Tonight, I finally get to experience Twilight in concert at the center. The event center is beautiful and so big! We sat towards the back half of the event center and it was so nice being able to see the screen and stage. Regardless at how tall the person in front of me was, the staggering of the seats didn't block my view. I'm pretty sure no matter where you are sitting, it's still a great seat. There was a 20 minute intermission for the singer and band members to take a break. Of course we headed to concessions to grab a drink. It was nice how they had it set up. The line went really fast and guests were being helped at a great pace. We were able to get our goodies and head back to our seats pretty quickly. I know there are a lot of events that happen here. I need to be more proactive and see what they are. The venue is so pretty here. The seating is comfortable and nice. It was cool to have my first experience at the Morrison Center tonight. I look forward to coming back again soon for another one.

He told me next time I should try the British Sliders (like beef Wellington) I plan on doing that. :) pretty sure everything he makes is awesome! We went to the pop culture murder mystery night and it was TERRIBLE. So terrible we walked out early. The "actors" were all impossible to understand and there was absolutely no plot. The whole audience was confused and no one was laughing or having fun. It was full improv where the characters couldn't even follow was each other were doing and kept contradicting each other. There was no actual murder one character just went and coughed backstage and then another came out and rolled on the floor saying she died. They also left for 15 mins in the middle to read our guesses for who the murderer was but I doubt the actors even knew themselves. There was no good comic con or pop culture references either which was disappointing since that was the stated theme. Stay as FAR AWAY from this place as possible. If you want to feel as though you came go to a middle school improv night or watch a play your kids put on playing with there cousins. It's the same level of professionalism. Luckily, it was so terrible I know it will be a running joke between my family for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if this act gets shut down soon because I couldn't see anyone ever coming back.

We were anticipating an evening of laughs and religion based barbs. Our experience began with trudging around the perimeter of the Gem Building in the dark trying to find an unlocked door. We could see people in the building, but all first floor doors were locked. Finally we knocked on the door to get someone’s attention. We were told to go back into the unlit area and find, an equally unlit exterior staircase that led to the basement entrance. Signage needs to be placed in the lighted central door areas directing people towards the unlit stairway entrance. Once we made our way to the door we were told to wait outside while they reset for the show. While there were outside heaters on the area, none of them were lit. When the show manager was asked to turn on the heaters, he just said the doors would be opened “soon.” We, and the other patrons, stood in the mostly dark, unheated stairwell for 45 minutes waiting to be let in. This chilly night’s reception was the subject of much conversation in the line. We were finally allowed in, long after the advertised door opening time, and were shown to a table. We were ready for a great show. Alas, it was not to be. At the end of the show, we were told that this was the first time this show had been performed, so my review of the performance will be hopefully serve to improve the show. The show was flat, dead and largely humorless. While the presumed theme of the performance was religion, it was only loosely associated with the performance. The dialogue was sporadically interrupted by performed “music” that was out of sync and off key and flat singing by the performers. The music didn’t add anything to the show, but appeared to be there simply to allow the performers thinking time. This show was not ready for public performance, especially for an audience of paying customers. The one performer, who demonstrated the ability to do different characters and voices was the violin player/ farmer Bob— he obviously was at least a viable musician and capable of producing interesting characters. However, overall the performances were very weak, mostly not related to their show topic and flat. My advice is to practice, practice, practice; watch professional improv performers and perform to non- paying audiences until you dial-in the art of improvising. It’s not a secret that tables need to be bussed and props need to be placed. There were 2 gas space heaters in the waiting area outside and they refused to turn them on for the people waiting in the cold when asked. The staff seemed more interested in themselves and their friends who attended than the paying patrons. Watered drinks, poor waitress who disappeared after the show started and was way too chatty with friends after the show when the tab needed settled. The show started 15 minutes late, the music played by the 4 “comedy” people on stage was poor, the comedy was awful. I used to teach improv, I’ve seen freshmen in high school do a much better job doing comedy for an audience both scripted and improv. I’ve also seen it performed many times on stage with local actors, I can’t remember a worse comedy performance. What was the point of the music? It added nothing to the show. What was the point of the preacher theme with no costume and no real continuity with the theme? I very much doubt I’ll be back.
