However, the food was average, and considering that it was peak holiday time, not all things on the menu were available. My fish burger repeated on me for hours afterwards, the crust of the pizza and the woodfired bread was delicious. However, the toppings of the pizza did not taste very good for whatever reason. We came on a triva night and arrived at 545pm. There was a storm earlier but the rain had stopped. All the tables that we could sit at indoor were reserved from 630pm, 645pm. 1 high table was available at the bar but we didn't feel comfortable subjecting our children to bad language and looking at a bar. We had to sit outside with our dog and we ordered and paid from our table and didn't realise we needed to actually pick up our own food. Sitting with our hungry children waiting for food to arrive. It got very windy and bark and leaves fall on our food and drinks. Worst experience. Would not recommend this place. They could have let us sit and eat at a table that was reserved for a later time. Triva night might bring regulars but its the holiday makers that write the reviews.

The bar attendant and atmosphere was actually quite nice, however the quality and exorbitant price of the food was a major problem. The marinated olives were straight Kalamata olives from a jar - no marination what so ever. When questioned about this, the response was they were marinated in olive oil and lemon juice. Straight up lie. No olive oil or lemon, just left over brine. The pork bites? don’t bother. They taste good, however you get 4 or 5 of them and they are very small. Not a “bite” size, more like a “nibble” size. I’m not even going to start with the mains. Pumpkin risotto lacks pumpkin. The ‘cost’ to ‘food quantity’ ratio is way off. I need not go on. There was a lot of good aspects to this place. I ordered the seafood plate and mixed vegetables. The seafood plate in my picture was $42.90 and contained six pieces of seafood and a packet dressing for my salad. The walk was steep and rough at times and took a while to reach. Nonetheless, it was well worth the trip as the beach is expansive and private, the sand is pristine and the ocean view is awesome. We frolicked on the beach sand, played with the crashing waves and sat on the beautiful rocks to watch the day go by. With plentiful of liquids and towel to dry off, the day is guaranteed to be beautiful. BTW, parking was a pain and we were fortunate to find the last slot on Verona Road. After the trip we found out that it is a Grade 4 Track where some bush-walking experience is recommended and it is 2 km return! Looking forward to some whale and dolphin watching in the near future. Scenery is amazing at the top of the dune when you emerge. The spit is a dangerous place at the wrong time, make sure you time it with the tide. We had a look at when it was low tide and then aimed to start the walk across an hour before hand. Didn’t end up happening that way tho haha, we crossed an hour after low tide, spent about an hour across the other side then crossed back and it was still wide. The main attraction across the other side it the light house and the old residence. A beautiful walk and well worth a visit. It’s not a short trek however.

Public bathrooms were kind of gross and stinky, I walked in and walked out without using them. The beach is patrolled 8am-6pm and is very family friendly. Reception was cheery, friendly and helpful. The cabin was essentially 'dated' as I expected from the website photos, but absolutely fine and felt very clean and lovely. All cooking facilities aircon and ceiling fan. Double bed only. The park doesn't have any playground facility's and no riding of scooters on site. There are tennis courts for hire for a fee and a small playground right across the street. There is no wifi as there is not the best phone service, so this may affect anyone working on the road. Nice enough pool, I don't believe it is heated. The only downfall on that was it is home to a bunch of friendly ducks on site who were swimming and defecating in and out of the pool which turned me off using it. I would like to see that some improvements are made to deter the ducks from the pool as they can cause some serious health illnesses with germs they carry esp with pooping in the pool. Otherwise its a great little spot to walk to some lovely bays. Sunset beach you will find many beautiful soldier crabs. Location is fine is great, however you will need to drive to other areas for large supermarkets pubs and restaurant options. I would visit again. Thanks

The bed was very comfortable. Staff were helpful at reception. I took my toddler and they really enjoyed. Next time I would ask for a tent further up from the mariner as there was a bit of car and people noise on the Saturday night. Also barely slept on the Friday night as a large flock of white birds were squawking like mad in the gum tree next to our tent, even with ear plugs it was crazy loud.

It was larger than I expected and well kept. The succulent garden in particular was my favourite, and there is lots of walking trails to explore too.
