This is the best place I've swam during my time in Australia. The National Park itself is beautiful, but this beach is a must. I was there on Aug 31 and it was the perfect temperature for swimming. Not many people in the water as it was still winter but I had no problem with the water temperature and managed to dry off in my bathing suit on the beach after.

Murrays Beach is definitely one of my favorite beaches along the NSW coast. Although there’s a $20 fee per car for the Booderee National Park, it’s absolutely worth it. The water is crystal clear, and the whole beach feels like a tropical island. The waves are gentle, the sands are so white and soft, making it great for kids to play safely. The only downside is that during my last week visit, I noticed quite a few dead bees on the sand, which caused some people to get stung on their feet. But overall, it’s such an awesome spot to check out!

Jervis Bay was an incredible experience. Firstly, the people who lived there were absolutely amazing, friendly Aussies who cared about you. we visited jervis bay , Hyams beach with expectation to see illuminating beach at night on 24th october. But unfortunately we were disappointed and 350 kms of drive was just wasted. It is a request to the local council to take this seriously to promote guided tourism and meeting expectations of the visitors on their website. Our second favorite beach on the south coast. It's nice and secluded. Each time we went, it was nice and quiet. Plenty of exploring for the kids to do. The water was absolutely stunning. Crystal clear. There are amenities close by, parking seems limited but still, it wasn't busy so we were able to park easily. Nice and local to food outlets. Definitely can't wait to visit again.

Blenheim Beach is a gorgeous little horseshoe beach, and part of the White Sands Walk in Jervis Bay National Park. With the same coloured water, sand and sky as its famous neighbour Hyams, this relatively unknown spot is where the locals go to avoid those awful invading Sydneysiders like… er… us. In fact you should probably stop reading this now and just scroll on to something else, or the local friend who told us about this one may get cranky about sharing the secret.
It’s surrounded by dense sloping bushland giving the whole bush-to-beach experience and is known for having some of the best snorkelling in the bay near it’s little rocky headlands. It was simply made of win: Hyams without the horror, the influencers or the battle for parking. We’d never been before but will certainly return. Just don’t tell anyone, ok?

Absolutely stunning beach. It’s a hidden beach, just a bit away from the popular beaches of Jervis Bay. Less popular means, lesser crowds. Although we couldn’t snorkel, it is popular for snorkeling aswell.
BBQ facilities and toilets are close by. Access to the beach is via stairs so might be difficult for disabled. There is also a beautiful trail all the way upto Hyams Beach.

Set in the Jervis Bay National Park, Greenfield Beach offers more of the area’s famous crystal clear waters and soft white sands, without the crazy crowds and manic influencers of nearby Hyams Beach.
We visited at the beginning and end of the day, and it’s beautiful at either, but perhaps leave the snorkelling gear in the car for this one as there’s not a lot happening under the water.
There’s no fees and parking is free, but we suspect it might get hectic in mid-Summer.
The picnic area has free electric barbecues, clean drinking water, cold showers, toilets, sheltered eating areas, and wheelchair access. It’s all super family friendly and people were using it late into the evening.

Absolutely stunning beach, lined with gorgeous bushland and a creek/rivermouth. Small bay waves but fun enough for kids to bodysurf. Water was crystal clear, white soft sand and lots of beautiful rock pools to explore. We found a few decent size crabs. Not many parking spots so didn’t get too crowded. We came early in the morning and snagged a beautiful shady spot. One of the best beaches I’ve been to anywhere in the world.

Very good family level camping in the south coast. Good access to beautiful white sandy Hyams beach. Few minutes drive to Huskisson. This is an easy level camping, you can take the family and the kids here, Hell!, even grandma can come. Comes with heated water, good toilet and washing facilities. Safe, fires only on designated spots though. The rangers come and do their rounds from time to time. Not sure if they really check number of cars or if they are registered on booking. Comes with a bit of a price and for good reason. Lots of wildlife in the campgrounds, wallabies, kangaroos, possums and kookaburras. There are plenty of good hikes around as well.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Green Patch camp site at Booderee National Park. We have to say that for the exorbitant fees we paid for the drive in, no power site we were extremely disappointed.
The park is beautiful, no doubt, but the facilities were poor and dirty.
The showers require you to push a button every 10 or so seconds which is rediculous and unworkable. The floors in the amenities look like they haven't been cleaned in many moons. We saw some young men go in to clean the amenities one day and were out in 15 minutes. There was actually no change in the cleanliness. i.e they did no or only token cleaning. There is simply not enough cubicles and urinals to support the size of the camp. It definitely seems as though the camp is designed for form not function.
On top of this we were told there was a faucet available to fill up our offline van during our stay. We found a faucet with no handle and even after requesting the handle from a ranger nothing happened.
The other disconcerting thing in the park is the sheer volume of signs related to paying park fees .. they are literally everywhere and ruin the whole natural experience.
In our opinion the park has been turned into a purely money making exercise with little no thought of the user experience. The management and the costs of the park needs urgent review as they do not in any way represent a good experience or good value.
This is quite distinct from other NSW Parks we visited during our trip (i.e Warrunbungles National Park) which were beautiful and very well maintained and managed at one sixth the price.

Honeymoon Bay Campground is one of my favourites, located on the Beecroft Peninsula.
The location is fantastic, offering breathtaking walks like Silica Cove and Target Beach, both of which showcase stunning natural beauty. The beach itself is pristine and perfect for relaxing or exploring.

What a lovely spot this is! Only 15 dollars per night and very easy to make reservations online. We did a couple of hikes from the campground, visited the lighthouse, enjoyed a snorkel in the bay and saw one of the most beautiful sunsets we have seen in Australia, especially because some dolphins decided to pass by just when the sun touched the water! Green patch is a nice long beach with lots of room. When I went, not many people were there and everyone was pretty much spread out. The water is beautiful, but honestly pretty similar to other beaches around Vincentia and Husskison (except for the beautiful drive to the beach through the Booderee National Park). The sand was soft and felt nice to put my feet in. The day I went, the waves were more on the heavy side, but they had beautiful colours. I could see some of the Husskison Passage Tour boats drive through so that was pretty cool. A Must-Do Experience in Jervis Bay!
We’ve travelled to Jervis Bay 3 times now specifically to go whale watching with Jervis Bay Wild, and once again, they did not disappoint.
The crew are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their commentary strikes a great balance between educational and entertaining.
We were lucky enough to spot a couple of pods of humpback whales, including calves, and they stayed around long enough for everyone on board to enjoy the moment without rushing.
Traveller Tip:
Even if it’s warm on land, bring a jacket (preferably waterproof). We went out at 1pm on a 26-degree day, and I was still grateful for my cardigan once the sea breeze picked up. Better to be prepared so you can relax and enjoy the view.
If you're considering a whale tour in Jervis Bay, don’t hesitate. We'll happily be back again.

I went on the Jervis Bay Passage yesterday, and it was absolutely AMAZING. What a fantastic experience. The sun shone, the sea was calm, and just sailing around all the Bay was wonderful. As we went by areas of interest, our captain gave very informative and interesting stories. The high cliffs by the lighthouse were spectacular. When we saw a Sun Fish, he drifted back so that we could watch it. Nothing was too much trouble. We saw a few seals too and the dolphins greeted us back into harbour. This was a nice cruise experience, filled with pure rainbows surrounding the bay area from the light rain. And we saw some dolphin activity! 🐬👍
Although, I would not suggest booking cruises in the winter, unless you'd like to witness some bright rainbows! It can easily be cancelled due to harsh weather conditions, and our experience was not the opposite. It was incredibly foggy and rainy, abit difficult to capture any sealife, though when we did- it was for a short period of time. Slightly underwhelming to say the least, since we couldn't venture into the open ocean or the cliff sides.
Still a nice experience overall, I haven't been on a cruise in many years.

We joined a dolphin-watching cruise in Jervis Bay and while we didn’t spot any dolphins during the actual cruise, we were lucky to see one near the jetty just before boarding—which was still a nice surprise!
The crew were friendly and knowledgeable, and the boat ride itself was relaxing with beautiful views of the bay. Even without many dolphins, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon on the water. Would definitely try again—nature doesn’t always follow the schedule!

Crew is amazing and the tour was great. The crew are so caring, constantly asking how their guests are and ensuring that they could see the dolphins swimming near the boat. The tour purposefully and respectfully finds and follows the dolphins to allow everyone a great experience. We had such a good time that we also booked the whale watching tour a few days later. While the wine selection was impressive and well-curated, the overall experience was unfortunately let down by the service and food. Our meals arrived lukewarm/cold at best. The staff seemed distracted, disengaged and this is clear and evident in the aggressive response/s given by the owner to an honest review. If the staff were approachable we would have raised our concerns regarding the food. However, the table next to us had provided honest feedback to the staff and they were met with hostile staff. Read all past reviews carefully as this is and has been an ongoing issue for years, it appears. Wish we had seen the reviews earlier.
Our feedback was passed on to our tour company.
It's a shame, because the wine itself was excellent — but it deserves to be enjoyed in an environment that matches its quality. Sadly, that wasn't the case here. This is a rare gem: a small winery that actually practices estate viticulture, growing the grapes they produce their wine from. This integrity is something I wholeheartedly admire, especially when so many modern operations simply source and sell bulk wine.

They were knowledgeable about the wines and how they were produced and happy to share stories about the beautiful Coolangatta Estate. My daughter got married in October 2025 on the estate the bridal party stayed the night on arrival with myself around 3.15pm there were no staff to be seen, we entered my daughters room which was lovely but very disappointed to see they hadn't even left a bottle of wine to say congratulations on your wedding especially its a winery.
Come Saturday morning on my arrival at 7.30 am I brought some pastry for the bridal party as they couldn't even get something to eat, as the morning went on I seen alot of staff walking around but still no one came to see if we needed anything, I went to the cellar to buy some wine for us girls and still not a word about do we need anything.
The bridal party did organise with the winery to have some drinks brought up for when they were doing their photos but again NOTHING.
The estate was beautiful my daughters wedding was amazing but I dont think I would recommend anyone to spend that kind of money at a place that dosent have the care factor..
What I seen at the cellar area the drive in customers got alot more attention with spending such a smaller amount of $.

The drive to this attraction spot is rather long, not really scenic and there's no nearby attractions within 10mins drive. So making the trip here is really only for this, and I personally don't find the experience rewarding enough for such an effort, hence the 4 stars. There are better lookouts around Jervis Bay - Cape St George Lighthouse for example.
The surrounding can be improved with better looking fences, maybe it's just under renovation now. There's a checkpoint to enter this reserve area but we didn't have to pay anything despite not having any national park pass. Parking spaces are plenty, do a 400m walk to the main viewpoint. There is a mobile toilet cube, but very poorly maintained. Would advice to empty your bladder before starting the journey! It's extremely windy up there too so prep your jackets on a cold day.
Do check out my pictures as they are self explanatory about the views. I see some doing extreme rock climbing in the area too so maybe that's an activity you can check out too.

You can only go here at certain times so check beforehand. There's no seating anywhere at the lighthouse unless you get a tour inside I'm guessing. The roads have deep drainage dips that can easily bottom out your car if you miss the signs. It was so windy we only stayed for 10min. Not much to read on the information board. Staff at the entry gate were very friendly and helpful. Next time I would book a tour of the lighthouse. Is a beautiful building as are the sandstone military buildings next to it.

This lookout was one of the highlights of our holiday, and to think others live near this!
One of the key features to this lookout was the drive, not too far away from Jervis Bay- and before hitting the parking lot, we were met with an influx of vibrant forestry overlooking the Horizons edge.
Upon arrival, we were met with the ruins of the houses that many individuals inhabited. Stone walkways, alternative trails and a picnic bench near the rock pools. Deeper into the ruins, there is a taller lookout you can come across, where we were met with a sea eagle above. Great spot for family photos.
Nearing the edge of the cliffside, there's a small fence barricading you from going further, except it is not wrapped fully around the edge, and making it easy to climb over. This is for parents with adventurous kids to stay cautious of, not to let their kid off-leash and explore, since there are several entry way points to come close to the edge and fall down without anyone noticing.
Despite the exceptional view, it is a hazard- and when going around it myself and to the cliffs edge, there were broken glass particles on the ground. Not a good sign. I took a short panning video of how high we truly were, panning across my feet and the drop below.
A good fact is that going off to the coastal edge of Australia, it is in fact just a huge drop, just like this!

Iluka beach is next level take-your-breath-away beautiful. You enter through @seebooderee national park. It’s lush, fertile and green, so when you get your first diamond-shaped glimpse of aquamarine sea it’s like a mirage. A quick walk through the trees to the powdery white sand and your feet are almost in the waters of Jervis Bay. Unlike the more famous neighbour, Hyams Beach, Iluka is sparsely populated with people and without any millionaire mansions in sight. If you can ignore a little camping infrastructure up the way at Green Patch and the naval warships looming in the bay, it’s pretty much as nature intended it to be. We even saw dolphins cruising for snacks along the drop-off. This one is a beauty.

Beautiful spot. We went here when Hyams filled up. You'll need to pay to get into the national park. $13 for a 2-day pass (Jan 2024). There are toilets down the north end. There's not much parking.
Watch out for the giant red bull ants. They are aggressive and give a nasty sting/bite.
Apart from that the sand is beautiful, white and soft. The waves are small which is great for kids. There's no shops so pack your own food and drink.
I'd recommend packing a shade tent/umbrella. I wouldn't recommend sitting near the bush/trees due to the ants.

Back at Currarong Beach again today and it is such a great holiday destination and I would definitely rank this beach as one of the best beaches in Australia for those learning to surf and for those wanting to get away for daily life.
Only a small community around here so not overly busy when here outside of school holidays.
During the holidays though is another story – it can get very very busy.
Currarong Beach is definitely a beautiful place to be and it is only located a couple of hours drive south from Sydney and I would highly recommend others to visit if you get the chance to.
Good coffee and breakfast just down the road too where you can eat in or takeaway to the beach.
Plenty to do or not do and a nice place to just rest and get away from the city life. It is part of Jervis Bay with white sands and other places of interest to visit nearby.
Great for families and young kids.
Not a patrolled beach but rips aren’t crazy bad here but still keep an eye out.

Although an ocean beach, it's sheltered from wilder weather especially in the southern part; perfect. So there are waves to splash around in, and to wash sand castles away, but in general not so powerful. If you go north, it roughens up for older kids. Honeymoon Bay in Freycinet National Park is such great spot. It’s within Tasmania’s stunning national park system and is a little slice of paradise that feels almost too beautiful to be real. The highlight is undoubtedly the clear and bright teal water. I couldn’t believe the color of the water.
This spot is the ultimate lunch spot. We packed simple sandwiches and ate amongst the begging seagulls. We sat on some of the smooth rocks and soaked in the serene atmosphere. The weather was perfect—crisp and sunny.

Nice beach with calm waters and rocks to explore. Access is fairly easy but you have to drive through a boom gate as it is part of a military zone. Unfortunately, the water was very mirky when I came, most likely due to heavy rain. You may be fortunate enough to see wild kanagaroos randomly pop up. The only down sides are there are no fresh water facilities to wash yourself with, as well as only being portable toilets. Other than those, am sure you'll love it here.

An absolutely spectacular little beach. Great for all water based activities: kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling, fishing and rock pooling! A beautiful little campsite which is open most weekends and holiday periods. Definitely a beach not to miss when visiting the Beecroft Peninsula (make sure it is open before driving around by checking Facebook page or calling the Beecroft Ranger Station). I booked The Shed for our honeymoon and am so glad I did, it was the perfect secluded setting for a few nights away. When our plans had to change last minute due to a death in the family, the Broger’s End staff were incredibly accommodating in adjusting our booking. It meant we could still have a honeymoon and experience the wonderful farm environment they have created. We will definitely be back. The beds are comfy, the coffee machine an amazing addition and plenty of space for a group getaway too. Oh and we were able to bring our dog which is always a bonus!

Not a patrolled beach, but if you are down the cave end, it is safe if you are a strong swimmer. Good for bodyboards and surfing. The other end of the beach has a lot of rips and is not a good place to swim.
