Hiking area
Nydri Waterfalls is a picturesque destination located near the coastal town of Nydri, offering an easy and scenic hike through fragrant citrus and olive groves. The trail leads to a narrow ravine where visitors can hop over slippery rocks to reach the waterfall. During the dry summer season, the waterfall transforms into a gentle trickle, filling a transparent pool at the bottom where people can cool off.
Amazing waterfall, it feels like a fairytale with all the frog sounds and the reflection of the sunlight. It's an easy walk from the (large) parking lot to the waterfall, about 15-20 minutes. Near the parking lot there's also a restaurant where you can get a snack or a drink.
Sanne E — Google review
Our visit was on April 2025. The waterfall had running water. The path was very clean and easy. Beautiful nature…!!! Very cold water. ~20min walking
Dimitris M — Google review
Beautiful! When you go early there is nobody there If you walk from Nydri it's 40 minutes and it's only on 2 short parts a climb (20m long) When you enter the route to the waterfall it is maybe a 10 minute walk. Somethimes the waterfall is dry. Don't expect to spend a lot of time there. It's a really short route so I think it wil be a 30 minute activity.
Collywobbles — Google review
Beautiful and charming place, like a hidden gem :) Unfortunately during our visit the water was already running out and waterfall wasn’t as spectacular as it could be. Therefore a warning - best time to visit is spring and early summer. Around middle of June waterfall was almost dried out.
Kacper S — Google review
Great easy hike, very beautiful waterfalls. A small cafe nearby with good drinks and snacks.
Jennica F — Google review
nice cool little walk from the parking lot up a decent path to the waterfalls. lots of frogs making weird noises. the area in front of the waterfall fills up with people trying to a picture. most of them are very rude.
Brent K — Google review
Very nice place, pretty accesible by a short ( 10 minutes) walk in the forrest on a easy trail. The water is very clear surrounded by hills and forest which could be very pleasant on a summer day. The road from Nydri is accesible by car until a restaurant( free parking) then a short walk in the forest. Nice experience.
Diana R — Google review
Nice hike. Saw frogs, salamanders and crabs. Not a lot water even at the start of June though. Some parts of the path were a little bit crumbly and broken down which made it just a bit more dangerous for small children.

It s a beautiful place but there was no water at all, so we did not see a water fall.
Maria L — Google review
Very nice and climatic place. You need to walk around 10-15 minutes to reach the place from the parking place. There is a lot of people be aware. I had a plan to get into the water while being there, but when I reached the destination I decided not too. The waterfall is too small (not enough rain) and water is simply dirty as there is not enough to run fast.
Lukasz D — Google review
Depending on the season, you should expect to see different views and experiences. When I visited the cascade in summer, there was little to no water flow. However, the 10-minute walk through the gorge to reach the cascade was still very pleasant and absolutely worthwhile. Swimming is still possible, although the water is quite cold. At the entrance of the gorge, there’s a lovely café shaded by a huge plane tree, which I highly recommend for relaxing after the short trek. When you visit come with seaside shoes or sport shoes. Small kids can reach with some assistance from the parents. Parking is available near the café, but spots are limited. Depending on the time of day and season, finding a space can range from easy to a bit challenging—so plan accordingly.
Petros P — Google review
It was a great experience overall and everything there was really nice. However, reaching the top was quite challenging—there were no clear visual paths, some rocks were falling from above, and of course, the little water that was there was freezing cold. Still, if you’ve got the stamina to make it, I definitely recommend visiting this place 100%!
ΡΑΦΑΗΛ Κ — Google review
The day that we visited the waterfalls didn’t have the chance to see the beauty that have been described about ( first week of August) due to lack of rain in the past few months, but the path that you have to follow to get there is wonderful. Almost fully covered with great shadows of the surrounding trees is recommended through the hot day hours. There is a wonderful coffee-bar that serves local refreshments, small snacks coffees and more , as well as a small shop with local products ( honey , marmalade and small gifts for loved ones!!!)
Michael M — Google review
A short easy hike but be careful what time of year you will choose to visit as in the summer the waterfall might be completely dry.
Velissarios G — Google review
A beautiful hike.. but don’t go in August, as you willl have to leave it to your imagination. No water..

For an experience is ok, but there is a poor waterfall.. but again for experience going there is worth for view

Siflogo Winery, nestled in the tranquil setting of the Lefkas mountains, offers an enriching tour and wine tasting experience. Visitors are treated to a captivating tour of the beautiful winery and get to indulge in a tasting session at the charming wine cellar. The hospitable Vasilis shares insights into winemaking and proudly presents a variety of unique wines for sampling. Guests can also purchase these delightful wines at reasonable prices.
We emailed Vasilis in the morning to organize a winery tour and he responded to us within an hour - the tour was awesome! He was super passionate about the wine they make and the wine was amazing, too. Thank you! Looking forward to seeing the wine in Canada one day.
Gergely J — Google review
This is a small and interesting winery. We made a mistake and came without making an appointment with the owner. Don't make the same mistake. The winery was closed. But we were lucky - a few minutes later a wonderful couple of young people showed up who had an appointment to visit the winery. The owner opened the door for them, but it turned out that he only spoke Greek. Thanks to our new acquaintances, who spoke both Greek and English, we were able to fully enjoy both the history of the winery and the owner's stories about the natural wines we tasted through their translation. The winery's red wines have a stunning scarlet and dark scarlet color and an interesting taste. An interesting place worth visiting.
Equip G — Google review
Small-scale winery. The owner took over from his father, who originally did this as a hobby. The son is now doing it professionally on his own. He is very kind and passionate about the wine making. The cellar is just absolutely stunning. Definitely recommend e-mailing him for an appointment to do a tour and tasting.
Sean G — Google review
We had an amazing time here, what a lovely afternoon! We were able to book a spot for a wine tasting at 4pm, which is a little earlier than they typically open. The owner talked about the history of their small family run vineyard, about their process of wine making, and let us tatse the different wines they produce. He was happy to answer questions from us, and i think everyone in our group learned a lot. We had to wait a while for our taxi, so drank some more wine with the owner, and bought a few to take home. We really enjoyed our time there, and hope to go back on a drive through the mountains as it was beautiful, and there was a little village nearby.
Amber G — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at Siflogo and learnt a lot about wine. I would definitely recommend a visit - but do *book in advance*, as the website asks you to. Vasilis will get back to you quickly to make your appointment. This is a small winery, run by Vasilis and his parents, so when Vasilis tells you about the process of making wine, you can be sure he really knows what he's talking about! The discussion takes place in a beautifully atmospheric cellar and, although Vasilis must have given these explanations thousands of times, he talks naturally and engages with visitors in a way that encourages you to ask questions and participate, rather than just listen to a lecture. The wine tasting allows you to try six very different, interesting, modern wines. We liked them all and bought three bottles to drink during the rest of our holiday, wishing we could have bought a lot more to take home. But this experience is about so much more than drinking wine: it's a real education. No pressure to buy any bottles. You can simply soak up the atmosphere and the knowledge. At 10 euros per wine-tasting adult, a visit to Siflogo Winery is an absolute bargain (actually, too cheap!). Highly recommended.
Georgina K — Google review
What a lovely and authentic tour Vasillis provides. He's very knowledgeable and passionate about his vineyard and winery. We've undertaken many wine tours across Europe but as an experience this is in our top three! The six wines we tasted were all very good, with interesting aromatic boaquets. Vasillis exports much of his wine to the US, although that's on hold because of tariffs. It's important to book in advance, although Vasillis went out of his way to accommodate us at short notice. Excellent 👌
Ashley P — Google review
Such an amazing experience we had there. The vineyard was very impressive with fantastic views to the sea and a cute chapel on top. The wine tasting was excellent, we tasted some unique natural wines only available at the island. The owner was so kind and friendly. Of course we will repeat!

The wine tasting was fantastic! The atmosphere was authentic and welcoming – you can immediately feel the passion Vasilis puts into cultivating his wines. We can highly recommend a visit!

Road cycling
Get Active Lefkas, run by Simon and Lucy, offers a comprehensive service for both on and off-road cyclists near Nidri. They provide guided rides around local villages and waterfall cafes, catering to mixed abilities with nice hard-tail bikes that handle country lanes and gravel paths with ease. Additionally, they offer road bike rentals delivered to Nidri, providing good overviews of the island's best routes and fast responses to any questions via WhatsApp.
Cycling in Lefkas is an amazing experience. Epic mountain climbs, thrill seeking descents, remote village cafe’s, poppy covered mountain plateaus in the spring and stunning island views, just to name a few! To do this you need a good, well maintained bike. Look no further than GetActive Lefkas. I’ve hired bikes from Simon and Lucy at GetActive Lefkas for the past couple of years and the service is 5*. I hired a Giant carbon TCR disc bike in small for 6 days this autumn. GetActive Lefkas provides a delivery and pick up service straight to your door coupled with excellent communication, this works really well. I used the spd pedals provided by Simon and he kindly fitted my own saddle. Simon knows the island really well and offers advice on routes and also support if needed whilst out cycling. GetActive Lefkas offer a great all round service and I would 100% recommend.
Julie L — Google review
Had a great advanced ride with Simon. No shortage of climbing and wonderful views! He was always careful to point out hazards. We stopped at a lovely café to round out the 28K ride with 700 m of climbing. Bravo, Simon and Get Active! Thank you!
Patty C — Google review
Joined an intermediate MTB tour to see a bit more of the local area and get some miles in. The bikes were immaculately maintained and adjusted to fit before leaving plus being kitted out with a helmet. I’m mainly a road biker back home and we don’t have hills like these so this was a challenge for me and I didn’t make it up the old 50e hill, needing to get off a walk up the rest of the way but we regrouped and carried on. The down hill route was fun and it was good to loop around from different routes up the hill to go down 3 times enabling us to get more confident with the route and let loose a bit. Ended the ride with a trip up to the “waterfall” where we stopped at the cafe for a drink. 30e for the tour and the hard tail I used was great value, Simon was a good host and ride leader, hopefully I’ll get another ride or 2 in whilst I’m here if there are more groups running.

Hired a road bike for 5 days to explore Lefkada. Great communication in advance of arrival to the island. Bike was delivered to my holiday villa the day before rental was due to start. Lefkada has some fantastic rides. Hills if you want them on the west coat and centre of the island. The east offers some flatter rides along the coast. All in all cannot recommend Get Active Lefkada enough for hire of a road bike and the island for some stunning rides.
Simon M — Google review
Came down for 4 days in September 2024 and had an absolute blast! Lefkada is a hidden gem for cyclists - picturesque views, challenging climbs, and exciting descents. Rented a lovely Aluminum frame road bike with 105 gearing (spare tube, levers, multi-tool, helmet included) from GetActiveLefkas, which Simon kindly helped set up with my own pedals and saddle before starting my ride. Had 0 issues with the bike, and found Simon, Lucy, and Frankie (🐕) to be very welcoming and helpful - it was the perfect holiday, and I find myself yearning to go back!
Arjun G — Google review
We did a beginner guided tour with 2 kids (7&9y) in the morning. Perfect conditions for them to get familiar with a MTB through the 🫒 fields. The hosts were very friendly and take their time, bikes in good condition! I'd recommend it to anyone who is on Lefkas and wants to do something more active 😀
Geert M — Google review
Excellent road bike hire from Lucy and Simon at Get Active. I rented a Giant Contend road bike with disc brakes for 7 days. Best road bike hire I’ve ever experienced on holiday. Excellent communication with Lucy from the moment of booking. Simon delivered the bike to my villa the night before my rental so I could get riding first thing the next morning. I stayed in a villa in a bay below Poros so had to endure a 2 mile uphill wake-up every morning but well worth it for the excellent riding on such a beautiful island. Would highly recommend.
Tim E — Google review
First class service from Lucy and Simon at Get Active Lefkas. We rented a carbon Giant TCR Advanced road bike and Nukeproof MTB for six days in July and the bikes were in excellent condition and perfect for tackling the climbs from our west coast base into the mountain villages on this stunning island. Simon delivered (and collected) the bikes and also gave us some great tips on quiet routes into the hills. Highly recommend hiring bikes from this friendly company and look forward to returning to Lefkada for more two-wheeled adventures.

Port Nidri, located on the east coast of Lefkas, is a popular starting point for boat trips to various islands including Kalamos, Meganisi, Sparti, Skorpios, Skorpidi, Ithaca, Madouri, and Kefalonia. The port offers ferry and yacht excursions to Kefalonia and Ithaca as well as cruises along the beaches of Lefkada.
There are a lot of coffees and restaurants at the Marina, perfect for lunch, near the coast with a great view to the ferry and variety of boats and yachts. If you are interested in the price for one car and four people, it costs us 69 euros :) the shipping was quick and easy, and we traveled around 1 hour and 50 minutes to Fiscardo from Nidri

Based on the reviews, it seemed promising. We had a mixed grill, but the fries were very soggy, and the gyros felt like the last, driest scraps from the spit. Other meat and salat was fine. The waiter also didn’t ask even once how the food was. Overall disappointed feeling

We tried mousaka, greek salad and some dip with cheese, olive oil and tomatoes(dont remember the exact name) and the food literally took me to another dimension. I felt like im sitting in a greek grandma’s kitchen eating authentic greek home made food. Ola Kala, a Greek restaurant in Nydri, offers fantastic and delicious cuisine at reasonable prices. The portions are generous, so keep that in mind when ordering. The owner is friendly and engages with guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere. This central establishment boasts excellent food without breaking the bank. Although the garlic bread may not meet your expectations, other dishes such as fried vegetables and stuffed tomatoes are exceptional. However, be prepared for flies as they can be bothersome during certain evenings.

This is by far the best restaurant we have experienced in all of Greece. The place is spotless, with a wonderful atmosphere that makes you feel instantly welcome. Communication was excellent and the service absolutely flawless. Prices are very reasonable, and the food was incredibly delicious, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. We highly recommend this restaurant to all tourists — you will leave more than satisfied. Special greetings to the entire staff from a couple visiting from Vlora with our 3-year-old son. Possibly the worst taverna in Nidri. The good reviews are posted by family , friends, and the staff. The food is not worth giving to your dog. Kleftiko, which should be tender slow cooked lamb was chewy and topped with some sort of stringy cheese. CHEESE ON KLEFTIKO !!! Unheard of and disgusting. The curries have no substance, no body, no flavour. Mousavi was sliced from an old tray of leftovers. Basically, shockingly terrible food that is over-priced. Not to mention the unfriendly staff and the stubborn arrogance if the till girl who argued with her customers when they commented about the poor food quality. Absolutely NOT recommended. In fact, don't even think about it.

Good quality coffee! The espresso is just right. Have some tasty food options. But the best of all is that its available for the early birds as it is open before 0730am. If you like good coffee this is the spot I would recommend.

During our vacation, we discovered Coffee Beans — a lovely little café with an incredibly pleasant atmosphere. We decided to stop by for a delicious coffee and a quick bite, and it turned out to be one of our favorite places!🫶🏻 They serve the best iced coffee, matcha, and fresh orange juice. The spanakopita literally melts in your mouth, and their wide variety of focaccia with different toppings is a real explosion of flavors!💣 The owner, Konstantina, is a beautiful and kind woman, always smiling and full of positive energy. She even helped us with recommendations for places to visit, which we truly appreciated. The young man who makes the coffee (we didn’t catch his name) was also incredibly nice and welcoming.😎 We’re so grateful for everything they did for us — we send them our warmest hugs and wish them all the success in the world!🇬🇷🤍

It is a bit hard to spot driving around. The signs are small and the vegetation or cars hide it as well. Really nice coffee place with many sandwiches and coffee options, including matcha which is not offered in many places in the island.

really delicious coffee, sweets, and pies. I had hot and iced coffees, cream puffs, tyropita, and spanakopita (over many days! not all at once). the pies have really nice thick, crunchy pastry, making them easy to be handheld. the lemon cream puff is really bright and refreshing. the staff are very friendly!

Flat white wasn’t great, it was more like cappuccino. They could use proper cups if having it in the cafe. €2.5 was reasonable though

Absolutely the best coffee in Nydri! The quality is top-notch, and you can really taste the difference. What makes the experience even better is the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff – always smiling and making you feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot if you're in town and looking for a great coffee and warm service!

Nestled in the charming hamlet of Kolyvata, just a short drive from Nikiana on Lefkada's east coast, Maria's Tavern offers an intimate dining experience that feels like stepping into a friend's home. Run by the delightful Kiria Maria, this one-woman operation serves up delicious meals crafted from fresh ingredients sourced directly from her garden.
A proper Greek tavern in the middle of nowhere, it’s like going to dine in a warm little house. The food is very authentic and delicious, probably the best in the whole island. It’s run by a family and they’re so welcoming. Thank you for the beautiful dinner!

We feel so lucky to have discovered Maria’s Taverna. It’s a special place with the best, most flavorful Greek home cooking, tucked into the tiny village of Kolyvata. We called ahead and her daughter so nicely took our names and reservation for our table of 5. The drive there through the mountains was a treat in and of itself - we saw goats and olive groves and some grand views of the interior of Lefkada. Then we arrived and it truly is dinner in Maria’s home, with her grandchildren playing happily in the living room, and no written menu, but her son-in-law came to give us the specials of the day. We wanted to try everything! So we ordered the Greek salad, the spinach pie (with her own homemade phyllo dough), the meatballs, the stuffed peppers and stuffed tomatoes, the aubergine baked with tomato, onion and cheese, the slow baked chicken with vegetables, and lastly, the grilled local sausages. The food just kept coming and we ate heartily and well - I have never had Greek food quite like this. The meatballs were spiced with mint(?) and tasted so savory and delicious. Every dish was special and incredibly delicious! The food was wonderful and so was the hospitality. It was a special special experience for our family to be welcomed into Maria’s home. We love to eat and to cook and I can tell that Maria is an exceptionally talented cook. Her ingredients are impeccable and flavorful, and she just knows how to make really good food. She was also so lovely with our children and the other guests, visiting with them and asking how everything was, even though I’m sure English is not her first language. How lucky we are to have met Maria and gotten the chance to eat in her home. An incredible memory we will never forget!

The best local restaurant in Lefkada so far. I went with my husband there, we loved everything about the food and the atmosphere so the next day we went with the whole group. All of the dishes are homemade, super fresh and tasty and a plus for cat lovers, there are some cats from the village who come there and walk around the place, providing a nice vibe. On the way there we also saw some foxes and groundhogs.

Maria’s tavern is nestled in one of the most beautiful, lush villages on the island. The easiest route is to take the road through Platystoma (not the one via Nikiana). The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic Greek flavors. The eggplant was phenomenal, the meatballs were out of this world, the sausage was outstanding, and the saganaki was one of the best we’ve ever had. We visited twice in just a few days, and we’ll definitely be back for more! 😊

Best food and experience in Lefkada. Cute little house up in the mountains. Went with 3 of my friends and ordered everything on the todays menu.. 10/10 !! Incredible food from an incredible woman who cooks the food in her own house! Got the sunset over the mountains. Love this place, definitely bringing my whole family next time. Thanks Maria!

The only place we visited three times during our vacation — such a refreshing contrast to the overcrowded tourist spots along the coast. The menu may be simple, but every dish is absolutely delicious. The portions are enormous, and to top it all off, there's a divine sense of peace and a breathtaking view of the mountains.

Eating at Maria’s feels like a warm hug and the atmosphere reminds me of coming home to my grandma- feeling safe that I will be feed heart warming food. The meatballs and pork and potatoes in the oven was amazing- so big portions that we got the leftovers to go. Defently worth the trip up the scenic mountains of lefkanda!

Had the most perfect evening at Maria's, it was lovely to be so well looked after and we felt like honoured guests at her house. For Maria's sanity, do remember to call well in advance to book a table first and bring cash with you. It's very much home style cooking and she only buys in what she needs each day (and only makes enough food for the bookings she knows are coming). Maria does EVERYTHING herself, which is just a marvel, but hard work for her. It is not a drop-in restaurant. We saw a few people try to rock up with no booking and no cash, which caused Maria a fair bit of bother. Do make the trip up for dinner if you are in the vicinity, it's a very special experience and I cannot recommend it enough. Enjoy the wild, hair-raising drive up to Kolivata, and watch out for cows in the road if coming back down in the dark.
