He greeted us with a warm, affectionate smile every time we saw him—truly exceptional hospitality. They reminded me of the outstanding service we experienced at the Royalton Hideaway in St. Lucia. From the top down, this location was dissapointing at best. To name a few things, the ‘welcome party’ the couple was promised, was held miles away from the rooms and transport arrived 30 mins late to the 1 hour event. The reception was beautiful but we later learned that there were supposed to be gifts that the couple paid for that we never received. The cake was simply cut by the wait staff without allowing the couple to cut it. All in all we had a great time despite these inconveniences but it’s disappointing knowing good money was paid for this and so little attention to detail and care was given to the couple Sub par experience. Service was a solid 2/10 we had a friend’s booking get cut short by 2 days and they were left without a room. The ceiling in two of our bedrooms in the shower were falling apart and falling on our heads. The bedsheets were clearly not washed when we checked in. Per in the toilet and dirt on the table with cup rings clearly the unit wasn’t cleaned properly or at all. The bar servers basically ignore you unless you get their attention with a dollar bill in your hand. The only bus/train to the beach sometimes takes 20-30 minutes to even arrive which is super inconvenient if you are the farthest building from the beach like I was. Their customer service is sub par at best. Essentially brushing off all of our concerns, there is no real order in who’s actually in charge of the hotel, when you have an issue they just play hot potato with you at the front desk telling you to speak to one person or the next so they don’t have to deal with your issues, room service takes well over an hour to arrive. (As I write this I’m at 1 hour and 30 mins waiting for my meal) Positives- food is actually very tasty and abundant Beach is one of the nicest I’ve been too in the world. This past weekend my cousin & I stayed at the Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana (Adults only side) for my birthday November 13th-18th. We were also Diamond Club members which included a butler, swim out pool & certain amenities that were strictly exclusive to Diamond Club members. (luxury). Boy was that a lie. It’s not worth it! Upon entry into our room.. it smelled like old water/mildew & mold. I kept smelling an odd smell coming from the AC vent and mentioned it to our butler. He arranged for us to have our rooms switched the next day. Guess what? Same thing in the new room except for this time.. I could actually spot the mold on in the showers. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I kept smelling something but couldn’t quite frankly put my nose on it. At that moment I found it. My cousin kept saying that our sheets on the bed felt wet. The housekeeping manager came & instead of actually fixing the problem.. they painted over it 😒 When you’re a “Diamond Club” member as they put it.. it pretty much means luxury. Not with this place! Diamond club is not worth it I promise. Do not spend your hard earned money with this hotel! Oh yeah, I also wound up SICK with a COLD coming back home from the air quality & mold. They also tried to fake accommodate us/ shut us up with a little 25 minute massage on the day before we were leaving which was like at 4:30pm in the evening and we had dinner reservations at 7:30pm that night. Instead of helping guests, staff are more interested in selling u the upgrade to Diamond Lounge for stupid amounts of money, even though you cant use the facilities. Unable to eat in the main dining room at dinner time as daughter can't be in crowded areas. Room Service limited... hope you like Salad or Burgers. We eat in the room every night. Expect to tip them too, attitude received on 1 occasion because I had no change and no understanding of the fact i cant just leave a 3yr kid on her own to go to ATM to tip him. A la Carte options that are included in my package, are not available to be delivered to my room. Dont kniw why, looking out my room, there ia an option of a a la carte restaurant that could thrpw me the food, we are that close. The waiter would walk furter goong tomthe other side of the restaurant than bringing to us. Mini bar dont cater for Diabetics. Only 2 x bottles of Pepsi given (that's drinkable) and also 2 x ChocoMilk that combines together, fills 1 x baby bottle. Extortionate prices at the shop in the hotel. After 5 days, Juan from Guest relations has helped with getting us buffet food for evening dinner and actually giving us some attention that's required for my daughter. Checking up on us, sending us extra drinks for Bella (3yr) and myself for additional needs. Overall £6000 on holiday. Approx 600USD per day. Not anything like the value suggests but that's the tour operators fault and the lack of facilities for children with special needs. It it wasn't for Juan at GS. I would of booked a flight home already and be back in rainy UK keep up the good work Juan and his manager Jeffrey (also seems to care about us as guests, not potential objects to rinse for additional money) and let other staff try be as attentive as yourself
