Creperie
French restaurant
Located in a historic half-timbered building near the cathedral, La Saint-Georges offers a unique dining experience with its contemporary setting and outdoor terrace. The creperie is known for its innovative menu featuring sweet and savory crêpes with creative fillings, such as blue cheese, pear, speck ham, and crème fraîche galettes.
Best galette I have had (I had the Baby George), nice touch with the ice cream too. Nice vibe and atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a big stroller with us and the gentleman on the front desk helped us down the steps. Google score is a true reflection of this place. Highly recommend 👌
Tom S — Google review
These are the best galettes and crêpes that I've ever had. This restaurant has a very inventive menu, and it was really hard to choose only one dish. They also serve their galettes with a ketchup/wasabi ice cream, which was a special thing to try. The dry and the sweet apple cider were perfect and a must-try in Brittany. The restaurant transforms its dishes into a fine dining experience, and I would definitely return.
Alexandra-Maria E — Google review
Love the experience here Galette and crepes were really good If u come at peak hours, recommended to book Their menu is very interesting and quality of the dish is good Price is higher than normal restaurant

A Wonderful Evening at La Saint-Georges We had a fantastic dinner at La Saint-Georges! The food was delicious—every dish was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The staff were exceptional—attentive, friendly, and eager to make our experience special. Their warm service truly made the night memorable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Rennes! We’ll definitely be back.

Very nice and cozy venue. Upscale restaurant. Loved the crepes, great sauce on the ham, egg, and cheese one. Delicious dessert crepes as well, the meringue was very tasty. Good wine selection. Fast service.
Monica R — Google review
Beautiful location, funny menù. The Georges V crepe was very good, the Breton sweet crepe was not on par but still okay. Brut Cidre was excellent!
FM B — Google review
The best crepes and galettes in Rennes! A friend recommended this place to me and everything I ordered was delicious. Beautiful restaurant and very friendly staff. My favorite was the crepe filled with apple and fresh cream on the side.

Bistro
French restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Rennes, La Chope is a charming bistro that transports you back to the stylish 1930s with its warm red decor. This delightful venue specializes in traditional French cuisine, offering an array of delectable dishes such as house-made foie gras and fresh seafood, making it a perfect spot for both romantic dinners and gatherings with friends. The inviting atmosphere complements their gourmet menu, which features seasonal flavors that highlight Breton specialties.
Wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into this restaurant, but it was very good. The waitress was very helpful. She could speak English and was very patient with us. I had the fish of the day hack, which was very good. Also had the chicken and fry cheese combination for the plate plus appetizer for €28, which was very good bread was good. Wine was good reasonably priced !! for such a good meal and well presented happy customer with this meal and would highly recommend it. The atmosphere is really nice old café feeling
Harriet M — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Le Chop, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the tone for a cozy and refined evening. The staff was friendly, attentive, and well-informed about the menu. The food was absolutely exceptional. The wine selection was well-curated, and the dessert – a classic crème brûlée – was the perfect finish to our meal. Overall, Le Chop combines elegant French-inspired cuisine with a warm atmosphere and excellent service. Highly recommended for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Leka D — Google review
A wonderful place for a traditional French meal. All in French. Server was helpful and patient, but we needed to use a translation program to understand the menu.
Stephen O — Google review
Dining here feels like stepping into the comfort of traditional French cuisine. The menu leans on well-known classics, prepared in a way that is reliable and steady. Flavors are familiar rather than daring, and while the dishes may not surprise you, they won’t disappoint either. Service follows the same tone — attentive without being flashy. Overall, it’s the kind of place you turn to when you want a solid, no-frills French meal, more about reassurance than discovery. ⭐️ 3 out of 5 — worth a visit if you appreciate tradition over innovation.
SOPHIA S — Google review
A fantastic spot to experience the local dishes. Service is quick and with a smile
Jorge A — Google review
Proper old-school brasserie that ticks all the boxes. Great food, excellent service (a table of 23 (!) was seamlessly served whilst keeping the rest of us happy), lovely setting. Definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Rennes.
Simon H — Google review
Unfortunately the food was quite a disappointment. I ordered the risotto au curry Breton and got some sort of porridge with random vegetables on top. The interior of the restaurant however was quite nice.
Silvia — Google review
We had a wonderful dinner at this lovely restaurant, the server was very friendly and the food is just great! 19.9 euros for entrée plat dessert, it's really amazing. Love it!

Crêperie l'Épi de Blé Rennes is a charming spot where you can savor the best of Breton cuisine. The restaurant offers an excellent lunch deal, allowing you to indulge in a main course, dessert, local cider, and coffee at great value. Whether you prefer savory buckwheat galettes or sweet crepes made with wheat, this place surprises even the most discerning palates.
Very good and fast service, delicious and fresh moules, good breton specialties, reasonable prices. Nice place!
Carmen S — Google review
Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime to try the local speciality of buckwheat galettes. The service was quick and friendly enough, and the prices are not bad for a sit-down place. The lost star is because the outside of the bottle of fruit juice we ordered was quite dirty, which was a little off-putting. I also found my galette a little too salty, but that may just be personal taste.
Dom N — Google review
Perfect place to taste famous "Bretonne galette" (savory stuffed buckweat crepe) and crepes. Very delicious. Professional staff is speaking English. Located in the center.
Luda M — Google review
Thank you to the staff here for their patience and helpfulness. We held our group meeting here for people living in Bretagne, from overseas. The food was very good.
David T — Google review
Enjoyed stopping for crepes and a drink, everything was ok, nothing special. Toilet would benefit from cleaning and lock fixing.
Jon B — Google review
Delicious Gluten-free buckwheat crepes. Can be made both savory and sweet. The savory was tastier than the sweet crepe. The sweet crepe might be a little too sweet for my taste.

La Réserve is a charming restaurant in Rennes that offers a delightful dining experience. The split-level dining room and outdoor tables provide an elegant setting for savoring artfully presented French cuisine. This eco-responsible establishment seamlessly blends tradition and innovation, offering gluten-free options suitable for various occasions, from business meetings to romantic dinners. The contemporary bistro is known for its top-notch service and inventive yet hearty dishes, such as the beloved main pollock and beef flank steak.
Incredible food, lovely staff and great beers. We popped into Rennes on our 10-day motorcycle trip from Bilbao to St. Malo. Taxi dropped us off in a central location and we wondered around trying to find a good French restaurant amongst all the Asian, African and Crepe restaurants. Whilst everything else was still shut at 1800, La Reserve was open for drinks with the kitchen opening shortly after. As said, the staff is amazingly friendly. We started with 2 local beers (Sainte Colombe & Blanc Hermelin) which were incredible. Food wise we ordered Fois Gras, Beauf Tartare, 2 Steak & Frites as well a hake fish dish. Flavors were awesome and all food was cooked to perfection. Thank you Fred (chef) and service team.
Marc M — Google review
Market fresh fish and veg options on a beautiful street. Service was very friendly and efficient. The lotte (monkfish) was cooked perfectly, which is not an easy task, and there were some great local options to share.

Despite of the food is good ,they took to much time to serve and even the people who pass their order earlier, they received their food quite later then others. The service is really so awful!!

Black Temple Food is a restaurant in Rennes that offers a variety of exotic and flavorful dishes. The menu includes Indian specialties like Dahl made with red lentils, perfect for vegans. Additionally, the restaurant serves Caribbean cuisine, including Jamaican Ackee and saltfish. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who speak English. Guests can also enjoy Malorhum rum cocktails from the local area.
Wow, this restaurant was amazing. We had such a friendly waiter, and the food had all the spice lacking in regular French food. They have influences from Réunion and the Caribbean. Try the special sausage dish and make sure to get the orange hot sauce. If you are a drinker, you will be in rum heaven.
Marc N — Google review
Crevettes au curry was amazing. Rougail au saucisse was the second favourite. Recommend both. Dessert was a let down. Tiramisu was mostly cream. Would come back and try more dishes except the dessert.

This was such an amazing place to come across! Just moved to Rennes and I was definitely hoping to find a spot to get food that makes me feel like home. You won’t regret coming here. Very kind staff and delicioussss food. I see myself coming here a lot 😋ps- the empanadas and patacones are incredible. Try them.
Anais N — Google review
The good google score of this bar is because of the chilled out atmosphere (good reggae) and the cool guys at the bar. But the meal really was a disappointment. Portions were too small and there was not enough sauce on the place, price was too high and the taste was nothing special. Very sorry for the cool guys owning the restaurant but I would recommend the food to nobody.
Josh T — Google review
Best vegetarian food in Rennes (not considering Indian) in my view. Nonveg is pretty good as well. Must try Rum.

The scallops a la creole are amazing! The staff is very friendly and available to recommend food and drinks. I'll be back :)

A faux creole restaurant. Had the worst empanadas I have ever eaten. I ordered 3 beef and it was full of stale meat and potatoes filling.
Jock I — Google review
The food is great, we went for a Colombian typical food called Bandeja Paisa. It was a shame there were not many juices available. Also, since it was a hot day and there's not a lot of air circulation, it got quite warm inside the restaurant, so keep that in mind :)

Located in the heart of Rennes, Café Albertine is a charming organic tea room with a warm and inviting ambiance. It offers an affordable Saturday brunch menu featuring a wide variety of hot drinks and organic fruit juices to complement generous salads, authentic French crepes, and an array of desserts including fresh fruit salad, homemade cake, cookies, and muffins. This café provides a lesser-known but equally welcoming option for brunch in Rennes.
The coffee was good, I liked it. It’s an average cafe in Rennes, however I really love their vegan muffins. This makes me want to go back to the cafe, it is a good cafe to have a conversation with friends or by yourself! The area is so calm even though it’s in the city centre of Rennes. The barista was pretty nice tho.
Mahsyada H — Google review
The carrot cake and the cinnamon roll were the driest desserts I've ever had. Honestly, I'm still shocked by the poor quality.. The service was nice though.
Arawii — Google review
The brownie Sarrasin is special. The atmosphere is nice, though it can get a little loud with the crowd. However, it’s a great place to chill with friends and feel inspired.
Kwang L — Google review
The vegan banana & chocolate muffin is ridiculous. Lovely little café
Jack E — Google review
Overall good! We had a cappuccino with oat milk, carrot cake and a cinnamon bun. The bun was a bit dry.
Lea X — Google review
Nice dishes. I try One vegan soup WITH some Seeds inside and was Amazing. The vegan muffin with bananas, chocolate was also good. Try the cinnamon's tea!
Angelica F — Google review
Edit: onion problem resolved. Now I visit and recommend this establishment frequently. Still some of the best coffee in town. Friendly staff and great ambiance music. The carrot cake and cinnamon rolls are a must-try! Great place, unfortunate odor? I have been regularly going to Albertine's for a few years, but now unfortunately I have been avoiding it. The last few times I've been I leave with my clothing and hair reeking of burnt onions. At lunchtime the smell is especially strong, but even when I've gone a few times for morning coffee, I've had to change my clothes afterward. Otherwise the food and coffee are delicious.
Natalie C — Google review
Since they don’t have anything savory in the morning, I ordered a assorted salad instead (it’s not on the menu. The clerk just came up with the idea of putting all their side salad dishes into a bowl) The bowl had some beans and fresh veggies. However it’s almost hard to chew, even swallow. And it’s almost 8 euros! It’s totally terrible. Also, why does a brunch restaurant not have anything but muffins at 11 in the morning ??
