Urangan Pier, located in Queensland's Fraser Coast, is a historic and iconic attraction. Built in 1999 to commemorate Captain Matthew Flinders' first contact with Fraser Island, the pier was once used for cargo transfer but is now popular for fishing and offering scenic views. Stretching almost one kilometer into the ocean, it provides spectacular vistas of Hervey Bay and opportunities to spot marine life such as dolphins, stingrays, and schools of fish.
Wonderful wooden pier, real hot spot for fishing especially in the late afternoon. Has rod holsters and filleting station. Amazing place to come and watch the sunset. Couple of hundred metres walk to the end. Amazing to come here and see the difference in tide times. On low tide half the pier is above sandbank which is also really nice to walk and look for hermit crabs. Quite windy though so bring a jumper if you are coming for sunset
Sam S — Google review
It was a great walk, but unfortunately, no dogs allowed. So my husband and I had to do the walking separately. The views to Fraser Island and the surrounding beaches were nice.

Travelling Aussies 🇦🇺 The Urangan Pier is a wonderful asset to visitors and the locals of Hervey Bay Stretching almost 870m into the bay from the Urangan foreshore, it’s a great vantage point and relaxing walk There’s usually plenty of parking, while you’ll enjoy the famous Pier Markets on Wednesday & Saturday mornings Often, visitors will see dolphins, turtles, stingrays, a family of ospreys and other wildlife from the Pier A number of outstanding local cafes & restaurants are also situated nearby, and the Pier is a great way to walk off a delicious meal or enjoy a hot coffee
Jaimes P — Google review
A great place for a walk, if you are a fisherman the last 30 mtrs of the pier is in deep water and pelagic fish are commonly caught. On Sundays there are markets, coffee shops etc. Well worth a visit.
Ray L — Google review
A beautiful sunset on low tide and a walk along the pier, what a great way to get out of the house on a Sunday afternoon. Not too busy and lots of shells to see over the sides from the low tide. Great memories made with a view
Island D — Google review
Best pier ever in QLD, wonderful views. Will not regret for few hours drive.
Zhang小新 — Google review
Beautiful walk along the 1.1 kilometer length. Great views. Coming off the end of the Wednesday market avenue was a nice touch. Great location and easy walk.
Kerri V — Google review
Very busy place in the mornings with plenty of people arriving in groups to the bay for all the day trips it offers. Nearly all the excursions are whale watching. Plenty or restaurants/shops etc in the complex.

Aquariums
Reef World Aquarium is a family-friendly and natural attraction located on the foreshores of Urangan in Hervey Bay. Unlike commercialized aquariums, it offers an organic experience with its use of sand-filtered seawater and natural sunlight. Visitors can observe a variety of marine life including sharks, green sea turtles, reed fish, and crabs. The aquarium also provides opportunities to swim with sharks and feed the turtles during specific times.
My family had a fantastic experience at Reef World Aquarium 🤩 certainly the highlight is of course the resident green sea turtles that you can pat and feed. But there's many other fantastical underwater creatures to explore including a touch tank with starfish. The staff are friendly and informative 👍 great experience for the whole family. Thanks Reef World.
Chrissy P — Google review
It is great to support local community but to be honest for 22$/Adult is too much considering the place is very small. Approximately the size of a one bed room apartment and not much to see. The highlight of the place is the turtle and their feeding. My opinion 15$ per adult is more reasonable. We were 4 adults and 1 kid, end up pay 100$ However the staff were friendly and kind.
Thapanee K — Google review
We visited here 2 days ago. We bought our 5 yr old grandaughter as well. She loved feeding the turtles and patting them so did I being a turtle lover. The feeding times were great watching them take a lettuce leaf from your hand. 🐢🥬 we strolled around to see other aquaium fish after feeding the turtles. We also had lunch next door in the restaurant. The staff were informative and knew their business.
Helen R — Google review
A cute little spot to visit with younger kids. It’s worth stopping in for a short visit — you can see everything in about 30 minutes, so it’s great if you’re not looking to spend a whole day out. However, the ticket prices aren’t worth it. At $22 per adult, it feels overpriced for what’s on offer. Definitely something the venue should review.
Kat W — Google review
Fantastic experience! The tanks here are absolutely awesome — crystal clear and full of beautiful marine life. You can get really close to everything, and the variety is impressive for a small local aquarium. The highlight for me was feeding the turtles — such a fun and unique experience! The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly care a lot about the animals. A great stop for all ages — you learn, laugh, and leave smiling. Highly recommend! 🐢🐠💙
Carina P — Google review
Not a big place but a fabulous place to visit. Surprise bonus was seeing the turtles and being able to touch and feed them. The restaurant next door was also a great place to have breakfast and if you dine there you will get a discount on the aquarium tickets.
Merrily W — Google review
Nice aquarium with a lot of natural habitats put together carefully in the seawater tanks they have on site. There's 3 sea turtles that are permanently in holding at the aquarium.

My husband and I (in our 60's) thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Reef World. Very friendly service and any questions were answered. For a family owned business since 1979, it's a treasure. So interesting to see the tropical fish, corals in a naturaly lit &l sea water environment. Lovely presentation, quality not quantity! Maddie did a great feeding turtle presentation outside. Good value and includes all day return entry. Coffee & scones were delicious in cafe too! A very family friendly attraction.

Tapas restaurant
The Dock in Hervey Bay, situated at the stylish Urangan Harbour, offers a modern selection of tapas dishes and an impressive wine menu. The restaurant is known for its vegan options and even has special crew nights for those working in the whalewatching industry every Wednesday.
The service is great, the location is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. The food was really good and I know it’s tapas but some of the prices were a bit on the nose for the portions provided.

The Dock Hervey Bay offers a great waterfront dining experience with a lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and a solid selection of tapas-style dishes. The food is flavorful, and the cocktail menu is well-curated. While the portions can be small for the price, the overall vibe and service make it a worthwhile spot for a relaxed meal or drinks by the marina. Ideal for casual gatherings, but those with dietary restrictions should check the menu in advance
Rafael N — Google review
Overall a really nice dinner, tapas means small plates. Yes the plates are small but the portions were large for some of the dishes so you have to order quite a lot. if you want a good dinner which all adds up, two adults and one child a couple of cocktails $160.

For our first time dining here 28th September 2025 on recommendation, we had a table of 6, we were told only 2 sliders left upon ordering our food, our booking was 630pm, last 2 sliders were bought out on mini toast, shocked as we were expecting slider buns. The arancini was delicious, hoping there was more choices of arancini available, but they were very delicious Scallops kilpatrick i didnt like needs improving, scallops weren't seared tasted like theyre microwaved, duck cigars my son enjoyed, fish tacos were a hit at our table. Lemon lime bitters was made exactly how I was hoping, im not a hervey bay resident so I was expecting alot from this place, seems the waiters dont really communicate well with each other either.

Sept 2025 - 10 Stars Each time we return we are gifted with warm welcomes, great service, smile and top notch plates. If you are in the area, book a table and try their tapes plates, you will love it. Xmas Eve 2023 - 5 Stars Got some photos this time! 😊 What an outstanding restaurant. The food is like they have Gordon Ramsay locked up in the kitchen. Every dish was impeccable! The service staff are amazing, all smiling and it is a testament to the owners, who also have a great sense of humour. Phoebe looked after our table and was all smiles. Sorry I offered a taste of the Squealing Pig Rose' as she was not 18 yet. We were the last table of the day and were made so welcome. Merry Xmas The Dock team and see you in the New Year August 2023 - 5 Stars Why I didn't take a photo of the stunning dishes served has me wanting to return asap to capture the stunning work the chefs here do. Servings were perfect for four of us as each plate had four pieces. The waitress guided us through the menu, so we had about 11 plates! Each dish was so tasty. The prawns were plump and cooked perfectly. The location is relaxing, overlooking the Marina. Parking was a little hard to secure a spot on the weekend with all the whale watching tours underway. Make sure you book a table and enjoy the hospitality

Gutted. Was really exited to try this place after reading the reviews. Was our last night touring Queensland before heading home and we were looking forward to a bit of luxury. We ordered the Italian dock plate, the pork and fennel meatballs, a signature cocktail and a Prosecco. The Italian plate looked quite impressive at first glance with a lot of food for the price but unfortunately it lacked anything in the way of flavour. The only thing on the plate that wasn’t a budget store bought item was the roasted cherry tomatoes and the were unseasoned in any way and very bland. Also, what are corn chips doing on an Italian board? Very confusing. We left over half the food. The pork and fennel meatballs were lacking on the fennel and quite dry, they did come with a lemon mustard sauce on the side but that was overpowering and made them worse. Again, we left half of them uneaten. The cocktail was a take on a pina colada and sounded great because t was ridiculously sweet and even though I’m a real sweet tooth, I found it unpleasant. The Prosecco was good though. When I paid for the meal, I was not asked how we liked it. I would have happily shared this feedback in person if asked. Simple mistakes here that would take much to fix. Better quality ingredients with some seasoning would improve everything dramatically not to mention tasting food and drinks before sending out.

Located in the town of Hervey Bay, the Hervey Bay Boat Club offers a unique experience with its hospitality and tourism facilities. The club provides a relaxed bistro atmosphere serving pub grub and seafood, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors. With spacious, kid-friendly venues and outdoor seating overlooking the marina, guests can enjoy quality dining options while taking in the amazing view. Additionally, the club features free live entertainment, bars, and a kids room for families to enjoy.
This is a fabulous club. Both dining options are great, but we especially love the evening options in the restaurant. The lamb ragu is absolutely delicious, as is the roast beef & chicken schnitzel. Even when busy service for both food & drinks is quick & friendly. During summer, you can sit outside or grab an inside table & look out over the marina. Parking is also plentiful.

Wow, what a great experience. The team are welcoming, knowledgeable and very friendly. No job or question was to much. I even had the opportunity to meet the Captain in the bridge and he shared heaps of his knowledge. This tour and family run business is priced competitive and well worth the cost for a lifetime of memories. Highly recommended and very appreciative of the customer experience we had. Last but not least, plenty of whales to see and appreciate.

Yesterday evening we had dinner at the Boat Club. It was great. The sea food platter was enormous! Very tasteful and also the Parma and one of the day specials: barramundi Pie was good too. It was also very good that all our food (4 adults and 2 kids) arrived at the same time at the table. Thank you Boat Club for this !

After an amazing morning out whale watching, we enjoyed a lovely lunch using our 10% off voucher. There were great budget items (the chicken and Camembert pie with fries $12, delicious!) right up to the steak options ($40+). The restaurant was buzzing but there were multiple staff to manage everything. We also enjoyed drinks from the bar. Two thumbs up to the Virgin Mojito and the Aperol Spritz

An outstanding club option in Hervey Bay, featuring a great bistro, large cafe, waterfront deck, cinema, function rooms, tourist catamaran, TAB and pokies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ There’s plenty of off-street parking with easy level access right to the front door Staff are friendly & helpful, food is fresh & well presented and the club facilities are modern & clean 👍 A great place to showcase the beautiful marina and local produce in a friendly, well located venue ❤️

The nearby carpark is a short walk to the Boat Club. The ambience inside the Club is warm and welcoming. The decor inside is modern and fresh. There is a lovely inside restaurant, a smaller cafe eating area, and plenty of tables and chairs outside on the verandah, all with views of the boats in the marina. They have live music, trivia and raffles, several bars, and a gaming lounge. There's even a movie cinema upstairs! The Boat Club is well worth a visit as it has something for everyone!
Kim W — Google review
We were initially impressed when we arrived — the views were beautiful and the beers were perfect for a warm day. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. We decided to order the calamari and chips, which came out in less than five minutes — a red flag straight away. There was no sauce, and while the serving size was huge, it was clear why: the calamari was cheap, heavily crumbed, and tasted like it came straight from the freezer. The salad was the only decent part, though it was drenched in dressing just to make the meal edible. We even tried adding some aioli, but it was thin and watery with barely a hint of garlic. Overall, it was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. Such a shame, because the place had potential — but we definitely won’t be back.

Visitors can marvel at the Orchid House's impressive collection of over 20,000 orchids and explore the enchanting Bush Chapel, a popular venue for weddings.

🌺 Wow! 🤩 The Orchid House at the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens was absolutely spectacular. I wasn’t expecting to see so many orchids in bloom this time of year —all lovingly cared for by dedicated volunteers. My family thoroughly enjoyed exploring the whole gardens. Including a rainforest walk, labyrinth and gorgeous Chinese inspired garden.

Lovely oasis in Hervey Bay Check out the citters Park for the little peeps, the Chinese garden, the labyrinth (although it was made for leprechauns!!!) , The Orchid house, the pond with thousands of turtles that swim up to you! And across the road is the pie and pastry shop with yummy treats for everyone and good coffee

Nice spot to wander around and fill in 45 minutes. Chinese garden is quite a nice feature however would be good if the water feature was actually full. The lake with the turtles probably needs cleaning out and a few turtles removed, could also do with a few more plant identification placards around the place. Good spot to let little kids run around and burn off some energy. But would I go again probably not, would I recommend. Im 50/50 going by the comments some people really enjoy it.

We had lunch here last week after we visited the turtles and aquarium on the other side. We sat out the back near the water on the verandah. The staff were tentative to take our order we were told it would take around 20 mins which we didnt mind. We did order a entre to start us off. They bought out my 5 yr old grandauggters meal fairly quickly that kept her busy eating our entre arrived 15 mins later and thats where it stopped. Other people came and sat down as it was the lunch time period. 40 mins past and no main meal. We watched people who sat after us around 10 mins after us get their meals. We had to eventually ask about our meals. The waiter went and asked and came back to tell us that there was a bit of a mix up and our meal will come out very shortly. We werent impressed due to the pricing of tbe meals. Ten miniutes later we finally got our meals. The photos show that there wasnt a huge crowd so it wasnt majorly busy for a lunch sitting. We were not impressed. Thats why its a 3 out of 5. The food again wasnt to impressed.

My friend and I are visiting from Brisbane and stopped in for lunch today. The food was delicious and the location is just perfect! Despite the cafe getting busy, the staff were happy and attentive and our food arrived promptly, served with a smile. My Thai beef salad was one of the best I've had for ages and I didn't have to play 'find the meat'. The beef was seared to perfection and the salad was seasoned correctly and well balanced. Well done team and thank you for an excellent meal.

Even over the misty water, cold enough to give guests a blanket, my husband orders ice cold Stoney beers, and loving every minute because I'm the stone cold sober driver. You don't get closer than this spot to see clear water sandy ocean, fish jumping, and sea birds flying through. Service was impeccable and prices pretty good considering the position and entertainment from watching boats leave and return from K'gari. We gave this restaurant 5 star because, the oysters in bacon sauces and scallops in garlic butter and Barra was caught fresh, probably 10 minutes before we sat down.

We had lunch at this fabulous restaurant on a Thursday. We were accommodated without a booking. The young waitress was a delight and nothing was too much trouble. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. We had the shared seafood platter and while not the cheapest item on the menu, it was excellent value for money. We had a waterfront view into the bargain. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Cafe Balaena is a seafood restaurant in Urangan, Hervey Bay, Queensland that serves Australian dishes and vegetarian options. They have gluten-free options and offer vegan and meat-free breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. The pancakes are excellent and the service is friendly and efficient.
Pleasantly surprised with this underrated Asian fusion gem... When traveling, I am reliant on Google reviews for my dining reservations. The mixed ratings at this restaurant were a concern which took us to a much higher rated restaurant on our first night, but the food and service there wasn't to our liking. Compared to several other restaurants we have dined at, we found the prices of food and even more so, wines by the bottle to be very good. On our first visit, we shared the scallop starter, I had the lamb shank and my wife the prawn pasta. We were instructed on the proper way to eat the scallops and they were excellent! The lamb was mostly traditional, but a little Vietnamese twist which I thoroughly enjoyed. The prawn pasta was good, but maybe a bit too integrated, if that makes sense. On our second visit it was Sunday / Asian night and we shared the tofu starter salad (amazing!!!) and I had the Bay Bug and Shrimp dinner and my wife had the lemongrass chicken. Portions were generous and the BB /Shrimp was excellent flavours. We both felt that the chicken could use a little more lemongrass highlights and similiar to the previous pasta, less integration / more individual flavours. Staff were friendly and helpful. And the menu is a good mix that provides enough options for a diverse group, without being overwhelming. Highly recommend as the best of our dining experiences in this area. The lamb shank picture was taken after I started but had been very nicely presented.

Stopped by for dinner and it hit the spot! The food was super tasty—warm, fresh, and full of flavor. Staff were really friendly and made the whole experience easy and relaxed. Service was quick, and the vibe of the place was just right for a casual evening out. Can’t wait to come back!

One of the prawns in my dish was raw (picture for reference). I spit it out and stopped eating as it is unsafe. When I informed the staff, they reluctantly offered a 10% discount and no apologies. It’s not like finding raw vegetables that you can set aside and continue eating I risked getting sick and ruining my trip, and still had to pay for the dish I couldn’t eat. They lack of basic hospitality and work ethics. The dish also did not contain any anchovies as stated on the menu and the flavor was nothing special. Don’t risk it.

We got there at 5.30pm had a drink told the waitress we will have a drink then order people turned up waited an hour while everyone got served around us no one ask if we are ok so paid for drinks even though we shouldn't of and left went and had dinner elsewhere. I will say the young girl who served us at first was lovely but this was definitely not her fault as there was another guy serving and taking orders just not ours! Oh don't book a table not needed as it wasn't booked and I can see why!
Renee — Google review
Awesome views. The chicken starter is amazing. The lamb shank was good. The pork also good. Prices are on the higher side which is fine as long as you're getting quality. Unfortunately the king prawn dish is a totally over priced dish. 4 small prawns and 2 pieces of bread for $34. No rice or other items. Sold as a main but is a really small starter and the price is too high, prawns werent even big. They could bulk up their plates with some extra starch which isn't going to cost them much but make their prices more reasonable. Sticky date was good. Cake was on the drier side but was nice with the cream and ice cream.

I rarely write negative reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience here. From the moment we arrived, the service was disappointing. When we asked for a menu, the staff were incredibly rude, and things only got worse from there. The new staff member had no clue what was in the dish we asked about, so when we politely asked if she could find out, she seemed visibly annoyed at having to do her job. To make matters worse, we were told that they weren't taking any more hot drink orders because they were "too busy." We were eventually served, but the drinks were practically shoved onto the table with no care at all. When our food came out, it was wrong. We had to point out the mistake and show them the menu to get it corrected. The two women working seemed rough around the edges, and the younger one had an attitude that made the whole experience feel uncomfortable. Eventually, we asked for our money back and left, which was the only positive outcome of the visit. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for good service or a pleasant dining experience. Obviously changed hands from a few years ago, which is so sad. To clarify, I did not call your staff "slack" — that would imply they were doing a job. No apologies were given during the interaction. It was far from busy at the time, and I observed three other people walk away due to the rudeness from the staff. I want to be clear that I have respect for everyone working, especially in customer-facing roles. However, your team clearly requires further training in both communication and customer service. Their tone and delivery were unacceptable and did not reflect the basic standards one would expect in this setting. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and addressed appropriately.

Looking for a delicious LOBSTER in town? Come here. It is the best. We did have to pre order a couple of days before. All dishes were sensational. Had to go back the next day for more. Staff try, but are just a bit slow and green 💚 One member by the name of Ruby, was outstanding. All very sweet and well mannered though. Looking out on the water with all the luxurious yachts and blue skies was dreamily relaxing.

Welcome to Whale Bay Asian Cuisine, a restaurant known for its fantastic seafood dishes and Thai and Malaysian cuisine. Serving lunch, dinner and drinks, the restaurant is located in The Marina in Hervey Bay and is perfect for those looking for a delicious meal. Featuring highchairs, wheelchair access and free off-street parking, this asian eatery is perfect for any occasion.
I want to commend the staff at Truly Asia in Urangan. Last night we had my husbands early birthday at Truly Asia, they got absolutely smash, with every table booked. We were a group of 18 last night and they handled it like champs. The young kids working Nathaniel and Vincent were amazing for their ages, 14 year olds and they were the most polite, well mannered, most helpful kids I have been served by, especially for their age. Also a shout out to Madi (waitress) for her awesome help. The whole night just so much more perfect for the awesome staff…. I take my hat off to you all for awesome customer service. It would have to be the best in the wide bay by far. Management you have an awesome team, well done. Sorry no photos of the good… it was so good we all ate it all before thinking about photos.

Had booked a table on line but arrived about 1/2 hour early which was no problem. We were seated quickly and given water and menus. Ordered drinks which came to our table extremely quickly. We ordered our food and didn’t have to wait long for that either. The food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend. We were a bit disappointed that you could only get prawn toast if you paid for a banquet. Otherwise it was a good night and we were in and out pretty quickly.

The food is average . We loved the special fried rice , the chicken and cashew was also great. Honey chicken was highly rated But the crispy duck was horrible over cooked and oily it come out cold. Our entrees even cane out after our dinner. Ate here 3 years ago and there have been some differences.

Must do this place!!! Location is stunning. Service is 1st class. Menu is plentiful and colourful. Pricing is very realistic. Taste of meals is excellent. Value is great. Will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant recently and really enjoyed most of our meal—the mains were fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. However, we were very disappointed with the fried ice cream dessert. It was poorly made and unfortunately inedible. We raised our concerns politely, but the staff refused to offer a refund or any form of resolution, which left a sour note on an otherwise good experience. It’s a shame, as we were happy with the rest of the food, but good customer service includes being open to feedback—especially when something clearly isn’t up to standard. We hope management will reconsider how they handle situations like this in future.

Haven't been here for about 2 yrs and what a disappointment smaller portions and food is warm at best. We used to get 4 Dim sims in a portion now it's 2. When you order a duck dish it was excellent 2yrs ago, and now is supposed to be boneless and it is full of cartilage and bones, not good for your teeth. Once again only warm at best. If the patrons have become so complacent they don't care what they eat but for the location and price this is less than average at best. We came here to do a follow up review and got what we were warned of, junior staff that don't know anything about service and wouldn't make it in a pub. Talk to customers like they are class mates at school, can we get you another drink mate as we are closing the bar. Has hospitality gone down so bad you don't want your customers enjoying your restaurant with good end of meal food and service that you close off your income to save a few dollars in wages. I don't think we will bother going back to this establishment to any more reviews of poor service and low standards of food being served up to unassuming customers.

Had a full glass of wine spilt all over table, no refill, tried to charge however did take off bill, but did not want to. Booking was for 5.30 food arrived 6.45, also had the privilage of cleaning the wine up myself as all the server did was say sorry and give me a wad of serviettes to do the job. Fried rice was tasteless and gluggy with only a pinch of shallotts to add crunch, very expensive so if on a budget forget it.

Entrees took 40 min to come and the staff had said the order was lost… we were offered free entrees. Food is very tasty. The service is below par. Staff running around like chooks with their heads cut off and not knowing what is going on. The waitress that served the table was lovely. But the young girl that was serving food and taking payments was rude and needs to work on her r.b.f. A bit better. And needs some training in customer service.

I love this Bakery. The coffee is excellent. The store is always so clean and bright and filled with so many yummy treats. None of which I can partake of being vegan but I am sure they are all wonderful. However, the best part about this bakery are the staff. I always feel so welcomed. They are all warm, friendly and go above and beyond to make this small part of my day a highlight. Well done.

Pretty great place for pies and sausage roll... Recommended Service was friendly and courteous, which made us felt welcomed...Did checked if they can prepare chicken sandwich but got told they can't as their food comes prepared from kitchen, which is fair enough. Happy with my sausage roll, seasoned to perfection and portion size was pretty controlled, but even though the quality was spot on. For vegetarians, very limited options, Spicy lentil pie 🥧 : was decent.... Could have more aromats or spices not to make hot but to get that seasoned flavor to take it up to the next level Winter Melon Salad : was good though, complemented sausage roll.

We had the steak and mushroom pie. It was lovely and hot. Plenty of tasty pieces of soft steak. Gravy wasn't salty like commercial pies. Pastry was crispy on top soft under but held it's form well. Young teenager who served us was very friendly and polite. Service was quick and they have a little area outside to sit and enjoy the food. It is a bakery so had a great range of favourite pastries to choose from. We didn't try any today but will definitely come back again.

Inconsistent. September 2025 five pies of which four were what we call a full blowout. Too hot too wet and too soggy. All pain no pleasure. Provided feedback. Unsatisfactory business response to a genuine, serious problem and what should be valued feedback. If it was my business, I would offer a full refund since it was crap and offer free replacement on next visit so that my customer would come back and try again which we won’t be at this shop Sorry about the bad news just a genuine feedback to help everybody I will try the other shop in Main Street as it’s close to home. Haven’t been there yet. I would expect the same product. Last time I visited Elizabeth Street the pies were great, so I’m not sure what went wrong, but it’s certainly a problem, which is why the first word I chose was inconsistent Cheers

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Stockland Hervey Bay Shopping Centre, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Enzo's on the Beach. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Shopping
Stockland Hervey Bay Shopping Centre is the largest shopping center on the Fraser Coast, offering a wide range of stores and a small food court with diverse cuisines. The center has a large car park with multiple entrances and is well-maintained. It serves as a community hub with interesting shops for browsing. However, some visitors find the parking layout to be somewhat challenging due to separate developments.
Biggest in Hervey Bay. 2 supermarkets and plenty of other stores that you would expect to see in a growing regional centre. Parking is getting more and more difficult as the place grows.
Paul C — Google review
Clean and tidy shopping centre. Had most stores (grocery, clothes, mobile phones, etc). Fairly basic food outlets, including a food court style area. Parking can be a real challenge at times. Motor vehicle access and egress is a major challenge with long lines and selfish drivers adding to the problem. Get there early if you want to avoid traffic jams. And beware of unsavoury characters, particularly in the various car parking areas.
JR B — Google review
Large centre with kmart, JB hi fi , Coles and plenty of other shops. We had lunch at the coffee club, probably one of the best outlets we have been to. Excellent service and great food.
Denis C — Google review
A nice shopping centre, clean and well managed you often see security walking around. Negative - entry and exit points. Trying to get to the actual parking area is well difficult, little roundabouts cause delays and confusion both to enter and exit but also to access different ends of the shopping centre. With the rapid growth of Hervey Bay and surrounding suburbs its time to expand and bring in stores like Myer, and Target, but you would also need to fix the parking situation. A comment to Management . Please do something about the electric scooter issue. They seem to take pleasure in riding at speed around the car parking area and between people of the crossings. Also how about over 70s Parking ? A standard in many shopping centres now. Not disabled but still find walking behind moving vehicles concerning, not to mention finding their car. If you can provide parking for young fit healthy parents surely you can dedicate a few parks for the older people in our community . NB: thank you Management for advising there are 4 seniors parking areas near the medical centre. Would it be possible to put in a few at the other end of the shopping centre to make it easier for the elderly to access the Post office without a long walk through the shopping centre ?

I consider to be an up market shopping centre. Has all the necessary stores..chemist, bottle shop , a lovely bakery, woolworths etc etc. Worth the effort for me to visit more regularly from other end of town. Adequate parking with large retail stores nearby. 4 1/2 stars.
Peter H — Google review
Although I enjoy shopping at Eli Waters, parking can be difficult. I avoid the busiest areas by parking on the south side towards Harvey Norman. When it's less busy, I park closer. Recently, I parked in front of Heaps Discounts and had a bad experience. I drove up towards the guard that prevents you from driving too far forward. I heard a noise like my car scraping on the guard. When I backed up the engine splash shield under the front of my car was partly pulled off. I got out to look and saw 2 huge bolts sticking up from the guard in front of my car. These were the cause of the hang up I experienced. I hope this can be fixed so others don't suffer damage to their cars like I did.

Good shopping centre with quite a variety of retailers. Woolworths is the draw card. Large fresh seafood, large fresh fruit and vegetable retailers. Parking is a pain best to turn at lights venture to back of complex and leave via back entrance.

Pleasant shopping centre handicapped by very poor parking and traffic circulation. Excellent Woolworths. Very good fresh fruit and veg shop (limited variety and a bit pricey), BWS, etc.

Pialba Beach Tourist Park

Campground
Pialba Beach Tourist Park is a delightful destination located just a short drive from the heart of Hervey Bay. This beach is not only popular among locals and visitors alike, but it also boasts an array of amenities that enhance your experience. The tranquil atmosphere during the low season makes it an ideal spot for families to enjoy swimming, building sandcastles, or simply unwinding with a good book under the sun.
Great park. We had a beachfront site (non power/ water) and it was seriously the best site in this park with full ocean views. Amenities- excellent and clean. Caretakers Andy and Leara were extremely welcoming, professional and helpful. They were very friendly and thorough upon check-in and even came to make sure we were all good, once we settled in and if we needed anything else. It’s not that often that you get such friendly service and a follow up during a stay. Renovations are under way and soon this park will have some cabins and a dog friendly section too. Next door to cafe, water slides and eateries walking distance. Great location.

We spent our Easter holidays at this campground and had a fantastic experience. Booking and communication were easy, and Peter was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The facilities are well-maintained, and the beachfront location is unbeatable. Having a waterpark nearby was a huge bonus for the kids. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Love this park. Friendly and safe. We were fortunate to have a beachfront site in a quiet end of the park. Managers were excellent and very visible throughout the day - always with a smile. Amenities were always excellently maintained. I hope the park does not change too much when it is ‘upgraded’ at the end of this month.

This is my 5th visit to Pialba. I love the park near the beach. The managers are extremely accommodating and very friendly. They go out of their way to be helpful with parking your van. The ammenities are very clean. I have nothing but praise for this caravan park.
Glen R — Google review
I booked for a campervan powered site. The park is half closed due to major renovations. Booking is online. There is no office, everything is done by email, key pick up and drop off box. The shared areas are old and tired but suffice for a short stay. It’s a drop dead location though, either a fab cafe at the entrance, and 1 min stroll to the beach, Cole’s etc. My powered site was sufficient on a concrete pad but the power was quite a way from me. My 10m cord barely reached, only running it under my neighbours van. I needed a 20m cord. So be warned.

Water & Amusement Parks
Aquatic center
Wetside Water Park is an oceanfront aquatic center located in Hervey Bay, Queensland. It offers a variety of water attractions including waterslides, a splash pad, and a wave machine. The park opened in 2009 and has since become a popular spot for families to cool off during the hot summer days. This zero-depth water park features interactive play equipment, tipping buckets, and a giant water screen, providing both entertainment and education on water sustainability.
Great place to stop and cool off. Parking can be tricky if it’s busy. The main splash park is free but you can pay a low cost for the other slides and timed ninja park. These are paid for for a certain number of turns. Lots of tables and chairs available, some shaded. Lockers available near the toilets - BYO padlock or get one from the kiosk. Showers also in the cubicle blocks. 2 cafes right next to the park so easy to get food & beverages and then take them to eat. The kids had a blast.
Erin B — Google review
Seriously, they need to limit the number of people at the water park during school breaks. We got there right when it opened at 10, and it was fine for like ten minutes, but by 10:30, it was total chaos. It's an accident just waiting to happen. Kids were pushing and shoving on the kids' slides, kids were crying everywhere, and parents were just glued to their phones. The line for the big slides was all the way down the stairs. My kid was done after fifteen minutes. He was like, "Can we leave? I don't feel safe."
Lewmish M — Google review

Great place to take the kids and us big kids for a bit of fun! Well priced and in a prime spot on the beach. Only reason it wasn't a 5 umwas due to short staffing there was nowhere to buy a water. The young guy spotting the slides was friendly and attentive.

Not for the faint of heart, and not entirely sure how the slides would go in the middle of summer, but the kids loved them, could see the pride they had when they climbed to the top then choosing which slide to go down. And the swings were fun, oh so fun.
Brett W — Google review
Great playground with lots of different play equipment. Amazing for the kids. Toilets unfortunately were not great and badly needed a clean.
Tim F — Google review
Great playground. This area is well lit even when it gets dark. Not sure why kids would want to still play here after it gets dark though. The equipment is probably better suited for bigger kids given the heights involved. Otherwise even bigger kids (adults) may have to accompany some of the younger kids up. The ground is nice and soft in case you can't make it all the way up. But the safer option would be to climb back down again.
Howard F — Google review
What a wonderful place for children, great playground, a lots of fun activities! It's a big place, lovely place to go and spend time. The place has everything, clean public toilet, car park, picnic table, BBQ, lots of shade, nice playground.
M ( — Google review
A little bit limited for younger kids, but great for slightly older kids or adults alike. The climbing frame was really quite tall, and there's a height recommendation for kids who want to climb this and go down one of the tree large slides. Otherwise, there's a sandpit with diggers, swings, small climbing ropes, a wheelchair swing or computerised touch games for adults. The area was kept clean and there were several benches for picnics, alongside toilet facilities too.
Kerbray — Google review
Great clean looking park with heaps of things for older kids, young and kids with disabilities. Has Ample parking, toilets, covered areas, seating and water fountains. Next to the beach. If you go early in morning there is hardly any one there. There is also a wheelchair swing available. The big jungle gym and slides not recommended for very young kids due to risk of falling.

Odyssey Bistro is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Hervey Bay, offering an extraordinary dining adventure that truly lives up to its name. This farm-to-table bistro features a hand-sealed menu that showcases a delightful three-course meal, which changes monthly based on the freshest local produce and proteins available. Diners can savor dishes like freshly shucked oysters and fish crudo while enjoying expertly paired beverages from nearby distilleries, breweries, and wineries.
The service was fantastic, as was the food and drinks. The meals were amazing and there wasn’t one component in any dish that we didn’t like. The cocktails were so good you would have thought we were dying of thirst if you saw how many we had. And each meal was described to us in detail by the fantastic waitstaff along with brief descriptions on how certain components are created. Definitely an experience well worth the money. The meal sizes were good and we left feeling full and satisfied.

Just wowed away. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful welcoming staff. Welcomed with water and the set menu for this month. Each dish explained and each sounding as amazing as the last and the special touch was knowing it was all so local with a guide on the back of the menu showing where everything has been sourced. 100% recommend. Will return time and time again.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the night and food was perfect. I had been wanting to try Odyssey for some time, but I do believe I chose the best time to come. The service was just wonderful, high spec, but very welcoming too, such a fantastic mix. Can't fault the food at all, and loved being able to have a wide selection of "per glass" wines that matched beautifully. Will be back again, and in the meantime rave about this place A LOT!!

Odyssey Bistro is an absolute standout in Hervey Bay. Their philosophy of using fresh, locally sourced produce shines through in every dish - you can really taste the quality. The menu is creative and full of flavour, the atmosphere is intimate yet welcoming and the service is spot on. A true celebration of local food and a must-visit for anyone who loves dining with heart.

Overall, I had quite a good time here. It can get a bit too loud but I guess it depends on the crowd you get. I tried: 🍸Odyssey Margarita — a medley of tequila, BBQ pineapple, lime & jalapeño salt. 🐑 The most flavourful and tender lamb skewers that works so well with the hummus, crispy chickpeas, pickled onion, orange and parsley dressing. 🦐 The portion, wow. fresh baked prawns with the creamiest Balinese curry. 🐟 🥩 I wasn’t too crazy about the mains. But they cook both the fish and steak at the right texture but the toppings were just ok for me. 🥔 Potatoes roasted in duck fat was crispy and savoury. 🍰 I loooove the orange almond cake; the chocolate tart was alright.

Such incredible flavours!!! Very generous servings, so fresh and vibrant. I was impressed with the wine list selection too. Loved Odyssey!! Would definitely come back.
Jenna N — Google review
I recently dined at Odyssey Restaurant expecting a fine dining experience given the $300 bill. Unfortunately the evening fell well short of even basic hospitality standards. From the outset, the service was unprofessional and disengaged. Staff delivered the menu in a robotic manner, with NO effort to guide or engage. When concerns about the meal were raised, staff's response was dismissive and belittling - and attitude entirely at odds with the principles of quality service. The food itself was equally disappointing. Dishes were excessively fatty (pork) and poorly balanced, while the cheese platter offered only a single selection. A panna cottage that resembled a marshmallow, paired with frozen fruit felt careless and far from refined. None of the courses reflected the level of skill or creativity expected at this price point. Ambience was also lacking. For a restaurant positioning itself as fine dining the absence of atmosphere, attentive, friendly service, and well executed dishes made the experience- feel unworthy of the cost. Overall, the visit was deeply unsatisfying. When spending at this level, diners should expect quality, care and respect. Unfortunately Odyssey Bistro failed to deliver on every front.

We had the pleasure to dine at Odyssey during our summer holidays in Queensland. The restaurant was recommended on the Good Food guide, and after checking their website, we decided to try our luck at the last minute. The team was kind enough to accommodate us with the last 2 seats, at the bar. We had a great night still, looking at the barman shake cocktails and mocktails and serving wine. We love that the menu is a 'market' menu. It changes week after week depending on what is in season. The team in the kitchen works with "local" suppliers, growers, farmers or dairy farms about 300km around. We both really enjoyed the flavour combinations and how the chef plays with textures. Every dish was fresh and few components only were fried, which we lived (some restaurant really to much on fried components for crunch in my view). The menu was delicious from start to finish. The service was lovely, there for every of our needs without being too present. We will definitely be back next time we visit that beautiful part of Australia.

Enzo's on the Beach is a popular spot in Hervey Bay, offering light breakfast and lunch options with stunning water views. The airy cafe has an indoor/outdoor setup, complete with bean bags on the sand and double-height ceilings that create a tropical beach bar atmosphere. The menu features all-day brunch items like avocado on rye sourdough, spanner crab omelette, and full English breakfast, along with freshly blended juices and smoothies.
We absolutely loved our afternoon and evening at this fantastic beach club. We brought our little dog with us and sat in the beanbags with our feet in the sand, ebony a few drinks. When the sunset, the waitress allowed its to move to a more upright lounge seat just behind the beanbags to eat dinner. The food was delicious

To be honest, this café has a great location with lovely scenery and friendly-looking staff, but that’s about it. The food was really disappointing — completely lacking in flavor. If the team could improve the menu, it would make a huge difference. At the moment, it’s more of a photo spot than a dining destination. Don’t waste your money on the food — it’s not worth it. I also feel compelled to mention the service, which was surprisingly poor. I first visited in 2019 and remember taking photos here. This time, however, I was very disappointed. No water was offered, and when I politely asked, the staff’s response was rude: “Help yourself.” I ordered a flat white, and a staff member brought two cups over, claimed one was my latte, and walked away without answering when I tried to clarify. Then she just served another table and ignored me completely. The restaurant didn’t feel very clean either — the atmosphere was tense, and the staff all looked stressed and overwhelmed. It’s such a shame, given the beautiful location.

Awesome location and good vibes. We went here for dinner, watched the sunset. Goan vindaloo and prawn gnocchi were both yummy dishes from the specials menu, both had a bit of spice to them! Garlic bread was also quite good. Great aperol and good local tap beer.

We dined here on Sunday 28th September for brunch, we sat at a table but wanted to move to a table closer the outside area, we were told it was reserved at 2pm even though it waa dirty still, once they cleaned it, it wasnt marked as reserved, we were seated at 145, the table we wanted was still was empty the whole entire time we ate and 1 hour after we there still empty, we were really annoyed at this as they could have checked to see if that reservation was going to make it, still it remained empty when we left, this says alot about service or caring about patrons and going above and beyond in your job. My sister ordered 2 cocktails different types and said they were delicious, meals were good, burgers were enjoyed, karaage chicken was enjoyed, the oysters were devoured, garlic bread abit greasy but enjoyed. Overall enjoyed dining here, just wish they checked if that reserved table was still coming because it sat empty for over an hour. Views are great, ambience is nice. Service needs attention, meaning greeting customers well. We aren't hervey bay residents, we were on a holiday so this was a stand out for me in my stars rating on service, you can see in the picture the table were wanted to sit at remains empty.

What a top little spot. Ample on the menu to choose from, food tasted great and even the kids sizes are big. For a Saturday afternoon, was a busy place, but service was quick. Few little let downs however. Some couple at a table had a dog inside which was barking occasionally, which was annoying. Plus there was loud dance music playing. For a beach side cafe/restaurant, would have been nicer to have more appropriate tunes.

Great location and each time I’ve had breakfast here it’s been great. Order at counter or QR code at table. Didn’t have to wait long for our orders. Coffee was lovely. Today I had the loaded yoghurt. Just right. Friend loved her wholly crumpets and other friend said her ‘our Benny’ was the best she’s ever had. I’ve had that before but with the beetroot and ginger salmon added… Devine!

We went for dinner with our toddler and had a nice meal! Food: food was great! And huge portions. I had the burger and it was perfectly cooked (link in the middle). My husband had the Parma and said it was good, standard pub Parma. My son had fish and chip and loved it. We ordered the Mezze plate for $30 and thought it would be ok size for an entree….it was huge! Could definitely feed 4 for an entree! Service: You have to order at the bar which is absolutely fine but you go to one counter to order food, another to order drinks. My husband ordered his beer then ordered my cocktail and was told he had to to go to the main bar for cocktails so ended up 3 different spots to order in total. QR code on the table would definitely be better. Food came very fast, mains came 5 mins after our Mezze plate. Not ideal but not really a problem! The staff were all very kind and friendly and willing to help. The gentleman that seated us was great! Atmosphere: atmosphere was fine, we were there early so was quiet. Only down side was they no longer have a kids play area. Not the end of the world as there is a park across the road that I took our son to and they gave us colouring in but would be nice if they could rebuild their kids area (there was a fire). All in all a good place to eat with a toddler!

We love going to the Beach House Hotel. You have fantastic friendly hard working staff who are very efficient at their craft. You cater for vegans by offering the not chicken schnitzel and will allow us to have it as a meal with vegetables, we would like to see more vegan options with no oil or nuts. The food is great, the portions and price are reasonable, the atmosphere though really busy at times is pleasant. I highly recommend your establishment to anyone.

Fantastic food and service! The signature garlic prawns were delicious and my Aunty said the battered fish was the best she has had in years. Which is lovely since we're in Hervey Bay for her birthday. We didn't have a booking but the staff were amazing at getting us a table. Will definitely be back!

Was keen to order as had some good reviews. Ordered 5 dishes for $116,two of them were rice dishes , coconut rice, fried rice, mixed vegetables, honey prawns, sweet and sour pork. Prawns were fine for the rest no flavour and no sweet and sour sauce for the pork. Hands down the worst Chinese meal I have ever had.
Stephen B — Google review
Honestly the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The creamy garlic was tasteless just straight cream with no flavour, the chicken was rubber, it had big jello fat bits. I had black bean beef and that was crap, literally no favour and rubber Fried rice was crap, rock solid - how do you mess up fried rice ? And the curry puffs nasty.

Got seated without a reservation. Ordered the handmade spring rolls for an entree, they were amazing! Ordered the Mongolian beef which was amazing, honey king Prawns, which weren't the greatest, but aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Also Ordered a special fried rice which was a nice accompaniment, also ordered the char kway teow which was nice on its own.

Mixed Entree was ok. The curry puff didnt have much filling Neither did the prawn toast. The dim sim was onky in the middle. Satay chicken was amazing. Mongolian beef was also very nice. We had a large fried rice. It had big chucks of duck, and chicken through it. The staff where friendly and Polite, very nice restaurant you wont be dissapointed.

Giovannis Pizza Bar, located in Hervey Bay, is a beloved Italian restaurant known for its mouthwatering Neapolitan pizza and diverse vegetarian options. The restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere, along with its attentive and friendly staff, sets it apart from others. Customers rave about the generous portions and high-quality ingredients used in their delicious pizzas and pastas. Visitors have also praised the accommodating nature of the staff when it comes to dietary preferences.
We absolutely lucked into this place after a random road trip. The Capricciosa was a tiny bit oily, but overall, great quality and taste. Great friendly staff too, even though it was a very busy Saturday night.

Ordered a takeaway from here last night and was so disappointed that the focaccia and cheesecake didn’t arrive. Instead it was a small pizza, looked like a child’s? Photo attached. The bbq chicken pizza was good and we have had food from here before but it was upsetting that these items were not delivered and we have still had to pay. This order was placed via uber and the driver confirmed it this was all they had; we called the restaurant and the owner was quite abrupt saying it was Uber’s problem and hung up as they were too busy. Contacted uber and we are unable to have a refund. Unfortunately won’t be returning after this experience. Such a shame.

Fantastic food, Welcoming staff, Great location, Giovannis ticks all the boxes, A small genuine Italian restaurant in Hervey Bay, making some of the best pasta and pizza there is. I eat here regularly after work, they are quick and efficient without losing any of the quality. I'm a sucker for their carbonara pasta, but i can also reccomend their pizzas. Great food, Thanks for the great service

We ordered pizza via Uber Eats at 5:50 pm and it was supposed to arrive by 6:30 pm. Unfortunately, it didn’t arrive until 8:05 pm after multiple calls to the store. It was really disappointing and embarrassing, especially since we were waiting for so long. On top of that, all three pizzas were extremely salty and not enjoyable to eat. Very poor experience — both with delivery time and food quality.

We stumbled across Giovanni's Pizza Bar and were absolutely blown away. This place is the real deal—authentic Italian pizza and pasta that bursts with the fresh, vibrant flavors of Italy. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and our meals arrived quickly, perfectly cooked, and full of heart. You can tell they care about quality and tradition. Highly recommend Giovanni's to anyone craving a truly great Italian meal. After this experience, we’ll definitely be regulars!

Pizza was amazing. Got a super supreme and an Australian pizza. So filling I could only eat 2 slices, hubby scoffed his down. I came upon this place when wandering on the beach. It’s so lovely with a view over the beach and water. Staff were really friendly and professional, and very accommodating of my coeliac requirements. Lots of gluten free options to choose from, and I love that the woman who took my order noted that I was coeliac so that the chef could be extra careful. I had the prawn, mango and macadamia salad for lunch. It was plentiful, quintessentially Queensland on a plate and delicious! The dressing was so so tasty that I would’ve drank what was left on the plate if that were socially acceptable. I also had a decaf almond latte and it was so so good! I’m from Melbourne so have high expectations of food and coffee, and this ticked all the boxes.

A great place on the esplanade to grab a bite. The food was delicious. The fish 🐟 was seasoned really well. The salt and pepper calamari was battered just right with plenty of flavour. The scallops were delicious. Overall everything on the platter tasted great. The app wasn’t working so we had to grab the menu from the counter but apart from that it was great with a great view of the sea. 🌊

Just had smashed avo at this beautiful beachside spot so good I briefly considered writing it a love letter. > The toast was crisp, the avo was whipped like it had a stylist, and the service? Michelin-starred in kindness. > If brunch were a sport, this place just won gold—with a sea breeze and a side of charm. Thank you will definitely be back to this little gem .

We were staying nearby while we were on a quick trip to Australia. I think of the five days we eat breakfast here at at least three times. Highly recommend the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and a flat white with oat milk. One of the mornings we were rushing to get to a tour and they even kindly put our food in togo boxes, but the service was so fast we ate it before we left. We sat outside and watched the boats in the ocean, made our Australian trip even more memorable.

Highly recommended. We missed dining at Aquavue during our last visit to Hervey Bay, so we rocked up during this visit. The cafe come restaurant is located at the top of the Scarness beach and has a relaxed and open ambience. The staff are friendly, polite, and engaging, and ensured our visit went well. With all credit to another patron's review, I ordered a prawn & mango salad and thoroughly enjoyed this nutritious and flavoursome hit. My wife ordered the barramundi and was equally happy. The icing for the visit was the superb blue ocean water views and watching two swimmers return to the beach after their reef swim.

Walk in and waited 5 minutes before we had to find someone else to order food and beverages. We didn’t know you can order on table. Wasn’t long before food came out, we ordered the seafood platter for 2. Beautiful atmosphere with an awesome singer and view on sunset.

Review of Aqua View Café, Hervey Bay We visited Aqua View with a $50 voucher for lunch for two, and sadly it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in Hervey Bay. For such a prime location with ocean views, you’d expect fresh seafood or at least something worth eating oysters, mussels, prawns, or even a proper cold seafood platter. Instead, everything was deep-fried, overcooked externally, soggy inside, and tasted like it came from a freezer packet. The prawns were particularly disappointing. They were tiny — about the size of a five-cent piece — and we actually had to send one back because it was laughably small. Compare that to places like Enzo’s or Café Baleana, where prawns are plump and fresh, and Aqua View doesn’t even come close. We also tried an entrée that was some sort of duck-filled thing and cheese balls. Inside, they were mushy, soggy, and tasteless — like eating soggy cardboard. The food overall was completely inedible; we ended up feeding it to the ibis birds hopping from table to table eating scraps that hadn’t been cleared. Honestly, watching the birds eat was the highlight of the lunch. The only redeeming factor was a Pina Colada cocktail, which was decent (5/10). The food itself gets a flat 0/10. To be fair, the staff were kind and helpful when it came to using our voucher, and we appreciated that. But no amount of friendly service can make up for food that is this bad. The staff seemed confused that we had a voucher, they were e hausted looking as if they didnt want to be there. Looking around, most diners seemed to have left food on their plates too — which says a lot. I love supporting local businesses, but I cannot recommend Aqua View to anyone. Not for a special day, not even for a casual lunch. With such a stunning location, this place could be incredible — but the food is truly disgusting. Also looking at all the other negative reviews and the managments dismissive arrogant responses; I wish we had looked at the negative reviews before we bothered coming. They speak loudly. Avoid this place. Can't wait for a negative nasty and childish response below shortly.

Very nice, clean cafe. Standard pricing for food, a little bit pricier for the smoothies but still nice. Food is amazing and worth the price, the chef know how to get just the right flavours flowing. His house made beans are amazing. Staff are friendly and fast. Highly recommend this Cafe for a great breakfast.

I stopped in for a hot chocolate and a plate of poached eggs with bacon. While the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food and drink unfortunately didn’t meet expectations. The hot chocolate was served lukewarm, and the meal itself looked and tasted like it hadn’t been prepared with much care. I think there’s definitely room for improvement in the kitchen, as the presentation and temperature really do make a big difference to the overall experience.

In July, we had the pleasure of a brunch date with stunning views of the esplanade and ocean. The coffee and brunch were exceptional. The kids loved the fluffy, thick Banana Split pancakes and French Toast, while the Rosti and Benny were absolutely scrumptious.

Not sure what was going on here but we had a table outside, they weren't very busy, three other tables from 2 to 4 guests at each. I ordered sweet potato rosti with poached eggs and bacon. Everything was overcooked. You can't actually see the rossti under the dry bacon in photo but only the very middle was worth eating. Wouldn't return.

Open air and very cleanly kept resuraunt indeed. Staff were friendly on arrival but found it strange that we were redirected to our choice of table to sit at after being asked eating in or take away, no table service to take order and had to go back to counter after picking the order . Pricing of food is medium to top expected pricing for the food that was on menu. (Given the location it is assumed the tenancy price would be high to keep in service) Understandable wait on order delivery and drinks were served separately to food - was not informed about the delay til well into the time it would take to promptly cook and serve the meal. The restaurant was not busy so would be concerned about ordering during a packed service time. Overall it was pleasant . July 2025- had banana split pancakes this time 💪😎 the chocolate was not overboard and it was served with vanilla icecream 👃👃👍👍👍👍👍 very happy

Splendid experience. Food was great, the pricing is right. Had french toast there and ordered croissant and salmon bagel to go. Everything was delicious. The service was pleasant, but slow. Like 4 stars slow. I assume they were understaffed a bit, cause while the place was full at 9.30, it wasn't overcrowded. Definitely hit this place, especially if not in a hurry. Restaurant
Banksia Seafood and Grill is a modern Australian restaurant situated in the heart of Hervey Bay on Charlton Esplanade. The restaurant offers alfresco dining with a gentle sea breeze, serving up delectable dishes such as Fraser Coast prawns, Moreton Bay bug tail, Shark Bay scallops, and mouthwatering grilled steaks. Head Chef Saul Collins brings his expertise to the table, creating signature dishes like stuffed baked potatoes paired with a choice of sauce.
During our recent stay in Hervey Bay, we had the unexpected pleasure of dining at Banksia Seafood and Grill — and what a discovery it was! As seasoned food lovers who've had the good fortune to dine in numerous top-tier restaurants (including Michelin-starred venues), we were genuinely stunned by the level of culinary excellence we found here. We started with the Baked Hervey Bay Scallops and Roasted Butternut Pumpkin Arancini — both impeccably balanced, showcasing creativity and refined technique. For the main, the Seafood Chowder in a Cob was an absolute triumph: rich, complex, and brimming with fresh local seafood, all served in a perfectly crusty cob loaf. I even took photos — the presentation was as outstanding as the flavours. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the exceptional hospitality. Staff members Jo and Nelly were warm, knowledgeable, and wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. They made us feel welcome and genuinely cared for throughout the evening. To find this level of finesse and heart in a modest coastal town like Hervey Bay is nothing short of extraordinary. Banksia could hold its own in any major culinary capital — and then some. We’ll definitely return, and will be recommending this hidden gem to all our foodie friends. Bravo to the team!

Hands down the best meal we had in Hervey Bay. Arrived at 5:45pm with no booking, they were able to find a table for 2 of us. Baked scallop has perfect amount of curry spice, literally took the dish for another level. Seafood chowder is rich, flavourful as it should be, we also loved the lamb shank. It's a bit pricey but the food was outstanding and generous portion, absolutely worth it. Staff were very attentive, checking in regularly to ensure we had a good time. Overall such a wonderful dining experience, thank you !

One of my favourite dining experiences ever! Next time we're in Hervey Bay we will definitely take the time to book the seafood platter in advance. But what we ordered was so delicious it's hard to be disappointed! Highly recommend the bugs and the fish of the day.

Banksia Seafood & Grill is a true gem in Hervey Bay, and our recent experiences have confirmed it’s now one of the best restaurants in town. On our last visit, we kicked off the meal with Tempura Prawns and Spicy Speck Kilpatrick for entrées—both were exceptional, with the prawns light and crispy and the Kilpatrick offering a bold, smoky kick and plenty of flavour. For mains, we both chose the Lamb Shank, Rogan Josh style. Wow—the shanks arrived plump, tender, and juicy, easily some of the best we’ve had. The Rogan Josh flavours were subtle yet perfectly balanced, packing plenty of depth without overwhelming the lamb. It was so generous and delicious that there simply wasn’t room for dessert! Even on a busy night, the staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service and helping make the occasion special. The team’s professionalism and warmth stood out, despite how bustling the restaurant was. Banksia Seafood & Grill has set a new standard for dining in the region, and we’ll certainly be back this week to try the highly recommended seafood platter for two, in celebration of our wedding anniversary. Highly recommended for anyone seeking top-notch cuisine, standout service, and a memorable dining experience in Hervey Bay.

Thank you Nelly, Hayley and chef team for an amazing evening, beautiful ambient restaurant space, delicious food and beverages. Very generous serving sizes and fabulous pairings of flavours. Thank you also for the beautiful Mother’s Day surprise candle - very thoughtful and a lovely touch. We will definitely be back - thank you!

We had an extremely lovely lunch today. The Seafood Platter is a must try! The oysters were super fresh, there was a great selection of yummy fruits. It was just the perfect mix of everything over two plates. I’ll be back to try more of what Banksia has to offer.

I never leave reviews but can not recommend Banksia enough! What an absolute amazing dining experience. When I called to make the reservation I explained we were here on holiday and when driving around this place caught our eye, the lady taking the reservation stated we wouldn't be disappointed for choosing this restaurant and it definitely lived up to that. We had the Hervey Bay Scallops with sweet potato purèe, spiced lamb rump and the Morton Bay bugs and delicious is an understatement, just beyond amazing !! I also tried the Back to Black Margarita and it is my new favourite drink. I will be sad to go back to Victoria and not be able to get it again. To all the staff at Banksia thank you for such an amazing experience

If you're ever in Hervey Bay and looking for an upscale dinner, you may want to consider Banksia. We came up to go whale-watching and needed to arrange dinner for seven people. Since I had done my homework, I was already aware the Banksia seemed to be an ideal selection after our drive up from Brissy. We had to sit outside due to when we placed our reservation, but this was not a problem. The inside of the restaurant is very bright and tastedully decorated and is great for a romantic dinner as well as larger parties. Our server, Angel, did a wonderful derful job of guiding us through the menu and getting everyone's orders recorded and into the kitchen. She had a great energy and was super attentive to all of our needs during our dinner. Their listing here does not show the kid's menu and we were only able to see it upon request at the restaurant. This may be an opportunity for families looking to take everyone out for a night on the town, but who may have second thoughts given the absence of this info. The food was very tasty and arrived at our table in a timely manner. All-in-all, we lad a lovely experience at Banksia.

Of the parks along the esplanade this place was the pick. Staff were very friendly and the park is very quiet, albeit the late night car races and wanna be speed kings on the road . Amenities are the best I have seen for a long time. Big dining area, big kitchen, showers and toilets are spotless, with the exception of that one person, that can read a sign. Beach is pretty much on ya door step and the sea breeze kept it rather cool. Dont come here if you want to run amok at night. It is an older crowd and I would say by 8.30pm at night, most are tucked up in the vans. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Other reviews correctly mention the beachfront location, good facilities, clean amenities, and good size sites.... What they DON'T mention is the high security risk and the CONSTANT traffic noise at all hours! This is also the first park in 3 years of travelling Australia that has immediately given me a written "Lock it up or lose it" note! 🤔 Unusual perhaps? - No!! .. not when you take into account that they DON'T have an entrance boom-gate (or anything similar!) and lots of passing pedestrian/bike/scooter traffic.. Other campers warned me not to leave my e-bikes out - irrespective of them being locked! ... and one older guest actually parked his mobility trike inside the secured toilet/shower block overnight! 😬 The traffic noise rarely lets up, and there seems to be a competition amongst the locals to see who has the loudest exhaust!! So ... you've been warned!! Yes, it's arguably the nicest caravan park on the Esplenade... but bring your earplugs and padlocks!

Great caravan park in a perfect Esplanade location. Amenities and camp kitchen are always spotless, and the grounds are well maintained with lovely grassed areas. Shops are within walking distance, and caravan sites are easy to access. The friendly site managers, Jess and Darren, are incredibly helpful and make you feel welcome. Tours can also be conveniently booked at reception. Highly recommend!

Scarness Caravan Park has been a fantastic stay !! Darren has been so helpful for a solo traveller backing onto the site. He has happily answered all my questions about power hook up. The amenities are very clean and all utilities full:- paper towels, soaps, toilet paper etc. The camp kitchen ever so spotless clean. All electric appliances working. He is very friendly even after a long week and the ever late check-ins. My first caravan park stay in my new motor home was excellent!!
Julie B — Google review
Lovely spic and span and newly renovated. If anything a little clinical. Right on the beach. Amenities new and in a style we haven’t encountered, all individual unisex rooms. No issues with theft, just put valuable stuff away, which is a common theme with reviews of the foreshore parks. The sites are a reasonable size for a large van but can be a bit tight to get in to as some of the new trees have been badly positioned. Its located across the road from some shops which is handy. The beach front sites are nice but if you cant get one the others are fine. Beautiful well appointed camp kitchen.
G. S — Google review
What a beautiful park. Very relaxing & peaceful. Easy to back onto sites, nice & spacious. Amenities blocks very clean with your own shower, toilet & change area. A few caravan parks are starting to use this set up. Definitely will stay here again. Close to cafes, restaurants.

Our 2nd visit to this caravan park and loved it both times. The managers Jess and Darren are fantastic and very friendly, gave us the best sea view pitch and they keep the ammenaties in immaculate condition. It is very central and we cycled every day (it is all nice and flat 😍). We will be back!

Hervey Bay’s premier beachfront caravan park ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This park has benefited from a major refurbishment and now boasts fabulous facilities along with an awesome location 🏖️ All sites are level with ample space between, new concrete single slabs, new lighting and utility posts All amenities are new and generously outfitted while the location is just perfect 👌 North facing Scarness Beach on one side and a generous variety of Esplanade cafes, restaurants, hotel, grocery store and news agent, among others, across the street 👍 You don’t even have to bring a car as there’s a 50 cent council bus stop right outside 🚌 We found the staff to be great to book with and friendly & helpful during our stay ❤️

History Museums
The Hervey Bay Historical Village & Museum offers a unique journey into the past with its collection of 21 old buildings and numerous historical artifacts. Visitors can witness weekly demonstrations and explore themed memorabilia dating back to 1873, gaining insights into the region's history. The village features period-specific buildings showcasing exhibits from the early days of Hervey Bay's formation, including household and farm items from the 1800s.
Museum run by enthusiastic volunteers. Took us 1hour 30minutes to stroll the exhibits and take a look back down memory lane.

The museum is an interesting place to visit with many local rescued buildings such as the church and vestry, slab homestead, railway station and smithy. The development and history of Hervey Bay and the surrounding area is well documented and there is lots to see. Of particular note are all the vehicles which are well maintained and obviously loved. Admission prices are reasonable and drinks are available on site. Allow about an hour for a visit. Unfortunately there are no specific interactive activities for children.

Choc-A-Bloc Full Of Real Life Historical Exhibits ... If like me, you are enthralled by the dynamic modern history of Australia, then you will want to spend an extended amount time here, as I did ... A huge amount of artifacts are on display and those exhibits range, from the farm, to the kitchen, to transport, technology, education, industry, tourism, gardening, nautical, ecological and almost everything else you can imagine, in between. Exploring this marvelous museum, was quite a self indulgent exercise for your truly, as childhood memories of formative family life in the 1970s, followed by retro tech recollections at the end of school and kicking off my working career in the 1980s, 1990s, through to the early 2000s, came rushing back to the front of my mind ... A highly enjoyable way to spend an hour or more, while spending time on the hidden gem that is The Fraser Coast.

An absolute must-see in Hervey Bay! This place completely exceeded my expectations — it’s huge! The museum holds an incredible collection covering all eras, from everyday tools to beautifully preserved machinery and artefacts. The recreated village sections are simply mind-blowing — walking through the old buildings and especially reaching the real working shed at the end feels like stepping back in time. The hosts and volunteers are amazing — friendly, passionate, and full of knowledge. They make history come alive with real demonstrations (they even teach you how to bone-knead, and everyone can have a go!). A visit here is truly a journey through time — you could easily spend hours exploring and still discover something new. One of the best historical museums I’ve ever been to. Highly recommended!

It was much bigger and better than I expected. There were 32 buildings to look in and so many exhibits to look at. The volunteers were friendly explaining things to us. There were so many things from my grandparents era.You need over 1 hour or more to see everything.

Great burger joint. Definitely recommend. My wife and I were looking for somewhere to eat and the reviews looked good. This place was amazing!!! It’s cat theme and it’s so cool 😆 The food here was lovely and the prices for the dish’s were very reasonable, I had a peach green tea and it was Litrally the best fruit tea I’ve had! The staff here were absolutely lovely and they had a tv playing all the restaurants and fun things to do in Japan. The had a kids menu, so everyone can enjoy something 😄 I definitely recommend this place to anyone!!

Went there to have dinner without a booking on a Saturday night. Got in at 6:30 and the older guy said the wait time for food is 30min which is fine. Looking around, there were 4 tables that didn't have food yet. Anyway waited and waited and finally got our food after 1 hr. Even the appetizers were served at this time, not even earlier than the mains. Seems like there's 3 people were preparing the food but it was a loooong wait. Food was ok, guess when you wait that long obviously it taste much better. Good service by the young girl and young guy, but the older guy was not so.
Jamie M — Google review
The food here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Having just recently gotten back from Japan I can say with 100% confidence that the food is as good (if not better) than most of the restaurants I ate at IN JAPAN. I recommend their sodas as well. Pick any flavour and you can't go wrong; they're all good.

Food is very nice, we sat outside and played uno which staff didn't mind. Drinks were nice as well and service was quick. Only feedback I could give is that they need to clear tables, when we came in there were a couple dirty tables and when we left it looked like not a single table had been cleared since we came in.

What an awesome little gem is this Japanese restaurant right at the Esplanade in Hervey Bay! It is a very cosy place for couples or little groups and it has very friendly staff. The food tastes delicious and fresh and the service was very fast. I tried the Peach Cider (a type of Japanese soft drink) and I loved it! For entree my husband and I had spring rolls, crab claws and also tuna sashimi! All looked and tasted amazing. Then we had as main Aburi Salmon Don and Wagyu beef Don, both delicious. We will definitely come back and recommend to our friends!!
Irene P — Google review
I visited Tanushi Sushi and Tea House recently with my wife for her birthday, hoping for a nice lunch experience. My wife is a vegetarian, so we ordered a vegetarian tempura udon, a teriyaki chicken udon for myself, and a vegetarian kaki nigiri to share. The nigiri was very nice and we were initially pleased. However, when the main dishes arrived, we discovered a star-shaped item with an orange circle in the vegetarian udon. When we quietly asked the waiter what it was, he explained that it was a fish cake, which should not have been included in a vegetarian dish. His response was simply to say “just pick it out, sorry the chef shouldn’t have put that in.” The dish was not replaced, and since it had already been contaminated with fish, my wife could not continue eating it. This really spoiled what was meant to be a special birthday meal. At the end, when asked how it was, I explained that the vegetarian dish had been ruined by the fish cake. The waiter apologised again, and while he did give us 10% off the total bill (around $5.40 on a $54.20 order), it didn’t feel adequate given that my wife’s $18.80 main meal was effectively wasted. Considering I had mentioned from the beginning that it was her birthday and that she was vegetarian, this left us disappointed. Overall, the experience was let down by how the mistake was handled. Accidents can happen in any kitchen, but the response and remedy matter. In this case, it didn’t feel like enough was done to make up for the situation, and unfortunately, it compromised what should have been a special lunch.

Omg! The original margarita was absolutely incredible that I was tempted to have a second one... if not for having to drive. Dang! The food was great too!

Ordered takeaway - nachos, tacos and enchiladas. Upon pickup, the service was friendly and the atmosphere looked great. However, the food was not in line with the price. We spent over $120 and selected this restaurant due to the gluten free options (appreciative this is available and this is positive about the restaurant). The tacos were flavourless, and the nachos and enchiladas were bland. I am providing this honest feedback about the food quality for improvements. Once again, service was great and so was atmosphere.

My husband and I stopped into Tres Salsa for lunch on Monday and it was such a great choice. I met my husband here for a casual catch-up and we ordered the Nachos and Chilli Con Carne. Both dishes were full of flavour, generous in portion and beautifully presented. The nachos had just the right balance of crunch, cheese and spice and the chilli was hearty and comforting without being overpowering. The service was warm and friendly and the relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect spot to stop and fuel up in the middle of the day. Tres Salsa has definitely nailed that balance between casual dining and food that really delivers. We’ll be back again soon!

Had a wonderful meal at this Mexican restaurant recently. I ordered the fajita board with prawns and my husband had the chimichunga. Both were well served and so very tasty. We finished off with churros for dessert, which was sweet, hot and everything you want a dessert to be. Congrats to the chef and the kitchen staff on this lovely tasty meal. The service staff were all very professional and attentive, which was awesome to see. Only thing I'll say is plates need to be cleared quicker once meals are done. I would definitely eat here again and recommend to others.

Nice friendly people.Always have a lovely smile when saying hello. Have time to talk and don't ignore you like the other side of town. I don't yap my head off but I like to say hello to people and have light conversations. All the people in the Urangan shopping centre are usually friendly and are never rude. One of the reasons I continue to shop this end of town and easily forget Eli Waters.

Embark on an unforgettable journey aboard the Tasman Venture, a luxurious and speedy 20-meter catamaran. Witness the awe-inspiring humpback whales up close and listen to their enchanting songs through a hydrophone. On the Remote Tour of Hervey Bay, indulge in the less touristy side of Fraser Island with its pristine waters and white sands.
Yesterday I finally went for my first ever whale watching. I chose to do the half day on the Tasman Venture. Al the crew were absolutely fantastic and very informative. The boat was very comfortable and the weather was perfect. The crew went above and beyond to make my day so memorable as well as to give my day the best view of the most majestic mammals of the sea. I will never forget it and will be back for more. Thanku so much you made my day,my one of many trips in my lifetime. 😃🩵

We had the most insane day with TV on their full day whale watching and K’Gari tour. Our captain was Angus and he and his crew were exceptional. We had our 3yo and 1yo with us and the crew were so accomodating, making sure we and they were looked after at all times..and even getting in the water with my 3yo to spot whales. Fantastic value for money for what you got- including 3 meals, wetsuits and snorkels, tubing behind the boat, kayaking down freshwater rivers as well as the whales and beaches! Couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Brilliant half day tour. A smaller operator, I think, and the absolute benefits are: super friendly staff, easy going but highly professional, on-time, great price, totally comfortable boat/ride, plentiful morning tea & snacks, multiple opportunities to watch whales up close, plenty of space on-board, easy viewing. The guide, Vicky, is fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable, keen to answer questions, share stories and run detailed commentary on the whales’ behaviour. It was a picture-perfect day, so that’s luck … but everything else about the tour that was under the captain & crews’ control was done with pure professionalism. What’s not to love about something provided with such commitment & energy? Fantastic.

An Unforgettable Whale Watching Adventure Our group recently took the Tasman Venture Remote K'gari Experience, and it was truly a fantastic day. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Their service was absolutely impeccable—they were attentive and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the trip. The captain was exceptional. It was clear he was very experienced, as he expertly navigated us to an area where we were able to get an incredibly close view of the humpback whales. The excitement on the boat was contagious; you could hear the cheers from all the passengers every time a whale surfaced. It was a completely new and amazing experience for everyone. The crew was also very patient and helpful during the kayaking and snorkeling activities. They took special care of our friends who weren't confident swimmers, which was really reassuring and made everyone feel safe. Several friends in our group had previously been on other whale watching tours, and they all agreed that this was the best whale watching experience they had ever had. We couldn't recommend Tasman Venture highly enough!

Simply perfect! I’ve had just one day in Hervey Bay and were choosing between a land tour and whale watching experience. And I did not regret even for a second for choosing the full day remote K’gari tour. The team was super friendly and I felt very comfortable even as a solo traveler. There were lots of fun activities to keep us busy through the day. Everything was very well organized and we’ve done so much with no rush and fully enjoying each activity. We also saw so many whales and received a lot of interesting information about these amazing creatures. So it was both fun and informative. Would like to say huge thank you to the team and the group for such a wonderful day. And would highly recommend this tour to everyone and will be happy to join other tours with this company.

An absolutely fabulous day with a very professional company and committed & enthusiastic staff. Corelena and the team enabled us to see so many whales up close - far more than we had envisaged. We experienced jumps, slapping and the courting chasing. All of the aspects were explained & Corelena made us aware of lots of facts throughout the day. Despite seeing so many whales we still had time for snorkelling, tubing and a paddle up a creek in a kayak. A very full day, which was orchestrated perfectly by the team. The food was fantastic too. Thankyou - it’s something we’ll always remember!

What a fantastic experience! The crew are so organised and look after everything. They fit so much in for you so you get to have a go at every activity as well, without feeling rushed. I really enjoyed the day and its the ideal size boat and number of people. When we stopped at awinya creek the staff were very respectful of the campers - we anchored up and kept to the end of the camp zone. Highly reccomend!!! I will certainly go on this tour again, thank you for an unforgettable day.

A must do in Hervey Bay. When researching what whale trip we wanted to do, this was the only one that offered K’gari tour. We had a fantastic trip, the whales followed us for hours, we saw two dingoes on the island and swam with the whales. The crew was very knowledgeable, the boat was comfortable, the activities were fun and lunch was fantastic. Overall it was the highlight of our vacation. We will come again next time we are in Hervey Bay and are recommending it to all of our friends!

Blue Dolphin Marine Tours offers a luxurious experience aboard their 12-meter sailing catamaran, departing from the Great Sandy Straits Marina. During whale season, guests can enjoy an intimate whale watching experience with a cap of around 24 passengers. The crew provides exceptional hospitality and takes care of every guest, including little ones. Visitors are treated to an abundance of snacks while witnessing majestic whales putting on a show, spyhopping and slapping their fins near the boat.
Recently did a week of whale watching trips out with Blue Dolphin in Hervey Bay. Most magical experiences ever! Passionate crew, with skipper Peter trying to get to the most active, curious whales. We had some incredible close encounters where the whales approached the boat on their own terms and showed interest in the boat and passengers. The crew are passionate, knowledgeable and hospitable (lunch and snacks provided throughout the trip). Amazing experience and well worth every cent. Memories of a lifetime!

We chose Blue Dolphin Marine Tours, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with our choice. It’s a family-run company that truly stands out from the big tour operators and their massive boats packed with tourists. The boat is clean, comfortable, and feels very intimate, with a maximum of around 20 people on board, it’s almost like going on a private cruise. The crew is absolutely outstanding: the captain knows everything about his field, is super approachable, and takes the time to answer all your questions. The rest of the staff are just as amazing — friendly, caring, and always making sure everyone feels looked after. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and snacks are served throughout the day, along with coffee, tea, and other drinks. You literally have nothing to do except relax and watch the whales. You’re not just going on a tour, you’re living a truly special and unforgettable experience. Don’t miss it! Speaking of whales, the team shows great respect for the animals: the boat slows down as soon as one is spotted, and thanks to the catamaran, you can get quite close without disturbing them. A nice bonus: they pick you up directly from your accommodation and drop you back after the trip. The quality of the service is well worth the price. Don’t hesitate for a second, choose this small, professional, and genuinely caring company. Trip on October 14th, 2025. the French

Absolutely phenomenal day on the water. The crew were incredible, the food amazing, and we got so many breaches! Our boat was mugged by at least 7 or 8 very curious whales over the course of the day. One pod couldn't get enough of us. Pete was great at explaining the whale behaviour and positioning his boat to get the best view. A total dream experience, thanks crew!

Wow, what a great day out. Superb staff, knowledgeable, friendly and so efficient. Best whale watching experience we have ever had. Excellent value. Boat was so clean. Food kept coming and was delicious. I would recommend Blue Dolphin to anyone who wants the perfect small group experience. Just loved it. And we saw plenty of whales. Highlights being the Mum and Bub that came so close to the boat and the sight and sound of the pec slapping from a huge whale. Thank you to Peter, Lyn, Cassie and Selkie. We had the best day yesterday.
Linda F — Google review
We did the whale watching tour yesterday and had the best day ever! Started at 7:15am and we returned around 4pm. Saw our first whales within 1 hour and soooo many more throughout the day, coming up to the boat and interacting with us! Pete is very friendly and relaxed and super knowledgeable about the marine life in Hervey Bay. And the food served on board was so yummy! Felt like we were being offered food the whole time - definitely didn’t go hungry. The coolest part about the whole day was getting to swim with the whales for around 5-10minutes, absolutely insane watching them swim underneath you and pop up for a breath right beside you. Would 100% recommend this company and will hopefully be back soon!!!

I took my 7yo and 9yo boys on this all day adventure and I admit there was a couple of times they were bored towards the end of the trip however I wanted an experience which wasn’t crowded and had plenty of time to spot some whales. We were not disappointed and the trip was awesome. The crew were super friendly and obliging at every point. Would highly recommend. If taking young kids like I did then use your judgement. Once the whales started performing the boys forgot about everything else. Awesome experience
Greg M — Google review
Majestic, exceptional, sensational… not enough words to describe how special today was. Even if there are not as many whales at this time of the year, we managed to see a fair few really up-close, who were really playful. I absolutely loved being in a catamaran vs a bigger boat. This gives you the best view from anywhere, it’s very stable (great option for people with motion sickness), and you are much more connected to the ocean and what’s happening rather than a bigger touristy boat (as I have done before). And I can’t rave enough about the crew! So friendly, caring, funny, nice… they truly go above and beyond. And they provided snacks and beverages during the whole trip, which was really nice. To be honest, I can’t believe how little you pay for what you get - between the whole day on the catamaran, the crew’s extensive knowledge and service, the food, the drinks, pick up & drop off from your accommodation… I’d do it again in a heartbeat and couldn’t recommend the tour more. Thanks Peter & crew, we’ll be back! Please note my photos are not representative whatsoever - if only I could upload videos, you’d see how sensational it was and how close we were!

Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks around the area or relax at the boat club while observing the bustling marine activities. A very tidy marina with great outlets of cafes, shops and the Boat Club. I enjoyed a beautiful breaky by the water before heading out to see the whales that was so special.

This was our second visit to the Marina - the last being 4 years ago. We are transient moving our boat up and down the coast. The manager was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean, well located and easy to use. Restaurants and cafes available by the water. Groceries are a half hour walk or a $10 taxi ride away. Lots of day tour options available right from the Marina. The entrance channel is clearly marked and the Marina is well protected by a good sea wall. A busy fuel wharf is close by. Well recommended and we will be back.

Big thanks to Rob at Great Sandy Straits Marina, we conveniently had our yacht here for an extended length of time over summer and autumn. After a few months away our boat was in the same great condition we left her in when we returned and while staying on board the marina was quite, clean and tidy, good amenities with many good eating options and coffee shops close by. We are very happy with our decision to stop here.

The Hervey Bay Dive Centre is a top marine and dive tour operator in Hervey Bay, Queensland. It has been recognized as a "Best of Queensland" operator and holds a 5 Star PADI dive centre status. Visitors have had amazing experiences swimming with whales and praised the hospitality and food provided during tours. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Whale Swim Experience – Simply the Best! We had the absolute pleasure of joining a whale swim tour with Hervey Bay Dive Centre, and it was nothing short of exceptional. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the team made every moment feel personal, safe, and awe-inspiring. What really stood out was the small group size, which made the entire day feel intimate and relaxed. There was no waiting around or feeling rushed, just quality time with the whales and the wonderful crew. The staff were incredibly friendly yet highly professional, striking the perfect balance between making you feel welcome and well looked after. Their knowledge was impressive, and they shared fascinating insights throughout the day, which really added depth to the experience. And then, the whales… It’s hard to put into words how special it was. Several times, these gentle giants came so close and made eye contact, an emotional and humbling moment we’ll never forget. The views while in the water were amazing and even from the boat, the experience was equally as spectacular. On top of that, the amenities, food, and overall in service were top notch. Every detail was thought of and executed flawlessly. We’ve travelled extensively and witnessed many natural wonders around the globe, but nothing compares to the experience we had today. Thank you to the entire Hervey Bay Dive Centre team for a magical day. We will taking this tour again and will talk about the experience for the rest of our lives!

This crew are the best in the bay! Yep, we've used others & enjoyed them too, but with HBDC swim with whales, our experience was 1 of the greatest in our lives. (We're retired, well travelled & swim with many sea creatures). On the boat & in the water 1 pod could not have come any closer, & they just stayed while others came and left. With a single level boat, limited numbers and really supportive crew, you could not ask for a better whale experience.

If you’re ever in the Hervey Bay area, this experience is an absolute must! The staff were so welcoming and made the day really special. The whole “swim with whales” experience was worth every cent — not only did we get to swim alongside these incredible animals and snorkel, but all the food and tea service was included. The preparation of meals and the thoughtful service by the crew were outstanding, and they went above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and safe. An unforgettable experience with amazing customer service — highly recommend!

We had the most incredible day with the crew today. Ed, Bella & Louis were so accommodating and made our day unforgettable, and made our 4 year old daughter Nellie feel very special all day!! (Thankyou Bella!). We swam with so many whales, we were surrounded by about 9 at one point and the crew were so great with being respectful to the whales. We will be back every year! Thanks guys. We are on cloud 9!!

I had an incredible unforgettable whale swim with Hervey Bay Dive Centre!! The crew are experts with great instincts and judgment. No guarantees because of the weather and the whales have to be in curious/playful mood, but the crew try their best.

Our family just went to this cruise and we all loved it. Staffs are amazing. Bella and Luis are so good to looking after all of us throughout the day. The captain is great and funny too. They have spoiled us so much with snacks throughout the cruise. We got to see so many whales. My kids (10,13&15 years old) enjoyed the experience so much and they said it was the best as they got to swim with the whale. Totally recommended this cruise!

We recently went on a whale swim and watch tour with Hervey Bay Dive Centre. It was an incredible experience, as we saw more than 25 whales, which made the trip very special. Unfortunately, we couldn’t swim with the whales as they were with their calves, but the watching itself was absolutely worth it. The only area that could be improved was the catering, which was quite modest compared to other similar tours I’ve been on. Overall, if you’re focused on whale watching, this tour is definitely worth trying!

Fabulous day out on the water. As a non swimmer, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The boat is set up for diving so it is less formal than the whale watch boat but the crew were great with a real enthusiasm for giving everyone the best experience. Hervey Bay Airport

4.0
(368)
Regional airport
Hervey Bay Airport, located in Queensland, Australia, serves as the main airport for the Fraser Coast region. Situated just 8 km from the city center, it offers a convenient gateway to beautiful Hervey Bay. The airport has a calm and relaxed atmosphere, providing a stark contrast to larger airports. While small in size, it boasts enjoyable amenities such as a cafe and facilities. Additionally, visitors can access Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef directly from this airport.
Easy to get in and out. Half an hour of free parking. Not too many flights. Pleasant environment. Just make the signs about the drop off pick up zone more clear.... There is a u shaped section of road in front of the terminal. I know you can't stop on the way in but I am not brave enough to use the parks at the back either because the signage at the entrance is unclear.

The worst airport on planet Earth. If you can drive to your destination, do yourself a favour and drive. Cannot be explained how pathetically useless and dated the system here is. Must be experienced to be understood. The staff are incredibly pathetic, careless and not interested in their customers, having a good old chat amongst themselves while 100+ people wait in line to board a flight we know we are going to miss, despite arriving early. Staff from Qantas especially need training/immediate replacing and the security system is way too over the top, requiring us to basically get half naked and 1 by 1 do spins so they can scan, just to spend 2 minutes asking permission then tapping down our whole body regardless if we say yes or no. Hopefully this review prevents someone having the experience I and over 100 others had! Good riddance!

Got a $350 fine for my husband dropping us and luggage off in what looks like a loading zone for 5 minutes before securing parking..paid $150 in parking fees for 4 days which is cool but this fine is disgraceful.. there’s no signage and no staff guidance. When I rang to pay the fine the lady said there is a fixed camera and they watch it constantly.. total money grab.. absolutely disgraceful.
Ruth M — Google review
Small airport that is a gateway to beautiful Hervey Bay. On arrival, you’re not to far from the cab rank or pick bays. If you have a bit of a wait till the next cab there’s a convenient store style cafe near the exit. Enjoyed looking straight out through the glazing to the tarmac from the public lounge. Note for all lap-toppers - there are no tables or charging areas at both gates 1 & 2, best charge before coming to the airport 😉
Brian K — Google review
In the past year my wife and I have had numerous flights in and out of Hervey Bay. The check-in process has always been excellent with friendly staff from both Jetstar and Qantas but the security screening not so much. Every time we go through the 360deg scanning system we have to wait while the attendant pats down every person in front of us due to false readings from the machine. We have never been through the scanner without it registering at least one false reading. I am sick of getting my arms, knees and other parts of my body patted down when they are not hidden by clothes so there is obviously no concealment. Security is important but that is no excuse for using an obviously faulty machine for such a long period of time.
Geoff D — Google review
Poor signage and a fix camera to fine people dropping off. The whole point of a fine is because people do things that impact others and its used to deter... this is not the case and it's purely revenue raising!
Rockwell S — Google review
This small local airport has 3 Qantaslink flights a day to Brisbane, plus Jetstar flights to Sydney (5 per week) and Melbourne (3 per week). It is also home to flights to Lady Elliot Island, which I think are operated by the resort there. Facilities: before security there is a small café, and once through security there's just the waiting area (with toilets). No lounge. The airport is well staffed for its size and everything operates efficiently (in spite of the ancient and oversensitive body scanner as mentioned by another reviewer).
Badger — Google review
You can wait upto half an hour for baggage collection even when just the Qantaslink is the only plane in. Nothing has changed in many years. Cafe is exy.

Been coming here for over 10 years. The food has always tasted superb; except recently the chickens have become smaller and drier… sometimes you get more chicken in a mini pack than a full chicken with the size difference! Are you kidding me?! Last night I had the rump steak with prawn topper and it was AMAZING! I loved the garlic sauce with the prawns… I could’ve eaten a whole plate of those! And the steak was perfectly cooked to rare – which I found a lot of places struggle to do. *chef’s kiss!

Firstly we got a daily hot buffet breakfast with our stay! Delicious meals! We were even allowed to take extra back to munch on later. Secondly we got a few room service deliveries. Again delicious and wasn't that long of a wait! The ribs were huge and very generous. Banana splits delicious! Everything yum. We also ate out in the restaurant for dinner one night. Again delicious food, fast and friendly service. I think was only 1 mistake with a drink which was cleared up and replaced as soon as brought to their attention. Fantastic and highly recommended! So we did dine in and delivery and we did breakfast, dinner, dessert and room service dinner/dessert.

If I could rate this place 100/5 I would. I had most of the items on the menu throughout the six weeks I was there, and never had one bad dish. Very reasonable price, couldn’t praise the staff and service highly enough, and the food kept me coming back for more. If you’re a seafood lover, you have to stop by Smokey Joe’s and try their seafood hot pot and paella. Two best dishes I’d had in Hervey Bay.

Came here on the weekend and tried the Morton Bay Bug Linguini which was tasty but had very little seafood (even one half shell was empty). Unfortunately, it was somewhat busy and it took about 45 minutes for the food to come out. I also came here for the buffet breakfast which was also delicious, however the service let the restaurant down as there were delays with cutlery (no forks), plates, eggs, and hash browns. Overall, I would come back again but hope that the service would be a bit more efficient.

We enjoyed a fantastic dinner and great buffet breakfast at Smokey Joe’s, while guests of the Ramada Resort at Urangan 🏖️ The restaurant boasts a modern style with an assortment of lovely framed photos & quotes from Hollywood and politics Indoor and poolside terrace seating provides a variety of areas, both intimate and spacious, to suit every occasion There’s a small stage for live music and a great specials menu to accompany the thorough regular dining options Happy hour begins at 5:30 each evening, with a Hollywood themed cocktail selection to start the evening 🍹 Access from parking is via a lift or foyer staircase, with level access from the resort areas Our meals were of a very high standard with portions size, presentation and quality, above our expectations 🏆 Highly recommended to locals and visitors, looking to enjoy a great dining experience in a modern venue 👍

Food was high quality (I recommend the Hervey Bay Fish and Chips). The dining experience was really lovely with views of the pool lit up at night. The resturant ambience wasn't has comfortable as I would have wanted. The resturant was nice and clean and the price of the food was fair. I recommend to go there for dinner :) Note: They also offer Gluten Free options which was really nice.

Had the ribs. Sauce was average but most likely out of a bottle. The ribs were terrible, very very dry and tasteless. Chips were also terrible. This meal was worth $10 and not the $30 they charged

Day 5

Off the beaten path
For day 5, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Torquay Beach. Not quite as popular as Wetside Water Park, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Absolutely Love this little gem. I was staying weekly as I set up my new business. I now stay monthly & it's my home away from home. Staff are super friendly & accommodating. Rooms are always clean. They Have everything i need.

Poor value, overpriced tiny cabin with basic fitout, beds that are not made up, non soundproof walls, and only one aircon for the entire cabin. For context, we paid $362 per night over the peak holiday season. It's probably worth $180 in reality - basically think basic cabin at caravan park, nothing more. I wanted to stress that the two-bedroom cabin we stayed in was really really small, and the photos on the website and Booking.com looked a lot bigger, and considering the price we paid, I thought it was also meant to be bigger after seeing the photos online. The only saving grace was really friendly service at check in. Although I'm not sure if I'm happy to pay $362 a night for a few minutes of encounter with a lovely staff. I am really dreading my second night stay tomorrow and wished I can cancel.

One of the cleanest campsite bathrooms I’ve ever seen! The facilities were spotless and very well maintained throughout our stay. You can really tell that cleanliness is a top priority here. Everything was regularly cleaned, fully stocked, and in excellent condition. It made our camping experience so much more comfortable. Highly recommended!

Dog friendly. Cabins are clean and spacious- the bathroom is a lot more outdated than the cabin but that was not a bother to us. It was raining so we did not access the pool area. Well equipped big outdoor kitchen area with a lot of seating and Smart TV. It has an air fryer, pans, pots, cutlery and utensils- 2 big industrial fridges if needed also. Staff was lovely we did late check in however my in laws got a dog goodie bag upon check in which was lovely. Easy check in and check out process. Would recommend.

We booked a three day tour to K’Gari and we stayed the day before and the day after the tour in the Tasman caravan park. This was one of the nicest and cleanest caravan parks we’ve been to on our road trip on the entire East Coast. We loved it here!

This was the least value for money park during our 6 week trip. Expensive, small site, quite a distance to the beach, lots of permanents.

Recently stayed here in a cabin and were very impressed. It has the best camp kitchen I've ever come across and literally everything you need from crockery and cutlery, fresh dish clothes, tea towels and every kitchen utensil possible. You could literally just bring food and not be disappointed. Kids enjoyed the pool and the laundry even had free powder! Some cabins even allow small dogs inside. Cabin was clean and never ran out of hot water.

Located at the Fraser Coast Cultural Centre, Hervey Bay Regional Gallery features a diverse collection of artworks by regional and national artists, along with rotating exhibitions every 6-8 weeks. Visitors can immerse themselves in paintings, sculptures, and glasswork while enjoying the opportunity to explore different artistic perspectives. Additionally, nearby attractions such as the Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum offer an interactive experience showcasing life before modern technology.
An iconic whale statue to visit. We had come the only day the gallery was closed (Monday so you know), though this didn't hinder our visit that much. Everything was made up for in a luscious green park that extends as its front yard. Had no idea that it existed until we arrived. The locals seem to enjoy the park very much, walking their families and their four legged friends. Reccomend taking a stroll. It's a pleasant place to be and parking is great.

Absolutely Lovley galley the Gallery Attendant/front of house staff member was really informative and friendly on both local information and the artwork in gallery and everything else you could need. Can't recall her name but we were there the afternoon of the 23rd of July 2025. Great resource for Hervey bay. Big fan of Phobe Paradise Mural (pictured)! x

This place was very underwhelming. Two large spaces exhibiting idigeonous arts and crafts which were worth the visit. The problem was the empty space took away some of the impact. The staff were friendly. Space could of been used better in my be opinion.
Glenn H — Google review
Wasnt sure what to expect but we stopped for the whale statue. Interesting enough place but i thought the whole park and art area was a nice place to stop and rest for a while. Had kids origami to do as well which was a nice thing for the kids.

Definitely worth the visit if you're in Hervey Bay. I came here with my 5 year old boy today, and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately I am terrible with names, but the lady with the light colour shoulder length hair has impeccable customer service. Thank you for giving us such a lovely experience today. We will be back next time.

It was free so it was worth it but if I had to pay I wouldn't of bothered as it takes about 10 to 15mins to walk through everything and there wasn't alot there. The computer interactions weren't working either.

Beach
Torquay Beach, stretching 800 meters along the coast, is a popular spot for surfers and offers opportunities for swimming and fishing. It's an ideal destination for families with its flat, sandy shores perfect for water activities. The beach is lined with parklands and amenities while nearby shops and eateries provide convenience. Visitors can also enjoy a market selling local trinkets on Saturdays.
A nice beach with great sunset views! The water is very calm without any big waves. Heaps of places you can get food from nearby to have lunch/dinner by the beach.

Beautiful beach! We had a lovely walk watching the sun rise one day and just throwing rocks under the sun the next day. Absolutely loved it
Sabrina Y — Google review
Lovely beach, the dog off leash part is confusing, no real signs but it’s about a 20-50m stretch at best between the pedestrian boardwalk track beach opening and that’s it, dogs are prohibited either side. However it doesn’t seem like anyone listens to this or even knows as there were lots of on lead and off leash dogs either side of the “dogs prohibited” area. Edited** just read another review saying the dog off leash or even just the dog area is 2km away on Zephyr St.
Simi B — Google review
This is a very nice beach. On a sunny day, it is great to walk along this beach and enjoy the scenery. Do take care with the water, because I did see sewage pipes run straight into the ocean, so I suspect the water quality is not great (although I did not go in to find out). On Saturdays, there is also a market by the beach selling local trinkets.

Great place with heaps of car parks along the esplanade. Great place for a fish or to grab some fish and chips and enjoy lunch on the beach. There is a playground for the children and toilet blocks that were fairly clean.

Miniature golf course
Mini Golf Hervey Bay, situated in Torquay, offers a delightful day out for families and friends. The 18-hole course provides shaded play during the day and illuminated rounds at night. It's an ideal spot for group outings, with clean facilities and options for food and drinks. Visitors praise the enjoyable challenge levels of the course and appreciate the friendly staff. Additionally, they rave about the delicious food available on-site, making it a fantastic value for all ages to enjoy.
Mini Golf Hervey Bay is a true 18 par experience, offering a beautifully landscaped fairway of fun with strategic design and playful hazards! Our disability diverse social group enjoyed manoeuvring their wheelchairs around the first 9 holes, not flat and certainly required a little help, but wide enough for chair access! The hot coffees were a nice warm up before the game! The staff were an absolute delight and their sense of humour and friendly service will definitely have us planning our next experience soon! Thoroughly enjoyable! It did get competitive and re-matches are in order, after all!

Michelle went out of her way to make my twin daughters birthday super fun & seamless. This included a decorated table, kids were shown how to play, heaps of yummy party food supplied, birthday goodie bags(small fee) and drinks available for purchase for parents. Worth every cent and would absolutely recommend. Thank you to the team @ Mini Golf Hervey Bay for a great afternoon out.

This was a great place for a morning out with the family. Staff were very friendly and the grounds were immaculate. Pricing is fair and there is plenty of parking available. The course is only one block from the beach as well, so it's really easy to create a great morning at the beach with the family. Definitely recommend!

If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine, Gringo's Mexican Cantina is a must-visit destination that won't break the bank. Known for its generous portion sizes and delicious meat dishes, this charming eatery offers great value for your money. While the salsa could use a little more flair, the overall experience is delightful. The service here is impressively quick, making it an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy a meal together without long waits.
Cute little Mexican restaurant with very generous portions. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food tasted great.

my family and i go to gringos all the time, for years. we always love the food and the amazing owners ofcourse. the past two times i have gone, there is this beautiful young lady working (i didnt get her name). she has amazing customer service, always has a smile on her face and is very resilient when it comes to “issues” you could say. i hope she reads this because i didnt get a chance to tell her tonight. it is also well priced, especially for quality and quantity of food. overall it never disappoints and will forever and always recommend to eat here!!
Savannah-Jade L — Google review
Im a mad keen Mexican fan. I have it everywhere I go. The first point I should make is this place is super reasonable pricing for the quality and size meals your getting. The serves are generous and the meat is quite delicious. The salsa on top is basically a can of tomatoes which is a bit lazy but its still not bad. It could be better though. The service was also super fast. If they worked on their flavours and sauce a bit they could lift the overall quality and impact of the food.

We ate here for dinner on a Sunday night in October 2021 and the food was excellent. The mean reviews don't make sense to me. Perhaps they are from friends of the competition. It happens. Please check my photos and decide for yourself whether that looks yummy. It was. No after effects, no oversalting or msg. The service was excellent. The place was lovely and clean. Highly recommended. If we had stayed longer, we definitely would have come back. Very reasonable prices. Alcohol available.

Very clean and well maintained building. The staff are friendly and helpful and get your meal to you in a nice and quick fashion. I've never had any issues with this restaurant. It's nicely sized, doesn't feel to overly open yet is large enough to comfortably fit and cater to large groups, this makes it a common place for work related lunches and dinners as well as birthday groups and large friend and family groups. This particular restaurant is also one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in the area, being run by Chinese owners as well.

Great food at an acceptable price. Waitress was very nice and helpful. Just need the buffet topped up a bit quicker as some of the dishes were completely gone when new fresh food arrived. Also some sort of dessert for the kids would be good. Nice big restaurant with child friendly atmosphere.

Mum's Charcoal & Grill is a beloved take-away spot known for its delectable offerings and friendly service. Customers rave about the consistently delicious and fresh food as well as the attentive and amiable staff.
I was craving for pasta and this place came up on gmaps with all reviews saying it tastes like “homemade” aussie mum food. Give it a try and can say their CHICKEN MUSHROOM PASTA is a top notch!!!! Especially combined with pork roast and cheesy potato. Omg!!! I got the last plate of the mushroom pasta and couldn’t even get more because it was sold out 😭😭😭 The staff was so friendly, i asked for a lil bit more pork crackling and he gave it to us cause my bf & me really like pork crackling 🤤 Photo doesn’t do justice, it looks messy but will mess your head once you taste it! The absolute best meal I have had in so long Portions are massive and I'm a big eater, so much selection, all the flavours were absolutely perfect If my mum cooked like this establishment, I would have stayed living with her. My wife is a bit jealous of how good their food was in my eyes. Friendly staff, clean tables and chairs, nice plates and cutlery.

I've eaten at a lot of "carvery" type venues, and mums rates up there with the best. The shop is clean and spacious, the staff are friendly and very welcoming. But most importantly the food is delicious, it's honestly so good that even if you've gotten the wrong food it's still amazing. Also, unlike many places, the family serving of chips will legit serve a family.

Our favourite Thai restaurant in Hervey Bay. Best to make a booking as it’s usually always busy. We always order a seafood soup as a starter and it is so delicious!! Our mains vary as we aim to try all of the dishes!! Staff are always friendly. Take away available. 10/10

Eat here for the lunch special and try pad ped with chicken for $17. The portion is generous, and the taste is good and the salad is refreshing. It was said spicy but not too spicy for me. For drink, coconut water with jelly is a must. The service is good and love the cozy ambience & decorations.

I’ve been eating here for the past 4 years, both dine in and take away, I’ve never been disappointed I enjoyed every little morsel. Unfortunately I’ve been ill, and all I wanted is chicken fried rice, and it was delicious, wonderful, and perfect. Thanks to the team at Tasty Thai.

We had a reservation for two at Tasty Thai in Hervey Bay last night. Upon arrival, we were directed to our table rather than being shown to it, which was a little unexpected but perhaps the usual practice there. However, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Three other groups were seated after us, all of whom received prompt attention — water was served, orders were taken, and one table even had drinks and entrées delivered. During the 25 minutes we were seated, no staff member approached us, nor were we offered water or given any acknowledgment. After waiting with no service at all, we decided to leave. Even as we exited, no one appeared to notice or address the fact that we were leaving without being served. The lack of attention and basic service was unacceptable. Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to try the food, as the service alone made it a very poor dining experience.
Peter D — Google review
Our second visit here. Disappointed to find that the tempura prawns on the menu are not local or Australian prawns. The waitress had to ask the kitchen. She said they were imported vannemei prawns. I said no thanks and ordered a stir fry chicken dish which while full of flavour lacked chicken. Chicken Pad Thai was also tasty but lacking chicken. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would come again just disappointed about the prawns.
Karen L — Google review
We loved everything about Tasty Thai, from the cosy ambiance to the taste of authentic Thai food. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for richness in flavors, enlightenment of tastebuds or simply finger licking good food. We started with the mixed entree for 2 and also shared a Green Curry Chicken and a Massaman Beef Curry and 10/10 for all dishes. The meals were served very quickly by the attentive and friendly staff. Our new favourite Thai Restaurant in Hervey Bay 👍👍👍
