Turn down service, bags to the room, welcome drink and early check in. All staff were so attentive. Our classic room had everything you could need loved the beige tones and the marble in the bathroom. The pillows weren’t so comfortable and we could hear noise of chairs below us from 12am until 1am not sure if it was the bar. We also went to the spa which had an outdoor jacuzzi and steam room, plenty of extra towels and slippers. Dinner in Orchids was nice, our steaks were cooked perfectly! We had a drink in Bloom in the garden but the atmosphere there wasn’t our favourite it smelled of beer and was very quiet so we went inside to the manor bar. The selection of cocktails is quiet poor for the price. For €20 per drink I’d like to see more flavours, names and a dedicated cocktail menu. The two we did try were average. The hotel is cosy and classic, some birds at the side of the manor and nice little area to walk around even though theres no gardens. Breakfast was lovely I can tell why it’s so highly rated, we loved the scones!

We stayed a few nights on our tour of Ireland and couldn’t be happier with the decision to do so! The location, grounds, and charm of this place is second to none. I wish we could have stayed longer but the time we had here was just amazing and has left lasting memories. We really enjoyed the pool, steam room, and hot tub… being able to walk from your room to the facilities in your robe and slippers was excellent! What more can be said other than this is the best hotel stay we’ve ever had and if we ever return to visit Ireland we will be sure to stay here again!

I was put into a generously sized room at the front of the hotel and the traffic from the street kept me awake for a good portion of the night. Also the room had no heating and it was Baltic! The staff were very helpful and moved me the following morning to a smaller but thankfully quieter room at the side. Overall the rooms and hotel generally is decorated and maintained to a very high standard. Great selection and quality of food for breakfast. Location is very central and this part of Cork has visible improved over the past few years. Staff were all unfailingly polite and helpful.

One of the lifts was not working in the second day and when I checked out it was not fixed yet. The reception apologized sincerely and I understand there is nothing they could do as they only work there. Incredible that a 4 stars hotell could not provide the basic elementary services like hot water in the shower and a working toilet.

From the moment we sat foot into the property the hotel staff went to above and beyond to ensure the stay was memorable. The warm and fresh scent of rose and blackberry from the candles being burnt across the property added to the experience. We had dinner in the hunted hog, which is offsite owned by the property. The driver took us to the venue and Home when required. The food was truly delicious, portions very generous. Picture is the prawn taco which I highly recommend. Breakfast at the property was a wonderful peaceful experience. The f&b ensuring a warm morning greeting to every customer. The breakfast buffet and the hot food truly caters to everyone. I truly loved the artwork dotted around the property from Gormley’s. I’m a very big fan of Patrick O’Reilly and Patrick Rubinstein with some of my favourite artwork normally housed in Dublin being on site. Looking forward to my return visit in a few weeks.

The room service menu was very good and the comfortable in room dining setup was very convenient as pets are not permitted in the bars/restaurants (very understandable). There is a lovely courtyard outside the canopy bar where we could sit for a drink with our pup also which was great. The resort had a number of walks nearby and was also a very short stroll into the village where there were more food options on hand. I would highly recommend popping over to garryvoe beach and grabbing a coffee for a stroll at olas also, with or without a dog.

We had a very nice dinner in the restaurant followed by cocktails and live music in the Glasshouse which was sublime. We recovered the following morning in the gym/pool which is good as hotel gyms go. We had a standard room which was comfortable but the bathroom was a bit on the small side and the wardrobe space was minuscule with too few hangers. What The Montenotte does best though is customer service. All the staff were well presented, attentive and super engaging, nothing was too much and you felt comfortable asking for what you needed when you needed it. It’s really obvious that management here have invested in staff training and motivation as they are all excellent communicators and all very friendly. There is none of the starchiness you get in some hotels, especially 5 star ones, just a genuine and friendly welcome. Great resort hotel with a buzzy atmosphere and I highly recommend.

Parking was free, though getting to the hotel from the south side of the city was a bit harrowing due to the narrow streets and steep hills. The hotel was just spectacular in every way. The bar area and gardens were exquisite and what a view!!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The layout was great for a family of 4 however I would have liked a larger bed in the master bedroom. The only thing missing in the whole apartment was a mirror beside a plug socket for styling hair...I had to wing it without a mirror which meant I had a questionable hair style for the duration of our stay! The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were fabulous. We walked and bused it into city centre, bus is 5 min walk away or city centre is a 20 min walk. My advice, walk in and bus it back as its a steep climb up to the hotel. Get train to Cobh for an afternoon out or drive to Kinsale 40 mins away, it's beautiful! I rarely leave bad reviews however the standard of food is not up to scratch of that of a 4star hotel. It is clear that the majority of staff are given no training and that there is no clear management system. The last few times I've visited (I keep going back cos I love the decor in there and am always rooting for it to be a good experience). Service is slow and poor. The woman sitting at a tablw near me with a child was left waiting ages to be served, then had to ask for culery, a portion of chips came along for her table. She then had to ask when the rest of the food was coming - she had orderd fish and chips. The one excellent and compentent server had to check on it for her. After the two had finished we had a quick chat. She said to me after that they didn't even bring the right sandwich for the child but she didn't have the energy to say anything. My own order was a glazed ham and melted brie sandwich. At least that it what the menu said. What arrived was a plain slice of bread with relish and cold slice of brie, topped with a deli sized slice of ham. The portion of chips I ordered on the side came along first, with the server saying "Enjoy your meal," instead of saying "Is there anything else I can get you?" Having seen the experience of the lady near me, I too had to enquire if my sandwich was on the way. This quality and service as mentioned above does not reflect the quality and standard expected from a 4 star hotel. If management of the hotel is reading this, please take time to train your staff properly i.e. getting an outside agency to train them rather than relying on more senior staff to do it and/or hire more staff. I would recommend you take a look at how one of the city's other 4 star hotels trains and manages their staff i.e. The Metropole. We booked a family room and on booking we were unable to add the no. of children to the booking so we rang and informed them over the phone. We gave the age of our children (one newborn baby) on the call. When we got to the room there was a beautiful fruit platter and teddy bear in the room congratulating us on our new baby which was lovely and really appreciated. The room was also really spacious and clean with a big bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. We used the pool which was also clean and could be booked easily and the breakfast in the morning was great with lots of options for everyone. One of the days we visited Fota Wildlife Park which is just a few minutes drive away and another we spent walking the Fairy Trail on the hotel grounds. The spa facilities are great to unwind with a lovely relaxation room overlooking a peaceful courtyard which you can use after a treatment. There is also a 'cinema room' showing movies for older kids. Overall I highly recommend a family stay here and we're looking forward to coming back.

Fast forward 3 weeks the manager then told me wife the availabilty is gone after repeated calls made by my wife during this time... Needless to say this didn't leave us feeling happy and actually reduced other possible venue options that would have had availabilty as we wasted 3 weeks trusting this establishment. They have left us feeling they are untrustworthy and lacking professionalism, we won't ever be considering this hotel again or recommending it to others.

The WiFi is atrocious (read: virtually non existent) in the rooms 2. Twice in the morning there was no hot water in the bathroom, forcing me to skip a morning shower and shave 3. We stayed for 3 days and every single day our key cards would expire, forcing us to head back down to have them reset by the front desk. Accommodation is very clean, tidy and comfortable. The service and booking in process was really easy and the communications were excellent. You could not want for a better location than the Lemon Leave to explore the very vibrant Kinsale and all it has to offer. All the bars and restaurants are literally on the doorstep. Breakfast and dinning was lovely. However I would recommend booking in advance even if you have confirmed accommodation. It does get busy in the restaurant as it is so nice. I would recommend for sure and look forward to our stay next year.

Then we both got different seafood specials that didn't disappoint. Then the staff were such great people we couldn't thank them enough. We left to meet the B & B owners nobody was home. So we ended up just having to hangout with the great staff in a wonderful place until the owners came and joined us before heading back for the night. The premises outside gave the impression of a standard tea room BUT what a wonderful surprise inside. We were only passing through the village and decided we would like something to eat with a nice hot cup of coffee/Tea. We were restricted to what dates we could choose to accommodate people travelling from overseas however Geraldine was super helpful working with us. As a solo traveller, the room was quite spacious and very clean and tidy compared to rooms in other hotels I’ve stayed in and felt super safe the entire stay (I’ve also slept the best at this hotel, the bed and pillows were divine!). The hotel was in the best possible location in the city - close to the train and bus stations and right around the corner from the main streets. Nearly everything was within walking distance which took away the stress of trying to navigate public transport in a foreign city, especially as a solo traveller. I had stayed here in the past and had a nicer experience. The online check in is handy but it found it confusing because there’s no information given about breakfast/ pool use etc . Receptionist was very lovely do and when we collected our bags she wished my son a happy birthday and dropped up a sweet treat which was the highlight of our stay ! The pools fab and clean and staff there are so lovely too . Breakfast was surprisingly delicious ( we were affraid after reading reviews ) but we couldn’t fault it and staff were nice too ! The worst part was the room it was to y and internal , the window looked down to the lobby it felt so claustrophobic and with no fan in the bathroom and aircon it was so stuffy ! The rooms very basic and needs some extra touch’s and a deep clean ! I understand the hotel needs to use all rooms but I believe more transparency is needed for these rooms , the last time we stayed we had a fabulous sea view and it was the deluxe double room we booked then too . Perhaps offer a discounted room rate for these internal rooms so people can decide when their booking as I feel I paid quite a high rate for this shoebox which I’m sad to say has turned me off booking the hotel again ! Also the area has gotten very bad around the hotel I know this is out of your control just feel I should mention it I wouldn’t be comfortable to stay with my kids there again either !

Thankfully I was using my rollator and could fold it to get in the door . When booking I specifically request a shower tray not a shower in bath. Not only was it shower in tub and it was twice. The 'suite' was obviously 2 rooms franensteined into being able to list it as suite. Next issue was the room was like an icebook . Not any extra blanket to be had and the 'duvet' was like think sheet. When I requested an extra blanket I got a fleece that you would use for a toddler in a travel cot. Let's not even talk about the mattress. Remind you of the old hay filled ones. Only think this hotel had going for it was location to the airport
