Historical landmark
Malecón Fundadores in Puerto Penasco, Mexico is a renowned waterfront promenade that showcases majestic columns, seating areas, and a significant monument dedicated to shrimp fishermen. This famous boardwalk attracts numerous tourists who desire picturesque coastal vistas and an energetic ambiance. Along the Sea of Cortez, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of offerings including entertainment, recreational activities, and various dining establishments. Despite occasional cleanliness issues, the location remains an appealing spot to leisurely explore and immerse oneself in local customs.
Great spot to walk around. Lots of small shops and bars
Fernando S — Google review
It is nice and empty when it is hot and humid in July. It is a little dirty but overall a nice place to walk around and experience the culture. If you come on a weekend you can expect the traffic to be a solid line. You may find it more practical to park up the hill a bit and walk down.
Andrew M — Google review
Its showing age with rusty statue and missing plagues, but the steps with mural are still cool and the view out to ocean is amazing. Be prepared to wave away vendors or have lots of small bills.
Richard A — Google review
Great place for lots of awesome local shopping and good food choices, the place we are at didn’t have an AC but the food was decent. The stores will not bargain too much so be willing to pay the price they ask. Overall it’s a great place to hang out and they have street parking so bring peso coins to pay the parking meters. 2 hour parking limit on the street.
Tamanna M — Google review
I was here with my wife and family on 4/17/4025. It was a little strange that the city letters weren't hear. I also didn't understand why a Governor from Texas and New Mexico were honored with plaques at the bottom of the pillars. Overall the area was decently clean considering all the foot traffic. It seemed reasonably safe but you still need to pay attention. There were lots of aggressive street vendors trying to herd you into their establishment or to buy junk you don't need. Nice views but I am not in any rush to return.

Lots desserts and souvenirs. Sunsets are amazing. Lots of people always trying to sell you trips, rent utv and other things. Lots to see.....

Not many people in the off-season, so the best time to observe the monuments. Beautiful sea front promenade. 5 hrs drive from PHX.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque waterfront, Sr. Amigo Restaurant is a delightful culinary haven that seafood lovers simply cannot miss. Renowned for its fresh shrimp and fish dishes, this charming eatery offers an inviting atmosphere complemented by attentive and humorous service. Guests rave about the mouthwatering shrimp cocktail, often hailed as the best in town, while the vibrant fish tacos are a feast for both the eyes and palate. Even non-seafood enthusiasts find joy in their delicious Mexican-style burgers!
A great place with a spectacular view. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and made some good food recommendations. The seafood is very fresh. Clams was a huge portion and cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable for the malecon. We will definitely come back.
Howard N — Google review
For an unforgettable experience, head straight to this rooftop cantina! It boasts phenomenal appetizers, delectable food, and expertly crafted mixed drinks, all complemented by sweeping views. We were so captivated by the sunset atmosphere and the overall good time that we found ourselves returning for three consecutive nights. And we can't say enough about Josh, our waiter, who treated us like royalty.
Marshall D — Google review
Right on the water and very clean. The fish soup consisted of a light paprika broth, not too spicy, with an array of vegetables such as bell pepper, onion, carrots, zucchini, tomato, and cubes of filet fish. A scoop of rice on the side was very nice. The shrimp was fresh from the the sea 20ft away, cooked to perfection. The fish included a beautiful sauce with roasted carrots, a beautifully white fish, decorated with a tiny mound of alfafa sprouts. Just right! Great service too
John I — Google review
Right on the water. Parking is tricky but they allowed us to park out front for free since we were eating there. Our waiter David was attentive and kind. Food was great but at the end we were over charged. Always check your bill.

Food was great, service friendly fast and has an amazing view. We got coconut shrimp and fish tacos. The coconut shrimp were on the sweeter side but so delicious. Will be ack
Chance B — Google review
Best food experience you'll find on the Malecon! Views of the ocean, portions were huge, lots of flavor, drinks were strong and tasty. Fernando was our server and was excellent. Highly recommend!
Naoshad Z — Google review
We typically go here a couple of times a year. The food is good, the service is good and we like the views. My kids often get something relatively boring like a burger or something but my wife and I like their shrimp dishes. The bacon wrapped shrimp doesn't suck, neither does the shrimp quesadilla. Don't sleep on the margaritas.
Nick B — Google review
Dinner on the water can not be beat! The outside seating had the most beautiful views. During sunset you can see the fishing charters that ride around. You can hear/see the water hit the rocks below you. Very romantic spot and local artist stop by to play the classics. We ordered the oysters - they were perfect and not grainy at all. They had a wise selection of drink options, I had a Tecate. For food we ordered the shrimp tacos and the fish. Both we so delicious. Mouthwatering. I can not wait for visit again soon.

It’s hard to rate this location because during the week it’s dead. There is barely anyone out and seems like a ghost town. Very few businesses open. I personally enjoy walking in a new area seeing it in its regular day to day.

You hear about this place when you come to Puerto Penasco. It is pretty worn down. Everyone is trying to sell you something, every 10 feet, literally. You can find some good stuff, mostly trinkets and clothes. It's cool to say you have been here. Just dive in. It looks a little rough, but it's ok.

Renowned for its exceptional margaritas, La Casa Del Capitan is a beachfront eatery in Puerto Penasco that boasts an unparalleled view. Situated atop a hill and offering panoramic vistas of the town, this restaurant guarantees breathtaking sunsets with the right timing and advance table reservation. Its location can be found at Av Camino del Agua s/n, El Puerto, 83554 Puerto Penasco, Son., Mexico.
Best Margarita in town! Best view in town! Fresh seafood brought in every morning! Fresh calamari, fresh fist, fresh shrimp! These incredible "Shrimp Bombs"... Dumplings of shrimp, cheese wrapped in bacon... Good God! Only downside, pretty pricey, over $3000 pesos ($176 + tip) for 4 people. They do advertise a deal of 50% off between hours of 10am to 4pm, which would be awesome!
John F — Google review
Went there for Sunday lunch. Two stars are for the good view, that is the only thing we liked there. Ordered Steak Fajitas, cheese/potato soup and side od guacamole. Not impressed with the flavor. Fajitas served in the regular plates all together with other sides that comes with, made only with green bell peppers and onions (menu mentioned the bacon too), soup flavourless, side of guacamole warm and not tasty. We asked for IPA beer from the menu, they didn't have it, so we took something else. No napkins on the table, my husband went to ask for it in the middle of lunch, nobody came to check how everything tasted after the food was served. When ready to go, took a while to get our check closed because our server was cleaning other tables. Kind of pricey for this kind of service and tasteless food. The view is great! But we are not going back. Many better options are around.
Tijana T — Google review
I saw a menu stating that they had pizza here after absolutely craving Pane E Vino so we came here since it’s RIGHT NEXT TO IT and i thought it would be strange to have two places with pizza side by side but i also noticed that Pane was closed so i believed it against my best judgment. When we sat down, we ordered guacamole. It came with a huge portion of guacamole, which was amazing as well as a basket of chips and some salsa. While i did appreciate the heaping pile of guacamole, i would say the portion was excessive for the amount of chips that came with it and additional chips and salsa were 3 USD. Aside from that, the view was beautiful, the server was nice and they even had some musicians that go from table to table like most places here. I am sure i would’ve had a better time if my heart wasn’t set on pizza! All in all, pleasant experience but don’t be tricked into thinking they have pizza from another persons review.
Savannah D — Google review
Decided to give it a try after the poor experience we had a few years ago, and this time around it was a lot more pleasant. Their menu for the most part has remained unchanged, except for the prices, but the service was top notch! Ordered my Tampiqueña cooked rare, and it came out perfect, the cups and guac was delicious and we have many servers and this in the kitchen going above and beyond to make our experience. Would definitely come back!
Patrick D — Google review
Very fresh seafood even early early on a Thursday ! Oysters were shucked perfectly and the garlic flounder was everything a flounder could be 😀
J O — Google review
Great sea food atmosphere was calm and service was exceptional.
Roman D — Google review
I don’t think the view justifies the high prices. The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. My wife and I ordered breaded shrimp and ranch-style shrimp. Both dishes cost the same, around 450 pesos ($23–$25 USD), and they only had 5 shrimp. The menu mentioned, I think, 200 grams of shrimp, and I don’t believe 5 shrimp add up to that. As I said before, the food isn’t bad, but I also wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had. Well, the beans served with the meal were very tasty, the rice was just average. The place does have a spectacular view, but I don’t think that justifies the high prices.
Dom M — Google review
Really good Margaritas and good food go with really great views of the sunset. I ordered a combination fajita that was quite good and was plenty of food for my wife and I to share. The chips and salsa were also very good and one of the main things I judge a Mexican restaurant on… service was friendly and efficient and prices are reasonable

Mary's Sea Food Restaurant is a charming local establishment situated in the vibrant fish market area of town. This delightful eatery offers an extensive selection of seafood dishes, making it an ideal choice for both lunch and dinner. Additionally, they serve delectable margaritas that perfectly complement their flavorful cuisine. Located in downtown Old Port, Mary's is always a treat, offering a combo platter for four that is incredibly fresh and delicious.
Wonderful! Upstairs and downstairs seating. Water front. Wanted ceviche while here in Puerto Penasco- it was amazing. Octopus was good. All the food was amazing. Bring cash for tip. Can’t tip on the credit card. Parking for only $5 right next door. With security and giant spots for your vehicle. No need to worry about street parking. Zero complaints

Such great seafood restaurant, fresh food, well seasoned and cocked, I recommend it if you visiting Puerto Peniasco.

Beautiful view, great food, employees very great service, ordered micheladas that were 10/10 aguachiles and coctel de camaron. Was not let down at all will be coming back here next time we’re in town
Evelia N — Google review
Family of 5, went for dinner at 6 PM at Mary’s and each got various entrees with shrimp. Waited almost 90 minutes for our food on a slow night in late July but service was horrible. Mom was hangry and questioned the server after we waited 90 minutes then he delivered chips and salsa to pacify us. Couple minutes later our food was delivered but only two orders were correct! Missed items and cold servings but the kicker…we were told we had to pay by 8 PM as credit cards are not accepted after 8! Once we left the restaurant three of us got sick off what we felt was the strange tasting shrimp in an area known for fresh shrimp. We will not be returning and trying to understand how this place gets such good reviews. Stay away!

Delicious food! Beachfront, friendly staff and such good fish. No AC, gets hot but there’s shade. Plates were around $10-$15. Everything was excellent, good portions. Really good lemonade too.

Absolutely love this place! The prices were reasonable and the food was awesome! If you're looking for a good place to eat that is right on the water, literally, then this is where you need to go. I loved the views and the spaciousness upstairs. They came out with chips and salsa right away. They kept my limeade refilled all the time. It was a hot day when we came so they had huge fans blowing on us to keep us cool, which was awesome when combined with the fresh sea breeze.

Mary's is a great downtown restaurant with a nice view. We got lucky and hit it on a slow night. Our waiter Jose took good care of us. I asked for a pulpo dish, which is octopus. He gave me a dish off the menu, which was absolutely fantastic. Great food reasonably priced.

Food looked really good, however I felt it was not as spicy compared to other seafood restaurants I tried. I would prefer sitting inside and not in open roof top as there are lot of flies which can ruin your experience.

Lucky's Cantina is a popular spot located downtown, offering good food and stunning sunset views. The breakfast specials with adult beverages are quite appealing, although some have found the food to be just okay. However, the service is excellent, with attentive servers like Jorge who provide great care and make the experience enjoyable. The view of the water is beautiful, making it a relaxing place to enjoy drinks and snacks at great prices during weekday specials.
Love the balcony. You can look at birds or the ocean. Servers were nice. Breakfast is a steal. Love the helpfulness. Very fun to go to. They also play Natalia Lafourcade. You can’t get a better experience.

The staff and vibe is great! Food is decent, not the most delicious but not terrible at all. We just wanted a quick lunch and it worked out. Good place.
Zach K — Google review
What a fun place to start your day. Breakfast specials that include your adult beverage was appealing! The food was okay but the sausage patties were horrible. They tasted like wet cardboard (I'd imagine). The server was excellent, had great service, and was willing to put out water for the resident cat when we noticed it drinking water leaking from an ice machine. The view of the water was beautiful!

Jorge took very good care of us both times that we went in one week. The food was good. The portions are big. The beers are ice cold. The view was gorgeous. But Jorge was very attentive. He welcomed us the 2nd time like we were old friends. He made both experiences really great!

The guys are the best and they will bend over backwards for you! Treat them right and they will hook you up!

We've been going to Lucky's Cantina for many years. The service is great and the beer is always cold. They offer free breakfast with the purchase of your cocktails and free chips and salsa. There is plenty of indoor seating, but we enjoy sitting outside (weather permitting) There is a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunsets there are breathtaking.

This place has good drinks excellent atmosphere and is on the ocean. The food was very good. The specials were good and reasonably priced. I would eat here again. I would have given this place a five star but one thing that bothered me is that they charge a surcharge if you use your credit card. No other restaurant that we went to did this. The owner tried to blame it on the credit card company. If they're going to charge a surcharge for credit card use they need to post that. Overall the experience was good and I would eat here again.

Super strong drinks friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Win win! Loved the atmosphere, the lively decor and the veiw. Watching the sunset here is a good time all around. It's right near the water, so you get to take everything in. I had the friday special. Tastey for what it was ( grilled shrimp and fish). ... Oh, did i mention the super strong margaritas 👌🏾?

Great place to come and watch a dazzling sunset!!! We had the ribs (pork, they also have beef ribs) that were delicious. The shrimp is very good and vegetable pizza was delicious! The service was braggable and the total bill was $68 (which included two beers two wines). I left a $12 tip. Our friend, Mark Mulligan provided remarkable resort style original music 🎶

We arrived before sunset for dinner and a view.. fun atmosphere and decorations.. located at the end of the Melacon and you can park at the hotel for free..We absolutely loved the chips and salsa, chips are served warm and the salsa is yummy! Our dinner took over an hour to come out and with kids that doesn’t work well.. The choice of sides are beans or fries but they were out of beans and we got like 6 French fries.. Had the Sunday night chicken dinner special it was pretty good, the fish tacos we didn’t care for and carne asada tacos were a bit better.. they did bring sundaes for our birthday girls.. we didn’t get the margaritas but they did look good.. We would go back for drinks and chips and salsa..

Chicken restaurant
Mexican restaurant
Pollos Lucas is a popular outdoor restaurant in Puerto Penasco known for its marinated and grilled chicken, served with Mexican staples like tortillas, rice, and beans. The restaurant offers budget-friendly and delicious meals that attract both tourists and locals. The simple yet flavorful dishes include rotisserie-style chicken, Spanish rice, refried beans, freshly made tortillas, salsa, chopped cabbage, and limes.
Hands down the best Chicken in town (they even have one in Arizona in Coolidge!). The chicken has amazing flavor being grilled using charcoal. Excellent meal for the family that comes with beans, rice, tortillas, limes, shredded cabbage, pickled onions, Salsa and limes. Love this place and always swing by when in town. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Nader S — Google review
Pollo Lucas was a nice experience. The chicken was amazing and full of flavor. When you order the pollo entero (whole chicken) you get everything including the neck. The menu is pretty basic. Your meal comes with tortillas, lime, cabbage and slaw. You can order rice and beans and macaroni salad on the side. Place the order is kind of confusing so make sure you ask so you're getting what you want. Also paying is a little confusing. The seating is outside to be ready for the flies and the heat. Also not in the greatest location but everyone was really friendly and was having a good time. If I was to do it again I would order to go or for pick up but all and all it was a good time.
Regular O — Google review
At this point, no review is really needed, this is probably the best known spot in town. But still, it deserves the credit. Honestly, this might be the best chicken I’ve ever had. Simple, no frills, just done right. Staff is friendly, the vibe is great, and while the chicken is definitely the star, the sides hold their own too. All around, just a must-stop if you’re in town.
Jacob H — Google review
Wow! Really great food. They have parking. Chicken is seasoned very well. Our server wad attentive. Its outside but under a shade structure and there are fans
BRADLEE T — Google review
Chicken here is delicious, but they are small. I recommend you get 2 to 3 chickens if it's for a party of 4, lol. Good seasoning, and we only paid 35 dollars, and we got beans rice, salad and coke. Good customer service.
Esmeralda A — Google review
This is my go to when I get to Rocky Point. I get a few orders it comes with everything. Two half chickens, flour Tortillas, beans, rice, shredded cabbage and pickled red onion and salsa. Then I head to my condo and have a few meals for $20.00 us cash. it’s amazing and so fresh and delicious.
Tracie S — Google review
They say they have the best chicken in town and they're not lying. It is so delicious. You can get a whole or half chicken and buckets of beans and rice. It is very cheap. It has a good central location and is cute with a thatch roof. Unfortunately it is dirty inside with dogs and cats and birds. Also there are guys hanging out outside washing your car without you asking and they demand money after.

Leave enough time on holiday weekends. The place was packed. It took us almost an hour to get our food. There are drinks in the fridge that you can grab for urself. The charbroiled chicken is the only item on the menu. It was good. In my opinion their salsa, and their beans are the star of the show. They were very good and flavourful.

If you’re on the hunt for a delightful breakfast or dessert experience, look no further than Candy Cake. This charming spot is renowned for its mouthwatering donuts, pastries, and French Toast that will satisfy any sweet tooth. Alongside their delectable breakfast offerings, they also serve hearty lunch options complemented by fresh orange juice and rich coffee. The inviting atmosphere is enhanced by friendly staff who take pride in presenting creatively plated dishes.
We came here with a party of 8. This place is always packed. We had to wait for the tables to clear, which was fine. The coffee is probably the best coffee I've had. All the food was fantastic and plentiful, with a very nice display. Everyone was completely satisfied with their meals. We will have to make this a go to spot. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We first came across this spot years ago and it was five-star back then. All these years later, nothing’s changed. It’s still just as good. The staff honestly provides some of the best service I’ve had anywhere, and that alone makes a big difference. The food is still great and really consistent. We ordered pretty much the same thing we did on our first visit and somehow it tasted even better this time. Just a heads up though, if you go for something sweet, it’s sweet sweet. Not a bad thing, just be ready for it. Coffee’s decent too. Nothing special, but it does the job. Overall, it’s a solid experience. Great food, great service. The location might throw some people off at first, but don’t let that stop you. It’s easily better than anything around the resort area. Definitely worth checking out.

Wow, just WOW!! Some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had — fluffy like cake. We ordered the Grand Slam and the Mexican Combination, and both were out of this world. Everything was meticulously put together to perfection, from the fresh juices to the unforgettable horchata latte. Even the interior decor felt like a work of art. They have everything down — the staff in chef coats with talkies keeping everything running smoothly, the service, the atmosphere, the food, and yes, even the plates came out quick. This place blew me away — truly the hidden gem of Rocky Point!

If you're looking for a fantastic breakfast in Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), Candy Cakes is a top-tier choice. This charming café offers a delightful mix of Mexican and American breakfast favorites, all served in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Delicious Food– From fluffy pancakes and French toast to hearty chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, their menu has something for everyone. The pastries and cakes (as the name suggests) are also a must-try! Friendly Service – The staff is warm and attentive, making you feel right at home. Great Coffee– Their coffee drinks are the perfect morning pick-me-up. Cozy Vibes– The décor is cute and inviting, with a relaxed beach-town vibe. Candy Cakes is a gem in Puerto Peñasco, offering a fantastic breakfast experience with great flavors, friendly service, and a relaxed vibe.

Looking for a local place for breakfast. This place was great, short wait. This place has an English and Spanish menu, dont be afraid to ask. Our food was very good. Lots of sweets and sweet tastes. The fruit was very fresh. The chorizo had a sweet spice to it. Everything we had was really very good. It is a bit noisy, smaller space, and it packs in crowds. Very friendly staff, and helpful if you have questions. This place has one bathroom, just a side note. We are a family of 5, 3 teenage girls, and it was a good experience. Our bill was much cheaper than resorts. It's definitely worth checking out.

I had the most unbelievable meal and an incredible experience. This restaurant feels almost like make-believe, but it's very real and might just be the best in all of Mexico. The service and atmosphere are as exceptional as the food, all of which are Michelin-star quality. The line can be long, but trust me, it's worth every minute of the wait.

Talk about an amazing breakfast in Rocky Point! Omelet Abuelita with rajas sauce was next level. Large selection of pastries and donuts.

Everyone, I mean EVERYONE told us we needed to go to Candy Cakes for breakfast. So we did. Amazing! Everything. The staff appeared to be joyful to work there as every staff embraced a host mindset. Even the kitchen staff came out to the dining area to ensure everything was connecting seamlessly. Definitely a must place to dine when in Rocky Point.

La Curva Restaurant & Sport Bar is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Puerto Peñasco, where vibrant flavors and a warm atmosphere come together. This family-owned establishment boasts an inviting old-timey dining room adorned with linen tablecloths, creating a charming backdrop for your meal. Known for its generous portions, La Curva serves up an array of traditional Mexican dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds—think mouthwatering enchiladas and flavorful tacos made from fresh ingredients.
Five stars across the board—for food, service, and atmosphere! The service was warm and friendly, creating a welcoming experience. The food was authentically prepared and absolutely delicious—we tried several dishes, and each one was exceptional. The nachos with beef were definitely my favorite!

The staff is friendly, answered questions and quick! We had a party of 8 and got seated right away. The chips came to the table with a sauce and sour cream drizzled on top along with a side of salsa. Their menu is huge and in both Spanish and English. The portions are massive. All 8 people tried something different (except for two who shared the platter for two). Everything was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely make this a go to every time we go to RP. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We finally stopped in, the wife ordered Flautas I Pollo Asdo. The food arrived fairly quickly, I was impressed by the portion size, the price appeared a bit hefty compared other places in Mexico. The amount of food about equals out. Very good flavor. The Menu is fairly extensive. Plenty of Seating.

If I could give La Curva Sports Bar more than 5 stars, I would. This place is hands-down the BEST Mexican restaurant in the world. Everything here is handmade, authentic, and bursting with traditional flavors that you just can’t find anywhere else. They’ve been serving Rocky Point for over 40 years with the same owner, and you can feel the love and care in every single bite. One of my favorite things about La Curva is their platters—you can try a little bit of everything, which makes it perfect when I bring friends or family who are visiting. It’s the ultimate way to taste all the Mexican classics in one sitting. The chile rellenos are perfection, and their shredded beef enchiladas with ranchero sauce? Truly life-changing. I don’t usually go for red sauces, but their ranchero sauce is absolutely out of this world—rich, savory, and unforgettable. Even their salsas are standouts. They bring out a red-and-green hot salsa that is fiery, almost too hot to handle… but it’s so delicious you can’t stop eating it 😋. La Curva is a true hidden gem in Rocky Point. Authentic food, incredible flavors, and 40 years of consistency—it doesn’t get better than this. Whether you’re a local or visiting, do yourself a favor and eat here. You’ll never forget it.

The food and staff are absolutely amazing. They make you feel like family. Their menu has lots of choices and is reasonably priced and the food is to die for. Also, they have 2 guys that play the guitar and sing at your table. They are really good and fun. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, first and farmost! Excellent experience, to the point we went back again the next evening!

I would definitely not recommend this place!! The server was a white chubby Mexican middle age men, making unnecessary jokes and trying to sell drinks even when declining. Towards the end, demanded a tip! I am from UK and we do not give out tip and so out of generosity, I gave a tip and was really ungrateful and said this is nothing in pesos! How rude!! The server demeanour is based on the amount of tip given. Never coming back and the food was not special either. AVOID

Playa Hermosa Beach

Public beach
Playa Hermosa Beach is a popular spot near resort areas, offering the quintessential beach experience with vibrant energy and various amenities. Visitors can expect a lively atmosphere with drummers, bands, and vendors offering food, drinks, accessories, and even services like hair braiding and henna tattoos. Additionally, beachgoers can rent chairs and umbrellas for a comfortable stay. The beach also provides opportunities for water activities such as jet skiing and banana rafting.
Nice beach. Busy with lots of vendors on the weekend. Shallow enough for kids to play in. Waves can get pretty big also - fun but not suitable for paddling or any water sports. Park for free on the street before the gates and walk down the hill. Otherwise prices run about $9 US for “secure” parking.
Brook J — Google review
Sunday may 10th. I love this beach. So much to see bigtime social. There's mandas and food and drinks. Smoothe sand.
Jenica T — Google review
This is the best Wingfoiling spot I found in Puerto Penasco. The Winds were south, and weaker (barely 12 knots) than the forecast (12 to 20 knots). There's just a little rocky area to pass at low tide and then it gets deep and sandy quickly. The waves were small and gentle (I'm not an expert!). The swell was manageable despite the weak wind - my first time "riding" a swell 😉. I parked and carried everything (Gong inflatable board) but there are people with wheelbarrows that can help you for a fee). I also paid a table with a shade to have a comfy spot. Cherry on the cake: there was a Mariachi band playing on the beach while I was sailing! Only in Mexico! The down sides of this place are the crowds and the parking which is a bit too far away. I also drove a few times all the way East to playa Encanto, but the waves there are breaking for too long of a distance, it would have been much harder to pass the break there. Las Conchas have too many rocks and low water for too long, that's a no go for your foil. And lastly, north of La Choya there's no water at low tides!
Joao B — Google review
The beach and ocean are lovely (soft sand, pretty warm water). You can buy fun drinks at vendors and rent umbrellas and tables/chairs for ~$30 USD. It does get quite crowded midday. There is some free parking, and closer paid parking.

This is the place is where to go and get jet skiis, banana rafting. Ask for Jackson or Jaciell (Jets skii guys). Great prices no rush. Good vibes. Fyi most public beach, expect lots of people. If you have 4x4 dirt entrance gets you 20 yards parked from the water, no charge. If not parking nearby id 5 greenbacks. Lots of food and drink vendors. Hair brading, henna tattooing, bracelets with your names. Even a mini street shops area... Enjoy

Fun charming atmosphere and delicious food. Many unique options like banana bread French toast, and lots of eggs and meat dish options 💪🏼 My Divorced eggs and steak was great! Everyone in party enjoyed their food. Definitely a new stop for every time we are in Puerto Peñasco.

Wonderful coffee house/restaurant. Staff were exceptional and very friendly putting up with our extremely poor Spanish. We appreciated their efforts to make our meal enjoyable and we came back again for another great breakfast. Food was delicious and well made, they were so busy but we never felt rushed. Give these staff members a huge tip they deserve it! Definitely a must visit/dine! Beautifully designed interior as well. Traffic can be busy, but they have a parking attendant to help and work on tips only. Be sure they are worth the tip you give as the road outside is busy.

I normally don’t write negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my recent experience. I visited this restaurant about a year ago and had a wonderful time—the service was excellent, the staff was warm and hospitable, and the food was flavorful. Unfortunately, my visit on July 26th, 2025 was very different. The food was served cold and lacked seasoning—it was quite bland. The servers we had didn’t clearly explain where to get water or tea, which made things confusing. Additionally, the restroom was messy and not well-maintained, which added to the overall disappointment. This was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had, which is disheartening given how great it used to be. I truly hope improvements are made—I would love to return someday and have the experience I once enjoyed.

La Negrita Restaurante is a hidden gem in Rocky Point that should definitely be on your culinary radar. This charming eatery, now located in a new spot, serves up authentic Mexican cuisine with an emphasis on freshness and flavor. Guests rave about the friendly service and the inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.
WHOA! This place is INCREDIBLE!! First off our server was so great! Super friendly and very attentive 😊 We shared the Trio Volcano and it's probably one of the best things I've ever eaten. Seriously! We shared it between 4 people as an appetizer and I think next time I want a whole one to myself haha. They have great BOGO deals throughout the week and the volcano came with a free Margarita! How can you beat that?!? I HIGHLY suggest this place and can't wait for our next trip down to try a different volcano 🤤
Kimberly W — Google review
This is our new favorite place! Our kids loved their carne asada tacos and my husband and I loved our volcano!!! The flavors were so on point and I wanted to lick the bowl. It was the perfect spice. The server/owner knows English well, was super nice and very attentive. We will be back!

Amazing food and service, just off the beaten track so not a tourist trap. We had a bit of everything , And their Baja fish tacos were some of the best I've ever had. Asked them to "heat" them up a bit and they brought me a side of sauteed jalapenos in a savory broth that was off the charts!! We'll be back!

Had lunch here on our way out of town. For came in a volcano and was very good and authentic. We had ate here before at their previous location. They have since expanded to a restaurant on the 2nd level of the Mar y Sol hotel. Food is great and they have plenty of weekly specials and a breakfast buffet. Follow them on Facebook for updates. Be sure to try them out. BTW. The scope and lotion in the bathroom (the extras) made the experience even better
Amy M — Google review
This restaurant came to us highly recommended by locals it's a quiet nice place but be aware it's on the second floor with only stairs as access to entrance the owner is very friendly and accommodating they take pride in the food and customer service It was suggested to try the volcanoes because you can get a margarita for free with it and I must say it didn't disappoint It was a lot of food but very delicious if you finish it all like I did you will be very sleepy afterwards

Update: New Location is amazing. Same great food. Great local family restaurant. Great owner speaks perfect English. They do now serve alcohol so you cannot bring your own drinks anymore. Chimichanga was filling and crispy immediately out of the fryer and the enchiladas were excellent with fresh lettuce on top. The guacamole was chunky and fresh and we left stuffed. Will be back again. We have had so many great meals here and just keep coming back for more. **I removed some of the old locations photos and will add more next visit**

I had the most amazing dinner there tonight. Roberto’s (the owners) service was excellent. The #7 Volcano was a combo of shrimp, crab and other chunks of fish in sauce/soup to die for all served in a huge fired stone bowl with the broth still boiling!!! I highly recommend this venue. The only negative is that it is on the second floor. It’s worth the climb!!!

A pretty cool bar / restaurant. They have nightly specials of which Monday is quite the deal, cheeseburger fries and beer for $5 USD. The burger itself is at least a 1/3 pounder, maybe more. That is a sweet deal and everyone knows it as the place is packed on monday nights. Margaritas are good too. They have a pickleball court too which is the first that I have seen in a bar. Downside, is they close at 7:30 pm every night, maybe that's just off season, but it still is pretty lame. Onion rings are excellent.

It’s just ok. Monday night fast food burger special for $5 with water or soda (they don’t do the burger & beer anymore). The margaritas in the special were very small and not great. Basically, you get what you pay for: cheap prices and food quality to follow.

I heard from some friends of mine that dukes burgers was not the same. I still had to try for myself. The picture of the buger you see online is false. Remember the commercial where is the beef. The patty was so small I had to peel away the rim of the dry bun. No flavor to the patty, and the waitress messed up on our bill. Sorry to say this, but I will find a better burger elsewhere. I have been to Manny's 3 xs in less than a month. I have enjoyed their coconut shrimp, chicken Alfredo, and burger. All great, including the fries! The open-air dining suggests you dress appropriately. Sunny and shady dining available. It's my go-to dining spot!

100% hands down the best margarita in Rocky Point. I've been to all of the bars down here and the Cadillac Margarita is without a doubt "Numero UNO!" You will not be disappointed.

I camp at playa Bonita but we decided to go over to manny’s the other day. Great drinks! We had margaritas and they were really good…I suspect they use fresh juice not some crap in a bottle that’s not real juice. Nice generous sized drink and you can actually taste the alcohol in it. Great prices too! Only 9 bucks for a real margarita. Highly recommend going over there and they have live music regularly! Xxoo love you guys! We will be back!

The staff at Manny's made our family feel like we were their favorite return customers. Everyone we met there was great, but we especially enjoyed our waiter, Fabian. Can't say enough about the atmosphere, I'm sure it's a great adult hang out spot at night, but it was very family friendly during the day. We went back again the next day. Thanks!

Don’t waste your time The service is horrible and our orders were wrong. No pizza even though it’s on the menu The fish was not fresh At the time of this review MANNYS is not serving alcohol because they lost their liquor license

One of the best places to chill and eat/drink when in Rocky Point! Location is perfect as they are right on the beach with easy access to the warm waters - not the cold CA waters!! Drinks are always well poured, and the hospitality is always 1st class. The food is great, along with a nice variety as you would expect in Mexico. They have a great swim up bar, and usually always a live band playing great tunes, with a nice size dance floor.

Tekila Bar is a lively and vibrant spot located in the heart of Malecon, offering stunning ocean views and a perfect setting for a fun night out. The bar is known for its energetic atmosphere, great music, dancing, and a wide selection of cocktails. With custom tequila barrels dominating the decor, it's also an ideal place to enjoy fresh seafood like fish tacos or their popular Tekila Burger.
First time here. We had dinner on the 2nd floor very nice and comfortable large tables overlooking the street and ocean. Food was really good, service was great! I will visit again. Hostess, Maria, was amazing!

I visited this restaurant with my wife and family on April 17, 2025, after researching it on Google Maps and seeing positive reviews. The location is a bit tricky to find as it's on the second floor, and the elevator was out of service during our visit. If you have mobility issues, you might want to reconsider visiting. The restaurant offers great views, fresh air, and allows smoking inside, which we appreciated. The service was excellent; the staff communicated clearly and did their best to accommodate us. Prices are reasonable for a tourist spot, and the murals on the walls are quite interesting. However, the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable for larger individuals. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. It was excessively oily and greasy, possibly due to old or poor-quality oil. For seven people, the bill came to a little over $200. While the views and drinks are nice, I would likely choose a different restaurant next time I'm in the area.

Fun bar on the malecón. Went on a slower night of the week but had fun with everyone there. Service was great & they hooked us up! Not entirely sure the tequila wasn't watered down, Don tasted a little on the light side, but it is what it is in MX & the whole vibe was great! House music was a good mix of American & Mexican. They have funny, creative names for their cocktails & serve food.

We love rocky point and this space. Potential to be a GREAT venue but the band is just too loud. It’s the auditory equivalent of staring into an eclipse. Saw many people walk in and turn around and leave but I’m confident a sound engineer or equivalent would fix. But as soon as the band stopped, the crowd doubled, the music became less painful on the ears. Drinks are a lil overpriced but props for staying open late. Maybe it’s better with the pool party in day. At prices consistent with high end venues, it would be prudent to invest in sound quality.
Amy K — Google review
Hands down, some of the best service in this town. A lot can be learned if other places would use them as a model. They do not intrude into your space or push anything on you, they simply want you to enjoy you time in their bar, and come back (which we did). Fun bar, great margaritas, and a great balcony view of the ocean! You will like this place. Really cool at night, everything it's light up with black lights and the paint is neon under that lighting! Fun place, really good prices, will be returning!
Patrick D — Google review
Great place and great food. This is in a louder section of the Malecon strip so if you’re looking for a quiet dinner, this would not be the place. Lots of music and you can overlook all the revelry of the Malecon strip from their balcony bar.

Great food and such a fun bar/club atmosphere! I ordered the chicken wrap and it was literally plenty for two meals! The ambiance here is so fin... right across from the ocean and on the main strip! We sat on the patio but as we walked back thru the "club" it was such a fun and active vibe!

Seafood restaurant
Mexican restaurant
The Friendly Dolphin, located at Alcantar 44 in El Puerto, is a charming restaurant offering delightful seafood dishes with views of the water. It's a great spot to enjoy seafood delicacies and relax with a refreshing drink while savoring some chips and salsa. The garlic flounder and shrimp dishes come highly recommended.
Love, love, love this place! If you're looking for Mexican, with seafood flare, in the most beautiful venue, you found it! Beautiful multi story house, converted into a restaurant, the mosaic in the top floor dining area bar is absolutely stunning! Highly recommend their margaritas, they paid nicely with the fish. Just a fun atmosphere, and if you get a seat on the balcony, you will enjoy it! We love coming here and will continue for years to come!
Patrick D — Google review
It was a nice. We ordered the shrimp and fish dolphin style per the waiters recommendation. It was okay, but not something we would ever order again. We were told it was citrus based and a little sweet because of the citrus. It was citrus, but it was kind of creamy sweet soup with lots of zucchini and other veggies served in an aluminum formed bowl. The bread was good. I wish Daniel, our waiter had listen to us when we asked and said we didn't want sweet. Also, he was very attentive at first and then disappeared (out talking with fellow servers on the steps) leaving the bus boy to help us and a lot of other tables. Daniel spoke good English so communication was easy, but the poor young bus boy struggled somewhat. It really was sad that our server chose not to complete his job. I just hope he was respectful enough to share the tip with the young man that did more than half of his work. 🤔 The view was quite nice. We sat on the patio.

Hospitality 100% this is the spot. There are 3 floors and as you wonder the walls its really a blast from the past. As you go through each level you can really see the progression of the establishment. I definitely plan on visiting this place again.

Daniel was our server. He was fantastic! Presently I have mobility issues and this wonderful restaurant opened their lower floor so our girls weekend party could enjoy our dinner. Couldn't have asked for better food and service.

Worth every peso! Service in RP is always exceptional, but ‘the Dolphin’ goes above and beyond. From the minute you walk into this amazing atmosphere you feel like the most important person in the room…even though there could be 75+ other patrons experiencing the same attention. Food and cocktails cannot be highlighted by simple words, i.e. go and taste! This is a must stop for me and my family of 5. I strongly suggest hitting this up each and every time you are in Rocky Point.

Great food and great service. They're open again! On a Friday night... We were the only ones there. Unheard of! Never seen it so empty.

Good food, beautiful place, great atmosphere. On the pricier side, basically same prices you would find on a popular restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, but the food is definitely good. Friendly and fast service, the waiter definitely put an effort to makes feel welcomed. They have outdoor and indoor seating and you have a view to the marina. The restaurant is on the second floor and the stairs are very narrow, I doubt somebody on a wheelchair could get to the restaurant without assistance, and then some. Overall a nice experience, it was a good meal.

Pane e Vino Ristorante is a charming upscale restaurant in Rocky Point that offers a romantic atmosphere and Mediterranean and Italian influenced cuisine. The menu includes a variety of dishes, from Italian delicacies to brick oven pizzas. Situated on a hilltop, the restaurant provides stunning views of the city and sea sunsets. Whether it's a hearty lunch, intimate dinner for two, or family celebration, Pane e Vino Ristorante is an ideal choice.
Definitely the best pizza in town! They ferment their pizza dough for 48 hours which is why it is so heavenly. Also, the shrimp bisque is spectacular! We had the tiramisu dessert and it was good, but not great. Great views of sunsets up there at the top of the hill. The staff was very friendly.

So happy we came here for sunset dinner. (When you go, time it for best op and pics)I would definitely recommend to all my friends family and you. Rodrigo was a great server, he took our family sunset pics, timed dessert perfectly and got double kudos OFFERING to sugar rim the refill after he had seen me do it to my prev drink. Food was awesome. Loved the toasted bruschetta, pizzas were perfect! Crust/ dough was FRESH. We ordered Chocolate Lava brownie. So good we ordered another. Lemonade was fresh. All in all, you should definitely go! sit outside if you can stand the sun for a moment until the sun starts to set. A few more favorites: mashed potato’s and French fries were surprisingly delish. Sorry I didn’t get pics of food. The other review pics are true though. No reservation needed. Upstairs seating has a separate more Italian fine-dining menu and didn’t have pizzas n’ burgers.

Stunning views from the patio! We were lucky to get a reservation for the patio. Prices are more expensive then the rest of rocky point but still reasonable! The chicken piccata was delicious! Dinno was out server and he was great! Parking can be a little tough but be patient and the attendants will get you taken care of!

Came to this place on my birthday and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes Italian food. Wow I was very impressed as the pizza caught me by surprise. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could give 10 stars, I would!) Pane e Vino Ristorante is an absolute gem in Puerto Peñasco! My wife has celiac disease, so finding truly safe gluten-free options is always a challenge when we travel. Not only does Pane e Vino offer gluten-free pizza, but it’s hands down the BEST gluten-free pizza we have ever had—my wife didn’t get sick afterwards, which is huge. As someone who can eat both regular and gluten-free, I can confidently say their GF pizza isn’t just "good for gluten-free"—it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, period. The crust was perfectly crisp, the flavors were spot on, and every bite was incredible. To the owners and staff: thank you for making such a wonderful experience possible for those with dietary restrictions. You’ve earned a loyal customer, and we’ll be back every time we visit Puerto Peñasco!

Great fine dining in Rocky Point. You should make a reservation. Best meal we have had in Rocky Point. Beautiful views. Returned again and got pizza. If I ever get a last meal request, I will ask for the special pizza. Truffle oil, ricotta cheese, basil & ham. Oh my gosh I can die happy. What a treat.

With an impressive selection of wines and handcrafted cocktails, The Point elevates your dining experience to new heights.
Food was good. Views are one of a kind. Initial service was lacking. Seated and not given menus or stopped on by a wait staff for at least ten minutes. After this, we were better attended to. Steak fajitas were steaming hot as served. Beef enchiladas were good, and their rice tastes extra soft and buttery with great flavor. Margarita was great too, but tequila sunrise didn't taste like it had much alcohol.

⭐0 star 👎👎👎 (owner need to see this) Very disappointing experience. My wife and I had a reservation at 9:30 PM hoping to enjoy some good fish and the nice view. Unfortunately, the night was completely ruined. Our food didn’t arrive until around 11:15 PM—after the restaurant had already closed. When it finally came, it was undercooked, smelled bad, and was simply inedible. We tried to speak with the manager, but she showed no professionalism or concern. Instead of listening to our complaints, she insisted the food was fine and blamed us for not liking it. Every time we tried to speak, we were cut off. To make it worse, some of the staff made rude comments in Spanish. When I replied in English, they immediately responded, confirming they understood us all along. I asked to have the garlic fish and fajitas removed from the bill since they were not edible. They refused and told me they would just pack it to go. When I went to pay, they said “cash only,” even though I only had a card. After making me wait 15 minutes, they finally said they could accept my card. This place seriously lacks customer service. We came to enjoy a meal with a view—not to be disrespected, wait two hours, and be treated like we were the problem. The owner needs to take a hard look at how this staff treats customers. Totally unacceptable.

Regina deserves 6 Stars. My wife and I ordered 6 different items and everything was fantastic. This is one of those restaurants where every dish on the menu is carefully curated and authentically made. We are ecstatic to have found this gem! Go and enjoy the best food in Peñasco. A+++ Gorditas de Chicharon were chewy, fresh, handmade and filled with moist, flavorfilled chicharon. Delicious! Garlic mushrooms are served with lightly buttered thick toasted French bread rounds. They are meaty and so well seasoned you cannot stop eating them. Highly recommended. Queso asado is a big chunk of panela cheese beautifully grilled and melted onto a huge piece of Nopal. Chile Relleno is the best I've had in my life! Puffy egg around a tasty pompano pepper stuffed with queso topped with a chunky sauce of tomatoes, peppers and onions. The whole dish produces a wonderful jus that blew my mind! I cannot stress how much you HAVE to order this dish. DO IT (Bonus: it is served with an absolutely incredible small, tender, flavor filled meatball on the side! WOW Enmoladas de pollo were next. Mole is a tricky dish since there are literally hundreds of thousands of versions. Reginas is par excellence! Tangy, sweet, rich, dense and powerful. Moist chicken inside corn tortillas support this amazing Mole. Last but not least we ordered milanesa de res. Crispy coating with a thin tender slice of beef inside, 2 big portions! Delicious fries underneath to boot. Note; all dishes are served with refried beans, Mexican rice, salad and chopped avocado. All top notch! Service is very, very good. Details such as bringing me a second napkin on a tray to the table and placing it folded on the side of my plate were pristine. Much appreciated. Decor is bright and traditional and gorgeous. Overall this is now, by far, our favorite restaurant in Peñasco! Cocina de Regina delivers! Cheers

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also provides take-out service. Additionally, the area around Rocky Point is perfect for ATV rides along the coastal areas and outskirts of Puerto Penasco.
Totally delicious food! We had fish and chips, the burger, buffalo wings and spaghetti bolognese. Service was great and food was wonderful. There was no wait when we went. There is a fun brewery vibe and a stage for live music. We will be back!

I haven't been here since the major renovation, and I'd have to say wow. The place is totally transformed. It now looks like an upscale brewery. I didn't even recognize it from the outside, never mind the inside. The menu is still very extensive, and now they carry a lot of draft beers. Pricing is a tad on the higher side, but the quality of food was excellent. Service was a little slower tonight. I'm not sure if it was because there weren't many customers. All in all, it's a great place.

My bf and i stopped in here for a quick drink to check out some local brews. I had a margarita, wasn’t the biggest fan but the beers were good. They had some cool concepts and plenty of Big Tuna options on tap. The bartender was really cool and checked on us pretty regularly, which was nice. He told us about some other cool little bars and restaurants around the area that mostly only locals knew of. The atmosphere was really cool, it was a super spacious place and you could see the tanks where they brew the beer. The restaurant had tons of windows so a lot of nice natural light. Also quite a few tvs broadcasting sports so probably a cool place to drink and watch sports if you’re into that. We didn’t try any of the food but i would definitely come back to this place!

Disappointed to say the least. Been coming here a long time before they became so popular & expanded. Service was particularly awful from the female bartender with a ponytail. It was not busy but she ignored us & when we finally got her attention to place an order she appeared to be bothered by us & never came back. Just walked past us or talked with her other employees or drank her drink while ignoring us. I’m actually sad to say we will never go back because we used to love this establishment.

Great service and vibes. The coconut shrimp was tasty and the guacamole and beans with cheese were fresh. Sadly, the green salsa was flavorless, and my flautas were a little cold, but they reheated them without any issues. My husbands burrito was delicious and we’re looking forward to returning when they have live music. Little things that they can work on is just changing their batteries to their smoke detectors and ensuring their food is nice and hot upon delivery.

Nice hut experience. Good vibe inside. Great service. The tortilla soup was served with a cup of soup you pour over cheese and chips. Street tacos were on point. They have all the hot sauces from Tapatio to Tabasco to other Mexican brands. We got a shot of Don Julio and it actually tasted like Don Julio. This was our first meal during our trip and we were so satisfied with it.

Nestled on the outskirts of Puerto Peñasco, Puesta del Sol is a delightful beachside bar and restaurant that offers a serene escape from the lively nightlife of the area. With its relaxed vibe, this charming venue serves up mouthwatering seafood and refreshing cocktails, making it an ideal spot for unwinding while soaking in breathtaking ocean sunset views. Whether you're looking to enjoy a romantic dinner or dance under the stars in its open-air setting, Puesta del Sol seamlessly blends dining with vibrant nightlife.
This location is on Playa Bonita Beach, close to where we stayed in Puerto Penasco, and as the service and food is good, we found ourselves eating here a couple of times in the week. The service is exceptional; they cater largely to tourists, so they pay attention to detail. The food is good; we liked everything but the chicken sandwich was a little strange. The chilaquiles were awesome! Recommend the red sauce. Finally, but not least, the outside dining over looks the beach and some amazing sunsets.

Our favorite place. Great food, amazing atmosphere, the view is gorgeous. Service is extraordinary.

Had breakfast there. A buffet and all you can eat. Plenty to choose from. Made to order omelets and all the fixings. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Nice atmosphere. After that in the evening had a few drinks and watched the Canelo / Crawford fight for free. I highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Good and large quantity food but it was okay, maybe the dishes we tried weren’t that great. But the service was excellent, atmosphere is great because of all the lights, live music sometimes, and beach facing views. They were open even after some people kept coming past 10 pm but that was a good business and gesture. The drinks we tried were perfectly balanced.

Awesome food and our waiter was Great! Fun environment and everyone was so friendly! Best fish I had had! Band was remarkable and had a fantastic fun playlist. Views and proximity to the beach and ocean are on point! Was a great spot for locals and visitors!

The service and food is 5 star. There is seating inside or outside under a covered patio or large open air ocean front patio. The menu offers seafood and Mexican food. Cocktails are available. A great place to watch the sunset.

Rodeo Drive Cholla Mall Curios, also known as Cholla Mall, is a shopper's paradise offering a wide range of souvenirs and unique items. Visitors can explore an array of decorative pieces, functional goods like beach apparel and sandals, and even have custom stained glass art created to their specifications. The vendors at the mall offer diverse merchandise with friendly service, allowing for a pleasant shopping experience.
It was a very pleasurable experience shopping here for Mexican handicrafts and souvenirs. The shopkeepers are very friendly without being pushy, and prices are reasonable.
Mrs ( — Google review
All of the shops have reasonable prices compared to swap meet prices back home. About 90% of items are marked up for American tourist, who like to haggle, (haggling is part of the foreign experience). The locals are very accommodating. I use a walker with a bench and wheels. As soon as I open my tailgate, someone always offers to help me take the walker off.

Love shopping here and make a point to do so everytime we are in town. Large selection of artisan items us lots of souvenir type items. Vendors do speak English as well as Spanish. Found a couple new places to get a cold drink but was shocked at the prices. Very high for what you get (ex. house margarita in plastic cup). Still enjoy the shops but will probably avoid the bars in the future.
Penny W — Google review
Many vendors had a variety of things as well as some of the same items throughout the different shops. Everyone was nice and not pushy. I LOVE the ceramic shop. So much color and so many different decorative and practical items. They had handles/knobs, cup and pitcher sets, planters, etc. My husband and I enjoyed waking around looking at Everything they had. We definitely plan to go back with s bigger vehicle so we can buy the things we want.

Better than the Malecon. Less crowded, less questionable characters and stuff. 😆 we found our favorite, go-to bracelet lady. She makes her own bracelets and even sized them to us right there. Took her 30 seconds.

This is what you would expect in a small Mexican town. The street vendors are different and unique. Much of the merchandise is the same yet they each offer a little something different. The trick is to find out what the difference is. Of course they will barter with you.
Shea M — Google review
Just the usual tat for sale just nice to get away from the town center without being bothered or have people sell you a public parking spot go here for your trinkets to take home you can kinda barter

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Puerto Penasco, The Reef RV Park is a haven for RV enthusiasts seeking spacious accommodations. With generous sites designed for larger rigs over 35 feet and equipped with robust 50-amp electrical hookups, this park ensures comfort and convenience. Each site averages an impressive 43 feet in length and 26 feet in width, providing ample space to relax.
As RV parks go. As beach campgrounds go. As a foreign country RV park goes for us. As an adult RV park goes. IT IS AWESOME!!! WRECKED AT THE REEF is an experience in its self. Great eats and even better beach drinks and live entertainment!! If you're brave enough to travel to Mexico to vacation I HIGHLY recommend it

This is a great place to camp in your RV. The park is right on the ocean at Rocky Point with many sites right next to the beach. We go with a group of RV's and convoy to the park, no issues traveling.

I live here in the area, and in the past, I have recommended people stay here, but not anymore. I was disgusted today how the security person treated and spoke to people. Terrible. I would not recommend staying at this RV park. There are other places to stay in the area.

Camping right on the beach! Only down fall was there were lots of jelly fish washed up on beach so be careful where you walk if your batefoot
Russell A — Google review
We tried staying here but the staff member on the campground was rude. We asked him general information like if there was restrooms available and he said that there’s no one to run them and clean them and if I knew of anyone who could work them. He looked really shady. We ended up not wanting to stay and stayed at playa Bonita RV park and loved it. We have 3 kids and were glad of the decision we made.
Kevin D — Google review
Okay, there is nothing “wrong” with the reef RV park. It has large spaces, hookups all worked. Trash dumpster is both small and remote. I did not explore the “convenience store”. Perfect keeping the price in mind. The bar next door is pet friendly, good food, and excellent service! The roads in are rough. Dirt. Where there is asphalt there some mean speed bumps with very little warning. Think you are going slow? Go slower! It is a bit far from town if you are planning on going into town. I was never concerned about my safety, but I also didn’t wander around the area drunk.
Bob W — Google review
This is a rv pack with full hooks. The park is nice if your not looking for high end. Spot are big and clean. There are no bathrooms or showers. The girl ( linda) in the office is very nice and helpful. Guards/maintenance guys are always friendly. Small convenience store at the office with an Italian restaurant in a bar within walking distance. Beach is nice. And depending on win you go it could be windy and could be hot. Ive been going to rocky point since i was a kid 60 + years. Note you are in Mexico so remember the laws speed and stop signs or it will cost you.

Juan C — Google review
During our recent trip to Puerto Peñasco, we had the pleasure of dining at Garufa Steakhouse, conveniently located within walking distance from our resort, Sonoran Spa. As a group of six adults, we decided to make a reservation, which proved to be a wise choice. Although the restaurant wasn’t overly busy when we arrived, it filled up as the evening progressed, so I would highly recommend reserving a table for larger groups. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and promptly seated. The ambiance was inviting, setting the stage for a pleasant dining experience. For our meals, my wife chose the Red Wine Tenderloin, while I opted for the Vacio flap steak. Both dishes exceeded our expectations! My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare—just how I like it—and my wife’s was cooked to a delightful medium, exactly as requested. We also enjoyed a side of asparagus, which was cooked perfectly, and my wife loved the Garufa salad, complementing her meal nicely. Our server, Yaya, was exceptional. She was attentive without being intrusive, checking in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Garufa Steakhouse is definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area, especially for those seeking a memorable dining experience. We always make it a tradition to have one special date night while letting our kids enjoy a pizza party, and Garufa certainly lived up to our expectations. I can’t wait to return on our next trip!

Within walking distance from Sonoran Spa (etc) in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. Food was cooked to perfection including the squid. Food was light on any seasoning especially shrimp. Service was PROFESSIONAL. Angel has done this for many years and was a trainer and it shows. He repeated our names throughout, giving a strong professional and personal feel. He is personable and very knowledgeable; a delight! Atmosphere was cozy but is also family friendly, given the location to nearby resorts. Price was a bit better than comparable US steakhouses and the portions are not small, neither are they huge. Worth it!

The venue boasts 14 high definition TVs along with indoor and outdoor projection screens for sports events. Live music by La Merca is featured every Friday and Saturday night.
I knew from youtubers and reviews that they had strictly bar food, and that was okay with me. It is located on the overall best sandy beach to snorkel with kids tho. A must stop if it’s your first time in Rocky Point. The Atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the service is great. The food is typical bar food but we felt like it was overpriced for what you got. We would still go back for some drinks and appetizers. Live music as the sun went down with the ocean waves crashing behind you was just perfect! They also have fun lawn games you can play and just hang out.

They were way in the weeds.. really neat location and very nice area to relax and enjoy life. Good live music outside and sports on TV's inside. The staff was really nice and very friendly, but they were way understaffed. The kitchen was backed up 45 to 60 minutes..

During my recent trip to Mexico, I had the pleasure of dining at an incredible oceanfront restaurant that truly delivered on every level. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxing, with the sound of waves crashing in the background and a breathtaking view of the ocean that made for the perfect setting. The food was absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was a hit, from the seafood to the local specialties. You could taste the care and authenticity in every bite. What really made the night special was the live music. The band was phenomenal, playing a mix of traditional and modern tunes that had the entire restaurant clapping and smiling. It added so much energy to the evening without overpowering the experience. The service was equally impressive. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. They made us feel welcome and taken care of without being overbearing. Between the amazing food, unforgettable music, excellent service, and stunning ocean views, this restaurant was easily one of the highlights of my trip. If you’re ever in Mexico and want a dining experience that blends culture, flavor, and atmosphere—this is the place to go!

Our room looked old and neglected. No hot water in the shower. Bed had a VERY hard mattress. Sofa cushions had no support. Cabinets had knobs that fell off in your hand. Also some cabinets had hinges that were broken. Way too many dated "decorations" and faded pillows throughout the rooms. No maid service. Not stocked with dishwasher pods, only soap provided was hand wash (no shampoo, body wash soaps, or hair creme rinse). Very limited toilet tissue. Towels were well worn and no face cloths. On the positive side the room had full ocean view. Multiple pools and great sandy beach. A nice little convenience store next to the lobby. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is an entrance security person 24/7. Also security people near the beach entrance and pools. Regarding pools they all appear to be family friendly with babies, toddlers, and older children allowed in all pools including the swim up bar which we found odd. Still love Rocky Point but was disappointed in our room.

The last time I visited this resort was 13 years ago, prior to July 2025. It seems that no maintenance or updates have been made during that time. Rosy's Restaurant, also known as Rosys and Kaffee Haus, is a local favorite in Puerto Penasco, having been in business for over two decades. The restaurant offers a great food selection at reasonable prices and is particularly praised for its delicious coffee. This is exactly like you expect a family owned mexican restaurant to be. Awesome food, hands down the best authentic breakfast in the area. The tortillas we amazing. CASH ONLY. So bring your wallet. Very affordable. I got the chorizo and was amazed on how good it was. Can't go wrong here.

Beware, serious health risk. We took a few bites of our lunch and got sick immediately. We almost had to seek medical care, it was scary. I reluctantly paid and left. Luckily we finally recovered after being symptomatic. We could not tell what was wrong with the food, everything smelled and tasted like there was something very strange going on. Well staffed but no one else eating. Seemed like a social hangout for locals but very rude to us.

This place is great! I don't know who it was saying that the owner wasn't kind, or that they were treated badly here. My guess is that these are patrons who act poorly and are surprised when they are treated how they deserve. The owner was fantastic, the food was really good. I had the chorizo omelette. I recommend the house potatoes. You do need cash, dollars or pesos. No credit cards. Thank you Rosy's!

I’ve visited Rosy's restaurant twice, and both experiences were fantastic. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and most importantly, the coffee is delicious! On my first visit, there was a bit of a wait, but the second there was no wait. But, both visits were definitely worth it. I spent $60 (USD) for a family of 4 and think they're priced well because of the generous portion sizes. I highly recommend Rosy's... 10/10! (also, it is very clean) Pictured is the Red Chile Chilaquiles with carne deshebrada (shredded beef) and beans.

This place was great when we came two years ago. It’s clearly gone downhill. The chilaquiles which we once loved are awful. The salsa has no flavor and you can tell it’s straight from a can. It was microwaved and the tortilla chips were completely mushy. We also waited more than 30 minutes to get someone to get us our bill.

Nestled along the vibrant El Malecón, Restaurante de Mariscos El Malecón is a must-visit gem in Puerto Peñasco. This charming eatery, elevated on stilts, offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of California and the lively promenade below. As you step inside, you're greeted by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures the essence of Rocky Point. The menu boasts a delightful array of hearty Mexican and American dishes alongside fresh seafood that will tantalize your taste buds.
There was no music which was the best part of our trip because a lot of the places had too much loud music. We ordered margarita with the local tequila which I absolutely love, it was strong. We also ordered the beef tacos and banana smoothie Our waiter Manuel was attentive and a great waiter. We had a great time. Thank you Manuel and Rico
Leanda W — Google review
A tourist trap!!! Beware. For those folks that gave it 5 stars reviews, lucky you! Maybe this is a place for seafood more than it is for breakfast. Our breakfast was the worst! I should have thought twice when they have their servers out on the street below like ravens trying to make you go into their restaurant. More than the breakfast we were trying to eat by the ocean with (hopefully) a good meal. Was never the case. Once the order was placed the food didn't take very long at all. But on initial inspection I had a feeling the food would be subpar of what I expected. Two plates. One was an omelet with beans and potatoes. I can't even remember what was in the omelet but to me it was some kind of mystery meat. The cheese was not the type you pour on an omelet either. There are much better cheeses than that. The beans were dry and bland and the potatoes were dry and flavorless. I had the feeling they were yesterday’s potatoes. The only good thing was the flour tortilla. The other plate was a chorizo with a fried egg. The chorizo had an artificial flavor to it. Maybe that was what gave it that color? Don't know. Perhaps the chorizo was a different regional type? Maybe. But they could have done better. Same as the other plate. The beans were on the dry side as with the potatoes which were completely flavorless. The egg and the flour tortilla were about the only good things for this dish. In all I was expecting a better meal. "Americas diner" (I don't want to say the name but you can figure it out) on a bad day serves a better breakfast and their quality hasn't been the best as of late. Lesson learned, avoid eateries in that area. You want some great food then go where the local go to. Avoid the tourist traps!!!

Disappointed with the food. Looks amazing but everything we ordered was pretty bland. The Shrimp tacos had no flavor! The ceviche was not good. The location had nice views but I feel that I overpaid for food I can find better elsewhere. Also we were seated in what was the hottest spot of the restaurant everywhere else was nice and fresh. Our drinks were served hot.The waiter gave us the wrong order of food and still charged us for it.

Service takes quite some time. Food is flavorless and sometimes might taste as if it was not on it's best condition (ex. Shrimp, meats). Honestly, restaurant next to it is definitely better quality.

Definitely disappointed. The view was great but that was about it. My wife and I wanted to get fresh mariscos so decided to stop at El Malecon. The service was below par, the waiter only stop by 3 times, to get the order, deliver the food, and to give us the check. He even took a plate away that still had food, we definitely felt rushed. The worse part is that the place was not even full, there were a lot tables available. Do not recommend.

Group of 4 had a pleasant waterfront lunch. Fresh guacamole with pico de gallo appetizer was delicious, as were the shrimp tacos gobernador. Cheeseburger with fries was a bit overcooked but ok. Coconut shrimp entree was tasty and the barbecue flavored wings with fries was excellent. Mai Tai's and Margaritas were also excellent, but beer selection was limited.

The BooBar Cantina is a lively establishment with swings that visitors adore. It offers live music, chilled beverages including a refreshing blue concoction, all reasonably priced. The ambiance is filled with positive vibes and has various seating arrangements on different levels. From one side of the bar, patrons can enjoy ocean views while the other side overlooks the main strip and neighboring bars across the street. If you find yourself in Rocky Point, this bar is definitely worth checking out.
Great place to enjoy the views, the guac, drinks, and food. Make sure to try the fried fish and the dessert. ALWAYS ask for Mauricio and make sure to leave him a nice tip! You can pay w/ usd and US card but tips are only in cash. Also ask for the watermelon shot and try a spin at the wheel!!

I’ve been here a (million) times. I can’t believe this is the first time I’m rating it. Ambiance is great. You’re going to pay American prices, but the food is good. Swings are fun, drinks are in a glass (instead of plastic). Company is good. We got the shrimp ceviche, so good, steak fajitas, and hot chicken wings with mango habanero sauce on the side. So good.

Absolutely LOVED everything about BooBar! From the swings at the bar to the ocean side views of the sunset you can’t go wrong stopping in for drinks or some great food. Our server Christian went far above and beyond our expectations and made sure our friend had an unforgettable birthday!! ***BooBar takes Credit/Debit cards and you can pay in USD or Pesos, however you CANNOT pay tips using your credit/debit card. All tips are CASH only so please make sure to bring some cash to tip your server/bartender for their hard work.*** We loved the atmosphere and service so much we came back the following day before heading back home to Phoenix. BooBar has now become our go to place to get great food and drinks, meet amazing people and enjoy beautiful sunsets every time we come Rocky Point!

Fun and FAMILY FRIENDLY. Imagine a Mexican Chick Fil A - it has a huge indoor play structure for the kids while the adults eat. Beautiful views of the ocean. Delicious food - love anything with shrimp and the guacamole - great Happy Hour and helpful staff who speak English. New favorite.

For a small bar we had a great time. The music was playing and we were singing and dancing. The tacos were good the drinks were flowing and the views were amazing.

Went for my birthday June 22nd got some beers wings and fries which were delicious but when we wanted to pay I wanted to pay with my card and they said you don’t have cash and I did I gave $700 on a $510 tab. And the server gave back $90 pesos. Good thing we counted we still gave a tip dispite that action but what I didn’t like is feeling like they are stealing. Very disappointing the good thing is that we noticed. Just be careful when paying cash.

Headed to Boo Bar today with two adults and two teens to watch USA soccer. We had a blast. Christian was our server and he was amazing. What a great guy! Entire staff was friendly and welcoming. We had Guac, chips and salsa and sliders. Everything tasted fresh. We enjoyed the cool air and cheap cold beers. We will definitely be back. We were there during daytime hours so it was totally appropriate for two 15 year old girls. We would probably choose not to take them late night but sounds like a blast if we were alone!

El Oktopus Restaurant Bar is a popular spot known for its great food, refreshing drinks, and relaxed tropical atmosphere. The restaurant offers ample seating for families and friends to unwind by the beach, with options on the first floor or the bustling terrace. The large palapa-style thatched roof and open-air spaces provide a perfect setting to savor fresh seafood and cold beverages while enjoying the sea breeze.
Amazing octopus sushi and tacos !!! So good. I wish I had more room to order another! Even if you think you might not like octopus I would try something with it!!! Tender. Great huge drinks made with filtered ice while viewing the street and water.

Love. Love. Love. I had a great time on vacation and this place was beautiful. The fact that it was right by the ocean, and you could sit upstairs (outside) to catch the views, was perfect on a sunny day. The wait staff was very hospitable and light hearted. A couple of them joined right in with our group in having a bit of fun. The interior was well put together. The food was portioned properly. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for kids so much due to the type of food that’s on the menu, but if they’re open to trying something other than nuggets, they might be just fine.

Now my favorite place to eat in Rocky Point. If you like seafood, this is the place for you. Fine dining for not much more than you pay for regular, Mexican food. The flavors, the presentation, the freshness, I just can’t go on enough about how amazing this food was. The combination of flavors was truly incredible. Try the pork jowl and octopus tacos on the blue tortilla and the combination plate with fish and shrimp and octopus on a rice. Pilaf was just delectable.
Fiona R — Google review
I liked that it was mostly mariscos (seafood) but they had alternative dishes so that my non-seafood loving toddler could eat. They have chicken strips that were juicy and the breading was crunchy. I had the breaded shrimp and that was also good albeit a smaller portion than any of the other plates. My hubby had the aguachiles which he claimed was sooo good. He did have to ask for spicy as they mostly cater to their American public. The guy rooftop views are an added plus

Restaurant
The Blue Marlin is a renowned seafood restaurant located in Puerto Penasco, close to the vibrant Old Port. It offers a cozy and pleasant atmosphere with exceptional staff service. This family-friendly establishment has become a favorite among tourists due to its diverse menu and welcoming ambiance. The restaurant has been serving delicious seafood since 1995 and is known for its fantastic coconut shrimp served in a coconut shell.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! The host Homero was welcoming and accommodating and prepared our fresh caught grouper in five different ways. They all were excellent. The intimate atmosphere added to our enjoyment. The drinks were outstanding too. This is probably the best meal in Puerto Peñasco! Highly recommended

A wonderful hidden gem. The food was amazing. The ambience was superb. The wait staff was wonderful. The owner was present to inspect an offer suggestions. Highly recommend the drinks were amazing especially the Cadillac margaritas. We spend the month of April here each year and we will be returning before we leave this year.❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My dining experience at Blue Marlin in Puerto Peñasco was absolutely outstanding! We indulged in the Carlos V shrimp, wrapped in bacon, and they were divine! Perfectly sized and bursting with delightful flavors, especially when paired with the pineapple glaze. The coconut shrimp was equally impressive, with a creamy sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. And let's not forget about the chipotle shrimp, boasting a sensational BBQ chipotle sauce that struck the perfect balance of smoky and spicy flavors. Every bite was a culinary delight, and I can't wait to return for my more exquisite seafood creations at Blue Marlin! But what truly sets Blue Marlin apart is the exceptional service. From the owner's heartfelt greeting of "welcome home" to the attentive waiter who ensured our comfort throughout the meal, every moment was infused with care and attention. When we realized tips were cash-only, the owner's understanding and graciousness shone through. Despite our insistence on going to the ATM, they insisted on our comfort and even offered to let us tip next time. Blue Marlin isn't just a restaurant—it's a place where you're embraced with love and where exceptional service is the norm. Do yourself a favor and show this place some love; you'll undoubtedly receive it back tenfold. Can't wait to come home to Blue Marlin again soon!

Amazing service, very accommodating for our party of 15; and had delicious food. Plus the margaritas were strong, what more do you need!

Absolutely love this place. Each time we come we are greeted with “welcome home” and it truly feels that way. From the delicious food, to the attentive staff, and the wonderful prices, this place checks all the boxes. The owner even personally comes to greet you when he’s there. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

The Blue Marlin is mainly a shrimp joint. The venue, small, quaint, cozy. I had the Coconut shrimp. It tasted a bit sweet for my palette. My sweet angel daughter thought the same. The shrimp huge! The texture cooked to perfection! The shrimp quesadilla received two really goods. One from the italiana in Mexico and one from my other sweet angel daughter. The chipotle shrimp received a confident tastes good from my State 48 Tortoise loving son in law. The flounder eater in the group, my evil cowboy son in law said it was an eight. The ceviche loved by all at the table. Big hit. They gave us sourdough bread with garlic butter. A solid yum from all the family. We also had fried calamari. This, served with the ceviche and was a very distant second. The said, “it could be better”. Not a group hit. Still, check it out. It’s worth it if you want shrimp. The servers were super professional and took care of all we needed. I would return based on these solid men alone. The owner checked up on us. That was appreciated mucho! The cowboy asked the question that begs being asked: “how can a restaurant called the Blue Marlin not serve marlin? I just wanted marlin tacos.”
Kip — Google review
This place had some of the best food I've had in a while. The chips and salsa were great but the magical garlic green sauce was dangerously addicting. I poured it on everything I ate. The staff was professional and the outdoor seating is nice. The food came out pretty quickly and everything had a nice artistic touch to it. I highly recommend The Blue Marlin for anyone in the area.

Boat tour agency
Del Mar Charters is one of the many companies offering parasailing services in Rocky Point. Aside from that, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy under the sunny Sonoran skies, so it's wise to plan ahead. Del Mar Charters also provides a sunset cruise on their 42-foot catamaran departing from Puerto Penasco. For a fee of $35, guests can indulge in an open margarita bar while taking in the stunning scenery.
Captain Oscar and Paulette are fantastic! We went on our first sunset cruise for our 20th anniversary in 2021. It was so fun that we brought our son for his 18th birthday. We spent time cruising out, then stopped for a swim before turning around to see the beautiful Mexican sunset. This will definitely be our family tradition. Margaritas, beer, and water with a snack are included in the price.

Incredible!!! Boat tour to bird island- they let us park right in front of their office which was super convenient Our group of 9 was on a smaller boat which I defintely prefer over the bigger tour boats- We saw hundreds of dolphins, a half a dozen whales, including one that jumped out of the water right in front of our boat!!! Trip of a lifetime.. Bird island was super fun too- we kayaked and swam with the sea lions up close. Yummy burrito and a great variety of drinks. Our captain was so great- super good at finding us dolphins and whales and teaching us about them.. We will definitely be back! Thank you Del Mar!
Michael H — Google review
We had the best time with Delmar Charters in Rocky Point. We had a 1/2 day fishing and caught over 30 fish. We went to bird island the next day and swam with sea lions. A pod of dolphins followed our boat going out and coming back. Everyone on their staff was great. Our boat captains were amazing. It made our trip. Check them out!
Michael R — Google review
Both our Sunset and Bird Island cruises were cancelled due to boat mechanical problems. We actually set out to Bird Island and had to turn back which the kids were very disappointed about and leaving us with no plans. Not surprised as the boat we were on had seen better days...On the bright side, we got to keep the lunch Burritos. If you do book, don't get your hopes up and make sure to have a back up plan.
Felderi S — Google review
Excellent experience. As a solo woman, I was very concerned about my safety, but I felt safe joining in on the sunset cruise. If the street was full for parking, there was a lot directly across the street that was $5 to park, and the boat was just around the corner. There were a couple of other groups that had reserved, so I was able to tag along. The captain and crew were very friendly, would joke around with us, and were amazingly caring (they went above and beyond for an elderly couple on the boat). The boat was in great condition, and being able to get off the boat and swim in the middle was the feather in the cap. This was everything I had hoped for, and more.
Allison M — Google review
All I can say about the Sunset cruise, is that it was way beyond my expectations!!! Captain Oscar, Checo and Paulette made us feel like we were family and we had known them for years!! My family and I had an amazing time and would highly recommend!!
Jerry K — Google review
Oh my goodness!!!! What an AMAZING experience! Oscar and Checo were so cool! The both of them still took my family of 4 out, even though the other group cancelled! Talk about kind down to earth people! So awesome of them!!! Even though we know they didn’t really benefit money wise taking only 4 people out. We had a beautiful sunset cruise with the 2 of them, very amazing, kind, fun and funny. Oscar even spent extra time with my 8year old who was scared and calmed him! Within minutes my 8 year old was going from one end to the other on that boat! Thank you Oscar and Checco!!!! -Kyle, Nikki, Kyden and Jezzilin

Nestled along the picturesque malecon, Pedro's Restaurante is a delightful culinary surprise waiting to be discovered. Initially, you might overlook it as you wander by, but trust me—this hidden gem is worth seeking out! After an unexpected closure at another spot led us here, we were treated to some of the best food of our trip. The owner’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home, and we couldn't resist indulging in their strong margaritas alongside fresh homemade chips and salsa.
We were actually attempting to go to a different restaurant, but it was unexpectedly closed when we arrived. Pedro saw us and beckoned us towards his restaurant, which was out of sight, and we reluctantly agreed since we were hungry. It ended up being some of the best food we had the entire trip! The owner was very hospitable, the margheritas were great (and strong), and the food was phenomenal. We will absolutely be coming back here next time we're in town. Do yourself a favor and give them a shot.
Erich C — Google review
Amazing food, service and hospitality. We have lunch here 2 days in a row and the food is the best! From Arizona, we wanted to find a place that was true Mexican food and this is that place. Nothing but the best.
Jenn M — Google review
Food was fresh and fantastic! Starting with the homemade chips and salsa, fresh guacamole, great margaritas! The beef tacos were great and the garlic fish to die for. At the outset of our dining experience we had a couple vendors swing in to try to sell us sweets/empanadas/music, but after that it quieted down and we enjoyed a great lunch with no interruptions and fantastic food (we did buy some dessert empanadas, will try later). Definitely recommend!

The place is small but it has a great chef, excellent service and awesome food, will definitely eat here on my next trip. We had the fish tacos and mango salad...finger liking good!

We went to Puerto Penasco for a long weekend and ended up eating at Pedro's twice. We enjoyed the wonderful coconut shrimp and the excellent service. The pricing seemed fair for the area. Pedro the chef even helped us purchase some local seafood to take home! We left Pedros completely satisfied and strongly recommend the place.

Tera S — Google review
3 stars because the food was good but the service was awful. An old man complain about the tip we gave him. He stood there while I was taking $10 bill out of my wallet and said that he wanted more. Our bill was like $60. I felt very uncomfortable, I won’t be back here.
Alexandra K — Google review
If you are looking for great ceviche, this is your place! A great little restaurant in the heart of the Malecon. Super small (maybe 6 tables?), has strong drinks, a great view of the water, and good food. We ordered shrimp ceviche, fish ceviche, and mixed ceviche. All were some of the best ceviches I have ever had! The mango salad was AMAZING! The shrimp tacos were good but I felt like they needed a sauce or some additional seasoning. But the tacos had large shrimp loaded in them so that was a plus! Prices were ok. A group of 6 (kids and adults) with meals, sodas, water, and a cocktail was just over $100 (US). If I was down at the Malecon, I'd go back for the ceviche for sure!

Asadero Viva México is a must-visit taqueria in Puerto Peñasco, renowned for its authentic Mexico City-style tacos that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While the ambiance may not offer scenic views, the focus here is on exceptional food and service. Diners can even bring their own beer to enhance their meal!
This is still my favorite taco spot in Puerto Penasco. I have been coming here for 16 years and it's always been good. I've had many tacos in town and this is still my favorite by far. The tacos have so much flavor and the toppings are fresh. Excellent service and they have seating upstairs and a newer enclosed AC area. Highly recommend you try this place out!

Just discovered this place on our last trip down, and I gotta say I wish we had come here many years ago! The food, is absolutely fantastic, this is the kind of place you look for, that locals know about and tourists dream of. Total street food, quality, delicious and at rock bottom prices. We will be regulars and we come down monthly, and I cannot wait to get back here! The margaritas are even special, this entire establishment is something you write home about to mention how memorable the food is! Muy Bien Asadero!
Patrick D — Google review
Looking at the reviews I was super excited to try this place. Maybe I am bias but the taco al pastor is my favorite taco. There is something magical about thinly sliced marinated pork on a vertical spit roasted over flame. My first issue with the pork is it was haphazardly cut with a dull knife and the bigger chunks were excessively chewy. Thin slices are perfect for the fatty pieces because pork needs fat! Not a deal breaker this would have been 5 stars up to this point. My biggest issue is buying almost 2 pounds of meat the condiments were dis-portionate. One and a half limes for this much meat. The shredded cabbage, pico, and cilantro barely covered 7 tacos, we still have 33 more to go. Minus the 20 tortillas they shorted us it was still not enough. Now we are down to 4 stars. Lastly the flavor was lacking. Maybe it is a geographical thing; dunno. What I do know is the tacos @ Rana's in Nogales taste pretty close to the ones @ Delicias in Acapulco 3,500 miles away. This was a boring taco. Maybe I should have got the chicken or carne, but chicken is usually overcooked for tacos. However, next time I will try something else and amend my review if needed.

Bomb tacos, tasty vampiros served with a great variety of salsas. Delicious & finger-licking good! Service was fast, friendly, and excellent.
Judith J — Google review
Great food and friendly staff. Went here for lunch. Everything was very flavorful. Only complaint is the Americanized pricing. As a regular visitor and owning a house down here, I know that usually in town, can eat lunch for 2 people for less than $20. Oftentimes, $15. Lunch for 2 was $35 plus tip. A little high and the only thing preventing 5 stars.
Nicole P — Google review
Absolutely loved the tacos here. Best so far from our trip. We ordered the al pastor on corn tortilla and shrimp on flour and both were amazing. Not to mention the amazing toppings we got! Cilantro, onion, cabbage, cucumber and more! The chips and salsa were Also to die for. So much crispy and tasty with salsa ranchero, picante, and guacamole
