Shopping
Yumbo Centre is a popular spot for the gay community in Gran Canaria, particularly in Playa del Ingles. By day, it's a shopping center, but at night it transforms into a vibrant hub of nightlife with various LGBT-friendly bars and clubs. The area caters to different interests such as bears, leather, mature men, drag shows, and more. It's also known for hosting specialist discos and drag performances.
Absolutely brilliant experience here, me & my partner arrived here on a Sunday not to our own knowledge there was a clubbing session going on near downstairs Sparkles, it was one of the best times of my life it had the best music going. I had the time of my life. If you’re a homosexual like me try Mykonos up on the third floor? That club is immense. I went there the following day & had a brilliant dance.
Andrew B — Google review
Visited the shopping centre during day as didn't feel appropriate to take kids in the evening reading some of the previous reviews, probably the right call! So this review solely based on going during the day and not seeing some of the 'magic' that others have mentioned! The shopping centre is like a maze of different shops with many cafes, bars and restaurants. No idea if we managed to walk round all parts of it as we was up and down different stairs. Seemed like a good place if you want to get some souvenirs or a cheap football shirt - we certainly found the place a bit different...! Wasn't particularly busy when we went either (mid afternoon).
Andrew C — Google review
Stay upstairs if your shopping. Go downstairs and see a fantastically different bit of culture. We didn't stay late. The usual load of tut shops are waiting upstairs and around the perimeter for the whole family. Get the shutters up on the closed premises, the fountain working again and this place will be extra lit Gran Can.
Max D — Google review
We visited the Yumbo 7 times mainly to eat. Saw some drag artists which was good. We went on Fetish week which we didn't realise it was that week until we got there. It was extremely busy and boy it was very different from our normal holiday. There's lots of stalls and shops so if you like shopping it's good for that. We also played mini golf.

A meeting Place for everyone. Bars, pubs and dance club. Less suitable for families with small children in the evening

GO DIVING center

Let's Go Diving in Gran Canaria offers diving trips all year round, thanks to the consistently good weather and visibility of around 30 meters at most dive sites. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced diver, the instructors like Gianni and Javier provide excellent guidance and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. From night dives to perfecting buoyancy, they offer diverse opportunities for underwater exploration.
A fantastic couple of days diving with the Go Diving team from Playa del Ingles. Very quick response to my website booking request and everything as advertised. These guys were chosen because they operate the only solid-hulled dive boat on the island as I struggle a bit (lot) with zodiacs etc nowadays (old git). Hotel pick-up about 0915 is very sociable and generally back at hotel by 3pm for other activities/siesta. Rental kit, if required, is on the boat and I had no issues with my items (booked in advance but lots of items available if requested size is not quite right). The boat has 2 "relaxation" areas on top and at the front with a dry galley/teaching area inside from the dive deck and a fridge containing various cold drinks at just €1 a go (except the new coconut drinks - €2.50). Also, coffee was offered when I boarded with pastries between dives. The diving on the south coast was much better than I expected and I saw a couple of angel sharks, large butterfly rays, stingrays, large schools of barracuda and huge shoals of reef fish. Plenty smaller critters also. Go Diving exceeded my expectations. Gianni, Scott and the boat captain (apologies can't remember name) provided a fun but efficient dive experience. Philippines..........🤔😉 (I'll upload photos/videos once I work out how to do it from my new camera 🤯)
Lee C — Google review
We did amazing boat dives with Gianni! It was great! The whole team of Let's Go Diving is super kind and they make you have a fantastic and fun day! We saw some amazing rays, angel sharks, and many many more fish! When we come back to Gran Canaria, we will come back to Let's Go Diving!
Christa H — Google review
Absolutely life-changing experience! I did my Zero to Hero program at this diving center, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of my life. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like part of the family — everyone is so warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Gianni brings such a light-hearted, fun energy to every dive and lesson. His humor and positive attitude make even the most challenging days enjoyable. Scott, on the other hand, is the epitome of professionalism — patient, knowledgeable, and always leading by example. Together, they strike the perfect balance between fun and focus. They don’t just teach you to dive; they take you to the best dive spots on the island, each one more breathtaking than the last. The variety of sites and the way they tailor each dive to your level and goals really sets this center apart. Beyond becoming a Divemaster, I grew so much as a person thanks to both Gianni and Scott. Their guidance, support, and belief in me helped shape not only my skills underwater but also my confidence above it. If you’re thinking about learning to dive or taking your training to the next level — do it here. You won’t just become a better diver; you’ll become a better version of yourself.

Just finished an amazing diving week with Gianni and Scott - the owners of Go Diving - ! We did a complete week (10 dives) with a good mixture of boat- and shore dives! Diving with both of them was an absolute pleasure since they want you to have the best experience! So if you want to have a chilled atmosphere but also pretty skilled instructors, then go for go diving!
Sören G — Google review
Absolutely incredible diving experience with GO DIVING! A big thank you to Gianni, the owner, and Mirco — both outstanding dive guides and great company on the boat. Everything was perfectly organized, with spot-on pickup and drop-off at our hotel. We explored two fantastic dive sites: Pasito Blanco and the unique Popcorn Reef — both breathtaking. The boat Atlantis was just great — spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for the day. Professional, friendly, and smooth from start to finish. Highly recommended!

If Poseidon himself opened a dive shop, it would be Go Diving Maspalomas. I went in expecting to see some fish — I left spiritually reborn, one with the sea. The instructors are half-mermaid, half-therapist, and 100% legends. 11/10 would let them throw me off a boat again.
Masaki M — Google review
After a two-year break, I had six wonderful dives on the island: Two shore dives in Tufia, a small coastal town near the airport, and four boat dives. The guides, Scott and Gianni, were excellent—very relaxed and explained everything calmly. They also pointed out a wide variety of marine life. One of the highlights was seeing an angel shark. Communication in advance via WhatsApp was also very pleasant and easy.
Eric K — Google review
We went in march this year and had a great experience. I only had <10 dives under my belt but I felt very comfortable and had a great time among the divers. I did a day of boat dives and a day of shore dives, truly enjoyed both! Would definitely go with them again, thanks a lot Gianni!

Shopping Center Gran Chaparral is a popular open-air destination, especially among Dutch tourists. It features British pubs and is known for being a great place to watch football while enjoying the sunny weather with a cold beer. Visitors can find affordable options at Kim's bar and enjoy good food as well as holiday gifts. The center offers various dining options, including the Britannia restaurant, which serves fresh food and reasonably priced drinks.
A nice center that is being revived. During COVID the center was hit hard like most but today the bounce back is stronger than most. Support the centers local businesses so they can continue to be here next time you arrive for your holiday. Don't forget members off staff work hard and a tip goes along way . They are human not dogs . The center has alot to offer breakfast ,lunch ,dinner ,night life , daytime hospitality and entertainment places such as arcade. The center also has some very historic hand painted ceramic work , well worth a look for the admiring eye. 🖼️

Not many businesses with constant opening days or hours, the few that you can see open from the front are good, and there's the Heineken cafe at the back which is always popular, however there are a lot of empty establishments there. Unless you know what you are going for, then it's not worth paying a visit. The British bars and restaurants do excellent food and is worth a visit if you are in the area, and Al's bar is good for nightly entertainment.

Shame but it's dead apart from the Heineken bar

A very tired run down old shopping centre. A few Dutch restaurants hanging on for dear life a couple of car hire an English Café the usual tourist shops selling tat.

Cita Shopping Center is a classic mall with a variety of shops, services, eateries, and bars. It's part of the vibrant gay nightlife scene in Playa del Ingles, along with the Yumbo center. The center spans 23,000 square meters and houses over 1300 businesses including fashion stores, electronics shops, jewelry stores, bars, cafes, and restaurants.
I just like this shopping centre lots of characters outside the centre great bargains in the shops and proper food and drink great place not everybody agrees

So bad it’s good. Very run down but it’s incredibly quirky. Inside is a ragtag bunch of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, sex fetish places. It is mainly populated with German tourists who are 60+ which always makes for an odd atmosphere. Has toilets available but for some weird reason the male cubicles lack any toilet roll and even lack toilet roll holders as if to confirm hey hadn’t even considered it as a possibility.
Leaburn — Google review
Not much happing here. Spar shop is handy but lacks fresh meats, chicken and fish. No atmosphere. The restaurant on the ground floor looking out into the square is nice to pass a hour or so. Strange layout and outside is like something from Universal park. Very different to your standard shopping centre. Pubs up top are very smokey and mainly English and Scots. Its not for everyone.
Patrick D — Google review
It looks epic on the outside, many photo opportunities, also beautiful painted benches inside, but it has a feeling of an abandoned urbex building and has seen better days. Lots of shops or restaurants were closed when we were there and the rest can feel like an odd mix but there are plenty cool shops like a beautiful crystal shop and bunch of the typical touristy trinkety shops, great for getting a souvenir, also a cute ceramics and soaps shop on the upper floor. Nice shoppers, most of them not too pushy. We even found free public bathroom which was in a decent state (close to the crystal shop). I think the Cita is worth visiting but I would kinda not want to go alone :D

This review isn’t about the shopping centre it’s about “New Gold jewellery shop” amazing lady in there sells NOMINATION charms and accessories. i got a NOMINATION charm bracelet from my birthday and couldn’t find anywhere in the area that sold them but then accidentally stumbled across this place that sells them. thought i’d add to google maps in case anyone else wants to get a charm while on holiday. the lady was so kind and didn’t try to annoyingly upsell me and she showed me how to attach the charm. the shopping centre it’s self feels so dodgy but that shop (picture attached) was so lovely

Looks like stuck in time. Wasn't touched from when it was new. Abstract, weird, odd but very interesting looking place from outside. Inside is just terrible, lots of tunnels you go around just to find nothing. Map on entrance would be nice. Got great deal on perfumes in Douglas shop there tho
Lukas L — Google review
This is the most kitsch shopping centre I have ever seen. It is such a mix of everything, but mostly cheap knockoffs, supermarkets and some pubs/bars/restaurants that I guess are good value for money if you are into these kind of places. Honestly, I was not impressed, but I would go just to see it as a curiosity.
Stefan P — Google review
It’s worth a visit ( after a few drinks) to marvel at the external decor. Clearly in its day it was an attraction. There are shops that are open and trading but visit during the day, and don’t go downstairs.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant area of Maspalomas, Britannia stands out as one of Gran Canaria's most beloved British restaurants. Renowned for its hearty traditional English breakfasts and delightful homemade dishes, this eatery is a haven for those craving a taste of home. Diners rave about the freshly prepared fish served with hand-cut chips and the mouthwatering steak pie that keeps patrons coming back for more.
Good price for breakfast. Only 12€ for two persons. Food was fine, big portion. Nothing fancy but not bad. We liked it.

I know you shouldn’t go on holiday and eat English food, but when you’ve got a horrific Yumbo Centre related hangover, only one thing can help. Superb hangover cure in the form of a great Full English breakfast. Friendly service from the two gents running the place too.

While on vacation in Gran Canaria, I had the opportunity to visit Tango Tapas, a highly recommended restaurant known for serving the best tapas in town. Not only were the tapas outstanding, but they were also considered the best throughout the entire island. The portion sizes were perfectly balanced and offered at a reasonable price, allowing guests to create their own satisfying meals. Each dish was exquisite and left a lasting impression.
Fantastic food! Real authentic tapas dishes, good portion sizes and very tasty. Service was good and staff are very friendly. We was told they are new owners and they were great. Nice decor too.

We had a fantastic experience here! The food was excellent, and the service was warm and attentive. I would recommend this place to everyone. Very good tapas and excellent house wines!
Janne H — Google review
We are currently on holiday in Gran Canaria and really wanted to go out for tapas. Friends of ours recommended the restaurant, saying it was the best tapas in town. So we went. Not only would we say that they are the best tapas in town, but also on the whole island. The portion sizes are so perfect that you can put together the meal of your choice at a more than fair price! The individual dishes come one after the other, and simply every one of them is to die for! Whenever we are back in Gran Canaria - this tapas bar is a must! And you, dear reader, should do the same!

By far the best tapas restaurant on the islands. The food was amazing and waiter Juan provided the unmatched atmosphere. We will definitely be back on our next visit.
Lars S — Google review
We enjoyed the food and ambience. Can't say that the seating certainly that we had was particularly comfortable, especially for someone with a back condition. I would advise making in a reservation and though good food - yes. I'm not convinced it's worthy of the fine reputation/pricing.

Awful service. Got some of the tapas before the drinks, and we only got 4 out 5 drinks. Food was incredibly slow and not very good. Young sweedish waiter was not of much help. We ended up having to cancel the last dish, as we did not have time to wait for it but they still tried to charge us for it. Do not recommend this place and will not come here again.

Fast food restaurant
Burger King, a popular fast-food chain, offers grilled burgers, fries, and shakes. The option to dine outside is available for those who prefer it over takeout. Despite the long lines due to their process of taking orders, preparing them fresh on the spot and serving promptly gives customers a sense of personalized service. However, it is advisable to avoid peak times to prevent delays. The staff members are pleasant and efficient in their service.
Easy location in the centre of yumbo & Food has been nice everytime I've been so all good 👍🏼😊 the nuggets ESPECIALLY were delicious 😋 very convenient for a quick fast food bite to eat.

The vegans got a vegan hamburger (without mayonnaise), french fries, vegan nuggets and lots of ketchup. The carnivore got a hamburger and a beer , that he accidentally dropped on the way to the seating area. The lady working gave him another beer for free and was very quick cleaning the spill up.

I have never eaten a worse burger in my life, cold cheese, rubbery meat, bacon, unknown taste
Archie A — Google review
One of the ordering machines was broken, and the other one didn’t accept card payments — with no sign or warning about it. I had to restart my order from scratch on the second machine. Although the tables have plastic number stands, there’s no table service. My Krispper sandwich tasted stale and the chicken was quite dry. The only good thing was the fast service — probably because my sandwich had been sitting there for a while already.

Everything you would except from Burger King. Efficient service and Burger King quality. Next to bars and a queen show for entertainment.

Since it was not busy, the food was prepared to orders and was fresh. When placing the order, we did not see that the card reading machine was not working, therefore, we had to use a different ordering screen and start our order from scratch.
Ingrida K — Google review
This is the worse Burger King in my life! I ordered from the machine. It did not have paper so I had no clue what order it was. I told to the staff 2 times about no paper and they did not fill it or provide me a copy of the order. After 20 minutes of ignoring us I started screaming that I want a copy of the ticket and the order and an explanation why it still misses paper in the machine. A rude employee started arguing with me about I should not scream. They finally provided the order without the take away bag which I paid for. A nightmare!!!
ANDERSON T — Google review
You know....this food is on the Waffle House scale for drunks. Pros: price, convenience & hours operation & large soft drinks & the people working there (very friendly). Cons: odd breading on the chicken fillet, processed cheese slices, soggy onion rings, smokers, bacon bits on the bun? It felt like someone poured a bunch of flavors in a bowl & hoped people would be distracted. I feel confident that this meal will exit quicker than it entered.

Galician restaurant
Restaurante Marisquería Rías Bajas is a top dining spot in Gran Canaria, known for its high professionalism and quality. The menu features Galician recipes, offering a variety of paella, seafood, steak, cocktails, aperitifs, and Spanish wine. Situated in Maspalomas with an unbeatable location on the waterfront promenade of Meloneras, this restaurant offers impeccable service and an unmissable dining experience.
Good experience overall. A bit on the more expensive side, but worth it. And a more "fine dining" experience. We were welcomed and shown to a table by a friendly man. Service was good and friendly as well. Had the ham croquettes which were really, really good. The taste and also the consistency of the mashed potatoes inside the croquettes were great. I also had the rack of lamb suckling, which was very good, too. Although, some of the potatoes that it came with were quite salty near the bottom. I'm not sure where the saltyness was coming from, if it was the potatoes or if it was the onions or some of the sauce. Aside from this, it was a pleasant experience. Would recommend and return.

Looks like a clean and nice restaurant with professional staff, but the experience was not so pleasant. They have menus in many languages, but are unfortunately not able to explain it or offer guidance with the food. I ordered Grilled prawns from Huelva at a price of 23.30 euros. Clearly you would think that a main course comes with a side order for that price!??? A plate of overcooked prawns was all I got… My son ordered the Gratin spider crab Txangurro, and that was not either explained it was a soup… After being served the food, no one paid us any attention! Not asking how the food was, not offering more drinks! I had to WAVE to the waiter to get his attention. If they didn’t like the looks of us, they should have turned us away at the door! Or you treat all customers the same (they were swarming around the other guests around us…). After complaining I got another dish of monkfish that was lovely! Ate quickly as the rest of the family were done and got up and left. Won’t be back.
Sofie A — Google review
We had the grilled fish assortment and, it was the freshest, the most moist and tender fillet of fishes we have ever had! Although the food is pricey when compared to the average local seafood restaurants, in my opinion, it reflects the quality of the food served. I gave 4 stars for service as the waiters couldn't tell us the types of fish on the platter, which was somewhat disappointing. Please also don't be fooled when they bring a basket of bread to the table, serving them as if they are complimentary, as you will be charged over two euros per bread. Overall, this place is highly recommended for an exceptional gastronomic experience!
S N — Google review
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! The food is just incredible and the service is just another level!! Well done team, you have perfected it!! Worth flying to Gran Canaria just to have a meal at Rías Bajas. We ate here nearly everyday of our holiday, it was just that good!!

Black rice, razor clams and chopitos were absolutely amazing! Although the paella was a bit too saucy and thick for our liking, we asked them to make it dry and crispy (socarat) but unfortunately they weren’t able to do it. Some servers were extremely friendly however some were not so friendly. Overall, a good restaurant to go to in Maspalomas.

Excellent seafood restaurant!! Tender delicious octopus, perfectly cooked sizzling shrimp with garlic, and the paella was perfect. Service was great. Super friendly and attentive! Wanted to try the salt baked sea bass but will have to save that for next time. Highly recommend if you love seafood.

Nice , cozy place. Quite and lovely atmosphere, one thing to want say the food can much better ( mean the ingredients are fresh, fish and seafood fresh but the time cooking should be less, everything was overcook, and lots of souse wich is completely kills the flavor of the seafood ) the menu of desserts very boring.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Dunas de Maspalomas, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Playa del Inglés. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Deserts
Dunas de Maspalomas is a 998-acre arid coastal nature reserve featuring desert-like sand dunes. Classified as a Protected Natural Site in 1944, these golden sand mountains extend for almost six kilometers and can reach heights of almost 25 meters. Despite being a popular location, the area offers incredible scenery and tranquility. It's recommended to visit at sunrise for a quieter and peaceful experience due to its popularity among tourists.
Pretty easy access on foot, a bit of a struggle to find parking. Breathtaking views, especially at sunset. Walking barefoot is an amazing experience, and a MUST! Great ice cream near by. Good destination for a family trip or just by yourself.

One of the most unique spots on the island. Suitable for all age groups. Breathtaking sunset views from the dune ridges. Sunset (in October) was between 6 and 7 Highly recommend taking a stroll down the beach to the light house. The sun sets right behind it with spectacular views

Amazing place... Other wolrly dunes , behind a long beach.. . There's a mix of naturist and clothed visitors, but nobody seems to care and it works well.. you could wonder for hours either clothed or not.. .. the dunes themselves are quite difficult to walk through, especially when it's hot, so make sure you take plenty of water...
Jamie T — Google review
I would never have thought that such a natural refuge could exist right in the middle of a tourist hotspot. And even if it did, I wouldn’t have expected it to be so pleasantly uncrowded (well, except for the beach). But the dune area is large enough that even when others are walking there, it never feels crowded. In some parts you don’t see anyone at all. Thankfully, most people respect the rule not to leave the official paths, helping to preserve the nature. You can easily spend two or three hours exploring the area.
Dirk S — Google review
Incredibly beautiful but beware if you go w a tour. We were given just 10-15 min and that's not even enough to go to the toilet as there is only one female cubicle for the public loo. There are no souvenir shops and many ppl are illegally running around the dunes, which is irritating. Go when its overcast otherwise this is too hot and only one cafe to sit down. No parking. There is literally nothing to buy or enjoy here other than to walk the three designated routes.
L J — Google review
A challenging walk throughout the warm sandy hills. Worth walking along the beach which can be much easier and approx 3miles stretch. However, be aware as will come across a nudist section which is right in the middle of the beach. During a windy time sand is everywhere and big waves 🌊 in presence.
H A — Google review
This is a beautiful protected area. It really did surprise me how large the area is. It was a shame to see the human ‘effect’ of tampering on some of the dunes with hand written names - it did take away from the experience. There are signs that suggest you shouldn’t walk along the dune tops to preserve the dunes, from the beachside however you can access the dunes and be respectable to the areas by walking alongside the dunes rather than over them.
Danielle A — Google review
A small desert on an island — such an amazing place! There are several beaches nearby and plenty of spots to eat or grab a quick snack, something for every taste. The sunsets and sunrises are absolutely beautiful. If you go on a sunny day, especially when the sun is high, make sure to wear something on your feet so the sand doesn’t burn, cover your head, and take some water with you!

Paseo Marítimo, also known as the boardwalk, is a picturesque seaside promenade that stretches from San Agustin to Maspalomas Dunes and El Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse. It offers stunning views of the dunes and the sea, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or sunbathing. The area is lined with shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants catering to various budgets and tastes.

Went down to where the main tourist area is, there is a large number of places to eat and drink, most with seating areas overlooking the beach and Southern Atlantic. The selection of food goes from Macdonalds, Chinese food, traditional Spanish/Canarian food to Seafood, there are also the standard touristy souvenir shops in amongst the restaurants. The normal downside of places like this are the persistent street sellers, who will keep approaching you even when told no before.
Andy — Google review
Went down to look at the Southern Atlantic and have lunch. Plenty of places to choose from most with views over the beach and shoreline. One problem is the number of hawkers trying to sell you something and they keep coming back, a shake of the head usually works.

English Beach, located on Gran Canaria's southernmost tip, is a bustling area popular with tourists due to its numerous hotels, eateries, and shopping options. The beach features a sprawling strip of biscuit-colored sand that stretches for nearly three kilometers and is adorned with unique rolling dunes. Visitors can enjoy a mix of big-name chain restaurants and independent beach bars along the shoreline. Lined with hotels and shops, this certified tourist haven attracts families and nature enthusiasts from around the world.
Wide beach with good bar facilities , with beautiful views of the famous Maspalomas dunes . On hot days a pleasantly cooling wind with ocean breeze , blowing almost always .

A nice enough beach, but was very busy on our visit. Has a few people walking up and down trying to sell you large blankets, but they didn't seem too pushy or anything. Be careful if you have small kids and are walking to the Dunes from here as part of it is a nudist beach! (Took a bit of explaining to the small people...!)

Love this beach!I had such an amazing experience here that I felt it deserved a detailed review. The beach is incredibly spacious, which makes it perfect whether you want to relax quietly, play games, or go for long walks along the shore. Even when it’s busy, it never feels overcrowded because there are so many spots to choose from. One of the things I appreciated most was how affordable the sun beds were. It’s great to be able to spend the whole day comfortably without feeling like you’re overspending. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafés just steps away from the sand, offering everything from quick snacks to full meals. Whether you’re in the mood for seafood, local dishes, or just a refreshing drink, you’ll find plenty of options. The atmosphere overall is relaxed and welcoming, making it an ideal place for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind by the water. The water is clean, the views are beautiful, and the whole area is very well maintained. I would absolutely recommend this beach to anyone visiting the area. It’s the kind of place you keep wanting to come back to again and again!
Cosmin T — Google review
Of course this is not the nicest beach in Gran Canaria, Playa del Ingles in general is not that picturesque. However this beach is huge and the coastline goes on for miles. As a result you get a lot of privacy and can sit peacefully without sitting on top of anyone else. And yes, some parts of the beach are nude, but they’re usually hidden and no one’s walking around flashing anyone! The beach was clean and the water was a beautiful blue colour. If you’re staying at a nice resort here, this beach will do, but personally I’d stay near Puerto Rico / Amadores where the beaches are more ethereal. Of course, you can always take the public bus there :)
Noemi — Google review
Great beach, nice smooth entry in the ocean. Only downside are toilets as they are not available? Not sure as I’ve tried a few places and they charge to use(fair enough) but council should do something close to the beach even with money. As nudist we haven’t seen as we were close to jet skying and no issues there.
Cosmin-Alexandru B — Google review
If you’re looking for a more commercial beach close to higher-end hotels, this is the place for you. The famous dunes are just a short walk away and perfect for a stroll. If you like to have everything available on-site and don’t enjoy carrying extra stuff with you, this beach is definitely a good fit.

Playa del inglés gran canaria

Playa del Inglés, located on the southern coast of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, is a bustling resort town known for its vibrant nightlife and long sandy beach. The area is filled with numerous restaurants, bars, and open-air shopping centers offering 2-for-1 deals all day. The beach itself stretches for a considerable distance but may require navigating stairs depending on your accommodation.
The dunes are a unique and must-see sight on Gran Canaria. At a depth of 3–4 meters, you’ll enter the zone of seagrasses, where the biodiversity is higher compared to the monotone sandy bottoms found in the shallower areas near the beach. Here, you may encounter some interesting fish and marine life. However, I found a glass, probably dropped from the boat. Foot-washing stations are available at the beach exit. The sunsets here are truly spectacular and worth experiencing.

Playa del Ingles, the centre of beach in Maspalomas. Lots of water sports, and the market goes on for ever, with food and drink outlets, jewellery, souvenirs and beach goodies. The beach takes you into the famous dunes. There is a marked route through the dunes to help keep their natural beauty.

The Kasbah Shopping Center is a vibrant open-air mall in Gran Canaria, known for its diverse range of retailers, bars, and restaurants. It's a popular tourist destination with options like the Pacha Gran Canaria nightclub nearby. The area also offers lively party destinations such as Plaza and Yumbo shopping center. While some parts have seen decline, there are plans for redevelopment. Visitors can enjoy great outlets, dining options, and live music in the evenings.
Lovely place to be in the evening , to watch the dancing

Used to love this place, but what a sorry state it finds itself in now. 80% deserted or burnt out, mainly populated by drunks, junkies and street beggars, plus flies, millions of them!!! Great shame but it's time to tear it all down and start again with something up to date. Only thing that has been looked after is the beautiful church.
SteveplusChris — Google review
Sadly and like many of the surrounding centres this centre is in a state of managed decline. It’s better than most with a central square that is clearly used in the evenings. The surrounding shops are terrible with the exception of the Dino express shop and the smell of cannabis wafts out of the complex. A radical rethink is needed but a bulldozer may be the best option.
Andrew B — Google review
Some good bargains for drink and cigs, but tbh the place is a bit seedy. Dodgy looking lads loitering next to closed shops hard to tell if they were selling gear or were for rent.
Sean S — Google review
Lots of bars and nightclubs and good restaurants near here, better than Yumbo if you're straight
Andrew G — Google review
There were only a few shops open. There are a lot of shops that are empty, which makes it a bit of a lonely and boring place.
Daan V — Google review
Well, how to describe? The entire center is missing a concept. Most places open were some pubs and restaurants, which is okay for the evening. Unfortunately there is not a lot of different types of them. None of them was really crowded or in someway special. But the most annoying thing is that there is promotion for each pub on the street. All the time those promotors are nearly trying to push you in. The upside was some free live music.

The Tipsy Hammock bar, situated in the heart of Playa del Ingles, is a haven for live music enthusiasts. With regular performances by talented musicians, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the sunset over the sea with a refreshing drink or snack. Nestled in a picturesque beachfront location, this tropical-themed bar offers a relaxed ambiance complete with comfortable hammocks and sun loungers. The natural surroundings and tranquil atmosphere contribute to its laid-back vibe.
Such a nice, trendy en fun bar. The staff is lovely, and so are the drinks. High quality cocktails. The food was amazing. Because it’s close to the beach, there is a cool breeze that makes it even on the hotter days bearable to sit. And the live music makes the experience complete. The place is populair so would recommend to make a reservation or if you don’t mind to wait a bit for a table.

We sought out this bar after a recommendation from another tourist. We were not disappointed! This place is lively with an amazing vibe. The lady playing the electric saxophone was brilliant, with a really varied choice of music. We tried the quesadilla and it was top notch. I had a lovely cocktail and it was really nice to find some different ones on the menu. When we next return to Maspolomas we'll make a point of stopping here. Huge shout out to the staff who really make the place what it is.

We had the seafood plate which was lush (octopus was to die for!), Pizza, really good, and Classico burger, great taste but patty little bit well done and compact for me, fries had a good taste but little bit too soggy. dip was nice and the little corn cob awesome!! will definitely go back next time. 🔥 Lots of live performances aswell

Really great spot for cocktails that we visited a couple of times during our stay. There's a large variety of cocktails on offer, many with their own twist. We also ate one evening, the ribs were particually good and fell off the bone! Both times we went they had someone playing guitar and then a DJ later in the evening, so created a good atmosphere. It was busy both times, but they also have seating upstairs, so I imagine you'll almost always get a seat.

We really enjoyed our evening at Tipsy Hammock Bar! The atmosphere was fantastic – great vibes, delicious drinks, and even better food. The service was friendly and attentive, and the music made the night even more special. We had a live singer first, followed by a really good DJ (@JONNAYB.J). Overall, we can absolutely recommend this place!

I recommend TIPSY HAMMOCK, it’s the liveliest place in the area. The singer was entertaining, and the lemonades were excellent. The food was good. The only thing we didn’t like was that we had to beg the staff to take our order, and even then they kept forgetting about us — the waiting time was unbelievable.

Great place for a drink and afternoon entertainment. The food is ok, chips we were oliy and soggy, onion rings bland. The Tacos and chicken wings we were decent. We did like the atmosphere and the singer was entertaining. Priced for the UK patrons so much more expensive than the rest of the bars down the beach strip.

Came here as a treat meal for the last night of the holiday and it did not disappoint. The menu has a good choice of traditional Steakhouse and Tex Mex with some Spanish dishes. I went for the Pan Catalan and the Argentine Fillet Steak, both were delicious with the portions very generous. The starter could have been a lunch option in itself. I used to go to an Argentine restaurant in London South Kensington when I worked there and would say the steaks here are of comparable quality, right down to the rosemary marinade. Service is very friendly and attentive and I would definitely come back when I'm next in GC.

Just had a meal as a big group. Food was fantastic. Had starters, main and desert, along with a few bottles of wine. Came in good time and cooked to perfection! Can't recommend this place enough. 5*
Chris D — Google review
If we could give this place six stars, we would. El Rancho was easily the classiest and most romantic restaurant we visited in Gran Canaria — a true highlight of our honeymoon. The moment you walk down the steps into the dining area, you feel transported somewhere elegant yet warm. The décor, the lighting, even the carved wooden menu covers all whisper quality. It’s quiet, relaxed, and beautifully kept — spotless, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish. We dined here twice, both times after 9 p.m., when the evening rush had eased, and every visit felt like a private occasion. The service was flawless — our waiter had that perfect “Alfred from Batman” charm: professional, witty, and attentive without ever hovering. The food? Outstanding. We started with wings, followed by a rack of ribs that fell clean off the bone, served with perfectly crisp chips. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The desserts were just as memorable — rich, well-presented, and the ideal finish. Prices are a touch higher than average, but for the standard you get, it’s worth every cent. To top it all off, each meal ended with a complimentary shot of local honey rum — the perfect sweet ending to an already perfect evening. El Rancho truly embodies what a honeymoon dinner should feel like: romantic, classy, and unforgettable. Whether you’re a couple looking for a special night or a family wanting a polished dining experience, this restaurant stands a cut above the rest. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

Ate here with my son last night. We both had the Argentinian Fillet Steak. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. You get what you pay for and it was well worth the money. Highly recommended.
Jason Y — Google review
No respect for the food. Dry and tasteless chicken wings. Texas spare ribs without flavor. And the weekly special angus just a thin slice of tasteless whatever meat. Pepper sauce tasted like cellery sauce. Frozen margaritas was just a margarita on ice. No beautiful margarita slush or crushed ice. Too much juice, too little tequila, if any. Same with the Pina Collado. Did not stick around to spend money on dessert. A really expensive disappointment! Found ourselves surrounded by smokers in the end.. No respect for other diners and food. There is better steak houses in the area. Stay away from this one.

Calma Chicha Restaurant is a rustic-chic dining venue offering creative tasting menus, fine Spanish cuisine, and wine pairings. Located just a short walk from the town center, it boasts an elegant and quiet atmosphere. The upstairs terrace provides a beautiful candlelit setting at night. The menu features traditional dishes with influences from Asian, Arabic, and South American cuisines.
Surely, there are people who will not agree with me, but in my opinion, it is quite difficult to find a restaurant in Maspalomas that is not overly touristy or pub-like, yet offers high-quality food and excellent service in a pleasant, modern atmosphere. Thanks to good reviews and a high rating, I found Calma Chicha and booked a dinner there for our travel group on the last evening of our trip. Having been disappointed by several places earlier during our journey, I was a bit hesitant. However, we were not disappointed. A fantastic dining experience and professional service. The place itself is very cozy and inviting inside. We tried all three courses with different dishes, and our entire group was very satisfied. I highly recommend this place to anyone who values quality food that looks beautiful and tastes great. A heads-up—you definitely need to make a reservation, as it is a small place and fully booked every evening. Lastly, I should mention that they also have a separate vermouth menu, which adds uniqueness to this place.

Highly recommend a visit. Dog friendly.

Fortunately we booked as I'd recommend you do so as it gets busy and not a huge amount of tables. The place is comfortable and well decorated, but no cooling which could be a problem on warmer nights. Food was fancy fine dining style which we were looking forward to as we were celebrating a special occassion. I'm glad we did the tasting menu since the food was amazing. Special mention for the desserts that were the hlighlight with amazing complimenting flavours. My favourite main dish was the beef rib as the meat was very tender. Staff were attentive and we were never left wanting. Food was served in good order/timing. One small improvement could be to mention what the food is when serving it just so you know. Really delicious truffle steak. It’s very well cooked and seasoned. The truffle potatoes are lovely. The staff are very friendly. Also have free aperitif in the beginning and free honey and rum shots in the end. Will definitely come back. Strongly recommend!
Yongpian C — Google review
The food was excellent and each plate was beautifully presented. We choose the degustation menu and we were a bit surprised that both of us had to adjust to the dish they offered instead of the one which would have caused an allergy to only one of us. Also, as we took the wine package, a few more words about each wine and why it was selected for the respective dish would have been appreciated. All waiters should know how to pure wine professionally. Lastly, the two desert courses were served quite rushed and the bill came automatically at around 22h30 even though the closing time is 23h00.

The food was delicious, and the presentation was perfect in itself. The waiters were kind, patient, and polite. A must if you visit the island!

A truly amazing experience here. The food was exceptional. I've not had such fantastic food for a very long time. The price, bearing in mind the high quality for and service was incredible reasonable. I can't recommend Calma Chicha more highly.

Additionally, the Boulevard El Faro shopping arcade features premium brand names and well-stocked stores. Such a beautiful promenade to take a walk down at Meloneras.

The boulevard is definitely a must-see when you're staying in one of the Hotels in the Meloneras-area. It's very clean, has great views (of the sea) and there are plenty of smalls shops, bars and cafes where you can grab a drink of snack. There's also a supermarket and small shopping mall nearby.
Angelo — Google review
This broad paved walk runs from the Meloneres/Maspalomas beach past numerous shops, hotels and restaurants and is a great place to watch the sunsets from. The lighthouse is one of a number of landmarks that feature on this mostly flat walkway and there is a constant flow of people throughout the day and into the evening. If you're staying in Meloneres you can't avoid it and neither should you.

Great place to walk around and have some dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Love it way more then Playa del ingles
Riqardo78 — Google review
Such a beautiful place to stroll along at any time of the day. Great for an early morning stroll, afternoon lunch and evening dinner view. Sunsets are very busy during peak times as people gather to watch it set over the concrete factory in the distance. Highly recommend coming here and experiencing for yourself.

We had a lovely meal here one night, sadly all the shops close at 10pm so didn't get to see much. You can tell there is money in this area. All in all a nice place to visit in the evening.

I just want to give Michael a shout out who was very helpful from start to finish of our trip. We booked the catamaran trip and due to unforeseen circumstances we couldn't make the day we booked so I messaged Michael to see if it was possible to change the day and he was so accommodating ringing the company and arranged for us to go on a different day. On the day there was a bit of a mix up with the transfer which Michael sorted very quickly and was on the other end of the phone to offer any other help. I highly recommend this company and Michael.

We booked a party boat with Emmi and it was absolutely fantastic! She not only gave us perfect advice but also shared plenty of helpful tips for our stay. Everything was well organized, the atmosphere on the boat was amazing, and we had an unforgettable day. Thanks to Emmi, we were able to enjoy our holiday even more. Highly recommended we’ll definitely be back!

The buggy tour was great, with stops and so many great sights to see. We are all very happy and very dusty, but it's a must do tour for Gran Canaria and especially if you're in Maspalomas area!

Irish pub
Mulligans Irish Pub in Gran Canaria offers a classic Irish pub experience with an island twist. It's a popular spot for both locals and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy a pint of Guinness, live music, and sports on big screens. The pub also serves delicious food, including crispy thin-crust pizza and sizzling fajitas with separate ingredients for customization.
30° Heat in August made stopping by for lunch at Mulligans an easy decision. The Pub is beautiful and traditional inside, so much that you can tell they love they're bar! The food tasted brilliant and cheaper than our prices back home. The server made everyone comfortable and she was really welcoming, Thanks again. 😊

This place has the best food in Gran Canaria. The staff are so friendly especially Janine, massive shoutout to her. Reasonably priced 👌🏻… back to the food, the fajitas are the most divine thing on the menu, bloody beautiful! Since being on holiday we have went here every day because of how beautiful the food is. They also have live Irish music at night which makes a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend you visit.

Lovely atmosphere from the bands in the evenings. Really nice place for drinks and food! Very quick service, waiters/waitresses do a fab job!

Good food and fast service. Food was there about 5 minutes after ordering. Lots of options in the menu but only a few options for vegetarians. No problems to make the nachos vegetarian by removing the chilly.
Robin K — Google review
An absolute gem in the heart of playa del ingles/Maspalomas. If you are looking for a break from the tapas and San Miguel you can find a hearty Irish welcome here. Food is amazing, we only had a 'snack' but we're well and truly stuffed after! Guinness is as expected, perfect and well priced for a holiday pub. Only give 4 stars for atmosphere as it was lunchtime and pretty quiet. I can imagine it is very busy later in the day/evening. 👍

El Churrasco is a renowned restaurant with three locations in Meloneras Boulevard El Faro, Las Palmas, and Tenerife. It's a paradise for meat enthusiasts, offering an array of grilled Argentinean-style cuts in an elegant yet inviting setting. With nearly 20 years of history, this establishment is dedicated to serving top-quality meats prepared to perfection.
We were really excited to eat here. I had read the reviews which were mixed but our experience was just lovely. Drinks order was taken quickly, some nice chat from the busy waiters and the wine was delicious. The prawns were so fresh and tasty but the star was the beef, I had the rib-eye and my wife and sis in law both had the Argentine steer fillet. Absolutely delicious in every way. The sunset just topped our experience as the awning and blinds were raised just for the sunset viewed through the panoramic windows. Fantastic!
Kenneth B — Google review
When you first get there they bring over a slice of bread each with butter. This comes at a cost of €2 per person. We just asked for it to be taken away as we did not ask for it and they don’t tell you it has a charge! When we got the bill it was still on there, i just asked for it to be taken off and they did it straight away. It is a bit cheeky that they just give it to you as if it’s complimentary! Cocktails (margarita & mojito) and food were lush! We had the sharing sirloin, french fries and ‘roast potatoes’. The roast potatoes were not like classic British ones but this was expected. Many reviews have complained about the servers not being polite but we did not feel this way. They were polite and attentive.

The service is amazing, very effective and kind. The meat is very tasty and well coockef, spécial mention for the barbecue ribs, thé best i ever eat. And the desert are very good too 😁 congrats from France
Aymeric S — Google review
The staff was not friendly at all. We felt really like a number. This restaurant has everything to be a premium restaurant (especially with these prices). But laks the service & welcoming atmosphère. The food is of good quality, also fresh fries! But also there the human impact needs to be looked after. You can not serve all the small bits with black spots on a plate… The restaurant is premium, but needs a better management to get back to the level it has always been (we came here already for 5 years)
Anth P — Google review
El Churrasco was absolutely outstanding! The service was top-notch – super friendly, professional, and attentive from start to finish. We were welcomed with complimentary bread at the table, which was a lovely touch. The restaurant is clearly LGBTQIA-friendly, and we felt completely comfortable and appreciated. The food was perfect – both in quality and portion size. I had the rump steak, and it was honestly the best steak I’ve ever had. My partner had the Angus burger, and it was equally amazing. Even the fries were delicious and absolutely worth mentioning! Every cent spent here was worth it – we left incredibly satisfied and will definitely return.
Dodo R — Google review
This place is an amazing grill restaurant with top-quality food and friendly service. I had the Grilled Iberian pork and Jamon Iberico, and both were absolutely delicious. The pork was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and the Jamon was rich, perfectly sliced, and melted in the mouth. The grill flavor really comes through, and everything is cooked just right. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are professional and helpful. Highly recommended!
Ramona C — Google review
Not worth the money! We have reserved a table at the window in advance, indicating we are are guests of Lopesan. OK table in the middle of the room instead. Service was slow and tedious. The real downer was the Angus burger. No tomato, sauce, or pickled cucumbers. Just a raw slice of bacon and ketchup drive-in style :-( No reason to return!
Sabrina H — Google review
The host should resign or her supervisor seriously review her performance. I booked a table for my birthday and was extremely disappointed when seated in a shared table with another couple. Especially when I requested a window seat was told none were available, but a couple behind us in the queue said they hadn’t booked and then got seated at the window. Not the service I expected. The food was good, the steak was very nicely cooked as is mostly the case with this chain but very much would discourage anyone wishing to celebrate a special occasion here.

El Caldero is an iconic restaurant in the south of Gran Canaria, now located in Maspalomas. Known for its magnificent caldero rice dishes, it offers a variety of options including seafood rice and arroz a banda. With almost 20 types of paella on the menu, it's a favorite spot for this dish on the Canary Islands. The restaurant boasts ultra-fresh seafood and a great sea view, making it perfect for a delightful dining experience.
Impromptu arrival with a few minutes wait before we were seated, recommend booming if you can. A lovely meal, attentive service but not rushed. Tuna was outstanding. Best meal I'd had all week. Would recommend for fish/paella (based on what others were served near by).

Lovely restaurant, great service. Ordered a meat paella and the wrong one came out - we obviously didn’t say anything as we are British and ate it anyway! I believe we had a mixed paella and it was incredible thankfully. Just FYI paella are minimum 2 people.
Sadie C — Google review
The entrecôte was cooked perfectly to the requested doneness, but the cut itself wasn’t quite as tender as I had hoped. If you’re looking for a truly melt-in-your-mouth steak, Kobe next door might be a better choice. However, this restaurant really shines when it comes to paella – it’s easily one of the best I’ve tasted here, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I’d definitely come back, but next time I’ll be going straight for the paella.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. We reserved earlier the same day. The restaurant has a great sea view, waiters are nice and friendly! The atmosphere was lovely with the sunset. We ordered smoked octopus as starters the portion as a starter was enough and tasted good. As a main dish we ordered paella for two person 25€ pro person. It was very delicious and filled with different kinds of seafood and the portion was huge. They also have kids menu which was great for my little one. Totally recommended! :)
