Monte-Carlo, one of the world's most glamorous destinations, is a city steeped in history and blessed by the sun. A rocky promontory between the blue sea and the verdant hills, it's the playground for the rich, famous and royal – including Prince Albert II of Monaco, who resides with his family in the world-famous palace. You can't miss the palace, but there's more to this city-state than royalty. The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco has a world class array of ocean life on display, and the Casino of Monte-Carlo fits right in with the city’s reputation for glitz and glamour.
With favorites like McDonald’s, Em Sherif Monte-Carlo, and Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, un restaurant de Yannick Alléno, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Amazónico Monte-Carlo and Em Sherif Monte-Carlo so you can get the best taste of Monte-Carlo while you’re here. Casino
Casinos & Gambling
The Casino de Monte-Carlo is an elegant Beaux-Arts building that has gained fame through its appearances in film and literature. It offers upscale casino gaming, including blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and slot machines. The casino is housed in a stunningly majestic 1800s building with turrets and cupolas that give it the appearance of a palace.
Visit before 12:00 and you can walk around the rooms listing to the audio guide for €20 per adult. It’s an amazing place to visit even if you are not gambling. If you wish to gamble you can return after 14:00 and access again or just turn up after 14:00. You will need a passport to access even when there’s no gaming. Enjoy a meal or a drink at the bar it’s a fantastic atmosphere.

Words don’t do this place justice. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the architecture and internal design on the ceilings. Honestly it gets better the further in you explore. We opted to get a Casino ticket to have a look around and had a bit of fun on the slot machines. I just couldn’t stop looking up at the ceiling. The designs are honestly beautiful. It’s definitely worth seeing if you like a visual feast.
Sean G — Google review
It is a lovely and well decorated place. Yet, they have a 20€ entry fee which is completely ridiculous. They trade on their reputation. I have been to dozens of casinos in different parts of the world that have fine art, beautul decor, and they welcome you without a tourist fee. There are lots of slot machines which definitely detract from the ambiance. The views in Monte Carlos lovely.
Mike L — Google review
I only spend few minutes in front and got what I came for. Many nice cars passing around ! Just be careful not to block them and be respectful. The casino is also very beautiful from the outside, I haven’t tried my luck to go in.
Laurent F — Google review
A famous casino where many luxury cars are often parked in the plaza. To enter the main lobby, there’s a simple bag check. Inside, you’ll find a service counter — appropriate attire, a passport, and the minimum exchange amount for chips are required to enter the casino. The souvenir shop inside the lobby is also worth a visit. Good luck. 🎰

Nestled in the heart of Monaco, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is an iconic establishment that exudes elegance, luxury, and charm. Built in 1863, this architectural masterpiece continues to captivate visitors with its opulent interiors and world-class gaming experience. As you step into the grand lobby, you are greeted by a stunning atrium adorned with marble floors, ornate pillars, and a breathtaking chandelier. The ambiance transports you to an era of old-world glamour, reminiscent of James Bond films and high society gatherings. The casino boasts a variety of gaming options, including approximately 140 gaming tables featuring Blackjack, Poker, Baccarat, and Roulette. Both traditional and modern slot machines are available, ensuring there's something for every type of player. For those seeking higher stakes, exclusive gaming rooms cater to elite clientele. The staff at Casino de Monte-Carlo are professional and friendly, ensuring your experience is both enjoyable and memorable. Whether you're a seasoned gambler or simply looking to immerse yourself in the lavish atmosphere, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is a must-visit destination when in Monaco. Overall, the Casino de Monte-Carlo lives up to its reputation as a premier gaming establishment. Its elegant ambiance, top-notch gaming options, and attentive staff combine to create an unforgettable experience for all who visit.

It is very luxury place and The Casino de Monte-Carlo is a legendary entertainment complex known for its opulent Belle Époque architecture. Designed by Charles Garnier, who also created the Paris Opera, it features stunning frescoes, sculptures, and gaming rooms. Since its 1863 opening, the casino's success was pivotal in solidifying Monaco's wealth, allowing Prince Charles III to eliminate taxes for residents. The complex also includes the prestigious Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Immortalized in James Bond films like GoldenEye, the venue remains a glamorous destination, though Monaco citizens are forbidden from gambling inside.
Niraj K — Google review
It was an experience. Absolutely stunning architecture all over. So grand inside. A must visit place if in Monaco. The entire casino is so special. Monegasques are forbidden to enter , work or gamble here. Designed by the famous architect of the Paris Opera. Foreigners just need to pay a fee of Euro 20 ... 10 euro entrance fee and 10 euro voucher for a drink or u cud use the voucher to gamble. Please dress smart to enter. We did however win 11 euro just for fun. The building will be lighted up at sunset. Which makes nice photography shots. Also many beautiful supercars parked in front to add to yr beautiful photos. Remember to list this place in your bucket list.

Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is an elegant brasserie with art nouveau-style decor and a spacious terrace. The establishment recently celebrated its 150th anniversary with a renovation overseen by the renowned Moinard Betaille firm, known for their work at prestigious venues such as Relais Plaza Athenee and Fondation Cartier.
Café de Paris – Monte Carlo Absolutely loved my time at this iconic spot in Monte Carlo. The moment you sit down, you feel the buzz of Monaco — elegance, history, and people-watching at its finest. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with the atmosphere. 🌟 Tip: Make a reservation ahead of time — this café is always full, and for good reason. Next time you’re in Monte Carlo, don’t just walk by — stop, sit, sip, and soak it in. A must-experience, whether for a meal, a coffee, or just to feel the heartbeat of the city. - Michelle

I’ve been coming here every few years since childhood and the experience has stayed remarkably consistent. The service is attentive and professional, though at times it can feel a little formal. Portions are far more generous than you’d expect for a place in the heart of Monte Carlo dishes come out looking grand and are plated with style. The onion soup was one of the best and one plate of tiramisu probably can be for 6 people. Although food is good it’s not somewhere you come for culinary surprises, but rather for the atmosphere, the setting on the square, and the sense of tradition
Mert E — Google review
I am impressed for both atmosphere and taste of food. We took oysters and salmon steak. Especially salmon steak had a special sauce with lemon and coconut which was impressive - I kept continue to eat the sauce with bread. Special attention to oysters, I would expect to have them cut and able to slide in sauce but it was not. It is also kids friendly - they have different main dishes + deserts option for the kids younger than 12. My daughter loved the beef steak and ice cream. Service was also kind and friendly. If you are in Monaco, this is the place to visit and eat once at least :)

Had an absolute wonderful time having lunch here! The food tasted amazing, would recommend the octopus and the tender pork loin. The service was great too and this restaurant has a beautiful ambience! Must try out this restaurant if you’re ever in Monaco!!

Cafe de Paris enjoys a truly fabulous location, right in the heart of the casino district. Sitting outside is a unique experience, where you can people-watch and admire the parade of luxury cars passing by. However, note that the outdoor area only offers café service, and on hot days you may need to wait quite a while to get a table. Inside, the atmosphere is air-conditioned and very luxurious, but during peak season it can get extremely crowded — sometimes it takes around 15 minutes just to place an order or get service from a waiter. The food itself is decent, tasty enough, but nothing particularly exceptional or memorable. At the end of the day, what you are really paying for here is the glamorous design and the unbeatable location.
Melisa S — Google review
My husband and I dined here when visiting Monaco. We dined inside of the restaurant, the decor is beautiful and truly gives you that luxurious experience. There is a patio area outside with a separate menu. Everything we ordered was delicious, we had zero complaints. Our waiter was attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. We will visit again when visiting Monaco.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely stunning place! Cafe de Paris didn’t disappoint from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed at the door and even allowed to choose the table we wanted. The desserts and coffee were absolutely delicious, and the view and atmosphere were just amazing. The staff were so friendly and kind—made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Amazónico Monte-Carlo is a unique dining destination in the heart of Monaco, offering a fusion of Amazonian, Asian, and Mediterranean flavors. Created by renowned chefs Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, this restaurant promises an unforgettable culinary experience with its deep and diverse taste profiles. Since its opening in April 2024, it has become a must-visit spot for Monegasque nights, standing out as an atypical yet exceptional venue that sets itself apart from the competition.
Our experience at Amazónico Monte Carlo was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere is vibrant and elegant, combining tropical flair with Monte Carlo sophistication. The service was attentive, warm, and professional ,every detail was handled with such care. The food was exceptional: each dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced. The cocktails were creative and delicious, adding to the overall experience. From the lively ambiance to the outstanding cuisine, everything exceeded expectations. Truly one of the best dining experiences in Monte Carlo highly recommended.

Vibes are elite. Elephants going off in the bathroom. It’s a luxury rain forest cafe. Steak was cooked to perfection. Wok vegetable sides were delicious. Cocktails were all refreshing. Dessert was amazing to top it off. Definitely premium pricing. We sat on rooftop with live music

I had an excellent dining experience at Amazónico in Monte Carlo. The atmosphere is vibrant and stylish, perfectly suited for both business and leisure occasions. I enjoyed the rump steak and lamb — both were cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. The selection of white wine complemented the dishes beautifully. Service was attentive, professional, and added to the overall positive impression. A truly memorable evening — highly recommended.
Gega M — Google review
In the heart of Monte-Carlo, Amazonico offers one of the most stunning views I’ve experienced in Monaco. The atmosphere was truly exceptional, and cocktails were quite enjoyable. We had several dishes; however, the flavors—particularly the sauces—were a bit too intense for my personal taste. For example, the broccoli and the rice had a very strong sweetness, which made it difficult to finish the dishes. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the salad and the shrimps. I will certainly return for the ambiance.
Arina V — Google review
We had such a wonderful experience at Amazónico Monte Carlo! From start to finish, everything was perfect — the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The ambience and atmosphere are truly something special — stylish, vibrant, and full of party energy that carries on into the night. It’s the perfect spot whether you’re looking for a lively dinner or a fun night out. We ordered the arroz with seafood and a selection of sushi, and both were outstanding — beautifully prepared and packed with flavor. Every bite was a delight. To top it all off, the location is amazing — right next to the Casino and in the heart of Monte Carlo, which made the night even more magical. Highly recommended — a must-visit if you’re in Monte Carlo! Will definitely be coming back.

Our experience was outstanding! We started with fried frog legs and empanadas, followed by the pulpo (grilled octopus) as the main dish, all perfectly prepared. Our waiter, Marwen, was exceptionally kind and well-mannered, making the evening even more enjoyable. To finish, we had what I can honestly say was the best dessert ever. If you visit Amazonico, you absolutely must try it!
Ana P — Google review
Elite and gorgeous, one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever visited and so far my absolute fav in Cote d Azur. Rich decor, even richer view, one of those places you eternally come back to. I booked it just the same day-Friday- and looked for an inside table so I could get the most festive energy of the place, considering the terrace area more talking friendly and family dinner oriented. While waiting for our table to be ready we were served the best passion fruit martini I have ever tasted (I am a quite specialist in this one) on the terrace and must say the view was astonishing.I almost rebooked for a table outside. Also, the vibes here were also quite festive but way less than inside, so for the views and lighter atmosphere I would go with the table outside. When we were seated for a dinner the party vibes started after 10:30pm as per usual so no need for a rush to book before and inside was empty even around 9pm but later got super busy. The food was delightful, sushi was amazing, steak and sides also could recommend but the cocktails are here a must try. I came specifically to indulge myself in cocktails and music as I did and maybe overdid it. Cocktails were out of this world, with the taste and presentation. We were treated with so much love from the hostesses, they were attentive and took the best care of us providing us almost everything we kindly asked for.
Dealicious — Google review
Came here for a special experience with my friend on our trip to Monaco. It was definitely special, but intimidating. As two young women, we felt a bit awkward and judged on our way to the restaurant. It was a really nice experience with staff, despite the row of women servers waiting to assist feeling a bit strange to us. It’s unusual for us to go to such high end places, so this probably was the cause of our discomfort, and the staff were generally very nice and helpful, if at times a little too assisting 😂 The atmosphere was not great, as we went at 6:45pm and were literally the only 2 people dining inside at the time, but towards the end of our meal it picked up a bit. The decor was gorgeous, and certainly made for a unique experience. The food was delicious, but small. We started with cocktails, I can’t remember the name of what I had but it was good. For dinner I had the fish from the wok, which came with sauce and some vegetables but was tiny. We shared a bottle of wine, and for dessert I had the chocolate mousse. This was a highlight for me, as I love chocolate and it was super rich and delicious, but I couldn’t finish it. Overall it was a great experience, but I think a bit pricey for what the food was.

Lebanese restaurant
Em Sherif Monte-Carlo, located on the ground floor of Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo, offers an authentic Lebanese-Mediterranean dining experience in a warm and lively ambiance with a stunning view of the sea. The restaurant is praised for its fresh and clean flavors, providing a sensory journey that captivates guests. While some diners expressed disappointment at not being able to order certain Lebanese favorites due to ingredient sourcing, others lauded the establishment as the best Lebanese restaurant they've ever experienced.
Hands down one of the best middle eastern restaurants I have been to! Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious. We did family style and ordered a bunch of dishes. You honestly can’t go wrong with whatever you order. I highly recommend the chorizo hummus, labneh, falafel and for dessert the knafa and ashta icecream. The staff here are extremely friendly. As a FYI they have a dress code for men: no shorts allowed. If you’re looking for a restaurant in Monaco you have to come here. The ambiance is also amazing especially the outdoor dining aspect. The music was amazing too!

The dining experience was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious and served promptly, and we were seated without delay. The view was beautiful, and the atmosphere was refined yet welcoming. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely warm, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

Em Sherif Monte Carlo had everything we could wish for - a terrace overlooking the sea, attentive and respectful personnel and flavourful dishes of Lebanese cuisine. Thank you for a great and authentic experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this Lebanese restaurant. The food was simply sublime and every dish was full of authentic flavors and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was lively yet cozy, making it the ideal place for an unforgettable evening. The service was just as outstanding. Siham made us feel incredibly welcome with her kindness and warm hospitality, and our waiter Amine provided excellent care and attention throughout the night. I also want to compliment the manager, Salah, whose positive energy and presence always make us feel at home. He truly ensures that every guest enjoys the best possible experience. This restaurant is a place I would highly recommend to anyone and exceptional food, amazing service, and a wonderful team that makes you feel special every time.

The food is within the average Lebanese food, but the price little bit higher than usual, which is OK in this area in Monaco, but the atmosphere and the view it’s really perfect and recommended. You have to make a reservation.
Saud M — Google review
Exactly what you expect from a place like this. The atmosphere is good, the staff is all around and friendly. The portions may be a bit bigger, but you got a lot of side dishes instead. The food is good. The price tag, as expected is a bit higher than the other restaurants in the area.
Stanislav S — Google review
I was born & raised in the Middle East so can claim that I know the Mediterranean cuisine rather well! Em Sherif sets the bar high when it comes to this location, the staff attitude, the excellence in presentation & of course the very delicious food! I was there for the Monaco GP (Grand Prix) weekend so it was a set menu although I was hoping to try some à la carte options but those weren’t available. The starters such as hummus, moutabel along with those kebabs (meat balls), chicken and many others were really great and do not get me started on the freshly baked Arabic bread! The deserts were all top notch with exception but we all admittedly fell in love with the traditional Arabic ice cream (booza) with cotton candy & pistachio! It was so good that we ordered an extra one! In terms of improvement there’s not much to say except the chicken could’ve been of better quality! On an unrelated note I saw some videos circling social media on the lady behind Em Sherif which is truly such an amazing place (I tried the one in Dubai as well) so indeed well done to her! However, she may want to consider the way she speaks on social media about how she treats the chefs/staff at her restaurants as some things she said weren’t very encouraging to hear for me from a client’s perspective!

Fine dining restaurant
Le Grill is a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant located on the eighth floor of the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo. The restaurant offers stunning views of the sea and the city, creating an elegant and stylish atmosphere for diners.
This was the best dinner dining out as a couple we have ever experienced in our lives. And we’ve eaten at the best places in NYC,Florida,Europe etc. Incredible attentiveness paired with outstanding cuisine and atmosphere all meshed together for perfection. The manager, whose name escapes me, made for such a memorable experience. The servers were also so professional and polished and personable. Really a model in how hospitality in a restaurant should operate. Thank you for the most amazing memories.

Le Grill is next-level. One-star Michelin inside a Paris hotel in Monte Carlo, but the vibe feels more like Dubai—super opulent, over-the-top in the best way. They open all the windows when the weather’s good, and the view is unreal. You’re literally watching the sunset and the moon rise while eating dinner. Pretty unforgettable. Seems like they only do one seating per night, so service is focused and relaxed. Food was excellent—filet is a standout. Massive wine list. Only weird note: they didn’t crumb the table or reset silverware as precisely as you’d expect at this level. But the support staff more than made up for it—kind, attentive, really welcoming. We stayed nearly four hours. It’s that kind of place—slow, indulgent, and worth it. Would definitely come back.

Wow! Just wow! My husband and I visited for the last evening of our stay in Monaco and we were blown away! The food was nothing short of incredible and the service next level! Thank you very much for making a special trip just that little bit more special!

Le Grill at Hôtel de Paris is an absolutely exceptional restaurant. The cuisine is outstanding – every dish was perfectly executed and full of flavor. The terrace view is simply breathtaking, making the whole dining experience unforgettable. Service is truly world-class – professional, elegant, yet warm and natural at the same time. The atmosphere is refined but never stiff, striking the perfect balance. A must-visit when in Monte Carlo.

The food and service was great. And you can’t beat the view! We had a table on the 8th fl terrace and they had pashminas/covers for the ladies who may be cold with the wind. Very attentive servers, all compliments! I would definitely recommend especially at sunset with your partner!

Monaco | Monte-Carlo | Hôtel de Paris | Michel Star Restaurant Le Grill ⭐️ A setting that already had little chance to fail accompanied by the spectacular view into the harbour would have made a two souvlaki order into a first class dinner. But, no souvlaki that night! Instead we were served the Constellation Menu with an extra Foie Gras to start with and a selection of wonderful cheese to prepare the signature soufflé at the end. Blue Lobster, fresh vegetable, tiny and tasteful mushroom and Magret de Canard made our mind and soul dance, while the full moon was slowly rising on the horizon. These are the moments you could spend your whole life waiting for it to come, and it still wouldn’t have been a wasted life. And then the moment of truth: the Soufflé. Maybe having Extras with the Menu was not such a good idea after all - was my first thought, but already with the first bite it was clear, dying now would be a fair price to pay for the experience. Hotel de Paris, Monaco, this will definitely not be my last visit here. Thanks so much for your hospitality. ❤️

A Feast for the Senses I don’t even know where to start—or if I ever want to stop talking about it. The food was exceptional, the aroma intoxicating, and every ingredient tasted fresh and vibrant. The staff? Thoughtful and warm in a way that made the whole experience even more special. And that view—absolutely breathtaking. It was all simply unforgettable. Will definitely be back!

Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, a restaurant created by Yannick Alleno, offers a unique dining experience that combines the finest gastronomic dishes with a focus on healthy eating and well-being. The restaurant's terrace provides stunning panoramic views of Port Hercule and the Rock. Situated at Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Pavyllon showcases modernity and excellence in Monaco's fine dining scene.
Pavyllon is a beautiful fine dining restaurant in the heart of Monaco. Located within the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, to access the restaurant, you go in the main doors of the hotel where one of the attendants will ask your reason for visit and take you to the restaurant. If someone does not come up to you, the hallway that takes you to Pavyllon is on the right side of the atrium. The restaurant decor is beautiful. It is a chic aesthetic that is immaculately clean. They have an open kitchen so if you are seated at the bar, you have a front row seat to their preparation. There is also a patio which is available weather-permitting and has a great ambiance. The bathrooms are extremely clean and quite fancy. We ordered the set menu for lunch which comprised of a cooked foie gras salad, a beautiful traditional trouchia, steamed sea bass with Japanese flavours, lamb chops with a shiso coulis and candied orange with mascarpone ice cream for dessert. The food was unbelievable! The trouchia was absolutely stunning in its presentation. It was one of the prettiest dishes I’ve seen and it was almost difficult to eat because it was like eating a piece of art! Flavour-wise, everything was delicious. The lamb was juicy and the accompanying sauce was a perfect complement. This dining experience was top notch. The ambiance was upscale, the service was exceptional and the food was amazing. We would love to come back the next time we are in Monaco!

My evening at Pavyllon Monte-Carlo was nothing short of extraordinary. Even though I arrived a bit late for my reservation, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff made me feel instantly welcome, setting the tone for a truly memorable dining experience. Opting for the chef’s menu turned out to be an inspired choice. It allowed me to indulge in a unique variety of dishes I may not have otherwise selected, each one crafted with meticulous precision and bursting with bold, harmonious flavors. Every plate was an incredible culinary delight, reflecting both innovation and refined technique. Beyond the exceptional food, the staff’s thoughtfulness and accommodating nature truly stood out. Whether offering to retrieve my purse from the restroom or capturing a few photos for me at the end of the meal, their genuine hospitality elevated the experience far beyond just fine dining—it felt personal, effortless, and beautifully curated. The restaurant’s location, overlooks the sea and the iconic Formula 1 race track, which provided an unforgettable backdrop that enhanced every moment, making the evening feel as special as the setting itself. For those seeking an exquisite blend of culinary artistry, unparalleled service, and a stunning ambiance, Pavyllon Monte-Carlo is the perfect destination. A truly unforgettable gastronomic journey!

Lovely restaurant inside the Hermitage Hotel. Has a large outdoor balcony that overlooks all of Monte Carlo’s harbor. Food is Mediterranean and is quite good with a nice variety. I had the Foul And my wife had the Lamb. Service was good and the waitstaff was Very attentive and friendly. For a Michelin Star restaurant and its location we found the prices to be very reasonable. Would certainly eat here again

The food was too heavy for me that I felt sick. The opening course of the amuse-bouche was pretty good, and so was the bread. The crab appetizer was surprising and had really fun textures. The pasta with peas tasted really weird, it was almost like vinegary. After the seabass course with the almond milk I felt so nauseated the food felt too filling that I was feeling sick. They kept on serving me food that was way too thick, creamy, and filling that by the lamb course, I felt I wanted to throw up just smelling it. I usually always try to finish my food or at least try a bite during tasting menus. I had a taste of the mashed potato and it was okay but at that point I was close to gagging I couldn’t even try the lamb. They still served me both the desserts even though I told them I couldn’t do it anymore. On the way out to the restaurant I was gagging and I threw up in the bathroom (and cried obviously because I spent my hard earned money to feel sick). I was solo dining and I really had my hopes up. I wish the waiters were more attentive because I came out of this restaurant paying 288 USD just to feel so nauseated, sick and to throw up. There was no lightness/freshness between the dishes. Maybe I’ll come back in a couple years if they change their menu and it looks like there’s more balance. Other than that, the ambience was nice with the open view and the open kitchen — but it was too noisy at one point I couldn’t hear the servers describing the dish to me and whenever I told them anything they couldn’t hear properly.

We went for dinner without a reservation, even though reservations are highly recommended. Despite this, the management went out of their way to accommodate us, which we truly appreciated. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. the terrace overlooks a beautiful bay filled with luxury yachts. overall ambiance and aesthetics are simply unmatched. Both the food and the service were excellent. We tried several different dishes, and everything was delicious. The shrimp tartare stood out as my personal favorite. A memorable dining experience from start to finish.

Pavyllon Monte-Carlo. A one‑Michelin‑star restaurant by Chef Yannick Alléno in Hermitage Hotel in Monte Carlo. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a tasting‑counter. The garden patio with a view of the sea is a bonus when with our permits. In terms of food, the offering is French cuisine using innovative methods like cold extraction. Desserts were excellent and not heavy on sugar.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Musée océanographique de Monaco, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Centre commercial de Fontvieille. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Perched dramatically on a cliffside, the Musee Oceanographique de Monaco was established by Prince Albert I and has been captivating visitors since 1910. The museum boasts an impressive aquarium featuring 6000 specimens, including sharks, tropical fish, and Mediterranean species housed in ninety tanks. It serves as a tribute to the prince's contributions to oceanography and marine biology. Additionally, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Monaco and the Mediterranean from the rooftop terrace.
I highly recommend visiting the Monaco Oceanographic Museum. The building has five levels in total (including the ground floor and terrace), but the two highlights are Floor -2 and Floor +1. Floor -2 (Aquariums): This is where you’ll find the aquariums, the main attraction for both adults and children. It’s a must-see. Floor +1 (Exhibits): This floor houses fascinating exhibits about oceanography, exploration, and history. Adults will find them engaging, though children may lose interest quickly. For families, a good strategy is to let the kids enjoy the aquariums first while you take time to explore the museum-style exhibits upstairs without rushing. A visit takes a minimum of 2 hours, with 3 hours being ideal. Anything longer might feel overwhelming, so if you want to dive deeper into all the details and information panels, it’s worth considering a second visit. Other floors are less essential: Floor -1: Mostly empty. Ground floor (0): Entrance, gift shop, and a stunning conference hall that looks more like a palace. Terrace (+2): Offers beautiful views but not a major highlight compared to the main exhibits. Overall, the museum is an enriching experience, especially if you focus on the two key levels.

Is this place awesome? Yes. Is it worth the entry price? Maybe. Would I go again? No. Let me clarify. If you've got kids, it's DEFINITELY worth it. Otherwise there's other things to do / see that are more amazing. What it's got is a nice restaurant terrace with a kids playground. And an awesome function room that we spend some time just sitting. Otherwise it's just good, but not great.
Petrut I — Google review
Beautiful and well curated. The aquarium part is well kept, with interesting information about the fish and other creatures kept in the tanks. It is not too big, but with its focus on the Mediterranean, it covered a lot of species. The exhibit part was very interesting and organised, and much better than what I would expect from what I thought would be an aquarium. The 2050 exhibit was positive and engaging, and I left feeling hopeful (in contrast to the usual feeling of helplessness against climate change). The view from the terrace is beautiful.

A must do visit in Monaco, with or without children. The building itself was very impressive. However the displays were amazing. The exhibition was incredibly well done and very entertaining. The view from the rooftop with its restaurant and cafe was amazing.

One of the most beautiful museums in Europe! On the very edge of a steep cliff, carved into stone overlooking the ocean. Very modern and well kept with exhibitions ranging from polar ice explorations and skeletons of blue whales to the history of Monaco. Definitely a must visit if you go to Monaco! We did not buy tickets in advance nor did we wait, visited in July!
Nikola G — Google review
The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco made a huge impression on me. It’s beautifully designed, with incredible attention to detail — both the exhibits and the building’s architecture are truly impressive. The only small downside is that navigation inside isn’t very intuitive — the tour starts from the lower floors, but there aren’t many clear signs indicating that. Aside from that, it’s a fantastic experience! There’s a huge number of exhibits, historical artifacts, and interactive displays that capture the attention of both adults and children. It’s definitely worth buying a combined ticket with the Prince’s Car Collection — it’s cheaper as a bundle and both attractions complement each other well. On the rooftop, there’s a terrace offering a stunning panoramic view of the sea and a restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere — a perfect place to take a break after visiting the museum. A highlight is the “Mediterranee 2050” interactive exhibition, which explores the future of marine life and the challenges facing the Mediterranean ecosystem. It’s beautifully executed, thought-provoking, and leaves a lasting impression.

My favourite place in the world! Beautiful building on the side of the cliff, price was 22 euro for an adult but well worth it, especially if you have never been before. Large clean tanks and animals look well cared for. New digital installation which the nephews loved. Make sure you go to the rooftop for the panoramic views! Lush clear blue sea and fab views of the boats and port.
Hayley H — Google review
Small, but great aquarium at the top of a mountain. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the walk up and up and up the incline to reach the aquarium. Most of the people going up to the museum stopped to rest and enjoy the view about midway up. I believe there is a little train/tram... wish I had known before the exhausting climb.

Nestled in the heart of Monaco, the Cathédrale de Monaco stands as a stunning example of Romanesque architecture dedicated to Saint Nicholas. This magnificent cathedral, which serves as the seat of the Bishop of Monaco, was built in gratitude for Saint Nicholas's legendary act of saving sailors from perilous waters.
Nice historical location here in Monaco. Lots to see. You can walk around and get a lot of views in on foot. Love this country. Everyone so friendly We ask a carabinere(state police) all the time for directions they are really nice guys.

A Catholic church built in the Neo-Romanesque architectural style and dedicated to Notre-Dame (Virgin Mary). Impressive religious artworks, sculptures and glass panels adore this enormous place of worship. Wasn't lucky to linger more than 15 mins as there was a planned baptism on that Sunday.

The Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate is a beautiful landmark that combines spiritual importance with impressive architecture. Built in white stone, it has a bright and elegant exterior, while the interior is peaceful and decorated with fine details. It is also the resting place of Monaco’s princes and Princess Grace, which gives it special historical significance. The cathedral offers a calm atmosphere and is definitely worth a visit for both its religious and cultural value.
Mateo B — Google review
Just a short stroll from the palace lies Monaco’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, a quietly splendid stone sanctuary that radiates calm, class, and just the right amount of royal gravitas. Built in creamy white stone, the cathedral is elegant without being flashy — think duchess, not diva. Inside, it’s cool and composed, with soft light, soaring arches, and a deep sense of peace that gently insists you lower your voice and your pulse. It’s also the final resting place of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III, their tombs marked with simple dignity amid quiet reverence. The organ is magnificent, the acoustics divine, and the atmosphere just the tonic for a hot Riviera afternoon. Step in for a moment of stillness and grace and perhaps to give your sunhat a break.
The Y — Google review
Located conveniently between the Prince's Palace and the Oceanographic Museum (literally only a 5 or 6 minute walk from either of them) and directly across the street from the Jardins Saint-Martin. The exterior of the Cathedral is grand and striking. The interior has very simple decorations and adornments, which actually helps give it a sense of tranquility and solace. The building is typically open to the public around 09:00 to 18:00 (9am to 6pm) except during religious services. Entry is free, and you can light a candle for about €2. A prominent feature are the tombs of past royal family members and Monaco dignitaries, including Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly. I recommend a visit if you're into history, architecture, or want to experience a place which harmoniously blends quiet serenity, elegance, simplicity, and reflection.

The Cathedral of Monaco is a stunning spot in Monaco-Ville. The white stone exterior is impressive, and inside, the Romanesque design creates a peaceful, almost reverent atmosphere. I was particularly moved by the tombs of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier, which add a sense of history to the space. The stained-glass windows cast a soft glow, enhancing the calm. It’s free to enter, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area — it’s a beautiful and quiet escape from the busier parts of Monaco.
Kungfu-pigeon — Google review
Spectacular structure. It's not as decorated as you'd expect but the architecture is brilliant. Super high. Holds the tombs of the princesses of Monaco. Worth walking over 5 minutes from the palace.
Yuval K — Google review
The Monaco Cathedral is an absolute masterpiece of Neo-Romanesque style. Built with dazzling white stone from La Turbie, it stands proudly on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, creating one of the most striking vistas on the Riviera. What’s remarkable is how the building harmonizes with its natural setting—the bright stone façade almost glows against the lush greenery and rocky cliffs, making it a landmark visible from sea and land alike. Even if you’re not particularly religious, the architecture alone makes this a must-see. It’s an elegant example of Romanesque revival done right.

The Prince's Palace of Monaco, a 13th-century residence, offers lavish state apartments that are open to the public seasonally. Monaco provides a stunning backdrop for romantic experiences, such as proposals, with its Mediterranean coastline and glamorous attractions like the Monte Carlo Casino. The palace is often included in sightseeing tours and shore excursions that also visit other historic sites and landmarks in Monaco. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from the palace terrace while admiring Port Hercule.
I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the history of Monaco and it's monarchy. This palace is the seat of the royal family and still plays an active role in the government. They recommend purchasing admission tickets in advance online, but tickets can also be bought at the gift shop across the plaza. You will have to go though a security screening to enter the palace. The tour is self-guided, and an audio-guide in 11 languages is included with your ticket. An entire wing is open to the public, so allow at least an hour if you want to see everything. The audio-tour dives deep into the country's history, and I found it very interesting. Each room features beautiful artifacts, furnishings, and vivid information. Guide-led tours are also available, but must be booked in advance. If you plan to visit the nearby Oceanographic Museum on the same day, you can purchase a combo ticket to both for a reduced rate.

The Prince's Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the Prince of Monaco. It's built on a former fortress site from the 13th century. Parts of the original fortress still visible within its stone walls and towers. Due to lack of time could not visit the interior of the palace. But enjoyed the spectacular, panoramic views of the city, the harbor with the yachts, and the surrounding mountains from the location of the palace. Wonderful experience even without getting inside the palace. Highly recommend it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Place du Palais Princier – Monaco We didn’t go inside the palace, but the square itself is absolutely beautiful! Charming little streets with nice shops, bars, and restaurants — all at reasonable prices (especially for Monaco!). The view over the bay and the small yacht harbor is truly spectacular. It’s best explored on foot. At 11:55 a.m. you can watch the changing of the guard — quite fun to see, though it gets crowded and the area is roped off. Still, definitely worth a visit when in Monaco!
Alexander W — Google review
Saw the change of guards ceremony. It was worth the effort to go uphill and watch this. Also, the gift shop in the courtyard is very reasonable compared to other souvenir shops in the city. The view of Monte Carlo from the palace is breathtaking.

A must see if in Monaco! I took the Hop on & Hop off bus tour to the Palace and in my opinion is the best way to get up there if you're a tourist! I actually got off the bus twice at this particular stop because it is so SPECTACULAR! Best views of Monaco. This is not a place, it's a DREAM! It could get very windy but that's all part of the allure. If you're traveling solo, then a selfie stick is your best friend. You'll get AMAZING shots. Other than the Palace, there are a few small places to eat and some souvenirs vendors, oh there was like some changing of the guard kinda protocol that took place for a few.

The "drink only" place. Even being hungry I could not finish my Ceaser salad. Besides we had pizza Fredy's, fish, soup, couple of salads. NONE of this was good. Tasteless, not fresh, not "just cooked". Funny, but the bread starter was the worst I've ever tasted. Touristic place with fake rating. One star for good service, one star we have not been charged for the course we did not like.

McDonald's, a well-established fast-food chain renowned for its burgers and fries, is known for offering a traditional menu. Customers can conveniently place their orders using the electronic ordering system and make payment at the same location. While waiting for their food, patrons are assigned a number that is called out in French. The popular restaurant tends to be crowded during events like the Monte-Carlo grand prix weekend.

A classic McDonald's restaurant at a port, though the terrace could get some refurbishing. The cool air inside was nice, friendly staff, although the waiting is a bit longer than standard. The food is good as in every restaurant of the franchise.

This was the first McDonald’s I’ve ever been to that serves food not in the usual carton packaging but in reusable rigid plastic containers, which actually feels much better 🌍👏 When you order from the self-service screens, the staff brings the food directly to your table – a nice touch! The place was quite loud and crowded, but overall okay. The food quality is just like any other McDonald’s – nothing surprising 🍟🍔 Honestly, it’s probably the only affordable place in Monaco where you can actually get full without breaking the bank. Would recommend if you’re hungry and on a budget! 💸

Make sure to plan ahead if you're coming to monaco and make sure you dont starve cause you might just not be eating considering the nearest free parking to the casino as an example was 3km away.

The order didn't match what they brought, but I'm too shy to say anything. the bacon had a terrible taste, as if it had gone bad, there was no way to charge my phone, the view from the window was amazing, the cups were plastic instead of paper, for which I am very grateful.

Worst fast food on the planet & what a disgrace for our Principality! The tables are sticky from not being cleaned, the outdoor seatings smell like rotten pigeon carcasse, the ordering machines do not have enough printing paper & when you ask a member of the army of unpleasant staff, that member tells you that they do not have the time…… Not desserts either & cherry on the cake…..No ice creams during summer! I think the monegasque government should really do something about this awful disgrace of a place!!!! Take their licence away & replace it with a company worth the image of our country! And I not mentionning the bird crap all over the place as well as the pigeons walking around the inside of the place!

La Montgolfière, Henri Geraci

Restaurant
La Montgolfière, Henri Geraci is a renowned restaurant located in the historic district of Monaco. It is known for its traditional French and Mediterranean cuisine, offering dishes like tuna tartare and foie gras. The restaurant is praised for its exceptional flavors and presentation, with visitors considering it one of the best dining experiences in France and Monaco. The area around La Montgolfière also boasts other traditional eateries as well as unique dining locations such as Castelroc and Arrow Burger.
I was intrigued by the dishes and reviews of this restaurant and booked a table, I was not disappointed. Their dishes are truly unique and the flavors are complex. We enjoyed everything we ordered. I especially liked the chard pie for dessert. I've never had anything like it! The eggplant was delicious so were our entrees. The restaurant is run by good people and I highly recommend skipping the overpriced boring restaurants in monaco and eat something truly special here.

Excellent food, excellent taste and just overall amazing. We did not have a reservation but typically it is needed. We ordered the black cod and beef ravioli/stew. Absolutely amazing. Not enough good words to say. The restaurant dog is also cute.

The best meal I had during my stay in French Riviera. The chef definitely had many thoughts on how to balance the taste and texture of multiple ingredients. The price is fair in Monaco and the portion is decent. I seated outside but the service was very timely still, the waiter was friendly as he tried really hard to explain the menu to me in English (would be good if they have an English menu).

What an incredible experience. Henri and Fabienne delivered what for us was our most special experience in Nice. Only a few lucky diners are able to get a cool breezy seat al fresco, so if you see an empty seat FOR SURE ask if it’s available. If it is, don’t overthink the choice, just SIT DOWN. Every single thing we tasted - from watermelon salad to delicate fish was unforgettable. Even better, the meal was complemented by the patio scene, including the owners’ dog Pepper. C’étais si si bon!!

Very nice off the beaten path place. Food and service were excellent. We had the Lasagna Bolognese and the Ravioli in Porcini Sauce. The house wines were also good. Dishes are made to order and very hot. Would definitely recommend. Most people would just walk by but the chalkboard menu and Michelin sign caught our eye.

The food here was so delicious! Decided to walk in without a reservation and was so lucky I got one. The mint burrata salad was so refreshing and the monkfish was so special.

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. We had the braised guinea fowl and the gnocchi with squid. The gnocchi were delicious, but the guinea hen was fantastic. It was juicy and flavorful. It came with a wonderful gravy, served over lemon mashed potatoes. I had never heard of lemon mashed potatoes, nor had it ever occurred to me that this would be a good idea. It's better than good. It’s spectacular, and they set off the richness of the meat and gravy with a light, fresh zest that just made it all pop. The waitress picked us nice wines to go along and brought out some lovely crustiini as an appetizer. Great, friendly service, wonderful food, and a nice location in the shade and slightly off the beaten path made this a really nice experience. Very highly recommended.

We had high expectations due to the good reviews we read all around. Menu options were original and creative, the black cod was really tasting but maybe do not worth the extra charge (18€ more to be added to the 59€ for a 3 course menu), portions were correct. We sat outside on the little street, that was nice. For a service of only 5 tables, the three courses menu lasted 2 hours which for someone can be a bit slow. Service was average, nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it was fine.

La Saliere

Restaurant
Located in the heart of Monaco, La Saliere is a renowned Italian restaurant and pizzeria that has been serving authentic cuisine for many years. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as antipasti, vitello tonnato, aubergines Parmigiana, bruschette, Milanese, and traditional Neapolitan pizzas made with high-quality ingredients. What sets La Saliere apart is its dedication to using locally sourced ingredients in every dish.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and humour by Marika, who set the tone for a wonderful evening. She was funny, engaging, and truly excellent in every way. Sergio, our other server, kept the energy going with the same light-hearted and attentive service — both were absolute standouts. I ordered the seafood pasta, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The team even added olives at my request — a small touch, but one that made the dish feel personal and was not any trouble at all. My wife, who is vegetarian, was treated just as thoughtfully. They specially prepared a black squid ink risotto without the seafood, just for her — something you don’t see often, and she loved it. Again, no trouble. Exceptional service and thoughtful food — we’ll be back.

A great family restaurant in Fontvieille! We ordered almost half of the menu and everything was truly delicious. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for families. Highly recommend La Salière if you are looking for excellent food and a pleasant dining experience in Monaco.

Nice vibes with port view. This restaurant has been established since 1982 with many recurring local customers. Fine service , super delicious chicken Milanese, and truffle cheese pizza, and Pama ham with mozzarella. Highly recommended.

Dinner at La Saliere was absolutely incredible! I had the carbonara and it was beyond delicious — rich, authentic, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is welcoming and stylish, the kind of place you can enjoy both a special night out and a relaxed dinner with friends. What truly made the evening unforgettable was our waiter, Ciro. He is hands down the best waiter they have — extremely attentive, genuine, and kind. By the end of the night, I truly felt like I had made a new friend. I would come back to Monaco just to see Chiro again and to enjoy another meal at La Saliere. A must-visit!
