Oscoda Beach Park is a popular destination for bird enthusiasts, with over 450 different species of birds found in the Michigan trails, state parks, and wildlife areas. The park features a 150 ft. universally accessible walking pier built in 2012, offering great fishing opportunities and picturesque views throughout the year. Additionally, it provides a lighted path at night and benches for relaxation.
Best beach in Oscoda area. Has a little of everything. Plentiful beach area & well maintained sand. Kids playground. Skate area, boardwalk with incredible view. Within walking distance of ice cream shoppes, restaurants, and movie theater.

The beach was nothing short of breathtaking. The view was stunning, the water sparkled beautifully, and the weather was just perfect it all came together like a dream. The calm waves, the gentle breeze, and the endless horizon created such a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. Every moment spent here felt magical, making it the kind of place you’d never want to leave. We traveled 4 hours to get here, and it was absolutely worth every minute of the journey. Truly a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and soak in nature’s beauty.

Great place to take a 10-year-old. Lake Huron is amazing and they have a nice pier and playground. Great place to spend a few hours.

This is one of the nicest beaches in Michigan. There's a clean beach, a splash pad, and a playground for kids. You can walk out pretty far before it gets deep.

Oscoda is one of my favorite places to escape SE Michigan life. Oscoda Beach is gorgeous. White sand beach, crystal clear blue water. Cold water, the way I like it. You will never regret visiting this place.

Cafe
Sunrise Kava Cafe is a popular spot known for its delectable sweet treats and top-notch coffee. The downtown cafe not only offers an array of hot and iced drinks but also serves up mouthwatering lunch options. Visitors can indulge in freshly baked muffins, breads, cake pops, fruit and nut bars, cookies, brownies, and more. In addition to the tempting sweets, the cafe features a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and breakfast burritos.
What a cute coffee shop in an amazing location. I had a wonderful hot coffee this morning on a brisk morning walk. I will be back ...and maybe for some tasty food!!
Jessica — Google review
Seems to be a lean operation, but they get what needs to done. I ate in and enjoyed the atmosphere and views from the windows. They are busy, so a little patience is needed. Tried one of their signature lattes, which was good, but could have been slightly warmer. Overall very good experience and I’ll be coming back! Last thing, as other reviewers have noted, hours are limited, so don’t come too late.
Steven H — Google review
Delicious coffee and food. We arrived at 8:15 and there was already a line out the door (they opened at 8). I got a Milky Way iced mocha the first day and a chocolate and caramel iced mocha the second. Also got a croissant and everything was delicious.
Allison A — Google review
Cute and comfy café with a big selection of specialty espresso drinks, delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches, as well as donuts, brownies, pastries, and other treats. Always decorated with fresh flowers from a nearby flower shop - Enchanted Blooms. Also features some outdoor seating and a quick walk to the beach.
Tara K — Google review
Oscoda has a special place in our hearts and we are so grateful it has a top notch coffee shop for coffee snobs like us. The kids love the bubble tea and the delicious pastries. They have great coffee in a variety of roasts and the breakfast burritos and sandwiches are on point! Highly recommend this little gem a short walk from the beach!
Brandon C — Google review
Such a cute little coffee shop by Oscoda Beach! You can either eat inside, outside or take your coffee and walk near the beach! I enjoyed the Milky Way iced specialty drink. It was delicious! You can get hot or cold drinks, bubble teas, and they had baked pastries and breakfast sandwiches for more treats. The staff was super nice and helpful. I'd definitely recommend!
Rachel V — Google review
We got the bagel sandwich and breakfast croissant, both were very good. Variety of coffee drinks, some served hot or cold. Online menu is pretty updated which isn't always the case. Baked goods looked good too. Ate outside on the patio which is dog friendly. They were busy but the wait wasn't long. Service was fast & friendly & the were helpful with any questions. Would definitely recommend & come again.

Love this place! Got the Harry Potté which was a bit sweet so went back the next day and got it “less sweet” and it was perfect! Breakfast burrito was excellent. Toddler got the donut but didn’t care for it.

Outdoor Activities
Resort hotel
Lakewood Shores Resort is a golfer's paradise offering 72 holes of golf on 4 courses, including the family-friendly Wee Links pitch and put 18-hole course and The Gailes acclaimed course with a Scottish seaside feel. The resort also provides comfortable accommodations, full-service dining, and fun family activities like fishing and horseback riding. Visitors can enjoy uniquely decorated rooms with all the necessary amenities for a splendid experience.
We just had a 3 day 4 round tournament with 34 guys from Michigan, Indiana, Florida and Colorado. The Lakewood Shores accommodated our large group just fine. I was reading reviews on the way up and was concerned but in the end we all had a great time and played some unique golf courses. Yes, the clubhouse and restaurant burned down in May. It was wiped out, I’m a business owner myself and cannot imagine the financial devastation it must have caused the resort. I’m guessing this could contribute to some of the conditions on the course. The Blackshire course was a secluded, natural layout. Some of the greens did have some issues but with the location of this course it could have been many reasons. We saw a lot of wild life that could be feasting on the green. The tee boxes were a little beat up but I think the issue with that is the two back tee boxes were too long so the next two get used all the time. Gaines was an absolute links gem! Everyone loved it. Challenging and beautiful. The Serradella was another great course. Our room was very simple but clean and did not smell at all. Restaurants are within 10 minutes. Staff was kind and organized. They even let us have our own shot gun start for our final round. The clubhouse will be rebuilt and I think this will be a great destination in the future. With our package deal bought at an expo we each spent under $350.00 for 4 rounds and two nights. We take golf trips to Scottsdale and that would be close to $800 for golf and probably another $400 for hotel so for that price I was very pleased with the golfing, we didn’t go there to sit in the clubhouse all day.
Dennis F — Google review
If you’re a golf snob or some high maintenance entitled person you’re going to hate this place. If you’re the type of person that’s looking for a fun weekend with your friends with very reasonable priced golf/accommodations, you’re going to love this place. Yes, some spots on the course are in rough shape, but overall the course is fun and challenging to play. The staff is absolutely incredible while working out of a tent. The clubhouse burned down and they are doing a great job working with what they got. The rooms were clean for the most part and could use some updates, but you’re not on a golf trip to relax in the room. You’re there to golf. I’m positive within 2 years this place will be back at its glory days.
James M — Google review
Just know that you pay for what you get. We knew this going into the trip and our expectations were tampered ahead of time. The courses need some TLC to be brought back to life. It was definitely in rough shape in places. Some stretches of the courses really showed what the resort could be/was in its glory days. The rooms were old and straight out of the decade they were built in. But for the price it was totally satisfactory. Definitely not a high end resort though. Keep expectations in check and you'll enjoy your time here.
Cole B — Google review
Would definitely NOT recommend. We made reservations 2 weeks after the fire that demolished the restaurant and clubhouse. They didn't share anything about the fire or update their website so we weren't informed. The course is NOT maintained. The rooms smell of strong deodarizer and are just average. There are only dirty port-a-potties at the tent clubhouse, without disinfectant. The attitude of the staff is unfriendly and unapologetic of the poor state of affairs. While understanding they are going through difficult times, their attitude isn't focused on getting repeat customers.
Karen M — Google review
Played Blackshire Sunday 8-10. There was no water to be had, anywhere. It could not be purchased in the tent that served as a clubhouse. They did not have any and apparently they could not send anyone out to get any. Yet they don't want you to bring in coolers. It was 90 degrees and we could not get any water. This is the first golf course in history without water jugs anywhere, The golf course is in bad shape, tee boxes, fairways, and greens were horrible. What would have been nice is if they told us to play one of their other courses ( which were in better shape).
David M — Google review
You get what you pay for. This place is the cheapest golf trip you could ever find. Accommodations were really gross (bugs in rooms), no services, courses are in poor shape and they attempt to make up for entry price by overcharging for beers and food (when they are there)…..oh and they double booked saturday so we got pushed back and weren’t even able to finish round. if you are unemployed but want to still squeeze in a golf trip with you pals, this is the place for you. Everyone else avoid! I have to go, deciding if i should wash everything twice or just burn all my clothes….
David P — Google review
We played the Saradella and Gailles courses and spent the night in a double room, both courses were nice layouts, the Gailles was in great shape and the Saradella was in good shape, it had a few greens that needed work. It was a great trip, well worth the money. The staff was all very pleasant and helpful, we did have a minor issue with our tee time for the first day, they emailed that our tee time was 10am and when we got there they said it was 1pm, but got us off right away but then our room wasn’t ready until 4pm, so we had to find things to do in town.
Ray H — Google review
The rooms were adequate at best. Had to ask for more plates, cups and pans for the kitchen area. The Blackshire course was a big waste of time and money. Crappy tees, fairways and greens. No cold/cool water anywhere on the course or even in the starters shack. The carts were old and dirty. Serradella was fairly well kept but again, no cold/cool water available. DO NOT go near the “comfort station” at 15 tee. Unless you have a hazmat suit. The Gailies was the better kept of the courses on site but the did have the sprinklers on as we tried to play through at 10am Tuesday morning. I would recommend you consider going elsewhere.

Great people. Clean canoes & kayaks. Owner and crew are very nice. Great river trip. Very relaxing
Frog F — Google review
We had a great time kayaking! We had a pretty large group so we made reservations before hand. You will go the rental place and they drop you off at the kayaks and canoes at the river- just make sure that you sign up for the right location! We signed up for the 12 mile and thought we were doing the 6 mile...but we were able to call and have them pick us and the kayaks up at the halfway point (where they would have dropped us off to do the 6 mile). Also be mindful if there are any races the day you go- we didn't realize there was a canoe race happening and ended up being an added obstacle for the racers. I think the correct procedure is to stay to the right and they go around you? But some of racers were not very happy to see us...lol. Great experience for the price and all staff was kind and helpful- I just wish they would have told us about the race so we knew beforehand...10/10 will go again if I'm back in town!

It's a peaceful and exhilarating place, perfect for enjoying nature's beauty.

The Huron-Manistee National Forests Lumberman's Monument Visitor Center is a tribute to Michigan's early logging industry. The center features exhibits and videos on logging history, as well as riverside hiking trails and wildflower viewing in the spring. The 14-foot bronze statue at the monument depicts three figures representing different aspects of the logging industry.
My wife and I visit usually once a year if not more. The view is beautiful and worth the trip alone. We love history and seeing the historic displays is really fun. There is even a log pile the is meant to be climbed on. There are a ton of stair. So, be ready for that. There are a lot of things to see that don't require the stairs if you aren't able. We usually stop down the road at Iargo Springs. There are so many stairs. I'm not exaggerating, Iargo Springs will give you a work out. I think there are more than at Lumberman's Monument. There are rest spots with benches, though. Thankfully, it's not just one long stretch. I highly recommend both, they have been favorites for us for many years.

A great bit of history! Lots of information and great views. The stairs down to the river number 242, so be ready to get your steps in. Kids loved climbing on the log jam structure there! They played on it for ober an hour and wanted to stay longer! Soft rubber bits at the bottom but stil need lots of parental overwatch! I even joined in and played on it a bit with them! There are lots of trail heads along the way to and from the monument! Beautiful sand dunes near by and wild flowers! Bathrooms and gift shop on the premises as well.
Luke G — Google review
I go here every year and it's always a blast to go down the sand dune. Great for pictures, a walk in the woods, or even to learn about the history. Be prepared to do some exercise though if you plan on going down the stairs or dune. Absolutely amazing and unrated place for photography. Just go, you won't regret it.
Christian H — Google review
Always a beautiful moment of peace when visiting here. If you’re able to I say go for it and hike the dune! You’re able to get a good workout while site seeing while getting history lessons throughout the park. Learning about the fire that took place is always eye opening no many how many times I read about it or see the leftover damage. There are stairs that take you directly to the water so pace yourself coming back up it can get tough lol. 1 of my frequent places to make day trips to and it’s Near Tawas city as well so when you’re done with your adventure you can stop into town and grab some food while taking in the visuals of Lake Huron.

Fine dining restaurant
Tait's Bill of Fare is a charming restaurant located along the picturesque River Road Scenic Byway, offering a delightful dining experience. The menu features a variety of dishes, including a rib sampler and perch entree, accompanied by flavorful cocktails and wine selections. Guests can enjoy a full meal that includes bread, soup, salad, and sides with their entrees. The restaurant exudes a cozy atmosphere with attentive staff members providing excellent service.
My family and I love Tait's Bill of Fare. This summer we have gone many times and everything is delicious because it is real healthy tasty food. We have ordered the shrimp, the ribs, the prime rib, the salmon salad, the chicken, the perch it is all wonderful. My brother said it best...."it doesn't matter what you get it will be wonderful." We are going again tonight and it is a nice atmosphere and the timing of the courses is thoughtful. The drinks are good and not watered down. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. No, I do not know Bill or anyone who works here. My mom lives in Oscoda in the summer and we have been coming up for years but really didn't go out to restaurants all that much but have found our one...our home...and good food where we can take our time and connect with each other and enjoy good food. Give it a shot and enjoy hometown goodness without being rushed.

The key lime cheesecake they were serving at the time was to die for! It was so good! I had the small portion salmon dinner and it was the perfect portion for me. The breaded salmon was cooked to perfection. I had room for dessert. LoL Tait’s is located right in town, making the location quite convenient. There’s plenty of parking available. The server was friendly and knew the menu very well. The owner came out and greeted all the guests at each table. We called dibs on the last piece of chocolate mint cheesecake and the owner set the cake aside for us until we were ready for dessert. This is a restaurant I would definitely visit again and recommend to friends.
MJ H — Google review
Great food, great service. The owner himself stopped by our table a few times to check on things.
Chris L — Google review
My daughter and I decided to try this restaurant during the week. The owner seated us and checked on tables shortly after we were seated. The young man who brought the water and bread was very nice and attentive. That's about the only good things I can say. None of the waiters approached our table. They stood across the room, looked and pointed like they were discussing who should wait on the table. We watched people who came in after us have one of the waiters go to their tables. After almost 25 minutes of seeing the wait staff look at our table (a few times), talk to each other, then turn away, we decided to leave. It was actually my daughter's (who has worked as a waitress and has tons of patience and grace for those in the restaurant industry) decision to leave. At that point, she said that she wouldn't be able to not show her irritation if we stayed.
Kathy A — Google review
Our favorite place! Always fresh and delicious food, and fantastic service. Reasonably priced for the high quality meal and experience with many special touches. Soo many gluten free options including a dedicated gf fryer! Best ribs ever! Very family friendly too. We love the speakeasies, live music, new brunch specials, and other fun events as well.

Stopped in on the recommendation of a few family members. Got seated right away on a Saturday evening and our waitress was absolutely amazing. She knew all about the menu and gave us excellent suggestions! The 4 people in our party ordered the COD, Steak, Chicken, & Ribs. Everyone's meal was entirely homemade and so delicious that we all ended up sharing. We also ordered dessert, you have to try the lemon & blueberry cheesecake as it is simply incredible. The owner stopped by our table to check on us twice. He really cares that you have a great meal and even cracks a few jokes. So all in all....... 10/10 will vist again! Thank you to the owner and staff for a very memorable meal!!

Park
Old Orchard Park in Oscoda is a vast campground nestled within the Huron-Manistee National Forest, offering stunning views of Foote Pond on the AuSable River. Spanning almost four miles, this park features a man-made lake where visitors can partake in fishing and water activities. The campground also boasts nature trails, playgrounds, and ample wilderness views.
My family and I stayed here over memorial Day weekend. It was amazing loved the campground, the staff was absolutely fantastic. There was so much going on. And I really loved the homie, family feeling it gave. I was comfortable with my son riding his bike around the block. And I love that they sold ice cream it's such a super convenient treat to be able to provide my son with. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

Large campground for rv's, and tents. The also have yurts and cabins to rent. The lots are spacious our lot was mostly dirt with a small patch of grass. We just started a campfire anywhere because there wasn't a marked area for a camp fire. There wasn't a rim, rocks or a dug pit for the camp fire. It looked like people were just making a campfire wherever they wanted, because there were piles of ashes all over which was messy. The kids and dogs made a mess with the random ash piles. They have a nice little store and they sell most things you might need camping. The store has Hudsonville ice cream, the also sell firewood. They have activities on some days. They also rent pontoon, jet skis, bikes and other things. Many sites have a view of the water. Paved roads are nice, beach was small but nice.

While this is one of our favorite campgrounds I feel I still need to make a few comments about my recent stay. I couldn’t hook my water up because there was already 10 hoses hooked into one tap when addressed issue with campground they said just figure it out. Not having water means we had to use the bathrooms in the park instead of our camper 🤮 we stayed 4 days no matter what time of day or night we went to the bathroom or shower they were absolutely disgusting feminine hygiene products laying all over floor, hair clinging all over walls, one shower had zero hot water at all. It was disappointing to see especially since you have to pay for the showers I at least want something that I feel clean coming out of instead of dirtier. I hope this review brings cleaning bathrooms to top priority I understand the campground is big and it’s hard to keep up but even after they were just cleaned they weren’t actually clean at all

After primitive camping I booked a week at Old Orchard,if you like a more busy louder campground it's right up your alley,I did have a good experience and met some new friends but I prefer more sanctuary

Not a bad place for what it is. Nice beach, showers, store and friendly staff. But if you want a nice quiet spot, away from people ....then this is NOT the place for you. Spots are closer than apartments and not enjoyable for the introvert type.

Camped here for the first time. Not impressed. Camp store was pretty much empty. Campground was kind of a dump. Noisy, nonstop traffic day and night. Not enough amenities, “ lake front site “ but couldn’t see the lake because everything was so over grown. Definitely won’t be back.

My dad went there as a kid and I first went when I was 13 I loved it since I'm going October 3rd very good place the yurts are are peaceful and yurt a b and c are more Away from people its in,the back the only problem I have is the last time I was there there was poison ivy all over the place and DNR hasn't picked it up raccoons are horrible to deal with sometime it doesn't bug me I love wildlife if you guys are new to the camping world or trying to find a new campground old orchard it the way to go

I don’t know what campground some of these people are commenting on but it’s definitely not this one. This place is a trashy trailer park complete with the drunk middle aged parties that last until 2am. Park management and security is a joke. Multiple visits to the office and a dozen calls to the after hours security went unaddressed. There were multiple campsites partying with blaring music until 2am and were never told to quiet down. One campsite was still doing karaoke past midnight. We couldn’t even have a conversation outside because the music was so loud it sounded like we were at a concert. I have small children and this campground is far from family friendly. We’ve been camping my entire life and this is by far the worst atmosphere I’ve ever camped in and the lack of control the management has makes the experience even worse.

The Wurtsmith Air Museum is a fascinating place for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs. The museum features a collection of well-preserved old planes in a couple of hangars, along with an impressive array of war memorabilia and photos. Visitors can engage with knowledgeable volunteers who are passionate about preserving the history of the now-closed Air Force base in Michigan. Guided tours by former base personnel offer unique insights into the site's rich heritage.
First time visiting here since moving up state in April of 2023. We saw the flyer for the pancake breakfast and thought it'd be a good time to find out more about it. We didn't visit the museum where the gift shop was (we ran out of time), but we did look around where they served the breakfast, and it was a great experience. I'd love to go back and see the rest!

Hadn't been before but the museum was laid out well and easy to review all the amazing items that have been donated over the years. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly as well. Would recommend for families as well.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this terrific museum. I can’t remember the last collection I saw that was so impressively curated. It’s obviously assembled by donations and run by people who genuinely care about preserving the history and story behind this local Michigan air base. For sure the favorite memory will be the guided tour given by Mr. Gray Taylor, who was stationed on the base back in 1964. An experience like this is made so much more meaningful when someone who was there offers their perspective and personal account. We made sure to pick up several enamel pins and patches to support the efforts of this nonprofit. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

There is so much and information. I loved seeing all of the model planes as well as the life sized ones. We had a wonderful time!

A huge amount of history in a smallish area. So many photos and other various war memorabilia. If you're someone who wants to read each detail, you'll need a few hours. The museum is run by volunteers and they're full of information as well. Highly recommend a stop.

A great place to learn about past events and how important the armed forces are to our protection. My great grandson was amazed and said he wants to visit again. There is so much to see. He even got to sit in a plane.

Made a fuel stop on the way to Oshkosh Airventure 2025. Huge runway and airport. Reasonable fuel price and friendly FBO. It went well. We found out the museum is only open a few days a week. It was closed when we visited, so make sure you check the schedules before going.

Mancino's Pit Stop is a casual chain known for its delicious pizzas and sandwiches made with freshly baked rolls. While some customers have experienced issues with the service, others praise the restaurant for offering the best prices in town for quality pizza. The staff is described as friendly and patient even during busy times. Customers recommend trying their flavorful mushroom swiss burger and generously tipping the hardworking team.
Didn't see any other photos of their pizza in the reviews, so figured I would add some. Slightly apprehensive about our order for that reason, but our group was all very happy with it. Delicious!

Tucked inside/next to the ARCO convenience store - behind the pumps - is Mancino's. You will NOT see the sign from the road, it's 55 mph, after all. Clean, open, well laid-out. All tables are low-tops seating 3 - 10. The young woman behind the counter was very polite and good-natured, too. Seems the kitchen is in need of better ventilation & cooling. A box fan blowing into the back is working to make it more tolerable but provides most of the noise inside. It's not loud, but nearby conversations might have to elevate A big selection of sandwiches, grinders, pizza & pasta plus salads, and a kid's menu. After reading the description and asking a few questions, I had to try the Cuban panini. One of the best Cubans I've had since departing the Tampa area. I'd definitely have it again.

Omg, what a treat!!! Not like your typical Mancinos, all the meats are smoked fresh and the menu is totally different. Ordered the beef brisket grinder and was amazed. Freshly smoked in house and super tender. Piled high on their Freshly baked bread, then smothered in a special melty cheese blend and BBQ sauce. Simple yet elegant!! Tried the baby back ribs as well. Flavor was great, not over salty and had a decent bite to them but not fall off the bone tender. Smoke flavor was on point. Keep up the great work!!!!!!! Will be back soon .. Thanks

The fries were thick and made how I liked them. ...they got here early. 5 stars ... I cant wait to try their lumber jack grinder. Its 18 dollars for the large but I bet it's worth it.... Until we meet again ..lol

Just Stopped here. It was closed and looked kind of closed closed. There were still signs on the window. Supposed to be open according to Google Stopped here for a grinder to eat at the beach. Also someone in our party wanted a pizza. I had the Italian grinder before. So I i tried the BLT. It was a little to bready. Only complaint. We ordered take out. Our sat on the counter longer then necessary. When someone mentioned that it was ready. The lady acknowledge them proceeded to clear a table and clean it first. A little rude.

Desi's Taco Lounge is a hidden gem that offers a wide variety of delicious Mexican food. Located about 4 miles from Oscoda, it's well worth the drive to experience the fantastic flavors and friendly atmosphere. The place is highly recommended by locals and has become a favorite spot for both visitors and regulars. Despite some past negative reviews, the new owners have turned this place into a great hole-in-the-wall bar and grill with an extensive menu.
Great hole in the wall kind of place that serves really good food in a nice atmosphere! Awesome place for dinner!

Stopped in after several recommendations from family members and a great video via UTR Michigan on YouTube. A guy with the best mustache! I got the crispy tacos which were amazing. We also had the potato cups which were surprisingly good. We weren't sure about them just from the menu description BUT they were top notch! Mozzarella sticks were great. I wish we had room for dessert but they give you so much food! Service was so friendly and attentive. I think a small surge in guests the day after Xmas took them off guard but everyone could not have been friendlier! My father in-law used to service this place in the 70s and my wife was there with her family about 30 yrs ago as a kid. Very neat history through all the owners and they have the best Xmas decorations!

Visited this place twice, 1st time I loved it so much I drove today over an hour to have a meal today. 1st, I waited 10 minutes to be seated because the sign said to, only to learn they hadn't moved it and I could sit any table. Then I order enough food to be able to carry out, 3 Enchiladas and Chili Rellenos. What's brought to my table is a single enchilada with CHILI ON IT! Im then told they don't have chili Rellenos (even though it's on menu) . I basically was then served a single enchilada, nothing else. No rice, beans, Nada. What a joke. Great decoration in dining room is NOT enough for me to return again.

We visited on October 11, 2025 at 3:20pm. We had a server who was very kind. However, my party of 3 (visiting from out of town) could tell they were short-staffed. We tried to extend a lot of grace because we had heard that they were under new ownership. The table next to us had dirty dishes on it for nearly our entire time there, and it took quite a while for other tables to be cleared as well. That was a little off putting. It took a while for our waitress to take our drink orders and refills were slow. Again, she was kind, but they could have used at least 2 more servers. I had the Deluxe Nachos (mini size) and they were okay, but not anything super special or anything to write home about. One of my friends ordered the Mexican Potato Cups and there were no black olives on them like the menu said. When she asked the waitress about it, she said it doesn't come with olives, but she would bring a side of olives. We looked up the menu online and it does say it comes with olives. Also, the menu says "seasoned beef", but the beef had very little flavor and didn't taste seasoned at all. The side of guacamole came in the tiniest container that was half full and we were charged around $3.00 for it. Literally, was about 2 bites worth. The water also tasted funny. We were underwhelmed. We hope they're able to figure out their staffing situation because it has potential. The menu is HUGE! perhaps cutting down on the options would help the kitchen staff a little.

A long time ago Desi’s was known for their Mexican food. Probably more so than the other meals offered but everything my family and I ever had was very good. The owner, Desi, was of Mexican descent . On Sunday evening Desi’s was busy but had several open tables. Service was slow due to not enough waitstaff. The waitress we had was not efficient in that she would walk by several times and not ask if we needed anything, which we did, and had to interrupt her for service. The biggest let down was the food, we had tacos and a burrito dinner. All was lukewarm at best. Also, my experience at the old Desi’s or at any restaurant that serves Mexican food, they would supply salsa for tacos, burritos, or most any other Mexican dish and none was provided. We hadn’t been there in years because Desi’s son took over after his father passed and the food quality had gone way down. We knew the restaurant had been sold a couple of years ago and decided to try it again hoping the food quality had improved. Sorry to say, it has not. Miss Desi himself, a lot.

This place is freggin’ awesome! Best Mexican food in the area but I haven’t tried many because Mexican food joints are scarce and expensive. But my friend assured me this was the place for it. I got scared again when I found out the young white waitress didn’t know what a Michelada (beer and tomato clam sauce. I know it sounds gross! It isn’t.). So I ordered the fish sandwich as we are near many many many lakes and that felt safe. My buddy ordered nachos to share and the Mexican me forgot English for a bit. Anyways Desi’s reminded me of my favorite restaurant as a child combined with my favorite dive bar as an adult. Please visit!
Alysse S — Google review
Nice dinner out with friends. Food was not authentic Mexican and fish dinner seemed to be that from frozen food. My dinner had liquid cheese poured over everything except the hard taco, which wasn’t listed on the dinner I chose. The taco shell seemed to be stale not crunchy. The drinks were delightful and the decor was really kool!

Iargo Springs, situated along the River Road Scenic Byway, holds cultural significance for Native Americans and offers a stunning panoramic view of the AuSable River Valley from its 30-foot observation deck. Descend 294 steps to explore the mystical convergence of underground springs forming cold water streams. Stroll along the elevated boardwalk to immerse yourself in tranquility. The area is part of Oscoda's hidden gems, with breathtaking views of the river and surrounding forests along River Road.
Such a beautiful location and experience, the sound of the spring waters flowing is so peaceful. This is one place in Michigan you must visit and experience. I also love the boardwalk as well while you walk down the hill. If I could give this rating more than 5 stars I would do so.

Been coming to the largo springs for a few years, and it’s always a good time! The stairs are not as bad as some may think, obviously to each their own, but we’ve seen many complete the up and down. There are benches / stopping areas along the way up / down of the spring’s stairs. I think it’s 300 steps. Parking is good, never been there whilst overcrowded. Plus outhouses are stationed there as well. Nonetheless, do your own pace, and enjoy the beautiful views.

Iargo Springs is a true hidden gem and a must-see for anyone visiting the Au Sable River area. This place is pure magic. As you descend the long staircase, the sounds of the rushing springs and the cool, damp air immediately transport you to another world. The wooden boardwalks and bridges are so well-maintained, weaving you through lush ferns and over the bubbling, crystal-clear water. It's a breathtaking reward at the bottom—the springs themselves are mesmerizing, and the view out over the Au Sable River is absolutely stunning. Yes, the climb back up is a workout (those 300+ steps are no joke!), but there are benches along the way to rest and soak in the peaceful surroundings. Iargo Springs feels like a sacred, ancient place, and you can understand why it's so special to so many people. We spent a good hour exploring and just enjoying the tranquility. It's a perfect combination of a physical challenge and a spiritual retreat. Worth every step!

Very peaceful This is a great way to get a workout in and be in nature. The sign says it will take 300 steps to see the waterfall. Don't expect much of a waterfall or you could be thinking "I climbed 300 steps for this". Make it about the journey and not the destination. It is very peaceful from all the over looks, you can spend some time looking over the wetlands. There is a bathroom hole at the top, but nothing on the way down.
K R — Google review

Riverbank Park is a delightful destination that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and outdoor activities. Start your day with an early morning stroll along the serene paths, where the soothing sounds of nature accompany you as you take in stunning views of the AuSable River. In summer, keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife such as deer and various bird species, adding to the park's charm. When winter blankets the area in snow, the park transforms into a magical wonderland that's ideal for peaceful walks.
Nice place to enjoy the Ausable River. Has a canoe launch and walking trails. Nice place to fish and enjoy the outdoors.

This is a good place for putting in a canoe, but the shoreline is eroded, probably from high water so you may have to step into the water to launch safely. It has good vault toilets. You are about 45 minute canoe trip to the AuSable river outlet into lake Huron. It's a good there-and-back canoe trip.

Very disappointing. We ordered a medium soft serve chocolate malt. First, it cost 6.00 plus .50 for malt. My husband asked for them to put in enough malt so he could taste it, so they charged him another .50 so now, it cost 7.00, plus 1.00 tip, so a total of 8.00. It was very, very, small for a medium. If the girl hadn’t said it was a medium, I definitely would have thought it was a small. The malt was terrible. It tasted like chocolate milk. It was hardly thick at all. We each took a drink of it and neither one of us wanted any more of it. I was so glad we only got one because we poured it out. I hate to give bad reviews but for $8.00, I expected so much more. Sorry. We won’t be going back.

The Lake Theatre in Oscoda is a charming, old-fashioned movie house that has been entertaining visitors since 1952. It offers top-class family entertainment and a delicate mix of movie displays and 50s nostalgia. The theater has been remodeled and features comfortable seating, good popcorn, and themed decorations for different movies. Visitors can enjoy a wonderful small-town theater atmosphere with great picture quality and sound.
This theatre was an amazing place to catch a movie while we were staying in town. We prefer the smaller hometown theatres and Lake Theatre did not disappoint! Very clean! The snack options were plentiful and very reasonably priced, the seats were comfortable and there was even a charger port near some of the seats. My teens saw a 2:00 matine and thoroughly enjoyed their selves, we were greeted by the sweetest dog apon entry and the owners were super nice! Don't miss this experience!

Lake Theatre (Oscoda) is an old-fashioned movie theater that's been around for 50+ years. Talk about good customer service: Before the movie started, I mentioned to the couple working the lobby (Terry & Don) that it would be helpful to have a hook on the women's bathroom stall door to hang my purse on. When I went into the bathroom after the movie, Don had already installed a hook on the door. Wow! The new owner (Teresa) is replacing some of the seats with new ones. With tickets at $6/adults, you can afford to buy refreshments.

We love bringing our family here when we’re in town. Kids love the quaintness and parents love the nostalgia and the prices. Love supporting local, small businesses.:

Very nice kids go here. It's like the culture here is the kids are good. I moved here from west side of Michigan. The kids in the theater are running all over. Yelling. Bothering people. Big difference in kids behaviors in the western part of Michigan. Oscoda was an eye opener

Went on date night with my gf. I'm from down state so not familiar with the area. The price for bowling and shoes was very affordable. Environment was cool. We had a great time

Bowling was a lot of fun, felt really bad for the 2 guys trying to run the whole place by themselves they were doing their best to try and keep up but only 1 knew how to make drinks or fix the lanes when stuff happened so therfore the tables were all dirty the dishes were piled down the bar and it took forever to get a drink or food. I was impressed with how hard the 2 guys were trying to keep up but this place needs more staff.

its ok for a bowling alley in a small town.

Its not a bad place but who ever hires staff does a very poor job. Only 1 employee when we last went poor girl was stuck running bar, making food, and fixing lanes. Was stuck there alone till about 4 hrs from close. She deserves a giant raise. She did great despite having to do it all alone.

Great jalapeño poppers! Sometimes lanes don't work, but they are pretty quick about getting it fixed. Karaoke on Saturdays super scary, but also super fun with a friend. Arcade was average.😁

I ate here with my family and was definitely impressed by this place! We ordered a pepperoni pizza, fish and chips, jalapeno poppers, coconut shrimp, chili cheese fries, French onion soup, and long islands to top it off. I'll be honest I wasn't expecting much off first impressions, but the vibe was great. Staff was friendly and the food all tasted like it was made from scratch!

The food here was good for the price you pay. The service was outstanding. We had the sweet potatoe fries which were your normal tasting fries. I had the cowboy burger with bbq sauce added, which was good. The drinks were not as good. I had a margarita but it tasted watered down.

We are in town for a few days and decided to give this place a try. Laura was our waitress and she was so down to Earth, friendly and helped my daughter who is a picky eater decide on what salad to have. All of our meals were great, friendly atmosphere and Laura was simply the best!!! By the 3rd day, the staff new my daughter by her order (she loved it lol)

We have been coming to The Office L & G for years, appreciating the food and service. However more recently it's been a disappointment, even more so today, prompting this review. After placing our order (beef nachos), it took over a 1/2 hour for delivery, even though they weren't busy. We had requested shredded cheese, versus cheese sauce, which our waitress had stated could be a substitution. The nacho arrived at room temperature with cold shredded cheese on top. After a few bites of frustration, I requested if my nacho could be heated. Another 8 minute wait for this, along with a bowl of lettuce, seeing they had forgotten to put any lettuce on the nacho. No apologies were made. We felt that we were inconveniencing our waitress by any of these requests made and left feeling disappointed, deciding to stay away.

Hole in the wall bar, which are some of my favorite places. Unfortunately the bartenders and waitress looked like they just rolled out of bed. They wear sweatpants and tee shirts 4 sizes too big. very little socializing, definitely did not make us feel welcomed. My wife and I decided to have 1 drink and leave. The place has potential, if the owner wants it to.

We ordered a carry out, that was to be ready in 25-30 min. We got there about 40 min. after ordering and had to wait another 20 minutes to get food. The food was good, servers were very nice while we waited. There was a Kentucky Derby party going on at the time so everyone was in a festive mood - patrons and staff.

Solid three here. Each year we find ourselves stopping here for the bakery and some breakfast. The bakery always delivers some good treats. From the cherry turnovers to the cheese danish. You will enjoy the smells and the treats. Onto the restaurant. Here's where things turn. Emphasis on speed and attentiveness is NOT a thing here. I know going in we will be a while. But this time or trip over two visits. Just were noticeably off key. Waiting for drinks once seated. Waiting to give orders. Waiting to get food. Waiting to be checked on. Waiting for the bill. It's just gotten to long. Breakfast food is not hard and pretty quick to get out the kitchen. However. There's always a bottleneck issue here. Simple skillets are just alright. The special dough god toast is just alright anymore. Bagel sandwiches have gotten a bit pricey. If it's worker related. Then make changes. If it is management related. Then again make changes. But honestly. Food is three star. Service and speediness is less by far. We will be camping again at the end of the month near by. But will be exploring other dining options for our morning commutes. Gotta work on speed from the time people sit down to getting them out the door. No one wants an hour and a half breakfast endeavor.

I am from Europe and expect bread to be always superb. The Bavarian Bakery sign caught my attention - so ... Finally after some days I had chance to come into the bakery. The bakery hours made a visit difficult. The hard working guys here only work only till 2pm !? Really? Europe would be laughing at the hours of operation. (With this timing and going from there profit only way to go out of business). So about superb fresh tasty bread: nothing even close - it was dry, absent taste and it went right to the trash. Desserts? Guys, go to Bavaria or any Europe bakery and try their products! - nothing in common. I taste only sugar, sugar and only sugar here, pity, sad. RIP.

More lousy service in Oscoda, stood at the "Please wait to be Seated" sign for about 10 minutes before I was acknowledged by the hostess, from across the room she, as she continued walking said I'll be with you in a couple of minutes, as two large groups of people turned around and left. Five minutes later I was seated. The hostess asked for my drink order and quickly brought me a half glass of tepid tap water with no ice. Before she ran off I asked for an omelet and she replied you have to wait for the waitstaff. So another 10 minutes later the waitress stops and takes my order. Another 10 minutes another staff slaps my omelet on the table and disappears. Waitress slows down one time while I'm eating and asks, in passing, about the food, passes by another five minutes later and backhands the bill on the table while she was taking another order. The older gentleman running the cash register took my bill of $10.07 I gave him $10.12, he hands me 3 cents back, not worth the argument! Oh I added the pepper on the omelet!

I stopped here to get donuts on my way out of town. The restaurant is old and tired. Currently they are only open Thursday through Sunday, so don't expect to get donuts any other day of the week. With that being said, I came here on a Friday and kind of expected that if they're only open 4 days a week, their donuts would be fresh every day. I ended up getting a few glazed twists and some iced donuts, all of which were dry and most likely days old.

Wish I had read the reviews before my friends and I came to this place. Came to oscoda for a getaway, a local said this place was good. But he was WRONG. They were not busy at all. This place from start to finish had HORRIBLE service. Hostess sat us down walked away, came back took our drink order, dropped drinks off and then waited 15 mins before I had to flag somebody down to actually take our order. Did not ask us for any refills were needed. Food came and it was cold. We ordered the skillet witch had Undercooked bacon and hashbrowns (in all meals) Western omelette tasted like a cold hot pocket. Waitress FINNALY came back over and I complained skillet had undercooked items which then the old lady rolled her eyes, didn't say anything and walked away and started to attend to other tables. Place looked old, dirty and gloomy. DO NOT COME HERE. DO NOT EAT THE FOOD. LOOK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Oh crabcheese ragoon perfect 👌 Clean, and friendly staff. Food was take out was nice and hot. Great job to All!! Our new go to. ( we're new to area).

literally the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Absolutely no flavor, all the meat was tough and some things tssted "off". So gross even my kids didn't want to eat it. We didn't finish and I think the frozen Chinese dishes from the grocery would be more palatable. Also cost an arm and a leg. back home we can feed my family of 6 for $40 and here it was $60 and we got less food than the one back home.

Day 4

Lake Huron Pier

Lake Huron Pier is a stunning destination that captures the essence of natural beauty and outdoor fun. With its pristine sandy beaches and refreshing breezes, it's an ideal spot to unwind or enjoy a day out with family and friends. The nearby skate park offers excitement for athletes, while food options are just a short stroll away, making it convenient for visitors looking to grab a bite.
Parking at this location is easy however there is ongoing apartment construction nearby so it is little messy. Pier is well maintained and cleaned. Beach is also pleasant. Restrooms are adequate as well. Overall a decent place to spend few hours.

Lake
Cedar Lake, located near Lake Huron, offers a variety of activities for visitors. The area features pristine beaches along Lake Huron, the Au Sable River, and Van Etten Lake. Visitors can enjoy a quiet afternoon surrounded by nature or take in a stunning sunrise at Huron Sunrise Park. The lake is known for its picturesque views and ample fishing opportunities for bass, perch, and pike. Additionally, the clean water and beautiful surroundings make it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
Beautiful lake!! The view of the sunset ting is absolutely wonderful..and it is so peaceful, quiet...I paddled around in a paddle boat for awhile fishing..my brother caught a good sized bass using a stinky fake worm...i guess the real-estate in the area is pretty costly but worth every penny! The lake is sandy for a good distance out so it's decent swim spot for children. It seemed like a healthy lake.
Angelic T — Google review
Fished on this lake for my 1st time while staying at a rental for a week during summer of 2022. Very pretty lake with nice views & lake is bigger than it looks on a map. Fishing was below average, caught a few small largemouth bass, 1 rock bass, several skinny Northern Pike and 2 decent ones. 90% of lake is 4-5Ft deep & no structure for fishing, bottom is mostly sand with random patchy weed beds. Best area is 8-12ft deep section I found to fish was at the tip of the lake where it’s narrow and has new homes built along shoreline. Think they dredged that area for new construction? That’s the area I caught all of the fish during the trip. Best catches near the shore where deeper water comes in closest to shoreline. And around a small island fishing along outer edges of weed beds. Be careful on main lake if your going fast, boats that draft 3 feet or more will constantly find the bottom crossing length of the main lake. I could see on my fish finder that the bottom looks like a plowed farmers field from boats going back & forth with skegs dragging! If kayaking or cruising in a pontoon is your thing, this is a nice lake for those types of things. Also this lake has a massive population of geese all the time. So I imagine bacteria levels are high due to all the geese and likely end up with swimmers itch if you go wading or swimming. Lots of things to do in surrounding area, I enjoyed myself & it’s a cool place go visit. Shallow lake & below average fishing were the only minor disappointments (for me.) I still enjoyed a great vacation at Cedar Lake. Posted a few pics from trip. Notice depths shown in picture of fish finder screen right in middle of main lake. Pic of a small Largemouth Bass I landed & released. Hooked up to 1 decent size Northern Pike, several smaller ones plus a few Rock Bass I released as well. Hint (fish in back section of lake past the bridge back near the islands. It’s 8-12Ft Deep back there, and weedy. Fish edges of weedbeds, sunken trees/logs, off shore of the small islands & where the water depth is deep but close to the shore. That’s where the fish live I discovered.

Such a cute little beach. The water here is always so warm, compared to Lake Huron. There is a little playground, lots of picnic tables and grills, and even a restroom (though I have not used it since I was a kid and it looks gross). They have a slide and an anchored raft in the water, which they certainly didn't when I was a kid! My son loves it. The beach is clean and pleasant, if small

Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport (KOSC) is a public airport located just outside downtown Oscoda, Michigan. Formerly an Air Force Base until 1993, it now serves as the home to Kalitta Air and features a large 11,800' runway. The airport also houses the Wurtsmith Air Museum and the Robert J. The airfield hosted the SCCA Prosolo autocross event. It is very neat to see all the 747 and light aircraft flying in and out of the airfield. I look forward to a tour of the local airfield museum.

Loved it while we were there. Lake Huron is beautiful and gives your soul peace when you look on it. Just wish there wasn't so many water problems.

This airport has not been an Air Force Base since June 30, 1993. It is now Oscoda Wurtsmith Airport (KOSC) and is open to the public. It is home to Kalitta Air so there are several 747s and other large aircraft on the field using the HUGE 11,800' runway. Flew in for a beach vacation this summer. Tie down rings are set up for larger aircraft (about 30' apart) so make sure to bring long ropes or use ropes from the box outside the entrance to the building. If you're landing on runway 07 land long otherwise you're in for a very long taxi to the GA ramp.

North Country Canoe Rental is a popular choice for outfitting services along the Au Sable River, catering to groups, families, and friends. They offer various watercraft options and excursions with a focus on providing clean and safe experiences. Visitors praise the friendly staff, reasonable prices, and well-maintained kayaks and canoes. The Whirlpool Drop trip is particularly recommended for its scenic route and peaceful atmosphere.
Friendly and helpful staff. Responable prices. Purchased kayaks for 8 and 12 year old and canoe for adults. Kayaks in great shape. Canoe was metal. Plenty of sandy beach spots to pull off to eat, play, swim, and enjoy the company of others. We took the whirl pool trip. With many fun stops, our trip was 5 1/2 hours. Advise to not go on windy day since you are paddling towards the lake at the end and to bring cooler with fluids and food, dont forget beach towels if going for a dip. You won't be disappointed. Great for all ages. Slow and very wide kid friendly river. Great for any beginner.

A few friends and I had an absolutely wonderful time kayaking the Au Sable with North Country! They were kind and courteous and had us set up in no time. The river is gorgeous -- and if you're not paddling, it'll take longer than you think! Make sure you're provisioned appropriately. This is a perfect way to enjoy pure Michigan beauty on the water. The owner helped us get cleaned up and out of the river himself. We'll be back!

Had a great time renting from North Country. We tried to rent from a place up the road but they were booked solid. We were just about to go home when we saw this place on the side of the road. They had a few canoes for us to rent and we had a great time. Would use them again!

Fewer and fewer places like this remain. If you want to see a completely remote wetland ecosystem then this is the place to go

My husband and I visited on a Sunday in September. Warm and sunny. Long rocky road with a lot of overgrowth of brush along the road. There are pull-offs to park at and trails to take for viewing further out. We spotted egrets in trees, in the marsh and flying, and turtles on a log. We will visit again when we have more time to sit and wait and watch and have the camera. These were taken with a cell phone.

Pretty typical marsh land, simply the wrong time of year. Visited mid September, little or no water. Huge flock of Egrets. Lots of turtles, lol. Well maintained gravel road. I'll be back in the spring. No restrooms.
Ben R — Google review
Huge marsh area but unfortunately you can't see most of it unless you climb the berms. I walked the long trail at the beginning that was hard to find because it was all overgrown and saw nothing. For Waterfowl, a better place is the Shiawassee NWR near Saginaw. The views are unrestricted and the Waterfowl is abundent. I did find some nice Wildflowers toward the end of the drive here tho'.
Scott S — Google review
Great area for wildlife! Highlight was seeing an Owl and two Eagles. Just wish the marsh was more visible.
Bob S — Google review
A few miles of dirt and gravel road that bisects the marsh. No facilities. No signage, a few fallen trees partially blocking the road.
Allen S — Google review
Very nice quiet pkace to set and relax. Bike out there often

Wow amazing Wildlife Area to see many wonders. Dont forget to bring a camera and bug spray to enjoy all it has to offer.

Bar
The Ausable Inn Riverview Restaurant and Sports Bar is a highly recommended American restaurant located in Northern Michigan. The establishment offers a variety of dishes, including Deep Fried Ravioli, French Dip, Grouper Sandwich, Green Olive Burger, and Mac & Cheese. Customers can enjoy their meals while taking in the great views of the river from their large outdoor table. The attentive service provided by Noah adds to the enjoyable dining experience.
My extended family planned a Memorial Day weekend trip to Oscoda and was worried about finding a restaurant to accommodate 20+ people. I was able to make a reservation the morning of our planned arrival and was delighted my entire group could even be seated together on a holiday weekend! The service was friendly and efficient on a busy Friday evening (thank you, Michaela and Noah)! Everyone in attendance also loved their food, with the brisket mac and cheese being particularly popular. I'm so happy to have found this awesome restaurant and look forward to returning when I get back to this area again!

I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with the Au Sable Inn. Last night my girlfriend and I were on the river doing a little fishing from the boat when we were starting to get hungry and thought about heading in to go eat when I thought "Lets see if the Au Sable Inn will let us get a to go order and bring it to the break wall so we can pick it up from the boat". After a short call and about a 10 minute wait we were picking up our food on the river! Great experience, extremely convenient, and delicious food! Also, shout out to the server Emily that brought the food out to us, we appreciate you!

The food is great and classic american diner entrees like ribeye steak with mash potatoes, grilled salmon and some pasta choices.

Came for dinner twice, during a golf weekend. The perch dinner & prime rib sandwich was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Food is excellent. Went here a few times for dinner! Parmesan encrusted Walleye was delicious and so was the Lemon Chicken. Lobster dip is phenomenal. Serving sizes are huge! Great drinks too!

My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was busy (Friday nights are always like this in the summer :) so we chose to sit at the bar. Kim and Chris took care of us and they were fantastic! Our food was wonderful and everything came out quickly. This is one of our favorite local restaurants.

Love this restaurant. The fish and chips are a family favorite. I love the historical canoe decor and the outside seating.

McDonald's, the iconic fast-food chain that has stood the test of time, is a go-to spot for delicious burgers and crispy fries. With its user-friendly app, ordering your favorite meal has never been easier or quicker! You can customize your order to perfection and pick it up at the counter—ideal for those busy mornings.
McDonald's is the fastest fast food restaurant in town! I order on the app and my food's always customized as in the app and ready for me at the counter when I walk in for my morning breakfast! They have amazing deals on the McDonald's App and 100 rewards points for every $1 you spend. You can also get a free rewards item on your birthday too with no extra charge! Thanks McDonald's, I'll be back again soon! 😄🍔🍟

Just came by and got food, was exhausted from wife giving birth the last two days and I could tell the manager was a little stressed (understandable) but he didn't let it affect his customer service and I can tell he takes running his shifts seriously. Past guest service department manager here and if I worked at McDonald's still, I would appreciate his work ethic and attitude as peer. Thank you!
Nathan J — Google review
Went there. They were supposed to replace and order. Got there they act like they knew nothing about it. Had onions on it. I'm allergic, very rude. It's very dirty. I would not recommend! why I was waiting, they messed up 2 people's food 2 times horrible.
Michael S — Google review
I ordered through the app to avoid any possible drive thru lines, but more than once I haven't received my food until the drive thru was empty! Last time I waited for 35 minutes without realizing it because I received a phone call while waiting. When I looked at the time after I hung up I couldn't believe it! I went inside to see what happened to my order and the person stated we are busy! I said ok then please give me a refund so they went to get someone but instead of someone coming to give me a refund they came back with my food??! I should have stayed and checked my order because obviously it would be cold but I didn't feel like waiting even longer. This has happened more than once so it seems like standard practice at this location 😡
Steeler G — Google review
They should really change the curbside pick up wait time from 2-5 mins to 10-30 mins of waiting. The fact this McDonald's in Oscoda takes way longer the the McDonald's in Tawas.
Jessie K — Google review
There was no quality control in the food I recieved, it was poorly prepared and looked like the condiments were just thrown on the burger. The sauce was barely present as you can see by the photos. When the night manager was approached and seen my complaint, he just refunded the sandwich, said sorry as he walked away to get my refund. I had to get his attention to even look me in the eye. No concern on his face at all. Unsatisfactory, I used to enjoy McDonald's, and now I don't think I'll be returning unless changes are made by both management as well as crew. The only true and believable apology I received was from the young man who took my order. Kudos to him.
Edward P — Google review
Served wrong size drinks, when I brought it up she corrected me and said I ordered a smaller size. Then looked at monitors and said sorry. Fries where cold. I won't go back.

They are very rude and messed up my order and wouldn’t make it right. Would not recommend this McDonald’s

Whether you're in the mood for a quick takeout or prefer to enjoy your meal outdoors, Burger King offers options to suit your dining style. Many patrons have shared their experiences of enjoying delicious meals like the Bacon King while appreciating the friendly service from staff members who create a welcoming atmosphere.
We passed you on our way in town, but we turned back around when McDonald's lobby was closed. No regrets stopping in because everyone working was kind and in a good mood. Sometimes you just want to sit at a table to eat vs your car. You know. Our food was hot and scrumptious. We swapped out a pop for the coffee that came with our meal. My daughter ordered an orange juice with her food. No complaints here all good things to say about this stop.

The lady at the speaker continued to cut me off at the speaker, THEN we got held on our order. Waited in the parking lot for 10mins for our order, told the same girl that we didn’t have any straws when she brought our food out, she went back inside to get us some and had an attitude when I asked for straws that she didn’t hand me at the window. She stood inside the doorway talking to a man for a few mins until I finally got annoyed and went inside and got my straws. The real kicker is when I got to work to eat my food before going inside, one of her nice hairs were covering my fries for me. Definitely is not mine, I have a buzzcut and blonde hair. Would NOT reccomend go to McDonald’s. Horrible service terrible food
Shelby — Google review
Every time I come here it’s a 10+ minute wait. And they make you pull around to the front where there is no designated parking for those waiting so then I wait and the confused employee comes out checking every car in the parking lot before they find the right one. I’m just saying if I was first in line in the drive thru then I should get my food first. Quick making fast food an inconvenience by trying to make your times look better for corporate.
Pyro D — Google review
If you want to eat somewhere that looks like you stepped into a back alley this is the place to go. When you step into this place you can immediately see food all over the floor, tables dirty and sticky. You stand there waiting to order the employees just looking at you never asking what you would like. I waited for over 10 minutes and finally walked out the doors. This was my 3rd time giving this place a shot thinking maybe it was just a bad day last time I will give them another shot. The service and experience is the same every time.
Travis M — Google review
20 minutes for 4 whoppers and fries. Employees ingnored indoor patrons for drive through having a good time talking about nonsense. 6 people came in and left as I waited for order. Nobody came to counter to help. Too busy talking about the weekend. Never going back. Need to drug test!
Mo P — Google review
You are best off ordering on the app, they seem understaffed and the wait at the counter was so long we left. If you order on the app the food s ready quickly But the drive thru can be super slow.
Merry L — Google review
First of all, the manager Maddie took my order was very rude. Then she proceeds to walk away from the counter to yell at 2 people in the kitchen. Food was really good after it came out.
Alicia D — Google review
I had the brisket whopper meal. I wouldn't order it again. Not that it was bad, more that it isn't good either. Computer system went down, I had to help them figure out what was my food order.
