Located in Cape May, New Jersey, The Lobster House is a popular seafood restaurant with a lively atmosphere and waterfront views. It offers a full bar and casual dining experience, serving fresh lobster and seafood from the dock for lunch and dinner every day of the week. In addition to its five dining rooms, The Lobster House provides a unique dining experience on the Schooner American, an authentic 130-foot-long Grand Banks sailing vessel moored dockside.
Nice place for dinner. We seated inside the restaurant because we wanted air conditioning. But we realized that seating on the dock or the boat was also cool with sea breeze. We Will definitely choose to seat outside with Take-out orders the next time visiting Cape May. I gave only four stars because we waited for the food very long and it seemed like the waitress was too busy. But she was friendly. In general, I like this place and will come back again.

The restaurant sign at the entrance is large and easy to spot — anyone passing by on their way to Cape May Beach will definitely see it. There’s plenty of parking, which makes it very convenient. The restaurant is divided into three sections: seating on the boat, roadside seating, and indoor seating. Since it was raining when we visited, we sat inside. The interior has a classic, slightly old-school vibe. The staff were well-dressed and courteous. However, we were surprised when the server placed plates on our table that were still wet and had visible stains on them — we had to wipe them ourselves. We started with appetizers: fried calamari, fresh crab meat, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and clam chowder. The taste was decent. However, the staff repeatedly came over to ask if we were ready to order the main course, even though our table was still full of appetizers. It felt unnecessarily rushed, especially since it was raining and the restaurant wasn’t crowded. Once we finally ordered our mains — two lobsters (steamed and boiled) with a side of crab cake stuffing — the server brought us some bread. The bread was tasty and went well with the clam chowder, although it could get a bit messy when cutting. When the lobster arrived, we were excited — we had high expectations, especially from a place called “Lobster House.” Unfortunately, the taste was very average and not particularly fresh, which was disappointing. We eat seafood often and can tell the difference between fresh and not-so-fresh, and this was clearly not fresh. Overall, we were a bit let down. The restaurant is popular and worth visiting for the experience, but don’t expect too much. It could have been better.

We enjoyed a delicious meal, with friendly and attentive staff and a beautiful view of the harbor from our table. When we saw how many cars were in the parking lot, we were concerned we'd have a long wait for a table. However, the restaurant is huge, with multiple dining rooms, and we only waited about 20 minutes. The staff and kitchen were incredibly efficient, we were in awe of how smoothly they were able to serve so many people at once. I had the Flounder Francaise over linguine and it was one of the best meals I had on our two week trip across the Northeast coast. The fish was perfectly cooked with a light egg coating and the lemon wine sauce was delicious. My husband had the swordfish served on a wood plank with duchess potatoes and said his meal was perfect. We would definitely return when in the area again.

Quaint old school restaurant on the wharf with beautiful views and knowledgeable staff with adorable uniforms that take me back. Sandy was a great server. Very accommodating and direct. Food was excellent. It's nice that the salad is included with homemade dressing. The room was a little dark with many customers with flash lights. The bathroom attendant was so friendly.

Wow, absolutely unforgettable. My mom was pushing for us to go here. I’m so glad we listened! Mom is always right. Wow what a delicious meal. Everything was unbelievable. We had Yasin as our waiter. He was very kind! We got : Escargot - so many I was shocked!! Baked clams casino - amazing ! Crab imperial - to die for Lobster house special - best thing to order you get lobster, shrimp and scallops!! My favorite were the scallops. Thank you for a lovely last evening at the shore.

It is one of the more popular restaurant in the area. There was a wait for dinner on a Thursday night. We arrived at 7:30pm and waited about 25-30 minutes for seats. Huge parking lot across the street. Crabmeat cocktail was good. Calamari was not that great. A little soggy and not crispy. Lobster house specialty was okay. The broiled 1.5lbs lobster was a must get.

This place blew us away. Cozy, sea inspired feel and deco. The food was great, lobster bisque was incredible (our regards to Chef John). Emily provided one of the best services we've experienced; she was delightful, attentive, professional + graceful timing. This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Cape May 🤍

Consistently exceptional. The Lobster House in Cape May never disappoints. The bread, salad, and fried shrimp are always prepared to perfection. The Cape May Salt Oysters are a true standout — delicately mild, impeccably fresh, and absolutely delicious. A timeless coastal dining experience that continues to impress with every visit.

Experience the ultimate coastal getaway at Cape May Whale Watcher, where you can bask in the sun on pristine beaches and embark on thrilling whale-watching excursions. Indulge in wine tastings at picturesque wineries, such as Willow Creek Winery and Cape May Winery, or savor craft brews at Behr Brewing. For aquatic fun, head to Moreys Water Park for exhilarating rides and relaxing attractions.
My husband and I loved the Sunset Dolphin Watch! We got to see numerous dolphins and the captain pointed out many interesting landmarks, gave some Cape history, fun facts about ocean life in the area and really was fun to listen to. You could tell he loves the island and the water and knows it well. We were very happy with the cruise overall and would recommend to our friends. We would like to come back soon for the afternoon whale watch!
Meredith H — Google review
Lovely boat ride. Polite staff. We had small children on the boat and they worked hard to keep them safe. Unfortunately, the weather was so so, and it was difficult to stay outside. Also, while we saw several schools of dolphins, after two hours, the whales decided to stay hidden. I know it's a game of roulette, whether they will appear. Boat was clean. The snacks and drinks were a bit overpriced. A nice trip.
Meryl M — Google review
This was our third dolphin watching trip and the first sunset dolphin watch. As always, it never fails to disappoint! The dolphins were so close and the sunset was breathtaking! We also enjoy listening to the captain talk about dolphin facts as well as the history of Cape May. It's all very interesting.

Wonderful excursion! Website was user friendly. Instructions and directions were spot on. Vessel was well maintained. All staff and crew were friendly and helpful. The Captain’s commentary was informative and entertaining. All that AND multiple whale and dolphin sightings on an absolutely gorgeous October day. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Perfect Family Sunset Cruise Experience! We took the Cape May Whale Watcher sunset cruise as a family of five—with three kids ages [14, 12 & 5]—and it was a highlight of our trip! From the moment we boarded, the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. The boat was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor seating (which was great for our youngest who didn’t like the wind on her face). The best part? We saw so many dolphins! They swam right alongside the boat, and the kids were absolutely thrilled. The sunset views were stunning—Cape May from the water is something you don’t want to miss. We also really appreciated the complimentary hot dogs and pizza. It made it super easy to enjoy the ride without worrying about food before or after. This cruise is the perfect balance of relaxation for parents and excitement for kids. We would absolutely recommend this to any family visiting Cape May.

Today, my hubby and I celebrated our 17th anniversary on the Cape May Whale Watcher. I couldn’t give the experience a perfect 5 because we saw no whales but everything else made this a PERFECT 4. I’ll explain. When we arrived, highly visible crew people in red tee-shirts helped us park in a free parking lot. Then we went to the gift shop to get our boarding passes. The waiting area was a set of comfortable picnic tables with giant board games. Once we all boarded we were on our way. The captain made announcements that we mostly heard but an upgraded sound system could make it clearer. He spoke of the various marine life that was under the boat. The boat itself was very comfortable. There were ample indoor and outdoor seats. Hubby and I chose to sit outside. Shortly into our journey we encountered a pod of playful dolphins. They were frolicking in fun ways that delighted us. Like the captain said, they won’t pose for us but it was fun to be in community with them. Then the captain strove to find some whales for us to hang out with but I guess the whales chose to stay underwater when we went. It was a little disappointing but I appreciated the efforts made. I also loved just being out on the water. The crew was very capable and the ride was so smooth. I saw a few folks catching relaxing naps. Including my neighbor’s toddler. The water tends to lull folks. Hubby and I loved the trip and would definitely go again.
Kelli M — Google review
Thank God for the staff for holding the boat as we were a few minutes late. The boat was great with indoor and outdoor seating. There was out door seating with and without shading. Although we did not spot any whales we did see plenty of dolphin pods. The captain was funny, sassy and had plenty of knowledge of the aquatic life. We had a great time. There was also plenty of restrooms and food available for purchase on board.
Hope N — Google review
The whale watching tour was pretty good fun. The captian was a very good orator! He spent hours talking us through the history of Cape May and the buildings that were well over 150 years old. Who knew the history could be so interesting. The light house is a beautiful landmark with history of its own. No spoilers. Many many interesting factoids and we hadn't even gotten out of the cape. The dolphins were everywhere, bottlenose dolphins with their babies calves! The educational aspect from the captain was very inspiring. So many facts and delivered with a sincere passion. I mean it, this guys voice was perfect and moving during the entire trip. A lot of rare factoids about the family business and future endeavors. The prices were right. The ship was roomy and one could roam about as desired. They served beverages and alcohol in the ships bar. There was plenty of FREE pizza and hot dogs for the hungry traveler. As many as you wanted to eat. They even offered whole pizzas to go when the tour was finished. They rent binoculars but the dolphins were very close. The whales however were much farther away. A few whales came to the surface but were pretty far off. I would fully recommend this tour for your family even with little kids. Along with clean restrooms and friendly staff, this is a 5 star tour!

This four-acre property features a tearoom, the Carroll Gallery showcasing year-round art exhibits, and various tours to experience the old Victorian house at different times of day. This house is a gift to any Frank Furness and turn of the century and Victorian enthusiasts. The tour guides were truly stellar and added such value and depth to the experience. A highlight of our Cape May visit.

We pulled into park and were slightly early so went into the gift shop(once we figured out where it was) That's where we learned that the trolly light tour doesn't pick you up at the Estate but rather downtown where parking is like finding a needle in a haystack. I assumed based on it stating the tour is only 30 minutes and assuming we departed out of here, we'd be fine on time, although it was probably a tight timeframe. We had a 5:30-6pm Estate tour and a 6:30-7pm Light Trolly Ride. The estate tour was somewhat disappointing but I guess it's maybe because it wasn't what we thought. Estate was nicely decorated with lights & there was a decent size parking lot. We were told to wait outside in front of the building 15 minutes before but weren't really told what to do so everyone kind of just clustered up. It was a HUGE group. Seemed like staff were unprepared for the number of people and ended up splitting the group into two. There wasn't really much direction given and it was more of a drawn out re enactment as opposed to giving factual information about the estate. We only got through the first 2 rooms in a half hour, the amount of time they say the tour is. We had a trolly booked for 6:30 so we didn't stay longer. We would have liked to hear some factual background on the house, the way they lived, etc. I hate being "nit-picky" but unfortunately this was slightly different compared to tours we normally do. *Also, we only made it through 1 room in 30 minutes so expect this to be an hour or 2 tour. It is impressive how restored the estate is though and it's beautiful.

Love it. Loved Ken our tour guide too. Beautiful piece of history preserved. I highly recommend a tour.

I absolutely lose my mind over historical gems such as the Physick Estate that have the entire house to peruse! The tour guide was fantastic & really went through every possible detail on the family & the history. Came with my friends on the first day of our CM vacation on a weekend. Pretty easy enough to purchase tickets ahead of time at the gift store. All in all a perfect way to spend a few hours learning about the local history! Highly recommend!!!!

Very beautiful estate where we learned about Emlen Physick. We built a scarecrow, learned about magicians, and listened for ghosts
Lisa S — Google review
Excellent information and beautiful estate. We had a large tour group of about 10-11 people and there was not enough space in all the rooms for us to fit. The last ones in saw nothing until on the way out and then we were rushed to the next room. We came to see the room, the furniture the artwork. It's all lovely. We can forgo some of the story to drink in the details. Please let people really see the rooms, allow time for people wander a bit in them, and have smaller tour groups so there is enough room for everyone.

Cape May Beach NJ is a picturesque peninsular city located at the southernmost point of the South Jersey Cape, nestled between the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. This charming destination boasts a 30-mile stretch of sandy white beaches, offering gentle surf, boardwalk entertainment, over 600 Victorian-style homes, and excellent fishing opportunities. The city's wide beach is divided into 16 different sections, each named after nearby streets intersecting Beach Avenue.
This past July I got to experience Cape May for the very first time w group of friends for a week long vaca. The beach is absolute heaven though I will say because we stayed at the nearby Ohana Beach Resort we already had the day tags so did not have to deal with any of the purchasing. I love that those of us at the nearby hotels would set up the umbrellas early in the AM & lay claim to the spots closest to the water. This beach is large & though it def looks crowded it never felt it. There were singles, couples, families, lil babies, teenagers - you name it -- I saw it. But everyone is very respectful of one another, no loud music, no loud noise, great life guards - just a lovely peaceful beach where you can enjoy the water. Can't wait to go back!
Grace A — Google review
Nice location, but overpriced and poorly managed. Cape May Beach has beautiful views, but the experience was disappointing overall. They charge for everything — entrance per person, beach chairs, umbrellas — and yet offer none of the basic amenities you’d expect. No toilets, no showers, nothing. For the price, you’d think they’d provide at least the essentials. Definitely not worth the cost.
Ayesha T — Google review
I don't mind paying, since there are lifeguards.... But some people charging at the entrance are rude. Plus there is no bathroom or any facilities... Bring cash, if you use QR code there's an additional $2 charge.

Very clean beach. Soft sand. Very relaxing. My mom and dad are from Brasil and they love it. They can't wait to spend the day here. Family friendly. $10.00 for day pass per adult. There are $40.00 season passes and weekly passes. Definitely worth it. I do the day passes.

We always love cape may. Beautiful. Big. Many times look out and see dolphins. People are not on top of each other. Nice shops. Nothing bad to say.

Groomed beach with lifeguard requires $10 beach tag, includes restrooms with shower, promenade with view of Victorian hotels. Very warm water at this time includes some jellyfish and an array of crabs.

The oldest beach community in the US. Clean quite, family 👪 friendly. The views are amazing and the residents take care of their community. The beach is well maintained and the access to the beach in the summer one must purchase a beach tag. It's worth the price. Great waves amazing sunsets. It's a little pricey but worth the trip

Washington Street Mall is a charming pedestrian street in Cape May, offering a nostalgic experience with its specialty boutiques, eateries, and dessert shops. The area is known for its gourmet offerings, including a selection of cheeses and charcuterie at The Cheese Shop, sweet and savory treats at Cape May Peanut Better Co., and exotic spices and flavored oils at The Spice Cellar/Olive Oil Co.
Wonderful family times and many memories are what we've always experienced at the Washington Street Mall. This visit was no different than our many in the past. A nice walk, some shopping, a visit to the Pink house, the Peanut butter shop, a walk on the beach, a family meal, and so so much more. Thanks Cape May for another great family memory!

such a cute little street mall and I love all the stores here. it’s the classical beach city street mall you’d expect from any place and it’s better than a boardwalk, you get the same amount of jersey heat but it’s definitely more enjoyable than dusty sand toes. the washington street mall provides more luxury than a boardwalk and is definitely the place if you want to pretend you’re living your dream preppy, coastal designer life. i spend hundreds here every time and I don’t regret it at all, there’s always another cute little souvenir (but i suggest you don’t get distracted by all the merchandise with the city name on it unless you’re not coming back, invest in some cute jewelry and a treat or some more quality clothes). still lots of handmade and local sponsorship and i love this place, i hope to see it flourish even more!

A fabulous place to shop at any time of year...but I particularly enjoy visiting in September! The crowds are a little smaller, and the weather is perfection! During my most recent visit I snapped up a gorgeous new hat, a fun fall cover up, and beautiful moldavite earrings! Definately worth a visit!

What a great way to spend several hours. There are a multitude of eclectic stores for everyone's taste. You can seek out your favorite Cape May t-shirt, find you child something to ccupy themselves on the beach, or bring your favorite four-legged friend a treat from Collar and Bone. Once you're finished your shore shopping, entertain yourself be indulging in one of the several eateries located on the mall. Round out your time here with the ever-present ice cream shoppes.

Washington Street Mall is such a charming spot in Cape May and absolutely a must-visit no matter what season you’re here! It’s the kind of place you can easily spend a couple of hours exploring because there’s truly a store for everything — from unique boutiques and gift shops to sweets, souvenirs, and more. Parking is paid and can be a little difficult to find, especially during busy weekends, but once you’re there, it’s worth it. The whole area is walkable, beautifully kept, and has such a welcoming small-town feel. There are also plenty of great eateries and cafés tucked around the mall, so you can shop, grab a bite to eat, and then keep strolling. It’s the perfect mix of relaxing and lively, with something for everyone. Every time we come to Cape May, we make it a point to stop here. It really feels like the heart of the town!

A wonderful time with wife open, dedicated walking only with very nice shops lining both sides. Were from Lewes/Rehoboth and the quality of stores just seemed of a higher standard. Very nice restaurants lining it as well. A beautiful day trip coming over on the fairy. We took our bikes for a 45 minute ride too the mall. Only 6 miles. A lovely time with mostly bike lanes from the fairy to the mall but not all. Id highly recommend the trip or visit.

Ben & Jerry’s is a renowned ice cream parlor chain originating from Vermont, celebrated for its inventive and playfully named flavors. The establishment offers a wide array of options, including classic favorites like Half Baked and Cherry Garcia, as well as non-dairy alternatives such as Cookie Dough. Customers appreciate the accommodating and friendly service, especially for those with allergies, where staff members are willing to open new tubs of ice cream and use sanitized scoops to ensure safety.
speedy, great service with no complaints! ben and jerry’s has a wide variety of flavors posted up on their wall before you come in as a little menu, which are all kosher and any dietary restrictions are clarified under the flavor — where non-dairy is separated under the color geeen and sorbet is separated in pink. the ice cream here is highly delicious and is hard to melt but it still doesn’t feel rock solid when you’re eating. the staff here are very polite and the introductory board for the employees is really cute :) i love the message that ben and jerry’s spreads with classic flavors that we all love!

Love this location when I’m down in Cape May! It’s located right on the mall strip, they have a decent area for outdoor seating but it’s also a great option just to grab and walk around too since there’s seating areas all around the mall. The portion sizes are huge though - could be good or bad - I usually stick with kids sizes!

My boyfriend and i always enjoyed coming here but this year it’s been a let down. our first day we got a small in a cup and a milkshake. The milk shakes are so thin because of how much milk they add it was barely enjoyable. But our total was $16.23 without tip. fast forward 2 weeks later we go down order the same small cup and same sized milkshake and again milkshake is super loose and not enjoyable and somehow our total was $19.50. When i asked for a receipt because i couldn’t believe the price went up over $3 she said the printer jammed and was unable to reprint. I won’t probably be back for a while considering i’m spending $20 for milk and a small scoop.

Located by the Cape May harbor, it is known for its classic American dishes like fresh seafood, steaks, and burgers. The menu also includes small plates and dinner specials such as their renowned scallops. The full bar serves craft cocktails, local beers, and an impressive wine selection.
We had a great first experience here a few weeks back. Excellent shore vibes, friendly hospitality, fast service, amazing food. Especially loved the calamari (perfect texture, great add-ins) and scallops (so sweet lightly fried but not greasy), plus the delicious carrots that were on special. Drinks were on point as well. Chocolate mousse was the cherry on top for dessert! Can’t wait to return again later this summer 😎

Another fantastic meal at Mayer's Tavern. Tonight I had the yogurt marinated chicken. It was really hard not to get the scallops but I was just there last week so I convinced myself to try something different. Family who I had dinner with both got the scallops and when their plates were delivered I was feeling a little regret looking at the amazing plate of scallops but that quickly changed when I took the first bite of my chicken. The chicken was just as fantastic as the scallops. A perfectly cooked airline breast with crispy skin and tender juicy breast seasoned nicely and served with polenta and greens. Everything I have tried has been really well prepared, thoughtfully seasoned and complimented by sides and sauces that elevate the flavor of top quality ingredients prepared with attention to detail. Can't wait to return and try some more great menu items or specials. If I lived closer I'd be a regular for sure. Very limited menu but what they do they do very well. Great dishes I've tried: Scallops of course, mussels, crab fritters, yogurt marinated Chicken, Zucchini and Squash with green goddess dressing (app special), chocolate mousse.

Mayers is the best in town. We crave their food. The scallop platter, the burger, the kale salad , the clams……😀 Update on 8/2/25: They took the clam appetizer off, but added this crispy chicken app. Though i was very frustrated about the clam appetizer getting pulled :( , the crispy chicken app blew me away. This chef and crew create tastes that you would have never thought existed. The bread pudding is the best you will ever have. This place is amazing.

We dine at Mayer’s a few times each summer and it is a nice, off the beaten track establishment. A lot of the food is fried but they continue to add non-fried items. They’ve added more specials this summer including fresh fish options. The portions are flavorful and fairly priced. The bar is nice and cozy and often packed. The indoor restaurant is small and can get full quickly on inclement days when the outside porch dining is closed. They always have a unique wine list with offerings from many smaller, lesser known vineyards. There is some parking next to the restaurant and usually street parking can be found. We enjoy dining here and think you will too.

Very nice place to stop. Casual but classy. Easy to get a seat. Specials available. Indoor and outdoor seating for 1,2 or groups. Bartenders are attentive. We would go back. Walking distance from South Journey Marina.

I always get a burger my first time at a restaurant if I'm unsure if they make good food or not. If they can't make a good burger, the rest of the food is going to suck just as much. I'd rather spend $19 on a burger than $45 on a steak or seafood to find out they use frozen grocery store meat. Not the case here. Really great burger. Obviously ground, not frozen or store bought patty, with a nice blend, great flavor, and well put together end product. My wife's scallops, the fries, and the desserts were also all excellent. Servers were great and were very gracious even with my toddler making a mess on the floor. Prices are reasonable. Nit picks: the bourbon lemonade kind of a foofoo drink (I should have asked beforehand) and is very lemon sour forward and needs a higher ratio of bourbon (for people who actually want to taste bourbon), and they won't split a check, even 50/50. Pretty silly in this day in age. But oh well.

Had dinner with the wife and daughter here Thursday night, 9/18/2025... This was one of the best dinners we have ever had. FIVE STAR everything at a very good price. The oysters, the bluefish, the squid, the tile fish....Everything was fresh and prepared and presented perfectly. And the wait staff even better. Will be going back again for certain. Thank you for a great experience...

Great drinks. Friendly staff. Great food. Let us sit and chat and finish our drinks even after closing time. Can’t wait to go again when I’m back next summer. Kale salad and Cold Front drink outstanding. Wine list really fun and modern.

Vintage BYOB

If you're on the hunt for a distinctive dining experience in Cape May, NJ, look no further than Vintage BYOB. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Emlen Physick Estate, this charming eatery has quickly made a name for itself since opening just a few years ago. With its casual atmosphere and creative menu that features an intriguing blend of flavors—often with a Greek twist—Vintage caters to diverse palates.
Outstanding food, ambiance, and service! Went for brunch and brought our own champagne for Mimosas. The menu is eclectic and we each struggled on what to order because everything sounded so amazing! We'll have to go back and try everything else! This trip was the short rib benedict, crab benedict, and a crab cake sandwich. Order any of those and you'll be happy! Portions are huge and delicious!

This was my first time here, and we were the second guests seated at our table, so I’m giving a 4 star rating for now and will update after my next visit at a different time. We came for brunch over Memorial Day weekend, and I had the salmon salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly—not overdone—and the salad had just the right amount of dressing. A great experience overall!
KAREN C — Google review
Could be better! We tried this place based on the reviews. Love that it’s BYOB. 4 people, 2 apps & 4 entrees was about $200 without tip. If you eat “indoors,” it’s basically outside but in a large enclosed tent. Which is fine, if the food was better. There’s no bathroom inside, you walk outside of the eating area, and down a walkway to the restroom. Compare the restroom vibe to a festival set-up or camper park. It wasn’t clean. We got the Chicken Meatballs as an app, comes with 5 small meatballs. They weren’t worth the $18 & I don’t recommend. The Baked Brie appetizer was really good! Has a sweetness from the jams on it, very delicious with the crackers. The Duck Confit was pretty good. The zucchini could’ve been cooked a little better because they were soggy and needed salt. The Barrumundi Brimmed was not good. The fish was rubbery and you couldn’t taste any jumbo crab. We also didn’t know what a Barramundi was until now. The menu might have it spelled wrong unless that was intentional. The Lamb Shank dish was a bit slimy. The waitress also did not ask how we wanted it cooked and it came out medium-well.. for the price, it could’ve been better. The Avocado Feta Salmon was OK. The salmon itself was the only good thing on the plate. This place has potential. They can be “antique-style” and vintage-y if they put in more effort to making the place nicer, including better standards on the food and atmosphere. If you want an elegant vintage place, you can have the rugged look but the food needs to be above standard to make the environment an appealing experience! Overall, the meal was disappointing & each meal came out lukewarm-cool. We went to our house and ordered a pizza & desserts from Blue Moon Pizza... so if that says anything at all, there you go.

We really loved our whole meal- particularly the octopus appetizer, and the short rib and lamb shank entrees. The seating outside on the patio under string lights was beautiful and really made it all extra enjoyable. My husband and I can’t wait to go back!

Great spot for a small group dinner! We sat outside and it was lovely. Everyone loved their dishes (recommend the spanakopita, lamb, and chicken meatballs). Staff was beyond fantastic and took care of us like family.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch here. I had a delicious Panini. Food was prepared very well. Service was good. It is an outdoor facility under a permanent type tent. Rained the whole time we were there, but we were dry and comfortable. However a trip to the restrooms required going outside to a small building near the parking lot. We had reservations, but probably due to the rain, there were empty tables.

410 Bank Street Restaurant is a charming dining spot located in a Victorian carriage house, offering an upscale Creole-Caribbean cuisine experience. The restaurant's warm ambiance and refined setting make it perfect for special occasions and romantic evenings. With enchanting views from its large windows, the establishment exudes a vintage feel with wrought-iron chairs adding to its classic charm.
Must-visit spot! The blackened prime rib was tender and full of flavor, and the baby lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The cozy atmosphere in the historic carriage house added to the charm. A truly memorable dining experience!

It’s been a while since I last visited, but I had an amazing time this time! The food has definitely improved, and the service was good despite being a busy night. We tried the soft shell crab special for $54 and the primary rib for $80 for 22 ounces. It was delicious, even though it was a bit pricey. Overall, it was a great experience! One suggestion that I would propose to the restaurant is to upgrade the wine glasses. If not water glasses, the wine glasses appear to be quite antiquated, which does not reflect the quality and value of the $410 meal. They are so outdated and deserve better.

Had a very lovely dinner here. I thought the food was delicious and unique especially when eating a lot of seafood down the shore. We tried several of the fish and scallop dishes all were amazing. Service was great answered all our questions and described each dish perfectly. If you like flavor and a Creole southern style then this is the place for you. It’s also BYOB and they take reservations. Book about 2 weeks in advance!

Chef Tony Primavera has raised an already amazing Cape May landmark to another level. Appetizer, lamb chops, scallops, shrimp. Entree shellfish gumbo. Dessert, authentic key lime pie. All spectacular. As a table we basically had eight different items and were all impressed. We will be back… if we can get in! When service, ambiance and food are all this good I know last minute plans won’t work.

Pretty disappointing meal tonight at 410 Bank St. I have to say it was some of the ugliest food we’ve ever had at such an upscale restaurant. We expected so much more. A special, Tuna Ceviche sounded wonderful. Instead my first thought was “is that a stew?” It was not a ceviche we’ve ever had that is fresh, clean food. This was a brown sauce that looked like beef stew. It tasted okay but was very unappetizing to look at. Same with the oysters and steak app. Mushy crostini in another brown sauce. Where is the chef with beautiful presentation? My red snapper was very good but the zucchini on the side looked like something out of a frozen bag. This was an expensive meal but one of the most unappealing looking meals I’ve ever had. Someone clearly is lacking on presentation in the kitchen.

I first visited this restaurant when it opened in 1984. I remember it was so special and wonderful then. I recently visited 41 years later, and it was by far my favorite restaurant of the week. The food was absolutely outstanding. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere is so charming. I plan to return to Cape May next summer and we’ll definitely dine there again.

The Cape May Lighthouse, built in 1859, offers stunning panoramic views from its top and features an oil house-turned-museum with a gift shop. Visitors can also enjoy various activities nearby such as golfing, dining at fine restaurants, boating, kayaking, saltwater fishing, crabbing, dolphin and whale watching, sightseeing cruises and more. Additionally, the area is home to several attractions including the Cape May Zoo and Wildwood's famous boardwalks.
We didn't climb the lighthouse this time because I believe we did in the past. The fee to climb is $12 per person (adult). You can see the area near the lighthouse for free. They have a little garden type of place and a boat which used to be a rescue boat back in time. It's a beautiful place, very well maintained. There are 2 accesses to the ocean nearby, but that's not for swimming. High free parking lot. A food truck can be found during the summer season in the parking lot. I recommend visiting the Cape May lighthouse. I love climbing them. Lighthouses have individual histories. It's a nice place. Cape May, New Jersey USA 🇺🇸

We visited on 8/20/2025. Climbed with 5 boys aged 3-7 years old and they had a great time. The stairs inside are pretty wide and there are stopping points by the windows, as you go up/down, to rest or let others pass by. The views at the top are definitely worth it!

Must see attraction. Beautifully preserved site. Managed by super polite people. The climb is worth the scene from above. Also must visit the souvenir shop, the older gentleman is so adorable. The museum alongside is very interesting. Hike on path trails and time your visit with sunset to watch from the beach. It's breathtaking Plenty of parking available

The Cape May Lighthouse is such a stunning spot! Even without going up to the top, the surroundings alone are worth the visit. The area around the lighthouse is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm — perfect for a relaxing walk and to take in the scenery. It’s a great place to enjoy nature, history, and the coastal views all at once. Definitely a highlight in Cape May!

Fun place. You can go up inside the lighthouse too. It was free for us to visit. It was a great place to take photos. They even have a gift shop and oil house. The beach is right behind it so it’s a nice spot. They have a play area and lots of parking. We went in off season though.

This is a great family activity with a cherry on top - great views from the top or this well maintained and still working Lighthouse. This place offered a great exercise climbing 199 steps up and then going down but the most impressive thing is the amazing views of all of Cape May, the ocean, and the Delaware Bay. Highly recommend this experience when in Cape May on a clear day!

What a neat place. Don't like heights much, but going down the stairs wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. 199 steps. Each window alcove had pictures and explanations about the structure and what life was like. Nice view from the catwalk(?) that you are allowed to traverse. Wish the gift shop had lighthouse pens! There was access to the beach from the parking lot, a mini museum, and boardwalk trails around the ponds, with opportunities for birdwatching. Ran out of time to do all three trails. Worth visiting!

Beaches
Sunset Beach in Lower Township, NJ is a picturesque destination offering a range of activities for visitors. The beach is known for the submerged ruins of the concrete SS Atlantus and quartz crystals scattered across its sandy shores. Additionally, the area boasts excellent camping facilities, golf courses, and bird watching opportunities. Families can enjoy collecting Cape May diamonds, searching for shells and sea glass, and taking leisurely walks with their pets on the dog-friendly beach.
Sunset Beach in Cape May isn't just a location; it's a daily spectacle that feels like a masterpiece painted by nature itself. As the sun begins its descent, the sky over the Delaware Bay transforms into a breathtaking canvas of fiery oranges, soft pinks, and deep purples. It's an east-coast rarity—a chance to watch the sun melt directly into the horizon over the water. But the magic here extends beyond the sunset itself. The beach is a treasure trove of unique charm. You can hunt for "Cape May diamonds," small, naturally polished quartz stones that gleam in the sand, or explore the hauntingly beautiful remains of the SS Atlantus, a concrete ship that ran aground nearly a century ago. These unique features add a layer of history and wonder to an already stunning scene. For a truly poignant experience, be sure to catch the evening flag ceremony, a heartfelt tradition that honors veterans as the day comes to a close. Sunset Beach is a place for reflection, for connection, and for witnessing one of the most stunning natural performances the Jersey Shore has to offer. It's a must-see for anyone who wants to experience the sublime beauty of a Cape May sunset.
Eric S — Google review
Maps didn't put my pictures in the order I chose them but you can see how beautiful the sunsets are! Not only are the sunsets beautiful at Sunset Beach, but you can also search for "Cape May Diamonds" in the sand. They are the pebbles that have become clear over time. You may want to grab a little something to eat before you go if you are planning to eat at the restaurant. My son wanted a little something and it would've been a 3 hr. wait! I have gone to Sunset Beach many times over the years and seen differing sunsets. My son's favorite was when we went to see the sunset, but there wasn't one because of a lightning storm further out in the ocean. It too was a beautiful part of nature to watch. He was wishing for a thunderstorm this last time we went!

Amazing beach. So many rocks and shells. The gift shops are amazing. There is a ship wreck near and you can take fun photos. They have the viewing binoculars that you can pay a quarter and see. The one gift shop has a mini golf place. Go to the gift shop in the off season. Such a fun place. Great places to eat too.

Sunset Beach is a must-do during our beach vacations. Arrive early to experience the moving flag ceremony—it’s a highlight. The beach is especially beautiful during golden hour and perfect for family photos. There are also shops and food options nearby, adding to the charm. Parking can be a challenge. While there are a couple of small lots near the beach, they fill up quickly. We often end up parking on the street and walking.
Mark S — Google review
We passed this beach by on the trolley while tiring around Cape May. The place is beautiful and seems very popular and liked by locals. The shop near the beach is so cute and it has so much beautiful stuff including famous Cape May diamonds. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. All in all, it’s a great place to stop by for a day at the beach with the family. We will definitely be back for more!

Always a fun time at Sunset Beach. We came back to visit after many years. Still digging for those Cape May diamonds!
Michele — Google review
Grew up coming here every summer and some nights take your breathe away. A must stop on your vacation to the Jersey shore. Best nights to go are when the skies are clear (limited clouds) and during the week. It gets crowded but worth it. Have seen countless engagements here and families pictures. Just spectacular. The gift shop has adorable crafts and gifts, as well an example of the famous Cape May diamonds. Bathrooms on site and plenty of parking in the lot as well as on street.
Sandra — Google review
I think the beach is slightly overrated. In the season so many people come to see the sunset that it's very difficult to find parking. The beach itself has rather course sand that looks a bit dirty. Nice view of the shipwreck.

Nestled in the picturesque Cape May Island, Willow Creek Winery & Farm is a charming destination offering tours and wine tastings amidst lush vineyards and gardens. The impressive 12,000 square foot wine tasting room with its outside brick patio and fireplace provides an inviting ambiance for visitors to savor the vineyard's wines. With a 50-acre vineyard benefiting from a unique climate, the winery produces exceptional red and white varietals.
Great food and good wine. Amazing scenery, and superbly pleasant staff. Had Dylan as our waiter and he was knowledgeable and courteous. The buffalo chicken dip is great, the willow whip is really fun and tasty. The best part was probably the setting; indoors and out the place is beautiful. The reds are nice, but a nice icy drink like the willow whip or sangria will be great with outdoor seating.

What a great experience at Willow Creek Winery - it’s a beautiful place with really good food and wine. I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating - tons of photo ops. But it was Heather who went above and beyond to make sure the wine flights we selected were suited to our tastes and our experience exceeded expectations. She was spot on, also. We all enjoyed our picks! She was so friendly, knowledgeable (answered all of our questions about grapes, barrels and more) and patient (explaining and re-explaining)! A total hidden gem in Cape May. Will be back for sure and thanks Heather!

This was my first time visiting a vineyard, and Willow Creek Winery & Farm truly impressed me. The drive in already felt special—passing through rows of beautiful vineyards before arriving at a full parking lot, showing how popular the place is. The winery offers two styles of service: one with table service and another where you order and then find your own seat. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely, and I highly recommend going around 4–5 p.m. when the sunlight is soft and perfect for photos. Normally, I’m not a drinker, but I had to taste their wines, and the menu I tried was so delicious. Overall, I really loved the experience here—it’s not just about the wine, but also the relaxing vibe and the beautiful setting.

Heather was the best server with the best suggestions. Our visit was extremely pleasant and we will be coming back to try the combo platter and have the highly-recommended, signature willow whip again (our favorite for the day). The Wilde cock white bottle was good for crispy white wine lovers, and the wild cock prestige white bottle was even better if you are a Chardonnay lover.

First of all, this winery has some very good dry wines (I was more prepared for NJ sweet stuff, but their Malbec was truly exceptional); they have wonderful premises with lots of picturesque vines to stroll through; food menu is solid, with some great highlights: bacon wrapped scallops were incredibly flavorful, pulled pork sandwich juicy, and burger a perfectly balance mouthful (sadly, fries was very good, too!). Highly recommend to anyone in the area

Our stay at Willow Creek Winery was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and so peaceful. The property itself is stunninglush vineyards, beautiful scenery, and such a relaxing vibe. The wine tastings were incredible, with a great variety to choose from, and each one was delicious. The staff was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Our stay on the property was just as wonderful. The accommodations were clean, cozy, and thoughtfully put together, giving us that perfect mix of comfort and charm. Waking up to the view of the vineyards felt like a dream. Everything was so well taken care of, and we truly felt like we could just unwind and enjoy ourselves. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a fun trip with friends, or just some time to relax and sip amazing wine, Willow Creek Winery is the perfect spot. We can’t wait to come back! 🍷🌿The Staff were so sweet and kind. Ps We LOVED THE SEASONAL WILLOW WHIP SOOOOO GOOD

A lovely winery!! Tons of seating both indoor and outdoor so you don’t need to worry about having a reservation. They also have a fun Alice in wonderland theme going on. Perfect scenery and location, especially being so close to beach plum farm. The food was really good- one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve had! Only complaint is completely my opinion and I’m probably being picky but the prosecco was SO sweet (too sweet for a prosecco) and a bit hard to put down. The drink prices in general are steep for what you get, the wine is decent, but not amazing (I also tried the white wine my husband ordered). I would still definitely go back since it’s a beautiful property, staff were pleasant and attentive and the food was delish. 5 stars all around because I didn’t try enough of their wine selection to have a reasonable opinion.

Exit Zero Filling Station is a laid-back eatery with a nostalgic diner atmosphere and an option for outdoor dining. It's a unique blend of a gas station, airstream trailers, bar, and restaurant that seamlessly come together in one of America's oldest beach towns. The establishment offers a diverse menu featuring burgers, curries, and cocktails. The weekly magazine named after the place adds to its charm.
My wife and I visited this past Wednesday night, and we both loved our meals. I had the Christmas Curry and she had the Bang Bang Shrimp and Chicken curry. Both dishes were amazing and delicious! A lot of thought went into the menu and decor, and our server was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. This was all a wonderful dining experience. Very special.

We came to eat here at the end of August. The atmosphere was very nice. It had outdoor seating with charming decor. We came at opening time on a Monday, and live music was being setup. Our selection was Indian Disco Fries, Brussels Sprouts, and Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp. The fries were pretty good. I liked the mild curry flavor paired with the creamy goat cheese on top of crispy waffle fries. The Brussel Sprouts were great! They were crispy and a bit sweet. We weren't big fans of the curry. It was okay, but perhaps a bit too mild and toned down for our taste. The chicken and shrimp were also a bit overcooked. Overall, it was a pleasure eating here, and I'd come back again.

I love coming here every summer, especially for their curry. However after today I will never go again! We ordered the Butter Chicken Curry as usual, which came out to be nothing like it was before! The sauce looked almost separated with oil/butter. And mixing the rice in/ stirring everything together only made it worse! It was like a spoonful of oil every time you picked up your spoon. We also ordered the naan bread, which came out wrapped in aluminum foil rather than a plate! One of our forks was also dirty/ still covered with food, therefore we asked for another and got a new fork that also had food on it! The place and decorations were all the same. Our waiter was super nice and even took the curry dishes off the bill. But I don’t even think I could ever come back to that place after seeing that as my dish. And in the end I didn’t feel like I was eating at a restaurant, felt like I was eating at an overpriced fast food place! Also they have completely shortened the menu so don’t expect everything to still be there. The menus are a double sided piece of paper that they reuse to everyone even after rips and food stains from guest before

Been a while since we stopped here but I never wrote the review. Very interesting concept that works for nice summer days. The food was amazing! The lobster Mac and cheese had more lobster than noodles and was delicious. My wife got the butter chicken that I thought I wouldn't like but the flavors were so complimentary to each other and it ended up being my favorite dish. The only reason I gave 4 stars was the burger I got was barely average and tasted rather boring. But will stop again if we are riding down this way.

Interesting and innovative eatery. Ordered a chicken curry that was a very odd flavor. Curries can vary a lot and this is their style, and they do try to explain the heavy coconut milk base. I was most unhappy with the offering of a Nan that was just a pita wrapped in foil. Really?

When visiting Cape May, be sure to check out the West End Garage, a former garage and gas station that has been transformed into a shopping destination. This award-winning spot offers a wide range of items including fashion, art, photography, antiques, jewelry, vintage finds and home decor. With over fifty different shops featuring contributions from vendors in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, there's something for everyone at the West End Garage.
Great place to spend time indoors if needed in Cape May (rain or a sun break). Loved the variety of shops and the café connection and also that it's dog-friendly. My favorite discovery was the local The Flying Fish brand who has a studio/store just across the street. Thankful my cashier told me about it!

A nice collection of shops! This spot is well worth the walk from downtown Cape May, offering a diverse mix of antiques, clothing, original art, photographs, and unique Cape May souvenirs. There is also an excellent coffee shop to enjoy. Keep in mind that parking can be a bit challenging during the busy summer season.

i really love coming here with my family. There is a lot of really unique items in here! unfortunately this time we came across this one booth (i believe it was the Small Wonders booth) that had a lot of really cute polymer clay frogs. super cute and handmade! unfortunately this same booth had its walls filled to the brim with AI Slop art printed onto its canvases with stupid sayings underneath that were all being sold for $60 minimum! not only is this AI garbage being sold for more than stuff produced by Humans at the same store but it’s also horrifically ugly with tragically unfunny captions. AI art steals from actual artists and shouldn’t be sold in the same place that wonderful handmade items. if you’re too weak to draw without a computer making it for you then maybe it’s time to pick up a pencil and learn instead of charging absurd amounts for something you contributed zero effort into! I still love the uniqueness in this store and the wonderful human artists they platform and showcase! i just wish there was some type of policy in place to prevent ugly, low effort AI garbage from being sold.

Nice variety of vendors and cool items. Experience tarnished by checkout. Took me days to decide to purchase $120 of unique items, and the blonde older lady at the checkout just threw them in a bag. No cushion. No paper. Nothing. Second time with the same experience with this same (unfriendly abrupt) woman. Vendors deserve a better final impression of the place.

You hit up here and Washington Street Mall and you have done all the shopping you need for Cape May. I love that it's a mix of local brands, local artists and unique antique/vintage finds. A trip to CM is never complete without a walk through ❤️

We love stopping into the West End Garage on our visits to Cape May! The West End Garage offers many personalized and hand made items located in the kiosks located in the building. They have so much decor and gifts to choose from; you name it and they probably have it somewhere! The staff are very helpful and the cafe located on the side of the garage offers very nice drinks and pastries.

Great place, but they need to moderate their vendors. Bought a ring from a stall with a bunch of jewelry. It was a little spinner sun ring for 20$. I bought it. Later, i lost it. Sucks, but unrelated. The important part is that when i googled to see if the seller had a website, i found the same ring on shein for $2. I get that it's not exactly their fault but you'd think they at least try and see if the seller are scamming people. Not buying anything from there again without researching first. Smh.

This was one of my favorite places to shop in Cape May. There were tons of small shops selling a wide variety of different things. The coffee shop here was the best I had during my visit to the area. The pastries at the shop were way above expectations. This i feel is a cool must visit spot with a lot to see and shop for.

Seafood restaurant
The Black Duck On Sunset is a charming Asian-influenced American BYOB restaurant located in a traditional seashore house at the beginning of Sunset Boulevard in West Cape Bay. The restaurant offers a casual and cool atmosphere with wicker-paddle ceiling fans and tropical palms, reminiscent of an old porch in Cape May.
I'm finishing up my salmon and it is awesome! Got it for take out, and they gave me some bread for dipping in the fantastic broth/sauce. I had some bad experiences at nearby restaurants and am very happy I gave Black Duck a try. They were very friendly and quick for an amazing meal. Pretty sure the pasta that comes with the salmon is handmade, certainly delicious...and don't trust the hours on Google as they are open more than it appears, give them a call!
David P — Google review
Overall good, expensive, upscale, with a dedicated chef and a reserved staff. I suggest you take your desert to go and watch the sunset on the tip of Cape May, a perfect way to end the day. Easily one of the best braised beef dishes I've ever had. The meat was tender with a slightly sweet taste that really complimented the beef. The shrimp was slightly spicy, fried perfectly. With the full mellow sweet potato and tangy kale, the dish was perfectly balanced. My friend had the duck and enjoyed the risotto. Well cooked but the fat and skin of the duck was tough which is understandably hard to perfect.
Steven H — Google review
The Black Duck has lost its luster. The new owners don’t seem to understand the difference between running a gastropub and a fine dining establishment. We dined at the Duck for decades because we could always count on a consistently excellent menu, professional table service, a prix fixe menu, and the best lobster bisque on the cape. While our meals were good enough they lacked finesse. And we were seated in an impossibly uncomfortable space wedged between two doors — one leading to the kitchen and the other into the main dining room. We wish the new owners well as they seek to attract a new clientele. We won’t be returning to the Duck any time soon.
Gerry O — Google review
Fancy and interesting byo menu. Red snapper with corn crab salsa and avocado mousse. Chilled crab bisque. Salted caramel ice cream over peach and cherry cobbler with a caramel drizzle. I found the duck tasteless but enjoyed everything else.
Avram G — Google review
The Good: Cozy atmosphere, easy to find, free parking. The Bad: We ordered a steak with potatoes and asparagus served with arugula and balsamic vinaigrette dressing and we ordered the salmon. The salmon was great and is the reason for one of the two stars. The steak was luke-warm and the asparagus was cold. The potatoes were the only hot food on the plate. The server offered to get me a new serving but I didn't want to wait for it. He didn't charge us for my meal which is the reason for the other star. The kitchen's timing was poor; the food should have come out hot altogether. The staff was not warm or friendly. Our server was pleasant, but the prices and ratings had my expectations higher. It was pretty tight in the dining room and noisy. Seating is kind of on top of eachother.
Mike B — Google review
The food is amazing along with the service. We had the orange almond salad, lobster bisque, lamb chops, halibut and flourless chocolate cake. We highly recommended The Black Duck
Sandi S — Google review
Friendly service and delicious food. Definitely recommend 😁
Colleen F — Google review
We tried this restaurant on a whim and they did not disappoint. I had the most delicious crab cakes and my BF had the halibut special, which was fantastic, sauces for each were equally complimentary. We also enjoyed the creme brulee and bread pudding. Service was good, as well. Missed the 5 stars, the seating was a little tight at our table; i felt as if i were sitting between 2 people at the 4-top behind me.

Excellent food! BYOB. Went for a birthday dinner and they made it extra special. The prosciutto motz sticks were something we tried and they were delish! Our pasta dishes were flavorful and all the sauce was good.

We get take out pretty often and it’s always a 10. Online ordering is super simple and the food is always piping hot! Prices are unbeatable. Last night, we had the gnocchi, chicken parm and lasagna. Everyone loved what they got! Thank you for being consistent and always good!

One of the best Italian food you can have. We were party of 9 with 3 children. They accommodated us and gave us great service. Food was delicious too! Will certainly visit again.
Anil K — Google review
I’ve eaten here many times in the past, but tonight’s meal was a total fumble. I guess everyone’s doing the same thing now, downsizing portions along with quality but raising prices. We’re done here. Overpriced and just not worth it anymore. Chicken parmigiana was an embarrassment, tonight’s seafood special had flavor, but consisted of pasta and two small scallops and two shrimp. Shameful when you have to do things like this. When you have to eat a turkey sandwich two hours after leaving a restaurant? There’s a problem. “The new norm.”
Donald R — Google review
Finally found this place as the sign outside is small and luckily saw an advertisement with a high rating. The food is delicious with large servings and bread for the table. Our visit was so much more enjoyable because our server Carlee was very sweet and friendly! We will be back next September!
Irene W — Google review
Was looking for authentic Italian food and sad to say this place was not that. Almost all of our dishes were so dry that we went through three bottles of water just to get the food down. I had the Rigatoni Country Style, the pasta and chicken were so over cooked you could not swallow them without water. My wife ordered the Capellini Carbonara ( frozen peas ) and the pasta was so stuck together you could pick up the whole bowl with just one fork. Kids ordered the veal Mediterranean and Chicken piccata and both were ok. Service was nonexistent and the place was half full and so loud you couldn’t hear anything your table guests were saying. If this is what locals consider authentic Italian food, then they should really take a ride to NY were authentic Italian restaurants make their own pasta and use seasonings in all of their sauces. Would recommend the Olive Garden over this restaurant.

Seaside Cheese Company is a delightful shop in Cape May that offers over 135 different types of cheeses. The friendly proprietor is knowledgeable about cheese pairings and can recommend the best wines to complement them. In addition to their extensive cheese selection, they also offer specialty oils and a small menu of sandwiches. The shop has a spacious seating area where they host community events such as cheese tastings and watercolor painting sessions. Visitors appreciate the warm welcome and the opportunity to sample various cheeses before making a purchase.
We enjoyed our lunch here. They have a small menu of sandwhiches as well as the expected large variety of cheeses.

This has been a great addition to the Cape May community. I enjoy their big chicken salad sandwich and coffee. The shop has a great selection of cheeses and speciality oils, and the owners are eager to please. They have a spacious sit down area where they host community events, like watercolor painting and cheese tastings. They've been open year-round, unlike a lot of other local shops. Any place that enriches the community is an asset.

We love this little cheese shop! We visit every time we are in or around Cape May. The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. Samples of any cheese are always available upon request. Definitely a place to stop if you like cheese. Also try the hot pickles, they are out of this world.

This place is awesome! If I could give it six stars, I would. My wife and I reserved the place for a cheese tasting one evening--we brought our own bottle of wine and got to choose cheese from 3 different countries. After that, the cheese (and crackers, almonds, fig spread, etc.) flowed freely. Overall, a "private tasting" here is one of the best things you could possibly do in Cape May.

OM goodness!!! So So So good!!! We had the plain grilled cheese of the day (I can't remember what it was but wish I could), the special of the day (Strawberry festival meant strawberries, brie, and nutella were on the menu), and finally, chicken salad. Can't wait to go back and try something else. And, lunch was under $25 total. Well worth the stop!! Would definitely recommend!!!

Great assortment of cheese from around the world sold by finger depth chunks. Hot food was well cooked. Egg, cheese, and sausage on a really fresh ciabatta roll was huge and tasty. And the mac and cheese was not overly creamy but had a mild bite to it with al dente pasta. Chicken corn chowder had well balanced seasoning. We couldn't leave without getting some cheese chunks to take home. Very reasonably priced for the outstanding quality.

Westside Market, under new ownership by Chris and Kristen Angeli, has undergone a transformation while maintaining its early 1900s general store charm. The market now offers a revamped interior, an expanded retail section, and a new specialty sandwich menu alongside old favorites. Patrons can enjoy breakfast options like egg sandwiches before heading to the beach with a bag of delicious hoagies and house-roasted beef sandwiches.
Absolutely a fantastic Place to grab some food before setting out for a day exploring Cape May. The subs at Westside Market were loaded with fresh ingredients and the bread was the best! I wish my local sub shops had bread this good. The service was fantastic and very friendly and the orders were made quickly. We loved the store and stopped in here for sandwiches to take to the beach several days during our visit.

Stopped in for coffee and ended up having lunch inside. The people working were so friendly and helpful. The muffins are excellent. We had a Pistachio muffin which was awesome. Ham and cheese sandwich. We also bought some candy. They have a wide selection, a lot of which most stores do not carry. If you're in the area and are looking for breakfast, lunch, or meats for a BBQ this is a place that should be at the top of the list.

Westside Market is a reliable little gem offering solid sandwiches and a surprisingly wide variety of prepared foods, snacks, and essentials. It’s an easy and convenient option—especially if you’re heading to the beach. The sandwiches are fresh, perfect for a no-fuss picnic or casual lunch. Definitely worth a stop when you’re in town.

Westside Market is a great little spot in Cape May. My wife and I stopped in and had the chicken cutlet and the chicken salad sandwiches, along with a few drinks. Both were delicious, the service was excellent, and the market itself was clean and charming. It feels like the kind of place locals are lucky to have, with milk, eggs, meats, and other essentials in stock, plus a nice variety of sandwiches and snacks. A convenient and tasty stop that we’d happily return to.

What a nice place. I'm more fond of the back area near the bar, it has a more relaxing vibe. The food was very good, the apple pie french toast was excellent. I'd go back any time. Very friendly staff. Haven't been here in 12 years but still as good as I remember .. I will mention i would have preferred not to hear the Rhianna album the entire time I was there but you cant always get classical or Sinatra

Soild brunch spot in Cape May! Even with a 45 min wait, the experience was totally worth it. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff was welcoming, and the food delivered big on flavor. The corned beef hash was the highlight—crispy, tender, and deliciously seasoned. Breakfast potatoes were spot-on too. Portions were reasonable, and the chicken salad croissant was a pleasant surprise in both size and taste. Highly recommend for a laid-back, tasty brunch!
Will S — Google review
Not as impressive as expected This restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast options, so I had high hopes. I ordered the Brussels sprouts fritters, but they didn’t taste as good as I expected. There was still a strong, unpleasant green taste from the vegetables, and honestly, I don’t think deep-frying works well for this dish. I also tried the award-winning cupcake, but it was just average—nothing special. The pancakes were underwhelming too; I’ve had better at other places, despite all the hype in the reviews. The orange juice was supposed to be freshly squeezed, but I couldn’t tell if it actually was. It tasted overly sweet and artificial, more like something with added sugar than real juice. The one dish I did enjoy was the eggs Benedict—the thick-cut bacon made it really satisfying, and that plate was the highlight of my meal. Overall, it’s a place you could try, but you’re not missing out if you don’t. There are definitely better breakfast spots in the city.

Had breakfast here the day before, eggs a pancake were good enough so came back the next night for dinner. What a mistake. I had both specials massaged kale and couscous ok, the monkfish etouffee flavorless But the real reason for the review is the chicken breast with the cream jus. Cold dry chicken that was definitely a day old. Are waitress Joanna was the only bright spot of this place . Honest, polite, courteous It’s a shame she had to apologize for the food and the flies . Highlight: ✨️Orange Almond French Toast✨️ One of the best flavored French toasts I've ever had! No reservations, walked up and were given a buzzer with 1.5 hour wait time. Told by staff to come back to area 45 min after receiving buzzer. We were ready and seated within 10 min of coming back (50-55 min total wait). Service was good. Food arrived after a short wait (we were very hungry so it felt longer than it was) All requests were accommodated quickly and food was well made.

George's Place Beachfront is a beloved eatery that has been serving American and Greek cuisine since 1968. With multiple locations in Cape May and one in Wildwood, it has become a landmark dining destination. The newer Ocean Street location offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as takeout options, while the original spot on Beach Avenue provides a charming cash-only, BYOB experience.
This place is a hidden gem for breakfast. I don’t think many people know about it. I found it searching Google for places near my hotel room. There was no wait at all which I was surprised since it’s a Saturday morning in July and the place is really small. My husband and I both enjoyed our food. I like the breakfast options. Only negative was the coffee was very watered down. Not sure if I got a bad batch or if they always make their coffee this way. I would definitely come back!

We love it here! Great value for money, great food. We've sampled both breakfast and lunch, both are great! Breakfast has standard offerring and some more creative items (limoncello French toast). Lunch brings out more of a Mediterranean flavor. The Gyro is flavorful and hearty for example. Everything well seasoned, nothing bland, portions not stingy, service is pleasant. Cash only I believe. Someone mentioned its a hidden gem and I agree, its unassuming. Actually quite refreshing in comparison to other cape may restaurants.

I visited Cape May this weekend for the first time since my Coast Guard graduation in 2022 and decided to have breakfast at George’s Place with my wife. Unfortunately, the experience reminded me that racism still exists, even in places that promote hospitality. From the moment we sat down, the only interaction we had with our waiter and waitress was to order, receive the food, and pay the bill. They never checked if everything was okay, never offered refills, and completely ignored us the entire time. Meanwhile, every other table around us, filled with white customers, received attentive and friendly service. When I finally asked for more coffee, the waiter (with an Italian accent or similar) brought it with a bad attitude, spilled some, and didn’t bother to clean it. After paying, I chose not to leave a tip because of the poor treatment, and the same waiter (Italian accent) followed me outside, confronting me and saying it was “disrespectful” not to tip, even though his service was clearly intentional and unprofessional. The food itself was great, but the service was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. Being followed outside over a tip after being ignored during the meal was unacceptable. It’s sad that in 2025, this kind of behavior still happens. To my fellow Coasties and anyone who values respect, think twice before supporting a place that treats people differently based on how they look or speak. Racism is real. Thank you to the male waiter (with an Italian accent) for reminding me of that today, October 25, 2025, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:50 a.m.

We have had dinner here several times in the past and it was excellent. Today I was the first time for breakfast and it was great- beautiful luxury teas, high end jam and a generously portioned Norwegian Smoked Salmon platter. It felt like breakfast and lunch combined - served with a toasted bagel over a generous bed of greens and the best olive oil I have ever tasted. This is not a diner in the traditional sense with an all day menu. I consider it a restaurant open for three different meal times, each with their own upscale menu.
Dolores P — Google review
We love all the George’s places haven’t hit wildwood yet but we will. You can count on the consistency throughout the different spots. I always get the gyro it was just as good here as the other spots the platter. Ones with a healthy portion of potatoes like a fries chip but they are delicious either way we love them it also comes with a side of salad also a healthy portion. The management knows how to train everyone and are able to transfer the experience throughout their restaurants which I appreciate. My wife gets the salmon scramble which she loves love loves it’s a great deal. Plus they serve breakfast till like 2pm making it perfect for a breakfast person like my wife and s lunch person like myself. If you are wondering it’s definitely worth going. The one on the beach offers views of beach street which at the time we were there had the starlings murmurations flying in and out great beach diner atmosphere court.

Located adjacent to the renowned Congress Hall in Cape May, The Blue Pig Tavern is a long-standing establishment that offers a warm and rustic dining experience. Whether you choose to dine on the patio or in the cozy dining room of this 1800s hotel, you can enjoy updated American fare.
We had dinner at the Blue Pig Tavern during a recent stay in Cape May, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable meals of our trip. The restaurant is lively and welcoming, with a bit of a buzz in the air. It’s clearly a family friendly spot, which shows in the higher noise level and the number of tables filled with multigenerational groups. We chose to eat indoors, but many diners seemed to love the outdoor seating area as well. Even though the restaurant has plenty of tables, it’s a good idea to make a reservation. They do take walk ins, but the wait looked long by the time we arrived. Despite being very busy, the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and especially helpful when it came to answering questions about gluten free options and how certain dishes could be modified. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and the scallops, both prepared gluten free. The shrimp were fresh and well chilled, and the scallops were the standout of the night, tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The rest of my family, who don’t have any dietary restrictions, were equally happy with their meals. One of the favorites was the lobster mac and cheese with added bacon, which came in a generous portion that made for great leftovers. My husband couldn’t stop talking about the mussels and the crab cakes, both of which he said were excellent. Dessert was another highlight. While the gluten free options are a little limited, the ice cream and sorbet are both very fresh and creamy. Everyone else at the table gravitated toward the apple pie à la mode, which was the favorite across the board. My youngest son had the flourless chocolate cake paired with a hazelnut gelato, and he absolutely loved it. The cocktails were just as well executed as the food. There was a small issue with the second drink my husband ordered, but the staff handled it gracefully and quickly. The fixed version came out perfect, and it was nice to see that kind of care taken in a busy setting. Overall, Blue Pig Tavern delivered a memorable dining experience for our whole family. The atmosphere is vibrant, the service is professional, and the food, especially the scallops, is worth the trip.

My partner and I enjoyed lovely dinner at The Big Blue Tavern located inside the beautiful Congress Hall Hotel. The rustic, old-school vibe gave it a cozy charm, and the location couldn’t be better- right in the heart of Cape May. We took advantage of their Restaurant Week deal ($50 per person) which was a solid value. The food was delicious. I started with the fried calamari, crispy and well-seasoned—followed by the chicken with mashed potatoes, which was tender and satisfying. My partner loved the steak and frites, cooked just right. The apple pie for dessert was a classic, sweet ending. Service was good friendly and efficientand the overall experience made it the best dinner of our Cape May trip.

My family and I stopped by the Blue Pig for an early dinner and had such a wonderful experience. We didn’t have a reservation and were a big party but they got us seated outside like we requested. It was so beautiful outside. The service was great. The parker rolls were excellent! We ordered a bunch of different entrees and they were all excellent! So happy we stopped by here and will be sure to come again next time.

We stopped at the Blue Pig Tavern for dinner after having drinks and bang bang shrimp outside in the famous rocking chairs at Congress Hall. We decided to eat outside in order to enjoy the gorgeous September evening. The atmosphere was perfection. The food and service left a little bit to be desired. The place was not overly crowded, but our waitress was not very attentive, as we sat with empty water and glasses, waiting for our wine. Given the prices, I was hoping for a better experience.

Went here for lunch, got the steak frites, the turkey bacon avocado sandwhich and sangria. Steak frites was on the money, I wish I had a better picture but I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. This steak could easily compete with a top rated steakhouse. The sandwhich was really good, fries were perfect, and the salad was good too. I cant say the same fornthe sangria, it wasn't for me but I did try it, it seemed to lack authenticity. Dropped in a few pieces of fruit and some red wine with a spritz of something from a bar soda gun (grenadine or maybe cranberry). Not horrible but not too good.

We had a fantastic dinner at The Blue Pig Tavern in Cape May and honestly can’t understand why this place isn’t rated higher. From the start, the fresh rolls and butter were out of this world, seriously some of the best we’ve had anywhere. We shared the lobster mac and cheese and calamari appetizers, and both were outstanding. The portions were generous, especially for a resort town, and the lobster mac was packed with meat, at least four full claws plus more throughout. For entrees, I had the gnocchi alla sorrentina (which was rich and perfectly cooked), my wife had the fish and chips (crispy and light), and our kids devoured the burger and mac and cheese off the kids’ menu. Every dish hit the mark, flavorful, fresh, and well-executed. On top of that, our server Laura was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend The Blue Pig, great food, great value, great service!

Attached to Congress Hall, this is a dining must when visiting or staying in Cape May. Much of their food is sourced from their other property, Beach Plum Farm, in West Cape May. We stopped in for lunch and were very impressed with both of our meals. The lobster roll was moist and delicious and the superfood bowl with salmon was also a great choice. They provide indoor or outdoor dining weather permitting.

We just arrived home from a week stay in Cape May. We had our breakfast at The Blue Pig five out of the seven days. The ice coffee is beyond perfection, each meal was delicious, along with great service. The female manger was so welcoming/happy, gifted my child a pig sticker each day and knew where we preferred to dine. Was very enjoyable and relaxing, we definitely will be back. My six year old who is a very picky eater enjoyed her variety of meals as well. The only restaurant who didn't clear my meal/drink when dinning as a solo parent with a small child. Thank you for the hospitality!!

Tisha's Fine Dining is a charming restaurant in Cape May that offers a diverse menu of New American cuisine, including sandwiches and burgers for lunch. The establishment prides itself on providing an enjoyable dining experience with a selection of delectable dishes. Tisha's also offers tasty side salads on both their lunch and dinner menus, such as the classic Cobb salad and the House Specialty salad with grilled or crispy chicken. Additionally, patrons can savor the simple yet delicious Kale Caesar salad during dinner service.
This restaurant deserves five stars all around! The service was great. The atmosphere is quaint. But the food is definitely spot on. Everything from the appetizers right through to the dessert was amazing. No complaints had by anyone at the dinner table, and we went with a big group. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a more luxurious meal.

We have been here multiple times over the past few years, and the food and service are always above and beyond. Danny has been our server the last two times we have been here and he remembered us and even where we sat the last time. We came today to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary while in Cape May. We are from Pittsburgh so we are only here once a year or so. We always make a point to stop here for dinner while vacationing in CM. The food is always delicious but the service is more so what keeps us coming back. I can’t speak highly enough about this restaurant. If you’re looking for fine dining while in Cape May, this is the place to go. Thank you, Tisha’s, for always making us feel special!

Came here for dinner for my cousins bachelorette weekend. Love a great BYOB and this place came highly reccomended. Service was great and food was phenomenal. Would definitely go back if I go back to that area. The calamari was EXCELLENT, burrito a peach salad was ok, the peaches weren't ripe so that was a little underwhelming. The Halibut that had on special was incredible, so fresh and cooked perfectly. The filet was delicious but the peppercorn(in my opinion) was a little too much to my liking. The seafood risotto was very flavorful and cooked perfectly as well. The gnocchi was great too.

Went off season for lunch. There was no wait and they were able to accommodate our stroller outside. (They had heaters so even though it was a little chilly we were super comfortable.) We shared a Cesar salad and my husband had the salmon po'boy. The fish was cooked perfectly. I had the scallops and risotto. It was a smaller portion, only 4 scallops, but I think it is technically an appetizer, and actually it was the perfect portion for me. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the people watching. Service was very attentive and not rushed at all.

Very romantic place for dinner. We had lobster bisque and it was excellent! My chicken pasqual was really good. My husband had the pork chop with apples and it was cooked to perfection. The gnocchi was terrible. Gummy and tough. Our server was ok, got the job done but no warmth at all. Overall it was a great dinner and we would go back.

Congress Hall is a historic 1816 hotel located in Cape May, New Jersey, offering a picturesque setting opposite the beach. After undergoing a $26 million renovation, this Federal-style property now boasts sea-inspired rooms and modern amenities such as Tesla charging stations. Guests can relax at the outdoor pool or beach cabanas, indulge in spa treatments using natural ingredients from the Atlantic, and enjoy dining options on-site. The hotel's Great Lawn provides a charming spot to unwind while taking in ocean views.
Congress Hall is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to it reminds me of back in the day when everything was actually built to great standards and customer service mattered. The pool is beautiful. The interior is gorgeous. The staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend it for you and your family. It reminds me of what it was like as a kid to have a good time. That’s hard to find these days. A+ from me.

This is an amazing place for a beach getaway. The staff are friendly and accommodating and they always try to honor requests. Our room was on the 4th floor with an ocean view. It was neat, clean and nicely furnished. The Blue Pig restaurant on site was awesome. The skillet for breakfast was my favorite. Carrot juice was delish. Its best to get there early as it gets packed fast. Congress Hall is super close to restaurants and shops and walking is the best way to navigate everything. The beach is across the street and they provide towels and beach chairs and umbrellas. You can even order food and beverages on the beach was was very affordable. There's a nice pool which is usually heated.

Spa's desk person, Evette was absolutely wondeful. We didn't stay there but family member got a message. The spa was wonderful and steam room was added treat. The hotel could put the LOUD birthday parties not right outside spa windows (or get noise stopping windows!)

The Congress Hall with the outdoor restaurant is the best place to relax and have lunch, dinner or just a glass of wine in Cape May. I've been coming here for lunch for over 20 years. The outdoor restaurant surrounded by beautiful flowers is stunning. You can watch special events and enjoy the lovely atmosphere. I feel like on vacation every time I come here. My favorite dishes are the egg omelets, fresh salads and desserts. They have the best key lime pie and creme brulee in Cape May. The service is excellent. Highly recommend the outdoor restaurant.

We came to Congress Hall for brunch on Mother's Day. It definitely didn't disappoint. Walking into the hotel felt like we were in a Ralph Lauren ad. The ambiance was truly spectacular. The room was decorated beautifully, and there was piano music being played in the background. That was such a nice touch. It was very relaxing. All the mother's were given a rose when they arrived. The food was all exceptional...everything was so good. We tried almost everything! The attention to detail is what sets this apart from other places. It really is all about the experience, and Congress Hall definitely does not disappoint. We have been raving about all of this since we left. It really is the place to go!

I love Congress Hall - the amenities, the location, the spa, the pool, the beach service is all 5 stars. This is a Perry Suite at the Congress Place Suites specific review. Location is ideal if you want to be situated in the center of it all! It’s on the Washington St Mall, across the street from Congress Hall, a short walk to the beach, walking distance to countless restaurants, shopping and activities. However, minus one star for the noise. It’s loud. You will hear all the buzz all night long. Even with the sound machine we placed on the window sill. The Perry Suite is great if you are looking for a home away from home. It has space and the convenience of all full kitchen. So why just a one star review? The shower was a huge inconvenience our entire vacation and was never addressed after making concierge aware. The shower head points directly out of the shower door and was not adjustable to point down or away from the door. Even with the door “closed” (see pictures), puddles and puddles of water continuously leaks out onto the shower floor. The Perry Suite is designed with families in mind. We had 4 people in my family taking daily showers. ALL the towels in the bathroom then needed to be utilized to mop up the large puddles of water on the bathroom floor. I messaged the concierge about the issue and they told me maintenance would come but same exact shower head remained in the shower so not sure what was accomplished. We were so frustrated with the situation that I had my kids shower at the outdoor pool showers so I didn’t have to spend as much time cleaning up the bathroom floor while on vacation. Additionally, the suite did not come with a shampoo bottle or a shower cap. We got 2 bottles of body wash and 1 conditioner. I asked concierge for shampoo and a shower cap. Only received shampoo the next day. Lastly, the bedroom. Although cutely decorated and very comfy, the windows need blackout shades. The street lights kept us awake (along with the street noise) each night. The shades on the windows let in too much light, even at night. Upon check out, we did speak to the front desk about the issues with the Perry Suite. Front Desk said they would file our complaint. Never heard back and it’s been over a week. Received an online survey, filled it out explaining all the issues with the stay, asked for the general manager to call me. Never heard back. I’m disappointed to say the least. As a repeat guest, I expected more. We have stayed at Congress Hall and the Virginia in the past and both times loved our vacation. The price point for the Perry Suite is too high to be mopping up the bathroom floor with towels each time someone takes a shower. Blackout shades, shampoo and shower caps are also standard in 4 star hotels. A manager reaching out to a disappointed guest to make things right is customary and makes customers truly feel like guests. I hope they take surveys and google reviews seriously to avoid more unhappy guests in the Perry Suite in the future.

When visiting Cape May, don't miss the opportunity to embark on an ocean safari with your furry friend aboard the 90-foot-long American Star at the Cape May Whale Watch & Research Center. This center has been offering in-depth marine animal tours since 1987 and is dedicated to promoting conservation through research and education. On these cruises, you can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including seals, dolphins, and native birds.
We went on 5/30 for the 10am 2hr tour and it was a wonderful experience! We saw dolphins, osprey, a bald eagle, and the best part was seeing a humpback whale 🐋 The naturalist was very knowledgeable and the whole crew was so friendly. In addition to learning more about the wildlife we encountered, they also tell you about the local sights and history. I love that they are dog friendly too! Windy enjoyed the trip, happily sniffing the sea air and watching the dolphins. They are part of Whale SENSE so you know that it is also a safe and respectful experience for the marine animals too. It was such a great time. Thank you!

We had a great time on this boat tour. The crew were very informative. We saw many dolphins. I love these boat rides that take you out to the ocean and teach you about the marine life. You'll surely enjoy this boat ride. We did the 3 hour afternoon ride.

We had an amazing journey around the island! Between seeing a single dolphin before we even left the harbor, seeing a large pod of dolphins with all of the information that goes with them (courtesy of Director of Research Melissa L.), and the geographic information provided, this was an excursion that I did not know that I needed. I highly recommend you skip the other tours and go with Cape May whale watch and research center.

Our trip aboard The American Star was just awesome. What a great sunset cruise we had. Families, couples and singles would enjoy the relaxation of the ocean but also hearing from the naturalist about the various dolphins & birds. Amazing price, something to do while you’re visiting the Cape. A great time was had by both of us.

8.2.25• our first whale watch cruise• Today was amazing 👏 there were SO many dolphins with their babies 🥹 and one that was just born!! Baby dolphins are born with a dark coloration, often appearing almost black! Which I just learned 🙃 + jelly fish & a 10'+ giant manta ray jumped out of the water twice! No whales this time. We can't wait to do this adventure again! 🐋🐬🌊🐚🦞💦🦈 Fresh, clean, beautiful boat. Food, drinks, bathrooms & gift shop on board! Thank you, to the crew for an awesome & educational time! -Eric, Jessica, Aubrey & Roman 🌞

Very nice & knowledgeable staff. We were able to see dolphins & birds. Unfortunately we couldn't see whales during our trip (better luck next time). The staff conducted multiple informative sessions for kids onboard. They also showed the importance of keeping away ocean waste when we saw a couple of birthday balloons floating on the ocean surface & they collected it with their tools. Free parking onsite. Groupon purchase is cheaper than purchasing tickets via their website. Please call them & reserve with the redemption code from Groupon.

We had an amazing time. The company, the staff deserve 5 stars and no less The crew on board was polite, esp the guide was providing a running commentary about all important sights and buildings The girls in the booth were super sweet and polite Our ticket included pizza & hot dog , but the boat canteen/Cafe charged everybody 2$ for it Us too I told the girls while on the boat, they immediately solved it by giving us good refund The bad part: the man running the food kiosk CALLED me while I was sitting on upper deck, he yelled - YOURE LYING!! I DIDNT CHARGE YOU , COMPLETE LIE. No no no no you lie! I told him- keep the money it wasn't about 2$ anyways and for threw people we just "bought" one pizza slice We didnt need the money or food The ship company are more than generous and cooperative, the cafe person was horribly rude But the sunset, the dolphins, the view made up more than for it Will definitely come back

The Brown Room at Congress Hall is a luxurious and historic lounge in Cape May, offering classic cocktails and a chic ambiance. The 206-year-old hotel reopens in mid-February after winter holidays, inviting visitors to experience its refined setting with lavish artwork, a grand fireplace, and a circular bar. Guests can savor drinks like the Congress Hall Perfect Manhattan or Blackberry Ramble while enjoying the elegant Prohibition-era lounge atmosphere.
The Brown Room is a classy bar inside Congress Hall with a timeless feel. Bartenders in white jackets and black ties set the tone, and the space itself has a touch of speakeasy charm—without having to track it down. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with velvet couches, a half-circle bar, and live music that makes it feel like you’re enjoying cocktails right in your own living room. On weekends, the vibe is especially lively. I had their Old Fashioned 🥃 and it was perfectly balanced and delicious. Creative custom drinks, great ambiance, and a touch of elegance—The Brown Room is definitely worth a stop.

The Brown Room is an excellent, well designed cocktail bar that used to be among my favorite bars anywhere but definitely the best in Cape May. When I first started coming here years ago you needed a reservation and there was an element of exclusivity which enhanced the experience. It was a relaxing top tier atmosphere with live music and excellent cocktails. They seem to have significantly softened on the reservation / entry policies and the place has become a free for fall. Tons of kids at times which I don’t feel is appropriate for this setting- all the other dining areas in Congress Hall are much more kid friendly. It’s often too crowded and they seem to have done away with reservations altogether even for Congress Hall guests which I can’t understand. The cocktails are still great as are the bartenders and the live entertainment but the overall experience has been really disappointing of late. I would really consider going back to a reservation based system and having some level of crowd control.

Always a nice time in the Brown Room! Although it's very hard to get in, we sometimes get lucky & get seats. I love listening to the music, enjoying a cocktail & sometimes something to eat. Recently I enjoyed the cheese/charcuterie plate. Service is good. I remember this place used to take reservations & they no longer do. Perhaps they should go back to that so that everyone gets a chance to get in there as some people camp out there for hours! The interior is so lovely!

We want this past Sunday 12/8 around 5PM hoping to have a couple of drinks and hummus. We walk in and it was a free for all. The 5 or 6 tables to the left had no one sitting on them but stuff all over them from families with kids. A lady with a badge on who was standing there just turned away not even thinking to help us. Congress Hall is a great property but The Brown Room which was once a civilized place to relax and have a drink will not see me ever again. I realize thru probably don’t even care but if you are reading this think twice about a visit. Plenty of other places in Cape May to go.

The Ebbitt Room is a luxurious eatery and tavern located within the Virginia Hotel in Cape May. It offers a sophisticated ambiance and serves seasonal, farm-to-table New American cuisine along with an exclusive wine list. The restaurant emphasizes locally grown produce and sustainably sourced ingredients, making it a top choice for food enthusiasts. Such an elegant meal and dining experience. The staff are courteous and inside had a piano player. We tried the rolls, grilled octopus, scallops, duck, baby carrots, and the chocolate tart. Every single dish was exquisite, it felt so luxurious. I do recommend making a reservation for dinner.

Overall, pretty good! They have a full bar, but you can BYOB! But it is a $40 “open” charge per bottle of wine… The drink menu has everything, be mindful it’s very expensive. The NY Strip was great! Cooked exactly how it was requested. The Rack of Lamb entree was great too! Not disappointed at all. The Dover Filet was OK, but there should be more of a ‘starch’ to make it a complete meal. They overhauled it with green beans, but adding potatoes to it would’ve made it better. The Cape May Scallops entree was also pretty good but feels like it’s missing something. You have to buy rolls for the table & it only comes out with 1 roll per person… The atmosphere was OK; waitress was very nice & attentive. It just wasn’t ‘so good’ that I’d go back. The food did come out very quick! I’m glad we tried it, but wasn’t worth it. Not to mention I got 1 scoop of chocolate ice cream for dessert and that little scoop in the photo was $10… It was a $300 tab that didn’t include the $40 open charge. Seems a bit pricey for what we got.

Came here during a fantastic week in Cape May in late July & this was one of the evenings we randomly walked around looking for a spot. I've come to appreciate open bar sitting when there are no reservations. We had a lovely meal, the bartender & staff were fully on point & the piano player was fantastic. Good food, great drinks & a very full restaurant that never felt loud or crowded. Love Ebbit & hope to go back on a future trip!

Our reservation was for 6:45pm... we went early to have a drink in the porch which was so pleasant- a comfy couch and horse and buggy making loops... I checked in and the host immediately said Happy Anniversary (my wife had noted in the reservation). We were seated and greeted with a champagne toast for our anniversary!!! Danica our server was fantastic and the food was honestly perfect!!! We started with the Calamari app as well as the Cut Pasta and Crab app- 2 of the best apps I have ever enjoyed! I got the NY Strip- which will be my standard meal there moving forward! I loved the mushroom gravy and the zucchini couldn't have been better! My wife got the Scallops and they were succulent for sure! We wrapped sharing the Blueberry Tartlet... all I can say is WOW!!! What an experience! ENJOY!!!

This is the most quintessential cocktail lounge/ restaurant in the city of cape may. The casual environment makes you feel like you're not just going to have to stand and wait outside; they welcome you to enjoy very comfortable areas of the hotel, inside and out. A cocktail waitress or waiter walks around serving the areas outside of the dining area giving you an opportunity to enjoy your wait, so much that you might want to just hang around the cocktail areas and skip the restaurant.... but I would not reccomend skipping the restaurant. The food is prepared exceptionally with detail in the display and quality in each dish. It was very hard to choose from the items on the menu because everything sounded so good, I decided it was best to just order several different appetizers and 2 main dishes to split. EVERYTHING was perfect, from the taste, the smell, to the atmosphere. This will be my first choice of restaurant the next time I return to cape may.

It's a wonderful place but packed like sardines and very loud. The food however, is top notch, delicious cocktails, and great service. Having a more expansive kids menu would have been helpful. Had to pay 60 for kids meals is a bit pricey. It was steak but for kids....

We came here for dinner with my friend, and everything was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we had the tempura calamari and mussels. For our entrées, I ordered the Cape May scallops, and my friend got the rainbow fish. I tried a bite of hers too it was just as amazing. The only downside about the Cape May scallops was that the other flavors slightly overpowered the risotto, so I couldn’t fully taste it. Our server, Ksenija, was super accommodating and welcoming. Overall, a 10/10 experience!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Uncle Bill's Pancake House is a cherished gem along the Jersey Shore, particularly in Cape May, where it has been delighting breakfast lovers for nearly 45 years. This beloved eatery offers an extensive menu that goes beyond just pancakes—think waffles, eggs, and bacon galore! Located conveniently near Congress Hall on Perry Street and Beach Avenue, it's a must-visit spot for families looking to enjoy a hearty meal together.
We had a wonderful experience at Uncle Bill’s! We visited on Mother’s Day, so it was understandably busy. Despite that, we were surprised to be seated right away, even though they told us there would be a 15–20 minute wait when we called ahead! The food and coffee were fantastic (the pancakes were divine, of course). They even gave me a flower for Mother’s Day, which was such a sweet touch! Our waitress was sweet, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Thank you for making our breakfast so special! We will definitely be back 🌸🥞☕

We come from a former USSR country (Uzbekistan) and grew up watching American movies where diners often appeared. For us, they’ve always been associated with America — with cozy family gatherings over Sunday breakfast. And this diner turned out to be exactly that for us. It was cozy and comfortable. The atmosphere is a solid 10 out of 10. Even the waitresses — their style and overall vibe — reminded me of girls from the 70s. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but I really loved that. Their menu is very extensive. The freshly squeezed orange juice was divine, although a bit pricey — but that’s expected for fresh juices. The service was excellent. I was very happy with our waitress. It’s nice when staff proactively let you know about things like the strawberries on the pancakes being frozen rather than fresh. That’s totally fine, but I’m sure it could matter to some people. For example, I changed my mind after that and went with the blueberry pancakes instead. And they were amazing. I even took the leftovers with me to our room and enjoyed them again in the evening. I also highly recommend the sweet potato fries. The only thing that wasn’t great was the coffee. It tasted like it was too diluted and not strong enough. Another downside for me was the strong smell in the women’s restroom. I always pay attention to the cleanliness of restrooms in restaurants — to me, it’s also a reflection of the overall quality of the place. However I understand how hard it may be for the staff to keep restrooms fresh throughout the day in such a busy place.

I had such a great experience at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House in Cape May. The location is perfect — just steps away from the beach, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great spot to enjoy breakfast or brunch. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and parking is convenient, which makes the visit even easier. For food, I ordered the Cape May Plate, Eggs Benedict, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, along with sides of smoked bacon, smoked ham, and avocado. Everything was delicious! The pancakes were fluffy and full of flavor, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sides were fresh and tasty. You can really tell they use quality ingredients and put care into every dish. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole meal even more enjoyable. Service was quick, and everyone was welcoming with a smile, which added to the positive experience. Overall, Uncle Bill’s Pancake House is definitely worth visiting if you’re in Cape May. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great location near the ocean — I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Love having breakfast here everytime we visit Cape May. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to be seated but it's worth the waiting. I love the pecan pancakes (gluten free menu). Always fresh and delicious. Also the veggie omelet.

I went to NJ last month and wanted to try famous pancakes from Uncle Bill. We ordered lots of thing there; Cape may plate w/ pork chop, egg omelet w/ toasts, eggs benedict and chocolate chip pancakes. They were so good!!! And the servers were very nice and welcoming us.

I have been coming here for years. Since 2004. The food is always good. It is a simple and comfortable place to eat your meal. Plus next to the beach. The staff is always welcoming. Portions are just right. The reason for the 4 stars is that this time everything was great until, I paid my check. Lady didn't even ask how everything was? I was trying to say to her how" I love this place. I always come here". No reaction. Just a smirk. I realize everyone has issues. Not judging that, but you represent the restaurant. Show you care. Be more personable. Be more Kind! Smile! This is only time, I experienced this. Kindness Matters. I will still eat here. Just being honest. Everyone has an off day.

This is a great place to go during the week as you can avoid the crowds. Located across the street from the Atlantic Ocean in downtown Cape May, it provides a quiet place for a great breakfast or lunch. The food and service are impeccable, and if you're looking for outstanding service, ask for Candi.

This restaurant has some booths with a view of the ocean. There are so many choices on the menu, so come hungry! I had the seasonal pumpkin pancakes which were amazing. The staff were friendly and overall the service was great.

Pizza restaurant
Tony's Pizzeria & Restaurant is a casual eatery that offers traditional Italian fare such as pizza, pasta, and chicken parmigiana. Despite being relatively unknown, it has pleasantly surprised many diners with its delectable food. Customers have raved about the hot and delicious pizzas, as well as the excellent mozzarella sticks. The friendly and accommodating service further enhances the dining experience at this hidden gem.
Our favorite pizza in Cape May! And my absolute favorite mozzarella sticks in the entire world (I am not kidding 10/10!) Their marinara sauce is solid and they also make a great meatball. I can only really recommend takeout or delivery, not the best atmosphere for sitdown dinner.

Food: Much better pizza than I expected. Wasn't hungry going into it so when the pizza was decent it truly was. Crust was crispy, however the pizza was not overly topped. Service: Very friendly, went in for dinner. Food was prompt for ordering two pizzas and entree. Atmosphere: standard Italian restaurant that is used mostly for take-out pizza.

You don’t want to miss this place if you like pizza. We taste Tony’s pizza 12 years ago and returning every year since. Best in tri state area.

We just popped in for late lunch and the place was empty. the decor was old and unkept. The restroom was shabby at best. The whole place just looked like they forgot to clean it for a long time inside. The service was fast, (no other customers) and the food was Ok I got a buffalo chicken cheesteak which was hot and buffalo. Not afraid to be buffalo hot! I liked it and shared some too. The basket of cheese fries was enough for 3 and were good too. Cheese diping sauce on the side was a litttle unusual and we ran out half way through the basket. It was a fast hit and run with decent food but lacked tourist ambiance.

They have really good pizza. Came here since it was close to the dock for whale watching. It is an affordable place to eat. And the pizza was one of the best ive had. The place was clean and quite. They were open early. They also provided pizza on the boat we were in. I really like the location too. Its right by the water, just a short walk across the street. Will definitly come back if we ever in the area.

We came in on a slow, off-season, Monday night with our family. The servers were so friendly and our family felt right at home. We ordered pizza, which was delicious, and a Stromboli (also delicious) but our favorite was the Greek salad. Everything was so fresh and nothing about it was skimpy. Even my 3 year old could not get enough of the salad!

I was visiting CM and a friend recommended this place for pizza. The pizza was delicious along with the mozzarella sticks. Decent prices too. We couldn't eat our pizza for it was huge

Showed up as they were closing, after coming in late by boat due to poor seas. They were kind enough to make us a pizza and salad to-go. Can't thank them enough for helping us out. On top of that the food was really good!

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum. Not quite as popular as Washington Street Mall, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Step back in time and immerse yourself in aviation history at the Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum. Housed within a meticulously restored WWII training site, Hangar #1, this non-profit museum offers a captivating journey through the country's military and aviation legacy. The museum showcases a diverse collection of historic aircraft, engines, and interactive displays that provide an engaging educational experience for visitors of all ages.
Must see if you’re in Cape May County. There are so many wonderful exhibits in the museum. If you can find Jim Pennington. He’s a volunteer with a TON of amazing info and stories. Your visit will be soo much better with Jim showing you around. My favorites were the attack planes; Harrier, F-14 & F-16, but the old jets and Coast Guard stuff were cool as well. Great place for kids as there’s a ton of hands on things. You can get in some of the planes. Don’t miss the exhibits on the people lost during training. A nice part is you can spend 30min or 3 hrs depending on time available. But seriously, if you want to know more cool facts FIND JIM!!!!

I loved visiting the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum. The huge WWII-era hangar is impressive on its own, and it’s filled with many fascinating airplanes and helicopters, piston and jet engines, with more to see outside too. The exhibits are interactive, you can sit in cockpits, explore vehicles, and even try simulators which makes it fun for all ages. Everything is well cared for and presented in a way that really brings aviation history to life. A must-see in Cape May for anyone interested in planes or history.

Absolutely amazing aviation museum. The place is big, clean, and has many different aircrafts. The staff is super friendly and the gift shop is well stocked. We liked it so much that we visited twice over the summer despite having an over 2 hour drive to get there. And we will be back whenever we are in the area.
Magdalena O — Google review
First time visiting this aviation museum and I've been to many. Walking into the hanger brought back memories as I haven't been in one in twenty years when I was working on my A&P certificates. Good parking out, line into the gift shop to buy tickets was fast and everything went smoothly. My family and I were there as they were setting up for the airshow the next car and it was ok to go through the hanger/out given the movement of tables, etc. Nice array of aircraft throughout the years. Seeing the classics put a smile on my face even with the kids wanting to go home haha. The gift shop had a good selection of things to buy and the staff was friendly. (thank you for your patience with my son moving those big plastic toy bins around in front of the counter so he could stay occupied). Next time I'm down at the cape I will visit again.
Jake W — Google review
This museum is fantastic! It boasts an impressive collection of aircraft that you can approach and get a sense of their size and the challenges faced by pilots. The museum comprehensively covers the entire history of Hanger 1 and the airport. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, informative, and helpful. It’s an excellent place to visit!

Our son came home from university with several of his fellow Navy ROTC midshipmen for this past Columbus holiday weekend/fall break! The Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum and Flight Deck Diner were two must do activities! The NASW Aviation Museum is a phenomenal memorial and destination for everyone! Having been born and raised in Cape May County, my pride and love of our communities is strong! Celebrating the U. S. Navy’s 250th birthday on the exact day made the visit even more powerful! Bethany and Pat in the gift shop/ticket counter greeted us with a smile and warm welcome! Dr. Joe Salvatore and his wife Annie’s legacy and dedication to this very vital and historical landmark for Cape May County is truly felt through every exhibition in the authentic WWII hangar!
Melissa L — Google review
Such a great time with so much to do! Food vendors, live music, fire trucks, axe throwing, interactive fun for the kids! My 3 yo was asking to go back when he woke up in the morning. Can't wait to go back.

We went to see The Longest Yarn. An exhibit of knitted pieces representing scenes from D-Day. The craftsmanship of each scene was amazing. The rest of the museum was outstanding. Covering the time period from World War II through present day military life at Wildwood Station and Cape May. Well worth the drive.

The experience was great I got the chance to take my mother who will be 90 this year and my aunt who will be 80 this year. Just to see their faces with the alpacas was worth the trip. The husband and wife team are truly wonderful people and they take good care of their adorable alpacas. They were very welcoming and friendly.

What a great experience! Tish was a great guide…my fiancé and I learned so much about the alpacas and their different personalities. The personal tour was unique and fun. Make sure to visit their gift shop! I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Cape May area. ☺️

We had a wonderful experience at Jersey Shore Alpacas. Jim was a wonderful guide – very knowledgeable and happy to answer all of our questions. We were each given a small bag of carrots to feed the alpacas, so they came right up to us. We loved learning about each of their backgrounds, personalities, and the creative origins of their names. Jim was also flexible with our booking and was happy to accommodate a last minute change, which I really appreciated. Definitely recommend a visit for families, especially if you’re looking for some non-beach activities to mix in to your trip down the shore!

We absolutely loved our visit to Jersey Shore Alpacas! It's obvious that the alpacas are extremely loved cared-for. We felt safe the entire time and were amazed by our guide's deep knowledge of alpacas. He knew how to position us to keep everyone (humans, alpacas) safe while also answering all of our questions. The alpaca gift shop is also very cute and had a lot of beautiful alpaca goods. In the end, I got some yarn to crochet with. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

I came for the tour here with my aunts and cousin and we really enjoyed it! The tour including the introductory discussion, time with the alpacas and time in the gift shop was about an hour. Tish gave us a very informative tour and helped us take fun pictures. The alpacas were so goofy and cute! I highly recommend booking this tour!

“I like the alpacas. They are very soft and cute. I will be back in the summer!” -my six year old. My family and I had a perfect visit with the Alpacas! From the information ahead of time, the introduction to the rules and expectations, the exciting and personal visits with each of the animals, to the information shared throughout, we had a very special day! I really couldn’t be more pleased with the way the owner easily adjusted to the needs of a family with 3 small children to make our visit the best it could be. Thank you!!

Jim was so informative about the Alpacas, introduced my Sissy and I to all of them, explained what to expect and educated us. You DO get to MINGEL with them, literally and instructed, educated how to approach and pet ♡Just minutes to get to from Wildwood, not heavy traffic road. Very clean, goodie bags(carrot sticks)for Alpachas provided by Jim. Excellent communication and clarity prior to visit as well. Respect is so important for everyone, Alpacas and experience. Another experience, hands on, in life. ENJOYED. Book a visit, enjoy. The TWINS. Thank you Jim.

Nestled in the heart of southern New Jersey, Historic Cold Spring Village (HCSV) is a captivating living history museum that transports visitors back to the early years of American independence. Open from spring through summer, this charming village spans over 30 acres and recreates a quaint rural hamlet from the homespun era. As a non-profit educational institution, HCSV invites guests to immerse themselves in the rich history of the region while exploring period buildings filled with artifacts and engaging exhibits.
Great place for a fun family adventure. Clean and safe. Lots of lovely folks working there. Very interesting to see all the different makers in the Viking area of The Clan of the Raven. Highly recommend the Seafarers and Maritime Celebration!

Very nice living museum. Great staff to ask questions if you have any. Nice to wander around the historic houses, and places. Small farm out back with a horse & couple of cows. The only place that we didn't get to go in or see was the restaurant. It was closed.
Deb K — Google review
This a lovely historic village where you can learn about 19th century history. There are separate buildings to visit: a blacksmith, a pottery studio, a schoolhouse, etc. Each one has a host who’ll tell you a slice of history. We especially loved the print shop and the bookbinder’s!
Valeriya S — Google review
Great historic village. There were many historic interpreters showcasing all kinds of crafts including spinning yarn, weaving, wicker, printing, blacksmithing, tinsmithing, and bookbinding. Kyle at the print shop was very knowledgeable and communicative. The village is a reconstruction assembled from real historic buildings that have been transported to the site, so the historic education component is very general, but still locally focused. They have sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and a horse on site. The curator of the village informed us that he is a physic medium, so there is a lot of paranormal tourism incorporated into the village. They did not treat it as a gimmick or a performance. They all seemed to take it very seriously like they really believe in the ghost stories. But if you're not into that, it was pretty easy to avoid. There is a nice ice cream parlor and bakery inside the village, as well as a restaurant and brewery right outside so this area can really be a full day adventure.

I've rode past this place for years, never stopped. However, recently we decided to visit with family. What a pleasant surprise! I felt like I stepped back in time. Very educational, from the general store, inn, jail, school house, black Smith, etc. Each structure had someone dressed in the period and explained where Each structure came from and what the structure was used for. We even had corn on the cob, cooked on open flame and bread baked in the outside oven. There is also a welcome center and snack bar along with a bakery and ice cream store. There is a brewery which you can access in the parking area. If you rode past this place wondering what was there and never stopped, I would suggest you check it out. You'll be pleasantly surprised! There is a fee to get into the park, (not the brewery), and they do offer discounts for seniors and veterans for the park. There is also a ghost tour every Friday evening, however I believe these should be purchased in advance. You may want to call to confirm.
Joanne — Google review
We visited about 2 weeks ago and were not impressed. Maybe because it was a weekday in the summer so there were no events going on. The blacksmith was closed so it was really just all bunch of old buildings. Looking at the website I expected there to be more to do. We found this listed on Bring Fido which highlights places that are dog friendly. While it is dog friendly in that you can bring your dog, you can only walk the outside grounds with them. They are not allowed in any of the buildings, not even if they are a small dog and you pick them up. For us, this meant one person could go into the building and look around and someone had to stay outside with the dog and then that person went in by themselves. We’ve been going to Cape May for 25 years and had never been here. We only went this time because we thought it was something we could do with our dog who is small, well behaved and loves to be included in things. We would never go back there again. They should not advertise themselves on Bring Fido because it’s not an accurate representation of what they offer. We paid $16 each to go through and were only there about an hour

Cape May Winery & Vineyard in North Cape May offers a charming setting with vineyards, tasting rooms, and an inviting upstairs deck and patio. Visitors can choose from over 20 wine options, including a barrel-fermented chardonnay, and take part in behind-the-scenes winemaking experiences. Cape May Winery: A Delightful Surprise I recently had the pleasure of re-discovering Cape May Winery, and it exceeded all expectations. While known for its exceptional wines, I was pleasantly surprised by their brunch offerings. As a dedicated red wine lover, I ventured outside my comfort zone and tried a few whites, and they were a delightful revelation. The smoked salmon was a standout, a first for me, and I was thoroughly impressed. The combination of flavors was perfect. The ambiance was relaxed and inviting, making it the ideal spot to enjoy good food and great company. If you're looking for a memorable brunch experience paired with exquisite wines, Cape May Winery is an absolute must-visit.

CAPE MAY: we were truly charmed by Cape May Winery and, although no surprise, visiting this spot reinforced that there are great small businesses and how we really have it all here in New Jersey! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed at designated areas, so check with the host to be seated. Open daily throughout the year, come for the wine made from their own farmed grapes and stay to enjoy a tapas-inspired food menu, and a stroll amongst the Napa Valley-like grounds. We really got lost in the beauty of the place and the sense of whimsy and magic. We enjoyed a bottle of one of their white wines and you can also order by the glass or in a flight for a wine tasting. There is a nice selection of varietals to choose from.

BEST CAKE EVER! If you need a cake for any occasion and want an exceptionally delicious chocolate cake, I HIGHLY recommend Madison’s Bakery. I ordered a half sheet cake for my daughter’s graduation and worked with Sammy to custom design it. She was SO wonderful to work with! She was attentive, responsive, and made sure every detail was perfect. The cake was chocolate with chocolate mousse filling and white frosting. Not only did we have more than enough cake for our party, but everyone was fighting over the last pieces to take home — it was truly that good! It was a cake to remember in every regard. Huge thanks to Sammy & the entire Madison’s Bakery team for making our celebration so special!

The pastries and donuts were soft and had good flavor. Definitely coming back for the Jelly donuts — should’ve brought more to bring back home. The strawberry & cheese croissants were also pretty good! The breakfast sandwiches were not bad at all — a nice quick easy grab with their coffee.

It was very good. The chocolate sprinkle donut had a fantastic inside but I wished they were more heavy on the chocolate topping. The cinnamon rolls and Boston Crème seemed to be better so I’m sad I didn’t get those but it was still really good. It’s mostly a to-go place in here. Not too many places to sit down inside but there are plenty outside.

According to chat gpt this is THE lobster roll place in Cape May… so 5 of us came for a late lunch… in the middle of shopping and dinning strip and a block away from the beach. Parking can be tricky… typical lobster roll place - no thrills hole in a wall. There are few options to pick from including lobster bisque, which my friends did try and liked. 3 rolls option - original , salad and Connecticut style. I decided to try Connecticut and Original. Nothing to complain about - fresh. Hit the spot but a star shy of 5 stars. Came with chips and a pickle. We are outside. Service was quick. Food was fresh. WATCH OUT FOR SEAGULLS - they nearly stole our food - spiraled down and literally missed it by an inch… Certainly would encourage you to try them - not too pricey… but dont expect Micheline style dining

Absolutely wonderful service and delicious food! The team here is incredibly friendly, attentive, and clearly takes pride in their work. You can feel their positive energy the moment you walk in — it adds something truly special to the experience. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism — we’ll definitely be coming back. Keep up the amazing work!

Over our 3 day stay in Cape May, we ate at 7 different places. Guess which one was the best? The food here is fabulous and we came back again. Kaylee (our server) told us that the Chef is the Owner! What we appreciated was the way the Chef used the natural sea salt along with other spices. The scallops were incredible as were the vegetables- both times cooked perfectly. If you have an extended stay in Cape May, there's a good chance you will come back.

John Quincey's Original Lobster Rolls isn't your white tablecloth kind of seafood joint. It's a hidden gem tucked right on the beach, with a walk-up counter and a cluster of picnic tables for seating. Don't be fooled by the casual digs – this place serves up lobster rolls that are nothing short of legendary. The first thing that grabs you is the scent of salty air intertwining with the warm, buttery aroma of lobster. As you wait for your order, the rhythmic crash of waves serves as a constant reminder of the beautiful ocean mere steps away. The picnic tables, a riot of colors, are spread out under large umbrellas, offering shade and the perfect spot to take in the breathtaking ocean views. Now, let's talk about the main event: the lobster roll. They pile incredibly fresh lobster meat high onto a toasted, buttered roll. It's generosity personified – overflowing goodness in every bite. Each mouthful is a burst of sweet, succulent lobster bathed in a decadent, clarified butter that enhances the natural sweetness of the seafood perfectly. The roll itself is toasted to a golden perfection, providing a satisfying textural contrast to the tender lobster. The quality of the ingredients is undeniable, and the care they put into crafting each roll shines through. John Quincey's Original Lobster Rolls is the epitome of a relaxed, beachy lunch experience. You get delicious, overflowing portions of fresh seafood, stunning ocean views, and the calming sound of the waves – all at a price that won't break the bank. It's the perfect spot to unwind, savor the taste of the ocean, and indulge in a truly incredible lobster roll.

A $20 snack. So delicious but is not dinner material. Atmosphere was amazing, we went around 6pm. The weather was amazing with a little breeze and near sunset. Would recommend if you want a quick snack or before dinner.
Janell S — Google review
Small, but it’s only $20 for a lobster roll and they offer a deal on 4 rolls. Outside seating only, with some sun protection but not a lot. I had the Connecticut roll which was served warm, the bun was crispy, buttered and soft. Food was prepared relatively quick.

American restaurant
The Washington Inn & Wine Bar is an elegant American restaurant located in a Victorian plantation house, offering a sophisticated dining experience. The menu features fresh seafood, locally-sourced produce, and inventive twists on traditional dishes. Guests can savor appetizers like chilled shrimp with tropical fruits or roasted mushroom soup, followed by main courses such as seafood cioppino and crab cakes. The restaurant's historic charm adds to the ambiance, with options to dine in the formal dining room or on the charming screened-in porch.
We had an 8:30 reservation and arrived a bit early. Right away, the host let us know we’d be seated closer to our reserved time and invited us to relax at a bar table. A bar waiter quickly took our drink order, and we were seated right on time. The hostess even mentioned they saved us a lovely window seat, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything we ordered was fantastic—from the oysters Rockefeller to the crab cakes and cioppino. Service was attentive and warm throughout. A high-caliber dining experience in every way, absolutely worth a visit.

We recently dined at Washington Inn and were seated in the wine cellar, a small and cozy space with just three tables. It's a unique, intimate setting that some may find charming, though it might not be for everyone. If you're looking for a quiet, tucked-away experience, it's definitely a cool spot. Service was attentive and professional throughout the evening, which we appreciated. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the high expectations set by the atmosphere and price point. The crab cakes were a letdown, fried and packed with shredded lump meat, lacking the delicate texture and flavor you’d hope for, especially being down the shore. The rack of lamb, while cooked nicely, consisted of only four small lollipop chops and didn’t feel like a good value. On a brighter note, the flounder special was excellent, fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Cocktails were also a highlight of the evening. Overall, Washington Inn has a nice ambiance and solid service, but for a more consistently satisfying dining experience in Cape May, I’d recommend Peter Shields instead.

Easily one of my top five dining experiences ever - better than some Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve enjoyed. Even their simple garden salad was extraordinary. Do not pass on the Mediterranean sea bass - the fish was perfectly prepared, and the salsa verde was one of the most complex, unctuous sauces I’ve ever had. The flavors of the sorbet were so concentrated and clear - I couldn’t stop eating them, especially the mango. The service was outstanding, and the price performance was excellent. This was a transcendent meal - can’t wait to come back.

Went here for the first dinner as a married couple after our wedding. No less than four wedding guests screamed and said “you’re gonna have a great time” when we told them where we were headed for dinner the following day. We did in fact, have a great time! The caviar is some of the best I’ve ever had and we were treated to the fabulous story of how the farmers met working at the Inn. It was a picturesque restaurant, absolutely incredible service and a memory I will treasure forever. Can’t wait to go back!

I have to give full credit to my besties hubby for planning all the reservations while we stayed in Cape May earlier this summer. We dined at Washington Inn on our first night & it was fantastic. Very elegant but never obnoxious. Highly recommend reservations. The food & service were beyond expectations. Huge dining areas & the staff were all so very kind. Located on a lovely street that begs to be walked after dinner. We loved every moment of this dining experience!

We had the most amazing time at the Inn wine bar with bartenders Robin and Justin. They gave us all of the local tips and made us feel like regulars, even though it was our first time. We’ve already taken them up on their recommendations and it’s made our stay in Cape May so special! We can’t wait to come back

Lucky Bones Backwater Grille is a popular family-friendly restaurant located in Cape May, known for its diverse menu featuring seafood dishes and casual comfort food. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere and serves up mouthwatering classics such as burgers, ribs, and of course, seafood. It is owned by the same group behind the prestigious Washington Inn, ensuring quality food and a welcoming environment for families.
Lucky Bone is a wonderful, family-friendly spot. The mussels in red sauce were fresh and flavorful, and the menu has plenty of comfort foods that make you feel at home. Their mocktails are refreshing — we especially liked the one with mint. Service was excellent; our waiter was very helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely come back!

We went to try fish n chips but ended up ordering a pizza alongside. Fish n chips were okay, but surprisingly, the pizza turned out to be really good. It was a four cheese pizza with prosciutto on top. The texture was perfect, and the flavor was amazing. We weren't expecting a good pizza at all but thankfully, now we have found a good pizza spot in Cape May.

Tayrn was amazing ! We are visiting from out of town and had the best experience. The food is amazing. I have a very sensitive gluten celiac disease. They have a whole separate menu and bring out an orange napkin so everyone knows. Then you get your food on a separate orange plate. It’s so nice to be able to be safe and still have food that doesn’t compromise on taste. I wish places where I live did this. The pizza was gluten free and the flavor was amazing. The crust is perfect. So many amazing options. Huge wine menu. Fresh clams. It was great. Be sure to go for sure !

My family and I were down in Cape May for a long weekend for my wife's Bday. We decided to check out Lucky Bones for breakfast since they only do it on weekends, and we were only a short walk away. They had a few specials, all of them sounded good. I chose the Bacon and Bleu Omellete and it was perfect. My wife got the Eggs Benedict, which she also enjoyed. The coffee was very good and our server was very attentive. All in all, a great dining experience for our family. I'd definitely recommend this place for breakfast, I'm sure their lunch and dinner options are just as good as well.

VERY busy place! Decent wine selection. Fun drinks menu. Jenni was AWESOME! Incredibly nice and prompt with everything! Table bussers were also super efficient! That bread that they serve is out of this world! I tried the soup of the day which was split pea. It was very good. I also had the fish and chips. I loved the batter! The place was packed. I highly suggest reservations. Will definitely return.

Lucky Bones will amaze you. As soon as you walk into this restaurant, you will notice a great full service Bar and a courteous hostess station. We were escorted to our table and were met by a friendly waitress ready to assist us explaining the food specials, the incredible beer offerings, wine and other liquid offerings. I am known by my friends for my true enjoyment of food and drink and my opinions are sincere. Lucky Bones will amaze you with their food and their service. The waitress suggested the mussels served in a San Marzano tomato based sauce with Gorgonzola cheese and shredded Basil. Gorgonzola and Mussels?????? Not sure of that, but the waitress assured me it was fabulous. I listen to food staff. I am glad that I do! It is one of the best dishes of Mussels I ever tasted. Although they have an impressive menu which includes fabulous seafood dishes such as Pompano and Cobia, somehow the fresh chopped clam white pizza pie sounded like a perfect accompaniment. Damn, was I pleased that I did. It was superb! You really cannot go wrong with any dish. The food and service was exemplary and we not could go home without another meal at Lucky Bones. The Mussels and the clam pizza pie are addictive. We were fortunate enough to meet the GM Jason DeWaters as he walked the rooms assuring all guests were satisfied. A great pleasure to meet him and he is just one more reason to travel 123 miles from home to enjoy another meal at Lucky Bones Backwater Grille. You will not be disappointed………..

Revolution Rail Co. offers a unique rail bike adventure along The Nature Conservancy's Garrett Family Preserve, providing riders with the opportunity to observe wildlife and learn about the area's history. Using decommissioned railroad tracks from the former Seashore Lines Railroad, individuals, couples, and families can enjoy a leisurely ride from Cape May Visitors Center to Cape May Canal. The experience is suitable for all ages and abilities, making it an ideal outdoor activity for the whole family.
This was a great day trip! My family and I did the rail ride in NY a few years ago and we decided to try out Cape May since it is much closer to our home than NY! It was awesome! I particularly loved the informative history of the railroad and the area in general and also loved the conservancy stop .. the tour guides were very knowledgeable and super friendly. They were very young boys/young men and very well mannered and professional. We had a great time and even booked a ride for next month!!

We had such an incredible experience with Revolution Rail Co. in Cape May! The 1.5-hour rail biking trip was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The rail bikes were comfortable and easy to pedal, and the pace was perfect for soaking in the beauty all around us. We got to see so much nature along the way—trees, birds, and even some peaceful marsh views. The guides were fantastic, sharing interesting history about the Cape May area that made the ride even more meaningful. One of my favorite parts was the short nature walk they included, which gave us a chance to stretch our legs and learn a little more about the environment up close. It was the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and learning. I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting Cape May—it’s a unique experience you won’t forget!

My daughter and I booked a trip in Cape May. Even though it was a short trip, it still was good. The Historical information and nature talks were good. It was a nice cool day and we enjoyed ourselves. It was easy to pedal so no sweat involved. We are looking into NY trips in the future. Would do it again. It was a good time!!!

Super nice way to spend an afternoon! It’s very interesting how this company has made a fun use out of old railroad lines. The scenery was pretty and the tour guides provided excellent presentations about the surrounding area - historic and biological (nature). After the tour check out the quaint beach town of Cape May. Thank you.

My birthday weekend and we decided to have the whole family do the bikes at Revolution Rail Co. in Cape May, NJ. WHAT A GREAT TIME!! Our tour guides gave us a lot of history on the rails as well as on our nature walk. Highly recommend. I have bad knees and it was very easy to pedal. And we had a 2 year old with us. Fun family activity.

We had an absolutely amazing time with revolution rail! Being here on our honeymoon, we wanted to make sure we got some exciting experiences in, and I couldn’t believe how beyond our expectations this experience was. The team is so attentive, takes tons of photos, and taught us so much about the history and nature of the area, while we got a little bit of exercise in. I’ve recommended this experience to all of my family and friends coming into Cape May and will absolutely be doing it again.

What a fabulous experience! I’ve seen Rev Rail Co. advertised when visiting the Jersey Shore and the Adirondacks, but never indulged until now! We went to Cape May Rev Rail Co. on a sunny weekday, and all the spots were booked (so be sure to reserve ahead of time)! Be aware this trail offers little shade, so sunscreen accordingly - my husband is fair skinned and gets sunburnt quickly, but with enough SPF we did just fine 😅 The trail is approximately 2 miles long and takes you to an old out-of-commission rail bridge, the Garrett Family Nature Preserve, and back to the Welcome Center station. Each stop was about 10-15 min long, and our tour guides offered interesting facts and information about each point. The biking itself was super easy! We were afraid our legs would be sore after the fact, but were pleasantly surprised how quickly we got the hang of it. I’m interested in visiting this site again during the fall and height of migration season - the nature preserve must be out of this world to see then! I’d definitely recommend this as an activity for almost anyone, young or old. We had a blast and will hopefully be back soon!

Iccara Italian Bistro is a cozy Sicilian eatery that has been family-owned and operated since 1978. It offers a warm atmosphere and serves a variety of classic Italian dishes and fresh seafood creations made with high-quality ingredients. The menu features options such as cioppino, homemade pasta, crab cakes, and pan-seared scallops.
I wish I could give this place 6 or 7, maybe more stars. Seriously everything about this place was amazing. Don’t let the location fool you. This is a top quality Italian restaurant. We really enjoy our dinner from start to finish. The starter house salad was huge, definitely enough for 2 to split. My wife and I both had the gluten free option. The staff was very knowledgeable about my celiac/gluten needs. I had one of the specials, which was a spicy seafood pasta dish. It had clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. Our server, Mariam, was stupendous. She was perfect on timing and was even able to rattle off the gluten free dessert options. The atmosphere was great too. A smaller place but we didn’t feel on top of any one. The place was also super clean. I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you’re celiac and miss a good pasta dish.

An Excellent Meal! I chose this restaurant based on reviews and it didn’t disappoint . Made a reservation for an early dinner - got right in . It’s a BYOB but they do sell bottles of wine if you want ( no wines by the glass). They had early bird specials that we took advantage of since we were eating during that time frame . $35 for soup or salad, entree and dessert. The portions were huge - I got the salmon and it was excellent. Dessert was choice of 2 cannolis , chic moose or sherbet - I got the cannoli's. Pricing in general was reasonable for non early bird meals which some were also offered as regular choices ). Service was top notch. It didn’t look line much from the outside but the inside decor and atmosphere was very inviting. I would definitely eat here again the next time we are in the area .

My mother, my nonna and I dined yesterday in the restaurant and had an amazing experience! Our server, Alexander, was fantastic. Having worked in the service industry, you can tell how spectacular he truly is as a server. He is very polished, friendly and knowledgeable. The food, most importantly, is Nonna approved (arguably the most challenging part of any Italian restaurant). Kudos!

I recently proposed to my now fiancée and I knew this would be a perfect restaurant. I cannot explain how kind and understanding the staff and owners are at this restaurant. There was a small mishap with one of their staffs, this set our reservation back a bit, I felt terrible and like we should try to find another restaurant to dine but we decided to wait. I felt bad for the reason of knowing they were understaffed and very busy, we had a party of 8 and I knew this would put them under even more pressure. Although our reservation got pushed past closing, THE OWNERS STILL SAT US. Imagine a world where a restaurant is not only willing to still take your reservation after such a stressful night, but is willing to do so in a kind, considerate, and non judgmental manner. The owner apologized, explained the situation, then proceeded with the dinner. They did not dwell on this or make it the focal point of our reservation. Instead, they offered us free wine and champagne, gave us incredible attention to all of our orders. The owner even came over to ask to see my fiancées ring and went on to say how beautiful the ring was. This made the entire night that much more personal and engaging. We had the most amazing food, drinks, and service. I’ve never experience hospitality like I did at this establishment. This restaurant as a whole embodies what it’s like to be apart of the Cape May culture. Everyone was so pleasant and kind I am beyond happy and grateful we were able to dine with them. I cannot recommend this place enough. I sincerely hope they know how thankful we were and I am so happy that they are such an integral part of the Cape May experience. If you are ever in town, do not skip this restaurant! This place is more similar to dining at a close friends house with immaculate cooking experience than it is to a regular restaurant.

The host was incredibly rude to both my wife and mother upon entering. We had reservations for 6 and a child (without a highchair). This may have been a miscommunication, however, to treat a customer in such a manner is unacceptable. We had been to this restaurant 2 times prior and intended to return yearly. However, after the treatment by the host; before sitting, let alone eating; we will not return. Our prior experiences were outstanding, and the food and service were excellent. We are severely disappointed.

Dutch Masters was amazing! The two actors were so talented! We knew nothing about the show and were blown away by it. It is thought provoking and concerned with current issues in today’s crazy world. Miniature golf course
Cape May Miniature Golf is a popular spot for families and couples looking for some fun in Cape May. The well-maintained course offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience, with some finding the shots to be surprisingly tricky. While it may not be the best choice for younger children due to its difficulty level, it's still a great place for family outings or date nights.
Cape May Miniature Golf is awesome! It was a beautiful course to play through! Without doubt worth going to! Have a great day!❤️😃⚓️🌊⛳️

Ehh okay. Staff was rude. Poor signage. No trash cans to put any trash in that were accessible during the course but had numerous do not litter signs up. Very little shade. Based off of reading recent reviews, I know the owner is going to come back and say this is some sort of fake review, but it isn't. Came here 07/22/25 at approximately 1045 am.

I liked this course the best. Some other courses were really flat and this course was challenging. It was $10 per person and had 18 holes.

Best course in cape may! Challenging terrain and lots of fun. Watch out for the blue recreational pool water.
Andrew M — Google review
On a nice sunny day my family and I returned to this course to give it another chance. The sun was beating down and lucky for us this course offers no shade whatsoever. Would we be at least treated to the view of the beach? No, you instead get the breathtaking view of local traffic to one side and the roof of a hardware store to the other. Its a beach town though, so we will get the ocean breeze yeah? Also no, but when you get to the middle of the course there is a small cave with a slight port-a-potty smell that you can huddle in with your family to get a little shade while the mist from the toilet water scented water cools your ankles. There is no longer ice cream at the end of this course but instead you get to take home the complimentary sunburn free of charge! The lumpiness of the greens made it like playing golf in a gravel pit, balls shooting every which way, but this is a positive as it gave my young grandson a chance to win the day so theres that. This town has maybe 5-6 courses on the island and this course is like the 11th best. My family has been let down twice at this course after trying our best to make the best of a bad course. Go anywhere else in Cape May, save your money! I had golfed here previously with my family and had offered some constructive feedback about the lumpy greens and bent putters and the owner became very confrontational and threatened to call the police because I had complained about the egg shaped balls along with the lumpy greens and sub-par putters. I wasn't asking for a refund, just trying to help offer some advice that would step this course up to par with the other courses in town. I figured maybe the initial criticism was harsh and we should give it another shot. I was wrong. I seem to not be the only person that this owner has had problems with and I can't stress enough to spend your money anywhere else!

Went here a few years ago and had a great time with my family. I went back this past weekend and didn't recognize the course. The terrain was so bumpy that my son tripped and fell multiple times. People were doing so bad because the course was unkept and so the line would be really long and it took a long time. Laziness leads to bad service. It's a shame. Also I love Joe Biden.

Great place to go miniature golfing! The place is kept very clean and the course is nice. Found thr course to be surprisingly challenging, and had so much fun! Good for families or date night! Highly recommend Cape May Miniature Golf, it is the best course in Cape May!

Restaurant
Shamone BYOB in Cape May, NJ is a popular upscale restaurant located in a bustling mall. It offers a multi-course tapas menu and is part of the Kara Restaurant Group. The friendly wait staff and delicious food make it a great place to dine with friends. Visitors praise the hospitality, with one mentioning how they were warmly welcomed by waiter James who not only provided water but also invited them to explore the restaurant.
We have been coming to Cape May as a family for decades so we are very familiar with George’s place as a great place for breakfast. We decided to try Shamone’s brunch. We were welcomed by James, our server who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offerings- he was able to give very helpful suggestions. The atmosphere was welcoming, fancy without being stuffy, and modern. The shining star though was the food. The breakfast tacos, pancakes, the French toast, every item we tried was delicious and offered a variety of taste combinations that isn’t to be beat. I’ll be returning soon & as often as we can- do not sleep on this place!

This was first time to Shamone for brunch and WOW, what a great experience! We went there with a group of women celebrating a milestone birthday for one. The brunch option was all you can eat, so we were able to order most of the menu to sample a little bit of everything. The food was amazing! My favorite was the Smooth Criminal, which is a blackened shrimp with cheesy grits. James, our waiter, was great; both attentive and entertaining! He even got the birthday girl sparklers for her French toast so we can sing to her! I cannot wait to come back for dinner, which looks like it would be quite the culinary experience. Thank you Shamone and James for a very filling and fun afternoon!

We tried Shamone for the first time for dinner last summer and loved the experience. We decided to give the brunch a go this year in their new location on Ocean St and it was equally as fabulous. Our waiter James was fabulous in running through the menu and making you feel like you are the only ones in the restaurant. The PYT tots were my fave I could eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner. We will definitely be back next year!
Allison F — Google review
Wow!! What an amazing and unique dining experience. James, our concierge and server made the experience absolutely superb. He was so friendly and welcoming that it was like spending time with an old friend. The food was beautifully presented and equally delicious. I insist on dining at Shamone every time I visit Cape May. There are so many fabulous items to choose from and the portions are more than ample and are quite shareable. Start with the PYT as a group appetizer - it is as delicious as it is huge! I particularly like the Monte Cristo and Steak Pita. The Bananas Foster pancake and guava spano were both absolutely yummy! I cannot say enough great things about Shamone - you will love it!

The experience I had was amazing! We were able to make a reservation for 14 people (an modify the reservation, and add dietary restrictions and allergies the day of). Our server James was amazing and took good care of our large party! The food was amazing! Every dish we had was great! I can't wait to go back! The tasting menu changes every two weeks, as I understand, so going back is a must! The vibes are immaculate! If I could add a 6th star to my review I would!

We’ve been coming here for dinner for quite some time and have always loved it, but this was our first time trying breakfast—and wow, it was absolutely amazing! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and exceeded expectations. A special shout-out to our concierge, James, who made the experience unforgettable. He was nothing short of phenomenal—warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. His suggestions were spot-on, his service was quick, and his friendliness made us feel right at home. Between the delicious food and the outstanding service, breakfast here is now just as much of a favorite as dinner. Highly recommend!

My first time going and will not be the last!! I loved everything about this place. Between the food, atmosphere and the service was amazing. Huge shout out to James being the best server!!

Had the pleasure of enjoying a fantastic brunch this morning. Our party of 4 was completely satisfied from beginning to end. Greeted and served by the most personable and knowledgeable gentlemen. Explained everything in great detail and made the visit fun and extremely enjoyable. The $25 per person cost is by far the best value in Cape May hands down. Portions are large and in no way a "small plate" in my opinion. Highly recommend the chorizo burrito and the steak pita. Did I say the service was exceptional. I made the mistake of not confirming the acceptance of a gift certificate issued by one of the companies other properties but management graciously accepted it. Will definitely return again to try the many additional menu offerings of the brunch menu.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled in a charming nautical-themed setting, Oyster Bay Restaurant & Bar is the perfect destination for seafood and steak lovers alike. This upscale-casual eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere where guests can indulge in a diverse menu featuring fresh catches like lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, and seared scallops. The raw bar items are a must-try, alongside hearty salads and sandwiches that cater to every palate.
I’ve eaten a lot of cheesecake in my day. But I have never had such an amazing cheesecake Like banana bananas, Foster cheesecake at Oyster Bay. There really are no words to describe it. It’s absolutely incredible! It’s light, airy , and the most incredible taste of cheesecake I’ve ever had. Whoever makes this. Make sure that you don’t ever change the recipe and don’t ever let them go! I’d give it a 10 stars if I could.

I got the hanger steak with a lobster tail. Steak was really great! Portions are huge! The wait staff was amazing! I would recommend the Truffled Beets.
Emmett E — Google review
Pretty, well kept establishment but can be renovated. Waitress was attentive but wasn’t happy with the tip because her words to my husband were “Just so you know, gratuity was NOT already in the bill”, and stormed off. Other than that, food was just okay. The best thing in my opinion were the boardwalk fries. Perfectly seasoned, the right amount of thickness and crisp. I ordered the duck and for a $40 dish, I don’t want to see canned oranges on my plate. The flavors were nice on the duck and it was cooked tender. However, sides were flavorless and just seemed to be steamed and barely buttered. Cocktail was delicious, but you can tell the garnish jalapeños were cut 2-3 days ago. To finish, I don’t think I’d come back.

An absolute gem of a restaurant with exceptional drinks and food. The service was terrific. They didn't rush us and we were able to ask questions. Ambiance got loud once more people arrived in the dining room, but luckily we were on our way out. Delectable banana foster cheesecake. Save room for dessert!!!

Top notch.. I live down here all summer for 12yrs and anytime I have friends or family down and they want to go out to dinner this is where I take them..it's on point every time..fantastic steaks..very comfortable atmosphere and great service..it's an act of God if you are able to get a parking spot but I have managed every time. Also the bar area is very nice, you can sit there and wait for your table or you can just order from the full menu right there.
SteveN — Google review
Food was spectacular! One of the best meals we’ve had in town. The duck was cooked to perfection and our creme brûlée was so yummy. If you’re an aperol spritz girlie, this is your place! Also very gluten free conscientious for my friend who has celiac. If you’re looking for a high end dinner and cozy candlelit dinner, Oyster Bay is your place.

The food was phenomenal, drinks were delicious and the bartender with the beard was awesome and a lot of fun. (apologies for forgetting his name.) Huge A+ all around.
Matt K — Google review
Everything about this charming place is excellent. The service , food, drinks and desserts were top shelf. The restaurant is clean, along with the restrooms. They have a well stocked bar and have enough people employed. It was really a great little find. We will return whenever we visit Cape May.

Louisa's Cafe

Restaurant
Louisa's Cafe, located in a cozy blue and yellow cottage in Cape May, New Jersey, has been a pioneer of the farm-to-table philosophy since its establishment in 1980. The charming dining room offers a rich menu featuring seafood caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, as well as locally sourced fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The expertly seasoned dishes are prepared with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Adorable French spot with fresh seafood.. the Cajun crab soup was lite and delicious- plus the swordfish and bluefish were perfectly paired with brown rice and a freshly crispy cabbage salad- for desert the vanilla bread pudding came wonderfully paired with a creme---- highly recommend this place! Can't wait to come back
Amanda B — Google review
After coming to Cape May for years we always wanted to try Louisa’s but could never get a reservation. Always walking by, peeking the windows looking at the amazing food and atmosphere feeling envious. We finally secured a reservation! But I’m not going to lie… the experience was a disappointment. First the service was extremely slow, we waited 30 minutes for a server. Then it just took just as long to get our entrees. The fish was very tasty but the sides are just sad. Every entree comes with dry brown rice and random slaw…. They really missed the mark with sides. We had the salmon, flounder and scallops. All were fresh and tasted great. Ohh and it’s BYOB, might be nice if they put that on their website. They did redeem themselves with dessert. Dessert was phenomenal. We had chocolate pie, vanilla bread pudding, spiced dark chocolate bread pudding and the panna cotta. Glad we gave Louisa’s a try to finally cross off our list but we probably won’t be back

Really good food and friendly staff. Sitting outside is my preference but bring sunglasses in case the sun gets in your eyes 😎 My only recommendation to the restaurant would be to offer possible other sides with dishes to add some variety, since most dishes come with brown rice + slaw only. Really tasty soup of the day and salads. BYOB but there’s a liquor store literally across the street. Will definitely be back again!

Dinner for four at Louisa’s last night did not disappoint. We started with the cajun crab soup which had generous portions of crab meat, Smoked Salmon Rillettes served with Golden Wheat Crackers, and a roasted beet salad with Gorgonzola Cheese and Vidalia Onions. For entrees the Cape May Scallops with Tamari and Ginger was delicious and the dipping sauce gave it a little kick. The Crab Cakes with Homemade Tartar Sauce were wonderful, everyone raved about the tartar sauce! The deserts are something to save space for at the end of the meal. Louisa's Chocolate Pie with Orange Apricot Glaze is a must try. Staff is friendly and attentive. This is a BYOB restaurant. Can’t say enough about Louisa’s except go there and enjoy.

super friendly waitress (thanks heather!) she served our big table with patience and care. delicious starters, big portions of fresh seafood, and the most amazing desserts (bread pudding! key lime pie! rice pudding!) highly recommend for a nice dinner in cape may.
Stephanie M — Google review
Most of their main courses are essentially the same -- they just vary the seafood element and the dipping sauce. The seafood seems super-fresh and well prepared, though. Desserts were more varied and extremely good.
Jonathan E — Google review
One of our absolute favorites! The seafood is fantastic and the sides are a perfect accompaniment. Their sauces are great, the salads are amazing and deserts even better. The staff are so friendly and accommodating! Don’t sleep on Louisa’s !!
Gary S — Google review
We went with two friends, have literally went here since the nineties. Unfortunately not much has changed on the menu although desert has vastly improved. I will go by my experience I got the sesame peanut noodles app was a good start kinda small for the price not much involved noodles covered in peanuts cucumbers and green onion in a sesame dressing. I liked it my companions enjoyed their salads. My main I went with the jerk chicken really bland. You would think for jerk chicken the flavor would be more pronounced. Side of basicly raw cabbage masquerading as Cole slaw and undercooked rice masquerading as rice. My wife got the salmon weird thing they gave her bbq sauce where as mine had a red pepper sauce I used it for the coleslaw because of its mayonnaise type consistency I gave it to my wife for her salmon and told her my coleslaw idea which she thanked me for, she said hers was good except the bones she encountered in the salmon and I'm gonna say people do miss bones in a fish I was a chef at a restaurant in Philly I know I did. Besides that mains were a bit of a let down. Now desert I stumbled on a home run it was a mint chocolate Pot de crème my wife had the key lime pie and our friends apple crumb w vanilla ice cream and chocolate pie they looked great and from the looks went down great too. Our server was so nice and accommodating kept my ice teas filled. The outside on an early sept night couldn't be beat. We will prob be back because it's a tradition with us like I said the 90s but it'd be great to see them step it up and try some new things. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it but it's the same menu I remember from thirty five years ago. There are too many new places to try and if it wasn't our friend's favorite we would not go. Sorry not sorry.did I mention how nice our server was awesome. Got the third star for desert.
