My current local shopping mall. I mainly use the Carrefour here but its go mostly anything else you need in it's many other shops.
Easy to navigate and quite big with a bunch of parking spaces. I would recommend going here other than to Colombier.
Rennes Alma is a decent shopping center but smaller than I expected. It has a clean and modern layout with a fair selection of shops, though not as many as in larger malls. I notice many proper indoor cafés or quick snacks to sit down for some rest. The parking is free and it was easy accessible.
I went in France and I Saw Alma wow look at this Mall it's so good and there a kids shop I love it and when I recived a comment from Alma I was so happy and look Alma you are in rennes yeah I moved in my mum say we have to moved in UK and I was crying because I wanted to stay here in because I want to go Alma and can you gift me something? If you don't mind If you reply and said yes I will send you my address and I love the playground and I know French so you can say it in French Au revoir and I been visiting Alma for 8 Years

A nice enough shopping centre but charging to use a toilet and then being berated by the attendant for using the disabled one (because I am disabled and needed to empty my stoma bag) made for a very unpleasant experience for me. I don’t speak fluent french so could not defend myself to her. They need to train their toilet attendants to be more aware of disabilities.
0,50ct for visiting a toilette in a shopping center, and the vending machine not even work without help from staff. Welcome to France.
I have been visiting many shopping centers in many countries but this shopping give me first time experince to go to toilet by paying 0.50€. It's shameful, people go to spend money and toilet is a minimum service they should provide. Moreover the market is big and there is only toilet located in one corner of the market.
Really cool mall with an extremely nice interior design and a great collection of shops. There's a very nice resting area where you can relax and enjoy the free wifi before you continue shopping.

As for the toilet, it's clean, unlike many other public toilets in France. It's totally worth the 0,50 € you have to pay. Don't see a problem with that.
A comercial center is a place where you are supposed to go and do some shopping. The fact that you have to pay to use the bathroom is savage. The public bathroom in the comercial center, not some bathroom in a private shop in the comercial center. You always have a first time for everything…

La Criée Marché Central is a covered market offering a wide variety of products such as fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, fish, wine, and specialty foods. One unique tradition is La Criee Publique where messages written by visitors are publicly read aloud by comedians every Saturday. The market boasts astonishing quality local produce and provides a sensory journey with its various vendors including cheese shops, butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, bakeries, wine stalls and specialist grocers.
We found this by accident and were blown away by the choice of food, wine, beer and pastry/bread. There are a few places where you can eat like Les Halle's. We had rotisserie chicken and roast potatoes. The wine stalls are excellent and everything was reasonably priced. Visit here.

I found ‘Le Beurre de Boudair’, which is famous from St Malo and as well fish, meat, sausagees, rotisserie chicken , seafood , vegetabies, fruits , bread , cheese etc!

Local produce of astonishing quality. We buy almost all our food here, a couple of times a week, and every visit is a journey of the senses. I absolutely love the place. There are various cheese shops, butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, plus an excellent bakery, a wine stall and some specialist grocers. A perfect example of how good French food can be.
C'était splendide ! The quality, selection, and ambiance were exceptional. It was not crouded during the day and there were very few tourists (like us) so we had time to have number of pleasant interactions with the vendors.
We purchased some quiches, savory tarts, and fruit and had a lovely picnic in Parc du Thabor.
Very Nice meat fish and veg with plenty of choice of ready to reheat foods. However, on a budget? Don't bother....

Additionally, visitors can delve into the region's history through temporary exhibitions and collections at the Museum of Brittany.
We were very impressed with the Museum of Brittany. Displays were very creative and educational. Nice quiet library and friendly cafe staff. It's always good to see student groups taking advantage of local museums. The huge Legos platform was popular with all ages. And...it's free!!

I really enjoyed my visit to this amazing gallery . There are many great paintings to see here my favourites were by one Francesco Casanova . I also loved the copy of the Mona Lisa by Giovanni Rota alas I haven't seen the original as yet but I will one day . Jan I van Kessels Noahs Arc was cool too I thought .

It is one of those museums that has a lot of small collections of art in the galleries. Organised by art style and period. There is an archaeology gallery with items from Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Wondering through the galleries here and there, you see something that makes you stop to look better.

Yes! I've been waiting for some good Tex-Mex in Rennes for years! Thank you, Nachos, for some good burritos (they call them fajitas, but no matter) with good quality ingredients. All three meat options are well-seasoned and delicious. The "riz mexicain" is especially good. A great option for a fast, delicious meal.

Parc du Thabor, also known as the "Central Park rennais," is a must-visit in Rennes. Spanning over 10 hectares, this 18th-century park features French and English-style gardens, a botanical garden with over 3000 species, aviaries housing non-native bird species, a music kiosk, and a rose garden boasting more than 2,000 varieties of roses.
A simply lovely place to visit and walk about. A great variety of plants, trees and flowers. There's a children's play area and a super collection of birds, chickens and roosters. The birds kept us captive for a better part of a half hour and the chicken entertained us for another quarter hour .

Must visit in Rennes! Come with kids and your family and you'll find a charming French garden with pleasant greenery. In particular you need to visit the birds nest! Try to grab a stick under the surrounding trees and let parrots come up to you. Such a wonderful place to visit in summer time.
I would have liked to give 4 stars but I think it will make more impact on reducing to make sure this catch the attention.
I went to this park on the 29/08/2025 and first of all this is a very pretty and lit park. It’s free to enter and I also found some ducks and chickens I think :) (correct me if I am wrong) as I went to the park and explored then I needed to use the toilet so I didn’t check if there was any other as the Google maps led me to this specific toilet but I wasn’t the only one trying to use the facility.
But,I am very disappointed by the fact that the toilet facility is not looked after at all. It looks like it has been clean for weeks. I mean how can you take care of a place you opened for the general public and the tourist alike, then ignore the fact that if you are expecting them to see there and spend time they cannot have somewhere to go and satisfy their humans needs(🚽🧻🧼🧴🪣). At least do some effort.
Overall it’s a great park to visit but be mindful of this when planning to go there.

The prettiest park I’ve ever been to! I visited around 7-8 pm on a Thursday night (summer)and the weather was perfect for a walk. There was a modern art gallery plus a small bird sanctuary and the place is filled with beautiful flowers and greenery. I promise you will have a great time there. Bonne visite!

Situated on the site of the former Visitandines convent, this compact center offers a department store, boutiques, a bakery, and an optician. Visitors can explore a jewelry store with a wide selection of jewelry for men and women, as well as toy and game shops for both children and adults.
Rennes has a beautiful historic centre and a surprising amount of small independent shops. Make sure to find and visit the Cathedral which is a bit hidden away but is magnificent and more reminiscent of the Vatican.

Good modern art gallery in an interesting building. The Invisibles exhibition was very good with information booklets available in French and English. It was well worth the €3 entry fee. There is also a well-stocked cafe/bar on site as well as a bookshop. Easily accessible by public transport, buses 12, 14 and C4 stop nearby.
Contemporary art in a spacious museum. The exhibits were well shown. It's a smaller museum so you don't need more than an hour or so. There is a cafe at the lowest level.
Interesting exhibition Invisibles but for such a huge (and well designed) building we were quite surprised there was only one exhibition hall in use for public viewing. That seemed to be about 1/5th of the building. Free on Sundays though. From the Metro stop Pontchaillou it’s a 20 minute walk through one of the least sexy parts of any city in Europe.

I moved to the Rennes area earlier this year and was excited to try this restaurant due to its popularity. I finally managed to book a dinner reservation, and while the atmosphere was pleasant, the food did not meet my expectations.
The Piña Colada I ordered had an unusual texture, as the coconut milk appeared to have curdled. Among the tapas, the croquetas were decent, but the tender pollos lacked flavor and were quite dry. The salsa also did not resemble authentic versions I’ve experienced. For the main course, I ordered the quesadillas pollo, which arrived very oily and not as warm as expected.
Overall, the food felt average and did not deliver the authentic flavors I was hoping for. This was a disappointing experience, and I’m not sure I’d return.
Food here is not special nor recommendable. With good weather, go here to enjoy the romantic garden and just get some drinks with simple snacks. Dinner here was very dissapointing. The semosa were soft and fat, like they were warmed up in the microwave. The burger we ordered was burnt. Similar with grilled squid; almost not edible. Fries were soft and fat. Need we say more? The waitress however was super friendly and helpfull.
Super slow service. The outdoor bar terrace was not as nice as the restaurant area. Pretty inconvenient to order and pay and then sit down. Good cocktail and wine selection as it was nice to see Mexican wine in the menu and mezcal. Tapas were ok, nothing exciting.
12/08/2025. The service is precarious, slow, and although the menu is in Spanish, they don't understand very well the orders with the titles of the menu itself. 1 hour to order a beer and the waiter still doesn't like being called; but we know that the problem lies with the bar owner who saves on human capital. A real mess.
The food was good 8/10. the pork belly was my favorite. the service was really really wonderful, they have the best teams. and the place is cute especially if you come when it’s not raining, sit on the garden! it’s good ambiance.
A beautiful discovery during our one day visit to Rennes. The owner (?) was kind enough to let us participate at the Sunday brunch although we arrived shortly before closing time. The tapas on offer looked super fresh and tasted just the same and there was a vast selection of "standard" breakfast choices as well (like scrambled eggs, muesli or viennoiserie). We found a spot to sit on the shady and very inviting garden terrace and felt very welcome. Would return anytime!

I ordered a Veggie Breakfast, and it was much better than I thought it would be. I was really uncertain as to whether or not the vegetarian option would be good, and I was so pleasantly surprised. All of the burgers can be made veggie burgers as well- super awesome!
They have a ton of beers, although I ordered a cappuccino which was decent. I'd definitely recommend it. Worth visiting on Saturday if you enjoy live music!

This meal was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Brittany. The service was excellent and the food was stunning. We did have to book pretty far in advance, but I also believe there was a walk in on the day we went, so ymmv! More than worth the price, I would recommend to basically anybody.
A lovely restaurant run by a lovely couple, the food is so delicious, I found that French food like to fusion with Japanese cuisine, but most of them I don't like because they are more like just a gimmick. But this one, a clam soup with handmade udon for appetizer is perfect! The udon is not in a perfect shape, but with the blé noir in Bretagne, the taste of the noodle is indescribable! For the main dish, the pork is also very tasty, and of course, the chocolate mousse for dessert, even I'm not a chocolate person, but I love it! All and all, the very nice and welcoming service of the owners are the most exceptional point!

For any first timers, here's what you do...
1. Grab your starter from the self service area. Drinks and desserts are here too but you can always come back.
2. Head to the cashier. On the way, pick your main course from the laser display boards.
3. At the cashier, order your mains and pay for everything. They'll give you a ticket for your main... Keep hold of it!
4. Sit down, eat your starter, and when you're ready take your main meal ticket to the counter that is written on the bottom. Give the person at the counter your meal ticket and they will prep your main for you while you wait.
5. Take your main. Return to seat. Open mouth. Shovel it in.
Once you know the set up, a great place to eat. Good menu. Fresh cooked main course to order. Good prices. Recommended.

Loved the park! Great for nice sunny days to just relax in the shade. The playground was good for the little one to play a bit and for us to take a break. We tried the climbing net at spot where you can climb. It gave us some nice thrills. One day sorted when visiting Rennes. Well deserved a visit.

Offers pitches at the start of the campsite at 11euro without power etc and will definitely will make use of for a one night stop over if traveling south.Cycled into Rennes via the cycle path about 5km of a flat cycle and is sign posted all the way in option to order breakfast very handy too.Staff very professional and friendly keep up the great work guys.

We spent about 3 hours here with our kids (ages 6-10) and we could have easily spent another hour here. If your kids are in for a little adventure I would highly recommend going to this place. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the price is reasonable.
Only minor point of critique is that the gloves were rather dirty and smelled musty. If I am ever in the neighborhood again I will definitely go here again.
Be aware that the place closes between 12 and one for lunch.
the attraction is great! our 6 & 3 year old had lots of fun, they do really have things to do specifically for each age and this is amazing.
LESS amazing is the fact that the crew on site decided that from 11:30 to 13:30 the site is closed for their lunch, and since we just arrived around 11:30 we had to wait around for 2 fricking hours!!!!
i double checked on their website and this is not written anywhere, so that was a disappointment, but when you get in, this is a great attraction, and the crew was nice and informative.
Excellent afternoon out! Our 3 & 8 year olds loved it there, as did we!! Great value for money as you can get a discounted ticket to accompany your little ones around the trails.

Nice pizzeria in the center of Rennes. The dough has a good texture (overnight cold fermentation I would guess), but could have more flavor. The toppings are high quality. However beware that for some pizza they will be added after the dough has been cooked in the oven ("après four" in the french menu). That's unusual and results in a colder pie.
I heard staff explaining this avoids altering the taste of the toppings. I had very good pizza done the traditional way, so I'm not convinced the temperature trade-off is worth it.

Beautiful park and forest, popular with the locals. It has everything you could need for a great day out as a couple, family or just a group of friends. Lake, bar/restaurant, crazy golf, pool, and an adventure centre in the forest catering for all ages from 2yrs to adults. If climbing trees and clambering through the canopy as an explorer this is the place for you. Similarly a gentle walk with the dog is popular.

Marché des Lices is one of the largest open-air flea and farmers markets in France, located in Rennes. It has been a gathering spot for locals since 1662 and attracts over 25,000 people every Saturday. The market offers a wide variety of products including flowers, plants, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, seafood, meats, organic produce from local farmers as well as local breads and ciders.
An outstanding farmer's market. You can spend the entire day there. Lots of fresh veggies and fish and loads of different food venders - so you won't starve! We are definitely going back.

One of the largest farmers markets I have ever been to, with such a wide variety of amazing things to see and eat. The sausage filled gallette foodtrucks were the highlight for me.
Saturday morning market for fruit and vegetables, locally produced food, hot food, flowers and books. It is very busy with locals and tourists alike. There are two indoor market halls for cheese, meat, fish and bread. It extends into the local streets and squares with all the local bars and bistros open for food and drink.

Very nice little museum, great for families with kids, almost like a petting zoo. They have farm animals, exhibits of how people lived in the past in the area. Free parking and free access, I loved it.

Im writing this because I couldn’t find a direct email address. Your Horse is in a horrendous condition. It needs to be brought to a vet as soon as possible. Someone needs to trim its hair and more importantly it’s hoofs! It can not walk properly with these cracked dry and unkept hoofs. This pain while walking likely causes its slight obesity. For reference: I have great experience with horses and I honestly ask you to bring the Horse to a vet as soon as possible!!!! Apart from that I really like the museum but I wanted to bring this to you attention

The atmosphere was also great, the choice of music was fantastic. We were also recommended some great wine that was very reasonably priced. My family and I had a great time here!
