Beautifully done and sobering. Must visit for anyone interested in history. Be sure to watch the video in Visitor's Center and the mini-ones in the display room. The USS Cairo museum is very well done as well and worth the stop. The NPS has an audio tour on their app. It is only ok, but better than nothing.

I absolutely recommend the visit here to anyone. The battlefield has some markers scattered through the battlefield, like many others I have visited. It is so different here from many other battlefields, because of the terrain. Many are flatter, but this battlefield is very hilly from the trenches. I wish that the visitor center was bigger, I feel that it is too small for a battle of this importance, many other battlefields have big visitor centers with museums. I also wish that the visitor center was open everyday, this is due to changes affecting all NPS Units, it is very sad to see. My last wish is that the battlefield should be cleared like it was during the battle. Many areas have markers, but you can't see the areas, because of all of the trees and vegetation. It wasn't like this during the battle. The USS Cairo museum was great, along with the national cemetery next to it. If your nearby and can take a day trip, I would absolutely recommend it.

Going to Vicksburg I didn’t know what to expect. I was met with friendly people as well as a wealth of knowledge and history. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay and explore this park as much or as in depth as I would have liked but what we saw was great. We watched the video in the visitors center first then went on the drive. I appreciated that everything was color coded…made it easy to know what was what. The Illinois monument was incredible. I would definitely visit this again and spend more time here if we drive through this area again.

I visited on a 92 degree summer day. I was able to see most of the battlefield from the car but there are several critical areas from the battle and statues that you should get out and see. The movie at the visitors center gives you a good overview.

What an amazing experience this was. I was amazed at how much information was along the drive. Give yourself several hours. There is so much information and stops to make. I learned so much through the drive. Such a remarkable experiences

The Visitor Center is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we did not see what they had to offer. We took the auto tour through the park. You travel through the Union lines and then through the Confederate section. There are hundreds of monuments and markers commemorating the fighting units that were involved. Also, markers describing battlefield movements throughout the siege. I would plan to visit the USS Cairo museum. This was a Union ironclad ship that was sunk and recovered. The restored ship is on display aling with many oeriod artifacts found on the site. There is also the National Cemetery in the valley below the museum. Hallowed ground and a must for history buffs.

This was so interesting, wish they kept up with the landscaping a little more as some of the plaques were off in the distance away from the road with knee high grass. Needless to say we didn’t venture out to read those with our little ones but, we still enjoyed our time here viewing the other historical places.

You could feel the land cry out as a scene of fierce battles. The Cairo ship was amazing to behold. Great historical experience.

I love visiting here. It gives a whole new perspective to what it would have been like for these soldiers. The Cairo museum is an awesome stop too and the national cemetery is on the property. Great trip

As you know I am a fan of the National Park Service and all of their sites. I watched the video of about 20 minutes which was very informative. By the time I was ready to do the Drive Tour through the Park, I was told it could take 1.5-3.0 hours. It was an hour before closing so I had to pass.

Must see National park, full of history. Friendly staff at the welcome centre, helpful and informative.

Great visit. Lots of information. Some of the roads in the back on Union Ave were blocked for repairs. The only thing I wondered is why some markers and statues are facing the opposite direction of the road..

It was a pleasant day at Vicksburg. My husband was able to see where his Great Great Great Grandfather fought.

Some roads closed but glad I went. Really makes u think how hard these battle were and if on the hill huge advantage

Employees are friendly, but there's really nothing impressive about the place. Cool history, but not worth the $15/person entry fee. There are some pieces that remain in the home from previous owners, or items found on the property over time, but a good bit is simply "true to the era" of the section of the house it's in. Don't get me wrong, I love old stuff, and history, so I did enjoy looking at things and hearing the stories, but I got bored quickly. I imagine they offer the tour in an attempt to tell the history of the place, otherwise, there wouldn't be much draw. Sad to say, but I wouldn't recommend this place unless it was free or had a lower entry fee; it's just not worth it (IMO).

We had the perfect tour experience! Our guide was knowledgeable, the history was fascinating, and the home was the perfect mix of southern gothic charm and macabre. This is a can’t-miss experience if you are visiting Vicksburg!

Let's start with the good, the house is beautiful and very well accommodated with period pieces . We went for a haunted tour and it looks spooky at night . The tour itself was not good. There were 2 tour guides who contradicted eachother. The stories were poorly told and jumped back and fourth . It could have been so much better.

I went on the haunted tour for 7 PM. Firstly, the house is beautiful inside and out. I’d love to visit during the day to take it all in. As for the tour itself, the actors delivered their stories well! My personal favorite was the last lady who pointed out my PTK shirt 😅. But everyone was interactive with the guests in their own way. Great tour!

This has to be one of the craziest experiences I have ever had! I do believe that ghosts exist but always skeptical if things are legitimate. I have visited many haunted sites as I live in South Louisiana. This experience was like no other! Our tour guide Landon was full of knowledge about the property and the families that lived there. The first interesting thing happened when we entered the bedroom that Mary had passed away in. The light on the side table turned itself off! We then headed into Andrew's room. Landon warned us before we walked in that there is a heavy presence feeling in there. I 100% felt it the second I stepped into the room! I felt as if someone had hung weights on my body. Just a very heavy feeling. Landon proceeded to tell us about Andrew and his history. She mentioned pretty extensively that he is very handsy. She said that she has personally felt his hands on her backside and thighs. She also said that other guests have reported the same. It sounded very interesting but of course you can't help but wonder if people embellish the story just to make it more interesting. I did not feel Andrew's hands on me. We then went down into the kitchen for the final part of the tour. I had my phone in my hand because I am a big photo taker and was snapping lots of shots. The camera was on. I must have snapped a photo by accident. The photo was of the tour guide, my friend, and my legs and feet. When I looked at the photo I was in utter and complete shock! There is what very clearly appears to be a man's arm with veins sticking out and and outstretched hand as if it was trying to grab my leg!!! I had a blue long sleeve shirt on so absolutely was not my arm! There was no one else there but us three girls! I have photos of the whole kitchen area and there is nothing there that this could have been!

It was my first paranormal experience ever, and it was broad daylight! My tour guide, Steve was awesome and so knowledgeable! And a secret hint. Just remember, ravioli maker and homemade egg carton maker! Sorry Steve!

My daughter and I did the candle light tour. She’s 11 and usually not impressed by anything but she enjoyed the stories and acting! They take groups of 10 at a time so it’s not crowded. I did have a few little scares. I smelled a really strong ammonia smell like ammonia mixed with flowers, my daughter couldn’t smell anything. I also felt something like a feather on my arm and hand and had a little rash on my hand while I was there. Yes I could have been sensitive to some kind of plant or something in the environment but hey it’s supposed to be haunted right? It was a good time, the owner and employees obviously care a lot about the place and that’s pretty cool to see. I’d like to go back and do a daytime tour to see more of the house and grounds. My only advice is to wear flat shoes! The walkway and stairs are a little tricky if you’re wearing heels :)

Beautiful presentation and wonderful waiter! The location was gorgeous, yet I wondered why it was Soo empty.. I found out when I took a bite of my food. Nothing was seasoned properly, if at all. It was a serious let down. Every bite was like a mouthful of nothingness. The chicken fried steak was burnt and dry and the cranberry juice was flat also. The female waitress storming thru the restaurant, complaining about how mad she was over her break, was entertaining tho. Lol

Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend. Home style southern cooking. Very juicy fried chicken with a crispy and flavourful skin. Fried shrimp dinner was also great. Very friendly service. The dessert section is massive and is made by a neighbour- they are so immaculate we thought they were shop bought! Very friendly service. Would recommend to anyone staying or passing through.

Loved my salmon salad. Very yummy. My husband's fried chicken and mashed potatoes looked delicious, but chicken was dry and both lacked flavor. Service was wonderful. We enjoyed the historic feel of the restaurant.

We love going to this quaint and wonderful Restaurant. Of course we started our lunch with fried green tomatoes and they were excellent! Then, I had the oyster po-boy sandwich and my husband had fried chicken, green beans, black eyed peas and banana pudding. Everything was delicious! We came back for dinner and I had Redfish Almondine and my husband had Salmon and Grits. Our dinner was amazing! Our waitress was so nice and helpful! She even showed us the peach habenero jelly so we can try to order us some, so good!

Diverse menu to satisfy most. My wife and I had the fried chicken and veges. Incredible. The staff is helpful and quite friendly. If we're in the area again, this is a definite stop.

We went to Walnut Hills after seeing it on the Downtown walking tour. Everything was amazing! I had the sausage with red beans and rice, and cabbage. The wife had the grilled chicken with coleslaw and carrots. I also had a bowl of seafood gumbo. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend dining here!

Museum, gift shop, and restrooms inside. Very respectful, welcoming staff. I liked that their staff took great care in bringing down the American flag during the start of a heavy storm to protect it. Lots of parking. National cemetery across the parking lot overlooking the Mississippi River. Very peaceful surroundings. Handful of picnic areas for use.

I’ve been here several times on road trips. I enjoyed it so much I brought my teen boys to see it this time. They were very interested and liked they could actually walk out on the boat and see the cannons, etc. A museum is attached and informative. The Beautiful grounds are good for birding, also. I entered with my National Park Pass.

This was amazing we loved all the information and visiting. The girl was very helpful and friendly at the museum. The park was so very interesting but didn’t get to see everything. It is must see if you love history

Great museum with the actual ironclad ship that was sunk during the battle of Vicksburg and raised over 100 years later. Lots of items recovered from the ship in the museum. Nice gift shop.

Fabulous restored Union gunboat and on display of a Union boat built in St Louie and sailed to Vicksburg to join the battle against the commies (Oops, Confederates), sunk in the Yazoo River by a possible Confederate mine. Discoverd and dug out of the river in 1959

I can't help to be amazed when I come across exhibits like this. It's not necessarily the exhibit itself, but as I stand and contemplate what type of technology was available, and then try to understand how they put things like this together, it just amazes me. American history can sometimes be thought of as dull, but I think the people who believe that lack the ability to imagine a time different than they live in. What the shipwrights had to do to create this vessel, and then consider the soldiers that served on it and the accommodations they put up with to defend our country this is just incredible. Very few today could've dealt with this type of environment. Take a few moments and close your eyes and imagine the life of a soldier on an iron side boat. This exhibit is well laid out, but it is what you make of it. Well worth the experience.

What a great museum! There are a lot of displays and videos about the impact of the Mississippi River and the impacts on the topography of all the areas it flows through. I really found the interactive portions to help put it into perspective and show how things change and how man can help lessen the impacts of environmental factors. The gentleman working was very friendly. Free admission and there is free parking nearby.

I loved this museum and the ship. It seemed as if several of their audio-visual elements were down like the theater and several of the kiosks, but it is a very thorough and detailed history of the river and Vicksburg and the Army Corps of Engineers. I learned a lot I didn't know and it will give you a greater appreciation for the Corps of Engineers.

We had never heard of this place, even being from Mississippi. Took a road trip after my wife saw it online. The museum itself is somewhat interesting, but the tugboat named Motor Vessel Mississippi  IV, attached to the museum was very cool. Basically fully maintained since 1961. It’s a large tugboat that the US Army Corp if Engineers used. Very cool. Admission $3.50.

A nice little afternoon stop on a roadtrip. I picked it out for my dad, who I was traveling with, despite not having any particular interest myself, but I wound up reading every display and really enjoying the history lesson. And of course, I love a good old boat, so that part was excellent! On a Saturday afternoon there was almost no one there, so don't worry about crowds. Parking is street from what I could find, but wasn't an issue.

It is pretty cool to check out if you haven't been on a working boat and this is coming from a person who works on tugs and pushboats. I worked on the red pushboat and company United Tugs as deckhand from the start of towing / tailing the riverboat down south to Hudson Drydock in Morgan City, La.. Then taken barge and boat back up through the Achafalaya river; having to cut the mast off the top of the wheelhouse to fit under the overpass during low tide and still was able to touch the bridge while passing under. That was me climbing the later with the life vest and dressed in black. It was a wonderful experience that I'll never forget and just as exciting visiting it 10 years after as a museum. I was so young then and the Vicksburg people were so nice and very friendly and such a beautiful place. The only problem was after listening to some music that afternoon having a couple this flat swamp land boy was worried about walking down dat hill to get back to da boat. Hahahaha.

Nice museum with quite a few informational displays. It is clean and you can tour the large rowboat on display. Admission is free and they have restroom facilities. It is located close to the river in historic downtown.

A fun little gem! We came for dinner as a party of 4 and were able to sit in the front room that overlooks the water. Our waitress was new but she did fine. She did have to go back to the bar/kitchen to answer a few of our questions but she did well. The biscuits truly were great and we enjoyed our fried catfish. The blackened shrimp wrap was tasty as well. For the wraps there are a lot of options for proteins and sauces. Even the simple side salad was nice, it tasted fresh. Overall we had a very good experience and would recommend this place!

The atmosphere is wonderful and you can see the water upstairs. The food was good with handmade burgers and fries. The wait staff was the low point. Slow service, forgot to check back, argued with our order, I guess the restaurant only had 1 bottle of ketchup that had to be moved around tables constantly. Hopefully it wasn’t a regular thing.

It was ok. The biscuits are good but my hot lunch plate food was cold. Disappointing server. She was flustered and didn't help. Sent back food to reheat and it came back same temp. However, the hamburger steak was delish.

ALWAYS.... We eat at Rustys when in Vicksburg. So we wanted to try somewhere different while passing through Vickburg...WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED! The establishment is right in the historical district, up the road from the Yazoo River. The atmosphere was great. Old former brick biscuit bakery. Place looks like a old school bar. Staff was extremely warm and welcoming. Very friendly. Menu is priced good. Not fast food prices but not stupid expensive, super affordable. Lot of broad choices but you MUST get the hamburger steak!! I love hamburger steak and this is the BEST EVER. we also had the catfish, it was good. Service was good. Waitress was personable and informative. They are very proud of there hometown. The biscuits are great. Service was quick. Clean place. STRONLY RECOMMEND.

The Red beans and rice and chicken gumbo are super. The burgers 🍔 are hand made and seasoned to perfection. The local brews and the atmosphere make this a destination for sure. Just make sure you tell your server what you want and she’ll get it for you.

Best catfish I have ever had and a decent view of the river outside. I would definitely recommend this place to others passing through. Just a short walk from a series of murals down by the river.

looking for a lunch spot as we wandered through old town Vicksburg and found this place. I’ll never pass up a place with biscuit in the name if I can help it. Especially in the south. Brick and wood interior with spaces that feel a bit like eating in someone’s home. Some areas have a view of the Mississippi River. Staff seemed a bit surly and over worked with some very apparent newbies taking orders. Wide ranging pub style menu-including a fried bologna sandwich! -with some more substantial plates for the dinner hour. Seems to be well regarded for their catfish. And the biscuits of course. These do not, it appears, come complimentary with any meal. They are ordered ala-carte. Available as 4 or 2 to an order. We chose to go with two as we had been hitting the carbs pretty hard over the last couple of days. You have a choice of half a dozen spreads to accompany these so we chose honey plus the included butter. The biscuits were not of the oversized “cats head” variety but just the right size to enjoy with a meal and show off the skill of the baker. They were delicious, light and flaky. Definitely could have enjoyed a few more of these. Wife ordered a BLT on white with slaw. And I jumped at the chance to experience the fried bolo sandwich, on wheat with sweet potato fries. She pronounced her sandwich as “fine” but noted the bacon had an overabundance of fat. Her slaw was as expected. She chose not to finish the sandwich. My meal disappointed. The sweet potato fries were just ok, not served very hot. The sandwich was a letdown. The meat was also not very hot or very well “fried”. Just a cursory slap on the flat top to try and caramelize the outside with no real attempt to heat thoroughly. Needed more time. And not very flavorful. A bit of my wife’s bacon added some flavor. Maybe some cheese would have also. Disappointing. Chose to skip dessert and move on. If you like biscuits give them a try. Just be careful what you order to go with them.

Fantastic establishment. After reading some reviews talking about poor service I expected the service to be lacklustre. Madison proved the reviews to be wrong. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the beers. The food was exceptional and the steaks were had we cooked just as we ordered, something that is very rare back home. I cannot fault this place. Great food, fantastic beer, amazing staff. Faultless Wish we had establishment like this back in the UK. PS Madison is a great asset to your company

A Must-Visit for Beer Lovers and Foodies! We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Their selection of beers brewed on-site is fantastic—there’s something for everyone. Every sip was fresh and flavorful. For dinner, we ordered the Irish pork stew, and it was absolutely incredible—tender, savory, and packed with delicious, hearty flavors. It truly felt like comfort food done right. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great beer, delicious food, and top-notch service.

Great food and really good beer! I had the roasted pork collar, and it was delicious. Crispy bits but still melt in your mouth tender. My colleague had the party melt and said it was great as well. I had the bayou shake beer, which was amazing. I was hesitant because sours/milkshake style aren't usually what I like, but it is worth a try!

Always a great spot to hang and have a couple delicious and fresh beers. IPAs, sours and lagers hit the spot. The pizza is best in class and the shrimp sopa fideo is a super fun little ramen adjacent bowl of flavors. Free WiFi is a boon! Clean, airy and fun environment as well.

Stopped here with the family passing through for our vacation and we were delighted by the flights of beer and delicious pizza. Highly recommend the Mojo Pork Shoulder. The pizzas were perfect to share among 2 people with lots of small plate options (the brussel sprouts were dreamy). Interesting and wide beer selection. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with rooftop seating available as an option.

The host was friendly, suggested the upstairs, and when I declined, seated me downstairs. The beer list covers all bases except non-alcoholic — disappointing. The Mi Vida is good. I ordered the Agnolotti. Forty minutes later, still nothing. Meanwhile, the only others eating downstairs at the time, a couple who arrived after me, were nearly finished eating. Another employee came by to check in, and when I mentioned my missing meal, she went to investigate. Moments later she reappeared with my food, saying it was “just coming out of the kitchen.” Sure it was. Anyone else’s BS meter going off at that timing? The Agnolotti and the Mi Vida were both good, I’ll give them that. Then the bill comes. I figure the tip and leave two twenties. Sophia H, my original server, returns with change — all paper bills. No 40¢. It’s not about the amount. It’s that it’s my money, and she kept it without a word. They might think no one notices, but that kind of thing says plenty about them, and the restaurant.

So, so yummy! I really appreciated the gluten free options!! Lovely spot and the brunch menu was top notch. We were in town for the day and will definitely make a stop here again next time we are coming through Vicksburg.

Had a taste for fried chicken + this hit the spot! Timed the buffet perfectly. It got a bit noisy due to the popularity of the food. A tight filled dining experience but the food was very good.

I picked the food up. It was 7 o’clock. They didn’t have what I wanted and it felt like they cook it at lunch. I had to throw it all away. I only got a few bites. Very disappointed😕

Stopped in while traveling home to Texas. It was really good. Clean. Great attitude from the employees. Food was done pretty fast, but still fresh! Only thing was that the women's bathroom lock was broke, but I did tell someone about it.

Nice little lunch here. We tried various hot dogs with various toppings as combos with chips and a drink. All of which were good. We got the boudain on a bun. We also got the red beans and rice. (Which was great, FYI it has some meat in it). One disappointing order was the chicken sandwich without the bun, they didn’t have any lettuce and the chicken was a little tough. But overall we had a nice experience here and the prices are more than reasonable. We would recommend this place if you are looking for a no frills quick meal.

This little hole in the wall place doesn't look like much from the outside. However, the service is fantastic. The food is good and very cheaply priced. It is after all just hamburgers not dogs. Would definitely recommend for somebody looking for that type of food at a great price.

A fun place for a cheap lunch. While in Vicksburg I ate lunch here a couple times a week. The owner was always very friendly. I ate about everything on the menu. I loved the chili dogs, and the Frito pie. I tell all my friends about the hot dog man and would love to open an establishment as fine as this one.

Only stayed long enough to pick up a to go order but super friendly people and really cool atmosphere. Will definitely be ordering again while I'm in town.

No frills hot dog place - loved the decor. The chili is good and goes nicely with the hotdog. My wife had the frito chili pie and liked it. The prices are reasonable for the type and amount of food. The owners were very nice.

A nice visitors center with a great view of the Mississippi River and the bridges crossing here. At the time of my visit it was clean with clean restrooms and a place to walk your leashed pet. There were a few cars here and I took the time to walk around a bit. Unfortunately some of the places were closed to the public like the observation deck and nearby Navy Circle.

I always enjoy stopping at this spot during my travels—it offers stunning views of the Mississippi River and the iconic bridges that cross it. The visitor center’s unique architecture has always caught my eye, though during this visit I learned that it's slated for demolition to make way for a more modern facility. While I appreciate the vision for the future, I’ll miss the classic colonnade design that gave the structure its charm. This was my first time going inside, and although it’s a beautiful space, it did carry a somber vibe of funeral home that made the planned update feel justified. I’m genuinely curious to see how the new structure will honor the location’s character while bringing a fresh experience.

The view is beautiful off the back of the property! There are 2 bridges going over the Mississippi River and the property is well maintained! The outside access restrooms are not very well kept. The inside access restrooms are much better! They have a little pet area and a little wooden foot bridge you can walk along. They have a couple vending machines on the opposite side of the building which is great but neither of them would take cash and the card reader was down on both. Overall it was still a nice place to stop and it was worth the photo op!!

This is a beautiful stop to stretch your legs but not the cleanest bathrooms by any means. There’s plenty of spots to relax and just look at the beautiful bridges and guides as per usual for a welcome center. The foot bridge is open randomly but there is a website you can check. It was closed to public today so I couldn’t tell you about it. I have came to this rest area multiple times and it has always been closed. Overall nice area to stop. But does loose a star for the poor bathroom experience. At least the toilets were cleanish.

I have been here both in the day time and night. Beautiful building, great for a photo and getting info about the local area. The walk a around the building is perfect for taking photos of the bridge.

UN-Welcome Center! Mississippi doesn't care about human safety! I had driven 11 hours and it was 9pm, hard rain making it dangerous to continue driving on I-20. Cars and trucks going slow with flashers on, to explain how hard it was raining. I stopped at the welcome center for safety. Yes it was closed, which was fine. I just needed some sleep and off the road pulling my camper. Not another car in the parking lot (also fine). Rain eased up so I walked my dogs, got them in the camper,, dried them, fed them, changed into dry clothes and was going to sleep till morning. Security guy knocked on camper door. I checked to say hello and he said I couldn't stay there. "2 hr max parking", he said. I explained I was tired and couldn't safely drive in the rain. "Sorry, you have to leave. 2 hr max parking" . Not a sole in the parking lot but me. It was fine to drive sleepy in unsafe weather, kill myself or others, but I can't park in the 'WELCOME' Center in Mississippi! No wonder Mississippi ranks 50th in any ranking or rating in the country! They're #1 in Rude Welcome Centers!

A Fantastic Breakfast Spot with Amazing Food & Southern Charm! We arrived around 10:30 AM and had one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had! We ordered a BLT with fried green tomato and avocado on rye, a side of fried green tomatoes, and the classic combo of eggs, stone-ground grits, bacon, and a biscuit. Every bite was off-the-wall good—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The service was just as impressive. The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and prompt, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights of this place is the vegetable stand with a great selection of fresh, high-quality produce. They also offer some fantastic canned and homemade products that are worth checking out. If you’re looking for a delicious meal with great service and a bit of local charm, this spot is a must-visit. This place is 5 + star across the board! My husband and I LOVE this place. The staff is amazing. They are so friendly, and work so hard. We enjoyed every time we stopped by. The place offers a variety of delicious food options, that are made to order, along with fresh smoothies that are amazing, desserts, and drinks (the fresh made lemonade is so good). You will be impressed by all they offer at this small local roadside cafe. I have stomach issues, and the fresh fruit smoothies were a saving grace for me during our time in Vicksburg. We love this place so much, we went daily while in town, and agreed it will be our go to stopping place when traveling through the area. As I said, we had several meals, and nothing was short of excellent. Aside from all that, they sell fresh fruit, veggies, plants, homemade jam, homemade pickles, honey, their own sauce that will go on anything, breads, bread crumbs, coffee by the bag; just all sorts of things. The atmosphere is so relaxed, and welcoming. We honestly love it here. Great for any time of day, and is the PERFECT road side stop while traveling. They have seating in the main area (see pics), as well as outdoor seating scattered around. This wasn't our first time here, and we were so impressed that it is still as wonderful as our first visit. Without hesitation, add this place to your trip if you're ever passing through or visiting Vicksburg. If we lived closer, we'd be there regularly.

Amazing! What a cool place to enjoy a meal or snack. Wish I had The Tomato Place in my hometown. The nicest staff and coolest vibe. If I am anywhere near Vicksburg in the future, I will make time for another meal, cool views and southern hospitality.

My wife found this place online. It looked like a quaint little produce store / hip restaurant. Only about 10 tables, which was fine. Produce selection was ok. Wonderful looking tomatoes! The look and vibe was cool. Huge menu, but the food was a big letdown. Burger was dry, overcooked with no flavor on what seemed to be a toasted, flat 2 day old bun. Located in the side of a highway, literally. Overgrown yard. This place has potential, but needs some tender loving care.

The staff here is amazing! Miss Carolyn and Miss Anna were so friendly, generous, and helpful. Hands down, the best tomato sandwich I've ever had. Mac and cheese, cheesy grits, and fried okra were perfect. Not just good. Perfect. We love this place and make it a point to stop every time we're anywhere near Vicksburg.

The Tomato Place is a true hole-in-the-wall gem! Packed with authentic, delicious Southern flavor in every bite. The BLT and cracklings are the favorites for sure—simple, fresh, and absolutely mouthwatering. If you’re in Vicksburg, this place is a must. Full of charm, flavor, and local character!

We stopped by on our way back to Dallas and it was such a fantastic stop! The fruit and vegetable selection is great (I’ve never seen produce so big!) & there are a lot of delicious food and drink options to choose from. We got a fried turkey leg, fried green tomatoes, corn, and some fruit smoothies. We left with a full stomach & happy heart - can’t wait to come back!

Absolute dive. The big stores don't even open their doors to the mall anymore. The mall is so badly run down. Lights are even dimmed down to save energy for them. However Silver lining. There's a Hobby lobby there which is very nice

Pitiful. There was only about 5 stores and a bowling alley open inside. Two stores are only accessible from exterior doorways. All others were abandoned, with torn up flooring or shelves pulled off the walls. A/C is minimal.

This mall doesn’t have a lot of stores in it, the concrete floor is gross. However the neon and the some of the aesthetics are nice.

Many stores have moved out of this shopping mall. There are still a few great retail stores there, like Dillard’s and Belks, that I still shop in.

I only went to Belk from the outside door Belk was fine.

Love Dillard's. Everything is a reasonable price.

I like the shoe store and everything else

My parents live 25 minutes East on Route 61. When given the opportunity to run errands for myself, it's comforting to know the stores I frequent back home in PA are here. It's not as isolated or disconnected as most people would think.

T J Maxx is in this Area!! This is a Store, I particularly, love to shop in. Very Reasonable Prices, for items that You normally, would purchase in Stores like Dillards, Belks, JC Penney’s, and stores of this quality.

This mall is taking up so much space and barely has anything in it. It's sad. Another owner from out of state should buy it and put stores in it that would interest the citizens of Vicksburg. It bring more jobs for the young people and just generate revenue period.

This is my #1 store to visit when I am in Vicksburg. I bought gifts for a baby shower, a small teal colored skillet and a teal colored brownie pan. Both were cute and manageable. Lots of eye-catching items.

There are some good places to shop, and also some good restaurants to dine at. It's a busy parking lot, so take extra caution to make sure someone is not walking behind you or in front of you, or another car pulling in or out. Overall, there's a lot of shopping packed into a small shopping area. However, you won't be disappointed because you are able to get in and get out with ease. Then you can go home with the items you purchased or feeling the saiety from a delicious meal!

Although there weren't a lot of stores in mall the TJ Maxx , Dillard's Clearance and Hobby Lobby were good to pick up a few nice items!

A Must-Visit for Beer Lovers and Foodies! We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Their selection of beers brewed on-site is fantastic—there’s something for everyone. Every sip was fresh and flavorful. For dinner, we ordered the Irish pork stew, and it was absolutely incredible—tender, savory, and packed with delicious, hearty flavors. It truly felt like comfort food done right. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great beer, delicious food, and top-notch service.

Fantastic establishment. After reading some reviews talking about poor service I expected the service to be lacklustre. Madison proved the reviews to be wrong. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the beers. The food was exceptional and the steaks were had we cooked just as we ordered, something that is very rare back home. I cannot fault this place. Great food, fantastic beer, amazing staff. Faultless Wish we had establishment like this back in the UK. PS Madison is a great asset to your company

This was our third visit here and to be perfectly honest I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to leave a review. We live out of state and like to visit at least once per year while visiting our son in college. The service is always great & so is the food! Their appetizers are delicious, especially their homemade fries & fried pickles!! The atmosphere is fantastic. They even have a rooftop! We always choose to stay inside though. The waitress even recognized us and knew who we were! That speaks volumes about their service!

Great food and really good beer! I had the roasted pork collar, and it was delicious. Crispy bits but still melt in your mouth tender. My colleague had the party melt and said it was great as well. I had the bayou shake beer, which was amazing. I was hesitant because sours/milkshake style aren't usually what I like, but it is worth a try!

Stopped here with the family passing through for our vacation and we were delighted by the flights of beer and delicious pizza. Highly recommend the Mojo Pork Shoulder. The pizzas were perfect to share among 2 people with lots of small plate options (the brussel sprouts were dreamy). Interesting and wide beer selection. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with rooftop seating available as an option.

Always a great spot to hang and have a couple delicious and fresh beers. IPAs, sours and lagers hit the spot. The pizza is best in class and the shrimp sopa fideo is a super fun little ramen adjacent bowl of flavors. Free WiFi is a boon! Clean, airy and fun environment as well.

So, so yummy! I really appreciated the gluten free options!! Lovely spot and the brunch menu was top notch. We were in town for the day and will definitely make a stop here again next time we are coming through Vicksburg.

My wife and I were visiting and told the food and atmosphere was worth going to the roof top. In was very busy, but every staff member took their time out to greet us, as we waited for a table. I had the filet smothered in crayfish tails/sauce, blackened green beans, garlic smashed potatoes, and grilled Cajun shrimp. When I say, "The steak was a top 5 best steak I've ever had", I really do mean it! It was flavorful, melt in your mouth tender, and the crayfish sauce was divine. All sides were delicious as well. However, the shrimp was slightly overcooked (dry). I didn't mind one bit because my taste buds were reaping the benefits of the delectable steak. My wife really enjoyed the large Caesar salad w/ grilled chicken. Nick (our waiter), was great and took care of us throughout the evening. He even talked me into giving the Chef special a try.....thanks Nick! All-In-All, we were very impressed and enjoyed the breathtaking view of Vicksburg and the sun setting over the mighty Mississippi. We will come back!!

Absolutely loved it, a shout-out to Christine, our waitress. You can't beat the view and alone worth the stop, but the food was delicious and appropriate for the sports bar/grill it is. Besides a great menu with lots of choice, they will basically fix anything you want, any way you want, as long as they have the ingredients. It doesn't get any better than that no matter where you go. The place has tons of seating and various views over the city and river, and very family friendly. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love love love that I decided to bring my husband here for brunch. The food 10/10 I do recommend. My server was very friendly she helped me find a nice drink that i definitely enjoyed.i had the blacken catfish with parmesan grits and a kool-Aid to drink. The VIEW was a vibe we enjoyed the drinks as well. Most definitely will be back!!!

We stopped by for a few drinks before looking around downtown. Very cool restaurant with an amazing view. Would have been nicer but our server was rude, I guess because we were just having a few drinks in his section... Not sure. Anyways take note as they charged gratuity since we were only drinking at a table. Food looked good from what I saw, my old fashion was ok.

Anytime you're traveling through Vicksburg, this is a must visit restaurant. Keep in mind they're not open on Mondays. The free appetizers of garlic, salted pretzels and honey mustard really sets the mood for a beautiful sunset and a wonderful meal. The parmesan grits are amazing! Don't forget they're deadly double chocolate bread pudding is a must-have as well.

Great service, delicious food, amazing views. Chris was a very knowledgeable friendly server, providing excellent service. The food was perfect, and arrived quickly. It was nice to sit and enjoy the views of the city from above and catch up with family. Our first visit, but we will return soon.

Beautiful and interesting murals. I like that they're right on the Mississippi River. Just wish that you didn't have to walk up and down a hill to get to them from the main street.

A great series of panels painted along the Mississippi River flood wall detailing life in and around Vicksburg over the years. It is a touristy area as well as local frolicking in the nearby water park and folks having picnics on the weekend while enjoying the nice weather.

This is a great little walk. We took the time to read all of the information with the murals, and the history included is varied and fascinating. One tip: We went in the morning, because we didn't want to go during the hottest part of the day. However, we realized from the sun position, that we probably would have been in the shade had we gone in late afternoon. 🤷‍♀️

I loved it you get highlights of both Mississippi and Vicksburg

The murals were very nicely done. They are across the street from a little city park with a splash pad. It had a few picnic tables and some shade. It was an older park that needed some updates. The murals, however blocked the view of the river. It was a boat entrance. It would have been really nice to be able to see the river from the park.

Milano’s Italian Grill located in Vicksburg, Mississippi is a very good restaurant. We were traveling through this area and we placed an order to be delivered. We ordered a Marietta pizza, lasagna and we ordered three pasta lasagna. It came with a chunk (a lot) of very tasty bread. We really enjoyed the meal. I would order the lasagna again.

If you’re in Vicksburg, or come from Argentina or Italy, you need to eat here. This is by far, the best (and not overpriced) pasta I had in the United States. The only one it reminded me of my mom’s and grandmother pasta. They have true Italian pasta and also some classic American options as well. And for dessert they have cannoli, cheesecake, tiramisu AND ESPRESSO coffee! Just in like it’s supposed to be. Perfect. Ambiance is great. Not overdone. And service was the same. Definitely a new favorite for me and my wife.

I walked down from our Airbnb to grab dinner with my little as I got excited to try this place based on reviews. Firstly, the complimentary bread was fresh and very warm. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I believe they use the same dough for their pizzas and Strombolis. We ordered fried calamari, pizza, and eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti on the side. Our server warned us that their kitchen is busy tonight, which I was okay with, seeing that every table was filled tonight. When our server delivered the pizza and eggplant parm, she asked what else we needed. I asked her what happened to the calamari and she was very apologetic as she had forgotten to put it in. She asked if I still wanted it or just take it off the bill. I asked her the latter. It was a little disappointing that I didn’t get to try it because I love calamari when done right. Only a handful of Italian restaurants have ever gotten it right so I was hoping I would be able to try theirs. Even so, I had no ill-feelings towards this mishap. I also had to ask our server for some napkins as there were none provided. The table next to us had to do the same later in the evening. Pizza was good. It had that nice crisp and chewy crust. It wasn’t as good as I had hoped. Eggplant parm was okay as well. I couldn’t discern the crispness from the breading as described in their menu. The side spaghetti was a little mushy. I like my pasta al dente. This one was beyond the suggested maximum cook time. Our server comped the spaghetti and offered free dessert since she forgot to put in the order for the calamari. I didn’t even asked. This alone would want to make me come back the next time I’m in town.

I've eaten twice to this point at Milano's. The service was good both times, the atmosphere is good and the food is also really good. The waits can get kind of long during lunch time but nothing that isn't tolerable. Owner has always been very attentive to his customers and the table staff are very friendly (Vickie is amazing). I would definitely recommend that everyone give them a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

A new local restaurant that I was super excited to try, who doesn't love Italian food! Walked in & staff were friendly upon arrival! The 1st thing I noticed was that it was very warm inside. The waitress said a/c was not working. I ordered fried cheese ravioli as an appetizer & they came out without much flavor, and I could tell that the grease was burnt that they were cooked in. The menu was limited on different pasta you could order, as spaghetti was the main one used throughout all of their pasta dishes except manicotti & 1 other. I ordered Salmon Picatta & you will see in the video that it was very watery and had absolutely ZERO flavor. I immediately asked for a different dish, so the manager had to come talk to me. As the manager with short blond hair arrived to my table she asked what was wrong with it but didnt listen to me give her the feedback, she seemed quite irritated and said she would only offer me something of comparable price & similar meal. Long story short, they didn't want to waste that piece of salmon on my picatta, so I had to order the only other salmon meal, which ended up being 10x better anyway! Which was my piece of salmon on a bed of sautéed veggies! I'm not sure why I couldn't order what I wanted if I wanted something different. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Another party of 4 set next to me and ordered wine, but they were disappointed because only Woodbridge wine was offered. The drink menu is very limited as well. You would think that a large wine selection would be available in an Italian restaurant. I had high hopes for this place, as I had been waiting in anticipation to try it. Huge letdown with the food taste & selection and drink selections.

this place is okay, I would cut it some slack because it's new. everyone who works there seems really nice, and who I believe is the owner was super polite and kept making sure we enjoyed everything. the bread they bring to the table was pretty good. we also got an appetizer, which was the mozzarella caprese. then my husband had the stuffed eggplant and i had Chicken Alfredo. another person at our table had the tortellini and it was very good! the food was very filling. the tiramisu was okay, it was pretty light. overall it was pretty good. we did have to constantly ask for more napkins, as the server would only bring us 3 at a time when we would ask..

Overall pleased! Pictured is the Milano's Favorite Chicken and Stuffed Eggplant. Temperature note: I really dislike super cold air conditioning so I was happy, but for those who feel warm easily, be forwarned that, at least when I went, the air really wasn't doing its thing.

For Vicksburg this is one of the best places to eat lunch. 4-stars compared to other cities, but 5-stars here. EZ access off I-20 at Exit 1C - Halls Ferry Road, go South to first traffic light. Turn right, go around the curve, in shopping center across from Kroger grocery store. One of few sit down restaurants here that are open past 2pm for lunch. Today 16 April 2025, I had the Hibachi Steak (tender sirloin chunks, zuchini, broccoli, carrot, and onion) with fried rice (steamed available), miso soup, and iced tea for $15.94. All was quite good. Have had their Udon noodles in the past, which are also good.

Placed a "to go" order. They prepared and packaged the meal quickly. The food was amazing. Would recommend to anybody looking for good sushi!

Ordered veggie udon noodles. Perfect portion for $10.99. Served hot and it was ready in 10 minutes. Kind person taking my order and knowledgeable about how long it would take and remembered me and gave me the correct order when I came back to get my order. Delicious is an understatement. I'm vegetarian and eat pretty healthy. This wasn't too oily. This is a great option for on the road to be a little more healthy. You could even call in your order and it would be faster than fast food! Yummy, thank you!

I’m confused over all the food reviews because I Wasted $60 on family’s dinner. Food looked horrible, and tasted worst. Rice was hard, no flavor and no veg in the fried rice. Basically a plate of brown rice with chicken tossed on top. The cheese in the wontons poured out like water when ripped open or bit into. Almost 24hrs later and still Have an upset stomach, NEVER AGAIN

We are passing thru to TX and decided to take an Uber here because we read the reviews. The food was great. Great portions and we are leaving absolutely stuffed!! I would recommend this to anyone passing thru. We ordered 6 meals, 6 drinks and 1 roll. It was $120 for all us.

The customer service was terrible. My steak was not done and I ask to get it cooked a little longer and she ignored me. I will not be coming back and advise anyone not to come here!

Always excellent!!! I usually have the salmon & shrimp hibachi with rice and vegetables, with generous amounts of yum yum sauce, along with clear soup. And I usually have the Philly roll, which is sushi with avocado, cream cheese and salmon, with yum yum sauce as well. Friendly staff!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

Owned for about 30 years, this is a wonderful lunch restaurant! Lunch buffet of chicken, catfish, or spaghetti, sides, plus tea or lemonade. Absolutely wonderful. Come on down and enjoy!

waitress had a horrible attitude she had a table of friends there she was sitting and having drinks with they were her only concern no matter what you ordered or told her she bring out what she wanted they were out of things and didn’t bring them yet still tried to change for the things you didn’t receive extremely hot

Love the food... great southern style cooking. Had the southern fried pork chop with fries.... delish! Good is always fresh and hot.

Satisfied with the location, view, hotel, and restaurant service. After I settled at the hotel, I decided to walk over to the Waffle House. At the restaurant, the host/server was friendly and answered a few questions about the menu. So I decided on their cheeseburger deluxe with a side of hashbrowns. 'Oh my'... I ate in less than 5 minutes. My meal was delicious, and I went straight into a food coma. Later that day, I ended ordering another burger without a side, which is the one in the picture.

Great service. Not many people there but there was a constant conversation going on with everyone there...refreshing to see. Ordered two eggs overeasy, hashbrowns, toast, and side of bacon. This is 10.75 when ordered the way I did, there is also a separate menu item for exactly what I ordered listed for 11.75. Save the dollar and add it to the tip.

This is the best Waffle House I've been to. Employees were fun to watch while working together, food was great and so was our waitress Erica.

Early morning visit. Not a great experience. I could go into details about the visit but let’s just say the place was not clean and our food was marginally edible. The restaurant was cold I paid, left my food and walked out to warm up.

Manager was fantastic! All employees were s.iling and happy and our food was great!

Food was good even though the waitress forgot my waffle & burned it. She did make another one. The counter was very dirty this was at 6:00 am I was the only one there. The whole crew was huddled up talking about next week’s schedule. Also got sprayed with water that was a accident & waitress did apologize.

It's been several years since I visited Waffle House mainly because I cook my own breakfast. On a road trip I decided to stop at the Vicksburg, Miss. Location. The food and service were great! I'm glad I stopped.
