Gardens
Sea Garden in Varna is a well-known seaside park featuring beautifully landscaped gardens, promenades, and a science museum. Established in 1862, it was the first park in Varna and has since become the heart of the city, offering a vibrant space for locals and visitors to enjoy various activities. The garden boasts lush green alleys, cultural monuments, and a charming rosary by the sea.
One of the best parks I have been in! A must visit when in Varna, we were in the park for almost 8 hours! Beautiful flowers, quite, lots of green. It was quite cold for us, be prepared ;)
Tomer G — Google review
I visited it on March 14 2025, and it went back the next morning. It is the most beautiful coastal park that I have ever visited. It is about 2-km long. I am so glad that Varna has kept the prime piece of land for public access.
Hong Z — Google review
Huge park along the seaside, great for walks, sports and any activities, beautiful nature! Could be nice to have more coffee shops.
Inna B — Google review
Walk amongst nature with a view of the Black Sea and beautiful flowers and trees. Very wide walkways with room for walking, cycling and resting on the many sitting benches. Numerous plaques and monuments to honor the past and endless flowerbeds to liven up the present.
Victor O — Google review
Worth a visit to take a nice long stroll along the many foot paths. The naval museum is a good visit to see military articles from a few decades ago. DO NOT park anywhere that is not allowed (not even for a few seconds to drop of a mommy and her sleeping baby), the traffic police is quick to pounce and do not take any excuses, then your day is spoiled trying to find a place to pay the ticket. Varna city have nice beach areas and harbour but the rest reflects very much the pre-1989 era.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the most beautiful places in Varna! 🌊🌳 Sea Garden is pure happiness — full of fresh air, peaceful walks, and stunning green nature everywhere. The paths are clean and wide, perfect for walking, jogging, or biking 🚴. The view of the sea from the park is magical and refreshing, especially during sunrise or sunset 🌅. Every time I visit, I feel recharged, relaxed, and grateful for such a wonderful fresh air. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone who wants to enjoy nature at its best. ❤️

Pretty big, lots of space and entertainment. Clean and cosy. Food courts, playgrounds, zoo and even dolphins. We enjoyed it.
Oleksandr B — Google review
It's a wonderful place to visit, it's very whimsical and beautiful, it's calm and the trees are big, the river is beautiful and the elk statue is my favorite spot in Varna, the view of the sea is wonderful too, just amazing overall

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Varna Zoo, located in Primorski Park, is a unique urban oasis where wildlife thrives. The zoo houses over 60 species of animals, including tigers, bears, kangaroos, monkeys, and pelicans. Visitors can enjoy spacious aviaries and open spaces that allow for up-close encounters with the animals. Established in 1961, the zoo is also a sanctuary for 17 protected species and serves as an animal rescue center.
Varna Zoo is a small but charming attraction that feels like a step back in time, with its retro communist-era aesthetics adding a nostalgic touch. The enclosures may not be the most modern, but the zoo offers an impressive selection of exotic animals, including lions, tigers, and bears. Despite its old-fashioned design, the facility is well-maintained, and the animals appear well cared for. It’s an affordable and interesting stop for families or animal lovers visiting Varna. While it lacks the polish of larger zoos, its unique atmosphere and diverse wildlife make it a worthwhile visit.
Jay G — Google review
I had a great time at the Varna Zoo. The whole place was clean, well-maintained, and easy to walk through. All of the animals looked healthy and well cared for, which made the visit even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the chance for kids to feed the deer—something they clearly loved. It’s a nice way to let children interact with the animals in a safe and respectful environment. Overall, it was a really pleasant visit. If you’re in Varna and looking for a family-friendly activity, the zoo is definitely worth checking out.
Nikolay B — Google review
A really nice place and definitely worth a visit in Varna. The animals seem to be doing well and look healthy. There are a lot of different animals and you can get to know them surprisingly close. The park is quite small and you can walk through it in about an hour. The entrance fee is really small, so it is definitely worth a visit.
Jarno S — Google review
It's a great place to bring kids to spend the day at. The entrance fee per adult is 3 leva which is quite cheap for the animals they have inside. Most of the animals are in cages that result small for their sizes, such as the bear or the linx, they were quite stressed walking around over and over again the same way.
Nerea H — Google review
Zoo in centre of Varna. Entry is 6 leva. It’s not big and took an hour to walk around. Fairly quiet and the big cats seemed to be sleeping in the afternoon so not seen.
Neil D — Google review
Children friendly and safe. You'll need to purchase a ticket at the entrance. The zoo clos3s by 6pm.
Barr. H — Google review
Small, but well kept, nice place to visit with your child, especially on 1st June
Izabel S — Google review
Not a big place, but really worth to visit with children. It took around 40 minutes to walk through all zoo.

The Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna is a significant cultural landmark with six large halls, a shopping center, and well-equipped gyms. It holds various events and is known for rhythmic gymnastics practice. The venue hosts sports like badminton and table tennis, with plans to host prime martial arts events from 2019.

I attended several times to watch the CEV European Volleyball championships. Great venue for it but parking was very limited.

From what I personally saw of the PCS, it was quite spacious, definitely enough to house AniFest 2025 while we were there. But there were lacking in the AC department. I hear it's a very common problem among these massive buildings, but it was especially hot during the two days we visited. Otherwise, a great mega building fit to house sporting and other kinds of events!

Great conference venue in Varna. Two halls seating around 500 each. All things considered, this is a great venue for large scale events. #varna #conferencevenue

I've been there a few times and I don't think I'll ever be disappointed! There are loads of different events being held at this place and they're all interesting and they're worth being visited! The hall is tremendous and it holds at least 4 thousand people!

Iconic place in Varna, still lots of great cultural and sports events are taking place there. I used to train badminton for 14 years there, table tennis is the major sport there at the moment though. From 2019 the Palace is going to host prime martial arts sport events, cannot wait!

Varna Summer Theatre

Amphitheater
Varna Summer Theatre, with its iconic clock tower standing at 24 meters tall and dating back to 1888, is a beloved landmark in the city. The open-air amphitheater is surrounded by lush greenery, making it an ideal venue for events like the Varna Summer International Music Festival. Visitors have enjoyed unforgettable performances by renowned artists such as Krassimira Stoyanova, creating cherished memories of Bulgaria. Despite some seating discomfort, patrons appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff.
We enjoyed the Ghost musical. The singing was in English, and translation was provided for the Bulgarian-speaking parts. The quality of singing was not as good as in the London theatres, for example, but it was surprisingly not bad. The theatre itself is very unusual and pretty, with trees and flowers surrounding the place. It’s recommended to buy tickets in advance.
Margo B — Google review
Excellent venue and amazing concert. The Four Italian tenors what wonderful voices and the acoustics of the open air theatre was very special.

Great venue, easy access....parking is a bit tight even streets away....would definitely go again...plenty of place to eat before or after....disable access too!
Paul C — Google review
The venue is pleasant during the summer hot nights. Seats are not very comfortable and bathrooms are questionable but the natural decoration and the artists usually take the first place.

We went to see Rachkov forbidden 🚫 show and it was an amazing experience. The theater its lovely the stage and the venue amazing. Seating outside under the sky and watching theatre 🎥 its amazing experience. Food and drink available outside. The theatre is about 15min away in the varna sea garden from the closest Parking. I recommend 👌 👏 👍 ☺️

The emblem of Varna, the pride and a gem in the Sea garden 🪴, a place that gather all the cultural elite in the summer. A big theatre 🎭 with a reasonable stage to accommodate 🩰 ballet, concert, opera and many more - national and international. With a natural greenery inside . Well maintained, a bit of improvement needed.

Restaurant
Marché Restaurant in Varna has successfully built a loyal customer base with its cozy interior, traditional brunch, and diverse seasonal menus. Situated by the beach, this elegant yet approachable restaurant boasts marvelous design and friendly staff. The homemade vanilla ice cream is particularly noteworthy. With an open garden for summer and a closed winter garden, it offers a perfect atmosphere for lunches. The menu features delicious options including vegan choices like the best vegan pizza ever.
Let me tell you, as a Bulgarian student studying in France, Marché is hands down the best French cuisine spot outside of France! It’s truly the pearl of the Black Sea shore. The service is top-level, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is both elegant and cozy. One of the highlights is their amazing wine selection, perfectly complementing the ever-evolving menu. They work with the freshest ingredients, ensuring a high-quality culinary experience every time. NB: The raclette in the picture was exceptional, but it was part of their Christmas menu. It may not be available year-round, but trust me, there’s plenty more to discover at Marché! A must-visit for anyone in Varna!

I had the tuna steak and the spring salad with quail eggs and asparagus. The salad was underwhelming, very few eggs and mostly lettuce. The tuna steak was perfect. Great atmosphere, and great service. The waiters speak great english. Bit pricey, but highly recommended.

We got the perfect waiter to welcome and serve us at Marche! The food was very good and I was impressed with the desserts. Top restaurant in Varna!
Yanko G — Google review
In a nice space, but for a place that markets itself as upscale, I highly recommend against it. Ordered a sparking mineral water (emphasised the mineral part) and scrambled eggs. Got club soda. She came back with scrambled eggs on a chipped ceramic plate and brought Perrier. The eggs came with no bread or potatoes— who eats eggs by themselves? This is not a keto-forward restaurant. Had to ask for bread. Took ages and I told them my eggs were getting cold, but they literally shrugged. The bread finally came burnt to coal and looked more like chocolate biscotti at that point. They called the bread focaccia on the bill, which is also troubling. I had to chip off the black crust and eat my cold scrambled eggs. What a strange experience. In a way, unforgettable.
Jagoda B — Google review
Great lunch experience. The crispy lunch pizza was very delicious, the gazpacho and salad very fresh. The aubergine with halloumi was very well prepared. The cherry on top was the dessert lime and raspberry panna cotta was a summer delights we will remember for a long time! Service is okay but I think waiters can be a bit more positive and polite. Overall, good experience.
Pepa N — Google review
The food was pretty good, but the service not great. Our waiter acted as it was really unpleasant for him to talk to us.
Ecaterina C — Google review
The restaurant was absolutely fantastic. We had reserved a table, and it took them only seconds to seat us. The atmosphere in their garden is truly unique, and the speed at which the meals were prepared was phenomenal, especially considering how busy it was. The food was outstanding, and the servers were polite, friendly, and attentive. Everything was simply perfect — highly recommended!
Stefan G — Google review
I needed a few days to figure it out what to say as this place is elegant and elevated and in the same time is not intimidating! The design of the entire setup is just marvelous! The art on the walls and on the tables, the little knickknacks, here and there, satisfying your curiosity! I would say, thank you to whoever takes care of this place! The staff is friendly and witty! The food is good, but I will comment only the amazing homemade vanilla ice cream, that brings back childhood memories! I know vanilla ice cream is so common and ordinary and not original choice but was so well done, so well done!!! BTW you have to try the mekitsi with icecream and golden honey and jem! Amazingly scrumptious!!! Thank you! I will be back for more of everything!

Veranda Horizont is a restaurant with a diverse menu and unique flavors, offering a romantic ambiance. The open terrace features high bar tables and an elegant atmosphere, making it a great spot to mingle after enjoying a perfect meal. Chef Mario Manolov surprises guests with fresh ideas and tastes, creating dishes served with love. Visitors praise the great quality of food, especially the tuna tartar, tuna tataki, grilled octopus, and desserts. The attentive service adds to the overall experience.
I have been here before and I will keep coming back for sure, till this place exists! Not just because the amazing view and atmosphere! Not just because the most delicious food in town but also because the amazing stuff that makes the experience complete, satisfying and wholesome! We were 10 people at our table, mostly kids and our waiter was the most patient man! He got our entire order without mistake! He handled the situation with smilel! Our table was hectic and He got us things that wasn't in the menu, just to keep the kids happy! Thank you Dimitar T.!!! We visited for lunch, it would be great if they can add some shades for tables with a view. We selected this place because of the views, but in reality the view is not that visible…the food was good, it’s more fine dining restaurant.

Wanted to visit Veranda since last summer. And finally did, and it was totally worth it. Was very positively surprised by the great quality of the food and elevated taste especially the tuna tartar and the tuna tataki. As well as the grilled octopus and of course the deserts. The service is great as well, we asked to move our table as the seagulls were annoying and they did it no questions asked. The price reflects the quality of the food and the service. Will come again for sure . Once of the best if not the best in Varna .

The atmosphere and the service were very good! Everything was done fast and you can see that they highly value the fast service. Hotel
Rosslyn Dimyat Hotel Varna offers a laid-back atmosphere with cozy rooms and stunning bay views. The hotel features two restaurants, a bar, and a spa for guests to unwind. Guests can enjoy spacious sauna and steam room facilities in the spa center, although bringing your own towels is recommended. The deluxe double rooms offer beautiful views from the 8th floor, while even the economy/classic rooms are described as big and comfortable.
I've been staying at this hotel since 2021, both in summer and September, and I’ve always felt warmly welcomed and safe - truly a home away from home. The rooms are spacious, with breathtaking views, and the Sea Garden and beach are just a short walk away. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a delicious breakfast with seasonal fruits and diverse options, plus an excellent à la carte menu. On my most recent visit, I stayed with my 4-year-old niece, and once again, the experience was impeccable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel did not meet expectations. The food selection was very limited, and the quality was underwhelming. It felt like leftovers from the previous day, which was quite disappointing. The staff were not particularly welcoming and had difficulty communicating in English. The room itself was spacious and recently renovated, which was a positive aspect. However, a strong sewage odor in the bathroom significantly impacted the overall comfort of the stay. I truly hoped for a better experience, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

I slept here for one night due to work appointment and was impressed by the view and spacious room. Bed is comfortable and I wish I would stay more. Breakfast is rich and even a pickie person as me, could find something delicious. I tried also and menu from the restaurant and have no remarks (no photo as I was rather hungry). Sea garden is just across the street, there is a bus station to the airport. Hope to try spa services next time.
Desislava H — Google review
We were "welcomed" at the reception by a slightly full-figured lady who was completely uninterested. She didn’t greet us, showed no willingness to assist, and looked as if she didn’t want to be there. The lack of courtesy and engagement left a very bad impression. The hotel definitely needs to improve its service quality because the first interaction with the staff is crucial for the overall experience

This is a wonderful hotel in a perfect location. Walkable to all things Varna. Directly across the street from a wonderful park and a few minutes walk to the Black Sea. The hotel is spacious, clean, and comfortable with stunning views! The breakfast has plenty of wonderful and delicious options! All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this hotel! Perfect place to stay in Varna!

Wow, wow and wow.. What can I say this hotel ,The location, the Staff , The Resturant just amazing 10 out of 10 is what this place is !! The Rooms are big, Clean, Modern. Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you, the hotel is classy and up market, The breakfast is good, The hotel is not far from the town centre, About 30min from Varna Airport. I travel a lot around the world and have stayed at some amazing hotels especially in Dubai, We have been coming here to Varna for the last 7 years and always stay at this hotel as we have family that live in Varna. Lots of the staff are the same over the years and and always welcome us and remember us we have become that part of the hotel family now, I always say people buy from people and the staff certainly stand out but I have to say a special mention to Ekaterina she is the front desk Manager she’s just great and fabulous always happy, Always smiling and she just glows and shines with a fantastic personality 👏👍😊 The General Manager of the hotel is lovely, As is Rositsa she’s the deputy Sales and Marketing director. Thank you to you all for looking after us again and making our stay so pleasant.. We made some special memories and until the next time.

Air Condition is barely working, they had the window open and the room was full of mosquitoes and other flies. Tried to get the AC to work, neither alone succeeded, nor the staff cared enough to find a solution. Let’s not mention the batches of hair in the “jacuzzi”. Feels like sleeping in a zoo. For 300+ lev/night, atleast expecting basic necessities to be delivered.

The Marceda Wine and Dinner restaurant, described as a white book, is highly regarded for its exceptional meat dishes. The establishment takes pride in their skillful meat preparation, ensuring that customers won't receive overcooked veal or oily pork. The owner personally guarantees customer satisfaction, making it a worthwhile dining experience. While the restaurant may not have a modern or fancy ambiance, the food remains outstanding with top-notch quality similar to other renowned establishments.
We went on a Monday night and it was excellent. There weren’t many other tables, so we received excellent service. To me, what sets a restaurant apart from others is often the excellent service they provide and this place deserves an award for their service. They had great recommendations and wonderful, high-quality, gourmet food. The dishes were very tasty and paired with an excellent compliment of wonderful wine. Truly a great dining experience that will not disappoint.

JUL2024: a random but great discovery in Varna. Located in a more quiet residential area of this city, yet with many coffee shops, neighborhood bars and small shops. This restaurant is unpretentious in style but achieves fantastic results. Food is most tasty and service very friendly. Menu combines Bulgarian classics with some international influence. A whole sushi selection also, which is actually successful. And 60 different types of beer ! My favorite part maybe ;)

Unpretentious Bulgarian restaurant. The meat is to die for. I had a great slow cooked lamb shoulder, amazing. And the cheesecake! And the homemade rakia, must try!

Great food and service. I had a generous serve of slow-cooked lamb shoulder which was succulent and tender, my wife had the fresh sea bass that was beautifully cooked, finished off with blueberry cheesecake. Accompanied by craft beer. The best food we've had in Europe.

The place is not very modern or fancy but the food is outstanding and still offers the very good quality it has been the case in other places in the past. The red house wine was very good as also the food I tasted. The salad came with olive oil which is not standard in Bulgaria apparently and real olives. The meat was very tender and tasty. Very recommended

Mall Varna EAD is a large shopping center with over 100 shops, featuring popular global brands and a diverse food court. While some visitors have noted that several shops were closed during their visit, the mall offers a soft play area for kids, making it convenient for parents to shop. It is also praised for its reasonable prices compared to other malls. However, some reviewers mentioned that the mall appears older and less crowded, with several empty store spaces.
This place is amazing It has your high end designer shops and highstreet stores like zara H&M etc. The Hansel and Gretel sweet shop is a beautiful site in itself and there is much more to explore . It also has a n indoor entertainment complex hosting A cinema etc.

This mall is very sad — I don’t understand the positive reviews. I went on the 7th of August to try and find a present. I found one watch store, a New Yorker, and a Lilly’s, but the rest of the mall is deserted. The escalators do not work, some of the lights were switched off, and the places that are open are mainly gyms or dance studios. It was a very sad experience. Rather go to Delta Mall or Grand Mall.
Short S — Google review
As I was reading some of the reviews, 10 (or 20%) of the people were talking how was the mall then vs. now. Before, there were no closed or gone shops, was the top, now almost 90% (even worse 95%) of the shops were closed. Only 5 shops, 2 ,,restaurants", a bank, a change, a trampoline park & that's it. There is a 100% chance for the mall to be destroyed, & to build smth else. I give one star, because I saw a review abt the toilets that in the toilet paper (in the Women's bathroom) there was a syringe, many plastic bottles in the toilets, & we don't have to forget the drawings on the walls.
Stilyan T — Google review
The mall seems quite old and there were not so many people there. Quite a few store spaces were empty.

Almost empty, many shops are closed

Sad mall near the end of its life. Dark and dingy in places, lots of empty lots. Whole floors without shops, escalators not working.

Grand Mall is a large, modern shopping center in Varna, Bulgaria. It offers a diverse range of shops and services, including international brands like H&M, Bershka, and Zara as well as local stores for clothing, footwear, jewelry, and electronics. The mall features a top-floor food court with various dining options and a cinema with multiple halls showing different movies. Visitors can enjoy arcade games and bowling for both kids and adults.
Good shopping centre. Plenty of shops and places to eat.

Mall with all products you can imagine I guess 7 floors (including underground. Food court at the top. Good cheap stores and also the big western brands.
Thomas V — Google review
Nice place for shopping with lots of stores, a great kids zone, and a super cinema! 🎬🧒 But on rainy summer days, parking is chaos. It says “2 hours free” everywhere, but I had to pay after 1:59! The machine asked me to pay, so I had to block the traffic just to go back and pay — very frustrating and confusing. Also, the toilets seriously need more cleaning. Whatever it takes — just keep them clean, please! 😅🚗🛍️🙏
Desialava A — Google review
Good mall for shopping and eating. Very clean, with interesting decor and options. I wish the free-parking offer was longer than 2 hours, it seems very small time to visit more stores in a mall. Reasonable time would be at least 4 hours IMO
Rossana F — Google review
Amazing place, lots of shops and food options.. very well decorated and clean

A good size mall with a variety of shops. Bern twice now and on both occasions the men’s toilets on the first floor are totally unhygienic. Looks like not been cleaned for weeks or the clientele just mess it up.

Good sized mall with fun GOOGLE style branding. Very full mall but not particularly busy, not many empty stores here, predominantly retail but had the Retro Museum here and Cinema, amusement arcade and food court. Shops are a series of the big mega brands and smaller more local to Bulgaria stores.

The Retro Museum, located in Varna, is a one-of-a-kind museum that displays a wide array of artifacts and items from the period spanning 1944 to 1989. This museum offers visitors an exclusive opportunity to delve into the lifestyle and culture of Bulgarians during the socialist era.
Loved it! It's like this huge park right next to the sea. I don't really understand how some were allowed to build houses/villas in the park, but they did. Nice views, some nice restaurants, great for running/cycling etc.
Razvan D — Google review
Amazing blast from the past. Besides thousands of antique items from the Soviet era, there is an impressive car collection. Each of the vehicles is perfectly restored and displayed. Very recommended
Dany K — Google review
Great experience, great old cars and old stuff. You can easily waste 1 or 2 hours there and enjoy them. Next to it is a wax museum containing Bulgarian and international celebrities.
Vito H — Google review
Don't be fooled by the car pictures into thinking that this is ONLY a car museum. There are so many household items like hygiene products, toys, musical instruments, televisions, cigarettes, desserts used and consumed by the people in those times. This museum is a travel to the past! I have to say that the price is a bit expensive.
Alper A — Google review
What a fascinating place. I wouldn't call it a museum necessarily, but the collection of cars and everyday items from the communist times in Europe (not much from Asia). If you're a fan of the history of ordinary things and people, this is the place. I probably could've spent hours here, but the air conditioning was not the best so it got a bit stuffy in there. They also play music from the era which is great for the atmosphere. The wax museum is meh, I personally would skip it. Not worth the extra money. There's also a great selection of magnets in the gift shop. I had a hard time choosing ones that I liked.
Kate — Google review
An amazing museum that takes you back in time. Growing up in the communist times sure brings back a lot of nostalgia and memories. The collection it's just amazing, all the pieces in very good condition and the atmosphere is great. Worth all the money and definitely it's a no miss attraction in Varna!
C. L — Google review
BGN 30 entry. Large collection of beautifully restored communist era cars, toys and some homewares. Sadly, the music was too loud, none of the car brand names were displayed in English (despite having car info in four languages), and many information displays were blank. There was also no history of, for example, the Soviet car industry and wether people living under communism could actually afford to own or run cars.
Mali T — Google review
Good museum, cool cars and a lot of household objects from the solviet era. Everything was clean and well taken care of, tha cars were fully restored and they had mirrors underneath so you could see the underside. The price was fair (30 leva) The giftstore was lacking a little but all in all very good museum👍👍

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this place. The staff were rude and unhelpful, treating customers as if they were a burden rather than valued clients. I asked for assistance, but they were dismissive and acted like they were doing me a favor by even speaking to me. The service was slow, and my concerns were ignored completely. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. They need serious improvements in customer service and attitude.

The mall was way worse than the grand mall! It’s almost empty compared to the grand mall! I would much rather to go to the grand mall! They are ~1 kilometre from each other!
Geometry D — Google review
Oh boy, where do I even begin with this shopping mall? First off, let's talk about the bathrooms. If you thought porta-potties at a music festival were bad, wait until you get a whiff of these stink bombs. I'm pretty sure they haven't been cleaned since the invention of indoor plumbing. And don't even think about trying to dry your hands after washing them because there are no dryers or paper towels in sight. It's like the mall management is trying to give us all a case of pneumonia. Oh, and let's not forget about the food court. If you enjoy eating stale, overpriced food while sitting on sticky, unsanitary tables, then you'll feel right at home here. And good luck finding a table that hasn't been taken over by a group of unruly teenagers. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this shopping mall to my worst enemy. Unless, of course, they enjoy the smell of rotting garbage and the feeling of damp, unsanitary hands. In that case, they might just love it here.
Kanat N — Google review
A good place for shopping and the kids can play for free on the big slides. Pet friendly environment.
Joe — Google review
Little one but with charm. My kids love it. Could be the mix of cinema, toy shops and the giant tree slide through the floors 😀
Gero G — Google review
Sadly, but slowly and surely the mall degrades & turns into the ghost town. Small stores selection is poor and mostly copy stores in the other malls providing no reasons to go to the far end of the city. It feels like the mall survives only thanks to IKEA and that virtual reality center for the kids. Parking lot is unbelievably dirty and feels like never been cleaned since the mall opened. Ventilation does not cope with the diesel exhaust fumes and visiting the parking is harmful for those who care what air they breathe, not to mention the floors covered with unburnt diesel particulate soot. But the worst part is toilets, not only they are dirty and smell like hell, it seems that smell of ammonia enter the central ventilation system and is spreading in the shopping centers. This is no jokes hazardous for one’s health and until it is fixed, visitings to this mall literally shorten people’s lives. Stay away, be warned.

GODZILA at Grand Mall is an expansive eatery offering a wide array of choices. The sushi is outstanding and the waitstaff are prompt and attentive. In addition to the diverse menu, there are options available for children and those following a vegan diet. An assortment of delectable desserts, including cake, is also offered. It's worth noting that there are several pizza selections as well, although personal experience with them has yet to be had.
Great food and Service with a Kids room with kids TV.

Very disappointed in quality of the meals.... we ordered pork with potatoes. The meat was warm, but it looked Ike it had been fried the day before. The potatoes were awful and fridge cold, tasted like they had been frozen before..... The shopska salad should have been 500 gr a portion, which surely was not more than 300 gr....... never back to this place! We'd better had something to eat in self-service cafe, instead of spending money on this disgusting things....
EduGoLux S — Google review
The child menu is only with juice. We wanted to change with it water(or ayran), but it was refused. Ordered chicken skewers, the child did not eat it and we take it home. I tried them - very salty and old! Hope the owner is reading this! Not sure we will go again!
Georgi A — Google review
A great spacious restaurant with an abundance of options, the sushi was superb and the waiters were quick and responsive! There were also options for kids, vegan options, as well as quite a few desserts, including cake. I also noticed that therer were many pizza options, but I haven't tried them yet. Overall would recommend for sure!
Valentin D — Google review
We ordered chicken soup and fried squash, both of which were very creasy. Next, we ordered a grilled squid and after 20 minutes of waiting, it turned out that there is a problem with the grill and we cannot order anything which is from the grill menu. Hence, the waiter suggested ordering sushi. Eventually, after waiting another 20 minutes for the sushi, it wasn't good either. In conclusion, the one star is given to this restaurant because the staff were very polite and we didn't pay for the sushi, otherwise, 1 star is too much for this place.

Fast food restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
KFC Mall Varna is a popular restaurant chain offering a variety of fried chicken meals and combo options. It's a great spot for a casual and quick bite, with efficient service even during busy times. The spacious seating can accommodate many diners, and the menu features delicious burgers and an assortment of tasty chicken dishes. Prices are reasonable, with the option to choose from sharing box menus.
Pretty neat place for a quick and unpretentious bite in The service was great, the workers were pretty quick despite it being full of clients. There's space for quite a few people. The fiid was good, there are plenty of burgers and different types of chicken that taste great.. The price can vary depending on what you want, but it's definitely not expensive by any means. There are box menus which you can easily share with someone.
Valentin D — Google review
The food is good and the service is good enough, but the price has really been jacked up in recent times, unreasonably so. Pricing now is atrocious to the point that I've stopped ordering all together. It's highway robbery to price 2 buckets of chicken and 2 box masters at nearly 100 BGN. I can secure a solid meal at a nice restaurant for 2 instead of spending it on a overpriced fried chicken. It seems their killer success has really gotten to their heads, which is quite disappointing given how when they swopped in and set up shop, KFC was the only decent option among the fast-food options.
Kron K — Google review
DO NOT EAT HERE! We were on vacation and went to the Mall to grab a snack. Back at the hotel we started vomiting all night and had the worst diarrhea, as well as stomach cramps. Our holiday was ruined. Couldn’t get up for two whole days. Couldn’t eat or drink properly. We were not surprised to read other reviews claiming to pull worms out of their meat. Never again.

Probably the worst KFC ever, cold, chicken was old... Only fries was ok...
Dimi ( — Google review
The food is truly disgusting. Its like a thick layer of bread crumbs, that taste horrible. This is not a KFC like any other. Do not spend ur money there !
Bozhidar S — Google review
Apart from the fact that it's crowded and the tables weren't cleaned , the worst situation was seeing red cockroaches runing around on the floor. The chicken was overcooked . The menu differs from other countries, chicken fillet bites are not available here, neither is the hot booster burger. Yet again , I wouldn't go back to this KFC even if they would give out chicken for free , considering that cockroaches are friends with their kitchen .

A lovely place with great atmosphere and stylishly decorated. Food was a delice to all senses - well cooked and beautifully served. Service was of good level, only coffee came a bit late but that was the only reproof. Definitely recommend visiting.

Amazing restaurant! Food is delicious, the desserts are very good. Large variety for wine and cocktails. Staff is friendly, polite and very professional. I would recommend this place for a cozy dinner with your partner or family. Only drawback are the shishas which can be annoying if you don’t like the smell.

We came here for lunch and were very pleased. The staff greeted us with a smile, and the service was top-notch — fast, polite, and attentive to details. We each ordered a glass of Bulgarian wine — it was delicious, and the wine list itself was impressive in its variety. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed, and the interior was absolutely beautiful — stylish and cozy at the same time. A great spot for wine lovers and fans of good food.

Mixed feelings. In overall no point to overate this place. Idea is good, but service can be better. Wine house but waiters aren’t familiar with the wine/areas/wine types etc. it would be really nice to get some insight from the staff or even brief chat about the selection not just to be guided by the price. “What do you expect from 50 lev wine” I don’t think that I would go back there.

Atmosphere is good. Service is excellent. Food not so much. Or at least mine wasn't good. The cocktail wasn't my taste either, didn't drink it. Tried the wine, was okay. They had a lot of choices. Time for wine is definitely the correct name for it.

Dolphinarium Varna, located in the Sea Garden of Varna, Bulgaria, is a unique and futuristic attraction offering spectacular dolphin shows and opportunities for up-close interaction with these magnificent creatures. The facility features state-of-the-art amenities and knowledgeable staff providing educational experiences about dolphins and their natural habitats. Visitors can enjoy entertaining shows held in multiple languages and witness well-trained dolphins and seals performing delightful tricks.
The Dolphinarium is a great attraction in Varna for people of all ages. Doors open about 15 Min before the show. You can get in early with VIP tickets/preferred seating but I regular tickets are just fine to enjoy the show. The show lasts about 30 min that is both Bulgarian and English. It is highly entertaining and worth every penny or rather Lev :).
Evan H — Google review
As good as the show was i would never go back as the dolphins are in a small tank and never seem to have a break if the shows not on you can see them from the cafe swimming with tourists in their small tank. The tank is far too small for one dolphins let alone 5 I really hope they have somewhere else to swim and not just what we saw. Coming down the stairs we saw a tiny tank that had some seal hope that is not there home too that it was just being cleaned or something.
Chloe M — Google review
Short show duration for the price with bad sound quality to listen speak from moderator. The dolphins have small water area I think. For the price the place not too much clean. Toilets are small and dirty. For the price pro. Kid's enjoy program, but I think that for the price is service not to adequate.
Branislav M — Google review
A great place to visit, especially for families. Absolutely worth the extra money for the VIP area as the seats are much more comfortable and well spaced, this also gives you the best views. The show is presented in Bulgarian and English, approx 45-60 mins. After the show check out the cafe with a view into the dolphin tank.
Catherine V — Google review
A great experience for children and adults. The dolphins are playful and perfectly trained- you get the feeling from the whole performance that they are enjoying the show too. A wonderful performance , definitely worth a visit, thank you!
Jane W — Google review
The whole family enjoyed it. I really recommend it. The attraction is interactive – they try to involve the audience. Wow, congratulations! Now you only need to hire a manager for the “café” and fix the reputation of this place too.

Was suddenly in tears after the first few minutes, so was my wife. Don't know why, but the dolphins (which are truly extraordinary) made me very emotional, and I'm usually the most careless dude ever. The show takes about 35-40 minutes. It's amazing since it is also very interractive with the public. Price was 30bgn/adult, kids under 2 free We went for the show at 15:30. There's no parking there. You can arrive by car/cab, but you can't leave your car parked there (although there would be a few spots available in front of the dolphinarium). Please park in the Municipality Parking (13 mins away walk, 2 mins away by car).
Razvan D — Google review
Too expensive for such a short show. And the organization for buying tickets and seating on the benches is not good. There is not even a seat number and you have to compete for a better position in the row. And the base is very old, I was there as a child and nothing has changed. The attendance is high, and the price is high, they should offer much more. (It is according to my experience in other countries).

Amazing spot next to the beach. Multiple different venues, attractions for children, skateboarding ramp, wake board and kayaking. Different restaurants/ food court. There is an easy access with regular tourist train, or by car with large parking(like really large). The sea water is also really clean even though it’s not far from the central beach.

Really nice place to try wake boarding. You can choose to either go for the lesson or just rent the equipment and go for it. I chose to do the lesson first, which was a great instruction. They also tie you up with a mic-helmet after so you receive additional instructions. Really enjoyed it and after 10 mins was able to ride the wave! Very nice people, relaxed atmosphere. ☀️🌱

As a beginner, I opted for the 70-leva package, which included lessons from an instructor. The instructor spoke English very well and was very polite. Unfortunately, I don't recall his name. After the instructional process, I entered the water, and he gave me a helmet with a communication device. He instructed me from the shore about my position on the board and in the water. I would totally recommend it for beginners.

My girlfriend and I went here yesterday and the staff at the boys at the wake boarding were really cool, but the woman and the guy at the store were horrible! We used 95 leva and i wanted a corona bear, but they did not have it so I bought it next “door” and sat down, then the man came and yelled at me because i did not buy beer from them.. Then I go to them again and try to buy two Stella and again they say they dont have it so I go and buy again from next door, and again they go crazy 😅 I tried to tell them that I have spent almost 100 leva at their store, but she did not listen and walked away as I was speaking.. We stod up and wanted to leave so I tought I can go and buy smokes from them as a “peace offering” and the lady says “We dont sell smokes, you can buy it from next door” 😂😂 Horrible service from the two, but again good service from the boys at the wake shop 🙌

Originally built for Soviet soldiers, it offers a panoramic view of the city and the sea. The monument was designed as a tribute to the Soviet Army and its support during the 1828-29 Russo-Turkish War.
Really an incredible monument. It is currently in a state of disrepair. The steps leading up to it are cracking and falling apart. They should be no problem to navigate if you have eyes. The size of this monument is quite astounding. I know the reasons why it is not in good condition but I wish it would be repaired and turned into some sort of museum piece. The sights from the top are great and the vibe is like none other.

a landmark for brutalist architecture, but unfortunately it is in a very bad state, full of graffiti and quite dirty. the municipality should clean it up, repair what can be repaired and then install CCTV cameras to prevent further vandalism. it also offers great views to the city and the sea.
Bogdan V — Google review
Abandoned, maybe a good place for run (up the stairs) and not a bad view. One of the biggest Bulgarian post-Soviet monuments
Tomáš B — Google review
It is a Soviet era relic, a piece of history. I wonder if it is the highest point of Varna. It is rundown, but still solid and safe. Some people use it for hill running.
Hong Z — Google review
It’s has a very nice view and a little part around it. The monument itself has no maintenance for many years. Not too safe, I think no one has been taking care of the monument and the surrounding for a very long time. Despite all these it’s a popular place essentially for people doing some training sessions and of course the view.
Hristina H — Google review
Interesting and impressive. The area is not well maintained. Nice if you have some excess time in Varna.
Ido G — Google review
The place got great potential and could be a great park/chill/exersice spot. Unfortunately, the municipatily had left it to slowly decay and fall apart due to corruption and political reasons. The stairs are in poor shape, almost unsafe, vandalised with spray paint, rubish everywhere, and general vandalism. Great view, but shame indeed
Lubsana86 — Google review
Awesome brutalist monument, that is now in a state of disrepair. What could have been stolen was stolen. Stairs going up are falling apart. I still think it's not too be missed while in Varna, it still impresses and the views from up there are beautiful.

The Festival and Congress Centre in Varna is a significant cultural institution located near the entrance of the Varna Sea Garden. It hosts various film, music, and theatre festivals as well as important events like graduation ceremonies. One notable event held there is the Love is Folly festival. The center offers excellent facilities for seminars and other gatherings, with efficient staff providing great service. Additionally, it features two large halls with over 300 seats for performances and events.
Fantastic, wonderful, this festival and congress center near the sea garden of the city of Varna is very visited for various theater productions and concerts. Nearby there is a bookshop rich in books, as well as a cafe.
Stefan S — Google review
Although the balcony offers a nice view the overall verdict is: the place offers limited space with very outdated interior and people were struggling getting in and out. If there was any ventilation — it definitely wasn’t good. Very frustrating considering that it was a graduation ceremony and people wanted to see their children and some couldn’t.

I have used this place before, was in search of a venue for a seminar later this year. I knew I would find what was required here, and so it turned out. Staff were brilliant and with my colleague we were sorted and booked in withing 30 minutes. Great service 👏 👍 👌. The level of service and cooperation from the staff was much appreciated by all who attended the seminar, the facilities too are fantastic.

Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral is a stunning Orthodox cathedral in Varna, Bulgaria. With its gilded domes, ornate stained-glass windows, and numerous frescoes, it stands as one of the city's symbols. Built over 130 years ago with donations from the local community and government-issued lottery funds, it was inspired by St Petersburg's Peterhof Palace church.
While visiting Varna with my children on vacation, we took time to see the Cathedral . It’s a peaceful and nice place. We lit a candle in memory of our grandmother who passed away last year. The atmosphere was serene and filled with love. A perfect spot to reflect, pray, and teach children about family and remembrance. Varna itself is absolutely gorgeous — a blend of nature, culture, and heart.

A must visit attraction in Varna city even if you are not religious. A beautiful cathedral with artwork and history worth admiring.

I was traveling around the city, when stumbled upon this beautiful monument. Snuck inside, there was some bollards on the entrance. Would not recommend to enter a church with shorts!

Lovely building and great to see on my visit Be careful with the taxis outside as some drivers try to swap Lev for Belarus Rubles (not advisable to do)

A masterpiece of sacred architecture. The sheer scale, the elegance of the details, and the overwhelming sense of peace inside made this visit unforgettable. I felt both humbled and inspired.

This beautiful church has been wonderfully restored recently. Both the exterior and the interior are remarkable. A ‘must see’ place to visit when in Varna! Highly recommended!

A perfect example of the local religious place where you definitely stop breathing while looking upward. Such a charming interior full of paintings, frescas and motives. Even as an atheist you can feel the deep atmosphere inside. Our little children stopped for a moment staring at the beauty. The option of purchasing a candle at the entrance door which lures for setting it on fire on behalf of your (deep/secret) wish. The entrance is free of charge, so don't hesitate to step in.

Bar
Bar de Rouge offers a pleasant outdoor seating area, making it ideal for enjoying the atmosphere. While the service may be a bit slow, the location more than makes up for it. The bar provides a great variety of drinks and shisha, with reasonable prices considering its prime location. The spacious bar with a garden and world-class alcohol selection is located at the entrance of the sea garden, offering easy access to the beach.
Nice place to relieve the stress. Open space and shades with forced ventilation for the hot summer days and nights. Best view for the summer stroll place of Varna Day and night.

We were finally able to place an order after waiting 25 minutes for service. Unfortunately, after waiting an additional 30 minutes and inquiring about when we might receive our two coffees, the waitress responded that she couldn’t promise anything. At that point, we decided to leave.
Stefan H — Google review
People are smoking inside. So your clothes smell like cigarettes afterwards. Cocktails are nice. They have shisha tobacco.
Ivaylo L — Google review
This place just shows what the difference in good service and naff service does. 2 stars are only as the expresso and coffee were fine and the view was nice. Service is none existent with blank looks and a true struggle to get a bill. No food to speak of and the outside area must have been used during the 2nd World War as a test gas chamber the smoking was truly sooo bad. Even after we got the bill noone came to get our money so we just left it there and bogged off. Honestly to say it was useless gives it more credit than it needs.

The classic renaissance-style building has over 100 years of history and is within walking distance of central landmarks. Guests can enjoy scenic city views from the studios or double rooms. Situated in the Varna City-Centre district, it's close to cultural attractions like the Museum of Natural History.
The cleanliness, size, central location, and breakfast were all excellent. However, the lack of parking was a downside; we had to park 1.5 km away and walk. Still, I believe we got good value for the price we paid, and overall, we were satisfied. Thank you.

Nice location, nice view from the room. But when it was rain outside - it also was in my room because of the window in the roof and it was about to destroy my ebook with water (luckily it had a case) and as a surprise on the last night - a cockroach (reach me out if you need a video)

A very warm welcome from Zlatina. What a helpful young lady. She helped sort out our parking situation straight away. There are three spots, but for some reason we couldn’t use them. Hotel is situated right opposite the cathedral. It is however a busy main road, tends to be loud. Didn’t bother us though. Missed a coffee machine too.

Nice view from the window, very good location. But we realized that not reasonable price for out of season period, interior is vintage, which is nice, but the bed and mattress are very low. Absolutely great experience! Food is quickly, beautifully composed and very delicious. For that price, superb price/receive ratio. But don‘t expect a proper italian cappuchino. In any way only positive things. Thanks!
Georg H — Google review
Let me begin by saying that this is an AMAZING restaurant. Food is top notch. This is probably one of the tastiest restaurants I've visited in my entire life across the globe. General flavor of the foods is refreshing, unique, and eye opening. The service is good. There were times when I had to wait quite a long time to get the service started as I walked in and took a seat, but overall, the staff shares a very positive attitude and servitude. The price is very reasonable for such a quality restaurant. One negative aspect that I'd write down is that parking is rather painful. Then again, that's not the fault of the restaurant, rather the city of Varna. ;)

Fantastic food, fantastic service. English speaking staff. Really understanding and accomodating to allergies, which is hard to find elsewhere in Varna. Would highly recommend!

Food menu is attractive, but slightly disappointing in taste. The sauces were lacking a bit of flavour and the sides were cold compared to the meat. Portions are also a bit small compared to the price. Decor however is very nice and staff very professional and kind.

This is one of the best restaurants in Varna. Such a wonderful atmosphere and interior design, but the best thing about my personal experience is the service and the cuisine food. well presented and great taste. it's nice that this is a non smoking place, but the owners have created beautiful, small, open garden in the middle of the restaurant, so people could have a quick smoke without going outside. This place was the best Italian restaurant I ate at in Varna. I live in Las Vegas and we have a ton of good food, and this place was top tier. The food is not only high quality, but very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend anyone in the area to try it. We had the bread and spread, fried zucchini (which was lightly breaded like I like), chicken liver (which was amazing and I normally don't eat it), truffle pizza, and some cake.
Kristian K — Google review
This was the best cabonara ever! We asked for additional fresh truffle. It was amazing! Thank you. I really recommend this place. There's also a smoke area inside the restaurant with good air conditioning.

Decent place if you need a fast meal, but I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking to sit comfortably for a few hours. The tables are too high, and there was an infestation of ants at our table. The pizzas are fine, but too greasy and the dough was too thin. That does not speak of a qualitative restaurant, although the staff was quick.

Nestled within the serene landscapes of northeastern Bulgaria, Aladzha Monastery is a captivating medieval Orthodox Christian cave monastery that offers a glimpse into the past. Perched on a 25-meter high cliff in a protected forest area adjacent to Golden Sands Nature Park, this historical site once served as a sanctuary for hermit monks during medieval times. The name "Aladzha," derived from Turkish meaning "colorful," reflects the vibrant hues of its ancient wall paintings.
5 stars out of five for me. This monastery is definitely worth a visit. Breathtakingly beautiful. By visiting, you will be able to understand the life of these hermit monks. There is also a little museum (student discount available) and there are some catacombs nearby. If you go, I would suggest taking the forest path (check it out on maps). It's a 50 minute hike, but it will allow you to walk immersed in a wonderful angle of nature.

Its a huge area full off trees and flowers. I think the best time to visit it is June. I was tgere begining of August and as summwr was very hot and dry untill that time, all looked prety poor, flowers didnt bloom much, I didnt see many butterflies or bees. Id say the place needs better maintenance too. As it was so hot and dry, plants needed moe watering. It looked like it didnt get enough. Also all could be done nice, more inviting, that is missing there. Seems thay get parties inside the garden as I saw confetti laying around. It should be forbiden im my opinion as its trash which is not cleaned there (as in many places in Bulgaria). The entrance road is so bad, that I missed it first time, couldnt believe it was there 😳 Lack of advertisings, not easy to find a place if you dont know it, even if its just by the road 😳 Anyway, I will go back there next June and hope to be more satisfied of it 🤞🤞 PS: tickets for the enteance and parking are bought togerher.

We wanted to go go-karting this morning at 11:00. The employee or operator was very arrogant and not customer-oriented. She reluctantly got up from the till when a problem was pointed out to her, didn't acknowledge the technical problem with the operator's system and reacted in a completely unprofessional manner, saying that it wasn't her problem. I would not recommend going there to go karting.

Park
The Central entrance Sea Garden is a lush coastal paradise that offers stunning views of the Black Sea. It's a national monument with beautiful landscaping and is home to attractions like the Varna Aquarium and Dolphinarium. The area around it features numerous coffee shops, bars, and restaurants, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the city. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, picnics, and even witness the "Golden days" festival of dance and songs in the vicinity.
Beautiful garden and a fantastic kids play area - so colourful and fun. The sea garden itself is very spacious, clean and pleasant to walk around, loads to do for all ages.

Beautiful Sea Garden... great place to enjoy the outdoor weather and down plenty of restaurants to dine too. A few monuments and a Roase garden, Zoo a tourist train for visitors convince special for elderly citizens. If in Varna city you should definitely pay a visit and at the end of the garden there's a Dolphinarium too.

Amazing park, the central entrance sea garden is not only the entrance of the sea garden, but also the entrance to the main street with lots of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. There's a bookshop upstairs above the interesting building (festival and congress building). Around the square, the international festival of dance and songs "Golden days" is right there.

Great views, very nice environment, lots of old trees. Like a heaven on earth. Birds, seagulls, and the Black Sea. One of the most beautiful places in the country. Very surprising to see that there wasn't much people hanging around there.

Lovely area to hang out, plenty of seating, lots of shops in the area, was a hot day so after a long walk it was nice to buy a Gelato ice cream.

My favourite town centre, this is where you start walking for morska gradina (sea garden) you can get down to the sea alley where you find the beach and lots of bars and restaurants. Beauty city centre, beautiful beaches ⛱️ lots to see and explore. I love hanging around here. During nigth it's amazing I recommend 👌 👏 👍

Ranchero Steakhouse by Bodega is a Brazilian-inspired all-you-can-eat venue offering a churrascaria experience, where freshly grilled meats are continuously sliced onto your plate until you've had your fill. The fixed-price menu includes a variety of meats, salads, side dishes, and sauces for a set fee. Guests can enjoy the Spanish atmosphere and excellent service while indulging in pork and chicken steaks at an affordable price.
Excellent service and spanish sort of food and atmosphere. Not xpensive. Excellent fixed price menu, including pork and chicken steaks. Delicios.

Steak has been scrapped off the lunch menu, so it's almost pointless to eat only soups and rice and potato without meat. But the crabs were nice

Best margaritas in downtown Varna. Friendly staff. Summer buffet is better than the winter one.
Mariya D — Google review
The service is very good and polite. Very good English and one of the service members also speaks Greek! The prices for steak go per 100g and are a bit confusing. The buffet is great. Atmosphere is great! The food is very good compared to most restaurants in Varna. Only 4 stars cause you can't pay with Visa but the staff found a solution and let me pay partially with Visa
Jianni K — Google review
We had lunch (All you can eat buffet) and the food was decent, however on the buffet table, there are salads and some cooked dishes, but no meat or dishes with meat. There is a waiter eventually coming to serve you meat (1 piece only, he comes once in 20 minutes with a single plate following the same route) and by that time you are almost ready with your meal. Also, there is no dessert included in the all-you-can-eat menu. Not too bad experience.
Boyana G — Google review
We spent one week in Varna, we left this restaurant for the last day as it looked very good and decided that was going to be our last proper meal for the holiday. Soon as we sat down, the waitress rushed the drinks and then left for a good 20 minutes. We decided to go for the all-you-can-eat as we expected it to be good. Went to the buffet and for our surprise we found a rice that looked like an attempt of paella (which is very confusing because it should be a side dish, but had fish), very overpowering roast potatoes with rosemary and all kind of small dishes that were not even labelled so we didn’t know what was it. We waited around 20 minutes before the waiter came and asked us what meat we wanted first, which was chicken and then pork. That was it. The chicken was not properly cooked as it was still pink inside, and the pork was really really dry. Also, if you seat at the terrace, expect to be harassed by a lot of flies and wasps. Very disappointed with the whole experience.
Lewis B — Google review
We had lunch (All you can eat from 11.30 to 3pm.) and it was delicious...BUT... on the buffet table, there are only salads and other stuff, but NO MEAT. In end effect, you fill your plate will all kind of salads and until a waiter comes to serve you meat (1 peace, he comes a couple of times with different types of meat on a plate), you are not hungry anymore because you ate too much salad...Unfortunately, I think this is done on purpose. In other countries, the meat is on the buffet as well. Furthermore, there is no dessert included in the all-you-can-eat menu.
Just I — Google review
The pricing with the 100g listed in the menu for the meat was very confusing and was more like a rip-off. As of course no steak equals 100g, so you were sure to pay more than that. The all you can eat buffet was not pleasant, it tasted very old as if those side dishes have been there for quite a while. But the most upsetting part was the crispy chicken burger. First of all the bread was as hard as a rock, you could have easily smashed a window with it, the chicken meat was not well cooked, actually parts of it were still raw. In addition the french fries that came with it were cold. In conclusion: Definitely NOT recommendable, it is a shame as the waiter was very polite, welcoming and friendly. So the one star in my one star review goes to the waiter.

The Bay is an amazing seaside restaurant with a spectacular view. The food is fresh and tasty, and the staff are always so polite and friendly. It's a must-go place if you're in Varna, and the prices are definitely justified.
Absolutely amazing! The food was super tasty and also arrived quite quickly. The staff were nice and polite and well mannered. The atmosphere is relaxed and the sea is right next to you. Definitely recommend, it’s a must! 🤩

Easy 5! Just on the beach, The Bay provides seating on the tables directly on the sand, on the terrace or on the porch. Food is delicious. Everything we had was great. The best of all was the service. Our waitress was kind and smiling and she made us enjoy our meal even more. It’s a bit pricier but totally worth it.

Best pork meat I ever ate. Highly recommend for a special dinner.
Radu A — Google review
Food was great, I personally had the falafels and fries - both very yummy. The staff was super helpful, we were there for a bachelorette party and they helped us with getting our cake in and bringing it to the table when we needed it. The only minus point I would note is there was construction ongoing on the beach that kinda affected the atmosphere but I realise this might not be under their control in any way.

Nice restaurant Located right on the beach Choice of grilled and fish dishes Reservation is recommended
Alexis P — Google review
My low note is only because of service experience. Food and view are great. We had dinner there, found a hair in our food. The waiter apologized and offered 10% discount on our bill but not only he never applied it at the end but he also rounded up the tip I said he could put. In the and we were off 25% more then we should have. Very sneaky and dishonest. Unfortunately an experience like this can ruin the food quality and the view. The bill is also printed in Bulgarian with chirilic alphabet which made it impossible to spot the issue in the restaurant. I translated it later.

Very very good restaurant. Located on two levels, the view it's amazing looking towards secluded Bay and sea. During the day you can stay on the beach ⛱️ and relax, the restaurant offers amazing service and meals with grill and cooking in front of the guest. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful views. I recommend 👌 👏 👍

Seafood restaurant
Captain Cook Varna is an exceptionally chic establishment, boasting an exquisite interior and a wonderfully inviting ambiance. Nestled on a panoramic floor within the renowned Port Station trade center, this restaurant offers patrons the opportunity to relish stunning bay views from its lovely summer terrace. The appetizers are delectable and flavorsome, particularly the fried eggplant with Bulgaria cheese. Furthermore, their sushi selection impresses with its freshness and quality.
This place was recommended to our group by a tour guide from our travel agency offering a trip to Varna dolphinarium. It's a lovely restaurant with a direct viewing at the sea coast, which brings a calm time full of sea sounds, blue sky and pirate boats. Children can sit right next to the windows (actually without glass, so that you can enjoy some breeze). As for their menu: fantastic home made dish, well balanced meal containing also some vegetables. We all were super pleased after all those French fries and local fast food. 🍟
Mgr. F — Google review
What’s wrong with this place? You just can’t breathe there at all - people smoke everywhere, even in front of their children. Despite the sign at the entrance stating that smoking is forbidden, no one seems to follow the rule. I wasn’t lucky with the food either. Never, ever order the tom yum - it’s just water with three shrimp for 20+ leva. As for the sushi, sorry, but even the ones at Happy Bar & Grill are much better (sadly, I didn’t take any photos). I booked a table online, and a 20% discount was included, but when I received the bill, it wasn’t applied. The only thing I really liked was the view and the restaurant’s entrance - the fishes on the ceiling were a nice touch. That’s it. I had high expectations for this place, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment and a waste of money.
Kristina — Google review
We felt a bit unlucky with the choice of our main dish. It was very fried and almost only bones. The rest was really great. But it felt like the fish we got recommended was not the best
M J — Google review
The place is very welcoming and has a good interior. It is good for formal lunches or dinner, but I recommend you book upfront if you have a big party. The food is tasty and well presented, still some dishes lack the "wow" effect and with little, they can be much improved. I don't recommend bringing toddlers or children who move much, because there is no playground. I was not impressed by the staff. Although polite, they did not make an effort and looked rather bored.
Hristina T — Google review
First we had a impressive waiter, that made a professionell impression. Unfortunately they changed the responsibility and we had a new one. He was not that kind as the other one. The food was good, no question. But we had lobster served in a better way before in another restaurant. I'm not talking about the quality, but the way he served us. The Peking duck was very good. It is good there, I recommend this Restaurant. But there are better ones that tread/serve you in a different way. Maybe it was the waiter, that seemed like he didn't liked us. The atmosphere was fantastic! Beautiful view of the port varna and life music through a pianist was also there.
Lilly C — Google review
Everything about this place is remarkable, starting from the entrance where you’re welcomed by a beautiful display of fresh seafood delicacies. The staff greet you with a smile and make you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you arrive. The dishes we tried were absolutely wonderful. The Greek salad was presented in a very modern and stylish way — and tasted just as amazing as it looked! I highly recommend ordering it, and honestly, it’s so pretty you might want to snap a photo before digging in 🤣. The mussels and calamari were fantastic — fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the portions of the starters were so generous that we didn’t manage to try any of the main courses, but judging by everything else we had, I’m sure they’re equally incredible. A truly lovely dining experience — we’ll definitely be coming back!

6 years ago I went to celebrate an occasion with my family of 6. I have a small child. The „ladies“ behind our table (clearly known to the staff and I can only assume may also be „serving“ the higher „echelons“ of Varna) smoked cigarettes like their lives depend on it. Inside the restaurant. I raised it then immediately, but was told by the „manager“ that there is an open door to the balcony so that is enough. We left after salads ….we didn’t want to stay a moment longer. I thought after all this time things have changed. Turns out not an iota Shocking, truly shocking. Problem is, people in Bulgaria smoke, behause as it seems the news about cancer has not reached their unsharpened brains yet. AND the restaurant serves to the masses. Who cares about me and my little child ?! , wanting to eat decent (highly priced) food without fumes of cigarettes? Clearly Capitan Cook does not, referencing the other comments raising the very same issue. Sad to say, but in Bulgaria you can s@@t on table, but as long as you leave good tip, the owners will applause and welcome you back. Your cigarettes smell of s@@t and frankly while I eat I cannot and will not tolerate it.
Srebrina W — Google review
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and I am pregnant. The staff were very friendly and the food was decent. However, they allow customers to smoke indoors, and almost everyone was smoking. The whole place was filled with smoke, making it hard to breathe. We had to finish our food quickly and leave in a hurry. Not sure if we will come back again. The smoke smell was really overwhelming!

Mediterranean restaurant
BM Olea is a delightful gem tucked away on Akchela Street in Varna, offering a serene escape from the bustling city center. This charming restaurant specializes in Mediterranean cuisine and features delectable beef specialties, all served in an inviting atmosphere adorned with vibrant colors and artistic furnishings. If you’re lucky enough to snag a table in the Lavender Room on the second floor, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the sea that enhance your dining experience.
My first visit at this restaurant. I have visited other BM restaurants. This one is situated in an old house with beautiful vintage style and design. The service is nice and fast. Everything we ordered was tasty. It has a front and rear garden both being very beautiful. It has a nice view and it’s well decorated. It is moderately expensive. It’s good for parties, banquets and business events. I recommend

This was an out of this world experience! In a small Mediterranean villa with matching interior, lemon trees and a sea view with aged roof tiles and cypress, you get to taste a real added touch on classic dishes. The salads and vegetarian options are exquisite, but you are here for the beef steaks. This is where the fun begins. The waiter brings you to choose the actual steak that you will consume and you pick how well you want it grilled. The meat comes from their own farm and is cured in the right conditions, visible in the fridges on the lower floor. Personal opinion, eat while is warm. Desserts are good and get extra points for presentation.

Fantastic place! The food is amazing with lots of variety and unique taste. Portions are also big and at reasonable prices. It’s away from the crowds of the seaside venues so you can really relax and enjoy your dinner with a great view. For me this is the best restaurant in Varna and we will definitely be coming back! There is quite a big parking which is free to use for guests of the venue.

Fren's birthday. Very tasty food. Wine was mediocre but I think we just ordered a cheap one. Prices are a little bit high but the food quality and the atmosphere makes up for it big time.

We went to BM Olea for a daily dinner and really liked the restaurant; one of the best in Varna in my opinion. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, parking, nice view, the dishes were cooked good and staff was very nice. The only con I could say is the menu, menu was weak, they may add a few more main dishes; especially for people who don't eat pork and don't want to have a heavy dinner with steak, something lighter. We went in October, though it was all good, I believe it will be much better experience in summer as the restaurant has a very beautiful garden and seaview. For two people, we paid around 60 BGN (30 EUR), which is on par with other restaurants in the area.
Omer I — Google review
Well, it was the firs and the last time. With the arrival you find yourself at a horrible parking space, very steep and covered with gravel, all the cars parked terribly, no marking or anything to ease the exparience. We were about to leave bit we decided to give it a chance. Worst idea ever. They've seated us in a kind of a basement, very low, hot and stinky. At this point it was the second time we were aboit to give up bit decided it's too late to find another place, so we've stayed. From there on, the things got only worse. Terrible service- slow and confusing, 30 min wait for the wine, plates arriving in complete wrong order. Appetizers and main dishes before salads- absolutely shocking, felt like we are in a fast food place at the train station. The food itself: burned bread, salad with eggpalnt with almost no eggplant, spicy kalamari- not spicy at all, salty meat and a salad with prosciutto and strawberries which came last, after being mistaken with another salad. It came last with literally 2 slices of prosciutto and a single sliced strawberry, I don't have a photo because I was already too frustrated and angry. Disaster. The explanation was that the waiter is new and horrible but I don't think he also cooked in the kitchen. Never again.

Nice city park located on a sea side. There is an abandoned boat parked on a shore. In the park you can find an Ethnographic Museum, check a working time before, it can be closed. There are a lot of trees which are also houses for a bunch of squirrels. You can find workout ground which is actually little bit tired and more suitable for pensioners than for sports addicts.

Port Varna is the largest port in Bulgaria, located on the Black Sea coast and conveniently close to the city center. Visitors must present their Seamen's book to border security when leaving the port. Once outside, a stroll along the coast leads to the sea garden area with numerous restaurants. The transformed space now features an amusement park, modern restaurants, and nightclubs. However, prices are relatively high for Bulgarian standards and there is limited shade during daytime visits.
Great place, love that have a lot of good restaurants, some playground for kids and of course the views are amazing! Really convenient for parking and just to take a walk to the See Garden. Recommend that for everyone!

It's the largest port in Bulgaria situated in Black sea coast.. the port is very near to the city centre.. You will have to show your Seamen's book to the border security to go out of the port.. Once you are out of the port, turn right and walk along the coast , you will reach the sea garden area, there are plenty restaurants in this area.. Once you are out of this port, some agents will approach you as money changers.. even though they they offer high rates , better avoid them, they may give you fake notes..

The Naval Museum in Varna, Bulgaria offers a captivating journey through the maritime historical heritage of the region. Situated at the southern edge of the Sea Garden, this museum showcases heroic military moments and individual stories of Bulgarian sailors. Visitors can explore the history of the Bulgarian military and commercial fleet through ship models, uniforms, personal items, navigational tools, anchors, torpedoes, maritime flags and other naval artifacts. The museum also features a garden displaying military hardware.
Cheap tickets and great displays. Especially on the outside you can check interesting planes and boats. And on the inside the smell of old stuff can bring back nice old memories

Really good, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plenty of nautical artifacts from throughout history, loads of info about the maritime history of Bulgaria and Varna's place within it. Some really interesting things to see and all the exhibits are labelled and explained in Bulgarian and English. Good for a couple of hours
Joel D — Google review
Super cool museum for anyone interested in Bulgarian naval history or just naval matters in general. Neat little military park with various ordnance and pieces of weaponry as well as a few boats. Inside there a numerous exhibits covering all aspects of Bulgaria’s naval history from Roman era, to steam power, the great wars, and the modern day. Military personnel get in free and the park is easily accessible for children and English speakers. Easy way to spend an hour!

Interesting visit today to the museum of naval history in Varna. I liked the outdoor area which has some cool exhibits, Naval weaponry, boats and helicopters. The indoor part of the museum was clean and well kept and had some uniforms and other items from Bulgarias history. The Entrance ticket was around 8leva and I spent around an hour there. Also a large ship outside which is possible to tour for an extra fee but I chose not to.
Travel M — Google review
Very interesting collection of artifacts. You can pay a bit extra and go in the Druzki boat which took part in the Balkan war.
Kamelia D — Google review
Verdict: informative exhibitions, sensible route planning, but outdated museography and mediocre facility are hard to ignore. Recommended for an hour or two if you are interested in military history, naval history, or Varna and Bulgaria's coastal cities evolution. Details: one building and one garden for two sections of the museum. In the building there are 2 floors of indoor exhibitions, in the garden it's the outdoor exhibitions. Indoor focuses on Bulgarian naval history that span from Greco-Roman times to late 20th / early 21st century, with lots of historical items including photos, documents, uniforms, books, medals, naval instruments, ship models, and artifacts (e.g. swords of important personalities, lighthouse mirrors and lights from late 19th and early 20th century, flags and other insignia). About 80% of labels and board texts are also in English. The curation of items is fairly good, but the presentation -- high glare glass cases, arbitrary and inconsistent lighting, pale font that's hard to read already, then low contrast between font and background colors -- needs major improvement. Outdoor exhibitions have historical ships, helicopters, anchors, artillery, etc. laid out in the garden around the building, and you can go onboard and inside one of the ships (Druzki) there for an extra amount, 6 BGN if memory serves. The staff is professional and helpful for the most part. We spent almost 2 hours there looking at every exhibit item in the building and in the garden. The Druzki ship is rather small and desperately needs cleaning so we didn't go in. Protips: - You can pay for tickets by card. - The ticket office sells not only small souvenirs like postcards and fridge magnets, and also thematic catalogues of the museum's whole collections. If you are interested in specific niche topics in Bulgarian naval history, these catalogues would be a good starting point. - The exhibitions focus on the Bulgarian military navy, not the merchant navy, so if history of the Bulgarian merchant navy is your jam, this might not be the place. - The museum is right by the Sea Gardens, a major leisure spot for locals and tourists alike, so make sure to plan that into your itinerary to the museum.

Very nice indoor and outdoor display of Bulgarian military navy and aviation

The museum feels haphazardly put together. They damaged historical value with bad paint jobs. It's worth visiting if you keep your expectations moderate. The price is reasonable, but the saying "You get what you paid for" applies.

The Roman Thermae Varna is an archaeological site that showcases an ancient Roman thermal bathhouse constructed in the late 2nd century CE. Situated in the southeastern part of modern Varna, Bulgaria, these well-preserved ruins are part of the ancient city of Odessos and are among the most significant architectural monuments from Bulgaria's ancient period.
It's a great heritage from the former generation. Well preserved as a ruined condition. Entering inside is much moe better, but if not available outside the view, also quite nice!!
Brian J — Google review
It was my first time visiting a Roman bath, and I was amazed by its size and the impressive height of the ruins - estimated to be around 20 to 22 meters. There seemed to be no time limit for staying inside. # Reason for 4 Star: Only one staff member was present, who sold me the ticket and was polite but neutral. Modern stairs have been added to ease access and protect the site. However, most areas are open to the public with little restriction, making them vulnerable to damage or vandalism. I believe better supervision is needed. More informative signs, photos, and explanations would greatly enhance the experience. A monitor showing animated reconstructions and historical details could also be a great addition. The site looked especially beautiful at night.
Reza N — Google review
A good example how even the greatest empire are falling down, it’s sad to look at these monumental ruins having in mind that the facility was used within a very small period of time (less than 80 years). Despite of that, the spirit of the great empire comes alive when you are among these 2000 years old huge stones….the building is huge, 7000 sq meters and proves how great the Roman Empire was at these times….
Desislav T — Google review
If you've never had the chance to see Roman ruins, take this opportunity. We've been spoilt, but these rate well.
Jean K — Google review
Really impressive place, absolutely worth a visit. Entrance fee was 5 LEV, there are also public restrooms. You're left free to roam the ruins, parts of which are still uncovered or just partially excavated, which is really nice. If you venture outside of the well traveled areas watch out for poop in the grass 😉

Fascinating to walk through these roman baths. A major drawback is very little information for self-guided visits other than a few illustrations and maps.

Small sight seeing about ruins of an ancient roman thermal house. Nice but not more than that. It's just a small walk which you have to do when in Varna I guess.

Hotel Panorama

Hotel
Hotel Panorama offers comfortable and informal rooms and suites with views of the bay. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast with a variety of drink options, including pomegranate and orange detox. The hotel provides late check-in upon request, and the friendly staff speaks good English. The spacious rooms are clean and offer free toiletries, while some come with tempting items in the mini fridge for an additional cost.
Lovely hotel, almost literally on the beach! Staff are very helpful and speak perfect English. Breakfast was nice. Room was clean and a decent size. Highly recommended!
Carl S — Google review
We stayed in July 2025, during a road trip along the coast of Bulgaria and Romania. We paid €200 per night and it doesn’t even have its own pool. The rooms look like they’re straight out of the 1970s: they’re spacious, with a decent bed and a clean bathroom, but at that price you expect more. Breakfast was the worst part: very few edible options and a coffee that was basically undrinkable. On the positive side, the location is excellent (not the views): right in front of the beach and surrounded by well-set-up beach bars to hang out. Also, the reception staff were professional and very friendly. Even so, at that rate I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
Juan — Google review
I stayed here alone for a conference and I found it to be quite nice. The room was the cheapest single room, but it was still quite spacious and with a decently-sized bathroom. It was quite clear that someone was cleaning it daily and I did not feel anything was missing during my stay. I also loved the breakfast options, I think there is a lot to choose from, with both classic options (eggs in various forms, toast, ham etc) and some local/specific stuff. Reception staff was nice, too; they answered any question i had. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and/or come here again. Not to mention, you walk outside and straight on the beach within a minute!
Maria T — Google review
We stayed with my mother at the Panorama Hotel from 08.08.25 to 15.08.25. We really enjoyed the room and the service (cleanliness, polite and responsible staff who speak English and Russian at a decent level). Umbrellas, sunbeds, and beach towels were provided free of charge for hotel guests. In addition to breakfasts, we ordered lunch to the room. We also booked a transfer. I rate all the hotel services very highly. A few words about the location of Panorama Hotel: it is situated in the tourist and resort area of Varna. 5 minutes to the beach, 5 minutes to the port (boat trips), 5 minutes to the amusement park. There is a public transport stop, a promenade, and many seaside cafés right next to the hotel. Walking from the hotel towards the city center, you can find a working pharmacy. In the city center, we found one occasionally open currency exchange office. Fortunately, it is possible to pay by card at the hotel and in most boutiques. As already mentioned several times in other reviews, there is no kettle in the room. There are also no water coolers in the hotel. Since the hotel has a beach status, it would be nice to have a drying rack for swimsuits in the room. Drying clothes on the railings of French balconies overlooking the main street feels inappropriate, but hotel guests have no other option.

I just stopped by this hotel for breakfast and it was great experience. Everything you fancy for Bulgarian breakfast you can find in their buffet, plenty of choices and fruits! And the staff in the reception and restaurant are very welcoming . Thank you. Will visit again.

It's a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The valet who parks the cars is world class. Right there when you need him and his driving skills are tip-top. His name was Valeri, best man.

We loved Varna and The Panorama Hotel. Perfect for everything. 5 star at reception. 5 star Massage. 5 star location and room view, etc.. There is chees at lobby, what was a great fun too. But, 0 star for people who was dealing with food. It is not Vegan or Vegetarian friendly, at all. People who serves food should speak English very well to explaing the ingredients respecting people's diet and health is vital for a good food experience and for health & safety as well. The staff said to me go to the supermarket when I said that I was looking for a better vegetarian experience... Can you believe on that??? "Hotel Panorama goes green", as it is written on the breakfast wall. Not yet... Hope, so... I will be back, because even with these difficulties I loved Varna and Hotel Panorama experience.

Bulgarian restaurant
Nestled in a charming locale, Mehana Kashtata is a delightful traditional Bulgarian restaurant that welcomes both locals and visitors alike. With its inviting terrace and cozy interior adorned with authentic decor, it offers an atmosphere steeped in local culture. While the service may come off as a bit brusque at times, this quirky charm only adds to the overall experience. The menu features an array of delectable dishes that showcase the best of Bulgarian cuisine.
We were greeted by a rather surly lady, but this in some way added to the charm of the place. We were given a menu in English, the same prices as the local menu. We ordered two glasses of wine which were fine. My partner had a tuna salad, a hot cheese with honey and walnut topping and a garlic flat bread. I had the different works in a mushroom sauce. The food was probably the best we have had in Bulgaria and certainly the tastiest. All in all the meal came to £21 or 25 euros. The waitress even managed to raise a smile at the end of the evening. We recommend you give it a go. Great value for money and great food and service (ish).

Kaptazh Coffee is a delightful spot that perfectly blends comfort and stunning views of the sea. With cozy seating arrangements, it’s an ideal place to enjoy a delicious double espresso while soaking in the coastal ambiance. The restaurant stands out for its attentive table service, which adds a touch of luxury often missing from beach bars. The culinary offerings at Kaptazh are impressive, featuring generous portions at reasonable prices.
Warmly recommended. Open in October, card payment possible in October, English reasonably spoken. Very friendly and personal service. Very good and fresh seafood, well prepared and presented. Delicious Bulgarian wine to go with the seafood. Clean toilets. Special note and compliment for the espresso: a real good espresso is not that simple, and this was by far the best in around Varna that I had!

My daughter and I walked into this café by chance — and it turned out to be a nice surprise! The interior is lovely, and the view of the beach is just breathtaking. We took the staff’s recommendation and ordered fish, grilled vegetables, and a glass of wine. Everything was fresh and full of flavor — absolutely delicious. A great place to relax, enjoy the view, and have a really tasty meal. Highly recommended!

A seafood lover’s paradise! Every fish dish I’ve tried here has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. From grilled fillets to rich seafood pastas, the quality and taste are consistently outstanding.

JUL2025: one of the nicest beach restaurants in Varna; the choice of salads was superb and we loved the grilled fish we ordered (sea bream); really great service too, very attentive and most hard working - even if/when they are understaffed and extra busy. Well done to the crew!

Fresh Sea food at affordable price, cozy calm environment next to the beach. I recommend it.

The food was good but the service was rather disappointing. The tone and manner of the server was anything but professional. He also got annoyed that I didn’t know their lunch menu is available until 14:30, even though he gave me a menu with the lunch dishes….. Also, an entire page of their menu is dishes with mussels, they didn’t have any mussels at 16:00 PM. The restaurant is a bit pricey too.
