Outdoor Activities
Plage de la Grande Mer in Cassis is a stunning free beach located near the town center. It offers breathtaking views of cliffs and calanques, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day by the sea. This sandy beach is ideal for families and anyone seeking to bask in the Mediterranean sunshine. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and various other activities while taking in the natural beauty of the coast.
I was almost cry when I first visit Cassis. It was the most beautiful beach and town I‘ve ever been in my life. It’s a small city, you can visit few tourist area for 1-2days. Some famous tourist beach is crowded with people. But there’s many beaches, you can walk around and choose one what you most like. You can enjoy relaxed time and the sun for yourself!

Lovely place! From Marseille it was a 40min bus ride to Cassis (3.50€) then a short walk to the beach. Not sandy but the pebbles are very small so not hard to walk on it and comfortable to lay down. The water was perfect, very clear! Beach was packed at 8-9am, lots of tourists but I saw a least 7 police person walking around the city and beach. It felt safe enough to go in for a swim while leaving my stuff behind as a solo traveler. No shower to wash off after going for a swim, only a tap to wash your feet/legs. There is a small shop to grab drinks and popsicle but quite expensive. But people were nice and spoke English. There’s is also a small area with sunbeds for hire

Public beach
Plage du Bestouan is a charming beach in Cassis, known for its unique natural features such as a pebbly shore and stunning turquoise waters. It is one of the two main beaches in the area, offering crystal-clear water perfect for sunbathing and snorkeling. The beach is located near the Calanques, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.
Very beautiful beach. Lovely water, not too crowded compare to the other port with is a 15min walk from here. Nice little place to spend half a day or a full day just to chill out and unwind. Tip- get early as car park is difficult.
Ab A — Google review
Smaller more pebbly beach on the far left of Cassis. You can hire a sunbed for €30 each a day and there’s a bar right there for drinks but all fairly pricey. The water is clean and there are lifeguards right there so safe for smaller children playing. It’s large pebbles though so quite hard to walk on. There’s parking right behind the beach and a few restaurants just on the road behind it. It gets very crowded though so be prepared to either pay for a bed or grab a small spot to put your belongings.
Lucy W — Google review
I love this beach. It’s small and can get crowded but it has an amazing view and the water feels like a cold pool. There are a couple good places to grab lunch/snacks/drinks. There are a few places to jump off into the water also.
Britton W — Google review
Stunning beach. The sun can be brutal so bring a tent or umbrella as there is little shade. Water is cool but stunning.

Port de Cassis is a charming and picturesque harbor filled with brightly colored buildings and fishing boats. The area offers car-free streets, perfect for leisurely strolls among pastel-painted buildings, colorful shutters, cobbled streets, and vibrant plant-filled pots. From the port, visitors can embark on excursions to the essential calanques of Port Pin and En Vau after a scenic hike from Calanque de Port Miou.
Incredible little coastal town. Having been in the "out of season" I can highly recommend it for the amazing scenery and bright beaches with beautiful waves crashing about everywhere. Personally it is the town's proximity within the Calanques mountain range that makes this place feel so special. Be careful heading there in the midst of summer however, as being familiar with the likes of St Ives in Cornwall, it's plain to see a small town that gets utterly bombarded with summer tourism when you see one! Highly recommend.

Jeff M — Google review
Port de Cassis is a charming and picturesque harbor nestled on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. Surrounded by pastel-colored buildings, bustling cafes, and stunning cliffs, it offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and Provençal ambiance. The port is lively yet relaxed, ideal for strolling, people-watching, or enjoying fresh seafood with a view of bobbing fishing boats and luxury yachts. Its proximity to the Calanques makes it a great starting point for boat tours or hikes, adding a touch of adventure to its serene vibe. A must-visit for anyone exploring the French Riviera.
Paul W — Google review
This is a very lovely seaside village and I highly recommend taking a boat tour. The boat tour was the best part of the visit. The shopping here is pretty good and not total tourist junk like some places. If you look closely, you can find some better quality stuff made in France and Italy. There are several restaurants here. I ate at Chez Marie, which was pretty good for a sandwich shop and very reasonably priced.

La Villa Madie is an upscale restaurant offering refined Mediterranean cuisine and breathtaking sea views from its terrace. Run by Chef Dimitri Droisneau and his wife Marielle, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant requires a smart casual dress code. The menu features standout dishes like grilled Mediterranean rouget with almonds and fennel in urchin-and-saffron sauce.
I visited this exquisite restaurant for lunch with my wife to celebrate her birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was truly enchanting, with stunning decor that harmoniously complemented the breathtaking views surrounding us. Each dish was crafted with a thoughtful blend of seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, while the flavors danced across our palates, leaving us in awe of the remarkable cooking. The staff provided an exceptional level of service, taking the time to thoroughly explain the intricate details of the food and wine pairings, all in English. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel right at home. Having dined at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, we found La Villa Madie to be our favorite of them all.
Martin B — Google review
The place is simply amazing . The service was excellent, no mistake or error. The wine list is super and real good pricing, except for the first growth Bordeaux- everything else was priced very reasonably. The food presentation and quality is up to three star. The chef visited every table- nice gesture. The atmosphere is magic. We will definitely return!
Tamas B — Google review
After making a later booking, we decided to arrive about an hour early due to our hotel’s check-out time. We were pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly the staff accommodated this. As we walked through the restaurant to the outdoor terrace, we were greeted by a stunning view from our table. We initially dined outside but moved indoors later due to a change in the weather. The food was exquisite, both in taste and presentation. Unfortunately, a flight cancellation that evening prevented us from fully savoring our meal. However, the staff graciously expedited the service, allowing us to complete our meal while reworking our travel plans. They even packed the petit fours for us to enjoy on our way home!
G. L — Google review
Brasserie du Corton Review (Not to be confused with La Villa Madie ***) The food was excellent. Really delicious and well executed. The highlights were the beef and oyster tartare, something that was novel for us. Also the veal dish where the meat was cleverly hidden inside the vegetables was a fun dish as well. Quite tasty! The negatives: It was really hot on the balcony, and there was no option to sit inside with air conditioning. There were no fans or anything to help with the heat on the balcony. Inside the "dining room" it was very disorganised and seemed like some of the staff's personal effects were just laying around. On a day with 34 degrees Celcius, perhaps having an air conditioned room for lunch would have been a good idea. The service was not good either. This is honestly not a place where you would expect to have to serve your own wine. But our glasses sat empty for 10 minutes plus, and our white wine bottle sat in the bucket while waiters walked back and forth. This is France, right? The country that invented gastronomy and wine service? The restaurant downstairs has the highest culinary distinction from a certain tire company, right? If you want to respond with "oh well, if you wanted that level of service, then go to La Villa Madie." Wrong. There are many hotels that have the brasserie - fine dining restaurants combo, and their levels of service are comparable. That was not the case here. To be fair the food was excellent, and on a less hot day in the spring or fall the balcony would have been lovely. Installing some ceiling fans would go a long way towards thermal comfort in the summer on the balcony, with the added huge bonus of keeping flies and mosquitos away from guests. The wine service and organisation of the inside dining room need improvement.
Justin W — Google review
With a stunning view of the sea, we enjoyed the best dinner I have ever had. The dishes showed so much finesse, intriguing flavour combinations, evolving tastes, and a perfectly cohesive menu (a.o. sardine/caviar and anemone). The recommended wine pairings were fantastic (a.o. a heavenly Gavoty Clarendon from 2015, and a Gros Noré Bandol from 2015 as well: kudos to the sommelier), and the staff was warm and attentive. This is a dinner I will never forget!
Anton S — Google review
The food was beautiful and very good, but I was never overwhelmed by the flavors the way I’ve experienced in the past while dining at 3 Star restaurant at almost 400€ a person. I recommend trying it yours. The wine list was stunning and the service impeccable, not to mention the view.
Lisa F — Google review
We loved this meal. Incredible experience and our sommelier was amazing
Rachael S — Google review
La Brasserie du Corton, not the 3 Michelin star La Villa Madie; a bit disappointing for the price - 3 course meal for 70 euros. Between the two of us we had steak and oyster tartare, braised leek, fish of the day (local white fish, texture similar to tuna), fig and lemon tart dessert. Cant say any component of the dish was really that memorable/unique.

Bar De La Marine is a bustling brasserie that offers a perfect spot for people-watching with its comfortable chairs and a view of the harbor. Visitors can enjoy an aperitif, glass of wine, or coffee while observing the lively atmosphere of the port, including tourists, locals playing petanque, and fishermen selling their catches. The cafe also serves delicious dishes such as Caesar Salad and Tuna Tartare.
Go for breakfast - it was perfect. Omelette was delicious, pancakes were fluffy, yogurt with granola was creamy and light. The setting was ideal

The bouillabaisse was an acquired taste so I won’t comment on it. Other than that, the tuna was great!
Jacqueline C — Google review
Stopped here for a drink during the day. As it was close to lunch time, the waiter wasn't inclined to allow us have seats without agreeing to order food. We ordered fries with our drinks, and he wasnt pleased and was very rude. Plenty of free seats around so there was no need to hold the seats like he was trying to do.
John B — Google review
I don't understand the bad ratings - I found this place extremely good and would definitely come back. Even though I was there on a Friday evening and it was packed, the waiters always had an eye on us and we never needed to wait long to pass another order. We tried several cocktails that were all amazing - taste, decoration and ingredient wise (compared for instance to the little bar just on the right). The food was delicious as well, very flavorful and nicely arranged. And lastly the interior is very pretty too. Price wise there is not much difference to the other places close by, it's all a bit elevated 🤑 Really liked this bar 💗
Sarah — Google review
The worst meal I have had in my life (only saving grace is I have not gotten food poising - as of yet). This flavorless meal will set you back about 30 euros and it should be a crime to even take a single cent. To top it off, the service people are not the friendliest.
M O — Google review
Absolute gem on the harbour front in Cassis! We meant to only stay for a drink but we were delighted that we stayed for dinner too. Amazing service, ambiance and quality meal. We had the octopus and the seabream and both were INCREDIBLE!
Nora K — Google review
I have been asking couple restaurants nearby, they all are not welcome us as we did not make reservations in advance. No reservations in advance for Saturday night in here, luckily, they can get a table for us even indoor, still great. We ordered fried fish, pan fried scallop and carbonara, they are all good indeed, though it takes time to prepare😅 We are not in hurry, this is fine. Actually this is a great place to have a drink and chat, great music to admire sunsets 🌇 In terms of price, pretty costly for a cocktail honestly. It's about €13 per glass, it's fine for us.
Lulu L — Google review
The good things about this place: the nice waiter, the bread and the location. However, we were unhappy about the service. They served another table first (french speaking costumers), the food was cold and average at most.

Located in the charming town of Cassis, La Nonna D'Oro is a moderately priced restaurant offering delicious local cuisine with a focus on fresh seafood and delectable desserts. The restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options overlooking the picturesque marina and sea. Despite its Italian name, the menu mainly features local dishes including an array of fish and meat options. Guests praise the attentive and efficient service provided by friendly waitstaff.
Came for lunch and everything was so delicious and fresh. Right by the harbor with great views. Was authentic and not a tourist trap (like some of the nearby places).
Elizabeth F — Google review
Mediocre food, way overpriced. The dishes we ordered, a truffle pasta and a grilled piece of fish, tasted shockingly bland considering the price we payed (38 € each for the two dishes). The spaghetti with some garlic and cheap olive oil we made in our hotel room the night before was much more satisfying and cost a twentieth of the price. I guess you are simply paying for the harbor view and the convenience here. The service was fine. Overall not terrible but definitely not worth the price.
Hampus G — Google review
In general, the atmosphere is great, just in front of Port de Cassis. The service was not too bad but not friendly enough. I was not hungry so I went for the salmon tataki but it is more likely the salmon steak. The price is pricey but compared to other restaurants it is the average price in Cassis

Nice restaurant just by the water, everything was cooked nicely and the service was excellent. Great place to have a dinner in Cassis
Damla — Google review
It s a tiny restaurant , few spots outside and for inside as well . The food is amazing , fresh and tasty . The portions are pretty good as well . If you are outside you are facing the tiny port and the sea . Short menu but a lot of choices at end between the Fish and meats . Even if the name is Italian , mainly it’s more local food and not Italian food . The fish were excellent . Very nice waiters as well , fast and polite , attentive to the customers . A bit pricey but worth it from my opinion
Denis D — Google review
Great food, but rushed out before we were ready to leave We had a reservation for dinner, with no mention of any time limit. After finishing our meal, we weren’t asked if we’d like more drinks. Instead, we were given the bill without asking for it. A few minutes after paying, the waiter asked us to leave so the table could be given to waiting guests. A real shame, because the food and atmosphere were excellent. Tip: ask about time limits before booking.
Melina R — Google review
A very nice place for dinner indeed! The burrata was creamy and delicious with the pesto sauce and veggies, the salmon appetiser was actually 2 huge fillets of salmon - wow! the sea bass was very nicely cooked and seasoned (but I wasn't too crazy about the risotto), and the truffle pasta was as creamy as can be. Our waiter was attentive and it was quite an enjoyable evening.
Amanda W — Google review
My gf and I we went there trusting on the reviews (now I regret it). I ordered a prawn risotto (38 euros) and I received salt with rice and three miserable prawns, probably they were as astonish by the level of salt in the dish as I. I am not a big foodie, so I am not so picky but that was very salty and when I highlighted to the server didn’t react ( expected). I am just a review but hope that they improve and if you go keep this comment in mind.

Haute French restaurant
La Presqu'île is a renowned restaurant located between Cassis and the stunning Calanques massif, offering breathtaking views of the Bay of Cassis and Cap Canaille. Since 1978, this establishment has been serving inventive southern French cuisine that showcases the flavors of Provence and the Mediterranean. The restaurant's terrace provides a privileged setting to enjoy a leisurely meal while soaking in the last rays of daylight.
La Presqu'île in Cassis offers an unforgettable dining experience in a prime location, with stunning views of the cliffs across the bay. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the service was absolutely flawless from start to finish. Every dish we had was delicious and beautifully presented, truly a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The only downside was the portion sizes, which were quite small. The turbot main course, in particular, was surprisingly tiny—probably less than 2 ounces. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left with a great impression. If you’re looking for a fantastic dinner with breathtaking views, I highly recommend La Presqu'île. Just don’t expect large portions!

Wow!! Cannot get over how amazing our lunch was today. Amazing amazing views. Great vibe and exceptional service by the staff. Also the best duck I’ve ever had. Having a G&T to start the lunch with these views was such a vibe let me tell you! Won’t regret trying this place. Also the parking situation was amazing. They have dedicated parking for people who have an advanced reservation with the restaurant. They leave your name with the parking attendant at front, you just say your name, don’t have to pay 10 EUR and get parking right out the front of the restaurant. We went early and enjoyed the walk around the view point and Calanques.

Everything was perfect during our visit. The welcome was warm, the attention to detail from the staff who prepared and those who served was exceptional. The food tasted as good as it looked and believe me,visually, the dishes were works of art! See my pictures. I would strongly recommend this as a restaurant offering great ambience and food to match. Well done to all concerned! I cannot think of anything that could have been done better. Oh and did I mention the cheese board?Oh my word! Sublime!
Nick M — Google review
Our set lunch menu was as tasty and beautifully as the view was marvelous. Exciting tastes with meticulous attention to the details. An addition from the wide selection of cheeses made the meal complete. The staff was very pleasant and professional. Clearly a restaurant with high ambitions, witch I believe they reacted.
Peter B — Google review
The view and setting are absolutely breathtaking, worth every penny. I recommend booking an early dinner to fully enjoy the sunset 🌅 and stunning sea views. The food was delicious, with the grilled tomato being a standout. I appreciate the concept of offering two set menus to choose from. However, the service could be improved by having two designated serving times. This would allow the kitchen to bring out food for all guests simultaneously, which would save time, especially considering the terrace has over 50 seats. Staggered arrivals make it challenging to serve everyone smoothly ☺️.
S — Google review
If you are in cassis and looking for a place to picnic with nice views here is the place. Recommend time is before sunset and you can see the colors at the mountains turn to be golden. Need to prepare for a comfortable mattress or pillow as it rocky area, not an easy to find a way to get in to the water but you should try.

The eatery situated in Cassis harbor is a renowned spot frequented by insiders who enjoy gathering there year after year. People often convene at Nino's at 11:30 am, following their visit to the market, to leisurely sip on a glass of Pastis while observing the procession of fishing vessels. By noon, everyone has already assembled around the table and engages in lively discussions about who will savor the final antipasti!
They are a great team! Authentic, friendly, helpful and efficient if you need any info e.t.c. Great spot to enjoy façade view of the harbor / castle / horizon color shades. Great French menu options, service, vibe. Merci beaucoup✨️🎉

Visited Le Bistrot de Nino looking for a good time with friends, unfortunately the food was abysmal. We ordered the prawn linguine and steak, and on top of a very long wait, the pasta was quite literally tasteless and the steak was cooked and seasoned poorly. However, the wait staff were very kind and accommodating and the view was amazing. Despite its good looks, I would not dine here again on account of the food. A very poor €200 spent.

We had a pleasure having dinner in this restaurant with amazing view and very friendly staff. We went for a catch of the day in combination with some very good local wine, and huge portion of dessert. Everything from the beginning to the end of the experience was great, we can only recommend this outstanding restaurant next to Port of Cassis! Valeriia and Ignace
Valeriia F — Google review
We stayed in one of their rooms and sitting on our balcony we had a view of the restaurant. Watching tableside preparation of catch of the day drove us to the decision to try it one evening. Our waitress was wonderful and the sea bream was fresh, properly cooked with a generous helping of potatoes and vegetables. The view was magnificent.
Douglas H — Google review
Same as for all restaurants in cassis that are located around the harbor - they are low quality. Doesn’t matter how luxurious they might look like. Herr we had a good wine, was really good rose. The burger was like from the burger kind and the fish was the worst ever fish my wife ever had. This all is just sad that people will tell about the French cuisine. You can eat at good restaurants but sadly not here. French cuisine can be amazing and it’s a bit of shame that it is presented here like that. Sit here, drink a glass of wine or beer, enjoy the view and eat somewhere else😀

Aggghhhhh, where to start with how dreadful this was?! In a tourist town like Cassis, it’s not necessary to have Alain Ducasse in the kitchen to earn money. I knew thjs. I did some due diligence and it suggested Nino was one of the better restaurants on the port. It can’t be? It’s dreadful. Lackadaisical to non-existent service (And the sense they couldn’t care less because they will be busy anyway). Lukewarm beer and wine. Cold mussels in a moule mariniere, which surely they couldn’t mess up?! It’s hard to recall wasting my money in a place that cares so little about its food or customers. I had to go somewhere else after to eat straight after to check not everywhere in Cassis could be so awful. Thankfully there are clearly much better options.

We ordered a bottle of white wine and I had the sole a la meunière. The wine arrived too warm as if they had it placed in the ice bucket uncooled. Okay, the second bottle was cold. Then I got my fish. It was maximum half done. I sent it back. It arrived still not completely cooked. I left it on the plate. At least our good waiter had the decency of leaving it off the bill. So the service was okay the rest not so much.

Friendly and efficient service by hard-working English-speaking staff, but the food was really disappointing after a very long wait. Moules marinières: generous portion of small tasty mussels, but they were overcooked. Fritto misto: uninteresting, not crisp, seafood overcooked and tough. On the other hand, the local white wine was excellent. The port-side location is beautiful.

French restaurant
Bar Le France is a popular spot in Cassis, especially when the sun is shining. It offers a fantastic drinks menu and affordable food options. In the mornings, it operates as a bring-your-own breakfast coffee shop, although some find the coffee slightly bitter at times. However, it's highly regarded for its value as an evening aperitif bar with great staff and a prime location on the old port.
Excellent food. The steak was one of the better steaks I've had. The value for money is at the top of my list. Good cocktails.
Deepak J — Google review
The service at this restaurant was the worst I’ve experienced in France. They obviously ONLY want native French speakers. I know some French and was trying to order in French, trying not to be the ugly American expecting him the know English. He spoke very fast and got POed when we only ordered wine, berating us to the French patrons around us. The waiter did the same to other non natives in the restaurant. The waiter pushed a table against ours and was obviously trying to get us to leave. If you aren’t a native French speaker, avoid this place. I have no idea about the food and I won’t. Every other establishment we visited in France for two weeks at least seamed to appreciate the attempt to speak French and our business.

Typically rude. These men are so unhappy. Should change their lives. They have a minimum of 16 euros on card so if you want a quick drink and no cash, good luck. We had 7 euros cash and it was 8 euros. No way could they be kind and let us off. No, he made me walk to the bank 10 mins which is 6 euros fee to withdraw minimum of 20. Great. So back I came. They couldn’t care less. Still made me pay 12 euros for 8 euro drinks. Shouted at me on the way out after I expressed my frustration. Stay well clear. They don’t have to make an effort. Cassis does it for them.

This is a bring-your-own breakfast type of coffee shop in the mornings but the coffee can be a touch bitter occasionally, otherwise 5 stars. In the evenings this is one of the better value aperitif bars in Cassis. Great position. Great staff.
Ron L — Google review
Just some fake waiter pretending the card machin doesn’t work because of the bad weather the day before. Come on, there’s no correlation between heavy raining and the card machine. Just be honest and say you prefer cash. Or better, just admit you wanted more cash so you don’t have to declare and pay taxes. So ridiculous to fake and give false excuses.
Hoang N — Google review
Nice location on old port. Traditional cocktails and drinks. They also have a limited menu and good ice cream. They have live music on weekends during summer and they also have large TV's for important games.

I think we have the same waiter as in many reviews before. Very unpleasant rude, unfriendly. Very loud music also. There are many better places here in Cassis!

Restaurant Le Bonaparte is a french restaurant located in Cassis, France. The food is excellent and the service friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant for seafood lovers!
Absolutely loved our experience at Restaurant Le Bonaparte in Cassis! The seafood was incredibly fresh and full of flavor — every dish we tried was perfectly prepared. What made it even more special was the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The boss is genuinely one of the friendliest people we’ve met, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. A true gem by the sea — highly recommend to anyone visiting Cassis!

As an American, this was an amazing experience. Out of several restaurants in Cassis I've gone to, these were the KINDEST people you could encounter. I highly highly recommend. Also the food was phenomenal and they can give great wine recommendations for people who don't know the French wine profiles.

€20 for two course lunch with a coffee - the fish comes with amazing sauce and the dessert is a apple cooked in sugar and shaved in a spiral like way. Absolutely amazing, authentic and homey. Would recommend.

First time in cassis - was recommended a couple places but this was a standout. I tried going to another restaurant and the food wasn't as good. Ended up eating here three days in a row and ordered the moulees gratinees (mussels), provencal fish, and bouillanbaise. Don't miss out on the mussels - a new fave! Great service, the staff were accommodating, warm and friendly - lovely overall atmosphere and tucked away in the little alleyways ✨

The staff were great, felt very taken care of. Bossman brought the live lobster to the table and made it say “bonjour”! Yummy fish soup, amazing brown butter lobster all deshelled for me (most helpful of them) and loovely poached apple dessert with chantilly. Ambience in the cool summer night and chatter in the alley very charming.

La Vieille Auberge in Cassis is a family-run restaurant located by the port, offering classic Provençal seafood dishes paired with local Cassis wines. The restaurant provides an authentic French and Mediterranean dining experience, combining delicious flavors with scenic beauty. In addition to its culinary offerings, the establishment also boasts a vineyard spanning 14 hectares at the foot of Charlemagne's crown, producing AOP Cassis white and rosé wines.
Decent place to hop to a dinner with no reservation. Quite good, although some dishes lack finesse. Fish soup is very good, as well as veau cheeks. As to desserts, go for cold and hot apple.

We had a lovely dinner at La Vieille Auberge during our stay in Cassis. The location couldn’t be better—right along the picturesque port, easy to find, and perfect for a relaxing meal with a view. I ordered the sea bass, and it was incredibly fresh—simply prepared with minimal seasoning, just the way it should be. A squeeze of fresh lemon was all it needed to shine. Every table gets fresh bread, which was a nice touch. The service really stood out—attentive and friendly. Our server even expertly deboned the fish at the table, which made it so much easier to enjoy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a price & quality, quality seafood, great service, and a beautiful setting!
Юрий И — Google review
The restaurant looks nice and the wine was good, but unfortunately that’s all I can say that was positive. If you don’t speak fluent French or go with a native speaker, the customer service is dismissive and neglectful. What should have been a magical evening was completely ruined by a very rude waiter with a terrible attitude, who made us feel as though we were bothering him by asking questions and generally inconveniencing him by being there and trying to speak French - to the point that we were afraid to complain about the quality of the food for fear of what he might say or of being completely dismissed . On the other hand he treated the French speaking couple next to us very nicely and they seemed pleased with their meal and had friendly discussion with the waiter. To make things worse, one of the dishes was unacceptable: poorly presented, a hard piece of meat, and an over-fried pile of fries. I didn’t send it back only because I didn’t want to deal with the waiter’s arrogance again. Overall, a very disappointing experience. A real shame — with better service and more care in the kitchen, this restaurant could live up to its setting and reputation.

We went to La Vieille Auberge for lunch during our day trip in Cassis, and had a great experience. The location is right along the port and easy to find. I ordered the sea bream and it was super fresh with very minimal seasoning, all it needed was just some fresh lemon. Every table get fresh bread and roasted vegetables in the house. The service was attentive, our server cut the fish up for us so it was easy to eat. Definitely recommend!

Delicious food, friendly and efficient service, good wine, a great selection and a nice location dockside in Cassis. It's a little calmer as well on this side of the Dock. We had the grilled Sardines and vegetarian lasagne. Both were delicious! A good rose by the glass as well.

Went for the fixed menu at €33, entree, main and dessert. Our waiter was fantastic, going into detail about the different fish on option. The fish soup was incredible, deep rich flavours. Followed by the fillet of the fish of the day, which was served with this saffron sauce. We're in Cassis for four nights and will be back before we leave.

La Stazione is a traditional old-school haunt with red accents and outdoor tables, cooking traditional pizza, pasta & antipasti. They are known for their exceptional service and delicious food. The first night they had space when it was extremely busy, and the next night they were able to remain open despite a flood in Cassis. They made two incredible dishes the second night, one of which was an off-menu salad that was popular with diners.
Everyone was so nice in the restaurant. The pasta was already so good and even better when I added Tabasco!! Superb!! The chef heard that I wanted it to be more spicy and gave me a chilli padi hahahaa so funny but very thoughtful!!

I went in to have dinner there as a solo diner and was told that everything was reserved. It was early and the place was almost empty. I was angry and walked out. The host came out to find me a minute or two later and invited me back. Thank heavens he did, because the pasta was superb. I had the chef's ravioli and it was completely delicious. The staff were charming after my initial experience and I will go back again several times before I leave Cassis. Well worth the very fair prices.

Food is pretty good, overpriced in comparison to the other options nearby. Reason for the rating is the staff is rude and will make sure to upset you when asking for water, a box, or your order.

Don't forget to make a reservation, because this place is worth it! We have had a nice family dinner. The people here are working hard, though are friendly towards anyone including small children. I can't remember a restaurant in Cassis where all the dishes served were worth every penny. The prices are okay and the toilet is clean.

We were really looking forward to dinner at "La Stazione" and made extra reservations a few days in advance. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The staff left a stressed impression, the gnocchi were lukewarm and the promised bread was not brought. Maybe today was not their day. All in all, the restaurant did not stand out from the usual tourist restaurants in the region today. Maybe it will be better another day.

Good food, fresh fish, great drinks, and the views can’t be beat! Fun place for lunch in Cassis! My wife had a Chicken Caesar Salad and I had the plat du jour, a “Hamburger Fish & Chips” which was a breaded fish sandwich with fries. The local Provence wine and gin cocktail were both great, and we finished our meal with espressos. Très délicieux, bon appétit!

We were greeted by a nice female server. Unfortunately we waited forever for our fish. People came, ate and left in the meantime. Fish was overcooked and cold when it was served and although we ordered filets, it was full of bones. Was nauseaus the whole night. Don't recommend.
Eva F — Google review
The only thing worth coming here for is the tap water. We waited 25 minutes just for drinks and over an hour and twenty minutes for food. When it finally arrived, it was awful. Staff never once apologised for the delay. To make matters worse, other tables who arrived 20 minutes after us managed to order, eat, have dessert, and coffee before we even saw our mains. Absolutely dreadful experience.
Oscar J — Google review
Unfortunately not the best experience in France for us. Really nice outdoor sitting area on the quay and the staff were pleasant. Fast to sit down and order and the pre dinner cocktails we had were fantastic. Then the food came....which was terrible. I ordered the grilled steak which was literally a piece of steak on a plate. That's it. I don't think it was seasoned or anything. My friend ordered the fish which he described as thawed (from frozen) warmed and put on a plate. The worst food we've eaten in Europe. Disappointed to say the least. Especially for the price: €30 for the steak?!?
Andrew G — Google review
A tourist trap. Waiting time for food is ridiculous. Food overcooked and small quantities. Absolutely the worst. Do not go.

Food are really disappointed, bad taste, small quantities and over cooked, and much more expensive than normal restaurants. 35 euros for per person but not full. Very bad experience
Abigail L — Google review
Steak was okay tbf Everything was completely over priced and very average , the gambas, 27 euro for 2 pawns and some soggy chips Luke warm service Without doubt our worst meal in France
Jason C — Google review
Stay away from this “restaurant”. Horrible service and food. We waited over an hour for a Ceasar salad that had boxed chicken nuggets on top for the “chicken” , a burger that was leaking sauce all overand tasted like a BigMac and steak frites that were cold and the steak was gristly and fatty. Our server was drinking and laughing behind the bar while we sat with no bread or water. We speak French so there was no language barrier. This was in the off season so it wasn’t that they were busy and they had plenty of staff. The view from the restaurant are beautiful. NOT a reason to eat here. Their sign said “Service non-stop”. What a joke. To top it off, after we paid and left the two waitresses ran outside after us and our kids to ask if we had flipped them off. ?!?!!? We had not. What a weird experience to end an otherwise beautiful day.

While the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The service felt rushed and stressed, which took away from the relaxed dining vibe. Although the starters were quite good, the main courses were a real letdown. Both the pasta and the risotto were overcooked and drowned in grease. Unfortunately, we left feeling underwhelmed and won’t be returning

what a delightful experience — we went to have lunch here, and were welcomed into the little corner of the restaurant that had aircon (what a blessing) we ordered the stuffed mussels which came to our table still sizzling! the steak surprised me because while it looked sparse on that plate it was a tender piece of meat, the beans were delicious and the mash potatoes incredible — the seafood was delicious; the standout was the tuna with capers — with the octopus a close second place (it’s like a beef bourguignon with octopus) really friendly, prompt service and we didn’t wait long for our food to arrive

Good location, super friendly staff and tasty food. Reasonable prices and good beer! Please ignore the nonsense rating (3,5 at the moment of this review, makes no sense at all… that’s why I am writing this review).
João A — Google review
We had a pleasant experience at this restaurant in Cassis. The service was incredibly friendly, and the presentation of the dishes was spot-on. However, while everything was good, there was something subtle missing that kept it from being truly exceptional. For instance, the duck breast could have been slightly more cooked to our taste, and the tagliata di manzo would have benefited from a touch more coarse salt. The sauces accompanying the pasta dishes could use a bit more aromatic depth as well. Overall, we were happy with our meal and would give it a solid 4 stars. It’s a good place, but there’s just that little something that could elevate the experience to a "wow, this is delicious!" moment.
Bartlomiej M — Google review
Food was at best, average. Ordered a fish set menu, not sure which part of the stew was the fish… Service was slow, and the waiters seemed to avoid visitors who aren’t speaking French. We had to ask twice for our desserts to be served. Wished that we read the reviews before entering the restaurant.
Selene.J — Google review
Reading the reviews, which are a real mix, we were welcomed promptly and table wiped. Sadly this is where the good service ended. Our aperitifs came after our food (which took an age to arrive), we cancelled them! My steak tartare was partly cooked by a warming light! Yes kids burgers were burnt and this is the only restaurant in France where I had to ask for bread. We spoke in french so it was not like we were not trying! We also got charged for our aperitifs, which was a lovely surprise 🤣 I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Michel and the entire staff made my wife and I feel like we were regulars - and we're from Chicago. As is the French way, they were very polite, gracious and had excellent recommendations. Visiting this place was one of the highlights of our stay in Cassis.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Unfriendly waiters to the point that we almost got up and left (arrogant, impolite, impatient, do not listen to our questions, bring the wrong order). We should have, as not only their food was not very good (although edible), but also the three people eating beef tartare are sick the day after.
Hannah G — Google review
I’ve never seen waiters so rude in my life. We were a group of 7 people and we were pushed to order to the point we had to bring the menu to one of our friend who was getting the COVID test result so he could sit with us. Waiters didn’t speak English which is fine but they didn’t put any effort in trying to communicate with us. They got 2 of the orders wrong and the food in general wasn’t great, we probably got food poisoning from it.

A good dinner experience in buzzing environment. Food was great, with delicious starters and desserts. Main dishes were also good, but could have benefited from a bit of simplicity. Excellent service. Reasonable wine selection.

This was our favorite meal in France. Come here for an engaging atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, and outstanding food. I recommend sticking to the sea food, although the beef carpaccio was also delicious.

The best food in town, exceptional and quick service, which is rare in regular restaurants. Strongly recommend booking in advance. The food menu is small but greatly executed, fine dining with a provincial feel. I ran out of battery to take more photos but seriously the best restaurant in town and prices are good.

Charming restaurant just steps from the port in a pretty alley. Friendly service, and on of the best meals of our trip so far. Modern preparations with fresh fish. Inside is more festive with music but we liked outside for a relaxing family meal.

Phenomenal! From the staff, ambiance to the quality of the plates. The flavors were exceptional enhancing the protein. The staff was lovely and welcoming. This was one of the more memorable dining for my travels through Europe and one of the best quality for the price I’ve had anywhere. Would love to return again soon.

Hands down the best restaurant in Cassis Produces are locally sourced even the wine ! It is beautiful and romantic inside Service was wonderful … the harbor is wonderful for the views but for good seafood and a romantic dinner check the restaurants off the tourist strip … ask for local fish especially tuna cuts !!! You may end up lucky with some very expensive cuts of fish for under 30 euros

From the moment we got into the restaurant we realised it will be best ever meal. We were looking forward to visiting it! The octopus, steak, vegetables and drinks were amazing and awesome! We forgot about time, place, things…just let the atmosphere control us! The difference and spectre of tastes fascinates We truly recommend it to anyone anywhere! It’s worth visiting 🥹🥹🥹

Divino is an excellent wine bar located near the bustling port area. It offers a peaceful and laid-back atmosphere, with a diverse range of local wines and delicious tartines, as well as cheese, saucissons, and truffle platters. The ideal way to enjoy this place is by sitting outside next to the wine barrels while savoring a glass of rosé.
Recommandation from apartment host. We were not disappointed. Great selection of wine, friendly host and good food. Our kind of place, not too touristy and a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

A wonderful little wine bar with a great selection of local wines and beers, and really friendly, welcoming service. Located just away from the main tourist strip it feels much quieter and more relaxed than the other bars in the area. Loved it.

Italian restaurant
La Goccia d'Olio is a charming restaurant located in a small alley in Cassis, offering delicious dishes served with a smile. The friendly and attentive service provided by the staff adds to the lively atmosphere of the place. While not run by "real Sicilians," this restaurant is known for its fresh and flavorful Italian cuisine, particularly the ravioli and Italian beef. Although it could benefit from some additional decoration, it remains a quiet and pleasant dining spot.
Very good pizzas and nice service.

Extremely disappointing experience. Save yourself the time and money. We arrived at 8pm and we waited for over one hour to receive an appetizer which we shared (it was one small dish). Then we waited for over an hour for our pasta. I ordered the most basic pasta one could which was penne with tomato sauce. It was cold when it arrived and we waited forever to get it. My husband ordered lasagne which was soggy and watery and it tasted awful. As an italian with parents as southern italian cooks, we were shocked at how poor the service and quality of food was. It is inexcusable to wait for a small easy to make meal for 3 hours. We also had to wait over 40 minutes for our wine to arrive. When we inquired about the wait, we were given a snarky response - they have one chef. If they can’t handle the amount of clients then they either need to get more chefs during the busy season or get another chef who can handle it or cut the number of clients. It was an expensive dinner and we left hungry (and we aren’t big eaters to begin with so that is saying something). Like I said, there are plenty of good places to choose from - save yourself the time and money.

(Translated by Google) @ la Goccia d'Olio, you will not be welcomed by "real Sicilians" with pronounced accents but by 2 charming young ladies who will offer you a friendly and diligent service. Obviously knowledgeable about the cuisine on offer. It is lively, composed of fresh and quite tasty dishes. Try the ravioli and the surprising Italian beef!! A quiet and pleasant address, which nevertheless deserves some extra decoration/soul. Met this very loving husband, and down to earth son of Jo and Gaby, Bruno. The owner of La Maison de Jo & Gaby. Great place and lovely Rosé from Cassis of course, a must try Hot Sex Baby Ginger Rum, and mix Tapas.❤️ He named the place after his parents to pay respect. Also, his parent’s name and wedding date were engraved on his wedding ring apart from his wife and wedding date. 😊 So sweet and lovely person. Thank you, Bruno. “It's time to live the life you've always dreamed of.”

La Maison de Jo et Gaby – Our Cassis Local We stopped by La Maison de Jo et Gaby for an evening drink and a light snack, and it quickly became our go-to spot in Cassis. The red wine was lovely, and the charcuterie board was just what we needed—a perfect pairing for a relaxed night out. Though the France vs. Scotland rugby match was happening, we actually enjoyed the absence of TV screens, which allowed for a more intimate, old-school ambiance. This place is all about good conversation, great wine, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Bruno, the son of Jo and Gaby, was a fantastic host—friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about the place. His hospitality made us feel right at home. We consider La Maison de Jo et Gaby our “local” while in Cassis, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, laid-back spot to unwind.

Amazing experience, best wine and wonderful service. The owner/ server puts to rest all stereotypes that the French dislike North Americans. What more do you want from a local wine bar!! Bruno is an amazing host and makes you laugh and feel welcome all at the same time! Le Petit Oyster Bar is a charming and intimate restaurant tucked away from the bustling harbor front, offering personalized service and fresh, delectable seafood. The owner, Michael, provides attentive care to each guest and serves as both the chef and server. The menu features an impressive selection of oysters from Normandy and Ireland, along with delightful seafood platters and flavorful vegetarian options like the poke bowl.
We ducked away from the Easter crowds and found a quiet, sun-drenched gem just around the corner from the bustling port. Le Petit Oyster Bar served up everything we’d hoped for — and then some. I had a plate of local oysters that tasted like the sea itself, brightened with mignonette and fresh lemon. My husband went for the moules gratinées, rich and bubbling with flavor. We paired it all with a chilled bottle of Bandol white wine and a cappuccino entremet from a nearby bakery for dessert. The service was friendly and relaxed — our waiter spoke perfect English and graciously tolerated my French with a smile. Recommended by our favorite local barman — and now by us!

We are so happy to come across this restaurant in Cassis. Excellent and friendly service! Special mention to Jimena! Her English is excellent and served us tip top! Their clam is the best!!! Oyster hour also a good deal for us. We love their house white wine and rose too! Do come by if you are in Cassis! We made new friends too from New York and California! Indeed enjoyable night here. Oh forgot to mention we were here for lunch as well. We returned here so you know how much we love their food and service! Their salads also damn good!

Honestly, I didn’t expect much from a restaurant in such a tourist-heavy area, but they truly surprised me. The charming, cinematic surroundings feel like something out of a movie scene. A tiny oyster bar serving oysters, other seafoods, and salads one street off the more touristy port in Cassis. The oysters were very good, and the charcuterie salad board was equally delicious and beautifully plated. A nice place to stop by for a quick bite after going to the beach.

Bar Le Port, situated on the Cassis port, is a popular spot that embodies the essence of Cassis life. Visitors can bask in the sun on the terrace and savor breakfast with a view. The bar offers a variety of drinks including cappuccinos and wine at reasonable prices. While enjoying the beautiful setting and central location, guests can indulge in complimentary nuts and olives along with friendly service.
It's my favorite bar in Cassis any time of the day. Nice terrace with a view on the port, good drinks, café crème is delicious, lively atmosphere with a mix of local and tourists. The bar is closed on Monday and they don't accept credit cards, you have a pictogram saying that on every table.

Really a great spot for a cocktail or glass of wine. We found this on our first day and enjoyed the mix of locals in the bar and back of the terrace, with the tourists out front. Reasonable prices, great people watching, and no rush at all!! Getting used to the cultural difference where one has to request a refill or check, rather than being pushed every so often by waitstaff in US was fun. Really nice!!

At Grain De Folie, visitors can indulge in oriental coffee scents and enjoy freshly roasted coffee on-site. The shop also sells handpicked roasted coffee beans from around the world.
A lovely little place to sit and enjoy the surrounding life. It's clear to see that locals come here as the owner is a very friendly lady who knows her customers well. I'd recommend coming to beat the heat of summer or getting the last bit of caffeine before hiking to the calanques.

They sell loose tea and coffee beans and only have tea and coffee on the menu but no espresso machine— just an automatic nespresso thing where they push a button. You should not specialize in tea and coffee and not even make a proper cafe. Thoroughly disappointed. Very cute place though and very nice woman— such a shame to be serving this.

The most disappointing coffee I’ve ever had. All the reviews are either fake or sponsored because no way this place knows how to do coffee. Even a normal store bought instant coffee would have more flavor. It was literally just water and a splash of coffee.

With a marine-themed decor featuring shells and brass portholes, the bar and lobby transport guests into a nautical world.
We had the perfect stay at hotel La Rade. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. Parking in Cassis is an absolute asset. The rooms are not large but feel spacious. We would definitely return to this place. The location is great as well as the pool.

Good location, room was ok but well worn and small. Service disappointing, having arrived by taxi we asked for a return taxi. Instead the hotel booked a car which wasn’t a taxi and charged 2.5 times the price. Bad end to the stay

Good location as the hotel is within walking distance to the centre of town, The swimming pool, although we didn´t use it looked comfortable with a nice view. Room a little small for 2 tall people, but it was very clean and functional.
Edouard F — Google review
Very nice breakfast - one of the best of our trip - overlooking the pool and Mediterranean. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location between the town and Plage du Bestouan. Reasonably priced. Parking available for a little extra. Pool was very nice - a bit on the cooler side. No real bar or restaurant but close to many. Room size was okay - with a little balcony. The current average google maps rating for this hotel is 4.1. I don’t know anything about the history of this hotel but, if you take a look, you’ll see that most of the lower ratings are from years ago. This hotel was very nice. The ‘current’ rating should be much higher than 4.1. Easily 4.5+ in my opinion. Great town - we loved it.
Robert — Google review
Can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Above all, it’s the absolute perfect location for Cassis - in 15 years of trips to the town, this is the best location by far. It’s the best of all worlds - walkable, yet accessible by car; 5 min walk to the port in one direction and 5 min walk to Plage Bestouan / cafes near it / start of Calanques hike. It has the benefits of a major hotel chain while also feeling small and local. The main lobby view is heart-stopping; they open the entire wall to the fresh air and incredible view. The pool is one of the best hotel pools ever - ESPECIALLY for being 5 minutes from the center of a town in Europe - this amount of space is unheard of. The staff were incredible - helpful and so friendly. Professional but not pretentious. The breakfast was lovely. I stayed in the most basic room and it was perfectly adequate- good layout, nice air conditioning, good WiFi. I hope to have the chance to stay here many more times in my life!

Extremely pleased with this hotel. It was a big surprise for us. The location is amazing. The heated pool is incredible. It’s large and immaculate. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean. Good size bathrooms. We were given an early check in when we arrived with our 2 babies. Downsides: small-ish bedrooms. The bedding is synthetic. Pillows aren’t great. Views on parking lot. Small balcony (can barely accommodate 2 chairs). Would still def def recommend!
Cécile — Google review
The hotel is overall very nice: not loud, but close to the main town center. The pool is beautiful, breakfast has a wide array of options. Nice views from the pool and the breakfast area/lobby. Plenty of parking. Good blackout shades. Downsides: the rooms are quite small, and the beds are a bit hard, as are the pillows. No drawers to unpack. The rooms look out onto the road, not the sea, though you can't really hear the cars at night. The air conditioning worked but was not very strong.

I recently visited this cafe with my family to get some ice cream and drinks, it was quiet when we visited. As we are a group of tourist, I understand there is an obvious language barrier however I felt the behaviour of the manager to be boarder-line rude. I was queuing for the only loo on the premises when the man, who I believed to be the manger, came over to me and started asking whether I enjoyed my drink. (We had only sat down 10 minutes ago and had not yet been served so I hadn’t even ordered a drink). I explained I haven’t had one, but he kept insisting I had. Then he went on to question me about what drink I had had, and again I explained that I hadn’t ordered one yet. He then told me the loo’s are for paying costumers and that I had to leave. I pointed at my family, who were seated with menus, and told him we were about to order, but no, again he told me I needed to leave and didn’t believe they were with me. Eventually he left me alone, left me without any apology. Then I went in the loo with the broken door handle and then back to my table where our order had to be taken twice as there was a system mess up. The manager even came over to our table to check everything was alright… still no apology from him. I understand there was a strict policy for only paying costumers but a simple apology would have been nice. There were so many little things that made our visits unpleasant. Overall I would not recommend this place!
