Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Hervey Bay

To be honest, this café has a great location with lovely scenery and friendly-looking staff, but that’s about it. The food was really disappointing — completely lacking in flavor. If the team could improve the menu, it would make a huge difference. At the moment, it’s more of a photo spot than a dining destination. Don’t waste your money on the food — it’s not worth it. I also feel compelled to mention the service, which was surprisingly poor. I first visited in 2019 and remember taking photos here. This time, however, I was very disappointed. No water was offered, and when I politely asked, the staff’s response was rude: “Help yourself.” I ordered a flat white, and a staff member brought two cups over, claimed one was my latte, and walked away without answering when I tried to clarify. Then she just served another table and ignored me completely. The restaurant didn’t feel very clean either — the atmosphere was tense, and the staff all looked stressed and overwhelmed. It’s such a shame, given the beautiful location.

Awesome location and good vibes. We went here for dinner, watched the sunset. Goan vindaloo and prawn gnocchi were both yummy dishes from the specials menu, both had a bit of spice to them! Garlic bread was also quite good. Great aperol and good local tap beer.

Enzo’s on the Beach is the perfect spot no matter the time of day. Whether it’s cocktails and ciders in the afternoon, a relaxed lunch, or a beachfront breakfast, it always delivers. Great food, stunning views and an unbeatable vibe - anytime is a good time at Enzo’s!

We dined here on Sunday 28th September for brunch, we sat at a table but wanted to move to a table closer the outside area, we were told it was reserved at 2pm even though it waa dirty still, once they cleaned it, it wasnt marked as reserved, we were seated at 145, the table we wanted was still was empty the whole entire time we ate and 1 hour after we there still empty, we were really annoyed at this as they could have checked to see if that reservation was going to make it, still it remained empty when we left, this says alot about service or caring about patrons and going above and beyond in your job. My sister ordered 2 cocktails different types and said they were delicious, meals were good, burgers were enjoyed, karaage chicken was enjoyed, the oysters were devoured, garlic bread abit greasy but enjoyed. Overall enjoyed dining here, just wish they checked if that reserved table was still coming because it sat empty for over an hour. Views are great, ambience is nice. Service needs attention, meaning greeting customers well. We aren't hervey bay residents, we were on a holiday so this was a stand out for me in my stars rating on service, you can see in the picture the table were wanted to sit at remains empty.

What a top little spot. Ample on the menu to choose from, food tasted great and even the kids sizes are big. For a Saturday afternoon, was a busy place, but service was quick. Few little let downs however. Some couple at a table had a dog inside which was barking occasionally, which was annoying. Plus there was loud dance music playing. For a beach side cafe/restaurant, would have been nicer to have more appropriate tunes.

Highly recommended!! Fantastic place right on the beach!! Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious and came out fast, even on a busy Saturday morning. Best Affogato I've ever had!!

The Dock Hervey Bay offers a great waterfront dining experience with a lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and a solid selection of tapas-style dishes. The food is flavorful, and the cocktail menu is well-curated. Overall a really nice dinner, tapas means small plates. Yes the plates are small but the portions were large for some of the dishes so you have to order quite a lot. if you want a good dinner which all adds up, two adults and one child a couple of cocktails $160.

For our first time dining here 28th September 2025 on recommendation, we had a table of 6, we were told only 2 sliders left upon ordering our food, our booking was 630pm, last 2 sliders were bought out on mini toast, shocked as we were expecting slider buns. The arancini was delicious, hoping there was more choices of arancini available, but they were very delicious Scallops kilpatrick i didnt like needs improving, scallops weren't seared tasted like theyre microwaved, duck cigars my son enjoyed, fish tacos were a hit at our table. Lemon lime bitters was made exactly how I was hoping, im not a hervey bay resident so I was expecting alot from this place, seems the waiters dont really communicate well with each other either.

We turned up and these guys didnt have a table but somehow found room for us. The food was fantastic, the staff were funny, friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was welcoming, chilled and casual. Thank you for a really lovely evening

Sept 2025 - 10 Stars Each time we return we are gifted with warm welcomes, great service, smile and top notch plates. If you are in the area, book a table and try their tapes plates, you will love it. Xmas Eve 2023 - 5 Stars Got some photos this time! 😊 What an outstanding restaurant. The food is like they have Gordon Ramsay locked up in the kitchen. Every dish was impeccable! The service staff are amazing, all smiling and it is a testament to the owners, who also have a great sense of humour. Phoebe looked after our table and was all smiles. Sorry I offered a taste of the Squealing Pig Rose' as she was not 18 yet. We were the last table of the day and were made so welcome. Merry Xmas The Dock team and see you in the New Year August 2023 - 5 Stars Why I didn't take a photo of the stunning dishes served has me wanting to return asap to capture the stunning work the chefs here do. Servings were perfect for four of us as each plate had four pieces. The waitress guided us through the menu, so we had about 11 plates! Each dish was so tasty. The prawns were plump and cooked perfectly. The location is relaxing, overlooking the Marina. Parking was a little hard to secure a spot on the weekend with all the whale watching tours underway. Make sure you book a table and enjoy the hospitality

We have walked past and looked at their menu a few times and looked good but at the times we were here it wasn't very busy and didn't try it. What a mistake, a friend in our village recommended it and we went in a few days later and paid them a visit and really enjoyed it we are just so happy we went just as the lunch rush was just over at about 1.30pm. The service was very good and informative and the food was first class with a very good drink menu as well. My wife always tries new cocktails and was a pleasant surprise having something different to try as well. I enjoy drinking beers from where the food menu comes from and look forward to our next visit.

Gutted. Was really exited to try this place after reading the reviews. Was our last night touring Queensland before heading home and we were looking forward to a bit of luxury. We ordered the Italian dock plate, the pork and fennel meatballs, a signature cocktail and a Prosecco. The Italian plate looked quite impressive at first glance with a lot of food for the price but unfortunately it lacked anything in the way of flavour. The only thing on the plate that wasn’t a budget store bought item was the roasted cherry tomatoes and the were unseasoned in any way and very bland. Also, what are corn chips doing on an Italian board? Very confusing. We left over half the food. The pork and fennel meatballs were lacking on the fennel and quite dry, they did come with a lemon mustard sauce on the side but that was overpowering and made them worse. Again, we left half of them uneaten. The cocktail was a take on a pina colada and sounded great because t was ridiculously sweet and even though I’m a real sweet tooth, I found it unpleasant. The Prosecco was good though. When I paid for the meal, I was not asked how we liked it. I would have happily shared this feedback in person if asked. Simple mistakes here that would take much to fix. Better quality ingredients with some seasoning would improve everything dramatically not to mention tasting food and drinks before sending out.

Just wowed away. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful welcoming staff. Welcomed with water and the set menu for this month. Each dish explained and each sounding as amazing as the last and the special touch was knowing it was all so local with a guide on the back of the menu showing where everything has been sourced. 100% recommend. Will return time and time again.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the night and food was perfect. I had been wanting to try Odyssey for some time, but I do believe I chose the best time to come. The service was just wonderful, high spec, but very welcoming too, such a fantastic mix. Can't fault the food at all, and loved being able to have a wide selection of "per glass" wines that matched beautifully. Will be back again, and in the meantime rave about this place A LOT!!

Odyssey Bistro is an absolute standout in Hervey Bay. Their philosophy of using fresh, locally sourced produce shines through in every dish - you can really taste the quality. The menu is creative and full of flavour, the atmosphere is intimate yet welcoming and the service is spot on. A true celebration of local food and a must-visit for anyone who loves dining with heart.

Overall, I had quite a good time here. It can get a bit too loud but I guess it depends on the crowd you get. I tried: 🍸Odyssey Margarita — a medley of tequila, BBQ pineapple, lime & jalapeño salt. 🐑 The most flavourful and tender lamb skewers that works so well with the hummus, crispy chickpeas, pickled onion, orange and parsley dressing. 🦐 The portion, wow. fresh baked prawns with the creamiest Balinese curry. 🐟 🥩 I wasn’t too crazy about the mains. But they cook both the fish and steak at the right texture but the toppings were just ok for me. 🥔 Potatoes roasted in duck fat was crispy and savoury. 🍰 I loooove the orange almond cake; the chocolate tart was alright.

Such incredible flavours!!! Very generous servings, so fresh and vibrant. I was impressed with the wine list selection too. Loved Odyssey!! Would definitely come back.

I recently dined at Odyssey Restaurant expecting a fine dining experience given the $300 bill. Unfortunately the evening fell well short of even basic hospitality standards. From the outset, the service was unprofessional and disengaged. Staff delivered the menu in a robotic manner, with NO effort to guide or engage. When concerns about the meal were raised, staff's response was dismissive and belittling - and attitude entirely at odds with the principles of quality service. The food itself was equally disappointing. Dishes were excessively fatty (pork) and poorly balanced, while the cheese platter offered only a single selection. A panna cottage that resembled a marshmallow, paired with frozen fruit felt careless and far from refined. None of the courses reflected the level of skill or creativity expected at this price point. Ambience was also lacking. For a restaurant positioning itself as fine dining the absence of atmosphere, attentive, friendly service, and well executed dishes made the experience- feel unworthy of the cost. Overall, the visit was deeply unsatisfying. When spending at this level, diners should expect quality, care and respect. Unfortunately Odyssey Bistro failed to deliver on every front.

We had the pleasure to dine at Odyssey during our summer holidays in Queensland. The restaurant was recommended on the Good Food guide, and after checking their website, we decided to try our luck at the last minute. The team was kind enough to accommodate us with the last 2 seats, at the bar. We had a great night still, looking at the barman shake cocktails and mocktails and serving wine. We love that the menu is a 'market' menu. It changes week after week depending on what is in season. The team in the kitchen works with "local" suppliers, growers, farmers or dairy farms about 300km around. We both really enjoyed the flavour combinations and how the chef plays with textures. Every dish was fresh and few components only were fried, which we lived (some restaurant really to much on fried components for crunch in my view). The menu was delicious from start to finish. The service was lovely, there for every of our needs without being too present. We will definitely be back next time we visit that beautiful part of Australia.

Fine fish and chips! The fish was tasty, but unfortunately you have to ask for spoon and fork. Later on I saw others walking away with some sauce to be enjoyed with the fish. Apparently I had to ask for that too. The chips could have been a bit more crispy too. Overall a fine dinner especially considering the relative price.

Wow so good! We had Red Emperor and Coral Trout both battered. Great value for the serving size. It's too easy to walk across the road to sit and eat on the beach. Will be back. I forgot to mention about the ice cream shop on the corner 😁 Perfect

I love this place so much. Every time I have a planned trip to Hervey Bay from Brisbane, I dream of their red parrot fish n chips and sea scallops. 😆

Absolutely delicious, fresh and abundant. The fish is fresh and smoothly , the chips one of the best that i ate in Australia . Quick to serve the food and the staff is so lovely 😍

We ordered two fish and chips for 2 Person for a fair price. The fries and fish were crispy and very tasty. However, we couldn't finish our portions of fries because they were too much. Next time, one portion of fish and chips and an extra fish will suffice.

Our fish and prawn cutlets were absolutely cooked to perfection. Loved how they separate the fish and prawn cutlets in separate dishes and none of it was dripping in oil. Excellent service, great value for money and a huge menu to choose from, not to mention the fresh fish and seafood available as well. Highly recommend.

Wow this place was GREAT! Huge servings with reasonable pricing, so fresh! Chips were crispy and fresh, fish was 10/10 and calamari also great! Will come back here next time I visit 100% (and I’m super fussy when it comes to fish and chips) Thankyou :)

We really enjoyed our meals here at Santinis new location it has definitely improved in many ways, same amazing food and menu as before but service and staff both top class. Lovely ambience inside and out .Only criticism was drinks were not served on a tray (bad look) also served across the table instead of from the side. When visiting Hervey Bay again we will definitely return. Loved our dining experience.

A lovely restaurant to visit. Reasonably quiet evening due to NRL grandfinal 🙂 A TV was on view for patron's to view, we were asked if we would like it on first . We stayed until the end. The food was was so enjoyable and plenty of it. Beef cheeks (Marsala sauce chosen) yummy. Sicilian Barramundi, delish. Scallops ,gelato...Drinks and Lemoncello to finish. A good night with the staff very attentive. We will return. 🤌

We had a lovely meal. The night was really busy and service was a bit slow , the staff were flat out and working hard , but in all the place is beautiful and the food was 100% . Will definitely be going again love it . Thanks so much for a lovely night.

To our delight the food we ordered at Santini’s was tasty and fresh. Baked Brie with salsa and toast as a starter. My wife ordered the eye fillet served with roasted potatoes, a whole portobello mushroom, covered in a nice jus and fresh broccolini and asparagus. I had scallop and prawns over fettuccine in a fresh tomato sauce and cherry tomatoes, sprinkled with some real parmigiana. Suggestions for the owners…. If you are going to hire young staff, you may need to spend more time upskilling them. We were seated at a table which was not cleaned properly. Even the waitress who came back to clean it agreed. Last, the reservation portal may need a look at. We were only given an option to book no later than 5:45 pm or after 7:45pm for a party of two. But well into our dinner, we noticed there were still tables for two available. Maybe it’s best to ring rather than use the online booking system.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to I could not fault the food however I felt a little rushed with the service and it wasn't a busy evening. The table water was not replaced until we had asked twice. Overall it was a wonderful evening and you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful meal at Santinis last night. We were seated and attended to promptly. Food was delicious, portion sizes were generous. Staff were friendly and willing to offer recommendations and help. Only down side was it was very loud inside due to a large party. After speaking to one of the waitresses she suggested a romantic table outside for next time. We will be back.

Very delicious breakfast, portion sizes are large and take-home boxes are available. The corn fritters legitimately were delicious - I thought they would be frozen reheated pre-made. But they looked and tasted freshly handmade. Great views of Urangan beach and the pier.

Went with 4 other ladies and had a great time. Food was lovely, fresh and tasty. Atmosphere was great as it was a gorgeous day to be out. Our server was very friendly and personable. Would be great if they were open past 2pm as we could have kicked back with a few more drinks and some desert, but otherwise a lovely day

We visited Salt for breakfast on our way out of town. We booked a table ahead of time (which I highly recommend). When booking, I requested a high chair for our infant daughter, and upon arrival, the staff member brought one over and wiped it down in front of us — a small but thoughtful touch that was much appreciated. We ordered via the QR code at our table, which was convenient and easy to use. The meals arrived quickly and were delicious. The eggs Benedict was excellent — the sauce was creamy and full of flavour. I added avocado on the side, which was fresh and perfectly ripe. Another member of our group ordered the bacon and eggs and received a very generous portion of bacon — plenty to share and still have leftovers. The only downside was the price of the toast — $9 for two slices of white bread felt a bit steep, especially as it was mainly for our infant daughter. A special mention to the lovely older lady who seated us and was serving tables. She was incredible — constantly on the move, managing orders, seating customers, and helping others who couldn’t use the QR code system. She’s an absolute asset to the team and worth every penny.

This has become my new local for breakfast. You need to book as this place is always busy. The food and coffee is great and the service is excellent. I had Corn fritters and couldn't finish it. I've had the pancakes too, and they are delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Aussie Traveller 🇦🇺 Salt Cafe Urangan Hervey Bay is a very vibrant place to go for breakfast, lunch or a coffee. Great food, great service, all the staff are friendly and the food comes out pretty promptly. A very popular cafe so if you have a group it might be an idea to book. The view over the bay is stunning. Access for people with disabilities and toilets are available, I would certainly recommend a visit.

Always a fantastic experience at Salt Café. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, coffee is perfectly brewed, smoothies are amazing and the service is consistently warm and friendly. Highly recommend!

Came here a few weeks back when visiting Hervey Bay. A beautiful spot with delicious food! I ordered the Canadian Pancakes and they were Devine! Portions are very generous, children also enjoyed their meals. Waiter was lovely and so was the atmosphere, hope to make it back one day soon :)

We went for dinner with our toddler and had a nice meal! Food: food was great! And huge portions. I had the burger and it was perfectly cooked (link in the middle). My husband had the Parma and said it was good, standard pub Parma. My son had fish and chip and loved it. We ordered the Mezze plate for $30 and thought it would be ok size for an entree….it was huge! Could definitely feed 4 for an entree! Service: You have to order at the bar which is absolutely fine but you go to one counter to order food, another to order drinks. My husband ordered his beer then ordered my cocktail and was told he had to to go to the main bar for cocktails so ended up 3 different spots to order in total. QR code on the table would definitely be better. Food came very fast, mains came 5 mins after our Mezze plate. Not ideal but not really a problem! The staff were all very kind and friendly and willing to help. The gentleman that seated us was great! Atmosphere: atmosphere was fine, we were there early so was quiet. Only down side was they no longer have a kids play area. Not the end of the world as there is a park across the road that I took our son to and they gave us colouring in but would be nice if they could rebuild their kids area (there was a fire). All in all a good place to eat with a toddler!

We love going to the Beach House Hotel. You have fantastic friendly hard working staff who are very efficient at their craft. You cater for vegans by offering the not chicken schnitzel and will allow us to have it as a meal with vegetables, we would like to see more vegan options with no oil or nuts. The food is great, the portions and price are reasonable, the atmosphere though really busy at times is pleasant. I highly recommend your establishment to anyone.

Beautiful meal could not fault. Our choices for mains Garlic Prawns, Calamari, Fish, all meals came with salad and chips. The best aspect all locally caught seafood. We will be back on our next visit to HB.

Fantastic food and service! The signature garlic prawns were delicious and my Aunty said the battered fish was the best she has had in years. Which is lovely since we're in Hervey Bay for her birthday. We didn't have a booking but the staff were amazing at getting us a table. Will definitely be back!

Went here for dinner last night and hubby and I were a bit reluctant as we haven't been here for well over a year. We both were pleasantly surprised, the food was amazing and the staff attentive and professional. Nice to see our go to pub is worth visiting again, we will be back and be quite happy to bring family and friend's again. A peaceful place to while away some time while enjoying a Devonshire Tea. The coffee was great and the scones are huge, so much so, that we shared one! Not bad at all. The grounds/garden need some attention and that distracted from the overall atmosphere.

We used to love coming here but it is getting quite run down. The tables are never wiped down when someone leaves and they definitely need to be because the birds and ibis land immediately. Always short staffed. Today we waited almost 40 minutes for a fairly ordinary pizza. We couldn’t finish it all so asked for a box. We were charged $2 extra! A

I had a wonderful breakfast experience at this charming restaurant with a beautiful garden that's pet-friendly. It's a delightful place to start the day with your furry friend. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. I loved how accommodating they were to pets, making it a great spot for dog owners. Highly recommended.

There's nothing not to like here. I've been four times now. First time was with a group and no one in the 20 or so people had a complaint. The open air seating in the bush setting is beautiful. If I had to find a negative, I guess a windy or very wet day it would not be so nice. I went once when it was cooler and drizzling but we were quite comfortable in our hut with a warm drink and yummy food. If you're scared of birds it's probably not the best place for you as we had a few different birds hanging around. There is a lovely short walk too.

Incredible food and fantastically relaxing Balinese styled seating areas! Chef 👨🏽‍🍳 is bang 💥 on with flavours and food styles. We had blackened salmon, which was done to Cajun perfection. Also had the calamari salad which was superb! The salad dressing was incredible with just the right balance of everything. Paired with some bubbles, our lunch was perfection 🤩👌🏽

Beautiful spot for lunch, as you are surrounded by nature and wildlife. We were able to sit under a tiki styled roofed area (many individual ones for group bookings to enjoy) and watch the ducks stroll by, birds perch next to us while we eat and we even saw a couple of baby turtles. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The group tried the fish and chips, wagyu burger and chips, meat lovers pizza, salads, open styled sandwiches, and a selection of beverages. Food was cooked very well and we all enjoyed our meals. The portion sizes were very generous but we were able to take leftovers away with us. We enjoyed the little walks they have around the grounds and it's abundance of wildlife. A great spot for families.

Hands down the best meal we had in Hervey Bay. Arrived at 5:45pm with no booking, they were able to find a table for 2 of us. Baked scallop has perfect amount of curry spice, literally took the dish for another level. Seafood chowder is rich, flavourful as it should be, we also loved the lamb shank. It's a bit pricey but the food was outstanding and generous portion, absolutely worth it. Staff were very attentive, checking in regularly to ensure we had a good time. Overall such a wonderful dining experience, thank you !

One of my favourite dining experiences ever! Next time we're in Hervey Bay we will definitely take the time to book the seafood platter in advance. But what we ordered was so delicious it's hard to be disappointed! Highly recommend the bugs and the fish of the day.

Banksia Seafood & Grill is a true gem in Hervey Bay, and our recent experiences have confirmed it’s now one of the best restaurants in town. On our last visit, we kicked off the meal with Tempura Prawns and Spicy Speck Kilpatrick for entrées—both were exceptional, with the prawns light and crispy and the Kilpatrick offering a bold, smoky kick and plenty of flavour. For mains, we both chose the Lamb Shank, Rogan Josh style. Wow—the shanks arrived plump, tender, and juicy, easily some of the best we’ve had. The Rogan Josh flavours were subtle yet perfectly balanced, packing plenty of depth without overwhelming the lamb. It was so generous and delicious that there simply wasn’t room for dessert! Even on a busy night, the staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service and helping make the occasion special. The team’s professionalism and warmth stood out, despite how bustling the restaurant was. Banksia Seafood & Grill has set a new standard for dining in the region, and we’ll certainly be back this week to try the highly recommended seafood platter for two, in celebration of our wedding anniversary. Highly recommended for anyone seeking top-notch cuisine, standout service, and a memorable dining experience in Hervey Bay.

We had an extremely lovely lunch today. The Seafood Platter is a must try! The oysters were super fresh, there was a great selection of yummy fruits. It was just the perfect mix of everything over two plates. I’ll be back to try more of what Banksia has to offer.

I never leave reviews but can not recommend Banksia enough! What an absolute amazing dining experience. When I called to make the reservation I explained we were here on holiday and when driving around this place caught our eye, the lady taking the reservation stated we wouldn't be disappointed for choosing this restaurant and it definitely lived up to that. We had the Hervey Bay Scallops with sweet potato purèe, spiced lamb rump and the Morton Bay bugs and delicious is an understatement, just beyond amazing !! I also tried the Back to Black Margarita and it is my new favourite drink. I will be sad to go back to Victoria and not be able to get it again. To all the staff at Banksia thank you for such an amazing experience

If you're ever in Hervey Bay and looking for an upscale dinner, you may want to consider Banksia. We came up to go whale-watching and needed to arrange dinner for seven people. Since I had done my homework, I was already aware the Banksia seemed to be an ideal selection after our drive up from Brissy. We had to sit outside due to when we placed our reservation, but this was not a problem. The inside of the restaurant is very bright and tastedully decorated and is great for a romantic dinner as well as larger parties. Our server, Angel, did a wonderful derful job of guiding us through the menu and getting everyone's orders recorded and into the kitchen. She had a great energy and was super attentive to all of our needs during our dinner. Their listing here does not show the kid's menu and we were only able to see it upon request at the restaurant. This may be an opportunity for families looking to take everyone out for a night on the town, but who may have second thoughts given the absence of this info. The food was very tasty and arrived at our table in a timely manner. All-in-all, we lad a lovely experience at Banksia.

Only been once, so your mileage may vary, but was surprised by the quality of the food. Initially I thought it was on the expensive side, but their servings are absolutely massive, most can be shared between 2 people. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Great atmosphere with very friendly and motivated staff. Luke was our waiter and did an amazing job! Great lumberjack/cabin in the woods vibe to it with a beautiful open layout decking area as well. An awesome Black Bear statue on arrival as well... the place made me and my beard feel at home!! Food side of things... Best garlic bread i think i have ever had with the whiskey, caramelized onion on top, YUM! My partner had the Baby Back SunPork Pork Rib Whole Rack @$35 with roast veg and fries, which just fell off the bone and was to die for!! (I had to help her finish them as they were massive!) very well priced for the size you get! I myself had the Smoked Nolan's Private Selection Beef BBQ brisket outside was amazing but very dry through the middle and inedible even with extra sauce given. Massive meal and great value but based on the brisket given on the night i would not order it again. Will definitely be back to try all the other options in the near future!!

I am so glad a friend of mine recommended this place to me (Josh Rimmington). As we walked up to the restaurant the first thing I noticed was the absolute delicious smell of wood fired pizza. I wasn't sure what was on the menu but I hoped like hell that it was the pizza that was making me salivate as I walked closer to the front door. Upon entering my curiosity was confirmed, there was a wood-fired pizza oven at the front of the venue and in the foyer where we waited was a massive 8ft + tall bear greeting us with it's shiny teeth. It wasn't long before a friendly waitress came to us and took us to our table where she quickly ran through the drinks menu (the Maple Leaf Old Fashion is amazing...so I had two) & proceeded to let us know what "Black Bear" was about. We got there early evening and had a great table beside the bar that looked out over Hervey Bay, an absolutely stunning view, mixed with great drinks, amazing company and an atmosphere I wasn't expecting in Hervey Bay! I ordered the Jalapeño & Brisket pizza and my god, it would have to be the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life. My wife enjoyed a gluten free option and my son ate the bear shaped kids pizza. The food...was AMAZING. All in all I cannot express how much I loved this place or how willing I am to revisit the restaurant. I am so keen on going again to this venue that another trip to Hervey Bay will soon be on the cards. If you're undecided on dinner in Hervey Bay, this is the place to go.

Great staff here and great food too. Big selection of poutine! Large selection of spirits, very impressive. We had a party of 4.5 and seated us without a booking. Entrees, drinks and mains came to total of $190, very happy. Hungry or thirsty, definitely hit this place up.

Great experience. Easy to book on line and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. It was a pleasure to talk with Cass who was looking after us and her knowledge and suggestions navigating the menu were welcomed. The lumberjack poutine was standout. Four happy diners full of delicious food, craft beer and Canadian club. I look forward to visiting Hervey Bay again and coming back to Black Bear.

The Pork Duo, especially the pork belly is amazing, the ribs are delicious as is the brisket. The kids love the beaver tails, and they are good, but the dark chocolate fondant and the pudding chomeur do it for me. A great place to catch up with friends, celebrate anything but in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are great, too.

Wow, what a great experience.The team are welcoming,knowledgeable and very friendly.No job or question was to much. I even had the opportunity to meet the Captain in the bridge and he shared heaps of his knowledge. This tour and family run business is priced competitive and well worth the cost for a lifetime of memories. Highly recommended and very appreciative of the customer experience we had. Last but not least, plenty of whales to see and appreciate.

Yesterday evening we had dinner at the Boat Club. It was great. The sea food platter was enormous! Very tasteful and also the Parma and one of the day specials: barramundi Pie was good too. It was also very good that all our food (4 adults and 2 kids) arrived at the same time at the table. Thank you Boat Club for this !

After an amazing morning out whale watching, we enjoyed a lovely lunch using our 10% off voucher. There were great budget items (the chicken and Camembert pie with fries $12, delicious!) right up to the steak options ($40+). The restaurant was buzzing but there were multiple staff to manage everything. We also enjoyed drinks from the bar. Two thumbs up to the Virgin Mojito and the Aperol Spritz

This restaurant is a gem. May 2025 From start to finish our experience here was nothing short of perfect. We had the Garlic Prawns a la Creme and the Smoked Salmon and Trout Terrine starters. The Wild Caught Barramundi Almondine Meuniere and Lamb Noisettes for mains. And to finish, I am such a glutton, I had the Chocolate Mousse Neuchatel. My bride of 20 years had Profiteroles Parisienne and we topped it off sharing a dish of chocolates and Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate. Everything was presented beautifully. The ambiance was perfect. The food quality is like nothing else you will find in Hervey Bay. The price is worth the quality. You might spend a few dollars less somewhere else, but you won't get the personal attention or the elegance of sitting in this little french restaurant. We will return many more times as we have been doing for years. Liberty, we can't thank you enough for making this night as special as you did. You're a gem.

What an amazing restaurant to spend 3 hours dining. The owners have established a venue for small numbers so they can provide such an atmosphere, service and quality food. Ask the owners about the paintings on the wall, a great story. Highly recommended. We will be back.

We had made a reservation and were greeted by name at the door. The decor is stunning and adds to the warm inviting atmosphere. Enjoyed fresh tasting and well presented food in a 3 course dinner of scallops, barramundi and profiteroles. The meal portions were of a good size without being too much. We were made to feel special all evening as they also included that we were celebrating a birthday. The friendliness and service was incredible, the way we remember restaurants to be. I’d love to visit again. I'd recommend it as a great place to dine with friends, family, or a partner.

My husband and I went to this little gem in Hervey Bay to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary and we so glad we did it! For entree, I had Baby Lobster Mornay and my hubby has Garlic Prawns a La Crème, which were delicious!! Then for dinner my hubby had Fillet Mignon and I had the Duckling Mandarine, both dishes were superb! We ordered also a French wine, which complemented our meal very well. And the cherry on top was the amazing sweet treat that we got to finish our dining experience (courtesy from the owners for our wedding anniversary celebration)! This restaurant is small and cosy, perfect for couples, where you can have a romantic dinner and not having other tables listening to your conversations! The waitress was very helpful and friendly! You won’t be disappointed!

I went to try out this restaurant and the lady who greeted us was very friendly and I enjoyed my cocktail. But sadly the meal of Cotolettes D'agneau Vilerois Dijonnaise was a disappointment. I myself am a chef and can see there was no love in the meal. I wont go into it but the only positive thing I could say was the chef knew how to present a different style of potato.. Presentation and quality was below average and far to expensive for what we were presented with.. I can only comment on my meal. In saying that I will not be back.

Honestly, 4 star reviews literally wouldn't do it for my meal. I loved it. The cocktails, delicious. The grilled seafood plate, amazing. The only thing that was fried was the calamari - still delicious. Guys, great job! My husband and I love drinking here, but the food just makes it that much more of a better experience. We just left after an amazing dinner. From ringing last night and making our reservation with JJ , I had an awesome experience. JJ showed us our table tonight and cleaned it for us , he was awesome on the phone and in person. The gnocchi was to die for, best I’ve ever had . My husband had the steak sandwich which he said was incredible. We both had the sticky date pudding for dessert.our compliments to your food and service. Well done guys thank you 10 out of 10 .

One meal (which was from the lunchtime specials selection) from seven was not delivered at the same time as the others. We waited a little while & then asked what was happening. We were advised that the meal was still being prepared & would be another 5-10 minutes. As the other 6 diners had almost finished their meals the manager came & spoke with us, the meal was delivered & the meal cost was refunded in full. Excellent customer service provided in sorting the issue.

We arrived at 12.15 after meeting our group proceeded to order our meal, first meals.came out very quick, then the 3 order came out just as quick. 1 order we did ask the staff where it was after 10 -15 minutes to be told that it was coming shortly just waiting on the chicken schitzal. Still.waiting.15 minutes later after.yet asking.another staff member where our order was before it came out. When we did get our order my chips were warm, my friend had cold chips, cold calamari no apologies for the wait Not very happy at all. We have had some.lovely meals at this place but never again.

Placed a room service order for 2 meals, a side and 1x dessert. We received 1x meal and the side. Called the restaurant 8x times no answer. Called reception who had to walk over to the restaurant for us to sort out. Then received the second meal, which was cold and no dessert. Tried calling again and no answer. I walked down to reception who couldn't help but did end up getting the dessert for us, missing the cream that it was supposed to come with. I complained in person at the restaurant who gave a refund of the pizza. And a voucher that expired that night. As if we would use it after that experience. Would not have bothered so much with this if I didn't have a child to feed and had already paid for it all. Busy and big tables is not an excuse for poor service like this. Will never return.

We are from Brisbane and frequently visit the Oaks Resort in Hervey Bay. During our stays, we have a tendency to dine at Bayswater. Our experiences have been mixed, but we have found Ray, the floor food waitress, to be an exceptional service professional who consistently goes above and beyond to resolve issues promptly. Additionally, Jacinta, the assistant venue manager, has demonstrated a caring and customer-focused approach that encourages repeat business.This is also the same to say for Jacinta.

It was a lovely Saterdag evening, we were a party of only 4 adults. We made the booking online, Wednesday evenig. The website only allowed for indoor bookings. We were placed outside, which was a blessing as it was very noisy inside. We arived at 5:40pm. The main meals were quick as we ordered just after 6pm. Do not order dessert and coffee after 7pm, we waited 45min and received our desserts 15min apart and when the coffees arrived it was cold and the waiter could not tell us which were lattes or flat whites.

We had an enjoyable breakfast at Bayaroma. The menu has a fantastic variety including many plant based and dairy free options. We also believed the staff were professional and friendly. Our meals had exciting flavours, in particular the mushroom omlette. Our drinks were nice too- would recommend the mango frappe! We felt the cost was a little steep but we will be back.

Absolutely amazing French toast! The serving was very generous and such great value for money. The bread was fresh and perfectly cooked, generous portion of delicious ice cream, syrup, and crispy bacon — such a perfect combination. Honestly, this was the best French toast I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back again and enjoy it all over!

The children’s pancakes were very generous for a kids serving and my eggs Benedict was nice with lots of crispy ham. Meals were enjoyed by both.

One of the finest cafes in this area. We arrived as a group of eight, and they promptly served the food. The dishes were fantastic, and the prices are fair. Highly recommended.

Bayorama Cafe is a great spot to meet up with family or friends. There is a wide range of options for food and drinks. The cafe is located opposite the beach at Torquay and there is ample parking. Excellent service too.

We came to Paolo’s for dinner and brought our infant daughter. When I booked, I requested a high chair, but one wasn’t provided. Thankfully, we were able to keep her in the pram. The waitstaff seated us and offered still, sparkling, or tap water — we chose still, not realising this came at an added cost. We ordered two pizzas and a couple of mocktails. The mocktails arrived quickly and were enjoyable. The pizzas were nice and cooked well. I ordered the Prawn Siciliana, which only had a few prawns on it — a few more would have made it better. The second pizza was the Patatte & Prosciutto Cotto. The menu described it as having scalloped potatoes, but what arrived looked more like clumps of mashed potato, which was disappointing. Another small issue was that the restaurant’s website shows two different menus depending on where you click, which made it confusing when deciding what to order ahead of time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but there’s definitely room for improvement. The venue is quite small, so I’d recommend booking a table in advance.

There were a couple of hits and miss. We probably ordered the wrong pizza toppings :( — we ordered prawns but it wasn’t fresh which was a pity because the pizza base was superb. Love the bite of the sourdough crust. Scallops needed more sear, but flavours were there. On the bright side, the deep fried gnocchi was delicious — I love the combination!

This lovely little restaurant was superb. We had Moreton bug risotto, gnocchi bake, handmade gnocchi and pizza - and they were all brilliant. It’s not often I’m tempted by a dessert menu and I’m so glad I bought in! Rum syrup soaked sponge 😋 and apple crumble biscoff pizza - amazing! Great margarita too 🍸

Easily the best Wood-fired pizza I’ve had in Queensland. The fish in the Ceviche was extremely fresh, almost as if it was caught straight across the road on the beach. The flavours in the food were so complex it took me for an Italian adventure in the seas of the Sicilian coast. The restaurant was relaxed, it had excellent background music playing, an extremely beautiful environment that looked clean and was authentically Italian, and was very inviting. The staff were extremely attentive, kind, and checked up on the quality of our meals and service at an appropriate amount of time. Can’t recommend this beautiful restaurant enough!!!!! Best Italian food I've ever had Queensland it rivals many restaurants I’ve been to in Melbourne and Lygon st. Most definitely would recommend this to anyone in the Hervey Bay Area let alone Australia!

One of the best Italians we’ve had. Portions, service, prices were all good. Food tasted fresh and authentic (nduja pizza and seafood risotto). Only shame was we weren’t in town long or we would’ve gone again.

The venue is cozy and vibrant- highly recommended The menu is has a good variety of item, we even found a great Sardinian vermentino on the wine list! The prices were super honest considering the quality of everything. Great service, the team was very accommodating, it seemed like a busy night but they ensured we were looked after, chef included.

Christmas Day lunch: absolutely beautiful buffet food 😋 abundance of seafood, meats, salads & desserts. To top the experience off the staff were amazing 👏 super friendly & helpful to our seniors. Thank you & reasonably priced (no drink package) I gave a 3* as I felt it lacked atmosphere

they've got a big menu but the prices are towards the expensive side especially if you are not a member. the portions are big however. I recommend the cauliflower bites.

Staff Were lovely had amazing food. They also offer Takeaway containers which is awesome ! . The Lady who served us was very nice and helpful and up for a chat. I 100% recommend but make sure you go to the cafe it was also lovely there! 🫶

Great lunch meals available at both Poppy’s cafe and the Bistro. Good discounts for members. I had a lovely Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and my husband had a lunch special of Rissoles in gravy with roast vegetables. Will definitely be back!

Accidentally came in here and decided to order a burger while I was here. Very clean premises and lovely atmosphere with a really pleasant outlook. Especially if you like people watching add I know you do. The food is cheap and excellent value. Proper food. Very professional and friendly staff. Definitely worth coming to.

Just polished off the "King Kong". What a beautiful burger. Not a light snack by any stretch but wow it was amazing. No matter what burger you get, make sure you get some of their bacon! Had to get some loaded fries too which were awesome. Staff were super friendly, meal was ready quickly and pricing is fair for the quality recieved.

The most disappointing food in Hervey Bay... ordered full rack of ribs and got something what looked like a starter size. My wife ordered steak... very avarage but no veggies... and thirt meal beaf and mushroom pie with no mushrooms... needles to say that we were waiting for 1.5 hour ...

Quiet Wednesday night. Ordered at 6:45pm didn’t see our order for nearly an hour. Guy that bought our meal out didn’t give a stuff about the service being slow. I also had to go and find my own cutlery. At $50 for a steak, the serving was small and the steak looked like had been put through a tenderiser. I ordered a medium, the steak came out medium well to well done. My wife’s calamari was half nice, half chewy. Pity, I was looking forward to a nice pub meal. I’ve come to the tavern several times over the years when visiting Hervey Bay. This visit will be my last.

Very pleasantly greeted by Teina. Such a friendly and hospitable young man. Was very impressed with his service all round. Drinks nice and cold. Venue clean. Food was great. But this young man stood out with his exceptional customer service skills.

Fantastic venue for the adults to relax while the kids play. My pasta dish was amazing (and enough for lunch the next day!) and service by the lovely bubbly Liv couldn’t have been better. We love the tav, always a winner!

Ordered takeaway - nachos, tacos and enchiladas. Upon pickup, the service was friendly and the atmosphere looked great. However, the food was not in line with the price. We spent over $120 and selected this restaurant due to the gluten free options (appreciative this is available and this is positive about the restaurant). The tacos were flavourless, and the nachos and enchiladas were bland. I am providing this honest feedback about the food quality for improvements. Once again, service was great and so was atmosphere.

We had a great time here. Taco Tuesday, drinks, burrito all really good. Fish and prawn tacos were good, fish better, and the chicken burrito was bang on too. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I stopped into Tres Salsa for lunch on Monday and it was such a great choice. I met my husband here for a casual catch-up and we ordered the Nachos and Chilli Con Carne. Both dishes were full of flavour, generous in portion and beautifully presented. The nachos had just the right balance of crunch, cheese and spice and the chilli was hearty and comforting without being overpowering. The service was warm and friendly and the relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect spot to stop and fuel up in the middle of the day. Tres Salsa has definitely nailed that balance between casual dining and food that really delivers. We’ll be back again soon!

The iced tea was really good. My food just didn't taste right, prawns tasted like they had been frozen. Which would have been fine if they were half the price. Far from authentic as I've spent plenty of time in Mexico. Plated up nicely though

Visited HB last weekend and just searched for a restaurant to have dinner, then this lovely resto came up. Food was delicious, had the Flautas and Nachos, definitely recommend

Had a wonderful meal at this Mexican restaurant recently. I ordered the fajita board with prawns and my husband had the chimichunga. Both were well served and so very tasty. We finished off with churros for dessert, which was sweet, hot and everything you want a dessert to be. Congrats to the chef and the kitchen staff on this lovely tasty meal. The service staff were all very professional and attentive, which was awesome to see. Only thing I'll say is plates need to be cleared quicker once meals are done. I would definitely eat here again and recommend to others.

Amazing food and service! Loved it so much. Had an amazing waitress Jade but all of them were fabulous. We are vegetarians and the food was so good! Great wine list and the margaritas were awesome. A standout was the sliced jalapeno entree - so moreish and I don't even like jalapenos. Recommend highly.

Used uber eats to get some pizza from Smithy’s. Best margarita pizza I’ve had in a long time. Hubby enjoyed the supreme too. This will be our new pizza place from now on.

This is such a little gem! We got Smithy’s for dinner tonight and we were so happy with our order. Pizzas were cooked perfectly and absolutely loaded. My partner and I ordered the Supreme (10/10) and the Meatlovers both in the medium with a garlic bread and we were STUFFED. My only tiny critique would be that the meat lovers probably needs a little more BBQ sauce, but honestly we were so impressed and happy with our order. The staff were lovely too, thank you guys 😊

Very friendly welcoming staff. Diverse menu selection. I ordered the calamari which was a huge serve, and tasted lovely with fresh salad. Closes a little early for lunch, the road is noisy but would be the same for most establishments on the Esplanade. I would come back here if I was in Hervey Bay.

Found this little Cafe tucked away on the Esplanade in Harvey Bay. We were welcomed with a smile and it felt very inviting. All the staff were very warm and polite. Our service was prompt and the food absolutely outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend if you wish to have a pleasant atmosphere, reasoble pricing and beautiful staff and service.

It is a shame I can only leave 5 star reviews, as the staff deserve double that. Their friendly and welcoming attitude is so inviting and wonderful. They remembered us and our 3 dogs despite it being a year since we last visited. How lovely they have been to us. Our dogs especially love the service - treats all round. I highly suggest you and your fuzzy friends attend. Food is also amazing! Try the scallop omelette - you wont regret it.

My partner and I shared a BLAT sandwich, which was fresh and packed with flavour. The bacon was perfect , and the creamy aioli sauce added a delicious touch. The coffee was also delicious with a full bodied flavour, staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for great coffee, tasty food, and a warm atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Friendly staff, casual vibe. Fish is nicely battered, I like the crunch and how it’s not fishy! Matcha latte was ok, but I like that there’s Biscoff cookie on the side.

My family and I were on holiday in Hervey bay for 6 days and we had lunch here 3 times because it was so lovely!! The staff and chefs are very kind. I myself ordered the Korean chicken burger and beef burger and they are both super nice. The prices are very reasonable. The seniors menu had lots of options at affordable prices. The milkshakes were really nice and there were good fans/a.c to keep cool. We ordered the ribs, chicken schnitzel, B.L.A.T, chicken nuggets, beef burger, Korean fried chicken burger, and bacon and eggs, which were all really delicious and we have only positives to say about this place. Definitely recommend!! Thank you for the lovely lunches :)))

I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and always meant to drop in — and I finally did! Sitting on the lounge with my coffee in hand and a muffin, I spent over an hour there and almost forgot where I was. Such a relaxing spot. We really enjoyed our time and will definitely be back.

Really nice little spot in the bay for a coffee. The decor is very beach themed and you can tell how much effort they have put into the place! Nice to sit outside under the cover of an umbrella at a clean table Lots of variety in terms of drink and food on offer! Looses a star as I thought it was a bit expensive for the food portions we got, most places around seem to offer lots more on the plate for the money we paid.

Dropped in this morning on the way to an event. Baristas were personable (not an easy thing for 5.30am sometimes!). Coffee was fantastic and the setting and location was amazing. Highly reccomend ☕️

Stopped here for coffee/ tea and some light food as ambiance looked really lovely. Was disappointed with everything else. This place is actually more like kiosk than cafe as everything you receive packed as take away. My ham and cheese toastie was really disappointing, flat and over toasted and our drinks were far from quality coffee and chai. If you are looking for proper breakfast and coffee I recommend go somewhere else

I work hospitality/ at a cafe aswell, simply got an iced latte, excellent quality. The staff are extremely friendly and the overall setting is beautiful.

Well appointed restaurant. Clean, relaxed atmosphere. Good customer service - the owner is friendly and can claim a sense of humour. The food! Absolutely authentic Thai, cooked by Thai kitchen staff. We were stunned by the quality and flavour, as we were transported back to Thailand. A well worth it dining experience. Going back! 😄

Eat here for the lunch special and try pad ped with chicken for $17. The portion is generous, and the taste is good and the salad is refreshing. It was said spicy but not too spicy for me. For drink, coconut water with jelly is a must. The service is good and love the cozy ambience & decorations.

I’ve been eating here for the past 4 years, both dine in and take away, I’ve never been disappointed I enjoyed every little morsel. Unfortunately I’ve been ill, and all I wanted is chicken fried rice, and it was delicious, wonderful, and perfect. Thanks to the team at Tasty Thai.

We had a reservation for two at Tasty Thai in Hervey Bay last night. Upon arrival, we were directed to our table rather than being shown to it, which was a little unexpected but perhaps the usual practice there. However, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Three other groups were seated after us, all of whom received prompt attention — water was served, orders were taken, and one table even had drinks and entrées delivered. During the 25 minutes we were seated, no staff member approached us, nor were we offered water or given any acknowledgment. After waiting with no service at all, we decided to leave. Even as we exited, no one appeared to notice or address the fact that we were leaving without being served. The lack of attention and basic service was unacceptable. Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to try the food, as the service alone made it a very poor dining experience.

Our second visit here. Disappointed to find that the tempura prawns on the menu are not local or Australian prawns. The waitress had to ask the kitchen. She said they were imported vannemei prawns. I said no thanks and ordered a stir fry chicken dish which while full of flavour lacked chicken. Chicken Pad Thai was also tasty but lacking chicken. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would come again just disappointed about the prawns.

We loved everything about Tasty Thai, from the cosy ambiance to the taste of authentic Thai food. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for richness in flavors, enlightenment of tastebuds or simply finger licking good food. We started with the mixed entree for 2 and also shared a Green Curry Chicken and a Massaman Beef Curry and 10/10 for all dishes. The meals were served very quickly by the attentive and friendly staff. Our new favourite Thai Restaurant in Hervey Bay 👍👍👍

Very disappointed special fried rice not sauté lamb not more like a curry lamb. I don’t like curry special fried rice had no pork beef etc. In it. Just brown rice very disappointed for the amount of money. I paid first time here since it’s re-changed his name.

Had a great time. The waiter was lovely and the food authentic. The laksa was great and the char kway chow was delicious. Serving sizes were generous. A good range of wines and cocktails at reasonable prices. Very happy👍

I went to little Singapore kitchen yesterday for the first time. I was greeted promptly and seated. I had one of their lunch specials, Mongolian Beef and fried rice. It exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, taste and portion size. Well done. You will have a repeat customer.

Ordered Singapore noodles, yellow prawn curry with fried rice and it was absolutely delicious.we will be back to try some other dishes soon. Great food and great service.

This place was amazing!!! It’s cat theme and it’s so cool 😆 The food here was lovely and the prices for the dish’s were very reasonable, I had a peach green tea and it was Litrally the best fruit tea I’ve had! The staff here were absolutely lovely and they had a tv playing all the restaurants and fun things to do in Japan. The had a kids menu, so everyone can enjoy something 😄 I definitely recommend this place to anyone!!

Went there to have dinner without a booking on a Saturday night. Got in at 6:30 and the older guy said the wait time for food is 30min which is fine. Looking around, there were 4 tables that didn't have food yet. Anyway waited and waited and finally got our food after 1 hr. Even the appetizers were served at this time, not even earlier than the mains. Seems like there's 3 people were preparing the food but it was a loooong wait. Food was ok, guess when you wait that long obviously it taste much better. Good service by the young girl and young guy, but the older guy was not so.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this restaurant last Friday. I had the most polite, well spoken and helpful young man serving me. I believe he was tall and had curly hair(he deserves a raise). The owners of this establishment should be very proud of this employee. He took the time to explain the menu. The food was also very pleasant.

The food here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Having just recently gotten back from Japan I can say with 100% confidence that the food is as good (if not better) than most of the restaurants I ate at IN JAPAN. I recommend their sodas as well. Pick any flavour and you can't go wrong; they're all good.

Food is very nice, we sat outside and played uno which staff didn't mind. Drinks were nice as well and service was quick. Only feedback I could give is that they need to clear tables, when we came in there were a couple dirty tables and when we left it looked like not a single table had been cleared since we came in.

I visited Tanushi Sushi and Tea House recently with my wife for her birthday, hoping for a nice lunch experience. My wife is a vegetarian, so we ordered a vegetarian tempura udon, a teriyaki chicken udon for myself, and a vegetarian kaki nigiri to share. The nigiri was very nice and we were initially pleased. However, when the main dishes arrived, we discovered a star-shaped item with an orange circle in the vegetarian udon. When we quietly asked the waiter what it was, he explained that it was a fish cake, which should not have been included in a vegetarian dish. His response was simply to say “just pick it out, sorry the chef shouldn’t have put that in.” The dish was not replaced, and since it had already been contaminated with fish, my wife could not continue eating it. This really spoiled what was meant to be a special birthday meal. At the end, when asked how it was, I explained that the vegetarian dish had been ruined by the fish cake. The waiter apologised again, and while he did give us 10% off the total bill (around $5.40 on a $54.20 order), it didn’t feel adequate given that my wife’s $18.80 main meal was effectively wasted. Considering I had mentioned from the beginning that it was her birthday and that she was vegetarian, this left us disappointed. Overall, the experience was let down by how the mistake was handled. Accidents can happen in any kitchen, but the response and remedy matter. In this case, it didn’t feel like enough was done to make up for the situation, and unfortunately, it compromised what should have been a special lunch.

Food was interesting and the staff was really nice. Be aware that all plates are intended to share so it might not be an ideal place to go by yourself. The dessert was a bit too fancy for my taste but that's probably just me :)

Reasonably priced for waterfront location and table service. We ordered the Bao (steamed buns), and while they were tasty and only $5, they wouldn’t go on my list as great Bao compared with Brisbane competitors. The buns needed to be more pillowy and filled with more juicy ingredients. In saying that, if you’ve never tried them before, then these are a good start. The prawn tartare was presented nicely, but more lemon would have taken away the fishy taste. Not a fan really.

Superb food! Highlight was the baos with crispy chicken😘 ❤️ Loved the grilled broccoli, scallops as well as fried school prawns. Will be back for more baos. 100% recommend.

The food was generous, reasonably priced and very delicious. Staff were super friendly and readily available for service, without being overbearing. Meals are served to the table as a shared platter with serving tongs.

Adorable restaurant, sleek design, cool vibe and incredibly lovely staff make for a delicious night out! And the food wasn’t bad at all - the short rib is delicious along with a selection of fresh seafood. Meal for two adults was only 120 with beers and dessert so it wouldn’t break the bank either. If you’re in town for a Fraser tour - def have a lovely pre dinner at at Coast ! (A photo of the fresh King shrimp!)

Had breakfast here and was greatly disappointed in the value for money. There are no split bills. Way overcharged. *In Response to the owner* Easter long weekend does not mean that you should charge 10% over the entirety of the 4 days. I would understand the public holidays but it would be ludicrous to suggest that the weekend also incur such a penalty. Regardless, your menu prices without the 10% was what I was originally was suggesting were overpriced and lacked any semblance of value for money. There are many other establishments along the Charlton Esplanade which charge much less and offer a significantly better product. As to splitting the bill, if you are not going to enforce or stick to such a business principle (definitely a right for you to insist on within your own establishment) then don't have the sign up at all. If many people ask for a split bill and you are doing split bills, then maybe, just maybe you should take a hint from your customers and remove the sign. It's no matter to me, but I think it worthwhile mentioning in my reviews of such businesses as people deserve to know what the situation is before they order and potentially cause themselves unpleasantness when it comes time to pay the bill.

The Black Dog has exceptional friendly service and a few vegan options! I had the Super Fresh Salad Bowl, with lettuce, tomato, avo, cucumber, onion, carrot and lemon mustard vinaigrette with pineapple juice. So delicious! My carnivorous husband had a good meal too :P

Discovered by accident.. I had walked past the Black Dog Cafe on a couple of occasions and on just a whim decided to try it. Well it was tops. The food was wonderful and the Staff were excellent. Well worth the food and the price was very reasonable for 2. I enjoyed it that much that I went back the next day for more. The food and staff was not just a one-off. This cafe is right on the Esplanade and just across the road from the beach where a walk along the beach is a must after eating here to walk off the meal. A big thumbs up from me. THANKS AGAIN.

One of the prawns in my dish was raw (picture for reference). I spit it out and stopped eating as it is unsafe. When I informed the staff, they reluctantly offered a 10% discount and no apologies. It’s not like finding raw vegetables that you can set aside and continue eating I risked getting sick and ruining my trip, and still had to pay for the dish I couldn’t eat. They lack of basic hospitality and work ethics. The dish also did not contain any anchovies as stated on the menu and the flavor was nothing special. Don’t risk it.

We got there at 5.30pm had a drink told the waitress we will have a drink then order people turned up waited an hour while everyone got served around us no one ask if we are ok so paid for drinks even though we shouldn't of and left went and had dinner elsewhere. I will say the young girl who served us at first was lovely but this was definitely not her fault as there was another guy serving and taking orders just not ours! Oh don't book a table not needed as it wasn't booked and I can see why!

Awesome views. The chicken starter is amazing. The lamb shank was good. The pork also good. Prices are on the higher side which is fine as long as you're getting quality. Unfortunately the king prawn dish is a totally over priced dish. 4 small prawns and 2 pieces of bread for $34. No rice or other items. Sold as a main but is a really small starter and the price is too high, prawns werent even big. They could bulk up their plates with some extra starch which isn't going to cost them much but make their prices more reasonable. Sticky date was good. Cake was on the drier side but was nice with the cream and ice cream.

I rarely write negative reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience here. From the moment we arrived, the service was disappointing. When we asked for a menu, the staff were incredibly rude, and things only got worse from there. The new staff member had no clue what was in the dish we asked about, so when we politely asked if she could find out, she seemed visibly annoyed at having to do her job. To make matters worse, we were told that they weren't taking any more hot drink orders because they were "too busy." We were eventually served, but the drinks were practically shoved onto the table with no care at all. When our food came out, it was wrong. We had to point out the mistake and show them the menu to get it corrected. The two women working seemed rough around the edges, and the younger one had an attitude that made the whole experience feel uncomfortable. Eventually, we asked for our money back and left, which was the only positive outcome of the visit. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for good service or a pleasant dining experience. Obviously changed hands from a few years ago, which is so sad. To clarify, I did not call your staff "slack" — that would imply they were doing a job. No apologies were given during the interaction. It was far from busy at the time, and I observed three other people walk away due to the rudeness from the staff. I want to be clear that I have respect for everyone working, especially in customer-facing roles. However, your team clearly requires further training in both communication and customer service. Their tone and delivery were unacceptable and did not reflect the basic standards one would expect in this setting. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and addressed appropriately.

Looking for a delicious LOBSTER in town? Come here. It is the best. We did have to pre order a couple of days before. All dishes were sensational. Had to go back the next day for more. Staff try, but are just a bit slow and green 💚 One member by the name of Ruby, was outstanding. All very sweet and well mannered though. Looking out on the water with all the luxurious yachts and blue skies was dreamily relaxing.

Had no booking - but they gave us a table for 4 in a separate dining area! Was only the two of us. Beautiful carvings and Thai ornaments and decorations everywhere. Solid wood tables - impressive. The food we ordered came rather quickly. It was very tasty, and the portions are large - price also on the upper scale. The serving staff - except the young male taking the order and serving us various times - should take lessons in a Tourism and Hospitality course. Not a smile - nothing - just banged the plates on the table, and that was it. Not once - every time. That was disappointing. Paying the bill - same - not asking - how was your meal, etc. Oh, maybe we did not spend enough money, $ 80.00. We did not go back the other nights whillst staying in Hervey Bay - plenty of other places to choose from. As I said the food was delicious.

Tranquil dining area furnished with Thai vibes. More than your typical diner so would suit for a special occasion dinner. I especially liked the home made coconut ice cream with jackfruit.

1st time trying Thai Diamond & it did not disappoint 👏 can't rate the atmosphere as we had takeout, but the restaurant was authentic in style. We had chicken laska & Pad see ew, so very tasty & full of veggies.

Fast and friendly service, we ordered the net rolls which were crispy and delicious. For mains we ordered tamarind soft shell crab which would have been better if veggies were crunchier, the lettuce it was served on was soggy and unappetising- The honey prawns were good but also could have done with time spent on presentation & accompanied with some papaya salad or similar. The drunken noodles lacked flavour and no trace of Thai basil

Lovely Thai food at good value prices. Loved the atmosphere sitting inside, the friendly staff, and the prompt service. BYO wine at $3 corkage per person. They are also incensed if you forget to take a bottle . We were at table of 4, shared 4 dishes plus fried rice x 2 for a total of $126 including corkage. We thought it great value, especially as it all tasted yumo. I was so tempted by all the food when it arrived I forgot to take photos of it! Recommend giving them a taste.

Had booked a table on line but arrived about 1/2 hour early which was no problem. We were seated quickly and given water and menus. Ordered drinks which came to our table extremely quickly. We ordered our food and didn’t have to wait long for that either. The food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend. We were a bit disappointed that you could only get prawn toast if you paid for a banquet. Otherwise it was a good night and we were in and out pretty quickly.

The food is average . We loved the special fried rice , the chicken and cashew was also great. Honey chicken was highly rated But the crispy duck was horrible over cooked and oily it come out cold. Our entrees even cane out after our dinner. Ate here 3 years ago and there have been some differences.

Must do this place!!! Location is stunning. Service is 1st class. Menu is plentiful and colourful. Pricing is very realistic. Taste of meals is excellent. Value is great. Will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant recently and really enjoyed most of our meal—the mains were fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. However, we were very disappointed with the fried ice cream dessert. It was poorly made and unfortunately inedible. We raised our concerns politely, but the staff refused to offer a refund or any form of resolution, which left a sour note on an otherwise good experience. It’s a shame, as we were happy with the rest of the food, but good customer service includes being open to feedback—especially when something clearly isn’t up to standard. We hope management will reconsider how they handle situations like this in future.

Haven't been here for about 2 yrs and what a disappointment smaller portions and food is warm at best. We used to get 4 Dim sims in a portion now it's 2. When you order a duck dish it was excellent 2yrs ago, and now is supposed to be boneless and it is full of cartilage and bones, not good for your teeth. Once again only warm at best. If the patrons have become so complacent they don't care what they eat but for the location and price this is less than average at best. We came here to do a follow up review and got what we were warned of, junior staff that don't know anything about service and wouldn't make it in a pub. Talk to customers like they are class mates at school, can we get you another drink mate as we are closing the bar. Has hospitality gone down so bad you don't want your customers enjoying your restaurant with good end of meal food and service that you close off your income to save a few dollars in wages. I don't think we will bother going back to this establishment to any more reviews of poor service and low standards of food being served up to unassuming customers.

Had a full glass of wine spilt all over table, no refill, tried to charge however did take off bill, but did not want to. Booking was for 5.30 food arrived 6.45, also had the privilage of cleaning the wine up myself as all the server did was say sorry and give me a wad of serviettes to do the job. Fried rice was tasteless and gluggy with only a pinch of shallotts to add crunch, very expensive so if on a budget forget it.

Entrees took 40 min to come and the staff had said the order was lost… we were offered free entrees. Food is very tasty. The service is below par. Staff running around like chooks with their heads cut off and not knowing what is going on. The waitress that served the table was lovely. But the young girl that was serving food and taking payments was rude and needs to work on her r.b.f. A bit better. And needs some training in customer service.

I cant leave a zero star rating! This place is ridiculous $161.30c spent got maybe 1/2 a container of each food ! I'm so upset ! Trying to feed 7 people out of what we received is just not gunna happen! Looks like I'm gunna have to reorder more food! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL !! When we actually got to eat food was dry and disappointing!

Was keen to order as had some good reviews. Ordered 5 dishes for $116,two of them were rice dishes , coconut rice, fried rice, mixed vegetables, honey prawns, sweet and sour pork. Prawns were fine for the rest no flavour and no sweet and sour sauce for the pork. Hands down the worst Chinese meal I have ever had.

Honestly the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The creamy garlic was tasteless just straight cream with no flavour, the chicken was rubber, it had big jello fat bits. I had black bean beef and that was crap, literally no favour and rubber Fried rice was crap, rock solid - how do you mess up fried rice ? And the curry puffs nasty.

Beautiful fresh food and brilliant service! We had the Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Satay Chicken and coconut rice. Each dish was delicious. Lovely and friendly atmosphere.

Got seated without a reservation. Ordered the handmade spring rolls for an entree, they were amazing! Ordered the Mongolian beef which was amazing, honey king Prawns, which weren't the greatest, but aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Also Ordered a special fried rice which was a nice accompaniment, also ordered the char kway teow which was nice on its own.

Mixed Entree was ok. The curry puff didnt have much filling Neither did the prawn toast. The dim sim was onky in the middle. Satay chicken was amazing. Mongolian beef was also very nice. We had a large fried rice. It had big chucks of duck, and chicken through it. The staff where friendly and Polite, very nice restaurant you wont be dissapointed.

We had lunch here last week after we visited the turtles and aquarium on the other side. We sat out the back near the water on the verandah. The staff were tentative to take our order we were told it would take around 20 mins which we didnt mind. We did order a entre to start us off. They bought out my 5 yr old grandauggters meal fairly quickly that kept her busy eating our entre arrived 15 mins later and thats where it stopped. Other people came and sat down as it was the lunch time period. 40 mins past and no main meal. We watched people who sat after us around 10 mins after us get their meals. We had to eventually ask about our meals. The waiter went and asked and came back to tell us that there was a bit of a mix up and our meal will come out very shortly. We werent impressed due to the pricing of tbe meals. Ten miniutes later we finally got our meals. The photos show that there wasnt a huge crowd so it wasnt majorly busy for a lunch sitting. We were not impressed. Thats why its a 3 out of 5. The food again wasnt to impressed.

My friend and I are visiting from Brisbane and stopped in for lunch today. The food was delicious and the location is just perfect! Despite the cafe getting busy, the staff were happy and attentive and our food arrived promptly, served with a smile. My Thai beef salad was one of the best I've had for ages and I didn't have to play 'find the meat'. The beef was seared to perfection and the salad was seasoned correctly and well balanced. Well done team and thank you for an excellent meal.

Even over the misty water, cold enough to give guests a blanket, my husband orders ice cold Stoney beers, and loving every minute because I'm the stone cold sober driver. You don't get closer than this spot to see clear water sandy ocean, fish jumping, and sea birds flying through. Service was impeccable and prices pretty good considering the position and entertainment from watching boats leave and return from K'gari. We gave this restaurant 5 star because, the oysters in bacon sauces and scallops in garlic butter and Barra was caught fresh, probably 10 minutes before we sat down.

We had lunch at this fabulous restaurant on a Thursday. We were accommodated without a booking. The young waitress was a delight and nothing was too much trouble. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. We had the shared seafood platter and while not the cheapest item on the menu, it was excellent value for money. We had a waterfront view into the bargain. Highly recommend this restaurant.

1st time here but we will be back. So relaxing eating a beautiful breakfast overlooking the bay. I’m a coffee snob and the coffee is great. Poached eggs were perfect. Great range of smoothies. Staff are so pleasant and helpful. Loved it. We booked a table for 7 people.

What a stunning venue! I attended a wedding on Sunday 17th of August and it exceeded my expectations. Staff was extremely friendly, the venue is beautiful and the food was amazing 😍 I am gluten intolerant and they accommodate all my meals offering me more than one option. What a beautiful and amazing venue i definitely recommend it

Firstly we got a daily hot buffet breakfast with our stay! Delicious meals! We were even allowed to take extra back to munch on later. Secondly we got a few room service deliveries. Again delicious and wasn't that long of a wait! The ribs were huge and very generous. Banana splits delicious! Everything yum. We also ate out in the restaurant for dinner one night. Again delicious food, fast and friendly service. I think was only 1 mistake with a drink which was cleared up and replaced as soon as brought to their attention. Fantastic and highly recommended! So we did dine in and delivery and we did breakfast, dinner, dessert and room service dinner/dessert.

If I could rate this place 100/5 I would. I had most of the items on the menu throughout the six weeks I was there, and never had one bad dish. Very reasonable price, couldn’t praise the staff and service highly enough, and the food kept me coming back for more. If you’re a seafood lover, you have to stop by Smokey Joe’s and try their seafood hot pot and paella. Two best dishes I’d had in Hervey Bay.

Came here on the weekend and tried the Morton Bay Bug Linguini which was tasty but had very little seafood (even one half shell was empty). Unfortunately, it was somewhat busy and it took about 45 minutes for the food to come out. I also came here for the buffet breakfast which was also delicious, however the service let the restaurant down as there were delays with cutlery (no forks), plates, eggs, and hash browns. Overall, I would come back again but hope that the service would be a bit more efficient.

Food was high quality (I recommend the Hervey Bay Fish and Chips). The dining experience was really lovely with views of the pool lit up at night. The resturant ambience wasn't has comfortable as I would have wanted. The resturant was nice and clean and the price of the food was fair. I recommend to go there for dinner :) Note: They also offer Gluten Free options which was really nice.

Had the ribs. Sauce was average but most likely out of a bottle. The ribs were terrible, very very dry and tasteless. Chips were also terrible. This meal was worth $10 and not the $30 they charged

We had a wonderful night out. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was excellent with lovely friendly prompt meals. The spring rolls were beautiful. The Kung Pao Chicken was hotttttttt 🤣 if you love your hot chilli then it’s for you 😄 they even have a challenge if you’re keen. We will definitely be back again.

Fabulous Roti starter and Papaya starter followed by tumeric prawns and sweet and sour pork. All fresh and delicious.

The owner is really lovely and gave toys to our toddler and made him feel welcome. The food was delicious. There is normal food (curries & stir fries) as well as food for those after something less mainstream. The green papaya salad was amazing! But I wouldn't recommend the fried white fish (see photo). We coated them with chilli and lemon so it wasnt to 'fishy'.

Great little hidden gem, one street from the waters edge. What it lacks with street appeal, it definitely makes up for with taste and freshness. Service is friendly and efficient. Meals are served quickly. And everything tastes awesome. Steamed dim-sims and fried whitebait for entree, Kung pao chicken and a noodle dish (I can't remember what it was called...lol), and sticky date pudding and banana -coconut pudding for desert. All come recommend. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Small cafe/restaurant close to the esplanade. We had the pork and chicken wok at dinner time. Highlight was definitely the Indian chutney as an entree. Very different. Food was quite unique. Fair price. Definitely worth a visit.

Used to get takeaway often from here..... tonight omg what a big disappointment! I ordered Sweet and sour pork and special fried rice....look at the pictures. Nothing special about that rice....2 prawns a few peas and ham and the rice was claggy.The pork batter was not cooked thoroughly and the sauce had one piece of pineapple and 3 peices of capsican....it tasted rank.... what has happened? Has it exchanged hands? I'm very disappointed and will not be returning.

I love china. China pearl takes me home. Excellent service from Ruby & Sienna at front desk. Always ensuring that our prawn crackers, crispy turkey salad and crispy beef rice box are prepared freshly and in a timely matter. #chinapearlrocks

We had Sang Choy Bow and it was pretty good but not much filling, disappointed then had Singapore noodles not bad but used a little too much curry powder that overtook flavour. We enjoyed it and will be back to try some other things on the menu to see how diverse the cooking skills are.

Returned to China Pearl for a takeaway meal as we are visiting Hervey Bay for a few days. The food is as great as it was when we left nearly three years ago. Ordered by phone and the order was ready when my wife arrived. Friendly service, meal was great and just like when Billy was the owner.

Decided to try this restaurant for my birthday and booked in 6 diners, as we were all hungry we decided to get the banquet at $40 a head, we then received a main serve of each dish to share amongst 6!! 1 large rice between 6, to say we all left hungry is an understatement, if I had bought all dishes separately it would of been $100 cheaper, when I asked our waitress about the serves she said she agrees it's a total rip off and way overpriced but she couldn't do anything. I will never go back.

New to the bay and asked for recommendations for the best Chinese food in town, well, what an experience and taste sensation.. There were children behind the counter making so much noise it was hard to place an order in house... I ordered beef and black bean and special fried rice to go, worst I've ever had! The rice was clumpy and the sauce way too wet on my black bean which tasted more like someone just poured soy sauce over it The price for what I got was exorbitant IMO and I'm wondering if this place isn't run by children? Won't be going back..........Disappointed I was.

We came here a year ago whilst on holidays and thought we’d try again despite the disappointing food and service. Never should have given it a second chance, won’t be coming back ever again. Service was bland and like they didn’t want to be there. As soon as we sat down the table was sticky and disgusting. Your elbows, cups and menus just stuck to the table. If that’s what the tables are like what is the kitchen like.. I ordered a water and it tasted like it was an unwashed cup previously used for a customers coke drink so it had faint taste of coke. So gross. The sharing appetizer was small and just weird flavors that don’t go together, no side plates were given, had to ask and they were filthy. Even the replacements didn’t look much cleaner. Ordered a salad as my main meal and it was tiny!!!!!! probably 100grams of chicken, I’ve never ordered a chicken salad and not gotten a full breast before. 3 pieces of corn kernels, 9 black beans and the tiniest sprinkle of quinoa. Just pathetic sizing. Main meal plates looked dirty again.. all grimey. People need to realize you’re spending money on a meal and deserve a good meal and experience. Overall a restaurant where you can tell all the workers just don’t give a crap about anything, but it’s clearly coming from above if a manager doesn’t care why would the workers put care into their workplace and customers experience. The photo doesn’t even do it justice how small this salad was but the fact the chicken was nearly the same size as that dressing says it all

I was excited to eat hogsbreath again after my local restaurant was a victim of the recent closures But joy turned to lament when I bit into the soft gummy curly fries, congealed with cold oil they had evidently been cooked much earlier in the evening. As I spotted the burnt potato and tasted the over sauced, limp lettuce in my salad, I was sad to think this would be my last hoggies salad. The potatoes were particularly heinous, they were virtually cremated.

Worst Hoggies I have ever had. We love visiting all the restaurants still open. The staff were good but the meals were quite awful. I had the chicken ranch salad. The potatoes were burnt, small chicken, and very bland. My husband got the special of 2 crumbed steak, wings and curly fries. The steak was overcooked and tough.

Went to Hog's Breath Cafe Hervey Bay for the first time last night for a birthday party. I ordered a sparkling water, none available, asked for a ginger beer but received a ginger ale instead as there apparently was no ginger beer. Not even told that there was no ginger beer they just turned up with the ginger ale. I then ordered the Southern fried chicken with curly fries and house slaw. The chicken looked like they had cut one chicken breast in half and then fried it to death. It was completely dry, shrivelled with no taste. The house slaw appeared to be just cabbage, no taste here either. And now to the fries, just warm and like rubber. The chicken dish was definately not worth $28.95. I think I will stick with the other cafe in the spotlight complex from now on that has better fried chicken, coleslaw and fries at a cheaper price. Won't be eating at this place again unless they can show that their meals have improved 100 per cent.

Food was atrocious. Partner got a double rib steak burger and you couldn’t have gotten better at a fish and chip shop. I ordered a grilled chicken burger.. the chicken was so spicy (when spice wasn’t stated at all on menu) I could barely eat it, got a stomach ache and proceed to throw up a few hours afterwards and it didn’t come with the topping that were stated on the menu. There were barely any fries on the plate. Definitely not worth $30 per burger.

The traditional slow cooked steak was a melt in the mouth experience prices were quite reasonable and the service was excellent. A top owner manager with excellent people skills

Great value for money and good food. Excellent location on the espy and the staff were lovely. The coffee was good if on the mild side. I had a superb almond latte in a mug and a divine toasted ruben sandwich on GF bread.. Took me to my happy place, taste buds and stomach forever grateful. Lovin' it.

Good Malaysian food and nice vibes. However there needs to be some improvement to the front of house service as it was slightly off from wrong coffee orders to the look of displeasure from the waitress.

Overall it was a good experience. We were seated in a few minutes of arrival, order was taken promptly. Entree was out in minutes and mains not long after we were ready for them. Staff were nice and helpful. Onion Bhaji and Chef’s Chicken Masala were very tasty. Some downsides: - Surprised at how small the serve of curry is. - Roti and naan were dry and very similar in texture and taste. We are used to naan being thick and fluffy and roti being layered and thick.

This is the best Indian restaurant we have visited in Hervey Bay and was impressed with the chilli heat was the best we have had in Australia. A good range of food in all categories and able to satisfy most styles of eating from vegan to meat, chicken, fish and what ever else you desire. Good range of drinks and should satisfy most people. Definitely worth a try to see what you can handle.

Very happy with service and food. We just ‘walked in’ on a Tuesday night and were very happy with the staff and the service we received, the food was obviously good, we asked for a medium spice and received it. Everything arrived in a timely way. Cannot whinge about anything.

Very bland and lackluster food, and definitely not cooked in a tandoor. This is not authentic Indian food so for those who love a good curry please don't make the mistake I made. I had the chicken tikka entree which was so very bland, the chefs special chicken curry which tasted like tomato soup, and the kashmiri naan which was completely textureless.

Prompt service and wait-staff very friendly. knowledgeable and didn’t take long to receive meals. Ordered entree, mains and naan. Enjoyed all our dishes. Few different beers available. We’d be happy to eat here again.

Something has changed at the Nilima, probably the chef. Food is not what it was. Tandoori chicken cooked too quickly, so not firm and Rogan Josh sauce nowhere near as aromatically spicy and tasty as it should be. Also didn't appreciate the huge noise coming from the kitchen. Sounded like an industrial saw buzzing away. All very sad.

We were kinda eh about the food. The starters were bland and nothing special, not terrible but some of us thought so. The mains were better, but still not great. Definitely Westernised, I guess that's what you get in a small town. They had mild and medium spice; we got medium, but it was really mild. Better than food court grub, and it's probably worth a shot if you're not expecting Michelin stars.

Nice for a change. Different process to other restaurants. As much as you can eat including seafood. Main issue is they serve the cheapest cuts first so by the time the better food comes out you can't eat any more - so works out quite expensive for sausage and chicken. If you go hold off eating until better food comes out to get your value. Nice atmosphere and great amenities and good service.

Absolutely brilliant! Great ambiance, Endless amounts of great food (especially meats), and legendary staff (especially Connor (with an ''or") and Jayden)) whom we're not only friendly and accommodating, but actually seemed genuine in doing so. When we entered the restaurant we initially felt the price of $48 per head was on the upper side, but after our experience with the staff, the quantity, and quality of the food we felt that it was an absolute bargain, highly recommend!

It was one of my most favourite restaurants when I lived in HB. Used to go there at least once a week. I still remember Simon - the manager. Went back there after 2 years later, none of the old crews are there but they are still same welcoming. However, food quality has gone down substantially, was served cold sausages and cold meat, which I never experienced before. I suggest the team need to make sure this is not being repeated. I wish you keep the old standard and make me feel again going there dining in.

What a great place. The atmosphere was just amazing as too the great servings of tasty food. The sangria perfectly made to help wash down the tender meat cuts. Highly recommend, we will definitely return. Loved it!

Service was good, amount of food was good. This was NOT Brazilian style food! It was RSL quality and tasting (bland) food on a stick. It was served in the Brazilian way (skewers and served at the table) but I expect a $45 meal ($135 two people plus wine) to be as advertised. Don't like leaving negative reviews, but people should be warned. Too much money to not get what you expect.

As every 'All you can eat' style restaurant, they start with filling courses and leave the nicest cuts at last. I loved that I got to taste plenty of different courses, however the taste was very average. I leave 4 stars for the service and the drinks. The cocktails were absolutely well made.

I stay last night at harvey bay and order food on eats. Food was below average order chilli garlic naan they put red chilli on naan I never seen red chiili on naan same with biryani full raisins and daal was missing in order overall really bad experience Its just waste of $120 never recommed any one to go there

First time having food from the Tandoori Taj, we did take away tonight and definitely return to eat in. Absolutely the best Indian on the Bay and I've tried them all. One of the best Vindaloos I have had in a long while and I have a few so know whatvI am talking about. Also a beef madras and chicken tikka masala. All were very good and reasonably priced too. 100% recommend dining here.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I went there for dinner yesterday and ordered paneer curry. The food was not fresh, and the taste was not good at all—it was honestly hard to eat. On top of that, the service was poor. The staff didn’t seem interested or professional. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty food or decent service. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Me and my husbad had such a fantastic time at Taj Restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service. The food was absolutely delicious, and good with portion as well. We had dinner here recently April 2022, absolutely brilliant. The Short Soup was delicious as was the Pork Chow Mein. Huge serving, I got to take some home. Staff was very friendly, very eager to help. Certainly recommend a meal here. Nice clean food, not gluggy or oily. Will be back 👍

Very clean and well maintained building. The staff are friendly and helpful and get your meal to you in a nice and quick fashion. I've never had any issues with this restaurant. It's nicely sized, doesn't feel to overly open yet is large enough to comfortably fit and cater to large groups, this makes it a common place for work related lunches and dinners as well as birthday groups and large friend and family groups. This particular restaurant is also one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in the area, being run by Chinese owners as well.

Great food at an acceptable price. Waitress was very nice and helpful. Just need the buffet topped up a bit quicker as some of the dishes were completely gone when new fresh food arrived. Also some sort of dessert for the kids would be good. Nice big restaurant with child friendly atmosphere.

Love the food from China world. Have yet to dine in but I always get takeaway from here. Fast delivery and the food is always hot and well prepared. My favourites are the crispy chicken with plum sauce and the small prawn omelette is the best I have ever tasted. Keep up the good work guys!

I am disappointed. I love Thai food, have been to Thailand many time and I know what Thai food should taste like. These restaurant is a disappointment. I couldn’t believe they used sweet chili sauce for the BBQ Beef Thai salad. Even the satay sauce was a disappointment. Pretty sure it was ready made you can buy from a shop. Although the soup is full of prawns and squid they don’t really taste like tom yum. It’s salty. The fried rice was OK though. The old woman working there doesn’t seem happy to serve people. She look and sounds upset each time she walks passed and when she answers questions she sounds upset.

This place is brilliant! The food is excellent with a great price. You can dine in or take-away here. When we came, there wasn't many customers... But truly this restaurant is underrated! If you like Thai food, then this place is a must visit. 😁

I like food so I always travel different country and different restaurant, I choose Thai food on google map tonight, I read Most people good comment and I try to see how is going on this restaurant, after my taste of the commend, the food is not really good Thai food, tastes is not good、small size 、not Reasonable price, ( example: they charge for Aus $2 for chilli sauce, quantity size such as 10cent coin🥶, and I order the fire noodle, Salty and sweet, is the half size compare with the other Thai restaurant. ) I am not Recommend stay dinner in there. Even is not many choose in this area until they do improvement. Good luck!

Absolutely the best Thai food I have ever eaten! I lived in Hervey Bay back in 2009 and ate here all the time. I was managing a set of tourist apartments at the time. It was really good then. I came back to the bay last week and was so excited to see that they were still in business and with the same owner (mao) went last night and it is even better than before. I had the laksa and my wife had the yellow curry. Absolutely beautiful is an understatement. Well done guys, Will definitely be back before we go home and will tell all my friends and family. You have been in business there for 13 years and I can see and taste why! 1000 or of 1000 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Food here is good and the restaurant was packed even on Mon during lunch. Service could be a little better as we need to remind them for this and that. However, the kitchen is efficient as food was served fast.

We booked for a table for 7 and got one of those large round tables. The food was okay and came out quite quickly dispite being busy, but the food was nothing to write home about. We weren't even given the basic sauces for the table as normal yumcha places tend to do (chilli and soy sauce). The table top wasn't even secured on properly, it was just a round table top on top of a square table. The worse part about the table is that it didn't have a lazy susan which every yumcha restaurant I've ever been to has one for their round tables, but not this one. We all had to get off our seats to reach for food everytime, this is not the way to eat yumcha at a round table, very inconvenient and uncomfortable. If you're looking for Chinese food, this place works, but this place is barely passable for a traditional yumcha experience and will charge you the same.

Absolutely love the hospitality here at the Clubhouse, we are regular visitors if it's just for a quick drink overlooking the amazing scenery of the golf course or we are here to put away their amazing well priced and high quality meals! Tonight we had the double beef burger and the Tropico chicken snitty, both meals came out fast, hot and loaded with value. Always served with a smile by the amazing staff and the vibe is always busy (which is a testament to the meals) but it's always so relaxed. Must be the all the greenery around the course. Highly recommend!

Had dinner here twice. The steak special on Thur is worth it. The Thai beef salad is delicious and huge. Grilled baramundi was good too. The only let down was the calamari. Really wasnt great, very deep fried and didnt enjoy the crumb. But everything else was tasty. Good service.

Had Christmas Day 2024 lunch here. Absolutely fantastic. The food was plentiful and good, all the traditional stuff you would ever want plus super fresh oysters, bugs and prawns. The desserts were spectacular and the staff were amazing. Well done and thank you.

Had a absolutely lovely meal with great entertainment and a very nice sever that came to our table multiple times and was super polite to my daughters, AJ I think, would 100% recommend if you want some lovely food and great laughs, and very enjoyable music.

Ok, this is a golf clubhouse so the atmosphere is golf oriented with a backroom of slot machines and keno. We had the barramundi and the lamb shank. Both were outstanding, even for a regular restaurant. The lamb was super tender and juicy. Served with cooked veggies: carrot, zucchini and broccoli. Served with mashed potatoes. The fish was cooked to perfection. A place were you can either order through an app or at the counter. Remember your table number and they will bring your order out to you.

Always a great meal at the Clubhouse and a special mention of staff member Irene. Irene’s friendly demeanor makes everyone feel welcome . Despite the busy atmosphere, she manages to maintain a personal touch, remembering regular customers and their preferences, which adds to the overall experience. It’s clear that she is not only dedicated to her job but also passionate about providing a memorable experience for everyone she serves.😊

Had the lunch chicken schnitzel burger. Dreadful. Dry, over fried. Very little salad on the burger. Venue is nice. Always enjoyed a lunch here. Not recommended anymore

We had an excellent seafood dinner here! The veggies did need much more of the Macadamia dressing to have any sort of flavour though. The best part was definitely the Hervey bay scallops.

This is a fantastic restaurant. On entrance, we were greeted with a smile and given a choice of table. The drink selection is well-rounded and affordable. The menu is largely, seafood based and we had been referred to the restaurant by locals because of this. Their selections did not disappoint! The food was timely, and delicious flavours, some of which suggested hints of Mediterranean influence. Our only issue was actually staff up-selling (or lack thereof). After the lady who seated us, had finished for the night the two serving staff, totally could have convinced my wife to buy a desert and I probably would have had my arm twisted to partake in another bottle of white... I guess we’ll never know now.

Amazing table service and amazing food. Staff were attentive without being overbearing and the food was mouthwatering. Best steak with prawns I have had! Water views were a bonus. What more could you ask for! Thank you very much 😁

Lovely friendly and efficient staff, great view but let down by the food. The soft shell crab was overpowered by buckets of lemon, and seafood pasta patchy hot in the middle which went cool very quickly into a rubbery gelatinous goo. Nice wine.

Great service, fantastic food. Had the seafood plate and mussels, with some cheeky extra oysters. All fresh and served beautifully. Delicious house sauces too.

Nice view, nice venue but the food does not cut it. Tasteless (pre-frozen?) spanner crab. Imported Atlantic Salmon, the Whiting was nothing to write about, over-battered and served with houmous which does not add anything to the fish, it did not taste fresh. Won't be comming back for any more of this. Overpriced for the offering.

Lovely little place with a nice atmosphere food was amazing. Service was also top notch with Steve our waiter looking after us so well. Price was not over the top for the quality of the food and service delivered.

my family and i go to gringos all the time, for years. we always love the food and the amazing owners ofcourse. the past two times i have gone, there is this beautiful young lady working (i didnt get her name). she has amazing customer service, always has a smile on her face and is very resilient when it comes to “issues” you could say. i hope she reads this because i didnt get a chance to tell her tonight. it is also well priced, especially for quality and quantity of food. overall it never disappoints and will forever and always recommend to eat here!!

Im a mad keen Mexican fan. I have it everywhere I go. The first point I should make is this place is super reasonable pricing for the quality and size meals your getting. The serves are generous and the meat is quite delicious. The salsa on top is basically a can of tomatoes which is a bit lazy but its still not bad. It could be better though. The service was also super fast. If they worked on their flavours and sauce a bit they could lift the overall quality and impact of the food.

Great Food and excellent service. The waitress was efficient and friendly, kept up with everything on her own, very nice.

Large portions and the staff were friendly. The restaurant is themed nicely as well. I found the food a bit bland.
