The bun was so sweet yet slightly toasted with the cold lobster inside with some sort of mayonnaise aioli and scallions. would return for one of their live music events!

Even though the purple- dangerous marine life- flags flew each day we were there, we still felt comfortable swimming in the water closer to shore. Waves were breaking on or near the shore with a bit of a drop off during high tide but during low tide there were at least 100 kids and adults boogie boarding and having a blast. The shark sensor there was picking up sharks most days and we saw seals every day but we felt comfortable swimming anyway. Gorgeous views and lively waves only a 5 minute walk from the campground with free walk in access. Can’t beat that for a budget vacation!

The waves are just right not too big like Nauset but has wave action compared to the bay side. The dunes and rolling hills are the perfect backdrop. Little pools form when the tide goes out and when my kids were little they used to love it and you don’t have to worry like when they are in the main ocean water. Usually you will see whales off in the distance binoculars always help usually u think nothing is going on out there but when I looked through the binoculars I could see whales slapping their tales and all sorts of cool stuff. Many seals in the area which means there are many great whites also. So keep your phone or camera handy because when it happens it’s usually pretty quick. Nice parking lot with full bathrooms and washing stations for feet and or complete showers. Changing rooms also. The walk isn’t bad compared to some other beaches. Just up the initial incline then it’s a decline all the way to the beach after that which isn’t far. Great spot. Don’t miss it….

The views from the top are gorgeous and it is well worth the price. The Park Service staff were friendly and knowledgeable, even offering to take a picture of all of us with the beautiful backdrop. Note: There is a ladder that requires some dexterity to get to the inside of the lighthouse - not many steps, but you do have to get up and down it. There is a gift shop on site and restrooms just down the road by the parking lot and attached to the museum. Make sure to walk down to the lighthouse's original location as well. This lighthouse is on a golf range which is unique. We bought tickets inside to do the tour of the light house, very afforable! We waited about 15 minutes since a group had just gone up before us. The woman at the desk was very nice and started giving us some history on the light house. Our two guides about the light house were great, one on the bottom and one up top. Just be aware wo entry ways are very narrow and steep little stairs at the top, so watch your head! Once you get to the top its very warm but worth it! Gorgeous views!

I loved the design for the most part though the last two holes are a slight let down but still offer some intriguing elements. Barbara (I believe) in the pro shop was very nice. The soil was sandy but the course was pretty soggy in some places. I arrived in the afternoon and played 5 holes relatively quickly then ran into a wall. People seemed oblivious-I was in any rush to get anywhere but don’t like standing around on a tee with a group still eating to tee off themselves. Seems like a place for a lot of beginners. When I circled back to play another 9 a duo were waiting on the 2nd tee Box for ten minutes only to top it nowhere. When I was on the first green, a group on the adjacent 4th fairway was swinging & wiffing for literally at least two minutes. Then when u arrived on the 4th fairway myself, they were only on the 5th tee box!!! While the group ahead of me just finished the 4th green. It’s a bit of Travesty they allow carts here driving around wherever I think I saw a group driving on a tee box. . The course has some ups & downs but it should be walking only To preserve the land. Saw many capable younger men the next morning taking carts. Perhaps they could have an age restriction with the carts.. The greens while nice were way too soggy & spongy for a links course. I’m not turf expert but they seemed over watered. Footprints being left indented-bumpy-wet greens at 4pm just feels unnecessary. I’m sure there is a fine line between them becoming unplayable but a better balance could be reached. Spinning back 7irons just feels wrong. So besides the wind and ocean it didn’t really play like I thought it would, bump and runs were pretty much out of the question. I think Marion (ma) which I played that morning is a great example of firm and good paced greens yet still receptive. I (and a lot of people) would pay $60 a round for a little truer experience & maintenance & some sort of enforcement to preserve the experience instead of a fitting as many rounds in as possible mentality. I understand that everyone should be able to play golf and have fun but there has to be some kind of enforcement & the players themselves have no idea & it creates bad habits for beginners. It has a lot of potential, the views are amazing & I’m sure the crew works hard. The 2nd hole was a highlight along with the 5th playing dead into the wind. I’ll definitely come back.

Well done to the grounds crew on everything from tee box to green in very good condition. Noticed divots being filled in and broken tees being picked up. They kept a drinking water station full. As a links course in a warm and at times windy location, they hustle to keep the greens and surrounding areas well watered. Yes, of course it can be walked, but the carts are newer with excellent shock absorbers. Lots of rises and falls with native fescues and sandy areas with picturesque views.. This course will remain on our list in the future as my son and I play our first “Cape Cod Classic Golf Tournament” (7 rounds in 8 days).

They used the different rooms to showcase items from the 1800’s. The hotel was built in 1807. The fireplace is the original fireplace. It was interesting to see products, clothing, shoes, toys and home decor from that time period. We also learned about how they would rescue men using this buoy 🛟 pulley system. The reason I gave it 4 star instead of 5 is slightly pricey at $8 per person and I thought it should be more like $5 but I guess in todays economy they gotta keep the doors open too! This is more than a historical society it really is a museum with docents that are quite knowledgeable. There is so much to learn and so much to see in this Museum you will need to allow at least one hour plus if you decide to walk to the lighthouse I would add another hour. It is quite interesting for those to have an interest in history, there are a lot of cool relics and a lot of stories to hear by the knowledgeable docent. Everything is ridiculously cared for and I would have to say this is probably the best local historical society I have ever been to. It is extensive and very well organized. This was our first time back at Montano’s since last summer and we weren’t sure what to expect with their being new ownership/ management. Well, all I can say is great job! Not only was Tyler excellent, but upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly hostess, the staff all seemed happy and working hard! Lastly… the food as always was great! We find the quality of food, taste & portion sizes to all be wonderful. Congratulations to the new owners and management team / staff! I was very impressed and very satisfied!
