Mixwell Bar is one of the most happening open-minded bars in Bali, if you know what I mean, and probably draws the biggest crowd. I visited on a low-season Saturday night and it was super packed—to the point that getting a second drink was impossible and moving around was just as difficult. They have drag shows spread throughout the night and also gogo boy dancers to entertain the crowd. A good place to meet locals and foreigners.

Unfortunately 2 things I don't like Smoking is allowed and it sucks, really....and the music is too loud, I went with friends we couldn't hear each other speak. Shows are fun, some boys are cute, music is mainly pop and dance. I always order beer so I don't have to be afraid of the apparently fake drinks with methanol and such stuff. Pickpockets? Maybe...I recommend to leave phone and creditcards in the hotel safe and just take necessary cash and you'll be ok. Have fun and let's keep on supporting our few LGBT spaces left in Bali.

Waited 40min for their 10pm drag show and we left by 10.20pm cause it still hadn’t started. They clearly intentionally do this to bridge the gap and retain people for their 11pm show. Which is annoying…. Just be honest about your actual show start times. The cigarette smoke is also gross - keep up with the times and ban smoking indoors!

My god, what a blast we had! The DJ was popping (great retro+modern EDM), the spectacular drag stars were dragging, the dancers were go-go-ing. Service was friendly. All in all a winning combo.
The drinks were good, but I'd stick to the beers; frankly the food and drinks are just incidental once showtime begins.

It was a last minute decision to visit this bar. But so glad we did. The atmosphere was epic. Excellent DJ. Amazing drag shows.
Drinks were priced OK. It got very busy after 10pm and you can easily lose your seat if you wander off for a dance. Made some great new friends and had a memorable time.

The place is small and smoker sensitive individual please beware. All the gay bars allowed indoor smoking so proceed with caution. The drink prices were sure high. It was surely nice to see live performances at this place but there were simply too many people to not have someone push or shove you every 20-30 mins. I find Mixwell better for spacing. Lastly, our time there was surely a mixed bag as there was a rude server lady who would push and shove rather than say excuse me. This definitely soured our experience there.

We started out next door but it was so crowded so we came here instead . The music was great, chill and we were having a great time. I then ordered an Absolut and soda water (this was the second drink from the same bartender). I watched him pour me well vodka so I politely told him that I wanted Absolut and he claimed he had in fact poured it. My first oversea LGBTQ+ bar experience, everyone there from the staff to customers were so friendly and everyone was just having a good time, we got a few cocktails through the night and every single one of them tasted way better than the one we had in Singapore. Everyone was so welcoming and the performances from the queens were next level. The hospitality from the staff was incredible and the DJ was amazing as well. It’s so peaceful to sit around and listen to the music and the waves on the beach. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, but sometimes they’re not as attentive if you’re sitting in a tucked-away spot.
The food is delicious. I had the double cheese smash burger for lunch, which was really tasty, and a side of hand-cut fries. My partner and I each had a woodfired pizza, chorizo and beef, which was very filling, especially since we hadn’t eaten lunch that day. For our final dinner, we had some sides, including tripled-cooked rustic potatoes, salt and pepper chilli chicken, and duck egg rolls, which were also delicious.
This is a wonderful place to go if you’re staying in Seminyak. It’ll definitely be a fond memory that I’ll always want to return to.

Walked into Mexicola on a Sunday night! Took a grab bike there and I would suggest all solo traveller or friends should take one for the convenience + the fact you’re going to be having a bloody good night!!!!
The space is such a VIBE’ loved the aesthetics and convenience of entry!
We didn’t get a seat for the first 20 minutes as it was packed but the minute I caught a server walking past they got me a seat by the bar for 2 overlooking the dance floor which was fun!
Slightly on the expensive side of things as it does add up to the same price you’d pay in Australia for a tequila or a cocktail. I’d say even more expensive but it’s worth visiting for the vibe the team creates.
Keep up the pulled taco with the sauce was just mouthwatering…didn’t enjoy the fish taco too much. Like the tacos but there’s a lot you could work on with the flavours.
I’ll be back once I return to Bali. A must visit if you’re in Seminyak and wanna have a happy dance 🪩

Great food! If you aren’t a fan of spicy cuisine, I probably would recommend you stay away from the jalapeño sauce they offer you! Other than that the atmosphere is amazing! It’s colourful, unique and incredibly interesting to look at. Every surface is covered in beautiful patterns, and neon signs and wonderfully unusual lights are everywhere you look. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they are nice enough to warn you when you order something spicy!

This is 1st time we tried mexican food it turn out so good. Strange taste yet feels familiar.. And sometimes the waitress will come to u with a bottle of alcohol, offering u taste 1 mouthfull (i got 2 times, and it strongg alcohol like 12% i think but taste good)

At one point they played the Nutbush and everyone, including the staff, jumped up to dance which made the night unforgettable. Great music, good food, and an even better vibe. Without a doubt the best restaurant in Bali. They have the loveliest team and guests. I can highly recommend the Nasi Goreng and fresh juices. Everything is just so yum. They also let you store your bike helmet inside which is very convenient for me. Seriously one of the best bars I've been to in Indonesia! So much fun and the night we were there we had a band who was doing exclusive requests of songs - they know a fair few!
Very glad to find this place and much better than in the local area. We were here earlier so got a lot of requests in ourselves before it got busy! Drinks aren't too bad either - I highly recommend.
The band are very open to swapping out for people who know the songs too which is pretty cool!

Unfortunately my experience here was terrible. I went for a massage and the guy who massaged me did not do a good job. In fact, I was nearly injured because of improper massage technique as the therapist had no idea what he was doing and was massaging against my spine! I literally had to stop the massage and told the therapist to get on the bed so I can teach him how to massage properly. I asked him how long he has been doing massage for and he said only 3 months. As a massage therapist myself, I completely understand that everyone had to start out new at some point. My frustration is not with the therapist but more so with the owner of this spa who did not train him properly. I highly recommend staying away unless you enjoy the risk of getting injured. Also the facility itself smelled musky , the bed was awfully uncomfortable.

Initially, I was unsure about the spa since it was advertised as a men's spa, which made me wonder if it was only for gay men. However, after visiting the spa, I realized this was not the case.
Inside, the spa was well-organized, clean, and had a friendly atmosphere with pleasant Balinese-style decorations.
While Teman Spa is designed as a safe space for gay people who want a massage, its main focus is on providing professional and skillful massages to all males (and occasionally females) at very affordable prices.
I was greeted by a massage therapist there named Putu, whom I had read about favorably in a previous review. I therefore took the opportunity to have a massage with him right away. The massage was done skillfully and professionally, and I was impressed.

The spa itself is a little tired, and the room I was sent to was showing wear and tear and not particularly inviting. So dont go expecting a high-end environment. But it was nice to have the availability of a shower.

Although we waited a good while for our food, it was as ordered, fresh & tasty. I went to Da Maria on a Saturday night and it’s definitely a restaurant that turns into a nightclub—literally. They don’t fully clear the dining tables, so you can still see all the seating around, but the middle section turns into a dance floor. It’s a unique setup that actually works if you’re with a group and want to go from dinner to dancing without switching locations.
The DJ was great, the crowd was hype, and the music—especially the Afro beats—kept the energy up all night. It was a fun vibe overall.
The drinks though? Super weak. I ordered three different ones and none of them were strong. They tasted more like watered-down juice with a tiny splash of alcohol. Definitely not giving what it needed to give in that department.

We had a delicious dinner at Hibiscus tonight. The chicken sate had a delicious flavour as it was wrapped around lemongrass, something I’ve never seen before but I really enjoyed it. The duck curry was rich with flavour and the duck itself was tender, moist and delicious. The spring rolls were crispy with a yummy vegetable filling and an accompanying sweet chilli sauce. Both of the fresh juices, pineapple and lime+mint, were refreshing and flavourful. On top of this, the staff showed warm, friendly service with big smiles and kind hearts. Food selections and taste are right for just chilling out. Not expensive. Band playing during those nights are performance level. I like the part you can send in your request.
Service crew are attentive and fast to attend to your needs. They explain well menu.
It's sort of romantic as well. If you wanna do clubbing, you can go to their 3rd floor. This is just beside SkyGarden in Legian.

One thing I love is most is they are pet friendly! They even have this Dog Parking sign, although it had fallen but I keep encourage the staff to put it back. Hope they'll do it soon.
There are regular dogs like Popo and Atom which have become our best friends. The view are great, the food are good, and the staff are very friendly, they remember us even after prolonged absence when we couldn't go.
I am also impressed that they continue to improve. There were times when I had to wait for almost an hour for my food but now I get them in 20-ish minutes.
They used to open later, but now I can count on them for breakfast. The food is not always consistent, for example, one day I had the best fries, and the next it was dry and they sprinkled salt on them. Please don't do that. But other than that it's generally good.
The mobile reception is not great but they are kind to share their wifi password.

Update July 2025:
They are back to business outside after renovation. To be honest, I'm not much a fan of the new architecture. Since the development makes everything uniform, it's losing its charm. The wash basin inside the toilet is also very inconvenient. Bring back the big rocky stairs, multi-level seating areas, sand in the middle, Dog Parking sign (miss that since it fell down even before renovation).
Everything else is still the same. Happy to see Atom and Popo again.

Coming from Melbourne and used to the jazz life in StKilda, this place is not only not out of place...but rivals them. On top of that, the air conditioning is super cold and a welcome relief from the heat and humidity. This is your inexpensive EDM nightclub. No door fees and drinks are priced cheaper than the Atlas, ShiShi, etc.
In terms of location Paddy’s is the second last nightclub in Kuta as you head in the airport/south direction. All other night clubs are to the north in Legian and Seminyak. It’s right near the Bali Bomb monument.
There’s nothing pretentious here, Paddy’s isn’t interested in pitching high. Wear super casual and leave the good clothes and accessories at home for a different style of nightclub.
Minimal door security. No frisks or bag searches I noticed. But security was present at the door nevertheless.
Happy hour was 21:00 to 23:00 when I was there. BOGO. We arrived just before HH finished so I quickly ordered mine, my partner ordered hers separately, so I paid for both and we walked away with four, as per the photos. Drinks seemed adequately tasty and strong.
The EDM mix is heavily influenced by pop music of the last 30 years, with the focus on dance beats which implore you to really dance and not bop or shuffle. Nothing technical here, no awesome lights etc. For me it got the job done of getting us up onto the floor with a real relaxed party vibe.
Ton of space to dance, with a couple of small platforms, a pole or two and the DJ crew and security are happy about you jumping up onto the centre stage - that in itself a relic of an era of live rock groups.
Only downer is the lack of cover charge means drunk local men do come here. I noticed that security were monitoring how I was dealing with one individual, which was good to see, not heavy handed and thankfully the drunk got the message from me and backed off my girl.
They have table as well as bar service. Cash or cards.
I docked a star for this… I used cash on this occasion as I wanted to break a very large note. The change took forever. I waited 20 minutes. When I went to the cashier near the door.. I was told that just at that moment my change had been sent to my table. You be the judge.
This bar appeals to tourists who don’t want to spend too much on a night out. Consequently if you’re looking to pickup a classy Indonesian partner then it’s likely they are elsewhere, north in Seminyak. But Indonesian/western singles do go here too and I spotted ample opportunities for singles to mingle.
Compared to the Engine Room across the road, Paddy’s is superior for a “party style” night out where EDM pop beats are going to keep you dancing all night long.

I got a Creambath for my hair with Yuliana, and she did an amazing job. Very relaxing, and my hair feels really soft. Also the neck massage was top notch. Overall, the service is nice and the bar concept in the salon is pretty cool.
Be aware of the 6% Service and 10% taxes.
Not the cheapest cocktails but mine was pretty well made so happy to pay for it.

If you're after a genuine hair treatment, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. I paid over \$120 AUD for a “Botox treatment” that was recommended to me after I initially asked for a keratin treatment. While my hair felt okay when I left the salon, within just a few hours it started to feel worse—dry, tangled, and like knotted straw.
Before the treatment began, I asked how long the smoothness and shine would last. They told me anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, depending on my activities. That seemed reasonable, but disappointingly, my hair didn’t even look good for a full day.
The experience in the chair itself was pleasant—the massage was relaxing and the lady who treated me was lovely—but unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the poor results. The drink I got also was watery and average, so that seems like a tourist gimmick to make up for lack of technical skill.
I reached out to ask for a refund, but they refused because I hadn’t raised a concern when leaving the salon. The issue, however, is that my hair seemed fine at first but quickly deteriorated, failing to last even a single day, let alone the week they promised. They did offer for me to come back so they could "fix" my hair—essentially admitting the treatment didn’t work—yet still refused a refund and are now ignoring my message.
I’ve seen photos of their blow waves, and while those appear to turn out well (though they’re quite pricey. Even as an add on it’s $40+ just for the blow wave), if you're looking for a proper salon treatment, I’d suggest going elsewhere.
* edit- they finally messaged me back to say they saw the review and are “grateful that they have thousands of others who think it’s good value!” So basically- we acknowledge your hair required fixing and it turned out poorly, but other people will pay for it so it’s fine!

I had such a wonderful experience at the Blow Bar in Seminyak! Dera was my stylist and she was absolutely amazing — so much so that I booked a second appointment before I even left.
The first time I had gorgeous beachy curls, and the second time Dera worked her magic straightening my hair, both with a treatment that left it feeling silky and healthy. The whole experience was relaxing, and I left feeling great.
A visit to blow bar is a must — everything you need to feel fabulous, whether you’re a man or a woman. Highly recommend visiting the Blow Bar and asking for Dera!

The club has potential, but they charge a cover even when the place is somewhat empty in the lounge upstairs. The atmosphere loses out because of this. DJs here are hit or miss. One that was playing when we arrived was great, mixing songs and showing his skill. The second DJ basically faded a couple songs together and drank for the 3 minutes in between. It would have been better to use Spotify.
Like all clubs in Bali, it's gross with smokers. It's an annoyance for me because it's only a few hours, but it's disgusting that they allow it at all. In this day to allow people to work in a smoke-filled room is just plain dangerous and irresponsible. Not to mention how easily they allow drunk customers to walk down to their parking garage and drive themselves home.

Ended up puking our guts out all night after we left because they sold us bootlegged arak instead of actual alcohol, arak is homemade alcohol they sell to tourists and it makes you really really sick. For 170k I expected the drinks to be clean. It was way too smoky inside, and I'm a smoker myself. On the plus side, the music was good.
