There are parking garages on campus just a short walk from the museum building, and we paid $10.00 for event parking (probably due to the graduation weekend). The limestone wall reflects regional geology and symbolizes the strength of the nation. The waterfalls highlight water as the source of life and healing. Loved the city view walk around the main lot. I was touched by a rifle, helmet and boots display in the water with the inscription "Our debt to the heroic men and the valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude, America will never forget their sacrifices." I enjoyed walking to the top of the building and seeing the city scape from there. Noticed an amphitheater on the roof that looked like a great location for gatherings.

I believe this is the third year, though my first time attending. The weather was super hot on Saturday and Sunday, though it also rained on Saturday. The library was awesome, as were the topiary grounds. Very picturesque. There were numerous booths selling books and other merchandise. Many food trucks as well. There were also a LOT of authors, which is the reason for coming. Our primary objective this trip was to meet Matt Dinniman (Dungen Crawler Carl series) who was VERY popular at this event. I'd be willing to bet he was THE MAIN attraction based on crowds, long lines. Though he wasn't meant to sign all day Sunday, he made himself available to do just that, ensuring anyone who wanted to, could have their book signed. Such a great stand-up guy! He went the extra mile and signed while walking around the event too.. which is when my daughter got her books and such signed. Check out the series if you haven't already! The audiobooks are AWESOME. Overall, a very successful event, and worth the trip.

We arrived to greeters happy to check us in to the event and they were very welcoming. Once checked in I walked around the center and looked at some of the art work posted. The event was very well run and listening to James McBride was a delight. He touched on his current book as well as a few of his older classics and had a long Q&A session. Afterwards he signed books and took pictures while the center had cookies and waters for everyone. It was a great evening and we look forward to attending another event at the King Arts Complex.
