of us cost $120+ for dinner, including drinks and tip, and all my wife got was a soup and salad. Everything about our experience for dinner was good, except the food for what we paid. They either need to raise the bar on the food being served, or lower the price. The balance is way off. It costs us less to eat better food at Chili's.

We visited on a Sunday morning about 11 am - I had a craving for chicken fried steak. Not busy so the music was a little loud, but by the time we left, we hardly noticed it because it was getting pretty busy. Started with chips and salsa/queso - just can't go wrong with that. Chicken fried steak was fork tender, didn't need the knife to cut through it. Waitress was very personable and efficient! Bonus points for refilling my water glass frequently! Great place for burgers and beer.

The Double Nickel Steakhouse in Lubbock, known as one of the best steakhouses in Texas, offers a modern saloon-style setting where patrons can enjoy a variety of delectable dishes. From juicy ribeye and tender chateaubriand to flavorful steak au poivre and farm-raised salmon, there is something for everyone's taste. The menu also features Australian lobster, bass, and rack of lamb.
We are here for the first time this past weekend. Carter was our server and was wonderful! He talked us through the menu and made excellent recommendations for every course! The crab stuffed mushrooms were cheesy, full of crab, and perfectly cooked, our only complaint was that they’re weren’t enough of them at only 4 pieces. We each had the double nickel salad which was fresh and dressings were tasty. We also both ordered the steak au poivre, steaks were cooked as requested medium rare, a good size at 14 oz each and the creamed corn was a standout. The bananas foster for dessert because who doesn’t want their dessert to be lit on fire! Overall a great experience! We won’t have many reasons to be in Lubbock again in the near future but Dpubel Nickel will be top of the list for when we are in town!

My family and I went for my birthday. It was so perfect. The ambience was so nice. Fantastic martinis. Amazing steaks! We also loved the bananas foster! It is one of the best restaurants in Lubbock.

I wish I could score this place higher. The staff are always amazing and the food is well worth the price. We've spent several special occasions here and definitely intend on coming back for another. I highly recommend the steaks as they're cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The staff are great at making you feel at home and taking care of every little thing you could need.

Had to share how sweet our server was. Our son has nonverbal autism and we had never taken him to a nice restaurant. Oscar was over the top understanding and helpful. He did everything to make sure he was taken care of and made little accommodations to help him. The food is good, but the server was really above and beyond. We appreciate his kindness and care!

We went for our anniversary and it was amazing! Easily the best place I have eaten in Lubbock. Great food, amazing service. The staff did a great job of making sure everything was up to our standards.

The food was delicious! The service was amazing and respectful! The atmosphere was dim and intimate! Music was romantic and at good volume. The new York strip was tasty and seasoned to perfection. I wish I had room to try the bananas foster, but we will definitely get it next time! The complimentary martini was delicious! We had a very pleasant experience, I look forward to returning in the near future! Highly recommend 10/10! **Just a heads up, men aren't allowed to wear caps inside and the online price menu is not up to date.

We took our son here for his 15th birthday. If requested they will acknowledge your birthday. Our waiter forgot so we don’t know they do. Make sure to remind them. I ordered the Double Nickel salad. It was tart, but if you like sweet tasting salad it was good. We order crab stuffed mushrooms and they were phenomenal. Lots of yummy sauce to enjoy. We ordered the Bananas Foster. They lit it at the table. It was fun to watch and delicious. The establishment definitely makes you feel like you need to dress up and act “proper”. However, I did see people in shorts and casual wear. The hey only enforce the “no hat” policy. Wear your Sunday best! The prices were through the roof so it’s definitely a special occasion experience for the working class.

We made reservations for my son’s birthday for 5:30 on 9/23. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We ordered the bacon shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms. Both appetizers were delicious. For my entree, I got the ribeye “double nickel” style topped with lump crab and shrimp with spinach rockefeller and sautéed mushrooms. My steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were delectable. But the best part of our evening was the bananas foster! Not only was it the flambé fun to watch, but the dessert was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. It was a night to remember, and a great way to celebrate a birthday. We had a good time!

Las Brisas is an elegant restaurant that offers a sophisticated dining experience. The establishment specializes in seafood, Southwest-style dishes, and steaks cooked in an 1,800-degree oven. The ambiance is upscale and inviting, with an outdoor patio featuring a view of a pond and waterfall. Guests can also enjoy live music from March through October. The restaurant prides itself on serving Angus steaks sourced from U.S. cattle ranches and fresh seafood flown in three times a week.
We ate here for the first time this past weekend. We had an early reservation on Saturday evening, and by 6p the restaurant was packed with several large parties. Our server was great, very friendly, informative, and attentive despite being busy. We’re not currently drinking alcohol, and he wasn’t bothered at all that we didn’t order wine which was nice. We enjoyed the fresh bread, lobster bisque, and our salads. Steaks were delicious and cooked to order. I love truffle, and ordered accordingly, unfortunately I just didn’t really taste it except maybe a bit in the mashed potatoes. The white truffle cream sauce was served in the same size bowl as the risotto and soup, so a HUGE portion that we couldn’t easily shared between 3 of us, two of us ordered it, which wasn’t necessary. It was a bit thick and more like a soup than a sauce, it was good, but not truffle-y. Mashed potatoes were fine, murshroom risotto was fine. The filet was my favorite part of the meal, served in a butter sauce and perfectly medium rare, very good. We had a ton of leftovers from so much food. Would definitely eat here again, maybe try some different sides next time. We were seated near the wine cellar, enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Hands down the best filet I’ve ever had… but what made our experience 10/10 was our server Lauren! I’m not normally one to write a review but she deserves the praise. The most professional, personable and fun waitress I’ve ever had. She was on it and remembered everything to a T without writing anything down as well. If anyone actually in charge sees this review give that girl a bonus or something. Will be requesting to have her every time!

Top shelf across the board. The quail was superb, the drinks were excellent, service was great and steaks were cooked perfectly with a great crust. Entire dinning experience exceeded expectations

Since I’ve been on this “culinary adventure” in Lubbock, I’ve asked many people where to get the best steak, and I kept hearing about Las Brisas. While I was at the bar a lady who seemed to be everyone’s mom told me it was the best steak I’d ever eat. Truthfully, I’ve never eaten a better steak, but we will get to that. While waiting, what struck me more than anything was the staff. They were so friendly. Even hearing them chat to each other while waiting in the bar, they were happy! To me that says they are treated well by management which speaks volumes. I settled on an old fashioned, the lobster bisque, and an 8 oz filet which came with roasted asparagus and southwestern mashed potatoes. I finished with the recommended vanilla butter cake which was topped with ice cream and blueberries. Everything was excellent, but the medium filet mignon was a masterpiece of balance—perfectly seared for a caramelized crust, with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center that’s warm and delicately pink. Its subtle, buttery flavor shines through, enhanced by a hint of seasoning and a flawless cook. If I tried, I couldn’t find a fault. This place is my new #1 for steaks knocking off Albuquerque’s Antiquity. PS. I sat at the bar and these pics are terrible.

It was outstanding. The patio was beautiful. Our server Jackie was the absolute BEST. The dirty martini was amazing. I ordered the garlic chicken with risotto and broccoli, and it was fabulous. One of my favorite places to wine and dine! Thank you!

The food was great, as it usually is. My only knock is the service that we experienced. I don’t usually go out of my way to post reviews on restaurants, but I just view this night in question as unacceptable. Our server, Lauren, was incredibly rude, condescending, and had a sarcastic tone that I found to be offensive. She did not care to our needs in the slightest. Our food took nearly an hour to come out (My family went with Medium-rare temp for our steaks and it was not a very busy night it seemed) and she wasn’t even around to set our food out for us when it finally did come. She did not bother to check if everything came out correctly (I asked for spinach instead of asparagus and still just got asparagus but just let it go because she wasn’t around so that I could address it in time). My daughter had an empty water for nearly half her meal. We had to ask what I assume was a bus boy to get her a refill and thankfully he served us better than she did. It seemed she would rather have conversations with any one else in the restaurant she knew, and we were a complete afterthought. The level of professionalism was nonexistent and I, myself, was embarrassed due to her negligence. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so, but I will make sure to not have her as my server ever again.

I'm giving them 5 stars despite not serving the cream corn on busy nights. Take it off or leave it on so I can make a decision of where to go. Put Miles in charge too; he's great and I know he'd make sure we got cream corn. If they have the cream corn available then get it!

Pretty neat place, very affordable food, ordered the green cheese enchiladas ($12), lemonade ($3), and a shot of bourbon ($4.50). Mixed in some salsa with my meal, was a good choice. The atmosphere on a Saturday night around 10pm was drunk men and women with children playing kids games. There was a mixture of cigarette smoke and alcohol throughout the air, not the greatest atmosphere.

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Nick, and I can honestly say he was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. From the moment he greeted our table, he was warm, attentive, and professional, but also had a natural charm that made the whole experience feel so enjoyable. Nick anticipated our needs before we even asked, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Beyond his excellent service, his friendly personality and genuine smile made the evening even more memorable. He carried himself with confidence and grace — truly elevating the entire dining experience. If you’re lucky enough to have Nick as your waiter, you’re guaranteed not only amazing service but also a wonderful atmosphere. He’s a gem! P.S. He’s so cute, would love to see him again.

The evening started out great, and our server Ann was perfect, food was delicious, had a great time with games as usual. When I tell you this one issue ruined everything I really mean it. The young man walking around with the broom and dust pan! Of all the noises in the building all you could hear is him sweeping absolutely nothing and the loudest most monotonous tap through our entire meal. Right beside our table no regard for people eating and trying to enjoy the meal and company. Like we appreciate the cleanliness, the floors looked great! But it was awful! Like nails on a chalkboard.

Had a great first impression of this place. Our server was really friendly and attentive. All the games were operational and my son had a fun time playing and picking out prizes. We went during the middle of the day on Friday and it was not too busy. We will definitely be back.

I went here yesterday around 8pm, I was met at the front by the rudest girl I've met. She refused to speak to us because she was on her phone. There were two girls. They had sloppy hair with bright coloring streaks. She wouldn't give eye contact or face me. I just wanted to put our name on the list to wait for a table. She wouldn't even take my name she stayed on her phone our entire conversation. I tried to be civil. I asked how long the wait time was. As we really intended on spending big last night. She ignored my question but looked at me. I said in another way. How long before we can be seated. She said "when a table opens up. She then mumbled a racial slur to me. So I took my family and left. I wanted to speak to a manager but there's never anyone that will help you here. I used to come here a lot but yesterday was our last time. To employ people who treat other people this poorly is wrong. Her being a possible teenager is no excuse for her behavior. If she can't handle customers or has a problem with black ones, the. She should be moved to back of house to wash dishes or let go. There's no excuse to call a stranger that who was just looking to take family out there. The other girl just kept looking back and forth at the girl being rude to us never stepped in at any point. This would have been a large party celebration and could have brought potential profit to the store and I feel like this place will ultimately miss out on this in the future if the service doesn't improve. I hate complaining but I've never been called a slur at a restaurant before. It was a bad experience for my kids to see. Please do better.
Tiffany S — Google review
Fun place for the kids to stretch their legs during our stop in Lubbock. A good selection of games to play. Food was the only thing that knocked this review down a star. I came in with high expectations from the reviews and photos, but was disappointed from what came out from the kitchen. Food: Chips and salsa were decent, but free, so no complaints there. We ordered a kids pizza with fries - again, decent. My wife ordered the sirloin and I ordered the half order of ribs - both underwhelming. Again, let down due to higher expectations from the reviews we read and the pictures. I will say that next time, we will probably order from the Tex Mex options. Service: Friendly staff. Seated fairly quickly. Attentive server.

The food is not good, actually, it's gross. I have given them several chances over a few weeks, ordering different items from the menu and it's all just gross. On a bright note, the beer is cold. The arcade is fun. We'll probably go back for that.

Restaurant
Texas Roadhouse is a bustling steakhouse chain that offers a lively atmosphere and American cuisine with a Southwestern twist, all within Texas-themed surroundings. Known for its hand-cut steaks and fall-off-the-bone ribs, it's a popular choice for friends and families in Lubbock. The restaurant is famous for serving over 11 million pounds of peanuts annually, along with legendary Margaritas and ice-cold beer to complement the meals.
Steaks were properly cooked (medium rare is still the best). Always loved their ribeye steaks. Sidings were plentiful & cooked well. The place can get quite noisy though & wait times can get quite long if you come during peak lunch & dinner times. We still love getting our steak fixes here.
Raffy T — Google review
The service we received wasn’t great at all. It was my aunts birthday and we wanted to have a good meal. We were missing items from order and steaks over cooked, which happens. The service wasn’t good we had to look for server constantly for refills and ask for them when he came by. After we received food he didn’t return manager brought my steak back. We had to get our own boxes and Cam never took a single dish off the table unless we handed it to him. I’m here from Houston for my aunts birthday and it’s unfortunate we didn’t have a better experience. I think it’s a lack of training at this location. I even told the manager about our experience he was a younger man with brown long hair on the phone in the corner. Told me oh sorry about that I’ll go talk to him and walked away not even letting me finish telling him about my concern. I didn’t want anything free we already paid I just wanted to make someone aware of the experience so it could hopefully get better for the next guest. Management never did table touches to any table in our section. Which I think this would help with a lot of complaints to nip it from when it happens. Here is the table when we left.
Victoria Z — Google review
Unfortunately it's not the experience that we normally get. After no wait time to be seated and fast drinks on the table and appetizer came out great, the main on the other side came out way under cooked for me to swallow it. I ordered a medium bone-in ribeye, came out raw like it barely touched the grill to get the color, after sending it back it came back cooked more but unfortunately it was still in the rare side and after couple cuts it was back to raw. Not what you expect from a steak house after a second try on the same piece of meat. Paid and left, was looking for a good meal not a free one. This is just a feedback because we love Texas road house and probably be back next week in hopes the issue being resolved and be able to get the expected service like any previous time.

We came into Texas Roadhouse last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and even though it was a packed house, we had a wonderful experience sitting at the bar. Our bartender Kaytlin was outstanding—quick, friendly, and efficient even on such a busy night. She kept things cheerful and made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. The food was great, the atmosphere was lively, and the service couldn’t have been better. We truly enjoyed the evening and are already looking forward to coming back again soon!

12 oz ribeye steak. Cooked perfect. Baked potato and veggies. Everything was great. The only complaint I had was how loud it was. We couldn't hear everyone talking at our table. But it was a busy night. Not a good place for large groups for meetings.

I have not been to this particular location. I did however dine at the Wichita Falls location several times last week. I found out 1 of the old managers Ried is currently working this location now. He is absolutely amazing & I promise he is extremely attentive. I would bet the Lubbock location is a great place to dine at. Ried come to Green Bay & fix this location please!!! It’s terrible at best!! Long wait times even when the dining area is @ about 40% capacity. Servers playing on phones & or chatting with each other. The Wichita Falls location is still top notch by the way. Hello Ried hope all is well, Camryn was super fun. I see your nephew is still digging LeBron James much love brother!! Had supper at The Plaza Restaurant & Bar - Lubbock, Texas on Milwaukee and was honestly a little disappointed. Was seated quickly and the waitress came quick enough. Got unsweetened tea and queso to start. Was glad I got the queso because it was hot and warmed up the cold chips I was served. Queso being hot was the only redeeming factor as the queso tasted liked warmed up cheese wiz. Relleno plate (beef) with charo beans and papas. Food was very hot and overall had a good taste. Relleno fell apart so had to scoop a little beef with the pepper. I felt rushed though. I was not halfway done with my plate before I was asked if I wanted a dessert. Since I didn't she brought the check right away. One redeeming factor was she did ask if I wanted a to go tea. Maybe all the good servers and food went to the Slide Road location. But this was not the Plaza I remembered.

This is a great restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. The food choices are plentiful and everyone in our party found something to enjoy. I tried the nachos. We normally have really great service and food here, but today was VERY off. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food..which was served lukewarm warm at best. The service was nonexistent, and even when she brought the chimichanga with the queso spilled all over the rest of the food, she didn’t offer to take it back. We ordered a Diet Coke, but received a Coke Zero, and when she refilled it, it came back with sweet tea. One of the other plates had bits of ground beef all of it, even though we didn’t order anything with ground beef. Incredibly dissatisfied with our whole experience today, but especially the service.

The staff were very kind and helpful and kept us swimming in refills, all while keeping track of all our orders. If you like cheese, the queso fundido was fantastic. It's a nice, quaint place. We had a cheeseburger and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Both burgers were cooked perfectly and were delicious. The fries had a crunch on the outside and were soft on the inside. Also, I had a strawberry milkshake. It was a great meal but a slightly higher price than we expected to pay. Went during the lunch rush today; It was busy and took about 15 minutes to get our food after ordering. The hamburgers were definitely not cooked to order as they were not hot or juicy and fries had been sitting under heat lamps for a bit. Maybe we'll try again during off peak hours as it could have potential.

We Celebrated my Grandfather's Heavenly Birthday and it was perfect. Had he been with us i know he would have definitely enjoyed his family gathering together there it was a fun night. I had a Mushroom & Swiss Hamburger with sautéed onions. The buns were soft & fresh and the hamburger patty cooked to juicy well done. The fries I had to take home and were still good for a midnight snack. I didn't even warm them up. Service, food, and cleanliness. We gathered for dinner at 7:00pm and stayed til close and they had no problem with us holding up so many tables. THANK YOU

The first time here is a good food place. I ordered the bacon cheese burger with green chile, my daughter ordered the cheese burger without the bun, and a side salad. My wife had a cheese burger with a side of onion rings. Everything was very good, so good that even the sight of the food made it so tempting. I forgot to take a picture to show you all how delicious they looked. We will definitely return. FYI, tech students and faculty get a discount with an ID. Just ask.

We’ve always eaten at Blue Sky- both locations- without problems. Today our order was wrong; they corrected it. However, fries were stale- a small issue, I know, but that’s why I choose Blue Sky - the fries

I placed an order online and went through the drive-through to pick it up. The worker opened the window and didn’t even greet me. Only said “what’s the name” then slammed the window shut. When she came back, she handed me my food, then slammed the window shut again. Never once smiled. Horrible customer service that makes me not want to come back

I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical after reading some recent reviews, but I’m so glad I decided to give The West Table a chance and what a fantastic experience it turned out to be! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. The hostess with short hair (unfortunately I didn’t catch her name) was warm and welcoming, and Mason, our server, was absolutely wonderful. I was there with my kids, and right away they offered high chairs and brought water without us even having to ask. Mason kindly let us know that the food might take a little while since everything is freshly made to order, which we really appreciated. It helped set our expectations and made the wait feel totally reasonable (especially since we ordered steaks!). The food itself was excellent. The beetroot salad and crab starter were beautiful and full of flavor. Our mains took a bit of time, as expected, but they were well worth the wait. They also gave crayons to my little one, which made a big difference in keeping him happy. Mason even took the time to chat with us, making the whole experience feel personal and memorable. I truly hope more people start sharing their positive experiences here, because this restaurant, from food to service, really deserves the recognition. Don’t let a few negative reviews deter you. We had an awesome time.

This is a happening place! We went for dinner and unfortunately they didn't have a table for 3. We did not have a reservation. However, we went to the bar and had drinks and the menu comes from the same kitchen. The hot chicken sandwich was hot and delicious! The house salad is very good! I was pleasantly surprised. If you are in Lubbock, check It out!

Our first time here and we had a great experience. The food was excellent. My husband had the duck and he loved it. He said the lomein was the best he's ever had. I had the steak and frites, my filet was cooked perfectly and one of the most tender filets I've ever had. We also had the shashito peppers for an app and it was great, not too spicy. They have great cocktails as well. I have to mention Colton, he was our server and made our experience that much more notable. He was very personable and attentive. Thanks for the birthday dessert, the sopapillas were delicious 😋

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a Lubbock restaurant. High quality food made from scratch, my service was the best of the best, absolutely no complaints. I tried the teriyaki marinated ribeye and my wife had the double bone in Durac pork chop and they were absolutely life changing. Delicious cocktails and a very informed bar staff made mine and my wife’s night one to remember. Chef Cameron West and his awesome team truly set a standard for what fine dining should look like and I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for quality scratch food. Could not be happier <3

Overall an excellent experience. Service was very good, not rushed but never kept us waiting. Each food item was delicious. This is one of the few places out here in Lubbock where everything was cooked perfectly. My rare steak was actually cooked rare, our guests had pork chops that were beautifully juicy, and the quail appetizer was flavorful and crisp. Even the vegetables were flavorful and tender. Highly recommend and we will defintiely return. Reservations recommended.

No wait, service was good. She did what she could to take care of us. The menu is extremely limited. The entrees dont seem to come with sides except mayde some french fries. And the entree that does come with fries is almost $60. We had to send our food back cause it was under cooked. It's a scratch kitchen so we ended up being there for almost 3 hours. Luckily we were not in a rush. Overall, super overrated. No intentions on returning.

Wish I could take this restaurant with me back to Houston! We’ve never been to Lubbock, but I’m so glad we chose this place for our first dinner experience. Not quite sure anyone in Lubbock can top it. This place is exceptional!! Perfectly cooked food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere! My only tiny complaint is I wish the dining chairs were more comfortable.

Orlando's Italian Restaurant is a beloved gem in Lubbock, Texas, that has been delighting diners since its establishment in 1989. This family-owned eatery offers a delightful mix of classic Italian cuisine and innovative Tex-Italian dishes, making it a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. The casual atmosphere is perfect for families, ensuring everyone feels welcome as they explore the extensive menu filled with mouthwatering options like fresh pasta, pizzas, and hearty sandwiches.
I had lunch with a customer here on 10/22 around 11:30. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. After reviewing the enormous menu for a few minutes, I decided on the Italian sausage casserole because I was craving mushrooms. It came with a soup or salad, so I chose the potato and green chili soup. It was creamy with just the right amount of kick from the chilis. And just when I was finishing up my soup, the casserole arrived. It was meaty and cheesy and full of yummy mushrooms too. Overall we were able to discuss business in a great atmosphere while enjoying a delicious meal. We had a good time!

Came here for a birthday dinner. Would have been better going to Fazolis or Italian Garden. I ordered a coffee, and it arrived in a huge cup with hardly anything in it. Ordered the sampler for 2 and asked for easy on the sauce. It still arrived drenched. How most other places hydrate their product with water or milk for cheese dishes, this place apparently hydrates with oil. The atmosphere is great, and the service is phenomenal.

Classic Italian stop. Lasagna and Meatball Sandwich were delicious. The Wisconsin Cheddar cheese soup was tasty and rich In flavor. Great place to have a get together! The time B4 we had pizza 🍕 which went over well with everyone.

My Canadian bacon - pineapple pizza was burned, and didn't have much flavor but was too expensive to throw away- my friend next to me was last served and ordered before me. Her order was a vegetable pasta dish and her food was hot.

Nice and chill ambiance at this location, dim lighting and seating arrangement. Pleasant, very nice. We had the supreme pizza with Pineapple and it was delicious. The 14 hands cabernet was a perfect match with the meaty toppings. Tristan was a joy to have as our waiter, attentive and polite.

Our service was really good. That is about all that was good. Food was super greasy and like warm. My pasta sauce tasted like metal...like it came from a can.. The atmosphere was going for old world Italy, but really came back as back alley Chicago...dank, dark, and I thought I might get mugged. When I think about what I paid, in some ways I did get robbed. Do not recommend.

Dirk’s Signature Chicken & Bar is a modern diner located in downtown, offering a health-conscious and locally sourced alternative to traditional diners. The restaurant pays homage to Dirk West, the former Lubbock mayor and cartoonist known for his cartoons of Texas Tech's Raider Red, with original Dirk cartoons adorning the walls. Run by the West family, who also operates The West Table and The Brewery LBK, Dirk’s serves excellent fried chicken alongside other dishes like gumbo and fried zucchini.
Run don’t walk to this spot! Food was next level and service was great. Can’t believe we found this gem in Lubbock of all places. Couldn’t decide between the Nashville hot and the Korean chicken, so got both! Plates were empty.

Alex is our hero, he is the best waiter! The portions here are large for the prices. The chicken tenders were juicy and good. The fried bone in chicken was dry. We did not enjoy the bacon gravy it was oddly sweet. The house ketchup was good. Oh and the okra was awesome!
Elizabeth H — Google review
Attentive server, fairly fun aesthetic, but the star is the food. Some of the best fried chicken you’ll ever have anywhere, including Memphis/Atlanta/name the city that claims it. The mashed potatoes were great, the sauce platter was perfect for dipping. A top-tier fried chicken experience. They could charge $50 and I’d go back.
Matthew B — Google review
OMG One of the best meals on this trip and an unexpected surprise. The Korean chicken was delicious- a little spicy but not overwhelming- juice and tender. The chicken tenders were perfectly cooked moist inside and a satisfying crunch with Dirk's signature sauce. And a wide choice of sides - first place goes to the collard greens - I usually avoid from many bad ones, but these were the best I've ever had. On a road trip for a one night stop over searched a long time for a spot that wasn't pub grub or pizzas or burgers or a a chain - this was a very lucky find. Lots of locals agree. The wait staff was friendly and fun and prompt- the tricefta. If you are within 100 miles ' eat here.

Food was delicious!!! Chicken was crispy, potatoes were creamy, gumbo was fantastic, drinks never went empty!!! The only complaint is the 2.7% service charge to use a card… I recommend bringing cash
Ellen D — Google review
The chicken here is super crispy, juicy, and tasty. However that is where the positives about the food end for me and my dinner companion personally. The chicken fried steak tenders were chewy and the breading fell off right away and what breading managed to stay on wasn’t cooked. It was mushy and frankly gross. The gravy was super watery and not pleasant. The grits were so thick and unyielding it came out of its little cup in a cube and stayed that way for a while which weirded me out. And finally, the shaved brussel sprouts looks like baby food and I didn’t even try it it looked so gross to me. Overall, the service was good, the facility was good, and the chicken tenders were good. None of that is enough to return.
Amanda D — Google review
Fantastic restaurant. We got the traditional chicken strips and the Korean Fried Chicken. Both of them were so good! Alex served us and he was very attentive of our table and helped us decide what to get, as it was our first time and we are from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He recommended some various sauces, which were all good, but that house ketchup is something else - I'm not even a big ketchup fan, but this was next level! This will definitely be a go-to spot for us any time we're in town. Highly recommend!

If you're really hungry the serving sizes here will definitely fill you up.

We were in late in the day yesterday and the food was amazing!!! The burgers were juicy and had great flavor, the fries were crispy and hot. The staff was super nice. The atmosphere was great and we had an amazing time! I do want to note that the mood changed became much more somber when one of the managers arrived. She was wearing a button up Heff’s shirt and she was kind of off putting. She was rude to some of the staff and Just had an obnoxious tone. The staff was trying and Scott was speaking with us up in the dining room. He was very upbeat and fun and had many good suggestions for us upon our return. We decided to head out due to the somber change in the atmosphere, and we know that we are just a small voice in the big picture but we thought you should know. Just our humble observation, and we own businesses as well. Thanks again for the good food and keep it up.
Anne S — Google review
The food was was really great, but what made this trip to Heff’s stand out was the incredible service and kindness provided by Deanna. This was honestly the best fast food experience we have ever had. She went out of her way to get our dog outside some water, treats, and love. After being on the road for six hours, we are so grateful to have encountered such a genuine and kind person. The next time that we are in Lubbock we will definitely be back to this location!
Nicole S — Google review
I wasn't much of a Burger fan until I went to Heff's. The variety and good flavor of their burgers sold me. They're a bit more expensive and take a bit longer than your regular fast food burger, but the quality is well worth it. Today I ordered their Breakfast Sandwich. Due to a technology error my order was delayed and my wait was long, which would usually result in a bad review but when I notified the staff they were very quick to fix the problem. Not only was the Breakfast Sandwich honestly worth the wait, they offered me free ice cream (which they have good ice cream but I gave a pass for the sake of my diet) and then a voucher for a free burger as consolation. What matters is not perfect service, but the effort they put in to make sure the customer's experience is good, and in that regard they pass with flying colors. Once again, the food's pretty dope too. Voucher or not, I very much plan on enjoying Heff's again.

The hacienda-style setting adds to the dining experience, making it a regional favorite with locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond.
After a long hot afternoon my husband and I were starving. Usually we would pick a restaurant we’ve already eaten at many times. But today we wanted to try something new. ABUELO’S it was! Definitely did NOT disappoint. We were greeted immediately walking inside, then were met with the nicest server ever, Katelynn. She gave us chips and salsa right away got our drinks and even suggested an appetizer to start. After we ordered our food didn’t take very long to come out. It was hot, and delicious. I got the chicken fajitas 10/10 and my husband got the Grande plate 10/10. After eating she suggested a dessert which I rarely get, but she made the service so great, why not. Ended our experience with amazing dessert, and a to-go beverage. Thank you Katelynn again for an amazing experience. And thank you ABUELO’S, we will definitely be returning.

The Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant is a great place to fill you up, but kind of expensive as well, because of the rise of food items, especially how they make it and trying out their Tex-Mex foods like the Grande, that will feel your day, without eating anything today.

Food is cold .. the chicharons are cold and harder than a rock.. salsa is ok , tortillas are cold .. the queso is not great .. the empanadas are cold but ok .. the temp is almost fridge cold .. the dip sample looks good but is not great .. we had to get are own plates and had to grab silverware after asking and getting some silverware.. the staff is not great except our waitress. This is sad .. the hospitality is very negative and it makes the atmosphere not great from the hostess to the staff in general.. don’t recommend

Update: Thank you very much to Brian th Hospitality manager for taking time to personally reach out to me regarding my experience last night. It is greatly appreciated. Abuelos is one of my my favorite places to get enchiladas. Due to being so busy I ordered food to go. I get my food and I ordered a simple cheese enchilada plate and got beef. It says on the order for concerns to please call. I call let the to go girl know what happened she didn’t bother to check my order, ask questions nothing. It was pretty much oh well. Im sorry but I think I will be getting enchiladas else where. I was not rude at all to get the attitude in return.

We really appreciate the service here! As a couple who doesn’t eat pork (this means we avoid lard…) the server really went above and beyond and went to check with both the chef, kitchen manager, and personally checked labels himself. That said the food was also amazing! I got chicken with the corn cream sauce and my husband got the combo fajitas. We also enjoyed a delicious tres leche. Also highly recommend picking up the 100$ on gift cards at Costco for 80$! 😉

Chicken wings restaurant
One Guy From Italy University is a long-standing family-run pizzeria in Lubbock, with two locations near Texas Tech campus. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes such as calzones, wraps, subs, pasta Bolognese, lasagna, shrimp scampi, and chicken parmesan. Their pizzas can be customized or chosen from gourmet options.
I came in for a slice and left with a large pie to go. Truly amazing authentic Italian cuisine and it's obvious when you walk in and the aroma seduces you to the counter. Chef Tony makes each pasta dish individually with care. The pizza is absolute ambrosia and it is definitely because of the "Awesome Sauce," made from scratch in-house and the hand-stretched dough becomes the perfectly balanced crispy-chewy foundation for each masterpiece. It does get very busy... like, insanely busy, during the school year. The one guy behind the counter said that after Texas Tech events they have regularly had 3,000 people served in 2 hours. I saw what I thought was a huge beautiful pizza that camel out of the oven and went right into the rubbish bin. He told the dough stretcher it was overcooked, make another one. Quality seems to be a top priority.
Brent S — Google review
Got the 6 oz boneless wings and all meat calzone. Was just alright imo. Calzone isn't too bad of a deal for the price. Boneless wings definitely not worth the price though. Walked by here for 4 years as a graduate student and never tried it until the end of my time. Wasn't missing out on much all those years to say the least. I will say the pizza available by the slice out on the counter looked pretty dry and lifeless, which is why I got the calzone. Maybe their other pizzas when fresh are better?

I just had myself a Matador Wrap with curly fries and it was very good, especially adding a lot of vegetables inside the wrap along with the chicken too. The one guy from Italy restaurant has some very good Italian food, even know they cross out the prices on the pizzas and many other items for unknown reason and the place needs a little bit clean and patch up or 2, at least the service took their time, when I was thinking about ordering something to try out and eat. Good location next to the university.

I am a semi driver at loves. I ordered pizza to be delivered. I use Google maps to get my address. After my order got picked up by Uber (their delivery service of choice) driver called me complaining I used wrong address. Then the driver cancelled my order and kept my pizza. Couldn't get a hold of Uber because I didn't use Uber app. The manager Mooney gave me a refund but still sitting here hungry with no transportation. I don't want to trust Uber or any delivery apps due to the negligence of the last driver. The manager was Happy to give a refund but that was it. Just a sucks to be you attitude. This is what happens when you don't hire good managers to go above and beyond their basic job. When I was running a pizza parlor I would go to great links to help my customers because I always treat my job like I own it. Like it is my profits was on the line. Good luck to the owner with staff like that. He wasn't even willing to contact Uber to correct the issue. It is sad because it looked like great food and was going to order pasta the next day but not now. Truckers move America and can not take our trucks anywhere we want to go. We are limited and now it's another night of peanut butter sandwiches.

Italian Garden is a family-owned restaurant located in Downtown Lubbock, offering a modern and cozy atmosphere to enjoy traditional Italian cuisine. The menu features classic dishes such as pizza, pasta, lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmigiana, and shrimp scampi. Everything is made from scratch in their kitchen, including the creamy sauces and baked bread. Guests rave about the fresh-baked garlic rolls and recommend trying anything with the pink sauce.
Our server Cassie was delightful and attended to our every request. Very busy, reservations recommended for Friday/Saturday. BYOB is awesome for a nice bottle of wine. Portions are generous and salad and soup is optional for those that want full meal. Pink sauce is a very homemade option of traditional red and white, recommended. Lasagna is served bubbling hot and goes well with garlic bread.

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant during our stay in Lubbock. Initially, I was a bit hesitant when we arrived, but I was pleasantly surprised as soon as we stepped inside. We were warmly welcomed and quickly seated. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and offered great suggestions that turned out to be fantastic choices. We began our meal with fried ravioli and cheese sticks, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. For his main course, my husband chose the chicken Parmesan served with spaghetti. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the same wonderful sauce from the appetizers topped the pasta, making it a delightful dish. The chicken featured a thin, crispy crust and was tender and fully cooked. I opted for the chicken with tortellini in pink sauce. The chicken was just as incredible as my husband's Parmesan chicken, while the tortellini was delightful, and the pink sauce was creamy and perfectly seasoned without any one ingredient overpowering the dish. The portion sizes were generous! The bread served with our meal was fresh and light—definitely worth trying with butter. Although the restaurant was quite busy, our food arrived in a timely manner and tasted freshly made. The portions were so substantial that I enjoyed some leftovers for lunch the next day, and they were even better! This place is a definite must-visit when you're in town.

We did not have a good experience. We called and made a reservation for 7. It seemed pretty busy when we got in but didn’t think much about it. We got sat right away and they brought out some waters for us. My problem is when we ordered our food it took exactly an hour for 3 chicken fettuccine and a lasagna. We sat there and no one communicated anything. Almost 40 minutes we asked about our food and our waitress just seemed annoyed that we asked. When the food was brought out 2 of our chickens fettuccine seemed like they were sitting under the heat lamp for a while. The other 2 came out steaming hot. Multiple people that arrived after us received their food and we were still waiting. We really wanted to like this place but we did not get great customer service.

The Funky Door Bistro & Wine Room is an American bistro offering a variety of dishes such as steaks, fondues, and pastas. It's a great spot for a romantic date night with its modern contemporary atmosphere and live music. The restaurant also features NapaTechnology Wine Stations, allowing guests to sample from 40 different wines. The ambiance is sophisticated yet relaxed, making it perfect for both intimate dinners and fun nights out with friends.
From start to finish everything was incredible. We were a walk in reservation and the hosts were friendly. We didn’t wait long at all and it was a Saturday! We mentioned it was our anniversary but didn’t expect anything and they had a table set up with rose petals and the waitress (Emma) offered us complimentary champagne and when she heard we don’t drink she surprised us with two Shirley temples in some cute champagne glasses. Emma’s energy the whole time was wonderful. And super contagious! She made our 5 year anniversary amazing. The food and service here were seriously top tier. Our expectations were exceeded. I can’t put together the words to express how much this meant to my fiancé and I. Emma felt like a friend we’ve known for a while. I’m so serious. She has the best best energy. And the food was truly amazing. We didn’t touch the salt and pepper ONCE. Need any steak sauces, NOTHING. Compliments to the chefs!!! The ONLY thing I would change was the live music being a tad too loud to hear each other. It’s a nice touch for sure but please turn it down a little bit ☺️

We had the best brunch on Saturday! We got to try the brand new brunch menu and it was fantastic. The food was fabulous, the drinks were delicious, and our server Mason was very friendly and attentive! Will definitely be back on the next trip to Lubbock. 👏🏼

I went to Funky Door with my boyfriend for our anniversary, and it was nothing short of amazing! Our server was Elizabeth and she was great at providing descriptions and recommendations of all the drinks and food items. She was very friendly and quick with service! I got the butternut chicken gnocchi and it was so delicious!! My boyfriend got a cajun pasta which was also super savory and tasty (I ate off his plate too) we both shared the cheesy garlic bread which came with three sauces, pesto, tomato basil I think, and this tasty butter sauce, all incredibly good. We both also got dessert, the cheesecake funky door style and the Bourbon chocolate cake! I have to say though, the bourbon chocolate cake was absolutely incredible, literally melts in your mouth and rich in flavor with the toffee sauce add in!! The atmosphere was very romantic and sweet, there was a small band playing who were very funny and interactive. Overall 10/10 experience!! Highly recommend and will be coming back for more special events! (I only got a picture of the garlic bread because we absolutely devoured the rest of the food LOL)

Funky interior design Decent red wine collection Warmly and countryside atmosphere with guitar singer Decent well-trained waiters Concerning the food, perhaps I am too picky for the degree of cooking and heating, I think the veggies are overcooked; the duck is too greasy; pork is well cooked but lack of juicy and tender

Went to the Funky Door on a recent trip to Lubbock. It was also my 37th wedding anniversary so my wife and I were hoping for a stellar experience. We were not disappointed on any level. The atmosphere is dark and sultry. The service was a solid 10 out of 10. The drinks were even better. We mostly had several appetizers and the Fiesta fondue. Everything was fantastic. Finished with a slice of cheesecake flamed table side with 151 rum. Live music by Arle Ross was unexpected and outstanding.

Wonderful service and food. All my expectations were exceeded. Wonderful chicken and gnocchi and amazing cake. my friend had the Cajun pasta, and we shared a bottle of wine. Fantastic selection of wines

On November 4th, 2022 my girlfriend and I came to the Funky Door for a date after being together a month. We were not impressed then. The food was not as good as I wanted it to be, especially for the price. The service was still great back then though. Last night my now Fiancé and I went in for our 3 year anniversary and we had a very different experience. We loved it! I was amazed at how great everything was. The food, the drinks, the service, the vibes. All amazing! Scout was the highlight of the night for us, she made our anniversary night feel so special. She also recommended the only alcoholic drink my fiancé has ever actually enjoyed. Very impressed with our experience. We will definitely be back! P.S. The only reason for the 4/5 on atmosphere is because the live music was a little bit too loud. but it was still enjoyable.
Travin H — Google review
Service was great. Restaurant was beautiful and the singer was excellent. BUT the food was hit or miss. For the price it was not worth it. Mushroom cap escargot - mushrooms were ok but the escargot was burnt. Fried shrimp had good flavor but the batter was greasy and we didn’t finish it. Chicken and gnocchi- chicken was dry. Gnocchi was ok. Spinach artichoke fondue was not fondue- that was a dip with a little fire under it. What was good? Surprisingly, the grapes appetizer. So good! The cheese sticks are not what we expected but really really good. The duck and Brussels - excellent. The burger and sweet potato fries also good.

Barbecue restaurant
Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q is a no-frills, cafeteria-style restaurant that serves up some of the best authentic Texas barbecue in Lubbock. The family-owned establishment offers tender meats and delicious sides in a retro dining area with basic decor and indoor picnic tables. Customers appreciate the efficient system for ordering and receiving their food, as well as the generous portions provided for group meals.
Rudy's Restaurant in Lubbock exceeded our expectations! The food was fantastic, especially the beef brisket and corn on the cob (don't forget to ask for butter - it's a game-changer! 😋). The staff were super friendly and attentive, with one server going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. When I mentioned the brisket was a bit dry, she promptly replaced it with a fresh order 👍🏽. Her exceptional customer service made a lasting impression, and I even returned the next day to order a large takeout for my family back in Connecticut. If you're looking for great BBQ and top-notch service, Rudy's is the place to go! 😍
Jamal B — Google review
First time trying Texas BBQ and it did not disappoint. The brisket was juicy, tender and smoky. The pork ribs were mostly juicy with some of the thicker meats being a bit dry and not very much smokiness, but still good overall. My father in law enjoyed the turkey sandwich and my mother in law said that the chicken was nice and juicy. The BBQ baked beans had no BBQ in it so it was savory and not sweet, but still pretty good. The cream of corn also was not sweet at all, but also still pretty good. The restaurant was clean with a backyard type of ambience. Counter service was good, but lacked the country style warmth.
Johnny B — Google review
It's okay. The customer service and staff was great. The food looked delicious. I tried the Green Chili Stew, which was pretty good. It was a bit spicy, but tolerable. I really wanted to have the pecan pie, but it didn't look very appetizing. Everyone else enjoyed their meal.
Matilda R — Google review
We wanted Texas BBQ in Texas and this was delicious. They sell everything separately so you just order your meat and sides in the size you want. The turkey was amazing. The potato salad was a little sweet for my taste but the other sides were delicious. I loved the country atmosphere and the employees were very friendly. My only real complaint was that I was hoping the ‘store’ would actually have some souvenirs or Texas decor or something (similar to Cracker Barrel if you’ve been there) but with the exception of Rudy’s T-shirts and hats it just has a few snacks and drinks. Overall I’m glad we chose Rudy’s for our Texas BBQ experience.

I ordered a group meal from here for our game night on 6/15 to be ready for pick up around 5pm. The food was ready when we arrived, and was still at preferred temperatures when we got it back home. The pulled pork and moist brisket were juicy and packed full of flavor. All of the sides were delicious and had us going back for more, and I was surprised to see that they gave us an entire loaf of bread and a whole bottle of barbecue sauce! Everyone enjoyed the meal and had a great time.

The pulled pork and turkey are just out of this world, the peach cobbler is really good as well. For me personally the brisket and bbq ribs were not that good and they had a weird aftertaste. Cole slaw and potato salad are ok but not that good.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant
Lubbock's Breakfast House & Grill is a popular American diner in Lubbock that quickly expanded to a second location. Known for their griddle breakfast dishes, burgers, sandwiches, and Southern plates, this restaurant offers a variety of options for all meals. Their hot breakfast scramble is filled with hash browns, scrambled egg, peppers, mushrooms, cheese, potatoes, and tomatoes. The Eggs Benedict are highly recommended as well.
We have been wanting to try Lubbock's Breakfast House & Grill on University for awhile now so we took a shot and my, my, my! We were not disappointed! From the service, to the food, to the cleanliness. Our experience was a great one. We were so impressed we went two days in a row and both days were equally enjoyable! Gloria and Demi, our servers, were really sweet and attentive. Those ladies work their tails off making sure everyone is well taken care of. They kept our coffee cups topped off and hot, as was our food. The only exception being the biscuits and gravy which were cold when we got them which they rectified, not enough to deduct a star in my opinion. Try the Pork chop and eggs with the home fried potatoes, the Chicken biscuits and gravy, or the Ham, green chili and cheese omelette. They were all delicious! Y'all have new customers for life anytime we're in town that's for certain!

Cold food that was just alright, not horrible but FAR from good. Wish the strawberry waffles had real strawberries and not frozen soggy ones I couldn’t even eat bc they tasted like water.

Service was good. Food came fast. Portions were good. Very little flavor.. Eggs still runny being scrambled. Sausage tasted like it was precooked, and cold. Prices are decent, for the amount of food. Negative side, THE FLIES, EVERYWHERE.
VaderSaber1984 — Google review
First time wanting to try something new with my family. Nothing special about drinks, decently made. Food was okay despite the minor issues like not being notified about certain ingredients, the size of food portions and the photo of the slice of “Texas bread” with no butter. Waitress did not ask us once if our food was okay and much attitude (Paula latina maam) don’t mind the food but maybe try another location for a better experience.
N A — Google review
Service was great, but we had five people at our table and all of us agreed the food was bland. The pancakes were the only good-tasting item. Everything else seriously is not worth the money. The food is overpriced and it is really not good. I hate leaving a bad review, I really do, but unfortunately the food was just terrible despite the great service. My father had the Mega Breakfast and it was everything but mega. He said the food was plain. My mother had eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and pancakes. She said everything tasted plain. My grandmother had the omelet, which she said was flat and had no flavor. My husband had steak and eggs. He said the steak was the worst he has ever had and the eggs were undercooked. I had the breakfast burrito. It had uncooked onions and bell peppers on top soaked in salsa, and it was hard to eat. The taste simply was not good. Again, I truly do not like leaving bad reviews because I try to see the good in things, but the only good thing here was the service.
Andrea A — Google review
Normally the waffles are amazing, but yesterday must've been an off day. I've had omelettes, biscuits, pancakes - all have been alright. The service is always really great though - I don't think just any waitress could hack it. They're always very friendly, quick with requests and very accommodating of larger parties.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner this evening. We had potato skins appetizer, and taking most of them home for later. My wife ordered the Hawaiian chicken with Mac & cheese and sautéed button mushrooms. I had the Mile High Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and off the cob elote. For desert, we had fried cheesecake. The food and service were phenomenal!

The food was pretty good but the broccoli was a little undercooked and the steak was closer to a rare than a medium. I don't like to send food back because I just hate to think what the chef might do to it when I complain about something being undercooked - So, I just don't complain. I ate it and it was decent but they need to learn to temp their steaks
Jerry C — Google review
I travel quite a bit on business so I try new restaurants everywhere I go. For this place the first clue should have been the parking lot being fairly empty for dinner but I still gave the place a chance which was a mistake. The food was sub-par at best. I ordered the 16oz ribeye cooked medium with sautéed oniins abd mushrooms, sweet potato casserole, and Spanish style corn for my sides. While the ribeye was cooked to order atleast 6oz out of the 16oz was pure fat and the corn had so much vinegar in it that it was inedible. I sent the mushrooms and onions back to get sautéed a little long and literally got back 6 mushrooms and 5 onion pieces. The only positive about the restaurant was Colton the bartender. He made some good suggestions on which beers to try.
Lee S — Google review
We eat here frequently, and today was the first day we were disappointed. The steak was very rare and tough. It is like whoever cooked it did not know what they were doing. It seems like it was cooked on one side but not the other. Our appetizer came out at the same time as the meal. Not a huge deal, but we think the waitress forgot to put the appetizer order in, then she blamed the kitchen. If they place you in a back booth by the kitchen ask to be reseated. The alarm in the kitchen goes off constantly. We eat at Aspen Creek Grill often and always have had a great experience. We wanted to share these concerns so they can be rectified.
James V — Google review
Our server was personable and cute! The menu brags about their family raised beef. We had been traveling all day. We were looking forward to a nice chicken fried steak. The meat was anything but tender. There were many bites that couldn't even be chewed. My husband's was pink in the middle. I've never seen that in a chicken fried steak before. The batter on the steak and the onion rings was super crispy and tasted of old oil. It was near closing but I would rather be told something wasn't available than get a bad meal.

Customer service is top notch and with such an awesome variety of food options you’ll not have a bad meal. If you’re a sports fan you’ll love it too as there’s television everywhere and the bar is the perfect hangout. A must go visit restaurant here in Lubbock.

Twisted Root Burger Co. is a popular chain known for its gourmet beef, turkey, and vegan burgers. Customers flock to this restaurant primarily for their famous and delicious burgers, including the equally tasty vegetarian option. The establishment also offers spiked shakes and some locations even feature game meats on their menu. While the sweet tea flavored with watermelon received mixed reviews from customers, other items such as the Grilled Cheese Burger with a fried egg on top were highly praised for their deliciousness.
This was our first time at Twisted Root! This won't be our last. I just want to tip my hat to the cooks. That was probably the best burger I've ever had. And I'm not being dramatic. I asked for it well done. And the juices were still flowing out of the burger. I had the millionaire burger. Only order it if your ready to eat. I'm a bigger guy and I almost didn't finish. The cheddar fries were mint. Also you can't go wrong with the boneless chicken wings/chick bites. Flavor was in every bite. Cheese bites were on point as well. Great atmosphere! But just know it isn't a sit down and order restaurant. You order at the register and they call the name given to you. We were "Conan The Destroyer". I like that part. It's different. It better than a buzzer or just saying someone's name. All in all a great experience. We went on a Friday around 4:30pm. Oh I don't want to forget the great customer service from the women behind the counter taking the orders.
Brandon L — Google review
The atmosphere is awesome! Along with a full bar which is fun. There no reason this place shouldn't be packed with people. But I would agree with the reviews, service is slow. There was 1 family of 4 and about couple in there while we ordered. It took a little longer than expected for food. This is a FUN place but that's not the vibes the staff gives off. The food was decent, I would say its a little pricey for what you get.

Build your own burger is the way to go! Vegetarian patty, all the toppings, sauces and served with fries. What a great place to have dinner with friends. Don't forget to stop by the pickle bar - they have AMAZING pickles. I chose the Strawberry shake to go with my meal and it was delightful.

First time here! The staff is very nice :) Food was great! I got the basic burger with cheese and bacon. I ordered a side of homemade onion rings which were delicious. The different sauces were a great addition as well . I also ordered the Oreo milkshake- it was custard base and fluffy (good flavor but hard do sip out of a straw.) I definitely will be back
Fa-tia J — Google review
If I could give this review zero stars I would. I ordered a BigTex burger cooked medium, with no tomatoes, and an order of fries. 1. The burger was absolutely raw through and through. 2. There wasn’t any avocado on the burger and the onions were basically raw. 3. This might have been the smallest helping of fries I have ever received, or $5?? That is ludicrous. This was an absolute disgrace of a burger and fries meal.
Wesley B — Google review
It's an awesome burger and a very cool place to go hang out and have a drink. They have a special chefs buger that changes and is never the same. If you are driving thru Lubbock TX or visit, you have to stop by and try their burgers.

The customer service was amazing. The food options are great. I love how you build your own burger instead of it being built for you. The atmosphere is very fun. I also love how they tell the story of twisted root on a screen. They also had little games that you could play while you were waiting for your food. They had a full bar. And I also love how you could sit towards the front of the building and have the windows open. They had drawings on the bar of people that had came there. About six months ago me and My now husband went there and still saw our original initials. It was just all great experience. Oh, and I just love the pickle bar. We will definitely be going back.

I had lunch with a customer here around noon on 3/11. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. The staff were kind and friendly and kept the refills coming the entire visit. We started out with chips and queso. The chips were crisp and seasoned well, the salsa was flavorful but not spicy at all, and the queso was nice and cheesy with great flavor as well. Then I got the Monterrey Chicken for my meal. It was fantastic. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and seasoned wonderfully. The rice was also cooked expertly. The chicken was moist and juicy and exploded with flavors that danced well with the cheese, bacon, and avocado. Overall, this was a great place to take a customer for a lunch meeting. And we had a good time!

And the margarita mango tastes like alcohol not mango flavor, hamburger meat was dry my. Mother’s Day was horrible l never go back again.

Most definitely the worst fajitas I’ve had in my life. Look at the pictures and tell me that they do not look grey. And if you’re going to serve store bought tortillas, and least buy some decent ones. The only thing decent about this restaurant was the neon sign.

Nestled in the heart of Lubbock, Capital Pizza is a charming and rustic eatery that offers an impressive selection of gourmet pizzas and sandwiches, complemented by a full bar featuring an array of craft beers. Known for its generous portions and high-quality ingredients, this pizza haven delights with aromatic flavor combinations that cater to all palates, including lighter and vegetarian options. The signature scrunched-up crust adds a unique touch to each pie.
I'm a trucker in Lubbock of all places for a few weeks. Lubbock is a nice area for family owned business and community people, but too drastic of a change compared to Atlanta. Anyway, I was craving good food the whole time I was there. I finally looked to Google search for help and found this place. I'm a pizza head so this was just what I was looking for. I read the reviews and started navigation. It was early lunch time and the place was quiet. I placed my order, and when the first pizza came out, it looked & smelled so good I ordered another for the road since it was the last day of my contract. The pizza lives up to the 5star reviews, I love the crust. The sauce was thin on the pizzas which made it seem dry if it's not piping hot, so enjoy while it's hot!

First of all can we talk about this pickle chilton??? UHHHMAZING. The pizza rolls are definitely a fav of mine and the jalapeño popper pizza. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. Zach is the best bartender around. Zacky is definitely NOT wacky! 10/10 all around!😊

Ordered takeout over the phone, poor call quality - one large pizza. Was told it would be ready in an hour. We waited 90 minutes at goodline, heard nothing so we went over to check on the order. We had zero staff members check on us - had to approach the before and catch someone to ask about our order. Waited another 5 minutes and then we decided to leave and cancel the order. We shouldn't have to wait over 90 minutes for a pizza, and then when we arrive to try and check on it - get poor customer service.

Pizza was tremendous. Some of the best pie I have had anywhere in the last 8 months. Service was great, the vibe was wonderful. The wings could use some more meat on them. But we came for the pizza and it was absolutely incredible.
Darren B — Google review
If I could describe the perfect pizza crust and then have someone make it, I think it would turn out like the crust at Capital Pizza. Soft, chewy (in a good way), and warm on the inside, lightly crisped on the outside. The pizza is not soggy at all even though they don't hold back on toppings. There are lots of options for traditional and specialty pizzas, and a really extensive beer list. I typically love a BBQ chicken pizza, so I had to try the Smokehouse pizza which is similar but has pulled pork instead of chicken. It was SO GOOD. Meat lover's also was delightful and lived up to its name. The place is unassuming, there is parking available, and the service is very good. Update: It was so good we went back after a few weeks. This time, I had the special (Capital Cordon Bleu) and the flavor was everything I'd hoped for and more. The yellow topping is dijon drizzle. This place is consistently delicious. It'll be tough to try another pizza place in Lubbock in the future! Update 2: A few times, the crust has been a bit off (thinner and a little overcooked) but that is not the norm, as long as you don't order a thin-crust pizza (definitely opt for thick crust here!). This is still the best pizza place in Lubbock and it could rival pizza places anywhere. Update 3: Over the past year or so, the crust has been much more consistent (i.e., best crust I've ever had), and now (January 2025), they've updated their menu to include even more delicious options. I tried a half campfire, half hot honey pepperoni. Highly recommend both.

My husband said something was missing on the pizza but he likes his green chilies a bit spicier and these were mild. They were perfect for anyone who doesn’t like it can’t handle spicy. Delicious sauce. The cheese bread was perfect! Great service. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely come back here again, but try a different pizza next time.

Restaurant
Thai Pepper is a compact and casual eatery that offers familiar Thai dishes. It is well-known for its spicy entrees and attracts a busy lunchtime crowd. Located in the Hospital District, it operates every day except weekends, allowing customers to either dine-in or carry out their food. The menu features traditional favorites like fried tofu and Sa-Te, which are skewers of BBQ marinated with authentic Thai spices and served alongside refreshing cucumber salad.
Nice atmosphere, love how clean it was. The service was nice and just awesome. Food was absolutely delicious, ten out of ten WILL be back again.

Very welcoming family vibe from the staff. Bursting with flavor and a perfect level of spice to clear your sinuses. We would be happy to come back anytime. 😊

The servers are very nice, helpful, and quick. As an Asian American who traveled to Vietnam and Taiwan last month, this place is very sweet. I think it is a Lubbock “where you at got to make it sweet” for the American palate. The Pad Thai, sweet. The Thai green tea, super sweet. The curry? I liked it and will give it a 5 star for Lubbock. Everything else, 3 star for sweetness, but if the locals like it, then yes, keep doing that bc that is what they prefer — so make that paper (dinheiro). Overall I give it a Lubbock 4-star. There were a ton of people ordering for take out and dine-in. And I like to support small immigrant business so give it try.

I love it here! Food is tasty and affordable! Satisfy your cravings without breaking the bank! There are so many good food to try so there is a good reason to come back from time to time! Crispy noodles or chow mien is like a comfort food for me. Green tea drink is surprisingly sweet! I am used to drink it without sugar but this one turned out great! Perfect for Summer days to beat the heat. Will definitely check my attendance back there!

Great all around. Only complaint was that the pad thai was a little greasy. But other than that, amazing food, amazing service. Had Kool Special, Pad thai, and sticky rice with mango.
Sarah F — Google review
These are my opinions on Thai Pepper: The Good 👍 - The best Pad Thai in a 300 mile radius - Excellent curry, fried rice, and appetizers - Take out available - Near campus The Bad 👎 - Long wait times - Crowded seating area - Only open on weekdays - Sometimes closed for extended periods of time - Have to wait in line to pay when you leave - $10 card minimum There's no doubt Thai Pepper has amazing food, and if the food was all that matters this review would be five stars. Unfortunately I typically have to wait ~15 minutes to have a server bring the menu when dining in if they are busy, and they are always busy because they are hardly ever open. I love the food but I find that often when I plan to get lunch/dinner there with someone that we arrive and they are either closed or too full for the number of people in our group, which has led to annoying situations. Overall the cost of the food is reasonable and I would recommend coming here to anyone, but I find myself coming less and less because the hassle isn't really worth it. Update: They renovated the interior, which is nice, but I waited for 15 minutes standing awkwardly by myself and still didn't get a seat 🙄 Update 2: I got there and they closed for the evening, likely just to spite me. Well played Thai Pepper, until next time (maybe never since I graduate soon) Update 3: bumping to 4 stars, I went back, find me a better pad Thai I dare you

First of all, the young lady that helped me order (my first time there) was very friendly and patient, and she recommended the perfect meal for me. The food was very good, not too heavy, and it came out of the kitchen quickly. If you want great Thai, food, Thai Pepper is a great option.
Edward S — Google review
Whew, where do I begin. I want to start that I've been in Lubbock for 3 years and loved it until recently the service has declined severely. To being the overall ordering system is horrible, they take about an order every 5 minutes due to having walk in order at the register style. Along with this, the line is usually out the door so plan ahead at least an hour in advance just to order your food. Then, if you make the mistake like I did, and wait in the order line while trying to just pick up food from an online order you will be very rudely directed to the order pick up line that is labeled with maybe a 6 inch by 6 inch sign you probably missed when entering. It wasn't like this before, multiple times I entered and got my food from the order line however this time the staff wanted to run things different. The light skin lady at the front taking the order was rudely talking with the customers while the taller gentleman who had to deliver the food would apologize for it all. Not to mention, when you do get your food hopefully you got it to go. Due to the maybe 10 tables in the whole restaurant being taken, you may see yourself standing eating your food until someone gets up and leaves. We used to love coming here all the time for different occasions, but due to the abysmal service and price increases I can't see myself returning any time soon.

Meats, sides, and the banana pudding were incredible! Owners were super nice too. I’ve eaten bbq all over Texas. This place is now in my top 10. Highly recommend!

This brisket was hands-down my favorite in Lubbock! Perfect level of moisture without being runny or watery. The sausage was spicy and flavorful. My favorite thing about this place was their homemade BBQ! I had get a bottle to take home with me. I could drink this stuff - a strong tangy, sweet flavor. Highly recommend Tom and Bingo’s. A great place to get some excellent Texas BBQ from a locally owned establishment.
Rebecca O — Google review
Incredibly warm and welcoming environment. The staff are happy to see you and treat you like an old friend. The brisket is moist, packed with flavor, and pairs perfectly with their homemade BBQ sauce. Best BBQ in town! Can't recommend it enough.
Landon T — Google review
31 years wasted... I was born and raised in Lubbock and outside of 4 years living elsewhere I’ve somehow always found an excuse to not try this local staple while living here. That ended today. Real barbecue lovers should recognize that the small shack like demeanor is often where you find the best and this is no exception. Just a few chairs around the outside with small but adequate island for condiments in the middle is all this standout needs. The inside is decorated with aged and new local articles, cheer posters, and framed articles about the joint from multiple publications. Walked in to find a high school buddy ordering for his office and asked for his recommendation having known the guy behind the counter by name. I ordered “the Ian” (chopped bbq with jalapeño cheddar sausage) as well as the sliced brisket sandwhich to go. I came early so the wait was short and the anticipation was high. Hitting the condiment island, I had to check out the homemade sweet and standard bbq sauces. Both were fantastic in flavor, color, and viscosity. It was a great sign of what was to come. These sandwiches did not disappoint. Started with the sliced brisket and it was a perfect mix of lean to fatty pieces while every bite was perfectly smoked. The bun was perfectly fresh while being toasted to an exact golden brown. I opted with a healthy drizzle of the standard sauce and it was heaven together. The “Ian” was equally impressive with its nice balance of homemade jalapeño cheddar sausage and chopped brisket. The sausage carried a slow lingering heat that I found mild but some might find spicy if they have a low tolerance for spice. Pairing the sweet barbecue sauce with this one was a great choice. This place lives up to the hype and there is no surprise as to why they have been a must try for lunch barbecue in LUBBOCK. *make sure you ask for sauce or get some on the side because the sandwiches come dry otherwise*
Germain H — Google review
My son, a Tech student and BBQ aficionado, urged me to try Tom & Bingo’s and I wasn’t disappointed. The brisket was moist and flavorful, the sausage had a coarse texture and the right amount of spicy heat and the employees were helpful and kind. Anytime I’m in town, for certain I’ll return to Tom & Bingo’s!

Spur of the moment decision to stop in. I had a work friend who had a mustang in the car show so my son and I stopped by. We are huge car lovers. They had some awesome cars on display. We hadn’t eaten all day so we decided what the heck, we might as well. I got the Philly and he got one of the burgers. Legitimately the best Philly I have ever had. I got pepper jack cheese instead of Swiss and it was so good. We watched some football and pigged out. The service was pretty good. Had to wait a little long for the final check up to ask for the check and she didn’t refill my son’s tea but the food was so good we weren’t that bothered by it. Would be a really cool place to visit again. Lots of tvs, big seating areas, and just cool nostalgia pieces all around. Oh and it was under $30, no alcohol. So really worth it!

With a Greek influence, this humble counter-serve restaurant is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts. Their signature dish, the Christakis Burger, is packed with perfectly cooked beef, flavorful pastrami, and gooey cheese. It has gained rave reviews and is considered one of the best burgers around.
My husband and I went to try this place for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! Reminds me of the food back home on the west coast❣️ And just recently we took our kids to try the food here and they absolutely loved it! They devoured everything, which is rare😅 Also the staff are so sweet and friendly. Christakis, you’ve definitely got a hungry family of four that will choose to eat at your restaurant for burgers every single time❤️

Not the most delicious food I've ever eaten but it still tastes great and is both better quality and cheaper than a lot of fast food. Service is quick and people are nice that work here. The newly updated seating area and bathroom look great and it's nice they have a drive-thru. I will keep coming back here.

Very small and unassuming restaurant with amazing burgers. We needed something quick while on the road and saw this place had been rated high so we decided to check it out. The restaurant sits in a pretty canyon North of Lubbock. Love the decor and atmosphere. Had deviled eggs with brisket, a big delicious salad and chicken fried steak with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was great. Our server was Clinton and he did a great job 👍.

This place was a wonderful surprise. We sat on the patio, which was very cool. They even had live music playing, which was awesome. We did have to fight off the peacocks while we ate. It's not a big deal to me, but some may be uncomfortable with it. I had a whiskey flight to start and tried the brisket deviled eggs and the fried brisket Mac and cheese. DELICIOUS! The menu is large and has a very nice variety. We also tried two different steaks. Ribeye and filet. Both are very flavorful. This might seem a little out of the way, but you won't regret your visit.

Wow! What a great place to enjoy a drink, live music, peacocks, and cornhole while waiting for a table. The hostess was very welcoming and sweet about the wait time! Fun atmosphere. Good food . Great service. Friendly. Great outdoor seating. They have an event center too. Good to do reservations for larger groups.
Roger B — Google review
Wonderfully informal, but very worthy of praise. Honestly the prices are fair, and the menu selections cover a wide range of tastes. They do them all well and deliciously in my experience. I'm a local and I've been about twice this year. They have adult beverages and and the scenery is an experience in itself with peacocks that way from your hand and make their home in the Spirit Ranch the restaurant resides on. They offer outdoor dining adding to the unique aura, as well as indoors with the view from the large wall to wall windows showing off the same views the lake, shady grounds and lake. Staff is above average and the place is very clean. I can't encourage you much more to give it a try. Two people with a perfect dinner will cost in between $60 and $100 with tip and a couple of extras. Bring it home with a to-go plate, and I'll be willing to bet you'll go again next chance you get 😁
Wes G — Google review
A mix of more elegant vibe with reasonably priced food! Enjoyed the Cajun Shrimp quite a bit but felt a little loud with the live music and a little short with waitress. Would like to come back again in the future though

We were just passing through Lubbock and from the highway I can smell how good the barbecue was smelling so I had to stop to see how good it tastes. The pork rib was cooked very tender and delicious. I also got the brisket mac & cheese which was also good. My daughter liked the Frito pie.

Recommended by a few Lubbock locals to try Bigham Smokehouse. One can tell from the bee line from the drive through , this family own business since 1978 is popular with the local folk. If you’re from out of town, Expect humble, sweet hospitality from all the team members- managers or servers… smiles and laughs way going conversation. Some of the team members have been there since opening and they still afforded their best smiles to their guests. Love that about them. Family enjoys good bbq and Bigham’s did not disappoint. Pork ribs 👌🏽were moist and fall off the bone. The moist brisket was amazingly succulent 👌🏽👌🏽and packed with flavor, and the smoked turkey … nothing short of well seasoned , smokey and tender. Brigham’s has got our vote. We’re coming back in the future for the chicken that sold out faster than one could cook ‘em!! That says how good it gets out here. Thank you for a lovely dining experience and hospitality and sweet smiles even though it’s been a blessed long day for y’all !! 🫶🏽❤️🫶🏽❤️ We are going to check out the musicians on your LP wall!!

This place has good food, no argument there but the portions keep getting smaller and smaller. It’s pretty much to a point where I feel I’m not getting my moneys worth. $16 for 2 slices of turkey and a slice and a half of brisket is not worth the money.

I've had BBQ from many of the 'famous' pit BBQ places around the great state of Texas but I believe Bigham's is the BEST! Service is exceptional, Food is consistently great and Serving sizes are always just right! All the other places I've been seen to trick you into over purchasing meats and charge for each individual item. With Bigham's the meal price is what it is.

First time here for Lubbock barbecue. This came on a recommendation from my best friend as one of the best places for barbecue in lubbock! I got the two meat platter with chopped brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage, and it did not disappoint. Drizzle that stuff with their spicy barbecue sauce and you have a winner winner winner. My palate prefers a little hotter in spice, but there's nothing wrong with what I had today. The okra was just right, tender and crispy and the onion rings were great, golden brown. It comes with a slice of Texas toast and you can add pickles, pickled peppers or anything else on the side that you wish for condiment.

Great place but we were waiting for our waiter for long periods of time (to get our drinks and to get the check) The toast on the chicken fried steak was hard and no butter. Besides that not a bad place to dine.
Chloe C — Google review
Food was okay but not very well seasoned. Very bland. Service was okay but not the best waitress would walk by multiple times leaving the drinks empty. Had to ask multiple times even when leaving the empty cup on the side of the table visible. As far as the restaurant they have a touch tunes box where you can play music but you’re not allowed to play anything besides country. They have all other genres blocked so that was a bit of a let down. Guess you could say it’s not a very inclusive place. Wouldn’t really recommend.
Kate — Google review
We ordered potato skins, they were awful! Our waitress ignores us & rolls her eyes when ordering. If everyone receives service like this, I can completely understand why they don't get more business

Stopped in on a Thursday night and the place was jumping for karaoke night. It’s more of a country and western vibe but the DJ does try to mix it up with some other genre’s of music. The bartenders were good and the food was good as well. I would recommend coming here if your into C&W.
Michael V — Google review
I was expecting a food place with a bar, not a bar with food. It was a Friday and there was a 5 cover for entertainment, not a big deal…..but they made it a big deal. In the middle of my meal, a member of staff, not my wait person, specifically and personally told me there was a 5 cover. About 15 minutes earlier the female staff member with a back 40 shirt on was seated at the bar drinking shots and goading another patron to get me to move to the bar seat next to him. I thought it was weird and I told them I was good where I was……eating my dinner at the time. It seemed deliberate and rude that she mentioned with some extra attitude that they would be adding a 5 cover charge to my bill if I didn’t leave in 30 minutes. Santa Fe chicken, mashed potatoes and a salad. Meh, pretty bland and definitely not worth the hassle. I will not be “back“.
David M — Google review
Usually we enjoy coming here but today was a different experience The owner wasn’t working which explains why the employees were sitting & laying in a booth. All employees were on their phones all the time. Bartender was enjoying conversation with her two friends. The draft ultra was flat, had a funky taste. Hamburger was overcooked & dry. Onion rings were grease. It’s sad young adults do not take pride in where they work & receive a paycheck. They definitely were not earning their wage today.

The food was extraordinary, and the service too! Place was worth every cent. Had the calamari, not standard calamari with chefs flair seasoning and light spicy sauce & guacamole included in plate. Then, the cowboy shirt steak tacos with oaxca cheese fried into the flour tortilla shell with non-standard veggies and queso. Definitely upscale from standard calamari and tacos. Outstanding!

Fantastic food! The fig bacon jam goat cheese croquettes were a perfect balance of flavors. The skirt steak in the skirt steak tacos has been slow cooked to melt in your mouth perfection. This dog-friendly spot provides a fun and casual atmosphere perfect for laid-back dining.
Excellence on every level! The food is homemade with love. Drinks are made and infused with quality ingredients. Best hashbrown I’ve ever had, chopped chives and seasonings took it to another level. Thank you for such dedication to superb dining. Live bands also with a heated pool a few steps away.

Our 1st time there and we were confused on where the entrance was. The doors off Broadway are the BACK DOORS. When you enter, go to the opposite side of the building to be seated. Menu is small and pricey. We had an order of Korean BBQ wings that were so GOOD. Then we had 2 burgers but they were salty. Our waitress was Awesome, it had a nice atmosphere, but it's not a kids place to eat.

We just finished a two night stay at Cotton Court and were so excited to try the restaurant. The first night we had cheese curds, scallops, elk chops, and the steak and Brie melt. The appetizers were good. The entrees were lacking. The elk chops were so salty we weren’t able to eat them. However, our servers were so great and the atmosphere was fun so we decided to try again the second night. We tried different apps and entrees this time and it was a similar experience. We got the charcuterie, peach wings, the steak and the quail. The peach wings were excellent. The charcuterie was disappointing. The quail was good. The grains were served with whole peppercorn mixed in and those bites were unpleasant. The steak was again so salty that we couldn’t eat it. My husband tried the blueberry pie and enjoyed it. The menu was extremely hit or miss. Overall, the service is the only thing that would keep us coming back. James, Trent, Carolina, and Sydney were all so accommodating, kind, and fun. Five stars for service. Two stars for food.

This was a great place for a delicious lunch in Lubbock! This beet 🫜 salad broke my brain— I don’t like beets and I LOVED this creation!! 😋 The presentation of everyone’s food was 10/10. All of the staff were sweet and very helpful.

Food seems fresh and mostly tasty, somewhat limited menu but prob appropriate for a hotel restaurant. They do have live music on occasion and great tables / seats to enjoy and listen. Drinks are alright, we thought they could use some better presentation & fresher flavor options. If they would make their marg mix fresh and offer a refreshing margarita or drinks with fruits & large solid ice cubes, huge lift! Overall seemed a bit pricey for the taste but great atmosphere. Good place to sit and talk or meet friends.

My husband and I went here for lunch on our anniversary. We had been here previously and enjoyed it. This time we were not even offered a drink menu when seated. We did enjoy the burgers we had for lunch. When we inquired about what the seasonal creme brûlée was we were told it was lemon. Being Fall now I might have expected something a bit different. We decided to order one to take home and enjoy later, as I had an upcoming afternoon appointment. When it was brought to us, it only filled 1/2 of a pretty small styrofoam cup that you might put a side condiment in. To say I was disappointed would be kind. I believe the dessert was at least $8 maybe more and MAYBE we could each get 2 small bites out of it. Not really worth it. I'm not sure we will be going back anytime soon.

An absolute must! The atmosphere, staff, drinks and food are really what makes the experience so amazing. Huge shoutout to Bekah and the rest of the staff! They're not just great at what they do, they're genuinely amazing people who make you feel right at home. Our go to before a show at Buddy Holly Hall or any kind of event downtown!

I’ve eaten here half a dozen times over the past year when my husband and I have stayed at the Cotton Court. The food is good, although the menu is somewhat limited. Our latest visit featured tasty but consistently too salty food. Cauliflower, a burger, and chicken wings were all over-salted - someone in the kitchen had a heavy hand with the salt tonight. But the ambience is fun and the service is always friendly and competent. Bonus: the poblano pimiento cheese on my burger was YUM.

The Shack is a rustic BBQ spot that offers both plates and sandwiches in a cozy setting. With its full bar, live music, and outdoor seating, it's the perfect place to enjoy a night out with friends. The restaurant has a food truck vibe and operates as a permanent location. Customers rave about their small shack pack, which can feed four people comfortably. The food is delicious and affordable, with options like brisket and various sauces.
This was an amazing find. It's very unassuming, but you could smell the BBQ from a mile away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The BBQ was flavorful and the ribs were some of the best I've ever had. This is a very great spot to visit. I will be back next time we are in town. Photos curtsey of one of our part members.

Loved the live music out on the patio. It was warm but the music was fun. The deviled eggs with brisket was my favorite dish tonight. Good flavor plus’s brisket! The meat in our main dishes was a bit dry, both the brisket and turkey. The pork ribs and both types of sausage were delicious. The potato salad and Mac n cheese were good. Skip the coleslaw unless you really love pepper.

Brandy, the GM was fantastic! We drove from San Antonio to try West Texas barbecue for the first time and I was not let down! They had tons of different sauces to choose from, which I’m not use to. The brisket and turkey were hands down some of the best smoked meats I’ve ever had! She also hooked us up with the cream cheese apple pie to try, which was phenomenal! Come hungry, the portions are huge and delicious! We will be back again next time, Brandy! Thank you Lubbock TX!

Upon walking in, I believe it to be small, after entering it was much larger than I had expected. The cleanliness of The Shack was very taken care of. The friendliness provide by my server Alyssa, and the rest of the staff was comforting and welcoming. I ordered the King Daddy plate. Beef ribs (3), lean brisket, jalapeño summer sausage, mac and cheese, and loaded potato salad. I also order an appetizer of jalapeño poppers, and a kids order of fritz pie. The presentation of the food was made well, and the foods taste was exquisite. For dessert they offer plenty of options, I choose a pecan pie which was incredible. If you're visiting the big city of Lubbock, make sure you take the time to come eat at this wonderful BBQ place, The Shack. Thank you.

Got the 3 meat plate with sliced brisket, jalapeño cheese sausage, and ribs. The ribs have good flavor and are tender. The brisket is thick cut and has good smoke flavor. The sausage has good spice and cheese mixture. The potato salad is a solid side choice with the right amount of mustard. The beans are very good.

Pho District 1 is a family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in Lubbock, Texas that has been serving authentic dishes since 2022. Visitors praise the good service, food, and atmosphere. The owner's attentive and friendly approach adds to the dining experience. Customers recommend trying various pho options such as seafood, oxtail, spicy, and meatball pho. The restaurant is described as clean and pleasing with an enjoyable atmosphere.
I was passing through Lubbock wondering if they had Pho, had a craving, and this was the place I picked and im glad I did too! Great service, great food, the pho tastes so homemade; it was absolutely awesome and took me by surprise! Will definitely come back and recommend to everyone passing through Lubbock. Owner Brian came out and checked on me even and asked how everything was, very chill sincere guy. 100/100 from me!

Very small and cute place. The staff is very welcoming and the atmosphere is very nice with the music they have going in the background. It’s not too loud, so you can enjoy some slight conversation as well. The pho was delicious. My first time trying it and I ordered the Pho Special/Pho Dac Biet. Definitely want to go back and try the Pho Seafood Combination/Pho Hai San!

Order pho on your own. Vegetables served were not fresh and very little. Mung bean sprouts have funky smell and basal was nonsense to eat. Pho supposed to have three kind of meats as I order but I have only one piece flank but all brisket. Brisket have funky smell while I chow. It may prepared for a long time before I order. I will not recommend this place.

I was greeted by the young host, and since I was dining alone, I was seated in a side section that was empty. I’ve asked if I can be seated in the main dining area, but was told that they keep that area for larger groups. It wasn’t full and I do think that a customer’s satisfaction should’ve been considered and better served, but I didn’t argue. A different young server came to take the order, and I must point out that both that interacted with me showed the least willing to be there, and do what they paid to do… pho was nice, although - as you can see in the pictures, they skimp a little on the add ons (sprouts, basil leaves). However there was a big portion of the noodles in the bowl. Not even ones I was approached to be asked if everything is ok, if I need anything, etc. seems like a nice restaurant, but service need to be better in my honest opinion.

This was our first time eating at Pho District 1. When you first walk in, it is a very busy place. We got seated right away. Our waitress was very prompt. Our food was ordered correctly, and the food came out really fast for a busy place. In my opinion, the food was very flavorful, and the beef was very tender. I will definitely be returning to this place! I will attach pictures of what we ordered, which are: B1. Bun Thit Bo Nuong- Rice Vermicelli with grilled beef & CC2. Com Chiên Thịt Bò- Fried rice with tenderloin beef
Patz — Google review
I’m posting this review on both Google and Yelp, as I’m not sure which platform the restaurant uses. 1. Our experience with our server was extremely disappointing. She was unprofessional, inattentive, and dismissive throughout our visit. I requested chili oil several times, but she kept bringing only a very small amount. It wasn’t until the end of the meal—after about a ten-minute wait—that she finally provided a reasonable portion. After we paid, we asked for a receipt, but she walked away, and we had to ask another server to assist us instead. 2. The fried rice was very underwhelming—it was essentially plain white rice with no egg or vegetables, even though we paid extra for it. Additionally, when I received the raw beef for my pho, the pieces were extremely small, almost like scraps from the bottom of a container. The pho itself is good, but I’ve noticed they tend to provide larger portions when you order takeout compared to dining in. 3. We were also charged for chili oil and another item that we didn’t order. Thankfully, the owner resolved the issue promptly and refunded us in cash, which is the only reason this review is two stars instead of one. Overall, while the pho tastes great, the service and food quality during this visit were unacceptable for the price. I appreciate the owner addressing the billing issue, but I hope management takes steps to improve both customer service and consistency in food preparation.

I stopped by this place for dinner with family while staying in the area for a few days, and I'm happy I did! The food here is delicious and fairly priced. You have the option of ordering pho with your own custom selection of up to 3 meats, which I went with - I ordered the custom pho with brisket and meatballs (pic attached). What I liked here is that they gave us each the perfect amount of beansprouts and other additions on the side; many other pho locations often pile on the beansprouts, and we may not use them all. Though, I'm sure you could ask for more here if you wanted! Our server, Mori, was super nice and friendly, which we appreciated, and the place overall had a warm, quiet atmosphere. This place is also located near a Market Street, making it convenient to go shopping right after having lunch or dinner. While we aimed to visit different places each day while we were in the city, we found ourselves wanting to visit this restaurant again by the end of our trip. Would highly recommend!
Alex K — Google review
That was the veggie portion I received with my pho. When I asked the server for more, he said there would be an extra charge—but gave me a tiny bowl at no cost. However, the owner came by to check on the booth behind me, SKIPPED over me entirely, and then went to the booth in front of me to ask how everything was. This was my first and last visit. If you want amazing pho with a generous portion of veggies, take a trip to Houston! Even Dallas has better pho than this place.

I was craving seafood so we stopped here to try something new. I had lobster mac and cheese. It was amazing. My oldest son had the crab fries. They were really good also. My youngest had fried fish. He loved it also. The waiter was so nice and met every need we had. We will be back next time I get the seafood craving. This was a wonderful place to eat.

Nice, clean building with friendly service and GREAT food with a cajun flair. Menu is not large but offers several different boils, fried fish and daily specials. I had the salmon croquettes - very similar to how I make them and very tasty. My hubby got the grill salmon and it also was very good!! We will definately be coming back to try more!!!

Large portions, spectacular service, slow meal. The bowl of gumbo is enormous and full of fresh vegetables, the soup base is spicy and delicious. 😋😋 Rayden was our server and he was on fire! Answering the phone, taking orders, paying people out. Best service we've had in a long time.

Excellent!! Highly recommend! The food is excellent and the environment is wonderful. The King Crab legs were so delicious. We have finally found our go-to seafood restaurant in Lubbock!! Ninety-Two Bakery & Café is a charming French-inspired establishment in Lubbock, offering a delightful array of freshly baked pastries and breads, along with artisanal coffees. The café aims to create a warm and inviting "third place" for patrons, distinct from home and work. With its cozy ambiance reminiscent of a French country farmhouse, the café provides an ideal setting for casual meetings or simply unwinding after a long day.
Came by to get some work done. There Americano was fantastic. I had it with a croissant and was gigantic and well prepared. At lunch I purchased the soup and sandwich combo. Atmosphere is great and they are continually clean up as people come and go. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a cup of coffee, or for your meal. And if you meed to get some work done, it is great for that too.

A very nice place to study. The food is superb, the customer service is great, and the customer base is very respectful. Many of the customers are regulars. I frequent this cafe and have yet to find another cafe that compares. I have traveled to several cafes in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, and Washington D.C. Every cafe is always missing something. This cafe serves food, has quality beverages, a great atmosphere, is exceptionally clean, and plays Christian music in the bathrooms. The only downside is that they close early (5pm), so there's no evening coffee lounge. Other than that, this place is great! I highly recommend!

Absolutely adored this find during our stay in Lubbock! Fantastic, friendly and QUICK service! We loved the atmosphere. What really stole the show was the Sourdough bread in the bread basket! WOW! The Butter Croissant was the size of my face practically. The Salted and Honey Butters were Devine. I could tell they were homemade butters! We also had the Coffee Flight and chose to try Creme Brulee, 92, Oatmeal Cookie, and Maple Bourbon. For me, 92 was my fav then Creme Brulee followed right behind. Thank you for such great hospitality on our last morning in Lubbock!

My favourite cafe in Lubbock. Their coffee is of course delicious and the tea menu is also great! I love their half sandwich and cup soup set. It's a great value. Their pastries are chef's 💋 I love their interior too. I feel cozy and luxury.
Nami G — Google review
The café itself is absolutely adorable—such a cozy atmosphere! It was busy when I went on a Sunday (which is true for pretty much everywhere in Lubbock), but I felt like they handled the rush well. The coffee is delicious, and I especially love the seasonal flavors. That said, the food was a letdown. I ordered the gluten-free avocado toast from the breakfast menu, and it was horrible. The bread wasn’t toasted, the avocado was clearly prepackaged and sparse, the arugula was mostly stems instead of leafy greens, and the egg came out hard-boiled instead of poached. I really appreciate that they make the effort to offer allergy-friendly options, but when you’re paying extra for gluten-free, the quality should match the standard menu.
Chyanne M — Google review
Everything was delightful, from the cute decor to the cozy vibe. The food was delicious (except the baked eggs- too hard for my taste). The bread was phenomenal and the coffee was solid. Will definitely visit again if I ever get back to Lubbock.

I loved my brunch at Ninety-Two Bakery & Cafe! I am gluten- and dairy-free and was thrilled that they had a GF & vegan lemon poppyseed loaf available. It was on its own cutting board and several inches away from the other pastries in the window, and they had tongs for serving the individual lemon loaf slices. I enjoyed my salad, and my husband (no food allergies) had the Italian sandwich. He was impressed with the quality ingredients, but wished the sourdough was layered with some type of mayo/aioli sauce because the sandwich was a bit dry. We both loved the lavender lemonade!

I come here every week, and it’s truly the highlight of my routine. The coffee is always excellent, but what makes this place stand out is the people. The staff is so kind and welcoming, and they even know me by name now—it feels like more than just a coffee stop, it feels like community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for not just great coffee, but a place where you feel at home.

The Overton Hotel & Conference Center in Lubbock is a modern hotel that offers upscale amenities such as an outdoor pool, Texas-inspired dining, and a complimentary airport shuttle. The on-site restaurant features an elegant menu with fine wine and drinks from the open bar, while the lounge offers handcrafted alcoholic beverages. Guests praise the friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable and well-maintained rooms, and excellent dining experience at the Pecan Grill.
I’ve never been to Lubbock and was in town for business. First I want to say, even though Lubbock is in the middle of nowhere, it was a great little town with lots of nice people. The area around the Texas Tech campus has recently gone through some renovations and it was a lovely area. The hotel was located right in the middle of that area. So location was great. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated that they put five or so pillows on the bed with various firmness, it allowed me to find one that was just right for my head and neck. I enjoyed the bar-restaurant each day and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The only thing I’d change up is the way the bathroom shower curtain just barely stays in the shower. I had to be careful each time it remained on the inside or I’d end up flooding my bathroom floor. But that is a very small detail. Otherwise I’d highly recommend the hotel. My view from the 10th floor was great.

I’ve been to many bars and I’ve never had great service like the one I’ve experienced here. Claire is absolutely amazing. I told her I wanted a cherry vodka sour and she did one better. I’ve never had a drink hit my taste buds the way this drink did. She was very funny, friendly and engaging. I can’t believe she is new. She will definitely bring business into this hotel with her winnable personality. Thank you Claire for making my stay just 10 times better. You are very lucky to have her joining the team.

We were there for a two night stay, My Wife had an out patient surgery the same day. We were gone all day, Just to come back around 4pm to a room that was not cleaned. You would expect this kind of poor service from a place that has a Big 6 on the outside building, But not the Overton Very disappointed !!!!!!!
Tom M — Google review
This was our 4th stay here and sadly probably our last. Each time we thought maybe it was just an off day and wanted to give another chance. The customer service is always great! We enjoy the restaurant and the lounge! The location is great. The lobby area is nice and makes you think you’re staying somewhere top notch. However, the rooms are awful!! Cleanliness is lacking, there’s no water pressure, and everything is out dated. We stayed on the “preferred levels” hoping that would make the difference. This time there were dirty wash cloths hanging on the cheap shower curtain rod, there was a strip of fake eyelashes in the sheets, the shampoo bottle had makeup on it from a previous guest, and the bathroom tray with glasses on it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. It’s terribly disappointing because it could be such a nice place.
Kristina R — Google review
Disappointing Stay—Not Worth the Hype I was really looking forward to staying at the Overton given its reputation and proximity to Texas Tech. Unfortunately, my experience left a lot to be desired. What went wrong: Cleanliness was subpar. My room looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while — stained sheets, grimy bathtub, dusty furniture, and leftover food still in the mini-fridge when I arrived. Maintenance issues everywhere. The air conditioner barely worked, some lamps didn’t turn on, and the bathroom looked tired and in need of renovation. Service quality was inconsistent. Staff at check-in seemed rushed, and housekeeping requests were brushed off. Food and restaurant: big disappointment. I couldn’t even get someone to take my room service order. I spent over 20 minutes being transferred back and forth between the front desk and the restaurant before giving up. I finally had to order through Uber Eats just to get dinner. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because, after a full day of traveling, I wanted the convenience of eating in my room. This was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. Overpriced for what you get. For the rates charged, I expected far better. Instead, the hotel felt dated and poorly managed. Bottom line: The Overton has potential, but it falls far short in execution. Poor cleanliness, weak service, and a total failure on something as basic as room service made my stay frustrating. Unless things drastically improve, I’d recommend looking elsewhere in Lubbock.
Torrey B — Google review
The hotel was great everywhere but the actual room. The bathroom was not clean, one roll of toilet paper was provided and the shower curtain had mold and shower floor was dirty. The mirrors and furniture had not been dusted/wiped down and duvet had a stain. I recommend all to check the entire room before getting comfortable for your stay. I stayed three nights and not once did anyone stop to replace towels or TP, maybe that’s the new thing…??..
D * — Google review
We were lucky to arrive for an early week stay at the Overton. Clean rooms, friendly staff and overall a quiet atmosphere. Less than a 5 minute walk to various restaurants. Buffalo Wild Wings is a popular chain known for its wings, tenders, and burgers with a variety of sauces ranging from sweet to very spicy. The restaurant often offers wing specials on certain days, making it an attractive option for those seeking good deals.

Waitstaff seemed like they could care less. Watched a waiter punch a wall 3 times. Only good waitress there is Melinda. Asked to speak to a manager and upon speaking to the manager it was clear where the problem started. Manager could have cared less that her staff and kitchen failed to due their part. Manager Liz brushed us off like we were nothing and took zero accountability. Will not be coming back to this location.

Worst customer service. Had to go and serve my own refills, food took forever to come out even with almost the entire building being empty. When we finally got the food it was cold. Half of our order was wrong. Didn't even get ranch for our wings. Wolforth BWW was better.
Frank R — Google review
I had a really disappointing experience here. The food took a long time to come out, and on top of that, our drinks were never refilled. I sat there and watched one waitress taking care of about 10 tables all by herself while another employee just walked around, staring at us waiting for refills, and only wiped down tables instead of helping. The poor waitress was clearly stressed and overwhelmed due to being understaffed. To make matters worse, this was opening week for college football in a college town, you’d think the restaurant would be prepared for the rush. Instead, service was slow, frustrating, and unorganized. Definitely not the game day experience we were hoping for.

Evie Mae's BBQ in Lubbock, Texas has gained a well-deserved reputation for its exceptional barbecue. It was recognized as one of the top 10 barbecue restaurants by Texas Monthly and listed among the best 50 BBQ places in Texas. The tender brisket, flavorful ribs with a perfect smoke ring, and delicious German sausage make it a standout. The sides and desserts also shine, completing the dining experience.
Top 10 well deserved! Showed up an hr before they opened and 1st in line. By 1030 the line was 30 ppl and by 11am at least 70 in line. Very friendly people work here and the brisket is top 10 worthy. The 4 meat plate special is enough to feed two(3ribs, 1/4lb pulled pork, 1/3lb brisket, 1 link) if you are in line most of the line is indoors after they open. I love how they skip on the wafers and give you the whole cookie for the banana pudding!

I am glad we were able to stop by here on a recent trip! It was not our favorite bbq if we are being honest, we visit a lot of the top 50. The sausage casing was very tough and the beef didn’t have much smoke flavor to us. BUT, it WAS the best pie that I have EVER had! I wish they shipped them because we live far away! SO good!

Okay, this place is Texas BBQ to boot! Hands down my favorite place to eat while visiting Lubbock. While this BBQ joint is just outside of Lubbock, it’s a super quick drive to get there. No more than 15 minutes from anywhere. Be warned that this place is so good and popular there is almost always a 30 minute wait to get in. It’s a long line, but it’s worth it! If you plan to eat here, don’t get here much past 11:00 AM or it will be closer to 12:30 before you get through the line. They have all the right meat choices. Brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage, etc… the sides… that’s where it’s at. Green chili cheese grits?! Ummm, yes please. Potato casserole is legit. They have 5 different pies and other cheese cakes and pudding. The whole experience is great. The people are awesome, both the staff and people waiting in line. They have a separate bakery and you can preorder pies, etc. also there is outdoor seating when the weather is appropriate. This was a highlight of our trip. I would highly recommend you stop here to eat. It’s BBQ that’s worth the trip and the wait. Best place to eat in Lubbock.

OH MY GOSH!!! First of all I will try to make this short but that may be difficult. We have been waiting to try this place for months. We knew it was going to be good due to the raving reviews but this place is a must if you want guaranteed great food. In one of the videos we watched the owners talked about wanting for everyone to love and eat good food and you can taste the love in the food! (The beans are so amazing.) They love there restaurant and we love it too! Can't wait to try more on the menu. Don't let the line scare you. Its worth the wait and they are working hard and fast! The line is worth the wait and every person in that line knows that! Thanks for the great bbq.

Mind blown ! Never had such good brisket and burnt ends. Ribs and sausages were good too but the brisket was the absolute star. This was our last meal on a reunion trip to Lubbock after 16 years and was just the perfect way to end. Wish I could fly some of that bbq sauce back home. Do consider packaging bottles :)

Really good! Brisket was awesome. Could have been smokier but it was fantastic. Ribs were unbelievable. They gave me so much food, I thought they made a mistake. Free beer while you wait. Line was outside the door when we left but the line moves fast. Huge selection of desserts. Tons of sdes also. The grits were off the charts! We were full and took a box of leftovers home too. Highly recommended!!!

A fantastic spot for top-tier BBQ! We arrived around 11:15 am on Sunday and while the line was about 30 people deep, it moved super fast. They even offer free beer (Yuengling and Busch) while you wait, which is a nice touch. The BBQ itself was incredible; the brisket was great and the ribs were impressive. The #6 family platter is a seriously good deal and comes with a ton of food. For sides, don't miss the corn and the baked potato casserole. The coconut cream pie was fantastic and fluffy, though the banana pudding was just okay. It was a little warm inside, but honestly, it was a small price to pay for such a great experience. It's easy to see why this place has been in the top 10 for the last decade!

Great BBQ. Was extremely busy, but worth it. The brisket was tasty, ribs are some of the best I have had. Cornbread is yummy, and grab a dessert...all is great. Staff was amazing. Would recommend for anyone visit the Lubbock area.

Nestled in a vibrant locale, The Reserve Culinary Tavern is a must-visit for food enthusiasts and casual diners alike. This charming pub offers an extensive menu that caters to diverse tastes, featuring mouthwatering options like grilled bacon, fried chicken, and even spaghetti. Don’t miss out on their delightful waffles and Brezeln while you unwind! The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a refreshing drink—whether it’s wine, beer, or mimosas—as you savor your meal.
Menu has lots of different options. I got the 14oz ribeye. It was delicious. Service was great. I called ahead to ask for hours of operation. The call was quickly answered and I was kindly greeted. When we arrived- the hostess greeted us at the door and was very polite and easy to talk to. Connie was our waitress. Definitely one of the best waitress I’ve had. She answered all of our questions (we had A LOT) gave us plenty of recommendations. She also kept our drinks full. She came to check on us just the right amount. I didn’t feel rushed to finish and I didn’t feel neglected by her. Perfect balance. I’m very happy with the food and service. My only recommendation/request would be better steak knives.

The service was excellent! The queso was wonderful, but some of the chips were rancid. The Tavern burger was very dry (both patty and buns), but the sweet potato tots were good. The pulled pork tacos were very smoky with good spice from the jalapenos and fresh salsa.

Our waitress was prompt and kind. She cheerfully overcame my food fussiness, and the dish was great. I would consider this to be an upscale bar atmosphere with a much better menu than your typical bar. I added pictures to show the changes in the menu and prices. Most things have gone up $1-$4.

Always a fun place to go! My family has met here many times in the past year and a half. We have enjoyed it every time! The food is great! My husband and brothers in law have enjoyed the chicken fried bacon. When they do not have it as an appetizer, it can usually be found on a burger. Yesterday, my sister and I had the blistered shishito peppers and jalapeno poppers - yum! Their entrees are always good! We have always had excellent and friendly service! The atmosphere is great, and it is a fun place to get together with friends and/ or family! We will definitely go back again.

We were seated right away for an early dinner on a Saturday, and the place was already buzzing before 5pm. Service was quick and our waiter was really good. He offered me a sample of a beer I hadn't had before prior to committing to a dull pint. There were quite a few options for each course & very good drink selection. We had chicken fried bacon for an appetizer and that ended up being much tastier than I anticipated. Mains were salmon with Cole slaw and sweet potato tots for me and meat lover's pizza for the mister. We enjoyed both. The booth was a bit weird (seats kind of tilted in and leg rest was quite a way down), but I really liked that it was sectioned off so we could hear our conversation easily. Several basketball games were on, always a plus.

Have been for brunch twice. Scrambled eggs both times were fake eggs and cold. Everything was prepared food from Costco and wasn’t even served warm. Drinks and atmosphere were great but plan to wait quite a while for your food.
Katrena F — Google review
We got the waffle batter bacon as an appetizer, the chicken fried beni, and the glazed donut nashville hot. I actually ordered the donut smash burger but the waitress misheard me and I got the glazed donut Nashville hot and it was a happy accident. The fried bacon appetizer seemed a little overcooked and probably would have been great if it wasn’t. The glazed donut Nashville hot was awesome except for the subpar tater tots. Definitely a memorable dish though! The chicken fried Beni was good overall but the eggs were cold and unseasoned. The biscuit was the stand out and the chicken was tasty! So many other interesting things on the menu that we’d like to try, for sure! We sat on the patio and the atmosphere was great! We wish the waitress would have checked on us a bit more but service was good. Would go back!

Nestled near the Buddy Holly Center, Triple J Chophouse & Brew Co. is a Texas-inspired steakhouse and brewery that has been a staple in Lubbock since 2006. The menu boasts an array of delectable options, from succulent steaks to fresh seafood and wood-fired pizzas. Guests can also enjoy live music while savoring their meals.
I had lunch here with a customer around 11:30 on 4/29. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. Our server, Trip, introduced himself and answered all of our questions. He did a great job taking care of us and keeping our drinks refilled. I ordered the pork chop with a salad and mushrooms for my side. The mushrooms were phenomenal, but I am a big fan of mushrooms anyway. And they went perfectly with the delicious mashed potatoes underneath the chop. The pork chop itself was juicy and tender and seasoned wonderfully. The salad was fresh and crisp and paired nicely with the vinaigrette I chose as my dressing. Overall the meal was outstanding. The only feedback I would give would be that it was pretty loud, and we had to repeat ourselves quite often during our conversation. Other than that, we enjoyed a delicious meal and had a good time!

Just had an amazing dining experience at Triple J🔥 The steak was absolutely spot on perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in their cuts and preparation. But what really made the evening special was our waiter, Trip he was outstanding! Friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. If you're in Lubbock and craving a great steak with top tier service, Triple J is a must. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So glad that a friend recommended Triple J. The service was perfect. Friendliest staff I’ve encountered in a long time. I was going for a semi light lunch so I tried the steak tip salad. The steak was seasoned and grilled to perfection. The dressing was very well made as well. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Very welcoming restaurant. I had the Honey Pepper Ribeye and was possibly the best steak I’ve had in a while. Very crappy sweet potato fries & cheesy, cheesy mac & cheese. TTU game day and everyone was wearing scarlet. My next choice will be the chicken fried steak.

Australian restaurant
Outback Steakhouse is a lively Australian-themed restaurant chain that specializes in serving up hearty steaks, seafood, and other classic steakhouse dishes. While many diners rave about the delicious offerings, experiences can vary. Some guests have encountered tough steaks or delivery mishaps but were pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and quick resolutions from staff. For instance, one diner faced an issue with their order but was impressed when the manager personally delivered a fresh meal to apologize for the inconvenience.
Edit.... they were amazing after we had such a bad experience! They completely made up for it! It has been a year since we have bothered to get Outback. It's my birthday and Outback was my favorite place to eat so we thought we were try it out again... total disaster! First we ask fir it to be delivered (through the Outback website). Almost 10 minutes after to was supposed to have arrived we called and no one had even picked it up. I understand that was a Door Dash issue but it would have been nice for someone to let us know. Got it home... everything was very soggy and very very cold. And again NO RANCH when we asked for extra. The burger was under cooked and there wasn't even bacon on the cheese fries. We paid over $80 and honestly McDonald's would have been more satisfying.

TERRIBLE food and service. Ordered a simple to-go burger. Well done/no tomato, and got home to a very soggy PINK burger *with* tomato. The mashed potato’s were awful and also incorrect. I’ve never tasted mashed potatoes like this, couldn’t even eat them! 😵‍💫 Manager did offer to correct it so that was nice, but just overall ridiculous, and NOT worth your time.

Both steaks were cooked to perfection. And tender. Soup delicious.. Mercedes waitress did a excellent job. Even management made his round and checked on us.

I can't in good conscience give my last experience a 5 star. Most of the time its quite delicious. This time most of everything was great except for the star of the show, my stead. It was incredibly tough. I ordered it Medium rare but part of the steak was tendon or something and I had to eat around it. Sadly steak prices are too expensive to leave part of it on the plate. The waiter was awesome. He was extra nice to my 5 year old and gave him extra bread which is my kids favorite. All in all everything was great except that steak.

We had a recent encounter with Outback and were let down about our delivery order. Outback corrected it immediately and made our order fresh and the manager brought our order personally to apologize for the mishap. So impressed! Shout out to Brandi and her staff at Outback here in Lubbock! Taking accountability and making it right is what mattered to us. So impressed.

Great service! The bread is delicious as always, and the steaks and aussie cheese fries were really good as well; however, the macaroni was not good despite the many reviews stating otherwise. The pepper taste was overpowering everything else and the noodles were chewy. It was recommended to me to try the mac from the kid's menu next time.

Nestled in the heart of Lubbock, Montelongo's Mexican Restaurant is a beloved family-owned establishment that has been delighting locals since 1972. I haven’t been here in a while but felt like a meal from my child hood. My crispy taco , enchilada with beans and rice were on point . I’m usually a breakfast guy at this restaurant but mom and I decided to get an early dinner.. I asked for a crispy taco , beef enchilada , rice and beans .. I like that they do not over spice the food because I like adding salsa , salt and pepper on my own to make my meal how I like it. The restaurant was clean and atmosphere was calm and relaxing.. this place has been consistently good over the years. I’m giving 5 stars because it was a great experience from food to service. I could not find anything wrong with the visit.. the salsa was hotter than I remember but really good.. over the years if something was wrong they worked with me to make it right .. the cost for a dinner for 2 was 10 dollars less than the lunch we had earlier in the day at another local spot. So the value was on point too .. this place is not Ruth Chris so don’t set that expectation.. this is a mom and pop type Hispanic restaurant that makes good food no more no less

I found this place by shear accident on Google maps. It carries a 4.3 rating as of the time I am writing this. The food was really good, and the atmosphere felt authentic. But what made this place for me was the staff. They were oh so polite and constantly checking on us. And.... and they even held the door for my wife. Now I ordered a 2 beef taco plate with rice and beans, and my wife ordered the guacamole salad. I will most definitely return.

After this visit we are looking forward to working our way through the menu. We started with Item 1, the enchilada plate. Loved my cheese enchilada plate. The chicken in chicken enchiladas was a little dry. The hot sauce was too hot and I asked for a milder version. We combined the two and achieved the perfect heat level. The service was too notch and we loved the music. FYI - As we were leaving we saw that dine in closes at 6:00 pm.
Mary B — Google review
This was hard giving a 3 star rating to. The service and atmosphere was awesome. My drink didn’t ever go empty, and they continuously check on you and make sure you’re alright and don’t need anything else. It’s a lively enough place, people were talking and laughing. The food just really isn’t the best. It’s alright if youre looking for a quick bite. But you’re not getting authentic flavorful food. I’m going back to try something else but I had the chicken enchiladas and they were mid at best. The rice and beans also weren’t that good and the salsa was ehh. I’m hoping I just got a bad plate and my next order is better
Michael F — Google review
It was my first time eating at this restaurant. I’d always heard their ads on the radio, so I finally decided to give it a try. I was craving a good breakfast that morning and ordered a barbacoa burrito. I’m not sure if the issue was because we ordered to-go or if the food just isn’t great in general, but what I got was the most tasteless meal I’ve ever had. The same went for my friend’s plate of enchiladas. Even after adding salt and salsa, it still wasn’t enjoyable. I love seeing my people doing their thing, but unfortunately, the food just wasn’t worth it.

I went here several years ago and experienced racism. I was the 3 rd person to arrive with my family 3 children ages 12, 10 and 6 ay 1130 AM. The place filled up fast it was a Saturday. No waitresses came by our table till 1245 to take our order. We were the only white people in the place. My children wanted to leave, but I keep saying they will come shortly. We were starred at the whole time by many of the other customers. When all of the others had been served and 90 percent had left, then they took our order. You could tell by the way we were approached that they did not want to serve us. I know how others feel when they say that they experienced racism!!!! I will never forget it, but I do forgive their actions. So yes racism does exist in Lubbock, Texas. Don't go there if you want to be treated with disrespect. I did not think that Lubbock had such a place, but it does. We are all equal in the eyes of God. Treat others like you want to be Treated. You own a business, be kind to all no matter what color someone's skin is and treat every one fairly. Just a suggestion!

The food was amazing, the spices reminded me of traditional Indian cooking, the servers were kind and very enjoyable to talk to. All in all, an amazing place to visit, be warned however, the spice levels are serious, if you cant handle a jalapeno stay with the first couple levels of spice. Also, puff puffs are well worth buying an additional order. Edit: Near a year later, my family visited again, the puff puffs keepus asking for more, the rice has a nice mix of flavors, and the service makes us smile. I do feel bad about ordering three orders of puff puffs, but when they come 6 for $3, i just cant stop.

We had dinner here around 6:00 on 4/18. We were warmly welcomed and told to sit wherever we wanted. Our server was very kind and did a great job taking care of us during our visit. I started with a nice cold beer. The Mutzig was crisp and refreshing. I highly recommend it. The 33 Export was yummy as well. We got a chicken pie and a scotch egg for our appetizers. They were both so good with spices and seasonings that we were not familiar with at all. You just have to try them. Then for our main course, we got the Taste of Africa and the Savannah Seapride. The chicken was beautifully cooked with more fantastic unfamiliar flavors. The rice was delicious with a red sauce that was bold and rich in flavor. My fish was delicious and full of more wonderful flavors, but if you’ve never eaten a whole fish before, please be very careful to avoid the very small bones throughout. The coleslaw was unlike any coleslaw I’ve ever experienced. It had a wonderful, almost fruity flavor. And the plantains were tender and delightful. Then we had Nana’s cake for dessert. It was amazing. If you like banana bread, then you will love this dessert. Soft moist banana cake topped with creamy ice cream and drizzled with chocolate and caramel. Yum! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a good time!

Okay, y'all. The Fried African Delight is so delicious! It is the leg and thigh cooked and placed on top of a bed of rice. There are 2 different levels of spices. You can order with NO SPICE. I am not keen on a whole lot of spice, so I get medium 🌶, and my husband and sons love the 2nd level of SPICEY🌶🌶. Now, the wonderfully sweet taste of cooked plantain!🍌 I usually eat the plantain last as a palette cleaners. We haven't tried other selections yet because the Afican Delight is so satisfying. We have eaten Vizos several times and it has always been fresh and delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable. You won't be sorry you tried something new at Vizos! This is a great addition to the Lubbock area. Diverse and yet, very satisfying 😋😋😋😋😋

When you first walk in, the restaurant is very inviting and cozy. Staff are super friendly and very helpful on recommendations with the menu. Prices are definitely right for the amount of portions they give you on your plate. This restaurant uses bold flavors that will awaken your taste buds. It was a really pleasant experience and we will be back again! We ordered Suya grilled beef (fiery) as our appetizer which was super hot but very good! Taste of Africa with chicken and Red with a twist (chicken) as our main entree. You can choose the level of spice for your entree and we decided on medium which was a little less intense than the fiery appetizer. All were very good and filling!

Rave On is a contemporary restaurant located within the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences in Lubbock. The restaurant offers a modern twist on American cuisine, making it an ideal spot for happy hour, date nights, or special occasions. The menu features dressy renditions of comfort dishes, with the seven-layer coconut cake being a standout dessert. Guests can enjoy flavorful dishes from appetizers to desserts for lunch and dinner.
My wife and I ate here prior to going to the nutcracker ballet. First we want to say that I was a great idea for a fine dining restaurant like this one to be located in the performing arts center. Very convenient for those who want to attend and even being hosted there. The food here was pretty good. I had the Mahi Mahi while my wife had the Fillet Mingnon. Along with these we had the corn and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese and the scallops were maybe the best of what we ordered. They had a different flavor than our other food and paired well with our drinks. If we do come back to Lubbock to come to another event like the Ballet or something else, we will definitely eat here again.

Visiting Lubbock on business and found this place on google. Everything looked great and time showed it was open. Upon arriving at 5/9/25 around 5pm cst, it looked completely abandoned. I had my family with me and we were forced to stand outside in the rain for another Uber to arrive. Very misleading and impossible to get anyone on the phone to ask any questions. Disappointing is an understatement.

Mixed Experience I recently dined at Rave On, and my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The atmosphere was pleasant, creating a welcoming ambiance. However, my disappointment stemmed from the food. I ordered the Spanish paella, and to my dismay, the rice tasted like it came from a quick-fix box rather than being authentically prepared. The short ribs were unfortunately dry, and the raw oysters were surprisingly warm, raising concerns about freshness. On a positive note, the crabcakes were enjoyable. The redeeming factor of the evening was undoubtedly the desserts. The Biskoff cheesecake and the olive oil apple dessert were nothing short of spectacular. While the desserts left a lasting impression, the overall dining experience, especially with the subpar main dishes, makes it unlikely for me to return to Rave On.

Super nice staff. Knowledgeable bartender. Great food selection. I ordered the flat iron steak salad and it was good but my medium rare steak came out more medium well and was a bit chewy. Could have just been the meat and not the cook. The chimichurri sauce was great. Good selection of wine and again, superb bartender and staff.

First of all, let's talk about the BBQ Braised Short Rib Mac 'n' Cheese at Rave On. Please try it, you won't be sorry. It was like heaven in my mouth. We got it as an appetizer and it was followed by delicious mains (grouper for me, burger for the husband). Substituted steak fries in place of the regular ones and good lord, I have never seen fries that have truly earned the name "steak fries" like these did. Left room for some dessert and espresso. Service was top notch and there was plenty of seating. The only thing I didn't love was the margarita, it was a bit heavy/syrupy for my taste (and rimmed with sugar instead of salt), so I'd probably go with beer or wine instead of a cocktail next time.

Quality lunch! Decent prices for an upscale restaurant. Best thing I had was the appetizer (Burrata and tomato toast). Burger was top notch, better than average fries,(skip the chips…).

This was our first time to dine at Rave On. We made a reservation for a pre-show dinner. The location was perfect to be able to walk right into the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts. Karsyn was our server and she was great. We will actually request her next time. All of our food was well-prepared, fresh, and very good. Some of our faves were the Portobello Appetizer, Braised Short-Ribs, Kale Salad (entrée salad), and the Coconut Cake. As a bonus, you can purchase drinks (even wine;-) in to-go cups to take to your show if you are seeing one.

Rave On truly lives up to its name, offering an experience that's as vibrant and delightful as its culinary offerings. The cocktail menu is a standout, with each drink crafted to perfection, providing a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate. The scallops and shrimp, expertly cooked, are a testament to the chef's skill, showcasing a delicate balance of texture and seasoning. The bruschetta, a classic dish, is reinvented here with a burst of fresh, bold flavors that elevate it from a simple starter to a memorable part of the meal. The service at Rave On is equally commendable. Attentive without being intrusive, the staff ensures that every aspect of your dining experience is seamless, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. This makes Rave On an ideal spot for a pre-show dinner, where the lively ambiance and exquisite food set the stage for a wonderful night out. Whether it's the cocktails, the seafood, or the small plates, every element at Rave On works in harmony to create a dining experience that's not just satisfying, but truly memorable.
