Room was very spacious. The bed was wide and soft. Bathroom was small but clean. Maid service came in and cleaned up nicely. Desk clerks were extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was at their restaurant around the corner and was a good sized assortment of a few slices of ham, cheese, a fruit bowl a hard boiled egg and a basket of croissants and slices of bread. This isn't like any US hotel you've stayed at; it's better. It's locally operated, the grounds are fantastic, the made to order breakfast, the rooms and the nightly entertainment are top notch. A large courtyard to spread out in multiple loungers, the dining hall in the reception building and the large garden to walk around and explore (all within the property).

We cannot say enough nice things about him. His response to every question or request was positive, and he made things work. Whatever he is paid is not enough. He made our stay perfect. Alles in allem ist es eine wirklich gute Empfehlung für die Übernachtung und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr angemessen. Das junge Paar, dass das Hotel betreibt hat auf viele Details wirklich liebevoll achtgeben. Die Zugangscodes für die Haustüre und die Zimmer bekommt man rechtzeitig am Vormittag des gebuchten Tages. The rooms were spotless & the robes, hats, dental kits & colouring book were such a nice touch. The telescope on the balcony of the upper rooms is such a nice touch as it allows you to see the moorish castle & a few other sights if you're lucky. We thoroughly enjoyed the petite breakfast supplied every morning and of course a glass of port and some snacks in the afternoon/evening. The lounge where the breakfast & port tastings is such a sweet place to relax for a moment, or maybe even make friends with other travellers & look through the various cook books & travel guides. I cannot recommend Casa da Estefanía enough!

As it was a Sunday night we asked where we could eat but she seemed uncertain as to what was open and mentioned only one place which she gave us vague directions to. Having walked there to find it closed we then walked on for a while and eventually found a bar serving food. On our way back we saw an open restaurant near the b&B and we could have been given better details of where it eat with certain opening times. We didn't see anyone most of the time including at breakfast which was mostly sweet pastries with some cheese and ham but no cooked food unlike the other places we stayed. It was adequate but not amazing.

The attention to detail is incredible, the rooms are really nice and the care that goes into their breakfast is special. Die angekündigte Reparatur fand nie statt. Nervig war der Tank (oder ähnliches) der Nachts ab 3.00 Uhr laut arbeitete. Unsere Toilettenspülung war von Anfang nicht in Ordnung heute Nacht hat sie den Geist ganz aufgegeben. Die Anlage ist wunderschön. Aber am Pool sind die Polster und die Liegen leider ungepflegt und unsauber. Die Polster am Pool werden nie weggeräumt so dass sie schmutzig und von Vögeln voll gekackt sind. The location is wonderfully tucked back in the hills on the approach to Sintra about half way between Cascais and Sintra. It appears to have been part of an old Village and the hotel’s lounge was actually the village chapel at one time, the hotel itself, an old Mansion. Rooms are just beautifully appointed in the classic sense with modern touches such as the bathrooms. Lovely modern infinity pool looking out at the surrounding hills. Room was spacious and had a classic feel. Restaurant on site was fantastic. You must try the pumpkin jam. Well located to see popular monuments. 10-15 min walk to the old town and was great. Staff are lovely and helpful. Don't drive ! Many one way streets. Heavy traffic and easier to train it and get hotel transfer or uber. So glad we spent 2.5 days here ! It was a highlight of our trip. We stayed here in April of 2024, and although the service and location is absolutely exceptional, the rooms however, were a bit dated. They need some attention and updating.
