Shopping mall
Shopping
Plaza Las Américas is a modern indoor shopping plaza in San Juan, offering a variety of stores and restaurants for visitors to enjoy. With its arched mezzanines and seasonal decor, the mall provides a perfect setting for some retail therapy or to pick up any forgotten items. While it may not offer traditional Puerto Rican souvenirs, it boasts over three hundred stores including chain outlets, the latest fashion trends, American dining options, movie theaters, and unique shops.
Largest mall in the Carribean! Lots of shops and small food vendors (my favorite part) if you're looking for a leisure day of shopping and souvenir buying this is it! I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes as the mall has 4 levels I believe with food being on the 3rd floor. Remember where you parked as well!
Kiarylane C — Google review
Plaza Las Américas in San Juan is absolutely stunning and such a unique shopping experience. The mall is huge, bright, and beautifully designed — from the tall ceilings with skylights to the palm trees that give it a tropical yet modern feel. Everything is spotless, well-maintained, and welcoming. What makes it even better is the variety you can find here. There are so many stores, from international brands to local Puerto Rican shops, plus a wide selection of restaurants and cafés where you can relax in between shopping. You can easily spend hours walking around without ever feeling cramped, since the spaces are open and airy. The atmosphere feels both elegant and family-friendly. It’s more than just a mall — it’s really a destination where you can shop, dine, and enjoy a comfortable environment. Every time I visit Puerto Rico, Plaza Las Américas is a stop I never want to miss. It’s not just about shopping, it’s about enjoying the beauty and energy of one of the largest malls in the Caribbean.
Nestor C — Google review
The largest mall in the Caribbean. It is filled with local stores as well as large ones known in the US. Be ready to walk as it is large and beautiful. From Thursday to Sunday, you go to the third floor (by the escalators near the three Columbus ship flags) and enjoy local food. There you can enjoy eating pastries, drink some amazing shakes (local fruits) and by local treats, plants, vegetables, etc. Some kiosks only take cash. There’s also a near by store called “Hecho en PR” the sells everything local - coffee, breakfast stuff and liquor.
Marco P — Google review
The largest shopping mall in the Caribbean for a reason. There you can find a large selection of brands, and eateries for all tastes and budgets. They have plenty of free parking around the mall with several entrances and exits. Valet parking is also available at the Cheesecake Factory entrance. They also have a cinema and even a dealership with full auto service inside. Some of my guilty pleasures I can find here are the chocolate covered strawberries, strawberries with a delicious cream, and the candy apples filled with nostalgia. Those take me back to my childhood. The place is ‘Gustitos Y Mas’ @tusgustitosymas which is right across Charlotte Russe if you are wondering. Are you visiting Puerto Rico? Add this shopping mall to one of your stops.
Joel R — Google review
Beautifully designed mall. There is plenty of indoor parking. Lots of place on all floors to have a quick bite or dinner. There are plenty of stores to shop from or get a piercing or tattoo. The stores are so diverse. Also, there are lots of treats to eat chocolate, ice cream, cookies, and / or coffee shops. It's clean, and there are benches to relax while a friend or significant other shops.
Edwin A — Google review
Crazy big mall with SO many stores and food options. We came here for the Bad Bunny experience and stayed to shop and eat.

Art museum
Museums
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico (MAC) is housed in a former school building with a Georgian-style architecture. The museum features regional and Latin American contemporary art and boasts an inner courtyard with a suspended glass roof added by architect Otto Reyes Casanova in 2006. During recent hurricanes, the atrium served as a refuge providing essential supplies and charging stations.
A small museum but it has some good exhibitions going on. It seems the curators make effort to create awareness of the history and culture. It reflects the colonial times that intermingled and deepened reality in this island. Although it is only a tiny sample size, it was good to see.
Marchia V — Google review
Rich, private, well kept and organized. Unfortunately the staff is not as thrilled for visitors, but as an introvert that worked out in my favor as I like to take my own pace and time absorbing all the art in. Parking was free and very accommodating. Definitely recommend. The building itself is very nice for photo ops.

Fabulous small museum in a beautiful location. The art from local and international artists is presented in an accessible way. Not a big museum but worth the few dollars for entry

The facilities are nice and accessible. The exhibitions were fabulous. On the Day I went they have food trucks and local artisans. A lot of people enjoying the exhibitions
LOURDES R — Google review
Beautiful museum! It’s easy to navigate and very welcoming. The work is very detailed! We got to see the political exhibition surrounding tourism. I loved it and wish more people visiting the island would support the museum and learn something for once. Tickets were $8/person for expats
Lashelle R — Google review
A wonderful art experience! The garden ia so beautiful too.
Leslie L — Google review
Not worth it. Useless staff, rude, on the phone all the time and even the room guards were mocking elder visitors. and... don't you dare ask anything to anyone here. Everybody will roll their eyes or become annoyed almost instantly. Worst museum I ever visited. Artwork was ok but not really for the enjoyment of career artists. Hallways smelled like pot, youngsters, specially girls, looked shabby and were making faces after my girlfriend ask questions about the museum. I recommend the Museum of Puerto Rico, not this garbage. The guy on the ticket center was really disrespectful and depression was the main energy of this place. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!

Outdoor Activities
Isla Verde Beach West is a bustling urban beach with a stretch of sandy shoreline lined with palm trees, resorts, and condos offering various water sports activities. Often likened to the Copacabana of Puerto Rico, this mile-long wedge of sand between Punta Las Marias and Pinones attracts sun-kissed beachgoers and active volleyball players. For those seeking a more serene atmosphere, heading west to Ocean Park may be preferable to avoid the crowds.
Amazing beach definitely recommend going here. The drinks were amazing and overall it was great after visiting this beach never have I ever wanted to be in any New York City beach ever again

Perfect beach morning in Isla Verde! We visited the beach at Isla Verde early in the morning (around 8 AM) and stayed until about 10 and it was absolutely perfect. We were lucky with the weather, found easy street parking, and best of all: the beach was almost empty! There were plenty of natural shady spots, but if needed, you can also rent an umbrella and beach chairs right there. It was a bit windy, which made being outside super comfortable: no sweaty moments, just warm sun and a refreshing breeze. The ocean was crystal clear, pleasantly warm, and completely free of seaweed ideal for a peaceful morning swim. This spot is a real gem for early risers looking for a quiet and relaxing beach experience in San Juan. Highly recommended!
Alessandra S — Google review
Beautiful stretch of beach where you’re likely to encounter just as many locals as tourists. Bring your chair/towel, a cooler and enjoy! There are also nearby bars, restaurants, and fast-food just off the beach. The Royal Sonesta has a walk up beach bar and covered seating with excellently poured drinks and food in a picturesque setting.
Thad C — Google review
Isla Verde Beach west was an incredibly relaxing and family-friendly spot perfect for unwinding. I recommend bringing your own towel or beach mat to lay out and get comfortable. Plenty of food vendors nearby offering delicious bites and refreshing drinks. I even grabbed a piña colada which totally set the tone; I was definitely feeling the beach vibes 🏝️ It became my go-to morning spot during my trip. I’d head there after breakfast just to tan, chill and ease into the day. The atmosphere was always laid-back and welcoming. I’ll definitely be visiting again next time I’m in the area!

Best Caribbean getaway ever, great food, great service and a bunch of Puerto Ricans ready to make you feel welcome at all times.

This is an amazing beach just steps from our vacation VRBO. THis end seemed more private - but still had public access. Rentals of all kinds including chairs, umbrellas, and jet skis. Vendors walking the beach selling drinks, empanadas, and pictures of parrots. The water while we were there was a bit murky with the sargassum but all in all the slow sloping beach makes for a lot of useable water and the waves were never very big. This was a great spot to call home for a week. Lots of close amenities including, grocery, tons of restaurants, and pharmacy, etc. Missing nothing in 5 minutes. Walk or drive everywhere - parking is a challenge.

At CAÑA, located within the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, dining becomes an unforgettable experience. The restaurant boasts a menu crafted by Chef Juliana Gonzalez, who infuses her Spanish culinary heritage into modern interpretations of classic Puerto Rican dishes. Picture savoring blue crab rice or grilled prawns while enjoying breathtaking views of Isla Verde beach—perfect for catching a stunning sunset.
While staying at the hotel, we came here for the breakfast buffet. The buffet was immaculate and full of all sorts of delicious foods. Plenty of things for a vegetarian to eat! The pineapple juice and coffee are delicious! I was so happy I got my own little coffee pot! The views of the ocean are beautiful. Our server, Elizabeth excels at her work. She was so attentive and refilled our drinks literally as soon as we finished them! If you go here I would definitely recommend requesting Elizabeth as your server! The buffet includes food and beverages for $45 and is well worth the money.

For Saturday night the restaurant seemed very empty and even no music (at least on outside patio). Very dark, it was almost no possible to read menu without phone’s lightening. Food was pretty average, drinks are good. Asked about grilled octopus, but received the raw one (ceviche style).
Irena D — Google review
Breakfast at Caña was included during my stay at the Hotel El San Juan. Prices for the main platters are at $25, juice $12, drip coffee $6. The bagel with smoked salmon was my favorite and the crispy capers were a nice touch. The Mallorca sandwich and the eggs Benedict were decent but the accompanying potatoes had an overly sweet glaze. The tres leches French toast was a novel concept but the tres leches flavor didn’t quite come through especially after the maple syrup was poured.

Jose was an outstanding server. The pork bites and cheese balls were a very tasty appetizer. The steak was cooked to perfection
Nick G — Google review
The food here is good but nothing special. I don’t think it’s worth the very high prices. Their hot sauce is good, you have to ask for it. It was good vibes, music and scenery is good. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

A bit pricey but the food was good! I tried the salmon entree and goat cheese croquettes + cod bacalaitos for apps and would recommend all of these. Sitting outside might be the move though, as they had the AC turned up really high indoors and it was quite chilly.
Angie F — Google review
Service & staff were great. Food was average & over priced. 2 eggs, 4 pc bacon, toast & apple juice $30+, pulled pork sandwich with fries $30+, the pulled pork was good & ttasty but not near $30 worthy. 3 fish tacos, $33+, again tasty. The 'picked cabbage" on the tacos was the exact same "creamy coleslaw" on the pulled pork. (Not creamy and coleslaw). I didn't understand why there were not any selection for a few local Puertoricon dishes. It would have been nice.

Me and my husband recently visited Puerto Rico. It was my first time visiting there. The CANA restaurant inside of the El San Juan Fairmont hotel was exquisite. When we arrived we were hungry and we stopped in for a bite. Well our waitress Valentina was a doll. She was very helpful and the food was delicious. The next day we decided to visit them again for breakfast. Our waitress was Maria who was such a delight and quite the conversationalist, Rafael made the best omelet ever, and even brought the omelet to the table, and the manager Edturo/Arturo (my apologies if I spelled it wrong) was extremely helpful. They offer a rather pricey buffet which I would have not been able to take the benefit of because I had a gastric sleeve and can only consume small portions at one time. After speaking with Edturo he was more than happy to allow me to put my food in a box. This was excellent customer service. Thank you, CANA and staff, for making our stay one of the best ever. We were so impressed that we also ate breakfast at CANA the second day. Of course I had leftovers in my room, but my husband enjoyed the buffet. The food was very fresh and delicious. Oh, and thank Edturo for the recommendation of the Quesitos…they were quite delectable. In addition the view from the restaurant where you could see the pool and the beach was incredible.

Delicious steakhouse with great service, strong drinks and a wonderful atmosphere.
Had an amazing dinner at Meat Market in San Juan. We started with the short rib soup, which was rich and flavorful—comfort food taken to another level. The waygu sliders were juicy and delicious, a great appetizer to share. The star of the night was the tomahawk steak—cooked to perfection, tender, and packed with flavor. Great ambiance and attentive service throughout the night. Highly recommend

What an amazing and memorable experience me and my wife had celebrating my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. I called an hour after they opened and spoke to an awesome hostess, I believe her name is Cina, if I didn't get her name correct please forgive me. She was able to reserve us a table by the next hour and we were seated in a private area that was perfect for our moment. The ambiance is amazing there. Edgar was the first one to come to our table and was such a gentleman with great service. Then we met Nashi, she was so on point with her menu presentation, and had great energy. We also had the pleasure to meet the Manager Steven who was awesome as well and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great experience as well. All our food was delicious, and now this is definitely one of our go to spots whenever we visit San Juan P.R., or where ever we can find a location. What an amazing staff, every team member we encountered has excellent customer service. Steven thanks again for contacting me and making sure everything went well ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a great time for my birthday! Nashi and Brenda were our servers and ensured all was well! They were knowledgeable about specials, the area itself, and made it like a friend who was hosting a dinner party! PSA: If you stay in the hotel and have a food and beverage credits in your package, it does not apply to this restaurant (we learned the hard way)

Disappointing Experience Completely Messed Up Our Steaks We came in excited for a nice dinner, but unfortunately had a pretty frustrating experience. All three of our steaks were cooked completely wrong. I ordered medium well and got something much less definitely undercooked. My friend asked for medium rare, and hers came out even more raw than mine. Her husband also asked for medium rare, but his steak came out well done. The server saw our plates and could tell something was off. I decided to just deal with mine, and so did my friend. But her husband, whose steak was clearly the most overcooked, asked for a new one. When they brought the second one out, it was ice cold and basically rare. I’ve attached a photo so you can judge for yourself. It super disappointing. What made it worse was that even though our server was very kind and helpful, the kitchen staff and manager clearly saw the steaks and acted like nothing was wrong. They just came over asking, “Everything’s good now, right?” even while looking at a clearly raw steak. Her husband didn’t bother to argue and just accepted it, but honestly, if I were the manager and saw that, I’d be embarrassed. The least they could’ve done was apologize and admit, “Yeah, that’s definitely not the right temperature.” But nope not a word. Just tried to move on like everything was fine. The only good part of the evening was our server. But overall, the experience was just bad especially at a place that should know how to cook a steak to the right temperature. Sadly, we won’t be coming back

Mediocre service for the “Quality of restaurant “ that is supposed to be . It is a loud atmosphere to be considered High end dining. Drinks took about 10-15mins to arrive at the table. Food was order around 8: 07 pm or so. Food took arrive to our table at 9:02 pm . We asked our server if he could check on our food , but he seemed to be bothered when we asked him. For food we order crab cakes and a classic cesar to star. Crab cakes were okay a bit dry and greasy. Salad was blend . Croutons were saggy , lettuce was bitter and dressing was blend no taste. For main course we order a chicken bbq, salmon , a 75$ steak , mashed potatoes and lobster Mac and cheese. Steak worst of all. It was supposed to be 16 oz (they charge by the oz) but it was mostly Fat. Rip off. On top it was cold! The mashed potatoes had no flavor and Mac and cheese was salty. Chicken and salmon were actually good. When food arrive all plates were hot , but food was just warm. We mentioned our concerns to a person that check in with us at the table (assuming it was the manager). He offered to change the steak, but we did not wanted to wait another hour for our food. As a previous experienced server in a high end restaurant, I would of remove at least the salad and or apps to compensate for the wait time. I did not wanted to complain so we try to let it go. To “compensate “They brought Prosecco to our table that nobody drank because it was not good either and 1 person was not drinking alcohol. We were a party of four and no where in the menu it mentioned about gratuity being included. However at the end the server included himself a 20% gratuity. On the original bill gratuity was not included. I was still going to leave 20% of gratuity , (which I did) thinking that there was no gratuity included. It was until my friend decline gratuity on the card because she was going to leave cash that he mentioned that he had already included himself gratuity with out our consent. Overall it was a horrible experience for what the bill was. I don’t mind the price , but when you get such a horrible experience it feels like a rip off

Restaurant
Vianda, located in Santurce, is a trendy restaurant founded by former NYC chef Francis Guzman and his wife, Amelia Dill. The stylish wood-paneled bar draws a diverse crowd of visitors and regulars for early evening cocktails. The farm-to-table menu showcases the island's culinary heritage with dishes like sourdough tostadas and raices locales. The restaurant's laid-back vibe features friendly service and minimalist decor with white walls and hanging plants.
An excellent wine list, sophisticated atmosphere, excellent food, and top-notch service. I wish I had a place this good near home: an awesome vacation weekend dinner. The bread was delicious and forgot to take a picture of the pigs head dish that was unexpected and especially tasty. I'd make it a point to get here anytime I am traveling to San Juan.

Made a reservation to see what this restaurant was about. Parking is a 3-4 minute walk if you can't find a spot on the street. The bar looked well stocked, and able to prepare any cocktail you would want. The food was high quality, but also lacking in quantity. I ordered the crispy pork belly with fried rice in a coconut curry. The pork belly was as good as any you would find in a Cantonese restaurant. However, I was expecting a little more for. $30 dish. In the picture, you can't see the rice as it was hidden under the shallow pond of curry. The curry had good taste with the right amount of spice and peanuts Still needing more, I ordered the fried chicken. This plate was more substantial, and finally filled my stomach. Overall, if you're looking to taste finer cuisine in San Juan, this place is it. Just be prepared to spend more to be satisfied.

I came here for an eerily dinner on a Thursday night and left utterly pleased with my experience. The service was stellar and the drinks were so, so good. The food was truly Michelin star level quality. Highly recommend it! Special shine for the ceviche and the pork belly dishes.

Went to Vianda to celebrate a special night of friendship, and it did not disappoint. It made the night even more memorable. Our drinks, En Las Nubes, Corazón de Melón, Pika Piña, and Pomarola Fizz, were crafted to perfection. They were delicious, balanced, and delightfully exotic. We tried a variety of dishes. The Ceviche was fresh and creative. The Secreto Ibérico and Pastelón de Pernil were inventive takes on Puerto Rican flavors. The Crepas de Morcilla had flavors that made me dance with every bite. The Agnolotti de Maíz were puffy pasta pillows filled with deliciousness. To finish, we had the Tres Leches with pistachio, which was subtle but tasty. Our servers were attentive throughout the night. The vibe was enjoyable, although it was a bit loud, which made conversation with companions slightly challenging. I would definitely return and recommend this place

Not to miss!! This was the best meal we had during our entire stay in San Juan. The atmosphere is simple - don’t be fooled by that because the food is top notch. Made me recall some of the places I dined at San Sebastián Spain. Go hungry and thirsty… worth every bite and every penny! We opted for high top seating by the window. The bar seating also looked great and people seated there were enjoying it. Thomas did an amazing job helping us navigate the menu and the portions so we could try variety of things. We kept raving about the Crudo for days - it was that good! Then the unassuming cabbage arrived and sent us to heaven in a speed train! The goodies kept on delighting the palate. Desert cocktail, the clarified espresso martini was amazing and complemented the pistachio tres-leches so well. Chef also stopped by to check on how our meal was going. So if you want to have one great special meal while in San Juan - this one is it, enjoy!

For the cost and accolades this restaurant received, I had higher expectations. Nothing was bad but nothing was amazing either. We ordered grilled cabbage, eggplant empanadas, fried chicken, catch of the day with mofongo, and pork stew. My favorite was the mofongo, as the garlic sauce was done very well, but the fish was a bit overcooked (better than being undercooked though). For dessert, we ordered the popcorn de sundae and tres leches. Again, both were fine. The staff, however, were super friendly and accommodating. They prepared a birthday plate on short notice.

I loved the clarified tomato cocktail and the grilled prawns the most. The prawns had a nice smoky flavor and were perfectly savory, and the Pika Pina was great too. (The mezcal base was spot on)

This place caught my eye on Instagram and let me say the hype is real ! Friendly atmosphere and the customer service was exceptional to say the least. This gem has the best empanadas I’ve ever tasted hands down ! The beef empanada was dripping with delicious sauce omg it was so good ! I ordered the seafood stew with tostones and it did not disappoint :D So good and fresh was the seafood yummm ! Coming back here for sure my next visit to PR 10/10

After I landed in Puerto Rico it was pouring, so I didn’t had a chance for days to go outside to enjoy anything. I landed in the afternoon & by the time I reached my hotel I can’t wait to try some authentic food ! So from the hotel they recommended this restaurant. It wasn’t that far, most probably could have walked but it was pouring outside lol..! I was very excited to try the Mofongo everyone told me to try while being in Puerto Rico. Obviously meat isn’t halal so I have tried the shrimp one. I gotta say I didn’t like it at all, highly disappointed! It was kinda sad & made me scared for rest of my trip to try Mofongo different place. The thing is everyone will not like everything they will ever try, just because I didn’t like this dish doesn’t mean I will not like anything else. I did like the dessert called Tres Le Che, yum! The price is on the higher side, so it made me little skeptic about rest of my trip. But I was on my first solo trip & simply thing like this will not scared me off ___ Customer service is great, place is big enough, decor is nice. Restroom was good. I stayed here for a while just to see if the rain stops so I can go somewhere near by to enjoy! They volunteered to take some pictures lol, and you know me it made me extra happy lol

This place was just okay. We ordered pina colada’s and they weren’t good at all. Portions were big but still didn’t seem worth the prices. Monfongo was descent. Highlights of the meal were the ceviche tacos and fish bites This place left a lot to be desired especially based on its popularity and recommendations.

The service was great, our sever was so attentive. The food was OK but definitely not going back. The portions are good but for the price that u got u need a good kitchen.
Mary R — Google review
OMG! Food at this place is absolutely delicious! Steaks, chicken, fish, tropical dishes, and drinks. I had an amazing time with my family and friends. The service staff made it feel even better, with their promptness and kindness.
Stuart P — Google review
Fish was fresh, but fried at low temperature which makes it to absorb lots of oil, in addition they put too much salt. Plantains were cold, chewy and dark brown which means they weren't fresh. Fish was ordered with rice and beans because all orders come with salad, and it was delivered with 2 salads. When I questioned the server he stated he did the same comment at the kitchen but they told them to take it as served.
Eric D — Google review
Do not recommend the shrimp tacos. They were fried extra hard. Snapper was great. Waiters were quick and efficient handling a large group.
Deona P — Google review
Food was great. I was able to pick my own fresh snapper that was delicious! The picture does not do its justice. My family also enjoyed the food and the services was also great, very friendly staff. We will definitely be visiting again when in PR.

Day 2

Southeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Plaza Carolina, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Museo del Niño de Carolina. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Plaza Carolina is a spacious two-story indoor mall located about 15 minutes east of San Juan. It features a mix of local shops and well-known chain stores like Clarks, Forever 21, and T.J. The mall boasts a beautiful atrium with a large fountain, creating a pleasant atmosphere for shoppers. Visitors appreciate the variety of stores catering to different budgets and the overall cleanliness and organization.
Carolina, PR Easy to get to off the main highway. We went because we were looking for Pandora and the GPS said that that’s where it was inside the mall. They have a food court upstairs and a cinema, and I noticed a JCPenney. I’m sure they have many other stores, but it was almost closing time and we specifically went there for Pandora.
Lola — Google review
Great outlet mall. Has a large selection of premium outlet stores. Lots of walking but you’ll enjoy many of the stores.
Denise D — Google review
I like the geeky store selection in this mall . Specially store number 3 & Green Vape
Alexis N — Google review
It's a pretty large outlet mall. With plenty of variety stores. From geek and pop culture collectibles. To big box retailers. There's something for everyone here. Tho I have to say, they need to beef up security a bit. As a group of teens left an actual stink bomb on the fountain. Causing the whole central and food court area, to be extremely nauseating smelly. Luckily the staff took care of it quickly. But they really need to put a stricter policy on young people under 18. Also they need to expand the foodcourt. As when my family of 4 tried to eat, during lunch hour. Most of the chairs were taken. And when we finally got to sit down. There was another family circling our table. Harrasing us to leave. When we haven't even spent 5 minutes eating. It was not a pleasant eating experience. Those 2 bad occurrences aside. We did have an incredibly good time. Checking out every store. We found things, we didn't think we would find. And it was awesome. To list out some places to visit: Store no.3, which is a crane game arcade. Great place for kids and adults. Really recommend this place. Otaku Shop, one the big collectibles chain stores in puerto rico. Sonisu, a Sanrio/hello kitty retail store. Curiosities, A mix of collectibles from japan and china. It sells a ton of chinese brand lego sets. Like pantasy blocks and LOZ. And they are all sold at retail. Aliss, it's a general department store. But it also has a lot of hasbro and other collectibles There's also a box lunch, hot topic, tj max, burlington and much much more. Also I really recommend you stop by the coffee bar, right next to the tj max as you enter the mall. It's really incredible!
Ricky Z — Google review
It's been awhile since I have been in plaza Catalina so to see the changes and the improvements of the mall was a pleasant surprise. Even the food court was far more suitable to eat at. Even with the covid-19 conditions in place, we were still able to sit down and eat a nice meal and shop at the stores we needed to shop at.

Park
Parque Julia de Burgos, located in Ave. Roberto Clemente Esquina Paseo de los Gigantes Carolina, is a recreational park offering a 5-mile-long trail along the Blasila stream. The lush landscapes and beautiful flora make it an ideal spot for families to spend the day. Visitors can enjoy walking or jogging on the track, which features obstacles and stretching stations at intervals.
2 walking parks divided by a peatonal bridge. About 12k to 15k steps. Lots of trees and shade.

Drove 30 minutes on Thursday, October 2nd to arrive @ 2pm and park was CLOSED. Google and website is INCORRECT for hours. Google address took me to pin where I didn't even see the park, but thankfully a policeman nearby told me it was closed when I was aimlessly driving to find in multiple locations nearby. Very disappointed.

This is an urban park. It's a recreational space in Ave. Roberto Clemente Esquina Paseo de los Gigantes Carolina. The park, you'll find a five-mile-long trail, exercise areas, and a small water park for kids called Aquasol. My partner and I visited the park on a daily basis to make exercises.

A very quiet park, beautiful and surrounded by a lot of trees. Some paths and benches need to be repaired or changed.
Amara ( — Google review
I walk and exercise there. Its need attention on maintenance and security. Fences are broken and there is an infection of mangostas, rats and moskitos. I believe they have the man power to work on it. Maybe they need resources. Also the water of river should be clean up. It a hazard it is full of trees, junk and it the nest of rats, mangostas, lizards and caimans. Needless to say also MOSKITOS. PLUS THE SMELL IS HORRIBLE WE THE NEIGHBORS AROUND CANT TAKE IT
Angela F — Google review
Good for exercising, jogging, running or walking. It has lighting at night although it locks down by 7:00 or 7:30. Sundays it remains closed.
Iris E — Google review
Place is very good for children. Not much so for older children and adults. The Pina colada (non alcoholic) was delicious and there hot dogs. There wasn't much of a food selection but enough to hold yourself down.
Unknown S — Google review
As of now (January 2019), the park's track for jogging/walking is open to the public after being closed for a while because of hurricane Maria in 2017. I get there around 9AM four days a week and it's open every day except for major holidays. I always liked this park and I am glad it's back in order. For now the parking fee is $1 between Monday and Friday; free parking on Saturday and Sunday.

Children's museum
Museums
Museo del Niño de Carolina is the only children's museum in Puerto Rico, offering over 100 interactive exhibits covering various subjects from music and art to transportation and physics. The outdoor area features a go-kart track, a donated plane, a mini zoo, and a small ferry for jungle cruises. There are dedicated sections for toddlers as well as older children with activities like talking on shortwave radio and exploring environmental and health exhibits.
Excellent experience and very enjoyable day. Please call before going as they do have a limited schedule and close for holidays specific to Puerto Rico.
Clinton J — Google review
Very reasonably priced and the kids get a cool bus ride from the parking lot to the museum. Lots of fun learning activities for kids of all ages. New options like boat rides for kids over 3 and a safari train. Mini zoo was full of lots of friendly animals. This was our second time going and both of our kids (4yr & 1.6 yr) both loved it. Definitely recommend bringing your kids and refreshments because it does get hot outside.
Mireya — Google review
This is a hands on museum with great interactive play. The kids spent hours running around experiencing the exhibits which were everything from music, science, tech and construction. There was a mini zoo and go carts, you have to ride the go carts!! We had a wonderful time!! I would suggest arriving early in order to get a great experience. We bought tickets to the mini zoo but did not get to go due to time restraints. Parking is about 1 block away but they do have a shuttle. The entrance fee and add-ons are very reasonable. They even provide pricing for special neede kids. My daughter has autism and ADHD this is the BEST place for her. She can touch, she can talk loud, she very much enjoyed herself here!!
Alana ( — Google review
Great place to spend time with the family. The exhibits are self explanatory no Spanish needed. Price is fair. The parking lot is located diagonally across the street and costs $3 (no shade). The go karts were a hit! They ask that you wear glasses and if you don’t have any you can purchase ones for $1. We didn’t get to go through the zoo or playground it was painfully hot out. Unfortunately, The jungle trip was closed. They’re only open Friday through Sunday. We went on a Friday at 11a there were a few school groups some locals and some tourists. Not too busy.
Romina P — Google review
The Museo del Niño de Carolina offers a nice, pleasant experience for families, especially for younger kids looking to explore and roam around. While some of the indoor attractions might feel a little outdated compared to larger museums on mainland US, they genuinely try their best to make it engaging for children. The food options for sale are pretty marginal, but still okay. The gift shop is a bit sad, but if you're set on a souvenir, you might find something. The outdoor area is where the museum truly shines! We noticed a "5D" theater, but it was locked during our visit, so we couldn't experience what it offered. Moving past that, there's a really fun playground area that's great for kids of all ages. Just be aware that it's not shaded at all, so expect it to be scorching hot with nowhere to sit. Given how hot these areas can get, it's very important to arrive prepared with plenty of water and keep a close eye on your kids for any signs of heat exhaustion. The mini zoo area was a delightful surprise! You can even pay to feed the animals, which were all very calm and gentle. There's also a large airplane to explore, but the heat outside kept us from checking it out. Overall, it was a nice museum to take the kids to, offering plenty of little areas for them to explore. We'd definitely go again!
Jeff — Google review
This was the best time the kids had here. They have go karts, mini zoo and tons of hands on activities. One of my girls has autism and ADHD, this was the perfect setting for her. I would suggest getting there early to allow time for the kids to experience it all.
Alana S — Google review
We needed to take a day break from the beach and took the kids here. The place is cool but simple, unlike other kids museums I've seen. They have other areas outside that cost extra, like why charge $2 more to go inside an out of commission airplane for a "tour" that is like 10mins long and there's nothing to it, they show you a couple things on the outside, you go in the back and out the front and that's it. And when it's closing time, they have staff going around kicking everyone out, lol. All in all, it's a cool place to keep the kids busy for a day.
Cesar V — Google review
The museum brings back fond childhood memories as it’s a staple excursion spot for many schools. However, many of the “interactive” attractions were broken or missing pieces, therefore not being fully enjoyable. They won’t return your money if it rains and you’re yet to use the track racing tickets. Their plane walk-through is scheduled bi-hourly (every half an hour) at the front of the museum. Some museum clerks were unaware of some exhibition data when asked; nonetheless, it was still enjoyed by my nephew. (Beware of the prices, which are quite high and there’re hidden fees as well!)

Pimentón is a hidden gem located inside a gas station in San Juan, offering an unexpected culinary experience. Despite its unconventional setting, it has gained a reputation for serving some of the best pizza on the island. The pizzeria started as a small operation with a brick oven and has now expanded into a separate-but-attached restaurant.
Awesome Italian food. we have 2 plate: 1. the pasta was so soft and the sauce so sweet & creamy. (Forgot take a picture) 2. The pimenton pizza it's a most to tried....Just fabulous

A must when visiting the island. Only locals know the place is in a gas station! Always expanding the menu for one of the best pizzas around! Thanks to Karla, our waitress, we tried 'La churrásqueria' pizza. Even without the chimichurri it was delicious! Always great friendly atmosphere and service! Best prompt seating between lunch & dinner rush otherwise calling ahead may save some time. Tight parking. The best ice-cold local beer to accompany your entry! It is a must when in PR. Highly recommended

At first, you will be thrown off by the fact that this place is part of a gas station. I was going to leave due to them not having a few of the things that we were looking for, but because of the good customer service, we stayed and we had a great time.

This place is a jewel inside a gas station, yes is inside, with two different areas one is a great coffee bar the other is a pizza place. The coffee bar have a barista with over 6 years of experience, friendly and knowledgeable, that's use premium grains and different types of coffee makers to prepare it. Each one is a visual experience, need to try it. If you are adventurous ask him for his elixirs that are off menu. Different beverages prepared with coffee and other things. The pizzeria is a beautiful little place with open kitchen and a bar area, with two size of artisans pizzas, also have whole wheat pie, good offer of bottle craft beer and on tap, including locals breweries, wine and a variety of whiskey and other premium licour. Also the have salads, pasta and meat dishes. You forgot that are inside a gas station. The service are very good, friendly staff. The only thing is the limited parking available.

We did the ATV tour. It was so much fun, and just long enough! If you want to save a little money, be sure you have a face cover. They do sell them in the waiting area. Our tour guide (I cannot remember her name) gave lots of information and guided everyone safely while giving us the best time. I suggest long pants and, possibly, long sleeves. You may be scratched by some branches. Also, use sunscreen and bug spray! During the break, we ate empanadas and some kind of pork skewers. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean!

John was absolutely amazing. Caring and took his time with us. He took our photos and joked around making the day much better. I appreciate you John. I wish the company with make different booking for beginners because people like me that know how to ride was not scared. Terraplen La Posita de Piñones is an exquisite shore located in a suburban area, bordered by a protective coral barrier and boasting crystal-clear waters. This natural beach pool offers an irresistible allure that beckons visitors to return and relish all the wonders it has to offer. Street parking is available, allowing one to conveniently bring their own chair for ultimate relaxation. Not only does this beach provide stunning beauty, but it also features a sheltered pool that adds another layer of tranquility.
This is a great beach to relax in and check out the shallows. The natural rock wall keeps this area peaceful. I'd recommend water shows as the rocks are sometimes sharp and they occasionally house sea urchins.

Must Visit Place in PR! This beach is a beautiful hidden gem! It features a natural coral rock wall that creates a calm, protected pool away from the waves, with a maximum depth of about 5-6 feet near the wall. You can also find plenty of shells along the shore. We enjoyed walking in the shallow water toward the coral reef wall, which was easy to reach. The wall is quite wide, allowing us to sit and walk on it, creating a mesmerizing experience. The water is crystal clear and calm, and watching the waves break against the wall is truly beautiful. Parking is available across the street, making it convenient to visit this lovely spot. The food and tender coconut are also available. The beach with natural breakwater is very difficult to find so make sure you do not miss when you are in Peurto Rico

My family and I went beach hopping through Luquillo and Loiza and this beach was breathtaking at sunset! The water is like a natural pool with a beautiful fairy looking wall (I don't know the technical term but it was stunning.) The water is only waist deep and when the water crashes over the wall it looks like a fairy tale! I'm including some of our photos. This is a MUST STOP.

Waves are so dramatic and strong depending on what season are you going to visit. It's beautiful though Some part hidden has Sand Fleas where I got a really terrible bites.
Desiree C — Google review
The best beach experience you could ever have. It has best of both worlds. A beach that doesn’t go pass your waist but still have some waves. It also feels local and non-tourist. We also like that vendors on the beach would sell you mojitos and Octopus Salad.

This is a great place to spend the day with the family. But it needs help from the municipality and the government . It need to be ilumination since there's no light for a great couple of miles. And the surroundings of the beach and the beach needs to be cleaned. And the parking space around the kiosks need to be fix. Other than that is a really great place, the kids can have fun safely since there's a natural rock barrier that helps maintain the water levels low. An you can just go and chill out, also it has a great and beautiful view.

A great, clean, and calm beach. Family friend, life guard is on duty and security going back and forth . Plenty of restrooms, showers - not entirely clean but good they are there. There are rentals available for umbrellas, beach chairs, and 8x8 canopies.
Lisa A — Google review
Great beach for the family. Bathrooms and showers close by, always clean and fully functioning. For an additional price they have a kids type water playground. Limited to an hour or so, not sure exactly. When I went it was $4 but prices can change. Plenty of parking. You can also rent pop up canopies, beach umbrellas and beach lounge chairs. They will go to the spot of your choice and set it up so that it will not blow away. I do recommend some type of shade as not very much.

By far not the best beach we visited whilst in Puerto Rico, but our first beach. And it was amazing. All were amazing. This one was quiet, didn’t have any cafes or bars on it but the water was beautiful, the sand clean, and there were shelters should you require them.
Robbie T — Google review
Bathrooms (that were clean), showers, chair and umbrella rentals ($5/chair and $15/umbrella), lifeguards, and security! Who knew you could find all these things in one beach?!? This beach was wonderful, and I expect to return! The only complaint I have is that you have to buy drinking water; there are no fountains.

Beach
Isla Verde Beach is a popular destination in San Juan, known for its central location and lined with high-end hotels. The area offers a long stretch of public beach with facilities like showers and toilets, as well as a variety of beachfront restaurants. It's a prime spot for water sports enthusiasts, offering activities like jet skiing, parasailing, and surfing. The beach is less rocky than others in the area and provides rental chairs and umbrellas for visitors to relax.
So beautiful and peaceful here! Sandy beaches with turquoise water that's super warm. Great place to go tanning or swimming. Lots of local vendors and hotels oh the beach that are convenient.
Samantha M — Google review
One of the best and cleanest beaches in Puerto Rico! The water is crystal clear, the sand is soft, and the beach is always well-maintained. Perfect for swimming, walking along the shore, or just relaxing under the sun. It’s also close to restaurants, hotels, and shops, making it very convenient. A must-visit if you’re in the San Juan/Carolina area! 🌊☀️🌴
Nestor C — Google review
In the winter the beach was not crowded despite being encircled with resorts. The water was a beautiful turquoise color. There were chairs and umbrella rentals available. We got coconut milk, a pineapple drink, and grilled chicken from a food stand there on the beach. A lovely place even with rain clouds passing by.
Ashley N — Google review
Isla Verde Beach offers a pleasant experience with small waves and an impressively long shoreline, perfect for relaxing walks. Free bathrooms and showers add convenience, while paid parking and gazebos are available for those seeking extra comfort. Lifeguards are on duty, providing an added sense of safety. The beach tends to be calmer near the water park area, making it ideal for families or those seeking tranquility. One unique feature is its proximity to the airport, where you can enjoy the sight of planes taking off—a fun touch to the atmosphere

Nice walk down the whole of Isle Verse beach! Rested under a palm, check for ripe coconuts! Local bar called Lifeguards is good for a quick bite or bathroom break.

Calm quiet beach with warm waters and a sanctuary vibe- not too much seaweed -tranquil experience overall

Is the little hard to find a parking but after that you're in Paradise

Relaxing, clean, beautiful beach. Restaurants and bars all a short stroll away. Coconut drinks and snacks sold in the sand. Waverunners for rent. And lounges. A guy wraps a rope around the palm trees then shimmies his way to the top, dropping coconuts to the sand below. Then he lips off the top with his machete, inserts a straw, and sells them for $5 apiece. We spend hours here.

Beach
Nestled in the vibrant Isla Verde area of Puerto Rico, Hobie Beach is a delightful haven for beach lovers and dog owners alike. This stunning stretch of sand offers breathtaking views of the sea, making it an ideal spot to unwind away from the bustling crowds. Visitors can bask in the sun on its pristine shores or opt for chair and umbrella rentals to enhance their experience.
I was very impressed with this beach. Not too busy or overly crowded. No excessive loud music. Only the sounds of waves and the occasional jet ski. The beach was clean and the sea was richly turquoise. There are options to rent beach chairs for $10 and a umbrella for $4. Cash only of course. Just bring a towel and lay on the shore. No bathrooms or showers or fountains to clean your feet of sand. Also, there are many restaurants and bars along the coast within a 10-minute walk

Great beach, turquoise water ..Rented chairs and an umbrella for $25 paid using Venmo ..We saw dolphins every morning off of our balcony ( we think they were dolphins but some sort of sea life)

Beautiful beach and isn’t too busy, even on Fridays. It was clean and vibrant always with people selling margs, shaved ice and empanadas. On a Saturday morning it was quiet and peaceful, almost felt like a private beach.

Absolutely stunning beach!!! Photos and videos won't do it justice. Loved everything from the breeze, the clear skies, the sand, and the water! It's the perfect place to take a dip, stroll, or even enjoying a seat and taking the sun in! Ideally best to arrive in the morning (and also please don't forget to wear/reapply good sunscreen or you'll end up with a bad sunburn like some people in our group had gotten).

Beautiful beach. Not too packed. The chair and umbrella rental was super convenient and affordable. Chair was $15 and umbrella was $5.

I love this beach! My grandmother owns a condo right on this beach, so I come here a lot. The water is warm and my dog loves to walk on the beach with me. There are almost no currents and the beach is always reasonably crowded so it's safe to go into the water. There is a section with ropes so if you get caught in a current you can hold on the those. Highly recommended beach!
Jacobine — Google review
Great beach! Water was nice and warm at the end of October. The beach was clean and not too busy. Felt totally safe leaving my belongings by my towel. Oh, and for anyone wondering, google sent me those socks for being a local guide and I wanted to wear them while doing a review. Socks are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful beach, tranquil calm waves, and lots of palm trees for shade. The water is warm but cool enough to still be refreshing and the waves weren’t rough. You can easily find beach chairs and umbrellas everyday from the locals at a great price as well as freshly made drinks out of coconuts, pineapples and watermelons. Some iguana spottings and plenty of options for places to stay and places to eat right on the beach or within 3-10 minutes walking distance

Guests rave about the delicious curry chicken, which is cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice and sauce. We visited Christmas eve. Great food and super tasty. we always come here when in Isla Verde. The food is always fresh and tasty. The menu has a big variety and prices are average for the portions. The service can be better. They were busy and had A huge party of 18 to attend so they forgot about the table for 2 but food was excellent we had what we wanted.

5 Stars without a doubt! The food was fresh, hot & absolutely delicious. Took a chance after reading other reviews & Kintaro did not disappoint. Friendly staff with prompt service. Prices are comparable for the quality of food & area. Only wish portion size was bigger because we could have easily eaten more! The fried cheesecake was the best I've ever had. Our $90 bill (tip included) covered sushi roll, 3 entrées with drinks & 1 dessert.
Wilba S — Google review
I was basic and went with the General Tso. It was hot and tasty. No complains. The blended mango juice was amazing! If that wasn't fresh fruit, it was high-quality mango puree. It was so good, I went back for just that to go, but they were unable to provide me with one. Which leads me to believe it was fresh fruit. The waitress was prompt and polite. The location was clean and cozy. The air conditioning was way too high for comfort, in my opinion. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I'd recommend and return. Enjoy.

We really enjoy sushi. We ordered what we normally eat. Shrimp and avocado roll; not much flavor at all, just tasted fried. Spicy tuna roll; not much flavor. The eel roll had the most flavor.

Place is small but very cozy, the serving is amazing! I Order crazy Roll, that baby was HUGE!!!! Edamame and Miso soup. Place doesn't have parking but they do have FREE Valet parking which compensates for it. 1 unisex bathroom and great Drink. Very good prices.

Don’t think just go! I absolutely love sushi and can honestly say this place makes the best sushi I’ve ever had. It’s so fresh and they have rolls for even the pickiest eaters (like my husband). The staff were very attentive and welcoming. They have a photo with bad bunny on the wall when he visited their restaurant and I’m pretty sure he would not eat somewhere mediocre. I ordered the Puerto Rico roll and it was phenomenal!

MUST MUST MUST TRY THIS RESTAURANT!!! I was visiting island and came across this small but amazing Asian restaurant. Off course I order my favorite curry chicken. Flavor of the food was amazing. I order curry chicken with extra sauce and spicy. It was fresh, delicious taste cooked to perfection in curry sauce. Puerto Rican restaurant
Platos Restaurant & Bar is a popular dining spot in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. It offers a variety of Puerto Rican and Caribbean dishes, providing a taste of the local cuisine. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with options for brunch on weekends. With its convenient location near the beachfront, it's an ideal place to savor gourmet fare with strong Puerto Rican influences while enjoying the beautiful setting.
This restaurant is low key from the outside, easy to pass it by. I recommend not passing it by, you won't regret stopping in. The food is just bursting with unbelievable flavors, and the coconut sangria is a definite must have. Our server was extremely pleasant and far from over bearing, making our visit a pleasant one.
Brandon F — Google review
Couldn't find a place to eat and stopped in here Our server was quick to the table and delivered the news the thing we came in for was sold out... At lunch time. But helped us with other suggestions. (She did ultimately forget our fritters.) Short ribs and risotto was a hit with Lee. I liked my red snapper more than I expected. The salad wasn't for me but over all we liked the dishes. My coconut sangria was a first. Kind of like drinking a Mounds candy bar. Not objectionable... Just unexpected. Paying the bill is weird. We had to get up and walk to a terminal and wait for "someone" to cash us out. Odd way to end a meal. Would stop back in if I was walking past.
Chris N — Google review
Been to this place twice (once for lunch and for dinner) and the second time I really wanted to say it was better but the food here is okay… I would say there are better Puerto Rican restaurants then this place. The Pina Colada was okay, frozen base and you can’t really taste the liquor or even know if it did have liquor after request, but it was still good. However the food was okay, had the yuca mofongo and wasn’t really my favorite it was dry and not it with my fried chicharrones. The best thing to eat with the pinones, was the best thing I had there. The ambience was quiet and the staff was very friendly but they also had a lot of items that weren’t available to order too.

I really felt for the staff here. Ot is obvious they were understaffed in the am shift snd multi- tasking. Food was warm but edible, coffee made the day. I know things would be better with more staff. I"ll try again!

The place was not busy one waitress set you. She brought out the food and checked you out. The food selections were like mainland USA. Food was not over the top. We had breakfast, and it was brought out pretty quick.

Disappointing Decline in Service Standards This establishment has unfortunately seen a noticeable decline in quality. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or acknowledgment from the staff at the back, and the front desk waitress appeared more interested in chatting than attending to guests. Tables were left uncleared, and the menus handed to us were dirty, torn, and in poor condition—hardly acceptable for any dining experience. What once was a reliable and enjoyable spot now suffers from a clear lack of leadership and attention to customer service. The absence of basic hospitality and cleanliness reflects poorly on management. Sadly, this place can no longer be recommended as it once was. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Located in a strip mall. Spacious and modern. Service was okay. Seated right away, not too busy on a Tuesday morning. We had the pot of PR coffee with warmed milk. Wife had the sampler, I, sausage and eggs. Good breakfast. Reasonable.

Good food always, fast service, great atmosfere and awesome prices. UPDATE 5 YRS LATER: Literally you can d&d (wish I didn't) cause there was just one server dealing with 7 tables and she takes all her time in the kitchen, Slow service, overcook food, smaller portions and higher prices, Slow refills, She takes to long for even give the tickets and take the money, There were 2 other girl employees with excersice clothes in and out the restaurant ((when we came they were working but I guess their shift ended) bit they were with showie clothes (today thursday oct 27 2022) IN THIS COLOBOS RESTAURANT IHOP NEEDS MORE SERVERS, a person all the time on the front desk and I guess another cook and that be carefull with not overcook the menu. AND AN APPLE JUICE AT $4.60 is too much!!! And it was no refill, With that I can buy a 64 oz Motts. I will not go anymore unless someone tell me they change their act.

Great spot to hit up in PR! This burger was absolutely delicious! Do not miss a chance to try their beer. It is fantastic and full of flavor. Can’t go wrong with a good meal, a craft brew, and an ocean view like that.

Ocean Lab is a staple brewery in Puerto Rico. They have a few locations but the beach front spot is their primary and epic location. I have been to hundreds of breweries, none with a location like this. It is part beach club and part brewery/restaurant. They have 20 of their beers on tap including: 2 wheats, NEIPA, a blueberry, an orange, 2 pale ale, red ale, pilsner, lager , 2 stouts, mexican lager, sour, 2 blondes, helles, passion fruit, IPA, and a Imperial IPA. Heir beer is very good. This Ocean location is insane. Gorgeous views, DJ, swim up bar, etc. They have a full bar and restaurant if needed. Public is free to the upstairs bar. The service upstairs was great, they are clearly battle tested. I will definitely stop here again.

Sept 29th 2AM- Worst service ever. When our server first came to the blackjack table, she didn’t even greet me or offer me a drink — I was completely ignored until one of my friends flagged her down. After that, she disappeared for over an hour and never returned to check on us. I even went to the bar to ask for help and was told they’d send someone, but no one ever came. My friends and I were spending hundreds of dollars at the tables, and yet this is how we were treated. For a hotel and casino that claims to be high-end, the service was disgraceful and the staff clearly don’t care about their guests. What a joke.
H V — Google review
It’s nice and clean, but service is incredibly slow. Was trying to sign up for a players card at about 5pm, guy was busy doodling for a solid 3 minutes to look up. At first I didn’t want to bother him, I thought he was writing something important, when I peaked over it was just doodles. Ok, I can get over that. Ordered a drink through the machine. Took damn near 20 minutes before a different attendant showed around. I asked what’s up apparently new girl. I don’t know. Not my problem. I’m a frequent casino visitor, diamond platinum whatever at caesars, and I may not be a fan of Las Vegas quality of service, at least there’s some urgency to what they’re doing. The 1 and ONLY saving grace was the floor attendant Brenda. You need 3 more of her. She was helpful and got what I needed and made sure I was looked after. She was FANTASTIC. The operation overall, I don’t know if I’ll be returning to this location. Which is a shame because the payouts seemed fair

We needed last minute plans for New Years Eve. I mean the actual day of i was looking, and they came through!!! The manager was so helpful and assisted us in reserving 1 of the 5 tables they have available in the casino. I wish I could remember his name because he really deserves to be acknowledged. EDIT: His name is Mr Urayoan Adorno. He has a very hands on work ethic and I think this is the key as to why our night was so perfect. So kudos to him! They had a live band which was lovely. The table had a drink consumption minimum of $100. They provided us with party favors and a glass of champagne to toast at midnight! It was a great way to ring in the new year! All the staff were phenomenal. Including the attentive bartenders. They had a a lot of work to do, but still managed it all with finesse and kindness. I can't say enough about how great the experience was! I highly recommend this place 👌

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church is an exquisite place of worship that offers Mass in Spanish and English. The church boasts a stunning interior, with great lighting and a pleasant atmosphere. Parishioners are warm and inviting, making everyone feel welcome, regardless of their religious affiliation. The charismatic yet sincere father delivers the Mass, although the PA system could benefit from an upgrade. With limited seating due to current circumstances, both Sunday masses provide a serene and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Confirming English mass is at 10:30 AM on Sunday. It's so hard to search because most churches don't have websites and the ones that do are in Spanish. I understand that this is their language but a suggestion since we want more people to attend Catholic mass to include mass details on websites and Facebook pages. I'm sad I missed New Year's mass because none left of the local churches posted the special times and I couldn't even find contact information on an archdiocese page. With 85% Catholics here they can step up to help others and visitors attend by posting basic information

Nice, solemn Catholic Church. We went to the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass in English. On Google Maps, a cemetery is marked as the Church but it’s farther down, across a Mobil gas station.

This recreational plaza was remodeled in 2005. For me, is one of the most beautiful plazas in the Island of Puerto Rico. Every town in Puerto Rico has a recreational plaza. Some are still under developed that still need remodelling and some are ever much more beautiful. But this plaza is one of the most beautiful one. Vivid colors everywhere. Every building has its own characteristics. Two museums. Few cafes. Super market down the block from this plaza. I always come here and be dazzled with the beautiful colors that come alive. Seats everywhere. People gather here to dance, read and have meetings and the like.

Got married in this beautiful historic church 33 years ago. The building is 160 years old and has been recently restored.

This is the main public square of Carolina town. It serves as a focal point for cultural events and local gatherings. It's surrounded by the Catholic Church San Fernando de las Carolina, whose construction ended in 1870, City Hall, Museums, Hospital, Supermarket, Restaurants government offices, Parking lots. It's a nice place to enjoy.

Everything a town center needs is around this place. There are museums, coffee shops, government departments, landmarks and other things. Most of the time there are activities. Police is always near on watch. The only thing missing is somewhere to guard from the rain.

Lupi's is a great Mexican restaurant with friendly staff and attentive service. The margaritas here are fantastic and definitely worth trying. They have indoor and outdoor seating options, and free parking next to the restaurant. The only downside is that there's no wifi at Lupi's.
Luis was our waiter. He was great! He was joyful, welcoming, and attentive. We sat on the deck. Ordered some margaritas, and delicious food. The stuffed jalapeños were a burst of flavor. They were large, and the crust was very good. The color of the rice and beans were vibrant and full of flavor. A different meal I ordered was a plantain burrito. The plantain was sweet, mixed with the moist carnitas and burrito fillings, it was surprisingly a fabulous combination! Loved it so much! Would highly recommend. Everything was great.

My friends and I are so happy we came here. The food was amazing, drinks were delicious and the service was top notch! Valeria and Robert were fun, knowledgeable and made our dinner experience wonderful! Highly recommend the shredded beef enchilada and the spicy margarita with tahini (little spice for me Robert!) Thank you for a great night!

We had a group of 12,, stumbled upon the restaurant the first night we were here and ended up coming back to watch football on the Sunday for a second visit!! Great food!, great atmosphere! Highly recommend!

In town enjoying some great company and amazing food. We stayed close by so we had a short commute. We choose our Uber and we’re next to the restaurant in no time. They sat us outside and we enjoyed the music and conversation. I ordered a taco salad and the steak fajitas. The food was amazing and fresh. Our server Victor was the best!!! He made sure we were all happy and well fed. If you’re in the area you won’t regret it. We hope to be back soon to enjoy some more yummy food.

We went here on vacation. I had the burrito made from a plantain and it was delicious, but cant remember the name of it. The perfect margaritas were delicious probably the best I've ever had. The guacamole tasted like wholly guacamole, but the deep fried jalapeño poppers were so good.

"ohh we are definitely going over there." Dropped off across the street, but the Ruckus across the street drew us in. Quickly greeted and seated on the patio. The people around us were having a great time. Our server was quick to the table and seamlessly jumped from English to Spanish to typing on a phone for a table of dead patrons. She even had some regulars stop in (good sign) My tacos and beans were a little bland for my taste. Our server provided some hot sauce and it improved everything. Lee wasn't as much of fan of what she ordered. Ended up leaving it behind. The drinks were excellent. I have never had a Puerto Rican Margarita before. But after she explained they put 151 rum in it... I am definitely going to have another. There were posters for UFC fights. Guess its a popular sports bar. Would definitely recommend crossing the street to give them a try.

Decent food, but I wouldn't suggest the skirt steak. Meat was chewing and very different from what I'm use too as far as flavor. Other options for food my party had were delicious and all enjoyed.

Guests rave about the fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation of dishes like chicken fajitas served with corn tortillas, perfectly complemented by unique margaritas such as the mango chipotle or watermelon jalapeno.
Parking was a bit tricky at first, but the bartender kindly helped us out so we wouldn’t get a ticket, huge help! The food was fantastic, honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was on point. We especially loved the chip sauces of the totopos, and the elote was also amazing. Our main dishes were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The drinks were a total hit too, efinitely one of the best micheladas I’ve ever had. Dessert was good as well. All in all, we absolutely loved the place and we’re already planning to come back.

Our last night in PR and this momma and daughter made us feel more at home than ever. The drinks, food, and service were perfect. Sirena Oceanfront Restaurant, located at Isla Verde Beach Resort, offers a full-service dinner menu from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The restaurant provides a serene dining experience with its open-air setting and air-conditioned indoor area right on the sands of Isla Verde beach. Visitors rave about the breathtaking ocean views during sunset and the attentive service provided by the staff.
This place was absolutely a gem. Parking in the garage wasn’t bad at all. Once you enter there is a casino to your right, enjoyed a few games. There is a bar in the center. Once you get to the restaurant outside it’s lovely. I came after lunch around 3p there was no wait and plenty of seating. My waiter was awesome he said I could walk the beach look around and wait for my food to arrive. He was very helpful with every question I asked of him.Afterwards I relaxed on the beach and left just before it got dark.
Takierra E — Google review
Our experience at this family-friendly restaurant was mixed, and the beautiful view was a definite highlight. The service, however, was quite slow and the servers we encountered had an unkind attitude, as we were served after tables seated after us. Despite this, I still left a 19% tip because I care for hospitality workers. On the positive side, the menu offered good seafood and international options. Our Cava wasn't initially at the right temperature, though they did rectify this with proper wine service and provided ice and water. The Paella for two was just okay; the rice was a bit overcooked and unfortunately lacked socarrat. The kids' chicken and fries were satisfactory.
Martha W — Google review
Gorgeous view. Unappealing menu. Really expensive for one of us to eat. And what started biting us as soon as the sun went down? Right on the beach. We got the seat that is framed by the sunset. Asked for a drink recommendation. 1 good 1 bad. The calamari has some sauce on it that meant I could NOT eat it. The rest of the menu didn't look like anything I wanted to eat. Keep in mind it had been 24 hours since I ate anything. No basic or simple choices. "Guess I will pass". Lee liked her pasta, but ate about 3 bites. She said she would take it to go. Which translates into it will end up in the trash in 20 minutes. Tried a second drink and the server forgot it. When I reminded him... It was really watered down as it had been sitting at the bar. UGG. Ohh well... Will find somewhere else to eat for the rest of the stay.

You cannot get better than the outdoor seating at this place. Right on the beach, does not get better. Ropa Vieja Montaditos- this appetizer was the way to go. Delicious pulled pork. 4/5 Ribeye- this was pretty good. Honestly though I’d probably go with the seafood. 3/5

I loved this place , the aesthetic, the food, the view. Only downfall was that the food took a very long time to arrive and there was barely anyone the day I went . Another thing is that it was a bit confusing trying to figure out where the restaurant was at. You need to pay the hotel parking lot & enter the hotel and at the end of it is the restaurant outside. Definitely recommend this place for special occasions and for the photos !

Restaurant
Cocina Abierta, which translates to "open kitchen," is a cosmopolitan restaurant in San Juan led by Argentine chef Martin Louzao. The restaurant offers innovative tasting menus with wine pairings and cocktails, emphasizing pan-Latin cuisine with influences from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. What sets Cocina Abierta apart is its interactive experience for diners, as it features an open kitchen where guests can watch the talented kitchen staff prepare diverse creations.
While in Puerto Rico we wanted to support the movement for food sovereignty through sustainable farm to table dining. Cocina Abierta was a wonderful experience with a vegan tasting menu option. My husband and stepson both agreed that the vegan dishes were truly the best, they did the menu very well. Nice cocktail menu as well, good service, we had a lovely evening.
Lynette K — Google review
We arrived earlier than our reservation time and they seated us immediately. The bartender was generous with his pours; the drink tasted delicious and was worth the price. Most places they charge you a lot but there's so little alcohol in the cocktail. Not here. The food was phenomenal! Five course dinner and each course was a full serving. We couldn't eat it all but we definitely tried. This is one of those restaurants that even when you're full, you still keep eating because the food is SO good!! I seriously recommend coming in hungry because this chef will make sure you leave completely satisfied.

We had a fantastic time at Cocina Abierta, we did the 5-course menu & it was a fabulous representation of elevated traditional cuisine. The wine selection is also great and well priced, and we are very appreciative of Oné who took amazing care of us. We will be back!

A uniquely wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Each dish was a feast for the senses and everyone we interacted with was gracious and kind. The highlights for me were the duck mofongo and the “wildcard” cocktail made by the incredibly talented in-house mixologist, Rafael. This was such a special evening and I hope to return someday!
Marilyn F — Google review
I made a last minute reservation here (day before) and while it did require credit card information and come with a cancellation fee, there were still good dining time options available (18:30). I loved the structure of the menu before I even arrived. You have the option to effectively create a cost-efficient “combo” by picking an item from each “act” on the menu for a $85 5-course meal. You can also order Ala carte. You can also order one 5-course combo and add a couple Ala carte options. We went with two adults and one child and ordered one course and 5 items ala carte. We ordered the croquettes, empanadas, and sweet potato naan from the prologue section, all of which were delicious. From the main menu, we ordered the crudo, the snook, gnocchi, beef steak, duck mofongo, wahoo, and cacao dessert. Our favorites were the sweet potato naan (we ordered two servings), the snook, the beef steak, and the duck mofongo. I love experiencing multiple flavors and textures in one bite and all of these dishes offered that. The naan came with three different sauces (my favorite was the honey butter). The snook had two different sauces and capers and edible flowers. The beef steaks came with crispy onions, plantain balls, and pineapple vinegarette. And the mofongo was so smooth, paired with a consume and guava hoisin marinated duck. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating as well as kid-friendly. Service was super quick - we were in and out of there in 1 hour and 15min, even after ordering additional food after we finished our first round of orders. The total came out to $200 before tip for 2 adults and 1 child. It was still very quiet around 18:30 but started picking up from around 19:00-19:30. There’s also a parking lot right next to the restaurant for $7, which was very convenient.
Ehatss F — Google review
This had to be my absolute most favourite meal and restaurant we went to during our stay in San Juan! It was 10/10 with absolutely everything from the locally sourced ingredients, to the unique cocktails, spectacular service, and the flavourful and well thought out out courses - or Acts as they are called on the menu! We opted for the 5 course tasting menu, and were not disappointed with any of our selections!!! From the Rainbow Runner Crudo, to the Breadfruit gnocchi, and Croillo Duck Mofungo - EVERYTHING was amazing! I’ve never been a huge fan of gnocchi- but I honestly could eat the gnocchi from Cocina Abierta every day without complaint!! The ambience in the restaurant is stunning — and definitely makes it a restaurant that you can go to for date nights, special celebrations or whenever you feel deserving of a treat!! Next time I visit San Juan, I will definitely be back!

I love Roberto Clemente and was excited to go see this park but, was extremely disappointed. There are a lot of facilities there however, the bathrooms were all closed. The Porta potties were nasty and full. The grass was way too tall. All in all the place needed some cleaning. This would easily become a 5 star facility if the grounds were taken better care of and the track resurfaced.

The food tastes ok but they have lower the portions of their burgers fillings (e.g. tomatoes, etc) A little disappointing. You can see the pic. A month ago in Arecibo's Wendy's the tomato was cut so thin, kind of a prosciutto ham thin. Ridiculous.

Incredibly awful service. While we were there, they took much longer than you’d expect from a fast food place. The three individuals in front of us all had their orders incorrect. Ours as well. And these were very simple two-three item orders. The stations were completely out of napkins and utensils as well.

Very slow service. You have to be aware of what they serve you because they do not put the corresponding portions. There is not much empathy with the customer. Parking is impossible.

Nice cosy restaurant if you want some Mexican food. We were seated right away with no reservation. Nice music and ambiance. We ordered the following: -Natural Lemonades: Nice flavour, not too sweet, just right. -Guacamole with chips: Tasted a bit sweet for some reason? Maybe because of the purple onion. Also it needed lemon and it had too much oil. Decent taste but could have been better. -Quesabirria Plate: Came with 8 quesabirrias and a bit of consome. Consomé was not that exciting and the tortilla was flour instead of corn. Nice cheese but the winner here was the meat. The meat was super soft, nice cooked, lovely flavour. It almost tasted like authentic cochinita from Quintana Roo. Loved it! -Fries with cheese and bacon: These were homemade fries rather than frozen, which gave them a nicer flavour. However they were extra oily and I didn't enjoy them unfortunately. There was almost the same amount of cheese than there were fries. The fried bacon on top was delicious. -Vanilla Flan: Had an okay flavour, as a Mexican Ive tried better. This wasn't as creamy but it had a nice flavour! Some food items could have been better. They didn't offer WiFi in a touristic area of the city. Nice enough for a TexMex restaurant. Service from Isai was really good, he was really attentive. Great decoration from the place.

Not really sure of the theme of this place. Wondered in for dinner. Fairly open space with not a lot of tables. Kids beach toys hanging from the ceiling? Our server was quick, efficient, and very friendly. Offered suggestions and stopped by to talk when the place slowed down a little. Drink menu is definitely the draw. Having to scan a QR code made ordering food a little harder. I couldn't get signal where I was sitting and had to walk to the window for the menu to load. My quesadilla was excellent. I really like the green sauce. Lee was less impressed with the tacos. We both enjoyed our drinks. The 2 down points... If I have to use my phone to see a menu... Provide wifi and a QR code to connect so I can get the menu. The other down point... The cockroach that ran by while we were finishing up. But if you are in the mood for drinks... This was one of the best we had during our stay.

The service was great. Our waiter was managing tables on both sides of the restaurant, but he did his best in coming by to check on us multiple times. He was very nice about us finding the right table. The first one felt like we were sitting in the sun so we moved, the second table was wobbly, so we moved and the third was perfect. The frozen margaritas were delicious. 'Tripleta' anything is going to fill you up 😂 We came here twice on our last trip here a few years ago and immediately looked this place up when we came back this time. Great location, Parking garage is cheap, Beach down the street (walking distance), and you can take your drink to go.

Hands down the best food I had during my trip to PR! Out of everywhere we visited—China and BBQ included—this was the winner. Leftovers were just as delicious. I’ll definitely be back next time! #TexasGal #bestmexicanfoodinpuertorico #amusttryinPR

Edith Cafe is a delightful establishment that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Upon arrival, patrons are greeted with a cheerful smile and cordial welcome. The seating process is efficient, allowing customers to be seated promptly and placing their orders within a short span of five minutes. The server provides excellent service, ensuring that guests' needs are met throughout their dining experience.
Absolutely love it! We were greeted, with a big smile and welcome, as soon as we walked through the door. We sat immediately and had ordered within 5 minutes. The server was great as was the food. Bacon was a little crisper than my personal preference but it got ate! LOL Overall, an excellent experience and will be our go-to breakfast spot while we're here.

Very good. Food was delicious and the server was excellent. Lisa is a delightful person and make me a nice punch with passion fruit juice and some liquor. I do recommend this place. Clean and quiet

This place is very laid back and has excellent service. It is a pretty small place that is easily accessible from the street. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Me and my wife bought the red snapper special and had drinks. The fish was cooked perfectly. This was a good experience, we will definitely come again!

The food is soooo good. Like someone's grandmother with all the secret recipes is in the back making all the food. Generous portions, friendly service and good drinks and easy on the pockets. Ate here 2x during my 4 days vacation in PR.

Really nice place! Although pancakes werent amazing the french toast was AMAZING 10/10. Only major complaint was that the food took almost 45 mins to come out. It came out super hot and fresh so I just hope it was a lack of cooks issue.

The food was amazing! The service was great and it was a quick walk from the hotels in the area. Highly recommended if your looking for local food and a relaxing cafe style meal. Also the hot sauce is to die for!

Edith had the best chicken mofongo I've had yet. It's topped with a delicious chicken stew instead of the bland creamy garlic sauce I've found at other places. I would not recommend the flan. It comes in a tin and is fairly flavorless. They could make it a little better by drizzling some caramel or chocolate sauce on top. They could improve the presentation by taking it out of the tin and putting it on a plate. The staff was super friendly. If my grandmother owned a roadside diner it would look just like Edith Cafe. It could use some updating. And the bar selection seems like an afterthought. The decor and flan-in-a-tin are a little out of place in Isla Verde. I think it takes a little modernization to attract today's tourists. I only went in because I was tired of eating everywhere else. Go to Edith Cafe for the chicken mofongo. Then go have drinks on the beach at Alambique.

El Platanal is a popular dining spot with a variety of delicious and reasonably priced dishes. The Queso Frito with guava sauce and the chuleta kan kan are highly recommended, offering generous portions that can be shared. The restaurant is open 24/7, making it a convenient choice for late-night meals. Despite its busy days, the service is efficient, and the staff are friendly. The ambiance is also praised for its aesthetics and comfortable temperature.
This place is absolutely amazing! The Piña Coladas are amazing! All the food was amazing! The service wasn't horrible, but our server was kind of getting annoyed and rolling his eyes. Albeit it was great the birthday singing was great. I would definitely recommend going. Also the bathroom was clean.

For this place being a “chain” restaurant in the area, it’s so good! Everytime we’ve come here the food, drinks, and service is great! We’ve visited two different locations, highly recommend! They are always busy no matter the time of day & I think that says a lot.

I’ve been to two other “El platanal restaurants and have have great service over all. On this day we tried the Alcapurria appetizer and I have to say it was pretty bad the dish was so hard it’s like the dough they used was not mixed right , we let the server know the issue and show her (like the video I left here in my review ) she stated she things the ingredients have changed and brought us another order , which was hard a rocks . I would not ever order this appetizer again .. not to mention it was left on the bill … My bistec was good just service was off this day .. not sure I’ll try this location again

Place is great. Service can be ok. They are quick to take your order but it came out wrong. They fixed it thought. Food is good and prices are reasonable. I will go back.

El Platanal has a very homey, rustic atmosphere that feels welcoming as soon as you walk in. The restaurant has the look and vibe of a countryside spot, with wood accents and a simple layout that makes you feel like you’re in a traditional Puerto Rican home. It’s a nice place to sit down and enjoy a casual meal without any fuss. As for the food, it was fine — not bad at all, but not particularly memorable either. The dishes had the basics covered: they were warm, portion sizes were fair, and everything came out as expected. The flavors, however, felt a little flat. I was hoping for something that stood out, especially since Puerto Rican cuisine is usually full of bold seasoning and comfort, but instead it leaned more toward being just average. It wasn’t disappointing, but it also wasn’t something I’d rush back for. Service was friendly enough, and the food came out in a reasonable time. Overall, I’d say El Platanal is a decent option if you’re nearby and want a straightforward, no-frills meal. It won’t blow you away, but it will fill you up and give you a taste of local food in a cozy setting.

We stopped here right after landing at the airport. We were seated pretty quickly and noticed the restaurant was buzzing with a good vibe and a great crowd. The food took awhile to get to our table, but that is to be expected with made to order food. Everything tasted great and what we loved the most was having the Maduros in the rice which gave it that extra “umph” if you were looking for it! Buen Provecho! The kids loved it and talked about it our whole trip! If you are in this area, I highly recommend this restaurant!

This was our first stop for food when we arrived to the island and it was amazing! From the awesome service to the delicious food and nice cold Medalla . We ordered sopa de platano, pernil with amarillos and arroz mamposteado, and higado encebollado with arroz y habichuelas with tostones out of this world.

I had the worse experience on my FIRST day in Puerto Rico. I went here with my daughter. I asked for outside seating and they seated us outside quickly. There was only one other couple at the tables seated outside. Me and my daughter sat there for 45 min and nooooooo one came to give water, menus silverware or take orders. I eventually got up from my seat went into the bar area and asked for a mojito and a glass of water for my daughter. I went back to my seat . And as I was returning… waiters sat down other guests outside and had given them DRINKS AND MENUS AND had taken there order. Mind you we been there for 1 hour and no one still hasn’t spoken to us. As I got back to my seat at my table I stopped the waiter that was just taking orders for guests that had arrived AFTER us 😩😪 :( pretty upset but all I said to the waiter was “ can someone come please take our order… after about 6-8 more min a waiter that was in the restaurant serving came out and took our order , he was respectful, kind and good waiter…. He took our order and finally got my daughter a mango drink. After another 30 min a server arrived with rice and beans and our tostones. I ssst there for 15 min before I got up to ask the hosted at the from of the restaurant for SILVERWARE. It’s like every women that past us deliberately ignored us. I def liked my mojito, Gabriel and once I got the silverware I was there for almost 2 hours with NO APPETITE. I never in my life have been treated that was as a paying customer I was begging them to take my money last night … had to ask Gabriel for a box and we took almost all the food to hotel. Giving it two stars. One for my mojito and one for Gabriel . Hope this experience helps you guys improve how you treat run the business and treat people . God bless.
