Tisha's Fine Dining is a charming restaurant in Cape May that offers a diverse menu of New American cuisine, including sandwiches and burgers for lunch. The establishment prides itself on providing an enjoyable dining experience with a selection of delectable dishes. Tisha's also offers tasty side salads on both their lunch and dinner menus, such as the classic Cobb salad and the House Specialty salad with grilled or crispy chicken. Additionally, patrons can savor the simple yet delicious Kale Caesar salad during dinner service.
This restaurant deserves five stars all around! The service was great. The atmosphere is quaint. But the food is definitely spot on. Everything from the appetizers right through to the dessert was amazing. No complaints had by anyone at the dinner table, and we went with a big group. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a more luxurious meal.

We have been here multiple times over the past few years, and the food and service are always above and beyond. Danny has been our server the last two times we have been here and he remembered us and even where we sat the last time. We came today to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary while in Cape May. We are from Pittsburgh so we are only here once a year or so. We always make a point to stop here for dinner while vacationing in CM. The food is always delicious but the service is more so what keeps us coming back. I can’t speak highly enough about this restaurant. If you’re looking for fine dining while in Cape May, this is the place to go. Thank you, Tisha’s, for always making us feel special!

Came here for dinner for my cousins bachelorette weekend. Love a great BYOB and this place came highly reccomended. Service was great and food was phenomenal. Would definitely go back if I go back to that area. The calamari was EXCELLENT, burrito a peach salad was ok, the peaches weren't ripe so that was a little underwhelming. The Halibut that had on special was incredible, so fresh and cooked perfectly. The filet was delicious but the peppercorn(in my opinion) was a little too much to my liking. The seafood risotto was very flavorful and cooked perfectly as well. The gnocchi was great too.

This is a great option while walking or shopping at a famous Washington Street promenade in Cape May. We sat down in the back yard of the restaurant and it was great. Loved the food. Service was efficient and pretty quick. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Went off season for lunch. There was no wait and they were able to accommodate our stroller outside. (They had heaters so even though it was a little chilly we were super comfortable.) We shared a Cesar salad and my husband had the salmon po'boy. The fish was cooked perfectly. I had the scallops and risotto. It was a smaller portion, only 4 scallops, but I think it is technically an appetizer, and actually it was the perfect portion for me. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the people watching. Service was very attentive and not rushed at all.
Katy I — Google review
Tisha’s is always reliable and delicious. We enjoyed the halibut and a Thai style chili salmon with shrimp. Beautiful setting, sitting outside, with exceptional service. Reservations recommended.
Kim K — Google review
Tisha’s offers fine quality meals and wine served in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly outside in back patio. I got the bolognese which was great.
Joseph A — Google review
Very romantic place for dinner. We had lobster bisque and it was excellent! My chicken pasqual was really good. My husband had the pork chop with apples and it was cooked to perfection. The gnocchi was terrible. Gummy and tough. Our server was ok, got the job done but no warmth at all. Overall it was a great dinner and we would go back.

The Peter Shields Inn & Restaurant is a romantic dining spot housed in an elegant 1907 beachfront mansion, offering American cuisine with stunning views. Chef Carl Messick has opened Grana BYOB at the former Godmothers site, featuring a 68-seat restaurant serving modern American cuisine using seasonal ingredients.
An Incredible Stay in Cape May! We stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it. The house is located right on the ocean and only about a 20-minute walk from Washington Mall — the perfect balance of peacefulness and convenience to local restaurants, shops, and walking areas. Our Victorian-style room was cozy and charming, with a spacious, spotless bathroom fully stocked with everything we needed. The soft bathrobes were such a thoughtful touch. Since my husband and I are big fans of Victorian architecture, it was extra special for us to admire the beautiful details of the house inside and out. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. On our floor, there was a little lounge with coffee, tea, and light snacks, which was very convenient. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was a wonderful surprise — and for a small extra charge, you can even enjoy a mimosa 😊. Another huge plus: the beach is right across the street, and the property provides chairs and umbrellas free of charge. This made our stay even more relaxing. Overall, 5 out of 5! Perfect location, clean and comfortable rooms with everything you need, great service, and the unique charm of a Victorian home. We would definitely come back!

This place is stunning and as an experience, it’s a really cool restaurant to go to. It’s on the fancier side and just feels so exquisite. One of my favorite parts was the piano player and being able to send in song requests; such an unique experience! The food presentation was impressive, but overall the food was pretty good but not the best I have had. Service took awhile too, but they were attentive. Definitely a nice place to try!

My Husband and I had a lovely time staying at the Inn, It was just what we needed. It was relaxing and charming. The breakfast was nice, as we sat on the porch. We had dinner there as well in their cozy and romantic dining room. The cocktails were superb as was the dining experience. Gourmet at its finest in a very inviting (stay a while) candle lit environment. The Inn went all out with their fall decorations and we were greeted by butterflies in the beautiful garden upon arrival. The fire pit in the evening out front was a special touch while we sipped on our night cap. We hope to be able to come back one day again to experience the magic all over again. Peter Shields Inn and Cape May is truly a special place. So picturesque. A place to get away from it all for a spell. Sigh and Smile.
Georgana Z — Google review
Peter Shields has a beautiful reputation, so we arrived with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t fully live up. We waited quite a while to be greeted, and though our waitress was lovely, she was clearly juggling too much. The food was enjoyable and the evening pleasant, but Washington Inn still feels unmatched for warm, seamless hospitality in Cape May.
Ashley G — Google review
Another excellent dining experience as always! Loving the fall menu. Started with deliciously inventive cocktails and mocktails. For appetizers we had the colossal crab salad with HUGE pieces of crab, and a wonderful Caesar salad. We both had venison for our entrees, tender and cooked perfectly. The white chocolate bread pudding was a perfect ending to great meal. The staff consistently provide attentive and professional service adding to the atmosphere. The best place in Cape May! Thank you!

Peter Shields is the epitome of fine dining! The elegance is felt as soon as you walk up the outside stairs & continues all the way through as you enter. All the servers & staff were completely accommodating. My friends & I were in Cape May for a week long vacation in July & this had been on our radar since booking the trip. PS exceeded all our expectations, food & presentation were all spot on. TBH we had the most fun with the piano player, you could text him any & all of your requests & we happily waited for our song to come up, he was fantastic.
Grace A — Google review
Our dinner at Peter Shields Inn was the best meal I've ever had. I have had plenty of good food before, but the composure of every dish here was beyond anything I've experienced. Each bite was the perfect balance of flavors and texture really making this dining experience stand above all my others. I would recommend this stop for anyone looking for an exquisite meal for any special occasion.

We went to Peter shields for our anniversary and everything was wonderful. We were greeted by the hostess with a smile and she wished us a happy anniversary. They brought over 2 glasses of champagne when we sat down. Our server Dylan(sorry I’m unsure of spelling) was amazing. He was so attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, our drinks were delicious and unique. 5/5 we can’t wait to come back.

What a nice place. I'm more fond of the back area near the bar, it has a more relaxing vibe. The food was very good, the apple pie french toast was excellent. I'd go back any time. Very friendly staff. Haven't been here in 12 years but still as good as I remember .. I will mention i would have preferred not to hear the Rhianna album the entire time I was there but you cant always get classical or Sinatra

Soild brunch spot in Cape May! Even with a 45 min wait, the experience was totally worth it. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff was welcoming, and the food delivered big on flavor. The corned beef hash was the highlight—crispy, tender, and deliciously seasoned. Breakfast potatoes were spot-on too. Portions were reasonable, and the chicken salad croissant was a pleasant surprise in both size and taste. Highly recommend for a laid-back, tasty brunch!
Will S — Google review
Not as impressive as expected This restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast options, so I had high hopes. I ordered the Brussels sprouts fritters, but they didn’t taste as good as I expected. There was still a strong, unpleasant green taste from the vegetables, and honestly, I don’t think deep-frying works well for this dish. I also tried the award-winning cupcake, but it was just average—nothing special. The pancakes were underwhelming too; I’ve had better at other places, despite all the hype in the reviews. The orange juice was supposed to be freshly squeezed, but I couldn’t tell if it actually was. It tasted overly sweet and artificial, more like something with added sugar than real juice. The one dish I did enjoy was the eggs Benedict—the thick-cut bacon made it really satisfying, and that plate was the highlight of my meal. Overall, it’s a place you could try, but you’re not missing out if you don’t. There are definitely better breakfast spots in the city.
Nitiphum S — Google review
Fruit flies fruit flies. if you close the does an turn the air conditioner on it will keep them dormant . Had breakfast here the day before, eggs a pancake were good enough so came back the next night for dinner. What a mistake. I had both specials massaged kale and couscous ok, the monkfish etouffee flavorless But the real reason for the review is the chicken breast with the cream jus. Cold dry chicken that was definitely a day old. Are waitress Joanna was the only bright spot of this place . Honest, polite, courteous It’s a shame she had to apologize for the food and the flies . Don’t fall for the FAKE Reviews

Highlight: ✨️Orange Almond French Toast✨️ One of the best flavored French toasts I've ever had! No reservations, walked up and were given a buzzer with 1.5 hour wait time. Told by staff to come back to area 45 min after receiving buzzer. We were ready and seated within 10 min of coming back (50-55 min total wait). Service was good. Food arrived after a short wait (we were very hungry so it felt longer than it was) All requests were accommodated quickly and food was well made.
Angel C — Google review
Yummy food! The Crousade was delicious and the Orange/Almond French toast hit the spot. I’m only knocking one star off because my friend’s latte was disappointing. Everything else was pretty great and would definitely recommend for a tasty breakfast spot.

Pleasant brunch spot in Cape May - we did wait almost an hour for a party of 2 on a Saturday morning (no reservations accepted for breakfast). The inside is airy and bright, feels like a boutique and very clean. The food was good, especially the corned beef hash. Worth trying if up for the wait.

Great food, great staff. Been coming here for years now and I'll keep coming back. Love the Croustade breakfast. Picture of the mango mimosa after a few sips. Try the MANmosa. ITS FANTASTIC!! If you're in Cape May, this place is a must.

Lucky Bones Backwater Grille is a popular family-friendly restaurant located in Cape May, known for its diverse menu featuring seafood dishes and casual comfort food. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere and serves up mouthwatering classics such as burgers, ribs, and of course, seafood. It is owned by the same group behind the prestigious Washington Inn, ensuring quality food and a welcoming environment for families.
Lucky Bone is a wonderful, family-friendly spot. The mussels in red sauce were fresh and flavorful, and the menu has plenty of comfort foods that make you feel at home. Their mocktails are refreshing — we especially liked the one with mint. Service was excellent; our waiter was very helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely come back!

We went to try fish n chips but ended up ordering a pizza alongside. Fish n chips were okay, but surprisingly, the pizza turned out to be really good. It was a four cheese pizza with prosciutto on top. The texture was perfect, and the flavor was amazing. We weren't expecting a good pizza at all but thankfully, now we have found a good pizza spot in Cape May.
Aon — Google review
Tayrn was amazing ! We are visiting from out of town and had the best experience. The food is amazing. I have a very sensitive gluten celiac disease. They have a whole separate menu and bring out an orange napkin so everyone knows. Then you get your food on a separate orange plate. It’s so nice to be able to be safe and still have food that doesn’t compromise on taste. I wish places where I live did this. The pizza was gluten free and the flavor was amazing. The crust is perfect. So many amazing options. Huge wine menu. Fresh clams. It was great. Be sure to go for sure !

My family and I were down in Cape May for a long weekend for my wife's Bday. We decided to check out Lucky Bones for breakfast since they only do it on weekends, and we were only a short walk away. They had a few specials, all of them sounded good. I chose the Bacon and Bleu Omellete and it was perfect. My wife got the Eggs Benedict, which she also enjoyed. The coffee was very good and our server was very attentive. All in all, a great dining experience for our family. I'd definitely recommend this place for breakfast, I'm sure their lunch and dinner options are just as good as well.

VERY busy place! Decent wine selection. Fun drinks menu. Jenni was AWESOME! Incredibly nice and prompt with everything! Table bussers were also super efficient! That bread that they serve is out of this world! I tried the soup of the day which was split pea. It was very good. I also had the fish and chips. I loved the batter! The place was packed. I highly suggest reservations. Will definitely return.

Good food and great atmosphere. We stopped mid afternoon, and there was no wait. Summer salad, sea bass tacos, mussels, and calamari were amazing Also recommend the lobster bisque!! Take a sweater as it can be quite chilly

Lucky Bones will amaze you. As soon as you walk into this restaurant, you will notice a great full service Bar and a courteous hostess station. We were escorted to our table and were met by a friendly waitress ready to assist us explaining the food specials, the incredible beer offerings, wine and other liquid offerings. I am known by my friends for my true enjoyment of food and drink and my opinions are sincere. Lucky Bones will amaze you with their food and their service. The waitress suggested the mussels served in a San Marzano tomato based sauce with Gorgonzola cheese and shredded Basil. Gorgonzola and Mussels?????? Not sure of that, but the waitress assured me it was fabulous. I listen to food staff. I am glad that I do! It is one of the best dishes of Mussels I ever tasted. Although they have an impressive menu which includes fabulous seafood dishes such as Pompano and Cobia, somehow the fresh chopped clam white pizza pie sounded like a perfect accompaniment. Damn, was I pleased that I did. It was superb! You really cannot go wrong with any dish. The food and service was exemplary and we not could go home without another meal at Lucky Bones. The Mussels and the clam pizza pie are addictive. We were fortunate enough to meet the GM Jason DeWaters as he walked the rooms assuring all guests were satisfied. A great pleasure to meet him and he is just one more reason to travel 123 miles from home to enjoy another meal at Lucky Bones Backwater Grille. You will not be disappointed………..

Located adjacent to the renowned Congress Hall in Cape May, The Blue Pig Tavern is a long-standing establishment that offers a warm and rustic dining experience. Whether you choose to dine on the patio or in the cozy dining room of this 1800s hotel, you can enjoy updated American fare.
We had dinner at the Blue Pig Tavern during a recent stay in Cape May, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable meals of our trip. The restaurant is lively and welcoming, with a bit of a buzz in the air. It’s clearly a family friendly spot, which shows in the higher noise level and the number of tables filled with multigenerational groups. We chose to eat indoors, but many diners seemed to love the outdoor seating area as well. Even though the restaurant has plenty of tables, it’s a good idea to make a reservation. They do take walk ins, but the wait looked long by the time we arrived. Despite being very busy, the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and especially helpful when it came to answering questions about gluten free options and how certain dishes could be modified. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and the scallops, both prepared gluten free. The shrimp were fresh and well chilled, and the scallops were the standout of the night, tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The rest of my family, who don’t have any dietary restrictions, were equally happy with their meals. One of the favorites was the lobster mac and cheese with added bacon, which came in a generous portion that made for great leftovers. My husband couldn’t stop talking about the mussels and the crab cakes, both of which he said were excellent. Dessert was another highlight. While the gluten free options are a little limited, the ice cream and sorbet are both very fresh and creamy. Everyone else at the table gravitated toward the apple pie à la mode, which was the favorite across the board. My youngest son had the flourless chocolate cake paired with a hazelnut gelato, and he absolutely loved it. The cocktails were just as well executed as the food. There was a small issue with the second drink my husband ordered, but the staff handled it gracefully and quickly. The fixed version came out perfect, and it was nice to see that kind of care taken in a busy setting. Overall, Blue Pig Tavern delivered a memorable dining experience for our whole family. The atmosphere is vibrant, the service is professional, and the food, especially the scallops, is worth the trip.

My partner and I enjoyed lovely dinner at The Big Blue Tavern located inside the beautiful Congress Hall Hotel. The rustic, old-school vibe gave it a cozy charm, and the location couldn’t be better- right in the heart of Cape May. We took advantage of their Restaurant Week deal ($50 per person) which was a solid value. The food was delicious. I started with the fried calamari, crispy and well-seasoned—followed by the chicken with mashed potatoes, which was tender and satisfying. My partner loved the steak and frites, cooked just right. The apple pie for dessert was a classic, sweet ending. Service was good friendly and efficientand the overall experience made it the best dinner of our Cape May trip.

My family and I stopped by the Blue Pig for an early dinner and had such a wonderful experience. We didn’t have a reservation and were a big party but they got us seated outside like we requested. It was so beautiful outside. The service was great. The parker rolls were excellent! We ordered a bunch of different entrees and they were all excellent! So happy we stopped by here and will be sure to come again next time.

We stopped at the Blue Pig Tavern for dinner after having drinks and bang bang shrimp outside in the famous rocking chairs at Congress Hall. We decided to eat outside in order to enjoy the gorgeous September evening. The atmosphere was perfection. The food and service left a little bit to be desired. The place was not overly crowded, but our waitress was not very attentive, as we sat with empty water and glasses, waiting for our wine. Given the prices, I was hoping for a better experience.
Deborah S — Google review
Went here for lunch, got the steak frites, the turkey bacon avocado sandwhich and sangria. Steak frites was on the money, I wish I had a better picture but I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. This steak could easily compete with a top rated steakhouse. The sandwhich was really good, fries were perfect, and the salad was good too. I cant say the same fornthe sangria, it wasn't for me but I did try it, it seemed to lack authenticity. Dropped in a few pieces of fruit and some red wine with a spritz of something from a bar soda gun (grenadine or maybe cranberry). Not horrible but not too good.

We had a fantastic dinner at The Blue Pig Tavern in Cape May and honestly can’t understand why this place isn’t rated higher. From the start, the fresh rolls and butter were out of this world, seriously some of the best we’ve had anywhere. We shared the lobster mac and cheese and calamari appetizers, and both were outstanding. The portions were generous, especially for a resort town, and the lobster mac was packed with meat, at least four full claws plus more throughout. For entrees, I had the gnocchi alla sorrentina (which was rich and perfectly cooked), my wife had the fish and chips (crispy and light), and our kids devoured the burger and mac and cheese off the kids’ menu. Every dish hit the mark, flavorful, fresh, and well-executed. On top of that, our server Laura was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend The Blue Pig, great food, great value, great service!
Tanner M — Google review
Attached to Congress Hall, this is a dining must when visiting or staying in Cape May. Much of their food is sourced from their other property, Beach Plum Farm, in West Cape May. We stopped in for lunch and were very impressed with both of our meals. The lobster roll was moist and delicious and the superfood bowl with salmon was also a great choice. They provide indoor or outdoor dining weather permitting.

We just arrived home from a week stay in Cape May. We had our breakfast at The Blue Pig five out of the seven days. The ice coffee is beyond perfection, each meal was delicious, along with great service. The female manger was so welcoming/happy, gifted my child a pig sticker each day and knew where we preferred to dine. Was very enjoyable and relaxing, we definitely will be back. My six year old who is a very picky eater enjoyed her variety of meals as well. The only restaurant who didn't clear my meal/drink when dinning as a solo parent with a small child. Thank you for the hospitality!!

The Washington Inn & Wine Bar is an elegant American restaurant located in a Victorian plantation house, offering a sophisticated dining experience. The menu features fresh seafood, locally-sourced produce, and inventive twists on traditional dishes. Guests can savor appetizers like chilled shrimp with tropical fruits or roasted mushroom soup, followed by main courses such as seafood cioppino and crab cakes. The restaurant's historic charm adds to the ambiance, with options to dine in the formal dining room or on the charming screened-in porch.
We had an 8:30 reservation and arrived a bit early. Right away, the host let us know we’d be seated closer to our reserved time and invited us to relax at a bar table. A bar waiter quickly took our drink order, and we were seated right on time. The hostess even mentioned they saved us a lovely window seat, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything we ordered was fantastic—from the oysters Rockefeller to the crab cakes and cioppino. Service was attentive and warm throughout. A high-caliber dining experience in every way, absolutely worth a visit.

We recently dined at Washington Inn and were seated in the wine cellar, a small and cozy space with just three tables. It's a unique, intimate setting that some may find charming, though it might not be for everyone. If you're looking for a quiet, tucked-away experience, it's definitely a cool spot. Service was attentive and professional throughout the evening, which we appreciated. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the high expectations set by the atmosphere and price point. The crab cakes were a letdown, fried and packed with shredded lump meat, lacking the delicate texture and flavor you’d hope for, especially being down the shore. The rack of lamb, while cooked nicely, consisted of only four small lollipop chops and didn’t feel like a good value. On a brighter note, the flounder special was excellent, fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Cocktails were also a highlight of the evening. Overall, Washington Inn has a nice ambiance and solid service, but for a more consistently satisfying dining experience in Cape May, I’d recommend Peter Shields instead.

Easily one of my top five dining experiences ever - better than some Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve enjoyed. Even their simple garden salad was extraordinary. Do not pass on the Mediterranean sea bass - the fish was perfectly prepared, and the salsa verde was one of the most complex, unctuous sauces I’ve ever had. The flavors of the sorbet were so concentrated and clear - I couldn’t stop eating them, especially the mango. The service was outstanding, and the price performance was excellent. This was a transcendent meal - can’t wait to come back.

Went here for the first dinner as a married couple after our wedding. No less than four wedding guests screamed and said “you’re gonna have a great time” when we told them where we were headed for dinner the following day. We did in fact, have a great time! The caviar is some of the best I’ve ever had and we were treated to the fabulous story of how the farmers met working at the Inn. It was a picturesque restaurant, absolutely incredible service and a memory I will treasure forever. Can’t wait to go back!

I have to give full credit to my besties hubby for planning all the reservations while we stayed in Cape May earlier this summer. We dined at Washington Inn on our first night & it was fantastic. Very elegant but never obnoxious. Highly recommend reservations. The food & service were beyond expectations. Huge dining areas & the staff were all so very kind. Located on a lovely street that begs to be walked after dinner. We loved every moment of this dining experience!

We had the most amazing time at the Inn wine bar with bartenders Robin and Justin. They gave us all of the local tips and made us feel like regulars, even though it was our first time. We’ve already taken them up on their recommendations and it’s made our stay in Cape May so special! We can’t wait to come back

Exceptional meal and superb drinks. The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly. We met a couple celebrating 40 years married and this is their top spot, says a lot about the food and the experience as they come back every year.

George's Place Beachfront is a beloved eatery that has been serving American and Greek cuisine since 1968. With multiple locations in Cape May and one in Wildwood, it has become a landmark dining destination. The newer Ocean Street location offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as takeout options, while the original spot on Beach Avenue provides a charming cash-only, BYOB experience.
This place is a hidden gem for breakfast. I don’t think many people know about it. I found it searching Google for places near my hotel room. There was no wait at all which I was surprised since it’s a Saturday morning in July and the place is really small. My husband and I both enjoyed our food. I like the breakfast options. Only negative was the coffee was very watered down. Not sure if I got a bad batch or if they always make their coffee this way. I would definitely come back!

Crazy place, stopped by for a cup of regular coffee to go, no frills, no nothing... small cup of Folgers .... set me back ... $4!!!!! Incredible how the some businesses ovetcharge. One place i will definitely NOT go back to.

We love it here! Great value for money, great food. We've sampled both breakfast and lunch, both are great! Breakfast has standard offerring and some more creative items (limoncello French toast). Lunch brings out more of a Mediterranean flavor. The Gyro is flavorful and hearty for example. Everything well seasoned, nothing bland, portions not stingy, service is pleasant. Cash only I believe. Someone mentioned its a hidden gem and I agree, its unassuming. Actually quite refreshing in comparison to other cape may restaurants.

I visited Cape May this weekend for the first time since my Coast Guard graduation in 2022 and decided to have breakfast at George’s Place with my wife. Unfortunately, the experience reminded me that racism still exists, even in places that promote hospitality. From the moment we sat down, the only interaction we had with our waiter and waitress was to order, receive the food, and pay the bill. They never checked if everything was okay, never offered refills, and completely ignored us the entire time. Meanwhile, every other table around us, filled with white customers, received attentive and friendly service. When I finally asked for more coffee, the waiter (with an Italian accent or similar) brought it with a bad attitude, spilled some, and didn’t bother to clean it. After paying, I chose not to leave a tip because of the poor treatment, and the same waiter (Italian accent) followed me outside, confronting me and saying it was “disrespectful” not to tip, even though his service was clearly intentional and unprofessional. The food itself was great, but the service was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. Being followed outside over a tip after being ignored during the meal was unacceptable. It’s sad that in 2025, this kind of behavior still happens. To my fellow Coasties and anyone who values respect, think twice before supporting a place that treats people differently based on how they look or speak. Racism is real. Thank you to the male waiter (with an Italian accent) for reminding me of that today, October 25, 2025, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:50 a.m.

Small little breakfast spot Cape May that you won't regret going to. We normally go to Uncle Bill's, but I wanted to try something new on this place did not disappoint. Everything we had was a great spin on breakfast, as well has having the classics.

We have had dinner here several times in the past and it was excellent. Today I was the first time for breakfast and it was great- beautiful luxury teas, high end jam and a generously portioned Norwegian Smoked Salmon platter. It felt like breakfast and lunch combined - served with a toasted bagel over a generous bed of greens and the best olive oil I have ever tasted. This is not a diner in the traditional sense with an all day menu. I consider it a restaurant open for three different meal times, each with their own upscale menu.
Dolores P — Google review
We love all the George’s places haven’t hit wildwood yet but we will. You can count on the consistency throughout the different spots. I always get the gyro it was just as good here as the other spots the platter. Ones with a healthy portion of potatoes like a fries chip but they are delicious either way we love them it also comes with a side of salad also a healthy portion. The management knows how to train everyone and are able to transfer the experience throughout their restaurants which I appreciate. My wife gets the salmon scramble which she loves love loves it’s a great deal. Plus they serve breakfast till like 2pm making it perfect for a breakfast person like my wife and s lunch person like myself. If you are wondering it’s definitely worth going. The one on the beach offers views of beach street which at the time we were there had the starlings murmurations flying in and out great beach diner atmosphere court.

Louisa's Cafe, located in a cozy blue and yellow cottage in Cape May, New Jersey, has been a pioneer of the farm-to-table philosophy since its establishment in 1980. The charming dining room offers a rich menu featuring seafood caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, as well as locally sourced fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The expertly seasoned dishes are prepared with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Adorable French spot with fresh seafood.. the Cajun crab soup was lite and delicious- plus the swordfish and bluefish were perfectly paired with brown rice and a freshly crispy cabbage salad- for desert the vanilla bread pudding came wonderfully paired with a creme---- highly recommend this place! Can't wait to come back
Amanda B — Google review
After coming to Cape May for years we always wanted to try Louisa’s but could never get a reservation. Always walking by, peeking the windows looking at the amazing food and atmosphere feeling envious. We finally secured a reservation! But I’m not going to lie… the experience was a disappointment. First the service was extremely slow, we waited 30 minutes for a server. Then it just took just as long to get our entrees. The fish was very tasty but the sides are just sad. Every entree comes with dry brown rice and random slaw…. They really missed the mark with sides. We had the salmon, flounder and scallops. All were fresh and tasted great. Ohh and it’s BYOB, might be nice if they put that on their website. They did redeem themselves with dessert. Dessert was phenomenal. We had chocolate pie, vanilla bread pudding, spiced dark chocolate bread pudding and the panna cotta. Glad we gave Louisa’s a try to finally cross off our list but we probably won’t be back

Really good food and friendly staff. Sitting outside is my preference but bring sunglasses in case the sun gets in your eyes 😎 My only recommendation to the restaurant would be to offer possible other sides with dishes to add some variety, since most dishes come with brown rice + slaw only. Really tasty soup of the day and salads. BYOB but there’s a liquor store literally across the street. Will definitely be back again!

Dinner for four at Louisa’s last night did not disappoint. We started with the cajun crab soup which had generous portions of crab meat, Smoked Salmon Rillettes served with Golden Wheat Crackers, and a roasted beet salad with Gorgonzola Cheese and Vidalia Onions. For entrees the Cape May Scallops with Tamari and Ginger was delicious and the dipping sauce gave it a little kick. The Crab Cakes with Homemade Tartar Sauce were wonderful, everyone raved about the tartar sauce! The deserts are something to save space for at the end of the meal. Louisa's Chocolate Pie with Orange Apricot Glaze is a must try. Staff is friendly and attentive. This is a BYOB restaurant. Can’t say enough about Louisa’s except go there and enjoy.

super friendly waitress (thanks heather!) she served our big table with patience and care. delicious starters, big portions of fresh seafood, and the most amazing desserts (bread pudding! key lime pie! rice pudding!) highly recommend for a nice dinner in cape may.

Most of their main courses are essentially the same -- they just vary the seafood element and the dipping sauce. The seafood seems super-fresh and well prepared, though. Desserts were more varied and extremely good.

One of our absolute favorites! The seafood is fantastic and the sides are a perfect accompaniment. Their sauces are great, the salads are amazing and deserts even better. The staff are so friendly and accommodating! Don’t sleep on Louisa’s !!

We went with two friends, have literally went here since the nineties. Unfortunately not much has changed on the menu although desert has vastly improved. I will go by my experience I got the sesame peanut noodles app was a good start kinda small for the price not much involved noodles covered in peanuts cucumbers and green onion in a sesame dressing. I liked it my companions enjoyed their salads. My main I went with the jerk chicken really bland. You would think for jerk chicken the flavor would be more pronounced. Side of basicly raw cabbage masquerading as Cole slaw and undercooked rice masquerading as rice. My wife got the salmon weird thing they gave her bbq sauce where as mine had a red pepper sauce I used it for the coleslaw because of its mayonnaise type consistency I gave it to my wife for her salmon and told her my coleslaw idea which she thanked me for, she said hers was good except the bones she encountered in the salmon and I'm gonna say people do miss bones in a fish I was a chef at a restaurant in Philly I know I did. Besides that mains were a bit of a let down. Now desert I stumbled on a home run it was a mint chocolate Pot de crème my wife had the key lime pie and our friends apple crumb w vanilla ice cream and chocolate pie they looked great and from the looks went down great too. Our server was so nice and accommodating kept my ice teas filled. The outside on an early sept night couldn't be beat. We will prob be back because it's a tradition with us like I said the 90s but it'd be great to see them step it up and try some new things. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it but it's the same menu I remember from thirty five years ago. There are too many new places to try and if it wasn't our friend's favorite we would not go. Sorry not sorry.did I mention how nice our server was awesome. Got the third star for desert.

Exit Zero Filling Station is a laid-back eatery with a nostalgic diner atmosphere and an option for outdoor dining. It's a unique blend of a gas station, airstream trailers, bar, and restaurant that seamlessly come together in one of America's oldest beach towns. The establishment offers a diverse menu featuring burgers, curries, and cocktails. The weekly magazine named after the place adds to its charm.
My wife and I visited this past Wednesday night, and we both loved our meals. I had the Christmas Curry and she had the Bang Bang Shrimp and Chicken curry. Both dishes were amazing and delicious! A lot of thought went into the menu and decor, and our server was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. This was all a wonderful dining experience. Very special.

We came to eat here at the end of August. The atmosphere was very nice. It had outdoor seating with charming decor. We came at opening time on a Monday, and live music was being setup. Our selection was Indian Disco Fries, Brussels Sprouts, and Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp. The fries were pretty good. I liked the mild curry flavor paired with the creamy goat cheese on top of crispy waffle fries. The Brussel Sprouts were great! They were crispy and a bit sweet. We weren't big fans of the curry. It was okay, but perhaps a bit too mild and toned down for our taste. The chicken and shrimp were also a bit overcooked. Overall, it was a pleasure eating here, and I'd come back again.

I love coming here every summer, especially for their curry. However after today I will never go again! We ordered the Butter Chicken Curry as usual, which came out to be nothing like it was before! The sauce looked almost separated with oil/butter. And mixing the rice in/ stirring everything together only made it worse! It was like a spoonful of oil every time you picked up your spoon. We also ordered the naan bread, which came out wrapped in aluminum foil rather than a plate! One of our forks was also dirty/ still covered with food, therefore we asked for another and got a new fork that also had food on it! The place and decorations were all the same. Our waiter was super nice and even took the curry dishes off the bill. But I don’t even think I could ever come back to that place after seeing that as my dish. And in the end I didn’t feel like I was eating at a restaurant, felt like I was eating at an overpriced fast food place! Also they have completely shortened the menu so don’t expect everything to still be there. The menus are a double sided piece of paper that they reuse to everyone even after rips and food stains from guest before

A little strange thought we were pulling up to some type of BBQ little did i know not at all it was indian food didnt see one indian person either all i saw was white people and a 14 year old spanish boy who brought us out the food so confused first thing they gave us menus with sauce on them the food was good my salmon little over done and the fries were cold and hard but they bring out new ones not going to be to hard on them think I could but it was tasty so yea.

Been a while since we stopped here but I never wrote the review. Very interesting concept that works for nice summer days. The food was amazing! The lobster Mac and cheese had more lobster than noodles and was delicious. My wife got the butter chicken that I thought I wouldn't like but the flavors were so complimentary to each other and it ended up being my favorite dish. The only reason I gave 4 stars was the burger I got was barely average and tasted rather boring. But will stop again if we are riding down this way.
Omar — Google review
Interesting and innovative eatery. Ordered a chicken curry that was a very odd flavor. Curries can vary a lot and this is their style, and they do try to explain the heavy coconut milk base. I was most unhappy with the offering of a Nan that was just a pita wrapped in foil. Really?

The Boiler Room at Congress Hall is a cozy underground eatery and music club that offers brick-oven pizzas, pub fare, and artisanal cocktails. Located inside the historic Congress Hall, it serves farm-fresh salads and signature pizzas made with ingredients from Beach Plum Farm. The establishment also hosts events like Halloween parties with DJ entertainment, dance floors, costume contests, and giveaways.
Reviewers are ridiculous. This is not a sit down family restaurant. Cape May has some of the finest dining anywhere within walking distance. Why you would come here for a plate of pasta is beyond me. Its a dark, dingy basement afterhours club. If you expect any thing more you will be disappointed. If you know where you are going, you will have a great time. Food is good to mediocre, drinks are strong, music is loud.

Super fun and underground feel, with a little 90s and 2000s alternative and classic hits playing. Come here for the pizza and drinks and leave stuffed and happy! We did the arugula and prosciutto for one, and the soppressata and capicola pizza for the other. Deliciously sweet and salty mix, with outstanding flavor in dough and sauce. Cooked brick oven style to perfection. Highly recommend getting a spot in this cozy location, the earlier the better. Hands down, the best pizza in Cape May.

I had an excellent time here. My drinks were exceptional and the vibe is perfect for the summer. My bartender Zak stood out as not only professional but extremely friendly, and knowledgeable. As someone who works as a bartender myself, People like him create regulars. I’ll definitely be back!

We stopped into the Boiler Room at Congress Hall and overall had a mixed experience. The space itself is very cool—tucked away downstairs with lots of TVs around the bar and a unique, hidden vibe. The bartender was excellent—super friendly and attentive. It can be chilly inside though, so I’d recommend bringing a jacket. Where things fell short was with the table service. I arrived ahead of my wife and mom, had a glass of wine, and asked our server if it was possible to switch a TV to the US Open men’s championship. She said she’d ask a manager, but after that I sat for about 30 minutes with an empty glass without anyone checking back in, despite managers walking by several times. Eventually I had to go to the bar myself for another drink. Later, when my wife joined me, she also went to the bar for her drink. At that point, the server asked (more than once) whether we were going to keep ordering at the bar or through her. The way it was asked came off more rude than helpful, which left us feeling unwelcome. After finishing our drinks, we decided to leave and head elsewhere. The Boiler Room has a lot going for it—the setting is fun, and the bar staff is great—but our table service experience really missed the mark and made it hard to want to stay longer.

Mediocre pizza, expensive drinks, average service. The shining spot was the Ceasar salad was delicious and it did have a nice vibe/atmosphere. They have a limited menu and focus is on the pizza. You would think it would be a much better product. But alas to each his own, this was just one persons opinion.
T Z — Google review
***4 1/2 stars*** Boiler Room was the one place I really wanted to go during our recent Cape May debauchery weekend, pretty much entirely because it looked like it was literally in a boiler room and the food appeared to be at least edible. I'm high maintenance, but not at all. This was our first official stop for dinner this past Friday night. After being dropped off at Congress Hall by a friendly Uber driver (who reaffirmed this as a recommendation during the drive), we made our way into the building and found this place fairly easily. For any of the businesses within Congress Hall, there are numerous signs throughout with arrows pointing in the direction of said establishments. You will be stunned to learn that one of the arrows for Boiler Room pointed down into the basement, where we were promptly shown a table a few feet from the island bar. As an aside, all of Congress Hall was pretty spiffy/historic, and we would have had zero issue lingering after dinner at one of the other establishments if it hadn't been so crowded. As expected, the interior was a lot of fun to look at. It's sort of grimy but VERY intentional; it's like a gentrified unfinished basement. There's a lot of exposed stonework, but not like foofy English garden walls - it literally looks like you took a chisel to your own basement and got rid of the plaster. There was also a small DJ/dance area off to the side that presumably got pretty rocking after my bedtime. Lot of fun. Our waiter was a delight. Admittedly the service WAS a bit sluggish to start off (and to be fair, it seemed chaotic/busy initially), but he redeemed himself pretty quickly. He looked like a poor man's Eddie Redmayne and was very charming/friendly. Beyond that initial wait, I don't think there was any other point during the adventure where we were actively looking around for him. The orders were relayed promptly and correctly. I also of course forgot my credit card at the table, and he rushed over to us by the exit with it and rescued me from what would undoubtedly have been a very annoying Saturday morning. I had diligently been chugging 120 ounces of water a day for the prior week, so I had no qualms about perusing the cocktail menu immediately. I went with Lavender & Lemon ($14), which came as zero surprise to my dining companions, who have been down this road with me before (I have a floral beverage weakness). I'm not crazy about the citrus family, but this is definitely an exception - the lavender complemented and ultimately negated a lot of the lemon for me, and the sparkling wine gave it a nice kick. I had two and easily could have convinced myself to get a third if we had lingered a bit longer. We split the meatball app ($10) and a few pizzas, though I stayed true to the pepperoni ($16). I'm not usually crazy about getting toppings, but the pepperoni was strongly recommended by prior reviewers and deservedly so. The pepperoni had a nice smoky char to it, and was the only one of three pizzas not to survive the night. The bathrooms were...interesting. One of my chums came back commenting that it reminded her of a Macy's dressing room, which I can't really argue with. The bathroom stall doors are slatted so it DOES feel a little exposed, but you'd have to be a really creative peeping tom to do any damage there. The stalls themselves are pretty small but allow for just enough space for a personal sink, which I thought was a nice touch. There aren't a lot of basements I'd go out of my way to eat in, but this is one of them. Strong recommend.
EE G — Google review
Solid choice for brick oven pizza and salads. Plenty of TVs and a lively scene. The bar was busy, but the wait for food and drinks was quick. The space is cool - it's the basement level under Congress Hall.

This place deserves a 0 . We ordered 2 apps meatballs and pasta. Meatballs came out ice cold , and the waitress exchanged it and they tasted like ikea meatballs with awful tomato sauce.. then we order a margarita pizza and special pizza . They should have fresh mozzarella but instead had shredded cheese and very salty , sauce is awful. THIS IS NOT PIZZA.. after all that our pasta app came it was the worst I ever had in my life..whoever gives this place a positive review doesn't know food. 1st and last time we go there..

Good Earth Organic Eatery is a low-key, counter-service cafe located in West Cape May, NJ. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu with Italian-inspired vegan and seafood dishes made from locally-sourced organic ingredients. It has become popular among healthy food enthusiasts, vegans, and vegetarians for its homemade breads, pasta, soups, and salads. Good Earth Organic Eatery can accommodate various dietary needs and allows patrons to bring their own alcohol.
I first found this establishment on door dash. I was shocked to find an organic restaurant with so many vegan/gluten free options. I had delivery twice from them before finally stopping in for lunch on our way out of town. The aroma that hits you as soon as you walk in the door is intoxicating, if I could bottle it, I would. The skill, care and attention to detail that goes into each dish is apparent and unmatched. In the few days I was there I enjoyed the mushroom risotto, crab cake sandwich, Mac and cheese, pesto pasta, bean “meat balls”, flourless chocolate cake and pumpkin bread pudding. My boyfriend also ordered a smoked flounder sandwich, he’s not a foodie and he usually complains when I take him to places like this but he said it was the best thing he had eaten in a long time. I immediately started texting family in the area and they already knew about this place and said to try to gelato next time. Trust me, there will be a next time. I’d go back to Cape May just for this place. Our waitress was wonderful, the dining room was beautiful, I even bought a shirt on my way out. It’s not often that I’m blown away by restaurants because my diet is so strict, this place blew my mind. I’ll be dreaming about that Mac and cheese until I can get back there. To the owners and staff: thank you for what you’re doing. Your hard work and skill is obvious in every meal you put out, and I appreciate it so much. If you ever decide to expand and open a place in Northeast Pennsylvania, I’ll be your best customer! Thank you!

We ordered an all-vegan catered dinner for a group of 30 people and the food was delicious, beautiful, and wonderfully fresh. We had a lovely variety of salads, appetizers, pastas, and risottos, including several gluten-free options. Our guests, many of whom are not vegan or vegetarian, were raving about the dinner and we had lots of leftovers that we ended up eating again the next day and they were still amazing on day two. Contrano and his team were responsive, professional, and very skilled and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great catering team.

The Good Earth Organic Eatery is truly a magical gem. From the moment you walk in, the energy and atmosphere feel uplifting and revitalizing. The aroma alone is enough to make you smile—it’s absolutely delightful. Every dish we tried was prepared with such care and was simply perfect, bursting with flavor and freshness. Even as a vegan, I felt completely spoiled with the options and quality—it’s rare to find a place that feels this thoughtful and satisfying. If I find myself back in this part of the world, there’s no question—I’ll be back here in a heartbeat.

Good Earth is a cute little restaurant that I think you could easily call a hidden gem. The focus is on sustainable, vegetarian food and definitely appears to be farm to table given how fresh all the food tasted. Loved the asparagus and curry stew, veggie board (lentil dal, risotto, sauteed sprouts), salad, and the strawberry mocktail! After a long day of walking and getting sunburnt, somehow this felt like a much needed revival! I really wish I had room for the salmon dish as well, I'm sure that was terrific!

My sister and I were in Cape May for the day. I have Celiac disease and my sister was recently diagnosed with Alpha-gal syndrome (the tick transmitted red meat allergy) so we needed someplace that was vegan and gluten free. I found Good Earth Organic Eatery on the Atly app. The menu included fresh fish, vegan, and GF options. This place was fantastic! So much to choose from that we will definitely go back to try more. This time I had the salmon with lemon dill sauce and my sister had the flounder with marinara sauce. We shared the chocolate brownie cake for dessert and each took home peach blueberry crumble for later. It’s a BYOB establishment. The server did say they are a seasonal restaurant, spring through fall. Thank you for serving fresh, healthy food that also can accommodate food allergies.

Mayer's Tavern, a beloved establishment with over 70 years of history, offers a cozy ambiance with exposed brick walls and wooden beams. Located by the Cape May harbor, it is known for its classic American dishes like fresh seafood, steaks, and burgers. The menu also includes small plates and dinner specials such as their renowned scallops. The full bar serves craft cocktails, local beers, and an impressive wine selection.
We had a great first experience here a few weeks back. Excellent shore vibes, friendly hospitality, fast service, amazing food. Especially loved the calamari (perfect texture, great add-ins) and scallops (so sweet lightly fried but not greasy), plus the delicious carrots that were on special. Drinks were on point as well. Chocolate mousse was the cherry on top for dessert! Can’t wait to return again later this summer 😎

Another fantastic meal at Mayer's Tavern. Tonight I had the yogurt marinated chicken. It was really hard not to get the scallops but I was just there last week so I convinced myself to try something different. Family who I had dinner with both got the scallops and when their plates were delivered I was feeling a little regret looking at the amazing plate of scallops but that quickly changed when I took the first bite of my chicken. The chicken was just as fantastic as the scallops. A perfectly cooked airline breast with crispy skin and tender juicy breast seasoned nicely and served with polenta and greens. Everything I have tried has been really well prepared, thoughtfully seasoned and complimented by sides and sauces that elevate the flavor of top quality ingredients prepared with attention to detail. Can't wait to return and try some more great menu items or specials. If I lived closer I'd be a regular for sure. Very limited menu but what they do they do very well. Great dishes I've tried: Scallops of course, mussels, crab fritters, yogurt marinated Chicken, Zucchini and Squash with green goddess dressing (app special), chocolate mousse.

Mayers is the best in town. We crave their food. The scallop platter, the burger, the kale salad , the clams……😀 Update on 8/2/25: They took the clam appetizer off, but added this crispy chicken app. Though i was very frustrated about the clam appetizer getting pulled :( , the crispy chicken app blew me away. This chef and crew create tastes that you would have never thought existed. The bread pudding is the best you will ever have. This place is amazing.

We dine at Mayer’s a few times each summer and it is a nice, off the beaten track establishment. A lot of the food is fried but they continue to add non-fried items. They’ve added more specials this summer including fresh fish options. The portions are flavorful and fairly priced. The bar is nice and cozy and often packed. The indoor restaurant is small and can get full quickly on inclement days when the outside porch dining is closed. They always have a unique wine list with offerings from many smaller, lesser known vineyards. There is some parking next to the restaurant and usually street parking can be found. We enjoy dining here and think you will too.

Very nice place to stop. Casual but classy. Easy to get a seat. Specials available. Indoor and outdoor seating for 1,2 or groups. Bartenders are attentive. We would go back. Walking distance from South Journey Marina.

I always get a burger my first time at a restaurant if I'm unsure if they make good food or not. If they can't make a good burger, the rest of the food is going to suck just as much. I'd rather spend $19 on a burger than $45 on a steak or seafood to find out they use frozen grocery store meat. Not the case here. Really great burger. Obviously ground, not frozen or store bought patty, with a nice blend, great flavor, and well put together end product. My wife's scallops, the fries, and the desserts were also all excellent. Servers were great and were very gracious even with my toddler making a mess on the floor. Prices are reasonable. Nit picks: the bourbon lemonade kind of a foofoo drink (I should have asked beforehand) and is very lemon sour forward and needs a higher ratio of bourbon (for people who actually want to taste bourbon), and they won't split a check, even 50/50. Pretty silly in this day in age. But oh well.

Had dinner with the wife and daughter here Thursday night, 9/18/2025... This was one of the best dinners we have ever had. FIVE STAR everything at a very good price. The oysters, the bluefish, the squid, the tile fish....Everything was fresh and prepared and presented perfectly. And the wait staff even better. Will be going back again for certain. Thank you for a great experience...

Our new fav place for breakfast in Cape May, NJ. Family owned - with pride - this cafe serves a very interesting, varied, and delicious menu! Service is with a smile and attentive, prices are reasonable, and the food tastes great! I liked that they accommodated special menu requests. Can’t wait until our next visit!!

Came here for breakfast so can’t speak to their lunch/dinner menus. The food was fantastic, came out quite quickly. Server was great as well. Coffee was better than your typical diner experience. Atmosphere inside was also great. Highly recommend.

I really loved this place. Probably because I love Jesus. I enjoy the fact that they have Bible verses around. The hostess was really sweet and our server PJ was such a nice dude. Offered suggestions and came over and asked how we were. The food was good. I got the Mahi mahi with shrimp and it tasted fresh but I just didn’t think it was flavorful but not bad. I think I should have gotten pasta but I didn’t want to be full for the rest of my days.

I'm a local who comes here often with friends for the great food and terrific service! Most recently we had lunch, of sandwiches and delicious sweet potato fries made just the way we like! Our server was Hazel, a kind and very capable young women who took good care of us! The week prior we had breakfast omelets with toast served by Kim, another wonderful server! It's always a pleasure to relax, chat, and eat great food in this laid back happy cafe! Go - get happy!

We absolutely loved it here! From the decor to the food and of course the service! We had the best waitress RACHEL P!! She was awesome. She gave us recommendations on food and such great conversations with us. Definitely a good vibe. We lived it here so much we went two days in a row. The food was delicious and they had gluten free options!

Another popular eatery was super busy so we drove by here looking for a solid place for breakfast. I'm so glad it was so busy there because this place was AMAZING. They had decent foot traffic and it was steady but with the food, service and overall quality, I would expect it to be SUPER busy. We got flapjacks, omelettes, acai bowls, etc and everything was fresh, came out fast and service was attentive. Would come here everyday for breakfast and lunch if we could.

I got the Linda Christine with vegan chicken and vegan cheese. It was hot fresh and flavorful. Absolutely delicious. Fresh, Flavorful, and Veggie-Loving! The owner is friendly and the food is prepared quickly, fresh and served hot or delivered hot and timely.” The pizzas here taste like they were just pulled from the oven—crispy crust, bright sauce, and fresh toppings. As a veggie lover, I was delighted by their garden-fresh options. A solid 4.5 out of 5!

Visiting Cape May for a week and struggling to find good pizza. Walked past Mario's on our way to the Acme and decided to give it a try. Just average food. I ordered the plain cheese pizza. The crust was good, the tomato sauce had little to no flavor and the cheese was just melted not toasted or browned. Pizza is average. My partner ordered the Spaghetti Marinara, again just average. The pasta was a mix of spaghetti and linguine, like the leftover pasta. The sauce had little flavor, and the bread and salad were just ok. Overall, just average Italian food.

Awesome Pizza.. Only one word to describe the food here - "FANTASTIC" My wife doesn't like pizza at other places in New Jersey, but will only eat Mario's Pizza. We make it a point to visit Mario's whenever we are at the shore. We even travel to Cape May when we are on vacation in Wildwood to get pizza from Mario's.

The YB is a charming, petite restaurant located on Beach Ave, just a few blocks from The Queen Victoria. It offers contemporary American cuisine with influences from Asian and Mediterranean flavors. Opened in 2011 by Yianni Tsiartsionis, the restaurant is known for its delicious food and interesting presentation. As a BYOB establishment, guests can bring their own wine or beer to enjoy with their meal.
Loved this place The decor and music set the tone. Steve did a great job. The compliments to the staff and the chef. The concept of Amuse bouche is a lost art. The presentation is amazing, the goat cheese ravioli is delicious as well as the fried tomatoes as the app. For us this was a great find...THANK YOU !
Leo C — Google review
All the way down at the bottom of New Jersey, on a road called Beach Avenue, is a restaurant which somehow manages to block out all of the amazing light and splendor of the beach. Sure, if you’re in New York City and going for a night out, I guess I understand why a dark and mysterious lounge feel would be appropriate. But, why have a restaurant right on the beach and then quite literally pull black shades across the view? Perhaps you get bored of looking out at the beach and the crashing waves when you live in this area but I would imagine most of the diners are visiting from out of town and are craving any additional time gazing at the ocean. Certainly something I will never understand. Our party of 6 had been sold in the reviews on what was apparently a delectable lobster roll, but given the restaurant is recently under new management the roll wasn't on the menu. That said, the food we did end up ordering was all artfully presented and amazingly tasty. The new owners share duties of waiting tables and chef-de-cuisine and are very pleasant. Our waiter, Michael, was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. We ordered a mix of appetizers which were all quite tasty but somewhat dainty. Tuna Poke Credo had absolutely beautiful cubes of tuna, and with about 6 we each got to taste one teeny tiny bite. So much room on the plate for more! Swordfish Crostini was tasty with an addition of mango if I recall which amped up the flavor. Lastly, the duck wings were both tasty and meaty and, since they're stacked on top of each other, you are able to play a quick round of Jenga before consuming. Highly recommended (both the wings and the Jenga). Entrées were artfully plated and delicious, however certainly on the expensive side. The crabcakes were among the most expensive dinner options and came with two rather large hockey pucks of fantasticness which were gluten-free and packed full of crab and were absolutely exquisite. Barramundi was lacking sufficient seasoning and sauce for our taste, and the texture for someone not familiar with barramundi was not what we had expected. Certainly not flaky, but also not dense like a Mahi Mahi - sort of in between. One comment for the chef - most of the entrées came with some sort of bean sprout shoot which neither added complementary flavor nor much in terms of decoration. I found it rather amusing that after we all essentially had licked our plates clean each plate still had one or two bean sprouts remaining. Perhaps a sprig of parsley would be more welcome and prettier and tastier too. Forgot to mention - this is a BYOB establishment and they’re happy to provide nice glasses as well as ice as needed. After dinner, unfortunately when we were there they were out of any gluten-free dessert options so we were unable to give them a shot, but for you gluten eaters the options seemed somewhat abbreviated but sounded potentially tasty. Overall, would recommend in terms of food, but still rather surprised at the lack of scenery given the location.
Kristian O — Google review
The food was absolutely fantastic. It was creative, well-executed, and full of flavor. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The service was painfully slow and disorganized, and the overall experience was frustrating from start to finish. The owner left in the middle of dinner service and told the server to lock up for him, which felt completely unprofessional and left the staff scrambling. It's clear the kitchen has talent, but the front-of-house management is a mess. As much as I’d love to recommend it based on the food alone, I simply can’t. Great food doesn’t make up for a dreadful overall experience.

Opened for brunch from 9am to 1pm. We came at around 11am. Let me start by saying they had me at Lobster and then on top of that it is BYOB!!! 🤯🤯😅😅 It is a small cozy place, French decor theme to go along with the music, right in front of the beach, owned by Greeks, which should tell you how good the food is.

Cute little restaurant, BYOB. Huge portions so a good deal for the price. Favorite dishes were the salmon and crab cakes. Egg roll bowl was good but it’s 90% noodles.

Wow! Went for the lobster brunch and it was truly outstanding! Two of us ate for $30 and we're not shy of any lobster in our dishes. I had the lobster tacos my friend had the lobster BLT. Both were amazing! Really well decorated nice brunch atmosphere really neat that it's also BYOB! Bring your own champagne or bloody Mary mixtures and have an awesome brunch!

They really limited the seating which made us feel comfortable eating there during these crazy times. Started with a Greek salad and the tuna tacos. Both were good but we weren’t overly impressed. The halibut special was tasty and a nice portion was provided with the Israeli couscous. The duck was cooked really well at a perfect medium rare. The sauce though....so so sweet. Made the dish a bit out of balance. Service was really good. He was definitely friendly and attentive. I’d go back for sure but there were a few misses which is why I couldn’t quite give it a 5.

Before exploring Cape May, we decided to eat here for brunch at 11 am, which is the perfect time, because it was not packed. Our waitress was super nice and was always there to assist us. Everything was good and had great presentation! However, the food was a bit pricey, due to paying 10+ dollars for 2 full pieces of French toast and 13 dollars for chicken tenders and fries. Despite this drawback, I would come back and try out some of their lunch dishes.

A bit expensive, but not as crowded as the main area here in cape may, great food and great service. I have had the French toast which was great. Today had the shrimp and crab scampi, oh so tasty. Crab meat was done right. Light and just the right amount of flavor. My wife had the Ruben and it was delicious. Recommended.

So 1st let me say we heard wonderful things about the restaurant. So are expectations were high. Very cute staff very nice. Then came to the food. Came out very quickly. But here is the problem. My husband got an omelette that came with home fries. The home fries were dry. But the worst part there was material left on the fries. I guess it was left over from when someone cleaned the grill. See photo. They charged us 3.5 for toast. Toast. It’s bread. I mean I know inflation. But come on. We tried to show the waiter what was wrong and he was “so u are ok all good”. We never complain. Just felt a little cheated. The view was nice though. Maybe if I order other things they are better. No discouragement from going there just an honest review.

Came in based on searching for breakfast in area after running an errand. We were seated quickly and hosted by a very attentive waitress. The Eggs Benedict with Crab was outstanding. As for prices, the prices are reasonable for being near the shore. Definitely cheaper than shore town prices for breakfast. Definitely will return.

Food really wasn’t good at all. Luckily I asked for well done bacon, other members of my group did not and the bacon was basically raw. Prices were outrageous for the quality of food. We were only allowed to get take-out due to the weather, but we were allowed to sit at the outdoor tables to eat the take-out food.

La Doña Restaurante Mexicano offers a relaxed and warm dining experience, serving authentic Oaxacan-style Mexican cuisine. The menu features must-try dishes like Huachinango Al Mojo De Ajo (garlic-marinated red snapper), tableside guacamole, shrimp cocktail, ceviche, and their traditional savory chocolate mole sauce.

This is a nice and authentic Mexican restaurant. Their staff did an excellent job taking care of us. They were very accommodating and make space for our group of 9 without a reservation. Expensive food, small portions, decent taste. Save your money, also no AC. Exorbitant prices due to high rent. Tip for the restaurant, cut price to attract more customers and increase size. That way you can get more sales. I see it all the time restaurants charge more and more and they eventually close

We ate here over the weekend and had a great experience. The service was quick and amazing. The food was delicious and their Mexican coffee was out of this world, so delicious! I highly recommend having dinner here if you are in Cape May!! Our server was from Ireland, so kind and friendly. He was very helpful and attentive to our needs!

I want to start by saying that the food wasn’t worth what you pay. What led me to leave a one-star rating was the overall lack of organization, professionalism, and respect. Particularly from the owner herself. We were told the wait time would be 25–30 minutes, but we ended up waiting over an hour to be seated. After finally being seated, we waited another hour for our food to arrive. During that time, our server checked on us only once (about 10 minutes before the food came out.) What was most disappointing, however, was the owner's behavior. After leaving what I felt was a fair tip for the level of service we received, the owner, “La Doña,” called out to us, saying, “Goodbye, next time learn how to leave tips.” I found this to be incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional, especially coming from someone representing the business. No one should be pressured into leaving a large tip when the service does not meet basic expectations. I believe the owner should reflect on how she treats her customers. Especially, members of her own community. At the end of the day, it’s the customers who keep a business running, and that deserves appreciation, not criticism. We will not be returning nor recommending.
Janet — Google review
Do not come here with a stroller. We asked if we could bring our stroller in to dine and we were told yes. After waiting 45 minutes the Manager/Owner changed her mind and said it was too busy to bring the stroller in. Her attitude was rude and unsympathetic to the fact that we just waited 45 minutes to eat at their restaurant. There was a perfectly good table where the stroller would not be in the way and she said she wouldn’t seat us there because we were too small of a party. Two adults and a stroller they said they could sit with a table of 4 available. She chose to ruin our night instead of accommodate us. If they would have been honest up front we would have moved on but they let us think we would be able to dine here. Terrible management/ownership. Easily avoidable situation. Do better.
Johnathan C — Google review
The place looks nice, so we decided to give it a try. Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad, but I had much better for less, so can’t give more than 3 stars at the moment. We each had 3 tacos and shared some salsa & chips. While not bad, those were the 3 saddest tacos I ever had… plain meat, onion & parsley, no cheese, no pico de gallo, no salsa… all I can say is that if I have to choose between Qdoba and this place, I will choose Qdoba 10 times more. The service was ok, the food was ok, just not worth the price. So can’t really recommend it.

When I tell you this is a fantastic restaurant, you better believe it!!! First of all, we had a larger order, and the woman we were on call with helped us out SO much. The customer service was impeccable. Not to mention, all the food is HOMEMADE that day! The food was arguably even better. The macncheese was surprisingly good. The mashed potato’s I think could’ve used a bit more salt, but they were perfect consistency. The short rib was exquisite, pulled right apart!!! The pulled pork was good, and the asparagus was AMAZING!!! The crab cakes were very well priced, and also tasted great!!! The cream spinach was also quite good. The eggplant sandwich was VERY good, the bread was very crispy which made it even better. We got the kids pasta and marinara and that was cooked to perfection. The roasted vegetables were good, and the salmon dinner not only LOOKED good, but it tasted even BETTER!!! This restaurant is just impressive on a different level. A little note, they have the lunch menu all day!!! I think this restaurant is great for dinner, but also for grabbing lunch and going to the beach!!! Highly recommend!!!

My wife and I regularly visit Cape May and The Merion is a regular stop for us. We like the location, the old school charm of the the bar and lounge area and the adjoining "Pheasant Room". The food quality is always worth the price though the menu rarely changes much. The reason for the rating it's the host/hostess personality and the management of reservations and seating. We made reservations more than a month in advance for a particular table. When we arrived, on time, we were informed that our table was not ready yet. We enjoyed a drink at the bar, listened to the piano player and passed 15 minutes. I checked in with the host and was told the table was just being served it's appetizer. Outrageous! We were eventually given a table far from where we wanted to be. This is not a case of a slow table, but of poor management and service. There are many good things about this restaurant, but the front desk is definitely not one of them.

The restaurant booked in advance arrived on time, and there were 3 guests waiting for the table in front. The pre-dinner bread has a very good taste of muffin cake. The restaurant has a lot of guests and the waiters are very busy, but still attentive. Our main course is Halibut and Lobster Empire。taste good。

Everything about the meal was perfect! Prompt service. A live pianist. Delicious rolls and muffins with three spreads. Ample bar options and wine list. Fresh fish. Don't miss getting the potato cup. We'll definitely be back.

We had a delightful dinner this past Saturday. We had planned the weekend for my birthday. We were cheerfully greeted by Richard at the door and escorted to our table. We both had the local swordfish over gnocchi with a fennel slivered salad, absolutely delicious. The key lime pie for dessert was wonderful, also! We both had perfect martini's in a chilled glass. Excellent! All this, and an accompaniment of a talented piano player in the bar area. The server was efficient and personable, lovely as were the other servers. We ate there last year also. We hope to return in the future.

This place is a really fun night for a couple or a larger party. I always stop here when I'm in Cape May. Great bar and piano player. Very friendly atmosphere. If it's not too busy the bar tender will tell you two jokes for every one you toss up and some of the bar patrons will join in. The piano bar is jazz or standards. You're not going to hear classic rock or later. Perfectly adequate -- and sometimes very good -- food. Pub fare and more refined. Nice dining rooms if you want to sit down to eat at a table instead of the bar. The help are all friendly and nice. Easy going laid back joint. If you're looking for a good time where you'll have great drinks and good food and meet a lot of friendly folks then this is the spot.

My first time impression was not great. I was excited about the piano music & romantic lighting. With reservations I expected a nice table, but my husband & I were sat at the farthest end of the restaurant where I could barely hear the music. When I got up to look around for another place to be seated the place was so packed there was no where to move to. We also had no lamp centerpiece like every other table. I had to ask for one which the nice waitress brought us. And we were sat by a wall that had a spotlight on it so it was obnoxiously bright compared to the romantic ambience the rest of the place. So with an expensive menu where I couldn't enjoy my seat I wasn't thrilled. The food and staff were average. Nothing spectacular for the pricey menu. If I ever go back it would be just to sit at the bar with a drink to be able enjoy the music.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Cape May. We visit the town once a year, and go to this restaurant easily a few times each trip. It's always packed - very popular place. So sometimes we've had to wait, but always well worth it. The food has always been fantastic, save like one time when a steak was slightly overcooked. The strawberry shortcake dessert is always ordered to share because it is HUGE, but inevitably we get another one because it's so good!! The bar is one of those old school bars with the true professional bartender who's probably been there for years. He creates the best drinks and is just a really nice guy. We always get a great martini here. There's one waiter there who we usually have the luck to get - he's, like the bartender, a true professional. I can't remember his name, but you'll know when you get him. Truly raising the bar for customer service. Can't wait to go back this year!! Highly recommend!!

Renowned as one of New Jersey's most picturesque dining spots, The Blue Rose Restaurant is perfect for romantic evenings or special occasions like Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
We ate at the Blue Rose Inn twice this week: once for Sunday brunch and once for dinner. Both visits were fantastic! I defy you to find a better brunch anywhere else in Cape May: amazing 3-courses; delicious coffee and juices; and very friendly and accommodating servers. We felt like we were treated to a gourmet experience at an unbelievable price! Dinner the next night was just as delicious. Great job! Will be back soon...

Sub par food for the prices charged. The steak didn't have any flavor and tasted kind of stale. I was disappointed with the food overall. Duck confit was okay. We tried a lot of things on the menu. The menu appeared very interesting, but the actual food disappointing. The waitress talked too much. The outside seating was fabulous though. Overall I felt it was a rip off, but not sure if there any many good fine dining options in Cape May.

As a perennial top restaurant contender in Cape May I was very disappointed in our Blue Rose dining experience yesterday. The food was top notch as expected, but there was a disconnect between the front and back of house. Not sure if it was just our server, but the three tables seated near us all had a similar experience. Some examples. ... We ordered a poached pear salad for two and the server brought us a single salad. They skipped the sorbet for us and blamed it on the kitchen firing entrees prematurely! They asked us what desserts we wanted before our entrees even arrived. The explanation was that the special dessert souffle takes 20 minutes to prepare. I really don't want to have to order dessert after I finish my appetizers! When it was the proper time for dessert, our coffee was brought out 10 minutes after the actual dessert was served. Our anniversary dinner turned into a very strange affair. Not the same lovely experience we had in 2016 for our anniversary dinner.Hopefully ownership can work out the front of house kinks and return to the previous high standard.

The food is good and the waiters are professional. The portion sizes are extremely small for the price, but I suppose you get that at places like this. The one really cool thing I really liked about this place was after dinner. When we were waiting for the car, a door shook and flew open behind us and no one was there. Just a cool memory we'll always have! Haha!

Easter brunch was good. The first course dishes in particular were quite tasty (especially the rye gnocchi). The service was excellent -- our waiter Michael was on top of everything, which was impressive given our large party size. I'd go back.

I have to say, it was the best trip I've had to Cape May. The staff of both the Inn and the restaurant were so much more than just accommodating. Any question was met with an answer. Every person here had a smile and a nice thing to say. Everyone was so friendly and informative. The breakfast was beyond delicious. Coming in June meant we could eat outside and see the locals and visitors passing on the street. Such a relaxing way to begin the day. Staying for the weekend, we were able to enjoy the restaurant as well. It was the perfect amount of food. Everything we had was cooked to perfection. And the desserts! The lemon ricotta doughnuts are to die for! The homemade ice cream was the best combination of sweet and creamy. Compliments to the chef indeed!!!

Our first visit was spectacular, and we will certainly return. The atmosphere was both relaxing and elegant, and the staff was accommodating, friendly, and professional. Each of our party members enjoyed three courses, plus bread and a freshly-made lemon sorbet palate cleanser, and each was better than the last. A highlight was the mussels, made with Cape May Brewing Company beer, served already shucked. The teres major was a delight, and the desserts were excellent. We spent over two hours dining and relaxing, and we were never rushed. The chef accommodated our food allergies, and the server helped us celebrate a special birthday. In short, The Blue Rose is a gem.

This is fine dining at its best. Because all meals are prepared from scratch once ordered, plan at least 2 hours. Our food was delicious, fresh and beautifully presented; a 5-star rating is definitely warranted. John our server was very knowledgeable about each dish and was a joy to speak with between courses. Patrick visited our table regularly; our water glasses were not empty long. He, too, was a pleasure. We look forward to returning so that we can, again, savor the taste of another of the chef's creations.
