Busto Tamandaré is a popular spot in Joao Pessoa, featuring a promenade with reddish sand, palm-lined walkways, and landmark public artworks. It's known for being a great place to take pictures and start a leisurely walk along the shore. The area hosts various events and boasts street performers on weekends.
Gorgeous views of the beach and walkable streets surrounding it. And it can even light up at night! It’s a very chill walk with friends or a partner! 🏖️ Sometimes there’s a feira (street fair) that lasts until around 10 pm on Mondays. They sell jewelry, dolls, and more. Some places take card but not all! At the Busto Tamandaré there are many salesmen/saleswomen trying to get you to buy photos they take of you at the sign but you honestly don’t need to entertain that. Get your picture taken by someone you know or meet others in line and offer to take photos of one another! Maybe make a new friend, some Brazilians love to chat! 📸 Also, it’s better to show up earlier in the night time than close to closing because there’s less people (the wait can last however long people take for their photos) in line for the same night sky backdrop. 🌌🌃

There is a large line to take a pick with the plaque. But if you find a correct angle, is possible take your pick without pay and any tourist face. Is an amazing seafront, with many options of bars and restaurants.

The Center between Cabo Branco and Tambaú. Very Nice, but "Nothing to do but take in the view." This whole plaza was recently renewed. It is a spectacle (good) at night and a great place to take in the views during the day. Beach-side bars and restaurants line the beach going both directions. Go! Parking is very tough. Consider Uber.
Robert E — Google review
One of best places to visit in João Pessoa.

The bust of Tamandaré is a small statue on the beach in Joao Pessoa. “So what?” Good question. It’s more famous as a meeting point than as an actual destination or piece of art worth a visit. It sits at the end (beginning?) of one of the main roads (Av. Pres. Epitácio Pessoa) in this capital city and divides the 2 most popular beaches here (Tambaú Beach and Cabo Branco Beach). Many locals will say “meet me at the Bust of Tamandaré”, especially when there’s a live show or some other activity going on in the city. It’s named for Admiral Tamandaré (Joaquim Marques Lisboa, Marquis of Tamandaré) of the Imperial Navy of Brazil. It’s a spot that you’ll probably miss if you’re not aware of it, but it’s worth visiting because the city’s “I Love Joao Pessoa” sign is right nearby (always worth a photo for those visiting). The 2 beaches are both very good and the area has many restaurants, hotels and bars.

Totally excellent... unless you are seeking a deserted beach. Great beach area, vendors of food, drink, and toys. Waves never too high, minimal undercurrent. Super crowded only on New Year's Eve. Parking can be a challenge, but a couple blocks walk will usually solve the problem.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurante NAU Frutos do Mar is a popular seafood restaurant with multiple locations across the country. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience for seafood enthusiasts, featuring dishes made with Brazilian ingredients such as butter cheese, cassava, and local cheeses. While specializing in seafood like shrimp, lobster, octopus, and mussels, the menu also includes options for meat lovers. The establishment is known for its family-friendly environment with a well-equipped play area for children to enjoy while their parents dine.
We came here twice during our first trip to Joao Pessoa. Both were memorable experiences as the staff provided a welcoming environment with an amazing atmosphere. Its not to say the food was perfect or everything is always strictly done to the book, but this place is special because the staff were willing to be flexible and adjust if there was ever an mistake. Our appetizer was cooked poorly once, and without asking one of the wait staff took the initiative, provided effective service in English, and replaced the order with a fresh batch that was cooked to perfection. It was one of my woman's favorite places to eat in this city, and now it is one of mine as well! Thank you for the memorable experiences!

Disappointing fancy restaurant, serving a rubber octopus ( looks like that is a frozen one), Bananeira plate it was much more like a soup and all flavors expected remains only at menu. Positive ponts: Good Live music and the atmosphere

Server did not have us proper comfort and waited to long for service. Water glasses are just a decoration since water was not even offered. Also never ask to serve more wine. Kids running around with no shoes, improper for that kind of business. The place seems to be luxurious but once you are inside people dressed improper. Food was excellent!!

A must-visit for tourists. Yes, all the cool souvenirs for your visit to João Pessoa, plus some really neat specialty shops. I like the coin store and my wife likes the rock shop. Parking can be challenging. But, it is walkable from the Tambaú - Manaíra boundary. There are similar stores along Tambaú, especially near the "Sun Salutation Monument."

Giramundo has two locations in Joao Pessoa, one in Tambau and another in Cabo Branco, both offering a lively seaside atmosphere with live music and great service.
Food is quite good, at least the hamburger and chicken sandwich were very good. Caparinha was so-so. This place is not as open as some other options, which is good for windy or rainy times.

Nice atmosphere, but food is pretty bad. Tried the escondidhna and burger. Both close to inedible.
Matt F — Google review
I ordered the individual shrimp (with rice and French fries) and a caipirinha. The shrimp was over-cooked, the fries very oily, and caipirinha not balanced. That being said, the location is right on the beach (beautiful!), waitress was friendly, and the musician the night I was there fantastic. I didn’t really enjoy the meal but thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.

Beautiful food, beer a reasonable price, staff fantastic, best João Pessoa.

This is a typical beach bar for Joao Pessoa, albeit a little larger and cleaner than many. They offer a decent variety of food items and have a full bar and some decent wines at good prices (that you don’t find at many beach bars here). They have live music and are open until 1AM (they only open in the evening, after 6 PM). A nice option for drinks before retiring to your hotel.

Tramonto Wine Bar in Manaira is a great choice for couples and wine lovers. The cozy ambiance and excellent service make it an ideal spot for a romantic evening. They offer quality Italian cuisine at reasonable prices, with a special "Dinner in three stages" promotion from Monday to Thursday. The extensive wine selection complements the delicious food perfectly. While live music adds to the atmosphere, some may find it too loud during dinner service.
Good food, good service, great wine choices. Lovely background dinner music. Around 9pm live music started and we where in the middle of our main course and I have to say was way to loud for me as we where talking out loud to hear one another so we finished up and left, no dessert for us, lovely quent restaurant and the band didn't do it any favours for me. I will consider going back again but maybe a night no loud music. But over all I will give 5 stars as staff, food, wine, service was outstanding. 😘

(Translated by Google) The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was very good and fast, but the food left something to be desired. The starter was a salmon capccio, which was very good. Then I ordered the filet mignon with Piedmont rice and was disappointed: the meat, which should have been thick, actually arrived as two thin pieces on top of each other, and the rice, which should have been creamy, looked like a soup mix, an overcooked and flavorless rice. The parmesan crust was barely visible. My husband's dish was a parmesan risotto with ossobuco ragu, which was good, but that was it. We were happier with the dessert, the cheesecake was very tasty, despite its hard, gelatinous texture. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back.

(Translated by Google) The waiters were incredibly polite, the atmosphere romantic, the music tasteful, and the wines were good and affordable. I had the gnocchi with lamb shoulder ragu, and the only downside to the perfect evening was the portion size – I thought it was a bit small for a pasta dish costing R$52.00 – but the gnocchi were perfect, not too floury, just the right amount, melting in my mouth. The ragu was tasty, but too fatty for my taste; some people might prefer that. The biggest mistake of the evening was that I was told the ragu would be made with lamb shoulder, but it came with beef. While I was eating, I insisted that it wasn't lamb, and in the end, the waiter agreed and gave me a discount, admitting they had made a mistake; the ragu was beef. I didn't want the discount, but they insisted, and I accepted. I think the owner's attitude in correcting the error is fair and commendable. I'll be back to try the shrimp with black rice; I kept an eye on the dishes at the tables next to me, and they were all very beautiful and presentable. I recommend the place.

Parks
Parque da Lagoa - Solon de Lucena, also known as Lagoa, is a popular park located in the heart of Joao Pessoa. It features a tree-shaded path and a waterside lawn that encircles a beautiful lake. The park is easily accessible by bus from the local bus station and is considered a central landmark in the city.
During daylight hours it is a nice park with a fair amount of people around. Would not recommend walking through it at night, maybe around the edges. Very beautiful. Often has rides and rollercoaster things on the weekends.
Miguel S — Google review
A city park around a small lagoon with a children’s playground, jogging track, outdoor fitness equipment, art exhibit space, and small amusement park. It is home to many beautiful beaches. On Friday nights, there are sunset programs starting at 5 PM and family-oriented programs over the weekends. It is a safe area, but there isn't too much to do around the area.
James — Google review
Nice lake park in the centre of the city. However, it does not feel very safe in this park. There are multiple homeless people that approach you. There are some snackbars in the park and it seems like a nice place if it would be a bit safer.

Hotel Globo, a historic building dating back to 1929, has been transformed into a cultural center and art gallery. Located in Joao Pessoa, it offers stunning views of the Sanhauá River and the sunset. The hotel has hosted many celebrities and is considered the first high-standard hotel in the city. It is situated near several historical landmarks such as churches from the 17th century and colonial houses representing various architectural styles.
Cool little complex with a nice view out the back. It's mostly a gift shop and a modern art gallery, but is a small section of furniture and dishes used by the hotel. Free.
Josiah W — Google review
Nice old building with a large collection of art inside that can be bought. Ideal for souvenirs or a piece of art. The tables are per artist so you know from which artist you are buying something. There is a large diversity of art styles. Also outside you can enjoy the view. The entrance is free.
F. N — Google review
Great place to see the sunset. No tickets necessary. Local art in the hotel and nearby. Not much to see, can do it all in less than 30 minutes. A few good bars nearby that only open in the evenings.

Joao Pessoa needs to offer an English tour. This city has such a long and rich history, so much more interesting than my own city. Yet, locals don't even know it or don't care. I believe this hotel is built on the old fortress, maybe? It has commanding view of the river entrance. The area looks very historic, but very decrepit and run down.

The Centro Cultural São Francisco is a stunning architectural gem that showcases the beauty of Baroque design in Brazil. Nestled within an impressive complex, it includes the Church and Convent of Santo Antonio, along with several chapels and a charming cloister. Visitors can admire intricate gilded details and ornate structures that reflect the rich history of this cultural site. Originally dedicated to St. Anthony, its name evolved over time but remains steeped in tradition.
Amazing place with a rich history; I was not expecting such an amazing cultural heritage.
Valdenio G — Google review
Well worth a visit, a nice, cultural alternative to take a rest from the beautiful beaches here!
L C — Google review
A massive church that is gorgeous inside. For an entry fee of R$15 (R$7.50 for students and elderly), one receives a private guided tour (in English, Spanish, or Portuguese) where someone working in the church walks you through each of the rooms, explains the history, and shows you around. Besides the altar and the main room, one also gets to see the chapel, the sacristy, exhibition space, the cloister, the chorus, and many other rooms. It was truly such a cool experience to see the different styles with many baroque elements.
James — Google review
Amazing church and grounds, an AWESOME cultural experience, with your guides in every area, each very much specialized in telling you all about that specific place. Great storeroom of history, art and culture of the State of Paraíba and Brazil.

Parque Zoobotânico Arruda Câmara, also known as Bica, is a delightful combination of a zoo and botanical garden located in Joao Pessoa. Established in 1921, this 26.8-hectare park is home to over 580 animal species and a variety of plants. Visitors can encounter elephants, lions, monkeys, birds, and many other fascinating creatures amidst lush greenery.
One of the most beautiful places in João Pessoa
Deyvid O — Google review
An interesting park filled with many different species of endemic and endangered animals. It has a small entry fee of BR$3 (cash only). The first part are cages filled with animals, while after walking for about a kilometer, one arrives at a small pond with food stalls. Overall, it's not too big, but it is a cool place to visit to see some animals.
James — Google review
It is a really cool place and I had fun but there are few animals and it's reforming so I couldn't go to some places there
Juliana — Google review
I am so torn on these places. On one hand, all of the animals have been rescued from illegal trades, so they have been given a second chance on life. The problem is that some of the enclosures are small and the animals don't seem to have stimulation. I saw quite a few animals walking around in circles and clearly not well mentally. Having said that, a nice place to see animals and learn about different species.
Dylan — Google review
Interesting and a full-on jungle for lots of it but very little actual information on the animals and no information at all on the flora. A local biologist/conservationist did say part of the redecoration process is to produce better flyers for the above mentioned. Well worth a visit for the beautiful experience and place - especially if the massive bird cage with macaws is open for you to walk through. Parking is free but the usual suspects (flanelinhas) Will be there to help you "maneuver" and expect a Real coin from you
Thiago — Google review
Just ok. If there are other things you’d like to do while in João Pessoa, prioritize them, and don’t bother going to this very unattractive, small zoo.

Open air, partially air-conditioned mall. Has an Americanas. Nice food court on the second floor. Most of the shops are generic Brazilian brands. You can find what you need here but not much more, not very large.

Beachfront. The interior is partially air conditioned, but basically all stores are. Some professional offices here too. Not quite a regional-mall class, but bigger than a neighborhood mall. A popular place with a food court as well as fine dining options.
Robert E — Google review
Its nicely ventilated, well laid out over 2 floors and has plenty of choice for food (if of course this type of fast food is what you like) slightly odd that the only toilets are on the 2nd floor at one end of the centre and not well signposted.
James — Google review
I have the feeling it has stopped on time. Used to be a nice place, different, modern, well choose to see the view but since many years ago it hasn’t improved anymore. The food area stills the same, nothing new. Not even a good restaurant up there. Would love to see it making the capital happier again.
Larissa O — Google review
This shopping mall is not that large, but has one of the best locations I’ve ever seen. It’s located right on the beach in Joao Pessoa, the capital of the Brazilian State of Paraiba. They have a movie theater and a gym that looks right out at the ocean; there are a number of fast-food restaurants (including Pizza Hut, Burger King & Subway) and 2 restaurants with table service (also with views of the ocean). Parking is outdoors and only costs about $1.25 (R$6). They have security at the entrances so safety is not an issue. I come here every once in a while because it’s such a beautiful location. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth checking out.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious burger experience, look no further than LAÇA BURGUER MAG SHOPPING. This spot is perfect for satisfying your hunger without breaking the bank. Their standout dish, the LAÇA BURGUER Especial, features a delightful combination of chicken and beef patties topped with cheese, egg, ham, corn, and fresh salad—an explosion of flavors in every bite!

I wanted to come here because I ate at their restaurant located in Recife Airport and it was fabulous. Unfortunately, this one was not as good. Laça Burguer is a small fast-food restaurant chain in the northeast of Brazil. This one is located inside the MAG Shopping mall. Their menu offers many different types of burgers and you can choose from three types of bread for your bun (at least what it says on the menu). This particular location does not offer that, nor do they have the wonderful French fries that I ate at their other location (they have some mediocre frozen fries). This location also does not offer the entire burger menu—but only a few different burgers. Is their food better than Burger King? Sure, but that’s not hard to do. If they had the same menu offerings that their other location has, I would say that it was worth going out of your way to dine here. As it is, it’s just a slightly better-than-average fast-food joint.

The atmosphere here is has good vibes and a cozy ambiance. The drinks were great and well-crafted. Based on all the glowing reviews and local recommendations, we came in with high hopes, but unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, so we’re open to giving it another shot. Worth visiting for the live music and great service.

I’m returning to this place after a long time. It was a great surprise to see they’ve survived to the whole of the pandemic horrible times that the hospitality industry faced all over the planet. The food is still very good. The margarita was perfect. The service, from the manager to the waiter, was impeccable. Also, the live music got so much better with a great variety of acoustic famous rock songs/ballads very well sang. If you’re around Joao Pessoa, give yourself a go. It’s worthy.

(Translated by Google) NEGLIGENT OWNER: During my visit, I noticed two serious problems: 1. Store Service • Only one cashier at the register during lunchtime, inside a shopping mall. • The cafeteria was empty and seemed unprepared. • The cashier even encouraged customers to pay only in cash, claiming that card was slower. This is unacceptable in 2025, especially in a shopping mall. 2. Bob's App • The app doesn't allow you to complete your purchase directly from within. It only generates coupons and redirects you to the website, disrupting the experience. • I've made purchases through the website, but the experience is outdated and inconsistent with the app. • It's high time Bob's modernized its system and allowed direct ordering through the app, eliminating this bureaucracy. Suggestion: The chain urgently needs to review its staffing during peak hours and modernize its digital system. Customers cannot be pushed towards cash as their only option, nor can they have such a confusing digital experience. 2.

What a mall! Amazing place for the family. It's all family friendly with even Karting and cinema in the same building! Amazing!. There is a game station, bowling, shooting center, a big inflatable castle for the children to play, etc. Loads of restaurants and the typical shops. All in all a must-go mall. I'm impressed with the quality of the service, how clean is everything and how accessible and family friendly the installations are. I've been to many malls around the world and I've never seen anything like it.
Jordi C — Google review
The mall is neither an innovative place nor does it provide savings of any kind. All stores can be found in any other mall or single store in the city. Escalators are positioned to force you passing as much of the mall as possible, rather than allowing you to quickly reach a store.
Stephan D — Google review
basic, plain, usual mall stores nothing interesting. the usual mall prices. too huge of a building for that amount of people. so much space not occupied. and too few stores.i can imagine . middle of nowhere, only come and go in cars to basically see the structure. i got bored there
Onagi S — Google review
This is the newest shopping mall in the city of Joao Pessoa, but not my favorite. The mall is owned by the same folks that own the largest shopping mall in the area (Manaira Shopping). That explains the similarity in looks. This one has a very large parking lot, but no covered parking. There are also less stores available than Manaira Shopping; the food court is similarly limited, offering no upscale dining options (only fast-food). If you live nearby, it’s a good option, but overall, the better option for shopping, entertainment and dining is Manaira Shopping.
Edward D — Google review
Although with a similar offering of stores to the city's other malls it is a far more impressive location and has a good food court

Located at the easternmost point of the Americas, the Cabo Branco Lighthouse is a 1972 winged structure that offers breathtaking panoramic views. It symbolizes the extremity of the continent and is where the sun rises first in South America. Visitors can enjoy stunning vistas of the lighthouse, Solon de Lucena Park, Tambau Beach, and even experience an evening serenade to Ravel's Bolero at Praia do Jacare.
Tourist attraction with kiosks all around selling things. Nice lighthouse and surrounding area. There is not that much to see, but it worth going to once. Technically the most eastern point in all of the hemisphere/Americas.
Miguel S — Google review
It's a super important spot, the very oriental point of the American continent and unfortunately its kind of abandoned. There's a park with some very tourist shop... nothing special. I think local government should take care of that important spot of the continent.

The lighthouse seems inoperational and despite being marked as open, there's no way to enter. While the location and view spot is cool, as it is the Easternmost point of the Americas, I wish there was more to see here.

The Cabo Branco Station - Science, Culture and Arts is a must-visit museum in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. Designed by the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, it opened in 2008 and offers a fascinating free tour with the option to explore exhibitions. The station also features a planetarium that visitors can enter for free. Situated near the Cabo Branco Lighthouse, this iconic landmark marks the easternmost point of the Americas where the sun rises first on its beaches.
A great place. You can see art, culture and technology.

Classic example of big Brazilian public work. Once the big investment is done (the propina ends and a big opening celebration), then starve the project for maintenance. It is not hopeless yet, but nearly nothing was open or in good condition. Hurrah! There were two maintenance workers. The observation deck was open and that's about it. I hear it used to be great.

Cabo Branco Beach is a popular destination known for its long sandy stretch, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Nice beach, but apparently the water is not so clean because the sewage system is directly dumping contaminated water in it. This is especially not pleasant during high tide and is also not very healthy. The beach is beautiful with many stands along the way of the beach.
F. N — Google review
Cabo Branco and Tambaú are among the best beaches in the Northeast. No, not the prettiest, but for a place to just enjoy the beach, they are hard to beat. Relatively safe water, not too rough. Many quiosques offer food and drinks. For more youthful excitement, go North to the Intermares Beach where you will often find surfers. Thus, it is windier and rougher, but there is much more boating activity to watch.

Cabo Branco Beach is possibly the best beach in the city, mostly because of the infrastructure in the area: there are many hotels, beach bars, restaurants of all types (from pizza joints to fine dining establishments); you can rent bicycles to ride on the dedicated bike path that runs all along the coast of Joao Pessoa to Cabedelo. If you are a sun worshipper, you can rent a beach chair and an umbrella and sit on the golden sand, looking at the beautiful turquoise water that’s always warm. Cabo Branco Beach is flanked by 2 other beaches: Tambaú Beach and Seixas Beach which is where the easternmost point of the Americas is located. There are a lot of reasons to visit this beach and I highly recommend you come.

There is only one place to sit that is interesting to eat. The owner's restaurant sits before it and keeps talking on the phone, swearing who sits at this place, in order to make the place available for the others to come: so he starts swearing again. To swear, he uses his phone as if he was making a one-thousand minute phone call. The waiters obviously know about it and do not bother the owner.

We ordered the grilled fish, which is the speciality of the restaurant. Service was good and fast, but the food was not the best I ever had. Missed some seasoning. Price is higher compared to other restaurants and the food doesn't really make up to it. Good view though if you're at the restaurant at the beach (they have 2 locations)

With over 50 dishes on the menu, including seafood, fish, meats, and various salads, there's something for every palate.
Visited from Toronto, Canada. This restaurant is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious, with such great seafood variety. The service is great with food coming fast. You also top all this off with a great view of the ocean. Definitely a restaurant to visit!

Great fancy place. Might be one of the best in Joao Pessoa. Their menu is vast, but mostly focused on sea food. The dishes are huge, no doubt one dish can serve two people, if you do not eat too much. Prices are high, but as expensive as any other fancy place in town, yet it is less expensive than restaurants in São Paulo and Rio. Service is helpful and friendly. If you have got allergies, they adapt and assist you.

High quality seafood restaurant in João Pessoa. Dishes are expensive by local standards. However the setting and food make it worth the price. Good for celebrating a special occasion like an anniversary.

Hugely disappointing! I called ahead to make sure reservation wasn’t necessary and was told it wasn’t. Jumped into a taxi and when we arrived there were no tables left but some reservations. I questioned the Maitre who was indifferent and he said to wait until the reservation dropped at 1pm. We ordered the Camembert which came cold. The chicken then arrived under cooked and during my meal the AC started dripping on me. Everything that could’ve gone wrong did and the Maitre couldn’t care less. No apology, simply turned the AC off and that was it. It’s still dripping as I write this. Had high expectations but very honestly, nothing special in terms of food. The waiter was exceptional however and was very apologetic and even offered a courtesy dessert. Perhaps the Maitre could learn a thing or two from his staff.

The best seafood restaurant in Joao Pessoa. Likely the best restaurant overall. Many items served are an absolute delight. "How did they make it so good?" For the best luck, avoid Mondays or busy nights when the kitchen staff gets overloaded. Cocktails are not the best, but OK. Get there early if you want the oceanside seats. Reservations for busy times - or if you are not early! You can eat there for under $R100 each by avoiding expensive drinks, appetizers and desserts.

Buffet restaurant
Restaurante Mangai is a traditional establishment in Joao Pessoa, with branches in other Brazilian cities. The rustic ambiance and diverse buffet and juice options make it a popular choice. The menu features a wide range of dishes such as different types of rice, salads, Carne de Sol com Nata, feijoada, Baiao de Dois, fish, cassava, and queijo de coalho.
A traditional Brazilian restaurant where one pays by the 100g of food one takes from a buffet. There are plenty of options and lots to eat. They have an interesting system where upon entering, you're handed a card. That card record the total weight each time one gets food. Before leaving, one needs to pay off the money on the card. Overall, a fun experience with lots of good things to eat.
James — Google review
I recently visited Mangai João Pessoa and absolutely loved the experience. The décor and vibe truly evoke the spirit of Northeastern Brazil—rustic wooden tables, vibrant artwork, and relaxed music make for a beautifully cozy meal. As someone who appreciates vegetarian and vegan dining, I was pleased to find a thoughtful selection of vegetable-based sides, salads, stews, and even the delightful local dessert called cartola. The buffet-by-weight format gives you the freedom to build a colorful, flavorful plate at a fair price. While the venue offers local meat and fish dishes, there’s still plenty of choice for plant-based diners. Overall, it’s a warm, welcoming, and atmospheric spot to savor regional flavors—even without animal protein. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy ambiance and flexibility in your meal! I paid 99 reais/kg. We went on 28-29 Juy 2025

I have eaten here for 20+ years. Although food is still very good unfortunately the service has gone very bad. Orders don't only take a very long time, but orders are also getting forgotten. But as long as the food keeps its standard I'll keep coming.

We had a large family group and everyone was very happy. You choose what you want from over 100 items and pay a flat rate per 100g of food. Drinks are separate but very reasonable. Pomegranate juice was made there and amazing. Get the jar (pitcher) because one glass isn’t enough!
Scott L — Google review
Everyone recommends this place. Really wish the food was a tad better for the price, but I understand because of its buffet nature and the amount of people that there is some dip in quality. It is one of the nicer buffet places in the city. I would recommend to other people, but not enough to bring every visitor to the city here. Service was kind and the atmosphere was happy.

(Translated by Google) I didn't like it. It really must be a matter of taste because I find a lot of praise in the reviews but unfortunately I didn't find anything like what they say: "the best hot dog in the city". I think you need a lot for such a "title". I've been to two of their units and I find the meat tasteless, without salt, and the size does not correspond to what is charged. I want to point out that I liked the mayonnaise and the grated cheese. (Original) Eu não gostei. From expertly crafted main courses to decadent desserts, every meal at The W is a true indulgence for the senses. You'll fall in love with their artisanal cuisine, which uses only fresh ingredients.
An excellent dining experience! We enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. The music was perfect for the setting and everything was beautiful. The restaurant is fancy, but the prices are nothing outrageous. the appetizer was perfect. Both pasta dishes were good, but the sauces were a little bit too thick with a lot of oil. I still recommend coming here and think I need to try more things to know for sure if that is a consistency with all the food.

The W is a very good restaurant in Joao Pessoa. It is a kind of a fancy place, but with fair prices, not that expensive. Their menu is vast, loads of options you gonna find there: sea food, beef meat, chicken, fish, and also pasta and risotto. Still, although good, their food was not outstanding, as it seems to be at first glance; I am sure they can improve, they have the structure to do so. Still, it is a good place to go. Staff is really helpful. Eder attended us there really well. At nights, they have a piano solista playing there, this creates a good atmosphere.

The food was great! They improvised and made a fantastic dish when I told them I was vegetarian. Observation deck
A scenic overlook with amazing views of the ocean, Mirante SkyBeach is a great place to take in the sights and sounds of waves crashing on the shore. There are also plenty of picnic tables and chairs for visitors to relax in, making it a great spot for day trips or weekend getaways.
This observatory is on the 51st floor, which doesn’t sound that high, but it’s one of the tallest buildings in the city and it sits on a high neighborhood. This is also the only observatory in the city, so it’ll have to do. It’s actually very nice—with observation decks on 2 floors. From the top of this building, you can see all of the beaches of the city below, as well as the easternmost tip of South America. It’s quite beautiful and the entry fee is very reasonable (R$20, or about $4 US). The other really good thing about coming to visit Sky Beach is that after you've spent as much time as you’d like here, you can go down 1 more floor to visit Sky Bar, where they have indoor and outdoor seating, a large cocktail menu, as well as a decent little food menu. If you live in the area or are just visiting, it’s definitely worth a visit—I highly recommend it!

JOHN'S Grill Wine Salad offers a nice overall experience with an Altiplano ambiance that extends from the outside into the restaurant, which is a rare find in Brazil. The high-glass windowed area provides great outside views. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for this class of restaurant. While drinks can be expensive, taking advantage of the half-price Happy Hour can help manage costs. Despite being on a holiday Thursday, it wasn't too crowded.
Nice place overall. The Altiplano ambience flows from the outside into the restaurant - something too often ignored in Brazil. The restaurant is in a high-glass windowed area, making for nice outside views. Food was tasty and priced consistent with this restaurant class. Drinks are pricey, so consider half-price Happy Hour. Not too busy for a holiday Thursday though.

This steakhouse has been open for only about 5 months. The restaurant is located in a lovely building in the neighborhood of Altiplano in João Pessoa. They have floor-to-ceiling windows and a large open dining area. In my opinion, their menu is quite limited, but if you don’t visit often, there are enough choices, including several vegan dishes (more than I’ve seen at most steakhouses). We tried their onion rings for an appetizer and they were just OK. They offer several steaks for two as a main course option. They come with the choice of 2 side dishes. We selected the prime rib, rare. It was cooked to our chosen doneness; it was tender (although I’ve had better), but I would’ve liked if it were cut thicker. They have cheesecake on the menu, but it wasn’t available when we dined, so we just finished with a Licor 43 and an espresso. Our waiter Alisson (a male name in Brazil) was a very good server. He told us that on Saturdays they have feijoada and all-you-can-drink Volupia cachaça too (for me, that makes it worth it all by itself). Overall, it was a very good (not great) dining experience & I might give it another try soon.

Bar do Cuscuz in João Pessoa is a popular and lively restaurant with a 50-year tradition, offering a delightful garden setting with stunning sea views. It's well-known for serving delicious meat and seafood dishes, making it a must-visit spot for both tourists and locals. The restaurant also features an expansive kids' area with various activities like slides, trampolines, and more, providing ample space for children to play all day.
Very good food, perfect environment, great place to enjoy a good food, watch a game a drink a cold beer. I love it

The place is over priced. They charge you over every little thing they do. If your kid goes play, they charge you. Charge you for the band even if you don’t like it. Charge for the park. Food is so expensive. Music is really loud. It hurts your ears

We went to BDC (Bar do Cuscuz) in João Pessoa in July 2025 at night. It’s a nice spot with a lively atmosphere, welcoming couples, families, and groups of friends. The reception was quick and efficient in finding us a table. Service: The staff is friendly and attentive. However, there are some points that could be improved: • Orders are still managed with paper slips; using an app or digital system would make the process faster and more organized. • Starters should ideally arrive before the main dishes, but ours came almost at the same time. • Waiters sometimes wander around looking for the right table to deliver the orders. Better table signage or numbering could help. Menu and dietary options: Unfortunately, there are no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu. Even the salads come with meat by default, and while you can request them without it, you’ll still be charged the full price. There’s also little attention given to allergens, such as dairy, which are not clearly indicated on the menu. Noise: The place gets quite loud, and installing acoustic panels or ceiling sound dampeners would make conversations much more pleasant. Kitchen and ambiance: The open kitchen is visually appealing — you can watch the chefs at work, which adds a dynamic touch to the experience. However, the constant shouting between kitchen and wait staff affects the atmosphere and increases the noise level. A more discreet system could improve this. For example, at both L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges and Brasserie Le Nord (Bocuse) in Lyon, communication between kitchen and servers is done elegantly using soft chimes or light signals — no yelling needed. It shows that efficiency and calm can go hand in hand, even in a busy kitchen. Extras: The venue itself is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for large groups. It also features big screens for watching sports games, creating a great environment for gatherings. Another big plus is the large, easily accessible parking lot — a convenience that’s not always easy to find in busy areas. Final thought: Overall, it’s a vibrant place with great potential. A few updates in service processes, dietary inclusivity, noise management, and communication flow could make the experience even more enjoyable and memorable.

Visited on Feb 8, 2023 Went here as it is constantly recommended. It has a great atmosphere and the food, especially the cuscuz and picanha is amazing. However the service here from the waitstaff/ servers is horrible and rude. Can only recommend the food here & nothing else.

Vibrant atmosphere, good food and friendly service! Our server Jonathan was kind and attentive.

We were there 20 minutes before being serviced and another 30 minutes waiting for a drink we ordered which did not arrive so we left. Horrible.

A must go place. Excellent food and excellent service. They have an amazing playground for children for just $20 and it really makes a difference. There are tables with a tv and a Netflix to watch whatever you want while having a nice meal. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

Good food, big outdoor restaurant, big playground for kids, but you need to pay for it (10R$).
