Ice cream shop
Step back in time at the iconic House of Flavors Restaurant, a 70-year-old establishment with a 1950s diner ambiance and vintage memorabilia. This family-owned gem offers all-day breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner options such as their famous fresh-roasted turkey dinner. With a wide selection for both adults and kids, ample seating including highchairs, and excellent service, it's an ideal spot for families.
Such a cool place! People are lined up outside on hot days, needing the frozen deliciousness of a bazillion flavors of ice cream prepared in a bazillion concoctions. But their actual FOOD is aces, too! My husband had a hot meatloaf sandwich, and I had a cranberry orange chicken stir fry... both amazing! We HAD to have ice cream for dessert, and what we chose was very good! We didn't have to wait to be seated, but it seemed the parties of 6 or more did. Love. This. Place!
Cindy A — Google review
Great local eatery! We just went to the ice cream room, which has stairs leading up to it from the sidewalk; there may be an accessible entrance elsewhere from the actual restaurant. Free parking on the street and free parking lot next to the building, however this is a popular place, so I imagine it fills quickly. The ice cream was delicious and they had lots of flavors to choose from. Waffle cones were delicious. Two dairy free options available. Highly recommend
Catelin R — Google review
What a wonderful stop! While we did not eat from their dinner menu, we enjoyed delicious hard scooped, house made ice cream with fresh waffle cones! It was a stellar shop and I will totally come again. The prices are $4.50 for a junior (my picture), $5.50 for one scoop, $6.50 for a two scoop. Tax is included in the price. They also had gluten free and dairy free options available.
Elizabeth M — Google review
This was a perfect stop on my road trip around Lake Michigan. The atmosphere was super fun, food was delicious, service was great. I ate too much lunch and didn’t save room for the ice cream flight that I really wanted to order. But there is a separate entrance if all you want is ice cream, so I’ll admit that we went back and got a scoop later on. This place is perfect for all ages and the prices aren’t bad at all. Do yourself a favor and stop at House of Flavors!
Lesley W — Google review
Best place to dine in Ludington. For a meal try the turkey or get a fresh turkey wrap. Don’t miss the ice cream, have some for dessert and again after taking in a sunset at the city beach. Check out the flavors, and be sure to try the black cherry. A perfect family tradition.
Ray S — Google review
Absolutely the most fun place to go! I only had breakfast but it was great, the staff were fun and friendly, the vibe is tremendous--oldies playing over the sound system, 45's hanging all over the place, the famous straw wrappers stick to the ceiling, the best and most flavors of on-site -made ice cream!!😲. They also sell fun items and their famous strawberry jam. I only wish this place were close enough to visit weekly! I will be back and bring everyone I know.
Sali M — Google review
Can’t wait to go back to try the ice cream! This was a great diner spot with a pretty affordable menu and all of the standard breakfast options but also a lot of creative takes on traditional dishes. The staff was nice and it had a fun ambiance.
Amanda K — Google review
Nostalgia all the way! First time having breakfast here and it was delicious. Locals are lined up at opening and awesome seeing the staff get their their 'regular' items without needing to be asked. Tells you that its a loved establishment. This booth has been sat in by my family for generations and it was awesome to see it still there!

Waterfront Park, also known as Waterfront Sculpture Park, is a 5.3-acre recreational area situated by Ludington's main harbor and marina on Pere Marquette Lake. The park features nine large bronze sculptures depicting scenes from Ludington's history and offers stunning views of the SS Badger as it sails in and out of port.
Great waterside park. Bathrooms were clean and accessible. There was regular swings, plus baby swings and a tire swing. A section for toddler play equipment and a section for older kids play equipment. Plus a looped walking trail along the water.

Love this park! Great playground for the kids, nice views, incredibly soft grass. Neat to get food and watch the SS Badger roll in.

This is a cute place to bring the family for some play time or a picnic. Parking was supper simple. Would recommend.

This is a great place. The park is medium size but with something for everyone. It's nestled in between two marinas, the municipal marina and the Harbor View marina, with Pere Marquette Lake waterfront and lovely views in all directions. Many sculptures are scattered around in the park. There's a large playground for kiddos. Lots of benches and tables can be found all around. There's even a gazebo with five tables underneath. Restrooms and an amphitheater is available as well. Edit: Added pictures, Oct 2022.

This park is some what breath taking! There's tons of sculptures. A lot of sidewalks taking you any where you want to go. A very nice viewing area to watch the badger arrive and depart. It's very peaceful. There's also a children's play area with places to sit for the adults. Public restrooms. Lots to do and see here!

Restaurant
Ludington Bay Brewing Co is a popular brewpub in Ludington, offering a wide selection of beers brewed on-site with creative names inspired by the local area. The tap room and spacious patio provide an inviting atmosphere to savor these craft brews alongside a diverse menu featuring gourmet pizzas, salads, and enticing entrees like grilled mahi mahi and house-smoked back ribs.
We enjoyed the rich body and caramel notes of the Paddy's Red Ale and the chocolate tones of the James Street Brown. with a creamy head and nice depth of flavor. Last year, we were lucky to catch them when they were brewing Coconut Brown Ale, our very favorite, which we hope to find on their menu again in the future! We'd recommend the crispy, chewy, salty pretzels with beer cheese. They do a good Michigan Cherry Salad with cherry vinaigrette, and my husband always goes for the standard burger and fries. The fries I stole from his plate were crispy and well-seasoned. Nice wait staff, and the outdoor seating is quieter than indoors if you're looking for that!
Chanelle S — Google review
The space is nice for indoor and outdoor seating. There is a large menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the spinach & artichoke dip and the brussel sprouts, however we were very disappointed with the loaded fries - it had no taste. The meat in pork tacos was extremely dry. The pizza was very average. They seemed short staffed. It was hard to get a server’s attention. We tried for several hours to call for a reservation and no one answered the phone. It was our first visit to this restaurant and overall we would not come here again.
Anna D — Google review
Very good food! Their fries were amazing and their beer selection did not disappoint. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming! Their cheese for their Mac and cheese is house made and some of their menu items are locally sourced. The plates are large portions and run about $14-$20 a meal. They have a patio that is dog friendly and our service was prompt.
Elizabeth M — Google review
Excellent beer and food. Be sure to sample the Coconut Brown ale - wow! It’s the best sipping beer around. Start with the awesome pretzels. Salads are fresh with a variety of greens. Burgers are top level. The servers are friendly and helpful in selecting beers, and the service is great, even when it’s busy. The outside patio and covered dining area is clean and quieter than the inside tables. Enjoy a walk through town afterwards. And get some fresh brews to take home.
Ray S — Google review
We experienced a significant delay in receiving our meal. Upon its arrival, the quality of the food was not up to par. Specifically, the wagyu steak, which I requested to be cooked medium, was served rare. Due to my hunger and the server's infrequent presence, I chose to consume it as is. Had the service been more efficient and the food prepared as requested, I would have gladly offered a four-star review.
Kayla — Google review
Stopped in for food and beer. Everything thing was amazing. Michigan Cherry Salad add chicken with the house made honey vinaigrette - so delicious! Husband had the Philly Cheesesteak- excellent - generous amount of shaved ribeye. He was very happy. Beer cheese with the pretzels is also made in house - very good. We did 2 - 5 pour flights. Very impressed with the beer. Our server was very attentive and offered good recommendations. We sat on the patio with our dog. Excellent environment - tables are well spaced which I think is great so the dogs don’t get too crowded.
Samantha L — Google review
Crab Rangoon pizza is a must get here. The brussel sprouts with bacon and Michigan cherries are also a tangy and sweet treat. Highly recommended?
Martin W — Google review
Went with group of six on a Saturday night in November. They have a great selection of beer and solid food choices. All enjoyed their meals. We split a pizza. It was the perfect size for two plus had a couple pieces left for hungry boys. Service was friendly and relatively quick for having a mix of burgers and pizza. As with most brewery dining rooms, it can be a little tough to hear people at your table because the sound is very live.

Took a quick drive to Ludington and had a great sushi dinner. Delicious sushi and Jesse M provided terrific service. Best restaurant in Ludington. The spicy seaweed salad is definitely spicy but really good.

Out for a girls’ weekend, we had passed by this place earlier during the day and noticed it was packed. We all know that’s a good sign, right? So, we decided to stop in rather late that night for dinner and drinks. Luckily, the kitchen was still open! The bartender and our server (the sweetest girl ever visiting from Romania) were wonderful. The Blueberry mules were delicious! Our late night dinners consisted of some pretty amazing birria tacos and Colorado Nachos. We also couldn’t resist dessert to go and let me tell you…don’t pass up on that cheesecake flight!
Michelle W — Google review
This was the worst food I have ever had. The salsa was literally tomato paste. The quesadilla was only a big pile of greasy burger with no cheese or veggies. I couldn’t eat any of it. Worst food and worst service. So disappointed.
Renee A — Google review
Would rate this place zero stars if I could. We had a semi-large party and they sat us at two separate tables. Our table's sushi was served to the other table and they expected us to get up everytime we wanted the sushi that WE ordered. The owner did not offer to fix it and bring our food to OUR table. He brought us a spatula from the kitchen to transport our food. All of the toppings were falling off and not good at all. Absolutely ridiculous. The owner does not care about the customers or the quality of his food.
Claudia P — Google review
Owner is very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Our party took up two tables and all of our sushi was served on one plate. Instead of taking the tray back and taking accountability, we were handed plates, spatulas, and tongs to plate our food ourselves from the other table. All of our food came out at different times leaving our party waiting for each other to finish eating. -100/10 recommend.
Sofia L — Google review
The food and service here was very good, we both got the Sockeye Salmon Burger and it was GREAT. The atmosphere and music was very pleasing too!
Ashton W — Google review
This restaurant is extremely weird. It really doesn't have an identity. The menu has five different styles of cuisine and then they have a full bar that takes up half of the restaurant. I mean, if you have a group of people who really want Mexican, sushi, pasta, barbecue and American food then this is the place. The wings were pretty good but the sauce wasn't house made, the grilled chicken wrap was mediocre but the ranch was bad. I also think the prices are just a bit steep. Which wouldn't be bad if the food was good but it's not. Then to top it all off, my wife's wrap came out of the kitchen about 20 minutes after everything else. They did apologize and gave us $1.80 (10%) off....

Restaurant
Old Hamlin Restaurant is an iconic establishment that has been serving Greek cuisine and a salad bar since around 1942. It is a beloved spot for both locals and tourists, with its walls adorned with photos that capture the essence of the past. This family-owned restaurant has stood the test of time, offering affordable prices, friendly service, and tasty food. It holds a special place in Ludington's history, having been a part of the community for over 80 years.
Comfort food, friendly staff, great prices. The ingredients were fresh (especially the salad bar) and all seemed 100% cooked in house, including bread and pies. I wish we had saved our money at "nicer" restaurants in town, and eaten multiple meals here instead. Sadly, it was our last stop on the trip. Make it your first. To owner: I think the old style decor is part of the charm. I wouldn't change a thing. People should appreciate variety and nostalgia, if they want cookie cutter, the McDonald's is renovated.
Pam H — Google review
Good place for big servings of comfort food with a side of local history. And friendly service, too. The Hot Meatloaf Sandwich was all you hoped for, and as much as grandma tried to make you eat! And the homemade bread could have come directly out of her oven - impressive!
John M — Google review
First time there was an amazing experience. It’s a very relaxed place to dine. The food was amazing and if you want to learn about a restaurants food quality check out their salad bar. I have never encountered a salad bar that was this fresh ever. The waitress that served us was pleasant and a delightful young lady. When I unrolled my silverware from my napkin there wasn’t a single water spot anywhere. This says a lot as they pay attention to small details. They have homemade bread and pies and we are looking forward to dining here when in Ludington.

Very nice place to go. They offer a lot of different options. We went early in the morning and the staff were very attentive. Honestly a bit pricey for the food you got, but over all we had nice time! Definitely recommend the cinnamon roll!
Kam — Google review
Local diner with options for everyone. Free parking out front and lot in the back. Overall the food was pretty good with massive portions. The staff was kind and service was good. They offer breakfast all day, which is a win in my book! Gluten free options. Wheelchair accessable from the back (I didn't use the front door, so I can't speak on that front). Note that the door doesn't have an accessable button, so opening the door in a chair may be more difficult. I did think it smelled kinda funky when I first walked in, but didn't notice it after a while.

What a nice meal! I brought the whole family here 45 min before closing on a Monday, and was welcomed with open arms. The food was excellent (I had fried perch which was cooked to perfection), but the prices were even better. All of us ate full meals, and we even got a bottle of Michigan wine, and the total was $78. Extra special thanks to Marsha, the owner, who helped me retrieve my drivers license that I accidentally left on the SS Badger! I have eaten in countless restaurants all over America, and this will go down as one of my favorites.

Atmosphere could use some updating, but otherwise was pleasant. The food was delicious; I got the wet burrito 🌯, the red sauce was a bit overpowering. The service was friendly.

We stopped in mid afternoon for a light lunch. This was the first time we had been here. Service and waitress very friendly. Atmosphere was great! We were seated by a painting from 1937. Impressive! Now..on to the food and beverages. We ordered Draft beers that were fairly priced and..nice and cold!!!! We ordered Vegetable soup, Sampler platter and Saganaki ( flaming cheese ) . Soup tasted great! Sampler platter which had chicken strips, potato skins with bacon, mozzarella sticks , deep fried mushrooms and onion rings (missing in photo due to my love of onion rings) and dipping sauces. One word Fantastic!!! Everything was delicious. I had to order another cold draft it was so good and cold! lol It was high 80s outside. Also, It went with the Saganaki that was like desert. We recommend the Old Hamlin Restaurant with enthusiasm!! OPA!!!!!

Cafe 106 is a charming breakfast spot in Ludington, offering a delightful array of dishes. The Bananas Foster French toast features thick slices topped with caramelized bananas and rum sauce, while the Homemade Corned Beef Hash combines tender beef brisket with potatoes and eggs. Their homemade strawberry preserves are particularly noteworthy. This hidden gem boasts a pet-friendly patio, making it an ideal place to savor a meal on sunny days.
BEST FOOD IN TOWN! This place is better than House of Flavors. Many more unique dishes to choose from, breakfast knocks it out of the park. The Mexican Scramble breakfast dish was phenomenal along with the banana foster French toast, Brad’s Skillet and meat & cheese omelet. WE WILL BE BACK!

This place is awesome. Amazing food, friendly staff and nice welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to trying every dish on the menu. It is a refreshing to find healthier options at a restaurant. Pictured the Baja Chicken Omelet and Homemade hash breakfast. They served the toast with homemade strawberry jam 😋 I only wish they were open later. Being farmers we often don't get finished until later in the day and miss out on having lunch or early supper here.

Food was amazing. The Southwest breakfast burrito was killer. I hate tomatoes. They came in the black bean salsa, but I devoured it. We asked for well done hash browns and they were super crispy. Our server was awesome, and our food came really fast after ordering.

This spot is great! The atmosphere is quaint and intimate. Seating options both inside and outside and a breakfast menu that meets everyone's wants. Ordered the Corned beef and eggs meal, which was amazing and my wife ordered the country benedict which the homemade biscuits added another level to the dish. Our food came out very quick, even with the restaurant being a tad busy, which is testament to the cooks. Our server Kaitlyn was amazing, she was super nice and fun to talk to. I definitely recommend this place.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place, first time we had eaten here and we go to Ludington quite a bit. The prices were a tad high for what I was hoping for, but we really enjoyed our food. When I first got my sandwich my thought was "a little stingy on the chips" but the taste of the sandwich made up for it, and frankly, my gut tells me I don't really need that many chips. All in all a good experience. I'd like to come back here and try the breakfast!

A great place on the main strip to stop and eat with a cozy atmosphere! The food was amazing. I sat at the bar which offers full service. The bar tender was very polite and speedy. The food came out very fast and delicious. I ordered the Mexican salad with house smoked pulled pork on top. Holy cow, it was fantastic. Would definitely stop in and enjoy the place again! Edit: have come here three more times. It keeps getting better and better! The Brisket Grilled Cheese is probably one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life.

Husband ordered the Dirty Russian sandwich and asked to substitute Cole slaw for the sauerkraut. He loved it. I ordered from the build you own menu. The options are broad and fit any taste. Mine was fantastic. Was surprised the bowl was...a bowl....not a corn tortilla bowl. No worries, it was good all by itself.

Timbers Prime Steakhouse in Ludington is a top choice for steak lovers. The restaurant offers prime and dry-aged steaks that have impressed many diners. Guests have raved about the quality of the steaks, with some even dubbing it their new favorite place in Ludington. The menu also features delicious sides like garlic knots, salad, lobster tails, loaded baked potatoes, and loaded mac and cheese.
We were in town for a late season salmon and golf trip. Ate all local from start to finish. This was the dining highlight. I had the porterhouse. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My son had the whitefish and was equally impressed. The pesto risotto was a pleasant surprise. 10/10. Will make certain to stop back when we return next year.

Great experience minus the hostess. Didn't realize we needed a reservation. She was kinda rude about it and snubbed us to the side for people who had reservations. Asked of we could sit at the bar she said yes. The bartender and staff were great. Food was on point.
Kristina B — Google review
I cam here from Manistee and really loved this place. They had just opened their lunch menu 4 days ago and my wife and in-laws were eating here. Our guy Brad was phenomenal at helping us navigate choices, giving us history of the place and the new construction happening. The owner went above and beyond by offering to cook a dinner item in lieu of the options on the lunch menu. It was one of the tastiest New York strips you could ask for. My two cents for recommendations are that they increase the portions a little with possible extra veggies or rice, but overall my family and I enjoyed the food greatly, the experience was phenomenal and we will certainly be back again!!

Make sure you have a reservation. Wasnt impressed with the hostess because we had no idea you should make a reservation. She was not very welcoming. More expensive than what I thought it would be but the food was well worth it. We sat at the bar, the bar staff was amazing and very welcoming.

My wife and I came here for dinner with high hopes BUT it didn’t not turn out well. First I did reservations online and when we got to the hostess stand and started such she rolled her eyes but still seated us. We both ordered Shrimp cocktail. They were a combination of frozen or extremely dry. We were told that they would be removed from the bill, but only $3 was taken off. I ordered Ribeye medium and my wife ordered Prime Rib medium. The ribeye was the thinnest, most sorry piece of meat I have had. It was 3/8” at its thickest and cooked to well done. My wife’s Prime came out rare but otherwise was average taste. The sides (roasted redskins and squash) were good. The service was average and the atmosphere was average. Definitely not worth the $200 bill though.

My girlfriend and I ate here Saturday night and I was pleasantly surprised by just about every aspect. We had a reservation at 6:30 and we showed up a little bit over 20 minutes early and they got us right in and even remembered my special request from when I made the reservation. The wait staff was very good and our food was absolutely terrific. The menu prices were very reasonable especially for the quality. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family or anyone in the area.

You’ll get better service an an applebees. servers are given too many tables to manage. prices and atmosphere are setting a high bar and the service does not match at all. I would recommend Timbers bar and grill down the street everytime. Got the chicken alfredo. was not worth the price.

Reading some of the reviews I was uncertain. If I should try this place or not. Most of the reviews are pretty accurate. I made a reservation based off some of the reviews saying that it would be required to get a table. When I arrived there were only two other tables sat in the entire restaurant so I'm unsure why I needed a reservation. After we got sat, waitress quickly took our drink order but that was the only thing that was quick about the service. With it being that slow I would assume the waitress would constantly be checking on us or around but that wasn't the case. The food itself was pretty mediocre at best which was kind of disappointing. I ordered a steak assuming being a steakhouse it was going to be good but it was just a letdown. They were also out of a lot of things on their menu. If you are considering going here, don't set your expectation is very high and enjoy it if you can.

Crown and Cork is a popular restaurant located in downtown Ludington, just across from the marina. The laid-back atmosphere makes it a favorite among locals and visitors. The menu features Great Lakes seafood, burgers, steaks, and comfort food, as well as an extensive selection of ice cream made at one of Michigan's largest production plants next door. The restaurant takes pride in its expertly crafted cocktails and spirits to cater to discerning tastes.
Dressed up for early Halloween fun! Really enjoyed the Crown and Coffin room on opening night! The lighting, misty atmosphere, decor, and fun photo opts for couples, friends get together or family groups! 🎃 Kaylynn, our wonderful waitress was happy to play along, too, as we went dressed as Mr Cork and Ms 👑 Crown 👸. She was in proper costume attire as well… but we won’t spoil the surprise! The background music was theme appropriate for Halloween as well. We enjoyed the fall harvest salad, bourbon glazed boneless pork rib eye, and their creamy pasta Alfredo. Thank you for bringing a bit of fun and warmth to these drizzly cold fall days! And this special coffin room is available to diners through next two weeks!

Both of our steaks were not cooked properly. Waitress was very nice about it. She talked with her manager and our meals were discounted. The beer battered cauliflower was AMAZING and was the highlight of our meal! Beautiful place inside and the view of the marina was great.

We feel at home at Crown and Cork! The food is amazing and they're always adding drinks and new tastes to the menu. We frequent whenever we are in town! The owner, Lynda is present and engaged. The wait staff are friendly and remember us when we come.

Rib eye was good. The porkchops were disappointing. $26 for a little 3.5 oz. Chop Seriously I have never seen a pork chop presented like this. Oh I repeated the dessert .

Previously P.M. Steamers, this restaurant has had a facelift that almost makes it unrecognizable lol. But really, the atmosphere was classy (minus the broke down piano set-up, sitting in plain site which we agreed could be better hidden until in use) Possibility for great potential. I realize this is newly opened, but the wait times were beyond that as the reason. We were told by the hostess that everything is made from scratch, and that it would be a longer dining experience. Ok, but apps and burgers for lunch really shouldn't be a 2 1/2 hour "experience". Atmosphere was 8/10, food was 7/10, wait time was 3/10. Would be willing to return for dinner in a couple months. I hope it becomes a regular spot for drinks and dinner!

I can honestly say I’m surprised there are even negative reviews about this restaurant, not only was the atmosphere warm and inviting, the food did not disappoint. As a mom visiting from far out of town with her three kids frantically looking for a place to sit down and eat dinner I couldn’t be more grateful my sights landed on Crown and Cork. Immediately pulling into the parking lot you are met with the most incredible view and the inside of the restaurant is decorated so beautifully that the environment falls nothing short of exciting and welcoming! They have the BEST play area for children I have EVER seen anywhere. The restaurant was clean and the staff was so attentive and kind it felt like connecting with old friends. I had the Luxury of meeting the owner (whom herself was also absolutely stunning and so so kind) and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to tell her how much we enjoyed our evening! This place falls nothing short of perfection and I can’t wait to celebrate every birthday and anniversary to come, and yes, it is absolutely worth the 2 1/2 hour drive for me.

Fine dining with the best food I have found in the area. Nice view of the marina across the street. Outdoor area. More of a traditional upscale restaurant. If you are looking for a quick inexpensive meal then I would go to one of the many other great restaurants in the area.

Fantastic resturant!! I had the Cajun Shrimp dish and it was fantastic!! It had just enough spice and flavor that it made me feel like I was eating down in New Orleans! The drinks there are pretty great aswell! I sat at the windows which face the marina and got to watch the large Badger ship take off while eating. The owner also stopped by to check in on me and the rest of my group, there is alot of passion and hospitality in this place! I can't wait to travel up again!

American restaurant
Timbers is an informal eatery that specializes in dry-aged steaks made in-house, along with a variety of seafood, pasta, and salads. This restaurant offers more than just a meal; it provides an entire experience. The food is crafted using high-quality ingredients, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The service at Timbers is remarkable – the servers are pleasant, graceful, and clearly passionate about their work. They take pride in the restaurant and their team.
We hosted our wedding reception at Timbers in Ludington, Michigan, and it was truly everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, the staff especially Mandy, went above and beyond—they were not only friendly and professional, but also incredibly intuitive, anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. The food was absolutely delicious, with the macaroni and cheese being a standout favorite among our guests (we’re still getting compliments about it!). The team at Timbers also did a beautiful job transforming the space into something cozy, romantic, and welcoming, making the evening feel both intimate and elegant. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special day. If you’re considering Timbers for any event—or just a great meal—you won’t be disappointed!

Rylee was our server and she was so sweet and amazing. everything came out on time and she checked up on us regularly. we had the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer, and i had the strawberry salad with grilled chicken. both were absolutely amazing we’ll definitely be coming back.

I had a great time on the upper rear deck with friends for an early July evening dinner, seeing the ferry coming in to dock in the distance. We had solid service. Our food was ok and they’d run put of several food/drink items but it was Saturday of 4th of July weekend so I’d consider that extenuating circumstances. I regret not getting a burger - it was the best looking item coming out of the kitchen that night but the waffle burger (pictured) did not get rave reviews from my friend’s teenager. Overall, a seemingly decent/reliable local joint, especially if you can sit outside in the summer 👍🏼

It was trivia night upstairs and it was quite hot for springtime without air conditioning. Trivia with such a blast - but the food left a bit to be desired. We had a new server working behind the bar and he was really pleasant, even though food and drink service was slow in general. We will absolutely try things again soon! :)

Our family loved dinner here! My lemon butter salmon was cooked perfectly. My husband also loved his bourbon glazed pork chop and our kids loved the chicken tenders and fries. Our waitress was fantastic, the atmosphere was fun and clean. We are definitely coming back and would recommend!

Timbers is more than a restaurant, it is an experience! Food is made with quality ingredients, full of flavor, and aesthetically pleasing. Amazing service. Our server Tammy Y. was pleasant, graceful, and we could tell she really enjoyed her job and took pride in the restaurant and the team she worked with. She was friendly and knowledgeable and when I wanted a cocktail but could not decide, she asked the bartender to come over, we and he made me a special cocktail that is not yet on the menu. It was delicious. We had a hand crafted blackberry bourbon chocolate cake for desert that was absolutely mouthwatering.

We had fish tacos and a perch dinner. While restaurants down the road had an hour wait, we got right in on a Saturday night. Monica waited on us, quick, knowledgeable, friendly. Our dinners came out sooner than expected, and were delicious! The perch was perfect, light seasoned breading, so tasty on its own. Fish tacos w mango salsa were ample and fresh, plenty of fish. We'll spread the word and come back again!

A beautiful park on the beach where you swim, sunbathe and can go on a healthy walk on the path to the lighthouse. We eloped here for 2 days during the heat wave last weekend.

Nice big beach with two cantina to purchase food and snacks. One of which sells beer and bottled cocktails. Clean restrooms. Park is patrolled throughout the day. Ludington North Breakwater Lighthouse is a great piece of Michigan's historic shoreline. The staff is pleasant and informative. It is a short walk out on the pier, close to the beautiful town of Ludington. It is a great place to get a cose view the S.S.Badger go out and/or return from Manitowoc, WI. This is one of our favorite places to go for breathtaking sunsets and to see all of the beautiful boats in the area, Love watching the sailboats going by as the sun is setting in the background over Lake Michigan. Definitely worth a visit for the lighthouse junkie's like myself. Highly Recommend.
Rob V — Google review
The light station was not open the day we visited, so did not get to go inside it, but it was still nice to be able to walk all the way out to it and get nice views to Ludington and of the coast in both directions.

We just fished on the pier. Easy entry and plenty of room with a lot of people fishing.

Gorgeous pier, calm waters and you can pay $8 to climb the light

Great little experience and worth the cost to climb to the top. Lots of neat history and photos along the way up. Four separate fights to climb with landings at each level. I didn't mind the $8 per adult and $5 per child when you think about helping with conservation and preservation. Military friendly as they gift free entry for the serviceman/veteran. The hike out itself is free and worth it even if you chose to not pay to climb to the top.

Coffee shop
Red Rooster Coffee & Community is more than just a place for great organic, fair trade coffee; it's a hub of community and friendly conversation. Located in Ludington, this trendy coffee house offers excellent coffee and inviting service. The town also boasts various lodging options, from historic B&Bs to boutique hotels. Visitors can enjoy a 50% discount on their second night at participating establishments when booking a two-night stay through October.
This was exactly what I was looking for. Visiting my old high school area and family with no internet makes getting my computer related work hard to do while visiting Ludington. I needed a place to enjoy a beverage while having space to check my computer with a strong Wi-Fi signal. Not only does Red Rooster have Wi-Fi and coffee, but every table is ready for your electronic needs. No waiting for that one table with a hidden outlet to charge your devices. This is why I came here over other local coffee shops. The coffee is also why I'll return. The two women who made my drink, Lynaea and Allison, were friendly and on top of their busy long line. They were very kind and knew their drinks when I asked questions to narrow down my choice of their seasonal options. Pictured is the winter seasonal drink: Winter Spice Chai and a Chcolate Cake Pop. I look forward to stopping by here again soon.

On every adventure, we go to a local coffee shop and Res Rooster did not disappoint. Firstly, everything is fair trade and organic AND fantastic quality! Truly, the coffee was rich and aromatic and they have a very wide selection. One of best tasting coffee shops we’ve gone to recently for certain. Secondly, their syrup selections are all made in house and it SHOWS. My frappe had a rich and decadent flavor without all the additives in other store bought syrups. Third, they have free WiFi, their bathrooms were clean, and they have lots of places to sit. I really enjoyed my drink and would recommend them easily to anyone. Last, I did notice some complaining about the sizes, but I think that the prices are very comparable to Biggby and Starbucks (some menu items being much cheaper).
Elizabeth M — Google review
I always hunt out local coffee shops rather than buying from a chain. Red Rooster has good cold brew but I would have like to have a larger size? For what I pay, it feels like the serving is a bit small. Regardless, the atmosphere, employees, and WiFi are top notch. Today I listened to one of the baristas take the time to have a lengthy conversation with an obvious long time customer and I thought it was great! Keep up the good work!

Great coffee and atmosphere! They have fresh baked bread and delicious pour over coffee. I had the whole wheat bread with cashew butter and the decaf pour over with almond milk. I was in town for Labor Day weekend and wanted to come here to get some work done and check out the place. Would definitely recommend!

This is summer favorite for us when we visit Ludington. It has a great selection with creative and delicious offerings. I love the local connections to the menu with homemade syrups and honey from the local vendors. The atmosphere is clean, trendy and so friendly. A must stop if you are in the area and need your caffeine hit!

We stopped in here for a quick coffee and were impressed with the amount of space inside. It definitely seemed like a great spot to stop and have a coffee, maybe a small bite to eat with friends or to get some work done in the mornings. The coffee was good and the staff was kind and friendly.

It was our first time exploring the Manistee & Ludington areas. I searched for a local coffee shop for 2 days and nothing caught my attention until I came across Red Rooster. It was everything I was looking for. Family owned & simple yet very attractive & welcoming atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly. Syrups for lattes are house made which is something I always look for. My iced oat milk miel was made with local honey and it was delicious. I highly recommend. They also had a nice assortment of organic baked goodies including sliced sourdough with any spread you could want. We will make sure to stop here any time we are back in the area

Sandcastles Children's Museum in Ludington, with its deep maritime roots, offers an engaging experience for kids. The museum features over 30 interactive displays including a mini pizzeria, grocery store, and music studio. Originally established as a summer sampler museum in 2006, it has grown into a popular learning and play center with over 20,000 annual visitors. Supported by donations and volunteer efforts, the museum organizes workshops and projects for children.
This is one of our favorite places to go! They have three floors of amazing things for kids to do as well as a myriad of enriching programs and activities almost every single day they are open. Prices are reasonable, within walking distance of restaurants, and they also have a great room for birthday parties.

A great adventure/sensory option for ages 2-8. Hands on everything with 3 floors to explore each successive floor for an older age but still including something for a young age. An area for breastfeeding mothers available which was a plus! The sand pit construction zone while loved by the children was an unwelcome surprise to the parents, a warning at check-in would be nice. Not stroller accessible.

A child’s dream come true! We drove up from Muskegon because it’s a chilly cloudy day and we wanted an indoor activity and it was SO worth the drive. The play areas are well thought out and maintained. So much open-ended play! I was thankful there was plenty of hand sanitizer stations and a private nursing / baby changing room. An awesome place to play & learn and be a kid!

Sandcastles is a very cool place! They have all sorts of exhibits and everything is so hands-on. Our kids loved the bubbles and sand areas best. It is a bit pricey, I honestly don't feel like parents should be charged admission but it's ok. Still worth it for the fun the kids had. We spent about an hour and a half there and our kids are 13, 8, 5, and 5 months for context.

We went to the Mitten Bar last night for dinner and couldn't have been happier with our experience! The biggest highlight is that all of the food and beverages they serve are from Michigan--huge plus to support Michigan businesses! Was a little confused if I needed to go to the bar to order or if waitresses came by. After that was solved everything was excellent. Great beer selection. Pizza was amazing. Was devastated when the raccoons stole our "to go" pizza back at the campground.

We stopped here on our way home after reading so many great reviews. This is definitely not a "judge a book by its cover" kind of place. Once inside, the staff is helpful and friendly and checks on you often. And the food was delicious! I had the fried perch, and the batter was SO amazing. The serving size is more than enough. The hubs had the wet burrito, and it was huge and also really tasty. We will visit again when in the area.

This place was amazing! I came here on my last night of being in Ludington and this was jam packed. Homecoming and regulars and tourists. The staff handled everything quickly and efficiently. Great teamwork from what I witnessed. The food was great and the speed was just as good. I sat at the bar, got ID’d, and was able to place my order. I ended up getting the blueberry Moscow mule, water, and the fajita salad. Which was good. The veggies were really salty though so it was a bit rough to eat them. I would say it you have a large party, this place can handle it all. Pick this as your next big destination if you are coming in a large pack or a small group.

Great place for out-of-towners to visit. Everyone very polite and friendly. Nice craft beer selection, food menu ok. They have a stage and live music on occasion. Stopped for dinner here last night on an anniversary trip and was not disappointed! Our waitress was a hard worker, friendly and super attentive. Our food was delicious (Husband said his burger was in his top 5 best burgers ever) and our bill with drinks was less than expected. We weren't aware of an event happening in town and even with the extra people the staff were top notch. Hope to visit again one day!

Ate here on a Wednesday, quite sure they weren't expecting the rush they had because there were only two workers, one tending bar and another cooking. The guy taking care of the dining area was running around and trying to do it all; take orders from the dining room and people at the bar, deliver food and clear tables as new people would arrive, so i give credit to him. The food was good, the atmosphere was good as well; its definitely a local hang out. Id like to try here again, when its not so understaffed and busy because the reviews are great.

The bartender was the ONLY one working along the kitchen staff tonight, the only waitress, no one to bus tables, she had zero help. She ran her behind off making sure that everyone had a clean place to sit, had hot fresh food, cold drinks, overall service. She was incredible. Even though she was clearly screwed over she HUSTLED. We are here from out of town but will tell anyone we know to come visit when they are in town. Additionally my husband and I had the lake perch dinner (with waffle fries). The fries were soo crispy, seasoned well, the perch was perfectly lightly breaded and cooked. Everything was perfect. Thank you for taking care of us!

Stopped in to try the pizza here at Ludington Pub. It is a local hometown pub. The service was very good, especially considering there was only one waitress covering the whole bar. She did a fantastic job. We tried the pizza and also had the cheese curds, both were very good. For drinks I had a mule special they had going on, it was a bit heavy on the ginger. I also had a whiskey sour that was very good. We'll definitely go back.

Love this place! Great bar food, and exceptional service. They do get busy, and sometimes you might have to wait a bit, as they are sometimes tight on staff. Well worth it!

Sportsman's Restaurant & Bar is a long-standing Irish-style bar that has been serving up delicious thin-crust pies and other hearty fare in a warm and welcoming atmosphere for over 60 years. Whether you're looking to catch a football game while indulging in appetizers like Sporty's crazy crust and deep-fried pickle chips, treating your date to Great Lakes walleye, or enjoying one of their signature thin-crust pizzas with the family, this place has got you covered.
The best thin crust pizza in Ludington! The Sportsman's thin crust pizza rivals some of the best pizza I have ever had. I don't say that lightly since I come from Chicago where we have some of the best pizza in the world. If you are looking for great thin crust pizza don't hesitate to order from Sportsman's.

A good sports bar in Ludington. We came in on a Saturday night for dinner and drinks after a movie. One of the reasons was because they were one of the only places open past 10 ON A SATURDAY IN THE SUMMER. I don't know why after COVID places haven't gone back to normal hours but I'm glad his place has. The service was good. The host, bartender, and our server were all very nice. The menu is a good size, not too big, not too small. The beer selection was OK, not great. However, they did have custom cocktails which was cool. The food came out really fast which was good. It was also pretty good. The wings were good and definitely felt their own. We had the garlic Parmesan and Asian flavor, both were good and unique. The bacon Mac was also very creamy and good. The place is a nice sports bar, food themes, not tacky, and supports their local teams as well as the big Michigan ones. Recommended.

We come to Ludington for our yearly vacation and we decided to stop in and check this place out this year. Atmosphere was great. The depth of the restaurant makes it feel bigger than it probably is inside. We had fried pickles, onion rings, and pretzel bites for appetizers. All were fantastic, especially the onion rings, definitely get those! Now to the pizza... Oh man. I would be lying if I didn't tell you this was one of the best tavern style pizzas I've ever eaten. Simple sausage and pepperoni had us feeling some kind of way. My wife and mother in law got the chicken bacon ranch pizza and had the same thoughts. The only thing I could find wrong (personal taste) is the amount of garlic. I really like garlic and the pizza had maybe a touch too much. The server was great, could have used some more frequent stops, but it was Friday night and it was full in there, so kind of understandable. All in all, this will be a repeat stop for us every year and I'll tell anyone to stop in.

Food was good, I got the loaded burger, which all those toppings are right in my wheel house for favorites. My wife got the chicken tenders and she really enjoyed those. Prices were reasonable and service was very good as well. Atmosphere was very relaxed and plenty of TVs with sports on. Highly recommend.

First week of October and all decorated for Halloween, what fun! And oh is the food good!!! My husband had the best bacon cheese burger of our entire trip here, and I had a big bowl of quacamole mac and cheese, and yes, it's better than it sounds. Even the coffee is good here! Our server was friendly and fast. Definitely will come back!
Patti C — Google review
Good was really good, but we had to wait almost 40 minutes just for our appetizer, then our food came only 10 minutes after that. My server really liked to run her yap at the bar, instead of focusing on the people who weren’t at the bar. We even had a different bartender ask us if we needed anything which she shouldn’t have had to do. She also would constantly walk by our table without asking if we needed refills or how it was going or anything hence why she did not get a tip.
Sidney F — Google review
I recently returned to this restaurant for a family dinner after not visiting for quite some time. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. We ordered a variety of items, including sandwiches, a burger, and a chicken strip basket. Upon arrival, it became apparent that our server was also tending bar, which understandably divided her attention. As a result, service throughout the evening was inconsistent and less attentive than expected. When our meals were brought to the table, the server had difficulty finding space to place the plates due to leftover menus and appetizer dishes that had not yet been cleared. In the process of juggling the food, two of the four meals were accidentally dropped, spilling a large amount of sauce—some of which ended up on our legs and feet. The meals that did make it to the table were also disappointing, with sandwiches served on noticeably burnt bread. Adding to the frustration, my husband's replacement meal didn’t arrive until well after the rest of us had finished eating, preventing us from enjoying dinner together. There was no immediate effort to rectify the situation, which was disappointing given the circumstances. Finally, it took quite some time to receive our check and a to-go box, and during the meal we were never offered drink refills—something we would typically expect as part of basic service. While I understand that restaurants can have off nights, this visit did not meet expectations in terms of food quality, service, or overall experience. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving future guest experiences.

Don’t Bother!! I’ve never left a restaurant review before but felt this one was necessary. Our party of three walked in and gave our name to Jerry Thomas, who was hosting tonight. Jerry told us there would be a 15-35 minute wait and that he would call when a table was available. We just had time to walk across the street - less than 5 minutes - when my husband got a phone call from an unknown number listed as “Wolverine, Michigan.” Assuming it was a junk call, he did not pick up. Jerry, the host was calling from his personal cell and left a message saying that because we did not pick up, he gave away our table. We hurried back across the street and into the restaurant where he approached us. We explained the situation, and he said there was nothing he could do. He admitted that he told us 15-35 minutes but said it’s not really his job to gauge table turnover time. He also admitted that he called from his personal cell phone and not from a restaurant line and that, yes, it is not a Ludington number. When I asked what he could do, he said that he could put our name back on the waiting list, but at the bottom below parties that had come in after us. Truly, I can’t recall ever receiving such poor treatment from a hospitality establishment. This young man does not belong in customer service, and the restaurant does not deserve patrons if it supports such an unprofessional policy.

Dedra told us they were overbooked and we walked out with sad faces. As we got in the car to go somewhere else, she came out and said they had two cancels for the wait list!!!! We came back in out of the rain and enjoyed a Philly cheesesteak and battered pollock. Fabulous place, down to earth. NOTE: maps has the place across the street, which is a real estate office. Look across the road!!!

My family used to love this place 30 years ago. We couldn't get enough of it. So I decided to try it again since I was in town. It didn't live up to memory. I got a BLT that was scrawny (how hard it is to make a good BLT?) and my daughter had a burger that wasn't much to crow about. The only good things served at our table looked to be the wet burritos, but even those, I'm told, were only okay.

The S.S. Badger Lake Michigan Carferry Service is a historic coal-fired steamer that crosses Lake Michigan from Manitowoc to Ludington. Named after the University of Wisconsin's athletic teams, it is the largest car and passenger ferry on the Great Lakes. Operating daily from mid-May to mid-October, it can accommodate 600 passengers and 180 vehicles.
My daughter and I took the S.S. Badger from Michigan to Wisconsin on the night run and then came back from Wisconsin to Michigan on a day time run. My daughter is 12 and had the the most amazing time ever!!!! She really enjoyed playing BINGO and exploring the ship. Food was good and prices of food were very reasonable. The crew was fantastic and just above and beyond pleasant to be around!!! I’ll definitely be going again!!! Thank you for such a great time!!!

We have wanted to take the SS Badger forever, so we were thrilled to finally take our maiden cruise. 🚢 This is a one-of-a-kind experience. We would encourage everyone to take advantage of the movie, the sun deck, Bingo, the gift shop, and everything else. If you want a post card of the ship, be sure to get one in the gift shop. I’m sad we didn’t . But the whole experience, from blow horn leaving to the mooring at the end, was fantastic.
Kristine B — Google review
We had a blast (instead of driving around the lake) heading to our niece’s wedding. The ride was fun and weather perfect. Highly recommend to those looking for an experience instead of just a long drive. We played bingo, lounged on the deck in the sun, and enjoyed the breeze.

The S.S. Badger Ferry is a great way to "drive" between northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan. Although dated, the ship is clean and comfortable and has many modern amenities. The Crew (hands) makes the voyage fun and interesting. It has a museum exhibit covering ferry transportation. The four hours are stress free when compared to driving through Chicago and the time onboard is enhanced with Bingo and Trivia games. A truly enjoyable way to travel on U.S. Highway 10!
Rich H — Google review
We loved the ride, it truly was a once in a lifetime experience for us. The staff was super friendly for the most part. I really enjoyed the thoughtful touches they had to keep you entertained while on board. We also happened to have amazing weather when we went so that definitely helped! They had free soda refills which is nice because you don’t see that much anymore and that worked for coffee as well. I think opportunities for improvement would be better wayfinding signage, maybe an informative posted agenda and overall a bit of a renovation, although it was unique in character. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Oh I should also mention, I had to change my reservation 3 times and they accommodated me each time with zero issues. I did have to pay a fee when I canceled my SUV and added a passenger ticket for my mom who has health issues so we decided to forego the jeep trip around the state and come back the same day. I was hoping we wouldn’t have to pay that fee with adding another round trip passenger but I also didn’t ask for it so it’s on me. We loved the badger bingo and the food was actually a little better than expected. And best of all… we made it! :)
Amanda L — Google review
What a great experience. The ship was much taller than I thought it would be. It swallowed up a whole parking lot full of cars, trucks and busses. We entered the vessel at the stern and up the stairs we went into the waiting/game room. There we had bingo to play while alcohol drinks and cafeteria style food were available for purchase. It was a foggy day so we heard plenty of the fog horn. My favorite part was the great gift shop and shouts of "Big ship, great fun!" The only drawbacks for me were the cost and the length of time (about 4 hours) it takes to get across Lake Michigan. Glad the water was calm.

Nestled in a charming Victorian storefront, Jamesport Brewing Company is Ludington's first brew pub, offering a warm and rustic atmosphere that reflects the town's history. The building, which originated as a saloon and hotel in the late 1800s, boasts high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and wide wooden doors. The extensive menu features lunch, dinner, cocktails, and handcrafted beers like the popular Blueberry Wheat made with Michigan blueberries.
Food was very delicious and the prices were reasonable for what we received. We both did the “build your own burger” option, with the gluten free bun being a +$3 up charge and sweet potato fries an up charge as well. Service was great! My water was constantly refilled (which really appreciated) and the waiter made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend! I also uploaded an updated menu as the older one I found in reviews was outdated. :)

Chill atmosphere, solid food! Wait times for food were pretty slow though. I had the prime rib special which was seasoned quite well. The fried perch was lightly fried and very tender, not overcooked and flaky either!

Days after discovering Jamesport Brewing, we were still raving about how good the Weizenbock beer was. On top of that, the Spicy Cheddar Cheese Curds were the best cheese curds I've ever had. Wish we lived near enough to be regulars!

I'd like to tell you that their Perch Dinner was excellent, but it was never served. Three of us sat here for over an hour. The waitress came and said our meals would be out in a few minutes. Time passed, she came by the table next to us, never saying a word. Finally when another server delivered meals to a group of diners who had come in after us, we left money for our drinks and left.

We started with the cheese curds and they were excellent. The cherry sirloin was well-prepared, but the mixed vegetables were a little undercooked. The baked mac & cheese was very tasty. The service was solid. We’d eat here again!

Located in Ludington, Michigan, The Q Smokehouse is a popular barbecue restaurant known for its slow-smoked meats and homestyle sides. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with rustic decor featuring wood paneling and exposed brick walls. Guests can enjoy delicious barbecue plates such as the Spicy German sandwich or the Big Boss. Additionally, the restaurant offers dinner packages prepared by Chef Dan Brooks for special occasions.
This little smoked barbecue spot in **Ludington, Michigan** is an absolute must every time we visit—so much so that we plan at least *two days* around getting barbecue! It's that good. The flavors are incredible—some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. But here’s the deal: they have specific hours and often **sell out**, so plan accordingly. Don’t wait until dinner time or you might show up to find the doors closed and the smoker empty (trust me, it’s heartbreaking). We usually grab our food to-go and enjoy it at the beach or at a nearby picnic spot, but they also offer indoor seating if you prefer to stay. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, make this place a priority when you're in town. **Bonus for gluten-free folks:** they offer a **gluten-free barbecue sauce**—just be sure to ask when ordering to get the right one. Pro tip: pick up your food earlier in the day and stash it in your cooler or fridge if needed—you won’t regret it!

This place is a must-stop if you are in the Ludington MI area. The food was fantastic. We had a good mix of items and all were delicious. My teenager raved about the Mac and cheese and I had a pork belly burnt ends baked potato bowl that was the best I’ve had. The restaurant itself was clean, had great seating and I enjoyed the art on the walls (all available for sale, done by local artists). I had a great time and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I love the option to purchase meals for a “pay it forward” system. I left with a full heart from that and a full belly with the food. Can’t wait to go back on our next trip.

We had heard good things about Qs. However, we were a bit nervous when we walked in at 5pm on a Friday to a completely empty restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly, and we ordered ribs, pork belly burnt ends, pulled pork, brisket, Mac n cheese, beans, corn bread, and a pulled pork sandwich. With a few Faygos to wash it down. Wanted to basically try all the smoked meats. We sat out back, and the staff brought out our meal quickly. We popped open the containers, and my first impression was that it looked a bit dry. We dove in and pigged out 🐖 🐷 The smoked meats were delicious, the ribs and burnt ends that looked dry were moist and full of flavor. The brisket bark was absolutely delicious. The mac n cheese was like mom used to make. The only criticism I would have is that the cornbread was dry, and the beans were just not my liking. I have tried BBQ all over the country, and this was a standout
Jason S — Google review
Food was bland no fountain drinks very limited drinks in cooler. Way too many political options posted on windows. So close to walking away since owners support everyone except America not sure why I supported an American small business. Employees were very friendly, only positive.
Adam H — Google review
We live in town and have tried this place 3 times. I wish we could give it a better review. The food is just so expensive for what you get. They always seem to be out of things like brisket and their sides are just ok. They do have some good queso and homemade chips but again, it’s really expensive for such a small portion. On a side note, they can’t seem to decide if they are a restaurant or a political mouthpiece. While we were eating outside, we watched several people walk up, read the political posters on the front door, and walk away. But they seem to do well, so they must have a good following.

Great location in Ludington, walkable to the water and town stores and restaurants. Hosts were kind and welcoming. Breakfast was very good—quiche, salad, fruit. Stayed her for one night on a leaf peeping tour. What a wonderful B&B! Beautiful home and Dan & Jen have thought of everything one needs! Our room was the Carpenter Room, it was very comfortable and having a fridge with water and soda right outside the rooms for the guests is always so nice! The coffee/tea/cocoa bar in the dining room 24/7 with a yummy dessert available was much appreciated. Jen is a wonderful chef, breakfast was delicious! An Incredible Bed and Breakfast location. In a previous review, another person wrote that the Lamplighter is the epitome of a B&B experience. We wholeheartedly agree. It was a beautiful place, with great owners and an exceptional breakfast. Loved it and we plan to visit again.

This was the most delightful stay when traveling through Michigan, then onto the ferry to Wisconsin. So convenient and comfortable. It was an easy walk to the town and lots of breweries and restaurants. Quiet and the hosts, Dan and Jen should write a book on hospitality. The breakfast was t5 stars and the strawberry biscuits were to die for. If you are going to Michigan it is worth the stop!
Joyce M — Google review
The high rating is due in large part to the exceptional efforts of the hosts to make the stay a treat. Jen got up before we left at 5:00 am(!) to prepare a bagged breakfast for our fishing charter. And it was absolutely delicious, as was the more usual breakfast next morning out on the deck. The rooms were very clean and quiet, although most of the rooms are on the 2nd floor. The setting and house are quite pleasant and in generally very good condition. My least favorite aspect is that the B&B is located on a fairly busy street, although the noise does not seem to reach into the house.

Buttersville Park is a picturesque spot located on a bluff between Lake Michigan and Pere Marquette Lake. It offers breathtaking views of the surrounding waters, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers. The park features a dog-friendly beach, perfect for enjoying the sun and sand with your furry companion. Visitors can also explore the nearby campgrounds as an alternative to the state park.
The view is incredible. We are going to go to Stearns beach but it was packed. Found this hidden gem and couldn't have been happier. There's a camp ground down the road as well. Barely anyone there for the size of the huge beach. Pure Lake Michigan. Pet friendly and it does have portable Patty's. You'll see the light house and many sailboats and big yachts that are beautiful to look at. It's a must see beach in Ludington!

Arriving shortly after its opening, The Alley Bar & Grill impressed with its amazing bartender who exuded exceptional politeness and friendliness. Their recommended dishes, such as the burger and curly fries, were thoroughly enjoyed by customers. Even the steak left a lasting impression on one guest, who couldn't stop raving about it hours later. Despite being understaffed in the kitchen, the food was promptly served and tasted superb.
Best kept "secret" in downtown Ludington and the best burgers and sandwiches in town! Staff is always super friendly and the wait is never long even on a busy night. Definitely more of a locals place but there's always a mix of out of towners during the summer. Earlier in the evening is quieter but later the bar starts to fill up. Even if you have an aversion to "dive bars" I recommend you check them out!
Adam B — Google review
It's a typical dive bar with a solid mix of what appears to be regulars and out of town visitors. The barstools were full when I arrived but the bartender was fantastic at greeting everyone that walked in. There were plenty of seats and a couple of pool tables. Ordered dinner to go and it was as expected. Nothing to jump up and down about but it was filling.

Quick service and friendly service. Only downside is we were threatened by a man playing pool as soon as we walked in the door, told us we were going to get taken out if we didn’t move out of his way. Cheese curds were the best thing we got. Key takeaway, this place is NOT tourist friendly. Don’t go here if you’re a tourist.
Grace K — Google review
The apple sauce and curly fries were a perfect complement to my burger that had thick slices on the most beautiful tomato on it. I would come back here for sure. Prices are not bad!
Kirsten K — Google review
Its a must stop for us when were in town, we love the staff even though one person should not be running the bar and taking out food. Many things get lost in the chaos like condiments or napkins or refills. Awesome old bar atmosphere though. Lots of room for billiards and beer pong.
Niel S — Google review
Very cool atmosphere. Fun staff, good times .
Tony T — Google review
I adore this little bar, it has a hidden depth to it and better music selection then tiki, a little mix of all tastes are played and doesn't take years to play a request. Drinks are better price and the staff are always working hard but with a friendly face. I have been going here for years. The pool tables are great and the music is sweet. Highly recommend!!!

Breakfast restaurant
Brenda's Harbor Cafe is a locally owned eatery that offers a delightful selection of breakfast and lunch dishes in a cozy ambiance adorned with maritime-themed decorations. This establishment is renowned for its exceptional service, treating both locals and out-of-towners with equal warmth and friendliness on every visit. The menu consistently delivers delicious food, while the attentive staff, including waiters Cassie and Paula, add to the enjoyable atmosphere by engaging in pleasant conversations.
We were there this morning having breakfast before boarding the Badger. They were very busy. The waitress informed us she was alone and we could seat ourselves. I have to admit, I initially thought it wasn't going to be a good experience. Boy was I wrong. The waitress kept the coffee full. The food was done quickly and correctly. And the prices were extremely reasonable. I had steak and eggs. My daughter had eggs benedict and a swedish burrito. The food really was very good. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely visit and highly recommend.
Tracy C — Google review
Great service cute little place. I liked it cause it had some different menu items like Swedish pancakes. Everything was delicious!
Bret B — Google review
What an incredibly mixed bag. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich as I wanted something light, cold, crunchy, and refreshing - what i got was whole chunks of chicken in what appeared to be pure mayonnaise. Not a dice of onion or celery to be spotted, just pure bland thick whiteness. Couldn't get more than three bites in. However, the Swedish pancake I ordered was literally so delicious that I ended up adding on a second one. The sweet potato fries were just okay but looked a little overcooked to my eye and maybe felt a bit dry texturally. To get my protein in since I couldn't do the chicken sandwich, I asked for an over-medium sunny-side up egg, which was just okay and a little underdone to my taste with some translucent white around the yolk; the turkey bacon, which was pretty good; and the sage sausage link, which was actually juicy, even though I wish it had been browned on more than just one side. In conclusion: I would only recommend going if you absolutely know that what you want is an item they do well, because there are some ups and DOWNS on this menu. (Unless you know you only want Swedish pancakes. Then I can unreservedly recommend that you go.)

I ordered the Eggs Benedict one Tuesday morning in late May. The dish was less than what it should have been. The product used could have been better. The hash browns were skimpy and lacking. The atmosphere and service, however, were pleasant.

We LOVED this local spot! Just in town for the week & happens upon Brenda’s for breakfast. We got served by Brenda herself & she was so sweet! We felt genuinely welcomed and her service was the best of the best! Food was absolutely delicious and came out quickly. Would recommend this to anyone popping by Ludington! Thanks, Brenda!

Total miss for me. Had breakfast there and I ordered the Southern Benny. Overcooked by a lot. Eggs did not run at all. Staff was friendly and kept my coffee full. My daughter had an orange juice and said she didn't like it. I tried it and it was kind of bitter. We won't be going back here.
Don C — Google review
While vacationing in the area, we stumbled upon Brenda’s Café and were blown away. The staff is amazing and the food is even better! On our first visit, I had the veggie omelet and the texture was perfect. When we returned the next day, I tried the chocolate chip pancakes and they were incredible! We ended up coming back four times during our week-long stay just for their delicious breakfast. We were lucky enough to have a waitress named Brenda three of those times. Since the restaurant is called Brenda’s Café, I assume she is the owner and if so, she is a delight! If you're in the area, you must eat here. We’ll absolutely return next time we’re nearby!

I have. een buying all my prescriptions through Walmart for several years. all of a sudden they are not getting my scripts. I te them I have prescriptions filled by them in my refrigerator the girl looks meet straight in the face and says to me " you must be getting them filled somewhere else". and the don't expect me to get aggravated at that statement. I paid for i t and it has the Walmart sticker on it. Just another example of people not respecting others. maybe time to go back to Meijer. if I going to be called a liar then I might as well go where it is less expensive. Customer service means nothing to these people and they do their best to make the experience as horrible as possible. the comment alone should be enough to get her fired. then the pharmacist saying to me she is just reading what is in the computed. I stiffness you look that computer never told her to tell me I must have gotten them from somewhere else. and defended her without checking in to what she had verbally said to me. if I said something like to a customer I would be immediately terminated. if you dislike your job that much then you should probably quit. no one deserves to bee treated like that. I did change my tone of voice after she made that statement because it made me mad. I am a customer and should never be told am a liar by a employee. and that statement said exactly that to me. plus I wear a CGM and was never told to pick it up when it was filled. so they. canceled it without even notifying me. that wad the other thing she's and wecancellef it be you didn't come pick it up in time. hard for me to know when a prescription is filled if you don't inform me. I am stressed and aggravated because I need these things to sustain my life. and then to take verbal abuse from people that are suppose to be providing the customer service is ridiculous. she. needs to be fired.

PU order for 1 pants and 4 vitamins disaster. In store they brought no capris ordered and only 1 vitamin. Said vitamin out of stock. I actually looked at capris in store at same time and purchased a pair. Checked vitamin online and "in stock". I bought them at Target instead without issue. Vitamin online 7.97 but instore 14.00 approximately at walmart. 7.99 at Target without grief. Have to order 35.00 minimum for free shipping at walmart...not Target.
Mary — Google review
Unlike other store's websites, you cannot check inventory and prices on line. The prices shown do NOT reflect the actual price of whatever you are interested in buying unless you buy above minimum amounts, and the people on the service desk are either unaware or uncaring, depending on who you talk to. So, because you SEE an item on sale at $6.00 on their store's website (NOT on Walmart.com) the store's price was more than at Meijer! That's called bait and switch.

Walmart Grand Haven, MI — You just lost a loyal customer. I’ve been a Walmart+ member for years, spending over $1,000 a month on groceries, pharmacy, and household items. But today, I’m done. Your refusal to accept a valid, state-issued temporary ID for a Western Union pickup is outrageous. That ID is provided by the State of Michigan for legal use — yet your staff refused it, hiding behind a ridiculous corporate policy. What are people supposed to do when they’re waiting on their permanent ID? Apparently, Walmart expects us to stop living our lives. Meanwhile, Meijer right next door has been saving me money — and treating me like a human being. They’re getting all my business now. Walmart expects loyalty but offers none in return. Congratulations on losing a $12,000-a-year customer over pure nonsense

I was at grand haven walmart Sunday afternoon. I needed an electric scooter, my balance is not good. I was scooting along minding my business when 2 workers came up on me , blonde younger guy whispered something to brunette guy and i heard the brunette guy say "no" and then blonde worker literally shoved other boy into me as aome kind of joke, luckily the boy was strong enough to stop himself from falling on me. Really!!!!! These are the kind of workers walmart is hiring now apparently. This worker should be fired immediately, not returning to this store

A fenced-in playground with modern bathrooms and a path to a sandy Lake Michigan beach. What's not to like? Stop at Bortells fresh fish market, which is just a skip up the road, and bring the yummy meal back and eat at the park. There are plenty of tables and benches. ( We had whitefish, catfish, and cod, and it was all a treat) Take the path down behind the playground, and the beach is about 25 yards away. The beach is 95% sand with just enough pebbles to keep a rock hound interested. Great place to watch a sunset. Hikers: Consider walking south along the beach about 1 mile to the mouth of the creek that empties Bass Lake. A beautiful and very " off the beaten path" area to wade through the shallow river mouth and relax on the beach. ( Mack Rd)

Great place to have a picnic with a loved one or family. Spend time walking the shoreline. An Awesome place to catch a romantic sunset. This park also has a great playground for the kids. The beach is sandy and ready for sand castles to be built. On your way into the park, make sure to grab some fresh fish from Bortell's to enjoy in the park. Enjoy!

Beautiful park. Large parking lot and gorgeous beach! Beautiful rocks just below the shoreline. Kids love it here! Bathrooms are not very pleasant but they are flushing so still way better then the vault toilets.

Very nice area for rock hunters. Nice beach, play area, picnic area.
Anne H — Google review
Lovely park with lots of activity options. For the kids, there is a pirate ship shaped play structure, S.S.Summit and with other playground things around it including swings. There is a basketball hoop and a tennis court closer to the entrance and a ball diamond next to the playground. As you get closer to the beach, there are lots of picnic tables. The beach is pretty neat. It's large enough and clean. There is a little creek flowing into Lake Michigan nearby. The kids who were there when I visited blocked the water and made a little pool for themselves. I also saw people hunting rocks. When I visited the enclosed pavilion was rented for a wedding and they had people using that building. I don't think that's usually open. The only thing that's tricky about this park is the accessibility of beach. There's sand/wood/root stairs going down to the beach and they're pretty uneven. I don't have any accessibility issues myself but it looked dangerous. In fact, when I was about to go back to my car, two old ladies were coming downstairs and one of them fell down. Thank goodness she didn't fall badly and was OK. Edit: Forgot to mention the pavilion.
Feryal A — Google review
This is the cutest park! My kids loved playing on the pirate ship playground and then wandering over to the beach to look for rocks. Great view of Lake Michigan from the picnic tables under the shade too. It has both men's and women's restroom as well which I appreciate!

It was okay. It depends on what you are used to. The service was great and staff were very nice. They have a nice pool and furnish a lot of towels out by the pool. The pool is outside and open until 10:00 p.m. The breakfast is grab-n-go (muffins, yogurt, coffee, make your own toast) - that's about it. No lobby. Came with coffee maker, hair dryer, refrigerator/freezer (there is a place to get ice), A/C worked well, TV worked well. Our biggest issue is that it wasn't super clean.

Dried bodily stains on bed cover! Unsanitary and Unsafe. I always check for bed bugs - I did not find any but I found several spots of dried bodily fluid stains on the mattress cover. Nauseated. I went back to the front desk showing pictures and the lady informed me the owners have to take a look before they decide what they want to do. They didn’t have any more rooms lefts and I just wanted a refund to leave. I showed the two owners that were elderly and the Man didn’t see the problems. He kept trying to tell me the sheet covers it just fine. I told him that it is not right to just not remove it and wash it. I couldn’t believe the push back. Then I realized the stains are from other stays and they don’t care to change but put another cover over it. I left and didn’t stay as I don’t trust the cleanliness and safety of the rest of the room. I couldn’t get a refund because they said I booked through 3rd party.
Kani — Google review
From the outside, it looks inviting with a gazebo, pool, and greenery. And then you go inside and you think ok I mean I only paid $350 for 3 nights. That's not bad. I can stay here and then you go into the restroom, and there is hair and dead spiders all against the floor boards. And there is what smells like pee coming up from between the floorboards. So my socks are soaked right away. I go and let the front desk know and they say that they will send somebody to come clean it. Well, they only cleaned one side of the floorboards and left the other side completely dirty. They wiped one part of the floorboard but left the entrance of the bathroom still dirty. So we just put towels down, and every time, we would walk into the bathroom. The towels would be soaking wet from whatever was coming up from the flooring. So we mentioned it again that it was still leaking and they said that they would take care of it and we did not stay inside at the hotel a lot because I came up for my step mom's funeral. So we did not mention it again until we were leaving. She said that we did not say anything about it when, in fact, we mentioned it twice and told them that we ruined 2 pairs of socks because they smelt like pee and that so many towels were soaked in wet from whatever was coming up from the floorboards, and they said that it is water from the pipes that comes up from the floor which okay fine but why not offer us another room? Or tell us that that may happen or give us a discount or a partial refund or something. They didn't even say they were sorry. I have never left a bad review like this in any of the reviews I have left. I have not been back to Michigan in 25 years, and I will never stay at this hotel again and I hope that you do not stay here either. Room 141 Beware!! Disgusting 🫣 🤮 by the way, the pool was disgusting. The hot tub was cold, and there was so much stuff floating around the top of the hot tub that I wish it was hot enough to kill whatever was in there because I'm assuming that it didn't kill anything.
Chastity F — Google review
We stay here every year. The rooms are clean and housekeeping comes every day with fresh towels. Great location and is close to Stearns Park and the House of Flavors.
Danon H — Google review
We stayed here the night before taking the SS Badger to Wisconsin. The price was comparable to other places in the area, but was quite expensive considering how outdated it is. We had a jacuzzi room which had a nice layout. However, the bed in room 159 was TERRIBLE. It was so hard and we could feel the springs, almost as if there was no padding at all. When returning the key the next day to the office, per instructions as it is a regular metal key, I advised the owner that this mattress needed to be replaced immediately before anyone else attempted to sleep on it.
Tammie H — Google review
The bed was really hard and really had no pillows. The breakfast was horrible one piece of bread and a little muffin. Nothing else. The ice machine barely worked and the pop machines didn't work at all. Was not very pleased with the hotel or the people running it.

The Port of Ludington Maritime Museum, housed in a historic Coast Guard Station, offers an interactive journey through the maritime history of Ludington. Visitors can explore exhibits on Lake Michigan's carferries, the Armistice Day Blizzard of 1940, and Great Lakes shipwrecks.
Three story museum with the second floor mostly dedicated to the deadly Armistice Day storm in November 1940. Other floors dedicated to history of the Coast Guard station, commercial shipping, fishing, transportation etc. I lost count but I believe there are over a dozen video monitors that show short clips on every navigational topic you can image. Including one station with audio interviews of two sailors who miraculously survived the loss of their ship during the fierce storm. Excellent museum particularly if you wish to learn more about the Coast Guard and shipping on the Great Lakes.
Allen S — Google review
An amazing little museum (was originally a coast guard facility) with tons of hands on exhibits for the kids! We and the kids enjoyed it.
Mr. ( — Google review
We love this museum. It's modest in size - 3 floors but not a huge footprint - and every display is so well done. There are interactive parts the kids can touch that are well integrated into all three floors in the main display areas. I really like that they don't put all the most kid friendly bits off in one area, and that all the most kids friendly bits and truly all-ages: they might be the parts that will engage kids most, but adults can enjoy them too. Every area is so well thought out, and the storytelling with facts and visuals is top-notch. I find shipwrecks interesting but I'm not particularly into maritime things, but I am never bored there, and this was our fifth summer in a row going! You can get a good quick overview of everything it has to offer in an hour, or you could spend an afternoon and read every single bit of information in every room and immerse yourself - both are satisfying.

This place is amazing. Best fried fish I've had by far. We hit this on our drive up from Cincinnati to go camping. Ate it on the beach at the park the employees recommended. Day 2 we left our camp and belongings and hiked out so we could come here again. Incredibly fast, incredibly delicious. Got the smoked trout the second time and it is the best smoked fish I've ever had. Truly a remarkable place.

Bortell's has been around forever, but they still have the best, freshest, tastiest fish you can find. You gotta love a fish place with a line out the door at 5:30 on a Thursday -- you know that their food doesn't sit around languishing in its tray waiting for customers and getting old. This fish is hopping out the door at a wicked pace, and the line really moves! The employees know their stuff: the service was fast and efficient. The dinner basket has 1/2 lb fish of your choice (and there are lots of choices) + crispy, delicious fries and a nice vinegar-y coleslaw. Always good. We stop every year on our annual trip (40 years!). Carry out only, so no rating for "Atmosphere" -- but it's clean and well-maintained.

Was recommended to visit here by our pastor and it did not disappoint! Huge variety of fish (fried, smoked and take home raw) for every one’s preference. Prices were a little higher than expected but the taste was worth it! Place was packed and the line was out the door and I can see why. Totally recommend trying Bortell’s

Best fish basket dinners. Especially the smelt, perch and Icelandic cod. And the Norwegian smoked salmon is the best I have ever had. If you enjoy smoked fish you must try the Norwegian smoked salmon. They have been smoking fish for over 100 years! August 1 2025. Returned for my summer time treat. Best fried fish and best smoked fish. Especially the Norwegian Smoked salmon. Outstanding!! Reminder - Cash or checks only and limited picnic table seating outside.

Since 1964, this family-owned establishment has been serving up a variety of dishes including stuffed mushrooms, chops, prime rib, fish, seafood, steak and burgers. The restaurant offers a relaxing environment with classic decor and also serves brunch on Sundays featuring sweet breakfast options like Swedish pancakes and Texas French toast.
We ate there for the first time in years. It was great! I had the fried perch and it was excellent. Pan fried in butter, but not greasy. Perfect amount. My wife had the prime rib and again excellent. Cooked perfectly. All the new restuarants around Ludington popping up in the past 10years or so, we sort of forgot about Scotty's. We will be back. Some of the best food in Ludington as far as we are concerned. I took the pictures after I had eaten a few pieces of perch. You get more than what is in the photo.

Food was terrible. I've seen the owners respond to others bad reviews but I counted 7 bad reviews in 3 weeks so obviously I'm not the only one. Clam chowder was inedible and tasted incredibly fishy. My French onion looked like gruel. Drink was never refilled sitting on the side of the table. Meat was bland and not cooked to order. Lobster was also not good. Twice baked potato looked made yesterday. We tipped our waitress because it's not her fault the food is terrible. Good luck!

The food is ok for that in the area and the price. Takes awhile for any meal. Not much if you are Gluten-free. Friendly staff. If you like fish meals, this is the place for it. I had all you can eat shrimp but that was a regular size and then when I asked for more they gave me 8 more but said they usually give you 4 more at a time. They are peel and eat shrimp and not that big. Plus the additional cost if using credit card they tell you at the end. If you have time and like fish and friend fish meals or shrimp this is the local place to go.

My lobster was over cooked. My steak was flavorless and raw. I ordered med/rare this came out something different. Not even a sear, just raw. Waiter was nice. Thats all ican say..

I would just like to start this review off with saying. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT HORRIBLE FOOD, AND SERVICE. I came to get one of my favorite dishes, broiled white fish, I noticed they had it on the menu and was brave enough to try it.. BIG mistake. I have no been to this restaurant before but I did not expect this bad of service! My fish came out completely raw! It was flopping on the floor! I called out the owner and after a good 15 minutes of excuses he finally gave me his name. Then the owner (Kyle) proceeded to tell me the fish was in fact not raw and thought it would be a good idea to slap me across the face with the fish! My kids were traumatized. We will in fact never be coming here again.

Just wanna start of by saying this is our goto restaurant for dinner and it is always a great experience the food was so good that we started with 2 appetizers of the onion rings the sauce is amazing and the lobster tails were so good and presentation was great 10/10 recommend

Best lobster dinner!!! We keep coming back for more, the food and service are great! Best restaurant in town!

Fish fry was excellent! Fries had good flavor, nice sweet tartar sauce, and good crisp coleslaw. I tried some of each fish with the all-you-can-eat special, and the cod was the best. Has a very thin, light batter. Lake perch dinner was also very good, lightly dusted with flour then fried.

Picture yourself sipping on a steaming latte while flipping through pages of captivating novels or exploring an impressive collection dedicated to manga—truly a haven for book lovers! The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for quiet afternoons spent with local interest books or even just catching up on the newspaper.
Coffee and gluten free cookie were delicious. I look forward to returning to spend more time looking at the books. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy your coffee and a good book!

This was the final stop on our bookstore crawl. The store was well laid out and easy to navigate. The cafe appeared to have a great selection. We did not partake on the cafe though.

Incredible bookstore with a very wide selection, and they offer great coffee and pastries as well. We always make a point to come here when we’re in the area, and we’ve spent hours inside!

I really like this place. It’s cute and quaint, and it has a little something for everyone. I don’t know any other bookstores with an entire shelf dedicated to manga, and oh my gosh it was heaven! I got three manga. I don’t know much about the food because I only came for the books, but I had a lil 75¢ nutty candy and it was good. If you want a good selection of books, you should go here.

Friendly. Coffee and tea with great pastry and small salads. It's a book store that's more... community minded. Great gathering place. Good books too!!

Love this place! I like the selection of books there. A lot of older children’s books and a good selection of classics. The coffee shop inside is a definite plus.
