Madurodam is an interactive park featuring miniature models of Dutch buildings, landmarks, and daily life. The park showcases famous attractions such as the Binnenhof/Parliament, Peace Palace, and Noordeinde Palace in a 1:25 scale setting. Visitors can explore replicas of windmills, markets, museums, and even witness a harbor fire being extinguished. With pathways and tram tracks creating a sprawling village atmosphere, Madurodam offers an immersive experience for all ages.
We recently visited Madurodam in The Hague, and our entire family had a fantastic time! It was perfect outing for both the adults and kids. This park is more than just miniature models; it's a interactive and educational experience. Our child loved being able to push buttons, make things move, and participate in the various activities throughout the park. It was a brilliant way to see the Netherlands' history and landmarks come to life in a way that engages younger visitors. For the adults, we appreciated the clever use of technology to make the exhibits feel dynamic. It offers a wonderful, bite-sized overview of the country's highlights. If you're looking for an outing that keeps everyone entertained and teaches them something new, Madurodam is a must-see.

I absolutely loved this place. The simulations were so amazing. I lo ed the historic stories told and the entire set up, is genius. A great place for kids but for adults alike. Its so interesting and there is so much to see, time will pass by and you would have spent almost an entire day. The best time to go is from when they open at 10.
Schanees B — Google review
It's a fun place to see the highly detailed miniature Dutch, Amsterdam - cityscapes, buildings, architecture, churches, airports, wind farms, wind mills, Canal systems, functional railway track and different trains running around, traffic vehicles moving on the road, ships, boats moving in the water... It was a fun time.. different big bridges recreated where it feels like a small overpass that you walk on, it's a fun get away

Whatta love place to have meal after a fantastic exploration of the Holland miniature park! I highly recommend this tourist spot in the Netherland, The gardens are beautiful well maintained and well worth it a must to see. Brilliant place I was enjoying every single moment there. Toilets are clean. Staffs are lovely and friendly.
Leing S — Google review
Great experience for adults and kids. Plenty of interactive setups to keep the kids engaged and interested, while admiring the great miniature cities. There are also other experiences scattered within the park. Good - clean - interactive and engaging activities - park for kids and adults - impressive miniature landmarks - facilities (toilets, restaurants, playgrounds)

Madurodam was my favorite experience during my entire trip to the Netherlands. I loved exploring the miniature versions of Dutch cities and landmarks. It felt like traveling through the whole country in just a few hours. My favorite parts were steering the ships through the canals, controlling the helicopter, and interacting with the fun exhibits like attracting the fishes. The park is very well designed, with so many details that bring Dutch history, architecture, and culture to life. It’s both educational and entertaining, making it a great place for families, couples, or solo travelers. I would recommend it as one of the first stops for tourists visiting the Netherlands. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Parking was a little pricey, but that might just be my perspective as a visitor from abroad. Overall, I would definitely like to return and see it again.
Abdul-Razak A — Google review
Loved it, what a wonderful piece of art, that Is amazing, every zone has its own beauty, moreover nothing is less but plane ✈️ experience inside it is out standing, a must go place to bring you child here. There is also a shall canteen to have some light snacks and a souvenir shop is also there to bring some gifts. Overall a wonderful experience, but remember you must spare enough time to go there because it needs almost half day to complete it properly if you are a detail lover.
ABHISHEK J — Google review
highly recommend a visit, there are several machines you can pay to get miniatures out, we got a tulip pin bash and there is a mini mars bar factory that gives you 2 mini mars bars, they take cash and card. we would definitely visit again, came as part of a bus tour and got 1.5hrs and unfortunately wasn’t long enough to see everything in detail, would definitely visit again

Nature & Parks
Sea Life Scheveningen is a family-friendly aquarium located in The Hague's seaside district. Since its opening in 1991, it has been home to a diverse array of marine species from around the globe, including sharks, rays, sea turtles, and tropical fish. The aquarium features thematic areas representing various marine habitats such as coral reefs, the Atlantic Ocean, and the North Sea.
A very interesting aquatic museum. At the entrance, the little ones receive a map and participate in a mysterious treasure hunt while visiting the museum. In a projection room, they can draw and see how their drawings come to life once they have been scanned.
Oana M — Google review
Very, very impressive. I didn't expect to see such a big variety of fish. Don't hesitate to visit this aquarium. For kids this will be a big waw!
Dumitru D — Google review
A very small sea life . I spent 20 minutes there. I was disappointed. A dozen or so years ago, there were jellyfish, but now there are none. It's a great attraction for small children. As an adult, I felt somewhat dissatisfied.
Queen — Google review
Sea Life in Scheveningen was a fun experience. The aquariums were accompanied with interesting information on the inhabitants and the ecosystems they usually live in. My personal highlight was the otter, I could have spent hours watching that little guy groom, take a swim, relax.
Stephanie P — Google review
Quite interesting for the kids, stylized interior, one can take pictures as souvenirs then printed or as magnets in the souvenir shop at the exit.
Anna M — Google review
It was a great experience with a wide variety of fish and sea creatures. It’s very well presented. A bit small for the ticket price, but still worth a visit.
Niki U — Google review
A very nice oceanarium with lots of species of fish, sea creatures and more!
Elis P — Google review
Fully recommended. I did enjoy my visiting. Super well organized, since the moment they welcome you at the entrance. Every description on the walls is bilingual, the staff as well. They have feeding of the animals every hour at different locations. A huge variety of animals. Well treated. Interactive and not boring at all.

Museum Beelden aan Zee is an underground museum located in Scheveningen, near The Hague. It offers guided tours of modern sculpture exhibitions and features a first-rate permanent collection as well as entertaining temporary exhibitions. Founded in 1994 by collector couple Theo and Lida Scholten, the museum focuses exclusively on modern and contemporary international sculpture. It also organizes various cultural activities, making it a unique destination in The Hague's international art scene.
Nice expositions that change from time to time. Close to the beach Also offers some workshops and events possibilities.
Gabriela V — Google review
We say an amazing installation, and understand their rotating exhibits are always stellar. The museum architecture is reminiscent of Tadeo Ando. The outdoor sculpture works ate exciting - modernist. The gift shop is nice. Lockers for your things are free. You'll find mostly Dutch visitors. Museum has easy walking distance from the #9 tram stop at Circustheatre.
Joel D — Google review
A cute, small museum. They had three exhibitions aside from those elements that are permanent. Two of the three were single pieces though both were large and immersive or very detailed pieces. But you will likely only need about an hour or little more than an hour to see the full musuem.
Ellen R — Google review
The museum is pretty good, especially because it also allows you to sit and draw, and the outdoor pieces are also really interesting!
Prerana B — Google review
Although the art is quite nice. The admittance price is way too high for what you get. It's incredibly small. It also doesn't have any works that you have to see. You can skip this one.

highly recommend i think its one of the most underrated museums in the country

Fantastic museum built into the dune. Nice architecture... The art on display is beautiful sculptures. On the day of my visit there was also a children's workshop to teach them to create clay moulds. It is a pleasant museum to visit.

Mauritshuis is a government collection in The Hague, Netherlands, featuring hundreds of Dutch paintings including works by renowned artists like Rembrandt and Vermeer.
A bit crowded, but fantastic collection of Dutch painters. The atmosphere and space is just amazing. The gallery is not that huge, I think you can go through in an hour. I highly recommend to download the app before you go.
Petr Z — Google review
Visited Mauritshuis, a very well-known museum located in The Hague, near the Binnenhof. The first interesting thing I learned is that Mauritshuis actually means “Maurits’ house”, which is quite fascinating! However, behind the beauty of the building, the story of how its fortune was built is not entirely pleasant. However I won’t spoil it, because you should visit and find out yourself! This museum is also home to the iconic “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. Fun fact: we might not even be sure it’s an earring, as it doesn’t appear to be hooked! Another remarkable painting is “View of Delft”, also by Vermeer, which holds a special place in my heart since we live nearby and it carries meaningful memories. We even bought a puzzle of that painting, surprisingly affordable for something sold in such a prestigious museum! During our visit, there was also a live Q&A about painting restoration, where they were working on “The Bull” by Paulus Potter. It was fascinating to see how restoration combines art, material and chemical engineering, ethics, and history. For instance, The Bull was taken during the French occupation of the Netherlands, and at some point, a nail scratch was added to the painting. The big question is: do you fix it, restore it, or keep it as part of history? You decide! You can also download the Mauritshuis app and enjoy a free audio guide directly from your phone. I recommend bringing your own headset for the best experience. Overall, a truly great and thought-provoking experience, so I highly recommended!
Ryan A — Google review
A small but nice museum with a collection of beautiful paintings. I went there to see the Girl with the Pearl Earring. It was interesting to watch experts clean up one of the paintings. Staff are friendly & helpful, the museum & facilities are clean and the shop has nice souvenirs. You can buy your tickets at the reception as well as leave your coat and bags.
G. S — Google review
On a per square foot basis, this relatively small museum in the Hague might be the very best art museum in the world. The number of amazing masterpieces from the Dutch is nothing short of stunning. The ability to get close to them is even more wonderful, although people have to abuse this privilege by trying to vandalize the paintings with desserts and other terrible things. From start to finish, we were absolutely stunned by the quality and intimacy of this place. That someone who doesn’t even love art all that much, I fell in love with it.
David S — Google review
We were iffy about going here but saw it listed as maybe the top attraction in den Haag we ponied up and I enjoyed the very impressive detail of so many paintings from around 1600s then seeing Rubens and Rembrandt I was able to see what made them different and special - luminescence and stuff so that was interesting. To save walking up the steps there is a lift but the trick is the button is on top of the post outside not on the wall so if you’re looking on the wall you’ll never find the button for the lift.
Ultimobile — Google review
The Mauritshuis is a beautifully curated museum with an exceptional collection, including several world-famous paintings like Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. The galleries are intimate and thoughtfully arranged, which makes it easy to appreciate each masterpiece up close. However, the museum is quite small, and the ticket price feels a bit high for the amount of time you can comfortably spend inside. Even so, the quality of the artwork and the elegance of the building make it a memorable and worthwhile visit.
T H — Google review
We spent a Saturday evening here, 2hours before closing! It was the perfect amount of time we needed for our weekend in The Hague! What a showstopper museum!! Gorgeous building, and the art is just marvellous 🤩 The girl with the pearl earring was just the icing on the cake! The display of the restoration of one of the pieces was very enjoyable! Thank you 🙏🏾 Highly recommended!
Irene N — Google review
Loved this gallery in elegant former residential home. Came to The Hague to see The Goldfinch, he didn't disappoint! Also The Girl With The Pearl Earring, she was very beautiful. View of Delft was breathtaking. Obviously my phone photos do not do them justice.

"Escher in the Palace" is a permanent exhibition located in the former royal winter palace on Lange Voorhout in The Hague. This grand building now showcases the graphic artworks of M.C. Escher, a renowned Dutch artist known for his precise and bewildering works. The exhibition features a comprehensive collection of Escher's woodcuts, lithographs, and other pieces from various stages of his career, offering insight into his unique blending of different perspectives and mathematical rules with artistic subject matter.
An absolutely fascinating museum! The presentation of Escher’s work is outstanding — each piece is worth your time and your thoughts. Highlights include Metamorphosis III, an extraordinary 7-meter-long masterpiece that flows seamlessly from one image to another, and the mesmerizing Circle Limit series, where Escher’s genius for blending art and mathematics truly shines. The illusions room is a delight, letting you step into the kind of visual paradoxes that made Escher world-famous. A perfect blend of art, geometry, and imagination — not to be missed when in The Hague.
César F — Google review
Amazing artworks told and explained very well. I especially enjoyed the method which documented Escher's life and work - very elegant. The decision to display his works in the palace was well made, the architecture is splendid and wonderous.
Tom T — Google review
If you're into architectural signs, you'll be amazed—it's like stepping into this museum! Truly stunning and beyond your wildest dreams. I spent two hours there, but honestly, it wasn’t enough to take in all the amazing creativity. It’s absolutely fantastic!
莒光號莒光號 — Google review
I personally find the designs inspirational and so different from other art. The intricate carving of wood for the prints is amazing and must have taken so much time and effort to achieve that I find his designs awe-inspiring and beautifully detailed. The museum, housed in the mansion of Queen Emma of the Netherlands is interesting in it's own right and worth seeing, so you get 2 for the price of 1! Definitely worth a visit!
Stephen A — Google review
This place bends your brain in the best way possible. It’s M.C. Escher, so yes, the famous “stairs that go nowhere” are here, along with loads of other works (including some I’d never seen before). Honestly, I half expected to walk out of the museum upside down. The ticket price is refreshingly reasonable (rare in The Hague, where even a coffee can feel like modern art). I’d definitely go again. Tip: go in the morning, there’s so much to see that if you arrive late, your head will be spinning from illusions and from fatigue. Bring curiosity, maybe a coffee, and prepare to wonder if the gift shop exit is actually the entrance.
Teunis S — Google review
Beautiful museum! Extensive collection and enjoyed the interactive parts at the end on the top floor. They have free lockers for your bags, a cafe downstairs, and clean bathrooms.
Barbara D — Google review
All round good exhibit in an historic house. Who doesn't love Escher? If you don't, this isn't for you. If you do you'll find lots of prints and background. Many of the prints are marked "eigen druk" which means "my own print." Would have been nice if they'd cracked a few windows... Lockers are in basement and use fake coins they hand out. Bathroom was decent.
D W — Google review
The museum is located in a former palace. During your visit, you can not only view an exceptional collection of Escher’s works, but also learn more about the royal family and their way of life. The exhibition display is well thought out.

Panorama Mesdag is an art museum showcasing the impressive panoramic beach painting by 19th-century artist Hendrik Mesdag. The circular painting offers a naturalistic depiction of the beach at Scheveningen as it appeared in 1881, skillfully capturing lighting and perspective. Visitors can appreciate the work from a central viewing platform. Additionally, nearby at the Mesdag Collection, more of Mesdag's land- and seascapes are on display, providing further insight into his artistic prowess.
It's a surreal experience to see a life-like panoramic painting from the view point (hut) supposedly on a sanddune in a beach overlooking beach and sea on one side and old Den Haag city on the other side. From the viewpoint, the cealing of the painting is not visible at the top and the bottom of the painting smoothly transitions and merges into the beach sanddune setting around the viewing spot... So we don't see where the painting actually stops and the actual sand begins... unless we squint. And the natural lighting makes it all the more realistic, and the painting is at optimal distance that we barely feel any parallax, at the same time we don't see any brush strokes, making it very much real.
Gautham V — Google review
The 360 painting mixed with real objects give you such a surreal experience. Spend your time to take a look at the painting. The details on the painting is amazing. We are looking it wasn't busy so we get to really see the whole thing. Personally I do think its worth the 16 just to see this painting. Don't forget there are also other exhibition on ground floor. The place is not big though.
Yiqiang X — Google review
Panorama Mesdag is the largest painting in the Netherlands. The museum's collection includes the works of Mr. and Mrs. Mesdag, both painters. One hall is allocated to temporary exhibitions. The panorama is beautiful and realistic, you feel like you actually live in the 19th century. Definitely recommended.
Banu D — Google review
This is a really interesting art museum. The Panorama painting is vast and the setup where the viewer is in a kind of beach lookout hut which looks out over real sand and beach props which cleverly stretch out to trick the eye into thinking you're shortage actually in the painting for real

This was understated brilliance! There are 3 rooms of paintings by Mesdag and his wife, very good introduction to the artist. Then you head through the dark passage and up the spiral staircase and you gasp at the amazing panorama. It takes you back in time as if you are there. Extraordinary! 🤯

The Peace Palace, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is a stunning Renaissance-style complex that houses judicial courts, gardens, and a library. It serves as the home for the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Built with funding from Andrew Carnegie to promote peace through international law, it officially opened in 1913.
Visitor center is free to visit. Lots of information. View of gardens and peace palace. We had booked the inside the palace tour. No photos allowed. Our guide, Leon, was great! The interior is beautiful. Decorated with gifted items from countries - marble from Italy, tiles from Delft/Netherlands, statue from US, tapestries from Japan, etc. Got to see Court of Arbitration and Court of Justice. Highly recommend!

Not much to see and the whole palace is quite far from the entrance meaning you won't even get a good photo. The surrounding area with all of the Villas and embassies is much better.

The Peace Palace is not only a beautiful landmark, but also a global symbol. It represents the hope of peace and the idea of true justice — a place where the world should find fairness and equality.

Nice Peace palace. No entry for anyone who doesnt work there, or has one of the few tours inside, booked in advance. -There is a visitor center to the left of the entrance. -There is a "peace flame" monument to the right of the entrance. The monument has a stone from every country in the world and a live flame.
Adam C — Google review
Free admission with a free audio guide on your phone (recommend to bring your own earphones if you prefer not to use theirs). Very informative from origin to different case studies. However, there was no guided tour and we were confined to a rather small exhibition area.

The palace is beautiful, and of importance, worth a quick view. You can only see the building from the outside. There are for now only a few possibilities to enter the building, only a couple of times a year, with a tour. Book in advance. But: at of this moment no tour has been scheduled. The Visitors Center, although the people are friendly and helpful, is not worth a visit. You will not find any interesting pieces of history. And the visiting takes only 2 minutes. In my opinion it could have been so much more interesting. P.s. There are toilets inside, to enter the toilets, you need a 50 cents coin.

Truly very peaceful place The Peace Palace, Hague. The court structure is humongous and picturesque along with vast green lush beautiful garden. Also there are two significant structures; first The Peace tree where people tie peace notes which is an amazing feeling to be able to notice add your own peace note and feel part of world peace and Second a peace memorial fire which has one stone from each country put around it. This is one of a kind experience to be here.

The Pier SkyView, located at the end of the Scheveningen pier, offers breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline. This giant ferris wheel stands 50 meters above sea level and provides an unforgettable experience with its private gondolas for afternoon tea or a romantic SkyDinner. The sunset views from this vantage point are particularly stunning, making it a perfect spot for couples.
Great view and it feels like a little adventure - when you are up and surrounded by the sea. Ride is approx. for 13-14 minutes. Tickets can be bought on the spot, there is a queue but the wait is not long.

Fabulous bird view. Stunning as the sky was clear blue. Magical. Also. Have a stroll on the boulevard and treat yourself to a lovely dinner on the “strip”. Especially when the evening start and lights illuminate the beautiful beach.

We've done similar attractions that were nicer like the one in Montreal and The Eye in London. Felt more professional. This felt a bit like a carnival ride. Nice enough, love that the pods are air conditioned but they could use a cleaning. Othe people may enjoy this event more than we did. Wasn't awful, wast great. The surrounding area is also a bit jersey shore to me. Just not our thing.
Tam C — Google review
We visited The Pier SkyView and it was such a special experience. The views over the sea and beach were absolutely stunning, and the cozy cabins made the ride extra comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable moment by the sea!

Opened in 2016, this is Europe’s first Ferris wheel built over the sea, rising about eight meters above the North Sea. With a height of around 45 meters, it offers sweeping views of the coastline and the city skyline. A ride lasts between 12 and 20 minutes, making it a perfect way to take in the scenery. Sunset is an especially romantic time to enjoy the experience.

Best beach and best view from De Pier. Never ever to miss out on this if you are in Den Haag. Best place to chill for music lovers

We enjoyed this, the view was great from the top, I think it was a bit too expensive at €11 per person and there was 4 of us, however we did go round a good few times.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Scheveningen is a vibrant hub of creativity and fun for the whole family. Located on the promenade near SEA LIFE, this center offers interactive games, models, and activities all centered around LEGO bricks. From the Fantasy Express to building with LEGO Friends and NINJAGO Training Zone, there's something for everyone. The 4D cinema adds an extra dimension to the experience.
Went here with my little sister, she enjoyed the activities and workshops! We went during Halloween season, so there was lots of spooky vibes and the experience finished with receiving a Lego witch potion. She absolutely enjoyed it. Pretty clean for a kid's play area, she got to build very comfortably. I personally enjoyed the Miniland, it was almost like a Lego Madurodam.
Simone G — Google review
*Fun for kids with building and other activities.* Unfortunately, there were hardly any LEGO figures at the building stations (likely taken home by visitors). There were also a few interactive models that are supposed to move when you press a button — but they didn’t work. Considering the very high entrance price (€23 from age 2) you’d expect things to function properly and the toilets to be clean. You can get tickets via AH supermarket. Second ticket free.
Tombong D — Google review
We visited out of season, which meant plenty of access to all the exhibits and play areas. The kids really enjoyed themselves, and we found that about 2.5 hours was the right amount of time for our visit. It’s definitely best suited for younger children (under 10), but even if your kids are a bit older and don’t mind the younger theme, there’s still fun to be had. Honestly, I can’t think of anything negative to say as it was exactly what we expected, and we weren’t disappointed.
Teunis S — Google review
Disclosure, I got my tickets half price! I went there with my nephew of 7 years old. The first thing stated at Legoland is that at busy days there is a 2 hour limit visit. If you pay full price, you need to consider this. The whole facility is underground so you take an elevator down. When we left, the elevator was broken. So people with stollers and mobility impairment had to wait till it was fixed. There was a stairs to take to exit. So Legoland is about building and you have tables of different themes like Ninjago and Dubro. Yes , it is fun to build but there mostly bricks to use. For the car race you need wheels and those bricks with holes in it... Those were rare, so you had to wait till the kids weren't interested in their creations to make your own. Even my nephew noticed at the Ninjago station that he couldn't make figurines or robots. I understand that those pieces are worth alot and there can be a tendency of stealing them as there is no oversight in putting them in pockets but if you can only make brick houses, it doesn't really grab the attention. My nephew did like the Ninjago laser game. That was the most fun he had besides the car making (when he had the wheel pieces) and the minimal 4d movie experience. You have a workshop on Lego building, Lego built Scheveningen, a cafe and a cart ride with magic wands to shoot at projectors. The cart ride is for kids above 130 cm. So young kids can't even enjoy it. Because my Nephew liked the Laser Game the most, I won't be coming back as I think a facility like Monkey Town is more interesting for him.
Robin I — Google review
It is a great place for kids. All ages, but mainly the little ones. Starting at 3 up until 12? Depending on your daughter or son interest in Legos 😊
Ana F — Google review
We loved it with our 4,5 year old son! Conveniently situated near the parking right on the beach! We spent there hours playing and building with lego, went to the lego cinema and watched a 4d LEGO movie, our son was impressed, as it was his first time! Staff is super friendly and nice! There is a lego train and great masterclasses for children and parents. It was great fun for all our family. We finished our day on the sunny pier right next to the LEGO land! Very happy!
Наталия С — Google review
Good spot for a couple of hours, lots to do for a 6 year old. The 4D cinema was fun but could do with some subtitles for English customers.
Bryan C — Google review
Legoland at Schevinegan Beach is a great proposition for young children, especially in the age group of 4 to 10. The staff is courteous for the most part and take care of your experience. Some of the older staff members can be curt, but you just gotta learn to work around them. Even though English is not the primary language, you could always ask for instructions in English. (like in the Lego workshop.). The 4D movie also is a great experience for young ones. I only wish they would give you a memento of your visit! Something to remember Legoland. However, that is not the case over here as everything comes with the price tag. Barring that it is a great experience.

Oh wow that was amazing, I wanted to visit that place just because it came to my mind to visit a royal palace and I got lucky because then figured out that it was opened just for two weeks in the year. The atmosphere inside is magnificent and I felt soo lucky to be there. There was even audio guides which I did not expect. The only rule that you need to hang it on your neck posed me off😄 because I don’t like to hang something on the neck and feel uncomfortable. Also mind that you can’t take videos and of course touch anything. But photos were amazing, I wanted to match the place as also few (unfortunately) people. Because I am maybe very visual so people on the sneakers and shorts was breaking the feeling that you are somewhere in the classy place and brought you back to relity.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the opportunity, because it's rare to see a palace that is in actual use. Only accessible for a few weeks per year, though, and with limited availability of tickets.

A wonderful experience visiting Palace Noordeinde, the working palace of the Dutch King. It’s a rare treat since the palace is only open to the public for a couple of weeks each year. We loved learning about its rich history and seeing the many beautifully decorated rooms, each with its own official purpose. We bought a combination ticket with the Royal Stables and spent about 3 hours in total exploring both. The audio guide was excellent and really brought the stories to life. Overall, a great afternoon and highly recommended if you get the chance!

Beautiful palace with a lovely architecture. This is the working palace of our king and he opened it to the public during his holidays. A good choice, the palace houses a lot of history. The works of art, various rooms give you a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the Royal House. The Tour is well organised. There are two queues and just in time I could enter. There is a set route and on arrival you can do an audio/video Tour. The audio/video Tour really comes highly recommended. You get a lot of information about the rooms and art. I enjoyed it!

We were so lucky to find tickets as the palace is open to visitors only for a few days during the summer. The entire experience is beautiful and so special! The audio guide which you'll receive at the entrance free of charge is very informative and easy to use. All the staff members were amazing, always smiling and happy to answer any questions. The palace itself is superb and unique, so worth visiting if you get the opportunity!

Shout-out to Tess, a really knowledgeable Muzee peep who knows her history and was most welcoming to this Boomer from Los Angeles. Check out the replica land yacht next door out front, almost missed it! (See Simon Stevin, 16th Century)

This museum largely describes the life of fishermen in the area. The statue on the promenade shows a wife waiting for her husband to return and lower on the promenade is a memorial to all those lost at sea - both at times of war and peace. I enjoyed seeing the jumpers which are reminiscent of Yorkshire fishermen's ganseys. The boat outside is a land yacht - made to go at speed along the beach.

Small and cosy museum about Scheveningen. Went to see Jimmy Nelson's exhibition 'Between sea and sky' and wasn't disappointed.

The friendly, knowledgeable staff have made my visits enjoyable. They also suffer me to practice my Dutch, and even help me, instead of simply switching to English. I have taken a friend and her daughter (11yo) who has great fun. The Prison Gate Museum in The Hague offers tours that delve into the history of crime and punishment, featuring jailer's quarters, an interrogation room, and judges' chambers. Situated at the division between the Buitenhof and Binnenhof, this museum provides insight into medieval times and showcases the imposing architecture of the former main gateway to the castle for the Counts of Holland.
One of the most interactive museum I’ve ever been in the Netherlands! The museum’s audio guide narrations were really nice and engaging, feels like you’re being brought back in time 👀 They make it into 2 parts, so make sure in the end and to ask the staffs if you have visited all parts of the museum.
Sufya — Google review
I would advice mainly two things: - book in advance because there are time slots, so if you just show up you might not be allowed to enter. - the visit is split in two parts, first part is the history, second part starts where the first part starts. I almost missed this one, because it wasn’t obvious. Just go back to the front desk and they will tell you where to go. First part is more interactive, second part goes deeper into what the prison used to be. Also if you do the second part you’ll end up outside in the yard where there’s a 1812 guillotine (the original one), and also the torture chamber mentioned in the first part.
Lucas K — Google review
I highly recommend you going there if you come to The Hague. It’s very interesting in how far back they go. I’ll be attaching some pictures. I want to say they were truly barbaric, but again you have to think of the time. some of the pictures are the tools they used in the dungeon and on one picture you’ll see a little box in the corner and that was their toilet. It is a very fascinating museum.
Lina N — Google review
Such a fun experience! Very educational and interesting—the museum preserves a piece of history that makes its visitors reflect on how far our justice and penal systems have come. The open and light museum really contrasts to how dark and intimidating it must’ve been in the 1500s. Just a really cool spot!
Ursula O — Google review
"The Prison Gate was originally an entrance gate to the castle of the Counts of Holland, built in medieval times. For many years after, it served as a prison to the Court of Holland. Nowadays the museum tells the story of crime and punishment across the centuries." The museum is very well preserved. When I visited the prisoner cells, I had the feeling that I travelled back in time. The museum provides valuable information about the judicial processes in history. I did not know that there are special cells for wealthy people, like a hotel room😃 There are even interactive settings, for example, by pushing a button, you can act as a judge and try to decide on a verdict! I really enjoyed my visit.

The museum's meticulously curated exhibits vividly depicted the different facets of prison life, from interrogation to torture and punishment. Of particular interest were the interrogation rooms, where visitors could immerse themselves in the tense atmosphere of past investigations. Equally compelling were the sections dedicated to torture and punishment, where vivid descriptions and artifacts brought to life the harsh realities faced by prisoners. They give you a booklet when you first go in and it’s a self-guided tour, then you can come back for part 2 where you follow a different route with an audio tour to guide you. The restaurant provides an opportunity to bask in the sun on its terrace during summer while enjoying delicious food and drinks. Originally built as a circus venue in 1904, Circustheater has evolved into one of the most renowned theaters in the Netherlands.
The relaxed performance (or prikkelarm in Dutch) was very well organised. I was very pleased that a special event like was organised. The client I was with was totally enthralled by the whole performance. The actors were really great too not letting themselves be distracted by anything happening in the audience. The audience were given some regulations to stick to and this worked generally really well. The ushers were super patient and friendly with everything getting all kinds of things sorted and making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Kudos and kudos to everyone that made this happen. Also special kudos to those organising the make a wish foundation! Thank you We went a 2nd time and this time to a normal performance. Again kudos to the actors, the orchestra, all the people behind scenes doing hard work, the amazing ushers going the extra mile to help us out with the special walker taking real good care of it. These people this theatre absolutely 100/10 recommend. Shame the show is stopping. Its such a beautiful spectacle

We went here to watch the musical Disney frozen. The environment is very good and the staff is also very kind. There is delicious high tea and coffee during the intermission. The most important thing is that the stage play is very shocking and memorable. It is very close to the beach, and you can go to the beach after watching it. However, the parking fee is too expensive.

The play is 4/5 I guess it could use some improvements. Staff very organized. Entry and exit procedures very neat and smooth. However, i am rating the theater as a facility. The seats are too bad, condition were ok. But type and style i guess belongs to the 80’s. No much space, for someone to slide in a whole row shall stand to let a person pass. Such efforts made by actors should be rewarded with an up to date theater.

We saw The Lion King on Broadway at this theatre over the weekend. The production was absolutely amazing. High quality sound with live orchestra and singing. The seats are typically theatre seats, no drink holders. The staff are Professional and friendly. Book your show as far in advance as possible to select your seating preference.

On the second day of Christmas, we went to the musical Aïda. What was the cast GOOD and extremely talented. With each song, I got goosebumps! Circustheather itself was very nicely decorated for Christmas. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They also have an arrangement with a few parking garages in the surrounding area. For a fixed price, you can park the car there up till 8 hours after driving in. Which is perfect for lunch before a show or dinner after a show. The seats were comfortable, and the temperature inside was nice. However, during the break, you have only 15 minutes to go to the toilet and grab something to drink/eat. The lines were long, and not everybody who wanted something got the chance because the break flies by so quickly. In other venues, they have an arrangement where drinks are already on a table for everyone to take one, perhaps they do this on purpose so you will buy their own break arrangement..

Nestled in the heart of The Hague, Hofvijver is a charming lake that serves as a serene backdrop to the city's iconic government buildings and landmarks. This picturesque body of water is not only a recreational spot but also hosts various events throughout the year. One of its standout features is the Mauritshuis, an exquisite museum that was once home to Prince Johan Maurits van Nassau, who governed Brazil in the 17th century.
Just an amazing architecture and good for making some beautiful pictures. The Hofvijver was made rectangular by Count Albrecht of Bavaria in the 14th century. The pond retains this design to this day, although it was given quays in the 17th century and extended in the 19th century. Until around 1800, the Binnenhof was still surrounded by a moat and only accessible via bridges.

Such a calm and beautiful spot. The water, the old buildings, the modern skyline in the back… everything mixes in a nice way. I stopped here for a moment just to look around. Even on a colder day it feels peaceful. A good place to just breathe a bit while walking through The Hague.

Beautiful place, local market, snacks around the corner, Instagram point. The best place in the Hague to capture great pictures.

Already a very fairytale-like place on a normal day, when frozen the Hofvijver is one of the most romantic places in the Netherlands to ice skate. Don't forget to wave to the prime minister in his Little Tower. :)

The Grote Kerk, also known as the Great Church or Saint James' Church, is a historic Protestant church located in The Hague. Dating back to the 14th century, this former Catholic church features a mix of Gothic and neo-Gothic architecture. It has been expanded over time to accommodate more worshippers and holds valuable works such as an oak pulpit from the 16th century and high-quality frescoes attributed to renowned artists.
Went to the Bierfestival here. Absolutely a must for beer lovers. You will see me again next year.

I really enjoyed visiting the Grote Kerk, even though I couldn’t go inside. The gothic architecture and the tower are stunning. The church has such a strong presence in the heart of The Hague — perfect for photography and soaking up the historic atmosphere

Noteworthy and beautiful protestant church! We went on a private group tour and it did not dissapoint! The insode workings is amazing as well as the mechanisms that controls the bells! Right at the top you get amazing views of The Hague with a 360 degree view! Getting tickets im advance is advisable.

We visited Grote Kerk on a whim and we're glad we did. No wait times and no issues getting tickets. The church was interesting to see. It was obvious there was a large event the day before as the floor was wet and sticky and there were empty plastic cups. The tower tour was great! Our guide, Rudolph, was very knowledgable and kind. Be ready to walk up (and back down!) 300 narrow steps! Very cool views once you get to the top.

A culturally and historically beautiful venue to attend the Expat trade show last weekend. Very high ceilings and plenty of open spaces that facilitated the booths aswell as seminars. A well organized and timely information to help expats gain valuable insights. I was particularly intrigued by a seminar on tenants rights against landlords in Netherlands. Well worth the Saturday to walk around and meet various service providers - extend networks under one roof

We climbed the church tower with two kids (5 &7) and enjoyed it a lot! It is a separate tour, with 15 spots only. It runs twice a day - book in advance, the ticket includes an excursion. Our guide Theo was very charismatic, wr have learnt a lot about tower history and a weird metal roof it once had (see bw pic):) Great panoram of the Hague! Next year (2024) church celebrates its 600 birthday 🎂 do not miss it!

Food quality is OK. Many options for food but most of it is pre-cooked. Long queues for drinks. Nice view outside to the beach. It is fine, but it is not espectacular.

Really nice place with a great variety of food options from different cuisines. The atmosphere is lively, and it’s right by the beach, which makes it even better. Perfect for groups since everyone can choose what they like. A bit crowded sometimes, but definitely worth a visit!

I think the ambiance is really good. I tried the Pad Thai and the Gyros Express, and both were good. The wide variety of options is also excellent. I definitely recommend it.
Eren — Google review
The Foodhall Scheveningen is centrally located and offers a modern concept reminiscent of similar food halls abroad, particularly from Southeast Asia. Several smaller stalls are spread throughout the hall, offering a variety of international cuisines. A bar in the center, visually striking due to its lighting, serves as a central meeting point. Prices vary depending on the vendor and dish. A Chinese ramen soup with smoked pork and additional shrimp cost around €20. While the culinary offerings are diverse, the music in the hall was consistently loud throughout our visit, making conversation difficult. Overall, the Foodhall offers a diverse selection of food in an urban setting with a lively atmosphere.
Matt E — Google review
Nice food hall. We had cocktails, Surinamese curry, tacos and poffertjes all in the space of an hour and a half. A little bit pricey but nice to be sat so close to the beach.
Nicki M — Google review
The Foodhallen at the pier in Scheveningen may not be huge, but they offer a well-curated selection of international street food. The focus here is mainly on savory dishes, with flavors from various corners of the world. The space is modern and casual, with several food stalls to choose from. Prices are in line with typical Dutch standards: not cheap, but reasonable for the quality and location. That said, it might not be the best place for picky eaters, as the selection leans more towards bold flavors and less towards classic, familiar options. Still, if you haven’t found what you’re looking for along the beach, there’s a good chance you’ll discover something here.

Westduinpark, located between Scheveningen and Kijkduin in The Hague, is a vast nature reserve known for its diverse landscape of forests, open plains, moist dune valleys, and elevated dune tops. This sea-facing park offers hiking and biking opportunities amid sand dunes and heather. It is popular with runners, dog owners, and families who can encounter Highland cows and other herd animals while exploring the area.
A fantastic place to walk and enjoy the sea. The cows are absolutely cute. Very clean with great walking paths and small hills with panoramic view.

Very nice nature reserve, offering a lot of different trails through the sand dunes or to the beach. Can be crowded in the weekends. Be aware with Google maps. A lot of walking trails on Google go through closed areas, where you are not allowed to walk.

Big park offering nice sceneries and some of the few hills you can find in The Hague, if you are into resistance training (running). The bike lanes are well maintained for being in an over exposed area. Open 24/7 but there is no artificial illumination (because it is a natural reserve), so I wouldn’t recommend visiting it during the night. Free entrance.

The sound quality enhances the realism, making you feel as if you're truly part of the scenes unfolding before you. It's a perfect outing for families and nature enthusiasts alike!
Fun and interactive museum + theatre! Kids will find it fun, as a young adult myself i enjoyed it. The theatre is showing imax film on curved screen (as i uploaded) and the museum changes it sub-themes every couple months: but the main theme remains the same - earth, people, and sustainable feature. Worth the money i’d say

Went to see a really nice movie about fungi and forests. While still impressive, the projection technology seems to be showing its age with rather blurry picture quality and low brightness compared to current day cinema tech. Your eyes do adjust to it if you're used to IMAX theaters. On a 28C day the viewing hall was surprisingly hot with no AC in the hall itself. Luckily we had some hand fans which made it a lot more bearable. The cinema store was cute and the staff while inexperienced were very polite. Had a nice experience, but for 17 euro admission I'd only come back if they improved their tech.

Impressive Experience at Omniversum Den Haag! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Omniversum Den Haag is a must-visit! The dome-style theatre offers a unique and immersive movie-watching experience you won’t find anywhere else. We watched OCEAN, narrated by David Attenborough — a stunning and powerful film. While we had hoped it would fill the entire dome ceiling, it was still an incredible visual journey. The sound and screen quality are top-notch, and the atmosphere really draws you in. Highly recommend for families, tourists, and anyone looking for something special in The Hague!
Edward E — Google review
An unique experience. I didn't realize the dome where you view the movies is in the back of the complex and you have to walk around the entire museum to get to it(see photo). I saw the "Celebration of Pink Floyd’s legendary album Dark side of the Moon." I was expecting a music video or video set to The Dark side of the Moon. However, this was something completely different. This was more like a few artists' take on the album. The songs were remixed and set to very trippy visuals, that is really the only way to describe it. It almost felt like someone had left on the visualizer from an old Microsoft media player at times.

This place is amazing!! I didn't expect it to be this cool. We took a 10am session to see the turtle odyssey and it was beautiful. Smartly only 47 min because my toddler was already at his end. Then I went to the museum because the ticket came together. And oh boy I didn't expect so many interactive and fun things to do! So worth the 17 euros! Other places charge you so much and offer so little. Just some tips: food could have more options and healthier ones. Also some interactive things were not well explained. The session with "men evolution " could have a warning sign. It's quite frightening for a small kid. Other than that had a great time and didn't want to leave!
Julie C — Google review
It was really amazing! The film was just out of this world! We watched animal kingdom and it was really amazing. There's a lot of activities in the museum for the kids and for the adults to enjoy with their kids. Definitely recommend going!
Danine W — Google review
The exhibition is great! The idea of illustrating "sustainable development" is wonderful! But it's not technically well thought out. Young and older children study the questions, but soon they get tired of "thinking through" them and just run around the room, punching holes in a card slot machine without really understanding the topic. It's a bit sad.... Also we enjoyed the film in the cinema! And the museum is connected to the art gallery by a simple glass corridor! So you can simply walk there without going outside, but you'll need to buy other tickets, of course!

We tried Mesmerica in 3D dome. It was music and some 3D shapes. Requested to be there 45min earlier but didn't have any point as we needed to wait on the stairs till they open the door. In general was good to try but by looking at the ticket price didn't have much content.

Pathé Scheveningen is a popular cinema with comfortable and adjustable seats, although some visitors experienced vibrating seats during the movie. The venue offers clean toilets and convenient escalators. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the friendly staff. Additionally, there are parking options available nearby. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a film in English with good legroom and steep angles for an unobstructed view.
This film palace is an amazing location next of the beach of The Hague. Inside the atmosphere is awesome. Everywhere clean and ordered. When you step in the cinema the first what you meet a pretty rich cinema buffet. This buffet full with everything what is nice, popcorn of course, candies, beverages, so on so on. Great cinema. The ‘relax seats’ are extremely comfortable. You can manually change the settings. The only downside was that during the movie the lower part of the seats were vibrating at the beginning of the movie and during.. The toilets are clean. They’ve got escalators going up only. We visited the cinema on a Monday evening and it wasn’t crowded at all (as expected and as preferred). Parking ticket here costs €4,50 for 4 hours (only location Zwolsestraat). Otherwise we would’ve had to pay 10,50 (for 3 hours of parking). 7-10 min walk from the cinema.

My first ever 4Dx experience . Was worth the money. Please make sure to get the glasses for 3D/ 4D movies from the ground floor counters. You can also get a parking ticket for 4 hours for just 4.50 euros if you park at the correct place

Great movie theater that offers movies in 2D, 3D Dolby Cinema and 4Dx for your viewing pleasure. Mostly shows new releases. Comfortable lounge areas outside of the different viewing halls. Restrooms are clean, although not located on every floor. Discounted parking tickets are available for purchase and costs 4.50 euros for four hours. The theater is also situated across of a tram stop, making it easy to travel by public transportation to Pathe.

Good cinema clean and good audience. I went to a film in English. There are clean free toilets on the ground floor also on the third floor. Scheveningen strand, a district of The Hague in the Netherlands, has evolved from a fishing village into a popular beach resort. It offers pristine beaches, landmarks, museums, and historical sites. Known for its beautiful views and water sports, it becomes a bustling beach resort during the summer months. With sections for sunbathing, water sports, and even nudists, it attracts tourists from around the world. This seaside destination is beloved by visitors for its lovely stretch of clean and quiet beach.
Quite a clean beach with different segmentations that allow animals or any other specific need. > Different ways to lay in shade or out in the sun. > Available, acceptably clean toilets. > Activities, stores and food places, especially near the Pier. > Great view either directly from the shore or elevated areas close-by. > Access to fresh, drinkable and cold water near every entrance to the beach. > Clean and beautiful dunes to walk along and enter each segment through. Only downside being the amount of jellyfish roaming in the- or murkiness of the water itself. Also not the best view if you want nothing sticking up on the horizon, but that's the most negligible nit-pick possible.

Great beach with a lively vibe! I really enjoyed my time at Scheveningen Beach. The area is full of life, with plenty of beachfront bars and terraces to relax and grab a drink. The pier is great for a walk, and the Ferris wheel offers amazing views over the sea. A fun and interesting place to spend the day – highly recommended if you’re visiting The Hague!

On a chilly September afternoon, as the lazy winds whips in off the North Sea and the surf is attractive only to very well wrapped up surfer dudes and dudettes, the beach attractions may seem limited to the rest of us. I actually really like the beach under those conditions - it's bracing and all that, but it would have been nice if a few more eating and drinking places and been open at that time.

Great beach - you can either go for a walk on the pier, go on the Ferris wheel 🎡, go to the sand, take a seat at one of the many restaurants by the beach, have a picnic on the sand, go for a ride on the train along the neighborhood and the coast line (my 4 year old insisted and it was fun!). This is the Netherlands’ most famous seaside destination, combining beach life, a pier, hotels, art, and year-round events. Once a small fishing village, it transformed into a major resort in the 19th century when sea bathing and spa culture swept across Europe. Today, its wide sandy beach stretches for more than four kilometers and features landmarks like SkyView de Pier, the pier itself, and the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus. Highlights include the International Fireworks Festival, sand sculpture shows, surfing and kitesurfing, and the traditional New Year’s Day dive. Sunset here is especially romantic.

The Louwman Museum, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is home to an impressive private collection of over 250 antique and classic cars, motorcycles, and other automotive artifacts. Founded by Evert Louwman, the museum showcases vehicles dating back to the late 19th century as well as rare exhibits such as early motorcars, racing legends, and innovative prototypes.
We had the best time at the Louwman car museum the other day, and I highly recommend it. Seeing some of the earliest cars ever made was pretty cool. The museum was arranged so well, making it easy to navigate and appreciate each vehicle. There were so many interesting and informative displays that we learned a lot. Overall, it was a really great experience!

Sore feet warning - but there are plenty of places to sit down to rest along the way. We spent three hours here - even my partner who was not interested in cars was quite absorbed - the most pre-1900 cars I’ve seen - the earliest hybrid electric - the earliest electric cars - an amazing variety in history. After that we needed a break but the on-site cafe while looking like Disneyland was disappointing. The Dutch snack plate recommended by the waiter was four deep fried potato croquettes, two deep fried chicken nuggets, maybe four tiny spring rolls of cheese and some potato crisps from a packet - not impressive. I had a white beer which also didn’t taste that good to me.

This museum is a great collection starting from the very beginning of building cars, transitioning horse wagons into motorized vehicles. A beautiful building this collection will blow your mind while you walk from one room into the next and find another treasure. It is possible to see everything in two hours walk, but if you prefer to have a better understanding of all the cars, you can easily fill up a whole day within the museum. There is as well restaurants, which looks very cozy. Overall, the experience is Really great.

Great experience. It is perhaps one of its kind! Really impressive. Some suggestions: the entrance is quite crammed with one person doing everything and no space. Also would be interesting to add how much the vehicles cost at their time and the equivalent for our days. I think it can show us how accessible the cars were for common people. Anyways it was amazing!
Julie C — Google review
Really a very wonderful museum. Thought about going there for years but didn't do it till today because I thought it was expensive, small and focussed on on a few rarity cars. Boy was I wrong! The external images of the museum makes it look ehh, not large. But in reality it is. It also has 3 (!) floors. Most of the collection covers the era between 1890 till the 1960's which I really like. I wish some of the colours on these cars where available today, just marvelous. Also a lot of cars with a special place in history, a Cadillac owned by Elvis Presley, the Austin martin db5 from James Bond Goldfinger. Both cars from the British film Genevieve (which I just watched and loved). Two cars from The godfather and a lot more. Must not forget to mention the cafe which is indoors but designed like let's say a village square. Simple but lovely. Lots of eye candy. In short, don't be deceived by the external shots which make it it feel small. The place is huge and in it's own a really wonderful building, but go there and be amazed!!

A suprisingly huge car collection everyone should see, and I would especially like to adress petrol heads like me. As far as I understood, this is a museumificated personal collection. Mr. Louwman was busy living my dreams. I admire the way it is presented. Honestly, I wouldn’t expect a personal collection to be so professionally presented. If you try to read each and every information card, then you will definitely need a second day. Since I didn’t have an extra day to spare (but I wish I did), I started skipping readings until I came across a car I am particularly drawn after the second half of the day when I realized I won’t be able to finish if I read all of them. I really wonder how all sort of cars ended up at Mr. Louwman. The cars are so lively that even old cars have trays full of sand to prevent oil spill on the floor and most of the sand in tray is stained, just think of it. My fascination also continued at the restaurant place. It was designed as if you are on the street, sitting at a restaurant or cafe and having what you have ordered whilst gazing into surrounding streets, cars and shops. I have two minor comments, firstly, the audio tour that was implemented through Spotify seems to be a good idea, however not everyone may be a user and more importantly the intensity of content wasn’t able to keep pace with the collection itself. Needs to be developed. Secondly, the shop was a bit weak when I again think of the museum itself. I, as a petrol head, had anticipated to buy at least a tshirt and a book after such a museum, however I was left with bare hands. A final saying about the surroundings, I unexpectedly went 30 minutes earlier than the opening time, so I went for a walk in the park. That is one magnificent walking route that one can’t expect right next to a museum. I even saw a deer running and couldn’t make a photo of it. So you may consider having a walk there and encounter with wild life before or after your museum visit.

I have been to this place a couple of times in the past few years, but my most recent visit definitely deserves a review. My friend and I had an exceptional experience. We had the self braai package, multiple sides and some drinks. The service was amazing. The food and drinks were tasty and brought out within a short space of time. A very big shout out to Mario, who was our waiter for the day. He is such a friendly, calm, exemplary, and professional guy. Thanks for making our lunch outing one to remember. The industry definitely needs more Super Mario's like you 😀

The food was really nice and we loved our drinks. The staff is calm and friendly and so was the food. I was having a struggle deciding but the african chicken salad was absolutely beautiful. Again compliments to the girls working, the bar and the chef

Not the best. The server mixed our orders. The table was too oily of the fireplace, and we had to clean it ourselves. We wanted to order starter, and main course, and asked if we can have starter before the main, and the answer was’No, we bring all together’! They did not have the ‘soup of the day’!! Etc. Finally we asked, and they cleaned the table. We were thinking maybe we get good food at the end, but it didn’t happen! We ordered well done hamburgers, we received red minced meat.

Beautiful location to tuck away during a cold, rainy day while walking along the coast. We sat by a little fire and enjoyed the frites, wine and salad. Very enjoyable experience and would love to go again.

We visited this restaurant for a family meal and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. One of the pieces of barbecue meat was spoiled and had a bad smell. The staff did replace it when we pointed it out, but later that evening all three of us in the family ended up with food poisoning symptoms and suffered from stomach issues for two days. I rarely leave negative reviews, but food safety is very important and this experience really affected our trust in the restaurant. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves their quality control.

Very chill nice vibe. This is their piña colada… i told the waitress that they forgot the coconut milk and i was brought the same drink… i guess that is just how their piña colada is. Not one of their best cocktails. Have not tried the food here yes tho

Such a beautifully decorated place. The music was a hit. We went on a sunny evening and the service was a bit slow, maybe a bit understaffed, had to wait for so long before getting service. The cocktails were also very watered down. I would go back for the food

Nestled along the vibrant shores of Scheveningen, Beachclub Twins is a delightful spot that radiates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're enjoying a day out with family, friends, or colleagues, this beach club offers an inviting environment to unwind while savoring delicious bites from their diverse menu. With options ranging from fresh seafood to hearty meat dishes and vegetarian selections, there's something for everyone. Guests can choose to dine indoors, outdoors on the terrace, or even right on the sandy beach.
Twins exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the English-speaking staff were attentive and helpful. While slightly pricier, the high-quality offerings were well worth it. The Beach-Burger and Salmon-Filet were standout dishes, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. Crispy, non-greasy fries and customizable sauces added to the experience. Beachclub Twins is a must-visit for its stunning views, great service, and superb cuisine.

I had a nice burger at this beachclub restaurant. The burger was tasty, it came with tortilla chips, I ordered the fries separately. There was a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and child friendly, as there were families with children sitting at the other tables. In the evening, you may get a vey beautiful view of the sunset. Good choice for a cozy dinner after a beach walk.

Compared to some places in the same area, it is really good, prices in all restaurants are almost the same. Service was quick and good, food looked and tasted good, portions can be increased for the price. Atmosphere was nice directly on the beach with other options indoor and outdoor. They served water and treats for our dog without asking which was nice of them
Faris K — Google review
I ordered "fish & chips" and sadly I never ate so awful dish. Fries were dry and hard, impossible to eat. But "fish" was even worse. I got a few pieces of kibbeling (typical fish & chips should be 1 big piec of fish, not kibelling), but there were almost no fish inside, only ugly oil and a breading. Shame that Dutch are thinking that people will be satisfied from such "fish" spending time at the seaside, where fishes should be delicious.

Nice place to chill and have some bites. The iberico rib fingers were really good and are recommended, we enjoyed it and we would come again.

Great place to soak up the sun. Service was attentive and friendly. My son loved the bounce house and they had many food options for kids. I had a couple of drinks and the nachos, which I raved about. They use melty nacho cheese that doesn’t harden over time, that’s hard to find around here! We will try the sweet potato fries and ribs next time, we saw a few orders pass by and it looked delicious.
Barby N — Google review
The most expensive and least delicious fish and chips I have ever eaten. The food trucks that open every Saturday market have better ones, and you can get better fries all over the Netherlands. I am giving 1 star only because the serving lady was very courteous and friendly, otherwise for the food I would rate it 0/5.
Shaily S — Google review
Went to Twins for the first time and it was better than expected. Service was good (it was a Tuesday evening so not super busy). Kids area where we could watch them play. We got mostly sharables which were expensive but mostly everything on the strand is the same. Kids meals were very big plates, so worth the money. Overall, a good experience and will go back.

It is a foodcourt setting. We tried the martabak house menu and weren't disappointed. The ambiance of the whole place is layback and cozy. The variety of the food were big enough from east to west. Which is good if you come with a group/big family with different tastes.

Its across the road from Central station. It has a variety of food options- kenyan , surinamese, thai, burgers and drinks. There is ample seating areas and toilets are decent. Very interesting concept of a food hub where you can try different dishes of different cuisines and a very nice pub with local beers! The Indonesian store had a very tasty Rames meal including beef, chicken, vegetables and rice! The classic burger was also quite tasty with really decent price!

Was here for a meetup. I ordered a Jasmin tea, no food. While we were waiting for the rest of the group, the staff kept coming to us every five minutes to ask whether we'd already made a decision. We said: we'll wait for the rest of the group. There was also a QR code so we could order ourselves, so them coming back so frequently made me feel very rushed. The general atmosphere of the place looked good! Lots of street-food-style stands and not loud. The location is very central and you get to see outside through the big windows on all sides. Might come here again, if opportunity arises.

One of my close friends fell down your stairs last week. Not the first time this happened , is it? Would you like to see pictures from the hospital? What is your action? Also towards her?
Margriet L — Google review
I attended the Evgeny Kissin piano recital yesterday, the performance itself was incredible, no complaints there. However, my experience at the venue was ruined by the behaviour of a fellow audience member and the staff’s response. I briefly checked my phone (low brightness, sound off) to reply to a message. The elderly woman next to me physically pushed my phone away, not once, but twice. During the intermission, she began shouting at me, calling me “not normal” and claiming I distracted her, despite barely using my phone. I told the woman not to be rude and reminded her that she was the one who crossed the line by invading my personal space and touching me without my consent, twice. She had nothing to say in response, probably expecting me to apologize, but instead of diffusing the situation, her husband jumped in and told my mother, who was sitting next to me, to “educate me,” then acted shocked when I told him I was an adult. As we returned to our seats after the break, a staff member from Amare, who was also an elderly woman, approached me and condescendingly asked, “Do you understand me?” before lecturing me about phone use, clearly tipped off by this couple. I pointed out that multiple people were openly filming the concert, even with flash, yet I was singled out for a private message sent discreetly. I left feeling disrespected because of the unfair treatment. It felt like staff blindly sided with an aggressive elderly couple simply because of their age. If you’re a younger person attending a performance here, be careful who you sit next to, and don’t expect support if you’re harassed by old people. Great concert, but terrible handling of audience interactions. One star for the experience.

From the outside, it looks decent, but there’s nothing too exciting about it. It’s a historic place, but at the moment, a lot of the area is under construction, so it doesn’t feel very special. If you’re already nearby, it’s fine for a quick stop and a couple of photos, but I wouldn’t go out of my way just to visit. There are definitely more interesting spots around.

The Binnenhof, formerly known as the Hof van Holland, is a complex of buildings in downtown The Hague that houses the Dutch Parliament and Government. Although Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, government activities are conducted in The Hague. The Binnenhof is a 15-minute walk from The Hague Central Station. Built in the 13th century, this Gothic-style castle originally served as the residence of Dutch royalty and became a political center in 1584. It is among the top 100 Dutch heritage sites. The Binnenhof is one of the oldest Parliament buildings in the world still in use...

Under extensive renovation until (probably) 2030, but the platform installed just besides it, provides a glimpse of its beauty

Beautiful Parliament office that sits next to the Hofvijver lake, which is also lovely with the fountains flowing, ducks, swimming, and great weather. Definitely one of the sights to see when in the area. The area on the other side is under construction and we could not see a way in to check if tours or anything were available still.

The Binnenhof, meaning "inner court," was built in the 13th century as a hunting lodge for the Counts of Holland and later developed into the country’s political heart. At its center stands the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights), where the King delivers his annual speech on Prinsjesdag (the opening of Parliament). The complex is arranged around a central courtyard with additional small squares at the rear, housing the Dutch Houses of Parliament, the Prime Minister’s office, and key government institutions. Still in use as one of the world’s oldest parliamentary buildings, the Binnenhof has been undergoing major renovations since 2021, expected to finish by 2028 or 2030.

Heritage museum
Van Kleef Distillery Museum, founded in 1842, is a unique and well-known spot in The Hague. It's the last jenever producer in the city and offers free visits with tastings of their local spirits. The distillery produces various types of jenever, including limited editions like the aged Old Chap. As part museum, liquor shop, and tasting center, it provides tours to showcase its distilling equipment and traditional craftsmanship.
The cocktail tastings are a definite must do here. You can experience it in both English or Dutch. 5 cocktails and many good times complete with snacks and good banter. The tasting is done out in a garden that makes you feel like you're not in the middle of a busy city. The people working there love their jobs and were super helpful in helping us with which liqueurs to try and to possibly take home. Take your mum here. She will definitely have a great day out.
Tom B — Google review
A lovely former brewery that still bottles jenever. The facility has an amazing garden! The host do an amazing story about the history of Jenever, the difference between old and new Jenever, the difference between jenever and gin and why it isn't allowed to brew in the city...

Cool spot in the middle of town. Small area inside and a garden in the back. Lots of relics from a different time. Delicious spirits!
Colby R — Google review
It’s a lovely place with an interesting history! I had a lot of fun and will visit again. The service was excellent and so nice. After the tour I was able to taste some liquor. It was very good and I had a wonderful time
Lenna — Google review
What an absolutely fantastic experience. We had booked a tasting session—just a nice little visit to The Hague to knock back some liqueurs and have a cozy chat. It was supposed to last about two hours. But, thanks to our delightful hostess Fleur, we stumbled out four and a half hours later, slightly tipsy and definitely more enlightened. If you ever find yourself in The Hague, this is an absolute must-do. Just visit vankleef.eu—you’ll thank me when you sober up.

Wonderful distillery. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. An amazing range of beverages. Wholeheartedly recommended. If you go at the weekend, it's probably best booking in advance.
Graham H — Google review
A huge part of what makes this place special are the people that work here, from the kitchen staff to the bar, everyone is wonderful! They were more than accommodating, and made us feel welcomed and included with the tasting experience even though we naively walked-in last minute without reservations (reservations ARE required for the guided tasting/tour, which we learned after the fact). The staff were nice and allowed us to join mid-tasting in our very spontaneous visit, which turned into one of my favorite tasting experiences…ever. The bar bites are delicious and pair well with the liqueur. Make sure to get the spicy pepper concoction! Note to self: make reservations to get the full tour next time!

Park
Oostduinpark is a popular spot for dog walking and outdoor activities in The Hague. It offers wide open spaces for running around, but visitors should be mindful of cyclists and occasional horse riders. The park features peaceful dunes and vast areas with curvy tracks for wandering. It's recommended to bring water during winter months as the free water wells may be shut off.
The dunes are very peaceful and skies overwheling sometimes. The park provides a lot of curvy tracks for wanderers and horseriders. The area is quite vast, and you could easily get lost if you wander too much of the tracks without preparing your journey well. Take some water in the wintermonths for Dunea shuts off the free waterwells.

Excellent place to bike and enjoy nature. If you are staying in the area or visiting The Hague, it's a must-see.

A good place for dog walking. Not many bins so keep that in mind, and sometimes there will be people with horses so watch out for that. Also cyclists come and go often here, and they don't like stopping cuz they're lame. But it's a nice wide open space for running around. The carpark can be a bit busy at time, but is also quite large, but long, meaning there may be spaces further down, although I wouldn't rely too much on that.

Brewery
Haagsche Broeder Brouwerij is a unique bar that also functions as a brewery and monastery, with a serene and peaceful atmosphere reflecting its monastic roots. The brewery was established in 2006 when one of the brothers of St. John started brewing as a hobby, which later turned into a small business. Their signature beer, Prior, is known for its dark, strong flavor with a slightly sweet taste.
Amazing place and concept. Great beer, atmosphere and staff. They are changing the beer frequently so you can go and taste something new quite often. Also they can give you recommendations about the beers.
Evgeni P — Google review
Very nice atmosphere with self brewed beer, they only open twice per week, Friday and Saturday. Worth to try.

I found this brewery while I was walking to the main station from the shopping street. I tried the Patmos and gave it a 3.75 on Untappd. The staff were very nice (and ready to help you pick your beer) and the place is chill, perfect place to hang out alone or with friends.
Charriz B — Google review
I came here mid-afternoon on a Saturday. It wasn't busy. I was welcomed and because I was cold, the heater was turned on for me :) I had a flight, which I highly recommend, and every beer was unique. I ordered Kimchi Croquettes (I didn't actually see a menu), which was explained to me. It did take 50 minutes to get those... Which was 35 minutes more than what was explained to me, but that's okay. The service was very attentive, despite the long wait. Btw, the Kimchi Croquettes were kind of like Bitterballens. I would recommend this place and I do plan on coming here again and again :) Update: I've come back a few times and I love it! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and the beers are just wonderful!
Samantha E — Google review
A hard place to find, the the beer is great! Definitely recommend this place if you like beer. They brew their own beer in the back and also sell it in bottles. The host is really nice and takes time to explain the drinks. You can feel the passion.

We stumbled upon their taproom which had only been open for three days! Great service and very kind bartenders. We ordered their blonde and white IPA and both were very delicious! Their taproom is located in the back alley and their storefront is around the corner in the front. Must go!

De Pier in Den Haag, also known as Scheveningen Pier, is a popular recreational spot with both enclosed and open-air decks. It offers a variety of casual restaurants and thrilling activities like bungee jumping. The pier provides an enjoyable experience for visitors, combining leisurely strolls with attractions and dining options. Situated on the Scheveningen boulevard, it serves as a charming location to relax while enjoying scenic views of the North Sea.
Great pier! It was extremely windy outside. Inside the pier you could hear the wind, but it was cozy and the ocean view is great. There are a lot of food options to choose from, clean facilities and nice atteactions like a ferries wheel, zip line and Bungee jumping (we only came for food). It's nice to be able to choose between the two decks.

Located at Scheveningen Pier is the Netherlands' first Ferris wheel, which hovers over the sea and offers spectacular views of the 11 km long beach and the skyline of The Hague. A ride on the Ferris wheel takes about 20 minutes. The enclosed cabins are air-conditioned. Tickets for the Ferris wheel can be purchased online.

De Pier in The Hague is a vibrant and iconic destination that offers a truly memorable experience on the Dutch coast. The location combines beautiful views of the North Sea, unique attractions like the Ferris wheel over the water, and a lively boardwalk with something for everyone, from foodies to thrill-seekers. The panoramic views from De Pier are simply breathtaking, whether you're enjoying a drink on the terrace, savoring local cuisine at one of the restaurants, or taking a ride on the Ferris wheel. Watching the sunset over the beach from this spot is an unforgettable highlight. De Pier is a must-visit when in The Hague. Whether you're after beautiful ocean views, great food and drinks, or some thrilling activities, you'll leave with wonderful memories and a desire to return.

⭐ De Pier – A must-visit by the sea! Absolutely loved my time at De Pier! 🌊 Beautiful views of the North Sea, cool ocean breeze, and a lively boardwalk full of food, drinks, and fun activities. Whether you’re looking to relax, take amazing photos, or just enjoy a nice walk over the water – this place is perfect. Bonus: there’s even a bungee jump and Ferris wheel for thrill-seekers! 🎡 Great spot to spend an afternoon – highly recommended!

De Pier in Scheveningen offers a fantastic mix of seaside fun and great views. The long pier stretching out over the North Sea provides a unique setting for a stroll, with plenty of food stalls, cafés and the highlight: the Ferris wheel and bungee‑/zip‑line activities. On the practical side: the weather and wind can really impact comfort (bring a jacket!), and some visitors feel parts of the pier are showing their age, especially upstairs and in the facilities. Overall: a lively, photo‑worthy destination that works well for an afternoon out by the sea.

Beautiful place to walk on / through or by when visiting the beach. > Great view from any place on the Pier with many areas to take a break and sit down. > Many stores and things to look at, to do or food to eat. > Horribly communicated opening and closing times / path ways, being the only downside. Oh and great to stay under if you need shelter from the sun!

The Atlantikwall Museum Scheveningen is a hidden gem that features extensively underground, with sections of the wall dating back to World War II. The museum has an interesting walk through the forest path and includes two bunkers from the war.
Had a tour here, was 2hrs of history and it was well worth the time
Matthew C — Google review
Very unique experience with interesting history that doesn't overstay its welcome, however it's somewhat difficult to find and they're severely understaffed, as it took forever for me to talk to an employee and show my tickets.
Walter P — Google review
After a morning jog I decided to spontaneously visit the bunker. There were only two other english speaking people (visitors) there so we had a tourguide for „ourselves“. His name was BEN and he was very friendly and told us a lot of interesting facts about the history of this particular bunker as well as the gigantic atlantic wall. Even if you are not into world war history, the things that Ben told us were easy to understand and gave a good and complex enough picture of what had happened. Ben himself seems to know A LOT and you can tell he loves to show people round. So thank you for that!!!

The guided tour in English was hands down one of the best tours I ever had. Thanks to our guide for the very interesting 1.5 hours!

A really fine museum run by a group of voluntary workers who "excavate" these bunkers to maintain their history. For 8€ per person, we received a 90-minute guided tour (in German) by a gentleman with really in-depth knowledge of bunker construction and the context to The Hague. 3 bunkers are accessible and have been restored with great care to detail. Even if you are not into military technology, I highly recommend a visit. @Frans (?): Up the Irons!

Small yet very informative museum, costs 3 euro for adult and 1 euro for children, and it's worth the price. The information provided by this museum is very detail. Only open for certain specific times so make sure you check the website first before visiting. I went to Den Haag on Sunday just to visit this museum (because this museum is only open on Sundays). The museum guides are very proficient in English.
Khairunnisa F — Google review
Tucked away in a wooded area you will find this museum. The staff will direct you to a website which has an audio tour. Follow the signs around the bunker and use the correct number on the app to listen to information about each exhibit. Definitely recommend a visit. Also the ticket gives you access to another bunker which has two videos about the V2 bombs used by the Nazis and the bombing of Den Haag. Highly recommend.

Nice beach, professional equipment and very competent teachers. The three day beginners course is highly recommended for everyone who wants to learn how to kite!
Jan P — Google review
I would not recommend this Kitesurfing school. The owner is very hard to communicate with - I know because I worked there last season and it caused me a lot of disappointment and stress. There are plenty better managed schools, you might want to check one with a base on the beach - less walking to the spot and a place to chill before and after the lesson. On top of that, in most other schools you get smaller groups for one instructor, meaning you have more feedback and time with the kite - you learn faster and in a nicer, more careful environment. This might be one of the cheapest options, but is far from the best. Kiting is a great sport so you might want to introduce yourself to it at a nicer school. All of this is of course only my opinion, however I feel obligated to share my experiences to prevent anyone from possible disappointment.
Krystian K — Google review
This school can not be taken serious! It is basically fraud. You have to pay for multible lessons and at the end, you can not take them. If the owner decides he does not feel like giving lessons (they will tell you the wind is the problen, even if other kiteschools give lessons) they just chancel them. And at the end, you dont event get the money back! Thats right. You travel there and pay for the lessons. And then they cancel them and refuse to give you the money back. That is clearly not legal!
Spiritan 1 — Google review
Because of the limited wind days, it was simply not possible to stand on a board after having paid for 3 days of lessons within our one week holiday. That's a pitty, no partial refund possible... I suggest you book individual lessons and pay afterwards and not upfront as I did. I tried to talk to the organizer but he said: "no one ever get's a refund"...

(Translated by Google) I took a package of 3 lessons, received as a birthday gift (super nice, you think), but the lessons were canceled all summer due to the weather conditions. As a wave surfer, I understand very well that it can happen. Unfortunately, due to a knee injury I was unable to participate in the last lesson. Now recovered, I would like to try it again. I contacted the school and even suggested booking an extra lesson if I could still use my last lesson. "No, none of that is possible because of the policy," which is a shame. Some leniency towards your customers is at least appropriate. You can apparently cancel the lesson any time for a year, but if you cannot take the lesson due to circumstances, a suitable solution will simply not be considered. Very unprofessional. Zeer onprofessioneel.
