They both throughly enjoyed the Play Trail, being able to use all the apparatus. The final part, the adventure playground was also a hit. Impeccably clean and well laid out. The Visitor Centre staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe was expensive as they often are in parks. One thing did puzzle me and my wife wouldn't let me ask. Why is a large tea 50p than a medium tea but you only get one tea bag so it struck me strange that you get charged 50p for a slash of extra water. But £2.25 for a canned drink is obscene. I would love to visit again if we ever come to the area again, we were there about three hours. One of our party was on a mobility scooter, bumpy but easy to get around. I wouldn't fancy pushing a wheelchair though.

Warmly greeted on arraival and shown to our table, which also seemed to show off the tardis like nature of the place, seemings bigger than the outside would suggest. A good range of ales as well as low to no options. The sunday menu is pretty much geared towards a traditional Sunday Lunch. Orders were taken and starters delivered within a reasonable time, the staff were attentive and the time between starters and mains pretty much bang on. The portions were generous, but not excessively so. I do have to mention the quality of the meat, excellently prepared and with a wonderful, thick, tasty gravy to pour over it and into the Yorkshire, top draw. The Old Thatch was busy, buzzing, but not to the point you would struggle with conversation. The question of do you want desert met with a smile. The Sticky Toffee pudding was excellent and they do proffiter role of the day. Highly recommended.

The location is beautiful, very cosy pub, dogs are welcome and we had a nice table in the corner for more comfort and peace. The food was really good, our friends were impressed about the burgers and the pies. Fish and chips was also fantastic. Prices as average pubs in the area. My only note would be on the service: I rarely met such a blunt and little welcoming waitress. Staff in Mc Donald's or Starbucks are far more smiley, nicer and kinder with their customers. I have to say, I'm sorry I didn't know about this hidden gem before. The restraunt is beautiful but on a sunny bank holiday we sat in the garden. Lots of places to sit and the tables are well spaced out. Very different to the packed in feeling of most pub gardens. Very relaxed feeling. There is a lovely children's play area with smaller section for tots and a bouncy castle too. I think my 6 year old would have stayed all day given the choice. The menu is varied enough to cater to most people and the addition of the Barrel and Stone pizzas is fantastic. From an allergy view point, many items are available with gluten and vegan options and the rarity of gluten and dairy free. The kids meals are of a decent size and the starter soup of the day was huge. Food tasted great and was a reasonable price especially given the location. Free WiFi throughout The place is wheelchair accessible and has decent accessible toilets too but there are some gravel areas to the outside. Unfortunately the outdoor tables wouldn't be easily accessed by a wheelchair as the benches aren't removable. We didn't have the wheelchair with us so didnt pursue further and they may have a solution Looking forward to coming back soon to try sunday lunch.

Booked Drift Inn for 2pm. We asked if the whole menu was available and we're assured it was. On arrival, the table was not ready, it was not busy, and there was only a limited Sunday menu. We gave one of the staff the birthday cake and we had balloons on the table brought in by us. The food was okay, and was able to accommodate dietary requirements. What let the lunch down was the customer service and general awareness of our needs. Once the mains were done no dessert menu or coffees were offered and the cake, well, we never bothered as there was no indication of, would you like us to bring out the cake. We even provided candles and matches. Very disappointing and we were never even asked if everything was okay. It felt like staff were just going through the motions. When the food arrived there was no sharing plate. Apparently they hadn't put it on the order, when we asked why we had still been charged approximately what we expected, they told us they had added on a service charge. It does say this on the menu but it's in text so small that you could very easily miss it in a dimly lit pub. It's worth noting that for this service charge, we had to get up and walk over to somebody to order. We had to find someone to request cutlery after the food arrived since they had forgotten and we had to get up to order drinks at the bar. The food itself was not great, it was the sort of food I'd expect from Wetherspoons, only twice as expensive and half the size. It was way too expensive for what we actually received. The biggest issue, however, was following the meal when we ordered some coffees. It's worth mentioning that there was only one other table in the restaurant at this point in the evening. Somehow, after 30 minutes of waiting, the coffees hadn't arrived so we asked to cancel them and have a refund instead. We were told that the only way to get a refund is to fill out a form, give them all sorts of details (Name, address, bank card details, etc) and they would put those details into some system later to give us a refund. They said there was no possible way to simply refund the payment to the card, like every other shop/restaurant can. Anyway, this all took place a week and a half ago and there's still been no refund. When I chased it up, I was told that it takes them 5-7 days for them to initiate the refund AND THEN 5-7 days for the bank to actually send the money back. This place used to be quite nice about 5 years ago but now it just feels like I'm being scammed. They shouldn't need me to fill out an invasive form to receive a refund for some coffees I'd paid for 30 minutes earlier. Come here if you're somebody who doesn't care if you receive your order, if you don't care if you have any cutlery to eat it with, if you don't care about the quality if it actually does arrive, and if you're not bothered about getting a refund after your order fails to show up.

The food was lovely I had a jacket potato and it came with a lovely salad and garnish. It tasted so good. Amazing value for money. The best meal and service I had all weekend. It was such good fun. We went on a Friday (free parking) at the end of September so it was pretty quiet. Ben was our one to one tutor on the wakeboarding which I'd never done before but managed to get up first time. We walked around the brown trail but it wasn't obvious where to start from and I think we went the wrong way. There wasn't many posts on the way round to show you were on the right track. The main field area next to the car park was nice and spacious and there's a little playground there if you're taking kids, plus plenty of benches to sit down at. The only disappointing bits were the lack of decent signage about where to start walks and posts showing you are on the right track and that they advertise a river walk on all the signs but it seems you can't do that anymore. Also there is no real path for the meadow walk and the first bridge we came to was questionable to cross on that trail. Although it had a good picnic area, I would recommend you definitely bring your own food, the cafe is absolutely extortionate and so overpriced. There were toilets and a van serving ice cream with a small choice of dairy-free and gluten free options too and plenty of picnic benches dotted around. We ended the trip with a coffee trip into the nearby village of Lyndhurst. Well worth the visit!

They have a food truck service if you aren't bringing your own dinner, these differ each night, we had the fish & chips which was lovely and really reasonably priced! The facilities such as the toilets and showers are really good, absolutely spotless! Great for walking, cycling in the area, or taking a short drive to the lovely Burley Village, I think whatever time of the year you decide to go you'll have a great time! Visited a year ago and was not impressed but WOW, now it is practically faultless Showers and toilets excellent and kept spotless. Bar fabulous and friendly as is the shop! The 1st was in 2019 and it was lovely, hence coming back. Well we weren't disappointed, it's even nicer now. Every pitch is well thought out, hedges have been planted to add separation and a touch of privacy. Everyone staying on site was friendly. The dog walk is amazing and our 3 pooches loved it. We also walked in Hurn Forest, which is just over the main road. Amazing place to walk the dogs and did multiple 6 mile walks there. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The little site shop had some lovely treats for us humans and our dogs. Montys bar is a lovely addition and does not cause any disturbance to the peaceful atmosphere of the site. The site is so quiet and everyone respected that. It's also very dark a night, which meant plenty of stars to see. We will definitely be coming back!

Could not find any fault with the toilets and shower blocks. Really clean and had underfloor heating which was very welcome! The bar is a fantastic touch. Well stocked and reasonably priced. The staff were all super friendly. The grounds and Woodlands around the site are beautiful as is Emma's glade where we camped. Might be one of the best equipped campsites I've stayed at and the staff should be very proud of the job they've done and continue to do to maintain the place. Unfortunately, the road noise was really quite loud, even at night. If camping it is worth noting as we struggled to get off to sleep most nights. Obviously this can't be helped, but be aware.

We covered about 6000 steps but could have gone much further. There are flat paths and hilly bits, heathland and shaded tree lined routes, a real variety in a small area.
