Curlew Cafe in Coochiemudlo is now under new management, resulting in an updated menu with delectable options. The staff are exceedingly friendly and demonstrated their competence when faced with a recent EFTPOS malfunction. There are various seating choices available, ensuring that multiple visits won't become monotonous. Additionally, this cafe offers the best coffee on the island and is currently the sole option available.

Congratulations to Joe, his chef & his friendly staff, you have taken quality to the top level & I felt that I had to give you a glowing review for your efforts. My breakfast was mouthwatering my delicious & gave me that boost of energy that I needed to face a busy day.
The best tasting, best presented & the best sized breakfast that I have had the joy of eating.
I ordered the vegetarian breakfast stack, Joe was there & served me & adding extra tomato & an extra egg to my order was not a worry.
The meal was generous size & every bit of it was fresh & perfectly cooked.
The presentation was as good as you would expect from a high end restaurant, see attached picture.
The atmosphere is chilled & relaxed.
After eating that I decided that that was 10 out of 10 perfection!
I highly recommend trying this meal with the couple of extras I added. Absolutely beautiful taste combination.

Had brunch at Curlew Café during our visit to Coochiemudlo Island. The place was quite busy, and while service was friendly, the ambience wasn’t the most relaxing — it felt a bit cramped for a beachside café.
We ordered the steak sandwich and Atlantic salmon, both of which were nicely cooked and enjoyable. However, the salt and pepper calamari portion was quite small and a bit disappointing compared to the rest of the dishes. On the bright side, the ice creams were absolutely lovely — creamy, refreshing, and the perfect treat after lunch.
Overall, a decent spot for a casual meal if you’re visiting the island, but a few tweaks could make the experience even better.

I've downed one star because I ordered hot chips at lunch time and was told it'd be a 25min wait. I'm glad I was told so I could choose not to wait, however there were no other savoury options instantly available (only cakes/sweet pastries). We arrived earlier in morning & had nice coffees and scone, beaut curlews awandering! Then we walked to beach on the other side of Coochie and back to this (only) cafe for lunch but didn't want that 25min wait so headed back to mainland. Quality of service, scone/coffee/sorbet, atmosphere, toilet facilities all great.

You can’t eat anywhere else on the island for breakfast so had a go! The initial breakfast we had was ok. Coffee we got a double shot and still wonder did we get it tasted ok but over all was ok. I must say I’m underwhelmed by this cafe. Twice I have been there now and both times the food has taken an age to come out. Today I was told it would be a 30 minute wait, yet it took over 45 minutes for my steak sandwich to arrive. Admittedly it was a public holiday in some parts of Brisbane, but the cafe doesn’t seem to have taken this into account, closing the kitchen at 1pm and turning many people away. On an island with limited food options this is unacceptable. Last time I was there they didn’t have the excuse of a public holiday and a simple burger took over an hour to make.

Petit but sweet, clean & lovely stalls of crafts, farm produce and food. Along both sides of the market are a couple of lovely small cafés serving great pastries & coffees too. Besides the market itself you could enjoy the beautiful leafy area too. Very nice way to spend a Sunday morning with friends & family. I'd say more stalls of different varieties would be even better. We come here allll the time. It's either the potato twisters, the ice tea, or the amazingly-smelling Creamy Caramels candles from the breathe love lady. Barcella's Resteraunt, for dinner i had the slow cooked King Henry Lamb shank with red wine jus sauce, green beans and beautiful creamy mash potatoes. The lamb shank was a 530 gram cooking sensation deliciously, melt in the mouth and falling off the bone! You won't go home hungry after this one. The music was nice every Saturday night, seating outside is beautiful by the lake. Booking is essential if you would like to sit outside i would recommend. Ask for a table closer to the water where you can look over the balcony and see the turtles. When you arrive at Barcella's the Menu Outside displays the lunch and breakfast Menus. Not so much the Dinner Menu, so when you go ask at the counter to see the Dinner Menu. I have posted the Dinner Menu. The prawn entree was delicious, as always cruncy texture and fresh. I have been back to this place, 4 times now during the day, afternoon, and for Dinner.

Spent the day doing a cultural tour and workshop with local Quandamooka woman Delvene Cockatoo-Collins. I have been to Minjerribah several times, but still learnt so much! From the history of the island to the traditional method of making twine. Delvene was so generous with her time, art, cultural knowledge and story. It was such a special experience. My check engine light came on as soon as I got on the ferry to straddie. Hopped off and called Andy straight away. He didn’t have his scanner on him so said he’d meet me at his listed address. He ended up driving behind me the whole way and noticed my break light was out. My check engine light was off by the time we got to his, the scanner diagnosed a very small basically non-issue but Andy was still more than happy to replace my bulb free of charge.
