(The place was recommended by our hotel staff @Locanda la piazza who were both lovely and knowledgeable and who’s recommendations we trusted.) The food was absolutely fantastic and super tasty, with some incredible olive oils and balsamic vinegars including a 30year old which we also bought as a momento of our trip. The views and setting is great even though it was a lil cold and raining on the day we went it didn’t take away from the experience but I can only imagine how much more wonderful it would be with warmth and sunshine! We also enjoyed the wine tasting and found them to be very generous on this side of things. We also bought a bottle of wine. If is ideal if you are visit these places that you understand there is an opportunity for you to purchase and more so they prefer it if you buy cases and are set up to arrange shipping too so you don’t have to worry about a thing. We certainly didn’t have the budget on this occasion for a case but still bought two items and very much looking forward to opening them upon our return home. The winemaker Carlo Ferrini has been masterful in his use of old and new oak and concrete vats and this wine hits 15% alcohol, something we don’t see in Australia with a Sangiovese.
