A giant redwood (Sequoia) is one of the areas, which is definitely worth seeing as well as a plant that looks like it's being chained to the ground - I don't remember what it's called but it looks impressive and I've definitely never seen one before! A bonus is that entrance is free and there is a small outdoor cafe that I assume is open seasonally (?) - sadly it wasn't open when I was visiting. It also wasn't crowded when I visited, which made the experience even more enjoyable. With its location so close to the waterfront, it's worth visiting if you're in the area to take a break or just to see the butterflies!

I wanted to give Man Bo another try so we went back for lunch today and had yum cha and half a roast duck. The roasted duck, ginger noodles and Kai lan were all excellent. The steamed dumplings had a lovely flavour however the glutinous pastry was so sticky they fell apart lifting them from the bamboo steamers. Sadly the chicken pie and roast pork pastry buns were not available due to a lack of oven space due to the ducks being cooked. If yum cha is only available 3 lunches per week all the menu items should be available sorry. The duck bao and Sui mai were nothing special.

I would love to have seen some mulled wine or cider or perhaps some carol singers around the place. The produce is amazing and while I understand it is all homemade, it is very expensive to the average family wanting to buy lots of gifts, I couldn’t really afford a lot of the products there, only some of the food stuff like the delicious fudge. Also I felt like there was a lot of the same thing being sold there at different stalls, for example lots of candles and jewellery. It was a lovely event to attend but didn’t meet my Christmassy expectations!
