The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck, Nova Scotia pays tribute to the great inventor and his various passions including medicine, flight, and visible speech. The museum features models of his work, mementos, and interactive exhibits showcasing his experiments. Visitors can explore Bells' legacy and learn about his significant contributions to technology and communication.
Interesting place to visit. Lots of great I formation. Almost all of it printed so a lot of reading. A couple of nice films that tell the story in video with actual photos and videos of events. The planes and other exhibits were amazing. Many small kiddos wandering and seem entertained. Nice gift shop and cafe.
Alexandra M — Google review
So many artifacts of such a fascinating and brilliant man! Bell’s dynamic wife is also deservedly celebrated. Great insight into his work and the science behind his sound inventions. Well designed displays. Places to sit and rest or contemplate. Well maintained grounds. Nice gift store with several souvenirs. The museum made me want to learn more about Alexander Graham Bell.
Scott J — Google review
We only had 30 minutes since the museum closed pretty early and a nice lady gave us advice to go to the back where more bigger exhibits were displayed. With this advice, we were able to get more than half of the museum done but I wished we spent more time there to experience the museum to its full potential. Overall, the museum was a great place with a gift shop and cafe and it was a fun experience and my family and I learned a lot about Alex Graham Bell and his life and saw his inventions.
Kriya P — Google review
Museum was informative, and really captured the essence of Alexander Graham Bell's legacy. It also gave an insight into his personal life, which was super interesting as well. We only spent an hour here tho and I feel that the most time you could spend here is 2 and a half hours.
Cinnabum D — Google review
If one "controls" the present (i.e., has $$$'s from AT&T stock), one can re-narrate the past. In reality, many folks were working on tele-audio and A.G.B. got to the patent office, with the right documentation, first before Elisha Grey. Assisted by hundreds of patent attorneys, Bell Telephone became a business and then became wildly profitable due to Theodore Vail and many "captains of industry" that captured the profits by creating a (natural?) monopoly protected by government edict. Yes, lots of benefits for human-kind, but it could have easily happened a different way. In my opinion, that is the much more interesting history that wont be told here.
Douglas R — Google review
A big and beautiful museum highlighting and celebrating the momentous achievements of Alexander Graham Bell, his wife Mabel and his associates. It's a walk down the lanes of history. The area around the museum as well, is picturesque and well-maintained. Definitely worth a visit.
Chowdhury Z — Google review
Facisnating Museum, detailing the life and achievements of Mabel and Alexander Graham Bell. From supporting the deaf (the best bit!) to the design of the telephone to hydrafoil boats and planes! Lots to read and see, good facilities and plenty of parking. A must stop. Only feedback is some arrows on the floor to guide you around the exhibits would help as it is not an intuitive flow.
Lauren B — Google review
Well, ol Alexander didn't get his due in my US history classes. He easily compared in brilliance with Edison, Tesla and the Wright Brothers. Best of all, his truest passion was helping people with hearing disabilities and was credited by Helen Keller for his tutoring and creation of a visual mapping and dictionary of sound which helped thousands to prosper and overcome stigmas of disdain. Airplanes, oceangoing craft, aerodynamics, and propulsion are all on display. The trip into this secluded spot is worthy of your time.

Restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, The Freight Shed: Waterside Bistro & Market is a charming lakeside dining spot housed in a quaint weatherboarded building. With its inviting beamed ceiling and relaxed atmosphere, this bistro specializes in serving up fresh local seafood paired with an impressive selection of regional beers.
It was a cold day but the server brought us warm blankets so we could continue dining outside. Food was excellent. The lobster roll had just the right amount of seasoning. Mussels were cooked well. Salad was fresh and flavourful. Lobster pasta was really good. Portion sizes were good. The ambience was comfortable without being overly fancy.
Justin K — Google review
We had a lovely night at The Freight Shed in Baddeck. The soft lighting and mellow music created a warm, welcoming vibe. Service was attentive and courteous throughout. I had the lobster pasta—generous with lobster and tasty sauce, though the red peppers weren’t a fit in that plate in my opinion. My partner’s surf and turf dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious—highly recommended. The location at the end of the wharf is stunning. Just one small note: I’ll ask for my red wine a little cooler next time. Overall, a wonderful evening!
Cynthia T — Google review
Perfect location right at the harbour, they were busy but our server was so nice, friendly and apologetic that things weren't moving fast. Drinks were amazing and our food came out actually very fast. Everything was delicious and well presented. We arrived early enough that we had no problem getting a table but we certainly saw things were busy as we left. Definitely glad we stopped in!
Jozy — Google review
Tried this place, and honestly, it was a mixed experience. The ambiance and presentation were nice, and the food tasted good overall — but definitely not worth the price. We had to wait around 40-50 minutes just to receive our order, which felt way too long, especially considering how packed the place was. It seems like they’re not equipped to handle the rush efficiently. When the food finally arrived, the presentation was impressive, and flavors were decent — but the quantity was surprisingly small for what they charge. Another big issue was the menu pricing. A lot of prices were either not clearly mentioned or misleading as mentioned market prices, and when the bill came, it was much higher than expected. In summary: good-looking and decent-tasting food, but overpriced, slow service, and not great value for money. Wouldn't recommend unless you're okay paying a premium for style over substance.
Y G — Google review
Definitely recommend stopping by the freight shed if you’re passing by Baddeck. Theres no question that everything was fresh and who ever is making the sauces for the meals, you’re doing a great job! The haddock was the only thing that was a bit plain but the potatoes and veggies that came with it were great. I honestly can’t decide which one of the rest of the dishes we ordered is my favorite so I’d recommend trying just anything! We sat inside but I also saw that they offer people sitting outside a blanket if it gets a little windy, which is a nice touch. Great service
Jordan N — Google review
We had the most wonderful lunch in Beddeck and thanks to our server Kristy! She was incredibly warm attentive and always been smiling! We were lucky to have gotten a table outside with beautiful seaside view. The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. This was our first time visiting this charming town, and everything felt so perfect: the gorgeous scenery, the tasty food, and the kind, friendly people.

We visited the restaurant twice on an overnight stay in Baddeck. It is one of the only restaurants open in the off season. We interacted with a number of the staff and all were very pleasant and friendly. The live music on Sunday was great. Even our 4 month old enjoyed it. The waterside restaurant location is quite small and more of an intimate dining experience. For supper we had fish chowder, crab dip, haddock and salmon and everything was fantastic. The chowder was one of the best we have ever had. For breakfast we had eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes and enjoyed everything. We are already planning our next visit. 5 stars all around !!
Alix B — Google review
Enjoyed a delicious meal at this popular Baddeck restaurant on the waterfront. Our server was very friendly and the food was outstanding. We had crab dip as a starter and my wife had the crab cakes and I had the fish tacos (cod). We sat outside on the night of the harvest moon. Overall an awesome dining experience.

If you're looking for a true taste of the sea, Baddeck Lobster Suppers is the place to be. This charming, family-owned spot focuses on serving up fresh, locally sourced seafood in a relaxed atmosphere. Forget about fancy dining; here you can indulge in hearty dishes like stuffed haddock and an array of lobster options.
Visited this evening and completely blown away not just by the food (which was excellent), but the service as well. For such a busy restaurant, the staff is very attentive (Shout out to Eli who was our server) On the food, can't go wrong with any selection. We went with four course meal, and it did not disappoint. The lobster and the Salmon were both equally enjoyed! Come in with an appetite, as the first courses of the chowder & mussels were delicious. Also nice to see it having a long history & family run
Brian D — Google review
Amazing dinner! The chowder and mussels were great, but try not to fill up on them or you won't have room for your entree. We ordered the King crab and salmon. Both were cooked well. For dessert we got the blubbery crumble and coconut cream pie. Both were homemade and delicious. I would definitely go back!
Silvana M — Google review
The atmosphere here is hard to beat! The live musician was incredible, and the whole restaurant was buzzing with excited patrons and a cozy family-run vibe. My husband and I split a cup of chowder and bowl of mussels (I really don’t think the AYCE option is necessary) and neither blew me away. The mussels were slightly overdone but still yummy. The highlight is the shellfish! My husband and I just had such a genuinely fun time eating this meal, retrieving our meat, wearing our silly bibs and enjoying every bite. The lobster was great but the snow crab was incredible! It may be a bit of a tourist hot spot but I can understand why and it truly was a very enjoyable dinner spot! Worth the wait!
Jessica C — Google review
We had an okay seafood experience at Baddeck Lobster Suppers during our stop in Cape Breton. The setting was casual and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and efficient. We came for the classics and ordered lobsters and a bucket of mussels. The lobster was definitely the highlight—juicy, fresh, and had that perfect bouncy texture that tells you it’s been cooked just right. It was served simply but done very well, letting the quality of the lobster shine. The mussels, on the other hand, were a bit underwhelming. They were quite small and not as flavourful as we had hoped. We later found out that they were a special type from PEI, which might explain the size. Still, they didn’t stand out the way we expected them to, especially compared to mussels we had elsewhere in the Maritimes. Overall, this was a satisfying and no-frills seafood experience. If you're looking for good lobster in a relaxed setting, this is a dependable spot. I’d give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Marcus L — Google review
Absolutely delicious!! Usually, these places cannot season food, but, as a black woman, I can attest that they can cook and season lobster! It was absolutely delicious! Kindest serves - we had Elsie and she was so sweet and attentive. The desserts were a dream - phenomenal! Best experience ever! Worth the whole drive from Ontario!
Lottoya M — Google review
We had an amazing meal here. The all you can eat mussels and chowder meal is probably the best bang for your buck you're going to get visiting Cape Breton. All the food was delicious, service was great, and atmosphere was inviting.
Immy V — Google review
This was a last minute idea for us before boarding the ferry to NFLD, so we were tight on time. It was very busy but the staff was kind and helped get us served quickly. The lobster and muscles were so worth the wait and the atmosphere was the perfect maritime experience!

From start to finish our experience was great. Our server was quick and knowledgeable about the menu and was able to work around my wife's food allergy.. My wife had the crab where as I had the All you Can Eat muscles clam.chowder with a whole lobster and a desert that we had shared. Cooked to perfection.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were quite disappointed that we had only reserved one night. Our room was lovely, and the mattress was exceptionally comfortable! We also appreciated the stunning views from our private balcony. The staff were both polite and friendly. We would certainly choose to stay here again.

Great stay!! Absolutely no complaints. Room was standard. Water pressure was great. Beautiful view of the lake from the deck. Breakfast was delicious, with some eggs, bacon, bread, cereal and some other options. Great location close to whatever you need in town - walking distance.
Natasha J — Google review
Clean rooms and friendly staff- the rooms are quite dated mid 80's. The breakfast was good, not continental, full breakfast buffet. Price was fair and location was close to basic amenities. I would revisit.
Shawn S — Google review
I recently stayed at this amazing lodge in Baddeck for two nights with my family and had an absolutely excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was top-notch, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were immaculately clean and comfortable, which made for a relaxing stay. The hotel’s location is ideal, providing convenient access to all the great local cafes and restaurants in town. The only small suggestion we have is to expand the breakfast menu, but this didn't take away from our 5-star experience. We highly recommend this hotel!!
Kanwar S — Google review
The location of the hotel is nice, but the house itself is so outdated! The rooms are equipped with worn-out interior and there are very loud noises from the refrigerator and the ventilation in the bathroom. A completely unstable, unusable internet is unacceptable nowadays! The top of the iceberg was the very simple breakfast, served on disposable tableware! So much waste!!! This is while the government tells us to use paper straws… Unbelievable!
Annett K — Google review
We only stayed one night and it was a great experience. Our room was clean and comfortable. The area is beautiful with lots to do within walking distance. Staff were friendly and breakfast was great.
Immy V — Google review
Fair place to stay a night. Typical motel-type set-up on one particular building- long building with rooms above and below. Nice view from 2nd story rooms. Bathroom was sizable. Beds were cozy. Main registration house had a lovely wrap- around porch with nice furniture. Breakfast room was nice. Breakfast seems to be typical for the area - paper plates - cereal, English muffins, toast, sausage patties and fried egg. Jam.

Older lodge that is EXTREMELY clean. The staff are all very friendly. Great view of Bras d'Or Lake. Very central location and the cutest breakfast area that makes you feel that you are in Cape Breton.

Uisge Bàn Falls Provincial Park offers a picturesque hiking experience through a hardwood forest, showcasing the vibrant colors of fall. The trail leads to the magnificent Uisge Bàn Falls, nestled in a granite gorge. As you journey through different forest types and into the valley, you'll encounter scenic viewpoints and diverse landscapes. The 1.5 km trail passes through maple, birch, and beech woods before culminating at the stunning 50-meter waterfall.
Took a short drive from where we were staying in Baddeck to go see this waterfall. The trail had just been groomed and it was pretty easy to get up to the falls. There was a bit of a rock scramble at the end to get close to take pictures. The water seemed to be down a bit but I’m sure it’s amazing in the spring after the snow melt. We enjoyed the hike and can certainly recommend! Took less than an hour up and back and taking pictures.

Amazing hike with amazing natural scenery and a gorgeous waterfall with a background setting to take your breath away. Our team at PhotographingInTheMoment (insta) loved the hike and overall experience that the trail had to offer. If you're looking to get out into nature and would like an easy hike, we highly recommend hiking Uisge Falls Trail.
Zeph M — Google review
A beautiful trail to a waterfall if you are in the Baddeck area. 45 minutes to the waterfall. Plan in 90 minutes. A bit of rocks to climb over at the end, but well worth it as you can get pretty close.
Corey M — Google review
Gorgeous fall color. Hike not that difficult, a beautiful waterfall at the end. Parking area is large enough. Dont forget to go to the bridge to take pictures, but remember, trail is not that way. A great stop in the cabot trail.
Arka D — Google review
Cool place. The main trail to the falls is an easy walking trail (gravel) until just before the falls where it gets rocky and rooty. The other part of the trail that goes along the river is a bit more rugged (typical single track) but not very technical and easily navigable. There are some nice river swimming spots along the river part of the trail.
Thomas C — Google review
Lays nicely in the forest. Large parts of the trail were closed off sadly but it's possible to get the waterfall anyway. Long rather rough gravel-road but acceptable. Saw some nice butterflies, trees, and for some reason strawberries (?).
Nils P — Google review
The trail starts off with a lovely beginner feel with easy gravel paths along the river. As you progress, the trail gets more of a hiking vibe with views of rough waters. Once you beat the beginning and near the end, the trail turns to a more intermediate level hike, no more gravel, climbing some rocks and traversing a section that only one person at a time can cross or risk falling. The reward is epic, one of Nova Scotias highest and most beautiful falls. Enjoy 🙂
Kristan J — Google review
Wow wow wow. Easy to find. Bit of a rough road getting there but overall not bad. Easy hike well maintained and good for almost any person. As you get closer the trail becomes a bit more difficult and not as flat be prepared. You walk by all these mini flows and falls and then you get to the grand finale which is absolutely beautiful. Huge amazing waterfall. We tried to climb up and see more but it’s too hard with the proper gear. I highly suggest visiting this waterfall. Water wasn’t bad I went for a little dip and the current isn’t to crazy or deep.

The Bistro Bell Buoy Restaurant is a gluten-free and nut-free establishment that offers delicious meals and desserts. They make all of their own bread, sauces, soups, and desserts, so even those with special dietary needs can enjoy their food.
I had the seafood trio and it’s without a doubt the best meal I have had since I arrived to Nova Scotia 6 days ago. The service is also very attentive and effective, from the man who greeted me with kindness and a smile to Sofia, who recommended the dish and made sure I was served quickly to arrive on time at the Ceilidh.

Choice to eat inside or on patio. The view inside is very nice. The wait was reasonnable given how busy it was. The food was excellent but quite on the pricey side. Waiter was great and I like that they bring a small light to your table. If you don't eat seafood like I do, you'll find the menu choice quite limited.
Ghislaine R — Google review
This cute little restaurant is situated next to the water which provides the perfect view during a meal. We shared multiple items including the fish tacos, escargot, lobster roll and seafood chowder (not captured here). If you enjoy escargot , trying lobster rolls and seafood chowder from all over…these items are definitely worth a try! There was a generous portion of seafood in the chowder and a generous portion of lobster in the lobster roll.

We had an amazing experience at the Bell Buoy Bistro, the food was very scrumptious, and the atmosphere was good too, we were seated outside and had a view of the street. The food was a bit pricy but definitely worth it, the Bell Buoy Bistro Roaster Wings were delectable, and the Cajun Haddock was good too. Once again, it was pricy but definitely worth it. Would recommend to try at least once, if your in Baddeck or anywhere in Cape Breton.

One of the only restaurants open till atleast 9 pm in Baddeck.Even though we reached around 8.20pm, they didn't rush us and served well. Place is decent, waiter was a delight, kept us up-to-date with places to visit and things to do-better than the hotel we stayed in. Food and drinks were good, though I'd have appreciated more selections; vibe was good. Would recommend to folks visiting Baddeck.

The staff were very good and very helpful. We ordered Fish & Chips and Seafood Chowder.... We asked to add a second piece of fish and the waitress came back out to tell us that it costs $19 for a second piece of fish! We appreciated her telling us instead of getting a surprise charge! The seafood chowder was very filling with several kinds of fish. Overall it was a good experience and I'm sure we'll be back for another meal. We travel throughout Nova Scotia trying Seafood Chowder and rating them and I can see this was the most filling. Flavour wise I'd give it a 7 out of 10 (It was just made and the broth didn't quite have time to settle so I'm sure it would be a higher rating)

This is the best restaurant in town! I came in search of a good salad and found two: a spinach salad and the bistro salad. I returned 4 times over an extended visit over Celtic Colors. Everything I ordered was excellent: two pasta dishes, Thanksgiving dinner, a burger, and repeat salads. They serve lots of seafood and fish if you're looking for that. (I wasn't.) I also tried several of their deserts (blueberry pie, pumpkin pie, and a fruit crumble) which were mighty tasty. The service was friendly and top notch, and the view was lovely! Great live music, also. When next I'm up this way, I'll definitely be back!

Nestled in the heart of Baddeck, Tom's Pizza has been a beloved family-owned gem since 1985. With options for both dine-in and takeout, it's perfect for any occasion. The menu goes beyond pizza, featuring tempting dishes like alfredo pasta, lasagna, and chili.
A friend from Truro told he about the his place. Insisted I try it when I’m in NS. This place serves amazing pizza! We just had a slice and it tasted really good. Will he back for take out tomorrow.

Tom’s Pizza offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. We especially appreciated the outdoor tables with umbrellas—and the fact that dogs are welcome was a big plus for our family! Located right next to the town's visitor center and a few charming gift shops, Tom’s is easy to find and has ample parking. The place was clean and welcoming, with internet access for customers and plenty of funny signs at the order desk to keep you entertained while waiting for your food. We ordered an 18-inch Meat Lovers pizza and a 9-inch garlic fingers for $44. The crust was thin and crispy, and they definitely didn’t skimp on the toppings—everything was generous and flavorful. You can buy a whole pizza or just a slice, depending on your appetite. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary water, and for those who enjoy a drink, local beer is also available for purchase. Our whole family enjoyed the food and experience. Tom’s Pizza is a great spot for a casual meal, and we’d definitely recommend it to others visiting the area!

We opted for a night in and some quick food before an early morning on the Cabot Trail. We tried a half and half Tom’s special and Ian’s special. Pizza was topped up well and was delicious. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quick bite! Restaurant is very nice with indoor and outdoor dining. Make sure to take a look at all their funny signs when you are waiting for your pizza. 🍕

Seems like a great family owned business. Friendly staff. Tasty pepperoni pizza. Solid deal of $6 CAD for a large slice and a canned soda (Pepsi products) Relaxed, chill atmosphere. Loads of great beers from local/Nova Scotia breweries. I enjoyed the Black Angus IPA. Nice chill patio dining. Classic rock/pop playing on the speakers.

After a certain time in the evening, there is no option for food in Baddeck or surroundings except for Tom’s, and I think that’s a good thing. I grabbed some slices from here a couple of times over the summer and every time, they were delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient, and there’s plenty of parking and seating. It’s also very conveniently located to pretty much everything in the town of Baddeck. My only minor complaint is that they have almost nothing on the menu except for pizza, but at least the pizza is good!

Tom's is a staple and honestly, it's probably the best pizza in Nova Scotia. If you're heading along the highway, make it a point to stop into Baddeck and grab a slice. Quality ingredients. I ordered 2 slices. I had to stop myself from ordering 2 more.

Toms Pizza is hands down my favorite spot for a perfect pie. The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The pizza itself is fantastic. My go-to is the Toms Special on a thin crust, and I always ask for it well done. If you're looking for a great local pizza joint with amazing food and even better service, Toms Pizza is a must-try. You won't be disappointed!

Silver Dart Lodge

Restaurant
Located in the picturesque town of Baddeck on Cape Breton Island, Silver Dart Lodge offers a comfortable and inviting stay for travelers. The lodge overlooks the stunning Bras d'Or Lakes and provides a range of accommodation options including straightforward rooms and chalets. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, beach access, and a casual eatery on-site. The lodge's expansive frontage offers beautiful views of the lake, while the staff is known for their wonderful hospitality.
We spent one night on our drive along the Cabot Trail. We stayed in the main lodge and the room was clean, bed comfortable and everything in good condition. It’s an older motel style building (you enter on one side and there is a balcony with chairs on the other side) and it has been well maintained. We did not eat in the restaurant so can’t comment on the food. Walking distance into town where we went for supper. The front desk was friendly and welcoming.

Mark checked us in and gave us all the info we needed for our one night stay. He was quick, efficient and very friendly. Although a bit dated, the McNeil House room 301 was very clean. If we’d been staying longer it would have been perfect to cook some meals and enjoy the local area too. We had a lovely view of the Bras D’Or Lake from the deck directly off our room. Shower was hot with good pressure. I didn’t like the smell of the toiletry products so used my own. Nice that they were provided though. Bed was super comfy. We didn’t use the outdoor heated pool but other were. It looked very clean. Location was perfect and you could walk to the local venues to enjoy the small town.

We had an incredible stay at the Silver Dart Lodge before starting our trip around the Cabot Trail. We were greeted by extremely friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to help ensure our needs were met. The rooms were comfortable and clean with everything you may need in the room and on the property, which had absolutely stunning views. We enjoyed a walk through the trail at the back of the property before dinner at the restaurant on site. We stopped by the pool on our way and were pleasantly surprised how clean and warm it was even in mid September. At dinner the seafood chowder was amazing! We went back for breakfast in the morning and were lucky to have the same amazing server and delicious food with a view. This was hands down our favourite stay on our trip around Nova Scotia. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful view! Just outside of the town but not far! They had an outdoor pool which was very clean and had bikes to ride around on and a walking trail! My partner and I had a great stay! The people at the desk said that they are there all hours of the day if we needed anything which made us feel safe.

Great place to stay if you're visiting Cape Breton. The lodge is spread out over a large area with a nice pool. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were at the lodge with a view of the water. The room was spacious with all the necessities. Plenty of parking space. There is a restaurant within the property and the town is a 20 minute walk. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Dishonest, false advertising. We are paying $190/night plus tax and when we arrived, they told us we're staying in a basement room. I hate basements and would never have intentionally booked a basement room. There was never any mention of this possibility before we checked in. When I brought up my concerns, the front desk offered me another basement room. I'm here right now with a migraine from the horrible smell, trying to fall asleep and it is musty, mouldy, and extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioning doesn't work. It is noisy. There are bugs crawling all over the dirty carpet. The issues at this hotel are structural and go far beyond outdated rooms. I will never stay here again. We are extremely disappointed and will likely end our family trip to Cape Breton early. Do not risk your vacation by making the mistake of staying here.

We were headed to go on the Cabot Trail but decided to stay in Baddeck. Stopped at tourist info & lady there suggested the Silver Dart Lodge. We had been travelling through Nova Scotia & PEI. So far this has been the most reasonable place and nicest that we have had. King bed and huge room & balcony over looking the water. No breakfast included but only $18. Lady at the desk was very friendly & nice. We had paid over $300 at other hotels and this out performs all the others. Highly recommended.

Large room , lots of pillows on the bed, 2 comfy chairs and a table in between. Not many channels in the TV. Beautiful view, with muskoka chairs. Large washroom area, good water pressure in shower. The peppery is quite large and spacious with a heated pool. 15-ish minutes walk into the town.

A perfect afternoon at “Ed’s Garage”. We were new to Theatre Baddeck and didn’t know what to expect - and we had an incredible time. Their newly renovated space is a stunning addition to the community, and the performance was top tier - excellent acting, thoughtful set and lighting, and perfect musical accompaniment. Go out for an afternoon or evening and support local theatre and local art!

Had a GREAT time here for vacation from the states❣️ Someone nearby recommended we catch a play here in Baddeck. I LOVED the first production so much, "Ed's Garage", that I HAD to come back to see the other before wrapping up our vacation! NO REGRETS!!! Such talent and from all over the country. VERY impressed. Thank you, Theatre Baddeck! I'll be back ;-) P.S. Music is ALWAYS appreciated ❣️

The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs in Nova Scotia offers a traditional experience of attending a kitchen party with open performances including music, dance, and storytelling. Visitors can witness or participate in the lively event where Gillian Head and Jason Roach showcase Cape Breton fiddling and piano playing. The intimate setting allows for genuine engagement between artists and the enthusiastic audience, creating an unforgettable experience.
Delightful evening of Cape Breton music. Tonight's musicians Gillian Head and Jason Roach were so full of energy and charm. Incredible how the organisers have kept this up every day for 25 years, and I am so grateful they do.

We came late due to being held up at The Lobster Galley restaurant nearby, but we were kindly allowed in. Didn’t know what I was expecting, but the musicians were pros and atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were so lucky to get to hear Brian Doyle on the guitar—what incredible talent and work on display. There are performances every night during the summer season at least. Learn about ceilidhs and the musical history of Cape Breton while enjoying good music, new friends, and a hot tea and oat cake!

What an AMAZING evening! Our family spent one night in Baddeck and we’re so glad we chose to attend the ceilidh. It was such a cool experience being surrounded by people from all over, in a little hall, sharing in the sounds of some beautiful music. If you are in Baddeck, you have to check it out! Dara & Adam performed when we were there, and they were absolutely incredible. Like seriously talented and a joy to listen to. I’d say it’s for all ages - We brought our 6 month old and he loved it. We did not bring infant headphones, but it wasn’t too loud for him.
Laurysa M — Google review
What an experience! I had the chance to attend this gathering in Ireland. Although there was no Guinness, they served a great cup of tea instead. We were blessed to see Rose Morrison and Buddy MacDonald, both international-level artists from the region who modestly took the time to present their work. Thanks, John! Way to go!
Wellington L — Google review
Dropped in on a whim and despite being half an hour late, got great seats to an unexpected and unforgettable experience. There is such quiet pride in the island's Celtic heritage, and nowhere is it more on display than during these musical performances. Melody and Derrick Cameron were brilliant musicians and consummate hosts, making the entire experience interactive as well, and Brian Doyle's impossible skill at guitar really rounded out the night. Come for a real sense of the community, stay for the music, oatcakes, and tea!
Eva Y — Google review
An unforgettable experience that is not to be missed if you are ever in Baddeck. From June to October for 7 days a week for the past 25 years a Ceilidh Gathering has been happening here. People in the audience from Denmark, Mexico, multiple US states, and almost all provinces of Canada were represented tonight. Buddy Macdonald and Rachel Davis entertained us with such beautiful Celtic and Gaelic music full of pep and gusto that it had us singing along, clapping and foot stomping throughout the 2 hour show. Complimentary tea and oatcakes served during the break.
Phil V — Google review
We had the pleasure of hearing Gillian Head and Brian Doyle. It was some of the best live music we’ve ever experienced. The host was great. The entire thing was lovely.

Perfect location. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. The only reason I didn't rate the room 5/5 was the TV was not great and couch wasn't very comfortable. We stayed two nights last week. The inn is located right in front of the water. We were assigned room 5 with a balcony, which is on the top floor (3rd) and facing the water. The view was gorgeous. The room was spacious and clean. The Owner Anne and Jeff were very nice. The home made breakfast was very delicious. We love cranberry bread and banana bread. my spouse also likes the tea Anne made. A customer was impressed by the friendly service and the willingness of the staff to accommodate their request to send an item to Toronto. Despite arriving early, they were able to communicate with the store and arrange for the item to be sent before their departure. This demonstrates the boutique's commitment to excellent customer service and quality products.
I was passing through Baddeck and stopped by the store just on closing time. I saw a top I really liked but wasn’t sure about and decided to call in the next morning before leaving but we were too early. I messaged and asked if it was possible to send it to Toronto before flying out in a few days. It was no problem at all and was there when I got back from the Maritimes. Great coffee and a very simple place, but coffee speaks volumes. A nice little cafe in baddeck on old margaree rd near the Alexander Graham bell historic site. Coffee was nice. Tried the dragons breath roast which is a dark roast. Nice strong flavour that doesn’t leave any bitter aftertaste. Service was good. Nothing bad to say there and nothing that stood out, which is always good. But everyone here seemed super nice. There is also a little patio out front to enjoy the cozy heritage feel of the strip while enjoying your coffee as well. There’s a little parking lot in front as it is in a little strip of stores, but seems to fill up quickly so you may have to resort to street parking. Great job

Quirky little place on Baddeck's main road. Excellent coffee. Limited menu with bagels, bagel sandwiches, and paninis, but the sandwiches we ordered were delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Fortunately we arrived just before the cruise buses, which disgorge enough tourists to overwhelm most of the small businesses on "the strip." :(

Dropped in here on our way through Baddeck and decided to test them by ordering a donair pizza. We are happy to report that the donair pizza basically passed inspection and was a really good pizza, like in the traditional Halifax Donair sense. However, it was the greasiest pizza I have had in a long time. They must use a lot of oil. I've attached photos. Great atmosphere and ambience, and you can sit on the deck on the downtown street and look across to the waterfront. A beautiful location.
Krista W — Google review
Had 16” donair pizza. Thin crust, quality cheese, onions and tomatoes, with thin sliced donair meat on a bed of donair sauce. For me I like the chunkier meat but the pizza was pretty good. Extra chilli and Parmesan shakers given at the table. Super decent… price is normal. Fed 3 easily.

Very friendly staff. Thought it was just a pizza joint like it was years ago when I ate there. Boy was I surprised. Had a beautiful soup and sandwich. My wife had a taco salad. The salsa was the best I have ever tasted. I assume it was not bottled. It couldn't be, it was that good. Very nice place to enjoy lunch & a glass of vino.

Ate here several time over a few days, both lunch and dinners. The service was always friendly and attentive, and we had a different server each time. Even when it was busy one night, the server checked with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was good. We had some great salads, that were fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the pizzas and pasta. They had many varieties of pizza and we tried both the white and wheat crusts. The wheat was surprisingl good. So often it can taste like cardboard, but this didn’t We always too full by the time dessert came around, so we passed. I would come here again.
Pamela O — Google review
Food was fine. But they had lost our order, so we had to reorder 50 minutes after we had ordered the first time. Spouse ordered over easy eggs, they weren't. Stuff like this happens, I assume it was a one time thing for them. They were nice enough to comp our drinks, juice and coffee. Because we had a 6 hour trip ahead of us, it was mildly irritating to wait the extra hour. May try them again next year.

The Three Doors Down Diner is a small, family-friendly restaurant serving hearty comfort fare and breakfast-thru-dinner staples. The food is great but its nothing fancy, and typical home made food. The apple crisp is really good.

Overall this is a good spot. The place is located on the side of the building. Interior during the pandemic allows for reasonable seating capacity. Service was also good and quick. The menu options are straightforward and prices are agreeable. We ordered the chicken burger combo, and a clam combo as well as an iced tea. The burger was very good, breading on the patty was crispy and the burger was appropriately mayo'd. The lettuce would have been crispier it was a tad wilted. Additionally the burger was pretty small. The clams were spot on, excellent breading. Iced tea was good. Not super sweat. The one thing would mention is the fries. The texture was good crispy outside, however a critical flaw was present. A complete lack of salt. The issue is that once out the fryer the things harden up and without that initial salt kick any salt you try to add on basically bounces off. Oh one big plus one of the knives we got was made by Thor. So that's awesome. Overall good.

Cozy little place. Food is above average. Priced a tad steep, but that's par for the town. Friendly service. Would recommend for a quick bite.
