Nestled at the base of Cerro de la Bufa, the Museo Toma de Zacatecas is a captivating destination that pays tribute to one of the most significant events in Mexican history—the 1914 Taking of Zacatecas battle. This museum showcases an array of photographs, artifacts, and staged scenes that vividly recount this pivotal moment during the Mexican Revolution.
Places to visit... I recommend the tour at the museum to really understand all the history of this particular area and Mexico itself as a country. Very interesting all the details since the conquest.

Greats views from here. Totally recommend climbing the Bufa Hill and visiting the Dark Chamber just steps away from Taking of Zacatecas museum. There aren't many places to eat up here so be cautious. No credit cards accepted.
Good museum, not expensive at all. Cost is 35 pesos or aprox 2 dollars. Learn about one of the most famous Mexican Revolution battles, La Toma de Zacatecas. Inside you'll find Revolution articles and objects, mockups of the city and part of history.

Small museum that tells about the revolution war that took place at Zacatecas
Quite an interesting Museum make sure you get there in plenty of time they close at 5 p.m. and I could have stayed there for another 3 hours. Lots of things to look at lots of colonial memorabilia. They do not speak Spanish so make sure you have an interpretation application on your phone but they are very nice and very accommodating highly recommended

Located in a former monastery, Museo Rafael Coronel is an art museum that showcases the impressive collection of artist Rafael Coronel. Housed within the former Convent of Saint Francis, the museum boasts a remarkable display of over 10,000 masks, making it the largest collection of its kind globally. Visitors can also explore exhibits featuring Huichol art with over 150 embroidered pieces and popular altarpieces.
Never seen so many masks in my life! Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Zacatecas. The exterior of the museum is really pretty too. Preferred this over the Goita museum (although that had nice parts too)

It was a beautiful experience to see how well maintained the old church buildings are. Hopefully, they will continue to be available for many generations to come.
This museum housed in an ancient church displays the ingenuity of people who make masks for different occasions and sizes out of simple objects. Hundreds of interesting masks on display. Includes a wonderful exhibit of puppets used in shows as well as prehistoric pottery. The ruins that house the museum show the beauty of the architecture and well worth a visit. Expect to spend an hour or more.
Stop by Rafael Coronel museum in Zacatecas to discover history and traditions though the use of masks in the Mexican culture. I wish the museum had more descriptions about the beautiful expositions and its employees were more informative. I asked a few basic questions and they were no able to answer, but I have to say, all the staff was very polite and welcoming.
During my visit the museum had a en exposition from India with beautiful pieces that other way I would never be able to appreciate.
I also was invited to sign a guest book and noticed that the museum is visited by foreign tourists, it will be great if the museum includes brief description of its pieces in order lenguajes.
This museum is a gem in the enchanting city of Zacatecas Mexico.
This is a beautiful place to visit. The place has been very nicely restored and conserved, regardless of the historic art collection found in it. Really worth visiting.

A beautiful Air tram to a historic hilltop with views of the city, old architecture, statues and local museum History. I highly recommend a visit. Trip can take 3-4 hours giving you enough time.

One of the Wonders in Mexico and the World 🌎, you have to try the glass floor, then buy things inside the mines, try the icream from the liite cars, and the famous Tacos Envenenados mix with meat and cheese. I love it. And the best of Zacatecas the Festival International of Folklore the first week of August. Countries from Argentina 🇦🇷, Colombia 🇨🇴, Chile 🇨🇱, Costarica 🇨🇷, Panama 🇵🇦, Mexico 🇲🇽 dancing with their own music and band, you must see this great Carnival and his people and travel in the Tour bus 🚌. So amazing.

Zacatecas downtown is an amazing place to walk around, it has an amazing arquitectura that you can watch while you walk all over downtown stopping at the small stores full of different kind of products, as for example stones, minerals and other products from the region.
Small but very busy and much to do town center. Loved going to their Sunday evening food vendors path.
Very preety place to rest and walk. 2 bread bakeries near. And during the night some locals do drum walks with burritos and local mezcal drink.

An old and pretty small theater in the city center, with a so so acoustic. It needs to be dusted, at some point we saw a bat.
But in general our experience during a play was nice.

I ordered a rib eye steak cooked to medium rare perfection; it was rich in flavor and tender in texture.

Delicious, I had a rib eye medium rare, It was full of flavor and tender. It came with a nice fresh salad and what tasted like thousand island dressing not my favorite but it was good. Price was on the high side for Mexico but way cheaper than the states.
They were really slow. We were the only table in the restaurant and it took them ages to bring out the drinks and food.
They brought out entrées and main dishes all at the same time.
Food was ok but over priced .

Nice little spot in the downtown of Zacatecas, the atmosphere is super relaxed, the food is very good and comes in good portion sizes. I recommend the arrachera con huevos estrellados. If you are in the area definitely worth checking out. The service is outstanding.

Small cozy dinner right by the cathedral in downtown town zacatecas. Sit in the booths if you enjoy people watching and seeing all the liveliness of the city. The freshly squeezed orange juice was great, tasted fresh. Strawberry milk shake was delicious and reminded me of the licuado mom used to make in the mornings. Service was prompt and food was good. Need to book a table, they keep it up to 10 minutes after your booking time, but past that its a long wait if you miss.
This place it is small, nice setting but food is very bland for being "authentic" Zacatecas style. Food was not spicy at all. For drink we ordered a coke and they serve you a mini coke when their food is expensive you don't even get a regular size coke. My wife's enchiladas are way better than this place.
Everything about this restaurant is amazing! I highly recommend trying the mezcal with a scorpion in it. It’s an unforgettable experience. The pozole verde is amazing, the carne adobada de Jerez is so delicious!
The food is outstanding, delicious. The service, however, leaves much to be desired. Make a reservation and prepare yourself for extremely slow service.

My first time having Pozole Verde and I couldn't recommend it more! It was clear the place was about to be busy, but the number of reservations they had- but the staff was super accommodating and the food was delicious!

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Galerías Zacatecas, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Sierra de Alica Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Very nice place,very clean and eazy to get to.
From outside it looks huge but once inside it's not that big. Lots of stores but not big enough like USA malls. It's expensive like malls use to be. The only difference it's that they have a movie theater inside. Kudos for that. They also have an arcade across the movie theater which was fun.
Chinese food was delicious . Liverpool and Sears have good quality clothing . The floor of the entire mall was very clean and children's play areas were safe. Overall best place to shop, eat and watch a movie. A lot of undercover security guards.

Mina El Edén is a 16th-century mine located in Zacatecas, Mexico. It offers dioramas, tours, and a thrilling mine-cart ride, along with a rock and mineral museum. The city of Zacatecas is renowned for its art museums and underground tours of the old silver mine. The ornate cathedral and Jardin Independencia are within walking distance from the mine.
The tour was interesting and informative. I was lucky enough to be the only one on the tour when i went late afternoon. The tour guide (i think her name was alicia) spoke really good English and was charismatic. Went for a few drinks in la mina bar after my tour but the atmosphere was dead as the place was empty.

I can't remember our tour guide's name but he was so well versed on the history. It made our visit so much more fun. It was neat to visit.

The tour lasted 2 hours. I was recovering from an ankle injury and wasn't a rough walk The Tour Guide was very knowledgeable, courteous and funny he was making very funny jokes throughout the tour.
We were surprised how clean and organized the tour was I highly recommend it for everyone.

This place it’s a must see, it carries plenty of history about the city, amazing views around the tour, Great photography options, I had an excellent experience here.
Great and beautiful place. You take a train ride down into the mountain (a few minutes, but it felt like an eternity) once you reach bottom you will find a small museum and even a dance club! Mine is well lit and a little cool so bring a light jacket. Tour usually is about an hour, but after, you can explore at your own pace. We spent about two hours looking at everything. Tours are in spanish.
Beyond expectación!! It's the deepest and enormous mine I've ever seen. It reminds me of the mine in the lord of the rings. Very worth visiting, stunning.
The guide David Q is very professional, with perfect English explanation, very passionate, caring and humorous.
It's a very well organized historical heritage. Highly recommend.

The Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Fátima is a recent neo-Gothic church located in Zacatecas City, built between 1950 and 2000 with pink quarry. The exterior showcases stunning coral-colored stone, while the interior boasts beautiful stained glass windows. Although it was closed during some visits due to post-pandemic consequences, many visitors consider it an iconic and breathtaking beauty worth admiring.

Very cool park and during special occasions like dia de los muertos, they were playing movies at night and also had fireworks.

One of the most beautiful parks we visited in Zacatecas. We had time to relax under the trees and wonder around the area which is very scenic. Highly recommended to visit if you are in the area.

The south side is nicer, and you can walk under the aqueduct for some street food later.

There's a "dancing fountain" you can see and relax to its enchanting movements.
At night, the ambience gets a little bit more romantic: you may walk around the gardens, but beware of the couples hiding among the bushes while exchanging some, uh, expressions of love.
A beautiful and vibrant park in the middle of the city, next to some city landmarks this area is great for photography enthusiasts, the park has a nice fountain light show at night.
Nice place to sit and relax. Only thing I didn't like, I saw some guys smoking weed, in the open.

The restaurant La Bonita is a beautiful place with good atmosphere and delicious food and very delicious drinks. The service is excellent, and the food is really worth it.
After a long drive, a mine tour and teleferico ride, we got hungry. Found near our hotel too, parking plentiful. Friends ordered drinks, we got chips with salsa. Beef plates, tacos, sonoran tacos, veggies and a noodle dish. All pretty tasty. Service is nice. We felt pampered.

The restaurant has a very homey feel to it. They have pictures of old school actors and singers on the walls. We got to the restaurant around 6pm and their full menu was not available since they had ran out of a lot of the menu items. They did have chicken fillets, pork chops, enchiladas, beans, rice and nopalitos a la mexicana. We all got different items of the menu and they were all very tasty. They had an agua that had melon, guayaba and banana. It tasted so refreshing.
If we are ever back, we will definitely stop by at an earlier time to take advantage of their full menu.
Great little gem in the city, the food and service are great. I ordered the Enchiladas verdes and they were delicious, well seasoned and it made me feel like I was eating at my grandmothers house. Definitely worth visiting if you can find it.
It was one of the best experiences in Zacatecas ☺️ The owner prepared cheese enchiladas for us. They were very tasty. Plus fantastic guava juice. I highly encourage you to visit this restaurant :)
Great service experience. The owner is a very friendly guy, funny and comfortable. The place apparently was a house but now is a restaurant. It's a very typical place. Food is really good, the specialty is "asado de boda" , so if you are near, it's a must. Also it's a pet friendly place

Everything here is high quality from staff, food, service, and atmosphere. One of my favorite places to eat in Zacatecas. Best chilaquiles.
Here you can try ten different types of enchiladas and ten different types of chilaquiles. The service is the best.
My wife is a chef. She's a hard grader on some things. Her meal was not what she expected based on the previous reviews, but not bad. I'm just a spoiled eater, and I thought everything, like much of the fine food in Zacatecas (and really Mexico but to a lesser extent) was too sweet.
I personally really enjoyed much of the artwork.
And, even though we walked in 30 minutes before closing time (and weren't the last), the staff was sweet as could be and never rushed anything.
It's a cute spot, one floor above the street, and across from a square that hosts civic activity. We liked it and could go back some day.

Burritos el Güero is an outstanding burrito eatery in Zacatecas. They serve the most delicious and enormous burritos, which are made with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend trying their flavorful creations. Whenever I visit Zacatecas, I never miss the opportunity to bring some back home to Los Angeles. The restaurant provides a clean environment and offers excellent service.

Burros el guero are the best huge burrito freshly made I totally recommend every single on. Every time I visit Zacatecas I always take some back home to Los Angeles.
