As a historical true crime nerd, a tour of the Lizzie Borden house has been a longtime goal of mine and it did not disappoint! Larry was a phenomenal, engaging, and knowledgeable story-teller. There are tons of trails, from wooded paths to carriage roads. It's a perfect property for families as most of the trails are very stroller and kid friendly. There's even a lovely little covered picnic area right off one of the main paths. Their favorites were the music room, the doctor room and the space explorer-themed indoor playground. We also noticed that the outdoor playground has an open gate near the road, so definitely be cautious with letting your kids roam too close to the outer portion of that area. Wonderful hosts! We flew in from Florida to stay at the Borden Flats lighthouse over a weekend in April of this year and had an awesome time! The lighthouse decor has an antique and cozy feel, we were instantly right at home. The weather was cool yet comfortable, we used the furnaces in the evenings which made things that much more cozy. We loved sitting out on the deck watching the boats and water go by, it was so relaxing being “off the grid”. Other than THAT, which I have no insider knowledge of how prevalent it is or not, I really enjoyed my trip.
