Stunning views to just look out at and take a moment to appreciate our beautiful country 🥰 we managed to get my dad up In his wheelchair and he wanted to stand and take the view in 💙 we arrived just as the shop/cafe closed so didn’t get into have a wee look. You have to pay for parking here as well.

Excellent views from the viewpoint. The staff at the visitor centre were very pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe. The good weather allowed us to use the outside tables which we enjoyed very much in the early Autumn sunshine.👍

What a view! Fantastic. The café is also worth a visit. Decent cakes and a nice cup of coffee. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly too. So you can eat in and not have to dodge the wasps 🤣 Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Beautiful view point, it is a must see place if you round this area. Easy walk from the carpark. Only a few minutes it takes. Nice coffee to grab something to eat or drink.

Queen’s View is definitely worth visiting! The views of Loch Tummel are absolutely stunning, and it’s an easy, short walk to the viewpoint. When we visited, it wasn’t crowded. There’s a lovely small café and gift shop nearby—just remember to pay for parking.

Nice cafe and lovely staff. Real shame about the £3 car parking charge. There is no real warning about payment untill you enter the car park and the camera captures your reg immediately so you can't turn around.

Beautiful Forrest walk with an amazing light installation exhibition. We went in the day, so clearly not showing the lights off, at their best. No litter anywhere, clean toilets and good parking.

Excellent evening of enchantment. Adults and kids in tow, everyone loved the experience. Was concerned about ticket cost. However, slick Q system for shuttle bus there and back. Beautiful sound and light exhibitions throughout made it all worth while. Well done to all evolved, especially the wonderful team on site, guiding you and helping where needed. Hat off to you all

Went during enchanted forest and I can not recommend it enough 2nd year in a row me and my fiancèe have visited each years its different and its for charity and great causes. Walk in woods in all is great during day or night its going be good. Will be back next year and the woods itself go walk and enjoy. For the enchanted forest its for good causes and fun for the famil plenty of food and stalls seating take your time walk slow and enjoy.

As part of my 60th birthday presents, my daughter's had arranged to take me to see The Enchanted Forest. It was my 1st time and totally loved it. My daughter's had been before to see the event, which they totally loved, and to check how disabled friendly it actually was. With being disabled they had bought a ticket for disabled parking and they said it was so much easier doing this than getting on a bus in Pitlochry. The Stewards/staff were so very helpful and friendly. A couple of times when we had stopped to watch an attraction, they would approach us and speak to me asking how I was enjoying the experience etc. which was very nice. Last year when my daughter's went (it was raining) and they found a few parts of the walk slippery. But this year, I had no issues with the walkways. One Steward explained that from the money raised from previous year's they reinvest money back into the Event and they had upgraded the walkways 😊.. which meant that 1/2 way round when the rain came on this year, there was no slippery parts of the path while finishing the experience. I would totally recommend this event to anyone, especially people with mobility issues 😊. I've found a few (while being on holiday) have stated Disable friendly but were not exactly 100% easy to do/use/experience. Definitely no issues at The Enchanted Forest, Pitlochry 😊.

Had previously visited at night as The Enchanted Forest. We were looking for somewhere local to visit that wasn't too long or hard a walk for me. It's such a beautiful and tranquil place at this time of year.

A very interesting visit, the walk on the dam wall has astonishing views of the river and the salmon ladder is a clever way to compensate the intrusion in their ecosystem. A visit to the visitors centre puts everything in context while you enjoy a nice coffee with a view, worth the visit!

My favourite place to stroll around in the autumn. Love to sit on the balcony with a soup, admiring the colours of autumn. The dam is a very old hydroplant, one of the oldest in Scotland - still fully functional with a fish tunnel for our salmons coming back home. Worth a visit for an afternoon.

Very nice place, easy to walk true, include a few steps so need to be careful if you have a older person or disabled. Good to see the fish ladder and the live camera footage. Didn't see anything while was there but still nice, and belive a few lucky people see the salmons passing.

Beautiful view of the river and dam, modern and informative hands-on exhibits, clean bathrooms, cafe and gift shop make this a fantastic stop. You can stay 20 minutes or 2 hours at your own pace.

Not quite what we expected! We thought it would be more based on the Dam and indeed Dam’s in general in Scotland. It had a lower museum area with an informative film about building Dam’s but no where near as much as I personally thought it would. Large cafe and gift shop of course!! Seating outside to view the Dam and a 100 step pathway (literally down steps which were even) down to the level of the water. Plenty of parking spaces and disabled parking spaces available. Toilets inside and disabled toilets. Full disability access throughout with a lift to the lower floor. As I say pleasant but not as much history and information as we personally would have liked….and I must add staff rather standoffish which is rare for Scotland I feel. As a side point the walkway over the Dam was currently closed when we visited which was no fault of the visitor centre but was disappointing

Pitlochry Dam is an absolute must-visit! The recent upgrades have made viewing the incredible salmon run so much easier and more engaging. The new facilities offer fantastic, clear views of the salmon battling upstream, making for an unforgettable experience. It's a wonderful blend of natural wonder and engineering marvel, perfect for all ages. Highly recommended!

Interesting pace to visit with information boards and interactive exhibition. Free entry and free parking (smallish carpark). Cafe is excellent (recommend the haggis pizza) and nice wee shop too

This cafe's toilet was great. It was very spaceous and clean. It had the basics (toilet paper, soap and a working lock) and it was free. After washing your hands, you even have a choice. They both have paper towels and an air blower. The reason why I'm only giving them 4 stars is because there were only 2 toilets. One for men and one for everyone (including disabled people and it had a baby changing table).

Very nice little coffee shop well worth a visit. Excellent pastries, perfect cappuccino, friendly staff. They went above and beyond by warming the banana cinnamon loaf -- yummy!

I really loved this place! Perfect for a cozy lunch on a dreich day as very colourful inside with local artwork to purchase. Best Cullen Skink I've had in years -- could tell it was freshly made. Cakes were lovely, flat white coffee very good. Generous portions for everything, so I thought prices were reasonable. I plan to go back.

Cafe Calluna in Pitlochry is the perfect retreat for travellers craving charm and comfort. Tucked into 90 Atholl Road, its warm and cosy interior—decked out with vintage furniture, fairy lights and quirky décor—instantly makes you feel at home. The menu is a delight: homemade soups, sourdough sandwiches, freshly baked cakes, and excellent coffee (locally roasted Glen Lyon beans) cater for all tastes. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Dog-friendly too, so paws are welcome! Whether you’re stopping for a quick pick-me-up or lingering over an afternoon tea, it’s a gem not to be missed.

A very friendly little place, not too many tables, and really good service. A pleasant atmosphere to sit in. Coffee was tasty! Their story on the menu mentions that most of their food is locally sourced, so big bonus points for that. Dog friendly, very friendly! Their toilets have a wall of polaroids of dogs that have visited which is just fantastic Only reason for food being rated 4/5 is that their lunch choices felt quite limited. The food itself was good

this would have been a nice place if the sub heated sausage rolls that me and the wife had didn't give us mild food poisoning, so beware and make sure the food is hot. the wife was sick in toilet in the cafe and i was ill within 10 mins of leaving and had to visit the toilet at the bus terminus. also several stops along the route home to loch awe.

The high rating didn’t lie - it is really delicious Indian food! The portions aren’t that big but they are really well made! And our female waitress was so sweet and helpful. They also have a very well assorted gin bar whichever loved - just be aware that they charge 9-10£ for 2,5 cl of gin! 😳 The good thing is that you can sit outside and enjoy your GT and enjoy the landscape. Remember to book in advance to avoid being fully booked.

We booked in the restaurant under recommendation and were not disappointed. We took a tiffin which is a condensation of several dishes and it was incredible (it justified the price and it was for 2 people). The waitress was very kind and recommended dishes that were not too spicy and did not hesitate to answer our questions. The atmosphere is very cosy, the lights are dim and the music is good without being too present. I recommend it!

We are vegetarians and honestly had some of the best North Indian food we’ve ever tried in the UK at Cidsin Restaurant in Pitlochry. The flavors were authentic, rich, and absolutely amazing – a real treat if you’re visiting the area and craving high-quality Indian food. A special mention to Nicky, who looked after us during our visit. She was wonderful – friendly, attentive, and gave us excellent recommendations that turned out to be perfect! Every dish she suggested was spot on, and we loved them all. Thank you, Nicky, for making our experience even better! We’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend this place if you want proper Indian food in Scotland – take my word for it and try Cidsin.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, location, food was amazing breakfast and dinner. We were shown and explained the menu at tea time and the various authentic Indian Food from Aliket. He was so friendly, professional and knowledgable. The food he recommended was truly beautiful. I have never tasted such beautiful food. The staff, the hotel, the rooms and the views and gardens were absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend 100%

I traveled up to Pitlochry from Glasgow with my mother specifically to eat at this place, having eaten here a few years ago with my wife. It did not disappoint. This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have eaten at in Scotland. Totally unique and authentic flavours, perfectly balanced and presented beautifully. I can't wait to be back, the people of Pitlochry don't know how lucky they are

Absolutely superb food, service and setting. The food was like nothing we've tasted before. It is completely focused on flavour rather and the food simply melts in your mouth.

We arrived very late, after the kitchen had officially closed, but the wonderfully kind staff kindly asked the chefs if they could still prepare some takeaway meals for us — and they did. This kind gesture alone already made a lasting impression. While waiting, we took in the stylish and cosy interior, and couldn't help but marvel at the extensive whisky selection behind the bar. The waiter, noticing our curiosity, asked if we'd like to learn more – and we surely did! He gave us a warm and insightful introduction into the world of Scotch whisky, even teaching us the proper way to nose and sip it. Back at our accommodation, the food absolutely floored us. This was not your typical takeaway – the flavours were rich and balanced, everything was carefully packed, and it was clear that a lot of pride goes into every detail. Easily the best takeaway we’ve ever had. All in all, Cidsin managed to deliver one of the most delightful dining experiences we've had in a long while – and we didn’t even sit down for a meal! Hats off tae the whole team.

Fantastic venue. The surrounding grounds are beautiful. The Explorers garden worth a visit too. We went to see The 39 Steps. Brilliant, highly recommend. The 4 actors playing all different characters. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Absolutely lovely and so fun. An intimate stage experience with talented artists and a wonderful story. The building is clean and bright and modern in a storied landscape and garden that is entirely walkable and photo-worthy. Head over early to enjoy a leisurely stroll, a cup of tea or coffee, or a dram. The gift shop is worth perusing. Bathrooms are gendered rooms with stalls.

Lovely theatre. Easy to get to. Good toilet facilities. Lovely choice in the cafeteria. Good views. You also have a lovely garden to explore next door and not far from the dam.

Just saw 'A Toast Fae The Lassies' at Pitlochry theatre studio and it was magnificent! The acting was excellent and the singing outstanding. The musicianship was first class. The intimacy of the Pitlochry theatre studio helped, but the show deserves a national audience. Well done everyone involved, well done Pitlochry Festival Theatre!

Lovely place! Good sized shop with some gorgeous items. Beautiful theatre. Please though - more women's toilets! We saw the Great Gatsby. The cast were phenomenal.

Stumbled in to the first night of Nan Shepard and it was absolutely delightful! The audience even sang a Scottish song together. She was quite a wonderful person who is no longer lost to history. Great production! So glad I got to see it! 😁

Nice place on the way to Pitlochry dam site. There are some walking trails through the man made forest.

We had a fantastic experience at Blair Castle, the castle and gardens were all absolutely stunning and well maintained. The castle one way system really helped to see everything and it was well curated, each room highlighting a limited time period or individual family member. The gardens, especially the shady forest area, looked incredible on a blazing hot day. Walking under the massive trees to the sound of the piper was atmospheric to say the least. Well worth the price to help maintain this magnificent place.

I don’t know how we’ve missed this place on past trips. It’s incredible. We only did the grounds and could have easily spent a day just on the grounds. The tall trees are breathtaking. The garden was still interesting, even though it’s starting to head into dormancy. You truly need a few hours to really explore everything. There is a nice children’s play area too. We will definitely plan for a full day there on our next trip!

We went here for the Highland Games in May 2025. It was a fantastic venue. The crowds were awesome. The castle army is the only one left in the United Kingdom. They were amazing. Their band, uniforms, and professionalism were amazing. Beautiful castle with the Highland mountains surrounding it. It’s a beautiful place.

We very much enjoyed the Blair castle. It was a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the castle but it was well worth it. The inside of the castle was completely furnished and had people in rooms that could tell you about its contents and the people that once lived there. The gardens were Immaculate and beautiful.

Blair castle is a lovely place, you self tour the castle. There is highland coo's, deer, adventure playground, cafe, toilets , plenty of parking, piper plays on the hour, deer feeding at 12:30 and 14:30, lots of walks , lovely gardens and sculpture trail , staff very helpful and pleasant .

Came here with our English Bulldog to spend a nice afternoon. And indeed we did. The earliest known part of the present castle dates from 1269. In 1740 the 2nd Duke began his transformation of the medieval castle into a Georgian house. A remodel to the exterior of the castle happened in the 1860s/70s. Later on architects Jamie Troughton and Hugh Broughton constructed a new exhibition hall known as the Banvie Hall. And that's now how the Castle stands here until today. We did book the admission to the Park and Grounds online and saved some money. There were a good number of visitors, but no problem finding a parking space - there's plenty of it only a short stroll from the castle. Admission with 9.50£ was a very fair deal. We were just in time to listen to the bagpipes, which were played hourly (until a certain time). Very nice - we love bagpipes. And to sit there on the bench, listening and with the Blair Castle in the background was just a wonderful moment. Then we went to the Deer Park, watching the wildlife. Then through the woods and Diana's Grove. A nice trail through the forest, with some nice creeks and a beautiful little bridge. Then onto St. Bride's Kirk. From there to the Blair Castle Gardens. Then back again to the Castle. Suprisingly few visitors along the paths. Really wonderful grounds here. Nice walks - nice nature and landscape. The Castle is pretty and the park offers nice ways and paths to spend some hours here. Also of course a restaurant, a shop, a nice playground and toilets. We really had a great time here. Dogs allowed on the grounds was a great thing. A real good visit, well worth the fair-priced admission.

Lovely castle where dukes and dignitaries would meet in times gone by. Beautiful architecture. Fully of history. There is so much to see inside and outside. Feeding the red deer and seeing Highland coos up close was special. I can recommend it for either half a day or a.whole day if you want to go on some gentle walks. play area for children noted also.

An excellent bakery and one of the few places open before 9am!! I got the brie and mango chutney roll and it was excellent!

Lovely little bakery tucked away behind Main Street in Pitlochry. Delicious goods. We had the pepperoni pizza, filled focaccia bread and danish pastry. Also bought a tin loaf to takeaway. All excellent. Friendly service. Seemed popular with the locals as well.

I was incredibly lucky to stumble upon this magical bakery at 11.45am this morning. Their pizza comes out at 12, I had the first slice. My life is forever changed. The finely sliced mushrooms, onions and courgettes are perfectly arranged for optimal tastiness. The pizza slice looks long, so your first thought may be “ it will have a soggy wet dough.” But No my friends.. this dough is crispy throughout!!! Every bite is just a reminder that artistry exists, and they make pizzas in this bakery. Thank you SO much!

The focaccia bread is INCREDIBLE!! We passed through Pitlochry taking an hour to enjoy the town and we stopped in for some coffee. When we saw the fresh baked goods I knew I had to try something. I love focaccia bread but this was the best I've ever had! Chef's kiss!

Best lunch in Scotland. Such a warm welcome from fantastic staff, who provided great service, and even better food. The seafood linguine was better than some I've had in Italy... the Korean chicken waffle was so unusual and one of the best dishes on the menu. It's not too spicy, equal parts spicy and sweet, and the fish and chips were too good. The kids menu was also very good, lots of options and cooked brilliantly. Perfect stop for small, weary travellers. There's seating outside, which is beautiful. Inside is charming and also dog friendly if the weather is not on your side. Accessibility wise, it's not the easiest as there's no car park, you have to park on street or use a car park in town and walk over the foot bridge or walk quite a way to get there. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. 10/10 recommend! 🙌

Amazing atmosphere, so beautiful restaurant, but the garden/outdoor seats are very cute as well. Beautiful view over the river,too. We ordered fish and chips and we loved it. Very delicious. And last but not least, the staff were absolutely amazing, so nice and friendly. We definitely recommend it.

Had an absolutely wonderful meal here to celebrate a 40th birthday. Attentive staff together with a cosy ambience and excellent food made for a perfect evening. Food arrived quickly and settling the bill was also dealt with promptly. It’s dog friendly too so that’s a huge plus when travelling with a 4-legged friend! The seasonal pumpkin decorations outside added an extra special aesthetic to the place. I found it utterly charming and will definitely return.

I tried this restaurant and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing, with the river view right next to the tables – a setting that perfectly complements the meal. As for the menu, in the main courses section I mostly found fish & chips, a tasty and well-cooked dish, but it would have been great to see more fish-based options, especially considering the lively river just nearby. 😊 The other main dishes are varied, but for fish lovers, a wider selection would definitely be a plus. P.S.: If you can’t find enough fish options on the menu, don’t worry – you’ll surely find more in the river next to it! 🐟

Stumbled across this place while on a walk down by the river and ended up having the most perfect lunch. Staff were so kind and welcoming, everything on the menu looked delicious, will definitely be back to sample more.

We came here with a party of three for dinner on a Friday night with no reservation and had the chicken liver pate, pumpkin ravioli, ribeye steak and stuffed chicken breast, plus dessert, all very tasty.

They were able to accommodate a group of 8 (including 4 kids) at the last minute. The food was delicious, the staff kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was superb. Probably the best meal we had with kids (including our time at home in the states) and definitely the most high end, homey atmosphere we experienced in Scotland.

I'd say my review is more of a 4.5 star. The staff was incredible and made you feel like family - particularly the concierges Stephen and Mark, as well as, the bartender, Oliver (Ollie). Shout out to Ollie for making THE BEST cocktails as well. The food was VERY good, but the service was quite slow whether it was dinner or breakfast. Also, it wasn't always accurate. Seems like each meal there was something forgotten. The rooms could also use a re-fresh and tidy. All that being said, I would absolutely stay there again. The setting on the loch is idyllic and it was a very wonderful stay!

If this is Fonab’s idea of a “tranquil spa experience,” I’d hate to see their version of chaos. My boyfriend and I paid £120 and drove an hour and a half for what was meant to be four hours of peace and relaxation and got about 30 minutes before it turned into a children’s pool party. A man and two kids came charging in to the pool/jacuzzi area with water toys and guns, shouting and splashing it honestly felt more like our local leisure centre pool than a luxury spa. When I complained, the receptionist basically shrugged and said, “He’s a member, there’s nothing we can do,” and apparently, this is a weekly occurrence every Sunday morning. So much for a relaxing spa, more like family fun hour! To be fair, we were told the outdoor hot tubs weren’t in use but we still paid full price, which only added to the disappointment. On top of that, the spa itself is looking very tired and clearly in need of some serious maintenance and care. We left after an hour, money wasted, morning ruined. It then took over a week for anyone to respond and a ridiculous seven weeks of chasing emails to finally get my refund. Overall, completely misleading, poorly managed, and nowhere near the “luxury tranquil escape” they advertise. Save yourself the disappointment as there’s nothing relaxing about this place except leaving it.

Nice hotel and the surroundings are lovely. Staff tried really hard to show that they are a higher class hotel. Our woodland lodge was nice but had a funny smell when walking in and was really cold but soon warmed up when putting the radiators on. No air conditioning so when room gets hot the only way to cool down was a £5 small fan which was disappointing. Nice enough room but not worth the money paid for the night as I travel a lot and can compare. Love the Spa area and the pool, so big plus and the lady colleague there was very pleasant The bar area was disappointing. I asked for a IPA that I buy at Tescos for £1.70 and was charged £9 plus 15% service charge. £10.50 for a low quantity Joker IPA !!!!!??? I understand prices be higher in a nice hotel but you would expect a higher quality products. 15 % service charge is not great. The price wasn’t on the menu for that product so in fairness i should have asked but never thought they would charged that. Tried to put a charity charge on my bill which I am ok with depending on the charity, if I had been asked the ok but not just putting in on about when it’s about saving trees! so that annoyed me. I would paid it if I was asked!! Overall I enjoyed my visit and the hotel and I would recommend to visit if you get a deal but with the value for what I got compared to other hotels then I would have to think hard before I go again but if there was a discount then I would consider. Keep up the good work and revisit your prices as you might get more volume rather than trying to push high margin. Pay premium prices then your products and food need to be top notch, not just because your classing yourself as a high class hotel

rating based on price - beautiful setting, and felt special/fancy. a few notes: given the caliber of hotel was somewhat surprised by what felt like slight understaffing (for instance, had to wait 20 min in the lounge and notify people we were there before anyone showed up to take order for afternoon tea; no one at breakfast when we arrived; longish wait to check in behind just one person because no one else was working the desk, no one available to drive us to the train station with our luggage etc). with that said, fantastic views, everything high quality, pool and hot tubs were lovely, worth a visit if affordable and def feels like a treat

This five star review is really for Concierge David who really gave great service. He picked us up from the train station and made my mom smile and laugh several times. This was worth more than the stay for me since we had recently lost my father. Anything that could make her happy made me happy. Also when anything was amiss in our room he was always the one to show up! A jack of all trades. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to change during my stay to give him a tip directly and wanted to show my appreciation by letting everyone know that he really is a big part of what makes Fonab a 5-star hotel.

Magical setting, third tier wildly overpriced hotel with service ranging from acceptable to laughable. Has to be reviewed contemplating cost and the relative value is very poor. Average smallish rooms, shower water pressure lacking with all other elements unremarkable. You’re staying in a nice house by a river for the price of a stunning castle. The service in the restaurant suggested that the entire staff had been under trained with tableware loudly laid down and removed. Main course delivered with the mumbled announcement of “ cod”. They were going through the motions. We had stayed at a real castle the night before that literally couldn’t be compared for the same price. The

Our stay at Fonab Castle was an absolute highlight of our trip. We were fortunate to stay in the penthouse suite, which was stunning — spacious, luxurious, and with incredible views. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond. They were attentive, genuinely friendly, and even provided us with a ride into town, which was such a thoughtful touch. The spa experience was fabulous. We enjoyed relaxing massages, swam in the pool, and spent time in the hot tub — the perfect way to unwind. We also loved exploring the grounds, especially the hike along the river to the loch, which was both beautiful and so much fun. Throughout our stay, the staff made excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. Every interaction felt personal and warm, making us feel truly cared for. Fonab Castle combines luxury, comfort, and incredible hospitality. We can’t recommend it highly enough and would return in a heartbeat.

There is a reason the Loft has been voted best restaurant in Scotland and featured in so many good food reviews. The food is sublime and the service friendly. Our party of four had an evening meal tonight. The duck was succulent and tender, My venison was cooked to perfection and well complemented by a rich cherry sauce. Two of our party had the cod loin, big flakes of cod perfectly cooked . All our vegetables were steamed to perfection. The servers were attentive and friendly as were the owners. The food here was absolutely phenomenal! I had the lamb and it came out perfectly. Everything on the plate was delicious and complimented each other wonderfully. The service was excellent and we received our food in a perfectly timely manner. I also ordered the creme brulee for dessert, and this was utterly divine. Overall, a perfect place for a lovely meal. The decor was lovely and made you feel right at home. I strongly reccomend coming here for one of the best meals you're going to have.

Came today for our 6th Wedding anniversary. Food and service was superb as always. We had the loft cater for our Wedding Reception and had a wonderful time. Food is always superb and that is why we travel up from Derby every year just to eat here and see the wonderful staff again.

The Loft in Blair Atholl is a true gem! The warm, inviting atmosphere and stunning views are matched only by the delicious food. Every dish is a testament to fresh, local ingredients. A perfect spot for a memorable and cozy dining experience.

This was a return visit to The Loft which we visited before when staying in Blair Atholl. It is a lovely restaurant, the atmosphere is calm and not noisy even though other diners are chatting. The service is wonderful and you are made to feel very welcome. The food is fantastic with a difference in choice which makes a change to other places and it always comes beautifully presented. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Amazing food and really friendly service! An easy 5 stars and would definitely return. The Haggis was the best I’ve ever had. And the stew was soooo good!

Our guide, Cameron, was fantastic—he really made the experience. His mix of humor and knowledge created a relaxed atmosphere while still delivering plenty of interesting facts. Walking through the production areas and distillery gave us a much deeper understanding of the process. Cameron also made sure everyone understood how whisky is made—his explanation of the process chart was simple, clear, and spot-on. The tour length was just right—enough time to cover everything without feeling too long. The whisky tasting at the end was well-balanced, and we appreciated the small bottles provided for our designated driver. The gift glasses were a lovely touch. We stayed to chat with Cameron afterward in the Gift Shop and chose the 12-year single malt, which was our favorite. Overall, it was a fun and engaging experience.

I recently visited Blair Athol Distillery, and it was an absolute highlight of my trip to Scotland. The tour was to the point but super informative, Cat answered all our questions like a true pro and the whiskey was bangin' - but mostly their team is just so kind. My brother was having back issues, so I went down early to ask if there was stool we could borrow during the tour. Someone from their team actually went through the whole distillery to make sure there was a chair in every room for him. So not just great whiskey, but also great people. We had a wonderful afternoon 🤍 (Also, try the highball at the bar! Delicious craftsmanship 👌🏻)

Very old brewery now owned by a mega corp. Small but interesting equipment that gives a good idea of the processes involved in making Scotch whiskey. Your guide was affable and pleasant. Whiskey was very good but not great. Certainly the tour was a good value and a fun way to learn about whiskey

We had a wonderful experience at the Blair Athol Whisky Distillery. María, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, explaining the process in a clear and engaging way. We tasted three different whiskies, discovering their unique aromas and undertones. The distillery itself is cosy and full of charm — overall, a fantastic experience that we highly recommend. PS: The whiskey barrel chocolates were wonderful 😋

On our way back to Edinburgh we stopped at Blair Athol Distillery. Perfect way to enjoy a very well done and friendly tour of the distillery with a super cool, friendly and knowledgeable guide. A great place for some very unique jewellery in a beautifully laid out shop setting but this has the added attraction of seeing how the jewellery is made from collecting the heather stalks through the various stages up to the finising layer of lacquer by way of a small exhibition area , well worth a visit

Bought a ring at Braemar when I was touring the highlands. The stone fell off on my second day of wearing it. Customer service was brilliant. They got back to me immediately and paid for postage to send the ring back to their warehouse. They sent me a new ring to my home address (outside of the UK). They cleared the custom charges as well.

I loved the little exhibition about how the jewelry was made and the products they make are gorgeous! The staff was also very friendly.

Awesome whiskey tasting!!! They have a set of preselect flights that you can do, however, I wanted certain styles (eg ex bourbon cask, medium peat, etc) that I prefer and they were willing to accommodate. They are knowledgeable and the prices are good.

We were here on Sept 1st, 2023. I thought it was one of the best Whisky Tasting experience I've had. John was awesome and passionate and thus made our overall experience that much better. They are very flexible & accommodative and have great selections.

We participated in a tasting. We got so much more. The knowledge Ewan generously shared with us was amazing. He is very kind and professional. Highly recommend stopping in to his shop. If you have the time, ask about their tastings. I was impressed!!

30 years ago I would have made a trip to Pitlochry just to visit Robertson’s. It WAS in my opinion the best whisky shop in the country. Now it’s changed direction focusing on tastings. Whilst I think this has diminished the shop, I get it, but for me who loved to Just browse the vast range, it is definitely not as good as it was. I am however sure it will offer a great experience to those looking to learn more about whisky. Thanks Ewan for taking the time to respond.

We had been absolutely exhausted after a long hike in Glencoe. Despite us being 1hr late with traffic they kept our booking kindly and I’m so happy they did! The venue is stunning, elegant and cozy with an infectious atmosphere. The food…sublime! Mouthwatering, diverse options and excellent value. Ended with the best tiramisu I’ve ever had and a delicious local Aberfeldy whiskey. Our waitress was very attentive and warm; she even gave us tips on whiskey drinking! Will definitely be visiting again :)

We had originally planned to dine elsewhere, but since their kitchen was closed, we decided to try this restaurant instead—and we’re so glad we did! It turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food truly stood out. We ordered the halloumi burger, fish and chips, and a Greek salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and arrived very quickly. Highly recommended!

Had to make a distress stop on our LEJOG journey with an ailing bottom bracket. The guys couldn;t replace it because of exotic parts but workshop man did a great patch-up at short notice which definitely got me to John o'Groats. Thank you!!!

Tried here as our last stop before driving home from holiday. It was raining, so we wanted somewhere to sit in. There is seating indoor and outdoor, the outdoor seating is covered over, so you can still sit out if it's rainy but warm! There were 7 of us, so we got sat together inside at a large bench. You order and pay at the counter, with meals then brought out to you. The staff were lovely and chatty and happy. At first glance, we thought some of the menu was priced slightly high. It was near £9 for a sandwich.... but... When the sandwiches came out, wow, they were like doorstops!! Overflowing with filling, they come in a large bowl with tortilla and a lovely fresh salad, the bread was so thick, gorgeous and soft! I also ordered a scone, which was huge! Maybe that was a mistake without knowing how big the sandwiches were going to be! Haha! Overall, we all absolutely enjoyed our food and thought the service was great! We will definitely be back next time we are in town! 5*

Loved everything about this cafe! Atmosphere, coffee, flavourful food and the service. Lovely steak ciabatta, fries were so well cooked and flavoured and slad dressing was top notch. My partner had a pizza and it was good too. Definitely coming back when in area.

Nice little cafe with wonderful selection of bakes. Simple wooden tables and metal chairs so not the most plush place, but staff are very friendly. Marked parking on the road right outside. Ramp into cafe with double doors so wheelchair friendly but not a nonslip floor in the disabled toilet. Connected to Escape Route bike shop

Excellent service! I’m cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats. Had a few issues with my bike including my brakes! Pulled into Escape Route and the team there had it all sorted. I was soon back on the road, really friendly helpful team. Many thanks guys.

We rented three e-bikes and took a 30 mile trip to glen tilt. Kevin was professional, kind and accommodating— when we arrived later than expected and asked to change our reservations to the next day, we expected to pay for the privilege, but Kevin not only allowed us to switch but also suggested we take the bikes that afternoon so we could get an early start the next day. The scenery was unbelievable and the bikes were finely tuned and a pleasure to ride. 100% amazing experience! We’ll be back!

Gorgeous walk, enthralling experience watching salmon. Could've spent hours here.

It's an interesting feature to allow salmon up past the dam, but they only come up once a year, round about October so don't expect to see anything any other time. There are explanation boards at the bottom of the ladder and a walkway up the side with a bridge over it to get a full view.

Every time we have a holiday in Pitlochry, we always visit the Fish Ladder, it's brilliant with or without seeing the salmon. It's amazing when the dam is in flood. The views are wonderful & you can get some fabulous photos. Looking forward to visiting the Pitlochry Fish Ladder next year

Great walk alongside the river and over the dam. Fantastic views. Lovely town to walk through with plenty of refreshment stops. Easily accessible by car or train.

An Ingeneous set of pools designed that the salmon will swim up round the side of the Pitlochry dam , they swim through pipes in the bottom of the pools so they will unlikely be spotted jumping , a display at the bottom of the slope illustrates the lifestyle of the Atlantic salmon and points out the various stages of its life cycle

I really enjoy these types of places, so I can't complain, but may be a bit boring for others. Didn't see any salmon out of the water as the "ladder" has been designed so the swim underneath the surface. There is a live cam feed at the bottom of the river embankment, which was cool to see them actually going through. Free to visit so definitely worth a neb.

A very nice Italian restaurant on the main road of Pitlochry. This hotel was recommended by the owner of the hotel we were staying at. He recommended to make a reservation as it would get full quickly. Maybe it was the time ofthe year, but we felt it was not needed. There were plenty of spaces available. As always, better to get a reservation. We had pasta dishes, a beer and a wine. The pairing was good and the pasta were excellent. A definite return if I get a chance. We sat in the patio, just off the road. We people watched as we ate, which was fun. The staff were friendly, service was quick and the food came hot. Overall, an amazing place to end your day after roaming around Pitlochry main road and the dam.

Great lunch! Steak and Ale pie as well as Club Sandwich with butternut squash soup were great. Thr best meal we had while staying in Pitlochry.

I am Scottish and I came up here on a private tour with some clients. I stopped here for a working lunch and the food is of extremely high quality. Their isn’t many establishments that will serve you ayshire bacon and stornoway black pudding as part of a Scottish breakfast. Coffee beans they use are very good and I ended up having 3 cafe lattes.

First time visiting Pitlochry. As we were driving to avimore. Stopped off for some lunch . . Found this restaurant . Wasn't really busy as it was just 12 o'clock in the afternoon . Got a table for 6 . Was given water which was a nice touch . . We all ordered more or less the same from the menu .4 fish and chips . 2 stk pie and potato's..the meal was absolutely lovely. .what I would say is the prices are a bit steep when you've to pay £44 for 2 fish teas . . Infact all of us paid the same amount for a 1 course meal. I work in a 4 star hotel and we don't ask our customers to pay these kind of prices. .

4.5 stars here. After some deep research of the options in Pitlochry, we chose Victoria’s for its menu variety-Scottish, Italian, Latin, etc. We were not disappointed. There is a nice flower rimmed patio here that would have been our preference but alas Scottish weather did not cooperate. Interior basic tables and chairs. Attentive service much appreciated. A number of Scottish cuisine dishes caught my eye while perusing the menu. We picked Garlic Bread to start, mainly due to the fact that across the board we have enjoyed amazing breads while in Scotland. Though it could have had more garlic flavor, the bread was delicious. My DW was not overly hungry so she chose the Beetroot and Goat Cheese salad. This was pronounced delicious and mention was made of the mild, not too robust, flavor of the cheese. Scottish lamb-Roast Rump of Perthshire Lamb-was my choice. Served with ratatouille & dauphinoise potatoes, both of which I felt were truly outstanding. The potatoes especially were an excellent compliment to the lamb. I was pleasantly surprised how the flavor of the lamb was much less “gamey” than most of my past experiences. The unctuous flavor was eye opening and the red wine jus added deep flavor to the dish. Loved it. We skipped dessert here for the ice cream shop down the street. If you visit Pitlochry, be advised that the tourist busses can flood the town day and evening so if you want to visit Victoria’s, best to make a reservation. Highly recommended.

The food at Victoria Restaurant in was really delicious and reasonably priced. Everything was served hot and very quickly. It was definitely worth it — I’ll absolutely come back again!

Staff very friendly. Prices quite fair. Good presentation lovely, but tasteless. My partner had fish which was over cooked and panko battered. I ordered duck- rubbery, served too cool and tasteless. The dauphenoise potatoes were poorly prepared scalloped. Would not eat here again.

When we entered we were greeted straight away and asked where we would to sit, asked what drinks and provided us with a menu. Staff were very attentive, friendly and we had great conversation about our day as well as the employee taking our photo which was an extra nicety. Pancakes were great but are cold on arrival, lovely taste and texture but my daughter stated her bacon was far too overcooked and didn’t eat it which was a shame, overall a quiet quaint restaurant which was quite enjoyable after a manic morning

Great place (recommended by a friend) to give yourself the right energy to start your very pleasant visit to Pitlochry. I had the chance to taste the typical Scottish Breakfast in a vegetarian version, the sausages tasted great! The coffee was good (I'm Italian) and the service friendly, I will definitely return there on the occasion of the Enchanted Forest. 😍

Excellent food, and served in around 10 mins from order. Staff friendly and courteous. Photos show our lunch. I had the haggis dish, my partner the goats cheese and black pudding. Good value (£10 per person) Atmosphere is hard to rank objectively but the restaurant was clean and well presented.

This place is on the main road of Pitlochry. The the food was quite good in taste, and arrived without being unnecessarily delayed. Our server was actually quite courteous and fast. However - the lady at the bar, who seemed to control everything, was quite curt and insulting to the curstomers! I do not know what their usual timings are, but the day we were there, she made someone close the restaurant before it was 7pm even! Considering that all the other 3 restaurants in close vicinity are open and serving customers till past 9 pm, this was surprising. (We left without getting any desert, and went to the CoOp for buying some chocolate off the shelf just to finish our meal). The rating here would have been like 2 stars if it wasn't for our actual server who we could see was trying his absolute best to do everything quickly and courteously. (We heard him ask this lady why they were closing at 7!)

The restaurant is very cozy and has a lovely conservatory (probably need booking). The food was delicious too. We ordered the soup of the day and chefs special’s salmon spaghetti that came with the tastiest garlic bread. Although it was quite pricey but the portion was filling. Staff were nice but could have been a little more attentive as we waited a long time to order.

Loved the pizza, garlic bread and the strawberry milk shake. The lady at the reception greeted us with a great smile and while paying the bill the Man had a big smile as well ☺️. Overall It was amazing experience dining in. Service was fast.

We had cream of broccoli soup and Late, staff were very helpful. We were offered water for the dog and a treat. So yes very dog friendly and very helpful and polite staff. Nice soup and coffee. Recommend.

An absolute gem of a find in Pitlochry. We stopped in Pitlochry on our drive down the A9 purposely to try the Garden Cafe and were delighted when they had a table available to sit in. The cafe was busy with constant trade of tourists and locals - always a great sign when the locals are regulars. Although it was busy, the service was friendly and attentive. For our Saturday brunch I ordered the French toast which has lovely presentation and was very tasty. My dining partner had the Eggs hollandaise with black pudding which she really enjoyed - do note their is a paprika kick which I am sure you could ask for without if you prefer. There was plenty of cakes on display which my companion got some to take away and enjoyed. We loved our brunch so much that when we were passing heading home northwards on the Sunday we stopped in again for lunch. I had planned on getting homemade soup because it looked incredible at other tables but as the flavour wasn't for me, I opted for the burger special which was a perfect option. My companion got a baked potato which gave her quite a shock at the plentiful portion. We left stuffed but with no regret as the food was delicious and filled us up all day!

Popped in for brunch on a sunny day (unplanned). It’s a great little spot, space is at a premium but if you like a cozy vibe this place has it with a modern twist. Food and service were great and the highest compliment I can make is to say I’d be back again.

Our tour had a stop in Pitlochry, and I made a beeline straight for the Garden Café Pitlochry — you were either with me or left in the dust. Anyone who followed was lucky to experience lunch at this charming little gem. Owner Ryan is the perfect front man — all smiles and genuine hospitality. He made us feel completely at home, like we were dining in his own kitchen. The Cullen skink was the best we’ve ever had; from the elegant presentation, you could tell it was going to be unforgettable — subtle, balanced flavors done just right. We also loved the passion behind creating such a warm, garden-like ambiance. A true hidden treasure in Pitlochry. Saluti!

A quick pit-stop at the lovely Garden Cafe this morning for a breakfast roll and Cappuccino. Lovely welcome, lovely atmosphere and decent food too. Look forward to visiting again for lunch or cake the next time we're in Pitlochry.

Amazing hotel and loved our stay with our wee dog. Felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Very friendly staff. Cheeseboard on arrival was excellent. Cocktails in the bar were very good with my favourite being the black spout. We had the 3 course menu which was excellent and a pleasant surprise given that the menu is quite ambiguous which we really loved. Made the meal exciting and great that you get what the kitchen is preparing that evening. Breakfast in the morning was also great and service brilliant. We stayed in the puffin room. Very comfortable and clean with everything you need. Very easy to get to all attractions in pitlochry and surrounding with the town centre a short walk away. My only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer and look forward to it next visit. Thanks for a great stay.

AMAZING stay at Saorsa 1875. We stayed for 5 nights in the hotel and had the most relaxing time. Food & Drink - absolutely incredible, and some of the best food I have ever eaten. The breakfasts were filling and a great way to set up your day, and the 5 course meal was incredibly inventive and flavourful. My meat eating partner was amazed by the flavours and textures in the food, and has considered veganism himself since our stay! The hotel lounge/bar is a very nice relaxed area, with some lovely cocktails! Service - couldn’t have asked for a better experience here. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming, and gave great recommendations for the local area. They all seemed very passionate about the hotel & food, which added to the experience. We were well looked after and felt a part of the Saorsa family by the time we left. Room - we stayed in their ‘Lynx’ room, which was a very spacious and well equipped room. The decor is modern but in-keeping with the style of the building, and the bed was super comfortable. Surroundings - the hotel itself had a lovely little woodland walk and outdoor seating areas that were very relaxing (when it wasn’t raining!). It’s only a short walk into Pitlochry town where you can spend a few hours shopping & dining. We ate at a few restaurants & pubs during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Of course there are many local walks and great views to be seen nearby. We will be back to stay at Saorsa any chance we get, and thoroughly recommend a visit - vegan or not!

A gorgeous vegan haven in a brilliant little town. Sandra is simply a wonderful host and lovely person. Saorsa 1875 has clean, stylish, and comfortable rooms. The grounds around the place are inviting and beautiful. I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel and my stay. Highly recommended!

A very pleasant experience. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere in the hotel . Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and beautifully prepared. The menu does not give a full picture of what the dishes are like so we were pleasantly surprised.We tried the mese board for an evening snack and this was outstanding.Prices are on the high side , but you're getting fresh organic and locally sourced ingredients. Our room was comfortable and restful.

As a vegan and animal rights advocate, I was so excited to find a hotel that aligned with my values and offered a fully plant-based experience. The commitment to being a vegan hotel is a huge plus and something I genuinely appreciate. The hotel itself has a wonderful concept, and the decor is charming and the woodland area is nice. However, our stay was unfortunately let down by a few key issues. The service felt distracted, and we had to wait to check in as the staff were too few and too busy, meaning that after a 7 hour journey we didn't feel very welcome. We were also disappointed by the small and slightly underwhelming breakfast offerings (my husband was served a very small pot of granola and an even smaller slice of toast with beans). While it's great to have a plant-based breakfast, the variety and portion size could be improved to match the hotel's high-end ambition. The breakfast is also not served until 8am, and as early risers, this is too late for us so we rushed in order to get back on the road. The biggest frustration was the unexpected overcharge for our two dogs. We believe a hotel with a strong vegan ethos would be more inclusive of animal companions. The hotel's response to our query felt dismissive and didn't align with the welcoming, compassionate spirit we expected. On the website it states the charge of £25 for dogs, not per dog or per stay, and on querying a charge of £50 for one night bringing our dogs, I was told this was my error as I hadn't booked for two. There was no way to add extra dogs when we booked, and I hadn't even considered they would apply this charge twice. Additionally, the noise from other guests and music from the bar late into the night was quite disruptive, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep when we had another long drive the next day. All in all we were at the hotel for just over 12 hours, there was nothing special to make it welcoming for our dogs, so the £50 charge felt very unfair and unclear. Overall, while the hotel's core values are fantastic and the idea of a vegan hotel is something I fully support, the execution fell short on several fronts. With more attentive service, improved breakfast options, and a more compassionate approach to animal companions, this hotel could truly be a standout destination.

Great vegan Hotel in an old building, but modernly refurbished, with a sense for details. We had a great stay here, a fantastic vegan 5 course dinner and a yummy 2 course breakfast. The rooms are cosy, although you can hear quite a bit through the wall/door. The water pressure is on the lower end for showering. But when you keep in your mind it is an old building, this is not surprising and it did not really bother us. Friendly and attentive staff.
