2023: A cornerstone of Varna coffee/cake-shop culture. Truly a gem. Most authentic and very popular with locals from this classy neighborhood. Excellent coffee and breakfast. Try coming at opening and to grab a table outside, in the shade of the magnificent trees that make Varna so special. I will come back

Went back another day, had chocolate hazelnut and orange cake.. but it was not the same as the take out counter’s. Although they claim it to be so.. it’s nice but it’s not what I wanted exactly.

It’s close range to the medical university. nice place to grab a hot/iced coffee with friends and easy to approach staff! They have both sweet cakes and savoury pancakes and also cold drinks for summer heat. They have updated their interior to a nice blue theme.
They seem to have an issue with stray cats. The woman came out of the shop and started bashing the poor souls. My daughter cried.

One popular alternative to traditional baklava is Kunefe, which offers a different flavor profile with its combination of melted cheese and pistachio topping. Unlike the overwhelmingly sweet nature of regular baklava, this variation has a lower sugar content, making it more balanced in taste.
All products look so delicious, especially the kashkaval börek.
Suggestion for the owner: play some Turkish ambient music.

It looks like baklava but it doesn't taste like baklava.
It is soft and it has no nuts.
There is a little pistachio powder sprinkled on top and a thin layer of pistachio powder folded in the philo with a sugary syrup that makes your stomach feel uncomfortable (no honey is used for sure).
I am in awe and surprised that this such low quality is offered in a city where 1 in 6 of all residents are of Turkish origin.
Baklava is good, but as we all know, super sweet.
Kunefe is 12 leva but if you want to compare the size of a baklava with it. It’s easily at least 8 pieces.
I understand that Kunefe at different places, can taste different. Here at this particular shop, it is sweet only at the base, and the melted cheese is a little savory and the pistachio at the top doesn’t taste sweet. Very robust. And also the much lower sugar content for this, makes it perfect.

JUL2024 - a super place for Turkish desserts etc. I visited this place looking for kunefe and was so not disappointed. Everything is homemade, actually made in front of you, and tastes fantastic. It’s definitely a more subtle and balanced result, avoiding the excess of all too sweet kunefes, and with strong nut/pistachio flavor. As the owner says : simply « bombastic ».

They also offer a delicious brunch menu, making it a great spot for any time of day. While the coffee may be average, the delectable eclairs and cookies make up for it. In addition to their great coffee, they also sell wine and tea.
Awesome staff and service! Polite, always smiling, and ready to help. Pastry-wise we loved it. Freshly-baked and prepped cakes. We got back a second time and tried the brunch. Loved it, too. Definitely visiting again next time we’re in Varna.

After reading many positive reviews, I decided to get breakfast from Pekarnica Pile every morning during my stay in Dubrovnik. Unfortunately, my first visit was very disappointing. The spinach roll was extremely oily, and the smell of the oil was off, making it hard to even finish. The portion was large, but the taste was lacking. The chocolate croissant was also underwhelming and didn’t taste good.
