Port de Cassis

Marina
Port de Cassis is a charming and picturesque harbor filled with brightly colored buildings and fishing boats. The area offers car-free streets, perfect for leisurely strolls among pastel-painted buildings, colorful shutters, cobbled streets, and vibrant plant-filled pots. From the port, visitors can embark on excursions to the essential calanques of Port Pin and En Vau after a scenic hike from Calanque de Port Miou.
Incredible little coastal town. Having been in the "out of season" I can highly recommend it for the amazing scenery and bright beaches with beautiful waves crashing about everywhere. Personally it is the town's proximity within the Calanques mountain range that makes this place feel so special. Be careful heading there in the midst of summer however, as being familiar with the likes of St Ives in Cornwall, it's plain to see a small town that gets utterly bombarded with summer tourism when you see one! Highly recommend.

I love this small town with beautiful beaches and canyons, my 2nd years to comeback here. Boat trip recommended Walk to the canyon Fishing trip and diving Good foods around the port People are friendly and not too busy Beautiful views

Stunning, accessible, surrounded by an adorable town with wonderful food and shops. Amazing market in thr center of town on Saturdays. Would love to stay just there and take a short drive to Marseille or up the coast in either direction.

Great little town, very touristy but a nice busy vibe. There were plenty of boat tours and cafes to keep you going.

Beautiful port. Charming side streets and alleys. Great seafood abound. Idyllic is only the beginning.
Jeff M — Google review
Port de Cassis is a charming and picturesque harbor nestled on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. Surrounded by pastel-colored buildings, bustling cafes, and stunning cliffs, it offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and Provençal ambiance. The port is lively yet relaxed, ideal for strolling, people-watching, or enjoying fresh seafood with a view of bobbing fishing boats and luxury yachts. Its proximity to the Calanques makes it a great starting point for boat tours or hikes, adding a touch of adventure to its serene vibe. A must-visit for anyone exploring the French Riviera.
Paul W — Google review
This is a very lovely seaside village and I highly recommend taking a boat tour. The boat tour was the best part of the visit. The shopping here is pretty good and not total tourist junk like some places. If you look closely, you can find some better quality stuff made in France and Italy. There are several restaurants here. I ate at Chez Marie, which was pretty good for a sandwich shop and very reasonably priced.

Monsieur Brun is a great place to go for a sundowner. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are attentive. The location is perfect for people watching and the view from the restaurant is amazing.
Perfect place for lunch facing the harbor. Caesar salad was excellent, server pleasant and mercifully spoke English, and also accommodated my Iced Tea request. Be sure to ask for the butter for the bread, French butter is amazing.
Patricia P — Google review
The restaurant Mr. Brun is the perfect place to have all the see food dishes you can imagine, the menu is now amazing but honestly this is the right place to have oysters, shrimps, sea urchin, etc. the prices were quite fair and the location is right next to the Port so you can have an amazing lunch while the sun is shining. Servers were nice and the food came in time.

Great restaurant overlooking the port. Excellent food, and large portions. The steak tartare was fabulous as where the chips cooked in lard! Music choice was good to.

If you imagine visiting the south of France with the James Bond film Casino Royale or the black and white classic Casablanca as your inspiration, you’ll be disappointed. Clearly this small casino is not home to high rolling masters of espionage or even the backdrop for love with a piano soundtrack. However, it is a place you can enjoy a drink, spend time trying your luck on the slots, or wager on a table.

Plage du Bestouan is a charming beach in Cassis, known for its unique natural features such as a pebbly shore and stunning turquoise waters. It is one of the two main beaches in the area, offering crystal-clear water perfect for sunbathing and snorkeling. The beach is located near the Calanques, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.
Very beautiful beach. Lovely water, not too crowded compare to the other port with is a 15min walk from here. Nice little place to spend half a day or a full day just to chill out and unwind. Tip- get early as car park is difficult.
Ab A — Google review
Smaller more pebbly beach on the far left of Cassis. You can hire a sunbed for €30 each a day and there’s a bar right there for drinks but all fairly pricey. The water is clean and there are lifeguards right there so safe for smaller children playing. It’s large pebbles though so quite hard to walk on. There’s parking right behind the beach and a few restaurants just on the road behind it. It gets very crowded though so be prepared to either pay for a bed or grab a small spot to put your belongings.
Lucy W — Google review
I love this beach. It’s small and can get crowded but it has an amazing view and the water feels like a cold pool. There are a couple good places to grab lunch/snacks/drinks. There are a few places to jump off into the water also.

The eatery situated in Cassis harbor is a renowned spot frequented by insiders who enjoy gathering there year after year. People often convene at Nino's at 11:30 am, following their visit to the market, to leisurely sip on a glass of Pastis while observing the procession of fishing vessels. By noon, everyone has already assembled around the table and engages in lively discussions about who will savor the final antipasti!
They are a great team! Authentic, friendly, helpful and efficient if you need any info e.t.c. Great spot to enjoy façade view of the harbor / castle / horizon color shades. Great French menu options, service, vibe. Merci beaucoup✨️🎉
Villy V — Google review
Visited Le Bistrot de Nino looking for a good time with friends, unfortunately the food was abysmal. We ordered the prawn linguine and steak, and on top of a very long wait, the pasta was quite literally tasteless and the steak was cooked and seasoned poorly. However, the wait staff were very kind and accommodating and the view was amazing. Despite its good looks, I would not dine here again on account of the food. A very poor €200 spent.
Jeff — Google review
We had a pleasure having dinner in this restaurant with amazing view and very friendly staff. We went for a catch of the day in combination with some very good local wine, and huge portion of dessert. Everything from the beginning to the end of the experience was great, we can only recommend this outstanding restaurant next to Port of Cassis! Valeriia and Ignace
Valeriia F — Google review
We stayed in one of their rooms and sitting on our balcony we had a view of the restaurant. Watching tableside preparation of catch of the day drove us to the decision to try it one evening. Our waitress was wonderful and the sea bream was fresh, properly cooked with a generous helping of potatoes and vegetables. The view was magnificent.
Douglas H — Google review
Same as for all restaurants in cassis that are located around the harbor - they are low quality. Doesn’t matter how luxurious they might look like. Herr we had a good wine, was really good rose. The burger was like from the burger kind and the fish was the worst ever fish my wife ever had. This all is just sad that people will tell about the French cuisine. You can eat at good restaurants but sadly not here. French cuisine can be amazing and it’s a bit of shame that it is presented here like that. Sit here, drink a glass of wine or beer, enjoy the view and eat somewhere else😀
Alexey S — Google review
Aggghhhhh, where to start with how dreadful this was?! In a tourist town like Cassis, it’s not necessary to have Alain Ducasse in the kitchen to earn money. I knew thjs. I did some due diligence and it suggested Nino was one of the better restaurants on the port. It can’t be? It’s dreadful. Lackadaisical to non-existent service (And the sense they couldn’t care less because they will be busy anyway). Lukewarm beer and wine. Cold mussels in a moule mariniere, which surely they couldn’t mess up?! It’s hard to recall wasting my money in a place that cares so little about its food or customers. I had to go somewhere else after to eat straight after to check not everywhere in Cassis could be so awful. Thankfully there are clearly much better options.
Owain J — Google review
We ordered a bottle of white wine and I had the sole a la meunière. The wine arrived too warm as if they had it placed in the ice bucket uncooled. Okay, the second bottle was cold. Then I got my fish. It was maximum half done. I sent it back. It arrived still not completely cooked. I left it on the plate. At least our good waiter had the decency of leaving it off the bill. So the service was okay the rest not so much.
Uwe R — Google review
Friendly and efficient service by hard-working English-speaking staff, but the food was really disappointing after a very long wait. Moules marinières: generous portion of small tasty mussels, but they were overcooked. Fritto misto: uninteresting, not crisp, seafood overcooked and tough. On the other hand, the local white wine was excellent. The port-side location is beautiful.

Cesar la Suite is a delightful dining spot that captures the essence of coastal charm. Nestled by the picturesque port of Cassis, this restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere complemented by friendly service and stunning views. Guests can enjoy a variety of seafood dishes, including delicious mussels and fresh salads, all while soaking in the gentle sea breeze. Whether you find yourself on their lovely terrace or inside due to unpredictable weather, you're sure to have an enjoyable experience filled with good food and warm hospitality.
Good food, fresh fish, great drinks, and the views can’t be beat! Fun place for lunch in Cassis! My wife had a Chicken Caesar Salad and I had the plat du jour, a “Hamburger Fish & Chips” which was a breaded fish sandwich with fries. The local Provence wine and gin cocktail were both great, and we finished our meal with espressos. Très délicieux, bon appétit!
Lee W — Google review
We were greeted by a nice female server. Unfortunately we waited forever for our fish. People came, ate and left in the meantime. Fish was overcooked and cold when it was served and although we ordered filets, it was full of bones. Was nauseaus the whole night. Don't recommend.
Eva F — Google review
The only thing worth coming here for is the tap water. We waited 25 minutes just for drinks and over an hour and twenty minutes for food. When it finally arrived, it was awful. Staff never once apologised for the delay. To make matters worse, other tables who arrived 20 minutes after us managed to order, eat, have dessert, and coffee before we even saw our mains. Absolutely dreadful experience.
Oscar J — Google review
Unfortunately not the best experience in France for us. Really nice outdoor sitting area on the quay and the staff were pleasant. Fast to sit down and order and the pre dinner cocktails we had were fantastic. Then the food came....which was terrible. I ordered the grilled steak which was literally a piece of steak on a plate. That's it. I don't think it was seasoned or anything. My friend ordered the fish which he described as thawed (from frozen) warmed and put on a plate. The worst food we've eaten in Europe. Disappointed to say the least. Especially for the price: €30 for the steak?!?
Andrew G — Google review
A tourist trap. Waiting time for food is ridiculous. Food overcooked and small quantities. Absolutely the worst. Do not go.
Louis — Google review
Food are really disappointed, bad taste, small quantities and over cooked, and much more expensive than normal restaurants. 35 euros for per person but not full. Very bad experience
Abigail L — Google review
Steak was okay tbf Everything was completely over priced and very average , the gambas, 27 euro for 2 pawns and some soggy chips Luke warm service Without doubt our worst meal in France
Jason C — Google review
Stay away from this “restaurant”. Horrible service and food. We waited over an hour for a Ceasar salad that had boxed chicken nuggets on top for the “chicken” , a burger that was leaking sauce all overand tasted like a BigMac and steak frites that were cold and the steak was gristly and fatty. Our server was drinking and laughing behind the bar while we sat with no bread or water. We speak French so there was no language barrier. This was in the off season so it wasn’t that they were busy and they had plenty of staff. The view from the restaurant are beautiful. NOT a reason to eat here. Their sign said “Service non-stop”. What a joke. To top it off, after we paid and left the two waitresses ran outside after us and our kids to ask if we had flipped them off. ?!?!!? We had not. What a weird experience to end an otherwise beautiful day.

French restaurant
Chez Gilbert is a Mediterranean restaurant located in Cassis, France. The menu features seafood and soups dishes as well as meat options. It is open every day except Wednesday for lunch and dinner. The restaurant has received mixed reviews for how welcoming its staff were, but the food itself was praised for being very good.
We picked Chez Gilbert mostly by chance while in Cassis, and wow were we fortunate. The seafood dishes here are spectacular! The lobster was unbelievable, more than enough for 2 persons, and the accompanying potato dish was simply sublime. The staff warned us that portions were large, and so we did not order appetizers. Nonetheless, they provided a chef appetizer that was diced vegetables with shellfish in olive oil that was incredible! The sole meuniere with risotto was fantastic, and the bread & butter were French - so really great! Service was friendly and efficient, and the views of the harbor amazing. Love this place!
Mike H — Google review
Don’t be fooled by the pics and views of this restaurant. The food was absolutely the worst in all of France, ridiculously overpriced and low quality with no taste. It is basically a tourist trap charging €65 euro for a Bouillabaisse which was nothing more than low quality fish stew. €125 euro for a fish. We were disgusted with the food and what we got foe price we paid.
Ryan F — Google review
The 50 euros menu is way too expensive for the quality of food you get. The fish soup was tasteless and without any actual fish in it, the main dish was a grilled bar which came almost cold, the desert was ok. Service was super slow and not really friendly.
Virginie F — Google review
The bouillabaisse was a major letdown!!!For such a high price(70€!), I expected something remotely authentic or flavorful — instead, I got overcooked and absolutely flavorless fish! Frankly, it felt like a lazy attempt at a premium dish, priced as if it were something special. I left feeling ripped off. Definitely not worth it!!!!
Kristina N — Google review
Posh and snobbish place. I took the menu for 50€ - food was okay I guess. I was expecting more for that price. But Pavlova was great! The problem was, all three male waiters that were going around with such miserably serious and stern faces that I started to wonder, “is that their idea of what waiters in a serious and fancy establishment should be like?” Because in all other places, you’d expect waiters to be super smiley and friendly, and you relax in their presence as well. Here, no.
Artur P — Google review
Elegant and with a great view from both sides of the dock. Very friendly staff and attentive. Food is very nice and the serve sword fish which is very tasty. They also have a typical dish from the region which is a big fish stew, very tasty. Offers nice local wines.
Mario C — Google review
I love how fresh the produce tasted, but found flavors lacking in their specialty bouillabaisse. To me it just needed more depth, more umami...and for 50€ I expected more. The entrees were ok, though I hoped for more finesse even for a bistro. CG, you could be so so much more! Keep it up!

Order fish soup, Bouillabaisse and Mussles. I like Mussle. Bouillabaisse is OK but If I have come again I would order fish soup Mussle and something else because Bouillabaisse is 4 kind of fish in the fish soup.

L'atelier Gastronomique is a restaurant that specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. Sonia, the chef, and Jean-Marc, the manager, will help you enjoy fresh and homemade dishes. The restaurant is located in Cassis, which is an attractive town on the southeastern coast of France. Parking is available nearby and there are wheelchair accessible entrances.
What a nice surprise to find this wonderful little spot. The Smoked Salmon Ravioli was amazing. We also loved the Cherry Tomato Tart as a first course and the Coconut Flan Dessert was great!!

Dinner: this busy lunch place is a find, and a good one. The place is set up for well above average eats. Dinner is less impressive. We try the 5 appetisers between the 3 of us. None is disastrous, but none jump the hump to 5* glory. The best dishes are the tomato tart and fish soup, the cheese melt is yum ans simple. The tuna rillete barely rises above mundane and the zucchini flowers suffer under the weight of a batter that needed to be far thinner, and preferably made with iced water, japonaise. The wine list is bio beaut, with prices to match. The waiter is as haughty as a cartoon french inkeeper and a real joy to be in the same place with. A safe and decent choice any time of day.

Food is just beyond delicious, the chef is so, so talented. And they were so great at accommodating our child’s allergies while still making a meal that he absolutely inhaled, asking “more” the whole time and crying if we didn’t put it in his mouth fast enough. The service is excellent, and the couple that owns this restaurant is just so, so pleasant. They opened early for us and accommodated us without a reservation. We literally immediately made a reservation for the next day, it was so excellent.

Cassis is one of the nicest places to go in the Provence. A small port near Marseille and way more attractive than Saint Tropez. As all the French here know. So we often drive there from Aix. Today we had lunch in L' Atelier Gastronomique. A short walk away from the busy terraces looking out over the port (also nice bit more standard cuisine) in a side street, this is absolutely worth the detour you go here for a great and special sandwich or tasty 'dejeuner'. We had a truffle croque madame, salade chevre and a croustillant with jambon and salad. All very nicely prepared by a nice and very service-oriented couple; Clemens , his wife and their friend. We agreed with Clemens that he would speak English with us and we would answer him back in French so we both could learn from the conversation. Need I say more?

Calanque de Port Pin is a stunning natural area featuring rocky formations, pine trees, and sandy beaches. It offers picturesque hiking trails and beautiful shingle beaches. GORGEOUS! Absolutely worth the hike there. -highly recommend the panoramic way even though it’s 30 minutes longer - the views are stunning! The way to the beach is a big difficult, but really doable.
Elena M — Google review
It's a bit of a hike to get here (wear a good pair of shoes) and make sure you bring plenty of water, especially on a hot day. But the views along the walk are stunning and the beach is well worth the effort. It's a popular beach, but if the main beach is too busy you can scramble along the rocks to find your own quieter spot. Swimming is lovely and you can dry off in the sun after. The circular walk around to the next Calanques is definitely recommended for the views, but there is a bit of clambering involved.
Geoff S — Google review
Beautiful spot for a swim. The water is clear and it wasn’t too crowded when we visited on a Tuesday at the end of June. There are a few shaded areas to escape the sun. The hike from Cassis center took about 50 minutes. It’s not too difficult and definitely worth it!!
Isa — Google review
This may depend on season entirely. We went on a Tuesday august, and had a terrible time despite the beautiful scenery. This was because 1) we had the most nightmarish parking, in which we looked for an hour in the parking lots before giving up, and being lucky enough to find street parking. People were asking those getting off the shuttle for their parking spot, and claiming them. 2) it was ridiculously crowded on the hike and in the calanque itself. The town was similarly horribly crowded at the port, but quieter outside. This said, it was a beautiful place, and fantastic to swim in. Probably best in the off season.

I cannot move on from the breathtaking beauty of the view here. It's definitely worth the walk to this beach. The sea is beautiful and clear, swimming and watching the fishes is so peaceful and enjoyable.

Nestled between towering cliffs and accessible only by foot or boat, Calanque d'En-vau is a remote beach with stunning turquoise waters. The journey to reach this hidden gem involves a challenging 7-hour hike and an 8,000-meter uphill climb, offering breathtaking views of Port-Pin and Port-Miou along the way. Visitors can also explore nearby calanques such as Calanque de Port-Pin before making their way to Cassis.
Amazing spot. Tricky 5km hike from Cassis with steep ground and loose stones... but well worth the effort for the heavenly views and stunning bay with chilly azure blue waters and cliffs either side. Very popular in the summer months... for a good reason. Simply stunning
Philip J — Google review
We walked about2hrs from the parking to get there and 1h40min to get back. The road is easy if you follow the right path but be sure to take a had, sunscreen and plenty of water as there is almost no shade during the walk there
Aleksandra C — Google review
One of the most amazing and incredible landscape during the trip. Highly recommend to be well prepared for sharp up and down hiking.

Picturesque cove made even more sweet by the decently long hike from Cassis, and by swimming out to the buoys in the cove. The view back towards the beach is stunning! Bring sturdy shoes for the hike, water shoes for the beach (or very tough feet), and a lunch (Wednesdays and Fridays are market days in Cassis!), book, good company. Great full afternoon activity to experience the park with like minded folks from around the world. The water in September was 70 degrees F, clear, very refreshing with the air temp at 80 ish degrees F.
Alex B — Google review
Very pretty view when hiking and turquoise, transparent water. We downloaded the Mes Calanques app, which guided us towards the Calanque d’En Vau via Port Pin - there are also marks on the rocks. We followed the panoramic path to go, and the shorter path (green) to retour. The hike was heavy especially the steep part descending to the water, but if you are physically active it’s super manageable. The rest of the path is rocky - sometimes slippery, but doable. The hike is magnificent, totally worth it!!

Nice beach but OMG the walk from cassis is brutal. Be prepared for some serious climbing up and down and make sure you've got plenty of water.
Dave C — Google review
Parking in Cassis is near to impossible. You have to be lucky to find place in the streets. The hike is very easy to the first beach but gets difficult later. I really believe that if you don't have proper shoes you should not go. The terrain is quite slippery even in sneakers. Important: bring water shoes as well, it will be much easier to walk on the beach. I also think you should leave those trekking poles in your car, there are parts of the hike where you need to have free hands. We got stuck in a "traffic jam" because of group of hikers with these poles. Even in september there is soooo many people. If you come after 3pm, there will be no sun but also much less people.
Diana L — Google review
Beautiful swimming spot once you get there. Around a 17km hike in total, back and forth from the Cassis train station. Ish 4km one way from the edge of the town where the route turns into a hiking trail. The hike is quite tough during the summer heat. Steep and lots of small rocks that move from under your feet. Definitely requires proper shoes. Bring at least 2L of water per person. You’ll sweat it out in a heart beat. We went in the middle of June, and the place was packed. I’d imagine during July it would be jam-packed.

Cassis Calanques Plongée

Diving center
Cassis Calanques Plongée is a must-visit destination for those seeking the beauty of the Mediterranean. Nestled between the renowned Massif des Calanques and the majestic Cap Canaille, Cassis offers visitors a taste of Provence and the sea. The main attraction here is the Calanques, rocky inlets perfect for hiking, swimming, and boating with stunning views of the Mediterranean.
A quick HALF day trip here from Aix was just great. We took a 1 hour boat trip to visit three creeks (calanques), spent an hour or two on the beach, and had great drinks on the main Queen Street afterwards. We were back in Aix in time to clean up, rest and go out to dinner. The highways are amazing and make such a trip possible.

Cassis Calanques was our first dive experience in Europe. We were well received by the dive crew, they had well-maintained rental wetsuits which we appreciated. The dive sites are pretty close to the marina, which is great if you don't enjoy long boat rides, plus the view of the city and the Calanques is simply breathtaking. We got to see sunken Napolean-era canons and huge Groupers. We highly recommend!
Dominic D — Google review
If you are not a french speaker don't come here. We were completely ignored the whole trip, not briefed properly, equipment wasn't checked, and the instructor for my friends baptism told her that diving wasn't her thing after a couple tries (with almost no instruction on his end). Don't tell people that your instructors speak english when they simply refuse to do it even if they can. Also they don't even have water on board. Their masks and equipment is not very good quality. We paid almost 200 euro for one dive and it was the worst experience I have ever had.

This was such a great dive shop. They took us out to a beautiful dive site at a rock far off the coast. My instructor/guide did an incredible job pointing out wild life. The dive lasted about 45-50 minutes, and their rental gear was really nice. Overall, they helped me have possibly my favorite diving experience yet.
William H — Google review
Nice and friendly team with a great atmosphere. Felt very professional. The dive guide Florie was patient, checking in frequently and gave a perfect tour of the spot. Saw lots fish - grouper, barracuda, eels, wrasse, rock fish, blennies and more. We were also the first boat to arrive at the spot before other dive groups. Also a nice touch with hot tea given out after the dive.

Plage de la Grande Mer in Cassis is a stunning free beach located near the town center. It offers breathtaking views of cliffs and calanques, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day by the sea. This sandy beach is ideal for families and anyone seeking to bask in the Mediterranean sunshine. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and various other activities while taking in the natural beauty of the coast.
I was almost cry when I first visit Cassis. It was the most beautiful beach and town I‘ve ever been in my life. It’s a small city, you can visit few tourist area for 1-2days. Some famous tourist beach is crowded with people. But there’s many beaches, you can walk around and choose one what you most like. You can enjoy relaxed time and the sun for yourself!

Lovely place! From Marseille it was a 40min bus ride to Cassis (3.50€) then a short walk to the beach. Not sandy but the pebbles are very small so not hard to walk on it and comfortable to lay down. The water was perfect, very clear! Beach was packed at 8-9am, lots of tourists but I saw a least 7 police person walking around the city and beach. It felt safe enough to go in for a swim while leaving my stuff behind as a solo traveler. No shower to wash off after going for a swim, only a tap to wash your feet/legs. There is a small shop to grab drinks and popsicle but quite expensive. But people were nice and spoke English. There’s is also a small area with sunbeds for hire

Plage de l’Arène is a secluded and wild beach located in Cassis, less crowded than other beaches in the area. Accessible via a small car park and steep steps, this rocky beach is surrounded by pine trees and offers a peaceful atmosphere. It's not the easiest for swimming, so reef shoes are recommended. The beach can be reached through a side street near vineyards, making it more hidden than other nearby beaches.
This beach is a dream come true for nature lovers and anyone seeking tranquility away from the crowds. The crystal-clear turquoise water, dramatic cliffs, and lush pine-covered hills create an almost surreal backdrop. Even on a misty day, the view was absolutely magical, with the clouds hugging the mountain tops like a scene from a fantasy movie. Whether you're paddleboarding, relaxing on the rocky shore, or just taking in the views, this place feels peaceful and raw. My favorite beach during winter.

Pizza restaurant
La Girandole is a small, family-owned pizza restaurant located in a typical street of Cassis. The brothers who own La Girandole are welcoming and will introduce you to their delicious Mediterranean-inspired and Creole cuisine.
This was the best dinner i had in a really long time. I went with my friend, we ordered focaccia for starters and it was DELICIOUS. The straciatella was creamy and the truffles MMM. Then i had a duck steak, also really yummy, the meat was tender and well seasoned. My friend ordered gnocchi and they were drowning in a delicious sause and cheese. Everything went so well, the waiting time was a little long like 30 mins but it was worth waiting. At the end we were served a mini digestive cocktail, so refreshing and tasty. For sure would recommend to everyone looking for a nice place to eat. The staff was also really nice.

This is the perfect place if you want to eat good affordable Pasta in Cassis. The Pasta Vongole and the Arrabiata are both great and the staff is also very nice - you can even get a Cuba Libre. Also the Gnochi house Pasta was good if you like more cheesy stuff. We were at several restaurant in Cassis with the aim not to spend more then 20 to 30 Euros per person and this was the best - we visited at end of May 2024.
Max G — Google review
Last night we 5 persons went to have dinner there. The person next to us was having “Arrabbiata and Burrata”, 4 of us ordered the same, I order another pasta. Surprisingly they gave us much less quantity than our neighbor. Moreover after us some one ordered the same, they also gave much more than us. I complained to the waiters, twice but they ignored. Finally I complained to the boss. They should treat us fairly. We will never go there again.

Friendly and atmospheric restaurant. Wine and desserts were good. The Pizza though was mediocre, it looked and tasted like a bought in pre-made pizza base.

Closest restaurant to the beach so views of the Med are uninterrupted if you get the outdoor beachside tables on the terrace. Prices are a bit higher than others for similar dishes but view+quality of food is great and service very friendly/efficient so it balances out. We had the Sea Bass and the Wolf Fish (?) Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Cassis, Chez Poulette offers a delightful escape from the bustling port area. This cozy eatery is known for its homemade dishes and warm atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind while enjoying stunning views of the sea. The restaurant's location allows diners to soak in the picturesque scenery of colorful boats bobbing in the harbor and the majestic Château de Cassis looming above.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch in the restaurant. The waitress kindly explained the menus in English since we don’t neither know nor speak French. They also showed their warm hospitality and inquired us how the food tastes several times. We ordered 4 different kinds of main courses, 2 kinds of desserts. We shared the food together. Every dish was empty, you can imagine how we loved the cuisine very much.😋 Strongly recommend!👍

Exceptional experience here. Waitress was brilliant, explained all the menu in detail to us upon arrival. She was good humoured also. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The prawn fried rice dish and the duck were both very tasty. The white wine was equally nice. A wonderful experience from start to finish, would highly recommend.

There is one proper way to describe this restaurant: Fantastic Among a sea of touristic restaurants that have mediocre food, this hidden gem stands out in every way possible. My advice is to order everything on the menu; and make a reservation to get a nice table. As for parking, I would suggest to parachute in instead. There is no parking, and you will have to park far away and walk about half an hour to get to the restaurant. But the food makes the parking situation minimally annoying. In summary, the food that this restaurant offers is amazing.
3G K — Google review
An absolutely amazing experience here!! Food was incredibly delicious - from apps to mains to desserts, and the top notch service made the experience so much better. We dropped one of our calamari pieces on the ground, and they brought us out a couple pieces to make up for it - so thoughtful! Would recommend to everyone and would definitely return.

An absolute must visit on your trip to Cassis, the food is superb and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. The food was so good we had to come back for a second visit before leaving Cassis. Recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

Yummy and familiar flavours in the shrimp fried rice. Loved the sauce, if I could suggest one slight improvement would be to have more peanuts, the crunch adds to the dish! The staff were great—was clearly a busy period but they were very kind and warm and acquiesced to my request for more peanuts 😂

A Hidden Gem for Homemade Delights We recently dined at this cozy little restaurant and were absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring, which made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the service was super quick, which is always a plus! As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. We ordered four different dishes, and each one was perfect. Every dish tasted like it was made with love, using fresh and high-quality ingredients. The flavors were rich and comforting, truly reminiscent of home-cooked meals. To top it off, we tried four different desserts, and they were absolutely incredible—each one better than the last! If you're looking for a place with heartfelt service, fast service, and delicious homemade food (and desserts!), this restaurant is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Perhaps one of the best meals of my life! Absolutely phenomenal! Each dish was perfectly executed. The duck was cooked to perfection and the flavors far from boring. The ceviche was so unique it had me dancing in my seat. Paired with a rose, pure magic. The panna cotta was the perfecting ending. You need a reservation but the place is very unpretentious, which I love! Why doesn’t this place have a Michelin star? I just don’t understand!

Haute French restaurant
La Presqu'île is a renowned restaurant located between Cassis and the stunning Calanques massif, offering breathtaking views of the Bay of Cassis and Cap Canaille. Since 1978, this establishment has been serving inventive southern French cuisine that showcases the flavors of Provence and the Mediterranean. The restaurant's terrace provides a privileged setting to enjoy a leisurely meal while soaking in the last rays of daylight.
La Presqu'île in Cassis offers an unforgettable dining experience in a prime location, with stunning views of the cliffs across the bay. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the service was absolutely flawless from start to finish. Every dish we had was delicious and beautifully presented, truly a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The only downside was the portion sizes, which were quite small. The turbot main course, in particular, was surprisingly tiny—probably less than 2 ounces. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left with a great impression. If you’re looking for a fantastic dinner with breathtaking views, I highly recommend La Presqu'île. Just don’t expect large portions!

Wow!! Cannot get over how amazing our lunch was today. Amazing amazing views. Great vibe and exceptional service by the staff. Also the best duck I’ve ever had. Having a G&T to start the lunch with these views was such a vibe let me tell you! Won’t regret trying this place. Also the parking situation was amazing. They have dedicated parking for people who have an advanced reservation with the restaurant. They leave your name with the parking attendant at front, you just say your name, don’t have to pay 10 EUR and get parking right out the front of the restaurant. We went early and enjoyed the walk around the view point and Calanques.

Everything was perfect during our visit. The welcome was warm, the attention to detail from the staff who prepared and those who served was exceptional. The food tasted as good as it looked and believe me,visually, the dishes were works of art! See my pictures. I would strongly recommend this as a restaurant offering great ambience and food to match. Well done to all concerned! I cannot think of anything that could have been done better. Oh and did I mention the cheese board?Oh my word! Sublime!
Nick M — Google review
Our set lunch menu was as tasty and beautifully as the view was marvelous. Exciting tastes with meticulous attention to the details. An addition from the wide selection of cheeses made the meal complete. The staff was very pleasant and professional. Clearly a restaurant with high ambitions, witch I believe they reacted.

The view and setting are absolutely breathtaking, worth every penny. I recommend booking an early dinner to fully enjoy the sunset 🌅 and stunning sea views. The food was delicious, with the grilled tomato being a standout. I appreciate the concept of offering two set menus to choose from. However, the service could be improved by having two designated serving times. This would allow the kitchen to bring out food for all guests simultaneously, which would save time, especially considering the terrace has over 50 seats. Staggered arrivals make it challenging to serve everyone smoothly ☺️.

If you are in cassis and looking for a place to picnic with nice views here is the place. Recommend time is before sunset and you can see the colors at the mountains turn to be golden.
