The theater was gorgeous. This was my first time going and I was in awe of the beautiful architecture and finish work. The seats are comfortable and the there was ample space inside to sit down enjoy a snack talk with your group before the show starts. I specifically went and saw a clue and it was so much fun. Parking was very easy as well. Can't wait to go back for another show.
We are season ticket holders for Proctor’s Broadway series. We are very lucky to get such high caliber shows here in Schenectady, often shortly after they go on tour. The Theater itself is nice. The seats are a little on the small side if you are a bigger person. If you are a season ticket holder, you get access to the Ovation lounge ahead of the show, where you can order food and cocktails. Concession prices are not alarmingly high and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a parking garage across the street that is a fairly quick in and out.
An utterly fantastical, totally splendiferous, jaw-droppingly wonderful night at Wicked. The sets, the lights, and THE ACTORS! PURE BLISS!
Beautiful ornate, old fashioned theater. Great production for Neil Diamond story. Guy who played him sounded a lot like him and the supporting cast, dancers, singers, especially the guy who sang Shilo was awesome, broadway NYC caliber. Only issue for me was my seats. I bought orchestra seats, row S, thinking I was 19 rows from the stage. Found out that there was another whole section in front of those, we were just a few rows from the back of the theater. Plus, the seats were tight, like regular coach on an airplane. I am 6', my knees were lightly touching the seat in front of me.
Had a fun entertaining night with Master Chef Live. Only downside was they should provide a camera over each chef so you can pick and see what they are doing to learn things.
Very kind employees! Helpful! Loved it and would see a show here again! Can’t go wrong in any seat!
We have gone to Proctors as a family for many productions now and they have all been great. Good atmosphere and friendly staff with great performances make for memorable experiences.
Always a pleasure coming here. We came to see Wicked on Halloween night and it was incredible!

Our room was great, very clean, nice and bright( we got a corner room with 2 windows) great views of the Mohawk River. The room was well stocked with towels. We had a good time at the casino, It is also very clean. The hotel itself is very beautiful, it feels and looks very luxurious. We would definitely stay there again.
I was passing through and stayed a night at the Clifton Park Holiday Inn Express. I decided to visit the casino for a couple of hours. It was an easy 20 minute drive through some great neighborhoods. The casino is bright and vibrant. It's in a nice area and has plenty off parking. I felt very safe and had a great time. I'm a video poker enthusiast and there were ample machines and varieties to suit me. I was happy I went and enjoyed myself immensely.
Clean place. Staying in a block of rooms for an event. Messy check in for a few simple requests. Simply asked for adjoining rooms with elderly companions. Well, different floors doesn’t count. Can’t believe no coffee in rooms or lobby for guests. NOT a fan of expensive Starbucks in lobby. A walk thru casino there’s a diner. Can’t get just a bagel or a few eggs and toast. Gotta go for the $13.00 breakfast and coffee is extra. Shouldn’t have to cut eggs with a knife. Signs of a too hot grill. Home fries are deep fried potatoes. Temp is cold in whole place so dress accordingly. As a result warm food on a cold plate in a cold room isn’t optimal.
I'm not huge on gambling so my review is probably a bit biased based on that. 200 or 300 dollars is really the most I'd ever want to risk, so my play options are limited. I love the game of craps, but the lowest limit I ever see on a table is $15 including Rivers. I went on a Wednesday morning so the place was pretty dead. Seems like a good time to open a $5 or $10 limit table to maybe get some inexperienced players involved, but no dice (so to speak). They do have some electronic craps and roulette machines, as well as blackjack. I think they were $5 minimum. Those are pretty fun and are a good way to teach people those games without pressure or annoying other players. We had a couple drinks at one of the bars. I had a Woodford Old Fashioned (bartender knew how to make it!) And my wife had a Mimosa. Total was $24 which surprised me. I figured the drinks would be a more nominal charge to help you gamble some more, but after that we were kind of done with the place. We grabbed lunch at the Chinese restaurant there which was very good and fairly reasonable. Casino was a bit smaller than expected. It's nice that Rivers is not a long drive for us - only an hour for access to real table games. Oh... one thing that annoyed me was that several table dealers were wearing masks. I will never sit at a table with a masked dealer, seems like it might bring some bad luck.
First time going since I was a kid......was a great experience. Actors did an awesome job. Only drawback was that everything had to be purchased in cash.
Great and fun place to go and enjoy the night of gambling and dining . Dukes is a great steak house to eat at. The food and the staff is amazing. Amaya one of the bartenders is amazing always remembers my name what I drink and even to what I usually order for food. Deff the best bartender and server there. When she is at the hotel bar she is just as good and like being at dukes she is pleasant and always is smiling and happy. If having a bad day she is one to cheer u up and even if u are losing she will put a smile on your face.
Great place especially as it’s very close to home. Spent a couple of hours at the bar playing video poker today and had a relaxing time. Soft drinks are free at the bar and the service was good. Also played roulette and lost but similarly good time. NON SMOKING unlike the Turning Stone which is great.
We go to Rivers every couple weeks to hangout at the bars (Dukes mostly). The bartenders are professional and attentive. Anthony and Paul are great, but Amaya is the BEST! She is very creative and makes different delicious drinks to suit my appetite. She also pours the best Guinness!

Absolutely stunning park that is well maintained and has so much to do. From their stunning rose garden, the fountain and water views, the serene walking paths and lush green grasses perfect for laying and relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. There is something for everyone at this park and it shows by the amount of people I see always enjoying it. I feel nothing short of grateful that I am walking distance from this beautiful oasis.
Central Park is a beautiful, tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I visited recently and enjoyed a peaceful walk through the well-maintained gardens and scenic trails. The park is perfect for picnics, family outings, or just a relaxing day in nature. The fountain area is especially lovely, and there are plenty of benches and shaded areas to sit and take in the surroundings. A great place for outdoor activities, exercise, or simply unwinding. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy some fresh air and beautiful scenery!
Amazing unique ice cream flavors. Nice spot with fantastic seating area. If you're looking for tons of toppings and Sundays this will not be your place. If your looking for great tasting ice cream you will love it. You can sample all of their flavors for free. There are many great homemade icescream spots but even if it sounds odd all I can say is their icescream tastes super fresh and not overly sweet, which I tend to like. It's more subtle but where else can you find Thai tea and cookies and Ube Heath bar crunch , my hands down favorite. Flavors constantly change so check their website for updates. Highly recommend!
Music Haven specifically is awesome! Great shows! People driving through the park with ridiculously loud cars and car stereos sort of kills the vibe at times, but I suppose there isn’t much to be done about such things. Overall highly recommend for music.
Though it shares its name for the famous park in Manhattan, this park is very distinctive in its lay-out. There are fountains, swimming pools and gorgeous verandas. In the summer, concerts and markets take place here. Lots of greenery.
Central Park Schenectady, New York was the location of my son‘s baseball tournament. The field is turf so there’s no metal cleats, but it was in great condition and the entire facility was well kept clean with plenty of parking. There are bathroom facilities throughout the park as well as places where people can grill go to the pool and swim I’m assuming with the pass and just spend a nice summer afternoon
This rose garden is a delightful escape within Schenectady. I’ve been there quite a few times. I’m impressed every time by the sheer variety of roses, each contributing to a stunning display of colors and scents. The best time to visit is around July when the roses are in full bloom. It's a tranquil place perfect for a relaxing walk or a moment of quiet contemplation. The garden is well-maintained, reflecting the care and attention it receives. Definitely worth a visit if you're love roses like me! 🌹
Great day for a picnic lunch! Grabbed subs from Capri imports. Perfect combo!

A cool place to take kids and learn how physics work, see some old GE history of Schenectady, or have fun with a date for an hour or so. I really appreciate how much this place appears to be embedded in more niche interests as well (I overheard some HAM radio operators were doing demos for kids). If none of that is for you, the planetarium is an inexpensive addition that is simply amazing. You can actually see the stars, and the guide is incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and willing to provide further resources. $15 for the museum, +$5 for the planetarium.
What a wonderful birthday party venue! We had my daughter's 7th birthday at MiSci this month and it was one of the best parties we've had. The party room is adorable. It has black lights which we took full advantage of for the "Glow Party" theme! Anna, the MiSci event manager was so very helpful through the planning process, to set up, to calming me down when the pizza didn't show up and we had to figure out a plan B. She was wonderful. And the flow of the party was perfect - the kids had time in the museum, then an activity in the party room followed by food/cake and finally a planetarium show. My daughter said, and I quote, "it was even better than I hoped for!"
Went to see James Hood's Mesmerica, the program was good, however the Hemispherical projection system has not been calibrated in some time. It wasn't centered properly and there was severe teardrop distortion on the side the projection originated from. Most annoyingly, someone kept shaking the platform the projector was situated on, shaking the whole image. The Museum itself is very interesting, but needs some more funding. This is something as a society we fall short on. Places like museums are needed, and our children should be able to experience the best possible. I would like to thank Jane Golub, (Price Chopper, Market 32) one of the museum's biggest supporters for all their support. However, I don't expect one donor to be able to fully fund the whole museum. If you'd like to make a difference, reach out to the museum, and ask how to help. I will be.
This is a very informative museum. The AI exhibit is very interesting. Lots to learn and look at. They have plenty of hands on exhibits. The kids really enjoy this place. The comic book area in the front is also quite educational. Loved the old movie cameras as you walk in. The place was clean and well taken care of.
I went expecting similar displays and two specific interactive exhibits the first being this tunnel you'd walk through that would detect how quietly you can walk, the other this room where you'd pose and a reflection of you would appear on the wall after a flash... To my disappointment everything had changed...the front is basically like a scientific children's arcade that features a variety of things but for adults it was not too exciting. The back of the museum does feature more of an adult exhibit but it's basically a bunch of technology from decades ago to somewhat current. They still hold strong in the interactive exhibits but I was truly disappointed that the attractions I was hoping to see were no more. I get exhibits change over time but those two had been my favorite. Needless to say my visit was rather short, I had spent way longer at this museum the first time I had gone. The planetarium still exists, but I opted to not do it because I had done it before the additional cost for that is $5. They still had the hurricane machine which is fun to do and costs $3 for about a minute. This museum is quite small so the $12 cost makes sense. It's great for kids but this visit I felt was not as adult oriented as I would have preferred. They also host birthday parties. I have posted some photos of some of the exhibits.
It should have "kids" in it's title because pretty much if you're not a kid or don't have one with you then you won't have much to do or see here. I'd say about 70% of this "museum" was just kids toys/playgrounds for children to mess around with while their parents watched. Upon entering we were met with a cacophony of kids running around screaming and having fun. I don't know if this is just a summer thing to entertain kids out of school or if this is really how it is year-round. I didn't see as many didactic exhibits as I wanted as this city is very historical, but the ones I did see were pretty interesting. We had a session at the planetarium which was nice and comfy, and the lady running it seemed pretty knowledgeable about stars, planets, and the sky but the presentation was a bit dumbed-down on account of children being present. My boyfriend said when he went a couple years ago it used to be much better with more actual and cool exhibits there, but it looks like since then they have made some dramatic changes and took out a lot of good stuff. The place is actually pretty small, I was surprised. It took us about a half hour to go through the whole thing on account of most of it just being kids items, and another hour went to the planetarium. It looks like they hold other little programs here for kids too and they have a "meh" store upfront. The tickets in my opinion were a bit pricey for the quality of the museum overall...but they have a membership price which probably in the long run would be more worth it if you plan to visit more than once. But like I said if you don't have children it's not really worth it if you're just going as an adult. One section which was confusing for me was a little grocery store section that seemed like it was sponsored by Price Chopper with a bunch of kids running around with toy carts and fake plastic food. I didn't really understand the relevance to the museum or anything educational it offered to the building as a whole, and to me it just seemed like it was there to take up space.
I had my wedding at MiSci this weekend and it was phenomenal. All the staff were so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. A special thanks to Kelly and Kerry who truly were the backbone of our evening. The work Kelly did to make sure our event ran smoothly was incredible. Thank you to Kerry for crafting such a beautiful planetarium experience for our guests. Throughout the night we were told how fun and unique our wedding was. If you are considering a private event a MiSci you should just go for because it truly was an unforgettable experience. *Also, encourage your guests to do the hurricane machine! Our guests had a great time with it and we got some truly memorable moments.*
I took my toddler here with a library pass, thinking it would have some stuff he could do but definitely almost nothing for kids under 10 or so (at least with the current exhibit July 2025). We went a couple of weeks ago and this kid is STILL randomly saying "Museum. No like it. Push it green button, not working. No like it Museum." (The green button did work, just not in a way he understood). Our 5th grader has a good time on a school field trip, though.

We came here while visiting from out of town and I was skeptical of how good it would be after hearing that it's a smaller aquarium. I was pleasantly surprised! They have a large selection of fish to look at and all the tanks are super clean and clear! Feeding the rays was an added bonus! We've never fed rays before. My kids loved the koi pond too! I'm so glad we stopped by to check it out. The gift shop was very reasonably priced and the staff very friendly. Just an overall great experience! Thank you!
What a little gem in an old mall! It had been a while since I’d been to an aquarium, and I really missed the atmosphere—this visit brought all those good feelings back. I knew it would be on the smaller side, but it was actually larger than I expected! The variety of fish and other animals was impressive, and I even saw a few species I hadn’t seen in person before, which was a nice surprise. I thought it was super cute that they offer scavenger hunts for the kids to keep things engaging. The staff was kind and efficient—they got us through the line quickly, even though there was already a hefty crowd before opening on a Saturday. It is a bit pricey at $24 per adult, but I get that the cost of running an aquarium is high. Overall, I was happy with the visit and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and educational stop!
DO NOT MISS THIS AQUARIUM! Sorry for yelling, but this is a hidden gem of an aquarium. You would NEVER guess the quality of this aquarium by the looks of the "Dead Mall" it is located in. The entrance is in the back of the mall. After walking down a colorfully painted hallway, you enter into the concourse of the the mall where Via has a storefront. The storefront after it is the aquarium gift shop called "The Treasure Chest" that you exit into after touring all the exhibits. There is a maze of aquarium displays, plenty of signage and explanations of what is in the tanks. After about an hour of displays, the area opened up to a couple of touch tanks. One was full of Koi that came up to you (hoping you would feed them), the other had a pool of Rays. This area also has the bathrooms and water fountains if you need them. Continuing on, more aquariums that have the clown fish and Tangs you remember from "Finding Nemo". After that, there was an aquarium "Tunnel" with sharks and large fish swimming overhead, then there was a second tunnel after that one! Quite impressive, as I've only seen such features in larger aquariums in major cities. Further on, the displays turned to lizards and snakes and poison frogs, finally ending in the gift shop. My husband and I enjoyed the aquarium immensely. The displays seemed to go on and on and on. Definitely worth the admission price. Bring the kids. They will enjoy it too! I posted the admission prices and several photos of exhibits. The video of the Crocodile turtle was taken at 13:15 November 3, 2025.
This place was pretty cool. Located in an old mall. Many kids were there having a ball. It was really dark, a little more light would have been better. Many interactive exhibits. We were there for about 2 hours. Worth it, for sure.
The loveliest little gem in town! Our 10 month old loved this place. Wonderful and knowledgeable staff, great informational enclosures in an unexpected location. We would totally come back next time we are in town!
This little aquarium is wonderful . I come here every year with my kids . My favorite part is the colorful frogs . My daughter loves the sharks . We both love the little lazy river for the fish where you can feed them if you ask . Eat before you come !
Dope little Aquarium ! Its not huge but even with its smaller size I spent 1.5 hours with my kid and enjoyed it some things they had I've never seen before so that was a bonus...Also whoever does the themes/decorations for the enclosures does a great job
This is a smaller aquarium, but we loved the exhibits and participated in an activity for Wolf Oceans Day. While I would recommend this as a destination alone, if you are traveling through the area on a road trip, this is a perfect activity.

I love this library. It is the example of a central library location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable too! There is always fun exhibits and stuff to do. Today they had a display of Star Wars toys. Too fun! Always a good stop. Highly recommend. If you found this review helpful please let me know by"liking" it. Thanks.
A busy library with offerings for all ages and across all media. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Film series is fun and a great option on a rainy day. My first visit was frustrating as every adult in every section I went to was on a phone. Here's a hint -- want a quiet spot to read a book -- the children's and teen's area is quite a find.
Normally is a good quiet place where nobody bothers you for no reason but I was bothered by a staff member for doing hair in the library , which I’ve done hair before multiple times with no issues, but for some reason they told me to leave and finish it outside after I already was there for 3 hours doing hair. They made up some random health violation policy to try and embarrass me but that staff member is the embarrassment👎🏽👎🏽🍅🍅she’s just bored and had nothing better to do as her boring job of being a librarian, it’s honestly pathetic🤷‍♀️smh..
Nice library in downtown Schenectady. Cross corner from the courthouse with a lovely children's area and quiet seating areas.
Wow I was shocked how good this place was. It was busy with local traffic, but the librarians were very cordial and helpful. They had a lot of services and easy to find parking.
I can not stress just how important our public libraries are! This particular branch is amazing! They provide a variety of important services to the Schenectady community for free!!! In addition to books, they have audio books, CD's, DVD's, DVD players, mobile hot spots, public computers, microfilm viewers, and so much more! Not to mention all the awesome programs and all of it is free!!! Stop by ASAP and see for yourself!
No better way to spend the day when you're not quite sure what to do. Find a new adventure in a book
Love this library is big clean and the librarians are really nice and helpful

Q&A about Schenectady

The Finger Lakes area or Letchworth State Park--but that area is comparatively busier in the summer. For truly remote, I would look at the Adirondacks and the area around Saranac or Indian Lake.
