Vicksburg National Military Park is a significant site from the American Civil War, offering visitors a chance to explore battlefields, monuments, and the preserved Siege of Vicksburg location. The park also features the U.S.S. Cairo museum and various exhibits related to this pivotal period in history. In addition to its historical importance, Vicksburg boasts a lively arts scene with local galleries and theaters showcasing regional talents.
Well laid out to explore the park. The free audio tour was great. You can download the national parks app ahead of time but they also have a link on the map provided. If you can go on a day that the visitors center is open to see the display to the right when you enter. It takes you through the battle day by day. The 20 minute welcome video is good too but I really appreciated the simple layout and information from the display. It can get very windy

Beautifully done and sobering. Must visit for anyone interested in history. Be sure to watch the video in Visitor's Center and the mini-ones in the display room. The USS Cairo museum is very well done as well and worth the stop. The NPS has an audio tour on their app. It is only ok, but better than nothing.
LeAnne F — Google review
I absolutely recommend the visit here to anyone. The battlefield has some markers scattered through the battlefield, like many others I have visited. It is so different here from many other battlefields, because of the terrain. Many are flatter, but this battlefield is very hilly from the trenches. I wish that the visitor center was bigger, I feel that it is too small for a battle of this importance, many other battlefields have big visitor centers with museums. I also wish that the visitor center was open everyday, this is due to changes affecting all NPS Units, it is very sad to see. My last wish is that the battlefield should be cleared like it was during the battle. Many areas have markers, but you can't see the areas, because of all of the trees and vegetation. It wasn't like this during the battle. The USS Cairo museum was great, along with the national cemetery next to it. If your nearby and can take a day trip, I would absolutely recommend it.

Going to Vicksburg I didn’t know what to expect. I was met with friendly people as well as a wealth of knowledge and history. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay and explore this park as much or as in depth as I would have liked but what we saw was great. We watched the video in the visitors center first then went on the drive. I appreciated that everything was color coded…made it easy to know what was what. The Illinois monument was incredible. I would definitely visit this again and spend more time here if we drive through this area again.
Megan L — Google review
I visited on a 92 degree summer day. I was able to see most of the battlefield from the car but there are several critical areas from the battle and statues that you should get out and see. The movie at the visitors center gives you a good overview.
Mark J — Google review
What an amazing experience this was. I was amazed at how much information was along the drive. Give yourself several hours. There is so much information and stops to make. I learned so much through the drive. Such a remarkable experiences
Kristina S — Google review
The Visitor Center is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we did not see what they had to offer. We took the auto tour through the park. You travel through the Union lines and then through the Confederate section. There are hundreds of monuments and markers commemorating the fighting units that were involved. Also, markers describing battlefield movements throughout the siege. I would plan to visit the USS Cairo museum. This was a Union ironclad ship that was sunk and recovered. The restored ship is on display aling with many oeriod artifacts found on the site. There is also the National Cemetery in the valley below the museum. Hallowed ground and a must for history buffs.
Steve K — Google review
This was so interesting, wish they kept up with the landscaping a little more as some of the plaques were off in the distance away from the road with knee high grass. Needless to say we didn’t venture out to read those with our little ones but, we still enjoyed our time here viewing the other historical places.

The Old Court House Museum, housed in an 1859 courthouse, is a historic attraction showcasing antebellum and Civil War artifacts. The museum holds significance as the site where Union soldiers replaced the Confederate flag with the Union flag in 1863. This grand antebellum structure served as a symbol of Confederate resistance during the Siege of Vicksburg and features imposing ionic columns and historic displays reflecting the town's Confederate past.
The Old Court House Museum is not only a beautiful building it is a treasure trove of antebellum artifacts, clothing, weapons and so much more. The second floor displays a full court room and a room dedicated to Jefferson Davis’ life in the area. One of the best museums I have seen anywhere.
Louis E — Google review
This was not our first visit, but it's been several years since we were last here. There were many new additions, and a little rearranging since our previous trip. So many things to see. I'm grateful for those who preserve history like this. The museum is a former court house, two story (handicap lift available to get you upstairs if needed), and slap full of amazing, well organized and maintained pieces of history. Entry fee is reasonable, I believe we paid $10/person, but it's less for seniors and children. Honestly, we will probably stop in anytime we visit Vicksburg, that's how much we enjoy this place. I definitely recommend adding this to your list of places to visit if you're in town, or passing through.
Connie W — Google review
As someone who appreciates historic architecture, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the old courthouse museum. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout, making the experience all the more pleasant. A delightful surprise was Eva, the resident outdoor cat, who added an extra touch of charm to the visit. As a proud cat parent myself, her presence truly made the day unforgettable.

We highly recommend this museum. Great place with many wonderfulartifacts! Easily accessible by the ramp Outside on one side of the building. There is a chair lift to take you up to the second floor if you can't do stairs. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.

Wonderful historical experience! Great for the whole family or anyone who is interested in Civil War history. Plan an hour minimum. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Gift shop was great. Displays are informative and well organized. Sparked a lot of interest in the Civil War for my children.

Has awesome displays, explanations of the cival war, drawings/pictures of the war at Vicksburg. Many artillery shells with fuse explanations, costumes of the period, tools, the original clock mechanism. Drawing of the mechanism under water which sunk the gun boat U S S Charo. There was a reading stating the residents would not celebrate 4th of July for a century.

Nestled in the heart of Vicksburg, the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum is a delightful tribute to the origins of one of the world's most beloved beverages. This beautifully restored building marks the spot where Coca-Cola was first bottled back in 1894 by the Biedenharn family. The museum offers an engaging journey through time with exhibits that delve into Coca-Cola's fascinating history, showcasing everything from early bottling processes to vintage advertising campaigns.
This is a great collection of Coke memorabilia and local history. It’s nothing like the glitzy Coke Museum in Atlanta ( and for some, this is a good thing). It’s $3.50 a person to take a little walk through history. Lots of old advertising pieces. Lots of trademarked items. Documents of the history of the candy company and bottling company. Huge collection of coke bottles from around the world. It’s not a big place but it’s not crowded and you can spend as much time as you want. They sell ice cream and ice cream floats. The customer service is excellent. Knowledgeable. There are some other shops up and down the street nearby that you can stop into.
Sharon H — Google review
Small museum that shows the history of Coca Cola being bottled in the region. They have cokes available for sale from 1991 to current day. They also lots of coke memorabilia for sale. They sell coke floats as well. It cost $3 per person to get into the museum side. Not much to see here beyond what you see in the picks. Suggest skipping and visiting the Atlanta Coca Cola Museum instead.
Susan H — Google review
Great collection of coca-cola products, was interesting to read about the history behind some of these items and see what they looked like throughout time.
Chelsey H — Google review
3.50 admission fee, small but very good coca cola nostalgia! We enjoyed going back in time! Go out back and visit the old fountain station building! Hunter was very nice and we enjoyed it!
PMTasha B — Google review
Being a bottle collector and fan of Coca-Cola, I really enjoyed this museum. You can even order a Coke or float to enjoy while taking the tour.
Wyn D — Google review
I learned today that Coca-Cola was first bottled here in Vicksburg. What a neat little museum. It was only a $3.50 entry fee and it took about 20 minutes to walk through. Recommend stopping in if you enjoy history. They also have some souvenirs and gifts at the end of the self-guided tour you could purchase.
Ethan — Google review
Nice little Coca-Cola museum with tons of history and collections. My only complaint is that the bottled sodas we purchased could have been colder. I mean, it is promoted as "ice cold Coca-Cola."The entrance fee is very reasonable.

The Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum in Vicksburg, Mississippi offers an immersive experience into the significance of the Mississippi River and its impact on the surrounding communities. The museum showcases interactive exhibits that delve into the river's ecosystem, its influence on regional economy, and its cultural importance. Visitors can explore a full-scale replica of the M/V Mississippi IV, a retired towboat transformed into an engaging walk-through exhibit providing insights into life on the river.
I am planning to drive home by way of the Great River Road and wanted to learn something before I left. The film was informative, the museum had great exhibits, and the walk through the riverboat was awesome. Well worth the visit!
Mike M — Google review
What a great museum! There are a lot of displays and videos about the impact of the Mississippi River and the impacts on the topography of all the areas it flows through. I really found the interactive portions to help put it into perspective and show how things change and how man can help lessen the impacts of environmental factors. The gentleman working was very friendly. Free admission and there is free parking nearby.
Andrea F — Google review
I loved this museum and the ship. It seemed as if several of their audio-visual elements were down like the theater and several of the kiosks, but it is a very thorough and detailed history of the river and Vicksburg and the Army Corps of Engineers. I learned a lot I didn't know and it will give you a greater appreciation for the Corps of Engineers.
BRAD B — Google review
We had never heard of this place, even being from Mississippi. Took a road trip after my wife saw it online. The museum itself is somewhat interesting, but the tugboat named Motor Vessel Mississippi  IV, attached to the museum was very cool. Basically fully maintained since 1961. It’s a large tugboat that the US Army Corp if Engineers used. Very cool. Admission $3.50.
Michael M — Google review
A nice little afternoon stop on a roadtrip. I picked it out for my dad, who I was traveling with, despite not having any particular interest myself, but I wound up reading every display and really enjoying the history lesson. And of course, I love a good old boat, so that part was excellent! On a Saturday afternoon there was almost no one there, so don't worry about crowds. Parking is street from what I could find, but wasn't an issue.
Izzy. O — Google review
It is pretty cool to check out if you haven't been on a working boat and this is coming from a person who works on tugs and pushboats. I worked on the red pushboat and company United Tugs as deckhand from the start of towing / tailing the riverboat down south to Hudson Drydock in Morgan City, La.. Then taken barge and boat back up through the Achafalaya river; having to cut the mast off the top of the wheelhouse to fit under the overpass during low tide and still was able to touch the bridge while passing under. That was me climbing the later with the life vest and dressed in black. It was a wonderful experience that I'll never forget and just as exciting visiting it 10 years after as a museum. I was so young then and the Vicksburg people were so nice and very friendly and such a beautiful place. The only problem was after listening to some music that afternoon having a couple this flat swamp land boy was worried about walking down dat hill to get back to da boat. Hahahaha.
Kenneth B — Google review
Nice museum with quite a few informational displays. It is clean and you can tour the large rowboat on display. Admission is free and they have restroom facilities. It is located close to the river in historic downtown.

The Old Depot Museum, housed in a beautifully restored 1907 railroad depot, offers an intriguing blend of military and railroad history. Visitors can explore a captivating collection of exhibits featuring ship models, including Civil War gunboats and riverboats crucial during that era. A highlight is the expansive diorama of the Vicksburg Battlefield, showcasing over 2,300 miniature soldiers for a detailed portrayal of the historic siege.
Stopped in to check out this unassuming museum. Glad we did. The ladies is spoke with were very welcoming. Nice train displays that are fully functional Lionel’s. There is also An amazing Vicksburg battlefield diorama. There is a highly knowledgeable guide to explain and answer many questions about the battle and battlefield history. It’s definitely worth your time to stop by and see what they have to offer. I highly recommend it.
Mark J — Google review
Unfortunately we arrived right after closing time on a quiet Saturday evening. Hopefully can return and visit it one day. Walked around the outside and took some photos just the same. The old rail cars are showing a bit of neglect and corrosion but I hope the interior holds some nice exhibits.
Jeff S — Google review
So much information to get through. The diorama of the battle grounds is a must see! Helped put everything in perspective and made the National Park drive through so much more realistic. Could have spent hours there but didn't realize we needed that much time- came too close to the closing. That may be why the ladies there didn't do anything but turn on the trains for a few min and then the video in the next room- which ended up not playing. We were encouraged to look at both floors of things, but they never circulated and couldn't answer our questions.
Corie N — Google review
The Old Depot Museum of Vicksburg is a very eclectic collection of railroad memorabilia, model trains, ships and Vicksburg history in an old train depot. The building itself is historically significant and nice to look at. There is really a little of everything here including a scale model of the Vicksburg battlefield. A very interesting place to visit.

Popped in out of Curiosity and what a pleasant surprise! Very informed Staff, buy entry to The Museum.....Fun and Fascinating.
Hi — Google review
Friendly staff, and it's not just trains! There was military and transportation and even my favorite Coca-Cola room! If you haven't, you need to!
Johnny R — Google review
Lots to see here... model trains, models of many warships from several eras, and other artwork. For me, the most worthwhile item was the diorama of the Vicksburg siege. If your itinerary includes the battlefield drive, seeing this diorama first might help put things in a more understandable perspective.

The Vicksburg Riverfront Murals, located on Levee Street, are a series of 32 colorful panels adorning the river floodwall. Created by artist Robert Dafford starting in 2001, these murals vividly depict the history and heritage of Vicksburg.
Along the Yazoo River, close to where it feeds in to the Mississippi and at the bottom of Vicksburg MS the USACE built concrete flood walls. In the early 2000s a group of talented artists painted murals on each of the roughly 15' wide by 10' high wall panels depicting aspects of the history of Vicksburg ( notably excepting the 1863 conflict). Each has a bronze plaque explaining the painting. All are quite nice but these are 3 of my favorites. An interesting place to go if you are in Vicksburg. I must say that the surrounding area is not particularly attractive. Still, worth the stop.
Henry D — Google review
Beautiful and interesting murals. I like that they're right on the Mississippi River. Just wish that you didn't have to walk up and down a hill to get to them from the main street.
Jeffrey B — Google review
Absolutely beautiful murals and such detail in them too!! Definitely a nice place to walk around and enjoy history and fresh air. Right beside the Mississippi River as well!!
Chadwick D — Google review
A great series of panels painted along the Mississippi River flood wall detailing life in and around Vicksburg over the years. It is a touristy area as well as local frolicking in the nearby water park and folks having picnics on the weekend while enjoying the nice weather.
Jeff S — Google review
This is a great little walk. We took the time to read all of the information with the murals, and the history included is varied and fascinating. One tip: We went in the morning, because we didn't want to go during the hottest part of the day. However, we realized from the sun position, that we probably would have been in the shade had we gone in late afternoon. 🤷‍♀️
Debbie T — Google review
I loved it you get highlights of both Mississippi and Vicksburg
Carin — Google review
The murals were very nicely done. They are across the street from a little city park with a splash pad. It had a few picnic tables and some shade. It was an older park that needed some updates. The murals, however blocked the view of the river. It was a boat entrance. It would have been really nice to be able to see the river from the park.

The USS Cairo Gunboat and Museum, located in Vicksburg National Military Park, offers a unique opportunity to explore Civil War naval history. The museum showcases the restored gunship, which was sunk in 1862 and raised in 1964, revealing a well-preserved time capsule of life aboard a Union gunboat. Visitors can marvel at the formidable vessel itself and view associated period artifacts while learning about its role in American history.
This exhibit is very impressive. I was surprise by the size of the gunboat. The preservation and restoration is amazing. You can actually walk through a portion of the gunboat. The onsite museum has 100's of artifacts, information and a video about the recovery. $20 was the admission price for all of that on the day we visited. You can purchase your ticket online.

Museum, gift shop, and restrooms inside. Very respectful, welcoming staff. I liked that their staff took great care in bringing down the American flag during the start of a heavy storm to protect it. Lots of parking. National cemetery across the parking lot overlooking the Mississippi River. Very peaceful surroundings. Handful of picnic areas for use.

I’ve been here several times on road trips. I enjoyed it so much I brought my teen boys to see it this time. They were very interested and liked they could actually walk out on the boat and see the cannons, etc. A museum is attached and informative. The Beautiful grounds are good for birding, also. I entered with my National Park Pass.

Bar & grill
Located atop the First National Building, 10 South Rooftop Bar & Grill offers a unique twist on Southern classics. This local favorite is perfect for sunset happy hours with its stunning views of the river. The restaurant's menu features a variety of dishes such as shrimp and grits, catfish tacos, pulled pork, crawfish balls, whiskey glazed ribeye, and BBQ half chicken. Additionally, it offers small plates and sides like baked beans and waffle fries.
If you're passing through Vicksburg, 10 South Rooftop Bar & Grill is a must. I arrived in town just before sunset and was looking for a relaxing place to take in the view. ChatGPT recommended this spot, and it absolutely nailed it. Madison, my server, was fantastic—super friendly and spot-on with her recommendations. She suggested the gumbo, and it did not disappoint—rich, flavorful, and exactly what I needed after a long drive. Then she talked me into trying the cheesecake, and I'm glad she did. It was massive and incredibly tasty—definitely big enough to share (but I didn’t have anyone to split it with, not that I would have). Between the food, the service, and the rooftop view at sunset, it was a perfect evening. Great drinks, great vibes, and a staff that really cares. Thanks again, Madison!
Rick A — Google review
My wife and I were visiting and told the food and atmosphere was worth going to the roof top. In was very busy, but every staff member took their time out to greet us, as we waited for a table. I had the filet smothered in crayfish tails/sauce, blackened green beans, garlic smashed potatoes, and grilled Cajun shrimp. When I say, "The steak was a top 5 best steak I've ever had", I really do mean it! It was flavorful, melt in your mouth tender, and the crayfish sauce was divine. All sides were delicious as well. However, the shrimp was slightly overcooked (dry). I didn't mind one bit because my taste buds were reaping the benefits of the delectable steak. My wife really enjoyed the large Caesar salad w/ grilled chicken. Nick (our waiter), was great and took care of us throughout the evening. He even talked me into giving the Chef special a try.....thanks Nick! All-In-All, we were very impressed and enjoyed the breathtaking view of Vicksburg and the sun setting over the mighty Mississippi. We will come back!!
Chris A — Google review
Absolutely loved it, a shout-out to Christine, our waitress. You can't beat the view and alone worth the stop, but the food was delicious and appropriate for the sports bar/grill it is. Besides a great menu with lots of choice, they will basically fix anything you want, any way you want, as long as they have the ingredients. It doesn't get any better than that no matter where you go. The place has tons of seating and various views over the city and river, and very family friendly. Highly recommended.
Charles C — Google review
Thanks to Desiree, the hostess for seating us at a great view table! She was very helpful! 💯 to Hannah for being the sweetest and most attentive to her customers! I absolutely love love love that I decided to bring my husband here for brunch. The food 10/10 I do recommend. My server was very friendly she helped me find a nice drink that i definitely enjoyed.i had the blacken catfish with parmesan grits and a kool-Aid to drink. The VIEW was a vibe we enjoyed the drinks as well. Most definitely will be back!!!

We stopped by for a few drinks before looking around downtown. Very cool restaurant with an amazing view. Would have been nicer but our server was rude, I guess because we were just having a few drinks in his section... Not sure. Anyways take note as they charged gratuity since we were only drinking at a table. Food looked good from what I saw, my old fashion was ok.

Anytime you're traveling through Vicksburg, this is a must visit restaurant. Keep in mind they're not open on Mondays. The free appetizers of garlic, salted pretzels and honey mustard really sets the mood for a beautiful sunset and a wonderful meal. The parmesan grits are amazing! Don't forget they're deadly double chocolate bread pudding is a must-have as well.

Great service, delicious food, amazing views. Chris was a very knowledgeable friendly server, providing excellent service. The food was perfect, and arrived quickly. It was nice to sit and enjoy the views of the city from above and catch up with family. Our first visit, but we will return soon.

Anchuca Historic Mansion and Inn is an elegant Greek Revival B&B located in Vicksburg. The mansion, built in the 1830s and expanded in 1847, has a rich history including surviving the siege of Vicksburg during the Civil War. The rooms are filled with period antiques and named after previous occupants of the house. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a courtyard, pool, terrace, garden, and complimentary wireless internet access.
This was our second trip to Anchuca and it surpassed our expectations because we arranged our visit to partake in the dining schedule in the mansion. The food, service and setting was amazing. My husband and I had the asparagus bisque, and enjoyed sea bass, prepared to perfection with the side of pimento cheese grits. One of the best meals I have had when traveling! The desserts are over the top and made by Anna Kate, be sure to try her macaroons. Vicksburg, is full of surprises and historical treasures but Anchuca is at the top of the treasure chest. The staff of Anchuca Mansion and Inn are definitely an example of Southern hospitality! We will be returning!

Road trip from Texas to east coast - my family of five chose to spend a night at this amazing historic home. Every single employee and the young couple owners were the epitome of genuine southern hospitality. Hard working and friendly and devoted to sharing the history of this incredible home. We unfortunately left clothes in the closet and they mailed them to my destination! God bless them and we would absolutely love to return!

The service was outstanding. We had meant to book for the same night but I had accidentally booked the wrong date. They immediately resolved the issue for us with no hesitation. The room itself was beautiful and surprisingly toddler friendly. We were able to use the pool which was a real treat. And the breakfast was stellar, best ive had in a while. But I would say where this b&b stands out is its amazing customer service and above average staff. Thank you for such a special visit.

Friendly convenient clean. Great for dinner. Nice pool. Breakfast was uneven but I won't down rate rather to encourage. Monday looked and tasted like weekend leftovers with tepid coffee in short supply. Tuesday almost perfect...2 eggs please. Wednesday, one egg please for the waffles.

The property is a beautifully appointed Ante Bellum Mansion and your stay comes with a tour of the house. Rooms were excellent with real glasses and coffee/tea cups. Wait staff in the restaurant were professional and very helpful. The cuisine was delicious Southern fare with a twist. Bed was firm and comfy and there were a couple types of pillows to choose from. Would stay here again if I come through town!

I think this could have been an amazing experience but unfortunately for me personally, it was a disappointment. My husband and I booked a stay here to be able to escape stress and enjoy a romantic dinner together. I was so excited for a steak. I ordered mine medium well. When our dinner came, I cut in mine and it was very rare. We sent it back and they apologized and said it was a thicker cut than they usually have. They brought it back, I cut into it, it looked done but it was just the piece I cut into when I initially got it. When the waitress walked off, I cut another piece and again, extremely rare. I couldn’t fine the waitress and my husband was halfway done with his meal. I lost my appetite at this point because I lost the opportunity to have dinner with him and even if someone had been available to send it back a 2nd time, I would have been eating by myself because my husband was almost done with his meal. He ended up eating my steak too. Not even a discount was offered. I left hungry. Anytime a fillet is ordered at medium well or well, it should be butterflied in order for it to cook to the right temperature. I definitely WOULD recommend to someone else but make sure you ask for your steak to be butterflied unless you enjoy a rare steak. They don’t seem to know to do it. The room was nice and Michael was great but I did book the room for the meal and it was such a let down.

Anytime you are in Vicksburg to enjoy the many excellent historic places, enjoy the arts, music and scenery, seriously consider staying with Anna Kate and Sam at this bed and breakfast. Beautiful setting, excellent outdoor pool, restaurant to brag about, and walkable location to almost anything you would need or want to do. Service was friendly, impeccable. Highly recommend.

Anchuca inn is so rich in history in fact the whole area has tons of big, old homes. The ladies that were checking us in were so nice and very knowledgeable. The room was beautiful and you can smell the old. The bed was comfortable and it stayed pretty quiet even with is being in the very last room closest to the road. We had to leave early so I wasn’t able to try the breakfast. I had to call the owners to find out what to do with the key since there was no overnight box and they were extremely nice. We will definitely be back when we can spend more time in the area and learn more about the history.

The Vicksburg Civil War Museum, located in a historic building in the heart of Vicksburg, Mississippi, offers a captivating journey into the American Civil War. Owned by Charles Pendleton, it is the first African American-owned Civil War Museum and provides a unique perspective on Black history during this era. The museum houses an extensive collection of artifacts including original weaponry, soldier uniforms, and personal diaries that offer insight into the human experience during this tumultuous period.
I could have spent a day here alone! Definitely a gem in Vicksburg. Loved the owner had us read the mission statement - SPOT ON! Then the succession letters from each of the states. It is small, but jam packed with so many artifacts, information, quotes, guns, rifles, musical instruments, bullets, cooking/eating tools, etc. Just amazing the collection held here - a must return to if we are in the area so we can spend some more time!

When we first walked into this museum the man who owns it greeted us. He is personable and knowledgeable. Do not be deceived by the size of this museum. It is well organized, has a vast variety of items that are labeled, videos, paintings, and interesting information throughout. It cost $10 per person to go through, and it is well worth it.
Judy G — Google review
I am so happy I found this museum. It was great to see such an amazing collection, from all aspects of the war. Whether it was found ammunition from various battlefields, the collection of quotes from both sides displayed throughout, or the vast amount of weaponry, this place gets better and better with the turning of each corner inside the building. The best part of this museum however, is the owner of the collection, Charles. He is such a great person, and I felt very fortunate he took the time to have such a great conversation. If you find yourself in Vicksburg, please go see him. You won’t be disappointed.

Unbelievable collection and history. Wonderfully friendly owner and curator. Worthy of being in the Smithsonian. The collection I mean. It’s worth driving out of your way to see this. Please support him through donations or purchases of memorabilia. It’s inconceivable how he could put this together without a national service or agency backing.

This is a fabulous museum, with thousands of exhibits professionally presented and kept in clean and wonderful condition. The owner and curator Mr Charles Pendleton is super friendly and offers a wealth of knowledge - he enjoys chatting and interacting with his museum visitors. A really nice man. My wife and I are from Great Britain and we were travelling through the Deep South and Midwest on a road trip - we enjoyed meeting Charles and are very pleased we stopped by his museum. I came. I browsed. I bought. I fell in love. The Attic Gallery is not just a place, it's a passion. The love and respect of art and artist is woven into the visual tapestry of color and texture and pleasure while the oohs and ahhs and sharp inhales and soft clinks and clanks of arranging and rearranging treasures becomes the joyous soundtrack of the shopping experience. This first visit I was overwhelmed with the urge for beautiful pottery. I hope for more visits and purchases. What a wonderful atmosphere these lovely, smart, knowledgeable ladies have created as they curate and caretake precious works.

Walnut Hills is a charming restaurant located in a historic 1880 building, showcasing the classic architecture of Vicksburg. The menu features passionately prepared Southern cuisine, with staples like fried chicken and mac n cheese taking center stage. Diners can enjoy their meals round table-style for lunch or order à la carte. The restaurant's thoughtful details include the option to book round tables for buffet-style dining, where a variety of Mississippi dishes are shared among guests.
We found Walnut Hills on our way back from New Orleans. This place was charming, clean, with an old-school feel! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. My husband and I shared the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, then he had their fried chicken plate with purple hull peas, turnip greens, and corn bread, and I had the shrimp and grits. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. I took a piece if key lime pie to go and ate it when I got home. It sealed the deal...we wull have to come back soon😋

Beautiful presentation and wonderful waiter! The location was gorgeous, yet I wondered why it was Soo empty.. I found out when I took a bite of my food. Nothing was seasoned properly, if at all. It was a serious let down. Every bite was like a mouthful of nothingness. The chicken fried steak was burnt and dry and the cranberry juice was flat also. The female waitress storming thru the restaurant, complaining about how mad she was over her break, was entertaining tho. Lol

Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend. Home style southern cooking. Very juicy fried chicken with a crispy and flavourful skin. Fried shrimp dinner was also great. Very friendly service. The dessert section is massive and is made by a neighbour- they are so immaculate we thought they were shop bought! Very friendly service. Would recommend to anyone staying or passing through.

We love going to this quaint and wonderful Restaurant. Of course we started our lunch with fried green tomatoes and they were excellent! Then, I had the oyster po-boy sandwich and my husband had fried chicken, green beans, black eyed peas and banana pudding. Everything was delicious! We came back for dinner and I had Redfish Almondine and my husband had Salmon and Grits. Our dinner was amazing! Our waitress was so nice and helpful! She even showed us the peach habenero jelly so we can try to order us some, so good!

I love her work. You can feel her passion for the people and culture of Mississippi. Bright, vibrate, playful, soulful. I have her painting of Reverend H. Dennis aka Preacher. Whom i was fortunate to have met when we lived a short time in Vicksburg. She captured his spirit and i can still hear his voice when i read his words she put in the picture. The Duff Green Mansion in Vicksburg is a striking B&B with ornate rooms, free parking, an outdoor pool, and a garden with a terrace. This Victorian bed & breakfast offers concierge services, room service, and recreational opportunities such as an outdoor pool. Built in 1856 by prominent businessman Duff Green, the mansion has a rich history serving as a Confederate hospital during the Civil War and later as an orphanage and retirement home.
Oh my gosh what a great place. We loved our visit. The staff was amazing and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Breakfast was incredible with so many courses. I loved every bite - Harley please have the cook tell me how she made scrambled eggs so tasty. Loved the wine and conversation in the evening. I know there were other guests because we met them at breakfast but we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves during the night. The morning tour was awesome too - so much interesting information. One tip for guests selecting rooms - we stayed in the suite with attached nursery and it was perfect for our group. It is accessed by a beautiful but long staircase. I packed my overnight and next morning items in a backpack and left my suitcase in the car. If you are younger and stronger getting luggage up the stairs would be a breeze - for me the backpack was perfect. Loved this place so much.

This was our second time staying here and we will definitely be back. Thank y'all for your hospitality. I definitely recommend this to anyone

Met as I was walking in by the proprietor, who was gracious enough to see me into the grand entrance hall and introduce me to the concierge on duty. There was gospel singing going on in the parlor at that time that was music to my soul! Appetizers and wine were available, as well. Concierge could not have been nicer. I was shown to my room. (Make sure your party can handle stairs for this property.) So enjoyed my talks with other guests, but mostly with the beautiful tall concierge, who has been a Vicksburg resident all of her life. The next morning, the breakfast staff was kind enough to make a to-go breakfast for me to take on the road. And it was delicious and perfect! Biscuits, sausage and an egg that was so good and easy to eat on the road - I need this recipe! I could smell clean sheets and towels when I entered the room (not scented, just clean!) and everything was perfect. Nice large bathroom and plenty of room for my overnight stay.

What a great experience staying here as we drove to Texas! My family stayed in the Duff Green Suite with the attached nursery. There was so many beds nobody had to fight over which one they wanted! The host was very friendly and very responsive, I appreciated the happy hour after a long drive that day. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic. Loved the entire meal but especially the coconut cake! I feel like the location is good. It was close to the Military park, restaurants and not far from downtown. My only complaint was the pool. When we went down it was cold, hadn’t been cleaned or skimmed for bugs in a while. The kids still played but stuck to one side and pushed the bugs to the other. *We couldn’t stay for the house tour so I can’t say anything about that but I definitely wish we would have been able to…from what we heard it sounded very interesting.
Megan L — Google review
We were really looking forward to our stay at Duff Mansion based on the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. From the start, things felt off and so far from what we had read. There was no warm welcome or hospitality, actually, we couldn’t even access our room upon arrival because the key wasn’t there (we got a text that said it would be in a lockbox since we were going to be arriving after 6pm). After making a call and locating someone on the property, we were met with a rather dismissive attitude from a staff member who seemed preoccupied on the phone. Same with the person we called. The accommodations themselves left much to be desired. The beds were extremely firm and the pillows were unusually flat, making for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The coffee bar area was not very clean, and the water had an unpleasant taste. We hoped breakfast would redeem things, but it, too, was disappointing, and the coffee was undrinkable. I did attempt to address our concerns privately via email but never received a response. The experience overall felt strange and uninviting, and we found ourselves counting down the hours until check-out. To top it off, there was an unexpected $17 charge for our child that was not disclosed at booking and she didn’t touch the breakfast. Given the price point and our overall experience, we, unfortunately, won’t be returning. I truly hope our feedback helps the property improve future guests’ experiences.

We loved staying here! This was our half point from Texas to Florida and decided to stay here. The room we stayed in was called the Confederate. It was very big for my family of 4 and we loved seeing the historic furniture and paintings in it. The breakfast was also delicious! Our stay at the Duff Green Mansion was a truly memorable experience. The property itself is rich with history and maintain beautifully. One highlight of our stay was the 5 o'clock wine hour. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique, and enriching travel experience -- with a splash of southern hospitality.

The Duff Green Mansion is a lovely house in a nice part of town. However, beware the Hideaway is very poor. It is outside the house is a less than glamorous courtyard, with grid ceilings like an office, it is a little damp and not good at all. It is disappointing to see such little effort made by the owners. Also, breakfast is from 8.30am so if you want to make an early start, not possible. All in all, lovely if you get a good room but avoid the Hideaway.

It has been consistently voted as the best restaurant in Vicksburg, attracting food bloggers from all over. The menu features a superb wine list and an array of seafood dishes like oysters, yellow fin tuna, grouper, soft shell crab, as well as pasta and steak options.
This was my first visit and it didn't disappoint. My family had been there before, and their accolades had now become mine. 😊 The food was spectacular! Our server was professional and attentive. The atmosphere was that of a normal Southern restaurant . The dessert was dynamite and I'm not even a pie girl. The main dishes were cooked to perfection and the sides JUST RIGHT-FRESH! Needless to say, I will be back.
Zakiya K — Google review
Came here on a recommendation from a trusted local. Rusty's is a very good seafood restaurant with great staff and an inviting atmosphere. Parking is easy. The restaurant was very busy but we only had a couple minute wait. The menu is filled with great items but I opted for the specialty - a blackened grouper fillet with a Creole sauce. Terrific combination. My spouse picked the grilled tuna which was perfectly seasoned and prepared. You won't leave here hungry. Side dishes are on the large side. The main dish is too so you may need a takeout container if something hits your fancy - like any of the deserts. The calamari appetizer was a bit on the well-done side and the individual pieces were rather small and mostly breading so we ate only about a third of what was on the plate. Rusty's has an upcharge on some of the side items and a 3% credit card charge that went unnoticed until the bill arrived. All in all, we'll be back to try some more of the menu and will try to keep the bill under $100.

The sweet tea was made to perfection for sweet tea lovers. Overall the atmosphere is fun and full of life! Will stop next trip! Don't skip out on trying Rusty's riverfront. Well worth a visit.

I came in around 8:30, was quickly sat. I walked in frustrated because my job was pestering me and all I wanted to do was enjoy a good meal after a rough week. Server came by promptly and was attentive all meal long. After ordering I noticed some specials on the TV screen and decided to try the bang band Brussel Sprouts, I should of asked how they were cooked because otherwise I wouldn't have ordered them if I knew they were fried. They had a strange texture and flavor profile, I was not a fan. However the steal and broiled oysters were absolutely INCREDIBLE! My sides were very good as well.

We were told this place is a must try and the selection of food was plentiful. I'm was thinking "Ok....this sounds like a bar food place to eat". Oh was i so wrong! I had shrimp tacos w/ a side loaded potato and my wife had a grilled pineapple chicken sandwich on an onion bun. It was delicious!! And let me tell you, they had pies, cheesecakes, and Mississippi brownies!! You could get slices or buy a whole pie or cake. I decided to get a whole chocolate peanut butter pie (take it home for everyone to try) and my wife got a slice of Mississippi brownie. They were so good and very rich in flavor. We thoroughly enjoy this place. We'll be back for more pies!

We booked the for a weekend getaway and was more than satisfied. We arrived later than check in but Kristin went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed to get in. She even went to the parking lot and videoed our pathway. When we arrived this was very helpful as we followed the video straight to our room. As nice and quiet as the place is the Owner and staff made it memorable for me and my wife and we will definitely be back. The Grant Suite was everything we hoped it would be. Cedar Grove consistently delivers outstanding service, food, and atmosphere. My wife and I have been dining here since before we had children, and we’re impressed by how they maintain their high standards while genuinely welcoming families. The staff takes pride in their work, the food quality is excellent, and the elegant yet warm atmosphere works perfectly for both date nights and family meals. As Vicksburg locals, we’re fortunate to have such a quality restaurant and venue in our community.

Every moment, every interaction with staff was perfect! We were running late and called ahead; Lauren answered and assured us she would be there waiting. When we arrived we were met with smiles from Lauren and Tracy, a quick tour, and "We're glad you're here with us". One young man quietly opened doors for us with a smile and a nod as we hauled our stuff in. The morning staff was genuine and kind and those breakfast biscuits were divine! Katrina gave us a tour after breakfast, her insight into the history of the mansion was cheerful and detailed. And we got to have Tracy and Lauren again for dinner the next night! Anthony served us amazing drinks, and the food was next-level deliciousness. Everyone wished us well as we left (which we didn't want to go) and told us to hurry back again one day (which we most certainly will). Ms. Kendra, you have a phenomenal staff, a beautiful Inn, and have elevated a historic building to rival others across the country. Kudos and we cannot wait to see you all again!

Such a lovely place! How ever I wish the breakfast was more of a menu or buffet instead of being forced to eat what they give you! I also wished the hot tub worked. Regardless of those two things that aren't really issues. The place was super clean, the staff was wonderful, and the grounds are well kept. The pool cabana room is highly recommended with soft beds and perfect pillows.

Stayed here for our 10th anniversary and had a wonderful time! The property has a lot of history and offers a tour with your stay. The food was amazing and the staff were super nice. They serve a great Old Fashioned cocktail that's one of the best I've had.

The house if full of the nostalgia of the past while providing all the comforts of the present. The host, Latonya Brown, gave a very educational tour of the home. Her love for her city and the home poured through her presentation. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. The pork tenderloin and the catfish were exceptional. We stayed in Grant’s room. It was spacious and full of history. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. We will stay again next time we return to Vicksburg.

This inn is a beautiful place with lots of history. We really appreciate the work the owner is doing to restore the facilities. Our room was tastefully decorated. We loved the “look” including the furnishings, artwork, and mirrors. The view of the river from our balcony was fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable with a very good mattress and lots of pillows. We recommend adding a few comfortable chairs in the living room. The stuffed mushrooms , apple pecan salad, bread, and filet mignon were excellent. For breakfast, we were served bacon, scrambled eggs, grapes and a biscuit which were all very tasty. The staff members were delightful, warm and professional. We really appreciated the service. We encourage the owner and staff to continue making improvements. We are very likely to return when in the area.

Nature & Parks
Catfish Row Art Park is a waterfront park in Vicksburg that offers a glimpse into the city's history and provides entertainment for both children and adults. The park features a splash fountain, children's art, and a paddle wheel steamboat on the river, allowing visitors to learn about life in Vicksburg long ago while enjoying the fresh air. It is located close to riverfront murals and other museums, making it an ideal destination for families with kids.
This park is a great place to take your children. My kids love this park because the water cools them off after playing on the playground. It's a nice atmosphere and the artwork is a bonus, because it's really neat and cool to see.

The Catfish Row Art Park has a nice collection of structures that to me resemble the old stack caps of riverboats. A nice area to stroll and admire the art that is all around. There are also some historic plaques displayed in the area. The water feature was not working while we were there but I understand it is very nice.

The Catfish Row Museum in Vicksburg offers a comprehensive cultural experience, delving into the city's music, history, food heritage, worship, and visual arts. Housed in a historic Mississippi Landmark building with a rich past as a carriage manufacturer, blacksmith shop, car dealership, and blues club, the museum provides insights into Vicksburg's earliest days to its present-day diverse arts and culinary culture.

YES. This is a fantastic museum of the history of Vicksburg and its people. Take a couple of hours, learn and enjoy! Than you to the members of the Vicksburg community who started and support this dynamic resource.

The name for this museum is a bit deceiving. It is in fact not a museum about catfish, but about the city, region and the influence of the past on the present and future. It is about the people, the food and so much more. Admission is free, but they do accept donations. I would recommend this to anyone in the area for an in depth look into the culture.

Horrible do not book!!! Waste of time and money!! Guide is sexist wouldn’t let me fish, but had no problem allowing my brother and father to fish. He would say we would “take turns” and started with my brother and father however wouldn’t ever let me fish (the only female) he kept saying “I didn’t know how to do it correctly” and would proceed to fish with my rod. Worst fishing trip ever. Well, if you call it fishing. We were out for HOURS, basically the whole day and only caught 3 fish!! It was the worst fishing trip I have ever been on. DO NOT BOOK!!

Cafe
The Tomato Place is a small produce market located south of Vicksburg on Highway 61. They offer home cooked food in a quaint setting, with all the ingredients being sourced locally. Meal ideas include sandwiches and salads.
This place has such a relaxing atmosphere. The food is true southern comfort and the freshness cannot be beat. There’s out door seating with flowers all around. If it’s too hot outside then there’s two open room seating areas that have ac. This place is eclectic and fun with food that will make you drive out of your way to get a taste. We ordered the breakfast plate and they did not skimp on any of the meal. Tons of bacon. So much cheese on the grits that you can see the strands stretch as you get a bite. Everything was cooked perfectly as if you were at your Mawmaw’s house. I had to try their biscuits and they were soft and flaky. Partnering this with their honey was the best! Pictures cannot do this place justice. Thank yall so much for the good food and great experience. (We stole a few bites from the plate before the picture)

A Fantastic Breakfast Spot with Amazing Food & Southern Charm! We arrived around 10:30 AM and had one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had! We ordered a BLT with fried green tomato and avocado on rye, a side of fried green tomatoes, and the classic combo of eggs, stone-ground grits, bacon, and a biscuit. Every bite was off-the-wall good—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The service was just as impressive. The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and prompt, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights of this place is the vegetable stand with a great selection of fresh, high-quality produce. They also offer some fantastic canned and homemade products that are worth checking out. If you’re looking for a delicious meal with great service and a bit of local charm, this spot is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is 5 + star across the board! My husband and I LOVE this place. The staff is amazing. They are so friendly, and work so hard. We enjoyed every time we stopped by. The place offers a variety of delicious food options, that are made to order, along with fresh smoothies that are amazing, desserts, and drinks (the fresh made lemonade is so good). You will be impressed by all they offer at this small local roadside cafe. I have stomach issues, and the fresh fruit smoothies were a saving grace for me during our time in Vicksburg. We love this place so much, we went daily while in town, and agreed it will be our go to stopping place when traveling through the area. As I said, we had several meals, and nothing was short of excellent. Aside from all that, they sell fresh fruit, veggies, plants, homemade jam, homemade pickles, honey, their own sauce that will go on anything, breads, bread crumbs, coffee by the bag; just all sorts of things. The atmosphere is so relaxed, and welcoming. We honestly love it here. Great for any time of day, and is the PERFECT road side stop while traveling. They have seating in the main area (see pics), as well as outdoor seating scattered around. This wasn't our first time here, and we were so impressed that it is still as wonderful as our first visit. Without hesitation, add this place to your trip if you're ever passing through or visiting Vicksburg. If we lived closer, we'd be there regularly.

Amazing! What a cool place to enjoy a meal or snack. Wish I had The Tomato Place in my hometown. The nicest staff and coolest vibe. If I am anywhere near Vicksburg in the future, I will make time for another meal, cool views and southern hospitality.
Michael G — Google review
My wife found this place online. It looked like a quaint little produce store / hip restaurant. Only about 10 tables, which was fine. Produce selection was ok. Wonderful looking tomatoes! The look and vibe was cool. Huge menu, but the food was a big letdown. Burger was dry, overcooked with no flavor on what seemed to be a toasted, flat 2 day old bun. Located in the side of a highway, literally. Overgrown yard. This place has potential, but needs some tender loving care.
Michael M — Google review
The staff here is amazing! Miss Carolyn and Miss Anna were so friendly, generous, and helpful. Hands down, the best tomato sandwich I've ever had. Mac and cheese, cheesy grits, and fried okra were perfect. Not just good. Perfect. We love this place and make it a point to stop every time we're anywhere near Vicksburg.
Chris S — Google review
The Tomato Place is a true hole-in-the-wall gem! Packed with authentic, delicious Southern flavor in every bite. The BLT and cracklings are the favorites for sure—simple, fresh, and absolutely mouthwatering. If you’re in Vicksburg, this place is a must. Full of charm, flavor, and local character!

We stopped by on our way back to Dallas and it was such a fantastic stop! The fruit and vegetable selection is great (I’ve never seen produce so big!) & there are a lot of delicious food and drink options to choose from. Step into the past at the McRaven Tour Home, a pre–Civil War residence in Mississippi known for its haunted history. This historic house has been featured on various TV shows and magazines, showcasing its well-preserved rooms filled with museum-quality antiques from different time periods. The three-acre gardens, once a Confederate campsite and field hospital, offer a serene stroll through history.
This is a very interesting home with a lot of history. If you enjoy spooky but historical locations, this is right up your alley. Our tour guide was very good.
Lori H — Google review
Employees are friendly, but there's really nothing impressive about the place. Cool history, but not worth the $15/person entry fee. There are some pieces that remain in the home from previous owners, or items found on the property over time, but a good bit is simply "true to the era" of the section of the house it's in. Don't get me wrong, I love old stuff, and history, so I did enjoy looking at things and hearing the stories, but I got bored quickly. I imagine they offer the tour in an attempt to tell the history of the place, otherwise, there wouldn't be much draw. Sad to say, but I wouldn't recommend this place unless it was free or had a lower entry fee; it's just not worth it (IMO).
Connie W — Google review
We had the perfect tour experience! Our guide was knowledgeable, the history was fascinating, and the home was the perfect mix of southern gothic charm and macabre. This is a can’t-miss experience if you are visiting Vicksburg!
Katherine H — Google review
Let's start with the good, the house is beautiful and very well accommodated with period pieces . We went for a haunted tour and it looks spooky at night . The tour itself was not good. There were 2 tour guides who contradicted eachother. The stories were poorly told and jumped back and fourth . It could have been so much better.
Bambi D — Google review
I went on the haunted tour for 7 PM. Firstly, the house is beautiful inside and out. I’d love to visit during the day to take it all in. As for the tour itself, the actors delivered their stories well! My personal favorite was the last lady who pointed out my PTK shirt 😅. But everyone was interactive with the guests in their own way. Great tour!
Brite L — Google review
This has to be one of the craziest experiences I have ever had! I do believe that ghosts exist but always skeptical if things are legitimate. I have visited many haunted sites as I live in South Louisiana. This experience was like no other! Our tour guide Landon was full of knowledge about the property and the families that lived there. The first interesting thing happened when we entered the bedroom that Mary had passed away in. The light on the side table turned itself off! We then headed into Andrew's room. Landon warned us before we walked in that there is a heavy presence feeling in there. I 100% felt it the second I stepped into the room! I felt as if someone had hung weights on my body. Just a very heavy feeling. Landon proceeded to tell us about Andrew and his history. She mentioned pretty extensively that he is very handsy. She said that she has personally felt his hands on her backside and thighs. She also said that other guests have reported the same. It sounded very interesting but of course you can't help but wonder if people embellish the story just to make it more interesting. I did not feel Andrew's hands on me. We then went down into the kitchen for the final part of the tour. I had my phone in my hand because I am a big photo taker and was snapping lots of shots. The camera was on. I must have snapped a photo by accident. The photo was of the tour guide, my friend, and my legs and feet. When I looked at the photo I was in utter and complete shock! There is what very clearly appears to be a man's arm with veins sticking out and and outstretched hand as if it was trying to grab my leg!!! I had a blue long sleeve shirt on so absolutely was not my arm! There was no one else there but us three girls! I have photos of the whole kitchen area and there is nothing there that this could have been!

It was my first paranormal experience ever, and it was broad daylight! My tour guide, Steve was awesome and so knowledgeable! And a secret hint. Just remember, ravioli maker and homemade egg carton maker! Sorry Steve!
Johnny R — Google review
My daughter and I did the candle light tour. She’s 11 and usually not impressed by anything but she enjoyed the stories and acting! They take groups of 10 at a time so it’s not crowded. I did have a few little scares. I smelled a really strong ammonia smell like ammonia mixed with flowers, my daughter couldn’t smell anything. I also felt something like a feather on my arm and hand and had a little rash on my hand while I was there. Yes I could have been sensitive to some kind of plant or something in the environment but hey it’s supposed to be haunted right? It was a good time, the owner and employees obviously care a lot about the place and that’s pretty cool to see. I’d like to go back and do a daytime tour to see more of the house and grounds. My only advice is to wear flat shoes! The walkway and stairs are a little tricky if you’re wearing heels :)

The Main Street Market is a family-owned diner in Vicksburg, Miss. It features classic Southern cuisine, including gumbo, quesadilla and blackened prime rib dishes, as well as shrimp. The menu changes daily, but the food always tastes delicious.
We had the chef's special earlier today, fried chicken breast with white gravy and pinto beans. It was delicious!

This is a cute little cafe. My husband got a cheese steak sandwich. It was delicious. He was not disappointed. I got a blackened chicken club, also very good. Iced tea, soup or salad comes with the meal. If we were staying another day we probably would have gone back. We would have appreciated someone coming around more often to fill up our drinks. Otherwise, we enjoyed it.
Judy G — Google review
While passing through Vicksburg on a Monday we stopped in to eat as this place boasted a 4.8 rating. It is a very quaint old home with just the front room as the seating area. Everything looked tidy. We were greeted when we entered the door and directed to a table for three people. It was quickly noted that although the two servers greeted us, neither one at any time was ever seen smiling. They were pleasant enough but no smiles. An order was placed for a chicken salad sandwich, a cup of the soup of the day, a gyro and a roast beef with aus jus along with drinks. We received our order in a timely manner. Again, no smiles. The server came to check on us again but without a smile. Our food was just okay. It was not bad. We all three agreed we would go back again as it was better than fast food. But it did not match the reviews of excellence in actual taste. We have definitely had great but not here and not today. After sharing each other's meals we determined that the gyro was the best tasting of all three items. But it was not spectacular. Now these little biscuits that were supposed to be so delicious were a real let down. One person in my party is a biscuit expert and they were unimpressed and didn't even take a second biscuit. Usually they are stealing all the biscuits on the table from us without sharing. But not here. I only took one bite and I was done. We will pass on the biscuits altogether next time. We each took a turn at the one stall bathroom and agreed that it looked like it needed a deeper cleaning. There was trash including toilet paper on the floor. Now when it came time to stand in line and pay at the register, that lady was smiling as she took everyone's payments. But, again, she was the only one who smiled the whole time we were there. Very strange indeed. So four stars is all I care to afford across the board. We will try again on another pass through Vicksburg. Maybe today was an off today.

This was my first time here and was not impressed. The service and floks were very nice. I placed a order to go, chicken club with broccoli soup and a salad. The sandwich was ok, I thought it was supposed to be warm, very cold. The soup had good flavor but was so watered down. And the salad did not look fresh, very discolored. So I do plan on going back.We all have bad days.

It was a lovely lunch we were seated quickly and attentive staff and great break from ordinary meat and threes my crispy chicken pita was delicious and tomato bisque was Faboo! This was our third visit here and to be perfectly honest I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to leave a review. We live out of state and like to visit at least once per year while visiting our son in college. The service is always great & so is the food! Their appetizers are delicious, especially their homemade fries & fried pickles!! The atmosphere is fantastic. They even have a rooftop! We always choose to stay inside though. The waitress even recognized us and knew who we were! That speaks volumes about their service!

Great food and really good beer! I had the roasted pork collar, and it was delicious. Crispy bits but still melt in your mouth tender. My colleague had the party melt and said it was great as well. I had the bayou shake beer, which was amazing. I was hesitant because sours/milkshake style aren't usually what I like, but it is worth a try!

Jason brings his culinary expertise from renowned establishments such as Commanders Palace in New Orleans and Blackberry Farms in Tennessee. The ambiance at Relish is cool and inviting with its dark lighting and brick walls, making it a great spot for enjoying cocktails and hearty meals.
My friend and I had the most wonderful lunch. All the health protocols were followed which made it more relaxing. The service was excellent as well as the food. I had the half order of Wedge Salad and the Brussels Sprouts, which were my favorite. This is the type of upscale, locally sourced restaurant Vicksburg has been needing. I was so impressed that I arranged for a Christmas party lunch. The staff was very accommodating with a few of our personal protocols to protect our members. I can see this as being one of my favorite places.

Biscuits didn't rise, $12. Too floury, not enough butter; crumbly and hard. Was told it was because the biscuits were "home made" but they do not look like homemade southern biscuits. Shrimp and grits $18, good. Not enough grits, leaving hungry. Extremely slow service. Probably won't be back, was a really bad first impression. Such a great restaurant! The staff there are very kind and the food was delicious. I can't eat gluten, and they were willing to modify a lot of the menu. I ended up getting the house salad with chicken on the side. The vegetables were fresh and the dressing was super tasty.

Sunday brunch. Just a bit noisy due to bare walls, wood floors, etc. Seems like a lot of urban utaltarian style restaurants pay little attention to interior noise in their design or renovations.

Nestled in the heart of Vicksburg, the Martha Vick House stands as a beautifully restored mini-mansion that dates back to 1830. This historic gem was once home to Martha Vick, daughter of city founder Newit Vick, and is the only remaining original residence of the Vick family.
Such a beautiful home. The owners have made it into one of the most fascinating original home museums I have ever seen. One of the only homes left from the original Vick family of Vicksburg. The tour is casual and intimate with so many antiques and artifacts as early as 15th century.
Shad V — Google review
The hospitality of the owner was amazingly gracious. Her information of the history of the town, and home, was superb. She was thorough to explain the history of the house, and its near ruin, as well as its modern history. Her love for the home, and of the city of Vicksburg, shone brilliantly through every phase of her explanations. I would highly recommend this as a “have to” place to visit.
Sheila L — Google review
We were disappointed in the tour of this home. Expecting to gain knowledge regarding the original owners and the true origins of the home, we were given a tour that mostly included the current owners odd collections and current events that have taken place at this property (weddings/parties/ and the like). Unfortunately, the home was in disarray and very cluttered. Sure, these collections may be very valuable, but they seem not to be relevant to a tour of a 1800’s home.

The guy that owns the place and gives tours is an extremely nice guy and is quite knowledgeable. It is nice to see that someone cares and keeps the place in nice shape.

You cannot enter the location, as it appeared to be under construction. Based on the supports on the structure, the building is not doing well. Hope for the structure reopen in the future. We had to view from the outside on the street. Only a couple of miles from the battlefield.

Bazsinsky House is a charming 19th-century guesthouse located in downtown, offering cozy rooms with beautiful river views and whirlpool tubs. The house has a rich history dating back to the 1840s when it was built by Joseph Bazsinsky as a townhouse for his large Jewish family. Over the years, it has evolved into an architectural marvel, reflecting the changing times and needs of its inhabitants.
Came to Vicksburg for work for a week and was so grateful to have found such a wonderful place to stay!!! This house is beautiful with incredibly restored architecture unique to its time period. The rooms are stylishly appointed with period decor, clean, and comfortable. My room had the most incredibly comfortable mattress, and I slept like a baby. The ensuite bathroom with marble countertop is nicely modernized for comfort & had all the necessities. Shower always had great pressure & plenty of hot water. Hospitality is unmatched. The hosts are so warm & welcoming and it was so lovely to have a delicious, warm breakfast every morning. I felt like a queen every day!!! Andrew will go out of his way to make sure you have what you need, and has a very thorough knowledge of the house’s history. I am definitely going to plan a trip back to Vicksburg to see and explore more on a non-work related trip, and I will absolutely be making another reservation to stay at Bazsinsky house!
Lisa M — Google review
We had a wonderful stay at the beautifully restored Bazsinsky House which is in a great location within walking distance of downtown Vicksburg. Andrew is an outstanding host and he was so welcoming and helpful. He shared the interesting history of the home with us during the delicious breakfast. We highly recommend this B&B for a relaxing and comfortable visit to Vicksburg. We only wish that we'd been there longer!

A real and unexpected treasure almost like staying in a UK national trust property. Built around 1861 and extensively renovated. They only rent out two giant rooms at a time. Visitor Centers
The Mississippi Welcome Center in Vicksburg is a convenient stop for travelers, offering a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and its bridges. The downtown area along the Yazoo River adds to the charm of the riverfront. While there are no picnic tables, there's ample parking and clean restrooms with hand dryers. Visitors can also enjoy a breathtaking view of the river, bridges, and train trestle from this location. It's definitely worth considering as a potential stop during your travels.
They have lots of brochures inside. The ladies that were there today were absolutely delightful! I didn't get names, but one took time to speak with us, give us maps and mark them for us. They gave reccomendations based on the tour book. Bathrooms are accessible outside, you can walk into the center via the front or back doors. Nice view of the bridge and canons from the siege in the back. Little security post in the parking lot. Nice spot to stretch your legs and have a snack.
Grumpy S — Google review
A nice visitors center with a great view of the Mississippi River and the bridges crossing here. At the time of my visit it was clean with clean restrooms and a place to walk your leashed pet. There were a few cars here and I took the time to walk around a bit. Unfortunately some of the places were closed to the public like the observation deck and nearby Navy Circle.
Jeff S — Google review
I always enjoy stopping at this spot during my travels—it offers stunning views of the Mississippi River and the iconic bridges that cross it. The visitor center’s unique architecture has always caught my eye, though during this visit I learned that it's slated for demolition to make way for a more modern facility. While I appreciate the vision for the future, I’ll miss the classic colonnade design that gave the structure its charm. This was my first time going inside, and although it’s a beautiful space, it did carry a somber vibe of funeral home that made the planned update feel justified. I’m genuinely curious to see how the new structure will honor the location’s character while bringing a fresh experience.
Jimmy R — Google review
The view is beautiful off the back of the property! There are 2 bridges going over the Mississippi River and the property is well maintained! The outside access restrooms are not very well kept. The inside access restrooms are much better! They have a little pet area and a little wooden foot bridge you can walk along. They have a couple vending machines on the opposite side of the building which is great but neither of them would take cash and the card reader was down on both. Overall it was still a nice place to stop and it was worth the photo op!!
Kery R — Google review
This is a beautiful stop to stretch your legs but not the cleanest bathrooms by any means. There’s plenty of spots to relax and just look at the beautiful bridges and guides as per usual for a welcome center. The foot bridge is open randomly but there is a website you can check. It was closed to public today so I couldn’t tell you about it. I have came to this rest area multiple times and it has always been closed. Overall nice area to stop. But does loose a star for the poor bathroom experience. At least the toilets were cleanish.
April S — Google review
I have been here both in the day time and night. Beautiful building, great for a photo and getting info about the local area. The walk a around the building is perfect for taking photos of the bridge.

UN-Welcome Center! Mississippi doesn't care about human safety! I had driven 11 hours and it was 9pm, hard rain making it dangerous to continue driving on I-20. Cars and trucks going slow with flashers on, to explain how hard it was raining. I stopped at the welcome center for safety. Yes it was closed, which was fine. I just needed some sleep and off the road pulling my camper. Not another car in the parking lot (also fine). Rain eased up so I walked my dogs, got them in the camper,, dried them, fed them, changed into dry clothes and was going to sleep till morning. Security guy knocked on camper door. I checked to say hello and he said I couldn't stay there. "2 hr max parking", he said. I explained I was tired and couldn't safely drive in the rain. "Sorry, you have to leave. 2 hr max parking" . Not a sole in the parking lot but me. It was fine to drive sleepy in unsafe weather, kill myself or others, but I can't park in the 'WELCOME' Center in Mississippi! No wonder Mississippi ranks 50th in any ranking or rating in the country! They're #1 in Rude Welcome Centers!

The Visit Vicksburg tourist information center on Clay Street is great. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. There is also a great passport program which is free. They gave us a small book with a list of participating museums. We visited and had them stamp the book. We returned the books to Visit Vicksburg, with five stamps in each and got two free Tee shirts.

We came by too late I guess. We didn’t learn of the passport program until we had begun our history tour and had only 2 of our visits stamped We went to 6 of the sites listed in the passport. We went by the visitor center and explained why we didn’t have all stamped. The lady was quite impersonal and stated we needed 5 stamps period. All we wanted were a couple of T-Shirts for our grandkids. We have spent a good amount of money in Vicksburg and have enjoyed our stay. The T-Shirts are not important but the hospitality and attitude are.

10 out of 10 recommend stopping by if you are in town and they have a show. The cast is always amazing! It's a family fun activity that keeps everyone entertained without the need for a screen. It's just a good old-fashioned theater show.
Life P — Google review
I was visiting family in Vicksburg with my wife, and my daughter asked if we liked plays. Sure we said, why? She suggested we all go see "Gold in the Hills", put on by the local theatre group. We went. What a hoot! We laughed, we sang, we went boo and hiss over and over. We pretended to swoon when Nell appeared. Patrons told us "Nell is my cousin, I know the boy playing Little Tommy." We cheered for John Dalton, more than once. Old Kate hobbles around the stage but she can dance up a can can when money is involved. The can can dancers put on quite a show too, and, showed us their cans. It was great fun and a enjoyable evening. I wished we lived in town to see more of their productions.

Thank you for a wonderful evening of singing and laughter. A few weeks ago we traveled over to Vicksburg from Naples Fla. during our winter vacation from Nags Head, NC. Our family visit, always wonderful, was outstanding due to our evening entertainment attending "Gold In The Hills". Both our parents married in 1936 ....when this play was first performed. My Dad who was born in 1906 would sing all of those "old songs" much to embarrassment us kids!! Even, "When you wore a tulip". I would think, so sappy Dad! Well guess who laughed and cried and knew all the words to all the songs over 50 years after his death .... me. I loved the audience participation and the community theater's inclusion of so many Vicksburg residents. It seemed everyone sitting near us was happy to share "my niece is playing Nell or that little boy is my cousin or I was Pete the Rat last year!" To get the chance to boo the villain and coo after the stage kiss, was a delight! Thank you all for your efforts and thank you Renee for taking us to this wonderful performance.

The shows they do are great. I feel like they at least need to do a few sensational musicals each year. For instance, Grease or Phantom of the Opera. It might be expensive, but you will also double the profits because Broadway shows are a fad again. (The Greatest Showman, Hamilton, etc.)

Visitors can also obtain passports, gifts, brochures, and essential information at the Vicksburg VIC located nearby.
The lady at the gate was so kind when she checked us in. Gave us some tips to touring the park. There is so much to see and take in. One could spend days looking. We spent two and half hours one afternoon and two hours the next day. The monuments are unreal. You are torn between wanting to take all pictures and just be in the moment. It’s hallowed ground and one can feel the suffering and anguish that the town and the soldiers went through. Tips: 1. If you have dogs, have for the BARK ranger tag. 2. Watch the movie in the visitor center. There was information in that movie I had no idea. 3. The Shirley House was closed at the time that we attended (1/3/25). However walk around and look. You won’t be disappointed. 4. Download the NPS app and make sure to listen to the driving tour. 5. There is no way you will see everything the first couple of times. You will for sure want to go back!

We stayed at the Baer House for two nights in mid-December. The room was large and comfortable, as was the bed, and pleasingly decorated with old furniture--we don't know antiques. The en suite bathroom was acceptable, nothing beyond the basic equipment. The breakfasts were homemade, very tasty and ample--we didn't need to eat lunch either day. D B — Google review
I'm on the road quite a bit at the moment, and couldn't handle one more soulless chain hotel. If a B&B looks interesting and I'm tired passing through, I'll ask if I can stay. I slept here a night and now it's my mission in life to go back there. I'm not from the US. I'm from a place with 2000 years of history. I felt at home here in a way hard to describe. There are many 5 star reviews, and they are perfectly justified from my experience, but I'd like to address some of the issues others have had, which I think may be due to certain expectations. Some people would actually be more comfortable in a post and beam monstrosity or someplace built of matchsticks and paper. THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU. 'WAAAH.. it smells funny'. Actually it smells like a church. You'd know that if you'd ever been in one that wasn't built last week. It smells like oak wood, incense and dried flowers. 'Waah the housekeeper missed something!' I took a close look at that. It's an old building with a high amount of architectural detail. Anyone can keep drywall and Luxury Vinyl Plank surgically clean, but this place takes skill. It was clean. 'WAAAH.. the bathrooms are tiny!' When this place was built a 'bath' was a yearly dip in the river. The Mississippi is right there if your shower isnt big enough. Or you can quit supersizing your lunch. Talking of which.. the facilities are incorporated into the room in a way which suggests they have always been there. I don't know if a couple of closets were commandeered or if they were sensitively and newly built. It they are additions, I don't see the join. The place is fascinating just for that. A feel for heritage the likes of which you don't see outside of a museum - yet this isn't a museum, it's a beautiful and functional space. I explored 10% of it. Just the entrance courtyard garden is like something out of a dream. Not overdone, it's not the Chelsea Flower show. It's just beautiful, charming, shady and classy. The area is not 'sketchy' BTW. It's glory days were 150 years back, but that's the authentic South for you and it what makes it interesting. It won't rise again until certain Issues are addressed. I parked my Tesla on the street and no-one even walked by it. I'm giving serious thought to renovating one of the properties nearby and moving in, but I have a business to run elsewhere. I am astonished this place isn't on Airbnb with the rooms going for $350-500 a night. I guess Americans prefer their heritage Disneyfied or maybe Macy and her partner like their lives just as they are. Much has been said about the hosts. I only met Macy, who was the sweetest host I could remember. She offered me a glass of wine then left me a whole jug of it :). I wish I could have stayed for the toast she was making me for breakfast and I hope she got my message that I had to depart earlier than expected. Keep it warm for me Macy! I'll be back ASAP.

This is a great B & B near all of the historical sites you want to visit in Vicksburg. Macy and Joe make sure you are comfortable and everything is working in your room. The breakfast is fabulous! They allow dogs and have a great courtyard where they can roam offleash.

Wonderful historic house, decorated beautifully. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, and goid WiFi for those that like to stay connected. 🙂Macy and Joe are great, very friendly and laid back. They make you feel like you're home. Macy is very knowledgeable about both the house and city history. Awesome location-front porch view of the MS river, nice courtyard area, and only a mile to downtown or casinos! This is one of my annual visits. Thx for the great times.

The Illinois Memorial, located in the Vicksburg National Military Park, stands as a remarkable tribute to the soldiers from Illinois who participated in the Vicksburg Campaign during the Civil War. This grand granite monument features a panoramic view of the battlefield and Mississippi River from its top, offering visitors an awe-inspiring experience. Modeled after Rome's Pantheon, it boasts 44 steps symbolizing each day of the Siege and showcases bronze plaques with the names of every Illinois soldier involved.
Very cool memorial, definitely worth checking out the national park as a whole if you are in the area.

Finally one of the memorials that doesn't look completely phallic! All jokes aside, this is a lovely memorial, and one of the best of all of them!
Andrea F — Google review
The grounds around the memorial commemorate all the battles that were fought there during the Vicksburg siege. The building itself is filled with the names of thousands of Illinois men who served in the battle, all the battalions and all their companies are named, along with their officers and a commemoration of their valor in the battle around them. It's an amazing work.

Definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful memorial to those from Illinois who fought in the Battle (Siege) of Vicksburg. Modeled after the Pantheon in Rome, the building has 44 steps, one for each day of the Siege. Inside are bronze plaques listing the names of every Illinois soldier that was there by infantry and company. The beautiful thing, however, is the mosaic Seal of Illinois on the floor. Because it is elevated and has an open oculous, there is a breeze inside, even on the hottest days. Right now it is only accessible by foot because the road is closed for construction. If you are disabled and are from Illinois or have an ancestor listed inside, inquire at the Visitor Center and someone may be able to help accommodate you to get closer.

A quaint independent bookshop. It has a great selection of local books and authors. With some extremely cute cards for every occasion- you’re bound to find something with an extra special meaning.

loved this little bookstore. Found a book i didn't even know I was looking for, but I've been wanting to brush up on my mythology. So excited to delve into it.
Gretchen B — Google review
Nice little local shop. They have a great regional section and sell some used books that benefit the library. The shop feels welcoming but it was hard to find specific books. The staff member at the cash register was taking a long personal phone call on speaker phone for the first 5 minutes I was browsing and that was a little distracting. I know some locals order books in if it is not in stock and have had a good experience with that. Nice children’s section. I found some great postcards. In the end I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

Lovely bookstore that was recommended by a friend for our Vicksburg visit (family of three). Wide selection, a little bit of everything (even knitting supplies for those so inclined!). All three of us were able to select something, which was nice. Several coffee shops in vicinity to peruse your purchases after.

Great book store. The owner was super friendly and helpful!

I like the interior of the older stores, and Lorelei Books feels like the bookstores I've read about in old England or New York. I found one of the most readable, annotated translation of Dante (in my opinion) and another sailing book that I couldn't get at the library. The staff is very friendly, and allow you to browse freely. Every time I go to the store I ask myself why I don't go there more often. Neat place.

Really cute local bookshop! Super accommodating, as I was able to request a book and get it in a week. More expensive than ordering off Amazon, but wouldn't you rather support your local community? Also, it's in the perfect location next to Highway 61 Coffee.

Mulberry, a Wyndham Hotel is a unique combination of hotel, Airbnb, and residences that seamlessly blends French heritage with modern amenities. The property boasts a pool, fitness center, bistro, and 32 picturesque murals along the riverfront depicting Vicksburg's history. It offers private cabanas by the poolside bar, a full-service restaurant, an on-site art gallery, and hosts regular events.
We had a great stay at the Wyndham this past week. We enjoyed the quiet room, clean exercise room, and beautiful sitting areas in the lobby. We ordered dinner from their bistro and it was ready quickly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
Kailey S — Google review
Hadn't been to Vicksburg in years but needed to lay up for one night on my way to the gulf coast. Went with the Mulberry for its history and location right on the river. It's an older hotel- sensible people would take this fact at face value. The room was spacious, my bed was very comfortable, and the water was toasty hot. Check, check and check. Reading some of the reviews I'm like- look folks, it's Vicksburg for Christ sakes. It's a depressed city economically for the most part. I had zero trouble and really enjoyed my visit, including a short walk to the rooftop barstwo streets up. And thank you to the lovely lady named Tina who helped me with my booking problem! Excellent local choice to stay!
Michael P — Google review
Hotel room is extremely small. The entire property has a strange smells. My room was not the cleanest. Hotel staff was friendly. Getting your luggage to & from your room is not convenient. Bed was not comfortable & there was a tag on it stating it was purchased in 2014. The tub sounded like it was going to fall through the floor the entire time I took a shower. Room #319 I believe. Mold around the AC vent. Not the worse or best experience.
Jamie R — Google review
Pool has very clearly not been maintained in a while, algae all over the bottom of the pool, a lot of bugs and leaves and etc floating in the pool. The bistro was out of almost all the food they did. They did not have much they could actually make. There were only 2 girls working the counter, they were both very polite but no other workers around. This could be such a cute and very successful hotel but it is lacking a lot.
Morgan S — Google review
I live here in Vicksburg and decided to have a little staycation downtown. My wife used to have an apartment at the Mulberry when it first reopened and we first started dating. The place was completely different at that time. Revisiting the Mulberry years later, I was really hoping I would be able to add to my past great review of the Mulberry. It used to be such an amazing place, but it has gone downhill drastically since it was acquired by Wyndham. Sadly, the vibe of this place is fading. It is merely a shell of what it used to be. You can tell that Wyndham has thrown this place to the sidelines, which is a real shame because it used to have such a fancy feel to it when it first reopened as the Mulberry. It's sad to see what this place has become in such a short time. I hope that Wyndham will do something to revitalize it in the future. I wanted to make sure to add that the staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful. My low review has absolutely nothing to do with them. They were great.

Pros: - Large parking garage right across the street with plenty of spaces. - Rooms were quiet (but this may also be due to low occupancy during our time there). - Shower water was hot almost immediately. - Air conditioning worked very well. Cons: - My room's keycards stopped working twice, my travel companion's cards three times. Cards are required to access the elevator so this was a nuisance each time. - Website claims "breakfast available"; there is no breakfast available at all, despite being located in an area that does not have many breakfast options to begin with. - Asked about ordering food at the "bistro" on our final night. Was told we can either stop down at the desk or call and place the order. Went down an hour later to try and order, they are out of several things including parts of what we intended to purchase. At no point were we informed of this when we asked about placing an order, and given that the parking garage was mostly empty during our stay there were clearly very few people staying in the hotel. - Rooms had no blackout curtains and very few lights. - Entering the hotel itself is not very friendly to anyone with physical disabilities. There is a staircase leading from the outer doors into the lobby, but if one cannot use the stairs the only other option is to use a wheelchair lift. - There were a few USB ports available in the room, but 2 of them did not work and there was only 1 available plug on one outlet in the entire room. All in all, very overpriced for what is on offer. Combined with the issues mentioned above, would not recommend to anyone.

If I could give it 1/2 Star I would. My family and I came in when it was a bad thunderstorm. The front desk person was nowhere to be found until another customer said she was sitting in the dining room. She was unresponsive and very inconvenienced that we needed to check in. There was no valet cart to use to assist the unloading process of our car which you will need to do due since you can’t leave ANYTHING in your car due to the location. I asked the front desk lady if they had carts and she pointed to a fabric wagon/cart thing someone would use to haul stuff to your kids t-ball game. I had to ask twice if I can borrow it as she did not willingly offer it and seemed very reluctant to give it to us. I asked if there was a better way to unload the car given it was up a flight of stairs and pouring down rain. She just stared at me. My husband and I had to come up with our own game plan which included him backing down a VERY narrow loading dock that was on a VERY steep wet ramp since that was the only way we could use the kiddy wagon/cart. How do they expect someone with luggage who is unable to carry it down the first flight of stairs? While I was waiting for my husband to back down the ramp a super sketchy guy ran down the ramp (slipped and fell pretty hard), saw me standing at the door and ran back up the ramp back into the car that dropped him off. Based on the statistics of Vicksburg I’d say he was up to no good. We had to use the “buddy system” to park our car in the parking structure across the street which was not lit. Lighting is as basic as you can get for a parking structure in a crime area. After 15 mins of my family wrestling all of our belongings onto our floor, we were greeted by a random bug killer chemical smell, both our room doors wouldn’t shut and had to be kicked to shut all the way with our luggage pushed in front of the door for additional security. Not a real safe feeling. Want to brush your teeth and take a shower? Well you better not unless you don’t mind mud/sand in your water. My advice, don’t use the water! We decided to leave at first light and had decided to not eat the breakfast that we were counting on (which was a huge reason why we booked there) due to the major incompetence of our experience thus far. Not to any of our shock there was no breakfast as advertised nor was there an employee in sight. My advice, keep on driving.
Sumer K — Google review
I can honestly say this is probably one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, so buckle up. I checked in late last night after a long day of traveling, just ready to catch some sleep before hitting the road again the next morning. After checking in, I used the only luggage cart available which also seemed to have a flat/broken tire. The entry into the hotel has stairs right as you enter, so you have to wheel your things down a long ramp into the side of the hotel. As I’m attempting to get my luggage cart into the building, I’m obviously struggling with the janky luggage cart while also trying to keep ahold of my toddler. The front desk girl looks up to see what all the commotion is about and just proceeds to watch me struggle through the 10 minute ordeal. I finally make it up to my room, unload my bags, get my toddler settled, and start to unpack some things to get ready for bed. I go into the bathroom to find a huge clump of hair pushed under the vanity, hair on the soap dish and all over the floor, bobby pins on the vanity, and just general uncleanliness. It’s nearing midnight and at this point I’m too exhausted to say anything to the girl at the front desk. So I climb into bed and try to forget about the state of the bathroom. I wake up in the morning to a piece of tape with hair and other bits stuck to it attached from me to the comforter. When I checked the bed the night prior, there were some flecks of debris underneath the covers but again, I tried to let it go. But the tape was the final straw for me. And then I noticed my toddlers feet were practically black on the bottom from walking around the room barefoot when putting their sandals on the next morning. Which made sense considering his grimy it felt under my own feet. It was as if the maids walked in, remade the beds, refolded the towels, replaced some Ken’s and left. Clearly no actually cleaning took place. I get packed up to check out and stop by the front desk to let the morning receptionist know I’m checking out. I mention the state the room was in when I checked in and even offered to share photos with her. She seemed very confused, like she didn’t know what I expected to happen. As if I should just get over the room being in the state it was in. She hesitated before saying anything, and when she finally responded she said “I guess I can tell my manager and she might be willing to discount the room..?”. When I asked if she wanted the photos, she again hesitated before saying “sure”. Then she let me know her manager might call me today if she decided to discount the room. No call happened, so clearly no one cares. If you want a clean room, just stick to the Holiday Inn because you won’t find that here.

I have had a problem shoulder for 2 decades. In the past few months Fawn has worked my shoulder to the point that I have almost free range of motion. I really never thought I’d be here again. I travel a bit and while I’m on travel I get massages. The same massage in Orlando costs at least twice as much, in DC they wanted more than three times as much. If you are travelling through Vicksburg, you should check this place out. Online reservation system is easy to make an appointment and easy to change it if needed. Highly recommended.

I had my first professional massage and it was a great experience. Fawn not only did an amazing job, she was also very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely book again soon. My 2nd session went well. Fawn did a great job of working on a couple of my problem areas. My muscles are much more relaxed. I'm making massage therapy a part of my health and wellness lifestyle because of the good experience I have had at The Secret Garden Spa.

Sandra and Fawn are two of the best massage therapists I have ever seen. Secret Garden is a cozy place with a good set up and nice massage tables. The lighting is perfect and they can sense if you want to talk or not. Fawn helped me get rid of constant SI joint pain. She has great strength in her hands. She’s great with doing stretching while also working on trigger points. I get tension headaches that seem to originate in my head, neck, and shoulders. Sandra is so patient and intuitive with knots. She doesn’t rush. She waits until they release. I am so appreciative of her ability to sense tension with her hands and then release it. I see these ladies regularly and it’s nice to be able to have these services to keep pain away versus taking medication or suffering through pain. I highly recommend them both. You can not go wrong!!

I have had other type of massages with Fawn but the Thai-Ashi massage was a first time for me. I enjoyed it very much. It was like active Yoga with pressure points. Felt good during and after it. Will do it again. It’s a must try!

The park provides an all-inclusive experience, with attractions like the Fly Wheel Zip Line, mini golf, and playgrounds. The complex is well-maintained and family-friendly, making it a great venue for sports events or simply enjoying a day out. Additionally, the convenience store and food options add to the overall appeal of this sports amusement park.
Great venue for baseball and soccer (and the fields are lined for many other sports including badminton, volleyball and football). Turf fields means you won’t be playing in mud. Food is a highlight and the convenience store makes this a sports amusement park. Did I mention the free zip line, PuttPutt golf and playground?

Extremely nice park only reason i gave one star was because i had a nasty encounter with the older lady who works at the rusty rooster. My food was cold I politely told them they tried to refry my food i told them no she got mad i asked for refund. Was told to go to market i went the manager gave me a refund and i spent double at the pizza spot they have food was fresh and hot. Manager didn't seem to much to care about his employees attitude so i guess thats just their thing or maybe they thought i was a child im 33 😂 either way unprofessional food to high to be served cold

This is a super nice complex with so many extras. Turf fields. A convenience store. Several concession stands with different food shoves. A zip line!! Putt putt. And nice playground. Very clean and very well kept. Great spot. I hope we play here again and again. I took a picture of the field layout since I couldn’t find it uploaded already.

The only thing I have to say negative about this complex is there ought to be another parking lot. There should be a parking lot on both ends of the complex, because when you have a game on the very last field, it literally takes 10-15 minutes to walk across the entire complex. Otherwise, I love the new sportsplex. Our city desperately needed this nice, new place for our children to play sports so we really enjoy it. Plus, there are quite a few unique features at this complex. There are concession stands, there's a store where you can buy drinks and snacks, there's a pizza parlor and there are several nice restrooms here. Lastly, my child absolutely LOVES the playground. After every practice and game, my son runs to the playground to play with the other kids and I have to basically pick him up and carry him to the car to get him off of the merry go round! If you have not had a chance to visit this complex, come check it out. It's a nice addition to the city of Vicksburg!!

Fields are absolutely beautiful but entry fee is absolutely crazy, no heaters, generators, outside food and drinks, pretty much only chairs and tents staff was rude and acted like they did not want to be there the food and concessions are stupid high and they run out of everything quickly then you are not getting anything to eat. It’s more of a tourist trap than anything

We had an excellent stay at the McNutt House. The owner met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of our suite. He also gave us a tour of the downstairs and the house history. Everything was very clean and quiet. The location was great, as it was easy walking distance from the main street. .
